8. Do you prefer reading paper or electronic books?
Paper for sure. E-books are fine, but if I'm going to read instead of listen, I like being able to feel how much I have left in the book. I like being able to actually see my progress. (And possibly panic if there's not much left and things still aren't resolved.)
11. Who is a mentor to you?
My parents for sure. I was a super awkward kid and they worked so hard to help me mellow out into a less awkward adult. I've loved how our relationships have evolved over the years.
Throughout high school I had other mentors here and there. Some moved, some passed, and a bunch grew distant after we left our old church. Unfortunately I'm so much of a homebody now that I don't currently have anyone outside of my family who would count, lol. I do have great friends who lean into the iron sharpening iron thing, though, so it's a decent compromise.
22. Do you like spicy food?
My heart does. My body is of British and Scandinavian stock and cries at jalapeños.
32. What are you afraid of?
Becoming obsolete. Not old age—I’m not afraid of that. Just of uselessness and being forgotten.
I'm also hopelessly petrified of heights. Try as I might, I can't brain my way around it.
Irrational fears are so weird.
(asks here.)
#asks#I got incredibly melodramatic answering that last one this morning#then I read a book and washed my hair and made some food and edited it 😅#and it still ended up sappy. sigh.#I will fight off the horrors with soup and psalms#(she says as she wraps up reading through Job)#(aka the most baffling of Bible books)
