If you talk too much and the entire house knows they canāt trust you, word will get around. This is not a Taylor situation theyāre just bad players from what weāve seen so far. If I was in the house and saw an easy target in someone id let them ruin their own game and mind my business. Izzy taking the initiative to use that her to advantage isnāt a wild choice to make and sheās not a rat for doing it. so I have thoughts about this week's episode of 911. My partner and I ranted at one another when we watched it yesterday, and I need to put my thoughts out into the world. Spoilers under the cut. Also tagged though, just to be safe.
Alright so, I wanna say first that while I've mostly enjoyed this season, some of the arcs and basically all of the pacing has me really frustrated? And not frustrated because of cliffhangers and not frustrated because the writing wants me to be. Frustrated because the pacing has been far too quick - though, I expect the super truncated season is to be blamed for that - but also some of the writing and character arcs just..... Do not fit the vibe of the show up until this season? Plus, the lack of calls/focus on characters personal lives has also got me sad. Like, I love the characters and love seeing the peeks into their loves, but I really hope the show doesn't maintain the equation of one big emergency, a few calls sprinkled through out the season, and then mostly focused on the characters lives because *I* preferred the balance it was before. Or would have been happy with a tiny bit more focus on their personal lives, but not to the extent it is now, know?
Eddie and Kim are a great example. Especially what it culminated to in 7x09. It just makes no God damned sense and does not fit Eddie's characterization in my opinion? It came out of left field. It's a really, really weird god damned story line. I *am* glad that Buck approached Eddie about it AS SOON as he learned about the situation though. Like if it wasn't anything, Eddie... You wouldn't have hid her from Buck OR Marisol. If it wasn't anything, you wouldn't have lied and said you didn't have a gf. And it frustrates me that before this episode, he had been looking back on his relationship with Shannon with such rose colored glasses and forgetting the very large, sort of insurmountable issues that they had. Though that isn't out of character for him, I just hated it. Lol
And the stuff with the councilwoman in this episode also made me insanely angry. And went way too quick. Politicians can grease a lot of wheels but that entire situation - Maria's adoption getting stopped, AND her getting ripped out of their house because their foster license got revoked - really felt like it happened way too quick and should have raised some red flags/encountered some road blocks in the system???
Also I hate that NO ONE outside of Athena seemed to question Bobby's definitely very weird behavior. Like I feel like super anxious to every change in someone's demeanor Buck, and INSANELY perceptive Hen would have picked up that something was wrong????
Also idk man, Athena going to Amir, AND BRINGING HIM INTO HER HOUSE THAT HAS ALL OF THIS EVIDENCE OF HOW GOOD BOBBY HAS IT NOW - even if Bobby doesn't think he deserves it, even if Bobby has been stewing in his self loathing basically since childhood and his dad dying - to help with Bobby's spiralings/self destruction cycle felt a little out of characterly naive of her?
Like.. I don't think he's the one who set the house on fire at the end of the episode - I did at first, but my partner pointed out that it'd be the too obvious choice - but I just don't think either Bobby OR Amir are ready for that. And I feel like history shows, and her characterization shows, that she'd be more perceptive and realize that.
That being said, some things I *liked* about the episode:
Chim getting to clapback at racist homophobic Gerrard (spelling?) at the award ceremony
Bobby telling Buck that he knows Tommy is good for him because Buck hasn't spiraled about their relationship/ranted about it to him.
Buck telling Eddie that he's worried about him. That interaction, Buck calling Eddie out, it felt good and like the 911 I'm used to.
Athena calling Bobby out on his self destruction cycle. I do wish she would have pointed out how often she has leaned on him (as much as a chronically independent woman like her, can anyway) especially when it came to finally solving her fiancƩ's murder for instance.
Idk man, the show just doesn't feel the same as it has in the past and I'm really hoping it's because of the change in network and is just an adjustment period.

can you explain whats going on w wnba/caitlin clark effect? I don't follow sports and I'm not American but I am nosy
lol i adore this message actually. yes im happy to explain. but im terrible at keeping it brief so get ready lmao: (tldr at the end)
caitlin clark is a women's basketball player who played in college for the university of iowa. she graduated back in may and this is her first season in the WNBA. a few months ago, during her senior season at iowa, she broke the all-time record for points scored in her college career, for both men's and women's basketball. she's very talented, she makes these crazy 3-point shots (idk how much surface knowledge you have of basketball so i dont wanna sound condescending by overexplaining stuff but yeah a regular basket is worth 2 points and if you shoot from beyond the big semi circle drawn on the court around the hoop, that's worth 3 points bc it's much farther away).
last year, in april 2023, the university of iowa made it all the way to the finals of the national championship tournament. they played against LSU, who ended up winning by a huge margin. caitlin clark was (and is) a bit of a trash talker, like taunting the players on the opposing team during a game etc. and thats fine, it's part of the sport, it comes with the territory of being a fierce competitor. but when LSU won, the star of LSU's team, Angel Reese, went up to Caitlin before the game was officially over (like the game clock was still running and the players were still on the court) and did this little hand wave gesture that caitlin had done to one of Angel's teammates. basically rubbing her face in the fact that they ended up winning and they beat caitlin and her team. VIDEO to clarify lol idk how much sense that made.
okay thats the backstory, so NOW the shitstorm starts.
there was a TON of media attention given to that one moment. it broke into mainstream news media, not just basketball fans or even sports fans in general. Angel Reese is a black woman from Baltimore, Maryland (which has a reputation for being very poor and there being a lot of gang violence and crime, etc). Caitlin Clark is a white woman from Iowa. People made that moment into a huge Thing, saying Angel is classless, she's a violent thug, she's arrogant and rude, basically everything negative you can say about a black person without outright calling them a slur but everyone knows what you really mean. By contrast, Caitlin was made into this poor fragile victim in the situation. just an innocent white Midwestern girl being picked on by this big mean scary """Thug""" (wink wink). naturally, the reactionary far right made this a huge thing of identity politics and culture war. "Caitlin is a Victim who did nothing wrong and everyone hates her because she's white in a black-dominated sport and she's more talented than them and they just can't handle it." that kind of shit.
so the next year is both caitlin's and angel's senior year. caitlin broke several scoring records during that season (good for her, she's talented) and women's college basketball was getting more attention than ever, thanks in large part to the publicity boost the whole Angel vs Caitlin encounter got. they didn't play each other, since Louisiana and Iowa are in different regions of the country they really were only going to meet in the national championship tournament. and they did, in the semifinal round. Iowa won. everyone framed it as Caitlin's Revenge, of course. Right wing bigots, who have practically made Caitlin their mascot for white supremacy in sports at this point, had a field day with that and said some of the most vile racist and sexist shit possible. Hardly surprising but still very upsetting to watch.
a couple months ago, Angel and Caitlin both joined the WNBA. the way the draft works is that, to keep the league mostly balanced and competitive (so theres not one team with every star player and every other team has nobody and sucks ass lol), the lowest ranked teams from the previous season get the first choice of new players. naturally, caitlin was the first one to be picked lol. the media attention focused on her in college has followed her to the WNBA, but she has not been nearly as successful there. she was kind of a big fish in a small pond in college, and now she's been plopped into the ocean. her fame is way out of proportion with her actual athletic performance in her first few weeks of professional play. also, professional basketball is a lot more physically aggressive and rough than college basketball, and Caitlin is getting roughed up by the other teams' players regularly. this happens to every rookie, it's not new and it's also not personal. but the brigade of weird ass right wing losers who have made her their Aryan Princess has insisted that the other players are targeting her on purpose because they want to humble her and they're jealous of her talent and fame and they're being unnecessarily violent (again with the racist dogwhistles) and they have a vendetta against caitlin.
anyway tl;dr
the "caitlin clark effect" is basically like. this huge surge in attention that womens basketball has gotten, and CC is given ALL of the credit for it, despite the sport having been steadily growing for years now. thousands of people come to games, millions tune in to the games on TV, etc. but...... it's only for games caitlin's team (the Indiana Fever) is playing. yeah the attention has brought new fans in who otherwise wouldnt notice womens basketball or care about it at all, but for the most part the new fans are not basketball fans, they are caitlin clark fans.
This post is an example of how weird it all is and how the fans act.
and now the newest controversy is that she wasn't named to the US olympic team, despite her being huge for TV ratings and public hype/attention for women's basketball. the reality is that she simply was not good enough to be a better asset to the team than any of the 12 women who were selected. and this USA team is one of the best teams ever put together. it's not a popularity contest, it's not about TV ratings or ticket sales, it's about winning. but instead, her not being picked is being called a "snub" and has added fuel to the "poor caitlin everyone is so jealous of how much of a star she is and they're retaliating against her for it!" narrative.
her popularity and fame are propelled by some very dark political currents, and it has become part of this huge american cultural split that right wing extremists are making from mainstream society. she's Special because she's talented in a sport that's been historically dominated (or, lets be real, built) by black women, and there's the angle of gender non-conformity there too (female athletes regardless of orientation are already seen as like "butch lite" and need to be super feminine to compensate) and homophobia (lots of lesbians in basketball lol) and she's seen as this figure who is [nobly] disrupting the status quo of that subculture.

I just re-watched season 2 of Stranger Things and here's the takeaway for me - stop me if you've heard this one before ;) - whoever I was when I watched it in 2017 is not the girl you see before you. I have a wayyyy different interpretation of the characters and the show.
(Season 1 thoughts here.)
'MADMAX' was the coolest way to introduce Max. She is absolutely as rad as I remember. I'm not entirely sure they knew why they wrote Max into the show... Was it to give Lucas something to do (which is shitty for his character); was it to add another girl (yay tokenism); was it a setup for later seasons (I might accept that because not all new characters have to be the star of the show)? Who knows! What I do know is that Sadie Sink really gave Max teeth in an otherwise... eh storyline.
I forgot Nancy and Steve went to Barb's parents for dinners. Makes me so fucking sad. The entire Barb situation is tragic. Idk if it was a reaction to the 'Justice for Barb' movement but regardless, having some follow-up around that was so important. Nancy's trauma being (somewhat) explored was great too.
Jesus H. Christ Noah Schnapp can fucking act. Like yeah, Sadie Sink killed season 4 but Noah Schnapp season 2 is incredible. And he's thirteen! And the intensity and nuance in his performance are wild! !!! !!!
I remember being so charmed by the Dustin and Steve pair-up. Still am. Still am.
"He likes it cold." Yikes. Like I said about season 1, it's cool watching this through a Vecna lens. It feels plausible he was the plan for the show all along.
My memory of Dart was a nice one. Turns out that I forgot he killed Mews. Fuck that guy Dart. He is not my homie. RIP Mews. You deserved better.
I remember the demodogs being more dog-like. They truly be serving Silent Hill, huh?
Unpopular opinion but I don't hate the Kali storyline. I can see how I thought it sucked in 2017; waiting all that time for season 2 to finally come out, then getting that. I probably wanted more action and group bonding. However, I like that we got to see a) an alternative outcome for El had she not found Mike and Hopper, and b) El gain some autonomy in her search for history and home. It makes her choice to be Hopper's daughter more meaningful. The storyline also broadened the danger and cruelty of Brenner and co., and gave a legit setting for El to learn more about her powers.
RIP Bob. My memory of you was correct and you truly are a hero. Casting was A+ because nobody thought they'd violently kill a LOTR/Goonies star in the 80s themed show.
Watching the entire gang in the Byers house in episode 8 was so cool. That sweeping shot of all of them poised ready for the demodog attack... chefs kiss. I am now even angrier that they were all separated in season 4.
There's so much talk about cool television dads. Din Djarin this. Bandit Heeler that. Joel Miller who. Bob Belcher why. Where is the hype for Joyce Byers, who once again proves to be parent of the motherfucking year?! Are you kidding me?!
Knowing that the show goes on to call Mike the heart of the party is a real kick in the teeth. Will is so utterly the heart of this family and found family.
So, I never fell in love with Steve. Not a Stevie girlie. But, ah, this rewatch has me feeling all kinds of things. The fucking character development on this boy?! Might have to branch out into some Steeeeeedie x Reader fics. Shiiiit.
I. Love. Nancy. She. Is. So. Smart. Give. Her. More. Guns. And the scene with Dustin at the dance still breaks my heart. I love her, your honor.
Murray was exactly how I remembered.
Hopper was wayyyy better this season. The "sometimes I think I'm a black hole" speech was fantastic. Him telling El about Sarah, finally, is so healing for them both.
My opinions about Jonathan and Steve changed so much between 2016 and 2023, so I went into this with an open mind re: Billy. However, here's the thing. He's racist. Racists just aren't babes. No matter how else his behaviour and personality are contextualised, he will always be a racist so it's a hard no for me. Yes, Billy is the victim of an abusive parent, but that can only be used to explain some of his behaviour. Not all of it. Nor can it be used to excuse some of his behaviour. Nothing that has happened to Billy can justify the way Max is terrified when she hears his car. She is terrified of him. I'm not saying they don't love each other in a very complicated messy way, but when I try 'redeem' (for lack of a better word) season 2 Billy, I can't. Billy deserved a safe and good home, deserved better than what life gave him, but he'll continue to be a blocked tag for me. I do wanna say that I think he's an important character for a lot of people, and that is so valid. That's why I don't go around posting shit about him 24/7. I'll probably have a lot to say about him in season 3 too, because hey guess what, sexualising a teenager is weird as hell @ grown up adult women living in Hawkins.
At the end of season 2 I am so keen for some more El/Will friendship, Max development, and Jopper.
And I'm onto season 3. (Edit: here's the link!)
This has been a Stranger Things Rhi-Watch.

Okay I know I bitch about season 4 a lot so here are some things I actually liked:
I like the basketball/dice rolling mash-up. Felt like classic ST. I like that they remind us that the highest stakes in the kidsā lives should be D&D and winning the big game rather than interdimensional war.
I like that the big bad comes directly from the opening campaign like season 1.
I like that Max gets a lot of the spotlight bc she deserves it.
I like that this season gives Lucas more to do and that heās amazing at it. Ditto Erica.
I like Jonathan having a little buddy since heās literally had no friends since S1.
Same goes for Nancy. She needs a friend and Ronance friendship is one of the best things ever. Bonus if they fall in love later but honestly having a platonic friend wonāt hurt her.
I like that Jonathan joins the Mike Wheeler hate club.
I like that Murray gets to keep his little Russian pal this time #justiceforalexei. I hope theyāre very happy together.
I like that they brought back the bikes and added bonus older kids on bikes. I literally squealed at the shot that flipped upside down and mirrored all eight of them on the bikes. More bikes plz.
I like that they found Reefer Rick via video rental archives. Very classic ST, very Scooby Doo. I like that the show points out that these kids figure out mysteries not because they have resources or money or adult help (which they donāt) but bc theyāre clever.
I like that it was pretty. For the most part all the shots were really visually stunning. There were def times when cinematography outshone writing byā¦ a lot.
I like that Dustin went from no dad in season one to two dads by season four.
I liked every single moment the actors improvised and honestly all of their performances were top notch. No notes.
I like that one of Hopperās useless deputies is now the chief. It was a good choice since he is slightly less useless than the other one.
I like that El blows up a helicopter, continuing the grand ST tradition of not being afraid to kill people who suck/are trying to harm children and having no moral back and forth about it. Blowing up a helicopter full of military child killers is morally good.
I like that the writers were like āyouāve seen Steve and Dustin dynamic, now get ready for Steve and Max dynamic!ā I like that he fills the role of the big brother she should have had rather than the shitty one she got.
I like that Papa dies and thereās absolutely no question about it this time. He is dead 5sure. I like that El doesnāt forgive him or give him absolution in death. One thing this show really gets right is that one sacrificial act doesnāt erase a lifetime of abuse. The show gets that with Billy and with Brenner. Five stars.
Similarly, I like how complicated Maxās grief is. Of course you feel survivorās guilt over someone close to you who died for you, but of course you have mixed feelings when that person was a racist and abusive asshole to you, your friends, and your boyfriend. Of course you feel a little relieved that your tormentor is dead, and of course you feel guilty for feeling that way. So many shows are guilty of āredeemingā a character through death without any actual change or accountability and Iām glad we donāt get that here.
I like Robin. She is everything to me.
I like Eddie. See above. I am not immune to white boy of the month especially when heās like *gestures at him* that.
I like Jopper. I feel it has been extremely well handled from the first hints in season one to the unrequited pining from Hopper in season two (that he never makes her problem, he supports her) to their sexually charged bickering in season three to her saving his fucking life this seasonā¦ itās amazing and Iām so glad the parents of the group are finally together.
Aaaaaaaaaand thatās it. But honestly thatās more than I thought there would be when I sat down to write this list.

What happened exactly with Centaurworld? YouTube tried to recommend me some video about it but the preview just kept me from even thinking of watching the show but I'm curious as how your shitpost actually happened.
*deep breath* Okay, let's see... I actually went back and watched through the HOUR-LONG SEASON FINALE as well as episode 5 of S2 to make sure I wasn't misrepresenting anything for humor's sake.
So! Oh, also, spoilers I guess? Though, aside from six people who follow me, I doubt anyone cares that much about Centaurworld..?
S1! We're introduced to the main antagonist of the story during the final two episodes: The Nowhere King
Jumping forward to S2, we find out that our main character Horse has the ability to jump into other people's backstories in the ultimate invasion of privacy. Leading us to such wonderful character-reveals as:
Glendale (the freaky-looking bug-eyed gazelle... thing) has such crippling kleptomania (that may also be a little bit schizophrenia-induced, if we dig into any potential symbolism her personification of her stomach-portal can have) that it's ruined every relationship she's ever had
Ched (the flying one) -- Actually, quick aside, can I just say I HATE the birdtaur designs in this show? They aren't centaurs! They aren't even quadrupedal! They're basically just shitty birdsonas! -- is racist (speciesist I guess) against Horse and anything horse-like because, when he was a child he was publicly shamed and humiliated by the aristocratic horsetaurs.
Which. I mean, cool motive; but you're still an asshole, buddy.
And Derpleton, that fucking dipshit giraffe centaur, has crippling daddy-issues and the constant desire to want to be a father to someone because his own father kicked him out of the house into a stormy night because Derpleton was being too emotionally clingy and not living up to his expectations.
Which. I mean, cool motive; but, God, you're still so annoying I want you to die..!
Anyway, all this leads to the finale where its the big war between The Nowhere King's unholy army of minotaurs and abominations versus the unified army of Centaurworld. Horse gets the idea of going into the Nowhere King's backstory.
This is where... Whew, boy.
So, first, Horse wanders into a pitch-black abyss which is completely empty, prompting her to think she died until she meets an Elk who leads her to find out that the Nowhere King used to be an elk centaur who maintained the portal between the human world and Centaurworld. He fell in love with a human princess/queen (who could NOT have been anymore obvious with her Fuck Me eyes and 'I'm ready to jump into monsterfucker territory' innuendo -- for fuck's sake, she called his horns cute and lamented when they fell off!) but he's full of self-hatred and gets the idea that 'oh, she's a human and I'm not; she would never want to be with me! ... Unless~!'
So he proceeds to perform some crime against nature experiments on separating centaurs into their animal and human halves. After several cycles, he performs the experiment on himself, resulting in two entities: the Elk... and the man who would go on to become the General of the human army.
As many stories have told us, you can't separate a mentally/emotionally unstable person into two entities without creating two entities who are even more unstable. The General goes to woo the princess/queen and is living it up, but the Elk is fucking miserable and pleads with the general to put them back together again. The General responds to this by trying to drown the elk, only stopping when he himself starts drowning: realizing that if one of them dies, they both die. The General's response? So, uh... Remember how Horse wandered into a pitch-black abyss when she first entered The Nowhere King's backstory? Yeah...
The General goes full sociopath and locks the Elk away in a cold, dark cell for Ten. Years. The Elk only being freed when the princess/queen finds him and sets him free. Of course, by that point, the Elk's mental state is even MORE unstable and he gets it in his head to use the same experiments that he did as an Elktaur to try and create a family for himself, resulting in the minotaurs who would go on to cause havoc for both the human world and Centaurworld. All the while, the constant experiments are rotting the Elk's body to the point where he would become the corrupted being known as The Nowhere King.
However, there's a brief moment of respite! The princess/queen corners both TNK and the General in the rift between worlds and says she knows what they've done and she's going to fix it: making an attempt to use the magic to force the two back together and seal the portals between their two realms. However, the magic is also unstable and it ends up reacting negatively: sending the princess/queen into Centaurworld with several components of the magic McGuffin, sending the General back to the human world with one piece, sealing the portals to both worlds, and trapping TNK in the empty space between both realms. Alone. Further fracturing an already shattered mind.
So the original shitpost I made was under the assumption that TNK was originally human but the princess/queen wanted more power and that power corrupted him into TNK and she wasn't able to change him back.
When, in reality, it should have been: 'When you're a teratophile and you're so thirsty and DTF but your monster boyfriend is so self-conscious that he turns himself human and makes everything bad for everyone and everytime you try to turn him back, shit keeps fucking up'.

With more articulation, I'm ready to talk about why the push for Lokius simply bothers me, and this can be said for other m/m or w/w ships that fans push to be canon so hard just because they ship it.
It's the framing. The framing that if Marvel doesn't do it (or whatever the brand is), it's because homophobia, and if other fans don't like it/ship it, it's because homophobia (even if they ship other queer ships and are queer themselves.) And the biggest problem with that is that it overshadows the REAL issue of lack of queer representation on screen in mainstream nerd media, especially from big things under the Disney umbrella (Marvel and Lucasfilm/Star Wars, especially.)
It makes it bad that your ship isn't canon instead of bad that there haven't been any queer romances on screen in the MCU.
And like, as a writer myself, I find myself dissecting the stories of other media all the time. I can watch an MCU movie or series and pretty much assess what direction the story is going in by the narrative points they're hitting. I knew Sylki was basically gonna happen (even if just a kiss) because narratively, that's what the show was doing as soon as they had that "what is love" conversation on Lamentis-1. It didn't mean I liked it. But I knew it was happening.
Similarly, there's no romantic undertones to Loki and Mobius. None. For Marvel to make them a couple, it would mean they'd be doing it simply because the two present as men and it would make stans happy. And while there's something to be said for fan service, it would be annoying to watch them cram two guys together who aren't romantic in the slightest. I'd much rather see Loki meet some guy and have the same type of undertones they were giving to Sylvie and form a real bond to where the kiss feels earned and warranted. Not just put him with the nearest man because "he gay lol."
And how you guys are claiming it's being queer that makes you want this is beyond me. It's not being queer that makes you want this. I don't want queer characters that fuck everyone of whatever gender(s) they're attracted to even when it doesn't make sense for them to. I want real love stories. I mean, yeah, sometimes we can have a slut character, because that's fun, too, but that's not even what y'all think Lokius is. You seem to want them to be in love. But why? Because he's the first friend Loki made that isn't through Thor?
I hate that, too, because I hate this idea that queer people cannot have friends of their same gender without wanting to fuck them. IDK how y'all are, maybe y'all are like that, but I almost never have wanted to fuck any of my friends. The only few exceptions have been when I tried to befriend someone I had a crush on (in which case, usually the friendship can't work, really, because I have a crush on them.) I also think it's okay if you can have casual sex with friends, or if you have a friendship that develops into romance, but Jesus, do you people not have friends that you don't want to fuck? I am bi, maybe more pan (gender kind of doesn't matter to me, I guess) and I'm friends with people of all kinds of gender identities and like... I love them as people, which is why they're my friends, but I DO NOT want to fuck them. Especially my closest friend. I talked about her, before, here, but she's like my sister. The thought of fucking her is gross, to me. Not because she's gross, but because it feels incestuous.
Loki shouldn't want to fuck Mobius just because they developed a friendship. And that's very much how it's written on the series. They almost dislike each other (or Mobius is at least indifferent to Loki) and then they become friends.
That's not to mention the power dynamic that exists, there. And I know some of y'all are subs, but yeah, it's a bit gross to imply a sexual relationship with Loki's captor.
But on to Sylki. It sucks that I feel like most of y'all hate Sylki because Sylvie is a girl, and not just because it's bad in other ways. Like, the reasons Sylki is bad have less to do with "it should have been Mobius" and more to do with it being a lazy 1980s action movie plot that should have never happened. I'm not as creeped out by the selfcest (as many of you wouldn't have been if she was a he, I'm almost positive), but what's bad about it is that they couldn't have a strong female lead character without her being the love interest of the main guy. She didn't need to be, especially because she was a Loki variant, anyway. There was no need for it to have romantic undertones, and there was no need for them to kiss. It was sexist more than it was homophobic (and I can't help feeling like y'all are kind of being biphobic in this case. Maybe I'll talk about that, later, but yeah.) It was sexist bullshit. And there's valid criticism that Sylvie is underdeveloped. She's just angry and something for Loki to project affection onto.
I was also hoping they'd do a "found family" type of thing with Sylvie and Loki and let her be like the sister he never knew he needed, but no, they had to go trope and make her the love interest. It was lazy and bad and basically went "If Loki girl, main Loki want bone!"
Basically, having the main character fall for a character just because of their proximity and gender is bad and I hate it (and it would have been bad with Mobius, too, but yeah.)
Both the Mobius and the Sylvie thing also feel kind of racist, to me, because the show has prominent Black women who aren't even presented as desirable to Loki. And y'all, of course, ship him with anyone but the Women of Color. Y'all can pull true love with Mobius out of your ass, but he couldn't possibly fall for the Black women. lol.
Anyway. Not every show needs ships, and this show shouldn't have had any. I hate it. It's bad.
I guess on the biphobia front, I have heard some takes that it's not biphobic because Loki being queer in the MCU which hasn't shown any queer relationships, and Loki being the first openly queer character means they shouldn't have shown him with a woman presenting character. Which, I guess I get where you're coming from... but I have also been in fandoms for a long time and I see mostly girls saying this shit, which is what leads me to feel like it's simply jealousy. It happens all the time when a long-beloved single male character/celebrity suddenly starts dating a woman. Everyone hates it. And like, we haven't seen Loki be with ANYONE in the MCU, because mostly he's been doing villainy and his dating life hasn't been relevant. If the demigod says he's bi, he can kiss a woman. Especially a woman version of himself. Like I said, I hate it for other reasons, but pretending it's because he should have kissed Mobius is utterly delusional. He probably shouldn't have kissed anyone. Not in this series. There was no reason for any canon romance, especially because the show has a season 2 and we'll have time to see Loki develop earned, deserved romance with someone.
I'd much rather see them create a character just to be his boyfriend than have y'all push Marvel into making Lokius canon, which is a nonsense ship that only happened because Mobius is the only prominent male-presenting character before we meet the other Lokis.
My sincere wish is for people to remember that their ships are just ships and to enjoy them without getting all self-righteous about it. I TOLD y'all that Lokius wasn't gonna be canon like 4 episodes back, and here y'all are acting shocked and like Marvel took something from you. NOBODY expected y'all to ship Lokius. It's not even queerbait.
You can make clear arguments as to why Sambucky was queerbait. It's there in undertones in the actual series.
You cannot watch Loki and tell me you thought it was queerbait, unless you think men can't have conversations or hug goodbye without being romantically involved. Which means, in my opinion, that you need to learn about healthy masculinity.
Again, this is not a defense of Marvel. They DO need to let characters be queer, for real, and not just by saying " A bit of both". Like, let Loki be queer. Let Deadpool be queer. Let these queer characters be queer on screen. Yes.
But please stop making it about your ship. I'd rather see a flashback of Loki dating a guy and see him kiss someone he loved back on Asgard than watch y'all force Lokius. Because my queer rep is not about your crackship. It really isn't. And the fact that y'all keep calling us homophobic for not liking your ship REALLY needs to be addressed.
Like, when will y'all stop? I got on Stucky shippers about this shit in the past. All of us gay as hell, too, we just don't like YOUR ship. A lot of us like other queer ships. A lot of us like queer ships in other fandoms, too, and even have queer OCs. YOUR ship just ain't it. Stop forcing it. Literally, most of the ship wars between MCU fans have been queer ship vs queer ship, not really queer ship vs straight ship. Like, the number one Stucky rival ship was Stony. Not Steggy. People are not homophobic for not wanting your ship.
Sometimes it's because they ship something else.
And sometimes, like me, it's because they want something to make sense narratively and not happen for the sake of it happening. It's always better writing to have a character meetcute a new love interest than to magically turn a platonic friendship into a romantic relationship. Like, even when the characters are straight. Like, when Moesha dated Hakeem. It was just weird, even if he was kind of a great boyfriend. He was just supposed to be her friend, and people didn't really like it because it didn't fit narratively.
And that's why ships for the most part should be left to fanfiction, with the exception of a few where fans are right to call out the writers for not making it canon because it's clearly bait (like what happened to Destiel shippers. To see Lokius shippers compare themselves to THAT was so ridiculous. Destiel shippers had a decade of evidence only to be let down by a criminally unfair ending. Lokius shippers saw two men have a deep conversation once and lost their minds.)
Anyway, I'm not saying don't ship Lokius. I don't even hate it, really. I just think it obviously shouldn't be canon, and fans pretending like they were robbed of it is ridiculous. Literally, Ao3 exists for this reason. I will never see Steve fuck Sam Wilson, so I wrote it into my fanfic. I am not mad that they didn't actually date in the main MCU storyline.
#mcu#shippers#loki#loki series#marvel#shippers literally drive me bonkers#most of the criticism I'm seeing of the Loki series essentially boils down to Lokius didn't happen#and like .... it was never going to happen#please leave us alone#Ao3 is a great place to enjoy ship you're never going to see in the movies or on TV#please do that#don't try to call everyone homophobic for not liking your ridiculous ship#and don't obscure the legitimate criticism with your Lokius bullshit#Sylki was bad because it's sexist#she was like every woman in an 80s action movie#there to kick butt and motivate the hero with her lips#sylki isn't bad because lokius is good#lokius is bad too#it's just that both of them are okay for fanfiction#everyone wants that#just ship it#i'm begging

Rating CM CouplesĀ Because Iām Bored
*I think I put everyone that I can remember in here but ifĀ I'm forgetting someone, let me know!*
A/N: theseĀ are in noĀ specific order and yesĀ I know you didnāt ask for this but too bad :) also spoilers are in there if you haveāt seen the whole thing!
----
Aaron and Haley
The high school sweethearts storyline was cuteĀ
Great parentsĀ
I still think she was cheating, it was a little shady that her phone rang right after he got off the landlineĀ
āMake sure he knows you werenāt always so seriousā or whatever she said was sweet
Her death didnāt cause tears but seeing Hotch cry out her death did cause tears
Feel like her storyline could have ended better, they didnāt really need to kill her but they did it for the āØrazzle dazzleāØĀ
Maybe they could have gotten a divorce and been great co-parentsĀ
Overall: 8/10 (her dyingĀ was aĀ shitty end)Ā
Gideon and Sarah (the lady from the cabin)Ā
Very shortĀ storyline
She made himĀ happyĀ
The dance scene in theĀ cabin in Fisher King pt.1 wasĀ adorable Ā
Would have like to seen more of herĀ
Overall: 10/10 (they were the least problematic couple)
JJ and WillĀ
Love themĀ
Will is non-problematic (stan him for clear skin)Ā
Their family is adorableĀ
Heās a great father (literally put his job on hold and moved states for her to continue her job after Henry)Ā
She could have definitely treated him betterĀ
Could have included their other kid more, itās always about Henry
Will is always about JJ, JJ tends to wander ? (the je*d situation)Ā
Overall: 7/10 (cause of the je*d situation and they could have made the storyline better)Ā
Spencer and MauveĀ
Again, short and shitty storylineĀ
There was so much more that could have been done here (like maybe let him be happy for once??)
In suspense for the longest time about the secret phone calls and when Mauve was finally introduced, we got like 2 minutes of proper screen time with herĀ
Their little dance was cuteĀ
Her death was absolute bullshitĀ
She tells Spencer that she loves him on the phone and he's in shock so he doesn't say it back, then she hangs upĀ
When he finally sees her in person, sheās minutes away from her deathĀ
He had to tell her that he didnāt love her even thought he did (at least it seemed like he did)Ā
Bringing her back in season 15 was nice so we had some closure ?? (but why was she blonde ? they have hair salons in heaven ??)
Overall: 6/10 (hated the way it ended :( )
Derek and Savannah Ā
Savannah was the perfect woman for Derek. SheāsĀ smart, has a good job with a weird schedule (like his), not to mention gorgeousĀ
But making him settle down with the first woman he really showed interest in, didn't make senseĀ
If he had a previous relationship that didnāt work and then introduced Savannah, it would have made senseĀ
They were well suited, personality and looks wiseĀ
Would have liked to seen their wedding Ā
He got married and we didnāt even get to see it :(Ā
The way their storyline ended was a mess ??
He gets kidnapped and when she gets him back, she gets shot and they almost lose the baby, then Morgan almost gets himself killed again and barely got back in time for the birthĀ
Overall: 8/10 (could have been better written but they were cute)Ā
Matt and KristyĀ
Unproblematic favsĀ
King and Queen shitĀ
GreatĀ parentsĀ
LoveĀ love love their storyline, from CMBB to CM, it was allĀ around goodĀ
Theyāre both hot andĀ educatedĀ
I donāt understand where theyĀ had make toĀ make a 5th kid when heās never home, sheās a lawyer (that has to be time consuming) and 4Ā children to take care ofĀ
Their love as always on display, seen the rawest version of it in 13x19Ā
Overall: 10/10 (love them)
Penelope and KevinĀ
The showerĀ scene when Rossi went to herĀ apartment was the peakĀ scandalousĀ moment for themĀ
Her wants and needs were too much for him to handleĀ
She was superĀ independent and he wanted her to do what heĀ wants in a wayĀ
TheĀ whole marriage plot was dropped real quickĀ
He wanted a farm ?? (ifĀ IĀ remember correctly) and she didnāt want thatĀ
The end of their relationship wasĀ weirdĀ
They had that moment at JJ and Willās wedding and thenĀ that was it ?? He kinda justĀ vanished after ?Ā
Overall: 5/10 (average couple)
Derek and PenelopeĀ
TopĀ tierĀ
WouldĀ have be a power couple ifĀ they gotĀ together (already a power couple butĀ wouldĀ haveĀ officially been one)Ā
The way they look at eachĀ other
The way theĀ protect each other,Ā especially him with herĀ
Theyāre in love you canāt tell me otherwiseĀ
If theyĀ werenāt in love, why would he come back to the BAU and only see her ?Ā
They probably hooked up on the lowsĀ
There was a lot of potential here
āYouāre my god given solaceā š„ŗš„ŗš„ŗš„ŗ
Overall: 10/10 Ā (myĀ favourites!!)Ā
Spencer and DerekĀ
Cute cute cute
Thatās been there since day one
TheyĀ always had a playful relationship butĀ Derek wasĀ alwaysĀ protecting him, no matter whatĀ
Although SpencerĀ wasn'tĀ physically capable of defending, he stillĀ tried in his own wayĀ
TheirĀ relationship has grownĀ a lot since season 1Ā
āweāll be bound together through space and time and some day, in another life, we will meet againāĀ āI'll beĀ waiting for youā like come on, in love.Ā
there was a lot of potential here tooĀ
Overall: 9/10 (-1 cause it didnāt actually happen)Ā
Aaron andĀ EmilyĀ
CouldĀ definitelyĀ see the tension between themĀ
There was 100%Ā chemistryĀ thereĀ
They both think alike, theyāreĀ very critical thinkers which forĀ obviousĀ reasons wouldnātĀ haveĀ works
Would have been cute thoĀ
In 4x03, you could see the worry on hisĀ face when she wasĀ inside. It was more than a boss/subordinate worry, heĀ genuinely caresĀ about herĀ
Overall: 7/10 (couldĀ have been better)Ā
JJ and SpencerĀ
Would have maybe madeĀ sense if they introduced itĀ season 1-2
Didnāt make sense after she wasĀ married and had 2 kidsĀ
TheĀ confession she gave him felt forced (under theĀ circumstances, they were but still)Ā
TheĀ awkwardnessĀ after wasĀ weird, like youāre telling me the team and Will didnāt pick upĀ on it at he wedding ?
Overall: -1/10 (je*d)
Tara and DarylĀ
The moments they had were sweet afterwards like their hugĀ
They both hadĀ grownĀ a lot since their marriageĀ
It was very mature of her to be happyĀ for him after they split (sheās cool like that)Ā
Very short storylineĀ
Overall: 6/10 (they were very normal)Ā
JJ and EmilyĀ
EliteĀ
WouldĀ have a powerĀ couple if the writers hadĀ actually put themĀ together
should have confessed toĀ Spencer that she loved Emily and not himĀ
AllĀ theirĀ moments were adorableĀ
Hot moms and CoĀ parent Will (would haveĀ been so cute)Ā
Overall: 9/10 (powerĀ couple)Ā
Emily and AndrewĀ
Short storyline
Kinda pointless ?Ā
Felt super last minute and rushedĀ
Their dinner date was cuteĀ
Overall: 5/10 (they were eh, could have been written better)Ā
Luke and LisaĀ
They were cute
Again a very shortĀ storylineĀ
She was veryĀ determined to makeĀ LukeĀ talkĀ about his feelings (kindaĀ pointless ?? heād talk when he as ready)Ā
Should have called it quits afterļæ½ļæ½Phil diedĀ
Wasnāt needed to drag it along, but they did and we didnāt even see her?? They just kept mentioning herĀ
Overall: 6/10 (average couple)Ā
Luke and PenelopeĀ
AdorableĀ
Would have loved to see this storyline start earlierĀ
Maybe get to see the date ??Ā
Their little flirting/bantering was cuteĀ
There wasĀ definitelyĀ chemistry thereĀ
Overall: 8/10 (super cute)
Spencer and MaxĀ
This felt so rushedĀ
She was there for 2Ā episodesĀ
DraggingĀ herĀ intoĀ the Cat plot was shitĀ
It was nice to see himĀ happy thoĀ
Would have liked to seen her nephew again, he was funnyĀ
Overall: 5/10 (didn't really like this)Ā
Aaron and BethĀ
This was cuteĀ
They made eachĀ other happyĀ
She was good with JackĀ
Understanding about his job (unlike missĀ haley š)
Would have to seen this go somewhere elseĀ
Her taking the job inĀ Hong Kong was just a shitty end forĀ theirĀ relationshipĀ
Overall: 7/10 (could have ended better, at least she didnāt die)Ā
Rossi and CarolynĀ
This was sweetĀ
Her death was sad, it wasĀ clear he still cared about herĀ
She was onlyĀ there for like 2-3 (??) episodes
Overall: 6/10 (unproblematic but normal)Ā
Rossi and HaydenĀ
This was also cuteĀ
Joy was the only good thing from this marriage ??Ā
Them dating for like half a minute wasĀ weirdĀ
Making Rossi say that racist ass commentĀ after he was literally married toĀ beautiful woman ofĀ colourĀ was stupidĀ
Overall: 6/10 (average couple)Ā
Rossi and KrystallĀ
Loved themĀ togetherĀ
Their little sneaky links wereĀ hilariousĀ
Miss Krystall is a bad bitchĀ
Sheās super supportiveĀ
Overall: 8/10 (myĀ favourites out of Rossiās wives)Ā
Rossi andĀ Strauss
HilariousĀ together, it was cute
Rossi was always on her ass, he did what heĀ wantedĀ
Her death was kinda shitty, Rossi cared about her thoĀ
Reid and Garcia bumping into him and thenĀ seeing her was funnyĀ
Overall: 6/10 (ended badly)

Mia, episode seven
Sorry, donāt read this if you like Mia.Ā I am not a fan of hers in this episode.
1.Ā Ugh.Ā I do not like that there is no recognition here of the conversation with Kiki.Ā I donāt get it - if youāre going to have that conversation and make it feel like a wrench for Mia to āgive upā Alex, why not address it properly?Ā Even if this comes up again later, I dislike that when she arrived there was no discussion about the Kiki thing, and now itās all about sex with no recognition that she is now literally lying and going behind Kikiās back.Ā Worse, it was Mia who told Kiki she would do whatever it took to keep her friendship, so she lied about that too.Ā Iām really disappointed in where this went.Ā She didnāt have to tell Kiki she would give Alex up - they were having a really honest conversation and she could just have saidĀ āI fell for him even though I know I shouldnātā and I donāt understand why they made that choice.Ā I donāt remember the og on this at all so I donāt know if they got it from there, but even if it is in there, they could have chosen to not have Mia deliberately and specifically lie to Kikiās face and then act like she has no compunction about it at all.
2.Ā Okay so theyāre finally talking about Kiki, but Mia dismisses that withĀ āitās not about Kikiā and āI already talked to herā?Ā When that conversation literally ended differently, and now sheās lying to both Alex and Kiki?Ā Yeah, this isnāt doing it for me at all.Ā And to think, I actually did like Mia before this.Ā But the end of the last episode and the start of this one has really revised my feelings on her.Ā Itās not just Alex whoās being a dick in this situation.Ā I also donāt like that weāre supposed to be feeling sorry for Alex here because he hasĀ āproblems with his parentsā.Ā I know, assuming this is like the og, that there is a deeper thing here with the sister, but even so.Ā How on earth can they have a relationship when itās based on lies and hating each otherās family circumstances?Ā I still donāt understand what they see in each other.Ā If itās only sex, then there are SO many more people out there and nothing so far has sold me that either of them genuinely likes the other as a person.
3.Ā And yet another clip with Mia knowing sheās being an asshole and choosing not to address it.Ā I know she has this need to be in control and I know sheās doing something thatās for her for once and thatās probably both exhilarating and scary, but ugh.Ā The amount of lies is really building up.Ā Most of the other couples in our little world have communication issues etc, and many are hiding things, but actually lying on purpose like this isnāt as common and Mia is just casually throwing them out there like itās easy.Ā AlsoĀ āwhy me?āĀ ābecause you know who I amā - ummmm, no she doesnāt Alex.Ā Youāre literally hiding stuff from her as well!!Ā Unless you mean, she knows youāre an asshole and gives you the time of day anyway?Ā Plus, itās not believable - Alex clearly started stalking/pursuing/gaslighting her well before she showed that she āknewā him.Ā Ā Like itās nice that theyāre trying toĀ ācommunicateā here, but if theyāre just going to keep lying itās not actually going to help.
4.Ā I get what theyāre going for with this little bubble the two of them are in.Ā But Mia literally is avoiding her life and the more time she spends not connecting with her friends, the more likely they are to be concerned.Ā This bubble canāt last and I dislike that this whole thing is built on such a fragile and unbelievable base for them as they pretend the rest of the world doesnāt exist.Ā Itās strange that Iām okay with it with Matteo and David and their fake vs real thing, but I think itās because the issues are different and there were no specific promises to other people not to connect.Ā Keeping things private is different from lying outright.Ā Plus, neither Matteo nor David was an actual asshole and I still donāt believe that Alex isnāt the guy he showed through 1.5 seasons, and the one who was so awful to Kiki.Ā Ā
5.Ā And of course, as expected, Kiki finds out when sheās trying to do something nice for Mia.Ā And of course sheās now more hurt than she was before.Ā So, now Mia thinksĀ āI canāt do this to Kikiā?Ā Not a few days ago when Kiki was vulnerable and open with her?Ā No, it has to be now after she made things 500% worse.Ā Itās funny - I donāt usually find myself in a situation where I dislike the PoV character in these shows.Ā But here I am.Ā I actually dislike Mia in this episode.Ā I can usually get where a character is coming from even when I can see them totally stuffing up, but here sheās made conscious and deliberate choices and I donāt have any sympathy that theyāve come back to bite her.Ā I usually have some sympathy for the struggles, but not today.
6.Ā I know, from things that Iāve seen around, what this bunch of all-caps texts from Alex are about.Ā But again, Mia has no reason to know and respond the way she does.Ā It might have helped if we knew ahead of time what is going on with him, even if it was mentioned casually before maybe.Ā But instead, we have her jumping to her feet and rushing off to him for no real reason.Ā This is, again, the big problem Druck always has - pacing and making the story beats believable as an entirety rather than as discrete clips.Ā Even looking at the time for this episode - we had the entire build up and destruction of their relationship within the space of half an episode and now less than a minute later itās all back on because of this panic attack.Ā Itās too fast, no time to breathe.Ā Skam and its offshoots always work best when things are allowed to develop organically and at a pace that isnāt this rushed.Ā The clip format is half to blame for this, but even with that it should be possible to develop this whole thing at an easier pace that builds tension and makes sense.
7.Ā Pacing, pacing, pacing.Ā Ugh.Ā Just this episode Mia explained why sheās not ready for sex, and now when Alex is or has been in a vulnerable state, sheās allĀ āhey you know what would be a great idea?Ā SexāĀ Why does all this stuff all have to be in one episode?Ā Why did we need so much of Alex being an asshole at the start of the season only to cram so much of the important relationship development stuff into one short episode?Ā I know they had to cut it down from the og (thank goodness, that one was far too long), but there are ways they could have done it while letting all these plotpoints breathe a bit.Ā Itās too crammed into one episode when it didnāt have to be.
8.Ā Yes Hanna, express this stuff for me:Ā āall this happened in the last 3 days?ā Exactly.Ā Also this scene proves once again why Mia and Hanna should be a thing.Ā They have real, genuine conversations in which no-one ends up feeling belittled.Ā And they have great chemistry.Ā Seriously, Mia should have looked in this direction.Ā But honestly, in terms of pacing, Kiki finding out at the end of this episode and then this whole part being the focus of the next one would work better.Ā This whole business with Carlos is cute and all, and his advice is actually pretty decent, but again itās all so rushed.Ā Again, I know this was released clip by clip and so the format is a bit different, but it should probably also work in an episodic format.Ā I feel like Iāve lived 3 episodes all in one go and now we have the other girls showing up and being disapproving as well; itās too much.
9.Ā I donāt like that two episodes in a row (and after such a LOT in this one) we have a āMia trying to be open with Kikiā scene.Ā This excuseĀ āI wanted to protect youā is unkind and we already saw on more than one occasion how Mia protecting Kiki was a bad thing for Mia.Ā AlsoĀ āI didnāt understand that itās something serious between Alex and meā is such a huge problem for me.Ā She literally lied to Kikiās face and then went to Alex immediately afterwards.Ā So either she did know how serious it was or she didnāt really care that much and didnāt need to go back to him at all.Ā This is so frustrating because weāre supposed to accept all of this at face value when actually on any sort of consideration it doesnāt hold up.Ā So even though Kikiās little speech is really good and does highlight all the issues I have with Mia, unfortunately a) I already disliked her because of it and b) because itās all so rushed, I donāt care about any of it.Ā Except Kiki.Ā Which, considering how awful and racist etc she has been is a huge feat.Ā And effectively, Kiki has moved herself aside and allowed Mia to have Alex if she wants.Ā All of this in one episode!Ā Ā
Basically I did not enjoy this episode, there was too much crammed into it (I have this same issue with some of Noraās in s5, and it is one of the biggest issues I often have with Druck compared to the og) and so while Kikiās speech should have been a turning point allowing us to see a way into Miaās future, I am actually left disliking our main character and not all that inclined to watch the rest of the season.Ā Ā
#mia- episode 7#update on feelings about Alex - still not a fan#but surprising rn I like him more than I do Mia#so there's a warning - don't read if you like her#I don't have much nice to say about her

youāve talked a little bit about this wrt dan, but iām curious: what are your favorite seasons/arcs for the main gg characters? (serena, blair, dan, nate, jenny, vanessa) cause everyoneās personalities tended to uh, shift a bit from season to season and storyline to storyline, and iām wondering which eras of those characters were your favorite?
oh, so i sat on this question for a very long time, and spent a ton of time thinking over it. here we go!Ā
i loved the wayĀ serenaĀ was written in s1 and s2. she was so full of joy despite all the difficult things sheād endured, so bubbly and warm and... lively is ALWAYS the adjective that comes to mind for serena, despite how itās a terrible pun. but yeah! she had an energy to her that was very childlike & genuine, and i loved that about her - despite the things sheād endured, she was so full of light (?? how do i describe this.) i know that serenaās arc gets notably more tragic s3 onwards, but i feel like the way she was written lost a bit of depth s3 onwards as well. she had a sharp wit, and a good sense of humour, she was playful and... most notably, she had this little giggle? that she literally NEVER does in the later seasons, which makes me sad?? she stopped laughing like a child at the age of, what, 19?? idk. in s1 & s2 serena had so many layers, and i feel like as the seasons went on they tried to, uh. keep only the surface layers? they didnāt really do justice to the character they started out with.
my answer forĀ vanessaĀ is actually the exact same, with slight modifications. vanessaās energy in s1 and s2 was unparalleled. literally the best. i loved her and the way she was critical of everything and YET so ready to learn. compared to all these rich, privileged, white people... her presence was just SO good and so important to me, because the way she was so critical of the uber rich was something nobody else really was, and i think that perspective WAS valuable and shouldāve remained, haha. idk what it was about s3, but i feel like they didnāt keep the crux of who vanessa was? it wasnāt a BAD vanessa season as much as an incomplete one. i felt they couldāve done so much more with a character like vanessa.... sheās so vibrant and full of life! and the way s3 was for her was very surface. and then in s4 they just demolished her character entirely. iāve said it before, iāll say it again: what jenny, juliet and vanessa did in 4x09 was TOTALLY out of character for vanessa. she would never,Ā everĀ do that. and by the time s4 came around... someone else said this, i donāt remember who. but they said that vanessa was basically being used as a plot device more than as a character. notice how sheās always in the right place at the right time to overhear the right thing? itās a travesty, because vanessa was just..... so significant to me. like her being there added so much value & even changed the tone of the show imo.
myĀ blairĀ feelings are very complicated. i think sheās fascinating, and i love leighton & her performance. i love book blair so much more than show blair, and idk why or how to explain it. i mentioned this inĀ that post where i ranked the characters, but while watching blair in high school specifically i canāt EVER forget that she would probably hatecrime me, and even when sheās out of school she is still supremely racist at times. i actually liked blair best in s5 - and i know she was going thru ~tragic~ stuff (i think they dialled the tragedy too high actually, like, blair had TOO MUCH on her plate and from a storytelling point of view it was... ambitious, to say the least, to hope to bring all out of that out on tv) but like, keeping her tragedy aside. her capacity for kindness and care really shone thru while she was with dan, and i liked how the d/b relationship took her out of her comfort zone and herĀ ābut im a Waldorf!ā bubble and let her, idk, be a person. i liked her in s4, too. i feel like blair is a really good, nuanced, fleshed out character as blair, and the way she clung to being a waldorf combined with her rich-white-girl privilege got kind of boring after a while because like. sheās not like louis? her character has so much depth. her character doesnāt need to be reduced to a title, because sheās SO much more than that.
i feel like i need to do a lot more rewatching when it comes to dan because i CANNOT be objective about him. he reminds me far too much of myself!!! down to his flaws and his mistakes and his issues ā Ā i was a precocious little shit in high school at times in very similar ways to dan, i like to think iāve grown out of that (& am perpetually making an effort TO grow out of falling into those patterns) & thatās what i want for dan, too. danās arc feels real to me, because a lot of it is my arc, too. feeling lonely, out of place & unaccepted in high school --> being a popular kid in collegeā¦ that hits really close to home. s1 & s2 are important seasons to me because iām extremely protective of awkward, trying-his-best high school dan (he can be awful at times, but he can be earnest and sincere, too!) i feel like s4 is actually the best dan season ā took me a while to get here, but halfway thru my s2 rewatch thatās how iām leaning. but danās arc was very interesting to me, and i wish theyād kept his heart. trying to retcon him as evil fell absolutely flat to me, like. who are you convincing! one of my friends and i were joking about how georgie blackmailed dan into pretending to be gossip girl (she obviously has dirt on him that nobody else does.) anyway. danās arc felt pretty true until the end of s4. i wasnāt a big fan of how he was written in s5, i felt like something had been taken away from his character, but i donāt know how to say it better. youāre right though, i have gone over this a lot! so iām not going to break my head over it, ācause weāre already a thousand words in and i still have nate and jenny to go.
speaking of jenny, though: i think danās storylines REALLY needed more of a big brother arc. the way he was characterised, especially in s1, was very āi would kill a man for my baby sisterā and i have NO idea where that went or why they got rid of it. (actually, i do have some idea. fucking chip wiskers apologism & elevation of chair over literally anything else. sigh)
okay, now speaking of jenny in terms of jenny. i liked her s1 arc, like, her trying to make friends with these people & trying to keep her morals and realising she canāt do both was interesting. i think that shouldāve been that with her clashes with girls in constance, though. and afterwards, either nothing happens, or she transfers out of constance, etc. jennyās s2 arc makes me sad ā she was exploited and treated like dirt in so many ways :( the jenny/agnes was interesting in s2, though, and thereās no way to interpret it that ISNāT lesbian. iāve always felt like jennyās feelings for nate in s2 are very comphet. jennyās s3 arc made me even sadder than her s2 arc- she was alienating all her friends one by one, making everyone hate her, and justā¦ā¦ spiralling. she really needed a better support system. her s4 arc made no sense. like. why did she come back in the city to fuck with serena like that? it didnāt feel right.
yeah, all that saidā¦ i feel like there are many super intriguing elements of jennyās storylines and arcs, like, even within canon events if things had been executed differently, it couldāve been actually good/empowering. but the writers hated jenny. and this show was never a feminist show.
ah, soā¦ nate. he started out as a flake in s1 & s2. thatās his whole thing. he doesnāt know who he wants to be / how to get what he wants / how to get where he wants. he takes people for granted. he isnāt dependable or reliable, he lets people down (most notably, blair & vanessa.) and he means well, sure! but his life is like amber and heās trapped in it. he doesnāt follow his heart, heās too busy trying to please the wrong people, etc etc. in s3 heās suddenly so ready for commitment, which always breaks my heart because vanessa!!! but anyway. s3 has a shift in his character, possibly him getting dumped at prom and realising that high school is over and one thing that tethered him to his family (being a kid, being a high schooler, being a minor, whatever) ā Ā one big thing that held him there is gone. so it makes sense that he starts trying to be his own person. i like s3 nate, and s4 nate. we see nate sort of gradually try and be a moral compass, and itās interesting to me. when i write d/n fic something i really focus on is dan finding nate dependable, and i think thatās a value that builds in nate over time. nate of season 1 is not dependable, nope, no way. but nate of s4 seems like a decent friend to have. in s5 and s6 they more or less threw his entire arc to the wind and gave him so many shitty storylines (sage spence, wtf? nate would not do this. heās been on the opposite end of this before, he would not carry the pattern forward, ffs.)
idk. this almost hit 1.7k, LMAO. i hope it made some amount of sense!

GENEVIEVE ALIU ā
IG info/bio: @/genevealiu1 | 19k followers | currently on a journey as a junior doctor living in š¦šŗš¤ | blm.card.coš¤ | skš
26 years of age
Born and raised in Glastonbury, England
Pisces sun? + libra moon?
Mother is Guyanese and works for a non-profit organization
Her father is Nigerian and works in property management
has one older brother who is a Prosthetist and resides in Nigeria with his pregnant fiancƩe
She canāt wait to be a auntie!!!
And a younger sister who is a medical laboratory technician
To say the least, their parents were happy that their children fell into the medical field. Based on their cultures it was a honor to have their children in these professions
Vieve grew up with a sassy demeanor and her parents have old videos on their camcorders to prove it lol, it never fails that the pair brings out the embarrassing vids during the holidays but vieve genuinely appreciates them ļæ¼
Although thanksgiving is a RACIST American thing, vieve never misses the opportunity to share what sheās thankful for in life and counts all of it as blessings! But itās still fuck the pilgrims
Has held a friendsgiving before, loves any moment where she can host gatherings or attend them! either is quite fine. She loves being around people
the only time she likes to look back on the past is to see how she and her family carried themselves then and how the evolved into who they are now, itās interesting to see
Loves āhow it started vs how itās goingā posts and might have participated in a few
Always knew from a young age that she wanted to help people in some way, she was always doing something to help around the house and especially her aging/sickly grandparents
Felt offended that many people around school that she thought were her friends would stab her in the back labeling her as this āfake saintā since she rather spend her time volunteering instead of going to house parties in hs
Donāt get it twisted, she still went to those too & had her fun but definitely felt like it was the same routine and nothing ever felt fulfilling at these functions after awhile
Well known with all the cliques around school but had her own group of friends that fit into many of those cliques but she never felt obligated to stick to one social group. If you were nice and cool with her, she was the same to you, if you werenāt? Depending on her mood, sheād ignore you/say things under her breath or be āfake niceā as a form of being the bigger person
Has a curly hair routine that she consistently follows (after struggling to find the right products to make them flourish) and gets annoyed with if her curls donāt turn out the way she knows they can, itās always frustrating when things donāt turn out the way you want them to but isnāt afraid to at least try
Three times is the charm! Is one of her mottos
loves bright colors, flowy attire, big hats, brimmed hats, bucket hats, berets, etc...
Has faced racism/prejudices and bullying growing up in public spacesāmostly school/uni & some of those same hatred actions online now that sheās dating seb
Because of that there were times where she felt insecure but deff grew to forgive, heal, and rise above the hate, she knows her worth
Has never been happier in a relationship than she is with seb, heās her āmoody long-haired, soft-hearted bbyā
theyāre both complete fools for each other and vieve is more vocal about her being in love/finding her soulmate whereas seb doesnāt mind showing it rather than speaking itāeven tho heās on a podcast but we mind our business okay?!
Seb is thinking of moving to Australia with vieve, heās ready to risk it all for this woman, HIS woman š¤©
canon: gives more than she should/taken advantage of/not reciprocating in relationships... ex) how she dated a guy that she did everything for! especially financially and also struggled to find her worth but once she did? Her aura shined brighter than beforeā Ik chill out there Rocco
Also believes in loving yourself first to attract what you need in this world and found that in her career and seb. I hope theyāre endgame! Since theyāre the only couple I rooted for this season? Except for tai & ciaran maybe? Theyāre probably not endgame but whatever
They still get nervous/shy around each other even tho theyāve been together for months now + are in a long distance relationship which is too cute! I think since theyāre in this for the long game they can look back on moments and still feel the way they felt in that moment. You know if you get the chance or have already heard elderly people talk about their relationships and how they get all starry eyed? Thatās vieve & seb, that shit gets me right in my feels ew
Vieveās love language is quality time, itās what she shows and likes along with acts of service from her partner
Makes the best jollof rice & her fav dish is Metemgee
Trying to be on a plant-based diet only but will have her cheat days on occasionāmostly when sheās drunk and forgets her diet plan lmao thatās me getting double cheeseburgers or anything with dairy drunk af
now living in Australia, she tried to like vegemite but...the itās a no for her, respectfully ofc! She never wants to disrespect anyone
besides the food, the atmosphere is much nicer since she feels like sheās on a holiday almost everyday and that thereās much more to see and do when she has the time
Loves the beaches and is thinking about surfing lessons
yes she enjoys those doctor shows and can agree that most scenarios are not the same as rl ofc but great question!
Since sheās a junior doctor now, and on her way to graduation! She feels so accomplished and having this chance to complete what sheās wanted her whole life in a different place, makes her super emotional
All those stressful all-nighters will be worth it. She mostly did it on her own but is nothing but humble and Is thankful to those that have helped her along the way, what kind of person would she be if she didnāt mention them?
and when COVID hit, she was one of many already on the frontlines. Her studies became altered but this wouldnāt stop her for her mission on this earth, this was her purpose and she knew we would conquer it allābut definitely has empathy and gets angry with how itās being handled from time to time
Sheās been exposed to it first hand which aboustely worries her parents, seb, her friends, and friends from the villa
Keeps up to date when all medical news, has a whole app dedicated to health
Learning French with some of her free time and is doing well at it
It was only natural for her to become closer to elladine since their men are homies and have a podcast together
Theyāve hung out a few times on a double dates before the boat vacation & once just as girls before vieve left to Australia
Vieve is always offering advice but knows that every relationship is different and what works for her and seb wonāt work for elladine and Nicky, she loves them together and knows everyone has bumps in the road
feels thereās some sort of tension between her and Harry now? Which she found a little off putting since they were supposed to be friends but she realizes that Harry has a condition but itās also not an excuse for him to treat her shitty sometimes which he does and feels like it comes out of nowhere most times but he always apologizes yet vieve is slowly getting tired of this unhealthy habits
So theyāre talking less these days, which he notices!
She wants Harry to find his happiness too! If he hasnāt found it in mc first that is
has met Timā heās a great laugh and seems like a nice guyāthey follow each other, talia and jake in person when she was out with sebāthey were also super nice and congratulated them on their win, she went up to miles once on a night outāheās still a arsehole, priya reached out to her via dm about her new boutique that she wanted her to model in someday, Hope was just as stunning in person along with Siobhan, Chelsea & mc s2 were also kind, and a couple of the guys also wished her and seb well
Sheās also noticed some of the shit talking coming from Elisa, Allegra, Lucy, and mc s1 (subtle shade from mc, basically about how vieve reacted if mc decided to give Harry a go but that was only brought to her attention thru fans) online but again, vieve peeped it and felt majority of it didnāt require a response. She was too happy in life rn and she had a man and they donāt
Plans to get a komondor, thinks theyāre super cute! ā seb does not āif you love me, youāll love our child.ā āItās a bloody mop dog! And Iām a cat dad, you know that!ā āDonāt talk about him like that, heās got feelings just like your cat babies!ā
I feel like sheās a matcha & Frappuccino lover, tries to keep her drinks simple and feels guilty when she has to make adjustments but the heart wants what it wants
Mini Countryman owner, she also drives like a āgrannyā better safe than sorry! She hates fast drivers, thereās absolutely no need for it!
Minimal makeup: eyeshadow, moisturizer, & a nude lip and sheās good to go
Secretly obsessed with among us, second life, and SIMS!!!
Celeb crushes? Heath ledger, Tyler posey, KENDRICK SAMPSON, Jordan fisher, Algee smith, Donald Glover, Mack Wilds, Khleo Thomas, Robert Riāchard, Tahj Mowry, & Hasan Minhaj
Listens to: DaniLeigh, ABIR, Mary J. Blige, TORI KELLY, Us the duo, 11:11, Jacob Latimore, fifth harmony, joya mooi, & Greentea Peng, etc...
Anthem: The Cheetah Girls ā Cinderella

Rant about Big Bang Theory (Mainly Leonard) Super long post I don't know how to add the continue reading thing.
I have been re-watching this show these past 2 weeks and I am currently on season 7. While I did know that the show had some.....problematic elements, dear god did I forgot how bad it could get.
Leonard I think is the worst character just because as the show progresses he seems to get worse and worse. So many times I wanted Penny to just run away and never interact with him again. If a man who isn't in the group goes anywhere near her Leonard goes "OH KNOW WHAT IF SHE LEAVES ME?!?! WHAT IF SHE IS SCREWING HIM RIGHT NOW?!?!?"
I understand that Leonard's mother mentally abused him but still he is such a annoying, manipulative, borderline misogynistic prick. He does not deserve Penny. She could do so much better then him. Also if 1 of his friends starts acting creepy towards her or towards any women he never really does anything to stop it.
Howard at the very least gets a small redemption ark, he towns down the perverted jokes, now mainly using them on his wife or to make fun of his friends sex lives. Still not great but compared to his borderline predatory behaviour in the early seasons it is amazing. To be honest at the moment I have a soft spot for him because his mother's death is coming soon and I just lost my grandmother. Granted his relationship with his mother was toxic to say the least, she was not the worst mother of the show. I know that when the episodes dealing with her death arrive I am going to cry because they actually died the same way, They fell asleep and never woke up.
Raj.......what can I say about Raj? He bears the brunt of the racist humour and the homophobic humour (Howard has some phobic humour thrown his way too but not as much.) I was always hoping that he would come out as bisexual and the show would end with him having a boyfriend but no he just got drunk and perverted until he didn't need booze to talk to women anymore. After that the gay humour got rammed up a few notches with the guys often making fun of his habits that are deemed "Stereotypically feminine."
Amy pretty quickly went from being a female Sheldon to actually being her own person which was great. There were often times that she made me what to scream but that is mainly because of my protectiveness towards Sheldon. Amy also has kind of homophobic humour thrown her way due to her very obvious attraction to Penny. She tends to be annoying but her genuine love for Sheldon and watching her come out of her shell was really nice.
Bernadet is adorable looking and is one of the best characters of the show...but like all the others she has issues. The same one that all the girls of the show share actually which is that she makes fun of the guys hobbies, interests and refers to it as childish and stupid. Other then that i can't really fault her on anything.
Penny was just.....so great but so bad at the same time. She was pretty much the first character that I honestly thought cared for Sheldon. But they make her a alcoholic as the show progresses. Also this isn't her fault but I hate how they made her pregnant at the end of the show. She has stated multiple times that she wasn't ready for kids and/or never wanted kids. But no the people making the show decided to give her a baby. Also she should of never stayed together with Leonard because he was just terrible towards her. At least she was nice to everyone within reason and for most of the other characters she would only put up with so much before snapping at them.
Sheldon the narcissistic, selfish, egotistical, adorable, sensitive annoying brat. A lot of conflicts happened in the show because of him but at the same time a bunch of them weren't his fault. The show could not figure out if they wanted to portray him as a animatronic humanoid that didn't feel emotion or as a over-emotional child trapped in a grown man's body. It made for some of the best moments of the show and some of the worst. I will never understand how anyone had the thought of "Let's make Sheldon kinda racist." Why?!?!?! JUST WHY??!?!? "Sheldon doesn't understand social cues" Shut the fuck up he is smart enough to know when something is clearly RACIST. I love him though, I am just so protective of him and I don't know why. Maybe it's because we have a lot of similar quirks, food must be done a certain way, can't understand social cues very well, hyper fixations and a lot more.
Final thoughts on the show? It can be super funny, super heartwarming and super sad but also super cringy, super sexist and super phobic of just about everything.
8/10 would recommend but only if you can handle outdated humour.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Truth (1x05)
Well, okay then.
Cons:
I've complained about the uneven time given to Sam and Bucky, and while I appreciate where this episode went with everything, it did shine a further light on how little Sam has had to do all season. How his growth has been happening in the background to other things. I wish the balance could have been changed a little.
I also continue to be less interested in the Flag Smashers than I am in anything else in the show. Not the ideology or how they function politically in this world, but the actual individual characters. Spending time getting to know them makes sense, it humanizes their struggles and what they're willing to sacrifice for their cause. But I just don't find Karli to be a particularly compelling individual, so it makes those scenes a slough to get through.
The opening fight scene between Sam, Bucky, and John Walker was good, but it wasn't great. The whole time I was watching it I kept thinking about the Tony/Steve/Bucky fight at the end of Civil War, three men fighting, the shield pinging between them. So much angst and desperation and history and weightĀ to the whole thing. This fight should have been like that, but instead it felt a little more measured. Sam and Bucky are fighting to take the shield away from a dangerous man who has clearly lost control. It almost felt like they were just doing a job. Their connection to the shield was muted during the fight itself, which made that final beat, when Bucky throws the shield down at Sam's side and walks off, hit a little less hard.
And that's one other thing - I lovedĀ the Sam and Bucky talk, of course I did. Bucky needed to apologize and it was great to see. But what changed Bucky's mind? We see Sam's journey, but Bucky starts the episode still in that mindset of blaming Sam, and then he comes and helps with the boat, and then he apologizes. What made him realize that he needed to adjust his perspective? I wish I could have understood that a bit more. The only scene we get of him on his own is with Zemo, and that bit of closure seems wholly disconnected to the stuff with the shield.
Pros:
This is a small thing, but I've gotta bring it up: when Bucky is apologizing to Sam, he says "when Steve told me what he was planning"... and when I tell you I screamed... this is literally so important to me. I hate the end of EndgameĀ for Steve. I truly do. The one thing that makes it bearable is the head-canon that he cleared it with Bucky first, that Bucky knew, before Steve left to go return the stones, what he was going to do. And now we have actual canon confirmation that that was the case! I am so incredibly moved by that, I can't even tell you.
But let's talk about that whole scene, shall we? I feel like I could ramble on about it for quite some time, but I'll just say that seeing them throw the shield around like a damn football was so... funny? But also sweet? There's something here about men and how they communicate and how hard it can be to break down the walls and be vulnerable. They manage it because they frame it around a physical activity, with the shared symbol of complicated national loyalties bouncing around between them. Also, the shared symbol of their dead friend Steve. It opens up something between them, allowing Sam to give his "tough love" advice. Allowing Bucky to give a heartfelt apology. It's the stuff they never would have said to each other in that therapy session, but they can say it now, and that's beautiful. The best moment for me, and it was really subtle, was Bucky handing the shield to Sam, saying sorry. Then Sam continues to throw it against the trees and let it bounce back, and he does it specifically so Bucky can catch it again. So there's this almost ceremonial hand-off, and then Sam, magnanimous, lets Bucky know it's still a part of him too.
And Bucky talking about the shield as his family? Yes please. I love it so much. This scene really wrapped up Bucky's arc for me on this show, in a way I hadn't known to expect. Sam tells him that Steve is gone, and that it doesn't matter what Steve thought, or what he meant. Bucky needs to stop defining himself solely by other people. This doesn't mean the struggle is over. Bucky's got a long road ahead. But he understands that road now, and Sam helped him to find his way, which I think is just the loveliest thing.
Another thing about the way these men communicate, is that the apology was necessary, and it was good that it happened, but even beforeĀ that apology, Bucky showed up and helped with the boat. He fished for an invite to stay, and Sam gave it without question. They joke about being "partners", no, "co-workers," "just two guys who had a mutual friend," but the fact is, they're a part of each other's lives, and they come through for each other. Even with lingering resentments.
I'll talk briefly about Zemo here before we get into the Sam stuff in this episode... I kind of love that he went gently with the Wakandans. It was so different from what I expected, and yet it also followed logically from everything we knew about him from Civil War. It felt like a natural button to his arc on this show. And him telling Bucky that there's no resentment on his end... I mean, on the one hand, I sure as fuck would hope not, given what Zemo tried to do to Bucky. But also that's the point, isn't it? Sam says as much during the tough love speech. Bucky needs to make amends by being of service, by giving closure to the people he hurt as the Winter Solider. Even if they were bad people. Even if they don't "deserve" it.
I still worry about the optics of Sam taking on the shield instead of retiring it permanently. But I was impressed by how far the show was willing to go in explaining the weight of that choice. Isaiah doesn't say some party line like "I love America but these were some bad people." He doesn't say "things were bad then but they're better now." No. He says the truth, which is that America did this to him. It wasn't one bad actor sneaking through an otherwise benevolent system. It was a corrosive, systemic issue that ruined his life, separated him from his loved ones, forced him to hide away and live as a dead man. And he's telling Sam that it's still like that. Oh, sure, things have changed. But not as much as they need to, and not in the ways that really count for a lot, a lotĀ of people.
I respect that the show laid this out, didn't pull its punches in stating this reality. Sam is being positioned as perhaps naĆÆve, overly optimistic, in still wanting to take that pain and make something good from it. Overly optimistic? Willing to jump into situations that are too big for any one man to manage, no matter what? Well, if there's a list of qualifiers for Captain America, I'd say Sam fits the bill just as much, if not more, than Steve did.
And we see that Sam has a community, a history, a deep connection to his sister and his nephews and all the people his parents knew back in the day. I'm a sucker for a good moment like the one we got with the boat, everyone turning up to help. And then Sarah saying that they can't sell it after all... it's just so moving. Sam's fighting the big fights and the small ones, and that makes him worthy of being an exemplar of human excellence. If he wants to fight that fight while holding the shield, I would trust him to try and turn the symbol into something worthy.
Briefly, I want to talk about Lemar. That scene where John went to his parents was really interesting, because it showed that opinions on these very serious issues are by no means shared universally. You've got Isaiah saying that no black man with any self respect would ever take up the shield. Then you've got Lemar's parents saying how proud their son was to be Captain America's partner. It's a lot more complicated than people want to make it. Things would be simpler if we all agreed that America sucks and its history and legacy is negative and racist and therefore let's burn the whole thing to the ground. But there are a lot of people, a lot of black Americans, who like being Americans, who are proudĀ to serve their country. It's not an attitude I know how to understand, but pretending it doesn't exist isn't doing anyone any favors. I like that we saw this aspect of it, too.
A couple last tidbits, moments I really enjoyed.
- Bucky flirting with Sarah.
- Sam's nephews playing with the shield, Bucky waking up and smiling at the sight.
- The super relevant, super hard to hear scene at the end of all the government officials getting ready to round up refugees and march them back across borders... like, damn.
- Bucky forgetting he has a metal arm, but then later using it to save Sam some trouble on the boat.
This was a great episode. Do I have qualms about the arc of the series as a whole? Yes I do. I'll be very curious to see where everything lands in next week's finale. But in all, this one was a winner in my books.
9/10

I rewatched the second season of South Park and took so many notes that I had to split them into two parts. Like seriously, I took so. many. notes. And pictures this time. I started rewatching just in case Iād find some cool little facts to sprinkle into my fanfic but I went way too far and now thereās a million facts under this cut (including gay stan, a domestic violence psa, and craig fucking dying)
Stan doesnāt like hospitals, he finds them gross and he gets sick š¤®. Also the hospital in South Park is called Hellās Pass hospital. Early seasons have the name as Hells Pass but it gets fixed later
Cartman has to sing all of Come Sailing Away by Styx if he hears a part of it. After he says this, Kyle sings the first part and Cartman has to sing the rest. Kyle does it again later, which is kinda mean
Cartmanās mom tries to abort Cartman, who is an eight-year-old child and thus cannot be legally aborted. Later, after she slept with Bill Clinton to change the law and make 40th trimester abortions legal, it turns out she meant adoption
Kenny sacrifices himself to turn on the generator to the hospital and save Dr. Mephestoās life along with others. He says āIāll fucking do itā then does it and dies, absolute legend
Cartman gets way too into his deputy role. He goes undercover, pretends to be a prostitute, says āRespect my authoritah!ā a lot and beats people up with his police stick
Kennyās brother first appears when Cartman responds to a call about a disturbance at Kennyās house. Apparently there are like 10 adult family members in the house at that time. Kennyās dad has a black eye because Kennyās mom punched him. She says he canāt hold a job
Token sits in the classroom in season 2
Cartman starts hating hippies in this season, like a lot
Chef tells the boys that the right time to do drugs is in college
Ikeās name is Ike Moisha Broflovski and he was born in 1996, making him 2 years old in 1998 when this season aired
This is probably obvious but yeah Kyle and Ike are circumcised
Kyle says family isnāt just blood, itās who you care about, and he says āThatās why you guys are more than just friends, youāre my family. Except for Cartman.ā
Craigās finally sitting in the classroom in S02E04
None of the boys like dodgeball
Clyde gets a dodgeball to the face and he cries :( and heās the only one who cries by the way
Pip throws a dodgeball in Kyleās face and breaks Kyleās nose
When Kyleās mom tells the boys about conjoined twin myslexia (which isnāt a real term) and says anyone mightāve absorbed their dead twin in the womb, Stan and Cartman run away screaming but Kenny and Kyle stay to listen. Kenny even leans in to look at the book āFreaks A-Z!ā that Mrs. Broflovski is reading from, and when she leaves, Kyle grimaces and Kenny laughs
Stanās mom (Sharon) calls Kyleās mom (Sheila) when Stan is all freaked out and trying to put an icepick through his brain, and Sharon tells Sheila to get run over by a truck. Sharon is pretty mean in these early episodes
Mr. Broflovski doesnāt really listen to what Mrs. Broflovski is saying, bad husband >:(
South Parkās team is always called South Park Cows no matter the sport
The school nurse, Nurse Gollum, went to Colorado State University
I just realized Butters exists. I think he appeared before S02E05 but I didnāt notice but yeah heās there with the dodgeball team, injured
Hereās a picture to make up for my disgusting anti-Butters bias
Kennyās dodgeball uniform number is 69 obviously. Kyle is 7, Stan is 4, Cartman is 325
Sheila smacks Gerald in the face so hard he falls off his chair, lots of violence perpetrated by women in this show. Remember, donāt do domestic violence no matter your gender, itās not cool
I realized after this whole Butters thing that I shouldāve made more notes about Pip, so Iāll make a note about his anger issues now. When people call him French, he gets angry and throws dodgeballs at them
The boys launch a jelly roll at Ms. Crabtree and make her crash the bus. They do it just for fun
The kids somehow go to China in the school bus
Cartman references Moby Dick, but he probably doesnāt know what heās talking about
Kevin Stoley gets named in S02E05 and has his first speaking role when he says he has Chinese parents and after Cartman hears it he immediately says something racist. smh cartman, what a problematic fave
Cartman says āI love you guys šā but Stan and Kyle just stare at him and he goes š āEh, screw you guys š ā
If Jimbo and Ned really fought in Vietnam, they youngest they couldāve been in 1998 is early forties, which means in the latest seasons they would be early sixties. Btw they met in Vietman
Jesus and Pals is a recurring TV show in seasons 1 and 2. Jesus just kind of lives in South Park
I just remembered that Terrance and Phillip are really old in canon, itās so weird, like how can South Park canon still be changing, itās been 20 years
Also the early seasons are casually racist who knew
Kenny flashes his ass on a tape the boys send to Jimbo and Nedās TV show, which airs and at least 12 people see Kennyās bare naked ass
Cartman really doesnāt like hippies in these early seasons. He throws a chair at Ned and yells, āTake that, hippie!ā (Ned is in a catatonic state and did nothing to provoke this)
Jimbo and Ned live together I guess. Jimboās gonna take Ned home and show him some hardcore porn to snap him out of his catatonic state, good husband unlike Gerald Broflovski
Saddam Hussein is in hell and has a Canadian accent and is Satanās lover in S02E06, I guess he died in Canada in the first episode this season but I wasnāt paying much attention since thatās the Terrance and Phillip episode that pissed a bunch of people off in 1998 because the audience wanted to know who Cartmanās dad is instead. It was kind of a boring episode so I understand why everyone was pissed, but it is funny that Matt and Trey did that so Iām not mad about it
Aww look at them!!! Weāve got background Style, the vaguest inkling of Crenny, and Cartman/Cake
Iād take more screenshots but itās a pain since Iām watching legally and stupid legal websites block screenshots so I have to find youtube videos instead ughhhh piracy is the answer kids
Apparently thereās a huge waterfall and canyon somewhere close to South Park, maybe? At least in Stanās dream
Mary Kay Bergman was an incredible voice actor. How the hell did she voice all the moms, Wendy, Shelly, principle Victoria, the mayor, Nurse Gollum, and fucking Ms. Crabtree??? Holy shit what a queen
Kenny has some feelings about death. He reimagines the episode where death boops him to death and in his version, he beats death the fuck up, then has ice cream and is happy š But again, this is in Stanās dream
S02E07 kind of establishes that nobody remembers Kenny dying because when Cartman tells a story where Kenny dies, Kyle questions how Kenny couldāve died then when he also died just a few hours ago when a giant monster took him
rip craig, he falls out the bus and into a canyon
But itās okay because it was all Stanās dream so everything in the episode is questionable. Everything after this is no longer a dream
Pipās parents are dead and he has to go to summer school while everyone else is having a nice summer break
Officer Barbrady and the mayor are having sexual relations, Iām sure this is the most interesting note Iāve made so far. Idk Iām just writing everything down, this is how I enjoy things, I have no off switch
Ew summer bus stop, cursed
Kyle casually sings little tunes every once in a while, how cute
This is pretty obvious but Kenny likes dirty jokes, he laughs when Cartman innocently says he loves Chefās salty chocolate balls (which are chocolate candy). Nobody else laughs
Cartman says āScrew you guys, Iām going homeā or variations of it a lot in this season
So Stan throws up when he likes someone, right? Well, heās watching an indie movie about two gay cowboys who start making out and he throws up, which is either a terrible homophobic joke or confirmation that Stanās a little gay. I know which one I prefer
Kyle says Mr. Hankey is his best friend after Stan. Like I know itās definitely canon that Stan and Kyle are best friends but itās still nice to see confirmation, itās very precious. Also Kyle is best friends with literal shit, so cute š
Kenny deaths:
S02E02 Kenny sacrifices himself by connecting a generator wire, which electrocutes him but brings power back to a hospital
S02E03 A tree falls on Kenny and crushes him
S02E04 Kenny falls in a grave and the gravestone falls on him
S02E05 The Chinese dodgeball team throws a ball at Kenny and he gets splattered against a wall
S02E06 Two guys pull on Kenny and tear him in half, as in one has the head and one has the legs
S02E07 A big scary monster plucks Kenny out of the school bus and carries him away. Also in Cartmanās fake memory of Fonzi jumping over cars, the motorcycle hits Kenny and crushes him against a brick wall. Kenny gets smashed against walls a lot, doesnāt he?
S02E08 Flashback: Baby Kenny has a firecracker and it explodes, sprinkling little baby Kenny parts everywhere. Later in the episode, current day Kenny dies when a giant firework snake bumps him off a stage and under a fence, which then crushes him.
S02E09 Kenny is playing with a yoyo outside a movie theatre when a bunch of people come outside and trample him to death. They say āOh my God, I found a penny!ā and āYou bastard!ā
Iāll post part 2 of season 2 in a couple days. Iām having way more fun writing these stupid notes than I thought I would (also gnomes is coming up soon and i am fucking ready for tweek)
#south park#sp rewatch#i thought i made way too many notes last time#oh boy#also sorry for my anti butters bias showing#i completely forgot to take notes about him until episode 5#oops

The 100 rant
Underrated characters that deserved better
Kyle Wick
- Kyle was introduced in season one and came down with the Ark as an engineer
- I loved his relationship with raven so much
- the whole frenemies to lovers thing was amazing
- I understand why they took him off the show after season two
- the actor was being racist on twitter
- but I personally wouldn't mind if they just recasted him for season three
- he had so much potential
Wells Jaha
- he was actually such a good character and such a sweetheart
- he was so in love with clarke and was literally ready to do anything for her
- he was extremely loyal
- and I personally think we deserved the original book love triangle to happen with wells x clarke x bellamy
- like those are my favorite ships: enemies to lovers and best friends to lovers
- if he lived, there's also a big chance finn and clarke wouldn't happen
- jason basically did him dirty
Emori
- she doesn't get enough love
- firstly: she changed john for better and makes him a huge softy that doesn't care just about himself anymore
- second: she's a grounder who went to space and survived the end of the world with five people she didn't even know that well and with the love of her life just for them to become a big happy family
- flew herself and her family down to Earth all by herself
Echo kom Azgeda
- she gets too much hate just for dating a guy
- I personally don't ship becho and think it was pretty much one-sided and only happened because clarke wasn't there
- and I think that post-primfaya bellamy doesn't deserve her
- she had a rough life that she dedicated fully to her people and her king
- who I actually shipped her with but that's not the point
- then after losing her king who banished her she well in love with a guy that I don't think even treated her like she deserved and lost him too
- and after losing him, she did everything she could just to protect his sister who banished her too just because she knew bellamy would probably do the same
Monty Green
- my baby deserves nothing but love
- "That up there, that's gonna save us all"
- first he lost his father and practically had to kill his mom
- then he watched his beat friend/brother die in front of him
- almost had the love of his life die too
- he put all of his friend to sleep and only stay awake with harper
- just so he can search for a solution to save all of them
- ends up putting his son to sleep so he could actually live after he wakes up and then watched his wife die
