Okay okay okay consider Durgetash tether AU
Gortash & Durge are messing around with an artifact (from Mephistopheles’ vault?) and it ends up tethering them together (like Legend of Spyro- they can only move so far away from each other and the tether isn’t visible unless it’s actively being strained or interacted with)
They can’t figure out how to deactivate it, antics ensue (they can’t hurt each other while it’s active?)
Gortash has to put up with Durge being present in all of his meetings and just praying to god they behave themselves and don’t try to maim anybody/that nobody takes too much interest in their presence
There’s also the Urge- Gortash knows about it but now he actively has to help in dealing with it- whether that be going on murder sprees far too often for his liking or finding out the unfortunate consequences of neglecting it
Them getting weirdly close and open because they kind of have to be to function
Neither of them have easy access into their respective cult spaces/temples anymore- bringing a Banite into Bhaal’s temple is basically a heresy.
That being said, Durge can only stay away for so long before it’s problematic- it looks bad when they’ve been missing for a week and the last time they were seen was with Gortash.
Jump cut to Durge forcing Gortash to wear normal cultist attire and telling him to keep his mouth shut lest somebody recognize his voice.
Something about Orin cornering Durge and asking where they’ve been before realizing there’s a ‘cultist’ just. Standing there. Djdjdjjdjdjd Naturally she threatens to kill him if he doesn’t leave and Durge has to hurry up and make excuses and then probably run away with Gortash before Orin can clock that it’s him
Sceleritas is one of the only people who knows the situation and is tirelessly searching for a solution so that his “beloved Durge can be free of their greasy leach”
Something something people clocking that it’s weird that they’re always so close to each other (gonna say they can’t be more than 10 feet apart)- more so at places like Moonrise where nobody knows who Durge really is and want to know who it is that’s following Gortash around
Gortash having to deal with the gnolls because Durge refuses to leave them alone
Also Durge getting somewhat familiarized with mechanics and learning how they work
Ketheric genuinely not knowing that they’re tethered together for entirely too long
Balthazar being a problem if he ever finds out because he wants to do science
Also them having to learn how to fight while being stuck together
Something about their walk speeds being different- Gortash has a cane for a reason and it takes Durge a while to stop speed walking everywhere. (Gortash can match their pace, but after a while it does take a toll)
Messy sleeping arrangements
Them having to deal with each other’s triggers/really bad days TM
#I was thinking about legend of Spyro because I do that sometimes#and then I was thinking about durgetash cause I do that often#and then I realized how messy and fun it is to say they cannot leave each others side#and isn’t that just infuriating for them#bg3#baldurs gate 3#durgetash#anyways I think it’s fun to take two people who function relatively well together and to watch that promptly fall apart when they cannot ge#away from each other

do you have any recommendations for non-serious/silly media. if not, that fine! i just wanna hear your recommendations
certainly!
Young Frankenstein (dir. Mel Brooks) - a sort of... spoofish sequel (?) to Frankenstein. Victor's grandsone returns to his lab and winds up carrying out the same work.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail [<- IA] (dir. Terry Jones & Terry Gilliam) - Monty Python's goofy take on Arthurian Legends. really fun to watch while high.
Mortal Kombat [<- Tubi] (dir. Paul W. S. Anderson) - is this movie good? absolutley not. but i have a fun time watching it.
My Cousin Vinny [<- Tubi] (dir. Jonathan Lynn) - two young adults get accused of armed robbery and get the help from a lawyer in the family who is. well. joe pesci.
Clueless (dir. Amy Heckerling) - basically the same plot as Jane Austen's novel Emma, except they're high schoolers in America.
The Addams Familiy & The Addams Family Values (both dir. Barry Sonnenfeld) - live action Addams Family films from the 90s are a classic to me. i also recommend the tv show from the 60s.
Clue [<- PlutoTV] (dir. Jonathan Lynn) - an adaptation of the the board game Clue
A Night at the Opera (dir. Sam Wood, Edmund Goulding) and Duck Soup [<- IA] (Leo McCarey) - they're Marx Bros films so they're silly as all get out.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams - very silly sci-fi story about a human who winds up saved from Earth's destruction because his best friend is an alien. And he didn't know.
Mort by Terry Pratchett - a kid who isn't really good at anything gets taken on by Death as an apprentice. Discworld book but you don't have to know anything about the world to read it.
if you're okay with kid's lit, i was a big fan of the Bunnicula books as a kid (family cat thinks family rabbit is a vampire) and have been meaning to reread them.
the original Spyro or the Spyro Reignited trilogy - very comforting series to me
Unpacking - there is a story here all through environmental storytelling, though i mostly just sort of fell into the need to organize things with this game
Elite Beat Agents - pop music rhythm game for the DS with made up scenarios to go with the music
Loco Roco - platformer where you're just some little guys.
Haunt the House: Terrortown - cartoony game where you play as a ghost to scare people (sometimes to death) (i play this when i'm having panic attacks)
i've been enjoying putting on Way of the House Husband when I'm having a bad time
also the manga/anime of Chi's Sweet Home
and Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san
the music of They Might Be Giants, especially the album Flood [<- Spotify]
MandaloreGaming's video on a weird adventure game called Mystery of the Druids [<- YT]
hbomberguy's classic Sherlock is Garbage, and Here's Why
TF2 Yeah Toast! [<- YT]
TB Skyen reads an article about how Millennials are Killing Mayonaise [<- YT]
hope one of these clicks for you!

I did a video game list! Some I've listed because they're my favorite, and some I listed just because I wanted to talk about them, list is in no particular order.
1. Elora, Spyro: Ripto's Rage
Probably my first video game crush, Spyro was the game my mom bought to go with my PS1 and I was obsessed with Elora immediately, I started using her name as a goto name for my own characters in things for years.
2. Odessa Silverberg, Suikoden
With 108 recruitable characters per Suikoden entry plus the non recruitable NPCs, I could probably talk at length about many characters, but Odessa has always stuck with me. Her dedication is something I see in a lot of characters I also admire, but she feels formative to me.
3. Elisabet Sobeck, Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West
I cried through the whole ending of Zero Dawn, what a beautiful, tragic person they had made, and I was not ready for how much more complicated and interesting they would make her in Forbidden West. She is probably one of my favorite characters in media that we never truly meet. Like my favorite in-media legend?
4. Cora Harper, Mass Effect: Andromeda
I played MEA from launch and completed it before the 10 patches were done and I actually adored it at the time and thought a lot of the criticism was very unfair, not about the sad state the game launched in, but about the companions. One person I thought was always treated especially unfairly was Cora. Sometimes you'd see some in fandom insisting that "you should read the book, you'll understand her better!" but honestly, I thought she was perfectly understandable in game. Her character growth was quiet and bittersweet, wrestling with jealousy and disappointment and trying to not take it out on others, but sometimes failing in it, but still trying to make amends? I wonder if how many early reviews actually talked to Cora and explored her feelings. I liked her a lot even before making it to her loyalty mission.
5. Zelda, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
I already enjoyed Breath of the Wilds' itteration of Zelda, I felt like they really did a lot with very little as far as flashbacks go, but oh man, collecting the dragon tears in Tears of the Kingdom, especially watching them in order, I cried so much, I loved her so much, just wow. I don't have any intelligent words for my feelings.
6. Alisae, Final Fantasy XIV
I missed the first time narratively you're supposed to get to really know Alisae because when I started, I was very focused on MSQ and skipped the Coils raids altogether, so I spent an embarrassingly long time thinking of her as "moody Alphinaud". I am very ashamed of my earlier dismissal of her (and Alphinaud as well, honestly) and have grown very fond of her. She really embraces her emotions, positive and negative, in a way not a lot of other characters do, I think, and it makes me really appreciate her when she's in a particular plot.
7. Karlach, Baldurs Gate 3
When I forst started BG3, I didn't know much about it other than it was a D&D game, and watching my spouse be frustrated with the choices their friends were making and failing to make it online at the agreed upon time, much like regular D&D, so as I started meeting the characters, I really enjoyed them, even when they frustrated me. I didn't know Karlach was recruitable and in fact almost missed her, I was backtracking because I realized I had passed Wyll's quest (I had been mostly meandering through the map and not really following the quests closely yet) and when I met her, I was totally taken off guard by her openness, warmness, kindness- she completely subverted my expectations and I thought she was Best Girl right then and there, and then continued to fall in love with her the more time went on.
8. Misty Olszewski, Cyberpunk 2077
I really, really hate Misty's hair, and I'm only bringing it up because it's the only thing I dislike about her, I love her quiet, steady, but very realistic depicted grief, her refusal to be a doormat while maintaining her softness and care. I love her so much, she doesn't need to be a hardass or cruel like so many others in Cyberpunk and does not let that world change her.
9. Adeline, Fields of Mistria
Hard pick for Fields of Mistria, I like nearly every character, but I definitely wanted to bring up one of the ladies from the game I'm playing right now. I have, from you can see from the rest of my list, a special love for women who want to make their community better, and it's so nice to have her optimism and love for her town and people.
10. Lace Harding, Dragon Age: Inquisition (and??)
I saved Harding for last because I am so excited she's going to be a companion in Veilguard! I looked forward to talking to her every new location and getting to know her and was sad we didn't get more of her, and now we are!
Name ten female characters you like, you get zapped if it's jsut a male character you call a babygirl or other feminine nicknames because I can't see people calling Lestat coquette again

14. Worst game you’ve ever played?
15.Hardest game you’ve ever played?
28. Do you still buy physical games?
30. Favorite aspect of a game (e.g. exploration, combat, fashion/customization, environments, graphics, bosses, roleplaying, etc.)
Hi hello sorry for the delayed answers, but here they finally are: 14. Worst game I've ever played Games I've enjoyed but were objectively bad in terms of bugs and stuff like that? Spyro: Shadow Legacy. I loved the game when I was younger but looking back on it, it had a lot of inconsistencies, didn't clarify a lot of powerups amongst other things and was also quite short all things considered. Same case for Super Monkey Ball Adventure; fun but incredibly buggy and also frustrating when you bought a mini-game, saved, and then when you next reboot the console said mini-game wasn't available. In terms of a game I didn't enjoy, thats a tough one because usually its games I've tried, haven't been immediately gripped by and dropped them as a result; I should give them a chance. This would include Pokemon Rangers: Guardian Signs, Divinity: Original Sin 2 as games I really oughta have a go at. the TL;Dr for this question is League of Legends; I've played an ungodly amount of ARAMs, but I don't need to say more cos its League. 15. Hardest game i've ever played League is up there in that there's 165 characters which all do different things, so memorizing what they do, how to combo, how that ties in to who you're playing vs. them, what items to build on them, etc. is a damn hard thing to do. Otherwise, I'd say Path of Exile in that if I wasn't being handheld/ guided by my friends on what to build and how to go about things, I'd be a floundering mess. It has soo much intricacy and theorycrafting within the game its insane. 28. Do I still buy physical games Where I can, I like to buy digital games; I initially liked downloading games and purchasing them via each platform's store, but have since come to realise while that is nice and convenient, its sometimes more expensive and of course you get into the whole longevity of a store being open, being able to download said content in the future, etc. 30. Favorite aspect of a game (e.g. exploration, combat, fashion/customization, environments, graphics, bosses, roleplaying, etc.) A bit of a tough one, cos each of these if fleshed out can be quite good (I like Terraria for bossing and just getting better gear as the game progresses, exploration I liked in Skyrim, BotW, TotK). I think overall though one of my favourite aspects of games is theorycrafting; Path of Exile and League both scratch that itch and I find it very fun and fulfilling to try out different things and see what feels good, what is omega strong, etc. Thank you for the question and hopefully I didn't bore you with my infodump 😅

I’m not really one for New Year’s Resolutions, and yet I seem to do them every year. I’m a hell of an optimist, if anything. I guess it’s just a way of trying to get everything in my life back on track at a convenient excuse to do it.
I’ve got a post-it on my wall from last year’s, where I was pretty ambitious about changing my life for the better. It’s pretty similar to what I would want for this next year, so that’s not a good sign, I guess. This time, I think I’d like to focus on what I’ve gained, rather than what I’m missing.
No Zero Days is written up the top, after that one philosophy on Reddit that I liked. I’ve definitely had plenty of zero days this year! But, it’s hard to say I regret them, since most of them have been recovery from one thing or another. Trying to keep my head above water, here.
Learn a new skill. Nah, I haven’t really done that much. I’ve bought a few things to try and learn things, and I’ve been chugging away a little bit at Duolingo, but I can’t really say I’ve learned an actual skill. I did get a minor certification that I’ve been meaning to get, so that’s cool!
okay this one is Doctor Stuff. I’ve made progress in this sector, and I got an entirely unrelated diagnosis about my blood that I wasn’t expecting. (Plus like four or five blood tests about it because idk they just dropped my vial of blood on the lab floor or something, I’m not entirely sure. Didn’t even get a lollipop for it.)
One blog update per month. WELP. That clearly didn’t happen! Damn but I’d love to get back here. just to watch as social media crashes and burns, but hey. I’ve even got asks in my inbox I’ve been meaning to reply to. (I’m not ignoring anyone, I promise!)
One game finished per month. Uh. Well, maybe I’ve finished 12 games this year? Spyro 1, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Dragon Quest 1 both NES and GBC, Pokemon Scarlet, Pokemon UltraMoon... hm. Probably some minor ones during the year that I’ve forgotten. I played Hades for the first time, so that was cool.
One Project finished. That one was a little more vague, and I had no expectation of actually doing it, since most of my projects are over ambitious anyway, but at least I could work towards it a little if I believed, right? The biggest candidate in my mind was a Pokemon one, one that involved sorting specific legendary Pokemon into groups. (I don’t wanna get specific with it haha.) I remember back at the beginning of the year finally getting right into this, thinking I’d finally make some headway on it, then realising that there was a Pokemon announcement due later that very night, and thinking “this is definitely gonna be another new generation just to stuff up my plans, isn’t it?” So yeah I’m to blame for Gen 9 coming out when it did, sorry! I’ve been working on This Thing for the last few weeks in my free time, so that’s been fun!
This one I was sure would be a good one - Create something and put it out there. I was maybe thinking of that Spyro LP I promised, and I did start work on it, but ultimately it never made it anywhere. (Still got the footage, so I can go back to it, I guess.) The closest thing here would be that one Scarlet video I uploaded that was just a clipshow of bits I found funny, so idk if I can call this one completed in any meaningful way.
But hey, I’ve made baby steps. Sometimes that’s all we can ask for.
A lot of this year was just trying to keep afloat, like I said. This year took people I loved away from me, I got into a car crash, I was put into some fucky situations and I cried more than I wrote. I’ve been at some lows this year and it’s fuckin sucked at times. But I’ve also made some interesting progress, and hopefully things are about to start looking up.
I dunno.
It’s midnight here in Aotearoa. Happy 2023!

But I don’t trust my family to watch Wyatt, Eliana, and Nora. I barely trust them with Wyatt and Eliana these days... If so, where and what does it consist of doing? It’s just a local ABA center. I am a registered behavior technician and I implement the plans written by our behavior analysists for kids with autism. What was the last thing you cooked? Rice I believe. I don’t know. What time is it? 9:43 PM. Do you know anyone with a pet snake? Not anymore. Jake has had a few in the past. Do you own a purple hoodie or sweatshirt? I do not. When did you last stay home from school? It would have been undergrad sometime. ^ What was the reason? Hard telling. Has your house ever had a pest infestation? I don’t think so. Do you have any bad habits? Well, yeah. I think most people do. Can you speak French? I took, like, three years in high school and have forgotten just about all of it. Which one of your friends has great music taste? Uh, Kayla and I like some of the same stuff. Same with Steph. What can you smell right now? Nothing in particular. What was the last movie you watched? Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. <<< Same. What was the last CD you bought? It was a kid’s bop CD for one of my little sisters. Was it a digital copy or old school? Old school. What will you do after this? Probably another survey. It’s been a long time.

Hey dundee, I voted "some" but honestly I have had the same issue since I was a kid playing Spyro and Legend of Zelda for the first time. I have always been afraid of dying in games, and while it's gotten better with time as I learned that nothing bad actually happens to me if my character falls off a cliff or gets killed in a fight, I still experience stress at the thought of "dying" in a game. I don't know how common this could be for other people, but you're not alone there. I play a lot, and have died a lot, but still get nervous going into a new area in a game with the fear "what if I do it wrong." I'll get anxious and avoid going into new places alone sometimes simply because the fear of poor performance and of potentially dying outweighs whatever good thing might be there.
And you're right and I agree that it's not really about video games or dying, it's a stopper that prevents you from taking any perceived risk in live no matter how small it might be, and no matter how great the reward could be. For me personally I think the fear is not really "I am afraid that my character will die and that will be my punishment: having to redo a section of game" or "I'll be hurt for real" but really: "I am afraid of doing poorly and not performing at 100% my very first time. My punishment will be disappointment, from my peers, my family, or myself. I might not be good at this thing if I try it, and I want to be good at it. I'm afraid that I might have to try something multiple times just to be at a beginner level with it, when I want to be an accomplished expert, and I'm also afraid that others will think poorly of me for doing a bad job. My performance reflects on me as a person, and i am trying to be good at personhood." Etc. I'm aware on all levels that dying in GW2 or Half Life won't hurt me in any way in real life, but I am afraid that if I draw or write or create or try something new for the first time, it may be bad.
Something that can help me at times is having someone else there with me, whether they are guiding me or just offering moral support. Sometimes just having someone to say "yeah this part was hard for me too" is enough. It makes the initial attempts less stressful because I can see that I am not the first person to ever struggle or be bad at this. Other times, if it's not something plot relevant or spoilers, I'll look up a walkthrough to the part I'm anxious about. Seeing how someone else does it can help me to formulate my own plan.
Just remember that everyone around you is also a person and also scared of trying or retrying something, and the thing you're trying to do, no matter how daunting, has been accomplished before by someone just as scared as you. If you die in Zelda or draw something lopsided or make a bad soufle or bomb a job interview it might feel bad. But you can do it again and again. Once you've done it bad, you can learn to do it good.
Bottom line, do you want to do this? Are you scared? Do it scared.
cause like there’s something screwy with my brain or whatever that makes dying in a game scary, to the point that i can’t even proceed far enough in botw to figure out how to handle my first guardian, and i have a long list of games that i own and haven’t played more than an hour of because i just really don’t like dying! and i just want to know how get over that hurdle.

Survey #335
“on my forehead, a birthmark / remove it with the kiss of a knife / even if it causes me to die”
Do you recover well from surgery? Judging by the two surgeries I've had, oh yeah. I was hyper as hell when I came home from getting tubes put in my ears as a little kid, even though the doctor said I'd be very sleepy. Then, after my cyst removal, I was put on very strong painkillers but was still warned it was going to be a painful recovery, when it totally wasn't. I literally only took painkillers the first day. What addictions have you had? Caffeine, technology. Would you change your name if you became famous? Nah. If Cupid were real, would you hire him to make someone love you? No. I don't want somebody forced to love me. Ever been to an auction? No. Which word(s) do you generally use to describe someone attractive? (e.g. “fit”, “sexy”) It kinda varies with gender. Women I tend to call "beautiful" or "gorgeous," sometimes "hot" or "cute," while men I usually refer to as "handsome" or "hot"/"sexy." The last person you kissed - are they older or younger than you? She's a bit younger. When was the last time someone wanted you to do something, and you refused? Hm. I dunno. I have a hard time saying "no," so. When was the last time you had Pop Tarts? What flavour were they? Many months ago; I kinda stopped eating them because they're truly not filling and just a load of sugar that veils itself as an actual breakfast choice. But anyway, I liked the chocolate sundae ones. Have you ever felt a temperature below 0? No. Did you ever play Spyro? I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! SPYRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those games were my CHILDHOOD, and it's half the reason I'm dying for a PS4 to play the remastered trilogy. Speaking of which, it'd be awesome if they remade the The Legend of Spyro trilogy as well. I might just like those games more than the originals, but that's a bold statement I'm unsure about. Have you ever dated someone who was of a foreign origin? I dated a Hispanic guy for less than a day. Have you ever read any of your idols’ books/autobiographies? Ozzy Osbourne's, yes. I'm just fucking waiting for Mark to write one, but he's always said he has so little interest in writing about his life. DO IT, YOU FUCK. Do you own any succulents? No. I think they're pretty, though. Do you have a drone? No. What’s your favorite Netflix series? *shrug* What is something a lot of people like but you don’t? Summertime. The heat, the humidity (at least here), the sunburn from just standing outside for ten minutes... I hate all of it. The ONLY two things I enjoy about summer is swimming and then flowers, though spring is the more floral season here anyway. Do you have revenge fantasies that you never actually play out? They've... happened. Did your first real significant other change you at all? Pretty sure forever. Are you waiting to have sex until you’re married? Once upon a time, that was the plan. Now, nah. I'd just want to be in a healthy, stable, and long-term relationship. What do you think about divorce? It's sad, but necessary for some people in order to be happy, which everyone has the right to be. I used to be very firmly against divorce except in extreme cases like abuse, etc., and I'm still definitely no fan of it and think couples should do their best to work things out, but it's incredibly unfair to believe that someone should be stuck for the rest of their life with a person they just don't love anymore. Getting married can be a mistake; don't damn people forever to be chained to their bad decisions. Do you remember the first time your heart broke? What was the reason? It was probably when Dad just abandoned us. What's the worst prank someone has ever done to you? I don't think anyone's ever pulled a sick joke on me. Have you ever seen someone sleepwalk? Yes; my little sister deadass tried to walk outside late at night. Thank God I was on the computer in the living room and stopped her. What song are you listening to right now? I just turned "Mutter" by Rammstein on. When is the last time you cursed? I'm not re-reading, but I have probably cursed fifty times in this survey already. It's so deeply ingrained into my vocabulary. Are there any words on your shirt? No; it's just a plain gray tank top. Why do you forward forwards? I never do because they annoy the fuck out of me. How many people are you interested in at the moment? Just one in a healthy and logical way. I can't be truly interested in Jason because like come on I haven't spoken to him in four whole years. My PTSD just ensures I never forget the memory of who he was, who probably no longer even exists. I mean, look how much I'VE changed in four years. Do you know any mechanical stuff about cars? Nnnnope. Who was the last person (apart from family) that you spent time with? What did you get up to? Apart from family, I have no idea. If you have pets, when was the last time one of them got on your nerves? Venus never does, but Roman can get on my nerves sometimes when I don't let him lay on me when I'm on the laptop in bed. He's a large cat (not overweight, just a big male cat) and blocks the screen big time unless he lies down properly, which he doesn't always do. He still tends to win when he tries to come over, but sometimes I'll block him with my arm, and this spoiled brat will actually slap it a few times before walking away lmao. Would you rather live in a house with a swimming pool or an indoor cinema? Absolutely a pool. I want one badly. Do you own a credit card? If so, do you currently owe any money on it? Could you afford to pay it off tomorrow if necessary? No. How many hours of sleep do you typically get each night? Is that enough to function or would you rather have more? Especially lately, I don't get nearly enough. Like at the time I'm answering this question, it's 4 AM, and I've been up for almost a couple hours. I struggle with falling asleep, I will ALWAYS wake up at least once in the night, and I jerk awake from nightmares regularly still. It's a big reason why I pretty much require naps. Does your house have a loft/basement? Are they functional or do you just use them for storage? We only have an attic. Do you suffer from road rage? What kind of thing tends to set you off or wind you up while driving? No. I'm way too timid of a driver to get that outwardly pissy about stupid people. I'd just judge them in silence, haha. What kind of animal did you last see in the wild? Is that a common sight where you live? Because of just how common they are, I'm going to assume this excludes birds, in which case it was probably a squirrel? Yeah, the normal brown ones are common. Do you post a lot on social media? If so, what kind of thing do you tend to post on there? Since I was fucking stupid enough to post a suicide note on Facebook (I don't want to hear a goddamn thing about "attention seeking," I genuinely wanted to say goodbye), I almost never, ever, share things about my personal life. Even before, it was rare for me to actually share what's going on with me. All I really do now is share relatable, wholesome, or funny shit I find, as well as political things I'm in firm agreement with. What are some habits you have in common with your parents? I pace like my dad, and it drives people crazy because it apparently makes them anxious? I can't think of an obvious one I have with Mom, but I'm sure one exists. Where's your favourite place to swim - the ocean, a pool, river, lake etc? I feel safest and most clean in a pool, but c'mon, swimming in the ocean is so much fun. When you're saving your place in a book, do you use a bookmark or fold your pages down? Or something else? It depends on the book, it seems. Especially if someone else owns it, like in school or something. Is any part of your body hurting at the moment? Is there a specific incident that caused the pain? My legs always hurt. I've shared enough as to why; it wasn't an actual, singular "incident." What was the last thing to make you laugh out loud? OH MY FUCKING GOD. So in group therapy the other day, one of the girls had her bearded dragon out, and he was being aggressive. I think he tried to bite her aND SHE SAID WITHOUT REALIZING HER MIC WAS ON, "fucking dickhead," and everyone d i e d. She's a really cool chick, I'll miss her when I'm finished with PHP. Who was the last person you heard sing? Myself, surprisingly enough. I barely ever sing. Do you bite your lips a lot? Yes, especially when they're dry. .-. What part of your body would you never get pierced? Anyone who gets a piercing "down there" has a greater pain tolerance than this bitch right here. Have you ever dated someone with tattoos? Juan had quite a few. I don't remember if Tyler did... but I think maybe a The Legend of Zelda-related one? Have you ever failed gym in school? No. Are you scared of dogs? No; I love dogs. What is the saddest movie you’ve ever seen? Man, idk, I'm a little bitch when it comes to emotional movies. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is high up there, as is of course Johnny Got His Gun. Old Yeller, too. Which one of your friends is most likely to be famous one day? Why? Sara's gonna write a fuckin book series ok you can't convince me otherwise. What is the worst present you have ever gotten? Damn dude, what an ungrateful question. I'm just appreciative someone even thought TO give me something. Do you shave your arms? My armpits, yes, but not my arms themselves. How many people have you dated? I only count three as even remotely serious: Jason, Sara, and Girt. Have you ever performed in a play? I remember back in Sunday school as a tiny kid I played Mother Mary in one we did in class. Do you chew gum? I have been more lately since my doc upped the dosage of one of my mood stabilizers (which I think is actually helping); I mention that because apparently a side effect is dry mouth, and it's the fucking Sahara in there. He advises those who deal with it to always carry around hard candy or something like that for the sake of forcing salivation, so gum works for me. How old were you when you first started dating? I was in the 7th grade when I had my first "boyfriend," but it was total puppydog love. I started dating my first "real" bf when I was just shy of 16. Are/were your parents strict? Dad, no. Mom, only to a degree that I feel was pretty reasonable. She only ever wanted to prepare us to be functional, independent adults. Didn't work so well on me though, ha... Do you wear glasses? Yes. God, I need new ones. I'm blind as hell. What do you miss most about your childhood? Being so outgoing and happy to just be weird lil me. Do you write “To-Do” lists? Not really, no, but I do have notes on my phone about a couple things, like a bulleted list of planned monetary investments by importance, as well as a list of drawing ideas. Do you have a favorite quote? What is it? I don't, really. There's loads I like, but no one favorite. Could you survive as a vegetarian? I pretty desperately want to, but I don't know if it's realistic. I am so, SO picky, and without meat, it's very questionable as to where I'd get an adequate source of protein. I still want to try again though once I'm at my goal weight. Has anyone ever asked you for your autograph? Lol no. Has someone of the opposite sex ever told you that you were sexy? Yeah, but that was a looong time ago when I was actually some semblance of pretty. Do you prefer to take your showers at night or in the morning? I used to be someone who firmly stood by nighttime showers, but now I'm all about them in the morning. It's a nice way to wake up and start the day with productivity. Could you handle living with a male roommate? I mean, I lived with my then-boyfriend once, but I'm going to assume you'd consider him more than a "roommate." We lived with our two other friends, though, also a couple, and I was totally fine with living with them. Has anyone taken their shirt off in front of you? Yes. Do you like Freddy Krueger? His concept is very scary, but all the movies I've seen bits of have always been super cheesy. Which do you prefer, Naruto or One Piece? I haven't seen either and really aren't interested. What do you think of Rob Zombie? I've never really watched his movies, but I'm a fan of his music. What’s you fetish? I don't have one. Have you ever been in the “friend zone?" Well, what I'd call a "fake" one with Jason after the breakup until I was blocked on Facebook. I know now he absolutely did not want to be friends; he was trying to appease me. Is the area you live in more liberal or conservative? Definitely conservative. Do you know anyone who had to have tubes put in their ears as a baby? Yeah, me. Were either of your parents baptized? I'm certain Mom was, but idk about Dad. I think so. The last concert that you were at, was there a mosh pit? No. What was the last computer game that you played? World of Warcraft. Does your bathroom have a theme to it? No. Are any rooms in your house themed? No. What was the last thing that you recorded? I think Mom and I singing "happy birthday" to my late dog Teddy; we knew it would be his last. Do you like the show Futurama? Not really. Have you ever been in a choir class? I was in the elementary school chorus, as well as the choir at my childhood church. Are you ashamed of any of your family members? No, only myself. Were you a chubby child? No. Did you ever have senior photos done? No, even though I wanted them. Who is the person you dislike the most? God, this is so petty... but it's the girl Jason dated after me. I know it's childish as hell to feel like she "took" him from me, and I just feel this horrible hatred towards her that is entirely uncalled for. I just can't get myself to move past it. Do you take part in paying the bills for your household? No, as I'm unemployed and also don't have disability, so I literally can't. How do you usually celebrate New Years? I really don't do much. Sometimes Mom will grab a pack of daiquiris, but that's pretty much the extent of it. Does the place you work have music playing? What sort? N/A What was the last job interview you went to? At a local grocery store to work in the deli. Got the job, lasted there for not even two hours. :^) Do you know anyone with autism, mood disorders or learning disabilities? Autism and mood disorders, yes. I myself may have high-functioning Asperger's (yes, I know that term doesn't technically exist anymore, it's just the umbrella term of "autism," but w/e). Have you ever had an immediate relative pass away of cancer? My grandmother died of pancreatic cancer, and it's pretty much guaranteed that, unless there's some sudden accident, my mom will die of cancer, too. Hers got too bad to entirely eliminate every trace of cancer cells, so it will inevitably re-emerge at some point, just obviously some place else given that she had a total hysterectomy. Would you rather work in an office, warehouse or on a retail shop floor? Office. Are you a fan of sweet, sour, salty, or savory snacks? I enjoy all of those, but sour I think tops the list.

top 5 video games?
(For this)
I’m going to list five franchises and list specific games there because I’d feel bad if I let one take up the majority of space here. In no specific order besides maybe how easily they come up in my mind right now:
Danganronpa: No surprise to anyone who’s known me over the past two years. Visual novels watching a dwindling cast of characters as they’re all murdered was not something I ever expected to get into. Even if there’s some very obvious problematic stuff, the engaging story and characters sucked me in completely. The main trilogy of games are all pretty close in terms of how much I love them. Even if I have a very special place in my heart for the original Trigger Happy Havoc (particularly because Kyoko Kirigiri is still probably my favourite character in the series, but also because it had to set up this entire world and has a level of groundedness and realism to it that makes it stand out), my favourite is definitely V3: Killing Harmony. Favourite cast, favourite score, favourite trial (THAT FIRST TRIAL WILL FOREVER HAUNT ME AND BREAK MY HEART), my favourite... almost everything. Some of the art is a bit wonky and there’s of course the usual problematic missteps (*shakes fist* Angie!!!!), and the third trial is ironically one of the weakest for me, but when it hits, it hits HARD. Still not over stuff like the impact of Kokichi Oma and the game’s ultimate twist and what it ended up meaning for basically everything.
Little Nightmares: Anyone paying attention to my tumblr may have noticed this crop up occasionally on my blog. I pretty much got into this on accident, an artist I followed was streaming the first game, and that subsequently reminded me of seeing it on a YouTube I follow and liking how the game looked there. Not one for straight up horror usually, but I appreciate more atmospheric stuff like this. Of course there’s the usual very sus things you expect from the genre (seriously, did a fat person hurt someone at Tarsier Studios???), and I will say that I’m not used to puzzle solving that involves a lot of lateral thinking so that did annoy me sometimes (or maybe I just suck with my aging mid-twenties brain lol), but I’m really happy to have a horror experience that isn’t soft on you but also isn’t overwhelming and indulgent in things like gore and jumpscares. I also like the world that’s been created, especially after Little Nightmares 2, which is easily my favourite of the games. Why? Well, besides just naturally evolving and improving from the first game, the story hits a lot harder. I went into the game expecting scary times, but I came out utterly heartbroken and stunned at the twist at the end and all of its implications. It’s all very abstract, sure, but I think that adds to the power of many of these moments.
Crash Bandicoot: Probably the franchise that’s stuck with me the longest, playing these games is almost like second nature to me. I definitely think the cartoony nature of the games and their wide cast of characters helped draw me in, too. My favourite is probably Crash Bandicoot 2, I feel like it was expansive and varied enough while not going as overboard with stuff like vehicles. That being said, I definitely think Crash Bandicoot 4 is rivaling that position, it manages to keep that classic gameplay while escalating pretty much everything in a way that I appreciate. Also have to say I love Crash Team Racing, I’m especially happy with Beenox remaking the game. The original trilogy and the newest Crash 4 are probably the most polished games for me out of the main ones, but I also have a soft spot for Mind over Mutant, which I know is blasphemous to many fans, but I just really like how the game utilises the characters and humour there for the most part, and it’s surprisingly good at worldbuilding and tying to the rest of the series despite on the surface appearing very different.
Spyro: Yeah, given my interest in Crash it’s not a surprise I like the Spyro games, being a sibling franchise in a sense. The games are just really easy and fun to get into. Well, the original trilogy anyway. Everything after it is... something alright. I actually think the Legend of Spyro games are probably the best we got after the original trilogy, because they at least were willing to do their own thing. Dawn of the Dragon was frustrating to play, but from what I understand it was even more rushed and had more budget issues than even the others in the trilogy so yeah. Favourite Spyro is definitely Year of the Dragon. It’s a nice midpoint between the first two games even if overall it’s basically Spyro 2 but done way better. People see it as a rehash and running out of ideas (and I mean the latter wasn’t true, that’s why we’re playing as a flying penguin and space monkey as part of a larger cast of characters lol), to me Spyro 2 has just a lot of issues that 3 is honestly just what the game would be if it were more polished and thought out. I definitely have a soft spot for the original Spyro the Dragon too, sometimes simple treasure hunting and dragon saving is all you need, and it probably has the most fun exploration to it.
Ratchet and Clank: Spyro came from Insomniac games, so when they dabbled back in platforming, I eventually found Ratchet and Clank too. Hybrid platformer/third person shooter with ridiculous weapons and gadgets? Sold. Favourite game is honestly a hard pick. You can tell in the PS2 era they were trying to figure out what exactly they wanted to be, so the Future games definitely are more polished overall in terms of gameplay. Even with this, I really like the PS2 games, they have a satirical edge to them (well, ignoring whatever 3 thought satire was lol) and the first two games having more platforming is really cool. If I had to pick a favourite it would probably be the second game, it was the first Ratchet game to really lean into the weapons more. Even so I really like the first game being quite unique (and it probably has the best story in this era), Deadlocked while at first was a bit too edgelord for me has really grown on me with really honing in on specific things to focus on, and well Up Your Arsenal even if I find some things about it weird (mainly in terms of story) it’s still a really fun game that solidified what the second created. I’m not as into the PS3 and beyond games from a story perspective, but like I said I do think the games are more polished overall. A Crack in Time is definitely my favourite, mainly because they got the story to work best out of the new space opera tone the Future series was going for (nonsensical time travel rules aside). It also has probably my favourite boss in the series, the final one really surprised me when I first saw it and it still sticks out in my mind. Also have a soft spot for Into the Nexus, which even if it’s too short and probably a bit undercooked (eww low framerate) has a really unique tone to it that I’d love to see returned to someday.

Ask Explosion #3:
I think Felix would be confused to hear that Adrien is already involved with her, maybe even questioning why a “bold, strong girl like Kagami” would be interested in Adrien. He might also insist that it’s Kagami’s choice and he’s not exactly going to “give up.” Not that he’d pursue Kagami aggressively, but just that he’d hang out with her in “totally friendly” manners.
Bonus if Kagami catches on very quickly and Felix rolls with it and insists that he’s worthy of her, which leads to Kagami going on a bunch of dates with him to prove otherwise. Adrien is lowkey panicking that he’s going to lose Kagami to Felix when Kagami returns, super casually, and tells him that he had nothing to worry about and that’s why she so confidently went on all those dates (or I guess there could be an alternate Feligami ending for people too).
I admittedly have never heard of the Mid-Autumn Festival before this ask, so it’s hard to say because I haven’t experienced it.
It would be acceptable in a young person’s fanfiction but not in an actual TV show. I’m fine with flirting but there has to be a limit (Astruc said once I think that it’s something Chat has to work through - don’t recall if it was the flirting or how it disrupted battle - and I’m 65% sure that Kagami exists just to pull Adrien out of his Ladybug crush just enough to where he doesn’t get distracted so the writers don’t have to put focus into teaching him a lesson).
Yes, absolutely. I’d give her an 8.5/10.
Oh wow, I didn’t know that!
And... yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case, especially considering all the people they gave a miraculous to Gilbert du Motier, so it wouldn’t be a stretch.
That’s one quote I don’t remember and also is one I do not have on hand so that I can conveniently roast Astruc for it.
“Recommend” is a hard word. I don’t really “recommend” things to people unless I know them on a personal level. I just say what I like and let people go from there.
The other thing is that, with shows at least, I do this thing I call “clipcutting,” which is basically taking out most/all of the aspects of a show that I hate (yes, I am that petty) so I can just have one product where I can watch without the garbage (”garbage” being a broad-ish term; sometimes it’s just “this part is meh and I can live without it”).
For example:
(For reference, average episodes are about 20-22 minutes, I considered “Origins” enough to be its own clipcut, and Part 1 of Season 1 would be a little less than double its length without me clipcutting it. And before anyone asks, the filesize for “Desperada” is so big because I didn’t have the logoless version yet and encoding is a hassle on my computer so I wanted to save it; these pictures are old but get the point across.)
So my views on some shows might be flavored slightly because I watch them without the stuff I deem to be “garbage.” For example, I watched Inuyaha back in the day, but I also gave a big “no” to Miroku’s flirting and a lot of the love drama (also basically any time Kagome went back to the modern era because I get second-hand embarrassment).
Note that none of my “libraries” are that big just because I like to keep my interests small.
Shows (anime): Bloom Into You (I don’t recommend this unless Season 2 gets and I also haven’t read the manga just in case it does so I don’t know how the full story ends), Given, Cells at Work, and Asegao to Kase-san (clipcutted to remove the PG-13 bits so I can just have cute lesbian fluff)
Shows (live-action): Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (I adore campiness and this show is full of it) and Good Eats (because food science)
Movies: Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs (I got an ask about this one and I’d very much like to gush about it but my keyboard is on the fritz; even answering basic asks like these can be tedious) and Beauty and the Beast (the 2014 French movie and also the original Disney movie)
Games: PIKMIIIIIN (I adore this series so much), the original Spyro trilogy (I never played the remastered version), The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Slime Rancher, and a few games in the Sonic series (Unleashed is my favorite and I will die on that hill); there are also “smaller” games that I don’t really count (like Diner Dash and the Azada series).
I presume there’s no connection. Might just be “this sounds like this other language’s word by coincidence.”
“IN A HEARTBEAT” IS SO GOOD AND BLESSED.
Also, bravo for the shade at Yuri on Ice.
Probably not. I watched the Japanese dub and both it and the English dub are so different that I feel awkward talking about one and not the other (which I haven’t seen).
I will say though that I watched the Clear Card Arc and I hate it with a burning passion. It’s basically like--all the tropes from the original that I didn’t like, rehashed, then slapped on with even more keeping Sakura in the dark. That whole thing made me outright dislike a bunch of characters (Syaoran, Touya, why did you betray me) and it wastes so much time with characters implying but not saying and also having an entire episode based on telling a story about a fox who wants to buy gloves (which I imagine is some metaphor for something but it’s a BORING metaphor).
Oh, and taking time out of an episode to talk about cheesecake. That too. Can we please not?
I never watched it and wasn’t interested enough to. I also heard about all the relationship drama between Adora and Catra and I’m just--no, please, I’m too tired for this.
#((This relieves so much of my anxiety with answering asks omg bless.))#category: salt#category: staff#other: non ml talk#other: ask and answer

You’re still welcome to shoot me an email in interest as sometimes ideas might make me reconsider (and money lol)
You can always keep up with my to-do list below in regards to what I’m working on:
► To-Do List ◄
I try to be as efficient as possible and get at least a chapter and or art piece done a week unless something comes up! If you don’t have the money but want to discuss ideas and reserve a spot, you’re free to let me know, and I’ll happily reserve something for you till you get the funds you need. I do not mind waiting as long as you don’t. ♥
(More below cut)
As for my writing references—well, chances are you’re here because of my writing, so you can easily find that anywhere on this blog or on AO3 under Oreana. c:
I will write:
OC/Canon - Gimmie your pretty OC, baby! I love writing to these.
Canon/Canon - Tell me which characters you want to see a story about!
Same sex relationships (if I feel it’s to fetishize same-sex relationships, I WILL decline it...)
Sexual content – please try to keep fetishes to a minimum in these. I don’t mind writing a porn with plot, but I’d advise these not be chapter based as I have so little to work on in those cases.
Reader fanfics. You want me to write yourself in the story with your favorite character? That’s totally fine. You just need to give me your physical description and what you are like, ect so I don’t mess up royally in writing you in.
Anything else regarding my writing, just ask! I don’t have specifics in terms of a ‘don’t list’, but I will warn that it is hard to write to some fandoms I do not know or I am not into well. I am not here to shame you on what you enjoy in terms of anything, so please do not be shy to ask me questions. I want to be certain you get what you asked for!
Ideas (Fandoms) I can and will do:
Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy XV (I have played FFVIII, FFX, and FFXII but there aren’t many characters in there that interest me a lot, but I can give it a go if the plot interests me. I am playing FFXIV currently but the world is so massive that there are lore bits I’m still not certain on, but you’re welcome to shoot me ideas if you think I can handle it.)
Phoenix Wright
Spyro the Dragon
Jak and Daxter series
Octopath Traveler
Overlord
The Rising of the Shield Hero
Isekai Quartet
Undertale
World of Warcraft (As a warning, I don’t play anymore, but I do my best to keep up with the lore pouring in. I’ve not played since WoD but I still look at the Wikis and Youtube videos keeping me up to date on what’s going on.)
Skyrim
Exophilia
I will add more franchises as they roll in. A majority of it is video game related because I stopped watching anime for years. I’m very behind in the ‘new stuff’, but the list will expand as time goes on. For art, with the right references of characters, I can and will draw anything. If it is something I am unable to, I will let you know and possibly ask for you to think of something else or politely decline the commission.
If you have any questions, you’re free to ask~.
You can contact me about these things at my email: [email protected]
Thanks again~
~Oreana Galena

Media Natal Chart Art Project
So, I came up with an idea of an art project I wanted to do sometime, and as I was thinking about it, I realized, hey maybe other people might find this to be a fun sort of experiment too, you never know.
And it has to do with personal Astrology and Media
the basic idea is, to draw out your natal chart, or roughly, the 12 zodiac symbols and the planets, and which planets fall into which zodiacs in that circle for you personally, and then have the twelve zodiacs each be represented by a character in media that’s personally relevant to you as a representation of that Zodiac
Me personally, I chose characters that represented 12 (well, thirteen technically) different video game franchises that I’ve always loved and are dear to me, but specifically animal characters because Zodiac lol
and I mapped them out onto a star chart sort of thing, and one day I want to paint them out with all the different symbols of those video games alongside them as well like a star map of my psyche :p
the basic concept of mine I have as basically this:
Starting with Virgo, which is the Sign that is in my Ascendant/Rising Sign or my First House, in the East (Because the Sun Rises in the East)
(Different people may have different ascendants/rising signs aka different zodiacs in the first house, mine just happens to be Virgo)
and working down around the clock, to the other side, and then ending with Leo my 12th House.
The Center/Star/Technically Sun = Nova from Kirby (I made the eyes look down at Sagittarius, because that’s where my Sun actually is lol)
Virgo the Wolf = Isabelle + Animal Crossing
Libra the Eagle = Spyro the Dragon, he’s a flier kinda like an Eagle, but also the dragon being Libra is a subtle Homestuck reference as well lol
Scorpio the Serpent = Rope Snake from EarthBound
Sagittarius the Horse = Epona from Legend of Zelda
Capricorn the Turtle = Yoshi from Mario (He’s a shelled lizard it kinda counts)
Aquarius the Dove = Chocobo from Final Fantasy
Pisces the Fish = Enguarde from Donkey Kong
Aries the Goat = Asriel from Undertale
Taurus the Bull = Cow from Harvest Moon (AWL)
Gemini the Cat(s) = Mew and Mewtwo from Pokemon
Cancer the Crab = Mamuta from Pikmin
Leo the Lion = Gatomon from Digimon (Not a lion but also I like Leomon also a lot as well and the Mews fit better as the twin cats, Leomon is here in spirit)
and the Planets are the various little marbles all connected to each house, colored by the elements I associate them with
Moon in Leo, 12th House - Yin
Mercury in Scorpio, 3rd House - Air
Jupiter in Scorpio, 3rd House - Wood
Sun in Sagittarius, 4th House - Yang
Mars in Sagittarius, 4th House - Fire
Venus in Sagittarius, 4th House - Gemstones/Rock (Earth)
Uranus in Capricorn, 5th House - Aether/Lightning
Neptune in Capricorn, 5th House - Water
Saturn in Aquarius, 6th House - Metal
Earth in Aquarius, 6th House - Soil/Dirt (Earth)
(I like the idea of putting the planet Earth on the natal chart since it is technically also a Planet that influences things, it’s nature as being Tide-Locked to always face the Moon means it’s position is always in opposition to the Moon on the chart. It’s element is Earth just like Venus, but their symbolism is split between Nurturing Soil and Decorative GemStone.)
The essential idea of this is what pieces of Media give me both childhood nostalgia and are reflection of me as a kid or things that would have been major impacts on me as a kid, represented in the idea of a literal Natal Chart

Excuse me! But where is my Sanders Sides Gamer AU???
Voices in my head: Gee Bunny, it seems you have no problem writing a lot of other fics and stuff yet you still haven’t even finished the next chapter of your Spiderverse fic???
Me: SHUT THE FUCK UP DISEMBODIED VOICES IN MY HEAD!!! IF YOU WANT THAT FIC DONE SO BADLY TELL MY LOGIC AND CREATIVITY TO GET THEIR ASSES IN GEAR AND GIVE ME SOME GOD DAMN INSPIRATION!!!!
Voices in my head:.....
Me: Yeah, that’s what I thought! Anyways, idk if I just missed a memo or something but I haven’t seen any Gamer AU of my boys and that is a crime in and of itself! Like, how dare! But fret not, I am here to provide content (Read: headcannons) that you did not ask for! Let us begin! Or should I say start!
(please note that I am not a gaming expert so feel free to add or correct stuff)
NOW WITH A PART 2!!!!
MAIN SQUAD
Roman Rosewood
Obviously loves RPGs! Anything with a good story line really! Or has medieval fantasy aesthetic!
Skyrim, Diablo, Undertale, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, Undertales, Dragon Age, God of War Dark Souls, Assassins Creed, Earthbound, etc.
Played West of Loathing just so he could rip on it but actually ended up loving it and spending way to many hours playing. Then he found out there was a game called Kingdom of Loathing by the same creators and went down that rabbit hole as well.
He was iffy about getting into JRPGs but then Virgil convinced him to play Persona 5 and he absolutely fell in love with the music!
All the music in his phone is either from musicals or Video games!
Also really likes choose your own adventure games like Detroit: Become Human, Life is Strange, and Telltale Games
So much video game merch! Usually figurines because he likes to make little shelves and display cases for them.
He also really likes multiplayer games because he’s a social butterfly and likes to play with his squad.
Sucks at first person shooter games but still willingly plays Fortnight or Call of Duty or Left for Dead with his friends because he doesn’t want to be a drag and complain. But also they sometimes die in game in the most hilarious ways and it just leaves everybody wheezing.
Virgil Dante
Horror games, obvs!
All about that dark aesthetic!
Devil May Cry, Silent Hill, Fran Bow, Sally Face, Resident Evil, The Witch’s House, Amnesia, Little Nightmares, Bendy and The Ink Machine, Alice: Madness Returns, SCP-Containment, Pony Island, etc.
Yes, he’s played all the Five Nights At Freddy’s games. It’s a good series and it isn’t his fault the fandom is bat shit crazy and full of ten year olds! Fuck you Roman!
Every time the Walking Dead comes out he knows he’ll end up crying by the end of it. He and the squad make and event out of it.
Japanese horror games are usually his favorite because they deal more with the psychological aspects of horror instead of the jump scares
So, yes, he’s also a fan of Corps Party and Fatal Frame
Also really good at first person shooters because he has a really steady hand (you usually have to when playing horror games least you want to restart the level) and it pisses Roman off to no end every time Virgil randomly headshots him.
Usually likes to by merch in the form of posters, t-shirts, or beanies. He only buys figurines if it’s a game he really, really likes.
At first didn’t know why people kept bugging him to play Doki Doki Literature Club but then he finally caved and...oh...that’s why.
Logan Mill
My boy loves puzzle and strategy games yo!
Legend of Zelda, Portal, Tetris, Unravel, World of Goo, Inside, Limbo, Pokemon, Shadow of the Colossus, StarCraft, Command and Conquer, Age of Empire, Heart of Iron, World of Warcraft, etc.
He likes Overwatch but doesn’t like playing with people online so he usual solos or asks the others to play. But that too usually ends in chaos.
Hates rage games because he gets frustrated easily and has broken at least four keyboards and two controllers
He still plays them anyways because he can beat it damn it! Just give him a minute!
Enjoys the God of War series despite all the mythological inaccuracies
He plays a lot of Minecraft to relax or destress and has build beautiful works of architecture and sometimes entire cities.
He thought it was stupid and childish and was embarrassed about it for a long time until the squad came over to his house one day uninvited and caught him playing. He was getting ready for them to make fun of him but they instead gushed about how AMAZING everything looked and how TALENTED he was for building all himself.
Logan ends up showing them how to play afterwards and they work together to make weird sculptures and complex tunnels underground.
He likes practical merch like backpacks, coffee mugs, pencil holders, notebooks, ect. as well as a few t-shirts and novelty ties.
Yes, he does collect Pokemon cards!
Patton Adley
Silly dating sims, farming games, and any cute game really! Plus a few side scroller games!
Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, Slime Rancher, The Sims, Dream Daddy, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Monster Prom, Hatoful Boyfriend, Scribblenauts, Night In The Woods, Ni Nu Kuni, etc.
Big Nintendo fan!
He made the mistake of playing Doki Doki Literature Club without reading the warning tags and regrets it immensely...still a good game though.
He did the same thing with Huni Pop but that one made him laugh more then anything and he kind of got addicted to it. Then he found out there was a sequel called HuniCam so he went down that rabbit hole too.
He likes a lot of phone app games too like Cut the Rope, Neko Atsume, and Candy Crush.
Loves trashy dating app games, he thinks they’re so funny and cheesy
He was addicted to Mystic Messenger for a long while
Just because he has his preference doesn’t mean he won’t try other games too, Logan got him hooked on World of Warcraft (though really he did that to everyone), Virgil showed him Hollow Knight, and Roman suggested he play Undertales.
Prefers merch in the form of plushies and key chains!
He likes to bake and decorate cookies, cakes and pastries in the form of his favorite video game characters.
RED SQUAD
Duncan [Deceit] Adley (Patton’s twin)
A lot of first person shooter and combat games!
Doom Series, Super Smash Bros, Mortal Combat, Halo, Fortnight, Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Half-Life, Team Fortress, Destiny, Wolfenstein, Bio Shock, Splatoon, PUBg etc.
Patton was the one that introduced him to Splatoon and he won’t admit that it’s actually super fun.
Doesn’t mind story driven games and RPGs but he really just wants something he can zone out to and relax
He likes to troll people online, mainly assholes picking on little kids who just want to play.
He once teamed up with a group of kids on Call of Duty solely for the purpose of collectively kicking the asses of this groups of so called “real gamers” that were being jerks.
Has memorized all the combos! He doesn’t have time to sit and look up a cool finishing move, he needs it now!
Always mains the weakest/most useless character in fighting games and still manages to kick everyone’s ass.
Doesn’t have a preference in merch and usually grabs whatever he likes be it figurines, t-shirts, posters, plushies, or whatever, so long as he likes the game it comes from.
Has several tattoos from his favorite games
Emile Picani
Classic retro games, cartoonish games, and Nintendo are his jam broham!
Mario, Classic Sonic, Paper Boy, Transylvania, Spyro, Pac Man, All the Saga Disney games, Duck Hunt, Mario Kart, Galaga, Mega Man, Donkey Kong, Secret of Mana, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, etc.
Absolutely fell in love with Shovel Knight when it came out!
Remy got him into all the indie pixel games: Towerfall, Terraria, Owlboy, Hotline Miami, Papers Please, Celeste, One Shot, etc.
Duncan was the one that introduced him to Cuphead and the usually play it together and see how far each of them can go without dying.
The game is difficult but the art is still so breathtaking!
Likes the occasional psychological thriller game
Bet Virgil showed him Alice: Madness Returns and Doki Doki Literature Club (after he’s played it of course)
Likes plushies and figurine merch with the occasional poster and coffee mug.
Likes to doodle a lot of his fav video game characters and cartoons and is actually really good at it. He helped design most of Duncan’s tattoos.
Remy Knightly
Likes a lot of indie games and old online flash games!
The Stanley Parables, Oxenfree, Inside, Firewatch, Super MeatBoy, The Binding of Issac, Donut County, Henry Stickman series, Impossible Quiz, Crush the Castle series, Hyper Light Drifter, etc.
He always gets everybody hooked on one game or another
He convinced everyone to play Undertales so for like a month they all went through a HUGE Undertales faze.
Was the actual, ACTUAL one that showed Duncan Cuphead because he knew the dork would be reminded of Emile because of the animation and would want to show it to him and play multiplayer (*cough* subtle matchmaker *cough*)
(Do not be fooled, he is a pinning boy himself)
Is up to date in all the gossip of the latest games and consuls, indie or mainstream! He’s in the know, know and if you need to know something chances are Remy probably knows it.
Weeds out through all the indie horror games for Virgil and recommends what he thinks are the best ones.
Same thing with Logan and his puzzle games, he’s usually is able to find very strange ones and Logan seems to likes those best.
Obviously has a lot of merch in coffee mug and thermal form as well as a few key chains.
Occasionally streams on Twitch with Duncan and Emile (sometimes inviting the main squad too), they’re commentary is usual hilarious.

Spyro Reignited Countdown - The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (Console)
I can’t help but have mixed feelings about this game. One one hand, I love it. Of the Legend of Spyro games, this is, by far, the one I’ve put the most playtime into. I legitimately have fun with this game, well beyond the fun I have with the first two games in the series.
But on the other hand, it doesn’t close the story in a satisfactory way. It’s like reading the first two books of a trilogy by one author, and then reading the last as bad fanfiction but illustrated by a talented artist. It’s good, but it’s not the end you were hoping for.
And I also have to keep in mind the way I play: with infinite health and mana cheats on, and the game language set to one I don’t understand very well. This way, it’s a great stress-relief game, and the sub-par voice acting doesn’t bother me.
Gameplay
With the game developer swap, the gameplay changed drastically. It’s still an action game, and you still have a similar moveset, but the way the game plays is completely different. I’ve never played God of War, but I’ve heard this is what this game is most similar to.
The camera is now a lot less movable, enemies act very different, and I haven’t played enough Action games to really describe the differences. Melee feels a lot less powerful, but at the same time, the elemental abilities don’t feel very powerful either. You have all sorts of melee combos, but honestly I hardly used more than the basic attacking and grab attacks depending on the enemy. Like, grab if you can, and if you can’t get behind it and attack.
The default difficulty is between A New Beginning and The Eternal Night, meaning it hits a good medium. I think, anyway. As stated before, I don’t really play it the way it’s supposed to be played.
I also can’t judge the control differences, because I switched consoles from PS2 to Wii for this game. Motion controls make this really good for stress-relief, as instead of button-mashing, you punch the air really quickly. And there’s a lot of button-mashing in this game.
Oh yeah, and this game has cutscenes where you have to press certain buttons at specific times to move on. I really don’t understand the appeal of this type of gameplay. This is the only game I own to have that feature, iirc.
Additional Playable Character
You actually get one this time: Cynder! She plays exactly like Spyro except with different elements, though. Still, it does essentially add a second health bar, mana meter, and set of abilities if you’re playing single-player, and really shines when playing two-player.
Collectables
Health and mana upgrades return, and are much easier to find this time around. This time, they’re fairly similar looking to gem clusters, but are more hidden. Each does not give a straight upgrade, rather requiring you to find multiples of them, and Spyro and Cynder each take a different amount to upgrade their abilities: with Spyro upgrading health more often, and Cynder upgrading Mana.
The game also considers Spirit Gems, the upgrade-based gem-cluster, to be collectables. These are the easiest to find and they’re fairly numerous. Not as numerous as gems in the Classic titles for sure, but more numerous than any other collectable.
Armor is a new feature in this game. Each piece is fit to a specific dragon and gives a unique bonus to them. Collect all three pieces in a set, and you get a special ability, some of which are very powerful. These tend to be in their own unique paths and secret areas, but aren’t as difficult to find as the health and mana upgrades.
And unlike The Eternal Night, you can return to levels you completed at any point. Overall, collectables are very well-done in this game. They’re fun to find, rewarding if you do, but still aren’t the game’s focus. And that’s okay.
Breath Abilities
Spyro and Cynder both have four abilities each, all available from the very beginning. They’re all used not only in combat but also for various small puzzles.
Spyro’s Fire breath is as staightforward as it gets. Upgrades do, like previous games, send enemies running, though. The secondary is Comet Dash again, establishing it as a standard. It can burn down vines to reveal new paths.
Spyro’s Lightning Breath will chain between multiple enemies if they’re close enough to one another, and will also paralyze them. It doesn’t do much damage, though. The secondary creates a large ball of electricity that I hardly ever used. For puzzles, it powers up gates, keeping doors open for a limited amount of time.
Spyro’s Ice Breath has a icicle shard attack that slows down opponents. I literally don’t remember using the secondary at all, nor if there are any puzzles that require it.
Spyro’s Earth Breath I only remember the attack where you essentially turn into a boulder. I don’t think I ever used it in combat, and that boulder attack is used a couple of times to smash down walls and through a floor.
Cynder’s Poison attack is the most straightforward, sending globs of acid at opponents and causing lasting damage. I don’t recall the secondary attack It’s used on the same vines as Spyro’s Fire breath.
Cynders’s Wind is hardly useful in combat, moving opponents around rather than directly damaging them. The secondary whirlwind will knock enemies into one another, though, causing damage and racking up huge hit combos. It’s used to blow open some doors.
Cynder’s Fear is my favorite. It does a pulsing attack that stuns opponents. The secondary throws out balls of energy that do massive damage and stun opponents. For puzzles, there’s a couple of times you need to scream at some tuning forks to activate some bridges for some reason.
Cynder’s Shadow is also neat. Its secondary is a cloud of darkness that makes opponents target one another. The primary is the Shadow Dash, where you melt into a shadow and attack opponents when you come back up. It’s used for puzzles a lot, where you turn into a shadow to go underneath gates then activate a switch on the other side to let Spyro in.
Overall, some pretty neat variety, but the fact that mana drains so quickly when not using cheats makes them much less useful and hard to fully explore. I honestly just use Fire and Fear 90% of the time.
Bosses
Have some neat gimmicks. Generally, you’re just fighting something a lot bigger than you, going through the stage while it attacks you, or in the case of the Destroyer, the whole level is the boss.
Then there’s Malefor, where you need to dodge attacks and slowly move towards him to get your own attacks in before he runs off.
These bosses have a very different feel from previous games, but it’s not a bad thing. They’re generally legitimately fun to fight.
Levels
They’re beautiful. Okay, maybe I’m just referring to Twilight Woods, Valley of Avalar, Burning Lands, and Floating Islands. Still, that’s a good number of them. I just love flying around them.
Every level has various secrets, and the main level is easy to follow. Sometimes the camera does tell you exactly what to do, but it’s generally necessary since something that was not interactable before becomes interactable.
The only one I dislike is Dragon City, but that’s pretty much because it’s all combat. Different levels have different focuses, and it does mean that there’s a lot of variety, as far as the core gameplay can have variety.
Since you can fly freely now, there’s really not much in the way of platforming. There’s a little, and in general it’s forced by you carrying something heavy, invisible walls, and strong gusts of wind. It works well enough, but is a little strange at times because why can’t you just fly higher?
Story
Malefor has returned while Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx were frozen in time. Under orders, some Grublins come and break them out, attempting to feed them to the Golem. This fails, and Hunter shows them the way out. The rest of the game involves learning about how Malefor intends to destroy the world (Awakening the Destroyer who walks around the world and breaks it apart at the end), trying to intercept and stop it, and eventually facing Malefor himself. Along the way, Sparx gets abandoned and Ignitus dies, both to the stupidest of reasons.
The voice acting is horrible in this game as well. I don’t even know how they messed it up, since it’s the same actors for the most part. But a lot of the time it’s just so lifeless and emotionless, especially on the part of Cynder. And even if, in the case of Ignitus, the acting is fine, the movements of the characters just don’t work.
And then there’s the tragedy of Volteer being super silent. What’s with walking dictionaries in the Spyro series going dumb?
Overall, this is not the finale The Legend of Spyro deserved. At least on the story side of things. And since that’s my favorite part of The Legend of Spyro, it’s a big shame.
Unique in the Series?
Oh boy is it. It’s the only Spyro game with free-flight and focus on two-character gameplay. These two things alone define this game’s gameplay, so it makes this game completely unique from the rest.
The artstyle is also unique to this game, with these character designs never returning. Which isn’t that bad, since they were weird. Especially Ignitus. The only character that improved from previous (Legend, anyway) titles is Sparx. The cheetahs weren’t bad, either. But the dragons are just no.
So yes, but it’s not too bad that it’s unique. Spyro’s so much about gliding, so yeah.
Conclusion
I have mixed feelings about this game. It’s good on its own, but it isn’t a satisfactory conclusion to The Legend of Spyro, and of course it’s still extremely different from the Classics.
Still, I love the game itself. I might be playing it completely wrong, but the way I play it, I love it. I’m glad it exists, even though I’m sad at the nonexistance of The Darkest Hour (Krome’s name for the third Legend of Spyro title).

“Lethal” Tag Game
Rules: Answer these questions for whatever characters you want, then tag some people.
From @alessia-writes https://alessia-writes.tumblr.com/post/183726977544/lethal-tag-game
PAST
Have they ever killed someone? Who? Why?
Ever: She’s killed a few apes (the enemies in Legend of Spyro) in self-defense.
Maria: Shot a soldier to save Shadow.
Crystal: Has killed more apes than she can count. Why, because she has to. She’s the chosen one.
How do they feel about it? Would they do it again, given the choice?
Ever: She feels bad about it since she’s aware that apes aren’t just mindless fodder enemies... But when they’re trying to murder her and her friends, well, she’ll do what she has to as many times as she has to.
Maria: Also feels terrible, but she has no regrets. She didn’t want to kill anyone ever, but it was the soldier or Shadow. She made her choice. Whether she’d have done it again is something she tries not to think about.
Crystal: She felt bad at first. Then that feeling turned to numb. Whatever it takes to make this all end.
If yes - Do others know? Have they been punished for it?
Ever: The Guardians are aware that she’s killed apes, but punishing her for killing their adversaries isn’t exactly their prerogative...
Maria: Only Shadow knows, but she ended up shot herself a few hours later, so I guess that was her punishment.
Crystal: Off the hook for the same reason as Ever. Killing enemy soldiers isn’t going to get you in trouble.
PRESENT
In a fight, having the chance of a final, lethal strike, would they hesitate?
Ever: Sometimes, and she actually did her first kill, so...
Maria: Maria took a two-minute acid trip into Eternity before she could even muster the courage to pull the trigger so I guess that’s about as hesitate-y as you can get...
Crystal: Not anymore.
If they are potential killers, do they have any rules? (No backstabbing, only bad guys, no children,…?)
All of them share the “bad guys only” rule. For Maria it’s direct self defense only. And that’s about it.
If they had the chance to murder their enemy and get away with it, would they do it?
Ever: I mean I guess there’s Tarrok. Okay, uh, no. It might have been nice to have him out of the way and not bothering her but murder wasn’t really one of the ways she was considering dealing with him...
Maria: If her enemy is the Commander during the massacre, then no. The whole shooting the soldier thing was kinda just a one-time deal, spur of the moment thing. Choosing to just kill someone would be a little much...
Crystal: Her direct goal is to kill Malefor and end this war once and for all, so hell yes she would, even if her chances of defeating him alone are slim. The only problem is, she needs to stay far away from him. If she jumped the gun before she learned that, well, the world is screwed.
I... don’t know who to tag either, I can’t remember who writes violent stories XD @ANYONE

Sonic the Hedgehog: My Thoughts on the Series and Fandom (Part 2)
Hey! It’s me again. I didn’t expect my previous Sonic post to have a second part, but I feel that I should write this. But first, the previous part can be found here to understand the discussion I will make. Part 1 of “Sonic the Hedgehog: My Thoughts on the Series and Fandom” Second, I dedicate this post to @cellarhapsodos, who has been having mixed feelings about the Sonic series for a long time. After discussing this with her and doing a lot of thinking, I want to address this to better explain my opinions in the last post. So prepare your snacks and beverages, this is going to be a long post. Okay not really long compared to the last post, but you get my point. Let’s do this!
As I said before, the Sonic series means a lot to me. I grew up with the games, the modern games to be exact. I was ten years old when I got my first game, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Sonic Adventure came next, and I obviously put two and two together and realized they were connected. Anyway, over the years I’ve become a longtime Sonic fan, buying any Sonic game that I could find. Now it’s 2017, and I’m still a Sonic fan and I will always be a Sonic fan.. My friend and I had a debate regarding the series’ current state. We argued over why people aren’t pleased by the games as they used to back then. I believed it was all just nostalgia and they couldn’t handle change. After all, Nintendo experiments with the Mario series. Why can’t Sonic do the same? However, my friend states the series changed too fast. Being the stubborn woman that I am, I didn’t believe her and stuck with my beliefs that the fans were to blame for Sonic’s rocky reputation over the years. I mean, I love Sonic. I grew up playing his games and I idolize him. He’s what made me into a gamer, and not just a casual gamer that only plays games like, I don’t know, once a week. I got angry over her argument, so I just had to give myself time to cool off. Compared to my past self, I have improved with people who had opinions that widely differed from mine. We’re still friends and we’ll always be friends. Ending a friendship over a disagreement is ridiculous. Unfortunately, not a lot of people in the Sonic fandom are rational. Now I couldn’t sleep a couple nights ago (I get insomnia sometimes), so I stayed up pondering, and I mean pondering on my friend’s side of this debate. It was hard to face that I was wrong about this. I hate being proven wrong. Lol But in the end, I realized I was misguided. I started to think from a different perspective, and…the Sonic series did change too fast. Sega took the “Gotta go fast!” literally, and it started ever since the series made it to 3D. Now I do know about the classic era games despite that I only played a few of them so far (Sonic 1, Sonic CD, and Sonic & Knuckles), but I can point out the series’ evolution. Okay, so according to my calculations, the Sonic series changed rather fast beginning with Sonic Adventure. Sonic started off running through places, collecting the chaos emeralds, and defeating Eggman (who was known as Robotnik back then). This stayed fairly consistent in other games (I don’t know all of them, so others may be different not too different). Maybe the changes in the series occurred before, but I’ll just say Sonic Adventure started the departure. Sonic not only traveled through places and went for the usual, emerald collecting and fighting Robotnik (now Eggman), but he was placed in Station Square, and had to battle a water monster known as Chaos or else the city is doomed. The game included a more complex storyline, which I personally don’t mind, but I get that it threw people off. From that point on, the Sonic series added more story, new gameplay mechanics, new characters, and basically different experiences. Yes, some modern games did take a step back to bring the franchise closer to how it used to be (Sonic 4, for example), but without drastically reverting back to the same gameplay from before. Those are a few games, however. Oddly enough, I heard people complained about Sonic 4, so I clearly don’t get their dissatisfaction. Now I will use the Mario series in order to compare since Nintendo almost never failed to get positive reviews for their games (we don’t talk about the failures, but there were a couple). Let’s see, Mario did remain faithful to its formula and despite adding changes as time went on, the games still managed to stay true to the Mario series. I don’t know when Mario started to change but my guess are the Paper Mario games. I haven’t played them, but that’s my guess. Maybe Super Mario 64 led to the evolution. Or Super Mario Sunshine. Whenever it started, the series did change during its evolution. But it didn’t overdo it to the point of having the fans turn away. Wow! Now I’m seeing what my friend was talking about but I was too stubborn to notice. Mario did evolve over the years, but it was subtle. It gradually changed as the years passed all while maintaining the core elements that make a Mario game, well, a Mario game. It didn’t change too fast. Mario didn’t go from saving the princess in a simple story to traveling through outer space and exploring galaxies to save not just Peach but the entire universe overnight. Yes I referenced Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 because those are my favorite games. Now it came a long way, but no matter what ideas they implement in their modern games (with their latest being Super Mario Odyssey), Nintendo has kept Mario the same in certain aspects. Sonic, however, didn’t change the way Mario did. It didn’t evolve at a pace that can keep fans happy. It doesn’t mean I like the Sonic series less after analyzing both franchises and taking my friend’s point of view under careful consideration. I love the modern games because they have been my childhood and to me, they are fun. Go ahead and disagree with me, it won’t change how I see them. I never grew up with the classic games, so that’s why I’m fine with their current games. I still think nostalgia plays a part on this when it comes to the fans, even if it’s a small one, but I now consider that the series did change too fast and it caught a lot of fans off-guard and now they just don’t like the series as much as before. I should know because Crash and Spyro did the same thing, which sadly led to their tragic end. But now that Crash returned back to how his fans remembered him with N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro could return as well with a possible PS4 remake of the original trilogy (please let it happen!). Their last few games were a disappointment. For me, Crash of the Titans/Mind Over Mutant and The Legend of Spyro trilogy caused their downfall. They changed too much and too fast. I understand why Sonic fans have been disappointed for a long time, but Sega’s doing their best. I know you may think they don’t care about the series anymore and they need to listen to their fans, but they still have the right to experiment. Now I don’t mind their games today (except the first two Sonic Boom games) because I’m a modern Sonic fan, but when (and if) they do listen to you guys, I have one request for Sega. Don’t go back to the old ways too much because I really like the way you’ve been making your games. Add the old with the new somehow. Mario did it and that’s why the series is still strong today. I hope someday the fans will get what they want but not at the expense of Sega reverting all the way back to the old days and never innovate ever again. It’s okay to try new things, they just need to find a balance between classic and modern. If that’s what it takes for Sonic’s reputation to improve, then alright. All in all, despite these obstacles, the Sonic series is still alive and I do hope it will last a long time. Keep on running, Sonic.
#sonic the hedgehog#thoughts and opinions#an apology to the sonic fandom#i was a fool for not looking from their perspective#i still love the modern games despite this but i do get their side of things
