I totally get why some people don’t like the word “queer” being applied to them, but also when people are really against broad usage of the term “queer” and simultaneously insist upon using the R slur in a derogatory manner when they themselves haven’t had it used against them in a bigoted manner it just throws me for a loop and I have to hard restart with the power button and everything, it’s so inconvenient

#I was targeted by ableist bullying for basically my entire childhood #I have a visceral reaction to that word being used as an insult #I give it a pass if a disabled person uses it affectionately or to speak in the voice of an ableist person #ie ‘they’ll let me hustle them because they’re gonna think I’m r*****ed’ is something I’ve been known to say #cw ableism #cw r slur
