Always a little jumpscared going through old (<2005) USA gaming mags for Guilty Gear reviews and seeing decent scores and nice things said about them lol
#textpost#The short of it is that Americans really hated the Japanese in the late 80s-early 00s (think how Americans are towards China now)#and Guilty Gear is VERY Japanese and VERY over the top#I'm actually having a hard time finding archives of reviews for some of the games because a lot of magazines just kinda skipped 'em#Going through Game Informer mags most recently and have only found reviews for: Overture + ML + GGX#None of the Xrds. No XX. No Isuka. No Strive (no pro jumpe-*brick'd*)#I haven't gotten to the X2 releases yet though. They MAY have done at least X2#I was super surprised by no Xrd Sign review specifically because it at least had an English dub#By Strive's release the magazine was starting to die#A lot of veteran staff members were quitting and they probably skipped it to save money or time#APPARENTLY Cincinnati Ohio reviewed Guilty Gear X2. I //NEED// to go find that later#Why in the HELL did a random newspaper from Cincinnati Ohio review Guilty Gear X2 in 2004
