Doc what would you have in mind for Widowmaker's girlfriend if you were charged with coming up with that?

This is actually kind of tough because I see so much of what is going on with Widowmaker as her own inability to connect, and to let herself connect. 

(This is all gonna be Hon Hon Hon verse--If I were tasked to do it for Blizz, she’d basically be a cute nonentity like Emily because That’s The Job Sometimes and so she’d be a sexy femme something something ebcause that would make her bi/pan canonically but not turn dudes off because her sex appeal is her THING in the game wrought large I KNOW I DON’T LIKE IT EITHER but when I applied for the blizz job I kept in mind that SOMETIMES!! THAT WAS GONNA BE LIFE!!) 

But I don’t, I work for ME, and so hon hon hon it is. 

IN MY WORLD: 

Widowmaker’s sexuality in general I’ve never nailed down because not to sound like any given bisexual on TV but I don’t really feel a need to label it, the way i do say, Hana or Lena or p much anyone BUT Widowmaker. 

And this is because of WM’s own shit she has going on. In Hon Hon Hon, she never loved Gerard, Gerard was a means to an end to get out of a situation that she hated, and when she killed him, she was absolutely NOT brainwashed, because I am tired of sexy brainwashed ladies, (also if she goes to his grave at christmas is she even brainwashed this does not scan) she was once again getting herself out of a situation only this time the husband was Talon. 

Did she love Tracer? I don’t think she knows. She certainly was fascinated by Tracer, a person different from her on every level, a little ball of sunshine and loyalty and love. She certainly enjoyed FUCKING Tracer. But I don’t think she knows if she was in love, I’m not sure WM knows if she knows what love feels like. And so the question of coming up with a girlfriend for her becomes complicated. 

I would be drawn to doing someone else that she’s sort of just fucking, but is not so diametrically opposite her Tracer is, so she could find common ground and it would be easy for her to get caught up in it all, and she could feel herself liking being around someone for no reason that has to do anything at all, no sneaking, no nothing but a feeling very frightening and interesting. 

If I had to do it with another game character it’d be Sombra. And i’ve kicked that around! 

For the lulz though it’d be hard to beat her sleeping with some young Talon thing and she rolls over and is all “What is your name?” and it’s some Russian girl who just says “Lena” (Leh-nuh, not Lee-nah) and WM just goes “ARE YOU FUCKING SHITTING ME” but sexily and in French
