To summarise it short though, basically what happened was 87 was switched to a more “plot centric” and “serious” tone near the end, hence redesigns, old mainstay cast members being removed/replaced and a new theme song. They’re usually dubbed the “red sky seasons” because, well, the sky is suddenly blood red-
From memory the drastic changes were caused by a mixture of wanting a new direction to stop declining viewership/the success of the more darker first 90s movie. Ironic, given that the 90s movie trilogy ended up becoming more like the goofy show by the time of Secret of the Ooze LMAO
#I’m admittedly not an expert on this era yet because I’ve been leaving it to the side for now to just enjoy the first seven seasons of 87#but I have still looked into it! I’m definitely curious to watch more (I watched half of one episode already and was already 👀 👀 so AHA)

None of you were too sure how exactly this had started.
