before everyone gets sent to the middle of the galaxy*, we don’t see chibichibi do that much that could be described as interference with the past timeline but one thing she does do- the first thing she does at all- is rescue kakyuu. it's at least implied that kakyuu would have died otherwise- she even tells the starlights "Several times I tried to go to you. But my body's recovery took longer than expected... ChibiChibi was the one who helped me a lot." ultimately kakyuu helps usagi get to the galaxy cauldron, meaning her presence isn't inconsequential.

chibichibi also attempts to prevent the starlights from meeting kakyuu. she refuses when they ask and also did not at any point bring kakyuu's incense jail to them. now she obviously didn't feel that strongly about preventing it, she could blow up the starlights if she wanted, but i don't think she would've initially been against it for zero reason. and there is no way she doesn't already know their relationship even if you ignore that chibichibi is sailor moon from the future because she's been regularly talking with kakyuu about the starlights over the past few weeks or so.

this leaves me with some questions:

-what happens in the ‘first’ timeline that chibichibi/sailor cosmos originated from? mainly, does kakyuu live or die in that timeline? we don't actually know for sure despite the implication. does she live, but in a worse/damaged state? if she did die, how does chibichibi know her at all- hearing about her from the 'first' timeline starlights?

-why try to keep kakyuu from the starlights? attempted damage control to prevent the timeline from getting too different?

-if chibichibi’s interference caused kakyuu to live when she originally died, why do this? did she want someone to temporarily keep usagi company after all her friends died? did she just feel bad for kakyuu? did she know having kakyuu alive would get them to the galaxy cauldron more efficiently? clearly sailor moon got there one way or another in the ‘first’ timeline, and kakyuu implies that her star system (and by extension herself, as a princess) is just one of many that are all less powerful than our solar system, meaning she likely doesn’t possess the unique ability to travel there. it seems she just CAN help usagi get there because she knows where it is. but chibichibi herself could fulfill that role. so kakyuu is not necessary to get to the galaxy cauldron. therefore...?

i don't have answers. maybe to her it's like a videogame she's playing for the second time and she's like Ok This time i will see what happens if kakyuu lives. maybe she genuinely didn't know/forgot who kakyuu was and found her on the side of the road and was like 'well i might as well help this random passed out cosplayer while i'm here' and then it was thee alien princess and she was like I can't kill her now it'd be awkwarddddd. intergalactic toddler of mystery

Just thinking about postwar!Levi and him watching a film in a movie theater for the first time. It’s well after The Rumbling, and everyone was talking about the new “moving pictures” showing up in these newly built movie theatres. Levi had never been one to attend theatre productions or music concerts before, but he was curious to see what the fuss was all about, so he goes one night with Onyakopon and Yelena.

And what he sees is nothing short of spectacular to him.

People in fantastical costumes traveling beyond this world and meeting new creatures Levi had never thought of in his wildest dreams. After that first time, he started going every weekend with Onyakopon, eager to view new stories and places long gone, forgotten, or never created.

But one afternoon, he sits in the theater and watches as the screen fills with soldiers attacking innocent, unarmed people. A woman holds a child with tears in her eyes, but the soldiers march forward. There’s no sound, but Levi can hear every pop of the guns, every cry of the women and children. He stands up and leaves.

Onyakopon finds him sitting in the lobby, his head in his hands.

“You ok, Levi?” He asks.

Levi looks up, sweat on his brow. “Yeah…it was just a little too realistic.”

the hc that susie & bandana dee have this parent-child dynamic will never die in my heart, i imagine that ever since they met for the kirby battle royale trailer they've just had this sort of friendship

like i imagine susie would cut & peel him apple slices, pack him lunch with all his favorite foods, provide him spare change in case of an emergency, celebrate his successes no matter the size, excessively worry about whether he's wearing enough/had enough sleep/eating well, or provide him guidance if he's struggling with something --generally things that are similar to how a parent would care for their child (this is from the perspective of someone from an east asian cultural context where some of these actions that appear odd are very conventional ways of displaying affection from parents)

it's cute & she does these things because she can see a lot of herself in bandana dee (the girlfailure) & wants him to have the opportunity for, if not a normal, then at least a happy & safe(r) childhood unlike the one she got

god forbid she watch him fight some newly arisen ancient godly entity with kirby the third time today.

It's almost kinda poetic how "Sailor Moon Cosmos" in the west was pushed back so far due to licensing that now that a lot of fans are opting to fansub it themselves and that's how hardcore fans are watching it.

So when the official release does finally come out all the hype behind it will be somewhat deflated.

You know. Like how "Sailor Moon Stars" was for decades.

It's late af, but animelyrics has upped it's game from the last time I used it (which was probably back in hs for weeb related reasons 😭).

Managed to get some dissertation work done today, but just really not feeling it. Maybe tomorrow will be better esp since I'm planning on going to gym.

Also, look at my supper, Senshi would be impressed I think. It tasted so good too.

Wrote about 400 words for my dissertation

Read some of what I wrote last year and made notes for this year's writing

Made ramen with the mushrooms I cooked yday (very good choice)

Watched an episode of The Dragon Prince (Spanish dub)

Read La Escuela and correctly guessed a couple words from context!

it is funny that precure ignited a love for mahou shoujo that madoka magica was never capable of. Like, madoka is a really good anime and a good mahou shoujo, but i doubt many people will go after more mahou shoujo after watching madoka because it is really different from the rest.

I always liked mahou shoujo, but after i watched Go Princess Precure and now with me watching weekly Wonderful Precure i LOVE mahou shoujo, like for real, it is amazing.

I really want to give a singular sailor moon watchlist so a person can see the best of both 90s and Crystal without having to watch both (that’s a lot of anime) but like Rei and Mina are such completely different characters between the two like you’d spend the whole time confused
