As a result of me doing the Dragon’s Tears quest line before following Zelda to Hyrule Castle it just seemed like Link was completely in denial, and that was sad.

A Player's Aid: Chapter 14
Fandom: Legend of Zelda, Linked Universe
A/N: WHAT'S UP FUCKERS- shorter chapter but it's fucking here
Warnings: Bad language, descriptions of panic attack, descriptions of nightmares, descriptions of drowning/choking/suffocating, descriptions of hallucinations, mentions of possible PTSD
In the warmth of the afternoon sun, the people rejoiced.
Some kneeled to kiss the grassy earth beneath their shoes, others hugged and sung thanks to the goddess to see the light of day once more and others merely eased their tense bodies to the welcoming breeze, eyes closed in bliss. Freedom. Finally, they had reached freedom after those terrifying, grueling days stuck in the confines of that age old library.
The Hero of the Four Swords looked towards the castle in worry.
“Any sign of them?” The sailor asked nervously, eyes also trained on the grand palace. “Cook hasn’t picked up on the slate, no matter how much I’ve tried to contact him with the stone.”
The worry brewing in the smithy’s gut only seemed to burn at those words. “Not at all?”
“No.”
The eldest seemed the most panicked of it all. The Old Man held that mask of stoicism well but masks were not made in likeness, their duplicity was still noticeable under a scrutinising eyes and the blonde could see the worry in his gaze. The way he seemed to pace on the spot, how his hands twitched against the hilt of his sword and his eyes stayed fixated on those towers of stone a little too long. Time fought it, of course, and if the ‘accusation’ came that he was fearful in this moment it would be met with a burning glare and swift denial.
“I do not fear when I know you are all capable of holding your ground, especially against that monster.”
But not all of them were his descendant, were they?
Ever since that dreadful day, the Ranch-hand laid in a bed not of his own making, the darkness of the Shadow’s blow seeping into his bloodstream and slowly draining the soul from his weakening body as he edged closer and closer to death. Only a few terrible hours, but enough to air out the grievances with them amidst the worry and frustration. The Four Sword Hero and the Hero of Wild had fought but that had come to pass- however the light shone on the topic of ancestor and descendant could not just be pushed aside.
The Hero of Time had become…stricter with the farm boy. Obvious to them all, the man had taken his role more seriously then. All could see it, the nervous light dancing in his eye when he sent the brunette on an errand or watched him battle a monster with the strength of a Hylian Ox. The very thoughts of fighting the very thing that had nearly sent him to the gates where the Golden Three held eternal paradise was probably eating the Old man alive, concern gnawing at his gut like a dog chewed at its bone.
The Hero of Time knew that the others were capable- but did he think the same of his successor?
The Four Sword Hero could also see that the question mingled in the mind of the Ranch-hand too, albeit the Old Man did try his damndest to not show it in front of him, especially knowing that stubbornness that seemed to last generations in his family.
The Skyloftian Knight had told him, even when he stood, bleeding out and wobbling, he would not yield his position as hero on that day the Shadow struck.
What an idiot his brother was, sometimes.
“How much longer could they be?” Gilda muttered to herself, the fairy having joined them when she had seen them return from their side quest. “Maybe I should go have a look-”
A huff silenced her.
“Maybe our resident witch has bewitched them,” The veteran’s words came offhanded but he could hear the loathing and wariness in his tone- he did not wholeheartedly believe his accusation but the Vet knew how to weigh down his words. “And given them over to the Shadow just like they probably planned-”
“Veteran now really isn’t the time for such words.” The Skyloftian Knight’s resort sliced through the air and had almost made the Four Sword Hero jump. When had he appeared behind him? “Can you not for the moment?”
“I am just saying-”
“Hey, there they are!”
Necks snapped, Four’s included, in the direction of where the sailor had begun to sprint. Nowhere near the castle gates but instead in the West, five forms appearing in the distance- four walking and the last hanging off the back of one of them.
The heroes plus fairy rushed over without a second thought.
“Are they dead!?”
Wind had exclaimed those words in a moment of panic, eyes wide in a morbid curiosity as they glanced over your paled face in the light of the afternoon sun- you seemed still too. Not moving an inch.
“No!” Wild cried in similar horror, “They fainted! That’s all!”
Gilda didn’t need her brother’s prompt to rush over, her gentle green glow whizzing around your hair in an effort to heal whatever ailed you in that moment.
“We had to take a shrine, there was no other way-” Twilight’s words had come out slightly slurred, his own face looking pale along with the Captain’s and the Traveller’s- Four couldn’t blame them. The Sheikah’s magic from the Champion’s era was a strange one. No one quite liked their teleportation magic, too disorientating for them all excluding the wild blonde from his excessive use of their devices. “Uh, my head-”
Gilda went over each one of them carefully as the small group were led back to the rest, the people of the settlement offering their own help in the form of potions and such of any kind as they rushed about to make an impromptu camp. After all, the skulltula had torn apart most of their settlement already and left them with almost naught to defend themselves with. You were laid to rest on a bedroll, tucked in under a blanket with the careful touches of the Traveller and Champion before all were gathered to talk.
“I’m glad to know you are all okay,”
Time’s voice sounded heavy with both relief and concern during the rush, looking over the group after they were tended to by a maiden scholar with knowledge of medicine- she had practically demanded to help in return for saving her life. “And I’m glad to see you were able to rescue our guest- but what of the Shadow?”
The four shared a look. “It…retreated.”
“Wait. Seriously?”
“Yes, as soon as it reached the light, it seemed.”
“But the light has never stopped it before.” The Hero of the Four Sword brought a finger to his chin in thought, a slight flash of purple dancing in his eyes. “Even when taking the form of a beast, it still stalked the lands when the sun was highest- why stop this time? What could have possibly been the reason?”
The group shared an inquisitive silence.
“Well, the sun has never stopped it but it has seemed to grow weaker under its gleam.” The group glanced over to Sky as he sat himself up on his rocky seat, “Think about it, those many moon cycles ago- The Captain didn’t have much action when he and the Shadow had exchanged blows but when Ranch-hand- I…uh…”
Twilight rolled his eyes, “Just spit it out, knight.”
“Right, uh, anywho- when the Ranch-hand had fought with the monster it seemed to have more power in the oncoming dusk.”
The veteran straightened. “Dusk does bring more shadows than pure light. It would make sense.”
“But what of our time in the forest?” Hyrule asked, “It was darker, more shadows in the shade of the trees- it didn’t seem that strong then either. Angry, but not too powerful.”
Twilight playfully nudged Warrior’s shoulder. “You can thank our Captain for that.”
“Oh hush.”
Sky spoke up once more, “I think Fi’s light may have been the reason, we all see how it reacts to her power. It’s afraid. After all, she was made to seal the darkness and the Shadow is that- darkness.”
They let those words sink in, sharing looks with wild thoughts prancing about in their heads.
“...It didn’t feel that powerful.” The Hero of Hyrule glanced over to your form, situated comfortably in your bedroll and looking much more healthy compared to your earlier sickly expression. “Angry. It was certainly angry and almost suffocatingly so, but the power behind its shifting form didn’t really feel all that…there. I think that’s why it didn’t chase us further and I think that’s why we were able to escape. It’s weak. Too weak.”
“Still strong enough to open a portal?” The eldest didn’t seem all that convinced.
“In the darkness, yes, that’s where it takes its power from.” Confidence bloomed in his gut as the brunette stood a little taller, “The day that (Name) appeared it was late into the night, when it had taken them during our fight the darkness once again overwhelmed the light- these have been the only times that portals have appeared for ages. Don’t you see? It cannot function properly in the sun.”
A sudden wave rolled over the Hero of Time. Dark and guilty, his eyes of ocean blue swirling with conflict as he gaze ran over to your unconscious form. He hadn’t discussed what he had done those few days ago, a secret between both you and his descendant that he wasn’t quite ready to disclose to the group- now was the time however, no matter the look he knew the traveller and (now) the cook would burn into him.
“I have a confession.” Eyes tethered to his form in an instant- no backing down now. “Those days ago, back with the camp at Fort Hateno- I had a plan.”
The Twilight Hero sat straighter- The Old Man continued. “It was intentional, leaving our guest to fend for themself because I had a suspicion that the Shadow was watching us.”
The Hero of Hyrule’s breath stuttered in growing horror and anger. “...what?”
The Wild Hero practically leapt to his feet. “WHAT!?”
The roar grabbed the attention of the nearby settlers, Twilight moving to stand and grab his shoulders. “Champion, please-”
“They told you they could not fight!” The traveller cried, interrupting. “They told us all! They told you and you saw what happened! You did that! That was your fault!”
A few flinched at such a raw blame but the Old Man kept his shoulders squared, face stoic. “And I take full condemnation for such an idiotic plan- but it proved it. The Shadow is watching us.”
The cook ground his teeth, “You didn’t need to see something we all already believed.”
Time would have laughed at the irony of those words- he really did replicate the Ranch-hand in so many ways. To sound like him in this moment would have usually made his heart warm if not for the seething anger behind his tone.
“Seeing is better than believing, we all know that,” He sighed, “But that’s not what I wanted to say- that monster was further proof that the Shadow’s power wavers in the light of the day.”
The smallest hero raised a brow. “How so?”
“It’s positioning- the monster led our guest right towards us, why would it do such a thing? It knew it would take a few of us only moments to cross that river, the Traveller proves that, so why closer? Unless-”
“Unless it wasn’t where it was supposed to be.” The Captain looked up at the realisation, “The Shadow messed up.”
“What does that even mean!?” The champion snapped, throwing his hands up. “The Shadow always messes up- if it were successful in any way it would have killed us all already!”
“It was successful with taking (Name) wasn’t it?” The eldest turned to him. “Both times, both in darkness but when it summoned the Chuchu it messed up. Why did it mess up that time? The only possible explanation is the light.”
The cloud of realisation rained heavy on them all.
The sailor crossed his arms, “But the Shadow was summoning all those monsters! I understand if it was weak in the light but the traveller is saying that it’s weak full stop. This wasn’t just a small camp of monsters, this was an entire herd. Surely in its weak state it shouldn’t be able to summon that many, right? And if it can, shouldn’t it be able to step into the light? It must have enough power for that if it can make a small army.”
Taking a deep breath to control the rage burning in his chest, the Hero of Hyrule spoke once more. “We might not have all the clues here, not yet. But I still think it’s weak, even in that display of horror and intimidation, the power that it gave off felt smaller than it had been for a while.”
“Let’s not forget that it has been months since we last saw this monster.” The Ranch-hand had finally managed to calm his protégé, the blonde more grumpy than enraged. “So that must mean something.”
Silence finally hung.
Their talk was informative, ideas flowing around them all. The Shadow had been pushed to the back of their mind during this long time of rest with nothing to show from its end. They had travelled all over the Champion’s era searching for monsters, for stories, for rumours and for portals but not a whisper in the wind. This sudden return had certainly shook them all but they knew it had been coming, maybe not that day they had found you at the base of that tree, winded and bruised but it was inevitable that the Shadow would one day return.
It would never give up that easily.
A shaky whimper caught their ears and heads turned to your direction, face pinching and lips shaking as you made more noise of distress.
Hyrule didn’t hesitate to move towards you, as did Wild, brushing past the Ordonian Hero to make his way over.
“Are we gonna go check out the castle again?” Wind asked after a moment.
Time shook his head, “No, however we shall in the morning.”
“Okay,” Wind pushed away from the tree he had been leaning against, jogging over to your position too.
After a few following moments of silence, the remaining heroes decided to part also. Twilight stayed by the side of his ancestor however, watching them all go with a heavy heart before turning to look at the eldest as he rested his head in hands.
Time sighed. “I don’t know how I’ll be able to make this up to them.”
Twilight’s hand rested on the older man’s shoulder- it was almost odd to be his comforter when it was usually the other way around. “Just give them time, ancestor.”
And that was that.
----------
Drowning.
Choking.
Blind.
Your hands clawed desperately at the ooze, fighting its weight as it dragged you further and further into the expanse of nothing. Kicking your feet had proved useless, you made no distance in your efforts, only continuing to sink deeper and deeper with no knowledge of where you would end up.
Drowning.
Choking.
Blind.
Where were you? How did you get here? You had opened your eyes and suddenly you were bombarded by the overwhelming feeling of the black sludge surrounding your body. Trapped, no way to fight it. With the consistency of molasses yet versatile like water, you only continued to sink with no hope of resurfacing.
You could not scream.
You could not cry.
You could only wait.
Drowning.
Choking.
Blind.
Then you felt it- the hand wrap around your calf. Sharp nails digging into the skin of your leg as it captured you within its grasp. You could not flail in panic. You could not fight its grip.
Drowning.
Choking.
Blind.
You reached your hand out, begging for someone to save you from this horrid fate. You didn’t wish to die in such a torturing way. Unaware of it all.
But it began to drag you down.
And you were going to die here.
In this horrible, drowning, choking, blinding nothing.
Drowning.
Choking.
Blind-
Your hand was grasped and you spotted it- the light. Seeping through the darkness in smaller beams that grew bigger and bigger as it began to haul you up, up, up- the hand on your calf tried fighting but with this newfound hope in your system you did not yield. Tightening your own hand, you pulled your weight up to greet the surface of the never-ending sludge.
Surviving.
Breathing.
Seeing.
You broke the surface with a heavy gasp, spluttering and coughing. Light surrounded you opposed to the darkness that you had been submerged in and you raised your eyes to look at your savour.
Eyes pooled with kindness looked back.
“(Name)-”
You sat up with a choking gasp, clutching at the blanket encasing your chest.
Eyes wild, you searched the area desperately for traces of that suffocating nightmare only to see that you were laying in a forest, as lush and as green as many were in a scene that slowly brought you back into reality. The trees wavered in the wind, the grass stood tall and you were not drowning in darkness.
Bodies were strewn about the small camp, a fire centring them all. Wild and Hyrule laid only inches away from your sleeping mat in their own, their soft snores light on your ears as you watched them with your pacing heart slowing to a resting thump. Looking around, you could spot a few more of the boys sleeping away with the settlement in the far distance, their torches beacons in the dark.
The dark…
You gulped, glancing around. Surrounded by it, eating away at the borders of your camp, it almost seemed to be watching you, studying you. The light of the fire was the only thing that fought it back, your savour in these desperate times- desperate? Why would it be desperate? Nothing was there.
Unless that nothing was something.
Unless that something was the Shadow.
Cloaked in pitch black, red eyes staring at you from beyond his veil of gloom. Was this what he was waiting for? The night to snatch you up again? Your cockiness would surely lead you to a tortuous death with not an ounce of glory to your name. You had provoked him and now you were destined to die a cruel end.
Something shifted beyond a shady bush.
Your heart kick started with a twisting leap.
You didn’t want to die like this. Not after everything had happened. You had been saved- you were safe! He couldn’t hurt you now! This wasn’t fair!
You pushed yourself to your knees, hellbent on running.
No, this wasn’t it. Not after escaping your fate.
The world muffled as blood pumped loudly in your ears, your shaky, uneven pants returning tenfold as wild eyes stayed focused on the shaking bush. You were not in between trees, you were back in that hallway. Winding and dark, as you watched the shadows slowly seep round the corner with its demonic host just only a few paces behind.
You could not fight but by God you could run.
Eyes peered through the darkness.
You inhaled in suspense.
A fluffy dog pushed its way through the bush.
And suddenly, you were back on the outside.
Collapsing back into your bedroll, you shook. Your pillow muffling your terrified sobs as you heaved and wailed into the comfort of the plush cushion.
It wasn’t real, it wasn’t real. The castle laid quiet in the background within the darkness, the trees acting as a fence between you and your near murder scene. Your mind may have still pushed that horrible notion but you needed to fight it with logic, with a clear mind. Even as tears cascaded down your hot cheeks you needed to see that you were indeed fine, you were indeed safe.
You did not need to add PTSD to the long list of things already wrong with you.
Something gently made contact with your head, the familiar feeling of a wet snout softly burrowing into your hair with frantic sniffs as the canine studied your shaking figure. Nipping at your skin with careful precision as to not actually hurt you, the animal whined and collapsed into a big fluffy heap right next to your shaking body- a boundary between you and the darkness.
After a few moments, you glanced at it.
“...Wolfie?” Wolfie, or Twilight as you knew under the disguise of Twili magic, tilted his head curiously at you. “...what are you doing here?”
The wolf quietly barked- a squeak with maws snapping.
“Right…you can’t talk…” Sniffling, you hiccuped on a breath and reached your hand out carefully, fingers making contact with the poofy fur decorating his chest. “....you’re soft.”
Another quiet bark, you giggled this time at the noise.
“I’m sorry…were you patrolling?” He hummed a whine that you could only believe was a ‘yes’, your head coming to rest upon his paws in an act of seeking comfort- you hoped you weren’t making Twilight uncomfortable. “Sorry for getting in the way.”
Wolfie rested his head atop yours carefully.
“I just-...” You teared up once again, shaking. “It’s so dark and I just couldn’t-”
A deep sound came from within his chest, not a growl or grunt, but a long soft hum that had you fall quiet with only sniffles leaving you. You were tired, you were scared and you wished you were back home with your Mama.
Mama.
You wanted your mama.
She would have held you, even through her grump after you woke her.
“I want my mama,” You sniffed, “I want go home- I hate this fucking place.”
Tightening into a ball, you cuddled closer to the canine. The hero did nothing to fight it, in fact, he pushed his body closer to your own as he curled around your frame protectively. Like a blanket of safety, he kept you covered and made an effort to shield you from the horrors of the outside world. You were not alone in this nightmare, you did not have to isolate yourself and suffer.
You cried yourself to sleep.

The Hag - Lore
Some lore / myth and stuff about my Hag Gluskin.
Brought to you by a Prompt from the Blorbo-Server (Thank you @/brightwingedbat)
Starting off with some Legends
First a classic: In the beginning, people thought she eats children. But she actually just lives in a very dense and deep forest and these Children just got lost there. Won't stop her from collecting their skulls and bones,...
Another classic: Parents will tell their kids to eat up and behave, or else the Crow-Hag will come and eat them.
If you dare to hurt a Bird in her presence, she will send her wrath upon you. You can imagine it like with the Chicken in Zelda - but its mostly crows or birds made of shadow magic The people of the nearby village once witnessed this - they never dare to hurt a bird. And with the time they started to believe she is nothing more than 100(0) birds in a trenchcoat.
As Necromancer some unholy presence goes out from her, affecting her bird friends and making these even more feral. They develop a greedy taste for dead flesh and starting to eat the deceased, of that nearby village - even digging them up. Due to the myth and fear of this crow creature - the village start to offer their deceased in return for their safety. So they basically start to worship Gluskin. Eventually Gluskin vibes with it - and truly offering protection for that village! As long as they provide her with supplies and the dead. (And most importantly: leave her alone) So, don't fuck with her birds or this Village.
On the bad side, another myth that formed: If crows start to gather up on a certain house, people believe that the person that is living there is about to die. With the time it turned into the myth that this person was choosen by the Crow-Hag as offering. So they will sacrifice them and with that the crows disappears again. Which further solidifies the myth. The truth is just: It only happens, if there isn't a natural death for some time. The crows are so used to feast on the dead, they just wait for the next feast. And it will come in form of the sacrifice.
Another Myth that is true (ties a lil into the classic myth from the beginning) Never enter the forest of the Crow-Hag, it will swallow you. The forest in which Gluskin lives is usually very quiet. You rarely hear an animal. Most of the time you only hear the trees making noises from the wind. Or the noise of breaking branches. People think it's haunted. In a way it is - over the years normal animals start to disappear. It's due to the never ending hunger of Gluskins crows. They started to hunt down everything they could find. So if you hear crowing. Run. Srsly. Run,...
---
Now a little about the Hag herself.
She is ancient. Maybe also undead! Why? I come back to that later.
In her early years she was able to talk normaly. But with the years I believe she lost this ability - only grunting and growling as kind of communication. At least she mastered the art of crowing. So there you have a Charr making Bird noises. But she has one very special Bird, she holds very dear and lends her a voice. I also believe she has very bad eyesight. Her eyes might glow bright red, but she can't see very well. She depends on her feathered friends to be her eyes and even providing her food. And the reason she is so fixated to crows / ravens is actually Israfil. (This fucker again)
Here is the idea behind that connection:
The Hag / Gluskin was the Mate of the Charr Israfil posessed by accident. (Related post: About Israfil) They left the Legions behind to live a quiet life far away from all the war - deep in a beautiful and lush forest. Confused and change the Mate came back home. Corrupting not only the body and mind of the Charr, also of his Mate Gluskin, too. And with Israfil starting to drain magic of the surrounding area, the Forest started to die down. It will eventually recover over the upcoming years, but it is never able to return to its former beauty. It not only feels cursed, it also looks like it.
Now something I'm not completely sure about: Either Gluskin is undead or only half of it. But the Magic of Zhaitan is involved here. That also makes her the nekromancer she is today.
Israfil uses her as kind of insurance. In her home lives a shadow crow that holds part of his essence, that makes sure that he can never really die - unless you kill that bird. (Horkrux? Horkrux!)
Gluskin is tasked to take care of this bird - making sure nothing will happen to it. Maybe the essence within this birds also starts to spread - possessing other birds, too Bringing this hungry mess over this area.
I also believe he choose Gluskin out of emotional reasons. He could have just created some creature or whatever. But the deep love of the Charr he posessed, made sure she will keep living.
So with Israfil killed a second time (first time by Valefor by slitting his throat and later by Kying) he returns to Gluskins home and just vibes there. There is no more magic he can drain to recover like after his first death. Aurene even draining all the void magic out of him - Which weakens him more and more every day.
(Related Post: Story Summary of Valefor)
So he has no other choice to seek shelter at the place where everything started. Now he just tries to survive. He is terrified to die for real. (no more big words or actions from him)
But one day he will eventually meet his final demise by Valefors hand.
-- The End
And so the Hag-Lore also became Israfil-Lore.

✨affectionate ask✨ hullo, my new friend!! I remember we met through my review post and I'm very glad we did. I know we haven't really had any conversations yet (which can always change, ofc) but I'm still grateful we've become mutuals and in my gut, i feel like you're a kindly soul and I'm always open to yap! esp if you want a buddy to yap to about the legend of zelda, the Magnus archives, and gokurakugai 💕💕💕💕💕
me when liking the post that says i should like it to receive an ask actually receives me an ask: :o
not but seriously i should’ve seen this coming hshshsh
anyhow, i totally agree!! i’ve not been doing much writing for reasons, so i’ve not dared show my face around the community(s) much the last few months, but i shall make my glorious return (and hopefully soon too) /silly
likewise, i’ve also not done much reading, digitally or physically for that matter, which i also need to catch up on (there’s a lot of books with bookmarks in lying around here, it’s not funny anymore)
but yeah, all that yapping aside, i really hope i can interact with people more again when i’ve recovered my emotional energy!! ngl i have been feeling a little lonely on here for some time now, like my blog’s in a different orbit, but i’m hoping to launch myself into other’s trajectory again!! all that to say, i’d love to talk more, about whatever really :]
and my view on you hasn’t changed either, so i’m also happy we’ve become moots!! i think you’re cool and have your fandom-heart in the right place, meaning understanding the importance of and encouraging engagement with people and creators of a fandom, which is a situation i’ve been giving much thought myself in general too (obviously i think your normal heart is in the right place too haha idek if this is a metaphor that works in english but we’ll roll with it)
also, the magnus archives… it’s less of a fixation by now and more of an obsession, really. i’ve gone against my very nature and restrained myself from looking at fanart and searching for merch bc i want to keep myself spoiler-free so i can spam my friends, who are further in than me, with my theories and be very smug when i catch on to sth
me about to go off on a tangent in the gc:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
anywayyyyy, to conclude my rambling, thanks so much for the ask!! as i said, I’d love to talk more about whatever, i promise i normally know how to talk, just not right now apparently lol<3
and to everyone else here… i might reenter the kitchen soon to cook; do you like your fics sunny-side up or scrambled? too bad, i only ever make them scrambled. so i hope you look forward to the same irregular, incoherent posting schedule that i’ve been serving since the beginning :]

Tomyo's Backlog Adventure: 1 Year Later
How it's going
It's been a little over a year since I made the backlog list. Admittedly I did not get through it much simply because I was extremely busy as an artist all that time. Initially I think I hoped I'd get a decent chunk through the DS games only to really never break through much.
What I got/played since
So what are the games I haven't listed?
Well let's see; Sonic and The Black Knight, Wii Music, Pokemon Pearl, Some Japanese Gameboy games of Hamtaro and Tamagotchi, the Dream Eye, Style Savvy Trendsetters, and as of this week, Tomodachi Collection and a substantial amount of Sim 3's content. (Edit: I can't remember if the islands HM DS games and sonic free riders were added on since) There is also a number of switch content that I just refuse to mentally process. Part of making the list was to address how I had gone feral with game collection but was not actually playing the games. I would say in some ways having that list helped me curb my unchecked spending which as you can guess got widely ignored for switch downloads. The irony is I would say I did a lot of switch gaming as well. Notable releases like Sonic Frontiers and Tears of the Kingdom were some of the games I ended up borrowing from the library and spending way too much time on. During the start of the year I was heavily gaming Splatoon 1 only to fail at my mission to collect all the gear before the servers went defunct. There's also been a part of me that spend the last 6 or so months hyper fixating on Tamagotchis. While not traditional games, they do indeed simply function as mini game systems and part of me sees the progression in them as my "gaming time".
What I want to get
Admittedly the urge to buy is flickering in me somewhat. Why? The rise is 3DS game costs. Now with the e shop closed, there is a renewed interest in content that had gone untouched for a while. The big wake up call for me was hearing Tomodachi life now goes for around $100 these days. My other experience in the last year is hunger for 3 things; The sonic games I missed during the GameCube/Wii era, Cooking Mama, and the Japanese series model debut. So here's my list:
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask remakes
Legend of Zelda: A link between Worlds
Project Mirai with Cards
Nintendogs 3DS (while I have a digital download, I want physical)
Yet another copy of New Leaf
Story of Seasons
Pokemon Sun and Ultra Sun (the only two 3ds games I don't have from the mainline)
Pretty much every Cooking Mama game
Smash for 3DS and Wii U
ZombiU
Ducktales Remaster
Sonic Riders Zero Gravity
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Shuffle
Loosely a few Japanese games like the soul eater one or the switch model debuts
Fashion Dreamer
Various Tamagotchis and Gigapets
Pocket Sakura
That Sega Eyetoy game
What I want to do
Some of the biggest hurdles are playing through Pokemon and Bokumono games on my list for very different reasons. Bokumono games are always a struggle because the require time being set aside to both plan out the game period and to marathon game days, especially during the 3DS era where this is a lot of mechanics to juggle. On the opposite end there is Pokemon to which most of the games on the list I want to stream my playthroughs as it's in part a ribbon master challenge. Pokemon games will probably stay put aside for an undetermined amount of time but I do want to clear out a lot of Bokumonos.
Right now I have been working through ANB to dizzying results. At some point recently I became very frustrated with the loop and set it aside leading to a hyper focus on FoMT's remake which is super easy and will likely hit my clear in just a day or two more of gameplay(my majors goals are to go through mining and fishing in the upcoming winter season and return to go for endgame houses and achievements at a later time). Admittedly I want to return to the battle that is ANB despite its frustration; feeling like I'm creating the progress is half the enjoyment is the struggle. Part of me even forgets what my end goal reach is for that one but my best guess at the moment is mainline story completion, yuri romancing, and full transition.
Onwards from that would likely be tackling either Trio of Towns or Animal Parade. Animal parade is certainly the harder of the two to pick up since it often requires the most effort to set up but of the two, I find it the more accessible story wise as simply every trio of Towns is overwhelming.
As for the casual dailies; Wild World and My Little Shop have been hard to call finished but also do not really have enough to move forward with. MLS is a pretty repetitive mini game series with a vague end goal of achieving clovers so I might just declare it finished with anyways. Wild World slowed to a crawl simply because I missed certain bug and fish seasons and on top of that is hard to enjoy when there is so little to do in game for progression outside of nonstop fishing/bug catching. Wild World might end up ending prematurely with just the encyclopedia completions since the act of endless money making for a house/charity doesn't appeal deeply to me when it is just an end goal. What might start up instead is a series on Nintendo's (and friends) various fitness trackers; My personal trainer walking, my weight loss coach, Wii fit U, the pokewalker, pocket Pikachu, pocket hello kitty, Pokemon go pikmin bloom, and for funsies the Fitbit and my phone's step tracker cuz it's cute. There's a personal love that Miiblr just exists here there's a good number of fitness things that exists around the miis. Part of me can loose the idea that I enjou watching the meters go up on these devices as the gameify walking. My Wii fit U meter has been carried with me for a while now as the goal to see the distance walked and the heights climbed is a huge enjoyment. Seeing as there are other counters, I see myself wanting to just reach a point carrying all of them for the fun of it.
Some games to stream; Pokemon Channel, Wii Music, Space Channel 5, Sonic Adventure, shenmue, and Time Stalkers all make the cut. As obviously mentioned so would most of my Pokemon games if not for being put on the back burner. Possibly towards the end of the month, I might return to some tiktok streaming with Wii Music and Pokemon channel (especially since this one is pretty camp themed). The dreamcast games are a little more tricky because I have a set up in mind but it's just hard to achieve currently. The other thing preventing streaming is my aforementioned job which takes up most of my nights these days. While most of these games are pretty easy to play in one sitting, the bigger rpgs might have difficulty.
And then finally friend plays; sonic 06 has been long on hold as I keep not visiting the very friend that lent me his PS4. At the same time, the latest game has not been decided for my yearly D trip yet; the choices stand as almost certainly Sonic Free Riders, Time Stalkers, Nintendoland, and shenmue.
As it stands I'd like to get out of the way 14-20 games on the list this year; a bunch already half played, some simply shallow games to begin with, 2-4 with the power of friendship, and about 4-7 requiring actual time investment. Additionally out of the 76 on the OG list; at least 7 of them are going to be shelved for now (the Pokemon ribbon master play throughs). Of that 69 (nice) left, 7 are known hold off, 6 are wrap ups, 3 require additional meddling, and 12 simply required setting aside time to play. There's still tons of games but since my art career is a bit on hold atm, I would like to delve into these games more this year.

Hello nonie! I was actually looking forward for this request!! I love playing video games so much so this was fun, and I also love these boys!! I based the games I chose entirely on my personal love for Nintendo! I hope that is fine!! I hope you like them!! (Also I have to post these on mobile bc we are locked out for the moment, if there are any errors I’ll fix them ASAP)
____________________________
Iwaizumi
The silence was unnerving, were it not for the happy racing music the tension would be unbearable.
Iwaizumi sat on the rug at the foot of his bed, brows furrowed and gaze intense, fixed on the television that stood on a desk before them. Y/N bit their lip as the race started, sitting on the bed as their legs lay at the sides of their boyfriend. This was the one and only all or nothing, if they won they would get a fairly deserved box of chocolates, and the sweetest treat of them all, victory .
It was a normal afternoon as every other, Y/N was out and about on their boyfriend Iwaizumi’s house, it was bound to be a lazy day, loose shirts and pants were worn comfortably by the two of them.
The sun was setting when a wonderful idea occurred to Y/N, mario kart; three races, two players and one winner.
“Hajime…” They smiled as they leaned on his shoulder.
His attention was immediately directed to them, as he lay his head on theirs, humming in acknowledgement.
“How about we play Mario Kart? Three races and a box of chocolates for the winner, what do you say?”. Iwaizumi furrowed his brows, thinking about it, and with a smile he stood up.
“Deal.”
Y/N yelped as he wrapped his arms around them to lift them up, carrying them to his room. The game was officially on.
They sat down next to each other on the bed, playfully elbowing each other, the first race was just about to start. Y/N took the lead on the first lap and Iwaizumi, as hard as he tried, couldn’t keep up.
Feeling the need to concentrate in order to win, Iwaizumi slid to the floor closer to the television, Y/N shuffled to the position they currently held, he could feel their breath on his neck, intense.
The next round seemed to be his, which Y/N took with little grace, sticking their tongue out to their boyfriend, which turned to them with a very smug-looking smile.
However that meant this was the round that mattered most. The first lap was down and Y/N was once more in the lead, with their boyfriend close behind.
If they kept it up like this he would have to admit defeat; he stopped furrowing his brows as an idea came to mind and an evil smirk slid onto his face. Eyes still fixed on the game, as the second round carried on he shuffled to the side, now both of Y/N’s legs were hanging at his right side, they did not pay this too much attention considering how all-out for the win they were.
Last lap, Iwaizumi was just behind, Y/N was now smirking, glare in occasionally screaming at the tv as they doged green shells and banana peels.
In the spur of a moment however, a strong hand pulled them down in one swift movement, making them slide right into Hajime’s lap, whose hand returned to the controller just in time, as Y/N let go of theirs, taken aback by the sudden change of position and the sensation of falling. Their car stopped just as Iwaizumi’s crossed the finish line.
“Seems like I won Y/N”, he said contempt, eyes closed as he innocently smiled at them.
However, when he looked at Y/N who was laying on his lap his smile faltered, he usually was the intimidating one but good lord did they look mad.
“Iwaizumi! How dare you!?” They snapped at them, clearly angry at the boy, shuffled out of his lap and onto the floor next to him. They were about to say something else when strong hands held their arms, eyes meeting their boyfriends slightly panicked expression.
“Don’t worry Y/N, the victory was yours truly, and I promise I will get you your chocolates”. However, he knew it would take more than that to get them to forgive him, still he would say their current adorable pouty expression was worth it.
Kuroo
This was all too familiar to Kuroo, Y/N was laying with their head on his lap, however they were far from focused from him, instead they were intently fixated on the game in their hands. He did not mind, considering he was used to this antics from Kenma, so he absentmindedly played with their hair as he read a book he intended to catch up on.
They were thoroughly focused, tongue slightly sticking their tongue out and once in a while yelping or jumping, clearly struggling to pass a level. They squealed, Kuroo stopped reading and looked at them, adorable as the light lit up their face, squinting at the difficulty of the boss they were facing.
Kuroo ran his hand through their hair, “Hard level, kitten?”
Y/N eyes drifted to him momentarily as they paused the game, a small pout forming on their lips as they nodded. “I can’t seem to pass it, I can’t figure it out”
They showed him the game, Legend of zelda, stuck in a boss fight with only half a heart left. Kuroo hadn’t exactly played that one game yet, but he had played enough Legend of Zelda with Kenma to know what this was all about. Y/N returned their focus to the game, completely drifting away from Kuroo. He was not interested in the book anymore, he needed their attention but knew he wouldn’t get it until they were satisfied.
“Y/N, I have an idea” He spoke up, making them momentarily flash him a glance to acknowledge that he had got their attention.
“Let’s see who is able to pass the level first, if I win you have to come with me to get some coffee”.
They paused the game and looked at their boyfriend who was smiling down at them, squinting their eyes they sat down, “And if I win?”.
“Then I’ll go and fetch you coffee while you play, sounds good kitten?”. A small smile spread on their face.
“You got yourself a deal Tetsu”. Kuroo smirked and planted a kiss on their cheek, gabbing the console.
Five times, five times each of them had tried to pass the level and failed, however they had gotten the hang of it, it was now just up to the execution.
While Kuroo was good playing video games, there were two people he could never win to; Kenma and Y/N. It was Y/N’s turn now, they had already gotten the hang of it, it was just a matter of time before they passed the level.
Kuroo had to do something if he wanted to get you outside with him for a while, and he had to do it fast. He had also gotten the hang of the game, he just needed one more round but this one seemed to be the one for you.
He turned to look at Y/N, their lips pouted as their eyes moved avidly from side to side of the screen, that's when the idea came to his head.
Kuroo smirked, he scooted closer over to them, pretending to look at the screen as they were almost about to win. He looked at their sides, vulnerable as their hands were holding the console. Playing innocent, he ran a hand down their back, stopping right on the middle.
Y/N squirmed out of Kuroo’s grasp, gasping for air and trying their best not to drop the console. His hands however did not move from their ticklish spot.
“Let...go...of..me Tersurou!” They begged in between laughs. The game long forgotten, they managed to scurry away.
“Your laugh is adorable you know?”
Y/N looked at the screen, the legend game over plastered across it. Glaring, they turned to their boyfriend, who was still smiling innocently.
“You know how pissed I am right?” They huffed as they crossed their hands over their chest. Grabbing the console they started to leave to the other room.
“Just so you know, we are not getting any coffee”
Kuroo pouted, rushing to hug them from behind. “Even if it comes with your favorite cake?”
Y/N raised and eyebrow and smiled, “Fine ...I just have to actually pass this level”
“You got it kitten”
Kenma
It was a normal day at your house, Y/N and their boyfriend naturally playing video games. Taking turns to choose exactly which game to play. Leaning softly against each other, ocasionally turning to kiss Kenma’s cheek as he watched them play Detroit. He loved the story and the game, however the two of them had been playing for a while now and he wanted something a little more challenging.
“Let’s play smash” he suggested, a small smile on his face.
He knew Y/N well and playing competitive with them was one of his favorite things, they were a worthy match to his wit and it amused him. It was always a close call, however he knew they could only play for so much ,considering their competitive nature.
“You know me well Kozume” smiling they stood up and changed the game, mind set on the challenge, their boyfriend could easily out best them, but not today.
Kenma is not a known as a prodigy strategiest for nothing, he knew exactly how to read their every move, specially since he had grown accustomed to them after dating for so long.
Y/N knowing this all too well, had developed a dynamic strategy, and while fooling Kozume was surely a hard job, they had mastered the element of surprise.
Kenma was pleasantly surprised by this, they were putting a challenge harder than the usual. They were both down to one life each was down to one life and he was taking too mucho damage for his liking.
Drastic measures were to be taken, if their game was surprise he would resort with a little trick up the sleeve of his own.
Cupping their cheek he placed a soft kiss on their lips, knowing exactly how things would go down.
Their eyes opened wide, taken aback by the unusual boldness of the usually collected boy. They wouldn’t go as far as to say that affection from him was unusual, as Kenma liked the attention between closed doors. He liked to be next to them, specially when they wrapped their arms around him or just made small contact, but to kiss them out of nowhere? That was new.
They found this pleasant, sinking into his sweet lips, oblivious to his true intentions. As soon as they closed their eyes he took the chance he was looking for, attacking them as much as he could until he was the ultimate winner.
A small smirk on his face as he pulled back. Now he jus had to live up to the consequences of his actions.
Y/N blinked as they looked the screen, then at Kenma, and back at their screen.
Oh
“You smug little...” they looked at him, squinting their eyes. “I can’t believe I fell for that, you cheater! That is not fair!” All composure lost, they were more annoyed at themselves for not even suspecting anything out of the odd gesture.
Kenma shrugged, not trying to hide the triumphant smirk on his face; “I did nothing wrong...maybe you should one up your game Y/N”, he placed a kiss on their cheek “however, you were an interesting challenge”
“Oh it’s on Kozume”

Link x Reader - Together
This is an oldie I wrote for a friend!! I hope you like it //sweats
-----
The gentle breeze softly blew your hair away from your face, tucking it behind your elvish ears. It felt almost as if it were caressing you, the contact sending light shivers down your spine. Closing your eyes, you inhaled the fresh air, smiling to yourself. Serene moments like this brought you joy, and you only wished they would last forever. There were no worries, no tears, no pain, no sorrow... Just the perfect view of Loftwings soaring through the azure sky.
Living in Skyloft was spectacular. Everyday promised something new, whether it was learning how to wield a blade in the Knight Academy or helping a kind pacifist monster transform into a human. Weird, right? But nevertheless exciting. How could one get bored, when they lived in such an amazing town above the clouds? It was impossible for everyone. Well – almost everyone.
You, on the other hand, were a complete different story. There was only so much you could do on a floating island, and in the few years you had been living, you had practically done all of it. Heck, you had even thrown yourself off of the edge of the town just so one of the Knights would come to your rescue once. That's what you meant when you said you had done everything – it included even the extreme. You got scolded for it after, of course, but seeing Pipit's cute, angry, yet worried expression made it worth it. There was one thing, however, that brought you even the littlest of joy, and that was day-dreaming. You couldn't help the little questions that popped up in your head.
What's out there?
What's it like?
Is there a place beyond the clouds that's yet to be discovered?
Those were the questions that made your gears spin; the reason that you even bothered to venture out of your house during the day. They were the reason that you demanded to be able to learn how to fight, despite being a female. It was the reason. It was the only reason you needed. Oneday, you would put a stop to your constant questions and daydreams, and you would find out everything for yourself. That’s what you kept telling yourself, anyway. There was always the possibility of you chickening out before that happened, seeing as you didn’t have much in the way of courage. And… What if there wasn’t anything to be discovered down there?! You could fall for years with no hope of anyone saving you, because you would be so far down that they wouldn’t be able to catch up to you. Anyway, Loftwings were too scared to fly beneath the clouds, so how were you even going to get to the legendary “surface” mentioned in all those books you and Zelda read as kids? Besides, even if there was a surface, what would you do after discovering it? Abandon everything and go live there? Would everyone say goodbye to their Loftwings for good and follow you? You didn’t think you could handle bidding farewell to your feathered friend – not forever, anyway. It was like family to you, and there wasn’t a day that you didn’t have it by your side.
A heaving sigh broke the tranquillity of your moment and it caused you to spin around, your gaze fixating on the back of a dirty-blonde haired boy sitting down, legs hanging off the edge of a wooden platform bolted into the floating island.
Link.
It was hard not to notice his slumped shoulders, and you realised he must be upset about something. Wondering if you should check on him or not, your feet started to move in his direction. Then something caused you to stop.
That boy, was Link. Someone that you’d had a crush on since you were kids. He was kind, calm and collected, cool, and all together amazing. He had his downfalls though, and one happened to be his laziness. Then again, who was perfect, right? You could remember how Zelda had to punch him awake at times in Instructor Owlan’s classes, causing you to howl with laughter. Both you and Link always got into trouble for it after, but you didn’t seem to mind, and neither did Link, who would always shake it off with morphing his perfect teeth into a grin. You were pretty close back then, but as time went on, your feelings grew, and since then, you kept a subtle distance. Not a day went by when you didn’t wonder whether you should tell him the truth about how you felt.
Didn’t mean he would accept your feelings.
As much as it hurt, it always felt like the relationship between the two of you wasn’t as strong as the one he shared with Zelda.
Especially when his father disappeared.
You could remember the day like it was only yesterday. Rain poured down from the sky like there was no tomorrow, soaking the land. A hoard of monsters were attacking Skyloft, and the knights were sent into battle. Link’s father, was one of them. The fight was long and fierce, and the stormy weather didn’t help in their favour. In the end, they won, but his father… Did not return. You weren’t there to comfort the boy, either, nor did you know until the next day. Where were you when this was all going on?
Writing a love letter, to the boy who just lost his dad.
The memory was never going to leave your mind or stop haunting your dreams. It would be stuck with you forever. You had waited until the storm had cleared before skipping out of your house, clutching an envelope with a heart seal stamped on it. Grinning once you caught sight of the boy you loved, you ran over – then stopped.
He was kneeling in front of a grey tombstone, crying his beautiful cerulean orbs out. Your eyes widened in shock when you caught a glimpse of his father’s name on it, the words “Missing In Action” replacing what would’ve said “Here Lies” or “R.I.P.”. You were about to run to him but stopped yourself as soon as you saw the blonde hair of your best friend who was kneeling next to him and had her arms wrapped around his torso while he cried into her shoulder. That was when your heart snapped, and you teared the letter up throwing it off the town and watching as the torn up pieces scattered in different directions, never to be seen again. Ever since then, you had kept away.
Link eventually got his smile back, but you never did. Well, it wasn’t what it used to be, anyway.
The boy who stole your affections had questioned your aloofness on countless occasions, all to which you simply responded to with a light shrug of your shoulders. There was no point in getting close to him, especially if you were just going to get your heart trampled upon for the second time. You couldn’t bear the pain of it.
Yet you still found yourself moving towards him.
The soft sound of your footsteps must have alerted him of your presence, and he spun around just in time to catch you sitting down beside him. The words wouldn’t come out of your mouth as you tried to say something, nervousness taking over. This was Link, your childhood friend who you didn’t have any trouble speaking to back then, but now was different. Your vocal chords felt constricted and wouldn’t so much as let out a sound.
Come on, (Name), you can do this…!
“Hi.”
You widened your eyes when a sound broke the unnerving silence. That one word, however, didn’t come from your own lips, but the boy sitting next to you, a smile painted on his own.
“H-hi,” you stuttered. “Y-you l-look sad so I-I though you needed c-co—”
“Company?” he finished, grin never leaving him.
“Yeah!!” you yelled, louder than needed. Your cheeks heated up as you covered your mouth in embarrassment. Link only laughed, making you giggle slightly in response. You felt your nerves ease and found yourself able to speak to him normally, like nothing had happened to make you grow apart. “So, what’s bothering you?”
Once again, the dirty-blonde haired boy sighed, before turning to you. The way his blue eyes twinkled made you speechless, causing you to once again realise how handsome he was.
“(Name)… Have you ever wondered… If there’s something out there – beneath the clouds? Maybe a whole new world that we have yet to discover? Faced with dangers far greater than the monsters here that come out at night… Holding treasures beyond our wildest dreams…?”
You smiled, something tugging at your heartstrings when you realised he had the same dreams that you did. “Every single day.”
Link’s smile got brighter, as if upon realisation that someone actually understood him, someone didn’t think he was crazy. Not even Zelda had shared his views on the realm below, but you. You were a different story.
“My dad… Used to tell me stories about the surface,” his voice cracked, “before he…”
You took this as a que to wrap your arms around his shoulders, feeling him stiffen before slowly returning the gesture. He relaxed in your embrace, the pace of his heartbeat slowing back down to what it was before.
“Yeah…” you changed the subject, “Zelda and I used to read about it back when we were kids. She told me the legends of the Goddess Hylia, and the Hero dressed in Green. She used to want to go down there, even more than I did. Nowadays, whenever I ask her about it, she’ll shake it off by calling it ‘some childish fantasy’. It hurts, kind of feels like I’ve lost a friend at times…”
“And here I thought no one understood me,” Link replied, pulling away to look you in the eyes once again. “But you, (Name), you’re different. You want to go see the same things I want to – live the same dreams I want to live.”
You nodded, “yeah.”
“(Name)… I need to ask you something.”
“Go ahead.”
He took your hands in his, gulping. “Why did we… Why did we grow apart?”
There it was, the question you were begging to the Goddess he wouldn’t ask. Then again, reflecting back on your childhood, you weren’t exactly one to be lucky.
“I…I…” you began, casting your gaze down to the floor. You wanted to tell him so badly, but at the same time, you couldn’t face the rejection. You were friends, and you didn’t want him knowing how you felt to change a thing. You’d seen it happen before. One would go confess their love for their long-time friend to have them never spoken to by their love interest again.
Never. I won’t let that happen to Link and me, even if that means I’ll never tell him how I really feel.
Link lifted you chin up to face him with his right hand before gripping your left one again.
“It’s okay,” he smiled, “you don’t have to tell me today, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want an answer eventually.”
“Thanks, Link,” you smiled, relieved he wasn’t going to push you into replying, but a newfound worry forming when you realised that someday you would have to tell him. But this was Link, right? He wouldn’t hate you for it… Would he?
“Someday, I’m going to find out what’s beneath this sky,” he grinned, “and you’re coming with me.”
You nodded, “yeah! We’ll find out…”
“Together,” you both said in unison, laughing together at your promise. Everything between the two of you was back to normal and you couldn’t be happier.
Or so you thought.
.~*~Together~*~.
It had been a few months since you sat down with Link and talked to him for the first time in a while, and things couldn’t have been more perfect between the two of you – well, unless you were dating, but that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. You had started hanging out more, and it didn’t take Zelda long to figure out your feelings for him, constantly teasing you about it and making up ship names.
“What about… (N)ink?” she would say, and you would just laugh.
“That sounds like something you would find in a bathroom,” you would tease, nudging her slightly.
But today wasn’t a time for laughing or having fun, because something terrible had happened.
After Link had won the race and become a senior knight, he and Zelda went riding on their Loftwings. All of a sudden, a hideous and ferocious beast had shot up through the clouds and swallowed Zelda. It left the whole of Skyloft in fear of both her wellbeing and their own. You were scared out of your skin, but Zelda had to be alive! You could feel it… No, she was! She would come back to Skyloft unharmed and everything would be okay… Yeah… Everything would be okay…
To your greatest relief, Link wasn’t swallowed up by the giant man-eating monster and was safe in his own dormitory. He did, however, get a concussion, and now you were fretting to see if he was okay. The Headmaster of the Knights Academy, Zelda’s father, who you liked to call ‘Mr Unibrow’ behind his back, assured you that the boy was going to be okay, and refused to let you see him until he woke up. You knew that he was only doing this so you wouldn’t lose it over worry and grief for Zelda’s possible death, but you couldn’t stand the thought of losing Link too. That cerulean eyed boy meant everything to you, and you couldn’t survive without him.
You were so deep in thought that you didn’t notice the door open. The Headmaster put a hand on your shoulder, the contact startling you.
“Sir?” you questioned, looking up into his kind brown orbs with fear and worry. This was it… The moment you had been waiting for and dreading at the same time. Any minute now and he would tell—
“He’s awake.”
As soon as you heard those words, you dashed into the room, sitting beside the dirty-blonde and hugging him tightly.
“(Name), I—” he winced.
You immediately let go, gasping. “Sorry, Link! I shouldn’t have been so careless!”
“It’s okay,” he smiled.
“How are you feeling?”
“Not good… Zelda—”
“I know,” you cut him off, “but in this situation, she wouldn’t want us to panic, she’d want us to find a way to overcome the fear and find a way to resolve the matter.”
“You’re right…” he was about to get up but you stopped him.
“No,” you stated, “rest.”
He sighed, shifting into a lying down position and wrapping his arms around you, the both of you soon falling asleep.
.~*~Together~*~.
A sound rang in your ears, like someone talking, though it was hard to make out. It caused you to stir and you soon found yourself waking up in the middle of the night, much to your annoyance. It was so hard to get back to sleep once this happened, and even harder to wake up in the morning. Once again, you closed your eyes, but that didn’t last for long, as they snapped open as soon as you realised something.
Link.
Link wasn’t next to you.
You felt the warm space beside you, and you figured that he couldn’t have gotten up long ago. Pulling yourself together, you got up and raced out the door.
(E/c) orbs searched every corner of the town, but you couldn’t find Link anywhere.
He’ll probably come back later.
You reasoned with yourself, turning to go back to the dormitories when someone called you from behind.
“(Name)?”
“Link,” you replied, spinning around, eyes studying his form. He was now wearing his green knight’s uniform, but what shocked you was the sword he carried on his back. “I-is that…”
“The Master Sword,” he nodded, “yeah.”
“H-how, what.. What are you… Why do you…”
He sighed, knowing that these questions couldn’t be avoided. “Fi, come out.”
“Yes, Master Link,” a monotonous foreign voice answered as a beautiful woman appeared next to him. Your eyes widened in awe. The woman was floating, and a strange blue light encased her form. She couldn’t have been from this world, and the way Link seemed so calm around her shocked you.
“Explain,” you crossed your arms.
“I am a sword spirit, servant of the great goddess, Hylia,” Fi stated. “Your friend, Zelda, is alive, and I am here to help the re-incarnation of the chosen hero find her.”
“No way… Link is…”
“I couldn’t believe it, either,” the boy admitted. “(Name), look; I’ve already spoken with Mr Unibrow about it and he’s allowed me to take time off the Academy to look for Zelda. I’ll be fine, don’t worry.”
“I know that, but…” you intertwined your fingers with his, “you promised… That we’d go explore the surface together…”
He gave you a sad smile in response, “I know, but… I won’t be able to concentrate with you there. I know you’re strong, and I know you can take care of yourself but… I’ll just get distracted, and what if something happens to you? It would be too much, and once I save one of you, it would be too late to save the other. I just…I can’t risk losing you, too…”
“I understand,” you gave him a sad smile of your own before sending him off. “Go find Zelda, and bring her back home.”
Link smiled, giving you one last hug until he would return.
“Master Link? We must go now. I sense Zelda’s aura is moving. We have a 50% chance of finding her straight away if we leave now,” Fi reminded him.
“Good luck…” you whispered, slowly backing away.
“(Name), wait!” Link called out to you. You looked up, tilting your head at him. “Just incase I don’t come back… Please tell me why you started ignoring me…”
“Come back unharmed and I’ll tell you,” you felt the words getting stuck in your throat. “Find Zelda and come back home…”
Then he left, taking a piece of your heart with him.
.~*~Together~*~.
It had been six months since you last saw Link, and worrying wasn’t helping you at all. Pipit made sure to alert you each time he visited, but you wouldn’t go and see him – you wouldn’t until the journey was over, and Zelda was back safe and sound. All this time, you had practically locked yourself in your room. (H/c) hair had grown longer and (e/c) eyes had lost their spark. Everyone at the Academy was so worried about you – even Groose, who promised not to fight with Link for two whole months if you came out, but you wouldn’t listen to anyone. You wouldn’t start living properly again until you were sure Link was alive, Zelda too.
The door to your room burst open and you shot up, finding Pipit panting at the doorway.
“Pip! I told you not to come into my ro—”
“It’s Link. He and Zelda have returned.”
You wasted no time in rushing out the doorway, shouting a quick “thank you!” to Pipit as you ran to the Goddess Statue, where you knew he’d be waiting.
“Link,” you breathed, sprinting forward and embracing him tightly. The sound of his heartbeat was enough to calm your racing one. He was alive. He was safe.
You stayed like that for a few minutes before he finally spoke up.
“Remember when I asked you to tell me why we grew apart and you wouldn’t?”
You gulped and nodded in reply.
“Well, now, you don’t need to.”
He smiled, pulling out from his pocket a worn-out envelope with a faded heart stamp on it. It looked like it had been hastily glued together after being torn apart. You broke away from him, shaking your head in disbelief.
“That’s the… That’s not…”
“I found the pieces scattered across the surface on my journey,” he explained, “so I glued it together and read it.”
You felt tears form in your eyes, “Link, I…”
“It’s okay, you don’t have to explain anything,” he wiped your tears away with his thumb before kissing your cheek.
“I-I…”
“Does that answer your question?” he smiled, to which you giggled in reply.
“I think you’ll have to be a bit clearer~”
He silenced you with a kiss, causing you to widen your eyes as you melted into it.
At that instant, all of your worries faded away, because you were together with the one you loved, and that was all that mattered.

Little biographies of each of my SIs below - post inspired by @benobiships!
From left to right
Fandom: Breath of the Wild - with a few modifications. Unbeknownst to most people (my SI included) the Champions didn't die - they got put into resurrection chambers, complete with puzzles to unlock and discover them. Is She Me?: This is one of my SIs who is a bit more of an OC than exactly being me, as far as personality goes. Like me, she thinks she's kind of clever (and to a degree she is), she's silly, she can come off a bit clumsy sometimes, and is sometimes lacking in the commonsense department. Her interests are pretty different than mine - she's fixated on the old Sheikah tech that's around, and desperately wants to get into a shrine. She's fairly in tune with the spirits and other mystical beings in Zelda-verse, because she's a Chosen One like Link/Zelda (though her role is much smaller). She's also hilariously weak like myself and doesn't know when to quit (also like myself). She can become easily hyper-fixated by ancient things, which is not so much like irl me. Role: My SI grows up in Kakariko Village. While people are nice enough, and Impa kind of takes care of her, she always feels like an outsider. She is not a Sheikah herself, and that is obvious. She often goes to visit the other Sheikah out in Hateno and Akkala, to learn about the tech and everything. However, she becomes frustrated with not being allowed to research certain things ("the shrines are for the Champion, don't touch them"), so she runs away. Impa knew that she was a Chosen One, part of the legend, and panics a bit that she's run away. But unfortunately, Kakariko cannot spare to send anyone to find her, with the Yiga Clan's returned presence. And thus begins her journey to ultimately resurrect all the Champions (starting with Urbosa, followed by Mipha, Daruk, and Revali). She later meets Link (and Zelda once the world is saved). F/O(s): Romantically, Urbosa and Mipha (sometimes as a polyamory, but typically a V if anything). Platonically, Daruk, Revali, Link, Zelda.

Fandom: Star Trek TOS Is She Me?: Very literally. She is me but through time travel shenanigans she ends up in the future (Star Trek is the future!!!) on the USS Enterprise. She even used to watch the Star Trek tv show! Very literally me. Over time as she becomes a science officer and computer specialist of the future, she diverges from me a bit, as her time on Vulcan helps her calm her emotions, and she learns to defend herself a little bit. And Starfleet grows more discipline in her. Role: Once she orients herself to being spontaneously transported to the future and gets through the grieving of losing everything, she starts trying to learn and grow on the ship, with the story that she is McCoy's niece (Everyone kinda knows this isn't true but opt not to question it). Kirk and McCoy take it upon themselves to take care of her while she acclimates, and Spock gets roped in as well. He kind of knows she has a crush on him, but he doesn't really know what to do about it or how he feels, although over time he figures out both of those things. He helps teach her about technology and science in the future, and she is kind of like his apprentice. Eventually they confess their feelings to each other. After some time, it is decided that it is too dangerous for Wendy to stay on the ship long term. Now that she has acclimated to being in the future, they want her to go to school on Vulcan and properly train for Starfleet/Science Officer duties. She is super scared to be away from everyone but ends up doing it. She and Spock bond before that. She goes to school, makes some friends, some shenanigans happen (including a traumatic event of someone else trying to break her bond with Spock), and then the Enterprise comes back to pick her up after some time. F/O(s): Romantically, Spock. Platonically, Kirk and McCoy (who waffle between familial and best friend depending on the day tbh), and the entire bridge crew. Amanda and Sarek are her in-laws and she loves them like family.

Fandom: Fantasy setting Royalty AU - an AU entirely of my own creation, in a fantasy setting that allows for magic, different sentient species, etc. Crossover with all faves and their verses. Is She Me?: She looks like me, but in fancy dresses. Our personalities are fairly different though. She's a very magnanimous Princess, who is very brave and very selfless, and also has a really amazing magical power. She speaks politely and well. She is physically weak like myself, and despite her interest in learning to defend herself she is not permitted such things. We both really like to read and learn, even if that interest turns out just to be a hobby. Notably, she is a great diplomat and speaker, though she doesn't really enjoy the former (I wouldn't say irl me is GREAT but is okay, though I do not enjoy it also) Role: She was an orphan as a child, taken in by the Sheikah, who make up the elite royal guards. Once it was noticed I had an amazing magic power, to make massive unbreakable shields, the King and Queen scooped me up and I became the Princess. I grew up and was trained, and eventually I chose for myself four elite guards, who also became my secret lovers. It was an unusual move, but being beloved by the people, it was allowed. The King and Queen clearly think of me more as a pawn than as their child, so it was important I surround myself with people who really cared about me. My power has protected the city on numerous occasions, and the elite guard I chose have protected me even more times than that. F/O(s): My elite guards and primary lovers are Spock, Urbosa, Akabayashi, and Shizuo, as a polyamorous clump of sorts, centered primarily around me. Impa is a secret romantic lover as well (childhood friend who became leader of the Sheikah tribe), though outside of that group. Mipha is a Princess from another Kingdom who I am publicly romantically involved with - while we both consider it temporary (as in we won't get married), it's great fun and keeps away the other suitors. She sometimes engages with my elite guard as well. There will be platonic faves appearing as well.

Fandom: Durarara!! (x2 focused) - in this AU I am part of the yakuza as well. Is She Me?: She is the most like an OC of any SI. She is an outlet for feeling powerless - she is angry, she is strong, and she gets shit done. She swears a lot (which is true to me irl) and talks shit, and delivers on those promises to hurt them when people wrong her. She's the aggressiveness that I feel inside me, but that irl me would never consider executing. She's terrible at introspecting and talking about emotions (not like irl me at all). However, she does have a secret love for Poke'mon and plushies (irl me loves Poke'mon and plushies...). And also magical shield powers that she has weaponized. Role: She was an orphan American child who somehow ended up in Japan - she was adopted by the head of a small yakuza that co-existed with the Awakusu-kai in Ikebukuro. While she considers herself Japanese and Japanese to be her first language, she does speak English, and she is often accused of being a foreigner because she looks that way. Her adopted grandfather (she sees him that way, not as a father) does not force her into the yakuza - she joins on her own. She loves to fight, and being his granddaughter is given a lot of free reign to do what she wants within the boundaries of the small yakuza. She goes to high school at the same time as Izaya/Shinra/Shizuo/Kadota. She catches a lot of shit for being a woman, but she kicks enough ass that eventually she makes a name for herself - the Crystalline Angel. In addition to just being badass at fighting, she discovers early on that she has a special power - to generate shields. But she learns that she can form these shields into any shape, including razor sharp blades. When she's serious about using those powers, it's hard to beat her. Her primary job in the yakuza is to watch over prostitutes and make sure no one is causing them trouble, and if they are, she kicks an entire ass. Ultimately, her grandfather passes away, but he cuts a deal with the Awakusu-kai (who he was on good terms with) to let her join them. The other executives don't take her seriously for a while, but she shapes up and proves herself to them. There's a lot of shit talking, and she falls for Akabayashi almost immediately - and he falls for her instantly too. F/O(s): Romantically, Akabayashi. Platonically, Shinra and Celty, and sort of Izaya. She would really not call them friends, but they have a storied history and she wouldn't say she hates him either. Platonically also all of the Awakusu-kai execs - Aozaki, Shiki, and Kazamoto. She and Kadota were friends in high school, but haven't spoken since then.

Fandom: Durarara!! Is She Me?: Yes, with a few modifications. She is me, but after I graduated college I moved to Japan to work there. And I speak Japanese relatively fluently. This means I discard a lot of the life experiences irl me had. Personality wise, we're generally pretty similar - kind and smart, but ready to lay down some sass at my friends. A little absent-minded at times. Differently, my SI here learns to fight fairly well, and also has magic shield powers. Role: She moves to Japan and almost immediately runs into trouble (depending on which F/O she's with, the trouble varies). She quickly learns that the city is full of bad people and unusual people, and finds herself making friends with the unusual people. In the verse where she dates Shizuo, she helps calm him down, and Izaya takes an interest in messing with her to mess with Shizuo. Things got complicated very fast. In the verse where she dates Akabayashi, she doesn't much learn to fight, as the yakuza protects her once her relationship with Aka is serious. In that verse she joins the Dollars before she finds out Akabayashi is in the yakuza, which is how she discovers her shield powers, despite not really knowing how to fight. F/O(s): Romantically, Shizuo or Akabayashi (not ever in the same verse). Platonically, Celty (BFF!) and Shinra are big friends of hers, as well as Anri being like a younger sister to her. She's also on good terms with the van gang in both verses.

Link Tank: When Marvel’s Secret Invasion Could Be Set on the MCU Timeline
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Set photos from Marvel’s Secret Invasion might hint at where the show takes place on the MCU timeline, and it’s not what you’d think.
“It’s been a minute since anyone saw Nick Fury. Last seen in the credits of Spider-Man: Far From Home almost three years ago, Samuel L. Jackson’s mysterious ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. director will soon star in Secret Invasion, a new Marvel television series coming to Disney+ in 2022.”

Over half the United States has One Piece as their most frequently searched anime program. Does this make it the most popular anime in the country?
“If you ask me which anime series are the best of all time my response will be, ‘I dunno, but these handful of series I keep rewatching are pretty neat.’ However, I can tell you which series is being typed into a Google search bar the most according to this CenturyLinkQuote study reported on by PCMag. The results might surprise you, or, well, maybe they won’t if you realize what was going on with certain anime series in 2021.”

There has been a lot of turmoil with the Doctor Who franchise recently, but this latest rumor could mean the long-running television series might be in jeopardy.
“Whenever Doctor Who is ready to cast a new Doctor, the internet is always aflurry with wild suggestions and outlandish ‘leaks’ that, more often than not, never play out as true. But as Doctor Who fandom looks toward the return of showrunner Russell T Davies—and the 14th Doctor arriving in time for next year’s 60th anniversary—the series has found itself caught up in one of the strangest rumors it’s faced in years.”

Peter Dinklage isn’t happy with Disney and how they are remaking Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in live-action.
“A lot of people have been critical of Disney’s insistence on making live-action remakes of every animated film in its vault, if only because it’s as desperate as it is creatively bankrupt, but there’s another reason why it doesn’t sit well with some people: Some of those old Disney movies have aged very poorly, to the extent that we might be better off not resurrecting them and reintroducing them to new generations.”

Five years later, players are still finding hidden treasures in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, even one that is supposed to be “impossible” to get.
“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild community is bonkers, combining all sorts of glitches to reach areas that the game would normally bar you from entering. These impossible-to-reach areas that exist outside the borders of the map sometimes contain random items, like treasure chests that were likely forgotten or misplaced through the course of development. Despite serving no specific purpose, and despite having no significant value, these items have become a fixation for players precisely because there is no way of getting them. They’re called ‘impossible’ items. And after nearly a year of theories and attempts, one speedrunner has braved the unknown to collect one specific shock arrow that’s perched so high in the sky, most players have no idea it even exists at all.”

While everyone wants it to be this way, Courtney Cox has shot down rumors about another reunion of the cast of Friends.
“For years after Friends concluded back in 2004, fans pleaded for some sort of reunion to bring the six main cast members—Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry—back on one stage again. Finally, the people got what they wanted in 2021, when Friends: The Reunion debuted on HBO Max.”

HI MADDIE i wanted to ask since u write stuff for tp do u have any snazzy headcanons... esp concerning post game zelink :0000
HIYA LU!! ill be really honest, i have a bunch of headcanons until someone asks about them and then? who even are link and zelda? i dunno not me
BUT ill try my best because im not a quitter mostly
this got disgustingly long and it’s more a character study than anything so feel free to yell at me because i am literally so sorry orz
1. so like, a lot of tp fans headcanon that link and zelda clicked immediately post-game but i, like, don’t. i imagine it was more complicated than that. after link and zelda fought ganon and went their separate ways, i feel like their reunion was awkward. i feel like link was highly affected by his adventures as the hero of twilight and was really reluctant to return to any sort of royal conflict, and i feel like that surprised zelda. seeing as the two didn’t get particularly close, i feel as though zelda had an image of link painted in her mind, and when he didn’t fit this image, she was very conflicted.
2. most of zelda’s conflict with link comes from a fixation with the hero of legend and the reality of her hero. most people read a story in their childhood and think, “omg i hope this happens to me.” pair that with said story being preached like a religious doctrine. the hero of legend has become a very important thing to zelda, and though she by no means wants to be “swept off her feet by a knight in shining armor,” she wants to meet her hero. her hero didn’t tend to goats and nearly kill men at the coronation, but here he is in all his ordonian glory.
3. link has an immense amount of respect for zelda. link also thinks that she’s the prettiest girl in this realm. maybe in every other realm, too. he doesn’t ever want to admit that, but that doesn’t mean he can’t think it.
4. you know slow burn relationships? the ones that you read about in 237 chapter fics where they don’t brush hands until chapter 54 and can’t admit their feelings until chapter 176? tp zelink is definitely slow burn. zelda wants to have a hero of legend but doesn’t want to reduce link to just that and will try her absolute hardest to get to know him; meanwhile, link thinks zelda is beautiful and powerful and wonderful but doesn’t want his life to be about royalty and saving hyrule, so he’s trying to be distant so as to not get attached.
5. i don’t want to spoil reverie but im going to dangle a little bit of information and say that zelda most definitely makes the first move. except it’s not the soft “o link my guy you should’ve just told me how you felt, i love you.” it’s just not. i feel it’s too complicated to be just that.
6. link doesn’t know that his grandpa was besties with oot zelda, and zelda doesn’t know that her grandma’s favorite knight was oot link. when they learn this it’s definitely very :0 0:
7. okay so far this has been less headcanon-y and more of my stupid character studying rip but HERE WE GO
8. zelda doesn’t want to make link abide by traditions of royal spouses (such as ballroom dancing, for example) and honestly? link is so thankful. he’s quite ungraceful and not quite suited for balls and throne rooms.
9. zelda is super duper cuddly, which link gets to learn before they start dating. she’s also very open about nudity, having grown up around a bunch of servants dressing her and undressing her and helping her pick her attire. this is VERY WEIRD for link, who can hardly initiate conversation in the simplest way. she doesn’t mean it in a sexual way. she asks link to help her with, say, a corset and just kind of starts undressing because when you need to change, you need to change. but link? he is very confused.
10. a lot of fics also portray zelda and link both loving pumpkin things because that’s ordon’s main crop, but honestly? i feel like zelda would eat one pumpkin soup and find it underwhelming. “you eat this everyday? really?” maybe this is a bit of my own opinion snaking in, because i can’t imagine pumpkin soup being all too good.
11. link calls her ‘zel’ when they start getting closer, except he doesn’t ask before doing it. he randomly just starts calling her ‘zel’ and she’s like “what’d you say……..?”
12. zelda is very fixated on hylia’s doctrine and the goddess reborn, and sometimes when she gets in the zone she will start talking about hylian and hyrulean lore. link doesn’t get some of it but thinks it’s beautiful.

DND - Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild
so many bullshit things have happened since i last posted such as ~
the party getting trapped in a hell church run by a demon that made us live through our worst fears.
Paja freaking out at being touched or feeling warmth, breaking down into tears when Gilleon dragged her into the igloo so she wouldn't die from the cold. His force and her slipping resulted in them kissing by mistake. Paja gets angry and punches him.
The party gets kidnapped by Simulacra and Paja figures out that Simulacra can't bleed and that's how they could tell the difference between the real them and the others. Unfortunately i rolled a nat 1 and sliced so deep into Paja's arm that she cut the nerves and lost use of everything below the middle of her forearm. She got it removed and replaced with automail that turns into an electrified spike at will.
A Guardian wakes up and a demon wizard kidnapps the party, taking them to the central monster camp. They find out that every living thing has a piece of Demise in them, and the only way to remove it is through a painful rite. the only way to perform the rite is by using these power cores, one core per person. Ati, wanting to become stronger, offers herself up but Paja pushes her out of the way and goes instead. She says that because none of them know how the rite works or even if they'll survive it, it would be best that she goes instead.
Paja gets the darkness ripped out of her (her greed, her lust, her impulsivity, her pride, her cruelty and ruthlessness) and she is forced to fight the horrific mass that continuously ignores her or tosses her aside to try and kill her friends. Paja's Blight has a strange fixation on Gilleon, repeatedly attacking him even when Paja steps in the way to protect him. Eventually the party kills it and once its gone, Paja falls to her knees and openly weeps. She curls in on herself, shaking and screaming at the emptiness inside her.
Paja's personality was pretty much 90% Blight, so now without it, she feels that she is nothing. She drinks herself numb and smokes herself stupid for 2 days, going through crying jags every time she gets somewhat sober. The rest of the party is extremely uncomfortable, having seen Paja as a pillar of strength and power and now having to watch her collapse in on herself.
When the party returns to the Union, they're told that everyone thought they were dead for 3 weeks. When everyone walks into the war room and sees the leaders of all their clans in a heated discussion which slowly quiets when they see the 7 party members that were thought to be dead. Impa sees her daughter Paja and runs up to her, tears running down her cheeks. She hugs her tight and says "you're alive. my baby is alive. you're here. you're safe" over and over. Paja didn't know how much her adoptive mother loved her until that moment and Paja breaks down crying again, saying "I'm sorry, mama. I'm sorry for all of it. i thought you would be relieved, but i guess i was wrong."
The party convinces the Union to work with the Monsters against the Guardian tasked with destroying Demise and is set on killing all the life in Hylia to do so.
The party goes to Gilleon's house for the holiday feast and they meet his family, Paja is still horrifically depressed and refuses to make eye contact with Gilleon. He occasionally tries to prod her, saying something teasing, but she doesn't react. Mako, Gilleon's older sister, pulls Paja aside and asks her what's wrong.
Paja admits that she's in love with Gilleon and that she's known since the church. Her worst fear was watching Gilleon and her mother abandon her, then burn her at the stake. How, now that she has no lid for her emotions, everything is spreading like a grease fire and she has no control over her emotions anymore but when she sees Gilleon, everything quiets. Everything feels manageable, she feels at peace. Which then makes her feel terrible, because she knows Gilleon hates her and they had JUST started becoming friends and her love for him would just ruin that.
Mako sings her a song of healing, mending Paja's broken heart partially. She tells Paja to take it easy for the next few days because something is coming after her party and it feeds on the emotionally weak.
Shelly, Gilleon's mad scientist sister, pulls Paja into her room to do tests on her automail arm. Paja lights up a joint, feeling considerably better, until Gilleon follows her into the room and tries to get Paja to put it out so that his mom doesn't smell it. Paja giggles and flirts with him, then confesses that he makes everything quiet and she loves the blue of his eyes and his smile makes her smile and that she's completely in love with him. She then admits that her worst fear was him and her mother leaving her.
Gilleon snaps at her, saying "So you hate me as much as you hate your mother? Seriously what is wrong with you? You bully me for months then you pull this? What do you hope to gain? Seriously this isn't fucking funny, Paja."
The rest of the day is Gilleon and Paja yelling at each other and miscommunicating. Paja desperately trying to get Gilleon to understand that she loves him and would never want to hurt him while Gilleon thinks that she's lying to fuck with him and that she's decided to bully him again. Seriously, the rest of the session was just Paja and Gilleon yelling at each other. Mako has had enough and she's DONE, so she yanks Gilleon into his room and yells at him something to the effect of "what the actual all encompassing FUCK was that? she was sobbing in my room and one of the things that upset her the most was her love for you, because she knows she fucked up. the least you could do is not be a dick to her so when the thing thats coming to kill you all in 3 days actually comes, maybe you all won't die!"
They visit the Dekuscrub Village (which is a large tree), they get reunited with Nakka. now, no one has any clue who Nakka is. but according to Nakka, Gilleon is his very best friend in the whole word - or any other dimension. That his Gilleon, a merfolk alcoholic Bard, jumped into a portal and got dispersed throughout other dimensions and this was the one Nakka found him in. Little backstory on Nakka: Richard created Nakka in another campaign for one specific purpose. To fuck with the DM. he exploited the system to make a super-charged character. Nakka is extremely strong and can essentially hug people to death. He has bested gods in hand-to-hand combat, he's defeated devils in cooking shows. all while having a +1 on pretty much everything except strength, concentration, and agility. this dude has been through so much shit that is a sudo God and is the Lord of Hell because he kicked Satan down into the dirt. and Nakka has done all of this for his very best friend Gilleon. Gilleon, in the past incarnation, became an alcoholic because Nakka ruined his life. Nakka bested the Goddess Merfolk!Gilleon prayed to every night since he was a child, dethroned her, put Gilleon on her throne, and gifted the goddess to Gilleon as a girlfriend. this broke Gilleon irreparably and he went into a downward spiral of insanity and alcoholism until he threw himself into a void that threw him into multiple dimensions.
Richard decided that every campaign that Ian plays Gilleon in, Nakka will always eventually show up to reunite with his "fishbro". Ian said that every time Nakka shows up, Gilleon will have a knee-jerk reaction to him that will start with crying and end with being hella paranoid all the time.
So, two days after Zora!Gilleon reuniting with Nakka, and Paja basically protecting Gilleon in every combat they get into, Gilleon feels terrible for what he said and pulls her aside during an extended rest. He confesses that yeah, he was scared and hurt when she initially told him that she loved him and it took him some time to accept that New Paja isn't the same as Old Paja. and if he was being honest with himself, he hasn't hated Paja for a long time and actually feels like he would rather be by her side than anywhere else. That he thinks if he were to be without her that he would be miserable. His feelings were that he loved her above all else and never wanted to be without her.
Still scared that he doesn't mean it, she still asks him out on a date and they go for a drink.
Note: Nakka created a door/portal to Merfolk!Gilleon's room in Hell upon meeting this party. Zora! Gilleon picked up a picture of Merfolk!Gilleon and Paja leans over his shoulder and says "hm he's hot." which causes Gilleon to get insecure. Paja found a chest with 69 bottles of 100 proof alcohol. 1 bottle in the 69 is the Krunkinator, which is 2,000 proof alcohol only fit for the king of hell to drink - everyone else will be killed the second their lips touch the liquid. i now need to roll a D65 (we already used or drank 4 of them) every time we pick up a bottle to see if today will be the day we die.

All Smiles - Ch 2
SHIP: link x sidon / sidlink WORD COUNT: 4,163 RATING: T for teen because this bad boy is getting a little VIOLENT FANDOM: the legend of zelda: breath of the wild ONE-SHOT/MULTICHAPTERED: this is CHAPTER TWO, you can read chapter one here!
SUMMARY: inspired by my own playthrough/painful journey up to zora’s domain, in which link finds prince sidon to be incredibly obnoxious… at first! journeying to the zora’s domain in order to battle with the divine beast ruta, link’s injuries from the monsters speckling the path there result in him spending more time getting to know sidon than fighting ruta.
enjoy my work? help support me by buying me a ko-fi so i can keep on writing!
“... She was your sister?” The grand statue was almost imposing, were it not for the gentle expression upon its face. Kindly and soft, nurturing in nature, it struck the same tone of familiarity as the rest of the Domain. Yet, he could not put a name to it. Not until Sidon piped up with it, that is. ”Yes, the Champion Mipha. She is my elder sister--er, was, I guess. Wording is always clunky when trying to speak of her, but she had fallen in battle against the Calamity Ganon.” Gaze drifting from the immaculate statue, near lifelike in appearance, to Sidon, his stomach twisted in sympathy when seeing the flash of pain upon the Prince’s face. ”I was still young when she died. I never got to know her well, but I have bits and pieces of memories to hang on to, alongside that of the elders.” His smile recovered, yet the grief behind it was poorly veiled. ”You miss them every day, however, the grief becomes easier to manage. In her memory I have strove even harder to become the prince that my people need, especially now that I am to claim the throne upon my father’s stepping down.” Link watched as Sidon’s lingered upon his sister’s immortalized image before the Prince shook himself out of it, looking back upon him properly. ”Do you have any siblings, Link?” Opening his mouth to answer, only to find no answer could come, he shut it, and frowned. ”… I do not remember.” Blinking, and then looking startled, Sidon gaped. ”You don’t remember?” ”I lost my memory... A long time ago.” Was it during his deep slumber, or perhaps when Calamity Ganon had struck him down, stripping his mind of any memory of his past? The fact he could not even remember that was frustrating, and he turned away, scowling at the water-slick stone. ”… I’m sorry. If I hit a raw nerve, it is my fault entirely.” Nearly flinching at the soft touch of Sidon’s hand on his shoulder, wondering if they were all so touchy among the Zora, Link shook his head, and brushed off his hand. ”It’s fine. It is coming back in bits and pieces.” He could remember that he had a father who, too, had been a knight before him. While he could not remember his father himself, he could recall that tidbit of information from the memory of he and Princess Zelda overlooking Hyrule Field. She had seemed so forlorn in acknowledging her fate as a princess. He wished he had said something comforting to her at the time. They stood in silence for a minute longer, Sidon gazing upon Link in slight worry that he had done something to offend him, while Link was instead brewing over the memories he had thus far recalled, wondering what crucial details he had lost with his memories. ”… If you are feeling well enough for it, I must ask that you come with me to the throne room. We have much to be discussed with my father,” Sidon finally added, voice careful, trying to gauge how Link may react. A moment of silence longer, and Link nodded, hands settling upon his hips as he gazed up to Sidon. ”Take me to him.”
Link was left gaping at the sight of the King, having to tilt his head straight up in order to gaze upon King Dorephan. ”You do not remember me, Champion?” He had not heard his prior statement, nor had he noticed Sidon’s jolt of shock at realizing that he had brought not only a Hylian to assist them in their quest to appease Ruta, but the Champion thought to be long dead. ”Amazing! You were the Champion of the Hylians all this time, Link?!” Glancing between the pair, his mind moreso fixated on whether or not Sidon would grow to be as large as his father, or if it was simply a trait unique to the King himself, he looked to Dorephan, shook his head, and then to Sidon, and nodded. ”I lost my memory, and if what I am told is correct, and what little I remember, I had been the Champion,” he confirmed, and as Sidon looked upon him in awe, Dorephan pursed his lips and scratched at his jaw. ”What a shame… To think, you had been alive all this time, yet your memory gone. It is a price you must pay, I suppose, in return for living. But it is good timing that Prince Sidon found you, for we are in dire need of your help…”
”You cannot possibly think you are ready to face the Lynel as you are!” Readjusting the Zora Armor, gazing silently upon how well it fit to his form, Link looked back to Sidon. ”It’s what I must do. To think I managed to forget her…” Princess Mipha, Champion Mipha; the one destined to guide the Divine Beast, and the one who had fallen in love with him. Had he known at the time? Had he planned on becoming engaged to her once they had defeated Calamity Ganon? As distinctly as he could recall that instance in which she had healed his arm, such warm love in her eyes, he struggled to remember his own emotions. He struggled to deal with that she had been so deeply in love with him, that she had gone into battle, and died. ”Mipha would not want you charging off so quickly when your wounds are still healing---” ”If we had been successful, she’d be here to heal them!” Lips pulled back into a snarl, fingers sinking tight into the shoulders of the armor he had been adjusting, he hadn’t noticed his own simmering temper until it all came flooding out. Instantly, regret flooded him, watching Sidon go from shock, to hurt, to a quiet acceptance, looking away. ”… Sidon, I’m sorry, it’s just hard---” ”I understand. You never got to grieve. You just forgot, and now, you are forced to feel this pain for someone you barely remember.” Sighing, it was a long few seconds until Sidon looked back to him, his fingers clasping the doorway, his face bearing a sorrow that Link found indescribable. ”But please. Understand that my sister had gone to war knowing the possibilities, whether she may live, or die. And likewise, she would want you to take care of yourself, even if she is not here to do so for you.” His gaze hovered upon Sidon for only a second longer before looking away, incapable of maintaining his gaze. ”If she is not here to protect you, then I will take her place, Link. Now, please… Please rest before you hurt yourself further.” He did not need to look to see Sidon walking away, his fading footsteps enough to bring him back to the bed to sit down, and think.
Nightfall had long since fallen when he crept out of Sidon’s quarters and past where Binsley snoozed. His clothes, once tattered, had been repaired during his long rest, yet he had no time to admire what had been made good as new. Adjusting his bow upon his back, double-checking his stock of arrows and seeing to it that he had an array of weapons at the ready in the case any one of them broke, he headed for the east bridge. He knew most of the Zora to be asleep aside from the few guards staying true to their duties, easily creeping around them and making his way back to the main path. The low glow of the blue posts, their luminous stone providing guidance to where he needed to go, looking up to the looming Ploymous Mountain. Slowly did he straighten from his crouch, no guard up ahead to prevent him from making his way to where the Lynel laid in wait. ”Did you ignore Mipha like you have done to me?” His bow was drawn sooner than Sidon could blink, yet the Prince stood unwavering, staring down the shaft of his arrow straight into Link’s eyes. ”… I’m not patient,” Link answered gruffly, withdrawing his weapon> ”Then I am coming with you,” decidedly Sidon replied, striding past Link before he could see his look of shock. ”But--you’ll get killed!” ”And? So will you! The Lynel is no laughing manner, and you are by no means geared for fighting against such a beast.” Giving Link a once over, Sidon turned back, gazing up to where the Lynel supposedly waited. ”We will have to be quick, and collect the arrows without it paying notice to us. If you wish to fight it, that shall be reserved for another day, as we have more pressing matters at stake.” ”And you aren’t worried about being electrocuted? I might get hurt, but you might---” ”We’ve already gone over this.” Turning to face him, Sidon grinned and flexed an arm. ”I’m stronger than most Zora! How could I be their prince if I can’t handle a little bit of electricity?” Rolling his eyes, Link shoved past, fixing up his bun and glancing up to the waterfall ahead. ”We will have to see. You said this armor will let me climb the waterfalls, right?” Jogging to catch up, falling into step with Link, Sidon gave a confirming nod, looking over the waterfall. ”You will be able to swim right up it as if you are a Zora as well! But, it will be much easier for me to do all of the work. I am strong enough to carry you, and I may as well as use this to our advantage so you do not end up fatigued.” With a second flex, Sidon dashed off to the edge of the pool, doing a spinning backflip into the water, with Link staring wide-eyed at the feat of athleticism. And this visibly did not go unnoticed by Sidon himself, who grinned with pride as he floated to the surface. ”Come on! Jump onto my back!” Shaking himself out of his stupor, Link ran and jumped onto Sidon’s shoulders, slipping down to wrap his legs around his torso as the Prince swam towards the waterfall. ”Hang on!” With fingers digging into his shoulders, Link felt a rush of air around his face before it all turned into cold water, and within the same instant it seemed, they were flying back up and splashing down into a second pool. Hair dripping wet and chest heaving hard from the adrenaline, Sidon hollered, splashing down an arm in excitement. ”Woo! That was great! I swear, I’m only getting faster at this!” Grin bigger than ever, he looked back at where Link still held on. ”You okay back there?” Managing to give a sharp nod after taking a moment to catch his breath, readjusting his grip on Sidon, Sidon turned back around, looking up to the next waterfall. ”Alright, let’s do this!”
By the time they had reached the top of the mountain within a few minutes time, they both were breathing hard. Link, from being beaten down by the rushing water of the waterfall and the adrenaline rush of clinging to Sidon, and Sidon himself, for swimming as fast as he could up each and every one, trying to beat his record from the last. Heaving himself onto the shoreline after letting himself slip off of Sidon’s back, flopping down onto sweet, sweet solid ground, his eyes idly tracked Sidon’s own progression from the pond, to laying down next to him. ”Didn’t… Even break… a sweat,” Sidon panted, trying to get up to play off his own exhaustion only to follow Link’s lead in flopping back down. Observing Sidon gasping to catch his breath, it was in that instant Link realized, he was showing off. Not letting him use the armor, having him ride on his back, trying to go faster up each waterfall---he had been attempting to impress him. And evidently, also trying to impress him with how little it had fazed him, yet that was mostly unsuccessful. Why, however, he had decided this necessary went unknown, and instead of dwelling upon it (or worse, gathering up the courage to confront Sidon on the matter), he heaved himself back up into an upright position. ”We don’t have much time before daybreak,” Link huffed, pushing off his knee to stand up. ”The moment it gets light, we’ll lose the cover of darkness, and the Lynel will see us.” Perking up, and quickly following suit, Sidon dusted off the sand clinging to his damp skin, and looked up the path ahead. ”The Lynel should be waiting for us there,” he concluded, “If Muzu was correct. We should be able to collect the arrows, and get out of there quickly. You ready to do this?” Nodding, Link took his boomerang, and dropped it. ”Wait---what are you doing?! Won’t you need that if it wakes up?!” ”It makes too much noise, and it’ll attract electricity if it DOES wake up. I’ll still have my bow and a quiver full of arrows,” Link reached back and patted the aforementioned quiver, “if we need them. We just need to be quick enough to get what we need, and get out.” Twenty arrows. They only needed twenty arrows, and upon checking, Link had found he already had thirteen. They only needed a handful more of shock arrows, and then they should head back, and prepare for their fight against the Divine Beast. The thought alone was enough to make his stomach lurch. ”Well, then let’s get this over with,” Sidon grunted, reaching out to give a tug on Link’s hand, and then heading on ahead up the path. He sure does like leading the way, Link thought, quickly shoving his boomerang into the bushes where he would come back to it later, and trotting to catch up. The path was not long, and it did not take long at all to reach the top of the mountain, thank to Sidon’s swift traveling up the waterfalls. Silently thankful to not have to endure any more long journeys, at least not for now, he quickly brought an index finger to his lips, motioning to a neighboring tree. Shoved in deep, only the shaft exposed, the end of the arrow crackled with electricity, where feathers might had been instead electricity held together with magic, giving the shock arrows their shock. ”That’s easy,” Sidon muttered next to him, looking around the open area, noting each tree that had an arrow stuck in side of it. Some of them even had more than one, easy pickings for a small, quick Hylian. ”You stay here,” Link instructed, crouching low and evaluating the best places to hide. ”And I’ll go grab them.” ”But---” ”Keep watch.” His eyes landed upon Sidon, serious and focused. This was his element, truly most at ease when he felt he was back in the warzone. ”Warn me if you see the Lynel, and I’ll come running and we’ll regroup. I’m not going to be focused much on looking around, so I’ll need you to be my eyes. Okay?” There was something else that flickered in Sidon’s eyes besides mere acknowledgment, and before Link could place a finger on it, it was gone, replaced by the same serious look. ”Got it. Be careful, okay?” Nodding, and pulling up his mask to cover his mouth and nose, he turned and vanished into the brush. His plan was to be quick, darting from tree to tree, grabbing an arrow, and then figuring out where the next and going to it as quickly as he could. It was difficult, maintaining a crouch while trying to be light on his feet. Every step onto a tree branch, every accidental splash in a puddle, and Link would freeze, gaze darting around, tense as he waited for a stampede of hooves coming to trample him. Yet, nothing would emerge. A bird would chirp nearby. A goat, wandering the cliffside, darted away, baaing as it bolted down the mountain. The quiet was near eerie, and the task of collecting arrows far too simple for Link’s liking. And he saw why when he stood upright to grab an arrow too high up for him to remain crouched, his gaze drifting to see Sidon doing the same. His fingers stretched, reaching for an arrow that was embedded in a branch just within his reach, his eyes fixated on the arrow and the arrow alone. It was what Sidon had been designated to look for that made Link know exactly why this was not meant to play out as he had hope, and what caused him to feel so sick.
“SIDON, RUN!” Sidon jerked away from the arrow at his scream, eyes blown wide as they looked between where Link was running as fast he could for him, and then to the Lynel standing behind. Jaw going slack, he stumbled back, tripping over one of the roots of the tree he had been leaning against and hitting the ground with a grunt. Hands fumbling, digging into the soil as he tried to jerk back, Sidon looked up the shaft of the Lynel’s drawn arrow, the electricity that crackled down it illuminated his face, the shadows from it dancing across his form. ”No, no, no, no!” He wasn’t fast enough, he wasn’t going to make it. Every foot fall felt like he was running through molasses, feeling as if he were trying to run in a dream where everything still stayed stationary. It all went in slow motion. The Lynel, bow drawn, arrow plucked back and nigh upon release. Sidon, fumbling back, with no time to lift himself up and run away, staring death in the face. Link did not think as his hands reached back, muscle memory guiding him to bow and quiver, drawing and aiming. His right foot hit the ground, and in the instant of having something solid to brace himself against, he let the arrow fly, watching it soar through the air. The Lynel did not see it, and Link damned himself for not making some noise, not distracting the beast to look away, away from where Sidon lay. And in that same slow motion, he watched as his arrow struck the Lynel point blank, and watched as its spasming muscles from the hit let loose the arrow it had already drawn, screeching down for Sidon. ”NO!” His scream was not enough to halt the arrow in its path, still too far away to try and deflect the bow, too far away to take the hit. Sidon’s scream nearly made his run slow, nearly brought him to his knees at the thought that he had let him die. He had been so stupid, that not only had he drawn Mipha to her death, but her brother, too. He was walking bad luck, bringing death and destruction wherever he went. And it was truly, utterly, all his fault. His stride stuttered, paying no mind to the roaring Lynel, who had jerked back to cover its face and feel for the arrow lodged in its skull. His stumbling walk was aimed to where Sidon still lay, limp and motionless, surely dead. He was a Zora, susceptible to electricity. They all risked death when faced against shock arrows. This was fact. ”Sidon, Sidon I’m sorry,” he gasped, breathing hard. The arrow wound in his shoulder reopened, and lifting the arm hurt. Drawing the bow had been too much, and drained what was left out of him. ”I’m sorry,” Link said, choking back a sob as he crumpled down, crawling to where he was, aware that the Lynel would not take much longer to recover, and come after him twice as furious. His hand reached, and with his good arm he went to touch him. ”I shouldn’t have let you come, I should have known you were too good to simply sit back and watch. You’d want to help, and get yourself killed,” he wept, tear drops falling onto Sidon’s dried skin, his fingers gripping his shoulder to try and pull him near. ”I should have---” He froze, palm brushing against Sidon’s chest. And when he pressed it back down, letting it linger, he felt movement. A shallow, barely-there rise of his chest, and when carefully moving around the scorch marks from the arrow and where it was plunged into his shoulder, ear against his mouth, he felt a warm puff of air. He was alive. Despite taking a shock arrow dead on, he had survived, and still had a chance to live. ”Fuck,” Link gasped, looking up to the Lynel, slowly shaking itself out as it finished removing the arrow, and to Sidon’s unconscious form, too heavy to easily carry. ”Fuck, fuck, fuck.” They had to get out of there, before they both wound up dead, whether it be stomped to death by the Lynel’s hooves, or by another pair of shock arrows that would not miss this time. Link couldn’t shoot an arrow and carry Sidon at the same time, effectively crippling their one, decent shot at defending themselves, especially when Sidon was not awake to assist in doing so. Forearms hooking beneath Sidon’s armpits, with a shuddering grunt he heaved him back, sliding him along the soft grass towards the path they had come from, his feet stamping hard against the ground to try and move as quickly as possible. ”I’m so sorry if I hurt you more,” he gasped, eyes frantic as they watched the Lynel beginning to look for them again. ”Trust me, this hurts… The both of us…” The path crept nearer, and Link damned it for not magically appearing next to them, and saving him the trouble of having to drag Sidon any further. Muscles aching and tired, his bad arm nigh upon becoming uncooperative after such punishment, his adrenaline rush was fading when the Lynel looked up, and it was nearly gone when he saw it running for them, and felt its hooves shaking the earth. ”I’m not ready to die,” Link whispered, clutching Sidon to his body, watching the Lynel approach. His eyes shot back behind them, seeing nothing but open air. If they fell, they’d certainly die. But if they stayed… ”And neither are you.” The Lynel gave a roar, its front hooves rearing up before them, ready to stomp down, and Link jerked back. Solid earth gave way to nothing but air, wind rushing around them as they plummeted. Arms still tight around Sidon, feeling them falling only faster with their combined weight, Link fumbled, panicking, struggling to undo the paraglider attached to his belt. ”Come on, come on, come on!” The trees rose up faster than he could keep up with, images of being skewered alive flashing rapidly in the forefront of his mind. His fingers snagged the edges of the paraglider, ripping it away from his person. By reflex, his hand reached up to snag the handle while the other still hung onto Sidon, and instantly did he scream, feeling the wound in his shoulder stretch and rip. Their descent slowed, and the split second he had been able to hang on was just enough, fingers slipping off near instantly as they came crashing into the brush. Rolling and tumbling, the paraglider cracking itself against a tree as the pair slowly rolled to a stop, Link sputtered and gasped, struggling to not scream from the pain that felt much like his shoulder had been ripped from its socket. Blood and sweat soaked, he laid still for a moment, recovering himself as he listened to Sidon’s soft, slow breathing, reassuring himself that he was not alone in this. And it was this fact that got him to heave up, kept him moving lest they both died from his inability to keep them alive. ”… Where… where are we?” Link looked around, the forest unfamiliar, and the endless horizon of trees doing no better in helping him. Hands shaking, grip unsteady, he managing to pull up his Sheikah Slate, drawing up a map. Blank. An area unexplored, it remained a dark, unmarked blue, and he had forgotten to log the shrine within Zora’s Domain to ensure a quick and easy way back. Fumbling with the device some more, thinking of how quick and easy it would be to travel, he glanced back to Sidon. If he couldn’t take his horses with him when he traveled, did that mean he couldn’t take another person, either? And he didn’t even have his weapon, left behind by the waterfall, alongside the others meant to replace it in the case it broke. Groaning at their circumstances, smacking himself in the forehead for getting too cocky, he slowly sat back down, looking over to Sidon. ”… First things first, we need to take care of both of our wounds. And then… I guess we’re going to have to see what we’re going to do then…”
