Remember a few weeks (weeks? Months? I have no clue anymore lol) back there were rumors that Max might have been considering moving to ferrari and everyone just laughed it off? 'Oh no way he'd ever leave his redbull family he loves them they love him he's so loyal he'll stay there till he retires'. After yesterday i don't think it's too far fetched? Especially of the Monaco rumors are true, and they as a team are choosing to cover the other guy and leave him to face the heat of it all - knowing full well that he already gets never ending hate and criticism as it is and this just adds more fuel to the whole thing. I know he said he doesn't care about what people say but he's still human yknow? At one point he'll reach his breaking point

Tbh, even if I was a Max hater, I would say that any team would KILL to have Max atm. That's why Totoş is still sucking up to him whenever he can stop thinking about Abu Dhabi 21 even though several times Max burned the bridges by saying he is not interested.

If he'd ever leave Redbull, his best bet would be Mercedes, Lewis' seat. Not, Ferrari.

Darling, they are so incompetent and I am sure Max is not blind. He also doesn't have the Rosso Corsa fetish that Chal and Seb have.

But you are forgetting something here. Max is like Kimi. He can and will simply say "Fuck you." to all if he is left with no good options like Kimi didn't in 2009 when he was only 30. He would just leave and find meaning in something else. Race somewhere else. He never raced for fame, never did it for the spot lights, but solely for the enjoyment and the thrill of it. So, if push comes to the shove, it would be the sports' loss, not his, because guys like him do not give a fuck about how others perceive them as, their own self perception and satisfaction is the important thing.

As I said before, Redbull literally threw Max under the bus by voicing that request in the race as if they wanted to deflect the day before's criticism about how/why they didn't ask for a switch in the sprint.

They dumped the whole responsibility and the hate fest onto Max's shoulders even tho the guy had told them before the race that he wouldn't do it.

They also caused the Spain drama needlessly when it was clear that Max was going to overtake Checo in 1-2 laps at most (I know tyre deg is a problem but seriously, I don't think it was to the point that Max couldn't be able to handle it) and also in Baku where Checo's tyre deg was greater and again Max was faster and would overtake in a few laps at most which even Checo admitted to.

There was no need to use the radio for these. There was no need to tell Max let Checo pass if he starts P4 and can't keep up and his team mate passes him coming from the back. I know tyres didn't work for Redbull yesterday, but this is not a case of 1 race. Many races passed and the points deficit could have been greater if this and that happened, hello.... The talent is where you never get to the point of having to ask for team orders when you are going against a team mate like Max.

So, if Max feels he is not treated well, it is their loss, not Max's. Because he has the mentality to brush aside it all and open a new page and never look back unlike many others who can't let shit go.

Do you have a grandparent, who refuses to go to an old folk's home? In the first place, sending your elderly to a nursing home is not a part of our culture and is majorly looked down upon because children here are expected to take care of their parents; we’re a super super family-centered culture and adult children will take in their elderly parents into their homes to care for them until they pass. We only have a couple of nursing homes in Manila and as far as I know, none in the provinces because of this. I hate the idea of sending any of my grandparents to a nursing home. Have you ever made an article of clothing yourself? If so, what was it? No. One of our final project in 6th grade home ec was to make an apron but like I said in previous surveys, I didn’t turn in a single project for that class. Do you go to arcades? If so, what's your go-to game at one? Yes, we usually go when we’re feeling stressed and just want an hour of fun. I always run to the basketball games first. Sometimes I’ll wanna do the piano tiles too. When it comes to friends, what's the biggest thing you have in common? We’re all journalism majors haha. Most people in my circle now hail from my org and I’m glad I decided to join one and that I ditched my dumb orgs-are-useless mindset from freshie year. If you had to study something for the next year, what would you study? Law. I was planning to take admission exams for law schools anyway by 2021.

If you were a fantasy character, would you be a warrior, a mage or a rogue? I don’t know, this is my least favorite genre and I don’t have a clue what any of these mean in fantasy world terms lol. Do you ever experience heart burn? I had this once and I vividly remember it because it was such an awful experience, and it was after eating a Double Down from KFC. I vowed to never have a Double Down again after that evening, and I don’t think I’ve broken that vow since hahaha. Do you own an army shirt? I don’t. What tempts you frequently? It was awesome to see a bunch of other drivers angrily honking their horns too to show their solidarity with us. It was big enough for media outlets to have to use their drones to capture the crowd and for the event to land on national news, and I don’t regret skipping out on it. Who is your favourite movie villain? She was technically a book villain, but Annie Wilkes was portrayed flawlessly by Kathy Bates in Misery. What's your favourite flavour of mousse? Just chocolate. It was the end of the semester and it’s usually when all the requirements pile up on my to-do list and it’s when I take my time management the most seriously. Characters that had the main focus: My fave Pidge got a lot of spotlight this year, and I wrote more Lance POV than I thought I would, which was fun!  Besides that, Keith gets the narrator role for most of my Sheith fics, per usual.

Specifics:

Best/worst title? Best title: I’m not even ashamed to admit it because I have the humor of a teenage boy, but is that a hermit crab in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? was definitely my favorite, though it loses some points for being a mouthful, I guess. 2nd place would go to you’re deriving me crazy for the three-way pun. Worst title: come out your way is kind of nebulous I guess

Best/worst first line? Best: i am become blade     “A knife is a close-range weapon.  This is the first thing Keith learns, before the Garrison, before Voltron, before the Blade.”

Worst: welp, this is making me realize that almost all my fics start with just a single line of dialogue. I guess are you having fun yet? (i’ll send you the sunset) which just begins with: “I’m here! I’m here!” Best/worst last line? Best: you only live forever in the lights you make

“Sorry,” murmurs Shiro, but there’s little remorse in it, just a smile pressed against Keith’s temple, a buzzer going off in Keith’s head.  A knee between his legs, their bodies aligning, and Keith thinks of that moment of grace when he releases the ball from his hands, watching it arc away from him with a held breath—and when Shiro finally, finally kisses him, it’s bleachers full of people rising to their feet, the thunderous roar of a crowd, the sweetest of sighs as the ball tumbles, headlong, through the net. 

In case anyone hasn’t picked up on it yet, my heart will always beat for basketball and I think this paragraph really captures the feeling it gives, plus the Sheith kiss doesn’t hurt :’) 

Worst: come out your way       “And she smiles back.” I mean, it works for the two characters and where they are at this specific moment, but it’s not particularly insightful or creative, so I do wish I could have done a little more.

General questions:

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted? I think more! I thought it would be much more slow-going because of college, but going through this reflection has made me realize that I still managed to squeeze stuff in when I got bitten by the writing bug. 

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year? God, this was the year of the Plance Plance Revolution. I remember @flusteredkeith texting me about Plance in like May or something of this year and at the time I was still like “oh that sounds cute” but probs wouldn’t actively ship it myself but now.... here we are....  oh worm What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest. My entire ball’s in your court verse, tbh, particularly the Pidge and Lance segments. More to come! :) 

Okay, NOW your most popular story. On tumblr, hold it against me got the most notes. On Ao3, in the nook of a cousin universe has the most hits and bookmarks, while hermit crab has the most kudos.

Story most underappreciated by the universe? My Hunk/Lance Sky High AU, tbh. I had so much fun writing it and was a little sad to see it sent off into the void, but Hance is a rarepair to begin with so I guess that was to be expected.

Story that could have been better? just the lonely talking; I really want to do more with the Tico sisters and their backstories but tbh I’m still not as informed about the Star Wars-verse as I’d like to be so a lot of the fic was just *waves hands*  Maybe another time I’ll take a different stab at it.

Sexiest story? I’m vanilla af but I guess things get semi-steamy at the end of hermit crab, if you ignore the fact that the entire fic reads like a shitpost  Saddest story? in the nook of a cousin universe. I mean, it’s a Kimi no na Wa AU, so that was kind of a given ;) Most fun? want your bad romance far and away. spin classes are something else, y’all Story with single sweetest moment? you’re deriving me crazy wins hands-down for best snuggles and cuddles all around. 

Raising an eyebrow, Lance smirks, moving to the edge of her bed.  Feet planted on the carpet, he pats his knee.

“C’mere.”

“What are you trying to do?” Pidge asks suspiciously, but she goes anyways.

“Nothing.” Feigning innocence, Lance hooks her by the belt loops, pulling her closer into the cradle of his hips.  His legs bracket her on either side, and she laces her fingers behind his neck, waiting.  It’s an old game between them, this process of making him come to her; Lance tilts his head back, smiling, and Pidge rolls her eyes, bending a little to meet him—

—only for him to snake an arm around her waist and tip her sideways onto the bed.

“Lance!” yelps Pidge, her bedsprings squeaking under their weight as they fall onto the mattress.  She means to say more—something about how he’s a dirty sneak, but that gets swallowed by laughter when he starts tickling her, going straight for her neck.

“I—hate—you,” she gasps, squirming as she tries to bat his hands away.  Eventually, she manages to get a leg around his middle and rolls them over, though Pidge suspects it only happens so easily because Lance is happy to yield.  She ends up sitting on his waist, his chest rising and falling gently under her hands.

Hardest story to write? in the nook of a cousin universe, bc plotting was hell, and then also by virtue of it being a commission I felt doubly self-conscious about everything. But it was worth it in the end :)

Easiest/most fun story to write? want your bad romance because half of it happened to me in real life

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters? My Hunk/Lance Sky High AU actually got me to see how the Hunk/Keith dynamic could play out, surprisingly, which was a fun revelation to have. And then writing Pidge/Lance has made me fall back in love with Lance as a character, just realizing how genuinely good and fun and sweet he is.  

Most overdue story? are you having fun yet? (i’ll send you the sunset)  This fic had literally been languishing in my drafts for over a year and a half, and that’s not counting the first seeds of inspiration for it, which had been around way before that. It felt really good to finally get it done. :)

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? This summer was the first time I opened myself up to commissions, and I was pleasantly surprised and honored by the response, so maybe I’ll make it an every summer thing.  I think taking commissions definitely taught me to approach writing with more discipline, which was nice.  I also branched more into “crack” fic and found it extremely enjoyable, so here’s to more of those.

What are your fic writing goals for next year?

Take more writing prompts, and train myself to treat them as prompts instead of feeling the need to develop a whole full-length fic around it.

thoughts on the tokyo ghoul movie

so I saw it yesterday and woAH the movie was amazing, but I ended up knocking out before I finished typing up all my thoughts, but now that i'm done with all my work for today, it’s time to post my opinions about the live action tg movie!! :D

(this is really long and includes a bunch of spoilers about the movie so it will be under the cut)

Masataka Kubota is an awkward adorable dork, case closed & Hide was really well casted too! 

his cheerfulness and loud attitude really emphasized how opposite and introverted Kaneki is in comparison

I was happy to see that Kaneki’s desk was littered with books (like a crap ton of books), basically mplying he was a literature major without actually stating so + showing his love for books

SEN TAKATSUKI!!!! (sadly she wasn’t there but at least her name was mentioned)

omg Kaneki had such a stupid grin after looking at his calendar marked with "date with Rize"

only noticed it cause I saw it at the TG cafe, but Kaneki had a picture of him and Hide in elementary school taped on the top of his desk

the whole date with Rize was super awkward (especially the pasta part lol) but I think it created a strange (in a good way) tone leading up to the surprise of Rize’s reveal

omg the actress who played Rize was so good too :0 like the the shift in the pitch of her voice from shy and cute to the deeper, sensual one like in the anime when she revealed that she was a ghoul was so gooood

pretty sure the two people I went with were weirded out by how much I was giggling as Kaneki got flung around like a ragdoll by Rize

I thought the funeral scene was a nice touch, showing how Kaneki's been alone for so long (except for Hide of course)

Hide's drawing of a ghoul from the manga was still included even though it didn’t happen in Anteiku in the beginning (instead it was by on Kaneki's Campus notebook which was also on display at the TG cafe)

when Kaneki hallucinates Rize in his room, her shadow was a centipede on the ceiling!!! 

that was a neat reference thrown in for the fans since we don't make it to Aogiri arc in the movie

that was one of the many things that only manga readers would've understood (which made the movie even more fun for me since that means if was made with that intention and care)

askdflkef when Touka threw cake at Kaneki after getting pissed off I was just like "lmao he's gonna get you a cake for your wedding later you know"

once again, of course Nishiki was perfect casting

I laughed a little too hard when Kimi was embarrassed & Nishiki kept staring at her chest with a blank stare while Hide and Kaneki just kinda stood at the door to his room

the Kaneki licking Hide's face scene™ was so funny (there’s all the Hidekane we gonna get y’all)

one thing that was real cute (cause it happened several times throughout the movie) was Touka telling Kaneki that he was an idiot and to stop crying and after the 1st time (when he learned he could drink coffee), Touka started saying it in a teasing tone rather than an angry one

the scene where Mado and Amon were introduced was actually pretty intimidating, it was right after they killed Hinami’s dad and Mado had Amon smash the ghouls hands with a rock that got bloodier as he continued (luckily the hand was off screen) in order to open

Amon's actor whoo boy (even my mom thought he was hot lmao)

oh my the scene where Mado held up the donut and asked "can you fall in love with this,” Amon was just staring at the donut (but we all know he was nodding inside guys)

(ok now this is me writing the day after aka today and I'm already forgetting the order of certain scenes so this may be slightly out of order rip)

Yoriko was so cute!!!! her actress was really pretty I wish we saw more of her... 

I thought the food scene was kinda awkward though since it's wasn't at their school, but it was funny when Kaneki asked to have some too and Touka wouldn't let him have any

I was trying to look for Touka's bunny charm but I didn't notice it!! I did see something on Yoriko's bag though???

the “shuu” kanji scene was done a little differently but I liked it more

lol Hinami first asked Touka how to read the kanji but she didn’t know (because Touka-chan is bad at Japanese) so Kaneki explained

then Touka was just like "haha yeah that's it" pretending that she had just forgotten and Hinami straight savage calls her out, saying that Touka didn't know in the first place

Kaneki and Hinami both giggled at Touka and ahhh it was so cute, they felt like a family

the process in which Amon, Mado, and Kusaba determined who Ryouko and Hinami were made A LOT more sense in the movie than the animeit showed almost the entire process of them finding evidence starting from simply a string of fabric left behind on Hinami’s father’s clothes

*winks aggressively at Ishida and the director for the graffiti of a scythe and XIII in the background*

Hajime made his cameo the same way he did in the manga (and BOY DID I WANNA SLAP HIM RIGHT THERE that kid has a shady look on his face already I stg)

oh yeah the kagune! I thought they looked pretty decent actually

I liked how the scales shimmered and stuff, but of course some scenes kinda looked too CGI-y (especially the fight with Nishiki)

#blessed that they included the "I would be sad if you died Touka-chan scene"

the training montage with Kaneki and Touka / Amon was so cooooool (ok stfu Alyssa you just loved it cause you got to see strong Touka & shirtless Amon)

omg Kaneki apologizing after landing a hit on Touka for the first time was adorable ok

Touka's overalls when they went to HySy were really cute. I want to draw it when the movie comes out online later

idk why but I kept laughing at the little wrist watch radios that Amon and Mado had on their arms to contact each other???? it was just really weird and funny to see for some odd reason

ohh ok probably one of my favorite scenes was when Kaneki just started fucking speeding towards Amon's car which caused him to jam the brakes (bc some random hooded dude is just sprinting towards you in the middle of the street what else would you do)

then Kaneki just freakin jumps on it all slow mo and flips it over because he's dramatic like that

idk if this was in the manga but Doujima rotated and grinded Kaneki's kagune during the fight (which made more sense then a lollipop that Amon just swings around)???

besides some of the awkward shots in the movie, my only other criticism was that some of the fight scenes were drawn out way too long

Amon and Kaneki's was ok for the most part, but Touka and Mado's fight felt REALLY drawn out. they kept just standing and talking a lot

I tried it on when I was at the cafe but seeing Kaneki wearing the mask during his fight was way cooler and the shot of him unzipping it was noice 

when Kaneki started losing his sanity during the fight with Amon, Kubota had this really psychotic laugh that made me giggle a lot ahhh

yo guys there was a bloody tear from Kaneki's ghoul eye that dripped onto Amon's right eye (his future ghoul eye)... like much wow such foreshadowing director/ishida

near the end, Amon brings flowers to Mado’s grave, but sadly Akira doesn’t show up cryy

all in all I thought it was a very enjoyable, pretty accurate adaptation (definitely one of the best anime live actions & *cough* better than the anime)

I went with two people who knew very little about TG, except for it’s premise, and they thought the movie was really good themselves (although a little too much blood in one of their opinions). Throughout the movie there was a bunch of hidden stuff for fans & probably a bunch more symbolism that I missed so I can't wait to rewatch it in the future (I wish I could go see it again this week tbh) and find even more stuff!!

oh one more thing! the credits were really pretty with BANKA playing in the background and there was some cool art during the scroll

Plucky’s POV

All we needed to get off the hook without any real price to pay was simply to buy another golden anvil! “Alright, anyone got some money?” I spoke up, leading everyone to reach into their pockets revealing a lot of cotton ball lint, staples, nails, teeth, candy (Mmm...), lots of precious junk you’d find in your typical so-and-so’s pockets; this was very inconvenient since we where all in the soup with the Nicktoon Authority and we had to think of a plan fast so I turned to three of my golden boys: Ed, Double D and Eddy, who have been scamming and scheming all sorts of crazy ideas ever since the day they where knighted~ Later that night, the boys arrived in my chamber with the blueprints of their latest, greatest scam.

“Your highness.” Double D spoke up, bowing.

“Imperial Grand Poobah.” Eddy replied.

“Great and Powerful Oz!” Ed chuckled.

“Glad to see you, boys, what do you got for me?” I asked the trio, with their leader smiling and handing me the scroll.

I opened it....and it was the most evil thing I could imagine and much more ingenious than my last idea, not to mention much less cost effective; “Hand me the gold paint and an anvil, boys, we’re gonna save our heirloom!” I'd give ‘em a raise but we where broke, probably from the previous gag we pulled on the Nicktoon Authority.

I was intrigued by Tommy’s story so far and I even got a clue who my father was: half-human, half-snake....maybe my mom was a robot~ all-in-all, it was kinda like a history lesson at school but far more enjoyable and full of life when Mr. Crocker taught it to us, he must have skipped over the good parts in that case.

“You must have had fun during the voyage, Tommy.”

“Yup, I sure did.”

“So what happened when you finally reached land?”

When we finally reached the place for the ceremony in the mother country, ruled over by my cousin, Queen Angelica Klasky Pickles, who was more than ready to knight her newest subjects; sadly, character development doesn’t always come with age!

“We’re back from our mission, your holiness.” Said Helga, with a lot of self-esteem.

“What’s the buzz, cuzz?” I asked her in a less formal way.

“TOMMY AND HELGA, WHERE ARE THE NEW NICKTOONS!? IT’S ALMOST BEEN A WEEK SINCE YOU LEFT AND DESERTED YOUR ROYAL DUTIES!!!” she hollered at us so loudly that the whole throne room shook.

“Hey don’t worry about it, they’re right here with us.” Helga reassured.

“They better be, Helga, or you’re head will pop off like Cynthia did during the war....”

“They’re getting off the ship and are arriving at the palace in right now.” Helga told her.

“Good, make sure they hurry up before midnight strikes.” Angelica replied sarcastically.

“Yes, your majesty.” Both of us replied back.

A few minutes later, all of the new Nicktoons filled up the room and got in line to be knighted, one-by-one; some of them, however, preferred to be knighted side-by-side, for example: a little boy who I later knew was Lincoln Loud was knighted with his sisters in a group and after their initiation, all of them where cheering, hi-fiving, hugging and overall embracing each other; to be honest, they acted as an excited family going to a popular theme park rather than a group who have been honored by royalty. 

Another example of a side-by-side knighting was one for resident duck-humanoid named SwaySway, his smaller and younger sidekick named Buhdeuce, their pet frog Jelly....and a load of bread....that they didn’t even eat after the initiation...I am not making that up.

And lastly there was none other than Sanjay and Craig, holding hands and smiling warmly while walking slowly to Angelica on her throne; after the initiation, Craig lifted Sanjay in the air and spun him around~ ain’t that cute?

After the ceremony, we ushered into the grand ballroom for a glorious view of the night sky through the room’s crystal roof above, Squidward (who was chosen to compose the symphony’s melody) feeling as proud as can be and of course, lots of food on the tables!!! while it was much less chaotic than the banquet on the boat the other night, we all still had fun, I even got a dance with that cutie I’ve been with since we where babies: Kimi Finster!

“Care to dance, Tommy?”

“I’d love to!”

Everyone was dancing, all except for a few wallflowers there: like Squilliam (feeling envy for obvious reasons) and Angelica’s very own daughter, Amanda (maybe she was too young?), sitting down with a doll in her hand...I wonder what was going on in her head? While I was dancing with Kimi, I caught another glimpse of Sanjay and Craig, slowly turning and holding hands but unlike everyone else who was stargazing, they where looking into each other’s eyes~ and then I got this conversation:

“What do you think it would be like if we where assigned to a place where we can stay...together...as roommates?” asked Craig.

“That’s what I wanted to ask you!” Sanjay replied, giggling, until his mood got a little less cheerful when telling him: “But what if we are assigned in different places? what if one of us has to stay here in the mother country and the other must be shipped to the Nickelodeon capital of In-Between?”

“Don’t worry~ if we ever get separated, I’ll just swim to wherever you are.”

“But if you are assigned to the mother country and leave, you’ll never be allowed to come back~ not even the queen herself visits because of the honoraries!”

Craig nuzzled the shorter one, replying: “Getting banished, dishonored by the queen and becoming an enemy to the queen just for you....would be worth it.” this caused Sanjay to smile and hug him and tbh I couldn’t help but find that cute, really.

Just when I was gonna get some punch, Angelica called me on my phone for a private discussion in the throne room; “I’ll be back, Kimi!” I told her as I hurried to the dark room with Angelica, with a dark look on her face, ready to tell me about her plans.

“So, what did you bring me in here for?”

“Tommy....remember when the Looney Tunes and their allies from Jellystone Nation revolted and left the Nickelodeon Kingdom?”

“Yes, I hear it was because of labor-?”

“THAT’S NOT IMPORTANT!” she snapped.

“Sorry!...carry on?”

“I’ve always tried to win them back, even trying to get their new age operatives back on our side with bribe after bribe....heck, I even tried to give them their own country but they still keep denying them! you know what we have to do to force them back under my power?”

“....I have no idea, maybe we can just leave them alone?”

“You don’t get it, do you baldy?”

“That’s not true: I grew hair when I was 3!”

“DO YOU WANNA GET FIRED!?”

“No!”

“Good.....I know how to force them back into the kingdom.....with a powerful and deadly instrument that will strike fear into even those goody-goody powderpoof girls.”

“Deadly? like it could actually kill someone?”

“Not just someone, Tommy....everyone.”

Angelica began bursting with an evil laughter that put great emphasis on her dark plans that would seriously effect things in the nicktoon community for years to come.
