their moral codes directly oppose each other and are formed by extremely traumatic situations they were put in when they were children. jason sees himself in every victim and cass sees herself in every killer and i think they should beat each other up about it. cass's refusal to let anyone kill and her insistence that everyone can change if she can convince them has been explored multiple times but I think bruce's closeness with jason would add another interesting layer to her thought process. all that being said, I don't trust dc to actually pull it off

Fanfics should have Jason and steph interact more like they do in the comics like hugging at the end of task force z instead of just making steph and Cass practically identical so they don’t have to use either and only bringing steph in to make her threaten Jason over hurting Tim because he’s an owo sad boy. Like steph and Cass aren’t Stephen kings shining twins where neither can exist without the other and steph isn’t solely motivated by Tim. It’s a disservice to both characters to strip them back to besties and make their only dynamic each other. Cass and steph should get to exist as their own entities. Do I like steph and Cass interactions? Yes. But not when it’s the only option. And I don’t mean steph and Jason in a romantic sense because they’re siblings your honour.

Tbf the steph and Jason friendship in comics is a very recent thing which I am very happy about considering they have a lot in common and I'd love to see that explored more in fanfics especially bc like I said yesterday there could be a lot of mixed emotions there considering alot of the shit steph had to deal with from Bruce can be seen as a direct result of jason - I think the steph cass thing comes down to the usual of people not knowing about their personalities enough and them not actually even having fanon personalities outside of emotional support with the one thing people do know about them being they're besties so that's how they're written as a double act

Maybe the portal was shut down only a few year ago, like 4 or 5, so Danny could be like 18 and Cass is a similar age. Anyways, she could get hit by the portal and become a halfa, a shadow ghost similar to spectra and Johnny’s shadow but can like switch between shadow form and human. Anyways, Danny senses her and decides to investigate. He then becomes like a mentor to her and friend and they get closer. This could then become a deadsilent fic. And adding Jason into it, maybe Jazz became the next fright knight to be like Danny’s protector and she meets Danny’s new ‘students/protéges’ and Jason develops a little crush on her. Danny becomes a mentor/friend figure to both of the bats as they learn to use their powers and also helping Jason with pit rage. In fact, maybe Jason is taken to see the ghost version of a physiatrist to help him.

I like the idea of a sort of empathy link. They can connect their cores and feel each other’s emotions so they can have a conversation of just pushing emotion or images between each other no matter where they are at.

It could be words and emotions or just emotions and images.

And you would need to willingly share what you want with your partner for most things but some strong emotion will automatically bleed over.

fic idea/prompt/idk: Danny and (insert preferred batfam member here, except Jason cos he's already a halfa) are twins, but not biologicially. Instead, the bat in question is investigating the Fenton Works building, where the portal has been shut down for years, because maybe it's relevant for some case, author's pick. at some point whichever of the bats & birds gets written walks into the deactivated portal, and does exactly what danny did x amount of years prior (preferably at least five, give danny plenty of experience to be able to mentor the new halfa), and the bat becomes a halfa. cue danny flying / portalling from his apartment in gotham to amity park because (and thanks to PhoenixShifter in the BatPham discord for this idea) Danny has a subconscious awareness of the portal since it's linked to his death. sprinkle in a bit of halfa!jason, maybe with an unformed core like in the betta fish fic to explain why Danny hadn't sensed him, and bam! writing prompt! go nuts!
