Sebagrell is like one of my top favourite ships just because of how fun their dynamic is, a demon butler who's just trying to do his job and a crazed reaper who puts no effort in hiding that she's in love with him? Sign me up I got a few headcanons I'm willing to share why not (might be long so have fun ready) - Sebastian first realising he might be developing feelings for Grell is funny, not only does he physically beat himself up for it, but it gets to the point where he just tells the phantomhive servants "If I see ANY red in my view point I'm going to lose it all". But Ciel ends up making it worse when he realised why he's acting like this and starts commanding him to do tasks that involve the color red just out of spite (ex: picking out cherries/strawberries) - Sebastian pre-relationship might've been in deep denial, but in relationship Sebastian had his ego go up to the heavens because not only is he aware that he's winning with a girl like Grell, but he purposely does PDA, ESPECIALLY in front of William just because it pisses him off (P.S. No William is not jealous, he just hates Sebastian's guts and is concerned for Grell's safety because she really picked a manwhore of all people + Will is aro, he's just looking out for his bestie) - Most of the time Grell is the big spoon in the relationship when it comes to cuddling sessions, they do switch turns every now and then but Grell is the one who prefers to hold him instead of him holding her. Sebastian doesn't mind, I mean wife is warm, she's a pillow plus he purposely sheds his hair when they cuddle just to annoy her because it gets stuck in her hair and clothes, but it's okay Grell fights back because she wears a strong perfume and it rubs off on him (he doesn't realise until it ends up triggering Ciel's asthma) - Grell's love language is biting, she bites the absolute hell out of Sebastian when she gets overly happy. Sebastian would describe it as "imagine being in a shark attack on land but the shark only goes after you 5 times a day", he of course got used to it eventually and let her bite him ONLY when he takes his jacket off and rolls up his sleeves because this woman destroyed so many of his jackets and they're not cheap at all. - Sebastian was confused when Grell begun to appear more and more at the manor and Ciel said nothing about it, not even ordering him to kick her out. He soon realises those two were working together because Grell started bribing Ciel with candy to let her into the manor to have her time with Sebastian, not only did Ciel end up having free candy, but it would mean Sebastian would be too distracted to come and stop him from eating it. So of course he let her in and it started becoming an often occurrence. (To the point Ronald started doing the same bribe to get with Mey-Rin). -------------------------------- OKAY I THINK THAT'S ALL THE TIME I HAVE RIGHT NOW, I probably wrote a lil too much but my tism' was triggered what can I say 💜 Hope you enjoy my lil wall of Sebagrell text, as a bonus have a quick lil doodle I did last night

1. My first impression of them. Sweet and adorable, albeit rather klutzy.

2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like). I liked Mey Rin right off the bat (the Phantomhive servants add a lot of heart to the storyline), and that appreciation only increased when she revealed her badass sniper skills during the circus arc! I love it when kind characters also have a ferocious side. 🔥

3. A song that reminds me of them. “almost home” by mxmtoon (which I first heard on @catraears ‘s wonderful Mey Rin playlist here on Spotify)

4. How many people I ship them with. Grelle, Sebastian, Hannah Annafellows, Paula, Agni, Ronald Knox, Madame Red (the three red ladies could make a very cute polycule!)

5. My favorite ship of them. Grellerin, because the vibes are immaculate. You have Grelle helping the maid embrace her femininity after a childhood and adolescence spent stifling it, and offering Mey Rin a passionate romance that surpasses anything found in the pages of her novels. You have Mey unconditionally loving and staunchly supporting Grelle, affirming the reaper’s identity even when so much of the world refuses to understand her. If they fought side-by-side, death scythe and rifle at the ready, these queens would be an unstoppable force! Sebagrellerin is also great…the perfect bisexual trio. 💖💜💙

6. My least favorite ship of them. I seem to recall spotting some nasty nonsense like Mey Rin/O!Ciel in the AO3 tag a while ago; anything like that is a hard pass from me, for obvious reasons. 🤢

7. A quote of them that you remember. “I obey young master’s command to the letter! To greet my master in a tidy manor every day—that is a maid’s duty. The housemaid shall purge the filth from this manor!”

8. Your favorite outfit of them. This dress from the official Gfantasy Sebamey cover!

9. Your least favorite outfit of them. Mey Rin looks fantastic in any outfit Yana chooses for her! 💕

10. Describe the character in one sentence. Though she presents a cheerful countenance by day, the Owl bares her talons by night!

11. What’s the first thing you think about when thinking about the character? How cute she is and how badly I want to cuddle her. 😭

13. Your favorite friendship they have. Her bond with the other servants; I’m a sucker for the trope where outcasts and misfits join together to create a little found family. 🥰

14. Best storyline they had. Her backstory in the maid arc. Those chapters gave us a better understanding of the harsh times that shaped her into a fearsome markswoman, as well as her resilience and ability to retain a beautiful soul despite those trials. Mey Rin’s come a long way from the bleak life in which she was trapped, which made it even more rewarding to see her thrive in the present!

15. Worst storyline they had. I wish she��d been aboard the Campania during the luxury liner arc. It would have been epic to watch her take out those bizarre dolls! 😈

16. A childhood headcanon. When she felt sad or discouraged, child!Rin would hum fragments of the tunes her mother used to sing to her in order to calm herself down.

17. What do you think their first word was? The Chinese word for “flower”

18. How do you think they were as a kid? (Like, were they shy, noisy, wild, etc). Based on the glimpse of babey Mey in canon, I’d say she was a naturally sensitive child forced to toughen up fast in order to eke out a living on the unforgiving London streets.

19. The most random ship you've seen people have with them. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen many ships involving Mey that were too bizarre, though I’m sure those crack pairings exist somewhere!

20. A weird headcanon. Maybe not weird, but spooky…Mey Rin loves telling ghost stories with the Bard and Finny on long winter nights, even though she often ends up scaring herself in the process. 😂👻

21. When do you think they were at their happiest? Those times at the manor when there are no attacks or other catastrophes to worry about, and she was free to enjoy picnics, fun outings in the city, and other bonding moments with the rest of the Phantomhive household.

22. When do you think they were at their lowest? Working as the Qing Bang’s assassin. Mey was surviving, but she wasn’t living.

23. Future headcanon. Partially as a consequence of working with her during their undercover mission, Mey Rin eventually becomes good friends with Ran Mao. At one point, the other woman gifts Mey a panda plushie identical to her own, which the maid treasures.

24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone? The exact number of people she’s killed over the course of her work. That death count comes with the territory, but Mey Rin doesn’t like to dwell on it.

25. When do you think they acted the most ooc. Her character’s been pretty consistent (at least in the manga), though I wish Yana had let her show her true colors earlier on in the story.

26. When do you think they were being "themselves" the most? After becoming a maid, because she could finally express her identity as Mey Rin, rather than being callously treated as Rin, valued only for her keen eyes and deadly aim rather than her personhood.

27. If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet? I’d love to see an AU where she could interact with Jeanne from Vanitas no Carte because they have a lot in common—wonderfully endearing ladies who also have an intense side, past trauma, a well-deserved reputation for being frighteningly talented at putting enemies six feet under, in service to a young master who offered them a brighter future, etc. I just think they should eat macarons together and be besties. :’)

28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did? Nothing really comes to mind? 🤔 Anything my girl does is significant to me! 💖

29. How do you think they would be as a parent? (and if they are a parent, how do you think they would be if they weren't?) An amazing mom. Since she’s prone to anxiety, Mey could definitely benefit from a partner to lend a hand (raising kids is stressful work), but her fierce protectiveness and warm, affectionate demeanor would carry the day more often than not. She’d be patient and gentle, and give the best hugs!

30. The funniest scene they had? Her stunned reaction to Finny’s spine-breaking tackle! 😂

3.What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)

Um, um, my issue is not being able to choose one out of a few scenes that I find myself wishing to finally write. Mainly things like scenes introducing my OCs like Aarushi and Ulva and Adam Borders; 🙈 Characters that have unfortunately not gotten to get as much of their backstory out as I’d like.. Though I did start out with Aarushi, I’ve sort of.. along the way... just gotten distracted by other, new things... Ulva I dunno what happened there.. I gushed about her a few days, did some picrews and a bit of backstory leading up to her.. getting a gf with thanks to @deadly-safety-scissors and her oc ophelia! Aaaand then I guess my brain was like “WELP THAT’S THAT, NEXT VICTI- ER OC.” hyrjdrkftuygi TwT;; And finally with Adam Borders, my newest oc, it’s way more clear what happened. We’d just FINISHED our Amy and Sebastian RP, we wanted to move on and get back to the long waiting Sebamey RP... and then poor Adam was left in the dust 😂😂😂😂😂 Boy I’m such a great parent, aren’t I? 

However that’s not all!! There is another scene not even involving any OCs that I’d love to explore but have yet to! And it’s well.. my own rendition of Sebagrelle happening, basically, but with Stuffy Governess Female Sebastian instead! I’d love to explore how the amorous bisexual goddess of death wins over the little demoness’ cold heart! >w< So maybe one day I’ll get to that!

Lately it’s allll been more Mey Rin than anything.. 🙈  dang this thirsty girl, flustered girl...

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterizations?) Tell us about them.

Uuuuh, I think 1. being Aarushi was gonna be a lot less soft than they turned out.. going awhol from their demonic powers or something.. I mean they do still have issues with said powers, considering they are soft like their dad Agni and do not want to harm people ;w; 2. is Ambrose in my idea of Grim Reaper Ambrose where he doesn’t get a new demon bf named Eddie and resorts to drastic measures... 3. Aidan the Sebagrellerin baby was gonna have have grim reaper “powers” or get grim reaper glasses, I forget, but like.. it doesn’t really make sense considering he isn’t a grim reaper, he just has shared genetics WITH a grim reaper! (grelle sutcliff!) And his bad eyesight isn’t just because of her eyes, but also Mey Rin’s eyes too, so reaper glasses wouldn’t really work. TwT Hmmm I think that’s all I can recall! A lot of time has gone by and my memory is not the best when it’s already chock full of OC stuff and shippy stuff, so yeah  🙈

A conversation, some form of interaction, hanging out, opposing views (nothing aggressive, both seem to be very curious and open to hear other opinions even if they don't change their own). Brotp interaction between the two back in Undertaker's Shinigami days. Anything, up to your imagination. 

Sebastian and Ciel, shipping not intended. Preferrably canonverse. Sebastian thinking of how everyone else sees him as deeply caring for Ciel's wellbeing, which he does with only one intent in mind - seasoning Ciel's soul to add to the 'delicacy' level he desires. Ciel knows this, so even despite living together for three years, he knows Sebastian's 'worrying' and 'affection' are all feints. However, maybe after a particularly bad nightmare, or after Sebastian doing something kind out of apparently no reason, Ciel seems to genuinely be grateful. What are Sebastian's thoughts on this? Maybe something dark and manipulating, kind of in the league of his words in the Green Witch arc when he's burning the laboratory? Or the other way around? Your choice. What I meant with no shipping is because I would prefer if this 'affection' I mentioned wouldn't be taken by you as romantic.

Joker and Bravat Sky, canonverse AU, in which they came across each other when they were young. Bravat was a charlaton, fooling people with fake fortune readings, and they meet by: either Joker is one of the people he tries to do it; or Joker attempts to steal his money and an exchange unfolds.- “Sieglinde, modern AU, rocking Japanese street fashion” (I completely stole this suggestion from the reply post on the blog, is seemed so damn cool!)

Out of all the Black Butler characters, which ones has the personality that would make them wonderfully great to date? And which ones have a personality that would make them to be bad and awful dates?

Finny would be a sweet date, if he can keep his physical strength under control. He’d be an attentive boyfriend, too.

The earl would be an interesting date, I suppose, but he would avoid the nightlife and society, in general. No concerts or parties unless they were held at his manor. Catering (and pretty much all other arrangements) by Sebastian. Probably a short date. Get some food in her, maybe one dance, send her home. LOL, just like with Lizzie, really.

Sebastian would be a great date (really, he would impress any date with lavish arrangements, a tasty home-cooked meal, and a spectacular dessert, etc.). Depending on the person he’s dating, it might lead to who knows what, since he’s good at reading the desires of humans, and he will act accordingly. However, he’s unlikely to develop any serious emotional attachment to his date, so it’s all likely to be for show.

Agni would be a very attentive date… until Soma contacted him to say he wants more curry and naan….

Soma would also lavish his date with gifts and attention, but to the point it could be smothering. Also, it would involve the help of his retinues, like Agni and other servants, so he might come across as being a show-off, even if his feelings are genuine. If he made (by himself) a gift for his date, it would be very sweet but somewhat childish, like the drawing he did of Mina, or the drawings he made of toy concepts.

Ronald would be fun to have a drink or dinner date with, and chances are he’d order the lobster, the surf and turf… the champagne. He’d spare no expense, but he’s unlikely to become attached. Not the kind to make a commitment or “settle”.

Undertaker would be an interesting date, and there could be rather morbid elements to it, but perhaps he knows how to rein that in? I imagine flowers, fresh-baked cookies… and hopefully some beverage NOT served in beakers….

A date with Grell would be wild. A night on the town, eating and drinking to heart’s content. Anything beyond that could get naughty pretty fast. Even if nothing physical actually happened, you can bet Grell would talk kind of dirty pretty much the whole date. Lots of innuendos. Honestly, I think Grell is not particularly experienced, and much of this talk is show. Kind of like Sieglinde and the rather dirty remarks she makes. Read things, heard stuff, hasn’t done much… if anything.

I can’t see William being a good date… unless you really like pigeons LOL! Park bench, bag of birdseed. You get the idea. He might not want to turn the subject to demons, but if a date got him on the topic, they could co-rant about how much they want demons like Sebastian to get wrecked….

Bard seems like an awkward date. He reads girly mags, but I have no idea what his experience level might be like. He’s a bit older than the other regular humans, like in his mid-thirties. Though he seems to only have sex on his mind, when it comes to the topic of women, I think he might actually be very lonely. He sure has Ronald’s type pegged, and he’s right to show concern for Mey-Rin when Ronald shows interest in her. Really, I imagine him only dating to find a wife and settle down. Without Sebastian around, he’d need someone who can actually cook without burning down the house….

Um, who else?

Joker? Not really. Too obviously insincere (or perhaps just too preoccupied with tragic circumstances).

Kelvin? Bad. Very bad. His wife left him, and he was fine with it because he was too obsessed with getting the attention of “beautiful” people. Creeper.

Dagger would be a sweet date, very attentive. But he would obsess, just like he did over Beast… in a sweet and innocent way, placing her on a pedestal. Any date might get treated like a goddess… or the Virgin Mary. Chances are, he would never make a move on her, at least not the first move.

Peter? Nice, but he seems to be an item with Wendy.

Jumbo? Dunno. Probably a nice guy. Seems thoughtful.

Othello would talk nerdy, mostly about what he does… and his breath would smell like licorice. There must be more to him, we just don’t know much about him.

Ludger/Rudgar? Possibly a bit like William, but more relaxed… and in German LOL! Like Ronald, he would go for the finer things in life, and money is no object.

Sascha? Sweet and upbeat, but it could be awkward. He’d probably want to (eventually) show his date pics of the corpses he’s photographed. Perhaps he’s into photography, in general, so he could opt to show other photos he’s taken. Maybe go sightseeing. He likes life much better as a reaper, and he finds politics and history quite interesting, so… it could be interesting. Museums, perhaps?

Wolfram? A bit awkward, perhaps, but kind. It would be hard to get him away from his duty as Sieglinde’s butler.

Lau? As long as his date is “interesting” LOL. He could get up to who knows what on a date. About the only thing I can say is it would be an unusual experience.

1. I've been meaning to write this one forever (working title: "Kitten for a Day"), but the basic premise is that O!Ciel finds an occult book tucked away in one of the back shelves of the Phantomhive library, carelessly recites a spell contained therein, and is turned into a fluffy grey kitten, albeit one who can still talk. When Sebastian discovers his young master in this altered state, he laughs until he cries, much to O!Ciel's fury. After recovering his composure, Sebastian takes a closer look at the tome that caused this fiasco, and assures the earl that the effects will wear off...but only after 24 hours have elapsed. ("A pity, really. If you will permit me to be frank, my lord, you are much more tolerable in this form," he smirks, provoking a bout of angry hissing from O!Ciel) In the meantime, the butler totes kitten!Ciel around and tries to keep the day on track, telling the other servants that the young master is indisposed and needs undisturbed rest in his room. Of course, with Mey Rin and Finny gushing over how cute the kitten is, O!Ciel getting into scrapes when his new feline instincts take control, and Miss Elizabeth appearing out of the blue for a surprise visit, Sebastian has his work cut out for him.

2. A while ago, I wrote a oneshot set in a modern AU where supernatural beings coexist peacefully with humans, Grelle and Hannah Annafellows are married, and the two of them have adopted Luka and Alois as their sons. This idea is set in that same AU. It's time for Alois to learn how to drive, and Grelle is determined to show her boy the ropes. Their practice arena? A nearby cemetery. "It doesn't matter if you hit any of these people, love; they're already dead!" Grelle laughs. "But he still needs to learn proper safety for the road, Grelle!" Hannah sighs. Much like his red-haired foster mum, Alois has a reckless temper and a lead foot...let's just say a few (well, actually a lot of) tombstones get knocked over in the process.

(Believe it or not, this is actually based on my own experiences; my mom taught me the rudiments of driving at the cemetery near our house because the location was relatively quiet and undisturbed. I didn't hit any graves, I promise! XD)

3. Although this could turn into an extremely heavy fic, a part of me would love to write a oneshot about Grelle sitting alone in her room after the Jack the Ripper arc, cleaning and patching up Madame Red's coat while she reflects on the years she spent with An and whether or not she regrets killing her (spoiler alert: she does, but tries not to think about it too hard). Wearing the coat becomes Grelle's way of keeping An close to her, because she can't bear to fully part with the woman.

4. I haven't written for this pairing yet, but I think that Sascha and Othello would make an adorable couple, whether it's just the two of them or a poly relationship involving Ludger. Othello, who's visiting German dispatch to attend a forensics conference, takes advantage of his down time to hang out with bae, helping them build a sprawling, massive toy train set in the apartment Sascha shares with Ludger (I headcanon that trains are one of Sascha's special interests). When Ludger arrives home to see the chaos, he scolds the pair—a futile task, since 'thello and Sascha are too hyped to listen to Debbie Downers. However, Ludger has to admit that it's sweet seeing Sascha this excited and happy, and he grouchily joins in to help the other reapers finish setting up the train set.

Although Mey Rin never received formal musical training, she has a sweet, pretty voice, and often sings to herself when she's puttering around the house or in the shower. Grelle will listen to her sing with a hopelessly smitten grin on her face. Although Mey Rin gets flustered when she realizes Grelle overheard her, Grelle just gushes about how amazing she is ("You far outclass those silly little pop stars, darling!") til Mey is a blushy mess and hides her head in her hands.

One of Mey Rin's hobbies is making craft jewelry, and she'll often give Grelle a pretty new necklace, set of earrings, etc. on important anniversaries. She also likes taking Grelle to quirky antiques stores, vintage clothing shops, and indie book stores, and the ladies rarely leave empty-handed.

When the weather's nice, they ride their bikes together through their neighborhood. Grelle's is a flashy red one, while Mey Rin's bike is a sparkly pink with a wicker basket and rainbow streamers.

Although it took a few years to really get it growing, they have a little vegetable garden out back behind their house. Mey Rin does most of the weeding (Grelle is horrified at the thought of ruining her nails), but Miss Sutcliff helps out, too. She also made a few pairs of gardening overalls for Mey, with cheerful flowers and hearts sewn on to add a little something extra. If Grelle does say so herself, the wife looks very cute in them! >w<

Grelle is an accomplished pianist and plays regularly; not only is music a great emotional outlet for her, it's also an excellent way to flirt with Mey Rin. ;) If Mey's around, she'll come over, sit down, and shyly lay her head on Grelle's shoulder. Miss Sutcliff melts every time.

I headcanon that Mey Rin has anxiety, which can make grocery store runs, socializing, or unanticipated life stressors quite harrowing for her. If Grelle is with her, she tries to serve as a buffer, holding Mey's hand, putting her arms around her, talking her down, escorting her away from the situation, or whatever else the other woman needs. And if Mey is on her own when she feels herself becoming overwhelmed, all it takes is a text or phone call for Grelle to come to the rescue.

Shortly after they started dating, Mey made matching charm bracelets for herself and Grelle, and they've worn them ever since. Mey Rin will add a new charm every time they reach a milestone in their relationship (going on their first roadtrip together, getting married, etc.).

On weekends, they'll go to the local park to have picnics next to a charming little pond with ducks (this was also the spot where they had their first kiss). Mey always brings some birdseed so that she and Grelle can feed the ducks together once they've had their own lunch.  

Although Mey Rin isn't an assassin in this AU, she excels at competitive archery, and Grelle attends every match she's in, usually with a large, hand-painted sign in tow that she holds aloft while cheering Mey on. Mey Rin is equally supportive of Grelle's involvement in the local theatre scene, and attends every production her wife is in.

The two ladies enjoy playing paintball, whether on the same or opposing teams--and Mey is a crack shot! She loves Grelle, but that won’t stop her from getting her wife good if they’re on rival sides. >:3

One of my oldest Grelle headcanons is that the red lady loves breakfast for dinner. Keeping that in mind, Mey Rin and Grelle will occasionally stay up late making waffles or pancakes while playing some upbeat music in the background, or drive out to Grelle's favorite crêpe place when they don't feel like doing any cooking themselves.

Mey Rin learned to prepare various Chinese dishes from her mom, and often makes traditional treats for Grelle, including ones like the moon cakes and egg tarts shown in this artwork here by @champagnecake

They share a love for anime and video games, though Mey sometimes needs to bury her face in Grelle's chest/pass the controller to her wife during the extremely gory bits (since Grelle has a higher tolerance for that sort of thing).

Because owls are one of Mey Rin's favorite animals, Grelle likes to get her little owl-themed gifts (T-shirts, figurines, rugs), and Mey's collected quite a few over the years!

Between the two of them, these bi queens have a ton of pride merch--from cute buttons for Mey Rin's purse to a massive flag that Grelle placed on their lawn (along with a trans pride flag, of course). Unfortunately, since Mey Rin was raised in a very strict, conservative home, she wasn't really able to come to terms with her bisexuality until college...and even then, she struggled with those lingering feelings of guilt instilled by her upbringing. But watching Grelle unapologetically own her identity as a bi trans woman was incredibly inspiring for Mey Rin, and gave her the courage to embrace her queerness. And needless to say, Mey Rin is always on the lookout for trans pride items that she thinks Grelle would like!
