Carillonneur Narilamb? Thoughts? :p
Hullo Joffy!! ᴖ◡ᴖ Excuse the poor drawings.. anywho
Tumblr media
I already sort of talked about their relationship but if ur talking about them in the sense of the Narilamb ship, basically; they’re not officially together, and they’re in an eternal situationship, if you will…
I really don’t think the two would ever be able to be in a proper, stable relationship. at least not until like another century into the future ??They’re both absolute disasters. One could call them soulmates, one would say they’re cursed to be together, it’s a matter of perspective
Tumblr media
The cult has already caught onto their little situation and have started speculating about their relationship. Narinder is mostly oblivious. Carillonneur finds it hilarious .

The real problem with "are they a bottom or a top" fandom conversations is that everyone equates being a bottom with being a sub and being a top with being a dom. Also the whole thing is switch erasure because no one ever includes or considers that option.
BUT ANYWAYS.
Lamb is a Sub. There entire life they have been forced into sitautions where they were either in control or dead, so when it comes to the bedroom and they are with someone they trust they just want to let go and bliss out in. subspace. They were fighting for their life all alone for so long, and then forced into a leadership role they never asked for regardless of whether or not they ended up enjoying it. I think they would just want to be taken care of. All that aside, my version of the lamb is almost always either a sub or a service top. They like caring for others and being cared for.
Narinder is a Dom partially because of ego and partially because he has too many trust issues to properly enjoy subbing (most of the time). Even when he does truly trust his partner there is always that subconscious fear, for that reason subbing would probably be good for him but only after a certain amount of character development. I think there are times when the mood strikes and he needs the comfort of letting someone else take control and take care of him though, so he probably would sub occasionally once you get far enough into the realtionship (with the lamb)
As for the bottom/top debate they are both switches because I demand representation for my demographic. Also they are both top tier freaks. The absolute freakiest.
Shout out to @joffyworld because this post is based on that one post they made. Maybe i'll do the other bishops too idk. I think it would be fun but I also I don't want to copy Joffy too much.

Hi Teruuu! It's me again here to ask more inane questions about one of my favourite fics
I was wondering, how do you see the future of the Lamb and Narinder's relationship developing in Compulsion? They're incredibly toxic but do you think given the extremely long time they'll be together (basically forever) there would ever be a time they would, for lack of a better term, "chill the hell out" or do they do the opposite and get even more toxic as the attachment issues get reinforced over time?
I know you specified no shitten (absolutely for the best I can't imagine they'd be functional parents) so maybe they just stay the same, cannibalistic fetishism and all?
As you can tell, I am normal about this fic and their dynamic.
Thanks!
Interesting question Joffy
I love my followers, yall always give me the best ideas 🥺🥺🥺💥💖💖💖💖💖
This’ll probably sound upsetting but I like to think that their relationship will develop into a very destructive direction. Given the toxic nature of their romance and my constant acknowledgment of this fact, I don’t believe they’ll ever come to a time where they become more “healthy”. Narinder, as you’ve mentioned before in one of your reblogs of my posts, was shaped to be a villain by his environment. The Lamb’s head’s been broken by the trauma that they suffered. They’re a very codependent couple, and nothing good ever comes out of toxic and unhealthy relationships. As I said before, I know I enjoy depicting the two in an attractive manner but I refuse to encourage anything that Narinder and the Lamb do in this AU. So, in this line of thinking I refuse to give them a happy ending with one another.
Really, the only way for the two to truly, TRULY be happy is if they ended up instead with more positive figures that would encourage them to strip away their more damaged aspects. With one another, all of their negatives just get magnified tenfold. To put this bluntly, the two are evil. With one another, all they do is cause harm, terror, and violence to themselves and everyone around them. The full future of their relationship is still unclear to me, but adding gasoline to a flame will never put it out. Their relationship will only develop into a forest fire until eventually all they leave behind is a desert, and they can never go back from that. Not unless someone puts an end to all the wrong that they do before it’s too late.
Buuuttt… I don’t know! Maybe this’ll change. Maybe I’ll actually make them, y’know, tone down. But for now this is what I think they’ll end up as. We’ll see!!

"joffrey baratheon apologist." wait omg do you also feel empathy for joff i thought i was all alone in feeling bad for him, especially at his death....like yea he sucks in many ways but he is like 13 that's practically a baby. stan joffy the just
yes omg so me putting “joffrey apologist” in there was originally a joke. i’ve always loved him, yes, but i wanted something wild in there to go alongside “snowspear jonsa briensa truther” stuff and i thoight having TWO sansa ships AND “joffrey apologist” was funny. plus he’s one of those characters that everyone likes to say “isn’t deep” and once a month i get a slew of crazy replies & anons, having that in my bio would drive them crazyyyy (and it has! twice!! lmao)
but also DOUBLE YES that one post i reblogged about him possibly dissociating was the post that really changed my mind about him. it was maybe a year, two years after i got into the series? and between that + clegane’s headaches i went down this rabbit hole of “how much must it suck to have some sort of invisible disability in this situation.” like. obviously everyone is responsible for their behavior yada yada but just thinking about how the average child struggles with emotional regulation, and how much a child who has early signs of some sort of disorder that he shows like issues with empathy, cat killing, the meltdowns and dissociating...in our world, with a lot of help, there's a chance you can live a mostly normal life while having these problems. but joffrey isn't born with a team of therapists and parents with a strong moral code to help guide him. he's born into an insane situation with three insane and violent parents, never told the word no, and handed a sword. it sucks! i feel bad for him! all he wants is for his mother to tell him he's good at torturing people like damn!!!

Joffy is the captain of the football team and Daeron is a serious and renowned lawyer, they hate each other.
But somehow that doesn't stop them from having sex.
optional tags: odaxelagnia, rough sex, rimming.
My bad habit is trying to build up the world even though it’s just smut.
Today was the first day Joffrey went back to the football field. He had been wrongly suspended for the rest of the season by a complete misunderstanding, but he managed to appeal his case to the National Football Committee, getting back to the field after only three months. However, three months suspension was still a long time, especially for a rising star like Joffrey.
Joffrey Velaryon was Harrenhal FC’s youngest captain in the last three decades. This record was formerly held by his biological father, Harwin Strong, who made it to the captain at the age of 23. Joffrey was made captain at 22, just one year after he had made his professional debut. He was a talented forward player, quick, agile and very skillful at free kicks. He had scored a warping 20 goals in the last season, winning himself the newcomer of the year.
However, just when everyone expected Joffrey to lead Harrenhal to the realm’s cup, he was suspended for getting into a bar fight and injuring four people. The scandal was the biggest gossip on social media for months.
Golden Boy Proved To Be A Violent Hater!
Is Joffrey Velaryon Homophobic?
The LGBTQ+ Society Cancels Joff the Jork
The Westeros Football Committee and The Riverlands League says they will not tolerate violence and hate crime
Joffrey wanted to spit on those damn reporters’ faces, but he couldn't afford to cause any more troubles now. His mother had called the crisis management team, led by none other than the person he hated the most in this world. His serious, renowned, highly competent lawyer uncle Daeron, who Joffrey hated with passion.
“Fractured ribs, concussion, broken legs and snapped fingers,” Daeron read aloud the medical reports of those who were hospitalized by Joffrey, “very impressive, nephew. Are you sure you want to continue your football career? I think you will do better in wrestling, since you prefer to speak with your fists rather than with your mouth.”
See? He had to laugh at Joffrey any chance he got. Daeron had always been like this, looking down upon Joffrey just because Joff didn't go to university. Daeron always treated Joffrey as if he was some kind of savage. Joffrey hated the blonde man for it. He might depend on his physical strength to make a living, but it didn't mean he was an imbecile.
“If you are here to mock me, just fucking leave.” Joffrey rolled his eyes and tried to turn his head away, but the slightest movement sent a sharp pain down his neck. Fuck, he nearly forgot he had a concussion too.
“No, I am here to help you, dear Joff. Mocking is just for my own entertainment.” Daeron chuckled, sitting down at the edge of Joffrey’s hospital bed, “I need your full cooperation to appeal the case. How about you stop throwing me death glares?”
“What do you want?” Joffrey asked through gritted teeth.
“Firstly, I need a complete and honest statement.” Daeron replied, pulling out a recording pen from his pocket, “Why did you beat these people up?”
“They were assholes.” Joffrey said.
“I need more details than that.” Daeron continued, not at all annoyed, “I know you don't beat people up just because they are assholes.”
“Yeah? All the media seems to believe so.” Joffrey scoffed, rolling his eyes.
“No, you are not.” Daeron said so seriously that for a moment, Joffrey was actually moved by the blonde’s words. However, any good feeling Joffrey had for Daeron quickly disappeared when the blonde added, “If so, I would be beaten to death by you a long time ago.”
“Asshole.” Joffrey spat.
“Exactly.” Daeron had the audacity to smile, “You might have put wasabi in my birthday cake before, but you never beat me. So, tell me, Joffrey, what did these people say or do that made you so angry?”
Joffrey bit his lower lip and went silent. Firstly, he didn't want to tell Daeron why he had gone to a gay bar. Secondly, he was reluctant to admit that he had beaten those people up because they insulted Joffrey’s family and called him a pervert.
“I can’t help you if you don't talk, Joff.” Daeron said, but he seemed patient. He was always composed and calm, while Joffrey was often described as a hot-tempered jork.
“What difference will it make if I tell you? I am already suspended. The damage is done. I don't want to go through the humiliation again.” Joffrey said after a long pause.
“Your mother called me, Joffrey. She doesn't believe a single word on social media. She swore that her baby boy did it for a reason. She wants to appeal your case so bad that she’s willing to beg my mother to let me help you. Do you want her effort to be all for naught?” Daeron asked after switching off the recording pen, “So let me ask you again. What made you start a fight in a gay bar? I will switch on the recording again after you are ready.”
The last thing Joffrey wanted was to hurt his mother. Hell, he started the fight to defend her name. He considered for a moment before nodding, indicating Daeron to resume recording.
“Go ahead.”
“They insulted my mother and called her a hypocrite for marrying a gay man.” Joffrey said, his anger slowly building by just recalling the words, “They called me a pervert and…”
“And?”
Joffrey reached out to switch off the recording again.
“I don't deserve their cock.” Joffrey finished, casting his eyes down. He was sure Daeron could understand the hidden meaning in his words.
Joffrey didn’t go to a gay bar to pick up fights. He went to a gay bar like anyone else, to hang out and hopefully get laid. In the sports world, sexual orientation was still a ‘don’t say, don’t ask’ topic. Joffrey hadn’t get laid since he broke up with his boyfriend, and he was desperate. He didn't want to jerk off in his flat like a miserable 14-year-old anymore, so he went out to have some fun. He should have stayed inside. See what his horny got him.
“All right.” Daeron said, “I already have some idea about appealing your case. I need some time to work things out, and in the meantime, you stay put and do not get into trouble again.”
“How could I?” Joffrey snorted, “Look. I am confined to the hospital bed. I think a prisoner has more freedom than me.”
“Be good, Joffrey.” Daeron stood up and headed for the door, “Think about how you can thank me after I get you on the field again.”
“You are just going to help me like that?” Joffrey asked to Daeron’s back, “I thought you hated me.”
“Maybe.” Daeron half-turned and flashed Joffrey a smile, “But I want to see you owe me one so bad. I look forward to your thank-you gift, nephew.”
“Get out.” Joffrey managed between ragged breaths, “My ass is going to split.”
Daeron didn’t answer, for he was busy burying his teeth in Joffrey’s shoulder, hard enough to draw blood. Joffrey hissed as a sharp pain spread from where Daeron’s teeth embedded in his flesh. Joffrey didn’t know which hurt more, his shoulder, or his hole that was stretched to the limit by Daeron’s cock.
Joffrey had no idea how they ended up like this. Today’s game ended with a draw, and Joffrey managed to give two assists, one of them resulting in a goal, which was not a bad performance for someone who hadn’t played for month. The team’s manager drove him home personally, to make sure Joffrey didn’t get into trouble again. When he came out of the sedan, Joffrey found Daeron’s sportscar on his driveway.
It seemed that Daeron was here to collect his reward, or thank-you gift, as the blonde insisted on calling it. Joffrey would never have guessed that Daeron wanted sex as a reward. They had only fucked like what, five times at most? Or ten? Maybe a dozen? Twenty?
“You should have called me.” Daeron murmured to Joffrey’s nape, licking the wound he had just inflicted on the brunette’s skin, “I will fuck you so hard that you won’t be able to sit for a whole damn week. Are you really going to let some stranger from the bar fuck you?”
Joffrey tried to answer, but Daeron took the opportunity to thrust into him, the tip of Daeron’s cock brushing against his good spot, sending a rush of pleasure up his spine. Joffrey moaned and clenched his hole unconsciously.
“Answer me!” Daeron raised his voice, one arm wrapped around Joffrey’s waist, the other pulling the brunette’s hair, “Do you crave cock so much that any one will work?”
“You weren’t here!” Joffrey retorted, his eyes glistening with tears but his tone was full of hatred, “We are just fuck buddies. Do you expect me to keep pure for you, huh? I am not some innocent chick who will wear a purity ring for you.”
Daeron pulled Joffrey’s hair harder, forcing the brunette to exposing his vulnerable neck. Joffrey hissed in pain, but Daeron gave him no time to adjust. Daeron bit hard on the thin skin of Joffrey’s neck, just beside the brunette’s arteries. Daeron tasted blood on his tongue, the sweet and metallic taste made his very being sing with euphoria. He was a vampire when it came to Joffrey. His gum would actually ache whenever he laid eyes on Joffrey. He wanted to bite into the softness of Joffrey’s inner thigh, the hard muscle of Joffrey’s stomach, the juicy flesh of Joffrey’s ass, Joffrey’s arm, neck, chest, fingers, toes, and even the brunette’s cock. He wanted to devour them all.
Joffrey hissed, grunted and moaned, but he was unable to shake Daeron off. The blonde was like a persistent alien, determined to feed on Joffrey’s flesh, blood, and bones.
“Get off me, damn it!” Joffrey cursed, “I told you not to leave a mark.”
Daeron finally lifted his head from Joffrey’s neck, his lips and teeth stained with Joffrey’s blood, the usual calm and collected lawyer replaced by a lustful beast.
“I never promised I would follow your orders.” Daeron said, sneaking his hand down to grab Joffrey’s sagging cock, “You are not hard yet. Do I not please you, nephew?”
Joffrey knew the damn bastard was calling him nephew on purpose, reminding him just how wrong the whole thing was. They were related. They were both men. They hated each other. But why couldn't they stop fucking?
Daeron began to pump Joffrey’s cock while rocking his hips forward, thrusting into Joffrey’s ass without mercy. He thrust so hard that the lube he used earlier was squeezed out of Joffrey’s hole, as the nasty sound of his balls hitting Joffrey’s ass echoed the room. Daeron felt the brunette’s cock grew harder in his hand, sticky pre-cum dripping from the pink tip to his fingers.
Joffrey let out a muffled groan, arching his back and clenching his hole as pleasure took over him. He was in pain. His cock was ready to explode at any moment, the bloody bite marks on his neck and shoulder hurt like hell, his hole sore from taking Daeron’s cock for so long, and his hair was being pulled so hard that he felt his scalp was going to peel off. Everything hurt, but the worst of all, he was so fucking aroused by the pain.
“You are squeezing my cock so hard with your lusty hole, Joff.” Daeron bit Joffrey’s earlobe before licking off the small beads of blood oozing from the teeth-shaped wound, “Are you going to come?”
Yes, yes, he was going to come. He wanted release, so fucking bad.
“Fuck yes.” Joffrey murmured.
“I need you to promise me one thing.” Daeron whispered in Joffrey’s ear, running his finger down the brunette’s shaft.
“Anything!” Joffrey was going insane by the blonde’s teasing, “Anything you say, uncle. Just let me come!”
Daeron said something, but Joffrey couldn't hear a word as a wave of pleasure overwhelmed him. His stomach tightened, his toes curling from pleasure, his skin tingling with unspoken euphoria, as he came in Daeron’s hand. Joffrey’s vision went dark for a moment before he regained his senses.
“Good boy.” Daeron was planting kisses on Joffrey’s ear when the brunette could hear again, “I expect you to keep your promises.”
Joffrey hummed. He had no idea what Daeron had made him agree, but he wasn’t going to find out. Not now, anyway. He would rather cuddle in bed and maybe have a second round after he could feel his ass again. He was sure the promise was nothing. Probably some boring rivalry stuff, or Daeron was asking him for sexual favor. Either way, Joffrey wasn’t opposed to the idea.
Joffrey closed his eyes and began to doze off, with his ass filled with hot, sticky semen.
If you decide to be a whore, be my whore instead.

Could you throw some light on the exact nature of Jaime's relationship with Tommen in the books. It's a widely accepted fact that he doesn't give a shit about any of his biological children,he only cares(or rather cared) for cersei, and for all we know that's probably true(I'm just wasting my energy entertaining alternate fantasies). But I kinda find his relationship with Tommen deeper and genuine than Tommen's relationship with cersei
Well Jaime has very clearly never had much of a relationship with any of his children.
This is partially due to Cersei actively discouraging it from birth onwards (ie. not wanting Jaime to hold them as infants) but he also doesn’t seem to have much of even a ‘normal’ uncle relationship towards them.
Unlike with Tyrion, we never see Myrcella and Tommen running to embrace him, and by and large he doesn’t seem to have really played any role in their lives. Jaime doesn’t know his children as people or express much interest or regret in not being close with them.
He doesn’t feel grief at Joffrey’s death and openly comments to himself more than once about marrying the children together once his fantasy of wedding Cersei is complete, in order to further cement the Lannisters’ proposed royal right to incest (in his head).
Jaime doesn’t even think of Tommen in his internal monologue or refer to him in conversation until he’s back in King’s Landing.
Then we get to Jaime VIII as he tries to whip the Kingsguard back into shape. Jaime expresses general anger at Boros Blount for giving up Tommen so easily on the road to Rosby, and names him Tommen’s food taster, noting that Tommen likes applecakes. That’s the first and one of the only personal things he seems to know about Tommen.
He warns the Kingsguard to not follow Tommen’s whims blindly and to always come to him first if it’s a big decision, such as ordering a horse killed in a fit of rage. We as the readers know gentle Tommen would never do that, but Jaime is all but a stranger to his son.
In Jaime IX, Jaime neutrally observes Tommen during a council meeting, notes how different he is from Joffrey in personality, and comments that he likes to read.
When arguing with Cersei in Jaime I in AFFC, he states coldly that Tommen is no son of his, blaming Cersei for not letting him claim their children as his and jealously insinuating Robert got both her and their kids.
The closest we get to a private heartfelt moment between father and son is:
"Best we go outside, Your Grace." Jaime led the boy out to where the air was as fresh and clean as King's Landing ever got. Twoscore gold cloaks had been posted around the plaza to guard the horses and the litters. He took the king off to the side, well away from everyone, and sat him down upon the marble steps. "I wasn't scared," the boy insisted. "The smell made me sick. Didn't it make you sick? How could you bear it, Uncle, ser?"
I have smelled my own hand rotting, when Vargo Hoat made me wear it for a pendant. "A man can bear most anything, if he must," Jaime told his son. I have smelled a man roasting, as King Aerys cooked him in his own armor. "The world is full of horrors, Tommen. You can fight them, or laugh at them, or look without seeing . . . go away inside."
Tommen considered that. "I . . . I used to go away inside sometimes," he confessed, "when Joffy . . ."
(Jaime I, AFFC)
So there’s the potential for the relationship to evolve into something deeper but unfortunately a number of other factors are preventing that. Jaime expresses a sort of distant fondness for Tommen and clearly doesn’t wish to see him harmed, but he doesn’t view him in a paternal manner or really feel that protective or attached to him. He doesn’t miss Tommen or dwell on him when he leaves the city for the Riverlands.
Unfortunately I’m not sure Jaime will ever see Tommen again.

As Got season 7 gets closer, I’m lamenting the choices re: Jaime & Cersei even more. One thing I often hear is that there was no way for the showrunners to show the JC breakup because it’s all in Jaime’s thoughts.
I feel like some of these people must not have read Jaime & Cersei’s early Feast chapters, because their relationship isn’t just crumbling in Jaime’s head...it’s pretty damn tangible and pretty fantastic and pretty filmable.
I gathered up some key Feast passages to prove my point:
Cersei wiped her tears away on a ragged brown sleeve. "Very well. If it is battlefields you want, battlefields I shall give you." She jerked her hood up angrily. "I was a fool to come. I was a fool ever to love you."
Her footsteps echoed loudly in the quiet, and left damp splotches on the marble floor.
Tommen considered that. "I . . . I used to go away inside sometimes," he confessed, "when Joffy . . ."
"Joffrey." Cersei stood over them, the wind whipping her skirts around her legs. "Your brother's name was Joffrey. He would never have shamed me so."
"I never meant to. I wasn't frightened, Mother. It was only that your lord father smelled so bad . . ."
"Do you think he smelled any sweeter to me? I have a nose too." She caught his ear and pulled him to his feet. "Lord Tyrell has a nose. Did you see him retching in the holy sept? Did you see Lady Margaery bawling like a baby?"
Jaime got to his feet. "Cersei, enough."
Her nostrils flared. "Ser? Why are you here? You swore to stand vigil over Father until the wake was done, as I recall."
"No. Seven days and seven nights, you said. Surely the Lord Commander remembers how to count to seven. Take the number of your fingers, then add two."
Others had begun to stream out onto the plaza, fleeing the noxious odors in the sept. "Cersei, keep your voice down," Jaime warned. "Lord Tyrell is approaching."
"Robert's beard was black. Mine is gold."
"Gold? Or silver?" Cersei plucked a hair from beneath his chin and held it up. It was grey. "All the color is draining out of you, brother. You've become a ghost of what you were, a pale crippled thing. And so bloodless, always in white." She flicked the hair away. "I prefer you garbed in crimson and gold."
Jaime felt his anger rising. "True, Loras does not leer at your teats the way Ser Osmund does, but I hardly think—"
"Think about this." Cersei slapped his face.
Her own twin interrupted her musings. "Would Your Grace honor her white knight with a dance?"
She gave him a withering look. "And have you fumbling at me with that stump? No. I will let you fill my wine cup for me, though. If you think you can manage it without spilling."
"A cripple like me? Not likely." He moved away and made another circuit of the hall. She had to fill her own cup.
Their uncle heard the rebuff. Qyburn as well, and the Kettleblacks, wrestling their bundle through the ashes. Even the guardsmen heard, Puckens and Hoke the Horseleg and Shortear. It will be all over the castle by nightfall. Cersei felt the heat rising up her cheeks. "Rule? I said naught of ruling. I shall rule until my son comes of age."
"I don't know who I pity more," her brother said. "Tommen, or the Seven Kingdoms."
She slapped him. Jaime's arm rose to catch the blow, cat-quick . . . but this cat had a cripple's stump in place of a right hand. Her fingers left red marks on his cheek.
The sound brought their uncle to his feet. "Your father lies here dead. Have the decency to take your quarrel outside."
The disintegration of Jaime and Cersei’s relationship isn’t something that plays out just in Jaime’s head, or during his sparring on the long road to Riverrun. Their relationship implodes in heated arguments, petty insults, rage, and regret all over King’s Landing and in front of witnesses.
It’s realistic and delicious and it’s a shame the showrunners chose to have two seasons of Jaime running in circles over this toxic mess.

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
Part 2 of for an even more unpopular opinion… My interpretation of canon Cersei is the she is a bad mother. I’d go as far as to say she’s a narcissistic mother and that her loving her children was not genuine love.
But I can make a case for Cersei being a bad mother regardless if habors genuine love or narcissistic love for her children. So I’m going to do so under the cut.
Here are the following assumptions for either scenario:- Cersei loves her children (the kind of love is debatable)- Cersei is motivated to protect her children- Cersei mourned the loss of her children (and her father)- Cersei herself is an abuse victim- Cersei is a victim to the patriarchy
[Part 2: If Cersei is a Narcissistic Mother…]
Narcissistic Love
- Cersei’s love for her children is a form of narcissistic love
Cersei does love her children. Yes. There’s no disagreement there. Her children are one of the most important things to her but not in a… ‘i love my children’ way rather in that her children as an extension of herself. She loves them because they are her children and she sees their power as her power, their successes as her successes. She does not love them as separate entities with their own strengths, weaknesses and personalities rather she considers them to be an extension of herself.
There are times when Cersei expresses worry for her children, the worry is tied to her own well-being and her own power as opposed to that of her child. In fact this is shown in her reaction to Tommen losing weight.
Tommen had always included to plumpness, but his face seemed thiiner now. Is he eating well? She must remember to ask the steward. She could not risk Tommen growing ill, not with Myrcella in the hands of the Dornishmen.  (AFFC)
For like 0.2 seconds, Cersei seemed genuinely concerned for Tommen’s health but it reverts to Cersei’s worry that with Myrcella in Dorn that Tommen being ill would be a political disadvantage. She has a very similar reaction when she learns of Myrcella’s marred beauty and she sees it as a personal weakness.
She uses her children as political extensions of herself to compensate for what she views as an injustice in the system since as a woman she cannot yield power. She’s thought of herself numerous times as her father’s “son” in that she is her father’s legacy and since she cannot accomplish that on her own, she lives vicariously through her children and what they represent. Cersei only looks after her children’s interest when it also benefits her. This is a result of her being unable to separate her children from herself and see that what’s best for her children as individuals might not necessarily fit what she assumes is right for them
- Golden Child vs Scapegoat
There’s more information here But here’s the gist.
The Golden Child, as the name suggests, is the best and most wonderful child – at least in the eyes of the Narcissistic Mother. It seems to be that the Narcissistic Mother picks the Golden Child to be an extension of herself, onto whom she projects all her own supposed wonderfulness.
The Golden Child can do no wrong. She gets given the best of everything – perhaps even apartments or houses bought for her. Her most minor achievements are celebrated and held up for admiration. Her misdemeanours are glossed over and ignored.
The Scapegoat on the other hand is, also as the name suggests, the person on whom all the ills of the family are projected. They can do no right. Their major achievements are dismissed. Any money spent on them is the bare minimum and is spent begrudgingly.
Sound familiar? After Joffrey’s death, we see more of Cersei’s thoughts about Tommen contrasting with Cersei’s thoughts about Joffrey.
Tommen considered that. “I … I used to go away inside sometimes,” he confessed, “when Joffy …”
“Joffrey.” Cersei stood over them, the wind whipping her skirts around her legs. “Your brother’s name was Joffrey. He would never have shamed me so.” (AFFC Jaime I)
It’s the classic example of the golden child and scapegoat relationship, especially when Tommen takes the throne and Cersei continuously compares Tommen’s failures to Joffrey’s successes when it’s very very clear that Joffrey was a very flawed ruler. Cersei does not acknowledge that because she is blinded by the fact that Joffrey as her first-born, as her (former) security to power, he was her precious and perfect little boy.
Whereas with Tommen, yes Cersei is grieving and has reasons for being so keen on power beyond the simple fact she’s power hungry, Cersei actively negates Tommen’s decisions and opinions and puts them down so she can manipulate him to use his power to her advantage.
Again and again, Tommen is reminded that he is not enough. Frankly it’s counterporductive since Cersei wants Tommen to be a strong ruler, she’s denying him the opportunity to do so. She makes him appear weak because she disagrees with him and essentially brainwashes him to do things as she sees fit.
- 10 Signs of Narcissistic Parent (how it relates to Cersei)
1. Uses/Lives through one’s childAlready talked about, how Cersei uses Tommen as a puppet king to remain regent and hold the power she’s always wanted and uses her child more so to gain political power for her own sake than their own safety.
2. Marginalization  Cersei breaks down Tommen’s self-esteem by referring to a lot of his behavior such as crying and showing emotion as being ‘a baby’ despite the fact he is a young boy and experiences a lot of trauma, the rotting corpse of his grandfather and pate’s whipping.
Marginalization can include includes nit-picking, unreasonable judgment and criticisms, unfavorable comparisons, invalidation of positive attitudes and emotions, and rejection of success and accomplishments. The common themes through these put downs are: “There’s always something wrong with you,” and “You’ll never be good enough.” (Psychology Today)
3. Grandiosity & SuperiorityThis is seen in Cersei’s general belief in that she was meant to be Queen and entitled to the same benefits as a man and that she is smarter than everyone else.
Some children of narcissistic parents are objectified in the same manner, while others are taught to possess the same, forged superiority complex: “We’re better than they are.”  (Psychology Today)
Lets talk about Lannister pride. I mean ALL the houses have pride in Westeros but there’s something about how Cersei views the Lannisters and portrays that to her children that is inherently problematic.
Cersei Lannister:(believing the battle is lost) Shh. Calm, my sweet.
Tommen Baratheon:They’re still fighting.
Cersei Lannister:No one’s going to hurt you. I’ll tell you a story. You know the one about the mother lion and her little cub; they lived in the woods.
Tommen Baratheon:The Kingswood.
Cersei Lannister:Yes, my love. In the Kingswood lived a mother and her cub. She loved him very much, but there were other things that lived in the woods. Evil things.
Tommen Baratheon:Like what?
Cersei Lannister:Like stags.
Tommen Baratheon:Stags aren’t evil. They only eat grass.
Cersei Lannister:And wolves. They could hear them crying in the night, and the cub was frightened. His mother said, you are a lion, my son. You mustn’t be afraid, for one day all the beasts will bow to you. You will be king. All the stags will bow, all the wolves will bow, the bears in the north and the foxes of the south, all the birds in the sky and the beasts in the sea. They will all come to you, little lion, to rest a crown upon your head. And the cub said, will I be strong and fierce like my father? Yes, said his mother. You will be strong and fierce, just like your father. (takes out a bottle of poison) I will keep you safe, my love. (brings the poison to Tommen’s lips) I promise you.
(Game of Thrones Season 2)
Okay. Let’s not even talk about the fact that Cersei’s go to is lets kill ourselves. Yes, I know there are a lot of dangers if Cersei and Tommen were captured but still, I mean I guess in the context of the war, okay.
Anyways, lets focus on the story she tells Tommen. It inflates a sort of grandiose and entitlement and is honestly based on fairly superficial things. There’s a lot to analyze but there’s the fact this sort of egotistical thinking is at the expense of one’s humanity and through this story, you can imagine the sort of parenting Cersei instructed Joffrey that probably inflated Joffrey’s uh… Joffrey craziness.
4. Superficial ImageCersei considers herself one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful woman in Westeros, and she is one of them.
Closely related to grandiosity, many narcissistic parents love to show others how “special” they are. They enjoy publically parading what they consider their superior dispositions, be it material possessions, physical appearance, projects and accomplishments, background and membership, contacts in high places, and/or trophy spouse and offspring. (Psychology Today)
Aka Cersei attending Small Council Meetings and being Regent and how she wields her children’s power.
5.  Manipulation
Common examples of narcissistic parenting manipulation include:
Guilt Trip: “I’ve done everything for you and you’re so ungrateful.”
Blaming: “It’s your fault that I’m not happy.”
Shaming: “Your poor performance is an embarrassment to the family.”
Negative comparison: “Why can’t you be as good as your brother?”
Unreasonable pressure: “You WILL perform at your best to make me proud.”
Manipulative reward and punishment: “If you don’t pursue the college major I chose for you, I will cut off my support.”
Emotional coercion: “You’re not a good daughter/son unless you measure up to my expectations.”
A common theme running through these forms of manipulation is that love is given as a conditional reward, rather than the natural expression of healthy parenting.
Do I even need to find more examples of this?
6.  Inflexible and Touchy
Tommen did as he was bid. His meekness troubled her. A king had to be strong. Joffrey would have argued. He was never easy to cow. “Don’t slump so,” she told Tommen. “Sit like a king.” (AFFC, Cersei II)
Cersei is very rigid in how she expects Tommen to behave. Again and again, she repeats she wants him to behave in the same manner Joffrey did and is very easily triggered when Tommen acts differently. The inflexibility and touchiness comes from her desire to control Tommen and mold him into Joffrey because she views Joffrey as her most perfect son, the perfect image of strength and likely because she sees a lot of her traits in Joffrey.
7. Lack of Empathy
Going back to Tywin’s funeral…
The boy recoiled at the sight, but his mother seized his wrist before he could pull away. “Pray,” she whispered, and Tommen tried. But he was only eight and Lord Tywin was a horror. One desperate breath of air, then the king began to sob. “Stop that!” Cersei said. Tommen turned his head and doubled over, retching. His crown fell off and rolled across the marble floor. His mother pulled back in disgust, and all at once the king was running for the doors, as fast as his eight-year-old legs could carry him. (AFFC, Jaime I)
“Do you think he smelled any sweeter to me? I have a nose too.”She caught his ear and pulled him to his feet. (AFFC, Jaime I)
Cersei does not try, rather has the inability, to be mindful of Tommen’s thoughts and feelings and validate them as a good mother would. In this moment, only what Cersei, the parent, thinks and feels matters.
8.  Dependency/Codependency
This one doesn’t fit the most as Cersei is not exactly dependent in the general sense but her power and her sense of worth stems from her child’s successes because that because her strengths and her power. She is regent through her son and was Queen Mother under Joffrey’s rule and the power she was not able to obtain on her own, she obtained through her children.
9. Jealousy & Possessiveness
In particular, the appearance of a romantic partner in the adult offspring’s life may be viewed as a major threat, and frequently responded to with rejection, criticism, and/or competition. In the eyes of some narcissistic parents, no romantic partner is ever good enough for their offspring, and no interloper can ever challenge them for dominance of their child. (Psychology Today)
Yes, Margaery and the Tyrells are political manipulative players in the game. Regardless, Cersei still very much wants her children to be permanently under her influence and has shown extreme jealous when her children gain some maturity and independence.
“He will never have a wife you don’t hate.”– Margaery Tyrell to Cersei Lannister
The king was pouting. “I want to sit on the Iron Throne,” he told her. “You always let Joff sit up there.”“Joffrey was twelve.” “But I’m the king. The throne belongs to me.” “Who told you that?” […] The queen could smell Margaery Tyrell all over this rebellion. […]He shuffled his feet. “Lady Margaery.” He knew better than to call her queen in his mother’s hearing.“That is better. Tommen, I have grave matters to decide, matters that you are far too young to understand. I do not need a silly little boy fidgeting on the throne behind me and distracting me with childish questions. I suppose Margaery thinks you ought to be at my council meetings too?” (AFFC, Cersei V)
Bad influence or not. This sort of jealously is characteristic of a narcissistic parent. And while Margaery was manipulating Tommen to her own advantage, Cersei never considered the possibility that Tommen could develop genuine feelings and potentially want to do things for himself as opposed to simply depend on Cersei’s guidance and the fact well… she wants his power for herself? I mean. I do not need a silly little boy fidgeting on the throne behind me and distracting me with childish questions. It’s literally Tommen’s throne and a good mother would have appreciated his interest and did her best to guide and teach him how to rule independently rather then take advantage.
10.  NeglectHere we are back on neglect.
In some situations, a narcissistic parent may choose to focus primarily on her or his self-absorbing interests, which to the narcissist are more exciting than child-raising. These activities may provide the narcissist the stimulation, validation, and self-importance she or he craves, be it career obsession, social flamboyance, or personal adventures and hobbies. The child is left either to the other parent, or on his or her own.  (Psychology Today)
Myrcella and Tommen are very much after thoughts (that could be a thing on GRRM’s writing) but early on in the books Cersei is primarily focused on Joffrey as the heir, as her greatest success so to say. And she very often ignores Joffrey’s behavior and opts not to see or believe it. Cersei considers Myrcella when Myrcella is taken away by the marriage and doesn’t think from Myrcella’s prespective of safety and a good marital match but focuses on losing a daughter but not in a loving way more so in a she loses a part of herself, the reflection of her beauty and what not. But until Myrcella leaves for Dorne, both younger children are neglected. And once only Tommen remains in King’s Landing and becomes King, Cersei puts his personal needs aside and focuses on her new role as regent. Not because she wants to prepare Tommen to be a good ruler but rather she seizes the power for herself.
“Will the king be joining us?” asked Orton Merryweather.“My son is playing with his little queen. For the moment, his idea of kingship is stamping papers with the royal seal. His Grace is still too young to comprehend affairs of state.” (AFFC, Cersei IV)
There would be time later to tell him about Margaery and her cousins. “There are some warrants that I need you to sign.“ For the king’s sake, the queen had left the names off the arrest warrants. Tommen signed them blank, and pressed his seal into the warm wax happily, as he always did. Afterward she sent him off with Jocelyn Swyft. (AFFC, Cersei X)
Numerous times Tommen expressed interest in learning how to be a better king but Cersei repeatedly turned him down and her encouraging him to simply play puppy and sign blank papers leads to her own downfall but that’s a whole different thing. Tommen is mostly left on his own to entertain himself. If Cersei was honestly concerned with protecting her child, then instead of running state affairs herself for her own sake, she would have spent more focus on grooming Tommen to be a good and strong leader and spent time with him as opposed to sending him off or letting him play alone in his room then scold him as she saw fit.
Again this is my interpretation of Cersei’s supposed love for her children. Regardless of it being genuine or not… still doesn’t make her a good mother.
