Eris’s dogs liking his partner more than him. He comes home one evening and they’re curled up on the couch with his partner and don’t even bother to get up to greet him. Ultimate betrayal.

lololll yeah his heart would shatter to little tiny pieces in his chest, but hopefully only in the moment it took him to realize they aren't getting up because his partner is fast asleep and they don't want to disrupt that. eris always finds it easiest to be softest near sleep, whether that is himself or his partner finding it — when the muzziness of dreaming makes the intensity of his affection feel more manageable. so it isn't much of a decision, really; he goes over and slots himself in wherever he fits, careful enough not to wake his partner. one of his hounds readjusts a little, but not much. by the time his partner stirs a half hour later, he is fast asleep against the other armrest, legs entangled with theirs, two pups having shifted to rest their drooling heads on his belly. yeahhhh. yeah !
