tw for psych horror & implied manipulation??

Okay so I got inspired by 10 Cloverfield Lane (which btw is an amazing movie you should watch it!) But if you haven't it's a psych horror, basically this lady wakes up in this bunker and the people there tell her the surface is uninhabitable, like there's been an apocalypse and the air is toxic, it's dangerous etc etc. But of course she starts doubting this and tries to escape.

I was thinking, (and the thought has been getting more fuelled by a lot of Protective Chris/Yan Chris art I saw around LMAO), of an older Chris taking his wife to a safe-house under a similar concept as 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Like "oh the worlds over doomsday happened you're here to be safe in the safe-house, no where else is safe anymore."... But then the reader/wife starts questioning it, if he's lying.

Are bioweapons even real? Where does the truth begin and Chris' protectiveness be justified- and where does it end at false fake conflicts/dangers he made out of paranoia for his family's life after losing so many others in the field? Yeah like that sorta thing lmao.

I keep flipping back and forth on whether I want Chris' choices to be legitimate or not, and whether it's the reader/wife's paranoia and isolation making her doubt Chris, or it's genuine reasoning and Chris is genuinely lying to her.
