Detonation
Summary: As an FBI agent, YN deals with bad guys all day long. So does Bucky as an Avenger. When their worlds collide, it’s never pretty. Especially not when they are the targets.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader

AN: This was another request from @cherry-season and if you can’t tell by reading this I’ve been watching criminal minds again so I hope you guys like this one. GIF is not my own credit to original creator.
YN leaned back in the desk chair, spinning it halfway back and forth. Boring a hole into the scattered papers of the police department. She was exhausted. Their team had been after this same guy for a week now. A real piece of work: planting bombs in DC banks. Leaving cryptic messages with them. Fortunately, their bomb squad made it in time to dismantle the charge before it blew. But they were no closer to catching the guy than before.
“Shitty coffee?” A deep, masculine voice approached her side. Placing a coffee cup in front of her. YN smiled, gratefully accepting the beverage. She glanced up to the provider, one of her teammates, Alex Knowles. “Look like you could use it.”
“That a way of telling me I look worse than the coffee?” YN teased, chugging the lukewarm drink down. So accustomed to cheap, watery coffee, she barely even gagged at the bitter taste as it went down. “No leads?”
Alex shook his head, pulling up a chair and plopping beside her. He sighed, gazing out over the bustling police station. Watching the beat cops go in and out of the doors, suspects and victims all being questioned or held in the same room. A Mecca of activity unfolding before their eyes. Progress. Just not the progress they needed.
“Kinda hoping Bryant would bring something back in- he went to question a couple witnesses that were around the bank at the time the guy dropped the bomb off.” He reported, sitting forward to shuffle through the papers on the desk. “What’s all this?”
“Those are previous reports…” YN explained, brushing stray hair back from her face. “I thought he could’ve had a previous record… he built these bombs with some kind of knowledge- whether it be academic or street smarts, I’m not sure yet. Besides, not doing anything else.”
Alex nodded, letting the paper slip through his fingers and back to the desktop. He watched his teammate reorganize the stacks- the glittering diamond on her finger catching his eye. A devilish grin cracked his lips, whistling appreciatively.
“Barnes finally asked that question, did he?” He asked, putting his cup down and gesturing for her hand. YN rolled her eyes, suppressing a smile as she complied. Alex studied the rock more closely, examining the quality. “Got good taste for somebody as old as he is.”
“Oh shut up.” YN laughed, yanking her hand back.
She and Bucky met on a case. Their FBI team had been invited into a local investigation of suspicious activity. Turns out, the Avengers were also looking into it. Well, a team of four Avengers anyways. Bucky Barnes being one of them. He was smooth, a sweet talker. Managed to wriggle his way into her phone, later he would swing a date. Two years later, Bucky was down on a knee in her bedroom. Asking one of those life altering questions.
That had been three weeks ago. They barely had time to see each other after that night. She was pulled back into work, he was pulled halfway across the globe on a mission. He did call every night, checking in. Asking about her day. Making outrageous, silly promises about the wedding and their new home, their future. Making her smile, distracting her from her day. At the same time, allowing himself to dissociate from the mission he was on as well.
“I’m happy for you.” Alex’s tone turned sober, serious. YN glanced over to him. He leaned his elbows on his knees, smiling broadly. “You both deserve someone like the other… you deserve each other. I mean it in the best, possible way.”
“Thank you, Alex.” YN replied, reflecting her sincere gratitude as best she could. Alex was always in her corner. No matter what- he trusted her. In their world, that meant everything and more.
“Hey, LN- Knowles!” Ricky Bryant came rushing into their area, flushed and out of breath. “Listen, I think we might’ve found the bomber’s identity: Casey Griffin. ”
“What?” YN leaned forward, staring up at him. Her eyebrows furrowed, a faint pin struck the back of her head. “Griffin… Casey Griffin- that sounds familiar. Why is that familiar?”
Ricky opened his mouth, ready to spill all the information he had gathered about the man. A woman interrupted their circle, a panicked look in her eyes.
“Agent LN- there’s a call on line six for you. He claims to be responsible for the bombings and he’s demanding to speak with you.” She interjected, nodding to the desk phone. YN glanced from Ricky to Alex.
“Get Robbie on the phone- tell her we need to trace this call immediately.” She instructed, rolling to the desk to pick up the phone. She waited a moment, allowing Ricky to call Robbie, the fourth member of their team. Their tech analyst. “Ready?”
“Yeah- go ahead.”
YN took a deep, calming breath. Her fingers tightened around the phone anxiously. Swallowing back her creeping nerves, she pulled the phone off the receiver.
“Agent LN, may I ask who’s calling?” She began slowly, giving Robbie a chance to snag the call’s location. There was heavy breathing on the other end, as if he had been running.
“You know who’s calling, YN. Don’t play coy- it isn’t a good look on you.”
Recognition struck her like lightning as she heard his voice. He had been one of the hostages in the first emergency scene. YN had taken down his statement herself. She ground her teeth together, anger flooding her system. She had been played.
“You’ve got me there, Casey.” She chuckled, her free hand wiping down the thigh of her tactical pants. “This is the first time you’ve called- why are you just now contacting us?”
The sound Griffin made was far from a laugh- the dark, slow noise was bone chilling. Nauseating. She could feel it deep into her clothes, settling like frost against her skin. She bit her cheek, staving off the urge to shiver through the discomfort.
“I’ve decided I want to give you front row tickets to the show, of course.” He crowed, voice leaping in octaves. “Corner of West and Fifth. You have half an hour, unless you want all these lovely people to end up blood splatters and burn marks on the floors.” YN winced, clenching her jaw. “Oh, and YN? Come in alone.”
The telltale click and beep ended the call, leaving YN to stare blankly at the desk before her. Clenching the phone in her grasp so tightly the plastic creaked. Knuckles lightening. She swallowed, something was clutching her throat. Restricting her lung capacity. Her shaking fingers pressed the phone into the receiver. Pushing her chair back, she stumbled to her feet.
“YN- “
“I just need a minute, okay?” She snapped, snagging her jacket from the chair across from the desk. YN shoved past the incoming traffic of people, fumbling her way outside.
The city was full of noise; Blaring car horns, shouting, a low murmur of pedestrian conversations. Sirens. The thrum of the city’s heartbeat under her feet. Taking a left into the alleyway, YN dug through her pockets, fingers brushing against the carton of cigarettes and lighter.
Hands trembling, she put a stick between her lips. Blowing smoke as soon as she lit it. Tilting her head back against the weathered brick of the station. A shaky exhale following the wavering grey smoke. She clenched her jaw, bowing her head.
She knew it was a trap- Casey was asking to meet alone. But he was holding hostages in a bank loaded down with explosives. And who knew what he wanted, why only her? Why alone? And why was that name familiar? None it made sense- facts blurring together. Shrouding him from her senses.
A sudden buzz against her abdomen sent her reeling back into consciousness. Her cigarette was gone- flicking the filter to the ground. Pushing it into the cement with her boot. Her fingers scuttled through her pocket, retrieving her phone.
Bucky’s contact photo- one of him fast asleep with fridge magnets on his arm. She smiled- somehow Bucky always knew right when she needed him. Like he had a sensor on her emotions, giving him timely reports. Updating him constantly.
“Hey, Buck.” She greeted, begging her voice to not crack. It sounded normal. Or at least enough that she hoped Bucky didn’t question it. Tucking the phone between her shoulder and ear, she lit another cigarette. Blowing the stress away from the speaker.
“Hey, sugar,” She could hear his smile through the phone. That excited one he always got when he first saw her. Wide, showing off his teeth. Stretching his face so much she wondered if it hurt. “I’m just callin’ to tell you I’m home. And I know you’re busy but, I wanted to hear your voice again.”
YN laughed, falling into the regular rhythm with him. Allowing herself to feel the stress melt from her bones. Bucky always had that affect on her. Something she couldn’t quite understand. Why the man was such an addictive drug.
“Well, you’re in luck- I’m on a break right now.” She wanted nothing more than to sit and talk with him, listen to his baritone drawl. Lulling her into a state of comfort and security. But she knew she couldn’t- she had limited time. She had to make a decision. And soon.
“Are you smoking again?” Bucky asked. YN smiled, biting down on her lip. She made a noncommittal noise, neither agreeing or disagreeing with his statement. He had been after her for their entire relationship to make her quit the habit. Trying to help her kick it. Nothing ever really helped. “YN…”
“I know… I’ve only had two. I just… I needed a break.” She admitted, bowing her head. She shifted her eyes to the alleyway opening, seeing Alex and Ricky approaching her. “I’ve got to get back. I’ll see you at home?”
“Yes, I’m making that soup you like for dinner. Don’t let it go cold.” He warned.
“I won’t. Love you.”
“Love you too.” She shoved her phone into her back pocket, meeting her partner’s halfway. Their faces drawn with concern and hesitancy.
“Gear me up.” She pushed between them, not looking back. She feared if she looked at them again, she would lose her nerve. Holding her shoulders back, chin tilted with her head held high. She had to keep the air of confidence around her. If she didn’t- they would never believe her. YN needed full backup for her plan. “I’m going in.”

The building seemed to loom over her, taunting her as she stood before it. The large windows were gaping at her, a threat to her minuscule presence. YN swallowed back the terror she felt, pushing it down and locking it away. Out of reach.
“We’ll be talking with you through the comms unit the whole time.” Ricky explained, securing the equipment over her ear. He carefully tightened the straps on her vest, glancing to meet her eyes. His brows dipped. “You don’t have to do this you know? We can raid the building or get a sniper down here. This isn’t the only option.”
YN shook her head, clipping her holster over her belt, around her waist. She sighed, the exhale was shaky. Biting down on her bottom lip to keep it from trembling, she clipped extra ammunition to the side.
“It’s the one where everyone makes it out. Those hostages are the main priority right now.”
“Hey.” Ricky stopped her nervous movement, hands on both of her shoulders. Forcing her to look up at his face. “Don’t do that. Don’t make it seem like some small bust… this is serious. We’re worried about you. About this. It’s dangerous. Give a little of that focus to yourself.”
“Okay.” YN agreed. She inhaled again, this time a little more steady. Giving a final affirmative nod, she squared her shoulders and backed away. She turned, facing the group of DC police officers and FBI squads. “Alright, these comms go both ways. I’m negotiating for hostages first. If anything goes wrong, clear the site. We don’t know how many explosives he has in there.”
YN watched the groups follow her orders, setting up to accept hostages. Loading guns for a raid if needed. Both ambulance and fire department had been called in. The companies were also preemptively preparing for the worst. She began walking toward the bank, eyes forward. What felt like thousands of eyes followed her to the door, fire burning against her back.
As she approached, she could see a woman standing at the glass door. She had been crying- her face stained with tears. YN stopped at the glass door, standing face to face with the woman. After several moments of staring, the order was finally given to open the door. The woman’s shaking fingers unlocked it, pushing it open.
“You’ve served your purpose.” A quiet voice spoke across the lobby, echoing on the tiled floors. “You may go.” The woman burst into tears, shoving past YN and onto the street. “Agent LN… how courteous of you to take her place.”
YN entered the lobby tentatively, keeping her head on a swivel. She turned the corner, coming face to face with the bomber. Casey Griffin stood behind the group of hostages, hands tucked behind his back. A twisted, sacrilegious grin on his lips. The group at his feet were huddled together, most were sobbing quietly. Holding people they most likely didn’t know. She knew from experience that tense situations erased all lines between humans. Everything begins to blur when terrified panic sets in.
“I’m here, Griffin. What do you want?” She demanded, her hand resting on her weapon. There was a buzz of static in her ear, the line opening.
“We don’t have a visual of you anymore, LN. Get back into sight.”
Griffin took a step forward, around his subjects. A small, black remote in his hand. Eyes steady on her face. Studying her. He exhaled sharply, coming to a stop right before her.
“I was hoping you’d be more… well, more.” He frowned, disappointed. YN’s eyebrow lifted, unable to follow his thoughts. “Such a shame… I’ve read all these great things about you. Every case you’ve solved, every step you’ve made to get here. You’re much more impressive on paper.”
“Get to the point.” YN sneered, her jaw clenched. Griffin smirked, eyes scanning down her face again. He sighed, rolling his eyes.
“All you feds- no taste for the theatrical. I much rather prefer the Avengers.” He grinned, eyes sparkling dangerously. YN felt her heartbeat pick up It’s pace. Heart threatening to burst out of her chest. “Oh, that’s right… congratulations, by the way. What’s it like- being engaged to a fossil? Are his brains still scrambled?”
“Shut up.” She hissed, fingers itching to reach out and wrap around his throat. He only tilted his head, pouting. He began pacing, orbiting around her slowly. Her shoulders tensed, defenses began raising even further. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, you see, I’m very well acquainted with Sergeant Barnes.” Griffin slowed to a stop again, on her right. He leaned in, close enough she could feel his breath against her skin. “He murdered my husband.”
The pounding in her chest seemed to have leapt into her throat. Breathing was much harder now, her skin crawled as her brain went into overdrive. Something was wrong… what was going on?
“He doesn’t do that anymore.” YN admitted, her voice lower than she thought it would be. Threatening to crack.
“But he does.” He hissed, gripping her arm tightly. Yanking her to his chest. His free hand came up to her ear, ripping the unit out and flinging it into the wall. His fingers fluttered down to her chin, grasping it tightly and forcing her face to his. He stared down at her. Anger burning in his irises, the dark circles under his eyes. His nostrils flared. “What makes it even worse is that he chose to do it. With Hydra, he had no choice. But with the Avengers? He had every decision laid out before him and he chose.”
YN flinched, flecks of saliva landing on her cheek. Her jaw clenched down tighter, eyes closing momentarily. Griffin’s hand crept down from her face, into the pocket of her pants. His fingers grasped the device, pulling it out. He held the device to her face, unlocking it then shoving her away.
“So now,” Griffin gave her a maniacal grin. YN was beginning to get whiplash from his mood swings. He was unpredictable. Unstable. Devolving before her eyes. She glanced back to the group of hostages. “He gets to flex that autonomy again. Oh, how lovely- he was your last call.”
“Why do you have me here, Griffin?” YN demanded, attempting to take control of the situation. If he was distracted, she could maneuver and gain the upper hand. “If you wanted to go after Bucky you would’ve done it. Why do any of this? Why do you need them?”
Griffin spared a quick glance to the group of shivering civilians. He hummed quietly, pressing dial for Bucky’s number. YN felt a drop of sweat bead down her neck. Rolling to meet the bulletproof fabric over her torso. She was alone in here, responsible for the lives of those petrified people. Staring and waiting for her to do something. Help them.
Her eyes fell to the remote in his hand. She could snatch it. The bomb was his power move. His leverage. Then again, the hostages were bargaining chips. He had to give something up. She had to remove variables.
“Let them go.” YN urged, holding her hands out in surrender. “You’ve got me, you’ve got my attention. Let them go.” He sighed dramatically, eyes rolling as he pressed the button for speakerphone.
“It’s no fun without an audience.” He whined, shrugging as he turned to the hostage group. “And to think- we were just getting to the good part. Fine! Leave, all of you.”
The group all scrambled to their feet, taking their leave before he changed his mind. The stampede rushed the door, cramming themselves out into the street. YN’s heart slowed, the adrenaline fading in her veins slightly. Her priority was taken care of- they all made it out alive.
“Hello?” YN never thought she would be nervous to hear Bucky’s voice. Casey smiled at the phone, eyes boring into her skull. “YN? Hello?”
“She can’t make it to the phone right now.” Griffin responded, giving her a mocking pout. The other end fell silent. YN could almost feel the paranoia settle over his body. “I would ask you to leave a message but I’m afraid she won’t be around much longer to hear it.”
An idea began to form, tingling at the base of her skull. YN gulped nervously. She had to keep him distracted- keep him focused on Bucky. But that also meant she had to stay focused on Casey. She couldn’t say a word to Bucky. Not yet.
“Who the fuck are you and what do you want?” Bucky hissed. YN closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She could pull her weapon. But could she pull it fast enough? Griffin could blow the place to smithereens. She could try to get the remote- every solution seemed to fall back to the same outcome. She grit her teeth- he had the upper hand. She could do nothing but wait it out.
“Joshua Rivers.” Casey replied. While his voice was smooth and unrestrained, his eyes told a different story. Seething, red hot rage burned in his veins. “Does that name ring any bells to you, Sargeant? Let me give you a hint anyways- I know how fragile the mind can be in the older years. He was a lead operative for Hydra. Four months ago, you raided his warehouse and instead of arresting him, you put a bullet through his skull.”
“He deserved more.” Bucky hissed, his voice crackling through the speaker. Echoing in the empty building. Casey scowled, his nose scrunching in anger. “That warehouse housed human experimentation projects.”
“That doesn’t matter!” Casey screamed, veins in his neck popping out against his skin. Pumping adrenaline in time with his heart. “He was a person- he had people who loved him, cared for him. You took that away from me. I can’t help but wonder… how you’ll feel about the same circumstances.”
“Where is YN?” Bucky demanded, keeping his voice level. YN began to creep her fingers up, toward the gun in her holster. She had one chance. He was distracted- she could gain the upper hand.
“Well, that’s a tricky question. It’s only a matter of time before she’s… everywhere.” Griffin shrugged, swinging his gaze back to YN. Her fingers faltered, halting at her hip. She was close, her thumb brushed the cold metal of the gun. “So now… now I think I’ll return the favor. You took something from me. The only person that ever mattered. You destroyed my world.”
“If you touch her, I swear to-“
“You don’t believe in God, Sergeant.” Griffin’s slow drawl interrupted the threat. His tongue ran over his lips, taking a deep breath. “He’s not real. If he were, don’t you believe that none of this suffering would happen?” There was a ruckus of noise on the other end of the phone, Bucky panting heavily. A door slamming. “This is your repentance, James Barnes.”
YN’s fingers wrapped around the metal plating, her nerves settling. She could make this draw. It would be fast enough. It would be accurate. She could end it once and for all. She exhaled slowly, counting down.
Three…
Two…
One…
In a flash, YN pulled her gun from her side. Aiming it at Casey’s chest and pulling the trigger. The loud gunfire echoed- ringing in her ears. Her heart sank. Stomach plummeting to her feet.
She missed.
Casey’s expression settled into one of contempt. Disappointment. The hell fire turned to her, his focus shifting from Bucky to YN. Surging toward her, his hand swung out, shoving the muzzle to the ceiling as she fired again. Casey’s fist tightened around her phone, a strong punch to her kidney sending her to her knees, wheezing for air. YN grunted, her hand swinging at a wide angle, but it was only deflected as the heel of his hand connected with her nose. Releasing a sharp cry, YN cradled her nose carefully. Eyes watering and face stinging. Bucky’s frantic shouts barely audible as she knelt, gasping in pain. Her thoughts muddled and slow.
Casey sighed dramatically, ripping the weapon from Yn’s hand. She groaned, disoriented as a fresh wave of pain throbbed from her face. Blood seeped from between her fingers, dripping down into a puddle on the tile floor.
“Say goodbye to your fiancée, Sergeant.”

Bucky all but tossed the motorcycle onto the curb as he skidded to a stop. A blazing inferno consumed the building, scorching the blackened trees that once surrounded it. The hand gripping his throat squeezed tighter as he stumbled toward the police line. Shoving his way through bystanders.
He felt sick- choking back the nausea bubbling from his stomach. Fire bellowed from the gaping, blown out glassless windows. Portions of the building were collapsed, the rest soon to follow. He barreled through shouting police officers, desperate to reach the building.
“Barnes!” He didn’t turn- even though the voice was familiar. He had to get to her- she was still alive, he knew she was. She had to be. “Barnes- man, you can’t go in there!”
Hands grasped his metallic shoulder, pulling him back roughly. Bucky grunted, swinging his arm around, taking hold of the man’s bulletproof vest. He clenched his jaw, staring down at Alex Knowles. One of her partners. Knowles’ eyes were puffy and rimmed with red. His skin was irritated, probably from wiping tears away.
“She’s still in there.” Bucky stated, without asking if she had been pulled out yet. He knew the process of these kinds of situations. The fire chief had to clear it and the area was nowhere near safe enough. But his girl was in there, in danger. Dying slowly, the longer he stood around. It had already been too long.
“Teams haven’t been sent in yet… I know you’re scared but you could make it worse if you go in there guns blazing. It could collapse the rest of the way.” Knowles warned, his eyes begging Bucky to stay put. Bucky shoved him away. Stripping off his jacket, Bucky scowled at the man.
“I will be the something worse if she’s not alive. Don’t test me, Knowles.” He growled, tying the jacket sleeves around his waist. Bucky turned on his heel, sprinting for the blown out doors of the bank. Ignoring the shouts of the firemen and police officers on the scene.
Inside, the flames locked the walls, staying maintained. It seemed the only thing the department had been doing since the explosion was clearing the fire. They had been prepared somewhat.
Bucky stumbled through the rubble, boots tripping over chunks of concrete and twisted metal. He had to find YN, she was somewhere. He had to keep himself from thinking the worst- she was alive. She would be okay. He just had to find her first.
He turned what would’ve been a corner of the bank, his heart rocketing through his chest. The beat thumping wildly.
Two bodies. Lying side by side.
“YN!” He picked his way through rubble, skidding to his knees beside her. Deep cuts laced her dirtied features, trapped under a chunk of concrete from the waist down. For now, he didn’t care of the implications that could lie beneath the rock. His trembling fingers found the pulse point in her neck, bowing his head and stifling a sharp sob as he felt a faint, slow thrum. He brushed the hair from her face gently, biting his lip to keep himself together. “Don’t worry sweetheart, I’ve got you.”
Bucky shuffled down to her waist, hooking his fingers into the rock. Just as he began lifting, a sharp gasp startled him, almost dropping the rubble. He glanced back at YN- wide awake and sobbing. Carefully, Bucky spared a glance under the concrete. A metal rod went directly through her thigh, blood seeping from the wound.
“Shit…” It had been contained until he lifted it- now she was going to bleed out. He had to move fast. “YN, doll, I’ve got you. This is gonna hurt but it’ll be okay.”
She didn’t respond, sobs ripping from her chest as he stilled. Bucky took a deep breath, collecting his nerves. He moved quickly, throwing the concrete across the room with a loud grunt. An ear piercing shriek fell from Yn’s lips, her fist pounding the ground at her side. Bucky untied his jacket, wrapping it tightly around her injured thigh.
“Okay, sweetheart. We’re gonna get out of here.” Bucky’s chest tightened as he gathered her in his arms. She was shivering, huddling close to his body as best she could. Her skin was filthy, covered in soot, dirt, and blood. “Try to talk with me, sweet girl. Stay awake.”
“Ja- James…” YN’s fingers twisted into his shirt, tears soaking into his fabric. His heart clenched. It was his fault- that idiot had gone after her because of him. He held her closer, tighter, as he picked his way back to the doors. “I… I think I’m done- done smoking.”
Bucky almost laughed, forgetting his location. The situation fading as he spared a glance down to her face. She was grimacing, lips pulled and forehead wrinkled. But here she was- trying to joke with him.
“Why’s that, doll?” He questioned, emerging from the collapsed bank. The sunlight was strong, glaring down into his eyes. He hunched slightly, trying to block the intense light from her sensitive eyes. YN groaned, tugging weakly at his shirt. “We’re almost there, doll. Keep talking. Why’re you quittin’?”
“I’ve had enough smoke for one lifetime.” She replied, eyes fluttering. Paramedics rushed toward them, a gurney wheeled to their side. Bucky carefully lay her back, grasping her hand tightly as they rushed toward the ambulance.
Bucky didn’t reply, lips pressed together. Concern running rampant as they moved. His eyes caught Knowles and Bryant’s, averting his as soon as they landed. Loading into the ambulance.
“Bucky?” He quickly stepped up, sitting down in the back. Squeezing her hand tightly. YN gave a half- hearted return. Her fingers tangling with his, eyes closed. “Stay… please…”
“I’m here, sweetheart.” Bucky smiled, hoping his face could mask the desperate panic he felt in the pit of his stomach. “I’m not goin’ anywhere.”

Salt of the Sea Ch. 3
Different
“Those humans are very interesting.” Chase said, popping the last piece of his ‘meal’ into his mouth, laying across a flat rock. The Sirens were finishing up eating at the bottom of the sea. “Something about them is...different.” He added as he chewed, licking off the last bit that was on a gray finger.
“They also agreed to the deal fairly easily.” Marvin was cleaning off Robbie’s face with a piece of seaweed both sitting on the far end of the rock. Robbie was tracing the purple markings on his tail while he waited, deciding to start doing the same to Marvin’s green ones when he got bored of his own. “I thought that Dark would have…” Marvin stopped when something clicked in his head. “JJ?” Marvin saw that JJ was sitting in the sand, staring off into the water with a smile. “JJ, did you ‘persuade’ that human to agree with us?” JJ only shrugged and giggled.
“Someone thinks that the pink human is cute~” Anti teased, swimming around JJ with a laugh.
“Do not.” JJ protested, using his hands to communicate with them.
“I mean, he’s not that bad on the eyes.” Anti laid on his side on the sand next to JJ. “Maybe I’ll find out if all of his hair is pink for ya.” Anti winked and laughed when JJ was slapping at his arm, his go-to ‘you’re embarrassing me!’ gesture.
“This is why you don’t have a mate,” Henrik muttered from his sitting spot.
“You don’t have a mate, either.” Anti looked over his shoulder and stuck his tongue out at Henrik.
“I almost had one and that’s more than you’ve ever had.” Henrik huffed.
“Go choke on a sardine.” Anti flicked his tail towards Henrik.
“Alright guppies, calm down,” Chase said, getting off the rock and swimming towards them. “We should catch up to those humans and at least learn their names.”
“I still can’t believe we owe those humans because Anti got caught,” Henrik said as everyone gathered together. “How did that even happen?”
“It’s complicated.” Anti crossed his arms.
“Did you get caught up in deciding which human you wanted to seduce before we ate? Is it that time of the moon?” Henrik said in a mocking tone.
“Go dry up!” Anti slapped Henrik with the end of his tail.
“Hey, hey, hey!” Chase swam between Henrik and Anti before a fight broke out. “Enough, both of you!” Henrik and Anti both slunked down from being scolded.
“Regardless of how it happened or why; what does matter is that we owe those humans until we get them the gold that was promised and I would like to have that done sooner rather than later,” Marvin said.
“It’s going to take a while to get to the gold.” Chase stayed where he was, not wanting to risk Henrik and Anti acting out again. “Human ships travel much slower than we do and it might take moons to get there.”
“Moons!?” Henrik groaned. “What if the gold isn’t even there anymore? What do we do then?”
“That’s something we’ll have to figure out if it happens,” Marvin said.
“We’re going on a trip?” Robbie asked, mostly confused about what was going on and only catching a few parts of the discussion.
“Yep, little guppy, we’re going on a long trip,” Chase said.
“With those humans?”
“Yep.”
“Are we gonna eat ‘em?”
“Nope.”
“We can after giving them the gold,” Henrik said.
“That’s a different conversation,” Marvin said with a chuckle.
“You’re starting to make me think it’s your time of the moon.” Anti blew a raspberry.
“I will put you in time-out.” Chase threatened, that being enough to get Anti to curl up in a pout. “You too.” He added to Henrik before he could fully start his laugh.
“Let’s go see if the humans are lost already.” Marvin swam off first, Robbie and JJ both immediately following.
“Can I trust you two to behave?” Chase asked.
“Yes.” Henrik and Anti said together.
“Good. I love you, guppies.” Chase pinched at Henrik’s and Anti’s cheeks, getting groans of protest. Chase chuckled and the three quickly caught up to the other half.
It didn’t take long for them to find the ship and saw that it was heading in the correct direction. They popped out from the water, except for Anti, who launched himself up and cupped his hands around his mouth.
“We’re back!” He shouted.
“They’re back.” Wilford chuckled while Dark just grunted and stepped away.
“Google, ask them about how long it till take to get to the gold.” Dark started giving off orders. “Bing, see how far the nearest market is. CJ, RJ, check the nets and don’t catch a Siren again.”
“On it!” RJ and CJ both saluted before taking off while Bing and Google just went straight to following their order.
“Don’t throw me overboard for asking, but why are we working with Sirens?” Bim asked.
“I’m not exactly sure why I agreed to this, something told me I needed to,” Dark said, seeing the shock in Bim’s face at his honesty. “And now that I have made this choice, we are going through with this. Hopefully, the Sirens lead up to enough gold for us to be able to stay docked for a while.”
“It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to stay more than a few days before funds ran out.” Bim rubbed his arm and sighed.
“At least we will have an excuse to stop by the town, regardless if we get to the gold before or after.” Dark saw that Google was making his way back to him. “You and Yandere go rest, I’m going to have you two take the first night-watch.”
“Yes, Captain.” Bim nodded and walked away.
“What’s the plan?” Dark asked Google.
“They said it’ll most likely take a few moons to get to the gold,” Google said.
“Moons?”
“I’m assuming they mean months, it makes sense that their time system is different than ours.” Google shrugged.
“It’s going to take months to get to the gold?” Dark huffed. “This better be worth it.”
“They say it’s a straight shot from where we are, I can adjust our route so we can hit several market places along the way. It will make the trip a little longer but I don’t think we’ll be able to make it without doing so.”
“I trust you to make the right choices,” Dark stated. “Have the general outline of the route done before we head in for the night. I have Yandere and Bim resting now so it’s preferred to do it right after they wake.”
“Yes, Captain.” Google walked away as well, leaving Dark to stand alone.
Dark saw that Wilford was at the edge of the ship, sitting on the ledge and clearly talking to the Sirens, most likely to the one that was called ‘JJ’. Dark didn’t understand Wilford’s sudden fascination with the Sirens. His scars must no longer bother him.
He shook his head at that thought. That was a little cruel, even for him.
Perhaps this was Wilford’s way of trying to cope, to find a way to get over what had happened. Perhaps Dark should try the same, but he didn’t want to.
At least not yet.

Egotober Day 11: Who is the Strongest in the Land?

Prompt: Strong
Summary: There’s a bit of a debate in the Coalition. Who is the strongest? Silver’s superpower? Bob’s shields. Or Robbie’s magically infused muscles?
A/N: So, guess who saw the new Sanders Asides and already wants to make content? Me! Unfortunately for the plot I will have to wait until I can include the new pairing in so heads up on that.

For years there had been a question between the heroes.
Who was the strongest hero? Unlike with Jackie’s speed, Roman’s imagination-based powers, or the fact that Logan was unbeatable in trivia pursuit games; the “strong” category had no clear first place winner.
If you asked anyone in the city there was only one name they gave: Silver. Mostly because he was able to lift cars and similarly heavy objects throw them an eyebrow-raising distance away.
Ask certain heroes like Joan and Logan or even King who were a bit more literal about the powers around them, and they gave a different answer: Bob.
Logan’s reasoning was simple: the veteran hero had impenetrable barriers. Blunt force objects, explosives, magical attacks, Dark’s aura, even Silver using his strength to rocket him across the fight like a huge pinball wasn’t enough to even crack the barrier. The only thing stopping the barrier was Bob’s stamina in maintaining said barrier.
Of course Marvin was one of the only people with a third opinion: Robbie. Before his zombification, for lack of a better term, Robbie had never really had a superpower. He had only some good sense — something interestingly hard to come by in the group — and he was a touch hardier than the average teenager. But after Marvin had been using more and more spells to reverse the after effects of his slight decomposition, the result was Herculean strength and more human mannerisms.
Today one debate turned into another and once again Bob and Mark were going to settle the age old debate, and before anyone knew it most of the heroes were standing in the garage and Logan was helping to rig several sensors to take measurements of how hard Silver was punching and how hard Bob or his barriers were getting hit.
Henrik was of course naturally fretting around Robbie, fully objecting to Marvin using the young man to settle the debate.
“Nein! You vill do no such zing!” Henrik argued.
“Relax,” Iplier tapped him with the back of his hand, “J.J you’d tell us if anything happened right?”
J.J nodded and signed a quick “yes” but was conspicuously not making his way to the betting pool to place a bet of his own. It kept Iplier from making his own since neither the time traveler nor the seer were making bets, they were sitting on either side of him, watching.
“Do you guys know who to bet on?” Dr. Iplier asked them.
“Of course the Host knows who will win,” the seer grinned between his narrations.
J.J gave a sign that the Host did his best to translate, “No bet on first attempt,” J.J warned him.
“I’ll ask you next time then,” Iplier joked, smiling. “We’ll make bank on it.”
Then the Host pulled a jar out that had two five dollar bills in it, a tapped note in Iplier’s handwriting read on the front: “TIE”. Each of the notes had a rolled up piece of paper that had the name of the person who had placed the bet and how much they placed. There was a huge grin on his face, “The Host suggests Iplier go and place his bet on the table.”
J.J shrugged and slipped a five into Iplier’s hand, his name tag wrapped around it. Thankfully the bulk of the group was too busy arguing to notice what was obviously the Host’s bet going up. But Virgil who was close by saw that Iplier was trying to sneak the jar up. Iplier then snuck back and Virgil carefully slipped his bet from Bob’s jar, which he had only chosen because Logan had placed a bet there, to the Tie jar. Then he went back to sitting a safe distance away. “A safe distance” that would eventually turn into sitting next to Iplier.
“Fuck ‘em up Robbie!” Ethan cheered from where he was standing.
Robbie gave a huge, warm smile.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on my team?” Mark chuckled, giving his former apprentice a fake-offended gasp.
Ethan just laughed, his contagious giggling undercutting any actual vitriol that could have been in the words, “No, hahahah! Fuck you.”
Bob laughed, “Ooooh! He got you good!”
Mark rolled his eyes and lightly pushed him, “Come on, let’s go.”
Roman cleared his throat, he was in a huge puffy tutu that was white and red with glitter dusting it. He was in a tight red and white leotard with golden accents to it that were reminiscent of his usual outfit, along with a pair of white footed pants. “Well let’s begin, my bet won’t win itself.”
“Your wager was placed by bribery with cookies, compounding your already unsound logic,” Logan reminded him.
“Oh hush, nerdy Wolverine,” Roman ordered, and held an arm up. “Okay, Round 1: Silver Shepherd v. Gatling, to the victor go . . . the victory.”
“Smooth, Princey,” Virgil snickered.
Roman stuck out his tongue at Virgil and the anxious Side just snickered and rolled his eyes. “Well we have other rounds.”
The creative Side cleared his throat before announcing, “Ready. Set. Go!”
Roman brought his hand down as he said that last word. Mark shot off at full speed, too fast for most of the heroes to follow with their own eyes.
Bob brought up a barrier in time and the air around the other heroes popped most of their ears. Virgil whimpered in pain a bit and scooted over to get closer to Iplier.
Silver repeatedly flew around to get spread. The barriers never broke and Silver kept up the onslaught for another couple minutes before the wear and strain started to show on Bob’s face.
Usually in an actual fight the other heroes would have picked up the slack so Bob could hunker into his barriers and get a breather to grab his second wind. But this wasn’t a normal fight, it was a duel and the fight started to wear down on him.
The instant Silver saw it, he started taunting his friend. “What’s the matter, getting tired there?”
“How about you shut up, asshole!” Bob shouted and as Silver was racing forward again, he extended out the barrier and Silver wasn’t as braced as he should have been and slammed into it face-first, breaking his nose.
The barrier extended out, taxing more of Bob’s strength than he expected. The shield flickered and Silver noticed it immediately and struck, slamming into the barrier again and Bob’s concentration slipped, the barrier flickered again just long enough for Silver to speed through and knock Bob to the ground, pinning him in place.
Mark had a huge, smug smile on his face, “Hah! I win.”
Bob groaned, “Fuck!”
“Inconclusive,” Logan huffed. “The barriers were never broken.”
“But he was defeated all the same,” Host announced. “The Host doubts that Silver’s current opponent could get back on his feet to fight Silver so soon.”
“You didn’t even make a bet,” Mark shouted at him, catching his breath a little.
But at the Host’s huge smile, Silver looked back at Jackie who was now by the table, “Hey, what was his bet, cause that smile says he made one.”
“I dunno,” Jackie shrugged, “I stepped away to grab a coffee.”
“The Host was secretive about his bet because only five people would have voted against him,” the Host said.
“Of course we wouldn’t have,” Ethan agreed loudly. “You know what’s gonna happen.”
“But where would the Host get his entertainment from?” The Host smiled, trying to sound hurt but it didn’t work at all.
“You asshole,” Bob smiled. “Kay, Silv, you win.”
“Hey! That’s my job!” Roman reminded indignantly.
“Wooooo! Yeah, I’m the best, fucking suck it!” Mark shouted at Bob, talking right over Roman which made the Side even angrier, floating off the ground for a bit.
Bob shoved him a bit, sending him farther than if Mark had been standing like a normal person. “Ugh, you are the worst sometimes.”
Then Bob stepped aside and Robbie came to stand opposite Silver. And here was where Mark made his first mistake. He looked at Robbie, at the former apprentice he had helped train, and tried to figure out how to beat Robbie without hurting him.
Roman announced how, and Silver moved first. He flew towards Robbie but instead of knocking him over, the young man grabbed him by the arm and used Silver’s momentum to toss him to the side and make him slammed into the wall behind the zombie.
Henrik and Marvin dove out of the way, and Mark stared at Robbie with surprise.
“Yeah, get ‘im,” Marvin cheered after a moment’s shock.
“Alright, fine then,” Mark huffed out, deciding that he could afford to be a little rougher with him. Much to Henrik’s mounting horror, Mark began to try with more effort to pin Robbie down, but Mark’s earlier round with Bob and the fact that he’d been wasting time going easy on him for the first half of the fight.
So when Mark came flying towards him, trying to get around the back to pin Robbie down but the ensuing struggle looked more like a wrestling match and ended with Robbie kinda hugging Mark’s arms to his side and the superhero just floating in the air looking like a piece of board.
“Heya,” Bob smiled at Mark, “having fun there, buddy?”
“Shut up,” Silver tried to wiggle free but Robbie just hugged him harder, a smile on his face.
After about a solid minute, he let out a frustrated growl and just floated there in an angry huff. “How? Marvin what have you done to this guy?”
“That sounds like he gave up,” Marvin grinned, looking at Logan who looked thoroughly upset and put out. “Victory right?”
“No!” Silver called, struggling a bit more. “I’m not giving up.”
Then he admitted, “Yeah . . . fine.”
“Robbie win?” Robbie smiled at Marvin.
“Sure did kid,” Marvin cheered.
“Yay!” Robbie let go of Mark and he just floated there for a bit, pouting a little.
He did float out of range so Bob, hopped up on an energy drink and getting a little bit of a rest, could take his place. He smiled as he put out a little bit of a barrier. Bob was bracing for a hard hit like he usually was with Silver but when Roman called “Go” and Robbie slammed his shoulder against the barrier, Bob barely felt it.
Bob was used to faster heroes, and having a tanky type of fighting style, by necessity with his powers, he was unused to defending against that.
But Robbie wasn’t a fast fighter, strong? Absolutely. However he wasn’t even half as fast as Mark and Bob just rested his elbow against the barrier and leaned against it. It had been a hot minute since he’d fought someone he had enough time to rest with.
Mark and Wade were the first ones to realize what was going on.
“Well shit,” Wade said. “He’s not getting through that.”
“He could!” Marvin promised defiantly.
Wade gave Marvin a look, “You know he’s not.”
“Come on, he hits hard enough to do more than that,” Mark defended, if only to salvage his own wounded pride.
“Oh yeah, I feel something,” Bob agreed. “It’s just not fast enough.”
“He was going faster against Silver,” Marvin cut in. “I call a do over.”
“No! No! If I got tired after Gatling,” Mark called out, “that counts.”
“But that means it’s a tie,” Bob spoke up. “We can’t have a tie.”
“But oh yes, the heroes can,” the Host smiled.
“Yah weren’t e’en bettin’!” Marvin shouted at them.
“But yet the Host always wins,” the Host smiled, J.J smiled as well.
“So do we win?” Virgil asked hesitantly.
“Hey,” Logan turned to Virgil, “you placed a bet at the same time has me for Bob.”
“I changed it,” Virgil whispered, already pulling his hoodie up a bit higher.
“You changed your vote because you were aware of a more likely outcome,” Logan realized. “I applaud your insight.”
Virgil smiled a bit and the winnings were distributed amongst the four winners, J.J leaving this timeline as it was. Logan, Bob, Marvin, and Mark continued to debate between each other who would have won in an “actual fight” after the Host used his voice to bring in a bunch of donuts to distract the heroes from the fact that he had basically got away with the bulk of the winnings . . . again.

Stumbling out of the bar...hands everywhere. Lips on tongues...sucking slow...sliding down jawlines and desperately trying to rid clothes from the other's body. Shannon had his shirt untucked from his jeans and was clawing at his back. He hissed. She smiled around his lips. "Sorry, Tiger."
"Don't worry I'm gonna get my payback..." He hoisted her up so that her legs were straddled around his hips. He couldn't formulate too many thoughts or words as he was drunk on alcohol and her intoxicating smell. He breathed her deep.
"Babe...it's been too long since last time..."
"When was that actually?" She laughed and threw her head back giving him a good look at her cleavage which he immediately delved into. She gasped.
Earlier...
They were back in their seats after the dance. Holding hands and looking into each other's eyes.
"So...that was interesting..."
"Yeah...go figure."
"Didn't think you could still move like that."
"I'm not that old."
She didn't respond.
"Really! I'm not that old!"
"Ok..Ok Johnny! You don't have to convince me."
Johnny was already staring morosely at his refreshed drink. Shannon sighed.
"It's always about that isn't it?"
“It's why you left me..."
"Uh...I left you because you were a deadbeat loser...but that's beside the point."
"Keep insulting me, Shannon...it really brings out the 'bitch' in your eyes."
"Here we go..." Her face took on it's usual spoiling for a fight and Johnny could swear he saw her claws extend.
"Look...I'm not gonna start this up tonight...but it's clear that we can't even get through an evening without rehashing the past. "
"You started it!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!!"
"It doesn't matter...I can see where this is going...It's been real." Johnny got up and tossed some bills on the table.
Shannon sat there...staring at the bills. This was not how she intended this evening to go at all. It was the first time she'd been out in weeks. She had promised Robby that she would start staying home more...but it wasn't working...Robby was seeing how miserable she was every day..and he knew that she needed to get out and be free for a while. It was just who she was. He wanted to see his mom happy more than trapped and depressed. He told her that she could go out that night and have a good time. She was visibly ecstatic. 'OH THANKS BABY!! Are you sure you're going to be ok with this?! ' 'Sure...mom. I'm needing a break from you anyway.' He said giving his little dimpled smirk. She kissed him repeatedly with her red lipstick covering him in kiss marks.
She was intrigued by the mystery man on the dating app and thought...why not...a night of 'getting wild' was just what the doctor ordered.
It turned out to be...Johnny Lawrence and she could have sworn that Robby did this to her on purpose some way. He seemed way to eager to get her to go on this one. Even still she thought she could make the best out of the situation.
She had decided to forget who he was and just enjoy herself. But the past had a real way of rearing its ugliness and making her remember just how much they should never mix the fire and gasoline...which was their relationship.
"FINE! Just GO! You fucked up my night like you FUCKED up everything else...Johnny!" She couldn't keep the sob from tinging the end of her words.
She hadn't intended to show weakness or start crying...but she was frustrated...didn't have a ride home and didn't have any chance of getting her boots knocked.
Johnny turned around at the sound of the wounded edge to her voice. He hated seeing her vulnerable. She was always supposed to be the tough bad bitch that gave as good as she got. When she cried or even remotely had an emotion leaning that way it broke him. It always did...she had that power over him.
"Shan..."
"Don't Johnny...just go."
"No...I'm not gonna do that..." He said coming closer to her. She looked up at him with tears swimming. He already felt like an ass for being a dick for leaving her sitting there. That wasn't very gentleman like. He looked down at her and his breath caught. It could have been the alcohol...but he saw her just as she was the day he met her. In a similar place...and how they couldn't keep their hands off of each other. He brushed a tear away and let his thumb linger on her cheek. She instinctively leaned into it.
“Do you have a ride home?”

"Don't tell me you STILL have this old thing" Shannon said between kisses as Johnny shuffled with her to the door. He set her down and began fumbling with the belt on her jeans. She put her leg around him pushing herself closer to the stiffness growing in his own jeans.
"You better not be talking about what you got your hand on now, Babe..."
Johnny growled at her as she boldly put her hand down his pants right on his hardness, through his boxers and stroked it a few times. "Shit..."
They each vied for position, fumbling with their clothes and the door handle. Shannon clawed Johnny's back with her long lacquered nails and he winced at the sensation, not feeling a woman's nails digging in, in quite a while. He bit the pulse in her neck until she gasped and buried her hands back deep in his hair.
"We're not going to fuck in the parking lot." Johnny panted kissing a trail to the valley of her breasts.
"I've done worse." She moaned as his mouth found her nipple in her bra-less blouse. He tugged and hummed around it.
"I don't wanna know what dumpster fire you recently crawled out of."
"You're a riot...keep that up and I won't give you a chance to figure it out for yourself." She purred and brought both hands down to squeeze his ass in his tight jeans.
Johnny finally wrenched the door of his Firebird open and after a few more moments of trying to maneuver Shannon into the seat, blindly and then almost gave up altogether as she hopped around his waist, her legs wrapped securely around his middle.
"Shan...we're not going to make it back to your place...We are going to your place right?"
"Yeah...*breathes* I think Robby's out with friends tonight." She said not really caring where he was at the moment. Johnny was doing that 'thing' he always did. She missed his tried and true moves on her. They still had an affect after all of these years.
"Johnnnnny...don't stop!" She moaned as his hand moved up her thigh getting closer to his intended prize.
Johnny's head was spinning. Alcohol and her body. He had no idea how they were going to get there...but he was gonna get there...and to do that he had to detach and drive.
"Get in, Princess and sit still...it won't do us any good getting wrapped around a telephone pole." ----- Later
Robby came home late...very late...way past the early hours of the morning late. He didn't think he had much to worry about. He knew his mother probably wasn't home and he probably wouldn't see her until she wobbled her way in sometime later in the afternoon. He sighed and shook his head. He just wanted to throw himself on the couch and come down off of his own self-medicated high. He didn't take so much that he'd be unconscious soon...but it was just a nice way to end the night staring into the nothingness of the ceiling tiles and thinking about random things and finding everything funny. Heck he even thought he heard voices coming from the other room if he thought about it long enough he could even begin to make out what the were saying.
“You’re the only one I wanna wake up next to.”
"God...you're such a sentimental asshole!"
"Shut up and get on your knees...I'm ready to do this...again. *growls*"
"Oh...hell yeah...where have you been hiding all this energy, Tiger?"
"You're gonna find out...Shit...you are so hot ohhh yeah.....Fuck....right there...."
Robby tried not to zone in on the words...but caught a few and more the sound of the voices....and his eyes went from glassy to focused.
His mother's he recognized...and he tried to shake the sounds of her moans and sighs out of his brain...if he wasn't high he'd realized he'd be scarred for life. He did NOT want to know what his mom did in the bedroom...but the other voice. Robby cocked his head to the side. Familiar tones and patterns. Words and grunts.
"Call me Daddy!!"
"Yes...YES...Daddy!!"
Robby went shock white as a sheet. No...NO....it couldn't be. It wasn't!! He put his headphones on. He turned the music up as loud as it would go. He drowned out the noise but he could still hear it...faint...was it inside or outside of his head?
Johnny came out of the bedroom and nearly crashed into the dining table in the dark. "Fuck..." He swore softly. He didn't know his way around the small apartment well. He had one of Shannon's bed sheets wrapped and tied around him like a toga. His hair was a mess. Sticking up at all angles and matted to his face in some places.
His lopsided grin as he thought back to how he'd left her...sprawled and snoring in the middle of the mattress. He needed water. He needed something to drink.
It had a been a very long time since he'd been this muscle-relaxingly worn out. His tension was gone and he just felt good for the moment. He actually hummed a few bars of "Keep On Loving You." As he made his way to the kitchen.
A disheveled head of hair popped up over the side of the couch. Johnny had just grabbed some orange juice out of the mostly empty fridge and was making his way back to the bedroom when he stopped dead in his tracks. A pair of green eyes leveled a piercing frown at him and Johnny swallowed hard.
He nodded at Johnny.
Johnny nodded at him.
Robby slowly lowered his head back down to the couch without taking his eyes off of Johnny.
Johnny quietly went back to the bedroom and shut the door.
"So...did you find what you were looking for, Loverboy?"
"Uh...not exactly. Houston...we have a problem."

“Richard, you’re going to be a daddy again.”
Richard sat up quickly. The expression on his face immediately bothering you.
“You’re pregnant?”
You nodded, as Richard put a hand over his face. This was not at all what you were expecting! When you first got pregnant with Charlee he was overjoyed. Now he looked anything but thrilled.
“Richard, say something.”
You pleaded, not moving to get closer. Richard finally looked up with a sigh.
“Damn it.”
“Not the response I was looking for.”
You replied as your heart sank. This behavior wasn’t like Richard at all!
“What happened to the pills you were taking?”
He asked, looking dead ahead. You shrugged.
“I missed a few. With Mackenzie getting sick and all of that mess that went on in Napa Valley…I just spaced.”
Richard’s mouth fell open as he finally turned to look at you.
“What?! Y/n, Jesus Christ! That is so irresponsible!”
You looked equally as shocked by Richard’s less than loving comment. For a moment, you didn’t know what to say. This sounded like something your father would say, not Richard!
“Really, Rich? I had so much on me! Are you really saying all of this?! It isn’t like I got myself pregnant.”
Richard stood, beginning to pace around the room. If he had stopped his mental breakdown he would have noticed the tears in your eyes.
“We agreed to only Charlee. I am too old for this.”
You stood at this point.
“Funny, you were more than happy to knock me up before. Was that to keep me with you instead of going to find someone else? Is that what it was, Richard?”
Richard froze at that. He turned looking at you with wide furious eyes.
“God damn it, Y/n! That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard come out of you!”
“Now I’m stupid?”
Richard shrugged.
“This conversation is stupid.”
You trembled and tried to keep your anger in check.
“You’re being a jerk.”
Richard again shrugged. He was internally thinking if the shoe fit.
“I have every reason to be. I don’t have the time to make sure you act like an adult, Y/n. You need a fucking hysterectomy.”
You glared at your fiance a moment longer before starting to the door.
“That’s it! I’m done! I am going home to my mother.”
Richard sat back down on the bed, thinking this was just a bluff.
“You do that. Tell Mark and Tracy what a bad fiance I am while you are at it.”
You stared at him a moment longer before storming out of the room.
Sitting by himself, Richard immediately felt awful for all of the horrible things that he had said to you moments ago. You didn’t deserve any of that mess. Upon hearing you talking to Charlee about going to see grandma and grandpa he jumped up and walked into the nursery. You stood putting some baby clothes into a bag.
“Y/n, wait.”
You didn’t look up as you took Charlee out of the crib.
“I’m done Richard.”
“Sugar…”
Richard’s voice was getting more pleading with every passing second when he realized that you weren’t kidding.
“Don’t sugar me. You had your chance and ruined it.”
“So you are taking our baby and leaving? Your pregnant and just leaving me?”
You nodded.
“You’re catching on fast. Don’t try me, Richard. Those crocodile tears of yours aren’t getting you anywhere now”
Richard didn’t move. He didn’t know what to say. All he could do was watch your furious face as you moved around the room with Charlee in your arms. The poor baby looked beyond confused with everything that was going on. What was he supposed to say? What was he supposed to do? Richard knew all of this was his fault. If he had stayed calm and actually listened to you this wouldn’t be happening.
“You can come to see Charlee whenever you want.”
You said softly as you put the engagement ring back in Richard’s trembling hand. Richard reached out wrapping his hand around your wrist.
“Please, I am begging you. Don’t do this.”
“You did it. Now let me go.”
You said coldly. Richard regretfully let go of your hand before you turned and walked away without another word.
20 minutes later….
You stood on your parent's doorstep before taking out your key and walking in. Mark sat watching himself on Supernatural. You smirked at the expression on your father’s face until he turned.
“Hey princess and mini princess! Wait, why do you have bags?”
You sighed.
“I left Richard.”
Mark turned off the TV looking beyond confused.
“What?! Y/n what is going on?”
Tracy had wandered into the room hearing the conversation from the kitchen.
“Y/n, what happened?”
You shrugged as you put Charlee into her your arms.
“Long story….so first off I’m pregnant. Richard flipped the fuck out on me. We had some words. I forgot to take my birth control pills when I was in Napa Valley and Richard got me pregnant. When I told Richard he was just so cold about it….I don’t even know what to say. We both said things we probably didn’t mean.”
Mark was still looking beyond confused.
“So is this permanent?”
You shrugged.
“I don’t know dad. Right now I don’t want to think about him. I have two kids that I am going to have to worry about.”
Mark stood to put Charlee in her pack and play.
“I’m going to talk to him.”
You shook your head.
“No dad. Let him be. If he doesn’t want anything to do with the baby then oh well. I’ll be fine.”
Mark shook his head.
“I won’t be.”
Tracy looked at Mark with a soothing smile.
“All right. Let’s all just calm down. Feelings are really raw right now and any talking isn’t going to be done on a level head. Y/n, come on sweetie, let's go get you settled.”
Tracy turned going up the stairs. Mark meanwhile walked over to you, kissing the top of your head.
“It will be okay.”
The following weeks were some of the most stressful of your life! You were making no motion to take Richard back or going home. Richard had come almost every day to see Charlee and to try to talk some sense into you. That, however, was going nowhere! When he tried to talk to you about anything other then Charlee you would just block him out.
Richard meanwhile, was mentally cursing himself out every day over the mess that was going on. He should have chosen his words a little better that day. If he hadn’t lost his shit then you would be home. You didn’t deserve anything that he had said to you. You weren’t stupid because you forgot to take some damn pills. There was too much on you! You didn’t need your fiance, who was supposed to be your safe place, going off because you were giving him another child.
Sitting in the living room, Richard didn’t want to get up when he heard the doorbell ring. He hadn’t slept in days. Every-time he tried to sleep he was having dreams about you. Sleeping in the bed wasn’t happening! He couldn’t handle smelling your perfume. Knowing that you weren't lying there beside him was the most lonely feeling imaginable. He couldn’t just reach over and pull you into his arms. Richard had never missed someone so badly in his life!
When the doorbell rang again Richard groaned and walked to the door. Rob stood on the other side looking like someone had stolen his ice cream.
“Are you on drugs or something?!!!”
Was the first thing that Rob squealed. Richard raised an eyebrow.
“You would think so.”
Rob groaned walking in. He rubbed his hands over his face before looking back to Richard. The guy looked like he had the ever loving shit beat out of him.
“You seriously said those things to Y/n? Are you high? Richard what were you thinking?!”
Richard shrugged.
“I’m an idiot.”
Rob sighed again.
“You don’t want me to answer that! Have you tried to talk to her? Are you okay?”
Richard shrugged, sitting back down on the couch.
“What you see is what you get, Robbie. I have tried to talk to her several times and she won’t listen. She will only talk to me if it's about Charlee.”
Rob walked over sitting down. He felt bad for just going off on Richard like that but he couldn’t help it. When Mark told him what happened Rob just went nuts.
“How is Charlee?”
Rob asked softly. Richard looked if possible even more depressed.
“She thinks it's Christmas because Mark and Tracy are doing anything she wants. If she wants something she gets it. Charlee may be little but she knows something isn’t right. When I went to see her last night she cried when I left.”
Rob sat quietly for a moment deciding if he needed to be sympathetic or give some tough love. After sitting quietly for a moment he decided to go with the latter.
“Look Rich, you kinda brought this on yourself. You have been so in love with Y/n from the moment you saw her. You have to find some way to fix this. Do you really want your kids going between two houses and calling another man dad?”
Richard glared at Rob.
“Fuck no!”
Rob leaned back on the couch with a sigh.
“Then you really need to fix this!”
“I’M TRYING ROB!”
Richard all but yelled. The two sat in silence for a few moments. Richard looked down at his pocket that held your engagement ring.
“We’ll be fine.”
Rob looked over at him again. This time looking not so believing.
“Rich, you might want to wake up. Y/n won't wait forever. You are a miserable bastard without her. If you don’t do something you will regret this for the rest of your life.”
After trying to get through to Richard for an hour Rob decided to go talk to you. Maybe one of them would have some common sense. You smiled when she saw him.
“Rob, hi! Come in!”
Rob followed you into Mark and Tracy’s house. He had been there numerous times before so this wasn’t some new thing. Rob smiled when he saw Charlee watching TV. He walked over picking the baby up kissing her head.
“Robbie, TV.”
Charlee said with a grin. Rob glanced over at you.
“Her talking is really taking off.”
You nodded.
“She is saying a lot.”
Rob put Charlee back down and followed you into the kitchen.
“Want some coffee?”
You asked. Rob nodded as he looked his friend over. You didn’t look pregnant yet. Granted when you were congregant with Charlee, you didn’t look pregnant for a long time.
“So how are you feeling?”
Rob asked softly. You turned with a smile.
“I’m okay. Did Richard send you to check on me?”
Rob shook his head before sighing.
“No...well kinda but I mostly came on my own.”
You scoffed as you put the coffee cup in front of Rob and sat down across the table.
“I figured.”
Rob sat quietly for a moment as he plotted his conversation pieces.
“Y/n, he’s feeling shitty.”
You crossed your arms over your chest. You had a feeling when Rob came back from seeing his family that Richard would talk him into coming to see you.
“He should. Richard has never treated me that badly.”
Rob had to agree. In all the years that he had known Richard this kind of behavior was never on the radar.
“I think you leaving was a good kick in the balls. I’m not making excuses for him but he feels awful. Y/n, you’re pregnant and the kids need their dad too.”
You raised an eyebrow. Again Rob got the message that he was preaching to a deaf choir. He couldn’t help but think how perfect Richard and yourself were for each other.
“He needs to grow up.”
Rob rubbed his hand over his face.
“Uh yeah.”
You sighed before reaching out and squeezing Rob’s hand.
“Rob, you shouldn’t have to come here and make excuses because you are his friend.”
Rob looked up with sad eyes.
“I’m your friend too. Y/n, if you won’t let Richard take care of you then let me.”
You stood, with a gentle smile on your face.
“Robbie, no. I am fine. I’m pregnant that is it. I am not that delicate that I need someone making a fuss over me. If things work out with Richard they will.”
A few mornings later you sat at the doctor's office. You checked your watch periodically. Richard was supposed to be there and was nowhere to be found. You had called him the night before to remind her of the appointment if he even wanted to come.
You looked up when Richard stepped into the office looking a tad annoyed. You had to stop herself from staring at him too much. From the previous time that you had seen him, he had apparently shaved all of his beard off and was looking like he did as Gabriel again. He looked like he did when the two of you first got together. You swallowed trying to fight any feelings of love that you were feeling. After a moment, you knew it was no use. You were still so in love with Richard that it was pathetic.
“Sorry I’m late. Traffic was bad.”
Richard said softly as he sat down. You nodded, again fighting the urge to just pounce on him.
“Have I missed anything?”
Richard asked. You shook your head.
“A lot of paperwork if that counts for anything. Nothing exciting. You would think they would still have all of the information they had when Charlee was born. “
Richard was quiet for a few moments as he looked at you carefully. You looked paler than normal. It also looked like you hadn't been sleeping much either.
“Do you need me to do anything?”
You smiled polity but was thinking internally
“You could fuck my brains out.”
You squeezed your thighs together trying to fight off the pregnancy hormones that was driving you nuts. There were many days when you were pregnant with Charlee that you would drag Richard by his shirt to the bedroom.
“Everything is fine, Rich.”
You didn’t see Richard’s eyes darken as he looked at you carefully.
“I don’t know about that.”
“Rich, no.”
You said hoping to stop any continuation of the conversation that was pending.
“How are you feeling?”
He asked softly.
“Just peachy.”
Richard sighed.
“Y/n, I am trying here. This is our kids….us...everything that we both hold dear. Sweetheart, I am really sorry. You didn’t deserve any of that crap I threw your way. What will it take to get you and Charlee home? The house is too quiet without you both.”
You had looked away. Richard had the sinking feeling that you were close to tears.
“I don’t know, Richard.”
Richard sighed, leaning his head back. They sat in silence for a few moments until he was positive you had regained your composure.
“How is Charlee today?”
You smiled finally.
“She’s good. Dad got her a mini horse.”
Richard frowned.
“Huh?”
You laughed at the look of displeasure on his handsome face.
“You know a mini horse. He took her to the petting zoo and apparently she fell in love with one of them. He said every little girl needs a pony. Funny I never got a pony. I just had a goldfish.”
Richard shook his head.
“Christ. How can this go wrong? Wait a minute, baby do you want a mini horse?”
You shook your head looking amused.
“Not now. When I was 5 maybe. That is the last thing I need.”
Richard shrugged.
“Can’t blame me for trying.”
Before you could respond a nurse stepped out calling her name. Richard stood following you back into the exam room. He had to think of a way to charm you back. He made you smile so that was a good place to start.
You sat quietly waiting for the doctor to come in. The two of you had been mostly silent since they had came into the room. You thought about the last time they were here verses this time. The last time they were here was a week before Charlee decided to come early. The feelings were so different versus what they had now. Both of you were so happy. This time, however, here you were both in different worlds and those worlds were so far apart.
When the doctor came in, she was cheerful just like she was the last time.
“Ms. Pellegrino, back so soon?”
You smiled sadly. You could see Richard from the corner of your eye. He looked miserable. You could swear he was going to cry.
“Yeah, here we are.”
You said with a “I’m acting happy” voice. The doctor put down her laptop and turning to the ultrasound machine.
“Well lay back for me dear so we can see how far you are.”
You lay back dreading what was about to come. You should have been happy about the baby on the way. Richard’s hand wrapping around yours, pulled you from your thoughts. You looked over to him and this time your eyes didn’t look away. His amber eyes didn’t leave yours. If the doctor didn’t stop talking he was planning on reaching out to cup your face.
“Okay, it looks like you are around 2 ½ months. “
Richard blocked out most of the doctor’s following comments. He was too busy staring at the ultrasound. It wasn’t until you said his name did he look up.
“It’s time to go”
You said softly. Richard nodded standing up and followed you out to the parking lot.
“Will you be by to see Charlee today?”
Richard nodded.
‘Of course...Y/n wait!”
You turned. Again those pesky pregnancy hormones were back. You wouldn’t fight him off if he wanted to kiss you.
“Yes?”
You replied.
“Is there any way you could come by the house later tonight so we can talk about all of this…alone?”
You bit down on your bottom lip.
“Yeah, I think that would be a good idea. I’m going to have lunch with Misha and Vickie. I can come by after that if you want. It may be about 3 hours from now.”
Richard nodded.
“See you then.”

On A Hunting Trip: Chap. 4 - The Mark

Summary: Seeing Dean for the first time has Sam in a tailspin. After some harsh words, Dean leaves once again. Sam and (Y/N) rush to Dean before he makes a rash decision. Sam could not believe the man in front of him was his brother. Dean had dark circles around his olive eyes. His skin was ghostly white, and his body was rigid. “Dean, is that really you?” He asked.
“Hiya Sammy, it’s been a long time.” Dean’s voice sounded remorseful as he spoke.
(Y/N) came out of the bathroom and he watched as Dean narrowed his eyes down on her. A small gasp escaped her lips as he slowly approached the bathroom doorway. She went to speak but he held his hand up as he looked down at their friend lying lifeless in the tub.
“I told you to leave it be, but you couldn’t. Now look,” Dean said pointing to their friend, “Charlie’s dead now and it’s all your fault.”
Sam stood back as he watched (Y/N) grasp Dean’s arm, “We want to help you. We love you, Dean. Charlie loved you and wanted to help you. Please we are so close to a cure.”
When Dean turned towards her Sam was taken back by the anger on his face. “Look what it got Charlie. She’s dead, (Y/N)!”
She winced taking a step back as Dean’s attention went to him, “Sammy, I’m sorry you were pulled back into this. She should have never come to get you. You should go back to your life and live it to the fullest.”
The sadness in his voice caught Sam by surprise. “Dean, I’m here because you obviously need help. I would do anything for you, you’re my brother and I love you.”
“If you want to help then you can help me get Charlie out of this dump and build a pyre.” Dean said walking into the bathroom pass (Y/N) without looking at her.
The three of them built a pyre in silence. Dean placed the woman’s body in the middle before setting it a blaze. They stood there watching the fire when Sam noticed (Y/N) try to take a hold of Dean’s hand as he snatched it away from her.
“Don’t. Just don’t.” He said no emotion in his tone.
(Y/N) sighed, “Dean, she wouldn’t want you to be like this. Charlie…”
“Shut up. Charlie is dead, and it is entirely your fault. It should be you in that fire and not her.” Sam was stunned by his brother’s words and watched as Dean narrowed his eyes down on her. “End it, now. Don’t come looking for me.”
Dean walked away from the both of them without another word. They heard Baby roar to life and take off on the gravel road. Sam hesitantly place his hand on (Y/N)’s shoulder as she stood staring off into the dying fire.
“Whatever is going on with him we can fix it. But (Y/N),” Sam said as she looked up at him with tears streaming down her face, “you have to tell me everything that has happened.”
She nodded as they walked off towards the old pick-up truck Dean had left behind. She drove back to the Bunker where they sat down at one of the tables in the library. (Y/N) poured them both a glass of whiskey before she began telling him about The Mark.
“In order to kill Abaddon, a Knight of Hell, Dean took on The Mark of Cain. Him and Crowley, found Cain living on an old farm in Missouri. He had been living a peaceful life for centuries. Cain gave The Mark to Dean and it began to corrupt him.” She took a drink from her glass swirling the amber liquor in the tumbler.
Sam sat up slightly asking, “Corrupt him? How?”
She sighed heavily, “You know how Dean is, shoot first and ask questions later. However, with The Mark, it was like it was driving him to kill. He was enjoying it more, needed to kill in order to satisfy it. Once Dean killed Abaddon with the First Blade powered by The Mark everything went downhill.”
Sam ran his hand through his hair, “What is this cure you said you’re working on?”
“Crowley, Castiel and a powerful witch, Rowena are going through an ancient spell book called The Book of the Damned. Within in, is a spell to get rid of The Mark for good. Charlie had cracked the code to read the book and now Castiel is getting Rowena to perform the spell.” She explained guilt filling her (Y/C/E) eyes.
“The man I saw today, he wasn’t my brother. I can see how The Mark is weighing on him. Where is he going? I think I can talk him off the ledge, but we have to find him before he does anything stupid.” Sam watched as hope shined in her eyes for the first time.
(Y/N) downed the rest of her drink, “Let’s give him a little time and let me go to Cas and Rowena to see how far they are with a cure. Then we will find Dean.”
Sam nodded as she got up heading off to the garage. He finished off his own drink before picking up his phone and calling Abby. It rang and rang before her voicemail picked up.
“Hey honey, it’s just me. I was just calling to check in and…” he paused as a sudden wave of emotions hit him hard. “…I just wanted to hear your voice. I love you Abby and tell the twins I love them. I can’t wait to come home. Talk to you soon.”
As soon as he hit end Sam’s phone started buzzing with an unknown number calling him. He picked it up, “Hello Sammy.” Dean’s gruff voice came through the phone.
“Dean, where are you? Let me meet up with you.” Sam said standing up from the table.
“I really wish (Y/N) hadn’t gotten you mixed up in this. I stayed away for a purpose. I didn’t want to stay away you know, that right?” The sadness in his brother’s voice was bone chilling.
Sam started to make his way to the garage, “Tell me where you are so we can be a part of each other’s lives, Dean. You can see Abby again and meet my twins, Robbie and Mary. They would love to meet their Uncle Dean and Aunt (Y/N).”
He heard Dean suck in a breath, “Uncle? I’m an Uncle? Sammy, you shouldn’t be out here mucking it up with hunters when you have a family back home.”
“I came out here to find you. I would do anything for you, Dean. You’re my brother.” Sam had reached the garage and saw another car he could take.
Dean let out a long sigh before speaking and his tone made Sam’s heart stop. “I’ll text you and (Y/N) an address. Come meet me there. It’s time for me to take care of this once and for all. It’s time to say goodbye.”
Before Sam could say anything, Dean ended the call and immediately sent a text to Sam with an address in Superior, Nebraska. He brought up his GPS and quickly found the keys to the car. He drove just like Dean did down the highway.
When he arrived at the little run-down bar he saw the truck (Y/N) was driving and Baby. He rushed inside hearing (Y/N) pleading with Dean.
“This is ridiculous Dean! You can’t just go into outer space! We have a cure and we can save you if you let us.” Sam could see she was near tears as Dean pulled her to him.
He looked up a sad smile coming across his lips, “Hiya Sammy.” He said holding (Y/N) tightly.
Dean kissed the top of her head as she began to sob into his chest. He looked behind Dean to see an older man dressed in all black holding a scythe.
“Sam Winchester, it’s honor to meet you. I wish it was under better circumstances like your natural death.” The man said calming sitting on a bar stool.
Dean let go of (Y/N) and walked over to him. “Dean, who is that?” he asked as his brother place a hand on his shoulder.
“That is Death. The Death. He has come to take me away, so The Mark can’t hurt anyone else. You and (Y/N) are the only two people I care about most in this world and if I was to ever…” Dean paused fear filling his olive eyes, “ever to hurt either of you I could never forgive myself. It’s better if I were to go away all together than to chance hurting either of you.”
Sam shook his head, “No Dean. There has to be another way. We always find another way. You and me. We always find a way to get through the rough times. Please, let us help you.”
“You can’t help him, Sam. If you remove The Mark, then you will unleash an evil that is greater than anything this world has ever seen. The Darkness would be released, and the world would end.” Death explained.
Dean walked over to Death who handed him his scythe smiling slightly, “You know what needs to be done.” Dean nodded.
“I’m sorry Sam, (Y/N). I know you both will do anything to find me again and we can’t take that chance.” Dean stood in front of Sam and (Y/N) as they looked to one another realizing what he was saying.
Sam stepped in front of her, “There is no way in hell I’m letting you kill us. You have to fight this Dean! You can’t just give up!”
“I’m done fighting Sam. I’m tired and it all needs to end.” Dean raised the scythe, “Close your eyes Sammy, please.” Dean pleaded.

Marvin’s Birthday
Marvin was sitting in his room, reading one of his spellbooks as usual, he didn't have much planned for the day actually... Little did he know that was about to change... You slowly crept towards his room, peeking in at the unsuspecting magician... Perfect, he was distracted! You had secretly been plotting with all the other egos because today was the magician's birthday! So you all wanted to do something special, especially Jackie, he had been working extra hard for this... You could tell he definitely cared a great deal for the magician... Jackie had... honestly done a lot of work, he almost offered to take over for the other egos tasks but Henrik had warned him not to get too worn down, of course he isn't exactly one to talk either... However after everything was set up... Jackie had just... Vanished, maybe he went off to go find a present for Marvin or something of the sort, you weren't too worried... Everything was ready, now all you had to do was get Marvin out of his room which shouldn't be too hard, you knocked on the door and waited until he said 'come in', you could barely hide the smile on your face at this point. Marvin looked at you and rose a brow "Is there something wrong?" ...Of course, he usually assumes that a lot, especially considering Anti was around... You shook your head "No no, not this time anyways! Are you... doing anything important at the moment?" You would at least make sure he wasn't doing anything important before dragging him off into the other room. Marvin shook his head "No, not at the moment, I was just reading actually... Do you need something?" He seemed... suspicious now but you wouldn't spill it, everyone wanted to surprise him with this. "Well, could you come with me? I think... Jackie needs help with something-" Before you could continue the magician stood and put his book down "Ah of course, if he needs help then lead the way!" You smiled "Right this way then!" You got him... Sure that was a lie but eh, it was worth it to get him in there faster, you then lead him out of his room and into the living room which was... dark, very dark in fact. Marvin's suspicion only got worser before the lights turned on and everybody yelled surprise, well almost everyone... You noticed Jackie wasn't there, okay no need to panic... He might just be running late... Yeah, that's it! Marvin had a smile on his face along with a slight red tint that spread across his face as well "Aww, you guys remembered?" And with that the others nodded, Chase being one to speak up "Of course bro! We'd never forget yours or anyone's birthday!" You smiled slightly at this, before Henrik came over and dragged you away for a second "(Y/N)... Vwhere is Jackie? He should have been back by now" The doctor whispered, concern lacing his tone, he of course didn't want Marvin to overhear since he didn't deserve to be stressed like this, not on this day... You shrugged "I don't know... Maybe he's just running late, trying to find the perfect gift or something like that, just give him time Henrik... He'll be here, he would NEVER miss Marvin's birthday or anything of the sort..." You tried to reassure the doc but he still seemed... nervous himself, but he left it alone since it was basically time to give Marvin his presents! First up was you of course, you gave the magician a book on magical creatures seeing as you had it lying around and didn't really ever bother to read it, at least he could put it to good use! Marvin couldn't help but smile brightly "Ah thank you very much (Y/N)! I don't have this book either, I'll be sure to give it a good read later!" He then gave you a hug which you happily returned. "Of course, its no problem! Happy Birthday Marv!" You exclaimed, you then broke the hug and stepped to the side and looked at the line of egos, you bit your lip as you noticed Jackie still wasn't there... Just where was the hero? He couldn't have forgotten! He practically marks the calender in bright blinding red for this! ...You just prayed he'd be here soon... Next up was Henrik, he handed Marvin a med-kit since... that was... really all he had, but its still the thought that counts! "I zhought you might need zat considering I have been hearing some razher... loud explosions from your room before" Marvin grinned nervously "Ah... About those... I was... Mixing some potions and they just... kinda exploded, I think I added too many ingredients into some of them, but thank you nonetheless Henrik! I'm sure this will come in handy!" The doctor smiled happily "Of course! Just... Try to be careful vwith ze mixing sing... I don't vwant you getting hurt too badly!" He might have to give Marvin a supply of med kits if that kept up, he then gave the magician a quick hug before walking towards you and pulling you away once more. "(Y/N)... Jackie's still not here...! I'm vworried now, zis is taking vway too long fo' somevone like Jackie" He whispered, he didn't want Marvin to hear this and start worrying "Vwhere did you even last see him?" You shrugged "Last I saw him he was setting almost everything up for this party, he could've gotten a call to rescue someone or something like that... I know he'll be here, just give it time Henrik" You reassured the doctor, even though you both had the feeling something was off... Chase was next to step up, he seemed a bit... nervous but he went ahead and handed Marvin his gift anyways "I, uh, know ya probably won't care too much for it but that's honestly one of my best nerf guns dude!" He spoke, of course Marvin merely kept the bright smile on his face and hugged Chase as well "Of course I like it! Now we can have a war, I promise not to enchant it~" The magician gave the other a cheeky grin. Chase was...surprised the other liked his gift, he then grinned and finger gunned "Be careful Marv, your challengin' the champ when it comes to nerf stuff!" He then paused before pulling out some nerf darts "I almost forgot to give ya your ammo dude! Can't have a war without ammo!" He and Marvin laughed a little at their silliness. Chase then suddenly pulled out his nerf gun, he didn't fire of course but merely held it up "Whenever ya get the time dude just hit me up! And I'll be there to take ya down" Another laugh from the both of them before Marvin spoke up "We'll see Chase... We'll see~" And with that, Chase walked off, giving a slight wave to Marvin before he disappeared into the other room, and next up was... Robbie! Ah of course, even though the zombie didn't ENTIRELY understand the whole birthday thing he knew he should give Marvin a present though. (Robbie being in my stories has become- fuckin- tradition at this point I swear even though he's non-canon) Robbie slowly shuffled up to the magician, a lopsided smile plastered on his face "Marr Marr...! Happyyy... Birr...Birrthhdaay..." He had no idea if he said that right but either way he pulled out two clay figures one was of a magic wand and the other was a bunny "Hooppe... Liiike" Marvin took the clay figures and looked over them "Aww... Robbie they look adorable! Thank you so much" He pulled Robbie into a hug "You're doing amazing, sweetie" (Marvin the mom friend is here now-) Robbie gurgled happily and wrapped his arms around the other, snuggling into him "Gladdd... Marr Marr... Liiike... Rrrobbiee worrkk rrreall harrd!" He seemed proud of himself, of course Marvin's heart melted at that "You did a very good job! Your hard work paid off for sure" The zombie made a happy sounding noise as he nuzzled the other "Yaayyy! Haaavee goodd Birrrthdaayy...!" He reluctantly pulled back, as much as he'd love to stay there and cuddle Marvin he had to let the others give their presents to him. Robbie slowly but surely shuffled off, giving Marvin a slight wave before heading into the kitchen, he was probably going to go eat something. And finally JJ was up, this made you and Henrik worry even more, Jackie wasn't here still... Where was the hero?! He should've already been here! You mumbled "C'mon Jackie... Where are you...?" JJ smiled and began to sign 'Happy Birthday Marvin! I hope your havin' a jolly good time! You do seem to be enjoying yourself so far!' Marvin gave the other a nod, luckily he had learned sign language over the course of time "Yep! It's been pretty good so far!" He gave JJ a gentle hug before pulling back so the other could continue signing. 'Ah! Good heavens, before I forget!' He paused, pulling out a pocket watch 'I know it doesn't look like much however, let me tell you something my friend... It can come in handy if there's a tricky situation!' He gave Marvin a wink 'Well I should get going! It was good seeing you my friend!' Marvin smiled and looked at the pocket watch "Thank you Jameson! I really appreciate it!" And with that, JJ waved and went on his way. The Magician seemed... conflicted now, he was a mix of confused and upset, he sighed and was about to stand up before a loud static noise burst throughout the room, and sure enough, the glitch had appeared... Of course, out of all the people to show up it just H A D to be him... "̡́̕H̴͞e̷͘͜y͘͞͡ ͟C̨a̕t̷҉-B̸óy͢~̧ ͏̡I҉̡ ҉g͢͞ò̢t'c̷҉͢h̴͞ą̵ ̴so̵͜m̷̷e͡t҉h̡͡ì̧̧n̶'̕͜ ̷̨͞f̷͝e̴͏r ̧̕ţ̴̛h̴̀i͠͏s̕͜..͝.̴ ̵̢s͝ ̵͡p̕͡ ̶ę ͢͏̛c̨͜͞ ̸̷i͘͟ ͘͞a̶ l͠҉ ̴d̵̴a̕͞y͏͏~́͏!̛" Anti spoke, a large grin plastered on his face, he threw a box into Marvin's lap "̸̨̢O͞ ̡͘̕p͢ ͢e҉͠ n͝ ̛I͏ ͢͡ţ́.̢̕͘.͜.̀͝" He hissed, grabbing his knife and pointing it towards the magician... Henrik immediately shot up and some of the other egos came back into the room as well, they stayed close to Marvin just in case and pulled out their own weapons. Marvin's eyes were wide, this...this was sudden... He didn't want to open the box, he really didn't, it was probably something gross but he was....curious... He shakily reached for the box and pulled the top off, what he saw inside... What was once an expression of confusion and upset, was now one of pure fear. He pulled Jackie's bloodied mask out of the box, his hands were shaking as he held it in his hands, he then looked at Anti, his eyes almost glowed green "YOU... YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Suddenly, Anti was slammed against the wall with most likely magic, Marvin suddenly approached "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?!" Anti was cackling like crazy, even after being slammed into the wall it didn't seem to faze him as he glitched out of the magic hold Marvin had on him "A̡̡̕ẃw͏̶̵ ͝wha̷̕'̡s͟҉ ͜w҉͟ŕo̵͏n͡ģ̷̀?̡͜~̸́ ͞Y̧͢ę͢ ̸͞d͟͡o͘ǹ̸'̡͏t̢͘ ̀li̢͠k҉e ̸̡y̵̕e̛r͠ ṕŗ̶̀e͞s͡ę̛͟ņ͝t?̢̢̧~ ̶͟S͠ųch ̴̶a̴͠͡ ̨s̵͘͘ ͏h a҉ ͠m͏̨ ̧e̸̷~̕͜͠!͟" He couldn't help but cackle as the magician broke down and began to sob, holding Jackie's mask close to his chest. "YOU DIDN'T! YOU... YOU... HE'S NOT DEAD! YOU COULDN'T HAVE!" Marvin screamed, trying to lunge at Anti but the other egos held him back, while Marvin did have magic, if he had lunged at Anti he could've easily been stabbed or worse! Anti's grin only got wider as he came closer, holding his knife up "O̢̨h̕ b͘u͠͏̕t͞ ̕͝I͏ ͢di͜d͞~̨ ͏̵Y͢͜e̴҉̀r̢͝͠ ̢p҉r̴ę̷̨c̀͟io̴͠u͞s l҉̧̛į͜l͝ h͟ e ̢͠r̡҉ ̧͘o ì̕s̢ d͡e͟͝a̵̛d͘!~̀͡A͘͠n̶͢d ̵̀th̀͞e̵̢re͘͢͡ ́̕a͏in'̵͜͏t ͡a̕ n̕ ̧͜͢y̧ ̧t̨̛ ͟͝h͜ ̢͜͞i ̛n̸ ̴̸͡g̴҉ ̴̕y͜͝e͢ ҉c̸à̷n̢ ̧͏͟do͢ ̸a̡͜b̕͟ơu҉t i̡t̵~͜ ̸And gu̷͡e͞s̶̷̵ś̶̨ ͘w͘ha͏͞͞t͘͘?̵͟~҉ ̕͢.͜.̨.͡.Y͜͡ ͏͢e͘ ̸r̵̡̛ ̷̵͏ ̨͜N̡̕͘ ͏̡͟e͘͢ ̴x͜ ̵̕͢ţ͝~"̴ Marvin was angry at Anti but upset by what the glitch had said, there's...no way he could've killed Jackie... ...He did, it's Anti... Oh god Jackie was dead... That made tears pour from the magician's eyes and his sobs grew louder "J-Jackie... No.... N-No... Your...Your not..." He was slowly breaking down and that practically thrilled the glitch demon... Henrik growled "Zat's enough Anti! You...You are a monster..." He and the others just couldn't believe what they heard and you were completely shocked... What....What was happening? Before he could do anything else however, there was a flash of red and suddenly a loud crashing sound, it was... Jackie! He was alive! He was glaring at Anti and holding him against the floor "Get. The. Fuck. Away. From. Marvin. And. The. Others... Stay away from them, or I'll put you through all the fucking walls in this house!" Marvin immediately perked up upon hearing that voice, his eyes were wide at who he saw... It....It was Jackie! He immediately pulled away from the other's hold and ran to Jackie, almost tackling the hero even! "J-Jackie!" He cried out, hugging the hero tightly, he was...so scared to let go of the other, as if he'd disappear suddenly. ((Ah- I should go ahead n apologize- bc this is probably going to be rushed I know actually but I legit cannot help it this one time- and Anti's part wasn't the best but eh dont worry- Anti can do much worser than this ;) )) Jackie winced "M-Marvy... Too... Too tight..." He wheezed as Marvin slightly let up, but he immediately hugged the magician who was still sobbing back "Shh... It's alright dear, I'm fine! I'm here, Anti didn't do anything too bad, he was just trying to put that thought into your head" He grumbled, nuzzling Marvin gently. "He won't do anything... I promise, I will protect you and everyone else..." Marvin gave a nod and gave the hero a gentle kiss, he took notice of the blood and marks, it was obvious Anti had cut him up a good bit, he slowly waved his wand and suddenly Jackie was healed... He still continued to hold Jackie close, practically cuddling him at this point. The other egos along with you had cleared out, just so Marvin and Jackie could have a bit of privacy, a bit of alone time... God knows Marvin needed it at the moment considering he was tricked into thinking Jackie was dead. Jackie pulled back and looked into Marvin's eyes, he then pulled out a necklace, it appeared to be two pieces of a heart, one had a J on it and the other had an M on it, he gave the 'M' one to Marvin and smiled brightly "Happy Birthday Marvin... I would've been here sooner to give ya your present but of course I was a little tied up" Marvin examined the necklace before smiling and giving Jackie a kiss on the cheek "It's... Beautiful Jackie... I love it" He couldn't help but laugh as the hero blushed a bright red. The Hero cheekily grinned and scooped Marvin up into his arms "I'm glad... Honestly I didn't know if it would've been something ya wanted or not but guess I was right!" He nuzzled the other, placing some kisses all over his face and now it was the magician's turn to blush, Jackie always loved to see that blush and his embarrassment, it was...adorable honestly. There was a pause before Jackie gasped "....I DIDN'T MISS THE CAKE DID I?! IF I MISSED THE CAKE ANTI WILL BE TAKEN DOWN! THAT FIEND!" and of course Marvin laughed at that "Typical Jackie, no, the cake is... uhh..." And as if right on cue, you and the others walked back in with the cake in hand as well "The cake is right here" You spoke, smiling upon seeing Jackie holding the magician in his arms, they were cute together. And so... All of you had sat down and practically tore into the cake, except for Robbie who merely ate some meat, he was never a big fan of sweets like that, and Jackie practically d e s t r o y e d his piece, it was a wonder the hero didn't take the whole thing but since it was Marvin's birthday he didn't want to be rude... After awhile, everyone was full and headed back into their own rooms... Jackie carried Marvin up the stairs into his room, he gently placed the magician onto the bed and sat down himself, seeming content before Marvin rolled his eyes "You know I have legs Jackie, I can use them to walk" The Hero suppressed a snort "Nah, I prefer to carry you! It's fun, your so... small and light!" and upon hearing that Marvin turned towards Jackie and playfully glared "I am not that small!" Jackie rose a brow and stood up for a second, lifting Marvin up to stand in front of him, it took the hero a moment before he laughed "Your way smaller than me!" He couldn't help but tease, he always loved to tease Marvin. The Magician was pouting now as he turned away "Hmph, being small can have its advantages too you know" Upon hearing that, the hero hugged Marvin from behind "Yeah... It does actually, your too cute for your own good, that's your advantage~" Marvin's face instantly turned red and he covered his face with his hands "Jackie, that's enough teasing" Suddenly he was spun around and Jackie placed a kiss onto the other's forehead "Alright, alright, I'll stop" Marvin couldn't help but smile "Thank you..." He then yawned which immediately made Jackie raise a brow "Is someone tired? You must've had a long day" The Magician nodded, which lead to him being picked up and placed back into bed, Jackie hopped in beside him and wrapped his arms around the magician, pulling him closer "Sleep well Marvin... I'm sure ya need it..." Marvin mumbled something incoherent for a moment before speaking clearly "Alright... You better get...some rest too... been... long day... ...I love you..." at that, Jackie had to suppress a chuckle "Love you too Marvy..." And with that being said... they both fell asleep in each other's arms... ((ah shit I know, this isnt some of my best work but honestly I might have... stressed myself out too much with this story, I know its rushed n sloppy, like I kinda feel bad if it seems that way... Night Terrors - Part 3

Chase took another sip from his beer bottle. It was his fourth one today. His high tolerance for the liquid was starting to fail him, causing his mind to become fuzzy. He wanted to be drink. If he drank enough, he'd pass out before noon.
Or he'd die.
Either way was a good compromise.
Brody took another sip of alcohol, pondering how he would die. He never thought it be a heart attack. He always thought he would pass away with his loving wife and kids around him, his frail old body reaching for another hug. But he didn't have a wife and kids anymore. He traded them for whiskey and nightmares. Some depression too.
Someone knocked on his door. Standing up, he trudged through his flat, the small space the cheapest he could find.
Marvin stood there, a look of shock on his face.

"Chase? Are you alright?" I asked. The man before me was not the man I had seen five months ago. He had cut me off, and become this.... Drunk.
His eyelids drooped over his bloodshot eyes as he took a sip from a bottle. His stained shirt was making an awful smell, and he wreaked of booze. I sighed and walked in, closing the door behind me. He stumbled forward and fell on to the couch, sighing.
"I'm fine. Nice of you to drop in. If you'd given me a warning, I might've cleaned up the place." I knew he wouldn't have. I stared at him, inspecting every outline, even the scar on the side of his head.
"It's been awhile," I huffed, taking my wand out. "You missed Christmas." Waving it, I muttered a small incarnation under my breath. The objects on the floor moved to their appointed shelves as dishes started to do themselves. The trashbag filled itself and tied up, moving out of the bin for another bag to take it's place. The house continued cleaning itself as I sat down, the spell a little tiring.
"It was better without me," Chase murmured. He went to take another sip of beer, but snatched it out of his hand as I did so. He gave me a grumpy look.
"We need you sober for this one, buddy." I set the beer down and reached over to Chase, slowly hugging him. He relaxed immediately, strongly hugging me back.
"What one?" He asked into my shoulder. I smiled. He was gonna help. Maybe.
"The dreams we've been having.... Schneep suspects there's gonna be another you-know-who attack." I felt Chase shudder in my embrace. He broke apart, giving me a worried look.
"Do you think....?" He shuddered again as tears brimmed his eyes.
"No. Your kids are fine. They'll be fine. I promise."
He wiped his eyes. "Why do you guys need me? I'm a depressed drunk. You're a fucking magician."
"I need you because life is pointless without a best friend," I said. That was true. Chase Brody was the only person I could open up to. Putting on a grumpy persona for the rest of the Egos to see was just a trick I had learned. Chase saw right through it. He was the person I could rely on most.
A ringing sound echoed through the room. I took out my vibrating phone and gave Chase an apologetic smile. He nodded as I answered.
"What's up?" I asked. It was Robbie.
"Henrik.... Is ..... Acting weird," the zombie grumbled into the phone. "He keeps muttering about.... Coming back... We isolated him into one of.... The lab rooms...."
I jumped up, tugging Chase with me as I did so. I pulled my wand out and put it against the front door. As it moved, it burned a sign into the wood. Chase groaned as I ruined the door.
"We're on our way," I said, hanging up the phone as the door glowed. I opened it, shoved Brody through, and slammed it behind me.
We tumbled into Schneeplestein's lab. My head slammed into the opposite wall as Chase rolled on top of me, smiling as he did so.
"You guy look gay," Jackie snickered. He flashed forward, seeming to appear right next to us. He helped the trickshooter up, leaving me on the floor.
"How ya doing Chasey?" Jackie asked. "Youve been putta contact lately."
"I'm pulling through," Chase responded with.
I stood up, brushed myself off, and walked down the hallway. "No time for chatting."
Henrik had turned an old studio into a makeshift lab. It was full of hospital supplies and rooms beyond rooms of different labs. He was a scientist as much as a doctor.
Robbie saw me, his sad face perking up. His smile made the rip in his face move, a weird tearing sound echoing his words.
"You made.... it," he groaned in his montone voice. He, unlike some of the other egos, did not like hugs. Neither did I, so I nodded politely as he led the way to Schneep.
"He's been... whispering things. He randomly shouts at times too. And... he keeps talking about..... dying." Robbie twitched, something I noticed as a nervous thing. He normally wasn't anything but melancholy, so any other emotion showed he was improving his... humanity.
"Dying?" I questioned. He nodded vigorously, or as quickly as a zombie could nod.
"Yes. He's... in here...." Robbie turned down another hallway, leading us to Jameson. He looked relieved as he saw us, his mustache seeming to sag instead of his shoulders.
I walked forward and opened the door, noticing that fingernail marks on it. I closed the door behind me, nodding to Jackie, Robbie, Chase, and Jamie through the viewing glass.
A figure was hunched over in the farthest corner of the room, his back shaking. Henrik turned to face me, his eyes crazed.
"Marvin... Ze demon.... He- ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!" He suddenly screamed, his face contorting into rage. He lost the expression quickly, looking frightened. "He is taking control. I... can not... stahp him."
I slowly stepped forward. Nobody was worried about me being so close to....
My old master.
Schneep whimpered. "He's... inside." He shook aggressively, and then went still.
Antisepticeye looked up, his eyes black and bleeding. He shook Schneeplestein's arms, stretching his fingers.
"Ah, hey old friend," he said, grinning at me. Reality around him glitched, and the green filter appeared on Schneep.
"It's been awhile."

The Hunt Chapter 3
Story Summary: Its been thirteen years since Mabel helped Dipper defeat Bill. And five years since she last step foot in Gravity Falls or even seen her twin brother. Desperate for information and help, Mabel returns to Gravity Falls in hopes of finding her Grunkle Ford but instead, she finds Wendy Corduroy, the new sheriff of the strange town. Why did Mabel leave? What is Wendy hiding?
Chapter Title: Meeting Old Friends

This morning, the sun didn’t try to stab at Mabel’s eyes as she awoke. She stretched as far as she could, her feet and hands bumping against the couch’s armrests. Mabel sat up and rubbed the remainder of sleep from her eyes. A bed would have been more comfortable but she couldn’t really complain. She slept in far worse places in her travels, many times fearing that she wouldn’t open her eyes again. Mabel looked at the clock hanging above the television set. 4:24 AM. She doubted Wendy was up by then and began her daily exercises. She went through her fifty situps and twenty pushups before leaving the house to jog for an hour. It wasn’t enough to build up too much muscle but it was suitable to make sure she stayed limber and strong. When she reentered the house, Mabel could hear movement from the other side of a closed door and assumed Wendy was up and about. She went into the house’s one bathroom and noticed the tub was wet from a recent shower. She got in the tub and took a relatively quick shower, she would have loved to take a nice long one but apparently Wendy loved hot water as there was very little left for Mabel.
Mabel was shivering by the time she got dressed and went into the kitchen. Wendy was there, sipping a cup of coffee, smiling apologetically when she saw Mabel’s cold state. “Sorry about that.” Wendy offered a cup of fresh coffee as a gift of peace. The younger woman accepted it with a scowl but as the liquid warmed her, she found herself becoming happier, despite of the plans she had for the day. Mabel finished the cup and set it in the sink. “I’m going out for a bit. Do you want anything while I’m gone?” The younger woman felt a little weird sleeping on Wendy’s couch and using her utilities rent-free. She could at the very least pick up some candy or soda for the sheriff.
Wendy drank the rest of her coffee and looked at Mabel. “Cool, I got the day off too so I’ll tag along.” She spoke with an expression that said she wasn’t going to take ‘no’ for an answer. She was worried about Mabel and she wanted to make sure she was staying safe. A part of her, although she would deny it if someone asked her about it, was worried that Mabel might go after the magical creatures residing in the forests.
“Okay,” Mabel said, not putting up any resistance. She guessed that Wendy would want to come as well and figured that she would save the older woman the hassle of trailing her if she said no. At least, that’s what she would have done if she was in Wendy’s shoes. Mabel knew that the sheriff was perhaps a bit suspicious of Mabel’s feelings to the magical creatures of Gravity Falls after reading her journal. She fingered the hilt of her knife as she led the way to Wendy’s cop car. She got in the passenger seat and watched as Wendy called in sick. “Playing hookie? That’s illegal, Sheriff Corduroy,” Mabel teased.
“It’s only illegal if I get caught,” Wendy retorted, smirking as she pulled out of her driveway. “Besides, I’m the boss. Who’s gonna arrest me? Robbie?”
Mabel sat up straighter in her seat in shock. “Wait! Robbie’s a cop too?”
Wendy laughed and nodded. “Yep! He’s actually deputy now.” She glanced at Mabel and smiled at the expression of surprise still on her face. “He’s more of a pencil pusher though so don’t expect him to pull you over for speeding.” Wendy turned a right to go on the street that went through the forest. Soon, the smooth pavement became a dirt road and Wendy was careful that she didn’t push the car too much. She pulled over on the side of the road and made sure to grab a flashlight and a map in case they got lost but she wasn’t really worried about that possibility. She spent all her life in these woods and knew them like the back of her hand. “It’s about an half-hour walk to the statue,” Wendy informed Mabel. The older Pines twin simply nodded with a serious face. Wendy realized with a plummeting stomach that the old, playful Mabel was gone and deadly, hunter Mabel took her place.
The two walked in silence for most of the time. Wendy attempted to spark some conversation on how the magical creatures were faring but Mabel was too focused on scanning their surroundings, her eyes never staying on one place for long. Wendy sighed and stared straight ahead. There was nothing in these woods that would dare mess with them.
Wendy could tell they were getting close to Bill’s statue by the amount of noise. There was none. No squirrels rustling the leaves in the above canopies, no birds singing their songs, no random animal scurrying about the underbrush. There was simply their feet snapping dry twigs or disturbing the fallen leaves. “I don’t like this,” Wendy muttered, wishing she had brought along her axe. It wouldn’t be able to do much against the supernatural beings of Gravity Falls, much less Bill, but it would have comforted her.
The younger woman knew they were nearing the statue by her aches. Each scar that had come from her hunts burned with a higher intensity as the two walked through the woods. Her leg felt as if there were maggots feasting on her flesh and digging their way to the bone. She had cleaned the wound after her hangover a few days before but it felt like she did nothing to stop the maggots. Mabel grit her teeth and bared it as much as she could, regretting letting Wendy come with her. If she was alone, she could have rested but now she didn’t have that luxury. Maybe if they came across a creek, Mabel could use the excuse of getting water to halt their progress.
“There,” Mabel sighed, spotting the stone statue of the being that almost destroyed their universe. Her body was aflame from her old wounds, like the creatures were still attacking her. She grimaced at the dead grass encompassing Bill’s statue. It formed a perfect circle and Mabel half-expected it to be in the shape of a triangle. There was a skeleton of a small rodent, a mouse perhaps. From the looks of it, the poor creature only set the tiniest claw into the circle’s circumference. Mabel pointed it out to Wendy and the sheriff nodded in understanding. “Let’s get this over with,” the hunter said, pulling out the dagger she had held to Wendy’s throat just days prior.
Wendy gulped at the sight of the weapon, remembering the cool kiss it gave her. She could focus on it better now that it wasn’t threatening her life and noticed some runes carved into the steel. “What are those?”
Mabel glanced down at the markings with something of a bored expression. “These are symbols from different ancient civilizations.” She tapped the one closest to the hilt. “This is Nazar, or the Evil Eye, and like the others, it helps detect evil.” Mabel pointed the tip of the dagger to the statue. “The hotter this dagger feels, the more evil a creature is.” She carefully took a step forward and licking her lips, thrust the dagger into the circumference of the circle. Immediately, blue flame sprouted out of the steel and Mabel snatched it back towards her. The fire went out as soon as it was out of Bill’s range and Mabel laughed nervously. “That was close!”
“Um, yeah,” Wendy didn’t know what to make of the blue flames. The blade was glowing red from the fire and she didn’t want to know how Mabel was able to still hold it so casually. “Is, uh, that a good thing or a bad thing?”
“A good thing, ” Mabel answered, kneeling down to stab the knife into the soil. Tendrils of steam rose from the dagger as the damp soil cooled the blade. “A very good thing. The fact that it had such a violent reaction means that Bill is still trapped in the stone.” Mabel tugged the dagger from the ground and inspected the steel. It was cool enough to slip into the holster without it melting the leather.
“Is that all for today?” They hadn’t really done much but Wendy was more than willing to head back to the house to relax. Just being in the same vicinity as Bill, statue form or not, was enough to set her on edge. Wendy kept glancing back to the stone statue as if it would come alive at any moment. When she received no immediate answer, the sheriff felt dread. “What is it?”
“I want to visit Gideon,” Mabel admitted. “If Grunkle Ford isn’t here then he’s the next best thing.” She could tell that from the silence that she had stunned Wendy. She started to walk away from the site with Wendy following. With each step she could feel the pain leaving her body, except for the leg. Mabel would have to change the bandages soon again and her gut tightened uneasily at the prospect. “Do you know where he lives now?”
Wendy nodded, turning her head to give the Bill statue one last look before a tree obscured her view. “Yeah, but we’ll find him at that car dealership now. He became a partner in his father’s business and made a name for himself. Even people out of town come to see him and not for that psychic bullshit.”
“I’m surprised he didn’t demand full ownership,” Mabel laughed to hide the groan of pain. The foot of her injured leg hit against a hidden root and the jolt sent a wave of pain up her limb. She saw Gideon grow into a respectable man before she stopped coming to Gravity Falls but she knew that a lot can happen in five years. She’s a prime example.
The two exited the woods and got into the sheriff’s car. They drove to the once-shoddy dealership in good time. Mabel took the opportunity to massage her injured leg as discreetly as possible. It was getting a lot worse now, probably needing a visit to the hospital but she couldn’t afford it in time or money. Hunting wasn’t really profitable but at least the families tend to let her crash at their places while she took care of the monster tormenting them.
Mabel almost gasped at the sight of the cars lining the Gleeful’s car lot. She remembered them all being busted up and rusted but now their exteriors shined from care without a single scratch on it. There was even a sign on the windshields informing the customer of the possibility to test drive the car, something Bud Gleeful would have been too nervous to try before on the account that most of the cars he tried to sell were horrific. The two women exited their vehicle and Wendy led Mabel to the office when they couldn’t spot Gideon’s white hair in the crowd gushing over a mercedes. Wendy didn’t bother knocking before turning the knob and walking inside.
At the only desk in the building sat Gideon. He was typing away on a computer, the very action seeming strange to Mabel, but swiveled around when he heard the little bell at the door ding. “How may I he- Mabel!?” Gideon jumped out of his chair, a large smile springing on his face at the sight of the older Pines twin.
The woman in question could only stare at the young man. He had changed in the last five years. He still wore the blue suit but now filled it out with more muscle instead of fat, however there was a little pudge at his stomach. Gideon sported a well kept goatee that was the same snowy white as his hair. He strutted up to Mabel, having caught her eyes looking him over, and held out his hand. Mabel took it but instead of a handshake like she expected, Gideon raised her hand to give it a quick kiss. “I never thought I would see such a beautiful woman again,” he said charmingly as he let go of Mabel’s hand.
Mabel could only blush and coughed into the hand that Gideon didn’t kiss. She thought he would have gotten over her in her absence but it seems that he didn’t. Gideon was still after her heart when she came back for her second summer and all the rest after that but instead of being really pushy and creepy, it was more of that puppylove Dipper had for Wendy. At times it was actually cute opening the door out of the shack and seeing a bouquet of flowers with a card asking how she was. “If you want to see a beautiful woman, all you have to do is look to my left.” Mabel gestured towards Wendy as if she was presenting her at an art gallery.
Now Wendy felt her cheeks start to become warm but she didn’t really understand why. Mabel just wanted Gideon’s attention off of her, that’s all. Gideon gave her a friendly grin but not with as much charisma as he showed Mabel. “Can I help you two with something?” he asked, looking at Mabel. If Wendy needed something, she would have called him or demanded that he come to the police station. Gideon was sure that it was Mabel who wanted his expertise, or at least he sincerely hoped so.
“Yes,” Mabel nodded, taking out her journal. “How much do you remember of Grunkle Ford’s journal?”
At the words, the cheerful expression melted to hesitation and a bit of fear but Gideon was quick to put on a mask of confidence for Mabel. “I must admit I’m a bit, erm, tentative to recall those chapters of my life shall we say. With all those attempts of stealing your Mystery Shack, attacking your brother, dealing with Bill, and, uh,” Gideon blushed with shame and embarrassment, “the other unpleasantries.”
“Like holding me prisoner in that insanity bubble so I would be your queen?” Mabel asked. When Gideon looked down at the floor, she was reminded of a hurt puppy and felt absurd guilt pierce her. He had turned over a new leaf but that didn’t erase all the bad things Gideon had done in the past.
Gideon brushed back his hair and grabbed his collar. From the years she known the man Mabel learned that his actions were a nervous tick, like Soos’s nervous talking. “But if truth be told, I remember everything from that journal. I have a photographic memory, you see.” He glanced at the closed door and leaned closer to Mabel, holding up one hand as if to shield the words from Wendy and jerking his thumb to the door. “Since its about those journals, I have to ask. Is the, er, other one outside?”
“No,” came the swift answer from both Wendy and Mabel. The older Pines twin pulled out her journal to show Gideon. “Dipper doesn’t know I’m here and I wish to keep it that way. The summer I didn’t come back was when I started to travel the world, finding my own Gravity Falls.” The joke made Wendy frown but Gideon didn’t know why.
For his part, Gideon didn’t question Mabel’s motives, figuring that they must be good ones. Anything paranormal would bring Dipper running like a dog to a big, juicy steak. “As you wish, my lady. Besides, it’s so much more peaceful around these parts without him trying to poke his nose into my business, seeing if I’m still evil and whatnot,” he laughed like it didn’t bother him. He held out his hand and Mabel put her journal into it. Gideon opened it at the beginning, his eyebrows immediately furrowing as he read of her first hunt for a poltergeist. He read the pages of her first hunt quickly but skimmed through the other entries, his face paling to the color of his hair and beard. “I never even heard of some of these abominations!” he exclaimed, now only reading the dates of the entries and what Mabel was hunting at that time. Wendy really didn’t like how even Gideon didn’t know the creatures which meant that Ford, whose journal taught Gideon everything he knew about the supernatural, didn’t either. “The dates,” he whispered, going back some entries to confirm his suspicions, “they’re becoming more frequent.”
“Don’t look too much into that,” Mabel chimed. “I think I’m getting better at finding them, not that there numbers are actually increasing.”
Gideon nodded on instinct and finally landed on the last entry. If he looked scared before now he was absolutely petrified. His eyes went as wide as they could and the book almost fell out of his trembling hands. “The wendigo escaped,” he read aloud. Gideon stared at Mabel desperately, like he wanted her to say that this was all a big joke. “You let a wendigo escape!?”
“Whoa whoa,” Wendy called out, snatching the journal from Gideon’s quaking hands. “Wendigos are a thing?”
“Yes,” Gideon’s voice was a trembling mess. He didn’t take his eyes off Mabel as he pointed an accusing finger at her. “Why would you go after such a thing? They are one of the most dangerous creatures in this dimension! Even your great uncle warned never to cross paths with one.”
“I know,” Mabel gritted out through clenched teeth. It wasn’t that she was truly mad at either of them, just saying the creature’s identity made her leg burn. She looked at Wendy who was still reading her journal but continually glanced up to look at her. “I lost its trail a few weeks ago and I wanted to see if Grunkle Ford had any idea how to track it down.” Mabel met Gideon’s eyes and talked before he could voice his objections. “I was able to corner it but it fled before I could kill it.” Her eyes narrowed as she recalled that day. “It got my leg pretty bad and I had to stay in a local hospital for three months before I could try and track it again. I found it’s trail but it led to a dead end.”
“Then it's probably dead!” From what Wendy read, she prayed that was the case but both pairs of doubtful eyes ruined that hope. “Even if it isn’t, why would you want to find that thing?” It might have been selfish, if that creature was still alive it was still killing, but Wendy didn’t want Mabel facing that thing again.
“It has her scent,” Gideon answered with a grave voice.
Mabel smiled at them sadly. “I don’t know if it's playing with me or not but I don’t want to wait and find out. That area has had twenty three fatal grizzly maulings in the past three decades even though no one has even sighted a grizzly in the surrounding area. There’s also numerous missing persons that all seem to be concentrated in that one area.” She gestured to the journal where she had written all that down. “It is probably responsible for a hundred more deaths.” Mabel gently pried the journal from Wendy’s stiff fingers and put it back in its pocket.
Gideon played with his tassel, tightening it and then loosening it a moment later. “If I remember something, I’ll be sure to tell you.” He looked crestfallen as he said, “I’m sorry I couldn’t offer more of my assistance on the matter.”
“It’s okay, Gideon,” Mabel reassured him. “Honestly, I didn’t believe that there would be much if anything on wendigos in Grunkle Ford’s journals. If there was, then the magical creatures would know and would have left Gravity Falls a very long time ago.” The words did comfort Gideon a bit and he grinned up at Mabel.
“Well, if you need a new car don’t forget to call us. I’ll cut you a good deal.”
The two women left the building and headed to the parked car. This time, Mabel couldn’t suck up the pain and ended up limping when she got halfway to the car. She slumped into her seat and met Wendy’s worried eyes. Sighing, she rubbed her leg to try to massage some of the pain away. “I know, I know. I should have told you.”
Despite her concern for the younger woman, Wendy made a grunt of agreement. “Damn right you should have. This is big, Mabel.” She chewed her bottom lip before venturing out in dangerous territory. “You don’t want to call Dipper, right?” Mabel nodded, wondering where Wendy was going with this. “Then you can’t keep stuff like this from me, especially if you’re living in my house.” Wendy raised her hand when Mabel opened her mouth. “And no, I’m not going to let you sleep in that shitty motel so you just have to deal with telling me the truth.”
Mabel rolled her eyes and patted her injured leg. “First off, sorry for not telling you. I’ll make sure to let you in on what’s happening, as long as you don’t get too involved. This is my fuckup, not yours.” Mabel winced and groaned, sagging against the seat. “Second, I was going to ask if you knew how to change bandages.” She smiled through the pain at Wendy. “It feels like that thing is still slicing into my leg.”

Anti found Robbie in the garden out back. He was hugging his knees to his chest and staring blankly out into the forest behind their house. Anti, along with everyone else, knew that if Robbie was having a bad day and he wasn’t in his room, he was sitting in the garden with his flowers, and that was exactly where Anti found him when he made his way towards the younger ego.
“Hey, Robster,” Anti said once he parked himself next to where Robbie sat to announce his presence. The last thing he wanted to do was startle him. “Bad day?”
Robbie said nothing, but nodded in response.
“Mind if I sit with you?” Anti asked. Again, no response, but Robbie scooted over to make room for the taller ego, and Anti sat down once he did, crossing his legs and planting his palms next to his sides and into the grass. “So, what’s up? Whose ass do I gotta kick around here?” The glitch chuckled when he saw he got a tiny smile out of Robbie, but he wasn’t planning on stopping there. “Seriously, though, what’s wrong? Was someone mean to you earlier?”
“Yeah…” Robbie responded quietly, almost inaudible.
Anti felt the anger start to burn in his chest, and he dug his nails into the dirt to focus the energy elsewhere. “When did that happen?”
“Park… with Mar…” Robbie’s voice stayed quiet, and it hurt Anti to hear his normally bubbly and happy little brother so solemn and sad.
“Who was mean to you at the park?”
“Stray-gers… Mar made… go away, though…”
“I’m glad he did, but what did the strangers say to you?” The silence Anti was met with only intensified his concern. “Robbie, you can tell me. I promise I won’t flip my shit and turn them into Swiss cheese.”
Robbie didn’t respond immediately, but only because he was thinking. “Ati?” he asked after a bit, shifting his position so he was facing Anti more. “Am I… wrong?”
Anti stared at Robbie, completely dumbfounded. “What?”
“With… me? Wrong… with me?” The zombie’s eyes were wide and his ears were tilted downwards, and he just looked so… small.
“Where did you…?” Anti shook his head. “No, Robbie, nothing is wrong with you, and whoever gave you that idea fucking lied to you, and–”
“Called me… stupid.” Robbie’s eyes started glittering with forming tears. “Stupid, an’ dumb, a-an’ broked, an’…” His voice was shaking at this point, and he hugged himself tighter while Anti stared in shock. “A-Are they… right?” The zombie looked up at Anti then, tears falling down his face and his lip trembling. “I-I no… I not…!” That was when the dam finally broke and Robbie started crying, big wet tears streaming down his cheeks as his thin frame shook with his sobs, and Anti immediately brought him into a hug.
“Shh, Robbie, shh… it’s okay…” Anti cooed, petting his little brother’s hair while he cradled him in his lap. He stayed like that for a while, cuddling Robbie in his lap while the younger ego released his emotions from earlier that day through his sobs, clutching his big brother’s shirt in his hands and crying into his chest. The glitch waited until Robbie’s sobs had calmed and he was only sniffling before speaking.
“Robbie, listen to me, okay? Look at me.” Anti tapped Robbie’s chin so that he was looking up at him, his cloudy lilac eyes shimmering and his gaunt cheeks wet with tears. “Nothing is wrong with you, okay?”
“N-No wrong?” Robbie asked with a shaky voice, still thick from crying.
“Nope.” Anti shook his head with his response, and a small smile was on his face. “You wanna know how I know?”
Robbie nodded, and Anti’s smile grew.
“I know, because everyone in there,” Anti tipped his head towards the house behind them, “knows you better than some fuckface strangers.” The glitch stroked Robbie’s hair soothingly as he talked. “Me, Mar, Sheep, Juhbum… everyone in our family knows that you aren’t anything like what those strangers said about you.”
“You all smart.”
“Yeah, and so are you.” Anti ruffled Robbie’s hair just a bit, making the smaller ego giggle quietly. “You’re smarter than you think, and you show it in really… “nontraditional ways”, as Marvin would probably say.” Robbie giggled quietly again, and Anti’s smile grew. “You’re also one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and you treat everyone kindly, even if they don’t deserve it. You’re thoughtful, compassionate, caring, and selfless, and you’re an absolute joy to be around.” Anti hugged Robbie closer to him, letting him rest his head against his chest while he continued to stroke his thick purple hair. “You’re super helpful with stuff around the house, even if you can get a bit clumsy with it sometimes. You have the patience of a goddamn saint, and so what if it takes you longer to understand some stuff, or to process what’s going on? You do it in your own way that works for you, and that doesn’t mean you’re broken; it just means you’ve found a way that works best for you, and not a lot of people can say that.”
Robbie said nothing for a few minutes, letting what Anti said soak into his brain. Once everything processed for him, though, did he speak. “I… good.”
“Fuck yeah you are, Robster,” Anti responded with a grin, ruffling Robbie’s hair and making him giggle. His grin softened into a smile after a moment, and he let his hand rest on top of Robbie’s head. “You’re the most good thing to ever happen to me – to all of us – and we wouldn’t want you any other way.” Anti’s clawed hands migrated towards Robbie’s face, and he used them to gently cup his brother’s sunken cheeks in them. “You’re Robbie McLoughlin the Zombie, and you are a fucking boss.”
“Like a boss!” Robbie declared, grinning widely and laughing happily soon afterwards, sweet and childish and so very contagious, and Anti couldn’t help but join in his brother’s bubbly laughter. They calmed down a few minutes later, Anti still holding Robbie and Robbie still giggling a little.
“Glad you’re feeling better, Robbie,” Anti said, planting a soft kiss on Robbie’s head.
“Thank you, Ati!” Robbie said, his mood having been greatly elevated from earlier. “I love you.” The younger ego hugged his brother and rested his head against his chest, purring softly.
“Love you too, squirt,” Anti responded softly, resting his cheek against Robbie’s head. “Do you wanna head back inside soon, or…?”
“Noooo,” Robbie whined, hugging Anti tighter. “Ati stay longer! Wanna stay with flowers!”
The glitch chuckled at his brother’s childish behavior. “Alright, alright, we can stay out here a little longer.”
“Yay!” Robbie cheered, making Anti chuckle again. He leaned back into a more comfortable position, but let Robbie stay in his lap, and the duo sat there and enjoyed the garden’s calming atmosphere a while longer.

Marvin found Anti and Robbie in the garden out back. It had been over an hour since Anti went out to go find and comfort the zombie, and he was usually able to cheer Robbie up by now, so Marvin couldn’t help but worry. By the 90 minute mark, the magician couldn’t wait any longer and made his way to the garden, his cape billowing behind him as he walked briskly through the garden and called out their names. He soon cut himself off, though, when he saw the scene before him, and he couldn’t help but smile.
He found Robbie and Anti lying down in the grass, sound asleep. Robbie was curled up next to Anti, his head resting over Anti’s heart and his arm draped over his chest, while Anti laid on his back with one arm tucked behind his head while the other was wrapped around Robbie’s shoulders. Robbie snored softly while Anti snored… well, like Anti, and they both had peaceful expressions on their faces.
Marvin pulled something out of his pocket, stood there for a few seconds, and then shoved the thing he pulled out back in his pocket, turning on his heel and heading back to the house. He was smiling, but some would easily mistake it for a smirk. He didn’t want to disturb such a peaceful moment between those two, so Marvin decided to leave them be for now. He’d come out and get them if they didn’t wake up by dinner, but until then, he let them sleep.
Once he made his way inside and closed the door behind him, Marvin’s smirk (it was definitely a smirk at this point) grew into a grin as he fished out his phone and tapped on the Gallery app, giggling a bit at the picture he took of Anti and Robbie sleeping in the garden. “Jackie, come here! I have to show you something!” the magician hollered as he made a beeline towards his boyfriend’s room, excited and impatient to show him the picture still displayed on his phone screen.

Description: Shooting a scene with Robbie Kay becomes difficult when your heart begins to cloud your judgement about what was going on.

"Look, there is something that I need to tell you." You started staring at Robbie sitting on the side of his bed as you stand before him.
"Okay? I guess I'm listening, but seriously you really need to pick better timing. I finally have Olivia over and you just whisked me away as if it was the end of the world." Swallowing hard you bit your tongue suddenly fearful.
"I... Well I..." It was important to get this out now and all you could do was stutter trying to find the words to say.
"Seriously I don't have time for this." He said getting up from the bed and standing straight causing your head to tilt up since he was slightly taller than you. "I'm sure that we can discuss this another time really but right now I need to be with my actual-" Knowing you were losing him completely panic took over instincts roll and threw you at him. Your hands grabbed his face and held him still as your lips hit his hard.
The kiss was honestly more like a smack in the face with your face than anything until you began to show more passion. To your surprise this was about the same time Robbie actually began to kiss back. A few more seconds of this awkward, yet pleasant, kiss only made your mind fuzzy and heart flutter much to what you wished wouldn't happen.
"Aaannd. Break." someone said causing you to pull away snapping back into reality. Releasing Robbies face you watched with horror and blush as he falls back to sitting on the bed with a shocked face. Only thing was that his was probably all just acting while yours was all too real.
You opened your mouth to say something as nothing came to mind of what was supposed to come next. You had read that script over and over again at least a hundred times before you went to do this scene but lost every ounce of it as soon as your lips connected. "I.. I'm sorry." you say out of breath before walking half a room away as soon as he stood up again.
"Ja-" you opened the door of the room big enough for you to slide through before slamming it shut behind you and continuing as fast as you could away from the whole set and scene. He was going to call out your characters name but what did it matter that he stayed in character? Shutting your eyes and leaning against a wall that was just around the corner of the hall where the room was located you try not to cry.
Robbie was just a co-star, that was all he was and honestly he'd never see you as anything more than just that. But that kiss, that stupid horrible kiss, you let your feelings in the way of it and showed all what you felt to him in it. There was little doubt in your mind that he didn't notice the feelings you placed in it. You had to be blind to not notice it. "Nice one [Y/n]. Now he is never going to talk to you again." you told yourself shaking your head before opening your eyes once more and looking down the hall before you started walking again.
Before shooting the scene you said that you'd take a break after it was done, but you didn't realize that after this simple scene that'd you be needing it to calm your nerves down like this. Why did I agree to do this? You asked yourself over and over again. "They could have found someone way better without this problem." shaking your head your push your fingers through your hair as you walk down the stairs hoping to be alone to your thoughts. It probably wasn't exactly the best choice you made but your couldn't handle being around anyone. "Even they probably noticed." you bang your hand against the cool railing before gripping it tightly as you lowered yourself to sit on one of the steps a few flights down from where you were shooting.
"I'm such a fucking failure." You huffed out weakly before wrapping your arms around your knees and throwing your head to lay on top of them with your eyes shut tightly.
"[Y/n]" a voice said softly causing you to tense up immediately and hold your breath. "You're not a failure." they claimed taking a few more steps. Turning to look over your shoulder slightly you saw their shoes just a few steps away from you. Glancing farther up the figure you make your way to their face and see them appear a bit nervous.
Robbies brows were furrowed and he wore a weary smile as his hand rubbed the back of his neck slightly. "Look, [Y/n]-" the instant he start you jolt up and start to rush down the stairs wanting to be as far from him as possible. His face dropped immediately before he quickly began to follow. "Hey. [Y/n]. Wait." he stated skipping a few steps here and there to catch up with your quick moving body.
This was just like that scene you had shot earlier that day, it was the scene that would come right after that kiss you did in the movie. That scene was actually shot in a house the movie was revolving around rather than an empty hotels stair well.
"Hold up." Robbie yelled out to you jumping half the stair case before colliding into your body and trapping you against the wall. One of his hands held your upper arm firmly but not enough to leave a mark as his other hand braced against the wall trapping you in a corner. In the scene he never caught you, but in real life apparently it was unavoidable.
"[Y/n]. Can we please talk?" he pleaded not planning on letting this go. Your heart pounded hard against your chest as your refused to turn to face him keeping your back to him trying to hold back your tears imagining the worst possible conversation you both could have.
"Please. I'm sorry. Just... leave me alone..." You say with a cracking voice leaning your head against the wall making no attempt to move at all.
"No, I need to tell you something." he said trying hard to get you to open up and talk to him, hoping that you would turn around and face him. Noticing the lack of movement and the silence from you he pulled you back towards him before forcing you to turn around. Your head lowered itself instantly feeling trapped. His body was so close to yours making you shut your eyes imagining yourself forming into the wall.
You feel a warm hand cupping your cheek gently causing your brows to furrow. Presenting a little resistance towards him raising your head eventually you gave up. Opening to look at him only made your heart speed up ten fold as his lips were suddenly on yours. His eyes closed as he focused on the kiss. Shortly after he pulled away with a smile on his face. "[Y/n] I love you." he whispered, his green eyes looking right into your wide, scared [e/c] eyes.

Time: Monday Morning, 4 June 2018
Setting: The Decent set
Summary: Blaine’s father finally found him.
Blaine waved to Jack, Sebastian, and Robbie with a smile as he split off from them to put his stuff in the small little trailer that was provided for him for filming. It was nothing fancy, just a small space with an attached bathroom that he could lounge in while he waited to film. It had been something of his oasis since the anonymous messages were sent to him a week prior. He knew that his father couldn’t make his way on set; it was safe.
Or so he thought.
He opened the door to his trailer and froze as he saw the other person sitting on the small couch, seemingly waiting for him. He stared hard at his father, feeling every emotion from the past week bubbling to the surface. The general fear, the anger, the relief (that his mother was finally leaving him)...but he couldn’t draw a single emotion to his face. Instead, he just stared.
“Blaine,” Richard greeted him with a smug smile. “It’s good to see you. I know your schedule has been busy since your mother and I have been in town, but I’m so glad you found the time.”
Blaine first instinct was to run. To back out of the door, call for Robbie and have his father escorted off the premises. But there was a newfound spark in him as he watched his father. So, instead, he closed the door and dropped his bag on the floor and went to the closet to hang his jacket up; essentially pretending as if his father wasn’t even there.
He heard the frustrated huff behind him. “Come now, Blaine, surely you can spare a minute for your old man, right?”
“If I had any belief that this would be a pleasant meeting, then sure,” he muttered back as he pulled out his attire for the slated scene. He finally turned around and looked at Richard. “But I’ve known you for 21 years, Dick. And I know how this is going to end, and frankly, I don’t want to get into it.”
Blaine walked over to the other side of the trailer and went about his business. He stripped his shirt off and quickly put on the new one as Richard scoffed.”You’ve been spending too much time with your brother.”
Blaine rolled his eyes and turned quickly on his father. “Yeah, and guess what; it’s the happiest I’ve ever been in this family. Say what you need to say and then get out. Because I’m done with this.”
Richard’s face went from smug to livid immediately. “You will not speak to me like that, Blaine. I let you come out to LA, attempt a career and look what happened? Only two and a half months in and you’re already involved in a scandal. You’re not meant for this life, Blaine. You never were; why do you think I wanted to keep you from--”
“It’s not even true, Dad!” He shot back. “I didn’t do anything, someone framed me. I’m meant to be here, and I’m sorry that you’ve never been able to see that. But don’t pretend that it was concern that kept you from letting me live my dream. For whatever reason, you got some sick enjoyment out of pitting Cooper and I against one another, from making sure that the only thing I got out of life was turning into you. And now you can’t stand it, that I’m not you. That I never will be. And I’m so much-” He didn’t get to finish his sentence as Richard slapped him hard across the face.
He felt his rage come up immediately, as he used the momentum from the slap to propel his fist into his father’s jaw. His father stumbled back as Blaine advanced on him.
“You do not get to do that to me. Ever. Again,” Blaine warned him, his voice dangerously low. “That punch? Only the beginning. You do not touch me. You do not touch Cooper. You don’t get to force Mom to stay at the wayside. Ever. Again. The only reason I’m even remotely not threatening to take Kara away is because past evidence shows that you’d never hurt her and she’d be devastated to lose you. But you listen to me, come for either me, Cooper, or Mom again, I won’t hesitate to take Kara.”
His father answered with a punch of his own, hitting Blaine square in the eye. He growled in anger as the pain went very much ignored. He was done. He wouldn’t stand to be his father’s punching bag any longer. But he knew he had to play it safe. Richard Anderson was a smart man, and Blaine wouldn’t put it past him to put assault charges on him.
“Get. Out,” Blaine spat at him as he grabbed his phone out of his pocket. “One press of a button and you get thrown out and possibly arrested for trespassing, if nothing else. If I’m a disappointment, I can only imagine how that would look in your company’s eyes.”
Richard glared at him for a moment, before Blaine caught the twitch in his eye. In a split second, his father had transformed, putting on the face of someone in deep despair. “I feel like I’m losing everything, son, you can’t just threaten to-”
Blaine cut him off with a glare. “It’s about fifteen years too late to try and sympathize with me. You have three seconds to walk out that door or I’m calling security. And believe me when I say, he doesn’t take kindly to one of his own walking away with a black eye. Especially if it came from their father.”
Richard stared at him for a moment, before his sad demeanor shifted into a wicked grin. “I suppose you can’t blame me for trying. Simmer down, Blainers, I’m going. But I think you and I both know that this isn’t over.”
Blaine watched his movements as Richard gathered his things. “No,” he answered, with venom dripping in his tone. “It’s only just begun.”
He collapsed on the couch as soon as the door closed. His heart was beating fast as the adrenaline coursed through his veins. He sucked in a deep breath of air and held it.
Three minutes. He repeated Scotty’s words in his head, expecting to actually need them once the adrenaline wore off.
But the need never came.
He felt empowered in that moment. Even if done so, so stupidly, he had just stood up to his father for the first time in his life.
He finished changing and walked to the dining cart with his head held high, the red mark just below his eye shining bright for the world to see. It hadn’t quite started to bruise, but he knew it was coming.
He kindly greeted Sue at the cart and asked for a small bag of ice. She gave him a weird look but obliged. He thanked her and walked back to his trailer, sitting back down on the couch.
The only thought in his head being one of hope that the make up crew could fix his face.

“I’m so glad that all of you could make it,” Jack beamed at the group of people gathered in the living room, you included. “This party has been absolutely amazing so far. But..you know what this calls for?”
You and the egos exchanged glances, although deep down you all had a good idea of what he was going to say next. But you silently looked back at the YouTuber, seeing his smile grow wide as he reached into one of the grocery bags.“This calls for eggnog~!” He declared, holding up a glass bottle of the sacred drink triumphantly, before setting it down on the table where there were snacks and other drinks laid out. “So yeah, there it is. Go crazy. It’s Christmas Eve, so as they say.. drink and be merry!”One by one the egos got up to get a glass of eggnog, with the exception of Henrik who ventured to the kitchen to brew some coffee first and have his infamous “Eggnoffee”.However, you stayed on the couch and shot a look at Jack as he sat down next to you, knowing damn well exactly what his intentions were. “You spiked it didn’t you?”“Yep,” he chuckled, “only a little bit, though, so it shouldn’t be too bad.”But oh boy…how wrong he was.……….“I can’t believe no one has spiked zhe eggnog yet..”“Henrik..not even a minute ago you were trying to check my heartbeat by putting that stethoscope to my head….”“Sooooo vhat does zhat mean?”“It means you’re drunk, pal.”“Ohhhhhh.”With a sigh, you shook your head, before glancing back at the group of drunken men in the living room. Jackieboy was telling Chase how the eggnog gave him the ability to “see sounds”, which made the father stare at him in wonder. Meanwhile Marvin and Anti were teleporting around and playing a rather dangerous game of tag as Angus drunkenly narrated the scene. And finally Shawn and Jameson were sitting by the table, having a drinking contest with shot glasses.It seemed those two were the only ones actually able to hold their liquor.Even so, you couldn’t believe that damn Irishman would leave you at the mercy of his lookalikes to get some last minute Christmas gifts. Lord only knows how much longer you could keep your sanity.“I swear I’m gonna kill him….” You muttered so quietly. Under normal circumstances that simple gesture would mean certain death for you, but now it just made Anti’s smile widen. He closed his eyes and rested his cheek on your shoulder. "Ya mind….. doin’ that again?”“…sure. Why not?” You chuckled softly, running your fingers through his hair once more, which elicited a…purring noise?“Anti? Just how much eggnog have you had? I’m curious.”“Hmm…maybe two….or four…one and a half….eh who fuckin’ cares,” he grumbled. “How….about you?”“I didn’t have any,” you told him. “Somebody’s gotta stay sober and watch you guys.”Anti mumbled something else, but before you could ask him what he said, you heard light snores coming from him as he fell asleep.After a few minutes, though, you had to get up, so you carefully tried to get the demon into an upright position. But instead he fell over into Henrik’s lap as soon as you stood up. Thankfully, though, the doctor had already passed out as well and he didn’t even seem to feel the extra weight on him.As you made your way out of the living room, you came across a rather groggy and agitated Robbie, who had a frown on his face and another Sam plushie tucked under his arm. You had almost forgotten that he went to his room, as the music, lights, and festivities overwhelmed his senses a little bit.The poor guy must have woken up when he heard the shouts and laughter of the others.“What’s..with..all the…noise..?” He mumbled, rubbing his eye, although when he looked past you and saw what was happening, he looked confused. “Why are..they..acting..?”“They’re fine, Rob,” you reassured him. “They just…had some drinks that do..silly stuff to their brains.”The zombie blinked slowly, but nodded in slight understanding. “Do..you wanna…?”“Yeah. I just need a break…I feel like I’ve been babysitting toddlers for the past hour.” You rubbed the side of your head. “I swear Jack owes me big time for-”“Heyyyyyy.”Turning around, you saw Marvin standing there with a slight frown on his face. “Where’s Jack? What did you do with him?” He growled lowly.Taking a step back, you quirked an eyebrow at his behavior. Normally the magician wasn’t an angry person…but then again, though, this was the first time you’ve ever seen him drunk. “Marvin. He went out for a little while and left me in charge of-”“Wh-What..? He..He left us?” His previous angered expression faltered into a sad one, although seconds later he snapped as he threw a bolt of bright blue magic at the wall, leaving burn marks on the surface of it.“H-Holy shit..” You quickly put an arm behind you to shield the zombie, worry forming a knot in your stomach. “Marv..just calm dow-”“HE ABANDONED US!!” He screamed, his eyes glowing blue with rage. “I KNEW HE’D GET SICK OF US! I KNEW THAT HE’D NEVER BRING ME BACK! IF…I-IF IT WASN’T FOR THOSE FANS I WOULDN’T FUCKING E-EXIST! I DIDN’T DO ANYTHIN’ WRONG! SO WHY WOULD HE JUST FORGET ABOUT-?!”“Marvin!” You grabbed both of his wrists, gripping them firmly and looking at him in the eye. “He hasn’t abandoned you. He just went down to the store and he’ll come back. I promise.”Almost immediately, Marvin’s eyes reverted to normal, and he looked back at you with tears welling up in them. But before you knew it, he was weeping in your arms.“I-I-I’m sorry, [y/n]..” He sniffled. “…I should’ve…I-I should’ve known h-he’d never do that t-to us…h-he loves us too much…”With a sigh, you wrapped your arms around him, patting his back. ‘So..he has mood swings when he’s drunk…’ You thought.
Looking over his shoulder you noticed the concerned and confused faces of the others, except for Henrik and Anti who were still asleep somehow. You simply smiled and waved them off, reassuring them you had the situation under control.
“Marv..?” Robbie mumbled behind you, worried about his friend. “What’s…wrong?”The magician’s sobs died down when he heard the zombie speak, and he glanced up to look at him with a big smile. “R-Robbie..my dude..c-come here..” Letting go of you, he went to hug him, ruffling his hair. “Ya know..y-you’re my..my greatest creation. I..I couldn’t be a more proud father.” He chuckled. “I love ya so much, Robbie..y-you’ve been a good boy…the best boy! You’re at the…the top of the Nice list! Don’t ever forget that okay?”Robbie blinked in confusion, although he hugged Marvin back and smiled, appreciating the affection he was giving him.You simply chuckled, shaking your head.Maybe Jack’s idea wasn’t so bad after all…although you weren’t sure how you were going to explain the burn mark on the wall to him…

It's been months and she hasn't answered a single god damn text message. I grabbed my keys and I went right over there, if was horrible having the girl that you're completely in love with hate you. I pulled up to her apartment complex and I could see my hands shaking as I pressed the button for the third floor. I wiped my hands on my khaki pants and stepped out of the elevator. I knocked on her door gently, I could hear faint music playing from behind the door. After a few short seconds the door flew open, Y/N had a bright smile on her hands face that quickly faded when she saw me. "What are you doing here?" She asked curiously, I looked past her and I saw the people inside. "I'm sorry I didn't know you were having a party. I just wanted to talk to you and apologize." I explained and she nodded, "I've been on a forgiveness kick and I've actually been meaning to call you. Why don't you come in?" She suggested, I want good in social situations but I needed any reason to be with Y/N. I gave her a small nod and she opened the door even more revealing even more people. Y/N closed the door behind me, I saw a banner hanging up that read 'Congratulations'. "Congratulations on what?" I asked curiously, turning towards her. She seemed almost reluctant to tell me, that was until that idiot I had met previously in her apartment wrapped his arm around her waist. He kissed her cheek, "On our engagement." He stated proudly, you could probably hear the sound of my jaw hitting the floor. Y/N gave me a small smile, "Derek honey why don't you go mingle and I'll show Stuart where the drinks are, yeah?" She suggested, this so called Derek guy kissed her once again but on the lips this time before walking away. "Engagement?" I said in disbelief, Y/N took my hand and led me into her bedroom. "You're gonna marry him?" I asked her, "You're gonna marry that guy?" I asked a bit louder. "Are you fucking kidding me, Y/N?" I asked her. She crossed her arms over her chest, "You don't get to be mad!" She stated. "You wrecked things for us not me!" She reminded me. "I fucked up and I know that. I confess my love for you and you don't feel the same way and I get that. But you're gonna marry him? Do you even love him?" I asked her, my voice getting softer with each word. "I never said I didn't feel the same way for you. I mean come on you saw me in my bedroom and who's name was I moaning?" She asked me. "But I'm with Derek now." She added, "Do you love him?" I asked her. "Of course I do." She said, "Bullshit." I said. "Do you still love me?" I asked her. A shaky breath fell from her lips as she stayed silent, "Fuck it." I said walking over to her, "I'm not losing you again." I stated, cupping her face and smashing my lips against hers. "Stuart" she mumbled against my lips, I pushed her up against the wall. She parted her lips and I took that as an opportunity to slip my tongue in. I had no idea what was coming over me, I was usually a shy awkward guy but when it came to Y/N things were different. I pushed her down onto the bed and I watched her eyes look me up and down, she swallowed hard. "Tell me if you want me to stop." I told her, she shook her head. "Don't stop." She whispered, I immediately took action and I pulled my shirt off, my glasses getting tangled up in them as I did so. I thought screw the glasses I don't need them right now, she sat up and ran her hand up and down my stomach. She placed her lips to my ribs and sucked all over, I could tell she was trying to leave marks. She pulled away and pulled her shirt over her head, along with her bra. She laid back on the bed and I tugged her jeans down, followed by my jeans. We didn't have time to well take our time, we discarded the rest of our clothes and I positioned myself at her entrance. "Oh god." I moaned, when I felt how wet she was. I felt my cock twitch, "Come on hurry up!" She whispered. "What the hell is going on?" I heard a deep voice growl, Derek appeared in the doorway. I was definitely going to get my ass kicked, Y/N swallowed hard before turning around. "What's that on your neck?" She asked him, that's when I saw it. He had a very fresh hickey on display for everyone to see, idiot. His face turned red as his hand shot up to cover it, "Okay everyone I think we've all had a very eventful night but it's time for you all to go." Y/N announced, everyone began whispering to one another before they left. The only ones who were left were Y/N, Derek, and I. "You need to go." She told him, of course he begged for forgiveness but I guess she used it all on me. Y/N finally got him to leave and she turned back to me, a laugh leaving her lips. Obviously she was in shock about the whole evening, "Are you okay?" I asked her, dumb question. "Yeah I am. You just saved me from making the worst mistake of my life." She admitted, "Why did you say yes?" I asked her, my own curiosity getting the better of me. "I thought I could feel the way for him that I feel for you." She told me, "So where does this leave us?" She asked me, my heart skipped when she said 'us' "Well this isn't the way I wanted to do this but I can't think of a better way to answer your question than this." I said, my shaking hand reaching into my pocket. She looked at me, I could see the confusion on her face. I saw the exact moment she put two and two together when I got down on my knee, I pulled the ring out of my pocket. "So Y/N, where does this leave us?" I asked her.

“We tried, your majesty. He only wants to speak to her highness, the princess.” Captain Mace’s face was cast down in disappointment.
“Are you telling me our only shot at getting him to talk is to send my daughter, the crown princess, in a room with a murderer?” The king inquired, not pleased with the news brought by his royal guard.
“Father, I told you before, he thinks I’m someone he used to know, someone he trusts.”
Her father clenched his jaw tightly and furrowed his brows. Daisy saw in his eyes the inner turmoil happening inside his brain, weighing the pros and cons of every choice that laid before him. It wasn’t like he had many.
“Fine. I trust you, flower, I trust you.” He repeated to assure himself. She could see he had difficulties with letting her go, but she had changed.
“I’ll be careful,” she looked behind her where Robbie stood stoically, “Robbie could come with me.”
He glanced up, clearly not expecting her proposal. The neutral expression on his face softened and made way for an unreadable one. Daisy tilted her head down, then she turned back to her father. The King’s eyes darted from the prince to the princess and back again, but in the end he nodded relentingly.
As soon as her father agreed, Daisy whirled around towards the door. She passed by Robbie, brushing her fingers against his knuckles, exposed through holes in his leather gloves, to tell him to follow. He froze when a shiver passed through him, the hairs on his skin on end. He quickly recomposed himself, hoping no one had noticed the way he had reacted from a simple touch. In the back of his mind he heard someone laughing at him.
‘A single touch has you reacting like that?’ The taunting laugh continued, but it slowly turned into more of a hiss. ‘Get a hold of yourself!’
Robbie snapped back to his surroundings, the voice gone like it wasn’t even there to begin with. He turned towards Daisy, who was waiting patiently at the door, her eyes, sparkling with curiosity, glued on him. He took a deep breath, bowed one last time to the King and disappeared through the door.
He knew they were headed to the dungeons, but Robbie had no idea where they were. Daisy, on the other hand, knew exactly where she was going. Although Captain Mace had accompanied them to show them the way, he too trailed behind the princess. They went through small hallways, passed different courtyards, until they arrived at a large wooden door, guarded by a dozen guards, all stony faced.
“Are those two really that dangerous?” Robbie asked, upon seeing the heavily armoured men.
“We don’t know if someone would want to break them out,” Captain Mace answered.
Robbie had no idea where they were, after winding their way into this labyrinth of a palace, he had completely lost orientation. But after looking around, he noticed there weren’t any windows in this room and he had definitely felt the drop of temperature. This chamber had to be located in the center of the palace, meaning this was probably the only way in, hence the guards.
“And they aren’t the only ones captive in there,” Mace added, without explanation. He walked to the door, the other guards recognising him immediately and letting him through. Two of them pulled at a wheel, lifting two beams blocking the wooden door. When the beams were up, Mace pushed the doors open with both hands.
“Welcome to the vaults, your highnesses,” he said as he entered the dark hallway, dimly lit by flickering torches hung on the walls. The smell of moisture and mold flooded the chamber they were in. Robbie and Daisy’s heads turned on instinct to each other. Daisy shrugged. Robbie answered with a quirk of the lips. Together they followed Captain Mace into the dungeons.
“Skye,” the man said breathlessly, “You came.”
Robbie inched closer to Daisy’s back, through his jacket and her dress, she could feel the heat radiate from his body, contrasting with the cold and dampness from the dungeons. Goosebumps appeared on her skin, but the low light made it near impossible to see.
“You said you’d help me,” she started. “So help me.”
“I’ll help you,” the man confirmed, his gaze going from Mace to Robbie then back to her, “only you.”
“I’m afraid we can’t do that,” Captain Mace said angrily.
“Then I’m afraid I can’t help you.”
“Maybe not in a gentle way. There are other ways.” Robbie snarled from behind Daisy, his breath tickling her neck.
“You can try. You won’t get anything out of me.”
Daisy stepped closer to the bars. The man’s eyes followed her, his face softening at the movement. She turned her head to Mace and Robbie.
“I can talk to him alone. I’m safe. He can’t do anything to me.”
The two men looked at each other and Robbie nodded slowly. Daisy walked over to Mace, reassuring him that everything would be fine and as soon as she would have information, she’d return upstairs. Robbie took advantage of the moment to prowl closer to the cell, like a cat inching closer to a mouse.
“If you hurt her,” he whispered, “I will bring all hell loose on you. I swear, I will hurt you so badly, you’d wish death would whisk you away.”
The man only smiled in response. Daisy walked back over to the cell, ignorant of the threat Robbie had just made. Robbie took one last look at the captive and then disappeared behind a corner with Captain Mace. When the footsteps were too far to hear, Daisy spoke up.
“What is your name?”
“Ward. Grant Ward.”
“Well, Grant Ward, what can you tell us about Hydra?”
“How have you been, Skye?” He ignored her question completely.
“That wasn’t an answer.”
Ward crept closer to the bars. “I’ve missed you.”
“You said you could help.” She remained rooted to her spot. Frozen in fear or stoic despite it, she couldn’t tell.
“I can.” He stood still, his face showing countless emotions of which she could place none.
“What can you tell me about Hydra?”
“We were going to elope together, you remember? Garrett didn’t approve and then you left.”
“Garrett,” Daisy would never forget that name. “Where is he?”
“He’s in our camp. He’s not well, his leg’s infecting again.”
“He’s hurt?”
“Same old wound.”
“Where is your camp?”
“Next to Lake Maveth, off course. The entrance is hidden inside a cave, but it is marked with three stones pushed into the ground before you enter.”
“Thank you.” Daisy nodded sternly, her lips in a thin line. Something about this man unnerved her. She turned to walk away, leaving him behind her, when he spoke up.
“Skye.” It came out as a plea, and Daisy couldn’t help but turn around.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.”
Though the light was low, Daisy saw something flicker in his eyes akin to sadness, but not quite. There was also something malicious in him, like he had gone mad.
“What happened?” She heard herself ask before realising she had started another conversation.
“You died. Because of me.” He casted his eyes down. “Garrett couldn’t have me unfocused.”
“He killed her?”
He nodded, like a child would do on the verge of tears. She felt strange, watching him. She had seen him a day ago killing everyone on his path, but now she was staring at a pathetic shell of a man. He was deranged, Daisy could tell that much. All of a sudden, a need to leave this place overcame her, like if she stayed too long down here with him, she too would go mad. She turned around without saying a word and left Ward screaming a dead girl’s name.
