It’s very probably that if you are a big fan of Final Fantasy saga, the name of Yoshitaka Amano sounds familiar to you, but if you don't know him, let me tell you a little about this great artist, of whom I consider myself a great fan.

Yoshitaka Amano (天野喜孝) is a Japanese visual artist, character designer, illustrator, a scenic designer for theatre and film, and a costume designer, throughout his career we can highlight the following works: Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D, Speed Racer, Gatchaman, Casshan, Guin Saga, which are the most important and recognized of his entire career.

Es muy probable que si eres un gran fan de saga Final Fantasy el nombre de Yoshitaka Amano te suene familiar, pero si no lo conoces, déjame hablarte un poco de este gran artista, del cual me considero una gran fan.

Yoshitaka Amano ( 天野嘉孝) es un artista, diseñador de personajes, de vestuario y teatro; ilustrador y escenografo japonés. A lo largo de su trayectoria podemos destacar a la saga Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D, Speed Racer, Gatchaman, Casshan, Guin Saga, entre otros; los cuales, son algunos de sus trabajos más importantes y reconocidos.

The art of Yoshitaka Amano is very special to me in many ways, it goes beyond having given life to many of my favorite characters from the Final Fantasy saga, such as Cecil or Terra.

When I was a little younger I began to be interested in the art that went behind a video game, in one way or another as a fan of Final fantasy I ended up encountering the art of Yoshitaka Amano, more than love at first sight I made an immediate connection with his art for only one reason…his art looks like my dreams, yes, the dreams I have when I sleep, all those colors, textures and level of detail in his works, it was as if he had entered my mind and said “I have I have seen your dreams and I have painted them” that is why his art is important to me.

El arte se Yoshitaka Amano es muy especial para mi de muchas maneras, va más allá de haberle dado vida a muchos de mis personajes favoritos de la saga Final Fantasy como lo son Cecil o Terra.

Cuando yo era un poco más joven comencé a interesarme por el arte que iba detrás de un videojuego, de alguna u otra forma como Fan de Final fantasy termine encontrándome con el arte de Yoshitaka Amano, más que amor a primeras vista hice una conexión inmediata con su arte por una sola razón…su arte se ve como mis sueños, sí, los sueños que tengo cuando duermo, todos esos colores, texturas y nivel de detalle en sus obras, era como si el hubiera entrado en mi mente y dijera “he visto tus sueños y los he pintado” es por ello que su arte para mi es importante.

His style is unmistakable, when I saw the leaks that morning, and saw the loading screen, I immediately said "This is the work of Mr. Yoshitaka Amano, it couldn't have been done by someone else" and I just went to investigate to check that he was correct.

They might say that every what's in-game loading screen made by an artist is some kind of collaboration between the artist and Fortnite, and that's right, but as I have said, for me Yoshitaka Amano is special in addition to his great career and his importance in the artistic field, such as cinema, painting, theater and video games.

Going back to the collaboration with Fortnite, It not only presented us with a sublime loading screen but also with gorgeous skin that has all the vibe of Yoshitaka's style, which definitely stands out from the rest with her unique design, and that vibrant red that contrasts with the pale skin of the character, also look at that face, I love it!

Su estilo es inconfundible, cuando vi las filtraciones esa mañana, y vi la pantalla de carga inmediatamente dije “Esto es obra del señor Yoshitaka Amano, no pudo haberlo hecho alguien más” y solo me metí a investigar para comprobar que estaba en lo correcto.

Puede que digan que cada pantalla de carga qué hay en el juego hecha por un artista es una especie de colaboración entre el artista y Fortnite, y eso es correcto pero como he dicho para mi Yoshitaka Amano es especial además de su gran trayectoria e importancia en el apartado artístico como lo es el cine, el teatro, la pintura y del gamining.

Regresando a la colaboración con Fortnite, no solo nos trajo una sublime pantalla de carga si no que también con una skin preciosa que tiene todo el vibe del estilo de Yoshitaka, que definitivamente resalta del resto con su diseño único, y ese rojo vibrante que contrasta con la piel pálida del personaje, además miren ese rostro, ¡me encanta!.

At some point I came to imagine what a collaboration between Fortnite & Yoshitaka Amano would look like? considering how many iconic characters that man has created, but I didn't think I'd get to see him and I'm really grateful for this collaboration. I think no one is as happy as me for this.

En algún punto llegue a imaginar ¿Cómo se vería una colaboración entre Fortnite con Yoshitaka Amano? tomando en cuenta la cantidad de personajes icónicos que ese hombre ha creado, pero no creí llegar a verlo y estoy realmente muy agradecida por esta colaboración. Creo nadie esta tan feliz como yo por esto.

My opinion of the adaptation

The skin is so beautiful, I love it and absolutely she has all the vibe of a Yoshitaka Amano´s design, but, if we make a comparison between the design that we see on the loading screen and the adaptation that was made as a Fortnite skin, I have a couple of observations:

►The first: The length of the hair does not seem to be correct, it also has a kind of reddish reflections that could easily be taken advantage of and used to make reactive skin

►Second: the sleeve that you can see in the design does not match the final result, it seems to have a kind of red lace that the Fortnite guys decide to omit, also on his hand he seems to have a ring that was completely omitted.

Third: the long socks, this one probably doesn't count at all since it could be the interpretation of the reflection of the clothes in the light but it may not and that the color really is white. So this wouldn't be so much of a problem but I still wanted to mention it.

Mi opinión sobre la adaptación:

La skin es hermosa y tiene todo el vibe de un diseño de Yoshitaka Amano, pero, si hacemos una comparación entre diseño que vemos en la pantalla de carga y adaptación que se hizo como skin de Fortnite tengo un par de observaciones:

La primera: El largo del cabello no parece ser el correcto, además tiene una especie de reflejos rojizos que fácilmente pudieron aprovecharse y usarse para hacer reactiva a la skin

Segundo: la manga se que puede ver en el diseño no coincide con la del resultado final, parece tener una especie de encaje rojo que los de Fortnite decidieron omitir. Además en la mano parece llevar un anillo que se omitió por completo.

Tercero: los calcetines largos: este es probable que no cuente del todo ya que podría ser la interpretación del reflejo de la ropa en la luz pero puede que no y que realmente el color realmente sea blanco. Así que este no seria tanto un problema pero de igual forma quería mencionarlo.

Do not take this last as hate, you know that I am super observant and it is only a comparison.

This last is just my personal opinion: I think that if I designed a skin for Fortnite, I would just like them to respect even the smallest detail. And as a fan I would have liked to see that reflected here. But it’s ok, with the collaboration is more than enough to make me happy.

Conclusion It's a collaboration that surely no one expected, especially because I follow Yoshitaka Amano on his social media and he never mention anything about it, but it made me very happy that it came, also I think that not many people will know that this is a collaboration, so I hope this post has served as a small introduction to this wonderful and talented artist.

Esto ultimo es solo mi opinión personal: creo que si yo diseñara una skin para Fortnite, a mi me gustaría que respetaran hasta el mas mínimo detalle. Y como fan me hubiese gustado ver eso reflejado aquí. Pero esta bien, con la colaboración es más que suficiente para hacerme feliz.

Conclusión

Es una colaboración que seguramente nadie esperaba, en especial porque sigo a Yoshitaka Amano en sus redes sociales y nunca menciono nada al respecto, pero me hizo muy feliz que llegara, además creo que no muchas personas van a saber que esta es una colaboración, así que espero que este post les haya servido como una pequeña introducción a este maravilloso y talentoso artista.

Bleach Review

I am moving some of my Twitter threads over to Tumblr as well. This is one of them.

First of all, Bleach is cool, alright. It's got that drip. It has a bit of an edgier style to it, the designs are beautiful and stylish, and Kubo is generally just very skilled with the pen (character art is detailed, and the battles are easy to read and striking).

This will be done in a very stream of consciousness, flowing, just getting it all down in one go kind of manner, so excuse me if this isn't very structured or coherent.

And that's really, I feel, what a battle shonen series should be at its core. It should be fun to read. And then, you know, even if the story isn't anything super innovative, I'm entertained to the degree that I wouldn't be with a non-battle shonen series of the same quality.I wanted to tackle Bleach here, in a kind of, arc to arc manner.

Which I might still get to, just writing what's coming to mind after all lol, but either way, I wanted to start with just the overall writing, and I feel like I need to bring up Ichigo to highlight.

Let me just start off by saying that I like Ichigo plenty. On just a surface level, I find him to be very refreshing and endearing. The latter compliment fits a lot of the main cast tbh, but especially Ichigo.

It makes the slice-of-life moments we get with them, really enjoyable tbh, more so than I expected them to be based on other shonen I've read, that shall remain nameless for my own sake. Yeah, lovely kid that I really enjoy following along with.

That said, more could've been done, and this applies to the series as a whole. It has a lot of cool concepts, and a lot of storytelling potential, that Kubo often just glosses over, and from my speculation alone, partly because he's just not a good enough writer, and based on interviews, he just has his priorities mixed up sometimes. Let's go back to Ichigo, to illustrate this point. When I was reading Bleach, earlier in the story, I got the impression that Ichigo ties his self-worth to his strength, his ability to protect, which would root back to his childhood trauma, his inability to save his own mother. And that's his main character flaw, getting over that self-destructive mindset. That's great, interesting stuff that Kubo could do there, a lot of potential.

Except, you know, I eventually realized, that's not the case. I was looking too deep into it, cause Kubo gets into any of that. Ichigo's just depressed after losing, cause that's what shonen protagonists are like.

Kubo doesn't explicitly tie this to his trauma, he doesn't make any real connection between it, it's just explored as it normally would've been. Kubo has the elements to do something more here, but he doesn't commit.

Another example of this would be, Aizen. Who I do think is very effective in a presence/personality kind of aspect, but not so much characterization-wise. There have been, small hints, about him in relation to the theme of bonds.

Viewing everything from a hierarchical point of view, wanting to be at the top, of being unable to make personal relationships with other people, and resenting them for the mere thought of emotional investment in others, as he refuses to lower himself to such weakness.

But, this. This is all very barebones, I even have trouble finding panels that explore most of this, cause a lot of it is speculation and headcanon characterization, so to speak, from the breadcrumbs that Kubo has given us.

It's why Ichigo's final remark about Aizen may be having subconsciously lost on purpose because he envied normal bonds comes off as so weak. Because Kubo almost never really focuses on it, we don't get introspection, and we don't get an arc exploring any of it.

And right at the end, he mentioned something about Reio, the soul king, but we got like one sentence about that, and nothing more.

So, when I talk about their characterization like that, it just comes off to me as looking too deep into it, reaching, because the writing is just not that deep.

Which is fine, because Bleach doesn't have to be super deep. It's still a very effective battle shounen overall. Kubo just isn't as interested in the big picture, as I am.

Another example would be Kubo playing around with what hollows and their masks represent metaphorically. He does this a lot in the first arc, which allows him to touch on some heavier topics in a pretty effective manner.

Hollows wear their masks to shield themselves from the outside world. From the fear of having the living people recognizing what they've become, of knowing the evil they've committed. Fear of having connections with other people, hurting them, and being hurt.

It's also why the Arrancars have started to remove their masks, cause they're starting to lose that fear under Aizen's rule, who they don't serve because he's the strongest, but because he's fearless.

But then, that metaphorical aspect just kind of stops there. This is a bit of a shame, cause the Visored people are introduced, for example, people who can choose when to put on their hollow masks. Would've been interesting to explore what Kubo thinks of that metaphorically.

This, simplicity, this not going as far as he could've, carries over into most deeper aspects of the story. There should be a lot more moral ambiguity behind Kisuke's actions (putting the Hogyouku in Rukia for example). But because our moral compass is Ichigo, a 15 year old boy who doesn't really care about that kind of stuff, we never really dig into it. There was also the quincy/soul reaper conflict, where there should've been more moral ambiguity. I mean, the whole deal between them was that they disagreed on how to take care of hollows, and the quincies were exterminated because of that. This was an issue that Bleach glossed over even back in the first arc when we meet Uryu, cause it tried to like grossly have his grandad (a Quincy) explain how the soul reapers were justified in their genocide. So, the series just kind of ends up presenting the soul reapers as the good guys and the qunicies as the not good guys, when there are deeper, more complicated aspects to dig into here. But, Bleach doesn't dig into that. I've been told that the novels explore this? Which is great. I will get to them, but, Kubo apparently didn't want to get into that, or dig too much into Yhwach's characterization/motive, cause it'd distract from Ichigo, who he wanted to focus on, which is stupid.

That's kind of that, about that. Uhm, shortly, trying to wrap this up now. Yeah, I've touched upon the first arc already, which I think is pretty effective overall, altho it's the arc I think the least about (could change when it's had time to sit with me).

The Soul Society arc is pretty damn good. Lots of flair, lot of personality. I mean, there's not a lot of interesting praise to dig into here, I feel, but I think it's pretty fucking solid.

There's some, there's a pretty annoying power creep, and some off-hand one-time abilities that get them out of trouble (consistent issue with the series), but other than that, you know, I'm cool with it. The Aizen twist (spoilers lol), is very well done.

The Arrancar arc is long. There are some dropped plot lines (like Orihime planning to destroy the Hogyouku, or Tatsuki having any sort of significant role), and it definitely does recycle some ideas, and some character archetypes from the previous arc that are less interesting here, but honestly, I think I overall liked the Espadas more here than the captains in the Soul Society arc, as antagonists. The Espadas were more visually distinct, and I felt that the better ones (Grimjoww and Ulquiorra) had more interesting characterization and dynamics. Already talked about Aizen, but I think he works super well as a force of nature kind of antagonist, so cool with him.

Now, the Fullbring arc, is by far the best arc. I love getting some more slice-of-life goodness, it has a pretty fantastic twist and goes deeper with its character exploration than any other arc.

Chad and Orihime both get moments to shine. Ginjo is great, super unpredictable, and works as lovely contrast. Tsukishima's ability is some of the most creative shit ever and his relationship to Ginjo (and the rest of the Fullbringers) actually got me emotional.

You know, it's the Phantom Troupe type beat, lost souls finding a family with each other. That just hits.

And Ichigo, is at his best. Ichigo has always been about wanting to protect his loved ones, so giving that up to defeat Aizen was a huge deal. That was him giving up his shonen protagonist goal, basically. For over a year, he's powerless, and then Ginjo gives him a way to get them back. He trains and trains, to be able to protect his friends again. And as he does this, his family and friends turn on him.

The only ally he has left is Ginjo, who betrays him at his lowest moment and takes his power, what he needed the most. And it just breaks him, he cries. For the first time, I think even, at least as an adult.

It's just an incredibly strong character moment and gives Ginjo and Tsukishima, who have gone to such lengths to create this personally designed hell to fuck him up, so much oomph. AND RUKIA AAHHH. It's great, best arc.

The Thousand-Year Blood War arc is messy. It has a lot of sudden abilities (several having been retconned), many fights (several that go on for too long which would've hell weekly), and besides Ichigo's backstory and his resolution with his swords, the series never gets into the moral ambiguity or characterization it should've. Yhwach is quite bland, for example. But, you know, it's still a mostly decent battle shonen arc, I'm quite tolerant to asspulls and stuff like that.

It's a light 7 for me, so it's not a really good arc, but I did enjoy it for the most part. So, you know, didn't ruin the series for me or anything. Just not great, but tolerable fun. The last two chapters are pretty bad tho. I don't have an issue with the ships, just, rushed, deus ex machina, unanswered questions, and just pretty uninteresting.

But yeah, I feel like I wanna stop here. I had fun with Bleach. The inevitable Naruto comparison will be brought up, so let me just get it out of the way. I like Naruto as a whole more. It's a solid score higher. I had more fundamental issues with Naruto, so Bleach was more consistently enjoyable, but as a whole, Naruto still did deeper and more interesting things imo. So, there's that. But yeah, pretty fun series. I enjoyed Bleach. I'll be watching the filler movies sometime, and ofc the upcoming anime (which if it doesn't adapt the novels, I'll have to read them then). Yup, that's it. Naruto during 2021. Bleach during 2022. So, I guess One Piece for 2023?

Anyways these are super cute and I’m so pleased and there’s even a pair of socks that will match my underwear. Not that anyone would (probably?) know. Well y'all will but you won’t really know when they match and when they don’t. There’s the space ones, polka dot, and then the skulls! Which glow in the dark 😀 I mean how could I not get that

Story time!

:O so many new followers!

Thank you so much guys <3 I know I only post here and there when the same old Gehrman discourse arises, and I know you're here for the memes but I'd like to take this as an opportunity to say something I've been wanting to share for a while!

Since I've opened this blog lots of things have changed in my life and unsurprisingly, Bloodborne was a big part of it. It's the only game I've ever played that could even come close to dethrone my personal favorite of all time (which is Final Fantasy IX, in case you're curious :D fantastic game) and thanks to it I met many incredible people that I am proud and honored to call my friends. I'm playing Elden Ring with them at the moment and we're having a blast.

Warm and fuzzy feels aside, I'd like to spare a few words about what this blog ment for me when it came to my artistic career. If I go back and look at the art I posted here, there are a lot of pieces I'm still quite proud of and others that look like complete trash XD but it allowed me to have an extra outlet beside my own personal project where to experiment with character design and my own style. I have started and abandoned a bunch of Bloodborne comics and re-designed from scratch characters like Rom, Micolash, Ludwig etc. which was an interesting challenge and something I really enjoyed doing.

My style is constantly changing and evolving but I feel a lot more confident with it now than 7 years ago. Ironically, I owe a lot to Gehrman, Maria & co. for helping me become a better artist. I know that many FromSoftware fans can relate to this in a way or another because the stories of people who found refuge and escapism in the twisted worlds created by Miyazaki are countless.

Since the beginning of the year, I have officially startet to work for an academy of visual and game developing here in Italy for their courses of concept art and character design and I've been meeting lots of students from different classes.

It almost brought tears to my eyes to hear how many of them love Bloodborne to bits because I truly felt like things had come full circle.

Don't let your dreams be memes guys! Bloodborne was an exceptional character design training ground (well, one of the many I was working on!) and now I get to teach character design in a professional environment.

And people who said drawing problematique ship art was a waste of time :P

Why do you dislike the “vaults are experiments” thing? You e mentioned that you don’t but idk that you’ve ever said why.

tl;dr fallout 1 supports a read that vaults were scary and sad on their own because they are tombs where people double down on The American Way in an environment that cannot rely on outsourced/hidden slave labor, & their eventual collapse was inevitable because they were the definition of an unsustainable society

here's a horror story, what if ten thousand libertarians had to live in a totalitarian bunker for decades. the narratives of profound capitalist/authoritarian cruelty you could weave in that context could be incredible and meaningful but now that's never going to be what vaults are.

and that's still a plausible read but it's 100% impossible to discuss in fandom spaces because Le Vaults Were Never MENT To SAVE NE1.... 😳😳😳😳😳 and because the series forgot to ever actually use vault-tec to criticize capitalism past simpsons-style "marketing is bad" faux-countercultural snark

as i progressively lose my mind i've been entertaining a read where the experiments were designed to maximize suffering because the lunar order think qualtoth feeds on energy released by human despair. it would explain why they invested so heavily in the apocalypse and why the torture was so cartoonish, but it's the sort of thing that overlaps with real alien/govt conspiracy in a way that's Neat but potentially extremely loaded

Brian may x reader : finding real love

Notes: reader is a dress maker for people of high status in London she even makes dresses for queen Victoria herself. one day brian may and his fiance come in to get her a dress for a upcoming ball. Unfortanetly brian isnt in a very loving relationship with his soon to be wife for she's very controling and some times straight up mean and abusive. They are in an aranged mariage. Reader and brian fall in love.

(Late) Victorian au (1880s no exact year). Catherine Green is a random name i chose for the wife. I hope you guys enjoy reading.

Late victorian era, London

In the center of London was a small shop but not just any shop, it was a dress shop called y/l/n Splendour Dress and co.

It wasn't a verry big establisment but it was really special, for even queen victoria herself had comissioned dresses here, only the people of high sosity could afort these dresses.

A carriage pulled up infront of the shop, a few seconds later the bell went of to sigal someone has entered, a man and a woman walked in.

The man was pretty tall and had dark curly hair he also wore a suit (he doesn't wear a hat) the man was very handsome. The woman had blond hair and wore a elegant hat her green eyes were fierce and angry while the man his eyes were hazel and kind.

A woman came from the back about (your age) and stood behind the counter "good afternoon sir and madam how can i help you?"

"I would Like to comission a dress for my fiance"

"Alright any thing spesific, a tea gown, an walking suit, or a day dress

The woman cut her off with an angry tone "no nothing like that im here to comission a ball gown"

"Now calm down Catherine, im verry sorry about that"

"Oh don't worry its alright sir"

"May Brian may and Catherine Green"

"Ah alright mr may and missed Green" please do follow me so that i can sketch some ideas out and so that we could chose the fabric"

"Lead the way madam"

They came across an other woman in the hall "Oh Alice could you perhaps boil some water so that we can have some tea?"

"Yes of course y/n it be ready in a few"

"Thank you after you are done you can take a break" they walked further and came to a room "please do sit down , first we can chose the fabric then we can sketch a design"

"I want my dress to be red and black they are my favorite colors" she smirked

"My darling are you sure of that i mean its a ball after al you it would be beter if - " Brian was caught of

"No absolutly not i want my dress to be red and black" she folded her arms

"Alright darling as you wish"

"I want the black fabric to be made of embroyderd silk and the red fabric made of cotton."

"With or without a train madam"

"Without"

"alright, anything els?"

"Yes i want black lace on the sleeves and red little bows made of silk there as wel"

"Alright madam, is it good that we decide up on a design of the dress now?"

"Yes go ahead"

"About the bodice and the sleeves what lengt would you like them?"

"Im sorry to interupt but here is the tea"

"Ah thank you Alice, you may go take a break now" Alice walked out the room again and closed the door "where were we? Ah yes the bodice and sleeves"

"I want the sleeves at elbow lenght and the bodice low so that it shows off my figure"

"Ah Alright, what about the skirt?"

"I want the under skirt to be a flounced underskirt and the under side of the dress to be made of the red fabric with silk ribons, at the front of the dress i want black lace going down. And the over skirt i want that to be the same fabric as the bodice."

"Alright madam" y/n looked at the sketch in front of her "is this what you have in mind?"

"Yes a hundred precent "

"Alright madam i wil ask my employees to look for the fabrics we would need"

Mr may who had been listening and drinking his tea the whole time spoke up "how long will it take to make?"

About 3 months sir if everything goes as planned"

"Wonderfull you hear that darling"

"Oh yes fantastic, make sure the dress is done by then because in 3 months there will be a ball at Buckingham palace and i want to look absolutly perfect"

"Yes of course miss we will try to get it finished by then"

"Good, thil next time" Catherine stood up And walked out the room

Brian did as well and held out his hand to y/n "Thank you so mutch for your time miss y/n, please you must excuse my fiance for being so rude"

"Its alright mr may no problem at al, tell me is your relationship a aranged one?"

So y/n did that and grabed al the dresses and tried them on, everything was exactly her size

About a few hours later the dress has been looked at, Alice had put y/n her hair up in a fancy evening style and added some hair accessoires.

"so how do i look?"

"Like a real princes oh before you forget these come with the dress" she held out a box y/n opend it inside were a pair of earings a necklace and tiara and a fancy hand fan

"Oh these are wonderfull" she put the necklace around her neck and put the earings in

"These were also met for the baroness" Alice placed the tiara on her head "you have to leave now a carriage is waiting"

"Alright, are you sure you can manage?"

"Don't worry to mutch it be alright me and Mary can manage just fine

"Alright" y/n put her evening coat on and picked up the train of her dress "its going to be late"

"I know dear now go and have a lovely evening"

"I will thank you for the help"y/n walked out of the back door trought the garden out of the gate, she climed in the cariage and sat down. The cariage went on its way to the palace. About 30 minuts later she arived and stept out die left her coat in the carriage. Y/n walked inside the palace up to the grand staircase to the ball room.

Music could already be heared when she walked up the staircase and once she arived the music was mutch louder.

Once y/n stept in to the ballroom a lot of people looked at her wondering who this beautyfull woman was dressed in fine fabrics and jewels.

"Miss y/l/n is that you oh how wonderfull to see you here you look extraordinary"

Y/n turned around at the mention of her name "sir Mercury its so great to see you, wearing my wonderfull suit i see" she smiled

"Oh yes its absolutly wonderfull my dear " he kissed her on the cheek "tell me why are you here?"

"Ah i see, if i remember corectly he was talking with sir taylor near the table overthere"

"I have to go now my dear sir deacon needs my assistance"

Y/n smiled at him and walked to the table where sir may was indeed talking to sir taylor. Next to sir may stood miss Green, the was clinging to his arm. He looked a bit anoyed. "Sir may"

brian turned around "ah miss y/l/n so great to see you" he shook off Catherine and walked to her and softly grabed her hand "sir taylor this is y/n y/l/n the seamstress, she makes fabouls dresses, coats, shoes and suits"

"Nice to meet you miss" he said in a flirting tone, sir taylor grabed her gloved hand and put a kiss on it

"Like wise sir taylor" she smiled softly and put her hand to the side. Y/n could feel somone glaring at her when she turned around and came face to face with Catherine. " Is everything alright miss Green? "

"Yes everything is perfectly fine miss y/l/n" she said with an snarky tone.

Y/n looked down at the ground, sir taylor ofered her his hand "would you like to dance miss"

She looked up "Of course" she grabed his hand and they both walked on to the ball room floor

"Who?"

"Miss green, sir may deserves better" said Roger while they both danced across the floor.

"Yes he does, they arnt the perfect fit for echoter Brian deserves somone who's kind"

"Look its probably not my place but you really should break of the arrangement Brian"

"Why?"

"She really doesn't deserve you brian she doesn't love you she will make you feel misereble"

"BRIAN WHAT IS THIS!!??" They both turned around to an angry Catherine running at them, they both stood up And Brian stood in between y/n and Catherine.

"I do because i am the hire of the family titel and you are not this is oficialy over"

She looked from Brian to y/n " You did this you took him from me!"

"No she din't i simply took love instead of money thats all"

I forgot what I was calling the series on zanpakutou names...

...but this one’s been sitting in drafts for a while.

Yamamoto[山本]: Mountain + Root, meaning the “Foot of [a] mountain”

Genryuusai[元柳斎]: BeginningTime/Original + WillowTree + Holy/Pure

Shigekuni[重國]: Chief/Main/Important + Country/Nation

“Ancient Holy Willow, from the Mountain base, of the Chief Nation”

I did this once before going over character names specifically, but I figured it was worth repeating: The personal name Genryuusai is a direct play on his character design; the old kungfu master style eyebrows mirroring the hanging leaves of a weeping willow. The family name is straight forward and locational, but combined with the given name paints a little picture of a tree at the foot of a mountain.

And the 3rd name(?) seems to be like an epithet more than a name; he is Yamamoto Genryuusai “of the Chief Nation,” presumably referring to Soul Society itself as said nation. This becomes more meaningful once we learn that he is the leader of the original Gotei 13, before they were a military organization, and when they were just a gang of 13 powerful shinigami. It seems to imply that he’s not just a chief representative of Soul Society, he’s so named because he helped found Soul Society.

Ryuujin[流刃]: School/Style/Way + Sword

Jyakka[若火]: Young/New/Premature + Fire

“Sword Style, Young Fire“

The irony of course being that Yamamoto is old as dirt, but his sword -the reflection of his innermost self- is explicitly youthful.

And then there’s his bankai,

Zanka no Tachi[残火の太刀]: Remain(s) + Fire + Thick + Sword

Zanka[残火]: “Embers”

Tachi[太刀]: a “tachi” is a specific kind of sword, often compared to the western Long Sword

“Tachi of [the] Ember(s)”

Most Bankai don’t really change names, they add extra titles to the shikai name. But a few have wordplay that break that trend, and this is one of them...

Yamamoto’s here swaps “young fire” for “fire remains,” jumping from the start point of a fire to the end point of one. The only shared kanji being ka[火] for “fire.” It also changes out the “sword style” as subject, for a singular sword. Although, chi[刀] is the same root kanji in [刃] meaning “sword”/”blade” which was an obviously intentional choice to further the parallel between names. But because they’re pronounced totally differently, without the kanji present, it doesn’t come across in an English translation at all.

Higashi, Kyokujitsujin["東": 旭日刃]: “East,” RisingSun + Blade

[旭日]: Rising + Sun, not that this translates any differently, but it is the term for THE Japanese Rising Sun symbol, and not just the literal two words in proximity. So while there's the obvious "sun rise" and "East" tied together, it's also got a distinct nationalist flare to it.

“Rising Sun Blade”

This one’s really pretty straight forward, but it plays into the overarching theme...

Nishi, Zanjitsu Gokui["西": 残日獄衣]: “West,” Remainder + Day + PrisonUniform

Gokui[獄衣]: Prison/Jail + Clothes, the term for a “Prison Uniform”

“[The] Day(s) that are Left Prison Uniform”

For some baffling reason the Viz translation for this was “Sunset Hell Robe” which is just wildly off base. This seems evocative of prisoner watching the sun fall on the last day of a sentence; but whether that’s the last day before release or the last day before execution, isn't by itself clear. Given the rest of the names here, though, I assume execution.

I actually feel like this is a scene from an old jidaigeki film but I can’t remember which... (it was the plot of an episode of Samurai Champloo, and a random plot for a dungeon in Wild Arms 5, so it might just be a general trope, but I’m positive there’s a singular core film it references. Is it Hashire! Melos I’m thinking of? I thought I remembered it being a Japanese period piece though...)

Minami, Kaka Juumanokushi Daisoujin["南": 火火十万億死大葬陣]: “South,” FireSquad + TenTrillion + Death(s) + Big + Funeral + Formation/(military)Camp

English translation Viz went with was “Trillion Flame Great Corpse Formation” which, I can sort of see the logic in trying to make sense of an otherwise really tricky collection of kanji, but is once again pretty far off base...

So, I was super confused by why he’d used the construction kaka[火火] which is just “fire” twice, when A) that’s not any kind of a special compound word, and B) [炎] is the kanji for “blaze”/”flame” and the attack name was written vertically, which seems to clearly be a kind of word play here, but I couldn’t figure out what the other side of it was. But I think I figured it out...

The Ritsuryou was the Chinese influenced law system in Japan during the 700s, and it borrowed a lot of Confucian bureaucratic systems, which included elaborate systems of measurement for uniform inventory of people and assets, many of which are no longer in use. One such unit of measurement is a ka[火] which is a military squad consisting of 10 soldiers, and is in fact a homonym with ka[火] which just means “fire.”

kaka[火火]: Fire + (military)Squad

Juu-mon-oku-shi[十万億]: 10 + 10thousand + 100million, which is 10,000,000,000,000(ten trillion)

Another little aside, but Japanese has different major units than English does. juu[十]:10, hyaku[百]:100, chi[千]: 1,000 all line up with English pretty simply in multiples of 10, but then mon[万]: 10,000 has its own designation rather than the compound of "ten + thousand;"

What we call "hundred thousand(s) are written juu-mon[十万]: "10 × 10,000"; and "million" is actually a compound, written as hyaku-mon[百万]: "100 × 10,000" instead of getting its own unit;

oku[億]: is the unit for "100,000,000"/"hundred million(s)" like it's being used here; and then there is also chou[兆]: "10,000,000,000,000"/"ten trillion" which Kubo seems to have avoided using (probably just for the sake of sounding more dramatic) and kyou[京]: "10,000,000,000,000,000"/"ten quadrillion."

“Fire Squad, TenTrillion Deaths, Big Funeral Formation”

So, to be clear... (military)Formation is the core subject here.

Who’s in formation? The Fire Squad

What kind of formation? Funeral formation

What kind of Funeral? Big

How Big? 10 trillion

A military squad equipped with fire starting weapons, carrying out a mass military burial, of ten trillion corpses; all of which is pretty literally reflected in how it raises a bunch of skeletons of dead warriors. That is just a preposterously high death toll though, and it honestly reminds me of the stupid meme shirt, "BORN TO DIE, WORLD IS A FUCK... 410,757,864,530 DEAD COPS."

I do want to clarify that [葬] means "funeral"/"entombment"/"burial"/”interment” etc... and is explicitly about the dead and frequently (although not exclusively) about whole body burial... I am super confused why the biggest bestest most powerful fire sword doesn't seem to CREMATE people...

but I also want to clarify that together [葬陣] does NOT refer to something like a "concentration camp." Also "interment" as in to put a body in the ground, is not the same word as "internment..." The Japanese words for something like an internment camp, or specifically the Nazi concentration camps are [捕虜収容所]: "Prisoner of war housing site" and [強制収容所]: "Forced housing site" respectively.

Kita, Tenchi Kaijin["北": 天地灰尽]: "North,” The World/Universe + Ash + Last day of the month/End

Tenchi[天地]: Heaven + Earth, very literally “Heaven & Earth” but in that it refers to “all creation” or “the whole world” or “the universe.“

I'm assuming this uses [尽] to mean "Last Day..." because of the rest of the names' theme of the passing of time.

“The Last Day... The World is Ash“

“The World Reduced to Ashes” was the Viz translation, which at least has the same general imagery as the intended meaning, but it misses the specificity of “The Last Day” and how that plays into the cycle from East to West, South to North in the different forms. Also, in English it’s a little clunky, but I feel like it evokes two phrases, “The (Whole) World [is] Ash” and “[Your] Last Day [on] Earth” simultaneously. The whole thing has a distinctly apocalyptic tone to it.

So, his bankai starts at dawn, gets to sundown of the final day, he's brought out to the execution/burial grounds, and then all that's left in the end is ash. It tells a neat little story, and Kubo clearly had to fiddle with this for a while to get some of these names to come out right, so that's neat to see at work. It's a shame this fight was so anti-climactic.

When Jimin said during his MTV ment that the pandemic/time away from live performances, 'makes us question what we are doing,' I got a sad, ominous feeling. Maybe I am the only one. Maybe he was just relating to the same situation we are all more or less in, with the pandemic. But I don't know. It also felt sort of BTS specific, too, like maybe they had big group discussions about it, heart to heart. Jin said he was bored. It seems like the big pause has worn on them and without a brand new album to put out (as a group of seven), and all the motivation of that maybe their work doesn't give them as much meaning. The military deadline is approaching too. It makes me sad and worried. BTS are not teenagers. Certain content they put out seems as though it is not designed with their true, mature selves in mind (lives where they do kids crafts, promos with stickers etc). I will always love seeing them, in any form it takes. I understand that qith their higher profile, they might feel even more guarded about sharing their feelings outside of music. They aren't going to sit down and talk about politics or anything like that. I know that. They have to appeal to a general audience of mostly teens. They promote the way their company wants. But they are artists and performers and that part of them needs to be fed and honored. Are you still optimistic about them coming back and being with army for many years more? If they question why they are doing what they do at all, isn't that a bad sign? Maybe I am overthinking everything. It seems selfish to just want them to stau a unit and perform and make us happy endlessly. If only they knew how comforted and happy millions of armies have been because of them this whole year, and all the years before it. 💔

Anon, maybe I misunderstood your ask or you misunderstood or don't understand what is going on with the group, but I completely disagree with you.

jimin's words or the feeling behind them are not new, it's something that they, but in particular jimin, have been quite vocal about, they have talked about their feelings, frustrations and how they are coping or have coped with the situation that the world is going through, they said it and that's why they decided to make the album 'BE', that album is not only a reflection of what maybe many of us feel but it's especially a reflection of what they feel, I'm not saying it, they have said it several times, as fans we must learn to listen and understand what our favourite artists are saying. It doesn't matter if they are multimillionaires, famous or not, the situation in general has been the same for everyone, maybe for them, being used to travelling constantly and not being in one place for a long time is particularly difficult, which brings me to another point of your ask.

BTS was already used to a very specific style of work, concerts, different countries and cities almost weekly, practices etc., they were preparing for the biggest tour they would have done to date, they had plans that they suddenly had to stop, they had to change their routine and their workload suddenly, after almost 7 years, I don't know about you, but I think that would take a while for anyone in their position to assimilate and accept if you want to, especially when you love that part of your life, and you are used to it.

They released a new album 4 months ago, they are not machines, I doubt that even if we weren't in this situation, they would have released another album 4 months after the last one.

anon, have you heard what these seven men say about their work? About their art? Also, they said that they are working on new things, but that they can't show us yet. Again, we should listen to what BTS, its members say.

They have known all their lives that at some point in their lives they have to do military service, maybe in the end they won't have to, personally I think Korea benefits more from them working on their art than spending 2 years in a military base, but that's my personal opinion which has no say in the final decision.

I find it hard to believe that BTS at this point in their career would do something they don't want to do, that they don't believe in, and since when is doing arts and crafts synonymous with immaturity? Because society said it was for children? Don't be prejudiced anon.

The sticker promotion, you mean the ones on the deluxe album, didn't you see how happy they were with that, didn't you hear how Yoongi very happily said that if they won the Grammy they should release a new version of the album with a sticker that says Grammy winner?

I guess by this you also mean RUN BTS, and did you see the episode where they had to decide what they would do in the next episodes? The ideas they came up with? And the ones they chose in the end? Don't you see how happy they are doing RUN BTS? How much fun they have doing it? BTS is an extremely busy group, always working, rehearsing, composing etc., and although recording RUN BTS is technically work, I guess it serves as an excuse to de-stress and yes, behave like kids.

It’s a joking reference to the time she thought Santa was an evil Ment out to ruin Christmas, and a point about Nick overdoing it with the cheer. “Saint Nick” is usually code for “I know you mean well, but please mind your own business.” Otherwise, she just calls him Nick.

What is their favorite type of cookie (and its name and why?): Salted caramel chocolate chip! No special name.

What was their initial reaction to Sally hugging them, as kids?: She just froze. That could just be me projecting adult Sabrina onto her childhood self; I don’t imagine that she was as uncomfortable around strangers or quite as cautious back then. But that’s what I’ll stick with.

How did they ace the ASE test?: The in-game option she takes is “My entire life has revolved around strategic avoidance,” but the one about being just plain smart also sounds like her. If Sab has the chance to thoroughly (over)prepare for something, she will do it. Her mind blindness also has her constantly (over)analyzing situations. So, hard work and relentless anxiety!

Did they manage to win their first assignment? How?: Yes, by having Sally block the door. I’ve headcanoned some slight differences in how it plays out, which I wrote about in-depth here. To summarize, Sab thinks of blocking the door as a desperate last resort, not a clever loophole, and she pushes back against Rosy’s praise because she wishes she could have done it the “real” way. Rosy goes from being impressed to being annoyed that she’s willfully missing the point.

What was the primary emotion Button felt during the Aeon bombing (love, gratitude, etc?): Guilt. She feels very guilty about how much Nick has given up for her in general, but I think that in the moment, it’s on a smaller scale. The fact that Nick was on the phone with her when it happened, coming to her rescue like always, becomes emblematic of their whole relationship for her, and she really fixates on that.

Who drove them home from the hospital from and why?: Glitch. Sab responds to her initial text with “Are you sure?”, and is relieved when Glitch takes that as “Yes, please.” She doesn’t relish the idea of being around someone more connected to her family or Nick at that point.

How do they feel about Nick riding around in their mind?: Worried, at first. Just because it’s so unknown and absolutely insane. After seeing Doctor Amari, she’s excited! Sab is thrilled to be a Pollard Five and intends to take full advantage of it. I am not looking forward to seeing how she reacts when that’s taken away from her.

Why did Button agree to do the undercover mission?: To prove she still deserves to be an MIV. Sabrina feels stupid and reckless for putting herself, Nick, and Aeon in this position, but she knows she’s smart, and she hasn’t worked this hard for nothing. She wants to prove what she could do with a normal Pollard Score and make herself too valuable to give up even when she’s back to Zero.

Told Glitch about your mind blindness?: Depends on the playthrough. I’m constantly going back and forth on whether Sab meets Glitch for coffee or wanders the city with Nick in her second chapter 5 slot (after trying to track down Kent). If she does meet Glitch, though, she absolutely tells her; with how touchy Sab is about privacy, she couldn’t stomach not warning Glitch that Nick could hear everything they said.

Figured out K’s secret?: Nope. She finds enough of the clues to be given the “I knew it!” option in-game, but she didn’t actually put it together. Sab is too angry and embarrassed by learning that Kent is an AMO to find any reason to interrogate it. “The random guy I met before school just happens to be a jerk” is a perfectly sound explanation to her.

Found Noh’s clues?: Not at the metro station. Sometimes she sees the Vengeance brooms in chapter 5 (again, depending on the playthrough), but that’s it.

ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP:

Love Interest: Kent

Why them?: Sab feels an immediate kinship with Kent after learning about the NPO program. It’s kind of funny how quickly he moves from the least sympathetic position in her eyes (Ment who got past me and read my mind without my knowledge) to the most sympathetic (non-powered child of a prominent family aiming a league above where he “belongs”). A lot of new respect for his competence. Her fate is sealed when she realizes that his kindness at the hospital wasn’t him trying to make up for some wrongdoing, but just him being very sweet. (She had scoffed over “You needed help.” But now she’s like, “Oh. He meant that?! Fuck.”)

As they spend more time together, Sab realizes how weirdly similar they are in other ways, too. And she starts to feel safe/secure around him in a way that she’s extremely not used to. Growing up surrounded by Ments, Sab has a lot of issues about being too much, too difficult, needing to “be worthy” of love. So someone like Kent who is not a Ment, who has no “obligation” to care about her, and whose judgement she trusts implicitly? Being around him and being loved by him mean a lot, and I think will go a long way towards helping her reflect on her other relationships!

What are their first impressions of each other?: Okay, there are like 3 first impressions with Kent. First: he’s tall and handsome and secretly adorable, and they have similar career goals, so she’s drafting a five-month plan to woo him and get his number. Second: he’s a lying, self-obsessed loser who owes her many explanations. Third: oh no, the first impression was true! And he’s been continually, selflessly kind to her in spite of her overt hostility. Scratch the five-month plan, because the crush was only fun when it was entirely superficial; now she really, really likes him and that just sucks.

We know that Button makes a good impression on K by stopping for their dogs, but apart from that... I mean, the “we confused each other” from chapter 7 is very apt. Sab has lots of shifting personas, and Kent sees pretty much every one within 24 hours. The prevailing impression before everything gets cleared up is probably just that she cares a lot? About everything? Her stopping for the dogs, how seriously she takes the first assignment, the way she seems so deeply affected by something he said or did that morning. It’s a rare side of her to meet first because she usually pretends to be above everything.

What feature does your Button find most attractive in their RO (ex. appearance, personality, etc.)?: Probably his composure. And his... steadfastness? The way he seems unruffled by anything, his soothing presence. She really admires that about him and finds the calm contagious.

What do they do to spend time together?: Going on drives together! Kent driving while Sab plays songs she thinks he’ll like, talking or not talking. Cuddling on the couch while reading their own separate books. Museum dates. Walking the dogs together.

Do they argue? How do they handle arguments and disagreements? How do they make up?: I imagine that the first month or so of their relationship would be difficult, just because they’re both bad at expressing themselves and not used to relying on other people. Kent kind of negates a lot of Sab’s impulses to get defensive or hostile, so instead of arguments, I think there are more likely to be awkward periods where she’s just stewing in something without addressing it. Most of their fights would be, like, one of them becoming really distant for a concerning number of days until the other tries to awkwardly check in on them.

What does their future look like?: Uhh some random lore: I think eventually they do get married, despite neither of them caring that much about it. Sabrina would be excited to have something to plan, and she knows it would make the people around her happy. They have a long engagement; there’s never really an “official” proposal, just an acknowledgement that yeah, they’ll get married one day, and then eventually they get rings. The engagement is almost Sab’s favorite part, honestly. She likes planning and showing off her ring and calling Kent her fiancé, a lot of fanfare on her part for a wedding that ends up being very modest and chill.

OTHER RELATIONSHIPS (Feel free to go in depth!)

Relationship with Nick: When I first started developing Sab, I thought that with as difficult/prickly as she can be, her relationship with Nick would be worse than it is. Never bad, but certainly strained, with more jealousy/resentment on her side. However, she rejected this. She is resentful, but never towards Nick—she internalizes the negative parts of their relationship so they manifest as guilt instead. And that’s the problem, not resentment. Sab thinks he’s overprotective, but that doesn’t make her angry; it just makes her sad. She wishes things were different and he didn’t feel so responsible for her, but she also doesn’t know how she could manage without him taking on so many of her burdens. So, guilt! So much love, but always looming guilt.

Having Nick in her head has helped. It’s added a new kind of guilt (“I’m a horrible person for being so giddy that people can’t hear my thoughts even though that requires my brother to be in a coma”), but getting inside Nick’s head for once and really feeling his love for her changes things. Makes her feel way more secure, I guess? It’s easier to see her brother as human person, a friend who loves her, rather than a perfect selfless paragon who sacrificed everything to raise her, which is an important shift.

There are also Things happening with self-presentation in the fact that they’re both models, and flirts, and pretend to be shallow. And the ways that they’ve responded to vastly different expectations. And selflessness versus selfishness. But I have no idea how to talk about that yet.

Relationship with Father: Strained and distant. Sabrina doesn’t necessarily blame him for leaving, but she hates how he’s handled it. She’s incredibly frustrated that John insists on keeping them in this miserable limbo of uncomfortable visits, even though moving away was (to her) a tacit acknowledgement that she and her parents are better off without each other. He’s trying to force a relationship that Sab thinks is ultimately harmful for everyone involved. For Nick’s sake, she’s willing to grin and bear the visits, but it never works because John can obviously tell it’s an act. He pushes her, she gets defensive, and so on to infinity.

Relationship with Mother: Like with John, Sab doesn’t resent Hope for the incident itself, or for leaving afterward. It was terrifying, and the idea of being around Hope makes her panic—but she thinks of that as just another irrational anxiety symptom, and she’s trying to work through it. What she does resent Hope for is letting it get to that point at all. Sab is incredibly bitter that Hope will suffer silently to the point of almost killing her (during the incident) and potentially herself (with the BRS), while Sab has no choice but to be completely open. Especially because they’re so similar in that way—she’s almost jealous. “Oh, so your silence is allowed to almost kill me and it’s ‘nobody’s fault’ but I can’t pretend to enjoy a single lunch with Dad without him calling me out for lying?”

And even though she doesn’t hold the incident itself against her, Sab is very hung up on “Why are you never quiet? Why are you always there?” She knows, on some level, that this was not a Personal Judgement against her. But because Hope keeps so much quiet, this is the only honest expression of her mother’s feelings that she can remember! It would take a lot for Sab to believe that Hope was really, genuinely interested in reconnecting with her, rather than just pretending to love her "enough” this time because to do otherwise would reflect poorly on Hope as a mother.

Relationship with Sally: Besties <3 Sally is the only member of the Wiseman inner circle that Sab doesn’t have complicated feelings about. They both have hidden morbid streaks that they bring out in each other, and can laugh about. They both have competitive streaks that work well together because they’re always on the same team. And their wants/needs from the relationship complement each other well, I think. Sally has always felt valued because she’s useful and not because she’s loved, while Sab has always felt smothered by love/care without feeling like she genuinely adds value to other people’s lives. So it means a lot to both of them that they’re able to help each other practically, while also genuinely loving and supporting each other outside of that.

Relationship with Gray: Full of trust and genuine care, but predicated on distance. Sab loves him a lot for being so careful not to cross any boundaries, physical or emotional, with her. She’s grateful that he’s there for Nick in a way that she doesn’t feel she can be. But "I like Gray because he doesn’t push me and is good to Nick” means that any hand he extend makes her defensive, because she’ll either view him as an emissary of Nick or start to panic because their normal routine is being disrupted (she doesn’t tell him about Hope in ch 3, for example).

They get along very well in a friend-of-a-friend sort of way, and bond over being cautious counterparts to Nick. Also, Sab never had a crush on Gray, but she is not immune to tall superhero and thinks it’s fun to fake flirt with him. (You know Isabela’s “You have pretty eyes” routine from DA2? Sab does that to Gray when conversations steer towards things she’d rather not talk about.)

Relationship with Glitch: I’m really excited about these two! They click from the start, and Sabrina feels immediately comfortable around Glitch, which makes her feel distinctly uncomfortable whenever she catches herself. Externally, they have pretty different personalities, but they’re both perceptive and... socially manipulative? aware of their self-presentation?... in ways that they both pick up on right away. So it’s a lot of conversational maneuvering and trying to figure out what the other’s game is, while also genuinely enjoying each other’s company.

Relationship with Kent/Kenna: I could go truly insane here. See the romance section above instead.

Relationship with Kim: Sab wants him to like her sooooo bad. He’s one of the only people to ever really get through to her, re: my headcanon conversation after the first assignment. Authority figures tend to treat her as special, whether that’s negatively because of her mind blindness or positively because she’s such an overachiever. She had no idea how to respond to that not being the case (and didn’t handle it well at first), but chapter 6 solidifies her respect for him.

It also turns Rosy’s opinion of Sab around; he was impressed by her in class but left his office thinking she was self-absorbed and naive. But the bombing is a reality check, and her response is very measured and practical in a way that surprises him.

Relationship with Lev: She doesn’t mind the comparisons to Nick or the “maybe one day they’ll fix you” comments as much as you might think. They aren’t her favorite, but she prefers that sort of thing to the inspirational platitudes belied by coddling that she got from her family growing up. Sab has fond memories of Lev and is grateful that he’s always been kind to her, but doesn’t have any particular feelings apart from that.

Relationship with Clarence: Holds a grudge against him for causing a scene, making her late, and generally being a jerk. But she can’t fault him for being right, after what happened! Mostly she just wants to avoid him, but she’ll be thrilled to lord her success over him if/when she proves herself.

Relationship with Dean Branham: Like Rosy, another authority figure that Sab desperately wants to impress. But without the personal investment she has in Rosy’s validation, more “Oh, this person is in charge, so I should make her like me!” Despite Nick’s and Rosy’s reservations, Sabrina doesn’t really have a problem with being “strongarmed” or manipulated into cooperating; for now, she figures Branham was just doing her job and respects her tactics.

Relationship/attitude towards Ments in general: Mostly just uncomfortable and wary around them. Sab doesn’t want her mind read, and she figures that no Ment wants to be forced to read it either. So she has a pretty strict “no Ments” rule for close personal relationships (excluding Nick, Sally, and Gray, of course. But only Nick really counts because he’s the only one who can hear her thoughts whenever she’s nearby). Not out of hatred or resentment, just because she knows it will be easier for everyone in the long run.

Do they have any other important relationships, past or present? (Relatives, friends, etc.?): Not many, but yes! Sab dated around a lot in the 2 years before Aeon (more like year and a half, because she completely shut it down once she was more focused on preparing for the MIV program), but there are 2 relationships that were formative/important for her. A high school sweetheart, and someone Sab met through modeling. She doesn’t keep up with her high school ex, but the model is her best friend outside of Sally and Nick, and they still keep in touch! I’m still developing them/the relationships, and I’ll probably post more about them someday. They’re fun!

PERSONAL BIO

Describe their personality: Confusing and contradictory. She has two main modes that confuse people who meet both (e.g., Kent). She’s either cold, stuck-up, and sometimes hostile, OR she’s charming, frivolous, and sometimes flirty. Mode 1 is tense but stoic and inexpressive; mode 2 is seemingly relaxed but very posed and insincere. Mode 1 is for when she feels uncertain or has no agenda apart from “get to point B”; mode 2 is for when she’s more comfortable or trying to manipulate someone. Her actual personality is a bit closer to the second, but she doesn’t pretend not take things seriously or hide when she’s annoyed.

Strengths: Analytical, methodical, detail-oriented. Very driven and hardworking. May not always act like it, but does have social skills/charisma; a great liar, if you can’t read her mind. Unfailingly loyal and loving to her favorite people, so so so warm and affectionate and supportive if she really loves you. Very perceptive.

Weaknesses: Way too proud. Can be petty and vindictive. Self-absorbed (she doesn’t mean anything by it, but it’s hard for her to see past herself sometimes). Stubborn, hates being wrong. And... emotional isn’t the word, but strong negative emotions can really cloud her judgement. It ties into her being proud, petty, and stubborn; if she’s really upset about something, she can cling to that emotion instead of re-evaluating it or moving forward.

Phobias: From this ask about the phobias that are planned to show up in-game, there are a few that I could see fitting Sab, but I want to wait to see how they’re implemented before I fully commit. Which is very metagame-y, I know (and I am very metagame-y about IF), but “fear of X” is so broad that it really does depend on when/how it manifests in the text.

That being said, agoraphobia is almost a lock; crowds do make Sab very anxious if she can’t keep track of everyone within a certain distance, and if she can’t leave when she starts feeling antsy. Claustrophobia is a maybe. The choice that triggers it (in chapter 4, about hating MRI machines) suits Sab, but I’m not sure if she hates MRI machines because she hates tight spaces, or if it’s more related to her general anxiety about hospitals, medical tests, etc. Which she definitely has!

What activities/club did they do in school?: She avoided anything group-oriented as far as possible. She took piano (maybe violin?) lessons and did recitals, but wasn’t in orchestra. The one exception was maybe National Honor Society or some equivalent, which she would have joined for her resume’s sake. And I think she would have tutored!

Where do they escape to when they need space?: A little used library corner, where she can people watch without being seen/heard.

How do they feel about/cope with their mind blindness?: Sab hates it but tries not to dwell on it. She knows that it’s no one’s fault, and she mainly just tries to... minimize it? Drown out her thoughts, limit her contact with Ments. And, least healthily, very rigidly managing herself. Because there’s so much of her that exists outside of herself, without her control, she tries to either filter or completely suppress everything else. Part of why she got into modeling, she can perform and be perfect and have total control over the final product of her body in the photographs for whatever campaign. Some Day This Will Be Better. But definitely not where she is in current canon.

How has your Button changed since the Incident with Hope?: Developed many new anxieties and disorders and syndromes :) She also became way more self-conscious, as in literally conscious of and way more tightly monitoring herself, what she’s thinking, what she’s expressing, how she’s sitting, etc. Less emotive face, more rigid posture.

If they weren’t an Aeon student, what would they be doing?: Sab would have beaten herself up forever if she “proved everyone right” by avoiding Unity/Ments entirely, so she’d want to stay in the family business somehow. She probably would have ended up doing scientific research on mental agility. Maybe even working for Mirrortech or some other biotech company, which I imagine would have been an interesting conversation to have with the family.

RANDOM FACTS:

Zodiac sign: Like I said, I assigned her Libra months ago for the sake of a template. But I don’t know enough about astrology to commit. Libra or Leo, probably.

Hobbies: Music, reading poetry, “cooking” (i.e., sitting on the counter and not helping while Nick makes dinner)

Likes: Watching other people (Nick) play video games, dressing up, taking long showers/baths, dark chocolate with caramel, back hugs

Dislikes: Being patronized, hot weather, going to the doctor, driving, doing anything she is not good at

Type of bedsheets: Bamboo.

Drink of choice: Cucumber mint lemonade! For hot drinks, some kind of caramel coffee. For alcohol, she refuses to get drunk because she’s terrified of having even less control of her mental broadcast, but at home/around people she trusts she’ll have a glass or two of wine. Doesn’t know enough to be picky, but doesn’t like it too sweet.

Favorite food: Probably some pasta dish Nick makes with asparagus and tomatoes and a lot of garlic.

Favorite color: Like a light turquoise!

Favorite music: Music to her was another mind-shielding tactic before anything else, so she tends to like upbeat-ish electronic/pop stuff. Catchy and repetitive, and/or with lots of personality to drown out her own thoughts. On the other end of the spectrum, she does have a soft spot for crackly, lo-fi, old or old-sounding slow songs—something about fuzzy recordings simulating a weak telepathic signal.

Favorite season: Hmm, spring and autumn are both good. She likes either side of winter.

I just recieved new information of the magazine that features Yashahime as the spotlight for the August 2020 issue. The magazine is called Animage. I heard that there is actually two magazines floating around. This is just the first one.In this month's issue, Mr. Katsuyuki Sumisawa from the series will talk about the history of the project (interview continues in the next issue), on the picture it has bravely drawn illustrations of the three girls!

Nakajima did the manuscript (original picture) who is another animator. Their artstyle closely resembles and imitates Kumiko's art style from Secret of the Cursed Mask.

It said it was made as a fantasy adventure story that set in between 2 periods: Sengoku and modern periods... Started from Reiwa period. 3 half demon young ladies are going to weave the feudal fairy tale that filled with peculiar and romantic themes.

The show will begin at this fall.Rumiko Takahashi provided the foundation of the story, as well as the character designs for Yashahime. Rumiko Takahashi checks the scripts and approves of them. She is clearly stated as the supervisor."It seems Setsuna is a little embarrassed when Towa takes her hand...?"

A. Is it economic power? I think Setsuna is a youkai extermination shop, Moroha is a bounty hunter, and both are 14 years old and have jobs in their hands because they need economic power. Moroha is cheerful and friendly, so I think it's the most nostalgic girl among the three.

The only two girls when mentioning InuYasha and Sesshoumaru, is Kagome and Rin.You heard clearly, this magazine mentioned that there will be more romantic themes in Yashahime.

While only mentionin Rin and Kagome when it came to the two fathers. Highly implying that Rin is the mom but also not directly saying that it's her. It definitely sounds like a marketing ploy to get our attention. Again, it is highly implied that the mother here is Rin. Unless they do a quick wild card on us and change all of what is implied.It said we are getting more romantic themes. I wonder what we are going to be getting?!

It amazes me that this magazine confirms that they've been talking about a sequel since the Final Act and the fact that Rumiko Takahashi even did the base story for Yashahime.

I remember in the Bluray interview with Katsuyuki Sumisawa where he talked about how he channels her visions while other writers fail to do so. He gets praise from her often with the work that he does. She checks all of the scripts, goes over them and approves of them.

This sequel is clearly important to both of them. It was created from Rumiko Takahashi's idea and Katsuyuki Sumisawa's writing ability to be able to translate it into what we will be getting very soon! The interesting thing is, Sumisawa also was the one that wrote the Drama CD that was bundled with the Final Act. In the Drama CD, Sesshoumaru actually proposes to Rin.Are you guys excited as much as I am?Do you guys think that Rin will be the mom? Comment below! Why Celestia is actually a complex character, and shouldn't be reduced to just “Big titty goth gf” (Shorter then the wiki lmao)

!SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA TRIGGER HAPPY HAVOC!

~{Character overview}~

Celestia Ludenburg - The Ultimate gambler

Notoriously labeled - “Queen of liars”. Celestia lived her early life Gambling and Taking care of her cat. After being trapped in a school with 16 students she depends on her manipulation and lying skills to help her and others stay alive. But by chapter 3 of Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc (THH), Celestia gives in and orchestrates a Double murder. With a very neat and unique design it’s quite easy to mistake her for a different person then she is. And that’s exactly what she wants you to see her as, A different person.

~{The real Celestia}~

During the events of the third class trial, it is revealed that “Celestia Ludenburg” is a fake persona put on by “Taeko Yasuhiro”. The name is also a key to solving Chapter 3′s Murder. After the trial and before her Death - Celestia reveals her motive.

~{Celestias Motive}~

After the trial Celestia reveals that her motive of killing was to receive the money and live out her dream of Buying a Castle in London and have Vampire buttlers serve her - pretty obsured and probably the most obsured motive for killing. Athough that is what she said, it can not be trusted as it can not be confirmed if that was indeed her true motive.

~{Free time Events}~

I won’t go into detail but I will point out main parts in her Free time events.

FTE 1- perfect gambling strategy.

{Celestia explains that in gambling there is a power, that power is Luck}

FTE 2- Russian roulette mahjong.

{Celest Talks about her experience playing Russian roulette mahjong. This story was deemed to be fake as it was just Celest inserting herself into fictional manga plot surrounding gambling, She does the same for her 2 more of her free time events.}

FTE 3- Celestias origin of birth.

{Celest states, that she was born in the capital of Tochigi, which is known for its delicious gyoza.She asks if you know what city she is talking about, The correct answer is : Utsunomiya.}

(These will be the main that I will referance as it would be a paint to describe all 7 FTE’s.

~{Personality}~

Celestia naturaly uses her developed Manipulating skill to help her somewhat gain control of the group. Celest is acually quite smart - even her plan for the murder was very detailed. From the outside she seems cool and composed, but acually has a very fragile ego. It is not stated, but speculated that something within her clicked and/or happend that made her distanceherself from her family.

The fake persona of “Celestia Ludenburg” was made by Taeko to seem strong - the opposite of what her real self was. Celestia wanted control of the group and if she didn’t have it she felt weak and like she had no place.

In general , she wanted to be special.

~{Celestias fate}~

As I said earlier Celest/Taeko wanted to be special. Like a queen.

That is why the beginning of her execution was ment to be elegent to make her think she would at least die like a queen.

In the end she didn’t and instead died from the fire truck.

~{Style}~

Celestia takes on the goth lollita fashion making her stand out a lot from the rest. It is also what attracts most people to her.

NO Celest is NOT an “UwU Goth gf” She is a complex character with many levels of shit to understand. Basically there is a lot more to her character And I believe Too many people fail to recognize that.

Going full momma bear for his boys wasn’t something new to Davey. The last time it had gotten this bad though the Delanceys had avoided him out flat for a whole month. Even now he could scare them off with just a toothy grin or “absentmindedly” tracing a path down his throat. Seeing them pale and back away never failed to bring a smile to his face. He earned quite a bit of respect for that too. Not many Newsies could do that. Only two that he could think of in all honesty: himself and Spot Conlon.

He and Spot weren’t on bad terms at all. At least, that’s how it seemed. They talked on occasion, could get along better then Spot and Jack, and both had the brains to keep their respective gangs in line. Not too long ago though he had an exchange with the leader of Brooklyn he never expected. One that stuck with him.

“So how’d you do it?”

“Huh?”

“Scare Th’ Delanceys that damn bad. How?”

Davey looked at the leader of Brooklyn with an expression that seemed a mix of conflicted and embarrassed. Oh boy. A nervous laugh sounded in his throat as he pulled at his tie with a finger like he was suffocating because of it. “Oh it wasn’t anything all that special.”

“To scare the Delanceys that bad? Bullshit. It takes a lot t’be able t’make those two pale like ghosts. So how’d ya do it?”

Oh boy. Spot seemed serious. That wasn’t good for him. He knew the shorter boy wouldn’t stop until he got an answer and he wanted to walk out of this without a bruise or a broken limb. Wasn’t this perfect? “Y-you wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”

“Really now?”

“Yeah. It sounds cra-“

“Then show me.”

Davey pales a bit. Oh. Oh no. That was a bad idea. “I-I don’t think I should-“

“They wasn’t physically hurt at all. I can take it. So show me.”

His throat bobs as Davey gulps. Spot really....this wasn’t going to end good for him. No sir. “I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“I can’t do it here at least. I-It takes preparation and such. About a d-day or so.”

“I didn’t peg you as one for such elaborate plans, Dave. Though, I suppose I should ‘ave. You ain’t like Jack-Be-Nimble Jack-Be-Quick after all.”

Davey laughs, the nervous undertones sticking out like a sore thumb. “No, I’m not.”

“Well then, think you’ll be able t’show me tomorrow? Seein’ as ya ain’t got that school shit or whatever over th’ weekend.”

Oh perfect. He isn’t going to drop it. Just his luck. “I.....I suppose so. But, I should warn you now, anything that I say or do is solely acting. So please don’t take anything personally.”

“Why? Insultin’ part of it?”

“Yeah. And some other things I wouldn’t do to anyone if they didn’t deserve it. But....you’re asking and I’m not going to deny you.”

“Good choice, Dave.”

“Heh. So I’ve heard.”

One spit shake later and Davey was practically put on the execution list. The clock was ticking....

His time was up. Shit. Shitshitshit. This seemed like an even worse idea now that he was here, looming over a unconscious and tied up Spot Conlon in the dark of the night, in the abandoned warehouse, with an empty stomach and a death wish for doing this. One he was certain was going to be fufiled thanks to this.

The first sign of movement and consciousness he slipps into character. “Well....looks like someone’s finally awake. Took you long enough.”

The last thing Spot expected was to wake up shrunken and tied with seeming expertise. Or for Davey to be over him in such a manner. “What Th’ hell is you talkin’ about David?! What’d you do to me?!”

“Oh don’t act suprised. You asked for this. I thought it was obvious what you were getting into when you decided to do what you did.” The sickeningly sweet tone and smile fit almost too well on his face. Like he was designed for this.

For a minute Spot is ready to try and fight the taller boy, despite his size. Then it all comes flodding back. Right. He did ask to see this. Davey was acting. Damn, kid could act. He seemed like a completely different person. Guess it seemed fair he only threw his hat in the ring with this acting show. To fully understand what this was about. How bad could it get after all? He made sure to flash Davey a look of understanding before starting to fight his bindings. “What th’ hell do you mean?! I didn’t ask for shit!”

That look....Spot remembered. Thank god. Davey doesn’t dare drop his act though. That same psychotic laugh from that night weeks ago rings through the room. “Oh sure you didn’t. Then why do I remember what you did so vividly? I am simply....teaching you a lesson.”

Holy shit. Now Spot was staring to see why the Delanceys were so scared. Davey seemed straight insane! He was more then grateful for it only being acting. “I ain’t in need of no lesson, nutjob! Let me the fuck go!”

A hand slammed down next to him, making him jump. He really was small...

“Oh I don’t think I will. Not for a while....” As he talks, keeping his tone sweet and speed slow, he brings his other hand up behind the leader of Brooklyn. When all seemed calm he quickly took hold of the boy and hoisted him into the air. “My my, and I thought you were short before.”

“Thats low.” Spot can’t help the little out of character comment that escapes him with a smirk before he drops it and starts to squirm in the seemingly giant boy’s grasp. “What‘s that supposed t’mean?! You’s is gonna let me go, that clear?!”

“Oh I don’t think you want me to do that now, Spot. Not when a drop this far could break one of your legs. Or snap your spine. But enough talk. I’ll get to my point.” Here’s where his improv skills were going to get put to the test. He wasn’t excited about it. “I have a offer for you. A deal if you will. You agree to leave me and my boys alone and I’ll spare you. Disagree.....well I am very creative when it comes to fun executions.”

Spot feels his blood chill. Davey was acting, but damn did this feel real. “Prove it.”

“Oh? Much feistier then those brothers, I see. Well....I could snap each of your limbs one by one and leave you to die. I could crush you under a hand or foot. I could strangle you like a snake with my hand. Need I go on?”

Oh. Those.....he could actually do those. That. That made him uncomfortable. More aware of his size. “N-no. You don’t haf’ta. So I just have t’leave Manhattan alone?”

“Yes. That’s all I ask.” Davey shoots the boy a borderline insane toothy grin. “Do we have a deal?”

Silence. You could hear a pin drop.

Tension. You could cut it with a knife.

“Deal.”

“Goodie! Now do stay still. This will only take a moment.” Davey doesnt wait for a response before he snaps off the bindings with his teeth. He sets Spot on the ground. Just like with the Delanceys when the boy tries to back up he slams a hand down.

“Now where are you going?”

This wasn’t done? Oh boy. Just what did Davey do to the Delanceys? “Leavin’. I agreed t’ya deal.”

“Oh...why are all who I shrink so naïve?” Davey doesn’t wait to snatch the tiny back up. “I’m not done yet. I just like to see my captives have hope, only for it to be crushed.”

“W-What th’ hell is that supposed t’mean?! What else could ya want wit’ me?!”

Davey doesn’t have to say a word, his stomach growling seemingly on cue. “Well...you see, setting this whole thing up and caring for a bunch of Newsies is enough to make you forget the simple things. I’m just...so hungry and you look, dare I say, absolutely delicious~”

Spot freezes. Oh. So that’s what Davey did. What he ment when he said he wouldn’t believe him. And he was too far to turn back. Oh no. “I....I’m not some meal for you, ya psychopath!!”

“Oh don’t look so down. It’s not like it’ll hurt you. I just need something to fill my poor stomach for a while until I can get something to eat.”

“How Th’ hell is EATIN’ ME ALIVE not gonna hurt me?!”

“Well the Delanceys are still walking around, aren’t they? What I used to shrink you...see, it makes you immune to things like stomach acids. Convenient, isn’t it?”

Another insane laugh rings out in the warehouse as Spot processes this. “Oh Spot. I tried to warn you. Tried to tell you not to poke the bear. Now you can deal with the consequences. So do me a favor and don’t fight until you get to the bottom like a good meal, alright?”

Spot isn’t allowed to get a thought out before he’s dangling over Davey’s maw. A yelp of alarm sounds from the throat of the shrunken Newsie. This....Davey was right, but....this was bad. He wants to fight, he really does, but for the first time in years he’s frozen in fear.

Davey’s grip steadily loosens until the boy is plummeting strait onto his awaiting tongue. The jaws around Spot snap shut, trapping him as the tongue underneath him starts to lick him over and toy with his frozen body. He can’t move. He’s paralyzed and it’s scary. No. Terrifying.

Satisfied with his work, Davey brings a hand to his throat. A soft yet strong gulp tugs the leader of Brooklyn down, his hand tracing the path all the way with each swallow until he feels him drop into his stomach. His tongue snakes out over his lips, ending with a satisfied sigh. “Ah~ Now that is much better.”

Spot isn’t ready to be met with a pleased gurgle as he drops into the chamber. Finally he can move and he’s able to start to fight. The hitch in the breathing of the giant lungs above him signals something. Something he’s so very glad to hear.

“S-Spot?! Are you ok in there? I didn’t hurt you right? Did I go overboard? I’m sorry if I did I just get too into character and I can’t-“ Davey cant help but drop the act and start to ask the shrunken boy in his gut a million and ten questions and the presses against his form.

Spot yelps as he’s pushed back by the pressure of Davey’s hand from the outside. At least Davey was back to himself. “I’m fine Dave. Physically fine. I....I now see why you didn’t want to show me. And why the Delanceys are scared stiff of you.”

Davey’s usual nervous laugh sounds deafening as it shakes the chamber holding Spot. “Yeah....that. And could you speak up a bit? You’re really muffled.”

Spot’s fighting calms down, him relaxing against the wall that’s oddly comfortable. The only thing that’s strained at the moment is his voice but he can take that. “O-Ok....so, you’s is gonna spit me up, unshrink me, an’ then we go our separate ways, yeah?”

“Uh.....” Davey knows he should but...it’s so nice to be full again after a day of not eating and he doesn’t really want to go to bed on a empty stomach. It wouldn’t hurt to just... “not yet.”

“I’m sorry, what?”

“Well, I wasn’t lying when I said I was really hungry. Missing a day’s worth of meals then also running around with the boys does a number on a empty stomach. “It’s not like you aren’t safe after all.”

“Dave, are you tryna say you ain’t gonna let me out?”

“Um....y-yeah. Sorry...?”

This is where the fighting picks up again. Davey’d be lying worse then Pinocchio if he said he didn’t miss it. A hand started to rub at his belly again, almost like he was trying to get Spot to move.

“Lemme guess. You’s wasn’t lyin’ bout the squirmin’ thing either?” Spot’s tone is somewhere between annoyance, anger, and amusement. This was certainly something.

“They....it feels nice....” Davey sheepishly admits. It does feel nice to have a squirming meal under his skin.

“Well ain’t that good for my case!”

“It really isn’t.”

“Oh trust me, I know!”

They talk for a while more, Spot having to constantly yell at the top of his lungs for Davey to hear him. After a while a yawn echoes around Spot, followed by the swaying of the chamber hes in as Davey stands up.

The taller teen forces himself to his feet, a hand rubbing at his gut all the while. Boy is he lucky that his prey never seems to make a bump in his flat stomach. Makes it easier for him to hide his special “punishment,” though he’s certain the boys of Manhattan know. “Hey Spot? I’m getting pretty tired and am gonna head back to the lodging house for the night. Do you think you could keep it down?”

Spot seems silent. He’s not but after so much shouting he needs a break. The fighting says all he has to though.

“Alright then, as long as you don’t manage to wake up any of the boys.”

Slowly Davey stumbles through the sleeping city, a hand over his stomach at all times. Back at the lodging house, trying to get through the mess of boys and to his shared bed for the night with a squirming meal in his stomach again. He really couldn’t think of a better way to end his night. With a few pats to Spot he snuggles down for the night, leaning into Jack’s sleeping presence without thinking. Once he’s drifted off he leaves Spot to himself. It’s awkward but eventually he tires out. Not long after, the leader of Brooklyn finds himself unconscious listening to the sounds of the boy’s body around him.

ISLAM 101: Muslim Culture and Character: Morals And Manners: Clothing And Outer Appearance

Wearing clean and tidy clothes is the Sunna of the Prophet. It should be kept in mind that dressing in such a way is not a display of vanity or arrogance for a person who has the means to dress well. In fact, God has made it clear that a person has the right to wear clothing that is befitting to the wealth they have been blessed with.

Awf ibn Malik relates from his father, “One day I came to God’s Messenger wearing a coarse, cheap garment. He said to me, ‘Have you no wealth?’ I said, ‘Yes, I have.’ He asked, ‘What kind of wealth?’ I said, ‘God has given me every kind of wealth: camels, cattle, flocks, horses, slaves.’ He said, ‘Then let the abundance of God’s blessings be apparent on your person!’”80 From other hadith we know that the Prophet wore his best clothing. He also had his Companions do likewise. The following narration not only men- tions this, but also teaches that those with the responsibility of act- ing as representatives must dress particularly well. Ibn Abbas con- veyed the following hadith: “It was when the Haruriyya (a branch of Khawarij) revolted. I went to Caliph Ali. He told me, ‘Go to those people.’ So I went and put on the best Yemeni garment. Then I came to them and they said, ‘Welcome to you, Ibn Abbas! Why are you so dressed up?’ I said, ‘How could I be otherwise? I saw God’s Messenger wearing the best clothing he has!’”81

It is also good adab to say a prayer the first time a new gar- ment is worn, for the protection of God on the wearer. Abu Umama remembers, “Ibn Umar put on a new garment and prayed thus, ‘Praise be to God, Who has given me clothing to cover my body and bring beauty to my life.’ Then he added, ‘I heard God’s Messenger say, ‘Whoever wears a new piece of clothing, and prays thus, will be under the protection and preservation of God both while he lives and after he dies.’”82

The Prophet also forbade Muslim men to wear silk clothing. Ali ibn Abu Talib explained, “One day God’s Messenger took some silk in his right hand, and some gold in his left hand, and said, ‘These two things are prohibited for my male followers.’” According to a similar hadith from Tirmidhi and Nasai, Abu Musa quoted him as saying, “Silk clothing and gold are forbidden for the men in my community, but allowed for the women.”83

On the matter of outward appearance it is better to avoid broad generalizations concerning the issue of cutting hair so as not to cause any misunderstanding. It is best to mention the relevant hadith and comment on them briefly. Some reported sayings of the Prophet are as follows:

Anas ibn Malik reported that God’s Messenger said, “He who has hair should honor it.”84 We honor our hair by combing it and keeping it tidy. The Prophet disliked disheveled hair. One should ei- ther comb the hair or have a short haircut which does not require much adornment. Ibn Umar narrated, “God’s Messenger saw a boy whose head had been partly shaven. He forbade people to do this, saying, “Shave it all or leave it all.”85 Again, Ibn Umar tells us that God’s Messenger prohibited believers from shaving part of the head and leaving the rest unshaven.86

The Prophet used to look after children’s hair. As narrated by ‘Abdullah, the son of Ja’far, God’s Messenger came to visit them three days after the death of Ja’far; during this time Jaf’ar’s wife had been unable to look after their hair. “The Prophet said, ‘Do not weep over my brother after this day,’ and he said, ‘Call the children of my brother to me.’ We were herded before him. He said, ‘Call a barber.’ He then ordered that our hair should be cut short.”87

Concerning general appearance, the contemporary Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen provides us with a clear understanding:

As is reported in many books about the life of the Prophet, most Companions of God’s Messenger had long, braided hair.

Some of them would gather it in a knot. In Bukhari’s Al-Sahih, the following incident is narrated: Seeing a man who had knot- ted his hair during the Hajj, the Prophet advised him to untie his hair so that his hair, also, got the benefit from sajda, or pros- tration. God’s Messenger did not order Abu Bakr, or Umar, or Uthman, all of whom had long hair, to cut their hair.

After the conquest of Mecca, the hearts of many people were softened and warmed towards Islam, and most of them embraced Islam. They wore garments in the style of nonbeliev- ers and the turban of the unbelievers on their heads. The Prophet did not ask them to remove even these. Indeed, this would be formalism and he was far beyond formalism. He did not give any orders that could be interpreted as formalism.

In fact, outer appearance is not something essential in Islam, but rather, it is something of secondary importance. So, we should not be too concerned with outer appearance or formal- ism. The Prophet may have warned those who had cut some of their hair and left other parts, just as some young people do today, as it distorts the natural appearance and it would have been imitating non-Muslims. It is mentioned in the sections of hadith books that are concerned with garments and physical appearance, mainly in Tirmidhi, that the Prophet used to comb his hair according to the customs of the time in Mecca, so as not to resemble non-Muslims. I'm having bad anxiety so I'm just going to answer these questions rn

Okay so when having anxiety I over think and I barely have any friends so I thought if using these questions to keep my mind off things and it kinda works it's also why some are long because I'm trying my best to think about other things then my stress. Maybe some of yall can try this if you want. Could help idk

I've never really had the soda bottles but for now Ig soda cans because I feel like it keeps it fresher then the plastic and plastic is bad

Hmm this is good question in my head summer looks so good ahh but I've never really had a sent for it cuz the past few years I've been in my room but I love the sun oh and you know when your about to go in the pool and you can smell the Clorox mixed with the sun block and that smell just smells like a soft nice energy and there is this one tropical sent havent really smelt it in years I remember the one time I got to smell it was in middle school in the girls locker room so ig it was a perfume idk if it was really associated with summer or it was just tropical perfume my mom could spray on anytime of the year

Lol none I hated p.e I was also pretty tall at the time so people expected me to play but I just wanted to hide in the corner

Well I don't really like breakfast that much I think food in the morning makes me nauseous but I have to eat it cuz I can't eat school lunch food cuz that shit is nasty but breakfast school food is 😉 so I usually get banana bread and good ass duch chocolate milk

Hmm good question , I think jacket because they are bigger and girl Jean's have the pockets different to make the booty look better and sometimes that leads to uncomfortable pockets and front pockets barely exit for girls and jackets sometimes have those secret pockets only you have assess too like the ones on the inside and jacket pockets are bigger

43. hoodie, leather jacket, cardigan, jean jacket or bomber jacket?

1. hoodies are good for when you dont have a bra on and they come with one BIG pocket and you dont need to worry about a shirt

2. Leather jackets are for cool kidz and carry a nice vibe and still thick enough to keep you warm , but you can't really get them wet I think so you can't wash em , but they can come with cool designs on the back but their better fitted on perfectly on a person and if you grow they just look odd on you then you have to buy another and that's not fun

3.Bomber jacket , it's a whole style but one I try to pull of but just cant do it well

4.Cardigans kinda umm not a fan but good if your wearing a dress that's shows your shoulders and you are insecure about that being shown. Remember when somewhere in the 2000s they told us that cardigans where so easy to put on and throw more into your outfit so people bought quit a few. I do
