yk like after reading stormbringer + bsd drama cds + manga i kinda realised that chuuya isn't angry 24/7. bones just characterizes him that way + he does get mad when hes w dazai and in the shows timeline, hes most powerful wit dazai.

22! chuuya is pretty damn smug in the manga/is chill with the mafia, and it makes sense since he IS the strongest. 15! chuuya was aggressive but wasnt everyone. and 16! chuuya is acc funny and chill, he like tolerated shirase when he was a whiny bitch (BYE NO HATE TO SHIRASE)

sometimes i gotta remember that before stormbringer, he had a rly strong drive to get better and know more, as opposed to him now whos a mafia executive & the strongest. chuuyas under an organization with that sort of hierarchy, and being the leader (mori) also means being a servant for your organization, not just being the most powerful, so i guess thats why hes not entirely cocky. + dazai is the only person who can annoy the shit outta him (like them elementary classmates that can just pull out a pic of your my little pony era if u wanna test them LMAOOOOOO)

therefore writing chuuya i try to write him like a half normal teenager going through his midlife crisis. i def think hes an acts of service & quality time kinda guy. like a romance with him (pre-relationship) is genuinely like - "treat you like a friend, respect you like a lover." as for characterising dazai, its pretty hard for me bc my requests for him are in the pm! era and like how can i imagine port mafia dazai falling in love?? (besides chuuya guys shut up) im definitely working on writing dazai properly since hes hella enigmatic.

The dichotomy between what's popular according to booktok (from what I've see) from the most blandest books imaginable to the most taboo erotica you can think of is kinda wild.

I think that what gets me with taboo books recommended by BookTok is that they're usually very poorly written. And if the writing is poor, you're not really getting the full "shock" value.

Like, when you read Sierra Simone's Thornchapel series, the scenes read as really intense because Sierra is an excellent writer. In contrast, a book like Hooked (that one dark romance~ modern Captain Hook book, a concept I was very open to and wanted to like, for the record) is very badly written. There's taboo content and a horrible hero, but like... It just reads juvenile.

I'm about 65% through A Kiss at Midnight by Anne Stuart, a historical romance that is QUITE dark, but the writing is frankly fabulous. Because Stuart can write, the darkness (which is not like, the corny "oh he's so bad he's in a motorcycle gang" torture sequence stuff--it's TRULY intense and pretty accurate for the era) is balanced out by emotional progression and honestly? A very dry, at times dark humor. If a lesser writer handled this plotline, it would just seem like shock factor after shock factor layered on just to get people talking. Very 2edgy4me.

And I'm gonna be really real here. Some fanfic authors are made to transition to actual published books. I think Ali Hazelwood writes a really solid contemporary romance. I really enjoyed You, Again by Kate Goldbeck, and that's based on a fic I actually read. The Hurricane Wars works as a book. (And mind you, let's not take away from the work the editors and authors did to rework fics into actual books here.)

Some fic authors are meant to stay fic authors and to excel at that. I personally think that one of the reasons why we have so many blaaand romance novels right now is that a) some of them are written by less-equipped fic authors trying to write real books and b) some of the authors have read less actual books than they have fics.

There are some tensely plotted, exciting fics out there. But personally? I think the standout nature of those fics--fics like Manacled, which... I think.... is not.... for me. However, bland it is not lol--makes people think that is the NORM for fic, when it's not. The norm for fic, and what I think a lot of more casual fic consumers and people who read more fic than they do books (compared to a lot of romance readers who turn to fic to supplement their reading habits) is very plotless slice of life stuff.

And that's not meant to be derogatory. It works, especially when you're writing about characters a lot of people know and love and are PROGRAMMED to know and love. Even if it's AU and they're basically other people, if you're writing a modern, sedate romcom about Katniss and Peeta and she mentions going to archery classes and Peeta being a baker, people are like aawwwww and they enjoy the nicely written scenes that are just people being people.

That.... ultimately creates a bland story when you're writing a book about original characters nobody has a preexisting investment in.

PPS. I was shown Hebrew text from a book and then the LORD zoomed in on two letters from the Hebrew alphabet. Let me find them for you babes. I came across something like it in the Bible however it was missing the dots. Are we connecting the dots in a certain situation or text? I learned the dots at the bottom help the reader identify what is a vowel. I have no idea what this means for someone. The text was a paragraph so perhaps a message is coming and I would do well to pay attention. Perhaps a message will be intercepted. I keep getting that. Some hidden text needs to be examined but with the utmost secrecy.

What I adore about the New King James Version is all the cross references. I included the NIV as well.

This is definitely a message for only those who understand Hebrew 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know those far smarter than I will figure this out.

1. Bruuuuh, Syn would be so fucking tired of looking after the boys. When do THEY get to cause chaos, huh? Rook is happy because he probably just wishes to share the beauty of Fleur Town with everyone and Azul is mad because Syn would probably off-handedly call his shit out. Also, Rollo nooooooo. Personally, I'd ask for a different mask shape. I like how one of the people who's basically strangers is the one to compliment.

2. FUCK YEAH THE GOAT WOULD BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY. STEAL SHIT, MY HORNED SON. And, Deuce and Malleus feel like they'd get along well enough. Ruggie would drop Syn after catching them and laugh at their expense. I have no clue what the flower pic is meant to interpret. Honestly, two of the more logical or scheme-y guys and far smarted than Syn. And I can't think of why Syn would be thinking about Jack other than "OH FUCK, THE DOG HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY" as a bit.

3. Yeah, Syn would be tired as fuuuuuck. And, Deuce, my soft boy friend, aawwwww. I'm guessing the punishment is just... flicking the pink section of his hat over his head, which Rollo deserves a bit harsher. Which, motherfucker, WHY WOULD I BE CHEERING WITH YOU?! Unless I've already threatened him or was drunk enough. I feel like Rook would be a good dancer, even if Syn's definitely not. And, fuck, they're probably dreading going back to study OR looking forward to reading some fictional thing

it's not really gonna be another heartbreak, just more of the same hahahahaha. no but really, i want this story to give both neteyam and vol the closure they deserve and show that despite our fears and despite it not being what we envision, life does move on, and just because we lose a love/relationship/situation that meant so much to us, we still survive, and we usually come back better and stronger. i think despite how you besties like calling me the queen of angst ahahahaha, that is what i hope people take home from my stories, that life goes on, that you can overcome any challenges and hurt that the universe deems fit to throw at us and there's beauty beyond it x.

my stories, to me, have always been about the reader, not neteyam/jake etc. it's Atan's story, Vol's story, Vi's story, and I want to do them justice in their own way xx

Another random AU idea: an AU based in the worlds where Leatherhead was mutated around the same time at the turtles and Splinter. Instead of the Utrom discovering and raising Leatherhead, it’s Splinter that happens upon the baby gator and decides to raise him as a fifth son. Probably named him Tintoretto or Giotto or something similar: if it’s the first, they definitely call him Little Tin Man 🥺 his main nickname would still be leatherhead though, and maybe his color would be pink or green? Green seems like an even, neutral color for him.

I imagine he’d take a place at the very middle of the family lineup (middle child energy) and growing up he’d have a gentle giant persona similar to rise Raph, but more soft spoken and hating conflict. While Donnie prefers to be more of an inventor and tech wiz, I imagine leatherhead enjoying being book smart. They’d both enjoy reading of course, but Donnie enjoys more tactile learning why leatherhead enjoys more reading and writing. His love languages are quality time and physical touch, and I would imagine him very quiet— rarely speaking to anyone outside of his immediate family. He and Donnie would get along exceptionally well, same with Mikey of course, but he might occasionally bump heads with Raphael or Leonardo.

I suspect if he had to have a weapon, splinter would probably give him a Chigriki (maybe?) but leatherhead would always prefer his bare hands and teeth. I chose Chigriki because it is a bold and obtrusive weapon, and it forces leatherhead to step out of his quiet comfort zone to use it. There could even be an episodes conflict with Leonardo upset that Leatherhead isn’t using his weapon enough !

Favorite characters: well I have a few, actually. I mean I love nearly all the characters but.

why I love these characters:

FITZ: Honestly I don’t know why Fitz stands out to me. His struggle is deep and complex. He’s like a puzzle, so you have to read in between the lines sometimes. I also like that he’s so family-centered. I love my family and he loves his family so I respect that. He’s blunt as hell sometimes and I just gotta love that he can be so out there. 

RAYNI: where do I begin? She’s probably the best character Shannon’s got right now. She’s so REALISTIC and fleshed out. She’s theatrical too, and she has sass but not cheap annoying sass (cough Ro cough). She calls people out but in a helpful way. She advances the plot. She’s sexy. What more is there to say?

ALVAR: Alvar is such a wet cat character. I love him SOLELY because he finds a way to resurrect himself every book somehow and I think that’s funny for no reason. He also advances the plot when he’s there so yay. 

ORALIE: Oralie can be so real soemtimes. She’s funny on the lowkey. You just find out more and more about her and you’re like “I’m not surprised but somehow I am”. I also love her councilor lore.

squeaky sandor is underrated. Everything he says is just funny because you have to imagine him squeaking through it all. Like, he could go “I’m always watching you” and it’s funny because he’s squeaky. He’s also just funny. Like he’s not actively trying to be funny but what he does is just comical. Also he protects Sophie and I like Sophie so that’s nice. 

so as for my favorite ships, you’re not going to like them. Technically any ship is good with me (to a degree) but these are just ones a I feel strongly about.

Why I ship them:

KENRIC AND ORALIE: Omg I love. I love them so much. When I read that Kenric went to the matchmakers and they were on each other lists I gasped out loud and threw my book at the WALL. Like ho my goodness. The enemies to lovers arc got me man. The forbidden councilor love. So good. 

TAM AND BIANA: It’s so basic, I know. I know. But I see it. It just feels like it would be so pleasant to read. My reasoning for this ship does not go beyond a gut feeling so take it or leave it.

GRIZEL AND SANDOR: aawwwww I love sandor and Grizel. I love grizel and I love sandor. They’re just so lowkey and chill about it. 

FITZ AND RAYNI: this one is going to start some fires but I’m really seeing the enemies to lovers here. They hate each other and would not POSSIBLY consider the other as a romantic interest in any way (and obviously wait until it’s legal), but like as time goes on….? Fitz needs someone who’d slap and set him straight, and maybe he needs to love someone just purely out of love to see that matchmaking isn’t the perfect system (as ingrained to his world as it is. Rayni says it herself, things have to get ugly before they get better). I mean it’s giving I Can See You or Electric touch a little bit in my mind, and like majority of reputation maybe hahaha idk (again after like a year or two when it’s legal. Fitz is like 18 now right? He was 17 in flashback or smt. Idk). 

STINA AND DEX: Stellarlune kind of ruined this for me, but I was enjoying whatever grudged friendship Dex and Stina had in Legacy. Personally. It was nice. Stina is literally not horrible. She’s annoying but everyone has a good side, we just don’t get to see it with Sophie’s POV (no discredit to Sophie btw). 

CHANDELIER AND FITZ: picture this: Fitz singing Last Christmas by WHAM! because Sophie dumped him (L bozo) and this year, he’s giving his love to someone special: the chandelier. The chandelier had him when he didn’t think he needed it. I really shouldn’t be encouraging this joke but. But.

STELLARLUNE

Sophie and Keefe’s kiss:

I’ll be honest, I didn’t care for it much. Im not a Sokeefe shipper so that kind of plays a big role in my opinion in the scene I’d say, but it was uninspiring. It really did seem rushed. Shannon trying to appease to her Sokeefe da base is doing the series no favors for anyone. If I were Shannon, I’d add more personality and quirks to the scene. Make it a little less perfect, but more fun to read. Less expected. It’s like the kiss scene fell right into our lap, but I wish it smacked us in the face. Maybe change the scenery, show and not tell so much, make Keefe react more idk. it was all so expected, and Shannon is known for bringing the unexpected in your face so don’t know why she didn’t use that here.

-Alvar is going to show up again yes Alvar

WAR. LIKE, BOOK-LONG WAR

-Elysian is going to take away someone’s (or all) their abilities. She made their abilities numb, right? What if she sent someone or all of them back to the regular world without their abilities? She could do that, right?

-I also believe Elysian is really sinister, because Kenric was absolutely terrified of Elysian so what if she’s just ruthless and horrible?

WHAT I WANT:

-FITZ’s REAL MOM IS ALINA. It’s so chaotic but what if Alina beguiled Alden into an affair? It wouldn’t be ooc for Alden because she could’ve just convinced him with her beguiling. And why else would a prestigious and (as is HEAVILY EMPHASIZED CONSTANTLY THROUGHOUT THE SERIES) highly influential legendary celebrity family like a Vacker family want to have more than one child? Think about it. It’s literally taboo, and Vackers are supposed anti-elven taboo. And ten years apart, too. Random asf. What if they had Biana as a cover up? What if Alvar knows, and THATS why he’s mad at his brother and sympathizes with Biana? 

-Alvar is going to come back stronger somehow and beat the living daylights out of Fitz, or Alden.

-We need to have a moment where Ro is held accountable for her behavior. Like, she can’t be nosing into everyones lives and just…be happily accepted for it. 

-I want there to be just like a scene where it’s just fun. Like some sort of game-situation where it’s all just goofy. Some sort of game show type deal, or some sort trip to somewhere new and funny, everyone gets funny make-overs for some reason, something like that.  

-I want more Rayni. Rayni deserves to be more than just a captive. Let her have a moment away from her room. She’s so expressive.

-I need someone anyone to break a barrier and do some sort of performance. Either Marella, Biana, Fitz, Rayni, Linh or jensi, any of them can probably either sing, dance or both. 100%. 

-I need the Vacker legacy to be really dark and world changing. I want the deepest Vacker lore you got Messenger.

-Fitz needs to ironically go “I never claimed to be perfect!” And wink then dissaper or smt.

-I need Jensi to rap or something. He’s a lil Eminem over there please.

FITZ: Fitz needs to derail. he needs to show how he really feels about not being in control over the Alvar situation. He needs to break every mirror in Everglen, have some sort of dramatic moment in the darkness of night. He also needs to have humorous/lighthearted moments and I want moments where we see him grow and be more than just a love interest. 

RAYNI: Rayni needs to just be given more opportunities to express herself. She needs to be allowed to be normal or soemthing. We need to learn more of the little things about her. Is she sensitive? Does she like hugs? Or is she not a touchy feely person? Does she have any passions? Special interests? Fond memories? Etc

BIANA: Biana is lookin a little 2d atm. How does she REALLY feel about Fitz getting all the spotlight? We know she doesn’t like being a Vacker EXACLTY, but what was her personal experience growing up? 

ALINA: I’m just curious about Alina because the whole situation with her crashing the wedding was funny to me. I’m still waiting for some clarification on that because WE WERE TOLD that they dated and broke up, BUT ALDENS REGISTRY FILE SAYS THAT THEY WERE ENGAGED AND THEN CALLED IT OFF. Hello??????? How does she feel now that she’s a councilor, technically now ABOVE Alden in status? 

MARUCA: Maruca just needs personality. We know next to nothing about her. What makes her different? She seems like she could be so cool please develope her more Shannon.

Alden and Della: I want to know how Alden and Della are doing lowkey. Like, how has been at Everglen? Still okay? No? Well let’s hear about it, I’m interested. 

BONUS: what I would change about stellarlune:

-Less Keefe. Keefe eats up the entire plot and I can’t stand it. Like he’s great and all but…what happened to all the cool things Shannon could have done for the last two books that don’t involve Sophie either worrying about Keefe or Keefe being the main focus of the plot? There more to the series than Keefe and he’s getting hard to choke down at this point. Not a problem with his character (I mean he’s flawed but aren’t we all?), just a problem with the way he’s treated in the series.

-I also want a little more into the elven world. Shannon has this rich, thriving and colorful world with so much more potential than even 10 books have already covered. I wish there were new places discovered or explored. It’s a fantasy book series, right?

-last, but not least, MORE ACTION. I want whatever wild things were going on in Neverseen again, when they were running around behind the wings. I want wild moments like the Silveny birth scene, like that was so unnecessarily detailed but it was so random. More climax scenes like the flashback climax, more action scenes like Grady going metal with Brant. MORE. ACTION. It would have made the book even cooler.

AAWWWWW!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’m glad you like my OC’s!! It means a lot to me that you guys online enjoy these goofy characters of mine! As for my talent, anyone can learn with enough practise! It took me a long time to become happy with the quality of my drawings, and at first I didn’t even draw in Viv’s style - the things that helped me the most where watching speeddraws, watching how others would do their sketches, line art and shading helped me learn how to do it myself. So don’t put yourself down! You may be able to do base edits at the moment, but if you just keep practising you'll find a style of drawing that you like and are comfortable to work with!
