If you ever find yourself separating Kurama and "Youko" or confused with his character or lore, just replace red-haired Kurama with his white-haired appearance or vice versa and you'll see it's the same character. Red-haired Kurama can be brutal and white-haired Kurama can be soft/silly. Both are always a youko.

P.S. There's a mistranslation here. Mazoku doesn't mean "part" demon. It just means demonic or magical being. On another translation, they use "demonkin". But really, "demon" is enough translation. The leader of the mazoku in Japanese mythology is a maou or demon king/lord. So just demon is enough to mean as mazoku.
