on a similar note, i do think that there's a lot of people that are just outright evil towards the female characters moreso in this campaign than ever before, with people literally demonizing imogen for so much as breathing in laudna's direction as being an evil, toxic, heartless abuser and "worse than delilah". and people notably didn't care at all about ashton until they realized they could ship them with laudna and further make out imogen to be a monster.
i cant say that this is the worst it's been, historically. the way keyleth/marisha was treated for years was probably the most notable, gruesome, & well known example of misogyny in the fanbase, something that affected marisha ray personally and still does - iirc, part of beau directly spun from her willingness to spite her detractors. many a reddit incel would not shut up about every detail of marisha's rp as the druid. i appreciate that cr responded to that over the years narratively as spitefully as possible.
but, yeah, i think, especially on tumblr, there are some odd attitudes at work. imogen, fearne, & deanna are taking the full brunts of it -
deanna is called evil or disappointing for not being a shining cleric of holy goodness praising the gods bluntly to the screen, and is dehumanized by fans by being put into the mammy stereotype whenever she talks to imogen, even when her plotline is literally centered on realizing she's more than a nurturer (and aabria has liked my tweets on this subject, so maybe, we can assume she shares bitterness at this?). almost no one ever wants to acknowledge her beyond the trait of being motherly, or being lovers with chetney, and dont get me started on how people said she was feral because she killed a goat and made imogen cry?
fearne is treated as a ditzy kooky bimbo fae, with many people ive seen refusing to acknowledge any of her character development - folk get angry when ive mentioned her doing anything, saying shes just a selfish bitch and only that, that she needs to be "put in her place" by any character witnessing her mischief.
and for imogen - i know people dont want to woobify her, but in the process, holy fuck does cr tumblr become judgemental. i have seen, verbatim: "sorry she isnt your girlboss and her actions will hurt others when she turns evil", said pre-solstice, and then, she wasnt. her tendency toward her darker powers and her considering ludinus's pov (yknow. like many a protagonist tries to see the antagonist's pov. thats normal in narratives) because her mother joined him has damned her into the fandom thinking she's a beast to be put down. frankly, even if she did turn evil? id support that narratively, that's fantastic. but she didn't and there is a smugness to the fact that she is now the most clear headed against ludinus when people were sure she would turn, and wanted blood on that assumption.
as for ashton, yeah. i.... have a lot of thoughts on how fandom treats them - they definitely were treaded around til shipping began and only then they were considered palateable, and then were noticeably only called he/him pronouns by the terfs of the marisha/laura-ship brigade. if im being honest, i have not seen them directly used against imogen, and i dont think im the person to discuss imodna or shipping wars with you. but i do think every other bells member is utilized as some kind of cudgel against her (namely, in my experience, orym). to this fanbase, imogen is not allowed to have her traumas in the literal face of ruidis, the source of it.
i know this harsh simpleminded view on the ladies of cr has always existed. i could go into it in every campaign thoroughly. but i do think c3 is unique in how tumblr is treating it. do you know how badly you have to screw up for cr twitter to be calmer & more rational on the topic of women existing in a narrative?

What are your views on Catholics or very traditional Catholics? I’ve spoken with one guy who was and he believed that even women shouldn’t work and called it unbiblical. I mentioned the various women in the Bible that had businesses and worked but he didn’t really get it. I don’t get their animosity towards jobs too.
Because I’m poor and I’ve always had to work and women in my family never had money, we always had to work. Eventually I got him to admit that poor women should work (for no pay too) for rich women who should stay home and make babies. He lived a very sheltered life I learned. He didn’t even understand how taxes worked or how much things cost because he was still being taken care of by his very wealthy parents. Both of his parents were doctors too 🙄 he never needed a job or to go to school but only went to party. I think honestly he isn’t really Christian, he just feels so insecure and inadequate next to women who are business owners and educated so he’s Catholic to feel important. Because his world views and how he feels the world be is so ignorant
But I don’t pity him at all because he let it slip out that women with no family or friends to care for them should be prostitutes for men because prostitutes existed in Jesus time. And he still had the audacity to ask me why he was still single. It’s bad when you learn that even those hardcore traditional pick me catholic girls don’t want you 🫥
I always said I vibed more with Catholic women than I do with non Catholic ones.
I don't think being "very traditional" is remotely relevant to your relationship with God, so "very religious catholic/Christian" doesn't mean anything imo. Jesus broke several times "traditions" and negatively caught the attention of pharisees so I think this whold "traditionalist Christianity " that's quite en vogue rn is one huge misinterpretation of what Christianity really is.
And you're right, the Bible never portrayed women working negatively so male traditionalists beefing against women in the workforce shows that their grievance has more to do with their incelness and drive to control women, than a genuine will to follow the Bible.
I'm absolutely not surprised he lived a sheltered life and probably didn't witness women in his family working. But you know what's funny? It's that those people never seemingly connect why the Bible puts so much emphasis in helping the widow and old women with the fact that those women were depending on men for their survival and happened to be financially vulnerable once alone (with kids). You can bet men like the one you're talking about would not accept financially helping them because cOmMunIsm or something like that. They wanna prevent women from working but also refuse to deal with the (financial) consequences of women not working... And they have the audacity to blame feminism when feminism is one of the reasons falling into poverty once your husband dies/leaves is not a fatality for women. On that aspect, feminism represents a net positive for women, and that's why I'll never be an "anti feminist". Men didn't wait feminism to be piece of shit and abusing women out of their financial vulnerability. There's a reason female hysteria or poisoning your husband for social liberation were a bigger deal back then. "Life was easier when women didn't work uwu" anti feminists should go back to 1845, and shut the fuck up at this point.
Him painting prostitution as an alternative for poor women closes the deal about how this man wasn't Christian anyway. Their mask always slips off. Those men don't want Catholic pick mes either because they get a thril caging "liberal" women. That's the exotic bird syndrome. That's why they love porn and all this degrading stuff. Have you noticed how those dumb conservatives rage bait content sound like porn video title "blue haired SJW lady gets DESTROYED by based maga Chad" or shit like that. TRA do the same with 'terf' as well. They are obsessed humiliating them. They even profess their weird porn fantasies raping them...

Nooo not a whole one record of me stating animals are rad and that you’re a freak who likes incest about turtles from a kid show 😭 apparently I wasted my whole Halloween writing you two asks under 3 minutes. Aahhh, I still think I’ll sleep okay tonight. I’d love another fan mail though if you could spare some time for me. I always love to laugh 💖 also awww I’m an asshole?? :( I think I can live with that 😉.

You literally changed your blog because of me.

Did my tags really affect you that much? I genuinely had no idea I had this power.
Also, you are aware that I saw you delete your own devastating reblog?
Tumblr media
Bullshit, by the way, since you’ve been quickly overcorrecting with your heading, based on language you would only know from a thorough reading, and yet
Tumblr media
You tried to convince me you had the last word and then did everything you could to make sure no one who visits your blog would see what I said. You’re terrified of having people realizing what a loser you are and you know your rejoinders mean jack shit, because ignoring what I say doesn’t mean your friends won’t. So you deleted it.
Not to mention that the new “vampire girlboss” image doesn’t hide what it was this morning:
Tumblr media
You are aware that Twilight is full of “problematic” ships, right? Old vampire man and underage girl? Werewolf boy and baby? Or do the rules not work for Nazi blondes?
And if you “had a life” we wouldn’t be having this conversation, because you wouldn’t be stalking people online. So ignore this stuff, it’s really your own shit anyway.
(Also, seriously, are you a toddler or just really dumb? That writing style makes you look like an overcaffeinated six year old. Mummy should put you down for your nap).

>Oftentimes transphobes will accuse trans women of being rapists based only on the fact that they have a penis (regardless of if she actually has a penis or not). Transphobes see trans women as "men who wear dresses so they can invade women's spaces and rape them."
Why are you making this about trans people, specifically, when the subject was false accusations and rape accusations in general?
>Yes, it is more significant that she's a radfem. But the te part of terf is not irrelevant.
Just in the interest of clarity; are you using Shinigami Eyes?
And if nthfem wasn't a TERF, would you have said anything at all?
>If you can never question a rape accusation, then transphobes can accuse any trans person they want to punish them for existing. Just like how common it was in the past for racist white women to accuse black men of rape so the men would be lynched. Not to mention that a trans woman existing in her body is often seen as a sexual deviance on its own.
Again, so?
Loads of radfems and mainstream feminists say women's accusations of men should be uncritically believed and society should not discuss false or mistaken accusation at all. Including pro-trans people. Eg the Brett Kavanaugh controversy.
They are just as reprehensible, IMO.
Also, I notice that the only people you're describing as victims of false rape accusations are people in minority groups.
Are you familiar with the duke university lacrosse case?
a black exotic dancer accused a sports team full of rich white boys of gangrape.
a lot of people believed her, because the situation fit their beliefs about gender, class and race. it was like those situations with the black men you mentioned, except everything but the gender was reversed.
and it turned out she was lying.
more recently there was the Rolling Stone article "a rape on campus". The second verse goes the same as the first, with some slight variations.
this accusation was in a magazine article, and the accused fraternity successfully sued Rolling Stone and the reporter in question for a few million dollars.
Around the same time we have mattress girl. A Columbia University student said a white boy sexually assaulted her. she carried a mattress dramatically to the Campus for her senior project got loads of National attention from mainstream feminism.
of course the narrative ignored how she already accused the accused to the school and the police and both have decided she didn't have much of a case. the guy she accused settled a lawsuit against the school because they failed to protect him.
So, you see, false rape accusations hurt cis white men, even when they fail. In this case, they also hurt the rep of Rolling Stone, Columbia U, UVa, and the gullible reporters who supported the false accusations.
>As an aside, I honestly dislike referring to terfs as feminists in any capacity since their ideology is rooted more in hatred of men than it is in the uplifting of women. I also don't know of any radfems that are trans inclusive, so the venn diagram of a terf and a radfem is basically a circle.
Radfems in general are rooted in hatred of men. TERFs just include trans women as 'men'. They're just a different branch of extremist feminism, and use the same basic gendered threat narrative as feminism in general.
And even mainstream feminism claims to be about "gender equality".
Extremists still count as part of the movement, and "uplifting women" includes privileging women.
>it seems you enjoy engaging in arguments and debates on tumblr about things like this#but im going to respond in good faith even though i have a feeling you just want to argue about something
I created this blog so I could discuss highly charged issues without attaching them to my real name.
You just made a thinly-veiled, passive-aggressive personal attack. Possibly because I'm questioning your ideology.
>#because like. you had to search through the notes to find my tags to call them into question
Tags show up automatically on the new tumblr UI. So just scrolling through the notes would show them. Which I do habitually, in case I see someone else who has a post I want to reblog.
Which is the main purpose of this website.
>#i dont think you follow me so you didnt just happen across my post with my tags on it
You say this, yet you either use Shinigami Eyes, or checked nthfem's blog to see what she thought, even though what she said in this thread is already reprehensible sexism.
Unless she bought up "MRAs" and wasn't gendering rape victims and rapists, somehow. Which radfems and mainstream feminists and people who sneer at the idea of false rape existing almost always do.
>#but i think its a fair question. what DOES transphobia have to do with false rape accusations?#i think it has to do a lot with them actually#whos an easier target to accuse of rape than someone whos often seen as a sexual predator and pervert by too many people already?
Like men? Like regular ol' men, around children? Like the men radfems hate, even by your own admission?
I also think it's worth pointing out the nature of the most common pervert accusations against trans people. Specifically, trans women are supposedly men in dresses who are either confusing their fetish for their gender identity, mentally ill, or outright predators.
Also, most false accusations of rape and sexual assault are against cis men, from cis women.
IMO, if I was to look at LGBT people who are accused of being perverts these days, it's also highly likely to be cis gay men, especially drag queens reading to kids.
So, I think you're focusing on the smaller problem.
personally I think false rape accusations are wrong for a variety of reasons. including on a fundamental moral level. the harm is not just to the accused. it damages actual victims. it damages people who trusted the accusation. it's a waste of time, money, and resources. Sometimes it can get people killed. I care, no matter who it happens to.
you, by contrast, seem to care almost exclusively when you think it harms trans people. And, briefly, about some old historical racial cases that happened decades before either of us were born.
Good day.
It's an important point that any system for establishing guilt will have false positives but torture and murder is bad even if it's torture and murder of the genuinely guilty. Like "kill all rapists" isn't bad just because there's no good way to tell rapists from non rapists

This is truly the best example ever of what I was literally JUST saying.
Not only are there hundreds of supposedly anti-TERF exclusionists in the notes, obliviously defending a literal "trans exclusionary radical feminist" against somebody calling her an "ace exclusionary radfem" too...
But cakecourse, here, even mentioned in the tags that the-fuckboi-aesthetic was "a goddamn TERF."
Didn't call her out in the post, where people reblogging it might see it and know to block her. Didn't signal boost the fact that she was a TERF. Of course didn't do a call out post or anything. You know, to maybe keep other trans women from accidentally drawing TERF attention, or clicking through to a TERF blog.
Nope, just did the Tumblr equivalent of complaining under your breath. Like basically all exclusionists.
The notes overall are a total clusterfuck of people screaming about how it's transphobic to minimize terfs by... calling somebody (who I hope they didn't notice was a huge TERF) an aerf.
Tellingly, a huge number of them -- like the folks above -- are actually only mocking the term and the OP, not even going so far as to pretend that they're offended by it. This is how a lot of TERF ace discourse posts fly under the radar: people are so ready and excited to just make fun of aces that they don't even check, or notice, or point it out to others if they do notice.
this is great. just you, me, and this down with cis bus you built between us asexual people deserve a place in queer spaces
