Date: Mar 20th, 2021 Time: ~ 2:21 h Awww, soft Norman :') There was a bit to redraw, but I think everything turned out pretty neat!!! I believe everything works out fine. Though looking back at it, the part of the ID I added is definitely top small :')

#3: Manga dub: Yuugo gets knocked out

Date: Mar 27th, 2021 Time: ~ 5:05 h Here start the Manga Dub redraws to which I gave my everything ahah. This one turned out nice! I think the shoes turned out particularly good eheh. I like how Yuugo's clothing lineart- for the texture, I wanted to go for something heterogeneous, but I'm not fully confident in the final result. Gilda looks very rushed but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Taking into account what there was to redraw, I'm actually surprised with how little this took! Ray's backpack was a pain to make, but I think it turned out fine. I'm very happy with Emma and Ray's heads!!

#6: Manga dub: Formalities

Date: Apr 12th, 2021 Time: ~ 5:31 h It is not always easy to give sense to Demizu's perspective, but I do my best!!! In this I am *so* happy with how Don and Ray turned out, they look neat! The background on the other hand... It took hours to make ahah. I'm not fully confident in the perspective, but I'm happy with the details I've added- I really did my best to make it look like athe other manga panels and I think it paid off!!!

#7: Manga dub: We may be weaklings, but we're still alive

Date: Apr 30th, 2021 Time: ~ 1:37 h This little Emma is so cute!!!!!! I think the redraw turned out pretty perfect. I'm really satisfied with how this one turned out, and it's such a cute little Emma!!!! She's so brave and optimistic, I love her. It's a shame this panel didn't make it to the episode :')

Date: May 7th, 2021 Time: ~ 8:44 h lmao This is probably the panel redraw I'm the most proud of ever :') Just think everyone turned out very nice!! The ceiling is not exactly perfect, but it still works somehow. I'm very happy with how Gillian's back turned out!! I don't really like the fading effect on the right, but 8h in I got pretty tired of working on this ahah

Date: May 21st, 2021 Time: ~ 1:29 h I'm very glad for how the Manga dub has been challenging me to learn to redraw backgrounds, something I had quite literally never tried before. It can be a little frustrating, but it's so satisfying to see the final cleaned piece!! With this panel, I also learnt to use copy and paste, which is something I had never done before beyond texture

Date: May 21st, 2021 Time: ~ 3:42 h This is another background that turned out pretty good!! That one Norman is one I knew I would have had to fully redraw sooner or lager- the background was a bonus ahah. I'm very happy with the final result!!

#1: The Promised Neverland manga ending edit

Date: Jun 14th 2020 Time: ~ 12h 41min (5h 45min of cleaning panels in the edit + 5h 37min of cleaning panels that didn't make it to the edit + 1h 19min of resizing) + time spent cleaning panels I've deleted the file of so I can't see lmao This is overall very nice!!! The concept of an Emma evolution through her back is cool, and I think overall the edit turned out very aesthetically pleasing. The concept idea came to me while I was working on the 2019 Emma's birthday edit, a long time before the manga ending announcement- back then I wouldn't have imagined using it in occasion of the manga ending, but I think it ended up making a nice tribute. The colors add a nice touch, since so far my edits had always been black and white- it makes a sweet closure. To make that edit I selected 76 panels of Emma framed from her back; I plan to make other versions of that edit using the discarded panels eventually!

#2: Emma - Chapter 181: Beyond Destiny

Date: Jul 12th 2020 Time: 2h 57min My last edit for the manga 🥺🥺 I think this one is my very "manga ending edit" because to me it really signed the ending of weekly chapters and their weekly chapter edits. It makes me a little sad to look at it, but it's also, I don't know, kinda sweet to see how I grew both in my panel cleaning and as a person since I first started my blog. I'm glad I got into TPN!

#3: Emma birthday edit 2020

Date: Aug 22nd 2020 Time: 8h 54min This one turned out so well!!! Though I used the same concept for all the trio edits, I think this one is the best one. The two panels on the left / two panels on the right alternation combo never fails ahah. The colors are nice (shout-out to my sister for making me a palette), despite the fact that it was hard for the lighter ones to make them work with the images without having those disappear. I'm very satisfied with the panels I chose for this, I think they work really good together! Also, it got me very happy to read everyone's comments saying they liked the fading effect in the last panel :)

#4: Emma + Eyes Close Ups [1/?]

Date: Jan 24th 2021 Time: 5h 55min This one was really nice!! Another idea I got when working on the 2019 Emma birthday edit I was glad to finally execute. Started the edit in September, finished it in December. I'm overall very happy with how it turned out... I hope I will be able to make more in the future!

Date: Feb 23th 2021 Time: 5h 7min (panel cleaning only) Aaaaahh I really like this one!!!! A parallel I love very much, and I'm really happy with how the edit turned out. Fun fact, I completed it on August 26th 2020, but I couldn't find the right moment to post it ahah.

From the Three Character Classic: “people at birth are inherently good”. I want to have faith and courage to hold on the goodness in myself, and to hold on the goodness in the world, no matter how difficult it to do that (Chloé Zhao).

emma’s “confrontation” with lewis- the anime took away a lot from emma’s character (i have a post on that) and made her seem a lot weaker in my opinion. so even though emma didn’t end up fighting him on her own, scenes like this are where she shows her true bravery and strength.

Oh! Also now because of how things are going in TPN, aka running into the forest, I’m feeling we’ll get Yuugo or Lucas in some shape or form. Things like..

1. As morbid as it is, human bones, a noose, etc. Yuugo’s attempt could’ve been propelled forward to keep the theme that he’s a what if version of Emma, bonus points if he carved the names into trees or something like that when he was winding out of what little motivation he might’ve had with the “Don’t give up!” in his notebook. I strongly doubt they’d let a decaying body get in though.

2. Continuing with the postponed attempt, they find him and stop it (they didn’t learn how to move quietly like Yuugo, unless they somehow did with Sonju and Musica, so Yuugo would hear them coming like he did in the bunker originally.) He’d probably still threaten to shoot them, but they have information like the bunker blowing up, the farm purseurs that did it (the ones they sorta MURDERED), and the main fact that Yuugo has nowhere else to go, so why not be their guide?

3. For Lucas, I feel he’d be looking for someone. He rescued all the resistance kids at GP, so he knows his way around the area, and it’d be pretty concerning if someone like Violet went missing. He’d take her place at meeting Emma and things would hopefully kick off from there.

4. Another for Lucas, the malicious writer I am is telling me this guy could be running from a demon. He has a gun and everything, but it’s hard to aim when your balance is off AND you’re running. So if he so happened to fall and drop the gun, if the kids got over in time, one could grab and shoot at the eyes like Sonju told them to. That or they could use their bows? I think the bows are more likely since there have been no guns at all besides the raider’s, and they didn’t even shoot.

There’s also another thing, I feel if they want to keep this quick pace going, they might have Emma meet Oliver first if they still do GP. Assuming she got abducted here of course. Oliver’s the leader directly under Lucas and he’s been there the second longest. So they could either remove Lucas and stick Oliver there (which would be very dissapointing,) or they could just have Oliver find Emma first.

None of these drabbles probably make any sense but I just want to get some ideas out there, I’m desperate here. ;(

Head empty, pre-TPN season 2 thoughts only.

Normally I don’t even bother with hiding spoilers but since the new season is so close I’ll put everything below a cut (if tumblr cooperates) because I do want anime-onlys to enjoy the season with as little knowledge to what madness is about to happen as possible. This is just a bunch of notes that filled my head over the past couple days.. weeks? A long time.. and if I didn’t write them all down somewhere I wouldn’t stop thinking about them.. so if you understand this whole mess, then kudos to you.

So, here’s your post-season 1/ch37+ spoiler warning.

Demon language:

With Mujika and Sonju making their grand first appearances, I hope actually implement the demon language this time?

The only word spoken in the language in season 1 was the demon god’s name, which was just changed to “Him” (sub) or “The One” (dub), so ignoring it there was fine.

Granted, our demon friends don’t say much in their language during the upcoming arc, aside from this moment in ch48, but I can see the anime passing it off as a mere whisper between the two of them just so they don’t have to worry about it.

I don’t recall any of the GP poachers using the language though.. right? Pretty sure they don’t..

Anyways, all I’m saying is that they better figure something out by the Ayshe shows up way later in future seasons.

Episode count? 24?

Short answer: I don’t think so? Did once, but stuff happened. Anyways..

Season 1 ended in March 2019, which is also when we learned we were getting a second season and once we found later on that S2 was originally going to air in October 2020, I immediately thought we were getting about 24 eps.

I thought with all that time between seasons, 24 eps would be reasonable and that S2 would end at ch101. S1 managed to adapt 37 chapters, so 64 chapters in a season twice as long sound decent enough, right?

By the time we reach ch101, it would give us the demon forest, shelter B06-32, Goldy Pond and the short trip to Cuvitidala. (all of which would make this long wait for s2 sooo worth it btw.)

By this point we learn a bunch about the outside world, Norman being alive, what happened to Phil, and the demon bastard himself.

I bring up ch101 as a stopping point because it’s the last chapter before the two year time skip and.. I honestly can’t see them doing a time skip mid-season?

I mean, they could if they wanted to, I guess? Having everyone age up suddenly between episodes via a montage, a quick summary or even flashbacks of what we missed.. but maybe at the start of a season? Not in the middle.

Right now we know anime original scenes are going to be included into season 2 so I’m kinda hoping that once we do eventually reach the time skip we learn more about the search Emma’s group went on for T7W/golden water/temples.

I counted. If S2 does indeed get this many episodes, ep23 (or 22, if there’s a break in between somewhere or whatever) will land on my birthday and you can bet I’ll be beyond happy

HOWEVER! all the hope I once had about a 24ep season vanished due to the clusterfuck that was 2020. Thanks to the worldwide pandemic, many anime were put on hold and pushed back several months, with TPN airing this month rather than the original October date.

It was a bummer hearing about the delay at first but I never complained about it. I much rather have the studios prioritize their employee’s health over production.

Even if S2 did reach ch101, or even Goldy Pond, they would need to find a ton of new voice actors, and with how the world is working now.. eh, I have some doubts.

Cloverworks also has two other series airing this month aside from TPN so needless to say they’ll be a bit busy, especially if employees are still working from home, social distancing, or however they’re managing to produce these anime.

So, episode count.. 12?

The main reason I have a hard time grasping the idea of another 12ep season at all is because.. I don’t know where it’ll be a decent place for it to stop?

S1 ending at ch37 with the kids escaping? Perfect. You can’t question that decision. But now? When a whole bunch of craziness is about happen? How do you choose another perfect moment to end a season with?

No matter how many anime original scenes they have planned for the demon forest, I believe we’ll at least reach B06-32, which will get us to ch52.

Could they go farther? Sure. Perhaps ending at ch59-60? It would leave us off with Emma & Ray leaving the comfort of the shelter to follow Yuugo into yet another demon infested forest, much like how S1 left off, as the escapees left their once safe, comfortable life into the unknown world.

Or end at ch64? After Emma gets snatched by the poachers? It could work. It would certainly leave everyone wanting more, especially us manga readers because goddamn the GP arc would be SO close!

Perhaps ch74 after seeing Norman alive? Just so it’s not a big darn secret anymore to those who are going into this season blind? (how do people manage to stay anime only? i’m not trying to make anyone feel bad.. i’m just impressed? i caught up to the manga right after s1 because i didn’t have the self control to wait!)

Ending on that chapter would be so bittersweet to me.. because you know what appears in ch75 and it’s literally one of the only things I care about.

S2 preview trailers already teased some of the demon forest scenes I’m most excited about, so the only things left that will truly excite me are Yuugo and that darn outfit. (seriously, whenever we do get to see emma in her gp outfit for the first time, someone better scream at me so i can die from happiness.)

Okay, and all the GP kids too.. especially their trio!

Could they fit the Goldy Pond arc into a 12 episode season along with every other event that came before it? I.. seriously hope not? 

Compared to s1, which was very dialogue heavy, GP is about as action packed as we’re gonna get in the near future, and those scenes are going to fly by once they get put into motion.

Quick example (because it was recent and i can’t think of something else atm): the Overhaul arc from My Hero Academia. Off the top my head it was about 40 total ch? That arc took up half of the show’s S4, which was a total 25 eps.

So with the GP ending at ch96, it’ll give us about 20-30 chapters (depending on where you personally see the start of this arc I guess? once yuugo leads the duo through the forest, when emma gets snatched or when the battle actually starts)

If GP were to happen in s2 where there’s 12 episodes.. literally everything would be so fast paced and I don’t want them to rush anything or leave stuff out?

Other options?

It’s very wishful thinking and I would be getting my hopes up for nothing, because I know it won’t happen, but I could possibly see them fitting GP arc if S2 was made up of 18eps?

6 eps for the demon forest, 6 for Goldy pPond, the remaining 6 to accommodate B06-32, Cuvitidala and any other anime original scenes as they wish.

Although fitting about 64 chapters into 12-18 episodes sounds a bit much.. but not really? I seriously have no idea at this point how much story we’re going to cover this season.

Could I perhaps place all my hopes towards a second cour later this year? Like for the summer.. or would I be expecting too much?

This all could’ve been avoided if they just tell us! Seriously, I’ve been thinking about episode count since last year.. and now you have to deal with this mindless chatter of mine.

I’d honestly be okay with another 12ep season though. We waited this long that I’ll just be excited to see all the children again.

Anime-only scenes:

Those 3 days the children spent learning from our demon friends? Yes please! Did you know Emma not only learned how to use a bow and arrow but a freakin’ harpoon as well? Like.. hello?? I must see this!

Perhaps they’ll even adopt some of the extra pages from some of the chapters, like they did in S1 with the flashback of Norman being sick in ep10.

I know this will be such a high hope, but I remember in ch177 how Emma claims that after they escaped, they all remembered how kind Isabella really was, so if they decide to adapt the extras from ch41-42 & ch45, I’ll cry.

And these pages? Cloverworks, please..

I’m literally begging here..

Especially these two! Even though I still doubt we’ll reach Goldy Pond if we get 12eps.. but in the future! Please!

Other random nonsense:

I may or may not get emotional upon seeing Isabella at the very start when she goes to confront Grandma Sarah. If her hair is kept down as it was at the end of S1 then I’ll give the anime staff my sincere thanks.

We only heard 15 seconds of “Identity” and yet it has been living in my head rent free ever since that trailer dropped. I need to hear the full song sooo damn badly, y’all have no idea.

Here’s hoping they don’t cut out the inner monologues again. At this moment I don’t remember any specific ones from the demon forest I want to see but I’m sure they’re present.

I’m ready to die at every cute Chris moment they give us.. and this entire scene where the kids scold Ray. 

Literally every scene with Emma & Ray. They’re my top 2 favorites from this series okay? Of course I’m going to fangirl over them. (they already showed the hug in one of the trailers and i damn near cried)

If we see him, (which i’m sure we will, but i still have tiny some doubts) I hope they give Yuugo a fantastic voice actor.

Also, his nicknames for everyone!! Literally everything about that man I’m hyped for.

Again, very doubtful we’ll get GP in a 12ep season, but whenever that arc decides to grace us with its presence, “63194” better play on full blast when ch92-93 gets animated.

Speaking of music, while I’m completely excited to hear the new OST that Obata has in store for us (thank god he’s doing this season again btw!), I hope we hear some of those unused tracks from the first season, specifically “Their Own Thoughts.”

Every time Emma mentions their future, their goals or how her family will always be together, I’ll cry. (thanks demon god and your stupid reward)

Yes I’ll be doing those reaction posts (if you follow me i’m sure you’ve seen them by now) after every new episode as I do with other series I watch.. once I survive the usual long day at work, avoiding anything TPN related so I can watch in peace and quiet when I finally get home.. damn it, im already so anxious, help.

tpn ch. 180 rant (spoilers)

EMMA I LOVE YOU BUT WHY-

okay, so. i’m kinda at a loss. i don’t know what to think, and i don’t know what to expect.  i had mixed emotions when she looked up and it wasn’t yuugo or lucas (i’m glad she’s alive, but i miss them so badly. i wanna see them again-), but I was expecting... i’m not sure. i wasn’t expecting him to look like santa clause, but appearances aren’t what matter. i’m really glad she found a nice person who is willing to take care of her. i also think the touch of her not having her id number was important and a good touch.  

i’m also glad that she’s in the human world, and still has (even if they’re very slight) a somewhat understanding of what’s going on, and emotions relating to her family. thanks mujika’s necklace :D

but, what happens when she runs into Ray and the others? i feel like the most likely thing to happen will be she doesn’t remember, but is still able to reunite and live with her family. they’ll tell her about what happened, and santa man will probably have to separate from emma. but i’d like to think, if that happens, santa man won’t have to leave emma. he’s taken care of her, i want him to continue to live happily and have a sort-of-family. he could maybe be our substitute for the dads? what if the entire story is actually something sort of like Pandora Hearts, where you could see it as a character explaining everything that happened to another character. what if the story is supposed to be seen as ray (i’m just throwing him out there cos i love him and he’s emma’s bestie <3) explaining everything to emma?

on the other hand, what if seeing them triggers her memories. demon god said that she’d never see them again. if she remembers, will it kill her? reverse the promise? take them back to the beginning of it all? holy crap imagine the last panel being emma waking up in grace field house- 

i feel like this one is less likely, but what if she, most literally, cannot see them. ever again. what if she’s blind to them? physically can’t see them. i can’t see that happening, but i mean... i’m just throwing that out there. 

i feel like the plot twist of emma not remembering (though kinda predictable) was good. i don’t think it’s fixed the... very-not-good that was every arc past the dads’ deaths. it was a good twist tho, in my opinion. i also like that mujika’s necklace is still important, and that there’s a part of her that somewhat remembers even just a liiiiittle bit about her family. in the frame showing her family faintly, it also included yuugo. which made me pretty sad. is she going to have to mourn again...? i feel like his (and lucas’s) death was one of the hardest on her, and i hope she doesn’t have to feel all of that again..

i’d also like to know what santa man’s name is. and what he named emma. just cos i feel like it’s something we should know. i don’t wanna forever know him as santa man :(

overall, what the heck. it’s going to be very hard to wait a week to see what happens aaaaaaa

My Norman Meta from 129-2

Man, I never expecting to get 500 notes on my Norman meta. I predicted around 100, 200 notes at best, every week as usual. But it just BOOM'ed. And many of you guys commented me with reblogs, when you usually don't. It's a little scary actually. Did you guys just feel the same, or you desperately need some assurance that Norman is not turning evil?? I guess it's a bit of both

I guess it'a just the timing, huh. Everyone seems shock that Norman turns this way after the latest chapter. The way he tortured,dissected, and experimented demons himself has left people horrified. He has become the demon instead. The cycle of hatred continues. There's nothing different about him than demons, because both are destroying each other to gain their personal goals. And that's why people are scared and need a reassurance that the boy they love doesn't change.

Since many of you guys seems to be either sad or relieved that Norman is still Norman, I feel like I need to clarify something.

Truthfully, beside the fact that being independent allowed him to be himself, the horror he has seen is really affecting him. Even if he says he doesn't lose his way, he actually has. When Emma said that she doesn't want to kill all of the demons, the old Norman probably might think or reconsider the possibility that human ans demon can coexist. But he just CAN'T. He now only sees Emma's dream as childish, naive, and unrealistic. He doesn't see the possibility that the two species might coexist. He doesn't see the demons as good anymore, he only see them as devil that needs to be obliterated.

And of course, his experience with Ratri family has changed his perspective that not all humans are wishing for their safety. There are humans he can't trust either. Well he already knows that ever since he realized that Mom is not on their side, but that feeling only increased day by day in Lambda. He just met more humans and more horrifying things they've done to them, cattle children. He can't trust other person, and that's why he's super pessimistic about the chance for them to be accepted in human world.

He can only trust his fellow cattle children, because they have been through the same thing as he did. And probably some other people/scientists who helped him escaped from Lambda.

Of course, the extent of that trust is limited. He doesn't trust them fully to be opened with his feelings. He only trust them to follow his lead. He doesn't trust them to share his burden, because he knows they've also been through much things. He doesn't want to burden them any further (that's just how kind he is), and he really feels that only he should bear his burden alone. It's not healthy at all.

Does he know what his subordinates/followers might think about him if he keeps bearing the burden alone? Everyone seems to respect him, so he doesn't see the possibility of betrayal or disobeyment on their side, but what if there's one or two person who likes to move on their own? (Not neccesarily a betrayal though, maybe they just disobey him because they want to help out Norman in their own way).

Would it ruin Norman's plan?

We've seen this example on Emma's side. When Yuugo and Lucas are not coming back during the raid escape, Gillian wanted to go outside to make sure that they're okay. Ray was against this, saying that it would risk them getting find out by enemy.

So yeah, everyone tried to stop their urge to go after them, but not everyone.

Dominic, Alicia, and the 3 others were disobeying Ray and act on their own.

They really have good intention. They want to ease Emma's burden by trying to get information from the shelter without alerting the enemy.

But their carelessness had cost them 3 people died in the process.

Four, including that one kid who tried to retrieve them. And one person seriously injured. (Dominic my boooy)

What I mean is, who can guarantee that Norman won't end up in the same situation as that?

I think it will be a major blow to him, because he vows to never let any cattle children getting hurt again. And there's just many things he doesn't know beside the demons, and that lack of information could be fatal in the long run.

So my point is, Norman is still being Norman, yes, but you can't hide the fact that he has lost his way by being alone. There's nothing holding him back, yes, but that is precisely why things could go wrong.

He is only human afterall, with lots of faults. He only sought the best possible way for them to survive, but there's bound one thing or two that won't meet with his expectations. He can't become a God, there's a limit about what he can do.

And that's where Ray and Emma will come in.

I'm really glad that Emma and Ray decided to investigate the Seven Walls further to help Norman. And knowing it's a shounen manga, there's no doubt that MC is gonna make it back safely. These two can complete all the missing information Norman needs, and together, they can close off each of their weaknesses.

Together, they can overcome anything.

But I think that won't happen until Norman makes a fatal mistake and realizes that he can't do everything alone, and that would require him to open up with them more,

which is not gonna be easy since he is disgusted with himself from the start.

But that's for another topic later.

what's your favourite anime character and why?

“I’ve got quite a few so I’m just gonna take my favourite male and female character from my current top 3 manga.”

“My all time favourite is My Hero Academia, and my favourite character is Ochako. I love how she’s strong and independent, and I really enjoy how she stands up for herself and doesn’t put up with a lot of the shit the boys are ready to put themselves through. Like how against everything she was in Bakugou’s retrieval arc. That was great to be honest. Which brings me to my favourite male character, Bakugou. What I like the most about him is his anti-hero type of character. I remember being really upset when he was kidnapped by the villain league and they ended it on a cliffhanger where he was asked to join the villains because I got so mad it was against everything his character had portrayed so far. He’s a bit of a douche, but he genuinely wants to be a hero. His own type of hero probably. I find that really cool.”

“One I’ve been very into lately with the anime coming is The Promised Neverland. I’ve kind of just skipped it usually in my Jump magazines but then I saw the trailer and caught up on it in one day and it’s pretty damned good. My favourite female character is Emma. I feel like it’s hard to choose anyone else, because even though there are many other female characters she’s the one put most in focus so she’s obviously the one it’s easiest to know about. But I like how caring she is. She’s very strong in her conviction and doesn’t let anything drag her down even if it’s impossible. Like how she wanted to save the entire family even though the odds were very slim. And how she still hasn’t given up on the ones left behind. She’s a very admirable character. As for favourite male I was stuck between Ray and Yuugo, but Ray won me over when he slapped Norman. He deserved that honestly. I like how Ray seems like a morally gray character but is in fact one of the most caring people in the series in his own way.”

“As for the last one I gotta pick something that isn’t actually a Shounen Jump manga, Seven Deadly Sins. I don’t get a chance to read it weekly anymore because I don’t have Shounen Magazine, but I catch up to everything I’ve missed once the tankobon comes out. And here I’m just gonna say Diane. Diane, Diane, Diane. If you hate Diane you don’t exist to me. I actually really like how Suzuki said fuck all stereotypes and made his female character big and strong and his male character small and fragile. But King kind of pisses me off every so often. Anyway. Diane going against everything her clan is for because she values other things and doesn’t see the point in mindless battle? Amazing. It’s not easy to break away from your roots, trust me I know. For male character it’s gotta be Ban. It actually kind of amuses me how he’s not as strong or powerful as some of the others, but he’s so fucking tanky because he can’t die. There are some really hilarious scenes because he just doesn’t give a fuck, and I love it. But even though he tends to be a very selfish character which I guess kind of comes with his sin of Greed, he’s still very caring because he doesn’t want to lose anything. The recent arc with him in purgatory to save Meliodas was so fucking good.”
