In addition to the text below (about headcanons Mr Gap). About his name: 隙間の男 - his name in Japanese looks like this.
隙間 (すきま, suki-ma) means "gap" or "space in between."
の (no) – a particle that shows possession or connection.
男 (おとこ, Otoko) – "man or guy" It turns out his name is called Sukima no Otoko, but his friends call him "F#ck off please" :D
And a bit about which yokai archetype he resembles. Overall, he combines the qualities of many yokai really well, making him such a very aesthetic. But I think these two fit perfectly. Then you remembered a book. It had a strange illustration that stuck in your mind: the eye of a creature peeking out from a crack in the wall.
Mokumokuren (目目連): A yokai whose eyes appear in cracks and gaps, symbolizing constant observation. It’s usually neutral, but its presence can feel unsettling. Oh, and he can also take your eyes. Remember the scene where Mr Silvair seals a crack in the wall, and Mr Gap loses the ability to watch through it? That’s a perfect example of how to deal with this kind of yokai. Just fix the damage. Mr Gap’s eyes are huge, and he knows a lot. Who else would dig through the trash to read articles in a magazine? Sorry, I mean to look at pictures, since he doesn’t understand the language :D Anyway, that’s why he’s the one helping us piece together fragments of the MC past.
Jubokko (樹木子): A yokai tree that feeds on human blood to fill. Mr Gap’s requests for body parts hint at his desire to fill something he’s missing. He doesn’t physically have a heart or a body. I like this concept, as it feels melancholic and sad.

Ooooh since you're doing dandadan now, can I request general headcanons for sick okarun and momo? Like who'd get sick more often, how badly would it affect them, symptoms, caretaking etc? Whether or not it's related to your current wip :)))
YES!!! absolutely anon i am happy to start talking about them...!!!!! You gave me a lot to work with and I tried to include everything you mentioned but if you ever want anything more specific from these feel free to come back !!!! 👽👽💖💖
PS I'm fighting demons on whether to call him Okarun or Ken but he's Okarun for this post since that's what you've called him lol
- Okarun is definitely sick more often but only as a result of his body not being able to handle his Yokai form. Like random high fevers, awful body aches, nausea, tinnitus, nosebleeds (i think even worse things like coughing up blood or absent seizures from over using it)...he's kind of a baby about it, he has a very low pain tolerance and fevers are so overwhelming for him with all of his senses being muddled 😭😭
- Momo isn't necessarily sick often but her similarly her newfound powers give her the gift of frequent headaches and migraines 👍 they don't hold her back most of the time, she just pops a ton of pain killers and moves on (after complaining), but bad with migraines she's huddled up in her dark room and just praying it goes away 😭😭😭
- Momo's fevers don't get as high and aren't as frequent as Okarun's, but the fever really messes with her abilities. She can't use it properly with Any higher temperature, but she gets really weird visual and auditory hallucinations too and she has a hard time distinguishing them from reality. This Deeply concerns Okarun any time he notices and he'll usually pick up on her hallucinations before he realizes she has a fever 😭 she hears him ask her something when he didn't even speak and he's on high alert all of a sudden like, miss Ayase I didn't say anything are you okay what's wrong?????
- Okarun does a good job taking care of Momo if she's sick but he's a tiny bit overbearing (to the point where she might snap and accidently scare him off...she Wants to be taken care of she's just very easily embarrassed) and also Horribly worried. Especially if she's acting weird or quiet he Might cry and she has to comfort him and he feels guilty about it. Vicious cycle lol
- Momo is similarly the overthinker of all time, she's watching all of his movements and focusing on everything he says and does when he's sick because he won't verbalize how he's feeling to avoid worrying her. Dummy. So she tries to figure it all out herself. She takes good care of him though and tries to make sure he's not too overwhelmed 🥺🥺
#i had so much fun writing these thank you anon#anon: danon!#i love them.....my babies#dandadan#dandadan headcanons#momokarun#okamomo#okarun#momo ayase#ken takakura#illness#sick#ask box#fever#nausea#sickfic#tropes#sick character#hurt/comfort

Trying to dissect all the stuff from the Akira Cross audiolog.
Okay so I'm gonna go over all the stuff I feel is notable even if it's fairly obvious. Also I'm bound to miss stuff so if you saw anything I didn't (or have a different interpretation) feel free to chime in with that. ALSO SPOILERS EVIDENTLY THEY WILL BE HERE WATCH THE AUDIOLOG FIRST IF YOU WANT TO AVOID THOSE YEAH OKAY COOL Alot of Akira Cross is a mix of stuff drawn directly from Boy's experience and whatever media he's consumed so picking apart the two will be important in figuring everything out. Akira is an evident stand in for Boy but I'll go over the more interesting stuff with him later because there might genuinely be some foreshadowing in here with all the insane shit that goes on later in the story.
Cross Family is clearly a reference to the D Clan I doubt there's too much foreshadowing on this one so Boy is probably just filling in any gaps with his own stuff here.
Slab is Door. Just like Door, very straight forward. His military rank might be off a bit but this one doesn't require a lot of analysis.
NOW HERES WHERE WE GET TO THE REAL SHIT On my first watch I didn't really think much of all the Yokai/Japan stuff since it seemed like normal weeb kid stuff especially since Markus has evidently been showing Boy alot of anime. However we know the D Family has been to Japan since Markus brings up being there in the Bar Audiolog. I had always assumed Boy's hair was from D's side of the family but thinking about it more, It's entirely possible that Boy's mom is actually Japanese and met Door during that trip to Japan. It's also possible she was a Hunter which is why Boy has ties to the OG hunters (which I'll talk about way later during that segment with Hina's awakening chariot in the- getting off topic). D makes a point of talking about how Yokai are real and they shouldn't bring civilians into their world (unless they see potential in them). Seemingly Boy has been raised entirely in the Hunter Sphere so his mother being a hunter actually does align since Door is such a stickler for the 'rules'. But the Priestess thing is probably just a Boy-ism.
Ryu is probably another Boy-Ism since I doubt he has a secret twin brother. This could potentially be a reference to another member of the D family however. But I don't feel there's enough evidence to suggest that beyond Warhammer parallel which I don't really want to use as primary evidence. We know that at least one of the D Clan has been killed by Vampires and probably several more so Ryu could also be an unintended Boy reference to a member who became a vampire. It's probably not to foreshadow a Markus turn to the dark side since there's another character that is very directly Markus. So I'm just going to mark down Ryu as; Boy-ism that might parallel another D Clan member but probably not.
Another direct reference with his time training with slab is obviously inspired by the time he spends at the gun range with Door. But the experimental weapons line is probably just a Boy-Ism since it's just the Halo gun.
I genuinely have no fucking clue what Gilgamesh represents here and I can't help but bust my ass laughing every time I rewatch his reveal. This feels more directly related to D which I'll go over.
So this whole section is- fucky to the say the least. D is ALWAYS confident in everything he says so I don't know if he's saying this because "I WAS THERE AND I MET GILGAMESH" or "THE SCHOLARS ARE WRONG GILGAMESH WAS CLEARLY-" and it could go either way with him. But since he talks about Gilgamesh like "I knew he was a vile fiend but this is a new low" makes it seem like he probably doesn't know Gilgamesh directly.
Door death flags continue to slowly mount. I don't think he'll die anytime soon but theres likely gonna be some major conflict between him and the other members of the D Clan. Akira's family's deaths and D's reaction to them is again, notable. When I was first watching my first thought was "Oh he's having this reaction because it happened to him". But then the reveal that D is just genuinely invested in the story to the point of tears is very funny.
So Akira's heritage is again something to bring up. Half-American, Half-Japanese, Half-Nephilim, Half-Yokai. I feel we can knock off the Yokai as a Boy-Ism. I doubt he's Half-Nephilim directly but it's such an interesting thing to call out since they're a weird reference to make here. The WoD Lore I could find on them is pretty scarce but they're essentially the children of humans and fallen angels, fairly similar to early Abrahamic texts referencing their existence. In classic WoD Hunter lore they were humans who were chosen by angels which turned them into the imbued. I feel like this is notable since Boy seems to be becoming an imbued. (Again, Later) Okay so here's a bit of a hard thing to decipher. Ironically Akira's School could be drawn from experience or purely a Boy-Ism because it's never really all that clear if Boy actually goes to school. This episode in particular talks about D taking on alot of Boy's schooling but I vaguely remember comments from another Audiolog about some british kids calling Boy "Meat" and Door not really understanding the insult. It does show however that Boy has been effected by the hunter life since he's made a world where anyone could be a hidden enemy. It shows that D's (rightful) paranoia has rubbed off on him.
I think Hina is just a pure Boy-Ism. Her being a secret angel might play into his imbued potential and later stuff. But yeah I don't think Hina represents anything here. and Combat Boots.
Alright so Mars is clearly Markus also why does he look like Gogeta as a final fantasy villain. I feel like this is one of those moments that was missing from the story cause it genuinely gives Markus a moment where he feels appreciated. When the time comes that Markus is given the opportunity to do some fuckshit I have the feeling this will be the moment that stops him.
My gut feeling tells me that this lineup for the Gilgamesh goons is foreshadowing the major antagonists of each arc (maybe). Jack the ripper visually resembles Pyotr with the teeth, ears, and long black hair. The fact he gets fought multiple times also relates back since they fought Pyotr in the cave then in their house. Florence could be implying that one of the maids is the ghoul in the current arcanum arc. No clue about Polluck and Andre the giant. And this kinda entirely depends on who the ghoul is since if it's anyone else this whole vague theory instantly falls apart.
I don't think the Chiroterrans themselves represent anything. Maybe the ancient vampires but I kinda doubt that, they seem like a Boy-Ism to explain why vampires exist since he probably wouldn't know about Caine. However the fact they team up with Akira at the end to fight the war against HORSE does show the shift in Boy's mental state. We know he already has a more 3 dimensional view of vampires based on the times he gets weirdly deep 'Do you think this is what happens when one throws away their humanity and embraces their inner monster' as it directly shows he now sees HORSE as the main threat and the vampires just as another group.
The Merkabah is another thing that points towards Boy becoming an imbued since he would have no reference for a dream like this. I've already gone over the surface level of the imbued so no point repeating it.
Also Markus might also become Imbued (or a mage since thats a thing that I've heard vaguely of un-awakened mages getting but I don't have a source to back that up beyond "just trust me bro" so I could be totally wrong here) unless he's just being sarcastic here which is totally in character
I feel like this could be another accidental foreshadowing thing since there are some theories and suspicions about there being a werewolf in the chapterhouse right now. So we'll see what happens with this or if it's just another random Boy-Ism
Again, stuff like this is why I think this whole story is more important than just a random boy writing session. They literally do this at the start of every arc. Also IT SHOULD BE NEXT SAGA BOY BECAUSE HE FIGHTS THE FIVE GOONS THAT WOULD BE IT'S OWN ARC ITS CLEARLY MULTIPLE ARCS SO IT SHOULD BE THE GILGAMESH SAGA FIRST OKAY that was I was thinking about that okay I just had to say it
Theres probably a reference in the spartan spacemarines being called the crimson dragon blades but I know nothing about halo and my knowledge of 40k is also not great. and I don't know where to put this and it isnt important but Ryu's final form looks like Asmodeus from iruma kun and I can't unsee it
The final thing to consider is Horse himself. I've spent the last few days thinking about one main thing; Is horse actually evil or is he just really bad with kids?
And I don't know. I feel like they're using this to set up a swerve where since Horse is Horus we're expecting him to turn evil, but it's revealed he's just bad with kids. But he could just as easily be some sort of demon or other awful thing possessing horse.

The Momo Withdrawl
Read more here.
.
“Are you really going to be ok?” Okarun asked, fiddling with his glasses, then reaching up to fiddle with his hair. No matter what he tried, he couldn’t keep his hands still. He didn’t know what to do with them.
Miss Ayase was leaving.
For a week!
A whole week. She was leaving…
“Are you going to be ok,” Turbo Granny parroted with a sneer, one laced with aggravation, “you think we can’t protect Momo?”
“N-no!” he quickly eased. “I, I’m just… worried… I can’t help it!”
His hand was now going all over his head, messing with his hair, rubbing his neck, or adjusting his glasses. It only went still when Momo grasped it, giving it a squeeze.
With a smile, she reassured, “It’s going to be fine, Gran and I did these training camps all the time. It's been long overdue since it's been so chaotic.”
Okarun just nodded stiffly.
“Why are you all here?” Seiko grumbled aloud, making an unhappy tch as she closed the door behind Vamola, locking it.
“We had to see your glorious self off, Auntie!” Jiji declared, jamming finger guns forth.
“Jiji you're a genius,” Seiko praised immediately.
“We're also here to let you know that we will keep things safe in your absence,” Aira declared, setting a hand on her chest.
“We're only going to be gone for a week,” Momo said, rolling her eyes.
“A lot can happen in a week!” Aira exclaimed, “And as the leader, I thought I'd let you know.”
“A lot can happen in a week,” Okarun mumbled fretfully.
“Nothing is going to happen,” Momo eased. “Really. You guys will see us in a few days.”
“Don't show up!” Seiko snapped, “I don't want to feed you lot. I’m not made of money.”
“Aw, I'll miss out on your amazing cooking, Auntie?”
“Jiji is the exception. Now come on! Our lift's here, and we're losing daylight!”
Momo gave Okarun a quick peck before running to the car, escaping Okarun’s reaching hand after her. She promised aloud, “I'll text you tonight! See you guys!”
“See you…” Okarun mumbled, watching as the whole Ayase family piled in, barely hearing Jiji and Aira call out their goodbyes and well wishes.
And only for a week, he told himself.
Miss Ayase will be back in a few days. Time would surely fly.
She was going to be fine.
He was going to be fine.
It was just a week without her.
A week without her smile.
Her voice.
Her warmth…
The car purred to life, and for Okarun, the world felt like it was on a stand still. The only thing in motion was that car. A car that was taking Miss Ayase away.
For a week, he reminded himself.
Just a week.
It was going to be fine.
Just… fine…
The car went further and further away down the road. Miss Ayase was going farther and farther from him.
Miss… Momo was almost out of sight.
…
He wasn't strong enough.
“Momo!” he howled, tearing after the car, shifting into his yokai form.
“We got a runner!” Jiji cried out, booking it after him.
“Takakura!” Aira shouted after him, transforming herself, speeding after Jiji. Her hair reached forth, grabbing Okarun’s back leg, dragging him to a stand still.
Long nails dug into the dirt, Okarun turned his bright red eyes to Aira. “Let go!” he growled, black maw opening up and hissing. He kicked his back leg to try and free it.
“You need to let her go!” Aira insisted, straining to hold him. Damn, he has some strong legs…
Seeing Jiji was nearly upon him, Okarun started to try and crawl away, sinking his nails into the dirt, straining to follow Momo.
Matching him in determination, Aira held firm, gritting her own maw to try and hold him in place, growling herself.
Jiji booked it past her, scooping up Okarun with ease. While Okarun was roughly Jiji's own height in this form, as Jiji tilted his friend higher, Okarun lost contact with the ground. He could only flail helplessly in Jiji's grasp before going limp in accepted defeat.
Jiji and Aira both sighed in relief.
In the car ahead of them, Seiko watched the whole thing from the side mirror, breathing out a quiet sigh of relief when they successfully caught Okarun. Thankfully, Momo was oblivious to the speed demon nearly catching up to them, more interested in reading up on their upcoming campsite. And Vamola was having fun pressing on Turbo Granny's paws, seeing claws slide out and back. Seiko was certain if Momo or Vamola knew that Okarun tried to catch up, he would’ve been joining them on this trip, but this was a training routine Seiko wanted for Momo only.
A distraction was the last thing she wanted to tag along.
And for Momo, Okarun was a huge distraction. She now wonders if she should’ve set some barrier down to prevent Okarun from following them, in case he escaped Aira and Jiji.
Seiko blew out a slight scoff.
What was with her granddaughter and the guys she dated so far?
They were either assholes or way too clingy.
It was annoying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Awkwardly, Jiji carried Okarun back to the Ayase residence, Aira hanging close just in case he tried to race after the Ayases again.
Thankfully, Okarun seems to have accepted that Momo was just going to be gone for the week.
Jiji slowly let him go, him and Aira at the ready.
Okarun stood for a moment, then just straight up collapsed.
“Okarun!”
“Takakura-kun!”
They both kneeled down next to him.
“Are you ok?!”
“What's wrong?!”
“I miss Momo,” Okarun bemoaned.
Aira rolled her eyes while Jiji rubbed the back of his neck.
“She'll be back later, dude,” Jiji eased.
“That's going to take forever,” Okarun declared, rolling away from Jiji.
“Now, now, Takakura-kun, this can be our chance to spend some quality time together!” Aira cooed. “We haven’t done that in a while!”
“Don't wanna,” Okarun sighed, rolling away from her. "The idea makes me wilt..."
Aira gaped in offense.
“Oooooh! Full wipe out!” Jiji cried out, jabbing towards Aira teasingly.
“Shut it!” Aira snarled, face going red.
“Momo one! Aira zeroooo!” Jiji continued, darting away as Aira tried to hit him. She pursued the tall boy, shouting that he needed to shut up.
As the two squabbled and ran about, neither noticed Okarun slowly crawling away, right towards the Ayase homestead. Sitting up at the door, he used his long nail to unlocked the front door. Slipping inside, he startled the two friends to attention as the door closed behind him.
Aira and Jiji exchanged a glance.
“Do you think Auntie would mind if any of us were in her house while she's gone?” Jiji asked.
“I would!” Aira exclaimed, hurrying after Okarun, Jiji on her tail. “Takakura-kun! Let's not break into people's homes! We can go to a park!”
“Yesh! We can play some soccer! Wouldn't that be fun?” Jiji added.
“No it wouldn’t!” Aira grouched.
Jiji made his Muppet face at her. “Mamp! Mamp!”
“Ugh,” she uttered in disgust. “You're so immature.” She glared around the home, trying to spot Takakura. It was kinda unnerving to be here with no Momo or Seiko, the usually cozy home seemed to press upon them, watching them as if Seiko herself knew they were there uninvited, wasn't happy about it, and was glaring at them.
Not quite knowing all that the medium could do, Aira wouldn’t be surprised if that was something Seiko could do.
They had to get out quickly.
Not able to stop the nervous gulp, she hurried in to try and find Takakura. While she explored the first floor, Jiji went upstairs. He started at Momo’s room andas he opened the door, he was immediately met with an intense pressure in the air that had him instinctively freeze up. A low, warning growl rumbled out, and within the dark room, Jiji could see the shine of Okarun's big glasses staring at him.
Jiji closed the door and the ominous atmosphere dispersed. Within, Okarun was now quiet too.
“I found him!” Jiji called.
Aira came booking it upstairs, scoffing to see Jiji by Momo’s room. She exclaimed, “He seriously went in there?!”
“He does miss her,” Jiji reasoned. "That's the closest to Momo he's going to get."
“It hasn't even been five minutes!” Aira snapped, opening the door. She too was met with a warning growl and an intense pressure, but unlike Jiji, she ignored it, flicking on the lights.
There was Okarun, laying on Momo’s bed, glaring at them for having the audacity to show their faces here.
Not the least bit intimidated, Aira stomped right up to Momo's bed, pointing her finger at the ground. She stated sternly, “Takakura-kun! That is not your bed!”
Okarun hissed at her, red eyes blazing.
Aira gaped at him, then narrowed her eyes. Waggling her finger at him, she warned, “You did not just do that.”
Okarun narrowed his eyes, as if debating if he should be nervous or not. He decided then that Aira didn't warrant any unease and stood up, coming to loom over Aira.
"Aira," Jiji warned, "maybe you should come out." Jiji reasoned, if need be, they could just leave Okarun here. He would think Auntie and Momo would understand, given he's very volatile and upset right now.
Aira didn't share his unease, glaring up at him confidently, feeling she knows Takakura better than anyone. "He's not going to hurt me," she declared. "He's going to listen, cause I'm his friend and his leader."
In her overconfidence, she was caught off guard as Okarun grabbed her, and in seconds, she was at Momo's door, shoved into Jiji and the towering cursed yokai shut the door on them. With a click, it was locked.
The two friends had a second to stare at the door.
And then the anger ignited in Aira.
"Takakura!" she yelled, stepping away from Jiji and starting to hit the door. "You open this door right now, Mister!"
"Go away," Okarun growled from the wooden frame.
"This is not your room! Or your home! We're leaving now!"
"No. I'm staying until Momo-chan is back."
"Maybe we just need to let him," Jiji tentatively voiced, "he's going to be hard to move- -" Jiji immediately held up his hands in surrender when Aira turned her glare to him.
Shifting into her own yokai form, Aira used her hair to pick the lock and opened, just in time to see Okarun rolling himself up in Momo's blanket, becoming a blanket burrito, with only his black maw sticking out past the bright pink sheets. It was a clashing sight.
It was Okarun's own undoing though as Aira took the chance to pick up the burrito with her hair, carrying the hissing Okarun out of the house. He thrashed and squirmed in the sheets, but Aira held firm, her hair not giving him a chance to move much. Jiji closed Momo's door behind them, and hoped they'll be able to get Momo’s covers back to her bed before she came back home. Though he had a feeling Okarun wasn’t going to let the covers go that easily.
As Jiji relocked the front door, Aira proceeded to chuck Okarun into the shrine.
Okarun’s angry growls was suddenly silenced as soon as he was within the shrine, leaving the bundle of pink covers to drop to the ground. For a moment, the lump within them laid still, not moving. Her agitation soothed by the quiet, reasoning he was now back to his senses, Aira called out, “Takakura-kun? You ok?”
The lump shifted, and Okarun sat up, though still covered by the blanket. “Yes, I, I am. I’m sorry Miss Shiratori, Jiji, I didn’t mean to cause you trouble.”
“It’s no big!” Jiji eased as he came to join them. “We know you just get moody in that form, it’s ok.”
Okarun just sagged a little.
Aira’s heart went out to him. That was Takakura-kun for you, always so sweet, so considerate, so—
Okarun uttered aloud, “I just really miss her…” he flopped over to the floor, looking like a depressed bundle.
Obsessed.
“Uuuugh, Takakura-kun, seriously, she’ll be back in a week,” Aira grouched. “And I’m here, I can hang out with you!” This was her chance to prove to him that she was better than Momo. That they’d be happier together.
But that’s impossible if he can’t get over her absence for a mere week .
“Thank you, Miss Shiratori,” Okarun said, “but I don’t really feel like hanging out right now. I’ll just… head home.” The word came out so awkwardly, as Okarun glanced over at the locked Ayase residence. He gathered up Momo’s covers, wrapping them around him as much as possible, trying to keep the blanket from touching the ground. As soon as he stepped out of the shrine, he shifted back into a yokai, slouching low.
Okarun turned to eye the Ayase homestead, and for a moment, they thought he was going to head in to stay there, only for Okarun to adjust Momo’s blanket and start to lumber his way to the road.
“I can walk you home, Takakura-kun!” Aira offered, immediately shadowing him.
“Nah, you’re making me wilt,” Okarun stated flatly.
“Ooooh,” Jiji uttered, lips pursed into an ‘o’.
Aira’s jaw went slack once more. Face going red, she murmured, “You did not just say that.”
“Really, your pushiness is wearing me out,” Okarun admitted, sagging before. “I just want to go home… I want Momo.”
“Shut up about Momo!” Aira screeched, grabbing him and shaking the speed demon about.
Okarun just took it, barely noticing the jostling.
“Aira, chill out!” Jiji cried, trying to separate the two, only for it to get worse as she transformed with her heightened emotions, her hair starting to entangle everyone in her outrage and whipping about in her upset.
“Bummer,” Okarun declared as he was hung upside down, while Jiji tried to sort through the mass of hair as Aira had her fit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a long week of training, Momo was tired.
But not so tired enough to not be antsy to get home.
The girl impatiently tapped her foot on the car floor, glaring at the rice pools around them, as if their mere existence was slowing them down.
She was ready to be back in her own bed. The comfort of a mattress instead of the hard dirt Gran had them sleep on. Ready to eat actual food and not have to catch fish out of the creek. Ready to be able to use her phone again instead of the endless nature, pretty at first but got old fast.
And she was ready to see Okarun again.
She hadn’t realized how tied to the hip they were, she thought a week would’ve been fine but it was unbearable.
She’s ready to let him hold her hand for as long as he wants.
She’s ready to cuddle up and hug the living daylights out of him.
Hear about the latest news in aliens that he’s found.
She missed him so much.
Vamola gasped aloud, pointing to the window. “Our friends!” she exclaimed.
Momo looked, seeing Aira, Jiji, and Okarun were waiting for them in front of their torii gate. Jiji was waving wildly and hopping around. Okarun was beaming and for some reason wrapped up in her blanket? And, was Aira crying?
“The hell?” Momo uttered.
“Tch. I said only Jiji could come,” Seiko muttered.
As soon as the car came to a stop and Momo started to come out, Okarun ran towards her, crying out, “Momo!”
“Okarun!” she returned happily, opening her arms to accept his hug.
Only to not get it as Aira slammed into Okarun, sending him flying into a nearby rice pool and then proceeded to tackle Momo, nearly sending her back into the car.
“Momo!” Aira cried out, clutching the winded Momo tightly.
“Aira?” she managed out.
Aira drew away, pleading, “Never ever leave again! Don’t leave me alone with him! He was unbearable!”
Momo blinked at the bawling Aira in confusion and surprise. “You mean Okarun was?”
Jiji came to join them, revealing, “Let’s just say it’s been a long week of mood swings.”
“Miss Shiratori!” Okarun sputtered, popping out of the pool, crawling onto the land. “Why would you do that?” he questioned, adjusting his glasses, his eyes starting to seep red.
This time, it was Aira who shifted into a yokai, giving him an angry hiss.
Okarun flinched a little, his eyes returning to brown, mumbling, “M-my apologies…”
“Okarun!” Momo called out, still in Aira's hold, “Why do you have my blanket?”
Okarun had a start, then looked down at the very, very soggy and dirty pink blanket he had swiped from Momo’s room. “Aaaah!” he screamed, leaping to his feet. “I’m sorry, Miss Ayase! I’ll make sure to get it cleaned and dried right away!”
He raced towards the Ayase homestead, Seiko barely dodging the flustered boy as he slammed into the front door in his frantic rush, falling backwards.
Seiko snapped, “Let me unlock the damn door first, Four Eyes!”
“Seriously, why does he have it? What happened while we were gone?” Momo asked, as a current of apologies bubbled out of Okarun, filling the air with frantic babble while Seiko snapped at him to calm down.

I've done my take on lord Enma's mother... so here's his father
The God of messengers, Hermes himself! For those who recall, I made Hecate as the missing link between Enma and achient enma(I don't acknowledge the forever friends twist. XP) and the witch of the crossroads has a couple different consorts.
Of them, I figured hermes was the most fitting as: he's the one Greek God yokai watch acknowledges by name!
Via the hermes badge, we know he exists in the yokai watch universe in some capacity. So, he made the most sense to appear!
As for him being Enma's father, I imagine a lot of Enma's more mischievous nature comes from dear old dad. Hermes is a trickster God, known for his quick mind and clever tactics. Father and child share the same dislike for monotony and willingness to bend the rules.
Hermes was among the gods who had the easiest time adapting to the modern day. Especially with the advent of online shopping combining two of his godly domains. Him and his agents have formed the most efficient shipping agency in the yokai world. Same day delivery: guaranteed.
Hermes is an A rank of the Slippery tribe, a wind attribute, and is unique in that he is, undeniably, the FASTEST yokai in the world. His speed Stat is *max.* of course to make up for it, he is a bit of a glass cannon with ridiculously low defense to compensate.
His soultimate "just the messenger" where her rapidly attacks his opponents with weak, but numerous strikes.
I hope you enjoy this godly parent of a yokai!

Feliz véspera de natal! Tem alguma ideia de como os yanderes iriam passar essa data??
- anon que gosta de uva passa
Christmas Time!
Translation of the ask: Since we are in the Christmas eve spirit, what do the yans do for Christmas? In English for you all to enjoy!
Anon, posso te chamar the 🍇 anon? Por causa da uva passa? KSKSAKSAK
I will use Christmas as a base, but you can exchange it for other holidays accordingly! MORE UNDER CUT!!!
Kouta - I don't think Christmas or any of those are big for him because he is a yokai stuck to time, but I imagine he would like to spend time cozying with you since it would be cold. You are brushing his tail while he tickles you gently with his nails brushing over your skin. Def slowly blinked at you, heart in his eyes.
Probably hunts for you both in advance and he is an impeccable cook (a God's servant, he had to keep himself in line.) so you might get some winter weight! If you do not eat meat, he would struggle, but he would learn to pickle things so you could enjoy it in the colder months.

Beau - Watched the farm owners make big dinners for the holidays but never got any of it. His sister tried to make it a good day for him though, giving him some food she got from farm hands that felt bad.
In present times though, I presume he doesn't get much momentum to celebrate, since he works in Grandma's bakery, and it's a terribly busy time of the year. I like to imagine that he takes the time to bake something with Grandma together, closes shop and takes her to rest. She sleeps super early I'm sure. Then he would go out with you, bring you some hot cocoa (if you want with his milk or not, you choose) and go see the visuals. He loves Christmas lights.

Dae-Ho - I tried looking for how Koreans celebrate Christmas and if I get it wrong I'm sorry!
His parents usually aren't home at Christmas. He is an only child so he usually spent it alone, or with a nanny. The few times he actually had some fun on Christmas is when one or both of his parents were available, then they would invite work friends for a get together, have some finger foods by the chef instead of a big dinner and later at night he plays cello for the guests. He knows how to play piano and cello!
Got many gifts as a kid, but nowadays his parents don't bother giving him red envelopes with money or anything because he has a black card so.... I'm sure his dad got him permission for one of your trials for a gift once and it was the best Christmas for him. If you're together you do that but he plays instruments for you only, and swarms you with gifts.

Ramune - Never celebrated it, but once you explained it he got ecstatic. He loves parties and shiny things, and likes to get you gifts. (At the expense of his victims) And guess what, people get a lot of shit this time of year!
Def wants to have lots of sex before, while and after you open his gifts. Doesn't eat so he just vibes with you watching Christmas movies. Is the type that would wear ugly sweaters. Also if you get him something prepare to be sucked dry.
This is a New Years thing but I wanted to add! In Spanish tradition you have to eat twelve grapes at each chime of the clock for good luck. He would 100% do that. (My abuela did it and I miss it)

Mono - Also didn't have Christmas in hell, but knows about good feasts! His family loves to eat, so he would love to have a nice dinner, that is after you explain to him humans don't eat wood. He would try to make you a pie or something but almost burn the kitchen. Crying sorrys as you clean it up.
Good for the winter months tho, cuz he is very cozy! So you could just cuddle at home, or even go out! You won't ever feel cold around him. Prolly hates fireworks, but will watch a show if you like them.

Éliphas - in his lore, unicorns are a pagan God's favorite living beings, so I imagine he does celebrate the holidays, but in pagan ways! Also a good cook, considering you are never eating meat. (His food isn't vegan because I imagine there are animals like chicken and all in the domain) Doesn't snow there, so you both stay stargazing while he thanks the Gods for their blessings and dances with you. Will begrudgingly make a magic show for your entertainment.
His gifts tend to be homemade, and meaningful. You like to paint? He makes a whole set of brushes and paints for you. Clothes? He can sow, so he will make your clothes prettier than one of royalty. Likes animals? So does he! Gets you a place to care for your lil' critters.
It's also the time to prepare for the new year, so he makes spells to leave things behind to welcome anew. Whether that be feelings or physical
Also def has sex with you as an offering for the Gods (he's doing a spell of letting go! Letting go of his virginity LOL)

Summary
With the last of her family passing away, Momo had nothing to her name but spiritual powers no one can know about.
To escape her fate as concubine to the local Shogun, she leaves her birth town and becomes a Wandering Miko.
But as an untrained Shrine Maiden she had no luck fulfilling her expected duties and she refuses to entertain men for money.
Surely a con act together with the Yokai she had sealed a pact with was a good alternative, right?
This chapter is very conversation heavy, but those two have a lot to talk about and getting to know each other!
Thanks to my Beta @xylveon700 as always. ❤️

Treating your own wound with just one hand was more tricky than Momo had anticipated. Granted, the Yokai had offered her his help, but she refused it. She was an adult, she could take care of herself. But after having to endure his pleading eyes, she relented and allowed him to help her cut the bandages with his sharp claws. And that was all!
While wrapping her arm, she kept glancing over to him. He had sat down across from her, their knees almost touching in the small space of the cave, and just watched her patiently. The longer she could feel no threat from him, the more relaxed she became. Absently she wondered if she had seen an illustration of his kind before. Somehow those red eyes, the hair and maw looked...familiar? She just couldn't put a finger on it, so she shoved it into the back of her mind.
"You're a stubborn one," he said amused when she finally tied the bandage with one hand and her teeth.
"Thanks for noticing," she chirped in a fake sweet voice, before she got her medical supply ready again. "Give me your right hand," she demanded.
"What for?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, but still held the requested hand towards her, which she immediately grabbed. "Because I stabbed you. That must...hurt?" Her sentence had started out annoyed, but as soon as she took a look at his hand she stopped. Instead of a fresh stab wound, she only found a scar across his palm.
"Ah. That won't be a problem," he said. Too confused about this, she missed the softness in his eyes and voice. "Appreciate the concern tho."
"How?" she mumbled, staring at his palm she still held in hers as if she waited for it to give her an answer. Absently she noticed how his fingers were more like claws and were tinted black. "I'm sure I pierced through your hand when it was still a claw and I saw it bleeding when you turned back."
"You did and really hurt," he halfheartedly whined, but Momo just glared at him, so he tried to appease her with an attempt at an answer. "We Yokai are more resilient than you humans."
"I know that." she huffed and tapped her sword that was attached to her thin belt. "But this is a blessed sword. I know that Yokai have better healing abilities, but weapons like this should stop you from healing so fast."
"Good point." He looked at his hand and flexed it in her hold experimentally, talking more to himself than her. "Haven't been attacked by a blessed weapon until this day, so I don't know. Also usually don't get scars. Might be that the dragon's curse has something to do with it."
"Dragon's curse?"
His eyes met hers and he nodded. "Turning into a dragon is not one of my...natural abilities."
The Yokai didn't elaborate at first, but Momo's curiosity was piqued. She let go of his hand and leant back against the wall of the cave and made him understand, with a little wave of her hand, that she would like for him to continue. He heeded her unspoken request with a sigh as he settled back on his side.
"It started to happen every full moon for a year now. Unfortunately, I have no memory of how it happened." She quirked an eyebrow at that, but he ignored it. "I visited the area where I first came into existence. Next thing I knew was that I was not...myself anymore. When the dragon takes over, I'm not in control. No amount of fighting it got me free. This was the first time I turned back before the curse allowed it."
"I know of people getting cursed by evil spirits, but never that a Yokai itself got cursed," she murmured, hand on her chin in a musing gesture. Then she gave him a side eye. "You sure you don't just lie through those big teeth of yours?"
"I swear on the favorite pincushion of my grandmother," he said in an absolutely deadpan voice, having one hand on his heart and holding up the other.
Was...was he making a joke? Momo certainly could see the mirth glinting in his eyes and she couldn't help herself but to chuckle.
"You are a funny one, huh?"
"Thanks for noticing," he said with a purr, mimicking her earlier fake sweet sentence.
Momo was torn between being infuriated about this Yokai not taking this more seriously and being...amused.
"Okay, okay. Let's say I believe that you are the victim of a curse and that you conveniently cannot remember how you got it-" he hummed affirmative "-what was that attack about? Why the peach field?"
"What can I say?" he just shrugged. "I like peaches."
On the outside Momo just looked unimpressed at him, her slight shake the only indicator of what was going on inside. It was so hard for her to suppress a laugh. A lot of boys had tried to woo her with phrases regarding peaches and her. And this poor guy probably did the cheesiest of them all. It was hilarious, but also endearing, since he did it unintentionally.
With her just staring at him, he let out a sigh.
"Look Miko-san. It's not like I can just stroll to the market and buy some. The lord who owns these fields is a cruel bastard, so I don't feel bad for stealing some of his."
"And what about the farmers? There was no need to rampage as a dragon when you know you would turn during the full moon."
"I...might have forgotten about...that," he said sheepishly. Momo just stared at him for a moment.
"Haaah?" She leapt forward, grabbing him by the collar and shaking him in anger. "How in the hells can you forget something like that?"
He just let her shake him and leant his head away from her, trying to look nonchalant while doing so.
"They were about to harvest the peaches. Not much time to steal, too focused on that," he tried to explain himself with a whine. She gave him another good shake before she let go of him and huffed.
"And people complain that I only ever think with my stomach."
As if on command, her stomach started to growl like a wild beast. Embarrassed by her body's betrayal, she turned away from the Yokai. Looked like whatever little effect the stale bread had from earlier had vanished after the exhausting fight.
An amused hum came from him. She was about to bark at him, but she noticed that his eyes were glowing. So were the stripes on his face and hair. Ghostly flames emitted from the collar and tail end of his robe.
Momo tensed, feeling his previously calm aura flaring up, her hand ready to pull out her blade. Was he about to attack her? But he still looked relaxed, despite his glowing eyes, and she could feel only...concern?
"Wait a moment," he said, before he was...just gone. A gust of wind inside the cave was the only indicator that he didn't just disappear, but moved very quickly.
Where in the hells was he going? And was that speed one of his own abilities? She remembered the dragon was also able to zoom around very fast. Probably not as fast due to the larger body.
She just hoped he would actually come back. So far he seemed to be very obedient for whatever reason and didn't seem to harbor any ill intentions towards her. Mulling over his story, Momo wondered what she should do about him. She was glad that she didn't kill him, as he was just a victim of a curse. But he seemed to be careless, his hunt for peaches almost costing several people their lives. Should she help him get rid of the curse? If it truly was coming from a dragon, then it was a powerful one, something that couldn't be exorcised so easily. Not that she was an expert in the first place. And they barely had any information about the nature of the curse. Could you even exorcise something out of a Yokai without exorcising itself too?
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't hear the sound of him running back and got startled when he suddenly stopped at the entrance of the cave in a little cloud of dust he kicked up. The Yokai entered with a chuckle at her clearly alarmed state and held...a peach towards her. Now that Momo looked closer, he had a few dozen of them in his arms. She looked from the fruit in his hand to his face with a frown.
"You can't be serious."
He just raised an eyebrow at her. "Why not? You seem hungry." As she kept just frowning at him, he sighed and sat down on his side. "There are plenty of trees on the field. They won't miss a few fruits."
"I am not eating stolen food!" she insisted and turned her head away. Since she was so stubborn, he gave up and just shrugged.
"Suit yourself."
Momo could hear a krack noise and when she looked at him from the corner of her eyes, she could see how he had opened his maw and just threw the previously offered peach into the black abyss. Certainly not how the inside of a mouth should look like. She kept watching him with morbid curiosity closing his maw. There was no movement from it, only his cheeks indicated that he was somehow chewing.
A deep, appreciative and satisfied hum came from him. Apparently the peach must’ve tasted very good. Momo wondered how good actually.
Her stomach grumbled again. One of his closed eyes opened to look at her.
"W-what about the previous nights?" she tried to distract from the fact that she was starving. "Several hunters went out to get you and that was before the full moon."
"Wasn't me," the Yokai raised his hands in defense, the fruits all stored in his lap. "Those were Kamaitachi. Had to keep those little scoundrels from stealing all the good fruits and hurting the humans."
Kamaitachi would actually explain the cuts the hunters would turn up with. And those little Yokai were also known for being quite fast. He probably protected the hunters from a worse fate than just cuts. His aura was calm as usual, his enjoyment of the fruit palpable.
An even louder and now painful growl of her stomach. His eyes and aura both oozed with concern.
"...You said the lord who owned these fields is a bastard?" Momo asked him with a small voice.
"Treats the farmers like cattle and likes to invite the more beautiful wives and daughters from his workers to his estate." Her stomach churned for a different reason. The Yokai tried it again to offer her a fruit. "If it helps to ease your conscience even more, just see it as your payment for saving the farmers. I'm certainly grateful you stopped me Miko-san."
That was the last bit convincing she needed. Not that he had to do much, her hunger was about to consume any morality she had tried to uphold until this moment. She practically snatched the fruit out of his claws and bit into it immediately. It was delicious! So sweet and the morning dew still clung to its skin, making it even more juicy. Her delight must have been visible on her face, as he chuckled and held several more fruits to her that she took from him. The smug expression in his eyes frustrated her a bit.
"As you should. But you don't own these peaches," she groused and bit into the fruit again. She continued talking, while chewing, pointing an accusing finger at him. "Also, stop calling me Miko-san, I have a name!"
"Well, what is the fair lady's name then?" he asked with a mocking half bow to her, before he threw another peach into his maw. She absolutely picked up on that sarcastic tone towards her bad table manners. An eyebrow twitched in irritation, but then her grin became mischievous.
"Ayase. Ayase Momo." She emphasized her given name.
At first the Yokai just nodded. But when the realization of the meaning of her name hit him, his eyes went wide and he started coughing. Momo tried to hide a snicker behind her hand. She had hoped for a reaction like that.
"M-Momo you say?" he wheezed after he was able to catch his breath, thumbing his chest to get the wrongly swallowed fruit pieces out. She could feel how flustered his aura became. Absently she wondered why it was so easy for her to read his emotions like this. Normally she had to concentrate to even get an inkling how a person was truly feeling. But that was a mystery for later. For now she enjoyed his ruffled state.
"You heard right," she said again in her fake sweet voice. "Don't worry about your comment. Heard worse from guys trying to win me over."
Yep, he absolutely was hacking even more now.
"I-I was not-" he stammered, but was not able to finish the sentence, as she barely could keep her cackling down. He flashed her an angry look, his cheeks clearly a darker shade now. She resisted the urge to point this out to him. Instead, she mercifully let him finish his coughing fit, before she spoke again.
"In any case, it's still Ayase-san for you. We're not that close, so no need to drop the formalities."
"Apologies, Ayase-san," he grumbled, lacing her name with as much sarcasm as he could muster in that moment. Now that he had calmed down again, his attention went to the last peach in his hand, apparently contemplating.
But Momo could see that past his apparently relaxed facade, his aura was still swirling in embarrassment. Again she wondered why it was so easy for her to read him. Was it because he was a Yokai? They were known to have a higher intensity of emotions.
Suddenly he sighed in exasperation.
"Enough with that."
His eyes met her gaze, glowing again in that intense red. Before Momo could ask what he meant, she felt a mental shove that was so strong that her body was jerking back. Her aura sense was pressed back into her own mental space with a force she had never experienced before.
"What the hell did you do?" she gasped in confusion.
"Kicking you out. No idea how a human is able to touch aura like you do, but I let you snoop around, so you could see I'm no threat." His eyes narrowed when she tried to feel his aura again and instead was met with a mental wall around it. "But you're being rude and I would like my privacy back."
"I am not rude!" she said coarsely. He snorted at that comment, before his eyes darted away from her.
"Disrobing me would have been less rude than what you did," he grumbled rather quietly, his cheeks gaining a darker tint again.
"What?" Now it was Momo's turn to flush. Why the hells would he say something like that? He was clearly uncomfortable, so it was not a joke. "W-what do you mean by that?"
Clearly not wanting to answer the question directly, he huffed through his nose and deflected: "How would you feel if someone would come barging into your mind and read you like an open book?"
She would be furious, that was for sure. And...she understood his comparison now, which made her feel hot from embarrassment. Like a child that got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, she tried to shove the blame away from herself.
"Then why didn't you stop me in the first place?" she growled.
"Like I said, to prove to you that I'm not an enemy. And because you humans are usually not able to interact with aura like that. Took me by surprise."
Momo scoffed at that, in her opinion, very weak argument. Riled up by her flurry of emotions, anger and shame, she stood up and glared at him.
"So it's all my fault or what? I had no idea what I was doing!"
Apparently fed up with her bratty behavior, as he also stood up and yes, he was definitely towering over her when not slouching. Not that she was intimidated in the slightest.
"That was quite obvious by the way you acted like an elephant in a tea shop, stomping around in my mind like you owned the place!" he growled back at her.
She couldn't help herself but smirk. Apologizing or admitting that she did something wrong was not her strong suit. Fighting and squabbling? That was a better problem solver for her.
"Don't give me that tone, mister. Or I'll show you what these hands truly can do!"
On command, two spectral hands formed from her back when she went into a fighting stance. He mirrored her, his battle ready gaze sending a rather pleasant shiver down her spine. But before either of them made their first move, his eyes changed to curious and his pose relaxed again.
"How do you do that anyway?"
"Pardon?" she asked, partly confused what he meant and partly because she was disappointed he didn't seem to want to fight.
"Being able to touch auras like you do and creating such tangible limbs from spiritual energy." He poked on one of her spectral hands and gave her an amused side eye. "You sure you're not some kind of spirit yourself?"
"Of course not!" she gasped, not truly offended, but baffled at that ridiculous assumption. "I'm just an ordinary human."
"Nothing is ordinary about you princess," he chuckled. "Especially not these powers of yours."
There was a moment of silence in which both processed how the Yokai had addressed Momo.
"What did you just call me?" she seethed, her eyes full of a fire that made him shrink back down. He did the smart thing and took a few steps towards the entrance, ready to bolt should she decide to strangle him, and just completely ignored her question.
"Just saying, you know about my little dilemma, so I guess it would be only fair if you tell me your little secret." He gave her spectral hands a wary look. "I've seen powerful priests before, but not something like this."
At first Momo didn't want to let it slide that he had called her princess. She was no dainty little damsel for Kami's sake! But she dissolved her spectral hands and gave him a pass. Called it even with her earlier intrusion in his mind. Yes, that sounded just fair.
"Honestly, I have no idea," she answered his question and walked right past him. Outside she turned around to face him again, actively blocking his way to escape. "My grandmother always said that I was blessed by the Kamis and that I am chosen for some grand purpose that I have no fucking clue about," she continued her explanation and waved her hand around, annoyance clear in the gesture and her voice.
"Language Ayase-san," he chuckled, apparently back to being relaxed upon seeing her casual attitude.
With a wide grin on her face she poked his chest. "You don't get to tell me anything."
"Wouldn't dream of it," he said amused and raising his hands in mock surrender. Momo hummed at that in satisfaction. She had to admit, it was nice that he seemed to know when to actually fight her and when to just go along with her antics.
"But yes, that's all I know. I try not to make a big show of my abilities, or some shogun could get the idea to use me, especially the aura reading thing. They would want me to interrogate enemies and allies alike, just to gain the upper hand. Ruthless bastards."
She stopped herself there. Well, if she wasn't the biggest hypocrite in the world. Acting like she had some superior morality and then just went ahead and invaded his mind for her own curiosity. There really hadn't been any reason for her to keep looking after she had made sure he wasn't lying to her. While she was not so good with apologies, he deserved one. As much as she disliked admitting it, she had been rather rude to him, even when he got her something to eat. Calling her princess was not a fair exchange for her trespassing.
She let out a breathless laugh, devoid of any real humor.
"And yet, I just did that to you without thinking. Which...I'm very sorry about," she mumbled, fidgeting with a strand of her hair. Apologizing was the right thing to do. Yet it made her sound so...weak. And that was what she hated about it.
The apology and especially her rather...meek attitude took the Yokai by surprise. Visibly fumbling with what to do, he gave her shoulder an uncertain, but gentle pat.
"It's alright Ayase-san. You didn't know it any better." When she looked at him, with those beautiful eyes that shone with such raw emotions, he quickly retreated his hand and cleared his throat. "Humans probably would never notice if you would touch their aura. We Yokai are just more sensitive to that and only get near each other's aura when we have permission." He paused for a moment holding his massive maw chin thoughtfully. "Which I actually did in a way."
"Huh?" Momo couldn't remember at any point when he gave her explicit permission to do anything like that, unless he counted on nottelling her off in the first place?
"Remember when you pulled my aura out of the dragon's one? That was more than clear consent from me for you to touch my aura. So if anyone is at fault, it is me."
Momo had to snort at that. It certainly was a way to look at the situation. "You're just saying that to make me feel better."
"If you want to believe that," he just shrugged and turned away from her. But then he tilted his head slightly back to look at her with one eye. "Does that work?"
The hopeful tone in his voice did it for Momo and she let out a laugh. It was really sweet of him to try and cheer her up. She was glad that he didn't seem to hold her trespassing really against her.
"Maybe. We should just agree we both were at fault with this whole thing."
"A very wise and diplomatic decision," he hummed in agreement, a twinkle in his eyes. "Your smartness rivals your beauty."
It surely was meant as a simple compliment. But Momo couldn't help herself and blush a little at the way he was looking at her while saying this. He probably wasn't even aware how...flirty he sounded. Which was very endearing.
And so easy to tease.
She walked past him back into the cave and winked at him in a coquettish way.
"Careful there, I might get the idea you're actually trying to court me."
As hoped, he immediately started to sputter and stare at her in shock. "I-I wasn't...I'm not..." Only when she couldn't hold herself back anymore and started to cackle uncontrollably, he realized that she was just messing with him. He slouched, his cheek visibly flushing and grumbled under his breath: "Not funny..."
"On the contrary, very funny," she grinned at him, before she knelt down in front of her basket and packed her previously used medical supplies back in it. He just stood in the cave entrance and watched her.
"Soooo, what's the plan for the mighty Yokai huntress?"
Momo snorted. She could hear he was trying to get back at her by giving her that mocking title. Which absolutely failed. At least it was better than him calling her princess again.
"For now? Going back to the village. I want to make sure that the farmers that you attacked-" she pointed an accusing finger at him, but grinned. "-are all okay."
"'m sure they're fine. Didn't get any of them," he mumbled, but still looked guilty to the side. Which made her in turn feel a bit guilty, so she quickly changed the topic.
"And what about you? Do you plan on getting rid of that curse?"
The deep sigh coming from him told her enough. It probably had been on his mind from the moment on since he got cursed, but no success in getting rid of it.
"I would have no idea where to start with that. As you said yourself, cursed Yokai are not very common," he confirmed her thoughts. He then walked up towards her. "And I have a duty for now." Without giving her the time to question what he meant, he picked up the basket and hoisted it on his shoulders.
"Woha, what do you think you're doing?" she asked, disgruntled at him just picking up her belongings like that.
"Carrying your gear, isn't that obvious?" was his only answer, before he went ahead and left the cave.
"Wha-? Hey, wait up!" Momo shouted and scrambled quickly to her feet to follow him. As soon as she caught up with him, she grabbed his arm to stop him in his track. "Why would you carry my stuff? Are you planning on sticking around?"
Tilting his head slightly, he looked at her as if she was not understanding something very simple.
"You beat me in a fight and had all the rights to kill me. But you didn't, so I owe my life to you. Until I can repay this debt, I will follow you around and be of service to you."
"The hells? I did not spare your life so you can become my servant!" Momo's grip on him tightened. She was upset and confused about this. Was it some kind of Yokai thing? "I just wanted to know what your deal was and now that I know that you are just a victim of a curse, I see no reason to kill you. You are your own man...Yokai. I don't accept this!"
Visibly perplexed at her outrage, he just blinked at her, before he let out an amused huff.
"You're really something else Ayase-san. Most humans would be delighted to have a Yokai servant."
"Well, I'm not like most humans," she countered, making him chuckle.
"So very true." He then gently freed his arm from her grip. "It still won't change a thing. I want to get the chance to repay your kindness, one way or the other."
They stared at each other for a solid minute, none of them backing down or even blinking. Momo chewed her bottom lip in frustration. She didn't like the idea of him feeling obligated to do whatever she would tell him. Not that she would ever ask anything he wouldn't want to. But he seemed so earnest with this stupid notion to repay her. And to be honest, she started to like his company from the conversation they had this morning. She didn't want him to be her servant. But maybe....
"I will accept this under one condition," she finally relented and raised her finger.
"Ohh?" He inclined his head in curiosity.
"You will not be my servant or anything like that. You can come with me...as my friend."
With those words she held her hand towards him. This was the most stunned she had seen him so far, his eyes wide and darting between her face and the offered hand.
"...as a friend?" he asked hesitantly, as if he would withdraw the offer if he was too assertive. It was cute and a little bit sad to see that this offer of friendship seemed to almost...scare him? So she gave him her brightest smile.
"Sure, you're alright. You take me seriously and it's fun talking to you."
She had to hold back a giggle when his eyes started to almost sparkle in wonder at her words.
"It's especially fun to tease you," she added with a cheeky grin.
All the wonder vanished from his eyes and he looked deadpanned at her.
"Awww, don't be like that. I promise I won't tease you...much," she giggled, causing him to sigh in defeat. But from the way he eagerly took her hand in his, she knew he didn't really mind it.
"If that's the only way you will let me follow you...Alright, we can be friends."

I'm totally gonna create art for this - already have - but in the meantime I should probably explain this concept lol.
So basically, in one way or another, the turtles each stumble upon the Hidden City at around age 8 to 10, and decide to keep it a secret from their bros >:3
Leo is the first one, technically, when he goes out to explore NYC when he's eight, and discovers Run of the Mill Pizza, because I'm obsessed with the Uncle Hueso idea, but he doesn't go to the actual city until much later, though he knows of it's existence.
I actually kinda started writing this starting bit? It's totally unedited and missing bits but whatever, I'll include it under the cut.
Leo peered up at the manhole cover from the bottom of the ladder, imagining what he would see if he climbed up and lifted it. The young turtle mutant didn't get long to think about it, hearing his brothers call for him.
"I'm coming!" The 8 year old ran to catch up with his family, sending one last considering look at the rungs of the ladder.
Later that night, after his brothers were asleep and his father was dozing in front of the TV, the red-eared slider crept out of bed, utilizing all the stealth skills he'd learned from the lessons Splinter thought he hadn't been paying attention to. Once safely out of the Lair, Leo practically sprinted down the route to the manhole cover he'd spotted earlier. There were entrances closer to the Lair, of course, but this way, if he got caught sneaking back in he could say he was just wandering around the sewers.
Reaching the top of the ladder, the slider paused for a moment, savoring the adrenaline of what he was about to do. Splinter never even let them explore the sewers without him, nevermind letting Leo venture out on his own. And now he was about to go Topside!
Shoving at the metal disc with all his strength, Leo cautiously poked his head out, eyes wide to take it all in. Of course, this wasn't his first time on the surface – Splinter had taken all the boys with him once or twice for scavenging trips, especially when they were younger. But now, Leo was here on his own! This was so exciting!!
The slider climbed out of the manhole, tugging the cover almost back into place, but leaving a small gap so he could get in later, as he wasn't sure how to lift it from the top side.
Bouncing in place, Leo looked around the alley he'd surfaced in with a wide grin, wondering what he might find.
Hmm. There wasn't much in this alleyway. In fact, it was pretty much empty. Nothing but a few scraps of cardboard and a colourful graffiti tag decorated the concrete.
Well, Leo didn't come here just to hang out in one measly alleyway! Full of confidence, the eight-year-old marched to the end of the alley, pulling up the hood of his sweater as he rounded the corner.
Even with the late hour, there were still people on the streets, eyes focused on getting to their destination. No one paid attention to the small figure in a battered green hoodie hurrying along, sticking close to the wall.
Leo ducked into the next alley, heart pounding. Okay, so that was a lot more nerve-wracking without Dad or Raph than he'd thought it would be.
Luckily, he realized as he took in his surroundings, this alleyway was much more interesting than the one he'd come out of. There was a huge dumpster on one side, and the walls were covered in graffiti. Even better, the far end of the alley was actually a corner, meaning there was more to explore!
Leo started poking around, kicking at the small piles of trash and inspecting the locked dumpster. Not finding anything cool, he moved on, admiring the graffiti.
He ended up turning two more corners while following the trail of graffiti, and found himself facing the street again. The constant something of spray paint broke off at the corner, meaning the skull painting in this alley stood out sharply.
Bla blah blah some yokai open the door to run of the Mill while Leo watches from behind a dumpster or smth
Leo's eyes sparkled. Was that actual magic?! Donnie said magic was impossible, but Donnie also said it was impossible for the two of them to be twins, and Leo knew that wasn't true. The turtle bounced forward with glee, eager to see where those people had gone, only to stop short when the portal closed in his face.
Leo frowned. Clearly, he just hadn't been fast enough. Wait, what was that gesture they used to open it? Leo lifted his hand, trying to mimic the pose he'd seen, and wiggled it with great concentration.
Nothing happened.
Huffing, the boy tried again. And again. And was glaring at the wall, ready to shout at it to let him in, when he heard someone approaching the alleyway. Eyes lighting up with an idea, Leo darted behind the nearest dumpster and peeked out, watching carefully.
Sure enough, another mutant-like person entered the alley, heading for the graffiti tag. Leo stared hard at the gesture they made, but instead of waiting and trying to copy it, he darted in behind them as soon as the portal opened.
As soon as he was inside, Leo stopped. And stared.
There were so many people! And none of them were human.
"This is the coolest place I've ever seen," Leo whispered to himself in awe. He slowly started walking further in, craning his neck to stare at every little detail.
So entranced was he, that he didn't see the bony figure approaching until he nearly face-planted into their suit.
"Where are your parents, little pepino?"
Leo froze and looked up at the sound of the voice. Towering over him, arms crossed, was a frowning... skeleton?!
Instantly forgetting to feel guilty at being caught, Leo blurted out, "are you dead?!" His eyes were wider than they'd been all evening, he was sure. Because, come on, that was a walking, talking, skeleton man!!!
The aforementioned skeleton man, somehow, raised an eyebrow. "No, I am not dead. Have you never seen a skeleton yokai before?"
"No," Leo responded, eyes still wide. "What's a yokai?"
"Que pasa con este niño," the yokai muttered under his breath, then continued in a normal tone, "Yokai is what we are. You, me, and everyone in this restaurant is a yokai."
"Oh. Hey, what was that language you were talking in?"
The yokai looked at him weirdly, but Leo really did want to know! He'd only said one sentence but it sounded so cool! Leo already knew he wanted to learn it.
"Spanish. Why are you here, niño?"
"Uhhhhhh... Dad... sent me?" Leo cringed a little at the blatant lie, and decided to distract him with another question. "Can you say something in Spanish?!"
The yokai sighed. "Tell me your name and I'll consider it."
He beamed. "I'm Leo! What's your name?"
"You can call me Señor Hueso."
"Whoa, is your name in Spanish?! Wait wait wait you gotta say something in Spanish now! I told you my name!"
"Deberías estar en le cama, tortuguita."
"Coooool! What does that mean?"
"It means 'you should be in bed, little turtle'. Let's go, out, time for you to go home." Hueso began pushing at Leo's shoulders, nudging him towards the door.
"Whaaaat? Come on, you can't kick me out! I just got here!" Leo dug his heels in, refusing to be pushed.
"This is a restaurant, not a daycare. I do not have time to be babysitting lost children. Out!" With one final shove, Señor Hueso let go of Leo and prepared to shut the portal.
The turtle mutant stumbled and whirled around as soon he was free. "Wait! You're just gonna let a child wander around New York alone? At night? Isn't that illegal?"
"Well, since you won't tell me where your parents are..." Hueso trailed off with a raise of his eyebrow, waiting to see if Leo would offer any more information.
Leo huffed in defeat. He didn't want to admit it, but he was getting tired, as it was already far past his usual bedtime. "Fine, fine, I'm going! But I'll be back tomorrow!"
----------------
Leo did in fact come back the next day. Hueso wasn't there when Leo scampered in behind a weird frog yokai, so the slider was quick to scurry off into the restaurant, hoping he could hang out for a little while before Hueso found him and kicked him out again.
To be continued...?

Mass collection of me and my Pokémon that I've previously used, shiny hunted, or just got attached to. There's still a lot more that I want to add, but I got sidetracked and missed a year.
I love making crowded drawings with multiple characters with various personalities! I want to make similar drawings with my favorite yokai from Yokai Watch maybe, or just drawing every character from *insert game/show/whatever* Each one will take a millennia to complete, but I'll work little by little.

Hi, Sorry to bother you again but You seem to be like...a lorekeeper of TMNT 2012 Knowledge.
How the hell does Magic work in that show? I'm aware RatDad Kinda has it with the healing hands, and I also saw Shinigami has it? I don't know. I'm confused. I kinda fell off in the middle of S3 and only know stuff based off the Wiki.
First off, don't always trust the wiki. Lots of fans edit it and add false info just to push their own narrative or make ridiculous claims with no source to back it up. I also recommend checking out the rest of season 3 and onward! It does get kinda sloppy by season 4 but it's still a fun watch! Reading a wiki ain't gonna do the series justice lol
Now, to your question, imma be honest with you, regarding the magic in TMNT 2012, I really don’t know how it works XD
TMNT 2012 barely acknowledges the magic concept, granted it was a very out of no where thing like "hey magic also exist in our universe btw!" and when it does show up it’s gone before you can even process it was there so it gets forgotten quickly (at least to me when I rewatch the show).
The magic in TMNT 2012 I don’t think shows up until season 3 (someone correct me if I'm wrong) when Leo is confronted by the deer spirit in the episode Vision Quest (who btw never shows up again, put them on the list of one and done 2012 characters). After that, every other magic related thing is very subtle cause the series focuses way more on the sci-fi angle, which was the theme that was established in the first episode and was continued to be explore throughout the series. I just crack it down to it being a spiritual ninjutsu thing, but I've rarely put much thought into it.
For those who are curious, the magic and even paranormal things we see in TMNT 2012 are few but what we got are...
The Deer Spirit
The Healing Hands Technique
(which btw I wish they used this technique more cause it would've been VERY helpful in other situations later down the line...)
Sir Malachi
Was it magic or did he just drug the Turtles to play discount DND with him??
Alopex's cursed Blades of Vengeance
Ghosts and possession
Cults and Demons
Magic users such as Jei and Kintaro
Yokais such as Bake-danuki and Jorōgumo
(granted these mostly existed in Usagi's universe so they probably don't fully count in the Turtles world but who knows)
And the very existence of Shinigami
Though Shini and her whole magic thing is barely explored or explained. They say she's a witch but we barely see her do witchy things. Most of her tricks and techniques seem more like blink and you'll miss it magician stuff than an actual literal witch. We know she can hypnotize people and make them see scary hallucinations, and it's also suggested that she can shapeshift into a cat but she only ever does it once and it's very subtly to the point that some fans probably didn't even know that the black cat in her intro scene in her first episode was her.
Btw, according to Shinigami's concept art, her hypno stone weapon (as seen in gif) is said to be a family heirloom, meaning she comes from a supposed long line of witches and magic users. Sure wish THAT was explored more for her character instead of her just being there as Karai's hype woman and another chick for Mikey to drool over...

TRICK OR TREAT >:]
Aaaaaaaaaa hello hello, welcome, yet another treat for the bag <3
What’s it this time? Well a little bit of behind the scenes worldbuilding from my early days of Paranormality!
Did you know: The original draft (of which several pages are written) centered around first years Daichi, Suga and Asahi being recruited by a literally haunted Kurokawa to investigate the paranormal and potentially find a way to relieve him of the figure that was always following him - it maintained a consistent distance, always just standing, watching, never doing anything more. Although he believes himself maybe just crazy, Kurokawa is genuinely suffering from these hallucinations and needs an answer. Unfortunately, when Daichi reports seeing this thing (before he knew of Kurokawa’s hallucinations) things get a little bit more complicated. The story would have spanned all three years, including eventually a match-up with the Alien-hunting pair of Oikawa and Iwaizumi, who strike up a friendship with our Karasuno crew though they only team up when their areas of interest overlap. There were also potential plans for a Yokai-hunting team over at STZ, in the way that some people try and “hunt” bigfoot. Of course, Kurokawa’s condition gets worse and worse, he gets more erratic, until eventually, at the end of their second year, as he’s set to graduate, he is suddenly hospitalized. (having been driven to hurt himself due to the hallucinations). He is, at this point, diagnosed with schizophrenia. (not in a demonizing mental illness way trust me on this let me cook a fucking second). Of course, with the proper treatment, medications, and being able to understand himself, his circumstances… improve. And the ghost hunting trio is left… a little adrift. Were they really just… chasing nothing? Well…
Except… hadn’t Daichi had seen Kurokawa’s figure before.
And even as Kurokawa’s symptoms improve and he regains functionality… that one, watchful vision is far too solid to be a schizophrenic hallucination, and seems to refuse to waver despite his increasing control over himself.
ANYWAY for various reasons not entirely unrelated to the fact that I was too afraid to write this version for various reasons, I ended up eventually reworking it into the concept that became Paranormality. HOWEVER as maybe a sneak peek, I can confirm that Kurokawa and Kurokawa’s ghost may just in fact make an appearance in the upcoming installments of the Paranormality series. A few other tidbits about this fact:
1. My roommate directly inspired this, because her first reaction upon laying eyes on Kurokawa was a genuine gasp and then “oh that man is HAUNTED.” And then, way later, there is a scene where Kurokawa and Tashiro go to talk with the third years after the stx match and I pointed out a figure in the background that looks like he has no head (go find it if you want) and my roommate, without missing a beat my roommate said: “THAT is what’s haunting him.” so.
2. The story was going to be tonally WAY darker and more intense, whereas I ended up/wanted to give Paranormality a sort of… Doctor-Who/Mary Poppins vibe of just whimsy and horror more in sync, instead of straight ghost stories.
3. The Schizophrenic Kurokawa headcanon is… canon to me. I… wish this character was more popular, but I LOVE him, and he’s entirely a headcanon in my brain. A lot of his behaviours were going to be inspired by a friend of mine who has schizophrenia and became the funniest person in the world because her auditory hallucinations started using MY voice and she kept bringing me things she thought I asked for and I was gonna give that dynamic to Kurokawa and Daichi. But anyway. The point is. Despite it being almost entirely fanon I love Kurokawa and he WILL show up somewhere eventually I PROMISE. And he will probably have schizophrenia

What the dog doin?
Idk if anyone remembers from my last blog or over on twitter but I absolutely ADORE Jinmenken ( aka Manjimutt) with all my heart and HATE how the anime treated this pupper. He is my top favorite Yokai and biggest comfort character too, he literally means so much to me 🥺
It’s been a real long time since I last drew him so I decided to draw him a bit to get back used to drawing him again. I then decided to him with Fumika’s ( Katie’s ) dad since I actually have this huge AU where Fumi actually got the watch instead of Keita ( Nate ) and in the part of the story where she incounters Jinmenken, I see befriending him and after some more stuff happening he ends up at her house and her folks end up seeing him, but as a kinda “ugly” dog instead of a human thanks to a special collar for dog Yokai. It’s a lot to explain so I’ll ofc go into more detail later, but for now I can say that after Fumi explains that she “found” Jinmenken needing help, she decided to help the pup until her and her parents found his actual owner. The mom is fine with this but the dad just bonds with Jinmenken fast and the two become inseparable ^^;; Again there are details missing but I will explain better later <:3
But yeah! Just some really cute doodles of this adorable puppy 🥹

story telling
It all started with a humiliatiing question from @little-yokai-kiss about how a dominant woman could humiliate me. And I answered honestly and was brave enough to ask her which of the given options she might like. She said : these are only pathetic losers fantasies and she doesnt like any of those, but IF she had to chose, she would chose to piss on me and making me clean everything up afterwards.... I immediately fell into a subby mindset and said that I would feel honored if she would do that.
And the humiliation didn't stop then. She said my submissivness gives her an ick…. And that I am lucky that eventually there are women out there that might enjoy losers like me…. But she doubts that there will be any that is sexually faithful to me :/ And she is probably right…
I answered that everything I wanna do is entertain women when they use me for their joy and pleasure.
She sent me another ask…. Asking me what are the 3 words I would describe myself with, after she described me with "loser, worthless and ick. I added ' pathetic, useless, and FreeUseToy" ….
I thanked her for that interaction, that again made me horny …. I wanted to make your laugh, which I also failed with … In return, I got a first "task"… Describing her how I would humiliate and degradem myself to make up to the missed laughing. She asked me to do a naked pick, kneeling, with "dumb cunt" written on my chest. I had the hope that she was claiming me as her sub, which she found "gross" and told me that she'd never claim such a loser like me and that I should be happy for any attention she is giving to me. And obviously she was right….
So after I found a hiding spot, since I was at work, I did as I was told. Kneeled down and wrote "dumb cunt" on my chest, and sent it to her…. Turns out that she was totally right about me being dumb… Because instead of "dumb" I wrote "dump" ….. My bad and I excused for it :/
She noticed that my balls were very huge and she said that this is the only thing that she lieks on the photo because …. I am not very well trained yet, even tho im working out regularly. The question about how tiny my dick is followed by that, so I tried to make it hard and sent the pic to her.
She complimented my big balls. That was the first compliment I got from her, so I thanked her very much for that kind words ! She literally said "good boy" <3
But then she harrassed me about my tiny beta dick size … But even that got me excited for more. I was just hooked for the humiliation and denial towards me :/
She asked for more pics of me. In my working clothes and from my balls…. I explained to her why they are big and welll…. Turns out that she had something in mind for my overproducing balls.
We had some talking about premature ejaculations and porns I do like, what the most humiliating experience I had with women irl and such things …. I told her everything without holding anything back. She humiliated me again with more rejection, like she wouldn't even wanna watch me getting off or watch me getting pegged or self riding a dildo or sth similar. Thats gross she said. Its disgusting towards her I thought ….
She said that I am so pathetic, that she gonna destroy my balls until all they are good for is being castrated :'(
She asked me about me swallowing my own cum if I cum and if I like it. And I said that it is disgusting to me :/ But she like it, only from real men ofc not from a loser like me. She sent me a cuckold porn and told me to edge with it and lick all my precum, because i should learn to like it !
And I did as im told :/ Turns out, precum isnt that bad tho….
Even tho we talked a lot, she reminded me that she isnt liking me at all and that i should never forget that :'( I am very lucky that she even considers talking to me !
She then give me 3 tasks again, this time with a chance for an reward !!! <3
I had to do a photo where I cum on the toilet seat. followed by a pick me cleaining it up with my tongue. And then begging her for a pic of her with a detailled description of what I wanna see. And obviously …. Since I am such a beta loser, I asked for a feet pic <3 ( which i luckily got <3<3 and made me super happy )
While I was trying to cum, she kept insulting me…. Told me that she was on the edge and wanna cum to me humiliating myself. But it took me quiet a while, even tho her harrassment turned me on very much !
When I finally did it and sent the pic to her , she felt disgusted again, and it was a huge turn off for her, so she didnt had an orgasm from all I did to myself :( BUT Because I did everything, she again called me "good boy" Which felt like heaven !
In order to have the chance that she gonna speak to me again, I had to write all of this down, so everyone can read it …
I really hope that @little-yokai-kiss is happy and satisfied enough from that writing and eventually give a loser like me some more attention :(

Courtship
Read more here.
.
Ever since their little late night dinner date, there’s been a slight shift in how Okarun treats Miss Ayase. It was nothing too drastic a change, if anything, it was just a minor shift in their normal dynamic stemming entirely from him. An extra habit he’s now developing.
He’s been offering her food.
Very often.
Typically, he shares his own meal with her. Even when she has her own, he makes the offer. She initially always refuses and it saddens him until she relents and has at least a bite of his food.
It does make him happy, but he finds he always wants to give more. Give her all of it.
When he has the money to spare, he’ll buy her favorite candies and food.
When they have a big meal at the Ayase residence, he’ll grab some extra of what’s her favorite to share with her.
He really would give her all of it if he could, but she’s adamant in making sure he eats too.
And the sweet insistence just adds fuel to this fire.
And Okarun just doesn’t entirely get it.
But he also does on some instinctive level?
He really doesn’t know how to even explain it.
At least, until Turbo Granny grumbled at him in annoyance. “Can you save your fumbling courtship when you’re by yourselves?”
Okarun nearly dropped his plate. “C-courtship?!” Okarun stiffly turned to her, gawking. “I, I'm not courtin— well, we, we are dating so—”
“Don't lump our superior culture with your mundane rubble!” Turbo Granny snapped. “You're pursuing her as a yokai and it's embarrassing watching your blunders!”
Okarun blushed. “I, I didn't even realize…”
“Of course you didn't,” Turbo Granny sneered. “But now you know.”
“...Could you tell me about yokai courtship?” Okarun requested.
Turbo Granny gave him a big side eye. “Why should I?”
“Because I'm fumbling around,” Okarun answered, a little more confident now, though his cheeks were still rather pink. “And how am I to know if I'm courting in front of you? This is all new to me.”
Humming aloud, Turbo Granny agreed, “Listen well then, Four Eyes. Yokai courtship is perilous. It comes about only to those who are ready to give it their all, or to perish in their failure. And I do mean perished in the murdered sense.”
“I'm going to die if I fail?!” Okarun proclaimed.
Well, he could believe it. If Miss Ayase said she never wanted anything to do with him, he would be devastated. The mere thought alone almost had him transform.
Turbo Granny rolled her eyes. “Yes, a few weaklings will die of heartbreak, but most are murdered for wasting time!”
“Oh,” he uttered. Well, he doesn't have to worry about that at least.
“Yokai courtship is also incredibly trying, a true test of resilience, want, and one's ego.”
“Really?” Gosh, that sounds intimidating. What was Okarun in for?
“Yes, for courtship is the hardest thing for yokai to do.”
Okarun gulped as Turbo Granny paused for dramatic effect.
“Yokai courtship comes down to devotion.”
Okarun stared. Then blinked as Turbo Granny's words clicked in his mind.
“Eh?” he uttered, “That's it?”
Turbo Granny smacked his thigh, snapping, “Don't say ‘that's it’ like it's nothing! Where's your pride as a yokai?!”
“Sorry! Sorry!” he soothed.
“The vessel of my power,” Turbo Granny grumbled.
“What do you mean devotion?” Okarun asked. He blushed red. “D-do you mean, like, kis-kissing—”
“It's a broad definition,” Turbo Granny said. “At the core, it comes down to you being devoted to another. Sometimes it comes down to physical and sexual pleasure.”
Okarun's blush went redder.
“Sometimes it comes down to service, provision, protection; it's putting another over yourself. Giving away something that should be yours, be it food, energy, time; anything.”
“Oh.”
Turbo Granny gave him a side eye. “We yokai are proud entities. It takes a lot for us to swallow our pride and lower ourselves to another.”
“So, when I’m giving Miss Ayase food…”
“It's one of your courting methods, yes. You’re also quick to protect and obey her orders. Carrying her around like some horse. You act like she's your entire world.” Turbo Granny rolled her eyes and scoffed.
Well, he supposed she wasn't wrong. Miss Ayase was his world, she was very precious to him, and much of what she wanted he would give and more. The thought had him smile, it just felt right.
And, he knew he was important to her too. That he was treasured and valued. Such attention and affection was so rare in his life, he couldn't help but cling to her, have all she wanted to give, and return it a hundred fold.
“You should take a page from me,” Turbo Granny voiced, “be courted instead. She likes you enough that she'd do it, I bet.”
Okarun had a start. He exclaimed in surprise, “ You're being courted?!”
Turbo Granny gave his leg a smack for his insolence. “Of course I am! Do you realize how much of a catch I am?!”
“Yes, you are,” Okarun appeased, “um, who's courting you then?”
Was some strange yokai visiting the Ayase residence? He didn't like that thought…
“Who do you think?” Turbo Granny scoffed, then pointed at Ayase-san.
“Ayase-san?!” he gasped in surprise. “She's courting you?!”
“She cooks and feeds me,” Turbo Granny revealed. “Pretty unprompted, but sometimes I bring her food.”
“...But, Turbo Granny, I think she's just feeding you.”
“Hah! One does not simply feed a yokai! It's her means of worshipping me. That she desires me! And as a show of pleasing me, I join her on her outings. And sometimes I'll supervise you brats because she likes you.”
“That's nice of you,” he offered. “Um, what about when you get your power back?”
“Clearly, this will be my new territory. Usually the one who does the devotion lives in that yokai's territory, if their devotion is accepted, but I'll make an exception for Seiko given her power and situation.” Turbo Granny gave Okarun a sneer. “You better offer me a lot of respect boy, for what will be hers will be mine, and this territory belongs to Seiko instead of Momo. Even if you move in, this won't be your turf.”
That sparked off something competitive in Okarun, something heated. This was where Momo lived. And instinctively, he felt a sense of protectiveness, a sense to claim this place as his, just as much as it was hers. And as these feelings ran so strongly, Okarun couldn't stop the words that were uttered aloud.
“But Miss Ayase has already accepted my affections, so I have more claim to this territory now. You aren't official with Ayase-san yet.”
Turbo Granny's eyes went huge. “Hah?!” she spat, hissing a little.
Okarun turned to her, eyes gleaming red. “This is my territory, not yours.”
Turbo Granny was on her feet, her own teeth bared. “You wanna go at it, Four Eyes? I'll murder you—”
Turbo Granny toppled over a speeding mochi that was thrown her way.
And a second smacked the shifting Okarun, knocking him over as well.
The two speed yokai laid on the ground, stunned in surprise. They heard Ayase-san call out sternly, “I'll have no territorial disputes over dinner!”
“Yes, ma'am,” they both uttered.
They sat up, eating the mochi and settling to glaring at each other quietly. This was not over.
