It's been 3 years since you had sex with your mistress alcina and became her heir. Mother miranda and alcina's fore- sisters and brothers were not pleased that she was marrying a human, But they couldn't tell her what to do. Or they will face her wrath.
Everyone respected you and treated and talked to you just like they would with alcina.
Alcina made you her head maid. Meaning you were in charge of all the maids that worked for her. Yes ,you would still clean from time to time but most of the time you were sitting around doing little to nothing or nothing at all.
you were sitting in the kitchen around the dinning room table peaceful drinking your coffee when you heard loud gigles. You sighed heavily as you tried to ignore them, but they seem to get louder and more annoying. Like the person is willing to make you suffer.
You slam your cup down on the table making the liquid jump up and spill all over your white t- shirt. Fuck you mumbled as you got up and tried to wip it off but it only made it worse.
You saw a girl all dressed in black pop around the corner of the kitchen door frame. You raised your eyes to meet her death threatening gaze. It was Daniela. You shot daggers at her.
" mommy's back from her trip and would like to see you" she snarled as she giggled again. Something in you snapped. You could feel the anger radiating off yourself.
" fuck off bitch and tell your mom I said go fuck herself" you spat as you sped walked pass her into the living room. She held your waist firmly, signaling you to look up. Your eyes met alcinas gaze as she stood tall above the balcony in the living room.
She had a facial expression you couldn't quite read. It was like she was angry, disappointed but at the same time.....
She liked it......
You rolled your eyes at her and slapped Danielas hand off your stomach as you moved to sit in one of the chairs.
Her living room was huge. Tall Bookselfs everywhere. A big window in the ceiling where natural light came in, but it was still kinda dark. The scent of candles burning, her perfume strong as ever. You picked up a book and pretend to read it.
You side eyed her continuing and saw that she was talking to Jeanine. The new maid in charge of the Landry.
That's when you realized you still had a stain on your shirt that looked disgusting. You pulled off your shirt and left yourself in a balck lace bra, and your every short jeans.
" hey Jean can you throw this in the wash for me, a clown made me spill coffee on it" you said running up the stairs to give it to her.
As soon as you reached the top your eyes locked with alcina's. They were filled with anger and fire. Something you never got to see close up. You ignored her facial expression and offered Jeanine the shirt. Alcinas big hand came down and knocked the shirt out of your hands.
" can't you see I'm talking to her, pet" she said firmly her voice laced with fury. You cocked your eyebrows at her and tilted your head to the side.
" and does it look like I give 2 fucks no, I dont" you spat with an disgusting attitude. You didn't realize your tone of voice until you saw her eyes shine a more bright yellow color, something that only happens when she's completely boiling with anger.
At this point you didn't care. Just because she was your master doesn't mean she gets to treat you like shit. Everytime her daughters who needed psychological help got on your nerves she, would always take their side.
Saying things like "your too childish" or "their just pulling your legs". You were completely fed up, and even sometimes she got fed up of them too .
" Jeanine take the shirt to wash then accompany Daniela with her everyday walk in the rose garden will you?" She asked turning her gaze to Jeanine.
"Yes mistress" she said before gulping quickly and walking away. Daniela giggled as she ran up the other other stairs and followed Jeanine.
You were in deep shit.
Alcina grabbed you by your throat and slamed you into a nearby wall hard. You whimpered at the sudden attack.
She was Hella angry, you could practically see hell open up in her eyes. Her grip on your neck was powerful and tight, you couldn't escape even if you tried. And the more you looked at her the tighter it got.
" p- please mommy, your hurting me" you muttered, barely getting it out, both your hands were on hers trying to get release the grip a little. She was scaring you. You've seen her kill people like this. But she wouldn't do that to you right?
" the only time you roll your eyes at me is when I'm fucking you hard" she said firmly, her tone was demanding and very serious. You were starting to regret your actions. What possessed you to act like that. Such a brat, and alcina hates brats.
"Please I'm sorry mommy" you begged tears forming in your eyes as you digged your nails into her wrist. She squeezed tighter and you swore you felt your soul almost leave your body.
But even though she was hurting you, something about the way she was looking at you made your core heat up.
You were starting to get dizzy, no air passing through you. She let go of your neck and kissed you passionately. Breathing air back into you. It was an amazing feeling to be honest. It might be a new kink for you except it was quite dangerous to do.
You tasted the wine, the blood, the cigarettes and the vanilla biscuit on her tongue as she kissed you. You couldn't help but moan into her mouth as she swallowed it, going rougher.
But soon she was the one taking your breath away. You pulled away panting like you just ran a 1k miles. You placed both your hands on her chest looking at the floor. She grabbed your jaw and forced you to look up at her. " the next time you disrespect me you will regret it" she whispered in your ear.
Her teeth dragged softly across your neck, making you shiver. " fuck you babe" you whispered back, it was mostly for yourself to hear but nothing goes unheard by alcina. She bit down on your neck harshly making you scream.
You scream was surly heard all around the castle. Your scream made her shiver. It was blood curdling, but she tried her best to not let it show. She didn't go deep, there was no blood. But her vampire teeth boring through your skin was definitely painful.
She loved hearing you whimper. She kissed the spot before coming up to kiss you softly on your lips. " I'm sorry drega mea" she said smiling. Something about her suddenly soft act made your blood run cold.
All of a sudden she was soft with you. But you just let it be.
" Your just really stressed out aren't you little one?" She asked in a baby tone of voice, it made you melt. You nodded biting your bottom lip so hard, it could rip off.
She hummed in response and picked you up and carried you to her bedroom.
You knew that there was something far more revengeful behind alcinas sudden kindness but you didn't care. You needed her. Real bad.
She gently ploped you down on the bed and unbuttoned your shorts. She pulled them down with you lifting your waist to help her. Her eyes caught the matching black lace underwear you were wearing. It made her insides scream. She just wanted to ruin you. But she had a plan she had to stick to.
She wasted no time. She pulled you thong to the side and entered 2 fingers in you pumping the hard n' fast. You arch your back as your mouth fell open in a o shape releasing all your moans. " such a good girl for mommy" she cooed going faster.
Sex with alcina was always fantastic. She would bring you to this place that felt so good. She would send you into oblivion. She made you feel so good. Always.
You griped onto the silk bedsheets as you felt your orgasm nearing. It was such a good feeling. A feeling of pure ecstacy.
" fuck, fuck ,fuck oh shit mommy I'm gonna cum" you moaned, your eyes rolling back. She was right. The only time you should be Rolling your eyes in when she's fucking you.
She held your legs up to your chest, the new position making her fuck into you deeper. She curled her fingers in you, her fingertips grazing your walls slightly as she hit your sweet spot.
You kept moaning fucks and shits as you feel yourself going more and more over the edge. Alcina smirked as she felt your walls tighten around her digits.
As soon as you were going to cum she pulled out her fingers. You whined at the sudden lost. You really wanted to cum, you were so close to Cumming. You needed it. But at the same time you didn't deserve it.
You heard her chuckle as she crawled up towards you. " I told you you'd regret it my love" she whispered, her voice was divine, she looked so eternal when she was teasing you.
" no mommy please, make me cum please I'm sorry momm-" she cut you off pushing her fingers with your juices in your mouth. You moan as you tasted yourself on her fingers.
"Save some for me baby" she said pulling her fingers away from your mouth with a pop. She quickly placed them in hers sucking and licking the remaining juices.
You ploped yourself up on your elbows pouting at her. " when you learn to keep that mouth of yours clean and that temper of yours under control, mommy will make you feel real good" she whispered barley kissing your lips. Ghosting you.
You whined like a pathetic whore, bucking your hips towards nothing, clenching around nothing. You needed your sweet release.
She got up and walked over to the door. Just as she was about the leave you decided to make her really angry. As if that would make her fuck you.
" I said it once and I'll have to say it again, fuck you" you regretted your choice of words. In that very moment, alcina turned on her heels and stormed towards you.
" you deserve a spanking mìca mèa curvà" she flipped you over on your stomach walked over to her drawer. You heard her pull something out and when you looked over your shoulder it was a leather starp belt. You gasp. You never tried anything like this when it came to sex with alcina.
And you didnt want to experience it in a punishment form. Your skin became heated and so did your core. " you will count and you will thank you, do you understand?"
"Yes mistress" you say and she smirks. She messaged your ass before pulling your body into a " ass up face down" position.
Smack.
You yelped as the whip makes you flinch, jolting up the bed.
You gripped onto the bedsheets for dear life.
Smack.
The whip hits your ass again. Leaving bright red marks on your pale ass cheek. You moan this time as mixture of pain and pleasure runs through you.
And soon you remember what you were supposed to be doing.
" one thank you mommy" you whispered. She yanked your hair hard. Your neck flew up as she pulled hard. Her mouth came up to your ear. Her hot breath against your hot skin.
" your response must be as loud as your disrespect bitch" she whispered.
It continued this way for a very long time. The spanking. When ever you didn't respond she would give you another one until you would. When you responded too soft and yanked your hair roughly.
In total she gaved you 26 slaps to your ass.
After she messaged the redden area and kissed it. Her soft lips against the swollen and hurting area making you winch.
She allowed you to get dress and reinforce yourself.
You ass hurt like hell.
You cupped your cheek and rubbed it softly.
" I'll take to the girls about annoying you darling" she spoke softly.
You hummed in response as you melted into her touch.
" it's ok, the girls know I love them. I'm just really stressed with being head maid. Tell Daniela I didn't mean to lash out on her" you said almost sadistic.
She smiled softly at you.
" how about you tell her yourself" she said pulling you into a kiss. It was sweet and slow. Loving really.
As you walked into the rose garden you heard Daniela's adorable giggles as you spotted her running behind a black butterfly. You saw on a Grey old bench and picked some roses. You made sure to be careful not to get spiked.
As soon as she spotted you she ran over to you and sat next to you. " I made a friend" she said smiling like a little girl. She made you heart melt. How much you be so mean to her earlier. You huffed as you smiled at her.
" turn around" you told her and she complied. You took strands of hair from both sides of her head and braided them, after the took a piece of flower stem and tied them together.
After you tore the rose petals off and placed them into her hair. Giving her the alternate princess look.
She turned back around and hugged you tight.
" I'm sorry for the way I shouted at you Dani, I love you" you whispered into her neck. " it's ok, and I know I love you too because your the first person to ever love my mom so much. She's happy when she's with you. " she whispered.
You smiled as you hugged her tighter.
You pulled away and pulled her up.
" come on let's go make dinner yeah?" She nodded in response and you both raced back to the castle.

i mean, it's definitely fun to get to just rattle around inside a character's head :') still weird tho! i never write in 1st person in english and now i'm doing it again.
have a snippet under the cut👇
"I should return to Erudite", Eric says. He sounds as though he's made his decision, but he doesn't move.
I close my eyes and lean the back of my head against the wall. "I could stop you", I suggest.
"Would you?" he asks sharply.
"No. Maybe. If you need me to." I open my eyes and turn to face him. He's pale, and dust sticks to his clammy skin.
He tugs at his lower lip thoughtfully, a habit retained from when he'd kept rings or studs on it. They'd started hurting his tooth enamel, so he'd taken them out. Now the holes are mostly closed—not gone, but too small to admit a piercing.
He's always been difficult for me to read. If I want to understand him, I have to consider the actions he takes, not what he shows on his face. When he's easy to read, he's usually projecting on purpose.
I don't know what to think of his actions, though. He left the car behind, somehow moved to consider the option of turning away from Erudite. But he's not decided, yet.
Whatever else may be true, he feels beholden to the Erudite. Perhaps Jeanine herself. He transferred from Erudite, that I do remember from his initiation.
"Did you work for Jeanine from the start?" I ask.
"Essentially."
It makes sense. Dauntless can make leaders young, but getting into the leader track straight from Initiation Day, especially as a transfer, is just weird. Even Amar didn't get the chance, and he was Dauntless-born. He was so amazing that when he said he wanted to be an initiation instructor, my ranking against his was worth nothing. The only reason I got to keep running the training on the shooting range was that I was the better shot. And more diciplined, but let's not speak ill of the dead, even the Divergent ones.
But it wasn't just Eric who had the opportunity. Four, as well. I have to wonder if the leaders didn't specifically want a transfer: someone unfamiliar with Dauntless as it had been. A clean slate on whom to paint this image of Dauntless made anew.
"Did you ever want to be Dauntless?—I mean... Without all this other stuff. Just Dauntless."
He gives a dry chuckle, interrupted by a pained wince. He shakes his head. "Not often."

All It Took Was One Look - Chapter 30
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Aiden
Life couldn't get any better than this.
Even if our relationships a secret, it's still perfect in my book.
It's been a week since the movies and the full moon was on Saturday... three days away.
We didn't have school for a full three weeks after this one so Liam said he was going to visit his sister in NYC.
A precaution so he wouldn't accidently force me or something... which I am grateful for.
I don't want to lose my virginity like that.
Currently, I was in my family room, watching a marathon of one of my favorite supernatural T.V. shows on my couch.
It also had a werewolf to.
Liam was behind me wrapping me in his arms.
My parents have been super cool with him being over lately but they have had their embarrassing moments of course.
Like mom awing every damn time she sees us.
And dad giving Liam a 'stern talking to'.
If you didn't know, I just rolled my eyes.
My father was saying things like, what are your intentions with my son Liam?
If you break his heart I'm going to be representing my own case in court.
All this happened while I was holding my head in my hands shaking it with the mortification of how crazy weird my parents can be.
Being the good sport he always is Liam was laughing saying he loved them.
"I love this show," I said as Liam softly hummed in the side of my neck.
"Are you my werewolf, Liam?" I asked him playfully.
"I'll be whatever you want me to be," he replied lazily.
"Good."
I could hear him take a deep breath.
"I really hate to leave you," he whimpered, his hot breath causing shivers to wrack my body.
"I know but I don't what you in my pants just yet," I joked and I heard him growl.
"Well you have no idea how much I want to be in those pants of your right now," he said, his hand traveling to the hem of my shirt raising it a little till I slapped it away.
"No," I warned him like I was reprehending a small child.
I turned my head to see him pouting.
"No Liam, you know how this will end, just like the locker room, the movies and don't forget that time in my bedroom," I scolded.
From the mention of the bedroom I was flat on my back on the couch and Liam straddling me.
"Oh, I like that day. We should re-enact it, here, now," he purred as his eyes changed from those beautiful brownish green orbs to the intense mysterious yellow.
I almost got lost in them but when I realized getting lost in them gets me in naughty situations.
And with the full moon a matter of days away, it's way more dangerous with a horny werewolf ready to rip my butthole open any second now.
"Down boy," I scold, pushing him over to the side of the couch and I hopped to my feet.
"I'm going to grab a coke from the kitchen, you want anything?" I asked walking away.
"There is something I want but I'm not allowed to have it," he called.
I rolled my eyes while I opened the fridge grabbing a can off the top shelf.
Popping it open I took a swig, leaning back on the counter.
This full moon stuff was really crazy... I mean Liam would have to leave me every month because his horny wolf was ready to jump my bones.
But I can't complain much since the last week has been awesome.
Liam and I have been sneaking kisses every chance we got, going it in corners of the school during passing periods.
Once I was walking down the hall when I was suddenly dragged into the janitor's closet.
But that was last week, now Liam has been more 'handsie' his eyes changed more frequently he was constantly wearing his glasses now.
I have to say I love it when his wolf takes over like that, it's super-hot.
Liam told me Dom had to stay home this week under his dad's super visions, afraid of marking Jeanine because he hadn't told her the 'big' secret yet.
I understand but if it was anything like how me and Liam are and the feelings running through us when were around each other I doubt that she would freak that much... I didn't but what if she did?
"What are you thinking about?" Liam's voice brought out of my thoughts.
He leaned in front of me with his hands on either side of me resting on the counter. I blushed as he got closer to my face.
Yes I was still nervous around him.
"Nothing," I lied.
"Uh huh."
He tilted his head giving me a 'bullshit' expression.
"What will happen if Jay doesn't accept what Dom is?" I asked him with a frown and his face twisted into a sad grimace.
"Nothing good," he muttered.
"Like?" I pressed and sighing, he stepped back from me leaning against the fridge.
"You already know every wolf has a mate out there for them. Our mate is the reason we live. You can be fine all your life but you know that you're missing a huge part of yourself till you find her or in my case him."
My gaze dropped to the floor as my cheeks flooded.
He lifts my chin up to gaze back in my eyes.
"Don't, don't cast your eyes down with me or anybody for that matter. Hold you your head high Aiden," he told me his face set seriously and I nod, not truly understanding why.
"Having a mate means nothing else matters anymore, all those problems you thought were major turn petty and unimportant. Your mate is the only important one in your life. You live for them, you breathe for them. But to lose them would be the end of you and I'm not even exaggerating. I don't know the feeling personally but since I found you I know now that if I lost you nothing in this world would have the same meaning anymore. If I lost you, I would be lost forever."
He stepped closer to me cupping my cheek.
"I've heard of wolves who have been rejected, they turn crazed and become rogues. Some even die just from the heart ache."
My eyes were wide with awe and terror.
"Having a mate is that serious to you guys?" I asked and he laughed humorlessly.
"You have no idea."
His hand slipped from my face and down to my waist.
"W-what would you have done if I-I never accepted you?" I asked and his eyes darkened a bit and his hold on my waist tightened.
"I don't think you need to know that," he told me softly.
My heart was beating from the passionate look swirling in his eyes as he they glazed over.
Was he thinking of what he would have done?
Reaching up I trailed my finger across his lips, he snapped out of it his daze, a soft expression taking hold in his eyes.
"I'm here Liam and since I found you I don't want to let you go either. Now stop thinking of things that could hurt you. I'm sorry I brought it up."
He smiled under my finger before opening his mouth and taking it gently between his teeth.
Playfully glaring at him I snatched my finger back.
"Bad wolf," I scolded and he swept me in his arms burying his face in my neck.
"I'll show you bad," he growled, nuzzling, causing me to burst in a fit of giggles.
"Liam stop," I exclaimed wiggling in his arm trying my best to get away from him.
"Sister entering the kitchen."
We stopped as we turned to see Connie with her hand covering her eyes at the door way.
Snickering I shook my head.
"It's not like were naked Connie," I told her and she took her hand away with a relived sigh.
"Good because that would have scarred me for life," she said going straight for the cabinet and pulling out a bag of hot Cheetos.
The last bag, which were mine.
"Don't eat all of those," I warned her as Liam set me back on my feet but he wrapped his arms around me, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"I'm not, chill," she said looking back at us and a smile broke out on her face.
"Aww... isn't that just adorable," she cooed and my face flushed as I felt Liam shaking against my back.
"Shut up Connie," I huffed untangling Liam's arms and marched back to the couch.
Falling back with my arms crossed I glared at the T.V. as their laughter reached me, making my scowl deepen.
"Making fun of me," I muttered to myself.
"Oh come on Aiden she was playing around," Liam told me sitting back down holding out my coke.
"Uh huh." I replied, snatching my soda and took a big gulp, bad idea.
Soda came spewing out of my mouth as I started to choke like crazy, clutching my throat as it burned.
I could hear Connie's cackling somewhere behind me while Liam did his best to save my precious life by slapping my back.
Once I could breathe, Liam looking down at me with concern and I gave him an embarrassed smirk.
"Are you okay?" he asked and I nodded, then looked over to see Connie rolling around on the floor clutching her stomach, laughing her blonde little head off.
I growled at her.
"It wasn't that funny," I yelled at her and she was gulping for air as she calmed down.
"No... no it wasn't," she gasps between snickers pulling herself up on her hands.
"It was hilarious," she added and then she went back into fits of laughter.
"Ugh," I exclaimed.
I shot up from the couch and marched up the stairs... I knew Liam was behind me following quietly, good boy.
We walked in my bedroom Liam sat on the bed while I stuck my head out my door.
"You ruined my marathon, twerp."
And slammed the door.
I could still hear her as I leant my back against the door knowing Liam's eyes were on me.
"So what now?" he asked me and I met his gaze.
"I don't know," I said.
I shrugged as I strode across the room, kneeling on my bed over him; pushing him down on his back.
His lustful gaze made my body burn for his touch, begging to have him rip off... No, stop.
Bad Aiden no naughty thoughts.
"Aiden being behind closed doors is not a good idea. Only pleasure will come from it," he said huskily roaming his hands up and down my sides.
"I know, that's why we're going to continue to watch my show," I said reaching over him to my night stand grabbing my remote, like it was my plan all along.
Smiling I turned the TV on and flipping through the channels till I found it.
Liam groaned, still on his back at the end of the bed staring up at the ceiling.
I threw the remote somewhere on the bed and got comfortable on my stomach, my head facing the foot of the bed resting my chin on Liam's hard stomach.
I watched my show, it was at the point where the human changed in to his wolf form and I couldn't help but think Liam was prettier than him and much, much bigger.
I almost laughed out loud from it.
"Aiden, do you want to come and tell my parents about us?" he asked suddenly, his question stunned me.
I turned my head to look at him. I met them that one day.
They were nice but how would they react to this whole situation?
Liam raised up on his elbows and looked down at me.
"They're going to find out one day," he told me and I bit my lip, a nervous habit.
"I know that but I'm kind of scared," I confessed and Liam gave me a determined look.
"No one is going to hurt you Aiden, I won't let them," he reassured me sternly.
"I know but if we come out to your parents wouldn't that mean the whole pack will know?" I asked and sighing he nodded.
"Aiden you're my mate meaning you will be by my side. I'm the future Alpha making you Alpha as well."
My jaw dropped.
"W-wait, what?" I stuttered.
'Me? Alpha?'
"Yes, Aiden you will be ruling by my side," he said combing one of his hands through my hair. I scrambled up on my knees.
"Rule? No I can't rule people," I exclaimed and he furrowed his brows as he sat up.
"I thought you understood that."
I shook my head fiercely.
"No. I didn't and you didn't to tell me either."
I was freaking, how was I was supposed to rule a pack when I couldn't even face the bullies at school.
Plus I cower whenever I'm around Brent.
How the hell was I going to be strong enough to help Liam lead his pack?
"I don't mean to scare you but sooner or later we're going to have to face the fact that people will know about us. It will be hard but we can do it Aiden together."
I think I'm hyperventilating.
A frightened look came across his face as he lifted me on his lap.
"Shh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have just sprung that on you," he was soothing me by stroking the back of my hair.
Sighing in his chest my nerves calming immediately from his electric touch.
"We'll talk about this another time, Okay?"
I nodded.
I don't think I could do what he wanted from me.
I wasn't cut out for something like that.
"I don't want to lose you Aiden and if this is too much I will gladly reject the Alpha for you. We can go away together and live a normal life if that's what it takes to make you happy. I'm willing to do anything for you. Remember nothing in this world is as important as you"

The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015)
Tumblr media
While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...
While the Divergent series attempts to capture the excitement of the Hunger Games franchise with its follow-up, Insurgent, this sequel is most similar to the worst of the Twilight films: New Moon. It pointlessly kills time before simply regurgitating the most interesting scenes from the first film. Then, it ends on a note that makes you wonder how many more of these films we still have to sit through. You'll be bored all the way through its nearly 2-hour running time.
Having foiled Erudite Leader Jeanine (Kate Winslet) and her evil plan to take over Chicago, Tris (Shailene Woodley) is on the run. Accompanied by Four (Theo James), Peter (Miles Teller) and Caleb (Ansel Elgort), they search for allies to stop Jeanine once more. It's only a matter of time before she opens the mysterious five-sided box she claims will give her the ability to end the Divergent problem once and for all.
If you powered through Tris’ first adventure and didn’t quite buy the world it was set in, I’ve got some bad news for you. This loopy post-apocalyptic society where everyone is sorted into categories based on how one-dimensional they are? It doesn’t make any more sense this time around. Actually, the more we see of this world, the less logical it seems. I’ve seen this film twice and I'm still unsure - personality-wise - how the now-defunct political class of Abegnation (who strive to be as selfless as possible) differs from the Amity (farmers who always wish each other peace and well). Director Robert Schwentke is working with such weak material and the plot does no one any favors. Much of Insurgent repeats what we saw before, except this time, we don’t even have the tension of whether Tris will make the Dauntless team or not.
I know this is the future and it’s so removed from our society that people think differently but this only goes so far. Every hero we meet is flat and uninteresting. That goes double for the villains. There’s the power-hungry Jeanine, who is convinced the five-sided box that can only be opened by a divergent… will prove that divergent’s are good for nothing but extermination. I thought she was supposed to be from the smart faction. Without knowing what the contents are, the fact that a divergent person is the key… kinda proves the people who set up this crazy city believed divergents would be a lasting thing, wouldn’t it? Then, there’s Jai Courtney as Eric, Jeanine’s chief enforcer who, of course, delights in massacring innocents because… HE’S EVIL! The faster he gets defeated, the better but as annoying as he is, it's nothing compared to Miles Teller as Peter, who is tagging along with Tris and her friends for reasons no one watching will understand. Didn't he betray them at the end of the last film? What makes them think he’s trustworthy now?
Despite a couple of flashy scenes and some developments in the romance between Tris and Four, Insurgent will threaten to put you to sleep. This film ends on a note that promises a sequel… but also doesn’t, as if no one was confident enough in the final product to fully commit. Those who read the books by Veronica Roth may be excited enough when they see what they pictured in their heads come to life to look past the numerous logical holes in the story. Even so, I bet they’d all rather be watching The Hunger Games. (On Blu-ray, October 12, 2018)

The difference of dynamics
As I listen to Neil drone
On and on, yet beautifully ornate
About Irene and her serenity, I can only think
“When will this water boil?”
When will I have space?
Words of drunk men, mostly,
(Women have better points,
And most times, more relevant stories)
Tend to tail off
And slip down drains,
Rain starts to dribble under
The shitty windows neglected for years by underattentive landlords,
With a quick look outside
Sees a concentrated Nancy,
My effusive, good-looking and good-hearted neighbor,
Stretching to attempt a run
in near-downpour conditions.
She is determined person.
We had met at Cuneen’s
Where we both have a known drink and a regular bar stool,
but beforehand never realized our proximity to each other,
And we try to make each other laugh,
Sometimes,
As we de-clothe each other,
after the bar, at one of our respective apartments,
Usually on the third Friday of every month.
Neil snaps me back,
“I mean, you know you had it, right? Jeanine?”
And did I?
Was she all that real to me?
You try to give a person space and respect,
You always approach a relationship with yourself
and a new attitude,
But did I?
Jeanine was defiant
And definitely, fervently herself,
A sanctum goth,
forward and uncompromised,
Who danced to certain Billy Joel sings
Sometimes
And it made me love her
-or my idea of a want to love her-
But we hung on too long,
When we stayed too late
At the party that was us,
And we both ruined each other
And we both knew it.
“I saw her two days ago on the 22,”
I say, observantly; satisfactorily.
Neil echoes a wobbly,
“22?”
A long pause.
He formulates a long, but simple question,
“Going North or South?”
“North,” in replay I say,
Staring into a tea cup with a dry bag
waiting,
What I don’t tell Neil is that she was not alone,
And her companion,
A flannel-weared, bear-of-man,
Gripping her leg and (like it was poorly scripted in a sitcom-of-the-week)
An IPA of something,
As she felt her uniform
-A polyvinyl short trench-
-That one checkered gray skirt-
-And stretched and spidered pantyhose-
Everything,
All black, always.
What I didn’t tell Neil
Was that Jeanine clocked me,
Quickly and peripherally when I entered the bus,
And averted her eyes down
And gripped her forehead,
As if a pang of headache had gripped her.
I recognized such sudden pain.
I didn’t tell Neil
That I pulled up my mask
And pulled down my hat,
And worked my way past them
And down to the back of the bus.
But she knew it was me.
We knew it was each other.
We remembered what it was like
to watch each other travel,
Ever briefly,
For we had moved in and around each others’ beings/spaces for so long
This new brief exchange felt natural, yet awkward
simultaneously.
She had to know it was me.
Hell, she bought me that hat.
I believed that I was out of sight,
But since it was the 22,
The bus was an accordion, the banana,
Professionally,
An articulated carriage,
So even though the route is usually
A straight-line, straight-shot,
it places ever slight bends on Clark
At North and at Wrightwood,
So I still saw her again
(And I suppose, her to me)
Nonetheless.
I got off at my usual,
Cullom,
And tried the back door,
It lit green and impatiently beeped,
But the door
Never became ajar.
The driver yelled at me to use the front,
So mask-up, hat-down,
I hurried to the front
Past her and her carnivore,
Made a beeline past her as she applied eyeliner,
So she had to look up,
past the roof, past the heavens,
so the cosmetic wouldn’t touch the oculus,
eyes wide open,
yet seeing nothing,
A deliberate act to not notice me as I passed.
“Good show”, I thought,
And turned back to her and smirked.
Eyes applied, she darted hers quickly to mine,
Shut down her mirror’s lid resoundly
And gave me a smirk just the same,
Before turning abruptly
To whatever was her new flanneled thing.
I walked the two blocks home
Deep in memory;
A memory of what-might-have-been,
Reliving a history,
That never happened.
“I guess she still lives in Andersonville.”
Neil mumbled while rubbing his eyes.
It snapped me back again, a second,
With Neil, at his best,
Always knowing unconsciously,
When I needed to be reigned back in
Either loud and abruptly,
Or obliviously,
lost in his own world of words,
Me just being the passenger.
I made my way over to the kettle
To make sure it was set to boil.
The whistle began to pierce and
The hot bubbles spilled over.
I inhaled deeply.
“Yeah, I guess she still lives in Andersonville”,
I replied knowing every inch of that was true.
I filled our cups.
Neil most-needed the tea and reached for the honey,
I poured mine,
Returned the kettle to the burner
And sat,
Taking in the steam.

Roswell, New Mexico star Michael Trevino is stepping behind the camera for what he’s calling “the Avengers assembling to come together for one common goal” episode of the series.
In August 8’s “Wild Wild West,” it’s up to everyone to save Liz (Jeanine Mason) after Shivani (Rehka Sharma) exposed her to the alien-power mist. As a result, Liz ends up in a mindscape set in the wild, wild west, and it soon becomes not just about saving her, but Max (Nathan Dean) as well.
Trevino previews the episode (including Shiri Appleby’s appearance), talks about directing, and teases how it will all end for Kyle and his relationship with Isobel (Lily Cowles).
What made this episode the right one for your TV directing debut? You did a short [Two Roads] previously.
Michael Trevino: I did. I did a short film after Season 3. I’ve been shadowing all the directors on our series since the pilot, since Julie Plec directed our pilot, and I made it a point to communicate clearly, if this show goes for multiple seasons, at some point, I’d really like the opportunity to direct. I learned a lot. Being on set as an actor, I’m always trying to just see what every department is doing. And this was the season that they finally gave me a shot. I think doing the short film for myself after Season 3 had a lot to do with that, just for them to see how serious I was about it, and so I’m glad that it happened.
Can you preview the episode? We know Liz is out in a mindscape after inhaling that mist, and everyone’s trying to save her.
That’s where we’re at, yeah. I got lucky where this episode starts strong, especially given the way the last episode ended, and it’s the lead of our show, it’s our hero, Liz and she is knocked out and it’s all hands on deck. Everybody’s coming together as a team. I remember at the beginning, to me, it read like this was the Avengers assembling to come together for one common goal and it was to save her life.
We do see Kyle in the mindscape, just not as fans might expect. What can you tease?
[Laughs] I can say that Kyle is definitely in this episode, but in a way that you’ve never seen him before, but is clearly, to me, the MVP of the episode and when you watch, you’ll see why.
Talk about directing the wild west scenes. Those were so much fun.
They were. It’s all of our cast in one scene, and that is such a gift because everybody’s so talented and it brings the stakes that much higher because everybody is together. But I will say that they are more difficult to shoot. Doing the coverage on that many actors in one scene and blocking them in the proper position so I can best tell the story within our 12 hour day of getting seven to eight pages, it’s a bit of a challenge. But that’s part of the work, that’s part of the creative process and having to lean on those around me was very helpful in doing that.
It seems like there weren’t that many locations, mainly the wild west and the hospital room.
It was. And so for me, we [had] never shot at that wild west ranch that is out in Santa Fe, New Mexico. That was completely new. And so it’s always exciting to step into a new set, a new space, a new environment, and just find a way to tell the story. As much as it is daunting and I don’t mean to say fearful, but it is a bit scary, but once you do the prep and you figure it out and do one thing at a time, you have a plan in place and how to do coverage on each scene.
We do see Shiri Appleby in this episode. What can you tell us about that?
To me, this has been a long time coming. Everybody who has been following us knows that Shiri Appleby has been able to direct a few episodes for us. She is the OG of the Roswell family. We are going to see her in front of the camera. That’s public knowledge. I hope people are excited. It’s nice to see her, and you would imagine her scenes are going to be with our version of Liz. I think it was just such a special moment to have her on the set, kind of a full circle moment. We’re very familiar with her, because like I said, she’s directed multiple episodes. But she is big in this storyline.
I was going to say you two swap places — she directed you, now you’re directing her.
Yes, which was interesting. And the thing is with this being my first time behind the camera and directing, it’s a bit nerve-wracking and I have to say that I’m just grateful that all the actors had my back, were supportive of me and in any moment that I needed help in communicating certain notes, they were very receptive towards working with me.
I will say the last scene in the episode with Jeanine and Shiri Appleby, it was right before lunch and we had to get this scene in before lunch, otherwise we were gonna lose daylight. And unfortunately we had to rush the shooting of that scene a bit. And I remember going to [Shiri] and saying, “Hey, I do apologize that this isn’t a pace that I want to work with, but right now, I’m getting rushed to finish the scene before lunch.” And I just felt so bad because I’ve been there before — obviously as an actor, you’re trying to have these moments in your performance and you’re being just rushed because we gotta get it before lunch — but that is the nature of the beast. She was just so supportive and saying,”Don’t even worry about it. You’re doing fine. Stay in it.” Because I was so in my head at times — how can you not be? I overthink to a fault. And I went to her and she just told me, “Stay calm. You’re doing fine. Everything’s going great.” And so little moments like that are super, super helpful.
Do you think you overthink also because you know from the other side, from being in front of the camera, too?
I do a bit, but if I’m being honest, I overthink everything constantly. It’s a bad habit, and I try to work on that, but with this, there’s just so many moving parts. Directing network television is being handed the keys to a giant machine and it’s gonna move with you or without you. It’s just about staying on top of it and communicating clearly to everybody that is on a set, and it’s exhilarating as much as it is just bonkers at times. It really is, but I love it.
Kyle and Isobel’s relationship is complicated, to say the least. She doesn’t want him waiting for her, but how is he feeling about her and their future? Is he more optimistic or pessimistic?
Honestly, over the years, I feel like so much has been thrown at him and him trying to put out fires in other people’s business and problems that I feel he’s wholeheartedly optimistic. I think he has to be, since the death of his father, and in living his life, he’s chosen to stay steadfast in that mindset because otherwise I feel like he loses it all. So I think he stays optimistic.
What’s next for Kyle and Isobel?
It’s one of those early-on relationships where somebody is more invested than the other, but you’re each trying to suss each other out on how serious is this relationship. But like most things in Roswell, I think there’s gonna be some outside circumstances that bring them together as much as it pulls them apart. But towards the end of the season, I think we put a nice bow on their relationship since this season is our last.
Speaking of that, what can you say about how the series ends for Kyle? I just want him to catch a break.
No, the guy never does. And I love that though, because it allows me to, as an actor, perform with everybody and be part of every storyline, so I’m super grateful for that. But Kyle can never catch a break. The guy is always on the run, taking care of something or managing some crisis and that doesn’t end, not in our world of Roswell, and it continues on to the end, but this being the final season, I think there is a nice sendoff here or an end to this chapter for us all.

Sudden Changes (Part Two)
When you, an Erudite, accidentally stumble upon Jeanine Matthew’s plans, she forces you to transfer to Dauntless. Your only hope is to blend in, although Four seems less willing to let that happen.
part one / masterlist / part three
Tumblr media
This first encounter sets you on edge. You hate to admit it, that barely a few minutes into your tenure at Dauntless you’re already convincing yourself it’s all a mistake, but that’s the way it is. This is probably how your life will be until the day you die- terrified over the smallest of incidents, sure that any small happening means that Jeanine Matthews will be sending an assassin your way. This is no way to live, but you’re not sure that you have a choice about it. No, you have no choices left at all.
It was either this or die outright, you remind yourself. Even this nerve-strained way of life is better than that initial bullet. At least now you have time to grow and at least pretend that you got the easy way out, right? However, you’re not sure where to go from now. Jeanine included no terms of service in her deal. In fact, the only thing she said was that you would have to choose Dauntless. Then again, you’re fairly sure that if this man, Four, found out what you’d seen, you’d be back in that same scared place where you started.
That’s why you were sent to Dauntless in the first place, isn’t it? Jeanine wanted you to keep your mouth shut. You’d either learn to live as a mindless, brainless soldier, seamlessly fitting into the ranks, or you’d die and be stuck as a washed-out factionless roaming the streets, with nothing to do and no one to listen to you. However, you’re fairly sure that she hadn’t counted on one of her own Dauntless leaders questioning your presence here. Apparently Jeanine’s agenda only extends so far as herself, although that’s no surprise to anyone who’s ever known her.
This man, Four, however, you don’t know him as well. You may know Jeanine, or at least you thought you had, but he is a complete blank to you. You could swear that he looks familiar, like you’ve seen his face before, but every time you comb your memories, searching for a name to put to the face, you can’t remember a thing. This is unfortunate, especially since remembering who Four is could mean the difference between coming face to face with another one of Jeanine’s guards or accidentally discovering someone who could be an ally to you.
Regardless of who Four is or what his intentions are, you can be sure of one thing: he knows you, or must recognize you from somewhere, and he’s not going to leave you alone anytime soon. Ever since that first meeting, when he’d stared at you like you were someone he had pushed to the farthest corners of his mind, sure that he’d never see you again, it was as if he had sworn to himself that he’d never leave you alone. Wherever you look, he is there: down the table in the mess hall, watching you spar in training, eyes locked onto your knives and targets as you throw. His presence is silent, and he’s about as likely to say anything to you as any of the other initiates, but it’s there nonetheless. You can’t help but feel unnerved. You had hoped to blend into the crowds of trainees, but Four is making that impossible.
So, you throw yourself into your training with additional fervor. If he’s going to keep watching you, you might as well make sure that everyone else is watching you as well. Target practice, both with a knife and a gun, comes surprisingly easy to you. Maybe it’s because they both rely on taking careful aim, having perfect balance between what the eye sees and what the mind knows to be true. It’s about as close as you’ll ever get to Erudite in this dark corner of the city that the madmen call Dauntless.
Hand-to-hand combat, on the other hand, is not your forte. Not at all. You get the drills, sure, and it’s a good workout, but every time you’re put up against another opponent it’s like you’re missing some key part of a melody, repeating the same choppy chords while everyone else is improvising an entire symphony. Your punches are solid and sure, exactly what you’d practiced, but you can’t seem to quite put the pieces together the way the other initiates can.
Maybe it’s because you’re not used to this, the abandonment of all rational thought. As you watch your opponents, you notice one common thread among all those who win: they seem to run on pure adrenaline, and even when they study their opponent’s thought patterns, they don’t get lost in their heads, moving only with the speed of their fists. That’s where you’re lacking, you suppose, you’re still trying to cling to your past. If you let yourself truly fall, you might find something other than just the rocks at the bottom.
It’s after one of these days, when you just managed to eke out a victory over a girl who’s one place away from the bottom of the rankings, that Four finally approaches you. He walks next to you, arms folded across his chest. “You know, I figured that for someone who’s so good at rifles and knives, you’d be a little better in actual fighting.” You scoff. “Thanks for the kind words. I’ll cherish them always.”
Four chuckles. “Oh, don’t take it the wrong way. I’m just wondering why someone who’s supposed to be the best of the best back in Erudite would transfer away, and especially to a place that she doesn’t even seem to like.” You freeze slightly, then keep walking, hoping to cover up your slight lapse. Judging by the sharp look in Four’s eyes, though, he hasn’t missed a thing. “Maybe I wanted a challenge.”
Four raises his eyebrows. “I can’t help but doubt that. Why are you really here?” You weren’t expecting him to confront you like this, not here and not now. He isn’t dancing around the issue, not at all. You weren’t anticipating such a direct question, and you don’t have a solid alibi lined up. Instead, you deflect, hoping he’ll leave well enough alone, although you doubt you’ll be that lucky. “Why are you so interested in my motives? Don’t you have an entire other group of initiates to question?”
Four shrugs. “All of them make sense. All of them look like they’re happy to be here. You, though, you keep backing down. You’ll be in the middle of a fight, about to win, and then something comes over you, like you regret being here at all. You’re holding yourself back, and I want to know why.” This takes you by surprise. You knew he was trying to figure you out, but you weren’t expecting such an accurate appraisal. “We all have our bad habits. I still can’t figure out why mine is worth your trouble.”
Four stops walking, forcing you to stop next to him. “You’re interesting, Y/N. I saw you before, back in Erudite. I don’t think you would have left there for a second, and you don’t like you entirely want to be here now. You could have made a last minute switch, but that doesn’t seem like you. Either you’re making a point of trying to never be true to yourself, or there’s something going wrong.”
He walks away now, leaving you stunned and staring after him. You can’t help but flash back to the look in Jeanine’s eyes when she’d watched you walk away, remembering the cold glare of a woman who would be willing to kill anyone who got in her way. If you confess everything to Four now, if you tell him what truly went down, what would happen to you? Would Jeanine find out? Would she let you live?
As it turns out, you’re not sure that you’re going to have much of a choice. You manage to scrape through the first stage of training, especially due to your skill with a gun and a knife. You were able to improve your physical fighting skills after you picked up on Four’s silent hint to be more aggressive and just go for it, and you find yourself comfortably within the upper half of the initiates. Not bad for someone who’s not supposed to be here at all.
The next stage of training, on the other hand, seems even worse than the first one. When Eric and Four explain what your fear landscape is and how you’ll be traversing it, a silent storm of dread rises up inside of you. You know what your worst fear is- being found out, watching one of Jeanine’s guards place the barrel of a guard in front of your skull. You have no doubt that it will show up in your fear landscape, and you have no idea how to explain it away without revealing yourself. You’ve been thinking of potential alibis for days, but none of them make sense.
So, when you walk in the door to your first fear landscape training session and see Four waiting for you, you can’t help but groan inwardly. There’s no getting out of this, is there? Four will know the truth, you’ll be in even worse danger than before. When Four places the needle in your neck, he must sense the tension radiating out from your every movement, because he reaches down and takes your hand. “You’ll be fine, honestly. This entire stage of training will take place in your head. From what I’ve heard, that’s your strongest suit.” Then you’re pulled under the tow of the drug, and you can spare no more thoughts towards the comforting look in his eyes as he looks down at you.
You progress through your first few fears without too much difficulty. The last one, the most difficult one to face, is the one you’d been dreading all along. The scene shifts into a familiar hall at Erudite, the one where the windows progressively disappear, as do the cameras. If only you’d noticed the way that the building practically called out for you to turn around and run. Maybe then you’d have made it out without all of this. Maybe then you’d still be at Erudite, with no idea of the thrills of life at Dauntless.
A new thought flies into your head, one calling for you to run. If you turn around now, you won’t have to see the scene over again. You wouldn’t have to know any of this, you could make it out. However, your footsteps continue down the hall, carrying towards the open door that you know will lead to the large room full of Jeanine’s plans. You’re already here, you might as well see the whole thing through.
So, you keep walking, and when the ceiling opens up before you to reveal the room you’ve seen so many times before, whenever you close your eyes, you don’t run. When the guards come over, pointing guns at your head, you don’t back down for a second. Instead, you let your fists fly out as you’ve been taught, and you take them down without another thought towards the matter. This is what you’ve been learning all along- not to regret what might have been, but to fight. You’ve always been fighting, you realize. Maybe Dauntless provided you with the opportunity to make it all count for something.
You grab one of the guards’ guns, and when you turn back around, Jeanine is in front of you. Her voice is cajoling, as if you’re one of her students again. “Y/N, what is this? Don’t be ridiculous, put the gun down.” You shake your head. “You can’t scare me any longer. You might have forced my path, but I’ve made it my own. You won’t control my thoughts any longer.” You know the simulation, you know what you’re expected to do. All the same, when your finger closes on the trigger, you can’t help but look away, unable to stare your mentor in the face as you point the gun her way.
You wake back up in the Dauntless room, gunshot echoing in your ears. Four is staring at you with unabashed horror. “That’s why you left? You found out something that Jeanine Matthews wanted to cover up?” You nod, wrapping your arms around you as if the meager warmth can stave off everything that you’d seen. “I wasn’t supposed to be there that day. She gave me a choice: I could either transfer here or die by the end of the night.”
You’re not sure why you’re telling Four everything, not now. You’ve been so afraid of letting anyone know anything about you, and here you are, spilling your entire heart out to Four like he’ll be willing to watch over it for you. However, he doesn’t look like he’s about to rat you out to the Erudite guards. Instead, he’s shaking his head softly, his face wrought with something almost like guilt. “I just- do you regret leaving? You were meant to have a strong future in Erudite, to do things that no one else had even dreamed about. Now you’re here, a soldier for the rest of your life. If you could set things right, would you?”
Your attention snaps back to him. Those are dangerous words, and he knows that. Even entertaining that thought would mean rising up against Jeanine, against Erudite and the other factions. So, you stand up to face him, unwilling to commit to anything until you know Four’s true motives. “It depends on what setting things right would mean. This is a tricky city, you know. Anything anyone says could be taken the other way.”
Four sighs. “Right. I should clarify. This city, this faction system, is flawed. You know that. There are people with too much power over everyone else, and the factions don’t account for everyone.” You stare at him. “You’re talking about the Divergents.” Four hesitates, confidence wavering as if he’s about to make the worst decision of his life. “I’m one of them.” You shake your head softly. “Even saying that could get you killed. Why are you trusting me with this?”
Four steps forward, taking your hand. “I want you to remember everything you saw in that room. If Jeanine was willing to kill one of her best students, she must be covering up something big. If you can tell me everything you remember about what was in that room, we might be able to have some leverage. Leverage can get you anywhere in this city.” You nod slowly, realizing what he’s saying. “It could make sure you stay alive, even if your secret comes out.”
Four inclines his head. He looks back to you know, eyes seeming to swallow you whole. “Will you do it? Will you work with me?” You give him a half smile. “I’m not sure that I have a choice. I’ve been running ever since I got here.” Four shakes his head. “That’s not an answer. Y/N, we could both be killed for this. If you want out, I won’t judge you for it.” Your smile broadens. You didn’t expect this generosity, not from him. “I’ll do it, Four. Honestly. I won’t back down now.” Four smiles in return, the expression almost foreign on him. It makes his eyes soften, the hard glares of a soldier gone from him. To be honest, it makes your own gaze stray on him for a little longer, unwilling to put away this picture of him in your head. “When do we begin?”

Things that Spark Joy-4x13
Well friends, we made it! And we get to end the season with some wedding bells (and an epic merch drop)! It wouldn’t be an RNM finale without a load of disappointment and that deep salt mine is here. But this is for the good things and all that wedded bliss, so for one final time, lets talk about it!
My girl Rosa coming in clutch!! Love that she got to whack Clyde with something. It’s what we’ve all wanted to do and felt very satisfying. And at the end of the day she did the right thing and went back to NY to continue her art studies. I’m so proud of her and so happy she didn’t let that town keep it’s grip on her. Be free! I’m still wondering about the regenerative property in her blood and if it means she’s going to live forever now. Good for her! Live that goth vampire life! (Michael’s gonna put him and Alex in a pod too and then they can all live happily forever and ever)
I never watched the OG show (though I do remember seeing the commercials and previews for it when it was on) but I did really enjoy Allie’s appearance in the finale and I wished we could have had the season centered on finding and healing Alex and had her off and on all season instead of Shivani. (No shade to her actress, she did great with her scenes, I just did not care about that storyline or like how any of it was handled.) Seeing her and Kyle and Liz working together was great! The whole vibe and energy of the scene was soooo smooth and soothing, I could have watched so much more of that! The moment with the Crashdown antenna headband and hugging Liz was all her and Jeanine having a nice bonding moment. Super cute!
Loved getting some more Isobel/Max scenes which we’ve been short on the past several seasons and most of this season as well. It was nice getting a final little look at Oasis too.
Both Isobel and Liz getting to outsmart Clyde was nice to see! I loved Isobel’s multiple gates trick, and it was SOOOO good to get badass Shotgun Liz back! “If you like Jones so much you can die like him” “Get off my planet” bitch what?! ICONIC. There is a reason Jeanine was hired as the lead and while the show often forgot that was her position, SHE never did and her line delivery remained on point until the end.
Watching Clyde and his “thanks for showing me how capable I am to rule” ass explode was nice
“What do we do now?” “Who wants to go to a wedding?” 🤣🤣🤣 Everyone is like, whoo boy I’m exhausted and Clyde is dead and Michel is just like “....yeah tragic. ANYWAY Imma go get married right this second, let me know if y’all wanna come.”
We got some great pod squad scenes this episode! Love love love Michael being so nervous about the wedding being perfect that his epic control is slipping and shaking everything. And they haven’t always done the Micahel/Max relationship very well in their quest to keep Max from looking “soft”, but this season has been pretty good for them, and Max showing up with Sanders was *chef’s kiss* perfect and exactly what Michael needed. The ending pod squad scene with Max reminding Michael and Isobel how much he loves and respects them was so sweet. Isobel going from the one Max and Michel were trying to protect as best they could to someone they now look to as a protector for their group was great to see! I wish we could have gotten one more scene at the portal with them before Max left, but this was a sweet scene for the three of them.
I’m glad Max isn’t going alone and that Dallas is going to get some answers as well and hopefully when they’re done and things are stable, Michael will get to visit and see the kind of world he always imagined.
They were crumbs for real, but we got Kybel looking adorable and so happy at the wedding, and Kyle being there to support Isobel as both Michael and Max leave like they would have after high school when she was panicking about it. That was a nice full circle moment showing how far she had come from then, and how far she had come in trusting someone again after Noah. Though I think she’s gonna convince Kyle to move hospitals and follow Michael and Alex wherever they move to and they will for sure end up with a summer home on Oasis and will take anniversary trips to Mexico as well.
I have...other feelings about Echo and their season arc and the ending, but this episode let them be much closer to their best selves that we fell in love with and I have no doubt that when he comes back to earth he’s going to reach out to Isobel first and have the wedding ready to go so he can step out of that portal and marry Liz. Or at least hop on a plane and meet everyone in Mexico for the beach wedding he and Liz deserve!
OKAY, MALEX WEDDING GOODNESS!!
Sanders coming in all dressed up and with something Nora gave him was just 😭😭😭😭 and then cracking a joke to break the tension because that’s the relationship him and Michael have always had and gives Michael something familiar to fall back on was perfect. I love Sanders SO MUCH and getting to see him looking so proud was amazing.
The tiny Alex/Liz crumbs of them snuggled up while Michael’s playing his song 😭😭😭 Tyler and Jeanine got on so well and we were robbed of seeing more scenes with them together so this moment is one I’ll treasure.
The song!! So perfect for them! And Michael getting to play this time for Alex was SO sweet.
I’m so glad Eduardo made it back from Mexico and got to be there for Alex! (and for Michael too because he definitely secretly adopted him in his heart too after Michael showed up in that shirt 🤣)
Dallas looking SO much happier officiating this time!!
The epic lens flair kiss! The parallel to the pilot kiss!!
Malex spending the entire reception being completely wrapped around each other just swaying on the dance floor is SO true of them. (Not like I wrote that in a fic already or anything, but glad to know I was so right!) I loved Vlamis’s little commentary that Tyler was just whispering things to him and trying to make him laugh the whole time. No ship has ever had better captains!
THEY MARRIED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS, DIDN’T YOU HEAR?!
ALEX GUERIN!!!!!! NEVER WAS MUCH OF A MANES MAN!!! SHUT UP I NEED TO GO CRY ABOUT THIS FOR AN HOUR.
Michael needing actual luggage now because he has home full of things and a HUSBAND now! 😭😭😭
The TRUCK, their safe space for so long, decked out in “Just Married” signs and cans and the whole shebang! Them getting one last Crashdown meal to go before they leave town (and decide to never come back, that’s why Michael needed so much luggage), their HEART EYES, and Michael’s joyful “let’s get the hell out of here”.
GOOD FOR THEM!! The writing may not have earned even half of this, but Vlamburn as always deliver 125% on every performance and they SOLD this love story and made the most of every crumb they got in this episode and even without epic vows or a big conversation between them, they continually gave us The Most in every shot, every scene, every background they were in. My bank account hates me, but my soul is so happy getting so much Malex wedding merch. WE deserve it as much as Malex do. Mr.’s Alex and Michael Guerin everyone! Cheers!

Liz Ortecho for ask game
The love of my life <3
favorite thing about them: she’s got this huge heart that shows no matter how hard she fights it. She built this cage to keep her from being hurt, but literally everything she does and doesn’t do is for and because of love. Whether it be choosing Regenerative medicine as her focus, leaving Diego, staying in Roswell, curing Steph, etc etc. But on top of all of that she has this passion and genuine love for facts and data, I mean the joy radiating from her when she gets to test a sample in 4x03 *chefs kiss* Jeanine’s acting is flawless
least favorite thing about them: again the dumbass writer’s room using her (the lead of their show) as nothing but a red herring for other characters plot points and never addressing her (their fucking leads) traumas and motivations she struggles seeing other people’s big pictures, easily drowning herself in what she had determined to be the biggest risk and therefore the most pressing issues (however, I see all of her faults and love her… easily)
favorite line: “I chose regenerative medicine as my focus when you died. ‘Cause I was broken. And I wanted to repair the irreparable.”
brOTP: Liz&Rosa they’re so iconically sisters and always switching roles within their relationship unlike a lot of tv siblings, there’s no definitive line of who’s more mature and the protector
OTP: Echo!!! But also Kaliz both at the same time if that makes sense
nOTP: I ship Liz with everyone tbh
random headcanon: I’ve shared this one a million times, but I love it so, she watches whale documentaries (or really anything about seas creatures and the ocean) while drinking copious amounts of wine, usually texting Maria&Alex a live feed of facts
unpopular opinion: I think she was in the wrong in s2, even though I understand why she did what she did because humans are messy
song i associate with them: Start by Ellie Goulding
favorite picture of them: all of them 🥰

Wooo, we’ve got a lot to unpack here and I’ve got a busy morning ahead of me, so let’s get started. I even have gifs this time! I loved this episode, and I already know this is going to be a long one, so grab a snack, some coffee, and let’s talk about 3x07.
Liz. Because she’s the protagonist I find it fitting to start with her, so. I loved Liz this episode. I didn’t dare skip anyone’s scenes as I’d been prone to doing for the past two seasons. I thought she was very smart, very brave, and when Jones told her that her death would be what saved him in the end, the tears in her eyes as she held that gun to Max - it was amazing. We all knew she wouldn’t hurt Max because she loved him, and you could really see on her face how badly it hurt her to hold a weapon against him at all. Well done, Jeanine, truly.
I can see now why people are shipping Isobel and Rosa. That said, I do still think they’re cuter with other people, but I like the connection between them, it’s very endearing.
Gregory’s very cute, I like his crush. I hope Maria can appreciate and care about him like he deserves.
I liked Michael and Rosa pairing up, then Isobel joining them. I couldn’t stop laughing when Michael just started hitting that car part with the screwdriver again and again, even when he saw what it was doing to Rosa’s head. I just - he’s so cute, he’s so funny. It always hits me hard how badly I’d missed my Michael Guerin, you know? It’s good to have him back.
Jones. Listen. I still don’t care, Jones is so freaking hot. Nathan Dean is really just knocking it out of the park each and every episode, I often forget that Max and Jones are played by the same person, I’m just loving him.
I did not see any of those twists coming at all. I didn’t see Jones being the Dictator, being Michael’s father?! When Michael was able to grab that sword, I thought, Oh my god, is he Jones’ biological brother?? But nope. His son. Guys. This means Michael has inherited all of Jones’ powers. So he has all of Max’s powers. That means the handprint. The multitude of fics I had planned the moment these twists came into play. You’re not ready.
One twist, which is not really a twist, that I had seen coming was that Eduardo Ramos was not the bad guy. I’ve mentioned it several times since the episode last week, but I knew there was more to it, I knew he wasn’t just a traitor, and I’m so glad I was right because I loved him and Alex together this episode.
Y’all. Is it just me, or does Ramos talk to Alex, not like another agent, but like he’s his freaking son? And I’m living for it. He’s just so fond of him and in awe of him all the time, I -
Listen. When Ramos tells Alex that he managed in a day what others couldn’t manage in months? I am dying for this acknowledgment of Alex’s genius this season!
And Alex! Oh. My. Gods. Don’t get me started. But I will anyway.
When he got angry at Ramos, I teared up. You could just feel his betrayal, the way he and Ramos both saw each other as something more. It’s like they can’t help but treat each other like family, and it made my heart swell.
Speaking of Alex’s anger, I’m sorry to be such a Marvel dork, but did his conversation with Ramos remind anybody of someone else?
Namely...
Tumblr media
Or...
Tumblr media
Every single thing Alex Manes says reminds me of Captain America in some way. Could he be any more of a freaking Avenger?!
Marvel. Listen. Stop wasting time and buy the rights to Alex Manes, bring him to the MCU, where he belongs. Bring Michael Guerin along. Do it, bring them home. I’ll come design a whole storyline for them. I’ve already got one. You’re in good hands, I promise you.
Also, to end the post, that brief kylex moment? Moved me to tears, I love their friendship so much.
I loved it. This episode was amazing. I can’t wait for the malex moments in the episodes to come, and I cannot emphasize how much I love the fact that every plotline in this show comes back to the Lockhart Machine. So it all ties back to Alex. Again with the Marvel dorkiness, but it feels like whenever I watch one of the individual Marvel movies, and Steve or Tony would get mentioned. You know that there’s always one storyline that connects all the others. And that’s Alex’s.
I can’t wait. Heather did an amazing job. What a real alien blast.

Amber Midthunder Talks Rosa's Roswell, New Mexico's Season 3 Journey & Excitement Over New Powers
Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 has shown us a new side to Rosa Ortecho.
Between exploring her powers and continuing to find herself in this new world, Rosa has found her niche within the group and has been a valuable asset in the fight against the season's big bad.
Amber Midthunder took a few minutes to talk with us about Rosa's journey, her favorite dynamics, and what she's excited for the audience to see over the final episodes this year!
Rosa has had quite the journey this season. Can you speak to that journey and what you enjoyed most about it?
I mean, what a big question. So, many things. The whole thing I've enjoyed. I think this season has been my favorite, both shooting and my experience just personally of shooting it was, I think, the most fun that I've had any of the years. And also kind of what she's getting to explore in so many ways.
She's quite on her own this year. Like first year it was a lot of flashbacks. Second-year, it was a lot of struggling. And I think this year it's her kind of walking on her little deer legs, trying to figure out who she is in this new life and this new time period on her own. So, all of it. I've had a lot of fun scenes with a lot of new people.
She had her storyline in the beginning with Wyatt. That was a fun story to explore. I got to have some really cool scenes with Michael Vlamis. That was a lot of fun.
And then the whole experience of the storyline with Lily and Heather was very heavy at times, but also very fun and exciting and cool for us to get to explore. So, I think all of it, just seeing her develop and kind of like stand on her own, is exciting for me as somebody who cares about her as a character, as a person.
And also, as an actor, to get to explore so many fun, new things has been very cool.
Totally. You touched on this a little bit there, but the story with Wyatt earlier in the season that was an unexpected one for the audience. What did you think about that relationship, and what do you think Rosa took away from it?
A lot of people have had, I think, a lot of feelings and a lot of opinions about it, and I don't think any of them are wrong. I think that what's fun about our show is we get to explore very strange what-ifs like, what if this person loses their memory and becomes completely different?
And what if this person dies, but ten years later, they're not really dead? So already, that's just like, when would that ever happen?
But it's cool in the sense that I think the grounded truths are that it's two people who relate to each other in a way.
I think that there are a lot of cool elements to their relationship and the way that they see each other and understand each other and share a lot of the same feelings about their town and where they are and how they feel.
If they feel outside or misunderstood or misplaced. That was something that was really fun and also very surprising to me to get to explore. And it was cool, and also I had a great acting partner, so it was cool.
The last time we saw Rosa, she was instrumental in severing the connection between Maria and Jones. Can you preview what's next for her as the fight against Jones continues?
I think for her, she's finding for herself that she has a real place in the group and in this world. I think that even before she came back, she struggled a lot with feeling like she had purpose or significance or like she could help anybody.
All she wanted to do was protect her sister, and the stakes were lower, maybe in like a TV sense, but to her quite high that she wanted to protect her family and set a good example for her sister and all those things. And she's felt like she couldn't do that.
Initially, she felt like there's just no chance for her ever to do anything good. Which was, I think, much of her struggle, like with her sobriety, but I think for her to realize that she has not just a purpose or position, but a responsibility and that she's needed is very satisfying and is very cool to see.
And so, I think in the next couple episodes, you'll see her find more of her position. And she's also still just trying to figure out who she is and where she lands. It's a very weird position she was put in, coming back from the dead. She's just trying to still regain her balance. And also, I think you'll see her find that for herself as well.
Sure. And yeah, Rosa was a fish out of water in a lot of ways in season two. And I think in season three, she's made a lot of strides in getting to know herself more. How do you feel like she's embraced this new world she came back to?
It's all the same people. It's just like dynamics are deeper. So, I think it's just her finding her new place and kind of getting over her ideas about things and understanding the realities of other people as well. Like her relationship with Isobel is a good example for that.
They share an abuser, and so what can easily look like she should have a lot of tension with Isobel because of what happened really becomes a common bond. And then they end up obviously being very close. I think it's her just opening her perspective but also staying firm in herself and what she knows to be true.
Where would you love to see Rosa's storyline go? We've seen her in rehab. I really love that touch of her at art therapy. Where do you see her going forward, or where would you like to see Rosa's storyline go moving forward?
Honestly, in episode 11, there's some pretty fun decisions and resolutions, and I'm excited for that. I'm excited to see what that looks like in the next season.
You touched on this earlier, too, about some of the dynamics that Rosa's gotten to have. There's Rosa and Liz, obviously Rosa and Isobel, Rosa and Kyle, Rosa and Michael. Is there a particular dynamic that you enjoy most on-screen for Rosa?
No, honestly, they've all been really fun. I think that's what's most surprising to me as an actor is that even though I'm living as the same character, all of the scenes feel so different.
All of the dynamics are so unique because all the relationships are so rich, and the histories are so rich. And that's what's cool about this story and the small town and the whole like the ten years of it all is that there's so much to explore one on one with each person.
The group scenes are so much fun, and the group dynamic is cool because all those are at play. But also, when you get to do one-on-one, you get into kind of the nitty-gritty of what's between two people, and the scenes between Rosa and Michael are so different from the scenes between Rosa and Kyle or Rosa and Isobel.
And then they all have their own. Each one is very different and really fun.
Rosa and Liz have such a beautiful sister relationship, and I love that scene towards the end of episode eight at the Wild Pony between them. Can you speak to that relationship and its importance to Rosa?
Yeah, I mean, that's like everything to her, right? That's the world. Before all of this happened, that was what she lived for was to protect her younger sister and to want her to do better than she did. And now she's seeing that, and she's seeing her sister live those things.
And even though we're living inside this weird sci-fi fantasy world. I think our writers and especially anytime that I get to work with Jeanine. Jeanine like is my sister.
So, it's fun, and it's nice. We have a lot of conversations, and we have a lot of talks about our scenes and what's happening, and where they're at. Honestly, even this season, the sisters have been quite separate, but always at the end, whether you see it or not, it's the two of them versus everything.
She and I always have a dialogue about, "Okay, well you're here, and I'm there, but where are they at?" And like, "What is their dynamic right now? What's going on with them?" So, I mean, to me, that's like the heartbeat of everything that they do, and that Rosa does.
I love getting to see Rosa explore her powers this season. How was that for you in getting to tap more into that side of Rosa?
It's so much fun. Honestly, I love having power. I was excited when I read it and when it first started happening and her having abilities. And I hope they just keep coming.
Yeah, me too. Is there a storyline this season outside of Rosa's that you really enjoyed on the show?
Oh yeah. I think Liz's whole California life has been so fun, seeing her in her other world and her with Heath and her really exploring her science. Obviously, it's always been present, but I think this year, more than anything, it has been pretty clutch. So that's been a lot of fun. And also just anything that Isobel ever does I love.
There's so much beauty in New Mexico, and it serves as such a beautiful backdrop for Roswell. What do you love most about filming in New Mexico?
That's where I grew up, so I get to be home with my family and much of the crew I've known since I was young. And so it's all just people and places that I'm familiar with, and it's such a unique experience. And I feel so lucky that I think just being home for me is great.
I mean, it's beautiful. There's good food. My loved ones are there. It's a pretty good setup for me.
That's wonderful. And the last question for me. Season three has been an exciting ride, and it's been a lot of fun for the audience. What are you looking forward to the audience seeing most in the final episodes?
Honestly, our fans are so vocal that I look forward to seeing what they have to say. I'm always excited, and we talk about it like, "Oh, when people see this, and people see that."
I'm excited for them to see just what happens with Jones and the dynamics between Liz and Max and where all the gang ends at the end of the season, and how everybody feels about it. I don't think they'll be disappointed.

“Things I don’t think everyone remember about the divergent trilogy or just stuff i wish we mentioned a little more ” PART 2
In the same initiates group of Tris’s year there was also an Amity transfer but he wasn’t brave enough to jump off the train
There was also another Erudite transfer but he didn’t make it to the train
16 years old Tobias thought the Prior family is the perfect Abnegation family
Christina jumped right after Tris
When Jeanine invented the fear serum she was only 16
That’s when Andrew Prior decided he wants to leave Erudite
Tori and Jeanine were classmates
Tobias has wrinkles near his eyebrows and mouth and on his chin when he smiles
Tobias is scared of Zeke and Uriah’s mom
Johanna Reyes doesn’t like Tris
Johanna was born in Candor
Caleb and Peter were friends in Allegiant
Tris knows how to knit
Will was also scared of heights
Tobias always sleeps on his stomach
Al had a spider tattoo on his arm
Tris was Veronica’s favorite character out of the trilogy
Tobias doesn’t like the winter
When Nita and Reggie tried to convince Tobias and Tris to act against the Bureau with them, Reggie showed them images of WW2
Tris used to be clumsy
Matthew exists
And his favorite faction is Erudite
Also he gets his hair to look messy on purpose
Tris has a fandom in the Bureau
Nita has a tattoo of shattered glass on her back
Uriah had a drinking problem
Zeke was also injected with the truth serum (and he was still funny)
The characters didn’t know about the existence of the outer space
Nor about air transport
Tori had a tattoo of a river on her right arm
Tris included Fernando as one of the best people she has ever met (Will and Cara are in that list too)
Apparently the Bureau also has access to the recording of people’s fear landscapes, Nita knew all about Tobias’s
Lynn doesn’t think being Divergent means there’s something different about someone’s brain, she believes it has something to do with the government distracting people from bigger issues
Caleb has long hair (I think people remember that but prefer to ignore it lol)
Cara and Jeanine worked together on the simulation serum before Jeanine became a leader
The fear serum shows you your worst nightmares therefore Tris’s worst fear is losing Tobias
Will wanted to be a Dauntless leader
So did Peter
Tobias smells like wind
Tris smells like apples
Christina smells like coconut oil
Tris died on a Saturday
Peter’s dad died when the Factionless and Dauntless attacked Erudite
Peter’s mom is a redhead
Natalie has dimples
Tris likes to run
But hates stairs
Christina and Will got out of their fear landscapes faster than Peter
The crows in Tris’s fear landscape resemble the fear of being powerless (aka her difficulties in Insurgent)
The water tank resembles the fear of the inability to escape (Agoraphobia) (aka her difficulties in Allegiant)
Since there are no big bodies of water in dystopian Chicago no one there knows how to swim

These started as casual scenarios I made as prep for nano, and now they are casual scenarios as warm-ups for my nano wips.
Scenario 13: amnesia x we are engaged
Pairing: Aaron x Daniel
WIP: And David Became Goliath, set in And One Day Turned Into Forever AU
Summary: person A wakes up to learn they are engaged and loved by person B, but they cannot recall anything other than previous misery, so things take a turn between the exposition of how they met.
Note: this like, got wildly sad more at the end, but, well, I did write this as fragments; also, influence of the ADBG worldbuilding on how religion works here.
Tagging: @mikoala02
-------
He wakes up wildly disoriented, his surroundings blurring in and out of focus at a nauseating speed.
“Daniel?” Someone calls him, and a hand is touching his face. “Take it easy; no strength of heart makes you immune to being hit by a car.”
Sooner than later, things settle down, and he can see the white man leaning over him, caressing the side of his face.
It is a level of affection Daniel hasn’t experienced in a long time, but he has to ask: “Who are you?”
The man frowns, a journey of emotions screaming themselves out in his disconcertingly highly expressive eyes, and he pulls his hand away, stepping back, and leaving without replying.
Fiancé. The man, Aaron, is his fiancé, who has brought him a change of clothes, and…
Daniel breathes in when Aaron steps closer to give him the bag. “Is that my cologne?”
Aaron hunches his shoulders, though, at his height and size, he could not make himself small if his life depended on it.
“I… I can’t wear your clothes,” he explains, gesturing at the broadness of his shoulders. “It would stretch them out, so, I… I improvise when I miss you.”
“… I see.”
It is not that Daniel doesn’t find Aaron attractive; his last memories are of being done with marriage, once had been enough — or so he assumed.
And he can tell Aaron is younger than him, even if so was Daniel in comparison to his ex-wife.
“How did we meet?” Daniel brings up the matter when they enter the car.
Aaron’s eyes widen, loudly, looking at anything that is not Daniel.
“How, Aaron?”
“Well…”
“How.”
“… I stepped in when you got mugged on the way to my work. I was in uniform, so you thought I was a cop…”
“And what else are you that you were in a uniform?”
The silence extends itself, and Daniel thinks that will be the end of the conversation.
“A stripper,” Aaron says. “I’m a stripper.”
Daniel stares, blank expression, slowly going over Aaron’s body, stopping on the color spreading across his cheeks.
“How do you do your job when you fluster this easy?”
Aaron smiles. “It’s because I care what you think, I value when you show interest in me. The same can’t be said of my clients.”
They dated for four years, and have been engaged for three months.
“How does my family feel about this all?”
“Well…” Aaron fiddles with the bunch of keys a little too long. “I get along with everyone…”
“That not my stepson?”
Once upon a time, Tyron was a kid. Then a bully that evolved into a bastard with little to be redeemed.
“That’s half of the story…”
Daniel grabs Aaron’s hand before he can unlock the door to their apartment.
“And the other half?”
“A year before we met, I dated him for four months… It… It wasn’t good… I only learned you were his stepfather during a much later family event… I might have broken his nose too.”
Daniel knows what Tyron’s relationships look like, they were after all the final straw that made him and Jeanine kick him out. “Was it enough?”
“No, but your pastor gave me permission to be the one to drag Tyron out whenever he shows up, as he is always uninvited.”
That gets the first transparent reaction of the day out of Daniel, and it is shock — he always was a man to hold his emotions together, away from prying eyes hoping for something to hold against him… And with Aaron…
His reputation used to mean everything for him, more so in the eyes of the people who were there when he most needed.
“Pastor Marcus?”
“Yes.”
“How does he feel about it?”
“He’s glad you’re seeking out your own happiness. Could have done it less… Less this,” Aaron points at himself, “but you did it.”
Later, Jeanine, and Aurelia, their daughter, came to visit for a moment while Aaron went to do the grocery shopping he neglected during the days Daniel was stuck at the hospital.
Jeanine makes herself comfortable on the couch, amused. “Has he already broken the secret for you? Your one and only shining stripper in a velcro uniform?”
Daniel looks up from his phone, where he browses the pictures. “Yes, he has. How did we even get close? He said he works at The Champions, and I don’t have that kind of money.”
Aurelia answers. “Clarissa and Clement are classmates with his adopted sister, Lilly. Their school got some extra funding for the child’s day celebrations, and in the week of events that followed, you two were part of the chaperones.”
Daniel raises his brows. “And you were around to help?”
Aurelia smiles, and she no longer has braces. “Seeing you not knowing what to say to an eight-year-old asking if you were gay was very entertaining.”
“… What even brought that up?”
“Aaron kept blushing when you paid attention to him, and Lilly wanted to know if you meant business.”
“Alright… I need to confirm something else: is Marcus really fine with this?”
“Aaron is some things…” Jeanine starts. “Including a highly devoted member of his church, a cult for Misery. He is as popular in his community as you are in ours, so some exceptions were made about his career choice.”
“… Do I ask for further explanation?”
“They say that through his faith, he is the David who became Goliath.”
Jeanine waits for Daniel to process the statement.
“And then he made Goliath his stripper name.
Alone, Daniel continues to browse the pictures — the gallery that used to be sparse is now full of photos taken by Aaron of their outings with other people, such as their families, their congregations, or simply acquaintances at some public events.
Eventually, he finds a password-locked folder, and though not advisable, he is glad he still uses the same passwords on rotation.
This time, there are only pictures taken by him, where the subject is Aaron.
He returns to the home screen, places the cellphone down on the dinner table, and takes a deep breath.
He isn’t fazed by the intimacy of them, it’s the trust the pictures require to exist that gets to him, the way Aaron looks at the camera when his face is present, where his profession would imply something coy or confident, there is only a tender gleam of joy in his eyes.
The harder he tries to think, the less he seems able to remember the present.
But he can remember the past, the yells, the fights, the disappearances. His family’s love couldn’t keep him safe from everything.
Aaron arrives home to an intoxicated Daniel at the dinner table, with a bottle of wine, making his cellphone spin on top of the wood.
Setting the groceries down at the entrance, Aaron closes the door and turns on the lights. “Daniel?”
Daniel’s eyes are red, enough tears still streaming down his face. “How did we get together?”
Aaron pulls a chair and sits in front of him. “What do you want to know?”
“How.”
“How what?”
Daniel wavers as he tries to articulate his words. “Why me?”
The corner of Aaron’s lips curls up in a small smile. “Why not you?”
He doesn’t wait for Daniel to answer, leaning forward and bringing Daniel’s hand to the side of his face, where it promptly cups his cheek, even if there is a tremble in its hold.
“Who we are is not limited to the facades we put up to survive the people around us.”
Daniel grimaces, more tears announcing themselves. “It… It’s not-“
They clearly had this conversation before. "The guise of calculated indifference they imposed on you as proof of competence, of being a man, doesn't negate that you do have a heart."
On one side, Daniel is aware the predicament is temporary, but why of all things he would wake up to learn he is loved, trusted, and yet cannot recall anything other than the miserable loneliness of being too cold, too distant, too insufficient as a lover?
“Do I love you back? Do I let you know?”
Aaron closes his eyes, nuzzling against Daniel’s hand. “You love me. You love me so much it’s breathtaking. You were hesitant at first, you didn’t want to let your guard down, and I had no hurry or need to tear you down, because your wariness never meant you neglected me.”
Daniel stays quiet, trying to regulate his breathing between the sobbing.
“You said it yourself,” Aaron continues. “There is joining someone in the sea, and there’s dragging them down and wondering why they drowned.”
Daniel’s voice is hoarse. “You love me.”
“I do.”
“You love me.”
“I do.”
“You love me.”
“I do. I’ll say it as many times as you want: I love you.”
When Daniel is back to full health and memory, they travel to a nearby city, to see the ocean.
Daniel is the first to go swimming, and Aaron watches for a while first before following him in — the impression he will sink like a stone never went away, but Daniel’s peace and happiness, as if he never had been more at home than when contemplating the tides, makes Aaron believe he won’t.

Note: I don't know how much more I'll write of this particular set up in another scenario, but the italicized sentences are things Daniel told Aaron, that Aaron is repeating to him.
