What are they generally like? Lucid, aware? Obsessive? How do they behave?

He's one that might be likely to misunderstand his feelings at first, think that he sees himself as a mentor or maybe even an authority figure, someone to guide you and teach you and serve as a dependable partner to your travels. As time goes on, and he begins to recognize how utterly flustered he gets around you, he's forced to acknowledge the actual feelings he has.

While some yanderes with a slight aloofness or pride to them get worse when in love, such as Childe or Kaeya, his drops completely. You bring out a softer side of him, really, one that's protective and tender and loving, so very loving, wanting to be around you, with you. He's certainly an obsessive, protective type, ultimately allowing his protective nature to get the better of him as he demands to know everything you've done, account for your location at every moment, constantly keep track of your habits, inquire about very personal details of your life. If he realizes you're bothered by it, he might draw back a bit, but he's convinced that that's just your perception, that it's necessary, truly, and not at all unusual.

Pet names. Particularly fond of love, darling, and angel. Sweet things that represent what you mean to him -- something precious, something to represent his adoration and idolization.

The primary form of delusion comes from a perception of you. He's obsessive, and idolizes you to an extent. He perceives you as pure, innocent, angelic. The thing is, this applies regardless of whether or not you actually are. If you are, it will solidify the idea, but even if you're not, he will find a way to see you so, anyway. No matter how wise you are, no, you're naive. No matter how capable you are, no, you're weak and fragile. No matter how experienced you may be, no, you're pure. He can always keep this delusion running by bringing into account age and comparison - you'll never be as strong as him, so you might as well be frail and weak. You'll never have lived as long as him, so really, do you think there's that much difference between you and a child, when compared to someone like himself?

How likely are they to kidnap their darling? How quickly will they do so?

Actually highly likely, and pretty quickly. As he observes you, it becomes very clear to him how very fragile you are, how naive you are, you are quite literally too pure, too angelic, to be living in this world with such beings as humans. Fragile, beautiful little things have a place where they belong - protected. Where do we put fragile, beautiful things? We put them behind glass, behind ropes, in pretty cages, in secluded rooms. It's only natural that you, too, need a similar environment.

He's one of the ones that will... Elegantly kidnap you, as odd as it sounds. He's not a brute that would do something horrendous like knocking you out or drugging you, no, he'll find an excuse for you to come to his abode, invite you in, and you'll walk in none the wiser. Only after your in, and the doors close, does he guide you to your new room, calmly explaining that he's come to the realization that you're too fragile to continue your journey, and ought to simply give up on your travels. He knows you'll be upset at first. Like a child being denied, you'll get pouty, moody, you might cry, you might lash out at him. It's predictable. He'll dry your eyes and calm you down, brushing off any harsh words you may have, holding your wrists in his hands when you try to push him away, softly reassuring you that it will all be alright, that you're safe now, and you'll learn to accept this with time.

How difficult is it to escape from them? How do they keep you restrained? How do they deal with attempted escape?

He would want something... elaborate. He's a man with taste for the most beautiful of things, including yourself, and he won't settle for something as simple as a chain or ropes. No, that would be too simple and brutish, and you, one of the finest things in his life, deserve something equally beautiful and delicate.

He's one of the ones that would go to a great deal of preparation for your arrival. He'd have a room prepared just for you, very ornate, beautifully tailored to you -- the walls your favorite color, the bed made of the same material as your old one, and the whole room completely filled with things you're certain you never even told him you liked. Clothes that fit perfectly to your body. It's frightening how perfect it is, because you know he had to go out of his way to acquire the information to achieve such perfection, but you have no idea how.

Everything about it elegant and detailed, right down to the series of ornate locks on the door. They're some of the sturdiest available, made with essentially unbreakable metal alloys and the most intricate lock systems to date. The windows don't open, and he'd certainly find some way to ensure escape through them isn't an option -- perhaps metal bars, perhaps an unbreakable glass substitute, perhaps merely locating your new home right on the edge of one of Liyue's most beautiful mountains, so that if you were to go out the window you'd plummet to the earth below. He's a bit delusional, but he's not stupid, and he will think through every possibility. Every little detail he needs to keep you safe and confined.

He's certain that, perfect as it is, this room is all you will ever need to be happy. Should you desire anything else, he can bring it to you. You'll never have to leave.

So it goes without saying that it would be exceptionally difficult to escape him. You'd have to find a way through the locks, for which your best bet would be to get some hair pins or tiny writing utensils. Even if you managed it, though, which would frankly be a very difficult feat, you'll have to deal with staying free. Zhongli has ties to the people of Liyue as a whole, and needless to say, he has eyes everywhere. You can't risk appearing in the harbor area, there will be far too many people who would immediately report you, and you'd just be walking right to him anyhow. The surrounding areas also have ties to him, so you'd want to try and reach Mondstadt, as far as it is, which is a difficult travel by foot all alone. You won't get far. He's faster, he's wiser, and he will find you long before you could ever hope to make it there.

However, he's not quite as angry as some yanderes would be about it. He doesn't take your escape personally, no, he blames himself, only calculating his own mistakes as to how it happened. He sees you as something like... a little runaway pet, so naive and dull that you don't know any better than to go wandering off. Or perhaps like a child, just sheepishly curious and wanting to explore, not knowing the dangers of the world. Or, perhaps...

"I haven't been giving you enough attention, have I? That's why you pulled this little act of rebellion... you're hurt by my negligence and wanted to be reassured of my care for you. I'm so sorry... I understand now, love. This was my fault. I've been so caught up with work... I'll delegate some tasks to my workers, and I'll be able to spend more time with you from now on, alright? Don't worry, I'm not angry, I'll take full responsibility. I'll be sure to make it up to you... now, let's go home."

How easy are they to trick, deceive, or manipulate?

Much like Childe or Venti or anyone who has been around as long as he has, you really don't stand a chance. He's an incredibly perceptive man. There's not much to say on the matter, as any attempts will be quickly shut down.

He'd find it amusing, really. Like a child trying to lie, but the evidence is all over their face and hands - it's that obvious to him. It's cute enough that he almost hates having to discipline you for it, but, you have to learn.

How lenient are they? What privileges can you have, and what will you be denied?

He wants his little angel to be safe - and unfortunately, you, being so naive and empty headed, don't always know what's best for you. He knows rules can be hard to follow perfectly, but they're there to keep you safe.

Extremely strict, will want to monitor every moment of your life, every little movement you take, and will insist on watching over you in every task. He'll pick out everything you wear, everything you eat.

Occasionally, if you ask very sweetly, he may take you out for walks in Liyue. Honestly, he'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy taking you to what he knows are the finest locations, shops with the highest level of craftsmanship, restaurants with a high price tag and reputable food. He enjoys showing off his refined tastes and discerning selective abilities. And honestly? There's a certain... Powerful feeling to knowing you're made aware of the costs when he makes high purchases in front of you... even if you don't realize he's not always actually the one paying for it, or that he forgot mora again but promises the owner to pay later - but he'll make sure you don't know that. You hear the numbers, and your eyebrows raise, your eyes widen. You'd nearly faint if that total was on your responsibility, and he knows that. Which is why he'll simply smile at you, and tell you you're worth every last Mora. He'll buy you nearly anything you may desire. It seems like leniency, but in reality, it's his subtle way of locking control and dependency over you, making you respect him, making you love him.

"Don't worry, love. It's not a lot... Not to me, at least. Even if it were, my angel only deserves the best, no?"

What kind of rules do they have? What kind of punishment would they use?

Oh dear. Again, he's very strict, and wants to monitor everything you do, every little aspect of your life. He decides what you eat, portioning your meals to make sure you're eating enough, he worries about you going hungry during your travels, but luckily you'll never have to worry about that again. If you have a sweet tooth, he'll sigh and worry about your teeth and health, but he'll make sure to account for a little bit of sugar in your day, and will even pick up little treats from some of the most reputable places in Liyue.

He picks out clothes for you with each day. They're not... Normal clothes, per se. Certainly not what you'd normally wear on your travels. And it's not like anyone will see you except him - which is exactly why you'll have clothes he would never want anyone else to see you in. Frilly, lacey things, somehow both highly sexualized but also incredibly infantile, soft pinks, baby blues, gentle off-whites. They accentuate the curves of your body so perfectly, while just barely letting him see the parts of you normally kept hidden.

You'll have a schedule - a bath time, a bedtime, a wake-up time. He's weak to your requests, though, and may let you stay up a little late every now and then, or sleep in just a bit, if you make that soft pouting face and beg. He'll insist on bathing you, dressing you, so that you don't have to - and can't even if you wanted to - lift a finger even to wash yourself or put your clothes on.

He has a set of rules for you, very simple ones he hopes you can easily follow. No trying to leave. No doing anything dangerous. No talking to strangers when you go out. You must hold his hand whenever you're walking together, don't go wandering off.

He'll feel ashamed of the thought for a while, but eventually he'll cave and give into the desire, no, the security precaution, of a nice little collar for you. It's not too embarrassing, no, he went out of his way to find one that was delicate, almost like a necklace, made with fine materials, the engraving only visible up close. If you look closely, though, it clearly bears his name.

Breaking the rules is expected, he anticipates it. You're not the brightest, he might even view it as a mistake. A benefit is that you can easily pass it off as simply forgotten, or an accident. Hence, he's not too harsh - normally. He'll sigh, forgive you, and pat your head, contemplating how to prevent your access in the future.

Perhaps you wriggled out of his hand and ran off while walking? You were just excited, distracted, like a child. He might be able to procure a small leash, one that wouldn't be immediately obvious or embarrassing, to attach to your collar. Perhaps some cuff-like links to latch your arm to his.

You forgot the rule about not handling the kitchen knives and cut yourself? He'll have to get some kind of lock and simply keep them safely away from you. No big deal. Any measures are worth your safety.

If you push the limits, or have a defiant attitude, he might reach the point of punishment. As for not-unwholesome things, this would usually include taking away privileges, such as walks or sweets, but overall, punishment will mostly come in more impure forms.

How do they deal with rivals, or perceived rivals? Will they get rid of them? Will they kill them themselves, or find another way?

Not too much to say here - he has connections. He doesn't need to dirty his own hands. For all his supposed humility, if he truly dislikes someone, they're no more significant than an insect to him. He has no reservations about ridding the world of people who, in his mind, are obviously trying to deceive you, abuse you, corrupt you.

Thankfully, he is very capable of keeping a neutral face, even when he feels laughter building up. It would probably look strange if he were smiling over the newest body to come into his parlor.

How easy is it to make them mad? What does their anger look like?

It's a slow buildup. He views restraint as a virtue, and looks down upon those who lack control over their own tempers. He's a man who strives to meet his own standards of character, and that very much applies to self control and ability to maintain a controlled demeanor, even when he feels a bit of frustration due to you being intentionally and deliberately defiant.

It's his responsibility to be a good role model for you and make sure you understand how to behave. However, in the end, he's very keen on properness and rules. If you have a tendency towards brattiness and pushing your limits, you may drive him to a boiling point.

However, even when expressing his anger, he's remarkably controlled. It's very mature, really. Nonetheless, he will have you shivering and tearful with his voice alone, booming with that depth that reverberates off the walls, that vibrates against your very core. His true anger is one that can strike fear even in the most courageous individuals - he's terrifying when he wants to be, fierce and intimidating, a sort of power just eminates from him.

Nonetheless, it's quick, he calms down very quickly, wipes the tears from your eyes, and sighs.

"I do hate having to be firm with you... but I can't have you thinking you can just act however you want. You understand that, don't you?"

So they see you as above them, beneath them, or equal to them?

Both? It's difficult to describe. You're an angel to him. You're the finest work of art, the most intricate creation, the kind of person whose body and likeness deserves to be preserved in art and tradition, one of those women who should be renowned for beauty even centuries long after you're gone from the earth. It's almost goddess-like. At the same time, there's a beautiful, tragic duality to your essence, he thinks. A fragility and a dependency that leaves you in need, but an inherent status of perfection that makes you deserve the utmost perfect of care. You need to be coddled, cared for, protected, but you deserve it. Like a deity incarnated into a mere fragile human form, a queen that needs support to retain her grace.

Unlike some, he doesn't view his care and protection as some kind of favor that should be repaid with your gratitude, no, really, he is grateful that he is the one who is even deserving of being your caretaker, your provider, your lover.

Even if he is the one who determined that he deserves that role.

How determined are they for you to love them? How hard will they try to make it happen? Or are they content just having you?

He's convinced that he can show you that he is your protector, your lover, that it's fate itself that has locked you together, not just his own will.

And he is, above all else, patient. One of the most patient you could encounter. You think a year is a long time? It's nothing to him. A century for you? More than a lifetime. For him? Nothing. He can and will wait, as long as it takes, and he will never falter in his continual care. He'll remind you frequently, he'll shower you in affection, but if you don't return it? It's not that bad. He has all the time in the world to fix you.

But in all seriousness, he is definitely of the gift-giving love language. He sees beautiful things, and beautiful things make him think of you! It's sweet, he thinks. So many little things he sees throughout his day make him think of you, and he has to have all of them, see your face when he gives them to you. He likes making you happy, for one, but he'd be lying if he said there wasn't a sort of satisfactory pride he gets from the power dynamic of it all. He wants to be the sole source of provision in your life, he wants your dependency.

If we're talking prior to the events of the game, it will be even more extreme. He treats it like it's truly nothing, throwing around massive purchases, seemingly as if he's not thinking about it at all. But he is - rest assured, he's taking it into consideration, at least, that is, how it will affect your attitude and perception of him.

General perverseness: how sexual of a person are they? What’s their drive like? How touchy do they get? Do they have any reservations about sexuality?

On the reserved side. He'd never conduct himself improperly in public, of course. It's out of the question. He cares about proper behavior and public image, and he'd never behave in a vulgar manner.

Even in private, he's certainly one of the ones that struggles with a certain guilt. To some degree, he would feel like you're so innocent and pure that he doesn't want to corrupt you. He goes through stages. First, he'll lie to himself, telling himself that the feelings he has for you are simply protective, platonic, a natural sense of responsibility for you. That becomes more and more difficult to convince himself of, the more excited he becomes around you, the more he finds his eyes drawn to whatever bits of skin are exposed on your body, finding himself drifting off to impure thoughts, trying to push them away.

Second, once he's forced to acknowledge the true nature of these feelings, he'll simply practice restraint, something he's rather good at in this area. He tries, he really does. He tells himself he can't do something so impure, that it would violate you, that he should be ashamed of himself for it. It becomes more and more and more difficult to restrain himself with time, the feelings rising and the thoughts become more difficult to push away, eventually entertaining the fantasies in his head in an attempt to rid himself of the urge in real life. It doesn't work, no, it only makes the urges worse, and he can't be around you without his body nearly commanding him to do something. And finally, he'll take a different stance entirely, telling himself that, no, it's not going to corrupt you, rather, it's taking care of you. If he really wants to love you, really wants to care for all of your needs, then surely that would include your physical needs, and therefore, really, it would be wrong of him not to help you.

As that shift in viewpoints goes on, he'll become more and more bold, hands lingering just a little longer, face coming just a little closer. It's a slow build of tension, just waiting to boil over.

How forceful are they? Do they care about your willingness?

He understands you're nervous. Again, no matter how experienced you are, somehow in his head he makes it out to be insignificant. Even if you've had other relationships, he convinces himself - and tries to convince you - that they were inadequate, they didn't care about you, not like he does. And he'll treat it as that -- any resistance you put up is nervousness, nothing more, nothing less. He'll reassure you a million times that you won't feel pain, that he'll be gentle, that you'll feel good, even if his size and strength frankly is rather intimidating regardless of experience. He'll keep cooing in your ear, softly whispering reassurance, softly running hands over your skin, holding you in place as the last inch stretches you apart.

Again, no matter how smart, experienced, and capable you may be, you're none of those things to him. You're a fragile, little thing. He has to take care of you at all times. As much as he likes the idea, to him, you're already like a child, naive and fragile. Could your body even handle a pregnancy, a birth? He'd likely try to avoid it, but in the end, if it happened by accident anyway, rest assured you'd be getting the best care of any woman to ever be pregnant in Teyvat, and he'd do everything in his power to ensure you were always comfortable, taking his caretaking to another level, almost never even letting you get up, insisting you stay still and calm and needy.

What kind of (nsfw) punishments would they use?

He'd be one to pull the "it doesn't hurt you as much as it does me" line, but really, even if he refuses to admit it to his own self, having you bent over his lap is just as much for his own enjoyment as it is a disciplinary measure. It's more humiliating than it is painful -- he'd hold back, afraid of hurting you with his strength, but taking in every little flinch and whimper you make as he brings his hand down on your ass, keeping your head pressed down, kneading at the flesh. He'd insist it's the most effective punishment measure, but you can feel the hard-on digging into your stomach. The worse the behavior, the worse the beating, but every time, after it's over, he'll hold you upright, wiping the tears from your eyes and asking you if you learned you lesson, if you intend to do it again, and smiling when you insist you won't.

There are so many ways to mark his property, to stake a visible claim all over you, it's irresistible.

He also will go out of his way, when picking out all the things he wants you to wear, to find colors that best go with your skin tone, in a contrasting sense - particularly lacey, sheer things that contrast very well, so he can see your soft flesh perfectly defined against the little lace patterns.

The thing about Adrien's forgiveness is that it's not just an aspect of his kindness but also a result of the emotional trauma inflicted on him by Gabriel.

Adrien is so afraid of losing people and so used to having his boundaries trampled that he doesn't know what they are anymore. Boundaries are for other people

(That's why I side eye arguments that say Adrien is okay with something because he let it happen. Adrien doesn't even know what his boundaries are. And tolerates things that really aren't okay on a daily basis. Not the most solid of evidence.)

So, yes. I want Chat Noir to be angry at Ladybug. I want the validity of said anger acknowledged not just by the characters but by the narrative. And I don't want the Ladynoir fallout resolved due to magical nonsense.

Because it will show Adrien that he is allowed to feel angry and upset at people he cares about without worrying about losing them. And that he's allowed to have his own boundaries respected.

... Just thinking about this now but allowing himself to be angry at Ladybug before the reconciliation could be used as a narrative stepping stone for the inevitable confrontation with his father. Where Adrien recognizes that he needs to cut some people out of his life for his own well-being. Even if they're a blood relative.

I don't know about anyone else but that's what I mean when I say: I want Chat Noir to be angry at Ladybug.

Adrien is Not "the Male Character"

Which is to say: Adrien is not the Generic Male Protagonist.

Protagonists have been used as embodiments of their respective genders for... a long time. The Generic Male Protagonist supposedly representing all men the same way the Generic Female Love Interest supposedly represented all women. This is both by design and baseless in reality.

Yet, these representations persist in our collective understanding of media. A male character represents all males; a woman all women. Despite the fact that not everyone shares the same experience. Especially not with such broad generalizations. My experience of being male is not the same as that of someone else.

Adrien is not merely "a male character" that can be seen as symbolic of all Men. He is not this projection of masculinity, toxic or otherwise, that the fandom puts on him. Adrien's character and personality show the opposite even; a boy with "traditionally feminine" qualities.

Adrien is a part of a very specific subset of men: male victims.

From that lens then, I suppose it should be less surprising that the fandom treats him the same way our society treats male victims. Victim blaming him for the abuse he suffers, placing the onus on him to "grow a backbone" essentially just another way of saying "man up". His harrassment by female characters ignored because he is male and they are not. And, in a disturbing echo of false feminist rhetoric, his harassers are idolized for being "strong women" standing up to "men".

Reducing any character down to one singular aspect of themselves is something we must grow out of. Adrien in particular is not just "the male character" because being a boy is not his most defining characteristic. No matter how hard the fandom tries to make it so. Such a view is reductive, inaccurate and, potentially, dangerous to one's worldview.

Okay, so Dearest Family gives a lot of backing to the idea that the inequality between Plagg and Tikki, and by extension their holders, is an artificial situation established by the Order of the Guardians.

As Yin and Yang they keep each other balanced. But because of the notion humans have that Destruction is inherently more dangerous than Creation (something the episode shows is not true at all) they give Tikki more freedom while restricting Plagg's. (Which we can infer from Su Han's reaction to hearing Plagg is free)

Inevitably making things worse.

Canon has implied that Plagg's aloofness is a defence mechanism stemming from the way the Guardians, and possibly his past holders, treated him. Like a monster that needed a tight leash.

Tikki isn't free from this either. As she suppresses her desires and less ideal qualities in order to appear more in control. Therefore not needing her leash to be quite as tight as Plagg's.

The Guardians doing the equivalent of shooting themselves in the foot. While the kwamis are arguably more controllable, Tikki is a volcano waiting to explode. And Plagg is as unhelpful as he can get away with. Even encouraging his holder to sit out fights in the early days.

This is especially evident by the way Canon shows us a better way of keeping the kwamis unlimited power under control.

Plagg is the only one shown using his power without some disaster following. And it wasn't when he was helping Ladybug. It was when he was rescuing Adrien.

Adrien has slowly and invariably snuck his way past Plagg's defenses. He is, ironically, the only one Plagg listens too.

In the same vein, it's only after Marinette reassures Tikki that she won't abandon her due to her flaws that Tikki starts getting a handle on her hunger.

Because if kwamis can affect their holders like Tikki did then it stands to reason that the opposite is true as well. The Miraculous are a joint venture between kwami and holder whose powers are limited by the imagination of the wielder. Why wouldn't strengthening that bond help the kwamis use their own power safely?

The Guardians' treatment of Plagg and Tikki also extends to their holders. If not by doctrine then by practice.

For all his talk about not following the old traditions Master Fu certainly echoed Su Han's thoughts on the Black Cat in his actions.

The summary for Ephemeral implying that Chat Noir's identity needs to be known, not for practical considerations such as coordination, but so he can be controlled, i.e. manipulated. A lack of trust and paranoia Fu also showed during his time as Guardian.

In order to move forward the Black Cat has to be acknowledged as the Ladybug's equal. Not only in word and thought but also in action.

Something no character has yet done.

Why Adrien Agreste is a Great Hero

This has been done many times before but now it's my turn... Again.

Chat Noir always prioritizes the civilians' safety. In Origins Chat Noir saves Alya twice despite losing his baton in the process. In Anansi he makes sure everyone is off the ferris wheel before going after the supervillain. Every time he protects Marinette when she's an akuma's target.

Adrien acts like a hero even without his powers. After being hit by Reflekta he rallies the students to protect Ladybug. During Oblivio he distracts the supervillain long enough for Ladybug to evade their attack. He tackles Marinette to safety in Riposte and Heroes Day.

He respects Ladybug's privacy. Chat Noir has had many opportunities to learn Ladybug's secret identity. Particularly in Lady Wifi and Kwami Hunter. Both times he has respected the boundaries she placed.

Adrien's empathy. Adrien is empathetic to everyone. Being simultaneously his greatest strength and greatest weakness. He will see you as a person first and foremost, not as your flaws.

Screw the Rules I'm Doing What's Right! Related to number four Adrien is far more likely to bend the rules for someone else than he is for himself. He embodies doing the most good for the most people. Putting it another way: Adrien is Neutral Good.

Chat Noir doesn't follow blindly. Despite the at times excessive trust he places in Ladybug, she earned that trust. The Guardians did not. And Chat Noir won't hesitate to question authority. In Syren he questioned the then Guardian Fu's rules of secrecy which had and still do drive a wedge between Ladybug and his teamwork. In Furious Fu he didn't hesitate to denounce the Grand Master.

Chat Noir is good at compartmentalizing. Even when upset Chat Noir quickly puts it behind him in order to defeat the akuma victim. As shown in Glaciator and Frozer. Also in Simon Says and the Collector. And on less emotionally stringent occasions like Gamer 2.0.

Teamwork. Or perhaps faith in Ladybug. Chat Noir trusts her completely. He has never so much as insinuated that she could not beat an opponent.

Emotional Support. Related to number eight Chat Noir has constantly been Ladybug's rock when the seas grow too turbulent. Providing a moment of respite before turning her back to their duty. In the rare instance where he speaks to the temporary heroes Chat Noir also provided support for Rena Rouge when she needed it.

Chat Noir takes his duty seriously. When observing his carefree attitude one could be forgiven for mistaking Chat Noir's attempts to lighten the mood/keep his spirits up for a lack of care. (Not by me though. I won't forgive you... Adrien might.) Chat Noir doesn't diminish the importance of defeating Hawkmoth or of helping the akuma victims. When Ladybug is compromised he takes steps to ensure victory. Such as taking the lead with Miracle Queen and preventing her from revealing her identity in Truth. Even going so far as renouncing his ring when he felt he was no longer worthy of it.

This has been a non-exhaustive list of why Adrien Agreste is, was and will continue to be a great hero.

I haven't seen enough people praising Adrien for how he acted with Juleka and Rose this episode and that needs to be corrected.

Adrien asked Marinette to hang back so he could talk one on one with her and knelt down to be at her level. He asked what she needed, if she wanted someone to talk to he would listen. And he did. Adrien waited to hear what she said before doing anything.

Then with Rose he was the only character that wasn't shown in the class's overreaction montage. Besides greeting Rose at the steps he doesn't have any lines until later.

I love Adrien showing how empathetic he is with everyone.

I personally don't hate daiji or any chara really on Revice really but man For me i wish we spend more time with daiji/kagero before get that episode 26 fight because sad to say the fight feel flat to me unfortunately, it feel very rushed especially Daiji is become background chara too much after he become KR live... we rarely have episode that focused on him after he become KR live....

So my conclusion is, i wish i know kagerou or Daiji more before this fight

My friend Nacho almost A L W A Y S has the exact opposite opinion or reaction or experience than I do when it comes to media (books, movies, tv) --- like they are 100x harsher.

surprise me is the character psychology. And this is because.... idk I feel like I know Daiji, Ikki, George, Julio and Olteca like the back of my fking HAND bro. Better than, probably.

[Then again I'm insane and have spent my time going through episodes bit by bit analyzing idk. Whatever my mind could *PING* on the analysis-writer-intentionality detector. ]

Right, right. So for me, although the pacing is speedy and they're always throwing punches left and right...when you go back and rewatch knowing what you now know......watch or look for the little things.

Daiji's reactions. Things they say or do blah blah blah. And you'll find how the devil is rlly in the fking DETAILS here.

I get it. A lot of you feel like you came to watch a long distance marathon, but instead is an 800 meter sprint. Like if the runners also showed up ready for long-distance thennn it's gonna be wonky as hell. But the Revice pacing is fine because its perfect for the story (imo). The runners sprints are all sprinters.

Y'all just walked in with the wrong field guide. (LOL)

Everything. And I mean E V E R Y T H I N G is there when you're really paying attention. Vice attacking like a child and confusing everyone for a good amount of episodes?

That's because we didn't have the context that Vice represented Ikki's stolen Childhood. So OF COURSE he acts like a child. He is one. (And that makes the sh#t he says FUNNIER. Because Ikki is literally duking it out with his 4 -8 yr old self lmaOOO)

Likewise Daiji was fking oFF his gOURD from episode 1, and then it just. Got. Worse.

Like major props to the actor or the costume team or both or whatever but pre-episode 5/6 --- Daiji looks soooooo fking iNNOCENT.

And now he's been banned from like eight circuses for smashing all their funhouse mirrors

Now I am ngl to y'all. The reason why it all clicked for me (Ikki's entire character psychology --yada yada)

Is becaause 1) The evidence is fking CAKED in there. It just took me till episode 10 to see it (L O L)

2) My friend Nacho actually lived Ikki's backstory. The only difference being that Nacho is more self-reflective than Ikki is (lmao). So not a single thing Ikki does surprises them.

And y'know, hilarious, because I lived Daiji's backstory LOL! Like the resemblance is un-fking-canny y'all.

Nacho is legit like:

"Yeah Ikki's grown a lot, and that's good and all. But since I've been in his position I know exactly where he is at mentally rn and he still has a looooooooooooong way to go. ://"

and for me y'know I recognize where Daiji is at but in more of a conceptual sense. Because y'know me and Daiji obv have our branching-off points. My character arc went something like this:

Daiji ---> Olteca (pre-cult) ---> Olteca (cult) --> George. --> Kagerou

The final evolution. :DD.

Yeah so below the cut -- I write more nonsense about Kagerou and Daiji's focus in Revice and why although I see where y'all are coming from, I honestly think what we've been given has been pretty solid. Esp cause I trust the writers to deliver what they need to for the last half of the show. So

For a Kagerou/Daiji focus episode after he became live; I tech don't really mind it. Like yeah once it got to like episode 20 I was like 'ok? OK? KAGEROU?? KAGEROUUUUU???' Cause it was about time for the other shoe to drop.

The thing is, Revice as a narrative -- yes Ikki is the main character, but his siblings are SO. Integral to his identity (and vice-versa) that it feels more to me that when it focuses on Ikki; you learn ton of sh*t about his siblings. Like in Ikki's first major growth (ep 13 <33) Ikki fking TRUSTED both Daiji and Sakura.

Let them handle their own battles. And that's- that's a BIG fking STEP for him.

But at the same time, doesn't this also tell you a lot about Daiji and Sakura? Sakura was going to fight anyways, she didn't care if Ikki popped around. Daiji did.

During that pause where Ikki made his choice of trusting or not trusting --- Daiji is fking FASCINATING. The way he desperately looks back at Ikki -- this is EVERYTHING.

If Ikki stayed, Kagerou prolly would've been back to lighting fires and fratricidal plans. But he /trusted/ Daiji and left.

Likewise, Kagerou pops out that episode when Olteca hurts him. This brings out Kagerou. Again, this tells a LOT about Daiji. The trigger for Kagerou was his p a i n.

I could wax poetic about Revice all day. But I needa reblog episode 27 lmaooooo. Sorry for writing such a long bunch of nonsense for your opinion ask LOL.

I guess all I was trying to say was: I see where you're coming from. But I think it would help to shift the lens a big. Don't focus on what is not happening -- but what it SAYS about the characters when those things aren't happening.

danny phantom season 2, episode 17-20 thoughts! finishing up season two! the finale is the THIRD 2-PARTER OF SEASON 2. that's so many! I wonder how many season 3 will have?

-UERGH WHY DOES VLAD HAVE AN AI WITH MADDIE'S FACE ON IT. SOOO CREEPY. AND MORE 'CREATIONS' waiiiit. vlad is Dr. Frankenstein! (despite his ghost design obviously referencing vampires) HE HAS 'CREATIONS' HE MAKES THEN WONT TAKE REAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR!!! this bitch.

-danny was late and his friends immediately start going off about how hes inconsiderate, and has been treating them like sidekicks??? he just overslept, my god. chill. even if he has, be nicer about talking about it with him?? he really can't help that he sometimes has to chase the ghosts, or has a secret identity to protect...

-'what kind of ghost haunts a miniature golf course' umm. me as a ghost. next question

-imagine going home and theres a tiny child on your bed claiming to be your cousin. with as many cousins I have, I would probably believe her. but the 'ran away from home' BIT....SHES 12?? SHES SO TINY. I hate that they have her belly out in her ghost form, but I like how her colors are asymmetrical. something about her design...maybe the proportions?? are weird to me...anyway danny was good to feed her, but he shouldve taken her to his parents FIRST. or, tbh, probably jazz. -ANYWAY. shes voiced by AnnaSophia Robb, the girl who was in because of winn dixie, played as violet from charlie and the chocolate factory, and was the girl from bridge to terrabithia. (the movie that made me cry hysterically when I was 12 and I never watched it again because it Broke Me!) thats super cool.

-vlad sucks: the episode, basically. what's new!! I love how he's like, I'm Not A Villain. *immediately cuts to him torturing danny to make him transform, to get mid-transformation DNA, to perfect a Clone.* *immediately shows that he doesnt give a shit about his new daughter Dani and just wants a ''more perfect clone'' and will put her in danger to get that. will let her DIE to get that*

-Dani is danny's clone and is a girl? transgenderism....one of them has to be trans. or they both are.

-dani just. leaving at the end. WHAT? SHES 12. DONT JUST. NO!!! SHE WAS PROBABLY JUST BORN, A MONTH AGO AT MOST, RIGHT?? SHE NEEDS...SOMEWHERE TO LIVE. MONEY? FOOD?? A FAMILY?? AN EDUCATION???! WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S LEAVING!!! OKAY BYE I GUESS!!! D: concern!!!

-the next ep opens with skulker chasing a ghost down. ...does skulker count as a ghost hunter in the way valerie and danny do? I mean, sure, he hunts the good guys too, but he. he hunts ghosts...also, we haven't seen his Real Form since his debut episode! tiny...

-the guys in white are back! ngl, I assumed they were a gag for that one episode. you're telling me they might actually be a threat? ok.

-valerie in her lil nasty burger uniform looks so cute!! glad shes not in that mascot uniform this time. I guess she stopped hiding that she's working there now?

-gregor having white hair, dressed in black and white...and green eyes...sam has a Type, I guess.

-danny being unnecessarily hostile about gregor. danny!!! hes been nice so far. he looks a little...tall to be 14, but. danny doesnt know anything about him! (he does Suspect, but...you cant just spy on people and be rude to them from a hunch.) also, gregor kissed her, and when she freaked out, he was like 'oh no!! sorry, we can take it slow! I understand!' which was NICE. I hate jealousy plots still tho.

-altho. umm. tucker, being concerned about danny spying on them??? SAM AND YOU WERE SPYING ON DANNY AND VALERIE A FEW EPISODES AGO!!!!! im not saying its RIGHT, but dont be a hypocrite!!! AND THEN SAM BEING MAD ABOUT IT, TOO.

-DANNY IS A 7 ON THE SCALE OF ECTOPLASMIC POWER!!! out of 10? so I want to know where the other ghosts rank...I mean it's a list from the guys in white, so, it may not even be accurate, like, they havent seen ALL of his powers, have they?

-Lancer being like 'im not cooperating with the FEDS' until they said they could access his tax records. they already did that joke with jack, but like, its still funny. kings of tax evasion.

-tucker's aggressive third-wheeling. but gregor being super into it. gregor/tucker is the real ship here. then gregor kissing danny on both cheeks after hugging him. bi poly king gregor. (he does turn out to be a liar with a phoney accent. unsurprising, BUT THE CONCEPT OF HIM BEING GENUINE AND THEM ALL DATING IS FUN)

-THE...GUYS IN WHITE THINKING GREGOR IS DANNY PHANTOM. LMAOOO. GET HIS ASS. or,, Elliot. lmfao

-sam saying tucker is part of the package because theyre friends was super sweet <3 but also 'part of the package'...polyships are obviously the solution to these dumb jealousy/love triangle plots.

-THE SICK TATTOO GHOST IS NAMED LYDIA!!! more Lore On her. freakshow seemed genuinely concerned about her. also, is she mute? I don't think she talked the first time we saw her, either. and we didn't know freakshow 'envied' ghosts, either, the first time, we just knew he was controlling them. interesting!

-...they literally stole the infinity gauntlet from marvel and called it the reality gauntlet. is that legal. what the fuck. even with the gems in the lil slots, having different powers...they had freakshow in jail, but didnt check his pockets??! hes just still in his lil outfit??? what kind of ...oh, its in amity park. yeah, all of the adults are idiots, okay, sure.

-'freakshow!' 'in the anemic flesh!' dude take some iron pills then. also, sure, the red eyes could be contacts for his aesthetic, but the whites of his eyes are yellow! does he have jaundice?! he severely needs more...like, every kind of vitamin. (this is what im worried about as freakshow attacks danny with giant robots)

-again, goth circus is a sick theme, and I love his goth train.

-oh FUCK every single person saw danny transform. on a stage. including his parents via TV. oh god. the guys in white and immediately like 'youre coming in for experiments!' SCARY. at least the crowd is willing to help him to escape...perks of now being a local celeb! even the kids at school are accepting :) this is what, the third time his family has found out? its always been an alt timeline tho. and danny fully intending to just rewrite things again instead of...I dunno, trying to roll with it this time? hes really worried his family won't accept him, huh...

-'maybe our son IS THE GHOST BOY, but its not as if our family's ghostly activities have EVER PUT YOUR FAMILIES IN DANGER' maddie. mmmmmmmmmmmm. okay.

-side note (another one about voice actors...) freakshow's voice actor, Jon Cryer, was lex luthor in pretty much every DC tv show, which is why I recognized his voice, because my dad loves those shows so I've seen a good bit of them without seeking them out...)

-the old man saying 'hey, i still had minutes left!' and danny saying 'you gotta watch those roaming charges!' about danny destroying the people in the diner's phones so no one could report seeing him...would kids today understand these things. can you even BUY minutes anymore...I remember my first phone being a flip phone, and the fact I always had minutes when my sister ran out super fast, because I didnt have friends calling or texting me like she did...:/

-the fentons being genuinely like 'why didnt danny trust us and tell us this, we love him :(' and JAZZ LAYING INTO THEM WITH THE 'DISSECTION/MOLECULE BY MOLECULE' LINES. LITERALLLLY. they need to apologize

-technically, lydias stronger than you! -jazz lesbianism moments! when did you even learn her name!!! but also get freakshows ass. lydia is also cooler looking. looove her design sm still.

-jazz psychoanalyzing freakshow... (also, her also having ghost envy? au where jazz is a ghost!! id like to see it)

-im glad the kids still got to go to their respective vacation things, even if they cant really stick around and enjoy them much...

-furry: confirmed. (also tucker calling her hot. tucker is a furry confirmed)

-danny being mad someone at the comic con is selling comics of him without permission, lmfao. give him his royalties!

-freakshow > thanos because hes a drama clown and does use his gauntlet to be FLASHY AND DRAMATIC.

-jazz's 'USE PYSCOLOGY' to danny about freakshow LMAOO. AND THEN IT WORKING. but, oh, freakshow's ghost form sucks. I like him as a clown better tbh. good thing danny took away his ghost powers!

-his parents hugging him and saying theyre proud :"( and saying 'of course you lied to us, we never gave you a reason not to!' and saying they were in the wrong basically for always talking about hurting ghosts aaaa :""(

-then he WIPED THEIR MEMORIES AGAIN!!! FUCK. I can understand him wiping the goverments/student bodies' memories, but why his parents?? they were being accepting!! ARGHHH. season 3 couldve been them all trying to adjust to them knowing!

-I know, on a meta level the showrunners probably wanted to just reset things to the status quo of him having a secret identity. But. We've been doing that for (2) seasons, I'd love if season 3 could be like, his parents adjusting to this and trying way harder to learn more and accept it (and the shenanigans that could come from that) and for fun, if he didn't wipe the students memories, it could be him being popular for a while, then everyone slowly realizing, oh, he's still Danny. Like. he might have ghost powers but hes Just The Same Guy instead of putting him on a pedestal (and seeing them all try and help him hide it from the giw/people who don't know!!)

-fuck they didn't even explain WHY he wiped everyone except sam, tucker and jazz's memories. he just Did It right when his parents were saying they loved/accepted him!! and sam and tucker didnt question it at all!!! HELLO??? very annoyed about this turn of events.

-anyway. onto season 3! I know its shorter than the first two seasons, and is the last season... I might just do it in 2 bursts if I can... :3c depends on the episodes' content and how much I want to say about each!

I'm posting this as a anon because I don't know what the reaction will be, but I have seen quite a lot of negativity towards hetrosexuality (in movies and tv), men and straight men for being so. I am a straight man, I have nothing for respect for people in the LGTB+ community, I speak up for them, and of course I have no idea what some go through for being part of that community. But I get the feeling some would look down on me for being straight. You seem chill so I'm asking you. Thoughts? :)

yeah, i mean, i admit, i catch myself “looking down” on straight people even though i know it’s wrong to generalize a group of people. i know i have made jokes like “oh, the straights” and roll my eyes, and it just comes from a place of total....exhaustion, honestly. it comes from a place of just total frustration at the way everything gets represented in the media, and the way LGBT rep is such a struggle to come by. and when i say LGBT rep, i mean GOOD/QUALITY rep, which trust me -- is rare. it’s only now really just scratching the surface, and we still have a long way to go. i mean, why can’t i turn on hallmark and watch a stupid lame movie where the hot overworked CEO boss lady runs into her old flame when she returns to her small quiet hometown and that old ex is a gorgeous sexy farmhand chick with a bunch of horses? lmao.....just for a visual. why do all my movies have to be a source of angst/contain a horrible plot twist or be seen as “pushing the envelope” instead of just....fluff? why can’t i, or someone like me, be seen as getting a happy ending? it’s really depressing when you can count on one hand the amount of *GOOD* films that end on a high note, without making you want to wish you were someone or something else.

i’m rambling.....

sticking with the media/movies/tv, people also are quick to assume that because we’re LGBT, we automatically reject canon hetero representation on TV simply for BEING heteronormative. while i admit, that DOES happen sometimes for some people, it isn’t the overall norm. i’m going to use supergirl as an example of why there might be more hate going around lately as you alluded to. most of us are totally cool with well developed relationships, regardless of sexuality. would it be cooler if it was LGBT? sure, of course, because we could relate better, but if the characters are well written and deep, then i’m so down. i have a lot of ships that are straight, and have no problem watching ENDLESS hours of fluffy rom coms and supporting the guy getting the girl, or the girl choosing love over work....etc. but i have a problem with toxic relationships, and i have a problem with poorly written characters, and i have a problem with gender stereotypes that put a male character in a position of hunting/never taking no for an answer. i have a problem with representing females as submissive, or being coerced into relationships because she wants to make the male “better”. i have a problem with 1950′s ways of thinking. it’s boring, and insulting, and frankly, we’re ALL better than that.... i hope. but that has become hollywood’s heteronormative, and it sneaks into reality STILL to this day, and that’s where i get totally flabbergasted and find myself retreating to my safe LGBT bubble. it’s why i hold on to my LGBT characters with such a protective grip, and it’s why i cling to subtext and fanon ships, and it’s why i praise an actress like katie mcgrath for validating my feelings and telling me i’m normal and that she can see it too. it’s why all of that is SO beyond important that i can’t even say enough about it.

now, while i TOTALLY appreciate all straight allies, i think at the end of the day, it comes down to respect. respecting that you don’t understand, and never totally will, our feelings/frustrations/struggle, but recognizing that and owning it (exactly the way you did with your above statement) is key. sometimes straight allies give off the vibe that because they speak up for us, or support us, that they deserve a medal and it’s like -- thank you, for doing the bare minimum, but this isn’t about you? -- totally not saying you’re like that, but i know i personally get very frustrated when people try to turn pride parades and things like that into their own personal charity cases. it’s actually part of the reason i sort of dislike pride events in a way -- it’s gotten to be less of an event to celebrate a community, and more about other people preaching about how accepting they are.

i think there are ways to quietly support that happen every day and THAT is what makes the difference. like when i call my straight best friend and want to gush about my girlfriend, and she doesn’t even think twice about how it’s “different” and instead can share a story about her boyfriend and we find the similarities. or when i hang out with my best guy friend (who is straight) and we talk about what we want in the future in terms of families, and the gender of our partners have nothing to do with our hopes and dreams. or, when i DO feel alone or misunderstood, and i want to talk to someone who is LGBT, my straight friends can recognize that they love and support me, but aren’t the ones that i need for this particular issue i’m having. that’s what i find to be a true ally.

i hope all this nonsense makes sense. i definitely don’t hate straight men because they’re straight (cuz hey, we have a lot in common, tbh...heheheh), but i hate the media’s outdated neanderthal portrayal of most. i’m sure you do too, tbh, because it’s a bad reflection on something you probably don’t even relate to either. i’m tired of the same old stories, with the female love interest being the sidekick to further a man’s hero arc. i want to see the bad ass woman follow her destiny, i want to see feminine strength highlighted the way a man’s brute strength always is. i want female heroes. (see: supergirl, wonder woman). i just want to see the narrative change a bit. i think straight men fit into that, i really do. i just want them to make a little room for us, that’s all.

I mean the "are all nb ppl trans" discourse. I'm nb and I don't consider myself trans, tbh. As an amab transmasc nb person, I don't think it fits? or is appropriate? but idk... btw this pan vs bi discourse is getting wild lmao pansexuals can seethe w/ Freud lmao

I think it’s complicated when we consider the broad range of nonbinary identities and their material realities. There are some nonbinary people whose realities more closely resemble those of cis people and there are some nonbinary people whose realities more closely resemble those of trans people.

Which is actually… the point of nonbinary identities. It’s important and vital to understand that nonbinary identities can take on many forms and some of them are… not far removed from cis. I’m saying this as a person who falls under that category.

I’m afab and feel “woman-aligned.” I go by she/her pronouns and don’t get overwhelmingly upset when referred to as a woman. I’m more impacted by misogyny than transphobia. My gender presentation is fairly genderless, I’m not feminine, but I don’t actually push any boundaries or transgress anything.

I’m not and likely never will be the target of most forms of transphobia.

And I don’t really identify as trans besides recognizing I fall under the umbrella of trans which means “does not identify with their agab.” I can recognize that while nbphobia stems from transphobia and is a facet of it and that people will not understand my gender identity because of transphobia and I can also recognize that… most transphobia is distinctly about people identifying as the “opposite” of their agab–ie people (wrongly) seen as “women” identifying as men and vise versa.

There is a gulf of experiences between me and trans people who identify as the binary opposite of their agab. And there… isn’t necessarily a huge gap between me and cis women.

There are cis women who resent the confines, expectations, and “rules” of womanhood as much as I do. There are cis women who hate being seen as women because of what it means as much as I do. There are cis women who actually push the boundaries of gender more than I do in terms of presentation and reception (ie butch lesbians are pushing against gender norms more than I feel I am).

So, y’unno, it’s complicated. Because there’s “transgender as does not identify as your agab” which all nonbinary people are and there’s transgender as “across gender” which a lot of nonbinary people aren’t. And that’s okay.

I’m not recommending a cut off of “your material reality must be this trans to enter.” Especially since trans realities vary so widely–the life of a trans person who passes is different from a trans person who does not who’s life is different from a closeted trans person, etc etc.

But I also think it’s unhelpful to pretend like an afab demigirl faces the same level of hardship and scrutiny as a trans man or a trans woman.

Regardless, I think we should stick together because we face the same aggressors, potentially the same issues, and we have the same goals and experiences and activism. We want the same things for the same reasons to the same effect. But we can acknowledge that different nb identities have a different relationship to transphobia, somewhat like how different bisexual folk have different relationships to homophobia– a woman primarily attracted to men has a different relationship to “gayness” than a woman primarily attracted to women. The relationship is there for all bi folk but your mileage may vary.

Likewise, a nb person who primarily identifies with their agab has a different relationship to transness than one who identifies as the “opposite” of their agab.

Both have a relationship to transness but it’s different.

And that’s okay.

So, I guess the simplest way to put is “I think all nonbinary people belong under the trans umbrella but different nonbinary people have different material realities when it comes to transness which is why we should stop conceptualizing nonbinary identities as a monolith.”

Across all trans and nonbinary identities, there are infinite experiences and for most cases little connects us together besides “Not quite a fan of being labeled a gender at birth :/// That’s rude.” Y’unno? Even trans/nb people of the same gender can have wildly different experiences.

But we all just want people to respect what we say our gender is and accept that how we present and exist is our choice that’s only our fucking business.

So, y’unno, if if a nb person says they’re trans, I feel it. If they say they’re not, I get it. But also we should all understand that sometimes… some people are “more trans.” That’s not at all the best way to phrase it but like… it’s the most blunt way to get my point across.

And I don’t think it’s a bad thing to be “less trans.” And I recognize that for people who are bigender or completely agender or not at all aligned fall in a grey area. Which is why I recognize nb identities aren’t a monolith--but for the “nb ppl who align with their agab” I think there’s room to say “Hey, sometimes our relationship to cis AND transness means some trans conversations and spaces aren’t really meant for us” and also “sometimes that means we have it a lot, lot easier.”

But recognizing that nuance is gonna get me labeled an nbphobe lmao. Just like I’m a bisexual biphobe for saying some bisexual people are “gayer” than others.

I guess I’m a bigot towards all of my own identities. Yikes.
