Wanda checks her watch nervously. She had arrived at the office thirty minutes early to mentally prepare for the appointment. She wasn't sure what she was going to discover in that room. All she knew was that the idea made her feel ill. Her mind jumps to all of the people she slept with and she begins to feel like an idiot. Her leg bounces nervously as she thinks about how she will be judged by the doctor. It won't happen in front of her but she's almost certain it will happen.
“Wanda Maximoff?” Her head snaps up at her name being called. “I'm ready to see you now.” Wanda nods and rises as she collects her things. She was going to be fine. Agatha swears by therapy. She was going to be fine. This was the next step to getting better and getting on with her life.
You are standing in the backyard of your former home. “You wanted to show me my own craft space?” You ask with arms crossed over your chest.
“No, we wanted to show you our future craft space,” Jean says and Anna waves her arms around as she presents a stack of boxes where your tools and materials used to be laid out.
“What's this? You know that I need the space when I get an order. I know it’s been a while but it’s not just for me. I’ve been able to help you guys with the money I make from this side job. It’s not some frivolous hobby,” you walk around the room.
“Yes, well, it’s actually been a year – close to a year and I’m pretty sure we were your last customers,” Jean says. “Besides, since we’re going to have all of this time we thought would be occupied by a baby… We want to make it into a craft space.”
You clamp your mouth shut as you look at the boxes. It wasn’t fair for them to throw that in your face but this scenario was eerily similar to the one you’d witnessed with Wanda’s basement and Vision. You couldn’t stoop as low as that man so you sighed and nodded. “Okay, can you give me time to find somewhere to store it all? I don’t have the space right now.”
“Sure,” Jean says, “just please don’t take too long. I have a lot of idea’s and I’m excited. Well. We’re excited.” She pulls her wife close to her and the two share a kiss. You find their behavior to be odd but you don’t think about it too much.
“Okay,” you drag out. “I should get going. I need to do some grocery shopping and make some phone calls to see who will be willing to store my things until I can find a better place.” You walk through the gate to get to your car as they allow you to go. You scroll through your contacts to see who you can trust with your tools and supplies. You pause for a moment when you see Daisy’s contact. You know that you didn’t love her the way she deserved but it still hurt to see her name. You decide to leave that task for when you’re home because you needed to focus.
You walk around the store with this nagging feeling that you should contact Daisy for some reason. You didn’t understand it. In the time since she ended things with you, you haven’t wanted to contact her once. Maybe it was because things with Wanda have crashed and burned alive. You don’t know, but you had to fight it because it wouldn’t be fair for you to try and insert yourself in her life again. As you shop you recignize her friend and you can’t stop yourself from saying hi. Because you mistakenly feel as though that would be rude. “Hey, Jemma!” You greet with as smile.
Her eyes go wide and she almost runs but instead turns around smiles back. “Y/n, it’s been a while. How have you been?”
You take a deep breath as you mentally run through the chaotic months you’d been having. “I’ve been better,” you nod. “Yeah, um, how have you been?”
She makes a face and narrows her eyes at you, “Let’s not waste our time here. I’m not the person you want to know about. Am I?”
You’re surprised by the implication and you shake your head. “No, I’m genuinely curious about you. I wouldn’t ever put you in a position to update me about Daisy. She made it very clear that she wanted me out of her life.”
Jemma’s eyes scan you and she nods. “I’ve been well. Daisy, however, not so much. I’m telling you this because she is going to reach out to you soon. As much as I don’t like you, you do deserve the warning.”
Your eyebrows twitch and you frown slightly, that was not what you expected to hear. “Oh, I hope I can help her with whatever it is. I just… She’s not going to try and get back together right?”
Jemma bursts out laughing and you smile and nod as she makes a big show of her amusement. “I’ve forgotten how funny you are!” She points at you with a grin. “No! She doesn’t want you back!”
“I’m sorry,” you say as you try not to roll your eyes at her reaction. It was unnecessary. “Just, let her know that she can contact me whenever she wants. I’ll see you around, Jemma. Or maybe I won’t.” You walk away and continue to shop for the week. You go home and put your groceries away and don’t think about Daisy the rest of the day.
Wanda sits in her office and goes over her budget proposal for the project she was assigned. The company has been trying to score her former in-law’s as a client for years. She knew Stark Industries was a big corporation when she married into the family. It’s what paid for this house. It’s what allowed her to not work for six months. It’s what has paid for her new land. But for some reason she still feels weird about using her relationship to the Starks to help this company land them as a client. It made her realize why they probably hired her in the first place even with the unexplained unemployment gap after being fired from her previous firm. She runs through the proposal a couple more times and hopes that this doesn’t create a rift with the people she was getting to build a healthier relationship with.
When she feels confident about the proposal she sets it aside and starts to work on the digital blueprint of her dream home. It has gone from sketches to utilizing the program on her computer to draft together a more visual representation of what she wants her house to look like. She has lots of windows and an open floor plan. She knows where she wants a dining room and how she wants the kitchen to look like. The second floor has a den space and an office space and multiple bedrooms. Then she considers adding a third floor but thinks it might be too much.
She starts to shuffle the rooms around and considers moving the office to the ground floor. Then she adds a basement. Then she takes it away. She plays around with the design until her stomach grumbles and she is reminded that she has to eat. She shut down her work and walks downstairs to make herself something to eat. As she sets out ingredients, she fantasizes about you standing in the kitchen helping her. She wonders if you'd wrap your arms around her and kiss her cheek as she chopped vegetables. She thinks about how easily she could melt against your body. She allows herself to think about moments she could have with you without making herself feel guilty about it. She's tired of feeling guilty for wanting a better life for herself.
As she lays on the couch and watches a show that she has been binging lately she mindlessly traces the letters M, I, N, E, on her upper thigh. In her mind, it's a memory of you, but really it's only another fantasy. She doesn't know why she can't just give in. She doesn't know why she pushes you away. She knows she shouldn't have but she also knows that she probably would have hurt you. She takes a deep breath and sighs.
She walks up to her bed as her mind prepares her for waking up early the next morning. The mental checklist of what she has to take care of tomorrow. What she should wear for her meeting with Tony. What she should make herself for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Should she go out? Should she anticipate Tony offering to take her to lunch?
She thinks about the therapy sessions she has scheduled for the next several weeks. She thinks about wanting to hang out with her friends. Then as she closes her eyes, she thinks about you and a small smile lifts up her lips.
You are getting ready to take your lunch break when your phone goes off in your pocket. Your heart leaps into your throat when Daisy’s image covers your screen. You answer and start walking away from the job site. “Hello?” You say into the phone. There is a loud drilling sound and someone starts banging a hammer on a wall. “Hold on, I can’t hear you. One second please.” You cross the street and keep walking until you find a quiet area. You sit down on a park bench. “Okay, I can hear you now. Um, hey,” you say as you remove your hardhat. “This is a surprise. How are you?”
“Is it a surprise? Jemma told me that she warned you I might contact you,” Daisy says.
“Uh, she did say that but I wasn’t sure when to expect your call. So it is still a surprise,” you reply as you run your fingers through your hair. “She also warned me that you’re not doing too well. Is there something I can do for you?” Daisy goes quiet and you think that the call has dropped, you move the phone from your face to check but the sunlight makes it difficult to tell. “Hello?”
“I’m here,” she sighs and you can tell that she is trying to hide that she is crying. You take a deep breath as you brace yourself for what she might tell you. Maybe Phil is terminally ill. Maybe her mom passed. Maybe this, maybe that.
“I’m here for you,” you tell her. “No matter what, it’s okay. You can tell me.”
“I,” her voice cracks and you wish that you could do something more than sit here on the phone with her. “What I need to talk to you about is better done in person,” she finally says through her sniffles.
“Okay, um where do you want to meet?” You ask. “I don’t have Rachel this week so you could come over to my place because it's a lot more private than yours or if you don’t want privacy I can go to your place after work. Um or we can meet somewhere public. I’m willing to do whatever you need.” You softly offer her options. Your heart is pounding from the anticipation. What could be so bad that she had to see you in person?
“I’m okay with coming over to your place,” she replies.
“Okay,” you state, “does seven-thirty work for you? I’ve been working twelve to thirteen hour shifts to pay those pesky hospital bills.”
“Seven-thirty works,” she answers. “I’ll see you then.”
“I’ll see you then,” you say as the call ends. You sit on that park bench a little bit longer as you fear what Daisy has to say. What could she possibly be holding on to? What has her in tears? What can’t she say over the phone? Your mind races as you eat your lunch. It continues to run as you get back to work and think about what Daisy needs help with.
Wanda laughs with Tony as they sit together in a nice restaurant. Her pitch went well and Tony said that he would consider hiring her for the project. Then he offered to take her to lunch to celebrate. Now the two were discussing highlights of Vision’s finest moments during past holidays. “Oh, remember that time he convinced your dad to let him cut the turkey and he nearly cut his finger off?” Wanda says.
“How could I forget? I’m the one who pointed out that there couldn’t be that much blood on a turkey!” Tony laughs as he lifts his glass from the table and swirls it around. He shakes his head. “I have no clue how I’m related to that man.”
“I don’t know either,” Wanda says. “You are way more fun to be around,” she compliments and they clink their glasses together as they cheers to that.
“You know, Wanda,” Tony starts as he leans in closer. “Why are you wasting your talents working for a company like Nexus Developments? You are family,” he puts his hand on top of Wanda’s. “We could have helped you land a job with the company we usually use or hell, we could have made a branch for you.”
Wanda taps Tony’s hand as she pulls away and slumps back into her seat. “I know that you would have. But I couldn’t ask that of you or your family. Vision would have made it about him some how and lately,” she shakes her head as she feels tears building up. She takes a deep breath. “Lately, whenever your brother doesn’t get his way, my kids pay a price. Hell, even when he does get his way, my kids still suffer.”
Tony nods and takes a drink from his glass, he sighs as the aged scotch goes down smoothly. “I understand your position. Just know that if you ever need help, we are still here for you. Vision can go fuck himself,” he tells her. Wanda laughs a softly as she agrees with his statement. “Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to convince you into a Maximoff and Stark partnership once again. This one being a profitable business instead of an emotional headache.”
Wanda shrugs, “We’ll see. The future is quite unpredictable after all.”
As you walk through the your apartment building you run through the possibilities of the impending conversation over and over in your mind. The scenarios don’t stop until you see Daisy pacing in front of your door. You check the time on your watch and fill with relief that you’re not late, she’s early.
“Hey,” you say as you sort through your keys to find the one that will unlock the door. Daisy startles as you announce your presence. “Sorry, I didn't mean to,” you notice that she doesn't look too good and you just move to open the door. “Let's just,” you hold it open for her and she walks right past you. “Would you like anything to drink? Water maybe?”
Daisy shakes her head. “No, I don't know how long you'll want me in here after I tell you what I need to tell you.”
You make a face, unsure what she could possibly say that would have you kicking her out of your home. “I have a feeling this is something we should sit for. Come on,” you sit down on the couch and wipe the sweat from your forehead.
“Are you sure you don’t want to shower first? You’ve been working hard all day and I know you how much you hate sitting in–” Daisy rambles on as she paces the living room and you have to cut her off.
“Daisy, I hate waiting even more,” you tell her. “Come, sit,” you pat the space next to you on the sofa.
Daisy stands still and frowns at you. “No you don’t. You are the most patient person I know.”
You nod your head slowly, “I can be patient, that’s true. But I still hate waiting.” You admit to her. “I’ve been worried about you all day, Daisy. I don’t want to be pushy but I want to be able to help you. I can’t do that if you don’t stop stalling and tell me what’s wrong.”
Daisy sits next to you and drops her face into her hands. You sit there and wait for her to collect her thoughts and say something. Anything that will explain her behavior. You bounce your leg as your body decides to show your impatience. The movement has Daisy moving her hands from her face through her hair. “The night we broke up I,” the area around her eyes are red and her nose is pink. She doesn't face you because she can't say this and have you look at her differently. She doesn't know where you stand on a topic like this because every conversation the two of you had on the matter was purely hypothetical. She wanted to keep this to herself because she didn't want you to change in her eyes. She likes you the way you are. “I found out that I had um, sorry this is difficult for me to say.”
You hold your hand out to her, “Daisy, it's okay. Whatever it is,” you trail as she turns her head away from you. “Are you sick?” You ask softly as her shoulders shake.
She turns her head to stare in front of her as she shakes her head and wipes her tears. “No, I'm not sick. That's not the kind of results I had received,” she reaches for the box of tissues in the coffee table and blows her nose. “I found out that I was pregnant,” she finally says.
You feel your heart stop beating and drop to your stomach. You grow nauseous at the news. “Oh,” you grab onto the arm of the couch as if you're going to faint. “I um,” you blink a couple of times. “Is it someone else's?” The words stumble out before you can process the implication.
“I never cheated on you,” she states sharply and she looks at you this time.
“I'm sorry, I shouldn't have… I mean, can you blame me for asking? You didn't tell me until today. You broke up with me instead of telling me. I can't think of why you would do that unless the baby wasn't mine or —” you stop talking as you look at her and clamp your mouth shut. Daisy avoids your eye contact as you recall her behavior that night. She didn't want to be a mother. She kept telling you that as she tried to leave. “Oh,” you react again. The tension in your body releases and you try to figure out how you can address this conversation respectfully. “You decided not to go through with the um the uh pregnancy? Is that what you're telling me?” You try to keep your tone even and your features neutral, trying to avoid showing any insensitive emotions out of respect.
Daisy closes her eyes as she starts to sob. “I couldn't go through with it. I'm not ready.” She says through her tears. You nod your head because you don't know what to do or how to properly react. “It wasn't an easy decision, you know? I thought about it for a couple of weeks and I thought about telling you but I was so scared that you would be happy and I would have the baby to please you and I just —”
“Daisy,” you call her name until she stops rambling and you enter her personal space, pulling her against your chest to let her know that you are there for her. “Daisy, I get it. It's okay. I’m not ready for another kid. Shh, shh, it's okay. It's your body, I would have never asked—”
“I know you wouldn't have but I would have done it! For you!” She interrupts. “Because I know how much you love kids and you're a great parent. You're so great with Rachel and I know how much she wants siblings and I just couldn't. I couldn't be the one to give you that. But if I told you, I would have gone through with it and I would have been miserable,” she continues to ramble. You pull back and get her to look you in the eye.
“Daisy, you're not listening,” you say calmly. “Breathe with me. Okay?” She nods with you and you count to four with your fingers as you inhale through your nose. Then you put down the four fingers as you hold. You lift them back up as you exhale. And you repeat the process with Daisy until she appears a little more relaxed. “Daisy, recently I've been asked by my ex-wife to have more kids with her and I told her no. I — this is going to sound horrible but — I wasn't ready to be Rachel's parent. I love her, she is my world. But it took me longer than anyone realizes to be comfortable being her parent. I wasn't ready and I know that a lot of parents will tell you that none of them were ready and that's,” you wave your hand to the side. “It's quite clear that they weren't and I don't think it should be that way.” You shake your head. “Daisy, I'm telling you right now that I'm not ready for another child. When you told me about the pregnancy right now I nearly threw up. You made the right decision. I'm not mad at you. I don't hate you for making this decision on your own. It's your choice, I'm just sorry that I didn't make you feel like you could come to me about this. I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you.” Daisy closes her eyes and leans against your chest.
Neither of you talk for a moment. Allowing yourselves to process and accept the truths that each has shared. You think about how that night might’ve gone differently. You wouldn’t have lived with Wanda for almost two weeks. You wouldn’t have gotten as close to Wanda as you have. You would have been having back-and-forth conversations with Daisy. You would have developed a stronger relationship. Maybe. It could have turned sour. She could have grown distant and resented you or herself for the decision. Who knows? That wasn’t what happened. So it doesn’t matter now. But you can’t help but think where you could have been now had things happened differently.
“Did you deal with this alone?” You eventually ask her. Daisy shakes her head against your chest. You’re surprised she is still resting against you because normally she couldn’t stand the smell of your sweat and the other odors that come from manual labor when the two of you were together. “Jemma?” She nods against you. “Can I ask, uh, what… or why did you bring this to me now?” You ask carefully.
You feel Daisy take a deep breath and this is what pulls her away from you. She wipes her face and sits against the back of the couch. She plays with the rings on her fingers and flexes her jaw. “I didn’t get the abortion until a couple of weeks ago,” she admits. “I almost went through with the pregnancy because,” she takes another shaky breath. “Jean was at the same clinic I was at to make the appointment. I spilled my guts to her because Jemma had to leave halfway through since it wasn't the appointment and Jean was there when I had second thoughts. It took me a couple of weeks to even go in because I was in denial for a bit. I didn’t want to believe it was true. Then I saw the sonogram and I,” she shakes her head and looks up to the ceiling. “I had second thoughts.” She shrugs her shoulders and you take one of her hands to offer your support. It’s not an easy decision for most. That's assuming that it's ever an easy decision for anyone. “Jean offered to pay for my doctor bills and prenatal care if I decided to follow through with the pregnancy and gave her and Anna the baby and never told you about any of this.” You drop Daisy’s hand and turn away from her.
You stand up with that nauseous feeling again, not sure what to do about a betrayal of this caliber. You know that Jean has a tendency to do anything and everything to get what she wants when she wants it but… This was too far. “I can’t fucking,” you shake your head. You want to punch a wall or break something but you can’t. You can’t afford the injury. You can’t afford the plaster to fix the wall. You can’t afford to replace the things you have. You can’t afford any of this because you thought you were paying off debts before interest can build on them. You thought you were doing everything right. You thought you could trust Jean. You can’t believe she would go so far as to put Daisy through something like this.
“Please don’t hate me,” Daisy begs, “I was confused and I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I only said yes at first because I thought you would be allowed to be in their life and I thought you would like that and–”
“I’m not upset with you,” you cut her off. “It’s not your fault,” you try to focus on your breathing but you can’t calm down. You can’t focus on anything. You don’t know how someone can be so deranged. You look at Daisy and you feel so guilty for what happened to her. The position she was put in. It makes sense why one day Jean is ready to cut your head off for saying no and then next she’s perfectly fine. What kind of person could be so deceptive? What kind of person… you huff through your nose. “I’m sorry that you had to go through that,” you say to Daisy in the softest tone you could muster up. “You shouldn’t have… She shouldn’t’ve…” you shake your head and close your eyes.
Daisy stands up and takes your white-knuckled fist and massages the tight skin until you release your grip. “I am going to be okay. I probably shouldn’t have told you. I just, I don’t know. At first the offer was that I just give them the baby. I wrongfully assumed that also meant giving you the baby. Then she eventually told me that you would not know that the baby was even yours,” she shakes her head. “I couldn’t put myself in the middle of this. I couldn’t put anyone in the middle of that. I didn't want to be part of why Rachel’s parents grew to hate each other. You guys are such healthy examples for her.” You begin to grow upset again thinking about how Jean deceived Daisy. How she was ready to deceive you. It was one thing to ask you to knowingly not be allowed in your child's life. But to go behind your back and essentially kidnap what almost was your child… you couldn’t believe it.
“When I had the chance to think about it, I didn’t want to give birth. I couldn’t go through with it so without telling her, I went through with the abortion because that’s what I wanted.” Daisy closes her eyes as tears slip out and she continues to rub your hand. Something she learned that can keep you grounded. “The only thing that has been tearing me apart about this whole thing is how much of it was being kept from you. I haven’t been able to sleep because of it. You deserve to know.”
“Thank you for telling me,” you state as you watch her rub your hands. You clench your jaw as your eyebrows knit together. Normally an action like this would calm you down but the information was far too upsetting. “I need to go for a walk or something. I don’t know. I just can’t be here right now.” You pull your hand away.
“I don’t think you should be alone,” Daisy tries to pull you back to her.
“Trust me, right now, that’s what’s best for everyone,” you say as you hold your hand up to stop her from coming any closer to you. Daisy stares at you, wanting to be in your arms again. Wanting to feel that comfort that you brought her. Both in the past and just before she dropped the bomb on you. But you weren't someone that sought after touch when you were going through something. You retreated. You isolated yourself. At least, that's what you did when you were with her. She might never know that there are other sides to you. Especially not after tonight.
“Okay,” she says just above a whisper. “Okay,” she repeats as she walks to the exit. “I'm sorry for everything, again,” she says as she steps into the hallway. “Please, don't do anything stupid.” She disappears, leaving the door open.
You stare at the door as you think of what you want to do. You think about getting into your car but you're afraid that if you do, you'll drive into a tree or worse. You'll drive to Jean’s house. You couldn't do that to Rachel. You check that you have your keys, phone, and wallet in your pockets and then you lock up your apartment on your way out. Stepping out onto the concrete sidewalk outside of your apartment building you look every which way. There are bars and restaurants down each way. You could easily find somewhere to drink but that's not what you want to do. So you start walking.
You walk aimlessly for a long time. You walk until your legs begin to ache and your feet begin to hurt. You find yourself at a dock, there are many boats parked but you find a space without one. You sit at the ledge and look out to the water and breathe. The smell of the salty water is calming. You watch as the water moves causing the reflection of the lights to dance. You allow yourself to grieve because even though you didn't want another child, you contributed to almost bringing another life into the world. It was a weird feeling. You're not upset with Daisy for making her choice, you are grateful to her. But you still feel the loss. You didn't understand the feeling but you let yourself feel it. Because even though you don't understand why you feel the way that you do, you don't have to justify or explain it to anyone. You can just allow yourself to feel whatever you want to.
Then you grieve the relationship you thought you had with Jean. You can't believe she would pull something like this. You don't understand where an idea like that would come from out of her. You don't know how you'll be able to move past this. You feel like she took everything the two of you built together over the years and tore it apart bit by bit. You feel disgusting. You feel used. You take deep breaths as you feel it all. Hoping to release it in a healthy way. It was done, there wasn't much else that you could do about it now except to confront her. You couldn't do that until Sunday.
When you stand up to leave, you slip and fall into the water. You don't try to swim at first. You let the water move you. Trusting that it won't take you away. That it won't pull you under and shorten your time on this planet. You just float in the water. Eventually, the need for air is too great and you swim up until you break the surface with a big gasp.
You pull yourself up onto the dock and start walking home. You are grateful for the bulky phone case when you pull it out of your pocket to find that the phone is perfectly fine. You use the map application in order to navigate your way home. When you arrive at your destination you shower and eat a microwavable meal. You fall into your bed after taking a sleep aid and fall asleep.
The next day, at work, Wanda stops by the job site around lunch time. You walk into Pietro’s office and find the two of them laughing with takeaway meals in front of them. You still feel horrible from the night before. But hearing her laugh heals the wounds inside your heart.
“Y/n!” Wanda grins. “I brought you something too,” she holds up a container. You look at the container and try not to show that you have anything wrong with you by forcing on a smile.
“You didn't have to,” you say as you move to the sink to wash your hands before you join them. “I appreciate this. Is there an occasion I'm not aware of?” You ask as you open the container. The aroma of your favorite food should have made you happier, instead you began to feel nauseous again. It has nothing to do with the food or Wanda's presence and everything to do with the feelings that you're suppressing.
“No, I had lunch with Tony yesterday and it reminded me how much I enjoy having lunch with other people,” she shrugs. “Isolation can become a bit of a downside when it comes to working from home for me sometimes.”
You nod, “Makes sense. Why don't you do the hybrid method? That's what Daisy did with school. She would do online classes and in-person classes,” you suggest before you take a bite. You chew slowly because you do need to eat. No matter how sick you're feeling.
“That's a good idea,” Pietro agrees. “You could finally get better acquainted with the rest of the staff.”
Wanda makes a distasteful face, “I don't know. Getting to know people always leads to getting stuck in the middle of their drama.” She shakes her head. “I think I have enough of my own.”
Pietro shrugs, “You never know. Sometimes it's good to hear about other people's drama. It makes your life sound better. Why do you think I still talk to you? Just because you're my sister?” Wanda’s eyes widen and she punches her brother on his shoulder. “Hey! It's not my fault, you have the most dramatic life out of anyone I know! Y/n,” he nudges you, “back me up here!”
You are snapped out of your head and try to catch up with the conversation. You look between them cluelessly. “I'm sorry, I probably have her beat when it comes to a dramatic life.”
Pietro shakes his head, “What are you talking about? Other than that baby thing, you are relatively drama free. That drama even ended pretty well from what I remember.”
You feel a little light headed as you are reminded by the development of that issue. That there is a new ending to the situation. But you don't tell him. You don't want to tell him. You're not even sure you want to tell Wanda. Not right now at least. You nod, “Yeah, I guess you're right.” You turn to Wanda with a playful shrug. “Sorry, I tried.” Wanda shakes her head and the three of you share a laugh.
“Whatever,” Wanda mutters as she stabs her salad with her fork.
When lunch is over, you walk Wanda out to her car. You're quiet as she talks to you about her current project and updating you on her boys. Then she asks you if you are okay because you seem a little off. You shrug and stop when you reach the car. “Um the other day, Jean and Anna asked me to move my workshop out of their shed,” you scratch behind your ear. Feeling queasy saying her name.
“Your workshop?” Wanda asks as she unlocks her car.
“Yeah, just my tools and some leftover materials that I used on my last order,” you explain as you open the car door for her.
“Last order? What do you mean?” Wanda reaches over and sets her purse on the passenger seat but she doesn't sit in her car just yet.
“I have a little side business. Haven't I told you about it before?” You are surprised with yourself that you haven't mentioned this to her before. You try to think of a time that you might've brought it up before but you come up with nothing. There just hasn't been a reason to. Wanda shakes her head as she does the same. “Ah well, I have a small business. I take custom orders. Anything that someone wants built, I build it.” You pull out your phone and show her your website. “Just something to help with the bills whenever I can't get a lot of hours.” She takes your phone and nods, impressed by the stuff you have built in the past. “Anyway, the reason it's on my mind, they want me to move my stuff out of the shed. I can't really afford a place to be able to store everything and be able to have the space to work on orders.”
“I have a shed that, admittedly, could use some care,” she says as she hands you back your phone. “You could set up shop in there, at no cost, of course.”
“Wanda, I can't take you up on that offer,” you resist.
“Yes, you can,” she insists. “Why couldn't you?”
You look away and lick your lips as you are reminded of the night she rejected you. “I would need a lot of access to it when or really if I get another order. I don't know if it's a good idea for us to spend that much time together.”
Wanda nods as she understands where you're coming from. “Technically we wouldn't be spending any of that time together. You'd be working and I would be inside my house or doing something. Come on, we're friends. Let me help you with this.”
You focus your eyes back to hers and you think about just how much she has been helping you. It doesn't feel like there is a balance in the friendship with how often she helps you compared to how often you help her. “I don't know Wanda,” you say as you bite your bottom lip in thought. You can't think of a good reason to say no so you don't. You shrug and nod at her. “Okay, yeah, I will take you up on that offer. Thank you, Wanda. I really appreciate it. Is it okay if I bring it all by on Sunday?”
Wanda smiles and nods, “Of course, come by then. I'm sure the boys will be happy to see you and Rachel again. They were pretty upset about not having you guys there last week.”
“Yeah, Rachel wasn't happy about it either. She prefers cooking with you a lot more than she does with me,” you say with a soft laugh. Wanda smiles at her shoes as she thinks about how much she prefers cooking with you over anyone else. She looks back up and locks eyes with you. She feels like an idiot for pushing you away but she doesn't feel ready to tell you how she feels about you.
“I'll see you on Sunday,” she says and you nod as you repeat her departing words as you step away from her. You wave as she drives off and you go back to work without thinking about your problems with Jean and instead thinking about Wanda and how pretty she looked today.
Saturday night you can't sleep. You toss and turn even after taking a sleep aid. Your heart pounds as your mind races about seeing Jean the next day. You can't stop running through scenarios of confronting her. Are you going to do it right away? Are you going to choke? Is the sight of her going to make you nauseous? Or worse. Is it going to cause you to actually vomit? Will you be able to see her without getting angry? You're going to have to be there longer than you want to because you have to load your truck with your stuff but are you going to make it through? You don't know. And you're exhausted by the anticipation.
You are lucky to get in a nap before you have to pick up Rachel. You have to drink two cups of coffee before you feel awake enough to drive. On the drive over, you are yet again practicing what you're going to say when you arrive. You yawn as you park and shake your head to get you ready to knock on the door. You stare at the house as you try to remember that she is your friend. She was your favorite person once upon a time. You loved her. But it's all tainted now. She has slowly burned you out and ripped you to shreds.
You step out of your truck and knock on the door. You look at the welcome mat to keep yourself calm as you wait. When there's no response, you ring the doorbell. You take slow breaths as you try to clear your mind. You can't think about what Daisy told you in front of Rachel.
Anna is the one to open the door. Since Daisy hadn't mentioned her, you can tell yourself that she isn't someone that you should be upset with and you can tell yourself that she has no idea. At least until you can figure out when to confront them about this. You walk through the house to get to your stuff in the backyard but when you bring the tools to your truck you go through the gate that leads to the front instead of going through the house. You don't say anything to Anna, you don't even ask why she's the only person you've seen so far. You just focus on your task. Move your tools from the shed to your truck. When you're done, Rachel greets you with a tight hug that you are happy to reciprocate. It's a relief to see her and to hold her.
Jean is on the phone in the kitchen and you don't feel the desire to interrupt her conversation just to confront her. You decide to leave it alone. You take Rachel to the car and help her get inside. “Did you hear the good news?” Rachel asks as you get settled in the driver's seat. You shake your head and ask her what the good news is. “I'm having a baby brother! My mommies said so. I'm going to be a big sister!” Your heart stops as your entire body freezes. How could they tell her something like that? How do they even know what the gender would have been?
“Wait right here, I need to ask your mommies something,” you tell your daughter with a tight voice. You climb out of the truck and walk to the front door. This time, you enter without knocking and walk up to Jean as she ends her phone call. “How dare you,” you start bitterly. Jean is thrown off and her confused smile drops. “How dare you put Daisy in that kind of position. How dare you tell our daughter that she's going to be a big sister before there is a baby. There isn't going to be a baby! There never should have been. You shouldn't have tried to talk Daisy out of her decision. You are a cisgendered female, you should have some respect when it comes to another woman making a decision about her life and her body. Not only that, you are my best friend. Or at least you used to be. I thought you would have enough respect for me to tell me the moment you found out about Daisy's pregnancy. I was mistaken to believe the lies you told me but I will not allow that behavior to affect our daughter. So you better be a thousand percent certain when it comes to something as big as a sibling coming into her life before you tell her anything!” You take a split second to decide whether or not to continue and with how upset you are, you can't stop yourself. “And I was going to let Daisy tell you this herself but I will do what you should have done. She went through with her decision. There won't be a baby. Now I suggest that you either start looking into fostering or adopting — no. You should get your fucking head checked be clearly you are out of your fucking mind, Jean!” Jean slaps you clear across your face. The slap was loud and the impact was hard. It stings and you lift your hand up to your face in shock.
“Get out!” Anna shouts from behind you. You are shaking with anger. You weren't aware that you had gotten so furious with the situation. You try to say more but Anna won't let you. Jean is in tears and looking down at her hand, shocked by her own actions. Anna steps in between you and her wife. “Get the fuck out of my house Y/n! Get out! Get out!” She starts pushing you backwards. You hold your hands up and shake your head.
“You're both unbelievable. I'm going,” you walk out after Anna's last shove. You can't believe the reactions. You can't believe the lack of accountability. You storm across the yard and climb into the truck.
“What's wrong?” Rachel asks in a scared little voice. You feel terrible seeing her shaken up. You sigh and close your eyes before you look at her.
“Nothing sweetheart,” you say as softly as you can. “Nothing, let's just… we're going to go home and I'm going to go for a run and then maybe we'll stop by Wanda’s house to drop all of this stuff off later. How does that sound?” You try to make her feel more at ease.
“Why can't we go to Ms. Wanda’s first? I really want to see Tommy and Billy and tell them about the good news!” She asks innocently and you have to close your eyes to calm down. You open them and start the engine. You need to distance yourself from this house. From Jean and Anna. You're starting to wonder if your ex’s behavior is being instigated by her wife. You aren't sure how you can find out. But it's definitely something to look into with the lengths she's gone through to make this idea of theirs happen.
“Honey, mommies were mistaken. You're not going to be a big sister,” you correct her.
Rachel frowns, “Yes I am. They said so. My mommies don't lie to me, Baba.”
“I know that sweetheart, that's why I said that they were mistaken. That's not the same as lying, it's more like they didn't know what they were telling you wasn't true,” you take a second to glance at her. “Does that make sense to you?” Rachel nods with tears building in her eyes. “Awe baby girl, what's wrong?”
“I really wanted to be a big sister,” she says as she wipes her tears. You feel bad as you continue to drive.
“I know sweetie, I know,” you sigh as you start to reconsider their proposal. But you quickly shove that thought out of your mind. You cannot allow your daughters disappointment to change your mind on a matter of this magnitude. “Do you still want to go to Wanda’s first?”
“Yes please,” she says as she continues to wipe her face. “I want to see my friends.” You want to calm down before you see Wanda. You don't want to pull her into more of your problems. But you feel bad enough for taking away your daughters smile. So you suck it up and drive to Wanda’s house. You text her that you're on the way when you stop at a red light.
When you pull up the driveway, Wanda is waiting outside with a smile. She knocks on the window and talks as you roll it down. “I don't care what you say, I'm helping you move the stuff into the shed.” Her wide smiles drops to an expression of concern when she sees the red mark on your cheek. She looks further into the truck and sees Rachel's face is red from crying. “What happened?” She looks you over and you shake your head.
“Nothing, why do you ask?” You say, oblivious to the evidence on your face while you try to hide your frustration from the day.
Wanda leans in as close as she can get. “Have you looked in the mirror?” She says in a low whisper.
Your eyebrows knit together and you frown before you drop the visor mirror to check yourself out. Then you see the mark and you shut it. You want to curse yourself for not going home first. “I can't talk about it right now. Can we start moving this stuff?” Wanda nods and allows you to get out of the vehicle. You walk to the other side to help Rachel down before you start to take stuff down from your truck. You hand some boxes to Wanda and she leads the way to her shed. She talks the entire way about how she spent her entire Saturday reorganizing the entire space. You hardly listen as your mind replays the last hour. How Jean slapped you and Anna pushed you. How angry you felt — no, feel.
Once the pair of you set the boxes down Wanda asks again what happened and the words come out of you before you can stop them. You tell her everything from running into Jemma to what happened with Jean just moments ago. Wanda is quiet as she stands there and processes. She doesn't look at you as she does. You shift your weight uncomfortably as you wait for a response. When she finally moves you don't expect her to hug you the way that she does. She holds you tightly in a warm embrace that breaks your walls down.
“I'm so sorry,” she whispers against your chest as you break down in tears and she rubs your back. You let her hold you and comfort you in ways that you hardly ever allowed anyone to take care of you. You allow her to witness a side of vulnerability that you rarely let many see.
After a bit of time the both of you stop crying. You and Wanda sneak into the house and each go to a bathroom in order to wash your faces and then get back to work. Together the truck gets emptied of the tools and materials in an impressive amount of time and was put away in the shed. When the both of you finish, Wanda gets a phone call and excuses herself to answer. You follow her inside to wash your hands.
You get a message from Nebula and you feel slightly guilty when you do. You open the message and you clench your jaw as she admits how much she likes you and asks when she can see you next. The two of you went out on a date shortly after Wanda rejected you. It was an okay date but with everything going on, it doesn't feel right. You close your phone and head upstairs to check on the kids. As you do so you pass Wanda's office. Her door is slightly ajar. You don't mean to listen in but when you hear the words, “Thank you for introducing me… yeah he has made me feel things I haven't felt before,” and, “I feel like he understands me better than I understand me.” You feel your heart sink. You continue to walk to check on the kids as you try to tell yourself that you didn't hear the entire conversation so you couldn't possibly know what she was talking about. But a small voice in the back of your head is telling you that she rejected you because she found someone else. A reality that you'll have to accept if you and Wanda are going to continue to be friends.
After you check on the kids you schedule another date with Nebula for the next Sunday after you drop Rachel off. Then you continue on with your night with Wanda and the kids. Doing your best to keep your mind off of everything else.

I went to see a friend yesterday, who I haven't seen since I finished working for her a bloody age ago, and her Mam was like "So... what's new?"
And I'm just like "oh, nothing much. I'm just depressed af and failing at life, but I'm waiting for my girl Jemma Redgrave to realise she was destined to become my wife,"
And my friend is laughing fit to die, her Mam is like "....riiight..." and Mam's new boyfriend is like "Who?!" So there follows a concise (well, sorta haha!) JR film and theatre-ography, and me never being employable in certain circles ever again. Regrets? Non.
#me stuff#I love my girl Tyla#I love my future wife Jemma#as long as we're all clear on the matter I don't see the problem tbh#Tyla's Mam's new bf just doesn't get it like Harold dude the lesbians and the Welsh speakers exist stop being ignorant#anyway#''twas a good day

2021 Masterlist
Here’s a full masterlist of all fics I’ve posted this year.
We’re just gonna place it under the readmore because it is a LOT. They’re just organized by what fics I posted from Jan 1st until now.
Good Luck Charm - Okay so maybe it was odd to keep photos of your old college boyfriend, but memorabilia was memorabilia. Besides, memorabilia turned out to be good luck charms at times. Especially when good-meaning, but obsessive boyfriends were involved.
Sugar and Spice - Peggy is a no-nonsense professor at Brooklyn University. Steve is the University's new art professor and their teaching styles could not be any more opposite. She's a no-nonsense teacher, Steve is laid back. Things were going fine until Steve decided to show his true colors and damn if Peggy couldn't think that this guy was the most adorable thing on this planet.
In a (red) flash - Steve accidentally touches something red while he visits Peggy's grave and finds he gets everything he's always wanted.
Christmas With The Family - It's Steve's first Christmas with Thor's parents and anything that can go wrong does go wrong.
The work you do never stops - Natasha sets a file down in front of Steve and Steve thinks nothing of it. Natasha is known to be secretive but when she sits down and waits for his reaction, he knows it's something more. Much more or where Steve learns that Peggy started underground gay clubs.
Taken care of business - Steve gets stabbed while protecting Peggy at her bar and Peggy learns the truth of their feelings for each other.
A Day To Remember - Peggy Carter is homesick for a life she had lived through, now that she finds herself in the 21st Century with the love of her life. Steve sees this pain and does something about it.
Voice in my ear - When Steve Rogers wakes up in the 21st century, he's reintroduced to sharp-as-ever 90-year-old Peggy Carter. He now lives in her home with a garden outback. She's a voice in his ear as he goes on countless missions, she 'uses' him to spy on debriefings, see how SHIELD is running, and get intel on their new recruits. Everyone knows. No one is stopping them. That being said, Steve is still madly in love with Peggy and doesn't care she's 90. He wants to be with her, but Peggy knows herself, knows her days are limited, and just wants Steve to have a life outside of her. Steve disagrees.
Got That Second Chance - Steve isn't sure how to feel about time travel, especially after the battle with Thanos, he is made aware that time travel has caused him to lose his serum. He still does as he's always planned - to have the life he deserves with Peggy.
An agent teaching a captain - Steve wakes up to a new future, Peggy is assigned as his liaison and that means accompanying her on missions. Today's mission involves a stakeout and the pair pretending to be a couple.
You Never Were - Fitz's father hated everything about him. How his hands shook, how he couldn't keep them still or stop chewing on his thumb. How he stuttered over himself, couldn't get the right words out. How obsessive he was with science this week and flower picking the next. How he had no friends. Most of all, Alistair Fitz considered his son a failure. Fitz did too until he met Agent Maria Hill, until he was taken into SHIELD Academy, and until he met Jemma Simmons who helped him find the answers.
Steve’s Jealous Streak - If there's one thing Steve can't resist, it's his wife in a blonde wig and the knowledge that another man had been touching her. Even if it was for intel.
Here today in memory - In his mind, today marks not just her deathday, but the 72nd anniversary that Peggy Carter had said yes.
Dance With Me Til’ The End - Steve finds a way, even after his death, to give Peggy the life she deserves.
Stars In The Sky - Peggy and Steve share many things in life, including the day they lost their loved ones.
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (okay technically this was December 2020, but I finished it in ‘21, so it counts) - Peggy Carter took a chance. She ran away from a loveless, boring marriage to become a dance instructor in America. After her brother tells her that he can't make it to see her for Christmas, Peggy finds herself meeting her (hot) neighbor and his adorable daughter. Life seems to take it over from there when little Sarah insists that she stays for dinner.
Home & Light - Peggy Carter was home for him and Steve was sure of one thing - he'd follow Peggy to the ends of the earth. Losing her is losing the light in the darkness, his guiding star. Without her, without Peggy Carter, Steve is lost.
Past, Present, and Future - It's Peggy's hundredth birthday and Steve has a special plan to celebrate it.
Selfish Kisses - It's the morning after Steve's surprising return and Peggy knows she promised she'd let Steve sleep in but she couldn't help herself.
Meeting The Brother - Bucky has always known Clint had a brother. He knew the pair weren't the best of friends and weren't exactly close, but he never thought he'd get to meet him like this.
The Bet - Steve makes the unfortunate (or rather fortunate) choice to open a porn link that Clint had sent him. Now he's in a long-term bet with Peggy over who can outlast who and so far she's winning.
Life Is Full Of Surprises - They wanted a funeral. Peggy just wanted to sit in the bar and drink
Day Three: Oral Sex - All Bucky wants to do is thank Sam for being the most perfect husband. And what better way to do that is to allow the man to use his mouth like a fleshlight?
Day Four: ABO - What else is Peggy going to do when she wakes up to find an Omega near heat asleep on her doorstep?
Day Six: Thigh Riding - It's Peggy's birthday and she gets to celebrate it as she pleases.
Day Nine: Fisting - What Sam wants, Sam gets.
Day Two: Wax Play - Clint has to make it up to Bucky about cheating (at Mario Kart).
Day One: Double Penetration - Peggy takes on Steve and Bucky
Day Eleven: Threesomes - Following Erskine's death, Peggy does everything she can to make sure that Steve gets out of his head.
Day Thirteen: Squirting - James Barnes has a problem. He believes he's an Omega, but even at the age of 24, he hasn't been able to produce any slick. His doctor refers him to Doctor Steve Rogers, a new hot Alpha in the hospital. And that's all James can think about while Steve's fingers are in him.
Day Fourteen: Deep Throat/Shirabi - It's Steve's day of the week to do what he wants to Sam and he has it planned perfectly. It starts with ropes and ends with a cock down the throat.
Day Sixteen: Lactation - Steve loves that his mama Peggy leaks and that her cock is bigger than his. Size doesn't matter, but Steve is a total mama's boy despite his large size.
Day Twenty: Titty Fucking - Steve is a new sub of Peggy's and she's fully aware of how much of a brat this boy can be. When he starts to avoid his doctor appointments and thinks that fucking her tits is for /his/ pleasure, rather than hers, Peggy comes up with the perfect punishment.
Day Twenty-Five: Pregnancy Kink - Peggy is long overdue to give birth and Steve is fresh back from a mission. He decided to kill two birds with one stone, satisfying a long-overdue need to fuck his beautiful wife and to help her water break.
Day Thirty-One C: Medical Kink - Clint had a problem. Several problems, actually. For one) he hasn't been to a doctor in Lord knows how long, for two) he was starting his heat thanks to neglecting to take his suppressants, for three) he had a super hard crush on the new Shield doctor. And these all came to a heavy head when Shield's new doctor is forced to make a home visit to a very on edge Clint Barton.
The Beast Inside - She looked like an angel standing before him, dressed in black. The only spot of color on her was the trademark red on her lips. If she took her gloves off, Steve knew underneath there would be red on her fingertips where she’d spend hours perfectly painting her nails. Peggy wants to fix the one person who means the world to her, even if that means digging up the past.
We Waited Long Enough - Wedding Day and Steve is nervous. Also, they wrote their own vows.
Big For Their Age - Chester Micheal Carter-Rogers is perfect in every single way. Even if he's a little too advance for his age.
You Are Protecting Our Everything - They know they have no other choice, leaving their baby girl anywhere else would pose a risk to them, to the team, to her. Leaving her here is the best choice that any of them have at surviving. It's just Jemma never thought she'd get to meet her idol and why in the hell is Steve Rogers here?
Unofficial, Official Birthday - July 4th might not be Steve's real birthday and Peggy is determined to find the truth.
The Universe’s Revenge - Chester Phillips had survived a war. They brought Captain America home and he's reunited with his gal. The guy is just tired of all the damn eye fucking. He can't escape it.
New Chief In Town - There's a new chief in town and Jack Thompson isn't happy.
Just Like Old Times - Chester Phillips is a tired man. He's seen far too much between the war and whatever the hell Red Skull was, but with Schmidt now dead and Captain America home (and some of the politics dealt with so the Howling Commandos and Carter can stay together), he just wants to go home to rest. Even if it's in an empty house and alone. Then Carter had to screw it all up and invite him to dinner at Sarah Rogers' home.
The Future Wasn’t Kind To You, Was It? - Steve is a tired man and all he wants to do is rest. He doesn’t want to fight anymore, but he will if he has to. He just wants to lay the shield down and sleep, to let the ground open up and consume him. He can only think of one place where he can go where he might have a chance at a little bit of peace.
The Brooklyn Daily Eagle Interview - After their wedding, Steve and Peggy are asked to do an interview for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle Newspaper.
Prequel: Bring Her Home - One day this will all make sense, but for now, Steve promises himself as he watches Peggy being taken away by Schmidt from Chester Phillip’s arms, that he will kill Schmidt with his own two hands if he has to.
Steve’s Problem and Peggy’s Two-Part Solution - Steve Rogers had a problem and many men wouldn’t consider a hyperactive sex drive a problem, but when you pair it with the serum, it became a constant problem that made life just a tad bit more difficult. And all Peggy wanted to do was help her darling husband.
Just A Drop of Time More - Steve is fucking exhausted. For the past five years, all he’s done is work, work, work to distract himself from the very fact that he was living in the future and everyone who knew and loved him was dead. Or so he thought because when he comes home one evening, he finds a very alive and young Peggy Carter waiting for him
Be The Change You Wish To See In The World - Steve finally gets to tell Jack exactly what he thinks of him after Jack presses a few buttons.
This Looks Bad - This wasn't supposed to happen. Clint Barton didn't know what choices he made in his life (okay he did) to end up stuck in a teddy bear suit to scare his boyfriend. He did know one thing now: Bucky Barnes, the love of his life, got off on teddy bears.
I’m Coming Home - Chester Phillips knows a few things in life. That being: 1. He loves Sarah Rogers more than anything. 2. Joseph Rogers might've married her to get her to stay in America but he's a no-good son of a bitch and totally wrong for her. 3. Steve Rogers might or might not be his child but it doesn't mean he loves the boy any less. That being said, he's done with these foolish letters and wants his gal in his arms. He wants to go home.
What if: what happened to Peggy wasn’t the end - It’s the first sob that wrecks him, shaking his chest, and making him cough. It’s Bucky who draws him in for a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around his frame as he cried into his shoulder. They’d lost one another - he and Peggy. They lost one another and they found each other, just to lose again. He’s not okay. He’s far from okay and he’d give anything to have her back. The right partner, someone who could do some good in this world. Sure, he had the suit, he could help out the Howling Commandos but it wasn’t the same without Peggy.
One Foot In Front Of The Other - After Steve ends up in physical therapy because of a life-altering decision, he finds he's not alone in the room either. Sure, Natasha is there to help him (and he's sure 90% of it is a guilty complex), but there's also someone Steve has been crushing on hard: Captain Peggy Carter.
Time Apart Has Left Me Hollow - After Peggy's death, Steve finds himself spiraling. Tony tries to make it better with a little gift, but in truth, he's hurting too.
Caught In The Act - All Steve wanted to do was have one nice evening, using Mjolnir when Thor decided to pay his boyfriend a visit.
WaWa, BaBa, and Mr. Scruffles - When Jamie's security blanket is in the wash, Peggy and Steve have to find a new way to distract their daughter.
Tre själar - Steve bears the weight of the world on his shoulders and every day that weight starts to crush him a little bit more. He starts to feel it when Peggy's dementia is reaching a point he knows she won't survive for much longer. Thor, always having been smitten by Lady Carter, seeks to rectify the situation.
Double Trouble - Peggy and Steve have an announcement at the same time that Sarah and Chester do. Chester just reacts differently, is all.
Beach Day - Steve finds himself facing his typical neighborhood bullies at the beach when Peggy decides to step in.
Sugar Lips - Steve is only ten years old when his life is turned upside down. His best friend in the whole world is kidnapped, ripped from his arms. Steve is left disabled after the incident, using a cane to get around on good days. It becomes his lifelong obsession to find out exactly who in the hell took his best friend from him. The answers start to fall into place when a mysterious woman he's seen around campus comes to his apartment, the night before he intends to move to California to follow a weak lead. Peggy Carter doesn't serve him answers on a silver platter, but she allows him to join her in figuring out what happened all those years ago.
Steve’s Birthday Dinner - It's Steve's birthday and Peggy has some plans.
Their First Meeting - This is a story on how Alya Fitz meets Chester Rogers-Carter and how they become best friends and run their parents into the ground. Their parents being no other than Agents of Shield, Director of Shield, and Captain America.
Doing What Needs To Be Done - Being Director of Shield comes with many pros and cons, the most major con is losing precious time with her husband. After missing a promised date night and the realization that she's far more burnt out than she realized, Peggy agrees to let Steve help her.
Running on borrowed time - Steve is the SSR’s newest agent. People have been brushing him off due to his small size, everyone but Agent Carter, of course. The agent has taken him under her wing and seems determined to help him. He’s thankful, of course, but there’s a secret he harbors, one he’s terrified of an Alpha-filled office finding out - that he’s an Omega. He’s only /just/ able to keep it under wraps thanks to borderline illegal suppressants. And Steve suspects that his good luck with both the suppressants and Agent Carter is about to run out.
Red Alert - Sam and Natasha both make a suggestion for Steve to talk to a new therapist that might be more on his level of understanding his situation.
The Transparent Hand of Lives Gone By - Steve finds himself lost in a neighborhood where every house looks the same. Peggy helps him find his way home.
Tony Stark’s Super Secret Costume - Halloween is just a few short days away and Tony is without a costume. He asks his Auntie Ana to assist him in making his costume and can barely wait to debut it.
Hope - “You owe me that dance, you know? I picked out a dress, you would’ve loved it. Just as much as you loved that one back in the bar. You couldn’t take your eyes off of me, I swore a fly had flown straight into your mouth the way it hung open. I should’ve taken my chance then, asked you to dance on that floor if I had known how this would’ve ended. Peggy starts to realize that Hope is just a word for her, there is very little meaning in it.
Banana Pancakes - After finding a young German soldier who'd seem to have been forced into this line of work, Peggy and Steve work to find him a new home and a new name.
The Magic of Halloween - After moving to a new neighborhood, Jemma and Fitz are taken trick or treating and they get to meet Fitz's hero.
Pumpkin King - "I am the Pumpkin King!"
Ravishment - Unknownst to them, Steve finds himself in a rut and Peggy finds herself in heat. They're not even aware of it until Steve shows up at her home office naked and takes her on her desk.
Husband Material - Being pregnant with multiples is bad enough, but add being pregnant with multiples who perhaps possess the super-soldier serum that their daddy has, is a nightmare. It means Peggy is finding a hard time finding clothes she likes, made out of a soft enough material that she likes.
A Peg for Christmas - After a snowball fight, Steve finds out Peggy has an early Christmas Present for him.
Clint Barton Meets Director Carter - Clint Barton is nothing to the world, but a tool. He'd been used by many folks in his life and he's tired of it, tired of losing, and this time, lets himself get caught to get what he wants. A conversation with Director Peggy Carter. (and punched by Natasha Romanoff)
The Best Things In Life Are Unpredictable - After a one-night stand at a costume party in the Brooklyn Museum, Peggy Carter finds her life being flipped upside down in the most unpredicted ways. She doesn’t know the name of the gentleman with who she slept with, she just remembers the taste of alcohol on his lips and the smirk on his lips while he was between her legs. Steve Rogers aka Captain America on the other hand wants nothing more than to find the mysterious woman who he slept with on Halloween Night, but thanks to the Asgardian Mead in his system he remembers nothing about her. Not even a name, just a vision of red behind his eyelids and a warmth in his chest.
Mistletoe - Steve cannot lie to save his life, especially to his girlfriend whose whole career is built on the ability to lie. His mother's yearly Christmas dinner will be a bit different this year and not just because Chester Phillips is officially his stepfather.
A Father’s Love - Steve and Peggy learn that their son is deaf.
Once Upon A Time - “This is a story about Captain Peggy Carter, a fierce pirate of the 7 seas who takes from the rich and gives to the poor, and Prince Steve Rogers, a prince who is hidden from the world and knows nothing of the world around him.” Steve and Peggy are forced to attend Howard’s yearly Christmas party, leaving their 7-year-old twins, James and Michelle, to spend Christmas Eve with Pappy Phillips and Mama Sarah. Club Pining Fool - Clint likes Bucky. Bucky likes Clint. They're both just terrible at telling one another their feelings and let their dicks handle it.
No complaints here: it’s their honeymoon and Bucky has some ideas for his Omega.

4&5 from the newest prompts, FitzHunter
Okay. So. This is long af lol and there’s a lot going on here. So, I’m going to put this under a cut after a few paragraphs. <3 Thank you so much for this prompt, it was incredibly fun!
(Yet Again! More Dialogue Prompts!)
4. If you need me, I’ll be in the bottom of one of those fishbowl fruity drinks with the umbrellas, drowning my sorrows in alcohol-soaked cherries. 5. That’s a bit dramatic, don’t you think?
Leo stood off to the side, staring over the crowd at the receiving line. He wasn’t good at this, at pleasantries, at being nice, especially when just being here ached. He wasn’t jealous, but the life he could have had flashed through him like a bruise.
Ophelia looked absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress, the sparkling fabric fitting to her snug in the best way. Her thick dark hair was swept up in a complicated updo, and he could see her signature green streaks reflected in the wedding’s color scheme. He imagined himself at her side, standing in the middle of their friends, wearing a suit they’d picked out to match the color scheme. He imagined himself across from her at the altar, saying his vows and pledging himself to her and their future together. That could have been him up there.
Except he’d had his accident, and they didn’t fit together anymore.
“Are you going up?” a familiar voice asked from behind him. When he turned, he found Lance Hunter with his patented smirk. They knew each other through a vague connection; Jemma was dating his ex-wife, Bobbi, and they were apparently still very good friends. Through Jemma and Bobbi, they were technically in the same friends circle, but Leo was confused why Hunter was here at Ophelia’s wedding.
“I was considering it,” Leo replied. “What are you doing here?”
“I work with the groom, Hunter replied. “You?”
“I know the bride.”
“Ahh,” Hunter said softly. “You know the bride, right?”
Leo rolled his eyes but didn’t contradict him. Once upon a time, it had been him and Ophelia side by side, and they were fiercely in love. He’d thought that it would be Leo & Ophelia forever, but it was fate that separated them.
“Do you want to go up?” Hunter asked, more gently, touching Leo’s elbow with a surprising amount of care. “Or do you want to get out of here?”
“No, I can go up,” Leo said. He shouldn’t be surprised, though, because while Hunter was a joker and came off as aloof, he’d never hurt or scared Leo. In their years of vague friendship, Leo knew Hunter as the kind of person who would help you move and would scare off ex-boyfriends and would walk the girls home from the bar to make sure they were safe. Hunter, despite the dog tags and the tattoos and the leather jacket, touched the world with gentle fingertips. “Come with me?”
Hunter smiled, clearly pleased, and followed him up to the waning crowd. The closer they got to Ophelia, the clearer the rock in his chest became. He wasn’t jealous, because he and Ophelia just didn’t fit together anymore. His brain injury stole that certainty from him. He’d long since accepted that, and the stone wasn’t sharp like jealousy. It was heavy, and rough, like grief. He thought he had mourned his life with Ophelia, but it was there, fresh and hard.
With the wedding and recently the funeral, Leo might be a little too fragile for this, but he put one foot in front of the other until he was in front of Ophelia.
“Leo,” she cooed, and drew him into her arms. He issued her cheek. “Thank you for coming.”
“As if I’d miss it,” he replied.
“I would’ve understood if you didn’t feel up to it. He was your father,” she said softly.
“He’d want me to be out enjoying this. He adored you, you know.”
“That’s true,” she laughed. She reached up and brushed her thumb along his cheek. Tears had started to escape at the mention of his father. His absence in Leo’s life was a gaping wound, and everything reminded him of him. For two decades, he didn’t even know his father, his true parentage hidden behind his false name. For two decades, he’d been Leopold James Fitz, and it was only in the last five years that he'd learned the truth. He let himself enjoy his father’s presence, his affection, and his warmth. He’d changed his name, with his mum’s blessing to Leo James Radcliffe, his real identity, the name his mum used to whisper to him when he was a baby. And just when he’d gotten used to being openly and unflinchingly loved, he lost that warm light all over again.
“Sorry,” he said. “You look beautiful, Lia. I’m so happy for you.”
“Don’t apologize, Leo. But thank you. Save a dance for me, okay?”
“I will. Of course, I will.”
She kissed his cheek this time and patted the other with her hand. Hunter stepped up to the happy couple, while Leo stepped away. He mainly talked to Ophelia’s husband, and wasn’t that weird to think.
“That wasn’t so bad,” Hunter said lightly as he stepped up to Leo, leaving the receiving line. “You alright?”
“Yeah. My, uh, my da, he died last month, and I didn’t expect a wedding to -” he said and his voice caught a little so he cleared his throat instead of finishing his sentence. Hunter touched his hand with a feather light brush, and it grounded him here strangely. “Thank you.”
“Do you want to go inside? Get something to drink? I hear that it’s an open bar,” Hunter said. Leo wiped away a final tear with a laugh that bubbled in his chest. The stone felt lighter inside of him, less rigid, more smooth and manageable.
“Yeah, let’s go.”
Hunter’s hand slipped into Leo’s and guided him by the hand into the banquet hall. It was stunning inside, all dark greens and soft creams. He didn’t expect anything less from Ophelia Sarkissian, though. She was always put together, and on top of the latest fashions. They’d been such an odd couple, Ophelia in her exquisitely neat outfits and Leo with his rumpled button-down he’d spilled something on or burned the sleeve of. She was always righting his collar, or smoothing his shirt, trying to put him together a little bit more than he was. It was a fruitless effort, especially after his accident where he could barely dress himself. He’d traded ties for comforting cardigans, and hidden himself away to recover by himself, and they’d simply fallen apart.
But that had led them here, to Ophelia’s pristine wedding, and with Hunter’s hand in Leo’s as he was led to the bar.
He froze, though, before they got there, and turned to Leo with a look in his eyes like he’d seen a spectre.
“You okay?” Leo asked.
“Yeah,” Hunter said. “Yeah, well, no. No. The bartender.”
Leo peaked around his shoulder and looked at the bartender.
“What about him?”
“He’s, uhh, an ex-boyfriend, of a sort.”
“Of a sort?”
“Yeah, uhm,” Hunter glanced backwards over his shoulder. “If you need me, I’ll be in the bottom of one of those fishbowl fruity drinks with the umbrellas, drowning my sorrows in alcohol-soaked cherries.”
“That’s a bit dramatic, don’t you think?” Leo replied.
“No. But, okay, short story, I went on a few dates with him right after I divorced Bobbi, and he was alright, except when I decided I didn’t really want to date yet, he got absurdly clingy. He was sending messages day and night, and telling me if I didn’t go out with him again, or return his messages, he was going to kill himself.”
“Oh my god.”
“Yeah, so,” Hunter said softly. “Can I imposition you to ask a favor?”
“It’s not an imposition, but go ahead.”
“Yeah, okay, can you pretend to be my boyfriend just for the night? I’ll owe you so much. I’ll buy you dinner,” Hunter said, “for the rest of the week.”
“I’ll do it, but I am holding you to buying me dinner,” Leo said, and Hunter cocked an eyebrow at him.
“Are you sure?” Hunter said so softly Leo almost didn’t even hear him.
“I am sure,” Leo replied. “What did you want to drink?”
“Uhh,” Hunter said. He glanced around Leo again.
“Hey,” Leo said, squeezing his hand. “Come on.”
He walked Hunter over to the bar with a pleasant smile, holding Hunter’s hand and then as the bartender started over, slid his arm around Hunter’s waist. It was definitely a possessive move, but Leo was sure Hunter wouldn’t mind, since he leaned into him.
“Hello,” the bartender said. Hunter minutely teased against him.
“Hi, can I get a Scotch and soda, and - babe, what can I get you?” Leo asked, turning his eyes to Hunter with intentional heart eyes. It wasn’t hard. Hunter was an attractive man, and he was familiar enough to Leo that he absolutely could play along, and maybe mean it. He’d have to deal with that later.
“Oh, uhh,” Hunter said, peaking at him with a blush. “Whiskey sour.”
Leo grinned and playfully said, “I should have known.”
He kissed Hunter’s cheek, which was an unexpectedly bold move on his part, but Hunter’s eyes went soft and sweet afterwards, so he couldn’t find it in himself to mind the potential misstep.
“Right,” the bartender said, and moved to fill their order.
“You alright?” Leo asked. “Too much?”
“No, that was, that was good. Thank you.”
“Okay, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, that’s all.”
“I know. You’re good.”
Leo looked at the bartender as he mixed their drinks, and he could tell he was mixing them as weak as possible, but that was fine. Leo wasn’t exactly looking to get wasted at his ex’s wedding. The bartender came back and set the drinks down, staring at Hunter as if willing him to look back. Hunter kept his eyes on Leo, though.
Leo looked at the bartender and smiled.
“Thanks so much, mate,” Leo said, turning his eyes back to Hunter. “Come on, love, let’s go find our seats, yeah?”
“Yeah,” Hunter said. “That sounds good.”
Leo didn’t care where Hunter was sitting as compared to his own seat, they were sitting together and nothing could stop them. He resolved that they weren’t separating a second before they had to, and maybe, based on Hunter’s eyes on him still, just maybe Hunter agreed.

Fitzsimmons Family Headcanons in case canon fails me
And before they destroy them. Buckle up.
(I wrote this in less than an hour and english is not my first language, sooo sorry for any mistakes)
Edit: I re-posted it because it wasn’t showing up in the tags. sorry.
Enjoy! (Gift credit: X)
They finally decide to retire to their cottage.
Daisy and May lived with them for a while but at different times. Daisy around the time their first kid was born and May when the youngest was a kid already.
May and Daisy totally live together in the USA.
Fitzsimmons started a biomedical company, they make prostetics and medical supplies. They fund small researchers and become relatively known in the medical field (under aliases of course). They run their company from their home as much as they can.
Deke got bored of his company, so he eventually fused it with FS’s, he has enough money to travel around the world and be whatever he wants. Once was a TV chef, and he got bored and became a travel blogger, then launched a clothing line so it goes…
Tried to convince the team to turn their story into a broadway musical. They all said no. He brings it up everytime they are all together (you never know)
Fitzsimmons have three kids, they were all planned ;) of course
Daisy teases Fitz about how the three of them look like Jemma.“You are adopted”. the son is the only one who kinda looks like him. Fitz doesn’ t mind.
After the kids go their own ways they leave together again.
Have their own quinjet in case of emergencies, they say. Let’s be honest after years of flying with SHIELD, commercial flights lost their charm.
Look retired Fitzsimmons would be that kind of couple who travels the world together (properly this time), they say the quinjet is to visit their friends and Family around the world but would randomly send pictures of them in front of a famous landmark.
Mackenzie Skye Fitzsimmons (Daisy calls her Kye) (Born around 2021) (Quarantine baby) or (Timetravel baby)
They never asked Deke about their daughter’s name in the original timeline, but once they told him, judging by his reaction they knew it was this. (but in the lighthouse timeline her nickname was Kenzie)
Fitz was really adamant on this name, Jemma thought it was cute and a great way to honor their best friends, but years later he told the kid:
“you were named after two of the bravest persons I’ve ever met”.
Jemma just stared into the space as it dawned on her that her husband was really an idiot.
He winked at her and she forgave him. Eventually.
When she was a toddler Fitzsimmons moved back to the city and left their cottage, they wanted their daughter to have the best education and also didn’t want to wake her up early because the closest school was still an hour away.
Around that time Daisy found Bobbi, they met up, and Bobbi introduced her to her baby son Owen.
“oh my god. I need to call Fitzsimmons”
“what”
“shhhh. wait, it’s connecting... Hey guys! Look who is here! Bobbi and her baby Owen Shaw”
Fitz spits his tea all over his phone. Bobbi doesn’t know what’s going on, and they eventually explain it to her, well, after Daisy stops laughing and Fitz stops coughing.
Bobbi and Hunter had changed names and moved to England. After learning that Fitzsimmons live nearby, they make plans to see each other as much as they can. Look this is my headcanon AU so Fitzsimmons offer them positions in their company, Bobbi in the lab and Hunter in a made up security position that doesn’t fit his nametag.
Some weekends Fitz and Hunter take the babies to the park together, while Jemma and Bobbi work or hang out together. One day kye and Owen were playing and Owen proudly declared he was going to be an astronaut. Fitz was like “you and your son are the bane of my existence”.
The kids become best friends. Duh
BUT this is Bobbi and Hunter we are talking about, they’re nomads so they eventually move out around Europe and America, when the kid started high school they agreed to stay in one place.
Anyways,
Amazing kid, took a while for her parents to figure out the whole parenting thing but she was so great, as long as things went her way.
Fitz can’t say no to her. A dog? We’ll manage. Ice cream for breakfast? c’mon you know how convincing she can be.
She is a really calm kid, well behaved. Responsible older sister, mom friend, but messy af. “look mom, I have a system and I know where everything is”.
Nicest kid you’ll ever meet, but if you mess with her siblings be careful, you never know if you will find trash in your backpack.
She is an MD. Eventually, her parents moved back to the countryside but she stayed in the city with her sister to finish her education.
Makes friends everywhere she goes.
She and Owen started dating in their teens but were on and off several times, they even briefly dated other people because one of them would get scared of things becoming too serious (even more when they learned that Uncle Deke was genetically their son).
In their late twenties they decided to get married as a compromise to stay together and work things out, after all, some things are inevitable.
They had two kids: Daniel Shaw (Deke, but They wanted him to be his own person so they changed the name), Gabrielle Shaw (Born as Oliver Shaw)
Owen worked for a while for SWORD. Eventually decide to move to Germany to work as researchers.
Margaret Abigail Fitzsimmons (Maggie) (Born 2025)
The odd one. Grew up to be a successful artist. Really independent as a child, could play hours by herself or caually chill around her parents or her brother’s crib.
Despite being the only one in her family who isn’t into science, she loves doing experiments all the time, in the name of aesthetic. One time turned the dog blue. There’s a fire extinguisher in the living room just because of her. Banned from her parents’ lab “Pretty colors can go boom”. Aparently.
After being constantly told she is diferent from the rest of her family, she feels happy when someone tells her she looks like her mom. She scoffs but she doesn’t really mind.
Acts though but is a softie, vegan, activist, animal lover. Loves to tease everyone, prankster, makes fun of her mom but it’s the first person she thinks of when something troubles her. Late night calls are not unheard of.
Can’t commit to a single hobby. Photography, cooking, volunteer work... name something, and she has probably already tried it.
Really close to Deke, sometimes travels with him. They are kindred spirits. Feel like only them understand the need to explore and try new things.
She grew up to resent shield. Look she loves what her parents and their friends did, but hates how it affected them. Forgive and forget? in this economy??
Lives in Paris by herself but somehow always manages to get everyone to come to her art exhibits. You won’t be able to stop her once she sets her mind to something. Stubborn as her dad.
Doesn’t want kids, maybe one day if she feels ready she will adopt but she is happy as an aunt.
Matthew Phillip Fitzsimmons (Matthew) (Born 2030)
Ray of sunshine, Momma’s boy. He loves it when his parents take him to their lab. Ever since he could walk he is always following his sisters around, if they are up to something he is the first one to know. They love to tease him, but he has enough blackmail material to get them to shut up. He would never use it tho.
Computer genius. He has his own video game company. Launched his first video game at 16. Fitz is mildly offended he sees the Framework code as “old stuff”.
He is a sweetheart, adores his parents and calls them every single day. He met his wife in college and has been happy ever since. It was fast and passionate, they got married within a year and a few years later they had a baby.
Truly an example of living fast.
Melissa Fitzsimmons (his daughter) a sweetheart, may is her godmother. (The babies’ baby’s baby, i cry). The cousins are thick as thieves.
May loves the kid, “age is making you softer”, Daisy tells her and laughs, May’s glare while holding a baby is too much for her.
Emma Johnson (born 2029) (the honorary fourth kid)
Daisy’s daughter. Jemma cried when she told her the baby’s name. She wanted May and Jemma in the delivering room with her.
I can see Daisy being a badass single mother but I also see her finding love, I haven’t made up my mind but I think she will be loved either way.
Only child, so loves to hang out with the FS kids.
She and Matthew are best friends since they were little, even having video calls when they couldn’t see each other in person.
Fitz and Daisy had a bet on whether they would get together, but it was called off when it became apparent Emma wasn’t interested in men altogether. She was the first woman in his wedding.
The “Quake” legacy was too much for her so she decided to focus in something different. Currently works as an architect and on her spare time works as a freelance illustrator.
All I can imagine is a scene where the are all together in a field (probably the same one where they buried Coulson and Loop!Fitz) May, Fitzsimmons and Daisy. They try to meet up there at least once a year to chat and reminisce about old times, sometimes with Deke, Mack and Elena (and their twin boys) or just them.
Their kids are playing while their parents watch, but May’s watching them, with their backs to her they almost look like the kids she met in the bus all those years ago. Coulson would’ve been so proud, this is the future we were fighting for all along, she thinks.
“You did good”.
Daisy turns around with a soft smile on her face and says “yes, we did.”
The end

An Odd Family Tree
A series of snippets from the lives of the FitzSimmons family, set post 7x13. Also, the series of events that lead up to the birth of their grandson.
Available to read on AO3 and FF.net.
Comments make my day!
Chapter 26: Ever After
“So please, just tell me once and for all… who did I name my son after?”
Jemma turned to Fitz for help, she truly didn’t know what to say, but her husband was still frozen in his place, his mouth moving but not quite managing to form words.
So it was up to her, then. She took a deep breath- if she was going to tell her daughter the truth, then she might as well tell her everything rather than insult her intelligence.
“Alya, d-darling, do you remember the mission we told you about? The one where we were sent to the future to save the world from getting torn apart?”
Alya was quiet for a few moments before she replied. “I remember.”
“Well,” Jemma continued, her voice sounding as heavy as her heart felt in the unusually tense kitchen, “do you remember how we got back to the present?”
“Something to do with Uncle Enoch, right?” Alya questioned skeptically. She only had very vague memories of Uncle Enoch, but there were plenty of pictures showing the pair together. What she definitely couldn’t remember was him being a robot. He’d always just felt like a part of the family.
“Y-Yeah.” Fitz affirmed. “It is. B-But in order to get us home, h-he-”
“He needed backup.” Jemma said, and Fitz shot her a grateful look. “And so an… um, ally we’d made in the future offered to help. We all thought it was a suicide mission, but we think he ended up getting sucked in by the tiny piece of the monolith that was near him. He came back to our time and timeline too.”
“You never mentioned bringing someone back from the future with you! That’s a huge change to history.”
“We know!” Fitz exclaimed.
“We didn’t mean to.” Said Jemma. “But he came back with us and tried to help us.”
“Tried?” Alya questioned.
“He got shot and had to have emergency surgery.”
Fitz gasped and snapped his attention towards Jemma. “He got shot?! You never told me- oh no…”
Alya looked between them, her face darkening with concern. “Who was he, Mum?”
Jemma continued to purposefully ignore her. “Even after he got shot, none of us really had time for him. We treated him so horribly. I always thought that I did better than the others, but just now I realised that it felt more like an act back then. Like I was obliged to be nice to him. B-But I shouldn’t have…”
She choked back a sob then, and Fitz quickly rushed to her side to comfort her.
Alya couldn’t find it in herself to find sympathy. She glared at them, the same question reflected in her expression.
“You know, he told me once about his family.” Fitz said whilst rubbing Jemma’s back. “He was a… a slave, I think. All humans were in that future. He told me that his mum had been murdered in front of him when he was just nine-” his voice cracked at his own words- “and his dad was sent to die.”
Alya opened her mouth to say something, but Fitz didn’t let her.
“B-But that’s how he learned to survive!” He said, but it sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than anyone else. “He came back, started a whole company and was super rich and- and we left him…”
He covered his face with his hands and Jemma gently pried them off his face to kiss his cheek.
“He chose to stay behind.” Jemma reassured. “Without him, we wouldn’t be here, and this timeline might not even exist.”
“What was his name?” Alya whispered again, her skin a sickly pale hue.
Jemma and Fitz shared a look of devastation, because there was no going back or even going forward without revealing the inevitable. The silence in that moment was thick and heavy. It felt like no words would ever be able to cut through it.
Luckily, no words were needed. From outside, Deke’s sudden loud burst of giggles could be heard over Owen’s playful shout of exasperation.
Jemma’s head turned towards the window, though her vision was too blurred with both age and tears for her to focus it properly.
She smiled a wobbly smile.
“His name was Deke.”
Both Fitz and Jemma’s hearts broke at Alya’s cry of anguish. They watched her fall to her knees as she covered her mouth in an attempt to hide her shock. They both had strong instincts to comfort her, she needed it more than they did after all, but neither of them could find it within themselves to do so.
They felt like they didn’t deserve it.
“I-I thought you might have looked into the future or something.” She sobbed. “Not- not this! Not from that future!”
In-sync as always, Fitz and Jemma’s parental instincts broke them out of their guilty stupors and they hurried to their daughter to help her back to her feet.
“He was a hero.” Jemma said as she brushed the dirt off her daughter. “And trust me, once we’d brought him back he was genuinely the sweetest man I’ve ever known.”
Fitz let out a small scoff… that turned into a broken laugh… that melted into a sob.
“You said you left him.” Alya said, wiping away her tears with her sleeve almost childishly. “Where? Why didn’t you go back for him?”
“Our final mission.” Fitz supplied, knowing that his wife’s memories of those final moments of that mission were hazy. “In order to get us back to our timeline from the screwed up one and take all those chronicoms back with us, someone needed to activate the quantum device from the other end.”
Alya gasped with sudden understanding.
“Deke volunteered.”
“That drawer.” Stated Alya. “That’s-”
“All we could find left of him on the Zephyr once it was all over.” Jemma answered. “That tape we used the walkman with is all him. He stole the songs, but that was his voice.”
“I… I don’t believe…”
Her parents didn’t need to be prompted into wrapping her into their arms. They did so, and Alya let them hold her as she shook and cried and mourned.
“Why are you sad?”
The trio turned their heads towards the owner of the little voice, who was standing in the doorway where Alya had caught them. He was fidgeting with his t-shirt again, his brown spiky hair was all tousled and full of mud, and his face was full of such genuine concern that made it look strange upon such a small child’s face.
“Oh, my little monkey.” Alya called, sniffling. “Come here.”
She immediately knelt down and opened her arms out for a confused Deke to run into. Her hands closed around him like a trap that wasn’t going to let go of its prey any time soon. And everyone was fine with that.
“I’m so, so proud of you.” Alya’s voice was muffled by the fact that her face was buried into Deke’s bony chest.
“We love you very much, sweetie.” Jemma said, planting a kiss on Deke’s free hand. “More than you can ever know.”
Fitz ruffled his already messy hair. “Seriously, you’re the best, Baby Deke.”
“I’m not a baby!” Deke stuck his tongue out at his grandad, satisfied that his family wasn’t sad anymore. “Stop saying baby!”
“You’re right.” Jemma said warmly.
Fitz smiled, linking hands with his wife. “You’re our big Deke now.”
The pair noticed that Alya squeezed their grandson tighter. They shared a knowing look.
Deke grinned widely, the gaps in his teeth becoming more clear. There was an air of innocence around him that neither Jemma nor Fitz had ever gotten the chance to see before.
“Thanks Bobo, thanks Nana. You’re the best too.”
~-.-~
Leo and Jemma Fitz-Simmons had thought that they’d gotten their happy ending the very second Alya was born. It had been the happiest day of their lives, despite the team being missing, because they were finally a family.
But since they’d completed the mission that they’d been preparing for years, it had felt like something was still missing. They’d lost Enoch. They’d lost Deke.
They didn’t really have time for mourning back then. They had to set up proper lives for themselves. Raise a daughter and actually live normal lives. Still, that void left by those losses felt like it could never be filled.
At least, that was the case until Fitz stumbled upon Owen Shaw.
Meeting Owen brought them hope. He brought the chance of healing the open wound, of mending something that was permanently broken. Or, in their case, permanently stuck in a disastrous reality that he never should have been in.
It had taken many, many years, but Deke Shaw was finally born and with him that void had started to close. Slowly but surely.
The couple had known since his birth that they would have to tell Alya the truth at some point, but time passed quickly and they didn’t know how to proceed. They grew older and older, but so did Deke.
Alya was angry at first, as any mother would be. But after a lot of explaining, she understood. They gave her the power of telling Owen if she wanted to, and she decided against it. For as much as the memory of Deke influenced her son, she wanted him to be his own person.
Or at least, that’s what she told her parents. But they knew her well enough to know that she was just trying to distance him from the orphaned slave as much as she could for the benefit of her own mental health.
Yet, perhaps for some unrelated reason, the rift that had formed between Owen and Deke began to close. Owen grew closer to his son and by some miracle began to treat him in such a kind way that would never be associated with the boisterous Owen Shaw.
Alya herself had grown almost inseparable with her son. She comfortably changed her job to a part-time position in order to be able to spend more time with him. This extra time allowed her to take him to a dietitian to help improve his physical health. Though his ribs were still visible, he was no longer underweight, and that in itself was a huge achievement to Alya.
She’d also grown a lot closer to her parents. Though for a while they’d been distant due to work demands, they ended up visiting a lot more often and having little adventures in the garden. She knew that they needed support, and she wouldn’t hesitate to give it to them. They were her everything. As was Deke.
Deke, as all children do, grew up too fast. One day he was a mischievous five-year-old, the next he was a mischievous nine-year-old. He was considered a genius in his school and did end up moving up a class. Since he still struggled with making friends though, he fell to his grandparents. He never failed to make them laugh, and would boast to his classmates about how cool his Nana and Bobo were. That they used to be spies!
And FitzSimmons? Well, time passed for them too. Also too quickly. They renovated the Deke Drawer into the Deke Shelf. A shelf in a display cabinet filled with little trinkets in the living room, there for all to see.
They knew that, however much time they had left, they didn’t want to spend it keeping secrets or worrying over loose ends. They’d long since dismantled their lab and all prototypes and equipment within it. Their consciences were free. They were free.
Fitz grew his fabulous grey beard to a ridiculously long length. Jemma convinced him to trim it. This was the sort of adventure they liked now, the sort that involved only laughs and no danger or SHIELD or loss.
And they were happy. They’d had to wait half a century for it, but the universe had gifted them with uninterrupted happiness.
This was their true happy ending.
There will be 2 epilogue chapters following this. Thank you for reading!

Agents of Shield Rewatch 7x03 Alien Commies From Outer Space!
Look I am bigtime hype to watch this episode and I think we all know why.
Honestly Dousy is not the only reason this episode has a lot of fun stuff
But also Daniel J. Sousa is about to meet his future wife girlfriend and I have feelings about that
Aww this kid is so pure he legit wanted to see a flying saucer with his girl
But also he’ll make out if she wants
We’re in 1955 yay
At Area 51
How hilarious is it that Sousa is over Area 51 then ended up traveling space with his superhero gf what a world
Oh I forget this is our first view of Queen Sibyl too who was honestly vastly underused this season
“Conspiracy me was so right” Omg Daisy I love you
I’m going to throw in a cut here because this got so, so long
And honestly it’s not going to get better this season I imagine
Jemma Simmons legit sounds like she memorized the Shield history books and I love that about her
Look at Mackelena talking and being so cute and loving I cry
“Odd is the new normal” OH DAISY YOU HAVE NO IDEA
This surly diner waitress is everything
Oh a little light kidnapping cool
These costumes are also amazing
I’m crying at Jemma’s Peggy Carter cosplay she is legit living the dream
Ok but Coulson made fun of Jemma enjoying being Peggy but he is eating this up as well let’s be real
Elena should have punched him out. Mack should have as well. For real this guy needs to be hit.
This test to determine who is human is amazing
Lol poor Sousa when he things Peggy is there
But also A+ entrance from my man
Aww Deke wants to change
Although honestly this Deke made me think they had a clear idea of what they were doing with Deke and then...well, we’ll talk about that later
Also I have a question about these files...did the racist DoD guy have them? That’s kind of what it sounded like earlier. If so, why would he have these particular files? Aka why Sousa’s (other than we needed a plot reason for Daisy to get involved)
But also that’s a saucy pic of Sousa AND he was reported to the field on my birthday...32 years before I was born
I realize you can math my age if you are so inclined by I’ve made no secret of the fact that I am old
Also he’s a GS-20 which is pretty high and makes $4200 which is above the average salary of $3400 for males (and way above the average of $1100 for females) for 1955
Yes I just googled that for no reason but also this explains that spiffy suit because it is well tailored my friends
Anyway Daisy knows that he’s Peggy Carter’s old partner so either May forced her to read Shield history 101 or Jemma would just share random Peggy facts all the time
Either option is likely
Omg I’m crying at Sousa fixing his hair before meeting “Peggy”
Jemma speaks German?
I mean she learned alien so I guess it makes sense
Sousa is so sassy hahahaha
But also Jemma realizes she’s in trouble really quickly which is very Jemma
This is going to be so long I’m so sorry
Coulson Comedy Hour continues on the bus now
Coulson’s heart eyes when he sees Sousa though omg hahahaa
Deke worked in tech in present time and hasn’t heard of the Pentagon? I find that hard to believe...
Let May punch the racist!
I’ve said this before but I absolutely die that Sousa walks into his office, sees Daisy there, and immediately turns around like it’s clearly his mistake hahahaha
Daisy does an awesome job here. She clearly did her Sousa research. Which is kind of hilarious all things considered.
Props to Chloe to because she does this very subtle thing when she realizes that Sousa is talking about Hydra infiltrating Shield. She immediately switches from having a fun time to realizing that this guy is onto something serious, and she has great empathy for his situation.
Also that look she gives when he leaves the room is :chef’s kiss:
“We were interfacing so well” Deke also doesn’t human very well
Oh look we found the Chronicom!
History lesson via Melinda May
Ok but also May and Elena look amazing
“Worst fake accent you’ve ever heard” SOUSA NO HAHAHA
I didn’t notice the first time how May gets overwhelmed because she keeps getting touched by all these scared people. Poor thing though. :(
And touching Elena must have helped calmed her some awww
Sousa sounds like he’s yelling at my kids omg “Both of you stop” legit this is my life
He’s also very confused about what just happened which is fair
I love they way he pats his subordinate as reassures them that he’s ok like
I JUST THINK HE’S NEAT OK
NO I’M CRYING AT MACK AND DEKE PLAYING ALIENS HERE
Well first of all, 200/10 on the Costumes scale because once again they are killing. it. Coulson and Jemma both get a 100/10 on the Fandom scale because it was seriously showing. Also, we’re going straight to a 50/10 on the Dousy scale which will honestly only go up from here. I remember posting about them after this ep and getting several negative comments but like I got endgame Dousy so...that’s that.
Also May, Elena, and Mack all get my “Should Have Got to Punch the Racist” award because they should have. Multiple times.
The song for this episode is “Bo Diddley” by Bo Diddley because legends deserve music by legends.

THG AU Chapter 27
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Chapter 15 Chapter 16 Chapter 17 Chapter 18 Chapter 19 Chapter 20 Chapter 21 Chapter 22 Chapter 23 Chapter 24 Chapter 25 Chapter 26
*Natasha Romanoff was in The Capitol for an interview. She was now three months pregnant and everyone was buzzing about the baby. This interview was to announce the winners of the baby naming competition. The only thing keeping Natasha from being furious about not getting to name her own child was the fact that S.H.I.E.L.D. was going to stick it to The Capitol.*
Ceaser: I think we all know what we’re here for. Natasha, if you would open the envelope.
Natasha: Okay, Ceaser. Here goes nothing.
Ceaser: Can we get a drumroll please? *drumroll* Thank you.
Natasha: The winning name for a baby girl is Victoria, and if it’s a boy, the winner is... Triffle. *her face falls*
* Meanwhile in District 12, everyone is watching the interview together at Natasha and Bruce’s.*
Pietro: Triffle? *bursts out laughing*
Fury: That poor child.
Maria: That’s unfortunate.
Bruce: Triffle?! They want us to name our child Triffle?! That’s not even a name!
Wanda: Evidently, it is in The Capitol.
Melina: That’s okay. Triffle is a bit... odd, but we would love him anyway. Besides, Victoria is a very nice name.
Alexei: Our poor grandson is going to be teased so much.
Fury: Have you met this child’s parents? He’ll be fine.
Bruce: For everyone’s sake I hope we have a girl.
*A week later, Natasha and Bruce went to their first S.H.I.E.L.D. meeting. It was held in a hovercraft above the wilds.*
Peggy: I know we haven’t met in a while, but I assure you S.H.I.E.L.D. is as active as ever. We have three new agents today, so please give a warm welcome to Maria Hill, Bruce Banner, and Natasha Romanoff.
Grant: Wait, didn’t she just get married? Why does she still have her same last name?
Natasha: The Capitol already knows me well, so changing my name didn’t make much sense.
Peggy: Why don’t we all just introduce ourselves? I’ll start. My name is Peggy Carter and I live in District 4.
Phil: I’m Phil Coulson, I live in District 9.
Melinda: Melinda May, District 2.
Lincoln: Lincoln Campbell, District 5. I know, shocking.
Lance: Lance Hunter, District 2.
Thor: You guys know me. You also know Steve! *Steve waves*
Daisy: Daisy Johnson, I’m from 3.
Bruce: Yeah, I’ve met you. You’re the new girl from coding.
Daisy: That’s me.
Tripp: Antoine Triplett, but you can call me Tripp. I also live in District 3.
Grant: Grant Ward, from District 2.
Jemma: Jemma Simmons. I live in District 3, but I invent medical devices so I’m always in The Capitol.
Bobbi: Bobbi Morse, I’m also from District 2. Imagine that.
Lance: She’s my wife.
Leo: Leo Fitz. I’m from District 3, but we’ve met.
Bruce: Yes, yes we have.
Mack: Alphonso Mackenzie, District 6. You can call me Mack.
Daniel: I’m Daniel Sousa. I live in District 10 and I think that’s everyone, right?
Gamora: You forgot us.
Daniel: Right, our friends from The Capitol.
Gamora: I’m Gamora Zen-Titan, as you may remember.
Mantis: Mantis Brandt-Snow. I’m so happy to be here!
Nebula: Nebula Lupho-Titan. *pointing at Gamora* I’m her sister.
Peter: Peter Quill-Snow. *pointing at Mantis* I’m her sister.
*Everyone goes silent and gives Peter an odd look. A few people stifle laughter. A moment later, Peter realizes his mistake.*
Peter: Wait, no! She’s my- *sigh* never mind.
Bruce: Wait. Snow, Titan, I know those names! You let the children of the president and his closest advisor join a society to take them down?
Peter: Our father is Snow’s brother, actually.
Gamora: Not to mention none of us want anything to do with the corrupt and unfair system that is our government! The things going on in Panem just aren’t right, and anyone could see that no matter who their “family” is! Panem needs to enter a new era, and soon.
Bruce: Fair enough, carry on.
Loki: I’m Loki Odinson and *pointing to Thor* I’ve never met that man in my life.
Natasha: Oh, are you two siblings?
Loki: No. I’ve seriously never met him. It’s a total coincidence that we have the same last name.
Thor: It’s actually kind of freaky, especially considering we look very similar.
Loki: For the last time, we do not look alike! At all!
Peggy: Can we get back to business?
Thor: Right, sorry.
Peggy: Anyway, we need to take a few more people before we’re ready to start the next phase of our plan. *to Bruce and Natasha* That’s where you come in. We need to recruit Tony Stark, Wanda Maximoff, and Pietro Maximoff. Banner, you need to get Tony on board. Natasha, you will handle the Maximoffs.
*Natasha and Bruce accepted their assignment and the rest of the meeting went pretty well. After the meeting, Bruce was snuck to District 3 so he could talk to Tony. He encased them in the secret bubble.*
Tony: Bruce? What are you doing here?
Bruce: I’ll tell you in a minute, but first I want to know how you’re holding up. Did they ever find Pepper?
Tony: *starting to cry* No. It’s been four months and we’ve found nothing. Well, nothing but this. *Tony pulls out a ring* They found her wedding ring in the ruins of her sister’s house.
Bruce: *pulls Tony into a hug* I’m so sorry. If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to call. How’s Morgan?
Tony: She’s still my pride and joy. She misses her mommy, but she’s a wonderful daughter. Just turned three. I’m keeping this one close, I can’t lose her like I did Peter and Pepper. Speaking of children, congratulations. I heard about the baby. You’re not seriously going to name a boy Triffle, are you?
Bruce: We have no choice. Anyway, back to the reason I’m here. The government of Panem needs to be stopped. A secret organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. is working to overthrow Snow, and I’ve been sent to recruit you.
Tony: No. No way. I can’t join a revolution.
Bruce: We need you! The Hunger Games, the bombings, the whippings, the avoxes and muttations, none of this is acceptable! We owe it to Peter and Pepper and Vision and Sammy and everyone else The Capitol saw as disposable. This isn’t right and it isn’t fair!
Tony: I know, but this sounds dangerous and my top priority will always be keeping my daughter safe.
Bruce: What if your daughter could live in a world where she didn’t have to worry about the reaping every year? A world where she could see other districts. A world where the citizens aren’t oppressed.
Tony: That sounds amazing, but I can’t. What if they find out and kill Morgan?
Bruce: We won’t let that happen. Just please consider it. These people really want to make a change, and I want to be a part of it. But none of this is possible without you.
Tony: And you’re sure these people can be trusted?
Bruce: Yes.
Tony: Then count me in. For Pepper. And Peter. And for Morgan. Most importantly, for the future of Panem. I’m joining your revolution.
*Meanwhile back in 12*
Natasha: You may be wondering why I shut you both in a soundproof invisibility bubble with me. There is a secret organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. that has been created to overthrow Snow and I was sent to recruit you because-
Both twins at once: We’re in.
*About two months later, everyone at S.H.I.E.L.D. was preparing to deliver the first blow. *
Peggy: Okay, we want to start small with something barely noticeable. In order to do that, we need someone to sneak in and grab a secret file. With that gone, The Capitol will no longer have arena ideas for the next few years. The 91st Hunger Games is probably already all planned, given it’s in a month, but this will be a major setback and a distraction for some of the most prominent figures in The Capitol.
Natasha: If we’re doing something against the games, I want to be involved.
Peggy: Absolutely not. You are in no condition to sneak into that building.
Natasha: What’s that supposed to mean?!
Peggy: Ordinarily, I’d send you in in a heartbeat, but...
Natasha: What? Am I not good enough? Did you see me in the games? I’m not proud of it, but I’m told I was impressive!
Bruce: Nat, you’re five months pregnant.
Natasha: Oh, right.
Peggy: Anyway, we’re sending in Wanda, Daisy, and Gamora. Tony Stark has made rigs for Daisy and Wanda similar to what Peter Parker made in the games. Wanda, yours will allow you to move objects with your mind.
Tony: These ones are a lot stronger than what you had in the arena. You’ll be able to move bigger objects and even people. They also work long distance.
Peggy: Daisy, yours will allow you to pulse vibrations through the floor, creating miniature earthquakes.
Tony: You can direct them towards specific people and everything.
Peter: What about Gamora? Are you just going to send her in with nothing?
Gamora: Don’t be ridiculous. *pulling out ID badge* I have my dad’s ID badge. It’ll give us access to everything. Also, I have a retractable sword.
Peter: Oh, okay.
Daniel: So you’ll be safe then? Because you have the ID badge?
Daisy: We’ll be fine, I promise. *kisses his cheek* Besides, it’s a really fast, in and out, kind of mission. We’ll be back before you know I’m gone.
Daniel: I miss you already. Be safe.
Daisy: Don’t worry, we will.
*After they leave*
Tony: So, you and Daisy, huh? How’d you two meet?
Daniel: We’re both involved with S.H.I.E.L.D. She and I met through this.
Tony: Meeting through work, nice. That’s how I met my wife. *sniff* Well, I guess now she’s my ex wife. *begins sobbing*
Bruce: *puts hand on Tony’s shoulder* You’ll be okay. here. *hugs Tony*
Daniel: Messy divorce?
Bruce: She was killed in an attack by The Capitol.
*An hour later, Daisy, Gamora, and Wanda return. S.H.I.E.L.D. is officially up and running, and they aren’t going to back down.*

AOS 30 Day Challenge
My last catch up post 🙁
Day 26: Most romantic scene: Fitz and Simmons discussing the event horizon (3x18); Elena stays at Mack's side in the Framework (4x22)
Fitz and Simmons were so shy and sweet and anxious when they sat down waiting to hear from Radcliffe and took a moment to discuss the next step in their relationship. Mack knew why undercover agents turn off their comms 😉 and later has a sweet talk with Jemma about what Fitz means to her. Of course making love to Jemma would be crossing the event horizon for Fitz, and she was so charmed by that. I love that they allowed themselves to express their hesitation and excitement here so that they could cross that horizon together.
The romanticism of Elena going into the Framework gets lost in the tragedy of Hope's death. Elena wanted nothing more than to be with the man she loved; it doesn't get more romantic than that. Elena is an underappreciated character and Mackelena is an underappreciated ship (seriously I couldn't find any good Mackelena stickers on reddit), so a lot of her passion isn't discussed. Elena doesn't do anything half-way amd that includes caring for Mack. She'll stay by his side until the very end and she showed that here. She also showed a Lack that didn't know her that there are people in the real world that love, support, and need him. He needed to see that to leave that world.
Day 27: Best kiss: FitzSimmons in The Singularity (3x18); Philinda finally kiss in the midst of battle (5x21)
Jemma and Fitz were so happy together when they reunited in the hotel room. They promised eachother they wouldn't let anything stop them in the previous episode and that includes encounters with Hive and their Hived-friend. They allowed themselves a moment to get lost in eachother and were not going to take anything for granted. Their smiles are so pure for what they are about to do.
After spending the last two seasons dancing around eachother, Coulson finally FINALLY kissed May and it was epic. The framing was perfect and it was such an action movie kiss because that man is so extra ("Thought that would shit you up"). We shared in Daisy's delight of seeing the parents kiss. I'm so glad she got to see it.
Honorable mention: "Can you believe we are married, husband?" "No I cannot, wife" The domesticity of it 😊 (5x13)
Day 28: Favorite vehicle: The Zephyr 1
The Zephyr has pulled the agents out of a lot of situations and gotten them into others. It was the first part of Shield newly found Inhumans saw as they rode in the containment unit to base. It was effectively Mack and Coulson's home in the hiatus between seasons 3 and 4. It survived the apocalypse and became home to the Believers who would finish FitzSimmons' time machine to bring the team minus Fitz to the future. It brought a genuine smile to Fitz's face when he and Hunter found it and brought what would take Fitz to the future with his friends to the Lighthouse. And it's cool. It can fly in space as well as in our atmosphere and by the end of season 6 it's a time machine. It's the little ship that could (well, little compared to the ship's they faced in space). I remember writing a post after s5 about how the Zephyr is a symbol of hope (a big theme on the show). It arrived in Chicago when the people were facing a new threat who was tearing apart tgeir home and brought Shield, which brought both relief and rescue.
Day 29: Favorite base: The Playground
Eventhough it was underground, the Playground felt like a home, and that had a lot to do with the dynamics we saw when the team lived in it. It's where Fitz met and bonded with Mack. It's where the original team met Bobbi and Hunter. The lab was where Jemma and Fitz shared their first kisses. Daisy met and started the Secret Warriors at the Playground. Hunter and Bobbi reconciled in the Playground. They remembered Trip in the Playground. The team made a lot of good memories at the Playground and I was sad to see them leave it for the last time.

Traveling Through Europe AU for @2minutes2midnight
Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons had had their fair share of adventures. More than most, in fact. They had been to space, to the future, to the past, around the world and back again. But it was after they left S.H.I.E.L.D. to start their family and be together that they realized how little they had actually seen.
“Hey, Jems,” Fitz called from their living room, “have you ever been to the Louvre?”
Jemma peeked her head out from the kitchen archway. “Yes. With my mum and dad forever ago. Why? Have you not?”
Fitz shook his head. “There wasn’t time when I went with my mum. What about the Colosseum?”
“Fitz, the last time we were in Italy we were on that doom train. We didn’t exactly get to see the sights.”
He nodded, his laptop in his lap. Jemma looked at him quizzically. “What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking,” Fitz said, turning to look at her with his arm draped across the back of the couch, “that we should travel through Europe.”
Jemma broke into a fit of laughter. When a hurt expression fell over Fitz’s face, she quickly rushed over, kissing away the creases on his forehead. “Oh, Fitz. It’s just--I didn’t expext you to want to travel given all the adventures we’ve had.”
He smiled and grabbed the hand she had placed on his shoulder. “Yeah, we’ve had adventures. But not quite normal ones. And we could go home and visit my mum and your parents and not fight robots. We could visit Italy and not be chased after by Hydra goons. We could go see museums together and eat good food and not have to worry about what’s lurking down side streets. And--”
Jemma cut him off with a kiss, breaking it off by smiling widely. “That sounds lovely, husband.”
He grinned. “I thought so, too, wife.”

Rewatching S.O.S. Part 2
If it weren’t for a certain young scientist with two PhDs in allegedly unpronounceable fields being sucked into a portable Einstein-Rosen bridge, S.O.S. would be the closest AoS came, to date, to deliver an upbeat ending in a season finale.
S1′s finale had comatose Fitz and the uncertainity of the future, S3′s is a complete tragedy, S4′s had the prospect of jail time looming and the kidnapping to space and beyond and S5′s is a cryfest. And I’m not really counting S6 as it feels more like a midseason cliffhanger, but time travelling to the Prohibition era to stop a bunch of uptight synthetics from conquering the planet isn’t exactly a happily ever after scenario.
S2, however, leaves almost all the characters in reasonably good places.
Sure, Skye’s just lived through the worst family reunion ever and lost both her parents again but she’s endured, has finally all the answers about where she comes from and is looking to lead a team of her own, saving lives and making a difference, which is what she always wanted.
Phil lost his hand and May’s leaving but he’s full of plans for the future and S.H.I.E.L.D. is much stronger and rich of resources than it was when the season started. He’s succeded at the nigh impossible task of rebuilding after The Fall.
May’s going on vacation and has a second chance with Andrew and maybe at a life where S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t everything. She’s smiling, stealing whisky and packing red bikinis and guns, which is sort of a positive, too, because until now she didn’t want anything to do with guns unless absolutely necessary. She’s feeling better about herself.
Bobbi is traumatized and has a long recovery ahead but she is alive, which wasn’t a given, and there is no reason to believe she won’t pull through, and she and Hunter are in a good place with each other again (or look like they will be).
Lance has Bobbi back and he’s not the mistrusted merc with a fake cynical attitude he was at the beginning of the season.
Mack didn’t quit and is bossing British scientists around, in full control of one of the things he fears most, alien stuff.
And FitzSimmons are safe, sound and have a dinner date planned.
Yeah, even if Jemma hadn’t been eaten by Monolith Prime 15 seconds later, that would have been a red flag. 😉
Gotta Catch ‘Em All:
In Part 1 Jiaying’s gift revealed itself to be much less benign than everyone had been led to believe, audience included: not a simple passive tissue regeneration and/or a slower decay but an active, vampiric-like ability that requires her to willingly “absorb” somebody else’s vitality to heal and prolong her own life.
Given that her DNA is a key ingredient for the final version of the Centipede serum (5x19), it’s likely she does have some form of passive self-healing ability, too, but to heal serious wounds and to extend her lifespan over centuries, she needs “the generosity of others”, as she so very creepily understates in 2x21.
Going on Cal’s words, for many generations she did it out of a sense of duty, entrusted to carry on the Inhumans’ knowledge and traditions, with willing volunteers and while still trying to convince them otherwise ( “She would weep, scream, beg them not to” 2x22)
After Whitehall, she had to go through numerous subjects to heal - an entire village, “supplied” by Cal - and taking so many unwilling lives likely burned out whatever might have been left of the compassionate and loving person she was described to be before her horrific ordeal.
Stuff that crossed my mind:
What we both want is to protect your daughter. Welcome to an all new episode of Agents of D.A.D.S.!
I'm not saying your wife is a monster, Cal. I think you already know she's a monster. What I'm saying is, you're not. I know you've thought so for a long time. But deep down, you're a good man. I believe that. I do. Honestly, I think they were both good people, once, and now they’re not. But, you’re trying to convince him to help you and Jiaying is unquestionably gone off the rails at this point.
You got a big heart, full of love. You wear it on your sleeve. Skye got that from you. You know, wearing one’s heart on one’s sleeve sounds like a terrible trait for a secret agent.
Jiaying's out for blood, and there's no way in hell Skye will go along with that. Think about the danger that puts her in. She's not my daughter, but she's as close to family as I've got, and I will save her, no matter what the cost. Soooo, that stuff about “it’s not her safety, it’s her usefulness” you said last ep was you fronting, uh? I would never have guessed it. 😁
You want to lend me a hand getting these things off? Or a face? 🤣
Who’s with you? -- Just you and me, Tremors. "Just you and me, Tremors”. 🤗 I want more of just him and Tremors. Pls, S7? Also first time he calls her Tremors. 🤗
We have to show them what we're capable of. It's the only way they'll ever leave us alone. Actually, it seems like the perfect way to ensure humans wouldn’t leave you alone. And, powers or not, there’s like a gazillion more of them than you.
The problem is, [the S.O.S. signal] is hard-wired, clear on the other side of the ship, with a dozen Ginger Ninjas and God knows who else standing in the way. -- But we're still gonna try. -- Hell yeah. The totally excellent adventure of Mack and the Daisy. 😉 (though I expect the “D” in that title refers to Mr. Lemons).
I didn't think May would be with him. She could screw the whole thing up for us. Nice of you to not underestimate her.
[May radioes fake instructions to fool Kara] Hunter’s the only agent left -- She doesn’t know that. And look. She just screwed the whole thing up for them. 😎
And what about us? How dangerous are we? -- Very. We've always been. Now they know it. They’ve always known it, genius, they were scared shitless of you, that’s how (part) of this mess started. And you confirming their worst fears is how it’s ending. 😞
They have turned Jiaying’s own daughter against us. No, I’m pretty sure it was all the unprovoked murdering that did it.
She just killed them, all of them, didn’t even think about it. [...] And I fell for the whole act. -- [...] You had to choose between two sides that both mean something. I get it. You make the best choice you can. Sometimes, it works out. Sometimes -- It didn’t -- It did not. Is it possible you’re speaking from experience there, Mack? 😉
Try to hack the code and turn it off -- Wait. Where are you going? -- To find a power saw in case you can’t. Ok, now you’re just being insulting. In case she can’t hack it? What show have you been watching? 😄
I've modified my field generators to act in unison as a quantum-field disrupter. [...] The disrupter should keep him contained to a single space. This nifty piece of technology will be re-used in 4x21 to temporarily contain Aida who had acquired Gordon’s teleportation ability from the experiments in the Framework.
Let’s get her prepped for surgery. Unless Jemma graduated while she was infiltrating Hydra - and tbh I wouldn’t put it past her - it appears that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s best trauma surgeon is someone who doesn’t even have a proper medical degree. Could be much worse, though, the lead surgeon could be a mechanical engineer guided step by step by a field agent reading “Surgery for Dummies” on her tablet. 😁
Jiaying staged the whole thing. She murdered Gonzales, then shot herself to frame S.H.I.E.L.D. so we'd follow her to war. [...] -- Do you even hear how crazy that sounds? Says the guy who shoots lighting from his hands and is currently hijacking the ship of an organization that routinely deals with alien invasions and people with superpowers.
I was getting through to him. -- Right now, I’m in a “crack heads first, ask questions later” frame of mind. It’s fine, I wouldn’t worry, Lincoln’s pretty hard-headed. 🤭
How bad are we talking? -- There’s no way it will end well. Was she still fearing a Bahrain #2? Despite Coulson’s unwavering convinction, they didn’t know Skye was back on their side yet.
This? Now? You want to talk about this now? Indeed, awful timing. Neither of you is in imminent mortal danger, after all.😄
Sir, something’s happening with the S.O.S. signal from the boat [...] There's a pattern to it, like a code. -- It's Skye. What's she saying? -- That it's a trap. See, Mack? Of course she can hack it. 😎
Break the crystals. Release the mist. Either they’re Inhuman or they’re dead. I’m starting to see the wisdom in Mack’s “crack heads first” policy. Other than Skye, Lincoln seems to be the only Inhuman on screen who has a problem with murder.
It’s Gordon, right? -- And you are? -- I’m the guy who kills Gordon. As it turns out, you’re actually the friend of the guy who kills Gordon. Still iconic, though. 😉
There are descendants everywhere. I’m going to find them and build them a better world, where they’re not hunted, not afraid. -- And kill anyone in your way. -- Only if they’re in our way. Oh sure, when you put it like that, it sounds much more peaceful.
“No-eyes”?That is the best you can do? Hey, cut him some slack, he already came up with Tremors and Ginger Ninjas. Even the Homer of nicknames nods off sometimes.
What are those things? -- Quantum field disrupters. Should contain him here if he comes back. -- Of course. Why didn't I think of that? -- That's okay. You've been busy, and you're not a quantum physicist. It's completely understandable. 🤣
My head still hurts. -- I'm sorry. I didn't know. Well, not a “lengthy” apology but it’ll do in a pinch. They are a bit pressed for time, after all.
Skye, I’ll do it. I’ve done it before. -- No -- You have to be willing to -- I won’t hesitate. Whatever it takes. Yep, Bahrain’s definitely on May’s mind. And Skye just pledged to kill her other mom if it comes to it. This isn’t fun anymore. 😞
I'm trapped in here. That's not possible! What did you do?! -- Science, biatch. Speaking of iconic lines...
This war started decades ago, when S.H.I.E.L.D.was founded to guard the world against people like us. And it will never end. But you and I together...think of how powerful we could be. We could launch a revolution, side by side. -- I don’t want your revolution, because this isn’t about protecting me or your people. This is about hate. It’s consumed you. You can’t even tell right from wrong. “Join me and together we can rule the galaxy”. Oops, wrong Disney property. 😁 Props to Jiaying for speaking of a “revolution” though, she did learn at least something about her daughter’s inclinations these past few weeks.😉
Please. Stop. You don't have to do this. You don't have to live with that pain. I will. -- Cal, what are you doing? -- Keeping my promise. And how much worse of what Skye had imagined did the truth about her family turn out to be? Greek tragedy worse. 😭
Taking a bullet for me was stupid. -- Walking into a trap when you know it's a trap is stupid. Sounds like you’re made for each other, if you ask me.😁
But soon, you’ll be stable, and then -- And then, I can’t do this anymore. Add this to the list of “I really want to choke Ward” moments.😡
[Mack] respects you. But he still holds a deep distrust of all the alien artifacts you've encountered. -- That's why I put him in charge of them. And from the looks of it, Weaver and Jemma might eventually murder you for it. 😂
I'm your patient now? I wasn't your patient the other night when you and your ex-wife snuck into my office and drank up half my scotch. Was it Haig?
I got Fitz working on these designs. We'll need to be mobile. Hey, check those outs. The early schematics for the Zephyr One.
I'm glad you think Skye's ready for this. -- At this point, I think she's ready for anything. Not quite. 😭😭
You're better than I imagined, and I imagined you perfect. You're way more interesting than that. Ikr? 😎
She walked out on you? -- She drowned when her lungs filled up with blood. That’s one way to get rid of nosy bartenders. 😂
What's the plan, sir? Chaos? -- Closure. Because it worked out so well for you so far... 🙄
Just ask for Dr. Winslow. I'm sorry. And you are? -- Daisy. *dead*
If we do this, we need to be -- Anonymous. That's the idea. But it's not “if” we do this. We have to do this. We don't have a choice. It may feel like things have cooled down right now, but this? [shows the stump] This is my permanent reminder that we'll always be paying the price, that we'll never get ahead of the consequences that I, that you, that S.H.I.E.L.D. have set in motion. -- Like a ripple in the water. -- But this ripple won’t fade. It’ll grow and grow until it’s a tidal wave. It almost sounds like whoever wrote your dialogue (Jed&Mo) already knew there was going to be a deluge of new Inhumans next season... 😁
[noticing the open door of the Monolith’s enclosure] Ugh, what idiot... Your idiot, just now, I believe. Which makes this even worse. 😭

Steggy + trick or treat
Does the Steggy family do themed outfits every year? Yes. Yes they do. Does this make sense? No it does not. Is Peggy in the future? Yeee.
--
When your goddaughter [or well a goddaughter] asks for you to take her trick or treating with her parents, you can’t say no.
However, what you can do is say yes and tell ‘em that your wife will be coming along because you know mummy and daughter love your wife and because Peggy has never been trick or treating.
“I don’t understand this holiday,” Peggy sighed, rubbing a hand over her large belly. She flinched when a foot kicked hard against her hand, groaning when Steve stepped over to gently rub her belly and press a scratchy kiss to her tender skin.
“It’s simple, you dress up, go door to door asking for candy. Come on, Ayla asked us and I couldn’t say no. Besides, you know Ayla loves you and Jemma does too and Bruce says we need to walk around more if we want Jamie out anytime soon.”
“Michael,” Peggy corrected, gently swatting at Steve’s head to get him to move as she looked down at the outfits. “Yes, but isn’t it a bit dangerous to go door to door?”
“Please, you think I’m gonna let anything happen to Ayla? Fitz and Jemma alone would destroy the whole neighborhood. Come on, I got our costumes.”
Peggy did not like that grin on Steve’s lips but otherwise agreed.
And she was right, she did not like that grin. Nor did she like Steve painting a giant pumpkin on her otherwise large belly and helping her into an orange bodysuit with the belly stretched out to help her. It did support her belly some, so she couldn’t complain too much of the annoying, harsh color.
Though, Steve dressed as a scarecrow Captain America did bring out some laughs when he stepped out into the communal living room with Peggy in tow.
Clint snorted into his bowl of popcorn, dropping it and falling off of the couch. “You two look -”
“Nu-uh,” Bucky breathed, laying his feet up on Clint’s shoulders now that he was on the floor. “Last time you said something about Peggy’s appearance, I got the shoe chucked at my head. Go have fun you two. Don’t be past midnight.”
“We won’t be past ten if my feet have anything to say about it,” Peggy sighed, letting Steve lead her out. “I think you look adorable,” she told him, squeezing his hand.
“You’re only saying that because you had to stuff my hat full of hay,” Steve laughed. “Well, I think you do too. Maybe if you’re up to it tonight…” He pulled her close and pressed a long kiss to that spot under her ear, making Peggy sigh.
She only smacked his chest a minute later when three familiar figures walked towards them. “Steven, stop! Come on, we can’t keep a lady in waiting. Maybe Michael will settle as we walk. He’s been doing jumping jacks in there ever since this morning.”
“Auntie!” The shrill laugh of Ayla carried over the distance, the little girl running to them and hugging Peggy around her middle, careful of her belly. “How’s Mikey? When is he coming out?”
Peggy laughed and tossed the little girl’s hair. “Hopefully soon. Maybe he’ll share a birthday with you,” she teased, making Ayla giggle.
In the light of the street, they could see the FitzSimmons family’s outfits and Steve was glad he had the paint on his face to hide the flush on his skin.
It was clear Ayla had been dressed to mimic her Auntie Daisy and was demonstrating her ‘power’. Jemma’s outfit is what made Peggy laugh the most. Only because now she understood her questions on styles of clothes in the ’40s.
Jemma had dressed just as she had on her first day of the SSR office after the war - the red hat, blue dress, even the heels. And Fitz for his part dressed like Steve in the old monkey-suit uniform.
“You two look...adorable,” Steve commented, causing Fitz’s ears to turn a shade red.
“Yeah, well when you lose a bet to Sousa...” He kicked at a rock and turned to pick Ayla up, putting her on his shoulders. “I wanted the monkey.”
“Fitz,” Jemma sighed, rolling her eyes fondly. “And you two look adorable. How’s the pregnancy, Miss-Peggy.”
Walking side by side, it was easier to fall into a conversation, Steve listening to Jemma and Peggy talk about the pregnancy, how Michael was a few days overdue and it felt more like weeks. Jemma’s advice on how to ‘hurry things along’ didn’t go amiss. He knew Peggy was eager to get him out of there.
Fitz talked about things they did while they were gone. How Sousa and Daisy were due to come home today but had to stay an extra week with Mack, tying up loose ends. He promised how they all would end up together for Thanksgiving.
“Good, because I know Tony wasn’t done yelling at Coulson,” Steve snorted, rolling his eyes as he watched Ayla run back from a house with a fistful of candy.
--
It was nearing ten by the time they’d left the last house. Jemma had changed the heels for sneakers and carried Ayla in her arms. Steve had been carrying Peggy on his back for the last block and loved her sleepy breath on the back of his neck.
“I think it’s time to head back,” he whispered to the pair, nudging Fitz’s shoulder gently. “They’re tuckered out.”
“Yours included,” Fitz whispered, watching Peggy bury her face into his neck. “Did you try the ginger tea I told you about?”
“It did wonders for nausea, yes, thank you.”
“I can hear you two talking about me,” Peggy grumbled into Steve’s shoulder. “Steve put me down. I can walk. I-”
Her words were cut off by the sound of something wet splashing onto the ground, soaking the back of Steve’s legs. “Oh no, Steve. Put me down now. Right now.”
They found an unattended grassy hill and Steve eased his wife down, lowering her to the ground. He shared a panicked, uneasy look with the other two, digging into his pocket and tossing a pair of keys to Fitz.
“Go get the jeep, call Bruce and tell him Peggy’s water broke, he needs -”
“There is no time,” Peggy whispered, squeezing Steve’s bicep tightly. “Michael wants to come out now. Jemma, darling, I know-”
“I got this,” she told Peggy in a firm voice, handing their daughter off to Fitz. “Still, go get Mr. Banner. We need his hand in this if there is time. Take Ayla home, have Bucky put her to bed. Steve, I need you…”
--
Peggy and Jemma were right, there was no time. Michael wanted to be born and be born right now.
That’s how in no less than an hour, with Fitz just pulling back up with a frantic Bruce Banner, Michael James Rogers-Carter was born. Wrapped up in Steve’s shirt, screaming his head off for anyone around them to hear.
Bruce deemed him healthy as they got Peggy into the jeep and everyone back home. Hours later, Steve would lay in the bed with wife and child between them, watching him suckling on the ghost-themed pacifier.
Peggy’s smile couldn’t be washed off for anything, stroking the tuft of blonde hair back from Michael’s face. “We have a little pumpkin after all.”

Hi love! What about 2 + 44 for the tropes mashup (because I've always been SUCH a fan of royalty AUs, lol.)
2 = Royalty AU, *43 = Dance of Romance
I absolutely love this prompt Lily! Disclaimer if you like authentic historical stories, this is not that. It’s more fairy tale royalty fluff. So, I hope you like it!
Daisy knew her entire life she would one day be married. Her parents had brushed it off for years. Now, with the kingdom at war, they needed more resources. Coulson and May wanted the best for Daisy, it was hard enough she was being forced to marry someone. They had met with a handful of kingdoms to find a prince, and they did find one. Now how do they tell Daisy?
For the past eighteen, well seventeen years she turned eighteen in a few days, she lived in blissful denial. Daisy spent the days with her best friend Jemma in the library. Jemma was the daughter of a member of the king’s court.
“Are you excited for your birthday party?” Jemma asked with a wide smile. Daisy looked up from the book she was reading and smiled back. How could she not be excited? A masquerade ball for her eighteenth birthday.
“I’m ecstatic, but I overheard the servants talking. My parents found a prince from a wealthy kingdom for me to marry.” Daisy's tone turned somber as she thought of being married off. Jemma reassured her by reminding her of her overprotective parents. Daisy knew deep down her parents would never marry her to someone old and cruel. Yet, fear found its way into her mind. She gave Jemma a smile and hid behind her book.
When the day came, the castle was filled with people dressed in fine clothing. Their faces covered by the colorful masks. Daisy stood off to the side in her pale pink dress, face covered by a golden-colored mask. She turned to the tables and picked up a spoon, looking at her reflection. She quickly adjusted her crown, smiling at the small daisies Jemma had placed in her hair.
“A beautiful girl like you shouldn’t be standing alone.” The voice rang out behind her. Daisy fumbled with the spoon until it hit the ground. She slowly turned around to face the source of the voice that startled into dropping the spoon. He immediately apologized for scaring her, Daisy rambled about how she was always clumsy and it was bound to happen. Daisy couldn’t see much of his face, what she could see was his blue eyes contrasting the black mask. His blonde hair was a shade of gold in Daisy’s eyes. He extended a hand to her asking for a dance. Daisy didn’t know why she said yes, she was the biggest klutz and she didn’t even know his name! Did that stop her? No, she was pulled onto the dance floor as the next song was played.
“Where are you from?” She asked while they danced, looking down before she had the chance to step on his feet. He explained he came from the Northern kingdom by invitation. At this point, Daisy figured out he didn’t know she was the princess and she intended to keep it that way. He seemed sweet and didn’t bother with the formalities she hated. She looked up to meet his eyes and froze. She had never met a man that made her heart beat this quickly. Her stomach felt like it was doing summersaults. Daisy should have never stopped paying attention to her feet.
“I am so, so sorry!” She said quickly once they both registered the fact that she did stop on his foot. He told her several times that it was fine and she had nothing to worry about. Daisy, being the stubborn person she is, pulled him off the floor and off to a non-crowded area. She started apologizing over and over again just for him to say it was fine. He reached back and unfastened the mask.
“I’m Lincoln, we never got formally introduced.” He said smiling at her. Daisy untied the ribbon that held her mask. Lincoln gave a small gasp once he realized who she was.
“Daisy, princess Daisy.” She said with a small curtsey. Before he could say anything else, Daisy’s parents butted into the conversation.
“Darling, there you are! We wondered where you went off to.” Coulson said with a wide smile. It only got wider when he saw Lincoln with Daisy. The pair stood silently looking between the younger, soon to be couple. Daisy stared back at her parents in utter confusion.
“Well, you two seem to be acquainted.” May said with a smaller smile that Coulsons. He was always the dramatic one. Daisy always saw them as the perfect pair. They complimented each other in a way Daisy hoped to have with someone one day have.
“Acquainted?” She eventually asked, breaking the silence. While the room was bursting with life, the corner felt tense and quiet.
“Daisy this is Prince Lincoln from the Northern kingdom. Since the war between the Shield and Hydra kingdom has shown no promise of being resolved. We-” Coulson started to say. Daisy swiftly cut him off, informing both her parents she knew about the married and wasn’t upset about it. Now it was time for them to be confused. She reached back, taking Lincoln's hand with a smile. He gently kissed the top of her hand.
“Princess, may I have this dance?” Daisy was the one to pull him onto the dance floor as an answer. Daisy never doubted her parents choice, well at first yes, now no. Lincoln lifted her into the air, spinning her around for a brief moment before placing her back onto the ground. She explained that she couldn’t make any promises about stepping on his feet. All he could do was laugh at his future wife. Daisy was already in love with that laugh and it all started with a dance.

The Fosters
So I just rewatched all 5 seasons of The Fosters. Wow! What an emotional rollercoaster. I forgot just how many tear jerker moments there are. And after watching the series finale for the second time, I realized that my opinion has not changed:
The ONLY part of the ENTIRE finale that I disliked was that Jesus and Emma were not endgame. Whether you liked that couple or not, they were still the second most committed couple after Stef and Lena. And in the show’s timeline, they were together for SIX+ years!! Junior Year, Senior Year, the 4 years after high school. And they survived SO much together!! Emma’s abortion, Jesus’s TBI, a long distance relationship. I REALLY think the writers made a mistake with that one.
Other than that I really, really liked the finale!
* I liked Brandon’s wife. I liked the way she stood up to her parents. I loved the backstory of how they met.
* I liked that Callie herself told Brandon that he really loves Eliza and that he should marry her.
* I liked how Stef runs a non-profit child welfare agency and shelter for homeless families and abused women. I liked that Lena was both on the public school board as well Principal of Anchor Beach. And I liked Lena deciding to run for a higher spot on the board.
* I was happy to hear that Mike and Anna were expecting a baby, knowing that they’d been married for 5 years before they added a new member to their family.
* I liked that Callie and Aaron were still great friends.
* I liked Mariana choosing herself in the end and not a boy.
* I liked getting a glimpse into Wyatt’s future and knowing that he was okay and has future prospects.
* I loved Jude coming clean to his moms and still being that vulnerable little boy.
* I liked Callie choosing the job closer to Jude. Especially since towards the end of Season 4 and on, the Callie and Jude relationship got less and less prominent. (I still CANNOT get over how there was no Callie and Jude interaction in the school shooting episode. Callie not immediately rushing to Jude’s side when she saw him? Callie standing off to the side worrying about her moms knowing about Brandon instead of interacting with Jude? That was the most out of character Callie has ever been written in an episode.)
I’m glad I decided to rewatch the show. It reminded me of just how beautiful and powerful the show was! But again, I’m really disappointed that the show ended things between Jesus and Emma.
Did anyone else in the world agree with me? Is there anyone else that truly liked the finale other than Jemma’s fate? Please let me know if there is. 😂

Fitzsimmons Family Headcanons in case canon fails me
And before they destroy them. Buckle up.
(I wrote this in less than an hour and english is not my first language, sooo sorry for any mistakes)
Enjoy! (Gift credit: X)
They finally decide to retire to their cottage.
Daisy and May lived with them for a while but a different times. Daisy around the time their first kid was born and May when the youngest was a kid already.
May and Daisy eventually live together in the USA.
Fitzsimmons started a biomedical company, they make prostetics and medical supplies. They fund small researchers and become relatively known in the medical field (under aliases of course). They run their company from their home as much as they can.
Deke got bored of his company, so he eventually fused it with FS’s, he has enough money to travel the world and be whatever he wants. Once was a TV chef, and he got bored and became a travel blogger, then launched a clothing line so it goes…
Fitzsimmons have three kids, they were all planned ;) of course
Daisy teases Fitz about how the three of them look like Jemma. “You are adopted”. the son is the only one who kinda looks like him.
After the kids go their own ways they leave together again.
They never asked Deke about their daughter’s name in the original timeline, but once they told him, they knew it was this. (but in the lighthouse timeline her nickname was Kenzie)
Fitz was really adamant on this name, Jemma thought it was cute and a great way to honor their best friends, but years later he told the kid:
“you were named after two of the bravest persons I’ve ever met”.
Jemma just stared into the space as it dawned in her that her husband was really an idiot.
He winked at her and she forgave him. Eventually.
When she was a toddler Fitzsimmons moved back to the city and left their cottage, they wanted their daughter to have the best education and also didn’t want to wake her up early because the closest school was still an hour away.
Daisy found Bobbi, they met up, and Bobbi introduced her to her baby son Owen.
“oh my god. I need to call Fitzsimmons”
“what”
“shhhh. Hey guys! Look who is here! Bobbi and her baby Owen Shaw”
Fitz spits his tea all over his phone. Bobbi doesn’t know what is going on, and they eventually explain it to her, after Daisy stops laughing and Fitz stops coughing.
Some weekends Fitz and Hunter take the babies to the park together, while Jemma and Bobbi worked or hung out together.
Really close to Deke, sometimes travels with him. They are kindred spirits. Feel like only them understand the need to explore and try new things.
She grew up to resent shield. Look she loves what her parents and their friends did, but hates how it affected them. Forgive and forget? in this economy??
Lives in Paris but somehow always manages to get everyone to come to her art exhibits. Does everything she sets her mind into.
Doesn’t want kids, maybe one day if she feels ready she will adopt but she is happy as an aunt.
Matthew Phillip Fitzsimmons (Matthew) (Born 2030)
Ray of sunshine, Momma’s boy. His favorite thing is when his parents take him to their lab.
(The babies' baby’s baby, i cry). The cousins are thick as thieves.
May loves the kid, “age is making you softer”, Daisy tells her and laughs, May’s glare while holding a baby is too much.
Emma Johnson (born 2029)
All I can imagine is a scene where the are all together in a field, May, Fitzsimmons and Daisy (probably the same one where they buried Coulson and Loop!Fitz) They try to meet up there at least once a year to chat and reminisce about old times, sometimes with Deke, Mack and Elena (and their twin boys) or just them.
The end
