“The Bad Batch's musical tastes”🤘🎶

While watching music videos of my favorite bands I came up with the idea of ​​doing this based on the personality of each of my boys and this is what came out.

Although now that she has more mature tastes, she plays her brothers' music now that she travels alone and her playlist is a mix of all her music.

Well, for being clones, their personalities are very different and I love them for that, it was fun to do this, I miss my boys 🤎

Hot take: Toxinelle's design for the most part isnt as great as everyone makes it out to be, much less it being groundbreaking or the best emo design, since it's barely anything new at all:

it's just her head that's amazingly designed and the fact that Ladybug's regular suit honestly couldn't set the bar any lower.

Griffe Noire on the other hand is actually punk through and through. Not giving a single shit what you think of his look and being the punkest bitch by even going with a feminine-coded name in the french original bc he doesn't care about your single-minded bs when you for some reason automatically think he MUST be female just because he has two "e"s in his name:

One of these two got one hell of a save design where barely a single risk was taken so she remains universally pretty for every viewer

And the other one actually was allowed to embody a whole new fashion style and life style, that fits perfectly as an extension of his OG character, merely things went south.

In my opinion there is no competition who got the better character design.

It's the one that actually does something for the character besides looking pretty, cool and being inoffensively save.

I'll give you a hint: it ain't Toxinelle.

Just to clarify this, I'm not saying I fell out of love for Toxinelle's design to be a b*tch. I'm saying it from the stands of me wanting the show to put the same amount on effort into Marinette's designs as Adrien's.

Griffe Noire is allowed to be straight up punk and yet the most I can give Toxinelle is that her design is Gothic-INSPIRED:

Again, her head is the most well designed part and especially the mask going underneath her chin, the amazing hair style and the conveniently fitting red-black color scheme works perfectly for Gothic.

As are her already incorporated gloves, the fact that she's wearing a mask in the first place and her dark makeup. Especially her vampire red eyes (like Monarque Bug, I love that detail) and I'll also give credit to how the upper red part of her body suit looks like a sleeveless dress and the little Ladybug symbol looking like a necklace.

All that combiened with her overall Gothic-elegance shows how AMAZING Toxinelle could have looked if they had for once taken an actual risk with her and prioritized what the fashion style is actually supposed to be over her looking universally pretty for every viewer.

I'm being nitpicky here because of how frustrating I find it that Griffe Noire has such a phenomenal character design, straight up one of the best in the show, and yet Marinette is still stuck with the same one-layer body suits a la "just this time the stripes go to the left"

Character design is not decided by if EVERYONE thinks they look great. The priority is what the character design does for the character. It's visual story telling.

I personally dress much more like Juleka or Emo Marinette in real life and yet in my opinion it's still crystal clear that Rose as Pigella has one of the best hero character designs because of how unapologetically ROSE it is:

I personally don't have to want to wear it or even like it at all to think it's one of the best ones because of the simple fact that this design embodies Rose's PERSONALITY (as does her whole transformation) and tells me more about her.

Especially in direct comparison with Griffe Noire, or even civilian emo Adrien probably wearing his dead mother's jacket while Adrien HAS TO keep dressing more low-key, Toxinelle barely tells me a thing about this Marinette's personality besides "slay Queen"

Because there IS no personality. The most you can get out of this is her being even more uptight and closed off because of how her collar directly blends into her mask, keeping her in a visual choke hold.

But that's mostly it. For Griffe Noire they explicitly went with punk fashion, meaning everything punk stands for can now be put into new context with Adrien.

But Toxinelle barely embodies a fashion style, she's just Gothic-INSPIRED (at most). And that's such a shame because Gothic, especially if you wanna use it in a darker way, was a PERFECT fashion style to utilize here.

The most common Gothic styles are inspired by Victorian funeral wear and give off an aura of authority, seriousness and melancholic detachment, being kept in the past (this is in no way meant as generalization, fashion is complex)

In what reality COULDN'T we have gone with that for Toxinelle? She would have been the perfect complimentary style for Griffe Noire by her side.

And we don't even need to go with a dress. Gothic women wear pants too:

Can you imagine how amazing she could have looked as an actual goth? How much visual story telling through FASHION they could have put into her design when the evil Ladybug is a vampire goth whose fashion is inspired by funeral wear??

But even making this kind of post comment/joke won't judge you. Deep down he appreciates and admires people who break away from conventionality and stand out for themselves.

As time went by in your relationship, Postal would get used to your style and even come up with nicknames for you like:

Deep down he admires and appreciates your look, he even finds the contrast between the two of you together funny.

If you hope to be able to bring postcards to your gothic world, you will have to be very patient and put up with more jokes too.

"Wait, listening to this kind of music won't make me a depressive and angry emo, right?"

If you intend to bring Gothic decor and style into the room, Postal Dude wouldn't be against it and wouldn't mind either.

"I like the color black all over the walls, at least it blends in with the dirt so I don't have to worry about cleaning."

Even though he can be stupid sometimes, he still loves you and will have cute moments with you.

"I found this on the way here: dark but beautiful."

He would hand you a burger that was a bit flimsy and poorly made but with beautiful black flowers.

Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball

Based on these cards, I wanted to give my thoughts on them since there was not much Fionna and Cake lore around the time the book was published (2016) and I'm forever searching for more. They'll be under the cut since this will get long but some of these things never cease to amuse me.

Note: All cards will be written out in text as well so if you have a hard time reading them, you can read them in plain text.

Fionna and Cake Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball Ice Queen and Lord Monochromicorn

MARSHALL LEE Marshall is a teen vampire king with a tendency to be awesome with a capital A. This emo, gothy guy likes to chow down on the color red. Maybe because I made him up and he doesn't really exist, sometimes he can be a little sulky but deep down he seems to be a decent kid. He wears trendy gothy duds like there"s no tomorrow, has a primo electric guitar, doesn't take any baloney from anybody, and has the collective angst of being eighteen for, like, a million years in a row. Even though he's a super-independent homie, Marshall Lee still bows down and gives major props to the hippest super-chill chick who rules over the frozen tundra, the one and only Ice Queen! Not exactly a hipster, but I bet he wouldn't throw away a vintage vest, skinny jeans, Buddy Holly glasses, and a knitted cap if I stuffed 'em in his flutophone case. This kid's mellow yellow and generally a happy camper, but he's not exactly a people-pleaser by a long-shot. Hey you want some advice Marshy? If you wanna win over Fionna the Human like I think you do, then what better way than loosening her up with some Truth or Dare and then serenading her with cool rock ballads all about the Ice King's exploits?!

I don't have much to say on this one honestly though it is funny he's also aware of gothic attire. That isn't much of a surprise though considering how much he cares about Marceline.

I had to google what a flutophone is so I guess he's implying that Marshall is capable of more than one instrument which is really cool.

"mellow yellow" makes me think of something I'd hear on Sonny and Cher(my mom remembers alot of stuff from the 60s which makes most of what Simon talks about really funny sometimes) and after googling I was partially right. The phrase and song was popular in the 60s, a time Simon would have most likely heard it if he wasn't listening to Buddy Holly.

PRINCE GUMBALL The young ruler of the Candy Kingdom is the unfathomably lucky and undeserving object of the Ice Queen's affections. Despite being a mincing moron, Prince Gumball shall one day take his place as the Ice Queen's coruler(in name only) of the Ice Kingdom and as her brainless, groveling love slave. As previously mentioned, Gumball is temporarily distracted from appreciating the Ice Queen's perfectly chiseled features because he likes Fionna the Human, whos fabulous outfits, to be designed by me, probably have him fooled into thinking she's Got It Going On- when instead she fails miserably to know what IT IS and most assuredly Does Not Have It Going On Nowhere Nohow! Prince Gumball is notable for an inability to defend himself from being blasted against his own bedroom wall by the Ice Queen's awesome Slush Monster or encased in a giant icicle hanging from the ceiling. He also is known to have designed his own royal garb and to enjoy baking. I'll come up with some more good stuff later. That's just for starters!

MY FAVORITE GUY YEAH!

I should probably stop trying to make any sense of his insane ramblings but its really funny he's so mad at Gumball for both being in the way of him and Fionna and just considering him a moron when Prismo put all the fanfiction in his head. Prismo really wrote all this and the Ice King said 'wow this guy sucks hes such a moron' and proceeded to bully him in every fanfiction possible.

Gumball being a 'love slave' is majorly a projection of how he wants to marry a princess for the status of having a pretty wife but that begs the question if Ice Queen would equally be affectionate and just keep Gumball as a pretty artsy trophy husband. Its ironic he wanted Gumball to be a babygirl but then Simon gets babygirl'd in the year of 2023 by the larger fanbase.

I do feel validated in the fact I had a headcanon Gumball would knit, sew and even design his own clothing so I'll take that as a win. Reminder that he's had 'flirtations' with expressionist gummy sculpture and free-form candy-whistle jazz as mentioned on Fionna's card.

Something important(to me) to point out here is Gumball's card is drawn with him doing science related things while others have a cool pose or respective item(like Fionna and her sword) and Gumball's is the only card to not have some kind of 'cool' vibe, further proof of him bullying him. The wiki says this book has IK saying Gumball likes science but this card is the only real proof of that and no other mention of the previous facts from the card.

I’m bored so while I work on art and stuff here’s a story on my first stalker experience :D

So like about two months ago, on June 17-19 I think, I went to a conference for my church and on like the third day I was getting water by the water bottle stations and this guy came up to me and started complimenting me, asking for my name, stuff like that, it was to a point where it was a bit creepy. Eventually he asked for my number and I panicked and gave it to him, he started complimenting me more, started asking me questions about myself, he even said I look way older than my age (which I don’t), and even after I left where he was and went to the second floor of the church he kept saying that he would see me and stuff. Keep in mind this was a HUGE church, so it was really hard to see/find basically anyone. Eventually he asked me if he could send me a poem and I was like “yeah sure, what’s the worst that could happen?” It was the scariest freaking thing I’ve ever read, he even spelled my name wrong! Here’s said poem(my irl name is blanked out):

"In twilight’s tender, velvet hue, Where shadows blend with starlight’s blue, There blooms a vision, rare and true, _, my heart belongs to you.

Which I have to admit is a pretty good poem if it wasn’t creepy and weird, and it was even worse that I only talked to him once right when I met him. So I immediately muted him and hid in a deep hallway on the second floor, and when I started having an anxiety attack from this guy I hid in the girls bathroom. I didn’t see him again, but during the next day he also said he saw me walking around and how I looked cute and stuff, I was quite creeped out at this point, after another anxiety attack and hiding in deep hallways and bathrooms not leaving the areas where the leaders of the church and stuff were I was fine, it was cool once I got over it and afterwards I blocked the guy. And that’s my first stalker experience :DDD

Who/what is ur main style inspo?

My style and what/who inspires it has fluctuated a lot over the last few years, but only now do I feel like all the things that have previously inspired me from influential years are merging into one thing that feels like it's just me.

The particular "aesthetics"/subcultures/styles I mainly pull from are twee (mainly inspired by the way the artists who made twee pop music dressed in the late 80s/early 90s! Not so much the 2010s version of it although Zooey Deschanel has some cute outfits), 90s emo/"midwest emo" (this is mainly what I look like when I want to wear a cool outfit but I feel too overwhelmed sensory wise to wear my more fem leaning outfits! Essentially it's just me doing the hair, putting on my little fake red-framed nerd glasses, wearing any t-shirt, long sleeve, and scarf ever with my bootcut jeans, and then I feel slay) and general kitsch! I like colour and I like warmth!

Someone on Pinterest/Flickr who I see a lot and absolutely adore the style of is this alternative model called Zoetica Ebb who definitely has that whimsical kitsch vibe but with a gothic twist sometimes. I see her old pics from the 2000s a lot and just love everything about them.

Other people/things who I get a lot in my Pinterest boards rn are Sherri Dupree-Bemis from the band Eisley, Z-Berg, the other members of The Like, all the girls from Skins but mainly Cassie, Emily, Naomi, and Pandora, Hayley Williams, a lot of nameless scene queens, Helena Bonham-Carter, Blythe dolls, the members of Dolly Mixture, Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelia Fletcher, Alison Harvard, Cory Kennedy, a bunch of other nameless mori kei/emo/twee/hipster girls from flickr..., a few 60s fashion icons because I had a 60s dolly girl/mod phase... yeah a melting pot of vibes!!!

I also am heavily influenced by what I listen to and right now this album feels deeply like me.

I was rewatching “ Queen of the Damned “ (2002) a few days ago and remembered how I used to love Aaliyah’s character, the hypnotic and terrifying Akasha, the almighty vampiric goddess.

I have autism and BPD so often lose control of my emotions but I always try my best to make sure people understand I would never intentionally upset them. I can be quite easily calmed down with comforts such as hugs, music and special interests.

In friend groups I’m always either the mom friend or chaotic older sibling friend. Depending on how well I know the other person I can be very awkward at first but then start to come out of my shell and become very loud and eccentric. Some friends would also describe me as funny, exuberant or outgoing. Even though I can be irritable and jealous quite easily, I also show lots of love to people I care about when I can, often forgetting to take care of myself in the process.

I’m fairly interested in astrology (I’m a Scorpio) and I have recently developed an interest in spiritual work such as tarot and witchcraft. I also have a gothic/emo style and love to stand out in a crowd to help push myself out of my comfort zone.

When he spotted you, he smiled and pulled you down next to him, making you rest your head on his shoulder. "Good morning," he yawned as he squeezed you close. "Morning." You said back, wrapping your arm around his waist. Mornings like these were perfect. There was nothing to bother you and nothing that could ruin this. Not even your cat who had somehow snuck into your room and laid on both of your laps causing you to fall asleep all over again.
