I almost changed Eli’s name because i couldn’t figure out for the life of me what about it was it that was bothering before realizing that it’s because Eli Bennet. Eli(zabeth) Bennet. he’s basically got the name as our good ol’ P&P protag. but the more I thought about it, the more i realized that like… that could legitimately be the reasoning for his name lmfao. he got his well-read-ness from someone, and that’d be his mother, who could have purposely named him that for that exact reason. I would not put it past her. that book would have been out for at least half a decade before Eli came into being, and the lady loves books. we can really only blame her for the way Eli turned out, lol. he definitely shares some personality traits with his namesake.

Theo is 30-something and never grew out of his like… ‘weird reptile/amphibian/etc kid’ stage lmao. he’s like, the best frog catcher you’ve ever met, he has like a preternatural sense for the things. Theo has even been know to like… trail off in the middle of a conversation to go chase down something he saw. he has more facts about snakes and lizards and frogs and turtles (and really most animals) than you ever needed to know, and he WILL show you the cool/gross creature that he found and wonder why you don’t think it’s as fascinating as he does (…unless your name is Jed—Jed makes heart eyes at his weird ass little man over everything).
