You know, reading your anti-stans posts just makes me think that I'm so happy I've never been a "stan" of anything or anyone, lmao. (They're entertaining to read about, though.)
Yeah, I just don't get the artificial competition of it all and what sometimes becomes a really personal-seeming level of investment of being a fan of The Obviously Better One. I'm a fan of both J's and think they're each doing just fine post SPN. But even if I wasn't ... let's do a hypothetical with someone I don't particularly like.
I only really care about GK being a probable failure out of the gate because it very well may leave Misha with no new major projects beyond continuing to bait the minions by sexualizing Jensen/Dean for cash and attention. I don't feel the need to deep dive into comic fan rants or spectate the trailers to mock them. I don't care if his acting in it is great or terrible. I just don't have any burning need to wallow in evaluating all of Misha's projects for questionableness, even to lord it over the minions.
Conversely, if we all fell into some portal to an alternate funhouse mirror universe tomorrow, where Gotham Knights became a wild runaway success that saved the CW and rocketed Misha to superstardom far beyond both Js? No matter how much the minions bragged, I ... would not genuinely care. There are plenty of actors whose success outstrips their talents, what's one more? Hell, it might even mean he would stop being a creepy queerbaiting troll over SPN for attention, which I'd love.
I don't particularly care if he succeeds or fails from here just because he was on the same show as actors I actually like for a while. His success or failure doesn't have anything to do with theirs. I just don't get the mindset.
Which is not to say I'm completely uninvolved and don't sometimes just, say, have to laugh at the minions claiming Misha's undeniably having the most successful post-SPN career because he's done the largest number of projects. But that's more about the stan buffoonery which every group in the fandom has some level of than needing to deride what Misha's up to now that he's not on anything I was already watching.

Cockles Brief Encounter.
They missed each other, you can see it in their grays. (✿◡‿◡)
Let’s not talk about Jensen´s lip tasting when Misha’s mouth is fully shown on the screen. Nothing to see there.

//The thing I always notice about these AA's who jump in and are like "We don't just like him for his looks!!!" is thats all they ever say. They never elaborate, they just make sure to yell about how that's not all they care about ... Its always just "we like him/them for more than their looks!!" and then silence. zero follow-up.//
Not the anon from before, but come on now. There are a million things to like about Jensen, and no one is required to make a list of why they like him. Most people are probably just too lazy to type it all out.
But since I have the time right now, here's my reasons why I like him (and I imagine most people you accuse of not having good reasons to like him apart from his looks would have similar lists):
- he's genuinely kind (stated many, many times by his friends, large numbers of people who have worked with him, including people like make-up artists etc and not just the ones actively trying to promote a show. also experienced that for myself firsthand)
- he's good with kids (observed from afar and experienced that firsthand as well)
- loves animals
- is very professional and hard working according to numerous people
- has a great sense of humor. I absolutely love his dry sense of humor and he always manages to make me laugh during panels and so on
- his great comedic timing
- his impeccable behavior towards female actor colleagues and women in general, hence why he was one of the very few male actors who had positive stories shared about him by various women during "me too"
- his acting skills and style of acting. jensen always manages to bring the emotions out of me, something which only very few actors can
- his singing and his voice. he's a good singer and song writer; I really enjoy listening to jensen's voice and his and steve's music
-  his fashion sense and style choices
-  his generousity, which has also been described by numerous people
- his goofy, playful side, which is always a joy to watch when it comes out
- the gentle and caring way he interacts with his friends, like jared, rob or jdm (and also nervous fans, children, ...)
- his views and opinions on various issues, which I share/agree with
- the thoughtful, interesting and in-depth answers he gives to good questions during cons
- various small details and idiosyncracies you start to notice about a person with time, like the endearing way jensen bites his tongue when he's genuinely happy/laughing, for example
- how he creates postive, comfortable environments for the people he works with
- how he is always the person that people rely on during crises/emergencies and who manages to keep calm and take appropriate actions (as told in various stories by jared, misha, rob...)
- that he actually knows his way around cars and is a good handymen
- the numerous moving and heart-warming stories I've read from fans (and other people) about jensen over the years
- the sensitivity and vulnerability underneath the mask that he doesn't always manage to hide
- his oft remarked-upon patience
- how he elevated the character of dean way beyond what he was originally intended to be and crafted him into one of my favorite fictional characters of all time
... and I could go on, but this is already too long. The man has tons of qualities that I can admire and appreciate or find endearing. Jared is not the one-dimensional villain hellers paint him as, but Jensen is also not the one-dimensial asshole Jared stans paint him as.
I've been in this fandom since season 3, and if there's one thing I know for certain it's that both Jensen and Jared are pretty damn great guys, and I'd count myself lucky if even a fraction of the men around me were as decent as they are.
Never fails. The Jensen defense squad strikes again. You know, you could just block certain tags, block my blog and avoid my blog entirely if you don't agree with or like the opinions shared on my blog, either by myself, or my anons.
I appreciate that you sort of , tried to, remain respectful (though there's enough aggressive language that I'm not convinced). I may not agree with all of your points, but I do know that people are not one-dimensional. And personally, I don't think Jared fans paint Jensen that way because I feel there are a lot of legitimate criticisms, particularly regarding his actions and words this past year, but I have a feeling on that point we're going to have to agree to disagree. (And if you happen to read more of my blog, you'll see that there are times I've defended him as well from overzealous fans.)

Story time again
Tumblr media
The JIB8 J2M airbnb story is full of holes and incoherence. But this analysis and the pictures of the supposed house put together somehow filled the blanks for me and it became one of those OMG moments with chills down my spine. It became clear as day that Misha and Jensen shared a bed. It very well could have been just a platonic practical arrangement which, while telling the story, got Jensen panicking “what if people think we had sex in that bed” and he tried to change the story so that he was in a different room… and failed. Then of course that made people think that if he is so eager to hide something, it has to mean they had sex… Poor Jensen.
But I like to think of it as a Cockles story. Here it is.
*****************************************
They were supposed to tell an innocent funny story of three friends spending time in a rental house. Somehow the story got weird and Jensen realizes it was pretty much his own fault. Sometimes when he's worried about revealing too much, he ends up saying terribly revealing things... like Freudian slips. Why did he bring up the bedroom situation? As if they would rent a house without knowing how many bedrooms there were? The audience didn’t know that there were only two bedrooms and that the big bedroom had one king size bed and the small bedroom bunk beds for kids. The audience didn’t suspect (yet) that it was supposed to be a romantic getaway. So talking about the bedrooms was unnecessary. Now that he thinks of it, Jared started the story just fine. A big house Misha rented and where they all stayed. Then they could have skipped the awkward sleeping arrangements part of the story altogether and just tell about Jared's shenanigans in the morning. But yeah, it ended up being a weird mess of a made up version of how it all went. Oh well. Not the first time they have given the shippers something to fuss about. (Or the last; the very next day Nesnej took over his panel with Misha with the underbear spectacle.)
But the memory of staying in that beautiful rental house is precious for Jensen although the memory of talking about it isn’t so much. He and Misha decided to rent a house near the set not just for convenience but also to stay there over the weekend after shooting. The house was amazing. The mountain view from the terrace was breathtaking but the bedroom was even more so. It was huge and it had a tub in the middle. When they saw the pictures they realized that that’s where they would spend most of their time in.
Tumblr media
On their first day they would arrive at the house after the midnight so they needed to get the keys before shooting. Jensen offered to meet the host of the house early in the morning and throw their bags in and at the same time play some golf at a nearby course. There wouldn’t be a chance for that later. Misha doesn't play golf and they had other plans for their stay. When he met Misha at the set in the afternoon he was so happy to tell him the house was everything they had hoped and more.
During the long day of shooting they realized that Jared was not feeling well so they invited him to stay with them for the night. They couldn’t let him drive home alone. Jensen and Misha would have plenty of time just for themselves later. They figured Jared could stay in the spare bedroom. Of course when they arrived at the house they realized that Jared wouldn’t comfortably fit in the ridiculous bunk beds. Jensen and Misha tried not to laugh when Jared tried to cram himself in one of the beds. Jared wasn’t on a joking mood. They made a very nice bed for him on the floor next to the bunk beds with all of four mattresses. And very soon, after just one glass on wine Jared fell half dead on the mattresses and started shaking the house with his snoring. Jensen and Misha heard the snoring in their beautiful master bed room but it didn’t really bother them. They stayed up and enjoyed some more wine, the bathtub and each other for quite some time.
Jared was the first one up the next morning. He felt better. You could tell that from the childish goofing-around energy he suddenly had. It probably absorbed from the kiddie bedroom during the night. Jensen and Misha were now tired. Jensen was just getting up when the phone rang. Jared answered it without thinking. And for a moment he talked like someone actually meant to call him. Maybe someone from the set? It was sort of too late when Misha realized that Jared was messing around and the call wasn’t for him/them. Some wrestling and yelling and glass breaking ensued. That whole thing was good wake up entertainment for Jensen. Later Jared said that at first he really did think it was for him because the caller asked for Jared. When he realized it was another Jared (the host of the house) he just decided to go on pretending to be the assumed Jared. Who does that? Well, Jared does. When they told the story at the panel Jared wanted everyone to think it was a prank all along. Saying that the owner’s name was Virgil took out that aspect of his momentary honest confusion.
While Jensen and Misha were in the shower, Jared ended up watching gay porn with some steamy shower sex (which of course Jared found extremely hilarious given the situation). Because he was bored (and Jared), he started fiddling with the remote control and just happened to make a yearly subscription for the porn channel. For no reason. Just to see if he could. After the shower (sex) and the argument Misha and Jared got into about the subscription, those two actually sat down and watched the gay porn, now that it was payed for. That was a bit too much for Jensen, and he stayed in another room and read a book while waiting for Cliff. Still, it felt nice that they had that level of comfortable normalcy about it all. His brother Jared and his lover Misha.
Jensen loves going back to that house in his mind. He even loves the idea of people maybe guessing what it all was about. But what he loves most is that there is the most intimate thing no-one will never know about. Not even Danneel or Vicky. It’s just theirs, his and Misha’s. The pure bliss that was witnessed only by the misty mountains.
The messed up story at the panel actually emphasized that it's him that is the most not normal about it all still. Afterwards they had a long discussion with Misha about what he is so afraid of. Jensen isn't sure what it is. He just knows that he is not there yet, maybe never will be. Misha understands. He always does.
