i bought the cutest pair of brown trousers today they're like really dark bordering black (still light enough to be brown but very dark) and they're like kind of formal looking and they have like a really tiny tiny checkered patterning on them. im sure there's a term for this style of trouser but im forgetting it. either way, i feel like a little english boy, which i am. i also bought the cutest green-grey knit jumper. it's like a ribbed pattern on the torso and just plain knit on the arms so it's like a sweater vest with arms. it's so fun!!!!!!

Why do people act like repeating outfits is a bad thing? Im going to wear the clothes I like a lot. That’s kind of why I bought them.
Don’t get me wrong if you have a large wardrobe and most/all of your clothes are sustainably sourced that’s so cool. But I’m poor and id rather repeat an outfit than buy from places like shein.
Most of the clothes are second hand (and were probably cheaper and better quality than if I got them from shein or somewhere like that) but I’d still prefer to have fewer outfits that I like and wear a lot than spend loads of money on clothes I wouldn’t wear much.
#I love charity shops#they are so much better than any other type of shop#fuck fast fashion#forever hating on shein#serial outfit repeater

various image of the current yowl (Yonny bowl) setup and the one i put him in for literally one night before moving him to the current yowl. now home to my dice. never got a photo of him in the little yowl but, rest assured, it wasn't very good. had to remove most of the gravel to keep the water level down... it was sad
and here's the old setup. small. cramped. no airflow. had to use two paintbrushes like chopsticks to fish him out for water changes/to move him around a little (it's good for them i promise they form on the bottom of lakes and become balls because of being moved around) but i do slightly miss being able to pick up the bottle and take him wherever i want. might have to set up the bottle again but only to do that again. we watched films together
i got a marimo (marino? idk) moss ball the other week and i've dedicated my life to looking after him. his name is Yonny and i got him in a corked glass bottle with some blue gravel at the bottom and 2 pretty décor rocks but i had a lecture on fish biology and learned about the nitrogen cycle and i got worried that the corked bottle was bad for him so i moved him to a bowl. it's a very small cut glass bowl that i've had for years and it was too shallow to house him comfortably so today i went back to the same charity shop where i got the first bowl and brought a new one for £2.50 and cleaned it up (it was a fucking mess) and i've added three more rocks that i got off the beach (they've been out of water for months they should be safe to put in there.. right?) and to cut this long story short:
this ball of alge masquerading as moss is living it's best life right now
#chatter#mom was unhappy with the charity shop shenanigans (she doesnt like them for some reason?) but i had a GREAT time#they even had some pink depression glass in there. if i had a little more money i would have brought it#it was gorgeous... ahhh the depression glass.... i hope whoever takes it home really loves it because it was a lovely little bit of glass#just a little pot with a lid. mom didn't seem to enjoy my history lesson much but i think that was just charity shop blues#shes under the impression that its all stuff from dead people i think#which.. well yeah probably#but what does it matter? theres glass and clothes for cheap! and it saves it going in landfill! who give a fuck!#i love charity shops

The Princess Royal visits a Save the Children shop in Wandsworth
Published 22 February 2024
The Princess Royal, as Patron of Save the Children UK, visited the charity's 'Mary's Living and Giving' shop in Wandsworth, as it celebrates 10 years since its opening.
The Princess Royal has paid a special visit to 'Mary's Living and Giving' shop in Wandsworth, where Her Royal Highness thanked volunteers and staff for their ongoing work to raise money for Save the Children.
Save the Children aims to help every child get the chance of a future they deserve. In more than 100 countries, including the UK, the charity works to ensure children stay safe, healthy and learning – finding new ways to reach children who need it most.
Save the Children has over 90 charity shops in total across the UK. 100% of the profits of items sold go directly to Save the Children’s work in the UK and around the world.
The charity’s Wandsworth shop branch has been running for 10 years and is operated by 35 volunteers. Over the past decade, the shop has raised over £1.2 million through sales for the charity’s work in the UK and around the world.
The Princess Royal first became President of Save the Children UK in 1970, before transitioning to the role of Patron in 2017.
Her Royal Highness has spent a significant amount of time visiting Save the Children projects in the UK and overseas, including places such as Uganda, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Bosnia and Herzegovina and most recently Sri Lanka, which she visited last month to commemorate 50 years of Save the Children operating in Sri Lanka.
#i LOVE charity shopping#you can find so many gems and the proceeds go to such worthy causes#also it’s great to have a declutter of your drawers and wardrobes and donate to the charity shops#which means more space for clothes#and more money for charities!!!#it’s a win win!!!#princess anne#princess royal

it's actually sort of evil that bob dylan records are so affordable in comparison to say a beatles record or records primarily found in the the US like michael nesmith and the band and billy preston. all meager 3 of my george harrison records have cost more than like 5 of my bob dylan records combined. But what this means is NOT that I buy less records but rather that I keep buying bob dylan records. SAD. thankfully I am crazy about bob dylan
#EXCEPT FOR MY SWEET LORD which I got £1 in a charity shop in 2019. live laugh love indeed#emi's meandering jotts#ohhh the day I can buy big pink on vinyl for less than £30....
