i am so ridiculously obsessed with lucky and lonely is the muse as paralleling tracks. despite their wildly differing sounds, they hold similarities in themes. they both talk about the dangers of performance, and the consequences of when that performance becomes your life and your personhood.

but lucky feels overwhelmingly human. it's bitter and it's exhausted and it's sarcastic and it's begging to be heard through the plastic smile and painted face. it's sung by a mother and a patient and a lost child in an adult's body.

and the muse? the muse is a monster. the muse lost its humanity a long time ago, to the selfishness of others and the vanity of itself. even after recognizing its coding, it can't let go of that performance. it's nothing with out it. so even when screaming and crying and vowing vengeance, there's no life to be heard behind the noise anymore. it can only project light and sounds. a demon can't create something anew, it can only rearrange and take from the living. the muse is left clinging to the muscle and viscera that remains within a machine doomed to repeat this loop until there's nothing left to be consumed.

lucky has an abundance of personality despite the horrors it tells of, but the muse is the remnant of something long gone, just an amalgamation of lost emotions and pain left screaming into the void.

I love Halsey. I love Halsey so much. I love them with my very soul and heart and I love that they exist and that I exist with Halsey. And Halsey is literally alive and existing and I get to see it and I love that so much. Because I love Halsey. Did you know that I love Halsey? Halsey did you know I love you?

I know everyone has been saying this about everyone. But this time, for real, No one is doing it like Halsey. Everyone is busy with; looking pretty, paying charts to go viral, making pick me documentaries, pulling other people down in their songs. But she is the one making real 'art' out there. Her music is so genuine, so creative and obviously so good. And of course, the world doesn't like it. I mean isn't that what they said to Camila Cabello. "Copy of xxx" "Trying to copy xxx" and what not. No one thought of the fact that she's writing it for herself, she's not making it for you. Now people are gonna be like, 'But we are the ones listening to the music, and giving them money.' But the song is her feelings, not yours. So of course you're free to criticise. But that's the thing, people don't criticise, they just straight up hate on you (Probably because you're not fake and not crying about your exes 👀)

Halsey's music has always been different. And always a good type of different. She had a different style when she debuted; and even though it sounds so similar yet sounds very different. It's like she's herself a genre.

(And now if you have to say, 'tHen EveRy aRTiSt iS tHeRe owN gEnRe' I don't feel like that so I don't care.)

I know this is gonna be a very controversial take but I feel like (emphasis on the 'I') the music industry was better when male artists dominated. Because some of the female artists that have gone popular now is because they talked about their 'struggles' in their documentaries. Every one has to go through something, you're not special. But the people are so stupid that they're gonna be like, 'Oh My gOd, sHe StrUggLed sO mUch. We LoVe yOu xxx' People don't believe it when a guy talks about their struggles. 'But they can be lying' Well so can she. Have people ever thought of the fact that maybe they're not telling the whole truth, maybe there's more to the story and that's just her part. (And I'm obviously not talking about anyone specific here) I'm kinda fed up of how the bitches are treated by the public. It almost seems like, 'Oh god, she's a woman? I like her because she definitely has a sad past. Oh but the guy has a 'sad past'? Definitely drama lol.' You can't convince me that this is not stupid.

I'm not totally against female artists in the industry, but currently it kinda felt like people only liked them because she's a 'woman'. But on the other hand ignored the other good female artists because they're not  'pick me' enough lol.

Anyway, this is what I have to say. No one has to agree with me (obviously). And no one has to change my mind 'cause I'm allowed to have my views.
