-Embers- (1)
warnings: suggestive, future smut, themes of death
wc: 5.3k
teaser
White specks of paint, scattered across an inky sky - they truly were beautiful. You adjusted yourself on the grassy hill, eyes closing as you tried to calm your nerves. Sighing, you ran your hand over crimson scales, trying to ignore the blinding lights of your village in the distance.
“The stars are beautiful tonight.”
You wished you could stay here forever. Where the only sounds that grace your ears are the deep rumbling snores of the enormous draconian creature you're curled up against. It's a comforting sound, and yet you knew you were going to have to leave soon. Your father would be absolutely enraged if you were late to such an important event- in fact, you were sure he’d have absolutely no qualms killing you in front of the entire village and crowning a broomstick as his heir instead.
Perhaps that's why you delayed the inevitable for a little longer, nuzzling your head against the dragon's hide. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you observed your bustling village from above, frantically getting ready for the festival and the welcoming. People were decorating their houses, painting murals onto their walls and making sure everything was perfect for the guests that would arrive tonight.
The streets were lit up with lanterns, and the people milling about outside their houses were dressed up in their best. The excitement in the atmosphere was palpable, and you could almost feel it from atop the hill.
Sighing, you looked to the side, your eyes meeting enormous yellow ones.
“Aeracus...I know what you’re thinking.” You sighed and curled up your knees to your chest. “And you’re right. I’m nervous, but also excited. I can’t believe we’re going to be seeing him again after all these years. Can you?”
The dragon slowly shook his head from side to side, and you chuckled. “Do you think he’s changed? Or do you think he’s still a feline-obsessed asshole?” You smiled, his laughter ringing in your ears as you reminisced.
Slowly though, the good memories bled into terrible ones. Loss and pain, mingling in your heart and taking over your emotions. The smile disappeared from your face as you remembered what had happened. The reason he left. The reason you weren’t allowed to participate in the championships that were to be a part of the festival’s celebrations...the reason the whole village considered you an outcast, despite being the chief’s daughter.
You swallowed the lump in your throat, pushing your hair back as you slowly stood up, dusting off your tunic. You pressed a kiss to the dragon’s neck, sighing.
“I’m going to go, Aeracus. Honestly, you should be grateful you don’t have to partake in these events.”
The dragon let out a disapproving rumble at that, and your face softened. That was a low blow. After all, it wasn’t his fault that he was forced to to refrain from joining his fellow dragons in the games. No, the blame was to be shared between you and Minho.
The felicity in your heart was intertwined with a faint sense of lingering sorrow. It happened so many years ago, and yet the echoes were still fresh in your mind...
You couldn’t deny that you were desperate to see him again. In fact, saying you were desperate would probably be an understatement. You were thrilled, electrified- and yet, oh so anxious.
You clenched your fists, taking in a deep breath and starting to descend the hill. You’d put it off for long enough.
***
“Children, listen carefully, now.”
The boy next to you didn’t heed the elder’s warning, continuing to draw on the back of his hand.
“Minho! Pay attention, or I will have to call your father.”
Minho looked up, scowling. He placed the chalk down and pursed his lips, directing his attention towards the clay figurines that were laid out in front of the elderly woman. You, as well as the 10 other kids in the cottage, were fascinated by the story being told. The woman was teaching you about your culture, the information you needed to know regarding the upcoming ceremony. It was important, and yet Minho couldn’t bring himself to care. He liked cats more than dragons anyway.
“As I was saying.” She cleared her throat, resuming her lesson.
“Now that you children are 13, you are no longer babies. Certain things are expected of you. You have embarked on your journey to adulthood...and thus, there are certain things you must know. The elements of our village, for one.”
She gestured to the figurines on the dirt floor in front of her. “As you all already know, there are four elements.” She pointed to a spiky pyramid, and then to a smooth sphere. “Ember, Aqua...” Her fingers moved to the next pair- a rough cube and a glassy cone. “...Terra and Aer. These are the symbols of the elements. Of course, you all have already seen the life-sized versions of these in our square.”
Eager nods, making her continue with a pleased smile.
“Every dragon on this planet has a corresponding element that they have control over. They possess immense power, and the ability to command these elements.”
Minho raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Hm, maybe this wasn’t as lame as he’d thought it would be..
“I’m sure you children have seen your parents, older friends and relatives with their dragons.” There was a chorus of agreement, and the woman nodded.
“Well, from next week onwards, you will each have your own dragons. Through the ceremony, you will all be assigned a hatchling, with which you will spend the rest of your life.”
Minho hummed in curiosity as the woman dismissed the class. “Good luck, loves. Remember, there will be a few more classes to brief you further.”
The others started filing out slowly as you turned to Minho. “Isn’t this exciting?” You tilted your head, running your eyes over the figurines. “Since my family are all fire elementals, do you think I’ll get an ember dragon?”
“I don’t think it works that way. My father said it doesn’t matter what family you come from, the dragon you get matched with can be of any element, apparently. Though it hasn’t ever happened yet.” He shrugged.
“Really?”
“Yeah.” He yawned. “I already knew everything she said. I could have used this valuable time for something else.” He was lying, to be honest. The only thing he knew about dragons was what he’d just told you.
“Like what?”
“I don’t know. Do you wanna go to the lake?”
You grinned. “Sure, let’s!” You nodded in agreement as Minho stood up eagerly, grabbing your hand and pulling you out of the cottage. You giggled as he dragged you. “Hey, slow down! Also, we can’t be there for long. We’ve got to be home for that joint dinner, or our fathers will be very mad.”
“Eh, they’d barely notice if we’re gone. When discussing village matters, they don’t give a fuck about their own children, even.” He muttered bitterly.
“Well...that is true.” You sighed as Minho pulled you all the way to the lake, weaving past the villagers, even bumping into some of them. A few of them frowned and made shouts of displeasure, while others didn’t seem to mind. Or maybe they did, and was just too afraid to voice their anger towards the chiefs’ children.
The cottages start becoming more sparse, the trees more tightly clustered. Minho held your hand tightly as you made your way through the woods. Finally, the two of you reached the clearing.
Letting go of your hand gently, Minho sat at the edge of the lake, beckoning you over to sit next to him.
“I wish this place wasn’t so far away from the village.” You sighed, legs aching as you flopped down onto the grass.
Minho shook his head slowly, his fingers fiddling with a tiny dandelion he’d pulled out. “The further away, the better.” He grumbled, blowing on it and watching as the seeds floated in the breeze.
You sighed. There it was, again. You knew better than to oppose him, so you hummed, scooting a little closer and placing your hand on top of his. “I know you want to leave this place. I know you want to...to explore the world. I just want you to know that whatever you decide to do, I’ll be by your side.” You said honestly.
Minho looked up at you. “Really?”
“Yeah.”
He felt like there was a lump in his throat. Minho knew how much this village and its culture meant to you. You were really willing to do that for him? Leave, and never come back?
“Listen here, Miss L/n.” He turned to you, inhaling as he pressed a kiss to your forehead, his lips soft as they brushed against your skin. You blushed, staring at him with wide eyes as he spoke.
“I’m the one who’s going to be making the sacrifices here, alright? I’m older than you, remember? I call the shots.” He chuckled, booping your nose.
“I love you so much, star.”
You cringed at the nickname, shoving him away. “Stop calling me that, you sound like a character in one of Mr Yang’s cheesy novels.”
He smirked at that. “I’ll never stop calling you that. You’re my star, cause you light up my world and guide me when everything’s dark.” He reasoned, laughing and throwing his head back as he watched you wrinkle your nose in disgust, looking a little like a bunny.
Humming, Minho lay back on the grass, and you followed suit after a minute of hesitation.
“I don’t mind you calling me that. Just don’t do it in front of people.”
“Okay, I won’t. It’s just us all the time, anyway...”
The two of you stared up at the sky, listening to the calm sounds of frogs ribbiting, birds chirping, and the splashing sounds of the fish in the lake. Above it all though, was the sound of your heart, beating persistently as Minho’s fingers creeped closer to yours, intertwining your hands.
“It’s always us...”
***
Your father had explained to you that since your family consisted entirely of ember elementals, your dragon would be of the same kind as well. This went against what Minho had told you before, and your mind was swimming with all the different information you were receiving.
“But...Minho said it doesn’t work that way.”
He sat on his armchair, chewing on a chicken leg as he raised an eyebrow. “Really? Well, he’s wrong.” He sighed, shaking his head. “It’s never happened in centuries, and it’s not gonna happen now. You’re an Ember, through and through.”
You purse your lips. “Well, you’re always right, Father.”
He nodded, not picking up on the snark your sentence was dripping with. "The bond you share with your dragon is one that can never be replicated. You choose it, and it chooses you. It is truly a beautiful process, a spectacle to behold. Every single villager will be watching, so you better hold your head high. Make me proud."
You were about to reply when you heard a knock on your door. Glancing at your father for permission, you stood up. heading through the long hallway to open the front door.
“Minho?”
You looked at him, tilting your head at his troubled expression. “What’s up?
“I came to give you these.” He said softly, looking around before showing you the fiery petals in his palms. “I borrowed a herbology book from the library a few months ago, and learnt how to grow these. Ignis flowers. They’re symbols of good luck, apparently.”
He took your hand, placing the petals on your palm. “They reminded me of you.”
Your eyes widened slowly. “Wow...Minho, I didn’t get you anything...” You said guiltily, humming when Minho gently pulled you into a hug.
“You don’t have to. I’ve got to go home, now. See you tomorrow!”
You nodded, the petals safe in your hands as he left hurriedly. You watched him head to his house, opposite to yours.
After he left, you were about to head to bed when your father asked you to stay back. Confused, you went over to sit in front of him, tilting your head in confusion.
“Who was at the door?”
“It was just Minho.” You shrugged, eyeing your father as he groaned, massaging his forehead. He looked like he was contemplating something, his wrinkles seeming especially prominent.
"Child, be wary of your...friend."
"Friend...?" You knew he meant Minho. You'd never heard him address him in that manner though - void of affection.
Minho's father and yours were co-chiefs of the village, best friends since birth. He’d always treated Minho like his own son. What had brought on this sudden hostility?
He noticed the expression on your face, sighing and patting your shoulder. "I'm just asking you to be careful, dear. There is talk of the Aer elementals gaining power at an accelerated rate these days. Aer dragons are growing up to be stronger, even more so than our Ember ones. It's truly a strange phenomenon. I do not want to be one of these people who is suspicious of everything and everyone...but both the kid and his father have changed. Even I can't deny that."
You swallowed at his words, watching as his face drifted off, deep in thought. You'd heard of it too- hushed whispers claiming that a single chief would be preferable for the village. And if your father's hunch was right...no, you didn't want to think about it.
Minho wouldn't ever betray you. You'd known him since before you could talk. you’d build up a lot of trust in each other over the years. There was no one else you knew as well. If you couldn’t trust him, who could?
No. He would never hurt you. You were sure of it.
***
The whole village was buzzing for weeks after the ceremony took place. They simply couldn't understand what had happened. It was unprecedented- and the news spread like wildfire.
You were matched with a majestic Aer creature, and Minho a beautiful crimson beast of Ember. Mistakes weren't possible- the process was never questioned- but that didn't mean people weren't bewildered.
For centuries, no one had managed to match with a dragon that controlled an element that differed from theirs.
Neither of you could understand why your fathers and the villagers were so perplexed, though. Was it really as big of a deal as they made it seem?
"I don't get it. Why is it such a humongous problem? They’re just dragons. What’s the need for all this drama?" Minho rolled his eyes as he spoke.
You stroked your dragon's neck slowly as you watched him, huffing and ranting away. ‘Just dragons.’ There was a part of you that understood all the hubbub. The people loved gossip- especially if it involved the chiefs.
"It really isn't. They're both so beautiful, I don't really care what element they control."
You looked at your dragon, curled next to you. You wouldn't admit it, but she looked a little too beautiful- almost to the point where it intimidated you.
Translucent, white scales that reflected rainbows of light...long, beautiful almond shaped eyes that were the color of the ocean. She was larger and brighter than Minho's dragon as well. Your father had been right...the Aer dragons were evolving quicker, somehow.
She was quiet and regal, her sleek body elegant and her demeanor refined. You didn’t really have much in common, to be honest. You’d named her Caeli- a name that wasn’t really all that creative, but it would do. Besides, it seemed to fit.
Minho looked at you, sighing slowly. "Aeracus seems hungry. Father will be expecting me soon anyway, I think I'll go home now, Y/n."
"Bye, Min."
He shot you a dashing grin before standing up, climbing his dragon.
As they left, a great whoosh of wind rustling your hair, you looked up at your dragon. She was staring at the water, her eyes narrowed.
You were starting to feel a little worried. You couldn’t exactly...hear her thoughts. She seemed too closed off, barely even looking at you as she blankly watched the frogs jump from one lilypad to the other. You didn’t feel that special bond everyone had been talking about for years, insisting to you that it would be a connection so profound you wouldn’t be able to live without it.
Did she not like you? You looked so average next to her ethereality, drab and plain as opposed to her stunning beauty.
You couldn’t blame her, really.
***
When Minho stood next to your dragon, the sight somehow made more sense. He was beautiful, and so was the creature next to him. They fit together perfectly.
Aeracus on the other hand, was slightly more average. He was majestic as well, but not on the same level as Caeli. You felt more at home riding him, somehow. Like...he was the one that was meant to be yours.
Of course, you wouldn’t ever tell anyone about this. It could be considered infidelity, even. Your father was disappointed enough in you as it was. Four years of training with Caeli, and you still weren’t able to channel her power into...anything. She just wouldn’t co-operate.
"There you go..." He finished slipping the harness onto Caeli, dusting off his hands as he came back over to you, giggling as Aeracus rubbed his big head against your side.
Minho raised his eyebrows at the display of affection. Aeracus was never that amicable to him. Yes, he listened to him...but that was about it. And yet, to you...he always noticed how the two of you seemed to have some sort of connection. He’d mentioned this to his father once, only to be called ridiculous.
Then again, he couldn’t blame the dragon for having a soft spot for you. Who wouldn’t?
“Hey...” He looked down at you as the dragon pulled away, ambling off to Caeli’s side. You glanced up slowly when Minho cleared his throat, leaning in a little as his fingers ran through your tresses. Your cheeks flushed, eyes widening slightly at his touch.
"A leaf. In your hair." He mumbled, throwing said leaf onto the ground as he stared into your eyes.
Your heart was thudding loudly in your chest as your gaze ran over his features, so close to your face. Fuck, he was so deathly handsome, even more so now that you were both almost adults. Puberty had treated him well.
A little too well.
The girls in the square swooning over Minho became a regular occurrence now. You couldn't even seem to go anywhere with your best friend, without having a mob of fangirls following closely.
When he was this close to you, it became overwhelmingly evident why his fans were so enamored by him. Lee Minho really was beautiful.
"Careful, a fly might make its nest in your mouth." He chuckled. "What's up, kitten? You look on edge."
That was the other thing. His latest habit of calling you pet names- the likes of which included princess and kitten- had come out of nowhere. He really seemed to enjoy making you blush. At times like this, you wished he would have just stuck with ‘star’.
“Nothing.” You stuttered, avoiding his eyes and choosing to focus your stare on the ground. Minho wasn’t in the mood for your shyness, though. He placed his finger under your chin, tilting your face up to look at him.
“You sure about that? Is there a reason you look so flustered right now?” He breathed, leaning in closer until your noses were brushing.
Oh, fuck you, Lee.
You'd always thought Minho was attractive. Of course. You'd be blind not to notice. And yet, at this proximity, you felt like you haven’t ever truly appreciated just how fucking hot the man in front of you was.
And so you did something you never thought you’d have the courage to do.
Leaning in, you closed the distance between the two of you, lips crashing against his. To Minho’s credit, he wasn’t all that shocked. Smirking against you, his arms wrapped around your waist as he pulled you closer, gluing your body to his.
Backing you up against a tree, Minho was quick to lift your thigh, slotting your hips together as he ran his tongue over your bottom lip.
A groan left you as he slid his hand under your shirt, pulling away to stare at you, the sight of your swollen lips affecting him in ways he couldn’t quite describe.
“What...what did we just-”
He shut you up with another kiss, rougher than the last one. Breathless pecks, desperately claiming you with his lips as he pressed himself against you.
“Just go with the flow, baby.”
And so you did.
***
As you carefully made your way down, your mind was racing with a million thoughts. The thought of seeing your boyfriend again after so many years scared you as much as it excited you. After all...it wasn’t like you parted on good terms.
You still remembered the heartbroken look on his face, the last time you saw him. You couldn’t tell him that you’d tried everything, tried your best to reason with your father who simply refused to budge. He’d expected you to do something more...but what?
It wasn’t his fault. It was a fucking accident, and yet he’d had to take the blame.
Deep down, though, you knew what your father’s real intentions had been when he banished Minho and his father from the village. Of course, Caeli’s death had shaken him- the entire village had been in a state of shock. The death of a dragon was the most tragic event that could possibly befall a village. And when said dragon happened to belong to the chief’s daughter? Shattering.
At the end of the day though, it was a convenient incident...one that happened to take place just as your father’s status was being questioned. A blessing in disguise, for him.
“It’s okay, my child. Yes, you suffered a great loss, but I know you weren’t that close to it. We must move on. On the bright side, you can focus on your studies now! Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted to do?”
You scoffed, his words repeating themselves in your brain. Bullshit. There was no bright side, nor would there ever be one without Minho in your life.
***
“There you are. Where were you?"
"I...was with Aeracus." You didn't see the point in lying. Your brain was too tired to come up with a believable fabrication anyway.
As expected, his face screwed up in anger as he glared, standing up.
"Why?" He hissed. "Let me remind you he is not your dragon. How many times have I told you not to get too close to it?"
"Aeracus and I have a bond." You mumbled.
"No. You don't. A bond is forged between a dragon and its owner by forces beyond our control. This measly 'friendship', if you can even call it that, is trivial. At the end of the day, it doesn't really belong to you. It belongs to the boy who betrayed you."
You couldn't bring yourself to react any more. Your father was old-fashioned, his opinions set in stone. ‘Betrayed’. You wanted to scoff.
You turned around without a word, heading for your room. There was no energy left in your body, yet the exhaustion was overpowered by your emotions.
"Y/n, wait."
You stopped, turning and looking at him. "What?"
"Your maids are waiting to dress you. Don't argue with them. You are to wear the outfit I picked out for you. Today's dinner is extremely important." He paused. "And...what I said before still stands. The dragon won't hesitate to betray you, especially now that his true owner is coming back. Be...be careful." Your father said quietly, his face softening.
You sighed. "I will be."
"Good."
He dismissed you. You heaved a sigh of relief under your breath and headed out, opening the door to your own room.
You would never admit this to your father, but as nervous as you were, you were secretly looking forward to the dinner. To see him again.
If you closed your eyes and immersed yourself deep enough into your imagination, you could still feel his touch ghosting along your thighs. His soft lips, pressing against yours.
You missed his voice, his tight hugs...you missed everything about him. You'd only ever felt safe in his arms.
The loneliness and pain had consumed you when he left. Maybe that's why you latched on to Aeracus, the last remnant of Minho in this village that seemed so much more dreary without his presence.
"Miss Y/n! We have no time to lose." Your head maid scurried about your room with two others, spreading out your dress on your bed. One of the maids- Sylvia, you think her name was- snuck up behind you and began undressing you. Yes, you were used to this, but the layer of urgency in the atmosphere was a lot more profound tonight.
The entire village was on edge, and you couldn’t really blame them. The first Elemental Championships, and they were being hosted at your village. The exhilaration was understandable...you couldn't bring yourself to feel the same way, though. Maybe if you were actually participating, you’d feel different.
You looked at the dress the maid was holding onto, initially without much interest...but your eyes widened when it came into view.
It was beautiful, yet simple...the color of spun gold, with tiny rubies clustered at the bodice. The sleeves fell of the shoulders delicately, and the material was diaphanous, the texture rich.
“Wow....Sylvia, you made this?”
“I did. It took me a year.” She smiled widely, your grin satisfying her. “Do you really like it, Miss Y/n?” There was a hopeful lilt to her voice, and your grin grew wider as they started helping you into it.
“Like it? I love it! You’ve really outdone yourself this time.”
She nodded in content, lacing up the back as the other maids began on your makeup. Usually, you didn’t like being treated as a doll, your servants fussing over you and your appearance. Today, though...
You could barely believe the reflection you were seeing in the mirror belonged to you. You'd never felt so glamorous before.
“You look beautiful, Miss.” Sylvia said softly, adjusting your sleeves.
You couldn’t wait for Minho to see you in this dress.
“Ann?” Another servant’s head appeared around the corner. “It’s time. They will arrive any moment now.”
A flurry of anxious noises and exclamations filled the room as they worked on you faster. You took a deep breath in, your mind blank and full of thoughts at the same time.
***
You stood next to your father, hands clasped in front of you. Surreptitiously, you raised your hand to your forehead, wiping away a few drops of perspiration. It was happening, you were finally going to see Minho again. And if your father successfully manages to make amends with his- fuck, you were grinning just thinking about it.
The villagers standing behind you were all dressed in their best as well, and the lanterns shone brightly, washing over everything. The air was sparkling, the atmosphere charged with electricity. Everyone had their eyes trained on the sky, waiting for Minho’s people. The two other villages were to come tomorrow, according to the letters.
Four villages. All competing in the championship yours was hosting. It was nerve-wracking, the amount of people who would be crammed into your village, which was big enough, really- possibly the largest in the country- it still stressed you out, though. Since there weren’t enough guest houses to fit everyone, a lot of the visitors would be staying with your villagers, the chiefs and their families staying at your house. You were keenly aware of the fact that this meant Minho would be in the same living quarters as you. Your heart pounded at the prospect.
Later in the night, you were planning to sneak into his room, since you obviously wouldn’t be allowed to talk to him during the dinner. At least, you wouldn’t be able to communicate the things you so desperately wanted to say to him. Every part of you tingled as you thought about what you’d say to him.
You felt light as a feather as you stared at the starry sky, eyes widening slightly as you spotted the thousands of dots in the distance, flying closer. Anticipation and exhilaration mingled in you as you waited for them to arrive. Just the thought of feeling Minho pressed up against you again, whispering in your ear how much he loved you...it made you want to cry, almost. You’d waited for this moment for too long.
The conch shell was blown as they reached the edge of the forest. More than a thousand dragons, covered in finery, just like their riders.
Hmm. There were a lot more than you expected. You’d only been anticipating about a hundred, since it was only Minho’s village that was coming tonight. Or so you’d thought...
You turned your head to look at your father, letting the confusion show on your face. Noticing your expression, he shrugged. “It looks like all three decided to come tonight.”
You frowned, looking back at the dragons that were at the border now, preparing for landing. That was weird.
You observed the dragons that had landed, your eyebrows furrowing. Huh.
The three dragons at the front were a lot bulkier than the ones in the back. Darker colors, almost hulking muscles and narrow eyes. They looked like no dragon you’d ever seen before. The sight was almost unsettling. You felt a faint sense of dread spreading over you, a feeling you tried to push away as your eyes searched each dragon’s back for Minho.
You recognized Minho’s father right away. He was at the very front, along with two other old men on a green and blue dragon respectively, that you realized were the chiefs of the other two villages. Surprisingly though, Minho wasn’t sat behind him. You’d assumed it to be that way...after all, Minho’s dragon was still here. So where was he? Your eyebrows furrowed, not wanting to assume the worst right away. You wildly looked over them all, craning your neck slightly. You didn’t want to seem too eager, but it’s not like you could help yourself. Could anyone blame you? Here you were, about to meet the first and only person you’d ever fallen in love with, after years of yearning and loneliness.
As your father stepped forward, a smile on his face to greet the chiefs, you finally saw him.
For a minute, it was like you couldn’t breathe. He looked as beautiful as ever, his feline eyes twinkling, his dark hair exposing part of his smooth forehead. His hands gripped the reins so tightly his knuckles were white, and the way he sat on his dragon was regal, his expression confident and filled with determination. He was older, and somehow even more handsome than the last time you saw him. You didn’t even think that was possible.
You swallowed, your breath catching in your throat as his eyes finally met yours.
It was like time had ceased for a minute. You smiled slowly, happy tears pricking at your eyes as you took in his face.
He didn’t smile back.
And that’s when you noticed the pale arms wrapped around his waist. Confused, you watched as the chiefs dismounted the dragons, along with their heirs. Minho alighted from the dragon, helping down the woman who had been holding onto him. He held her hands gently, leaning in to press a kiss to her forehead.
You felt like your whole world had collapsed, bile rising in your throat as you watched her giggle. You noticed she was dressed in blue, her clothing that of a heiress. As they approached, your eyes fell on the sparkling ring on her finger...one that matched Minho’s.
When his eyes looked into yours again, they were cold, just like your heart.

Eda becomes some kind of flying taxi service
Amity: So I told Malphas he needed to have a talk with Gary about our coffee break space.
Emira: Mhmm.
Amity: I mean, for one, Gary never cleans after himself. Like, I once saw him leaving his mug dirty for over a week. A WEEK. It was disgusting. It was just sitting dare on the table for days. I didn’t want to clean it, I’m not a doormate. But it was dire and I had no choice. And don’t get me started on the fridge situation. My lunch has been getting smaller by the day and I can’t seem to figure out the culprit.
Emira: That’s nice, Mittens. Isn’t it nice, Edric?
Edric: What?
Amity: Will you guys pay attention? I need some advice on...
*Windows cracking”
Edric: What the...
Hooty: AMITY FELICITY BLIGHT! IT IS I, HOOTCIFER, HARBINGER OF THY DESTINY. COME WITH ME AND I SHALL REVEAL WHAT JOYS THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR THEE.
Amity: I... What?
Hooty: DOTH THOU DARE DEFY FATE? *Swallows Amity*
Emira: ... What just happened? Wasn’t that Eda’s house demon? You know, the one we met before Grom?
Edric: I think it was. I’m not sure though, he sounded more... ominous...
SEVERAL EMOTIONAL MOMENTS LATER
Luz: It’s early... Do you really have to go already?
Amity: Yeah... I still have to finish homework, and I have work tomorrow. But I’ll come back here tomorrow... If you’re okay with it, that is...
Luz: YES! I mean... yeah, I’d love that...
Amity: Anyway... I guess I should get going, we’re not exactly neighbors after all. See you tomorrow then.
Luz: Wait, I have an idea. *Turns around* EDA!
Eda: *Not stopping her flight practice* What?
Luz: Do you think you could give Amity a lift back to her place?
Eda: Oh? Not walking your girlfriend home? Thought you’d be more chivalrous.
Luz: *Showing that Amity’s tomato like properties are infectious* EDAAA!
Eda: Sorry, sorry. But yeah, sure. *Picks up Amity and flies away at neckbreaking speeds. She soon slows down to a more reasonable pace* So... Amity, before I give you that whole “What are your intentions?” scare there’s something I’ve been itching to ask you. What made you chose to dye your hair of all colors, and how did Odd-alia react?
Amity: Luz... Me... Girlfriend...
Eda: Ugh... Don’t make me regret making harmless fun of young love, kiddo.
ONE AWKWARD TAXI EDA FLYING SESSION LATER.
Eda: *Placing Amity on the Blight Manor’s front porch and looking at the two bewildered faces watching her* Sup. *Turns to fly away* Oh right, I guess purple here is in not in the mental state to give any explanations.
Amity: Small ceremony... Human realm... Only friends and family... Boscha is not invited...
Emira: Are you... Edalyn Clawthorne?
Eda: Last I checked I was.
Emira: You look different.
Eda: Oh right... Look, it was a very eventful night so let me start with the simpler one. King, you remember him, right? Tiny, angry, looks like a cat, was the MC at the last Grom along with Goops.
Emira and Edirc: Yeah...?
Eda: He’s harnessing all the powers of yelling. I guess all children his age kinda do that but he went above and beyond and actually learned how to make things go boom with his voice alone, and that’s why both Luz and your sister are still alive. And now I’m realizing I should probably go hide all those Death Metal records I got in human realm. Can’t risk turning my son into a weapon of mass destruction. Not yet.
Edric: That’s... nice... I guess?
Emira: How about Mittens?
Eda: Right. She and Luz are an item now. It was adorable, I called her Luz’s girlfriend then I think it finally really hit her and that made her go all catatonic on me. Sorry about that.
Edric: WHAT?
Emira: Okay, okay... So came out with it? Ed and I have some scores to settle.
Eda: I... Both, I guess? I don’t know, it was sort of at the same time. But I don’t want to spoil it for when she recovers. So I guess us three are kinda family now, huh? Tangentially at least, like you’re my nephew and niece-in-law or something like that, I don’t know.
Eda: The important thing is: there’s a huge waterway under my house and I think it is actually part of my property. Now I need to figure out a way to find out how big that place actually is without letting town hall know so my taxes won’t go up. Can’t push my tax evasion skills. I mean, can you imagine it? The Owl Lady, the most successful outlaw in Boiling Isles history: arrested for fiscal crimes.
Emira: Okay... That’s... cool.
Edric: Yeah... Not to pry though, but what happened to you?
Eda: Oh... Me? I got very high. Not on purpose. Then I became a Harpy. Also not on purpose.
Emira: ... I’m sorry but I’m not following the cause and effect relation between those thing.
Eda: Neither am I. All I remember is: Hooty spiked some cookies; I revisited that time I gauged out my dad’s eye, also not on purpose; then when I push my ex away (You know, Raine Whispers, current head of the Bard Coven, lead a small revolutionary guerrilla, now under mind control. Oh, yeah, guess they’d make to sure to keep it under wraps, anyway...)
Eda: Then it got pretty weird. I got trapped by this tall hooded sun and moon figure and I’m not sure whether that was an actual memory (I did get arrested a few time after all) or if it was just a hallucinogenics induced manifestation of the subconscious trauma of being persecuted for years by the state. Anyone’s guess to which was it.
Eda: And then I became Icarus, fell into the sea, and became a piece of paper. Then I was at the beach, the piece of paper was also there, but that’s not important... I hope... Anyway, so, my curse was there too an for a moment there I thought we were gonna play some chess, but nah.
Eda: I did have an epiphany though. The sky changed colors and now I’m a Harpy. Gotta a lot of stuff to process right.
Edric: *Wide eyed and mouth agape* Mother of Titan...
Emira: *Same as her brother* Do you... need a hug or something?
Eda: Ehh... Don’t worry, I’ll get through. I mean, I’m a badass Harpy woman now, what else could I want? I appreciate the thought though. Anyway, I’ll get going, Luz has probably been stuck in the same place ever since I left. Was nice seeing you guys. *Turns around*
Edric: WAIT, EDA.
Eda: Yeah? What is it?
Edric: Can you take me flying a little bit like you did Mittens? Pretty please?
Emira: *Elbowing her brother* EDRIC!
Edric: What? There’s a tall and friendly winged lady standing in our front porch and calling us family...
Eda: Kinda family.
Edric: Kinda family. And we only went flying, on dad’s staff mind you, like twice. And I mean, look at her. That’s clearly a person with next to no regard for speed limits or any form of flying safety. *Turns to Eda* I mean that as the highest of compliments, by the way.
Eda: *Nodding and smiling* Well, I’m not one to brag... But you’re on point there.
Edric: *Turning back to Emira* See? It will be fun. *Turns back to Eda while making puppy eyes* So, pretty pretty please?
Eda: Eh... What the heck, why not? I do need to get a better hold of this flying thing after all. Fair warning though, I only had these for about an hour, I’m not taking responsibility for any loss of limb or life. *Picks Edric up and place him on one of her shoulders and turns to Emira.* You sure you don’t wanna come with? There’s plenty of room.
Emira: ... I never said I didn’t want to...
Eda: *Placing Emira on her other shoulder* Alritty then, make sure to hold on tight to my hair, just don’t fall into it. Can’t promise I’ll find you if you do. And up we go. *Takes off at neckbreaking speed*
Eda: So... I tried that to Mittens herself, but she was too lost in elation to form coherent sentences. What’s the deal with her hair color change? Why did she pick that specific shade of... pink? Lavender? Purple? Whatever, I was a tad curious about that choice coming from one of Odd-alia’s offspring. So either of you can shed some light on it for me?
Emira: Eh, what can I say? Our little Mittens is growing up, coming out of her shell. I mean, if you told me a month that she’d have a girlfriend by now I’d call it bullshit. Though I would have guessed Luz as being the most likely candidate. In any case, I’m pretty proud of the steps our baby sister is taking, not gonna lie.
Edric: Yeah... Same. But I can’t shake the feeling that it is at least in part an act of rebellion against mom. She did always have that weird fixation with Amity’s hair after all...
Eda: Hum, I see. This actually takes me to my follow up question. How did your mom react when she saw it?
Edric: *chuckling* Oh, I thought she’d have a stroke right then and there.
Emira: Yup. Never saw mom that mad. You’d think the two of us would be the ones to cause it but nope, Mittens beat us to it. Again, I’m a proud big sister.
Eda: Hehehe Sounds about right. You two are the troublemaking type then huh?
Edric: That’s a way of putting.
Emira: We like thinking of ourselves as practical entertainers however. We are in the Illusions track so it comes with the territory. Buuut...
Edric: We indulge in some prankery every now and then, and there’s no one better at it than us.
Eda: Is that so? Ever get in trouble for it?
Edric: Sometimes... When we (kind of accidentally) cause more property damage than intended because SOMEONE botched their end of the spell and caused Bump’s office to almost go up in flames.
Emira: Awww. Ed, I told you already. Don’t beat yourself over it. Accidents happen. You’ll do better next time.
Edric: HEY!
Emira: Anyway, Eda. Why were you asking about Mittens’ hair?
Eda: Oh... You guys are going to love this. I think. Anyway, did you know that me and your parents attended Hexside at the same time?
Edric: Yeah, I remember mom seeing one of your wanted posters a while back and calling you “Ewdalyn Clownthorne” or something like that.
Eda: Ah, haven’t heard that in a minute, Titan those were the day. Anyway, as you might have guessed by now me and your mother we... had a bit of a rivalry. Unfortunately, I couldn’t top the nickname she gave me, best I could do was Odd-alia. No offense, but Blight doesn’t give much to work with in terms of puns, can’t get funnier than that. Especially when thrown at her.
Emira: None taken. And yeah. I mean, it is fun when people call us stuff like “The Blights of Hexside”. But it is kinda sad to know we’ll never get a nickname as cool as Owl Lady or Lord Calamity.
Eda: Oh, my fame still precedes me huh? You know, I think the three of us will get along just fine.
Edric and Emira: Yup, we sure will.
Eda: Anyway, flattery aside... Part of the reason why I love poking your mom with a short stick was, other than how aggravated she’d get and how surprisingly good at paying in kind she was, the fact that she was in the Oracle track. You see, that made her a challenge. And given how she would actually prank me back (successfully, mind you, I have no shame in admitting that) I feel like like we actually a weird sort of friends, or at least we reached some kind of agreement that we were fair game for each other. And trust me, she was ruthless, and very good at escalating things.
Emira: Wow...
Edric: That sounds nothing like the mom we know. Other than the ruthless or the escalation part, that is still true.
Eda: Yeah, anyway. Part of our little game was keeping it hidden. Neither your dad or my sister actually ever realized what was going on until... well, I’ll get to that.
Eda: Anyway, so some lovely day I notice how weirdly obsessed with her hair Odd-alia was. This gives me some ideas, but I know I have make this the mother of pranks, so I decided to just keep a watch, to figure out what the best way to go about it would be. And I was also making those smaller pranks, something to throw her Oracle powers off-balance, you know?
Eda: Well... Back in the day your mother wasn’t monochromatic as she is nowadays. She’d circle through all colors you can think off on her accessories (which she used an ungodly amount, and no judgement it just never seems physically possible). But I noticed that there was one very specific color that she never got anywhere near her.
Edric and Emira: No way...
Eda: And as I said, she was weirdly obsessed with her hair... And as top student of the Potions track making hair dye was child’s play for me... So... do the math... And guess what very specific color was? I may be bad at color names, but I won’t ever, EVER, forget that particular shade.
Edric and Emira: No... freaking... way...
Eda: Yes... freaking... way... I mean, seriously, the first time I saw Amity’s new hair I had to do a double take. The resemblance was just too uncanny.
Emira: And what did she do?
Eda: Well... For a couple weeks there I thought I’d have to place a restriction order on her or something like that. Ultimately the two of us, along with Lilith and Alador (they were our attorneys, no they were not qualified for the role.) sitting across from each other in a very formal looking table, signing a contract. An actual freaking contract setting clear limits to our mutual pranks, like what was off limits like her hair or my then partner, how long was the maximum period a prank could last, so on. Surprisingly enough that was Al’s idea.
Eda: And let me tell you, that was probably the toughest negotiation I ever been a part of. Shame it was not long before I dropped out so never could really put it to use. You know, sometime I think this actually made Odd-alia realize she wanted to be a business woman. I mean, before that she’d go off about how she’d join the Emperor’s Coven all the damn time.
Edric: Wow...
Emira: I second that. Really, wish I had brought something I could take notes on. You completely blown anything we ever did out of the water.
Edric: No wonder she never told us that. You know what? I think I’m dying my hair that color first thing tomorrow.
Emira: Can we tell Amity this story?
Eda: Are you two actually thinking of antagonizing her? Are you crazy? First off, she’s your mother, she holds power over you. All you’d accomplish is getting grounded. Not to mention that she has decades of experience on you, even if she wasn’t your mom, she’d demolish the two of you. No offense, you’re still young, naive, you lack guidance in the ways of the pranksters.
Edric and Emira: *Dejectedly* Ohh... You’re right...
Eda: Hey... Don’t look so gloomy. I see a lot of potential in you, in both of you. *Sighs* I can’t believe I’m gonna take more kids under my wing... But.... Have you guys ever heard of the Bad Girl Coven Initiative? We annoy our foes into submission.
Edric and Emira: WE’RE LISTENING.
Eda: Heh... We’ll get along just fine indeed.

Second (Laurel Lance x Reader)
You had always felt like you were second to somebody else your entire life. With your parents, your older brother had always been the favorite. With your siblings, it’d been the other one. Your big brother was closer with your younger sister and vice versa. Then you got older and you made a friend in Sara Lance. For once, you’d felt like maybe you weren’t somebody’s second choice. And then, Sara got pretty and popular. Oliver Queen started to give her attention and you faded into the background. And then, all of the sudden, both Oliver and Sara were gone.
It was the first time in a long time that you truly had nobody. You were grieving and you couldn’t bring yourself to be upset about the right things. Sara had, in a way, cheated on you by going onto that boat with Oliver. She hadn’t promised to only be yours, but she had made you feel special and let you make her feel loved. And with that suppressed anger and grief over your relationship, you befriended Laurel.
The two of you were there for each other. You fell for her and you fell hard. In your defense, you were young and she didn’t treat you like a second option. You were brought in, treated like you actually mattered. Laurel made sure that you were included, that you weren’t alone. And you could feel something between the two of you, which was when Tommy swooped in and stole Laurel’s heart.
Then, Oliver came back and the heart-shattering grief you’d felt turned to red hot anger. Laurel pulled you away before you could do anything. Laurel protected you and even though she found herself a boyfriend, she still made sure you were fine. Tommy and Oliver started spending more time together and Laurel kept you a little closer. You were with her, the night Tommy died and the nights after when the world was too much for her to handle on her own.
“Good morning,” Laurel said as she set a cup of coffee in front of you. She was dressed for work, but she didn’t seem in a hurry to go in. “I was thinking I could take you out for breakfast since I’m an awful cook?”
“I can make us pancakes Laurel,” you offered and she shook her head. “Why not?”
“Because it is your birthday silly.” The fact that Laurel had said that like it was the most obvious thing in the world struck a chord with you. Your birthday had never really been that big of a deal, even as a child. Sure, Laurel always made sure to do something with you, but now things were a bit different. You were living together, you were close friends, and sometimes the way that you’d look at each other, felt a lot more than friendly. “And you should relax today.”
“You didn’t take your birthday off,” you pointed out. “So, I think I can make us pancakes.”
“I wanna treat you today, please?” Laurel pouted and you couldn’t tell her no. “Today, you are my top priority, as long as you don’t mind coming into work with me briefly so I can sign off on something.”
“Gimme a second to shower?” you asked and Laurel nodded. You set your coffee down and ran to take a shower. You quickly got ready, finished your cup of coffee, and then let Laurel drive you to her office. You waited in the car for less than three minutes before she came back, panting. “Did you run?”
“I didn’t want to leave you waiting,” Laurel said with a smile that melted your heart a bit. It was weird, how much she cared about you sometimes. Well, she cared all the time, but there were times when you noticed a bit more. Laurel picked out a nice place for the two of you to eat breakfast. After, she took you to pick up a couple of things before you stopped at the movies and to see Felicity.
Felicity and you hadn’t really had a lot in common and you didn’t like her when you met, but eventually you got to know each other. Oliver moved on with Felicity and Laurel and you started to grow a bit closer, so things worked out. Felicity had actually reached out to you one night when you were playing a game online, starting a weekly tradition of the two of you playing games together a couple nights.
“You’re spoiling me,” you told Laurel as she drove you around a bit. “Why?”
“Because of the things you don’t remember,” Laurel said and you raised an eyebrow at her. “One night, when I was broken up about Tommy and your sister was on TV with her new show, you drank yourself practically to death and told me that you’d never find someone like me because I didn’t treat you like a second place prize.”
“You don’t, not even when other people should take your priority. You’ve always had time for me,” you said softly.
“You’re worth my time. I thought Oliver was my soulmate once, then I thought it was Tommy. After all that, I thought I’d die alone with a bottle of wine and some cats. Now, I think that maybe there’s somebody who is perfect for me and all it took was realizing what I’m worth.” The look that Laurel was giving you made your heart flutter. “I’ll admit that my mind didn’t immediately go to you as being the love of my life, but there’s no way that you could ever come second to anybody else in the world for me. You, Y/n, are my number one and I love you.”

The Domino Falls: Arrow 1x12 Review (Vertigo)
It’s officially 1 year today since Arrow went off the air and I thought what better way to mark the moment than by chatting about the show we all love with a review!
We have begun the slow and steady climb to more Felicity Smoak content
and “Vertigo” is a monumentally HUGE moment in Oliver and Felicity’s relationship. One little meet up at Big Belly Burger is what tips the dominoes over for Oliver Queen.
Let’s dig in...
Olicity
Let’s get right to the good stuff. Of course, there’s other stuff that happened in this episode, but do we care? Only a little. Oliver is on the hunt for The Count – the man responsible for the Vertigo epidemic and Thea’s looming drug trial. The Count is in my Top 5 of best Arrow villains. Of course his first episode coincides with an Olicity milestone. That rat bastard worked the hardest for our ship.
The judge has decided to make an example out of Ms. Queen in hopes of deterring others from trying Vertigo. Seriously, does that ever work?
So, he chucked Thea’s plea agreement right out the window. Big Bro in The Hood is hoping to serve up a bigger fish – THE FISH – to help get his sister off the hook. Oliver is generally anti innocent people dying from illicit drugs, so there are unselfish reasons at play too.
No one knows the identity of The Count, so after roughing up the streets and getting nowhere, Oliver reaches out to Alexi Leonov. We met Leonov in 1x03, but for those who need a refresher - he leads the Starling City chapter of the Bratva. This is the first time Diggle meets Leonov, discovers Oliver speaks Russian, is a captain in the Russian mob, and can fake kill someone.
It was a big day for John.
Leonov sets up the meet with The Count and Oliver attempts to buy some Vertigo off him, sans mask and arrow. The cops show up and Oliver tries to run down The Count as he escapes, but is stabbed in the chest with two syringes full of Vertigo.
Never fear, Oliver has his magic herbs from Lian Yu which apparently can cure drug overdose. (Maybe share with the rest of the world?) Vertigo makes him momentarily murderous (more than usual) and he screams a lot.
THE POINT OF ALL THIS EXPOSITION IS ALL ROADS LEAD TO FELICITY SMOAK.
Diggle and Oliver think it would be wise to have someone analyze the Vertigo… for some reason. This leads our dynamic duo to Queen Consolidated and to our favorite blonde hacker.
Felicity rambles about Oliver’s haggard appearance (re: see drug overdose) and a cat being tased (she connects those disparate dots, I assure you). He offers yet another ridiculous lie and we embark on one of the funniest scenes in Arrow’s history.
Arrow struggled to find its footing for a long time, but “Vertigo” is the beginning of the writers settling on to solid ground. If you ever have to wonder why the show focused on Oliver, Diggle and Felicity as the core characters you only need to watch this scene for the answer.
The chemistry between all the actors is amazing. Arrow is not known for its humor (especially in Season 1), but between Emily Bett Rickard’s perfect delivery of another one of Felicity’s awkward and inadvertent sexual slip ups,
Stephen Amell’s inability to stay in character as he laughs right along with us,
and David Ramsey’s stone cold straight man reaction –
this entire scene is comedy gold.
I vividly remember watching it live, laughing my ass off, and wanting more of EVERYTHING these three have to offer. And that’s exactly what we’re going get.
“I ran out of sports bottles” reigned as Arrow’s funniest scene for a solid two years (until this episode), but it also marks the worst of Oliver’s terrible lies to Felicity. It’s so bad even Diggle has to remark on it in the elevator. Oliver’s lies are horrible, everyone knows Felicity doesn’t buy a word of it, and their need for her help is increasing with every day. Something has to change.
As we discussed in 1x11, Oliver is prone to distrust and very reticent to change his mind – ever. He’s been burned so many times in the past it’s difficult for him to view anyone through a trusting lens.
And yet, Oliver told his deepest and darkest secret to a man he’d only known for a few weeks. Yes, Diggle had soldier skills Oliver would find useful as a partner. He knew John could hold his own in the field, but it’s not just about his abilities. It was also about the person Diggle is. Oliver did his homework and realized he needed John to survive. There was a wellspring of humanity in John that Oliver wasn’t able to access inside himself. He was subconsciously reaching out for help - like a moth to a flame.
It is the same with Felicity. Yes, Oliver needs her abilities – perhaps even more than what Diggle has to offer. (It’s not like Oliver Queen can’t handle himself in the field). But he is also drawn to Felicity’s warmth, kindness, humor, compassion and openness. Oliver’s heart is encased in iron and welded shut. He doesn’t know how to open it back up. It’s been dark and alone for so long. And yet, Oliver returns again and again to this brightly shining light and why? Because he craves it.
Something has to change. We need that final push, the first domino to fall, so Oliver can make that final step and tell Felicity who he really is. Diggle was easier. He’d fought a war before. Oliver also knew about Andy’s death. Remember – Oliver brought Diggle onboard when he needed help with Deadshot. Manipulative? Yes, but it worked.
Felicity is trickier. I’m sure Oliver has done his research.
Well, yes that kind of research, but also into her background. There’s no dead family member requiring retribution. No war zone she’s recently returned from. She’s an MIT graduate with a penchant for hacking working at a global conglomerate as a wildly overqualified IT tech. The girl doesn’t have so much as a parking ticket. The leap to vigilantism would be rather big.
I also think a fair amount of his hesitancy to involve her in anything related to The Hood is the danger. Diggle can handle himself. Felicity is a different story. Oliver is constantly battling the need for Felicity’s help versus the risk he’s putting her at by asking for it. The lies are to protest Oliver’s secret identity, but also to shield Felicity from it.
Whether it is Oliver’s own distrustfulness, his inability to see an angle to reel Felicity in, his desire to protect her or all three – it doesn’t matter. He continues to lie to her. Oliver isn’t ready to make that big leap either.

Until… Felicity asks to meet him at Big Belly Burger. Oliver waits for her, looking out the window on a rainy night, thinking of Yao Fei.
Oliver feared Yao Fei betrayed him and was really working for Fyers, but neither was true. He convinced Fyers of his loyalty by pretending to kill Oliver. (So that’s who Oliver learned it from!) Yao Fei wakes Oliver just as he rolls his “dead” body into the waterfall. He also slips Oliver a map with a location marked with the words “Survive.”
Oliver doubted his trust in Yao Fei, but in the end was shocked to find out he had it right all along. Yao Fei was exactly who Oliver thought he was – a good man. That final and literal push cemented Oliver’s belief in his friend and to trust his gut.
There will probably always be a debate as to when the writers began the shift towards Olicity. “We DiDn’T dEcIdE uNtIL sEaSoN 2,” is the standard story, but I’m a firm believer it began in Season 1 and often include this scene in my massive pile of evidence. The last scene in the episode either tees up the next or contains a lot of emotional significance. Felicity beings to carve out a lot of final scene time as the series progresses.
The last scene in “Vertigo” is romantically lit with rain drops shimmering on the window. Oliver and Felicity are meeting outside the office and ALONE. Soft instrumental music plays in the background. It feels more intimate than any scene they’ve shared before.

I still cannot get over Oliver “The Sex God” Queen waving at Felicity Smoak like a giddy school boy and then shaking his head over how completely uncool he looked. We watched this man leave a criminal suspended in the air with an arrow through his hand in the first scene and in the last he acts like a puppy. THE RANGE.
It’s clear Felicity is a little nervous as she exhales walking in. Is she nervous to be meeting with Oliver or nervous about what she has to say? Both. She tips her hand a bit by thanking Oliver for meeting her at Big Belly Burger. She did not want to have this discussion at the Queen mansion. (THE PLOT THICKENS).
It seems Oliver and Felicity are having similar conundrums about each other. Felicity is uncertain if she can trust Oliver and has been debating for weeks whether or not to tell him the full truth. SOUND FAMILIAR? Felicity has far more evidence of Oliver’s untrustworthiness. There’s no rambling this time. She lays out the cold hard facts which is Oliver Queen is a big, fat liar and she knows it. He knows it. They both know it. Felicity Smoak is nobody’s fool.
And yet, she trusts him. Even though Oliver has given her no reason to. Even though there are clearly things he’s not telling her. Even though Oliver has yet to show her the same trust. There is something Felicity sees in him which tells her Oliver is worthy of it. It is an unsubstantiated truth. Felicity is going with her gut and her gut says Oliver Queen is a good man.
This doesn’t stop her from asking him the simple question though. Felicity needs that little bit of reassurance before she makes the final leap.
At first, Oliver plays it off in his smarmy, smart ass and flippant way. It’s the Ollie Queen façade that always works with L*urel, Tommy, Lance, Moira and Thea.
It’s an act that’s never worked on Felicity. She sees through it now just like she’s always has. Her smile fades. Felicity breaks eye contact with Oliver and doesn’t hide her disappointment. She is tired of the games and lies. Felicity wants to talk to the real Oliver Queen. That’s the only man she will share this secret with.
All it takes is five seconds of Felicity’s disappointment for Oliver to drop the façade like a hot potato.
He even apologizes and promises Felicity he is worthy of her trust. Then, Felicity lowers the boom and hands him The List.
It is difficult to surprise Oliver Queen, but this one has him reeling. She hands the book to Oliver, the same book Robert gave him, but he hesitates taking it. He has no idea where this is going, so he defaults to his standard operating procedure and lies.
Oliver is not doing a stellar job covering his “my world is upside down” reaction, so I highly doubt Felicity believes him, but she lets it slide for now.
The more information she shares with Oliver the worse it gets. Felicity begins to fill in all the missing pieces to Walter’s disappearance and the guilt is pointing directly at Moira.
This is not the first time Oliver has reason to doubt his mother, but every time he’s able to reason away her involvement in anything nefarious. If he can’t do that on his own then Moira provides very plausible explanations (LIES), which allow Oliver to continuing looking at his family with a blind eye. But this? This is impossible to easily explain away. Particularly since WALTER was beginning to suspect his own wife.
Source: green-arrows-of-karamel
If The List cost Walter his life then Felicity is risking her own by showing it to anyone, particularly a Queen. She is literally putting her life in Oliver’s hands when she handed him that book. The first domino falls, but it’s not Oliver who pushes it over. It’s Felicity. She gives Oliver the truth when he’s given nothing but lies. Felicity trusts him absolutely when he’s done nothing to show he’s deserving of it. She risks everything while Oliver continues to hide everything.
Felicity shocks Oliver no differently than Yao Fei shocked him. We’ve been waiting all this time for Oliver to make that final step and in the end it is Felicity who gives their relationship the necessary push over the waterfall. It’s a cold awakening, but he can see things clearly now. She is like a flashlight illuminating all the answers clouded by his distrustfulness and hesitancy.
Felicity reveals so much of herself in this moment. First, she is willing to take risks if the cause is worth it. Giving Oliver that book took real courage. Second, the girl can keep a secret. She never said boo about anything related to Moira or Walter during Oliver’s little visits. Not even a hint! Three, Felicity Smoak sees clearly all the things Oliver is blind to.
This serves as an important lesson for Oliver. Felicity knows so much more than he ever gave her credit for. Most importantly, his gut was right about her and he was wrong to ever question it. Two mistakes he will never make again.
And now everything will change.
Thea and Moira
I’m not gonna sugar coat this for you guys. I was one hundred percent okay with Thea going to jail. Season 1 Thea is a pain in the ass. A couple episodes with her sitting in the slammer would be a welcomed break from the teenage ‘tude.
L*urel and Lance work out a sweetheart deal for Thea after the judge basically said he would throw the book at her. Thea will serve 500 hours of community service under the watchful gaze of L*urel Lance at CRNI. And Thea flat out refuses.
Now, typically I am a fan of anyone who tells L*urel Lance to go screw herself, but even this was too much for me. Thea wants to go to jail to stick it to her mother because she’s still convinced Moira cheated on Walter.
She didn’t cheat on Walter, Thea! Your mom just kidnapped him. So it’s fine.
Oliver decides to drop the Robert “I’m not the man you think I am” Queen bomb on Thea and tells her their father was a big hoe. Thea refuses to believe him and Moira is ticked because Oliver told the truth. Queens don’t do that EVER.
Moira: He loved you. No matter his faults. He loved you.
Thea wants to know why Moira took all the punishment for Robert’s sins and her answer is very simple. She was trying to protect Thea’s memory of her father. Moira Queen is as shady as they come, but her desire to protect her children is always the driving force of any decisions she makes – good, bad and the ugly.
Moira: One day I hope you’re lucky enough to have a daughter and then you’ll know why.
This is the essence of motherhood. We will serve ourselves up on a platter and take the brunt of their hurt and anger if we believe it protect or help our children in the long run. Right or wrong - it’s just the gig.
Source: queensarrow.
L*urel and Lance
L*urel and Detective Lance are really Thea’s only hope of avoiding significant jail time and, despite their history, Oliver has no problem groveling at their feet if it means protecting his sister. Luckily for Oliver, this week L*urel likes him, so she’s willing to do Thea a favor.
But her reason for wanting to help Thea turns out have very little to do with Oliver. It’s about Sara. When L*urel looks at Thea she sees all the wild abandon of Sara with all the red flags.
L*urel: For so long you and I have blamed Oliver for Sara's death, but Sara is to blame too.
Detective Lance isn’t too keen on helping Oliver or Thea, but L*urel calls out her father on his hypocrisy. He had no qualms about bailing Sara out after she shop lifted. The youngest Lance daughter seemed to get herself in to trouble long before she ever stepped onto the Queen’s Gambit and her father always helped her avoid the consequences of her actions. Until those consequences finally caught up with her.
This is the first time L*urel lays any blame at Sara’s feet. I find it wildly disturbing whenever I agree with L*urel, but damn it she has this one right. Oliver wasn’t the only one who cheated. Oliver wasn’t the only one who lied. Oliver wasn’t the only one who was selfish. Sara was all of those things too. Just because she paid for those mistakes with her life doesn’t erase the choices she made and the pain she caused. If someone held Sara responsible without destroying her life, like L*urel is trying to do with Thea just maybe she would have never gotten on the boat. Maybe.
The game of “What if?” is a torturous one. It never gives any definitive answers. But Detective Lance refusing to help Thea to stick it to Oliver isn’t fair. L*urel is right. Sure, it may hurt Oliver, but it won’t bring Sara back.
More importantly, it doesn’t hold Sara responsible in any way. Detective Lance is treating Sara the same in death as he did in life. She wasn’t a saint anymore than Thea is – no matter how much Lance romanticizes his memory of his daughter. L*urel and her father don’t resolve the Sara issue, but Lance helping Thea is an important step towards his acknowledgement of the truth and putting some of the blame where it belongs.
Stray Thoughts
Oliver is shirtless and handcuffed in the bunker is an absolutely wasted opportunity for an Olicity sex scene. Pretty sure I read a fic that started like it though. Source: @olivergifs
Bratva Oliver is cold, calculating and stylish. I don’t know what it is about that jacket you guys. It doesn’t things to me.
I say this as a person who was very anti murder throughout the show, but sometimes it’s great to watch Oliver do a little violence.
“Whoever you fear, fear me more!” As vigilante lines go this was a damn good one.
“I’m not the one going to prison.” Give it time, Moira. Give it time.
McKenna Hall makes her first episode appearance as the rotation of female guest stars continues while show desperately searches for a love interest Stephen has chemistry because it ain’t Katie Cassidy. (Psst! You found THE ONE already!!! Call off the search!)
Just for you multifandom folks out there McKenna is also Qetsiyah on The Vampire Diaries.
Why doesn’t Oliver give a sketch to the police of The Count? That could be helpful.
“I don’t need the bow.” Yeah, but you need to walk straight!
Musings of the Kiddo
Kiddo: How many times does he do this to her?
Me: Lie? A lot. She was very patient with him.

Season one: Episode one: The Castlemaster
Felicity breathed in deep as she hit the sand, inhaling the salt breeze. It was nice to get away from her hectic family, even if she temporarily had traded them for a busy beach.
She set down her beach bag and stretched. She wasn't far away from Granveston Main Street, and with thirty bucks and four hours, Felicity was ready to enjoy her day.
Screaming interrupted her dash for the waves, and she slipped to a stop, ankle deep in the waters. At first, all she noticed was that people were screaming and running. Then she noticed the growing mound of sand behind them.
Felicity started to back away, thinking that she needed to get out of the area and help some other people, when the most horrifying thing about the sand monster revealed itself.
The monster, who was shaped like a young girl on a moving sand throne, raised a fist and launched a beam of sand at a running passerby, turning them into a sand sculpture. They were then washed away by the ocean.
Felicity took off running, her water shoes digging into the sand. She left the waterfront and rounded a corner, where she found a group of cowering people huddled in front of a building.
"Why don't you go inside?" She asked, out of breath and confused.
Someone pointed to the door. "It's abandoned, and locked."
Felicity walked over and checked the lock, then checked around. "I don't normally do this, but everyone stand back."
Felicity took a step back, then kicked the locked knob off the door with a jump. She rubbed the back of her heel as the group of people filtered inside.
"Well, that was an impressive use of destruction," a raspy voice said from behind her.
Felicity spun around, panicking. When she didn't see anything right away, she looked around in confusion.
"Come to the alley, slow poke!" The voice called.
Felicity hesitated. Then she proceeded with caution.
She wasn't expecting a floating cat holding a ring to be the one who'd been calling her.
<On the other side of the beach>
Diego Hart was not having a good day. First, his dad woke him up early on the last Saturday of the summer. Then, he was dragged out to the beach, where it was hot, scratchy, and all people did was scream and splash.
And then there was this monster thing.
That was unexpected, but also very inconvenient.
Or was it?
Diego had broken away from his family, equal parts intentionally and accidentally. He hadn't meant to separate, but when you get a chance to get away, well, he wasn't one to say no to fate.
Which put him here. Face to face with a large pinkish... bug? It was flying, so he guessed that was right, though he didn't see any wings.
"Hello, Chosen! I am Tikki, and I will be your Kwami and companion through this next stage of your life!"
"You're helping me get through my last two years of high school?" Diego asked, bewildered. "And what's with this 'Chosen' stuff? Being the chosen one never ends too well in books and movies."
The creature—the kwami—Tikki—blinked. "I chose you to wield my miraculous! The Miraculous of the Ladybug, of creation and healing!"
Diego scrunched his nose. "That sounds like a girl's power."
Tikki crossed her arms(fins???) and pouted. "There have been many male wielders of the Ladybug miraculous. You would be following a legacy, rich with creation and life, and it is not a 'girl's power'."
Diego shrugged. "Can I have an explanation for what exactly all this is?"
Tikki quickly explained the situation, the Miraculous, and his powers. She also told him he may have a partner.
"If Plagg found a suitable one, that is. The Black cat is a tricky one to hand out, and since we can't trust our Guardian.... Well, Plagg is in for some searching." Tikki turned back to him. "I was lucky to find you so quickly! Your use of the beach umbrella was very clever! I knew you were the one at that moment."
Diego felt his face heat up as he recalled the moment the kwami was speaking of. The monster, Castle Crasher, had almost caught up to him, so he had pulled a big beach umbrella out of the sand and used it as a shield. It wasn't something especially creative, but it had just made sense.
"That was just a use of resources," Diego attempted, but Tikki waved him off.
"We can't waste anymore time! Say 'spots on'!"
<With Felicity>
"Claws out?"
With a yelp and a flash of green light, Felicity was transformed into a black cat superheroine. As she examined her new look, she found that her hood covered all her hair, her mask covered all her recognizable features, and she could feel that she was more athletic than she already was.
"Wow," she breathed. A distant crashing brought her back to earth, and she slid her baton out from it's place on her thigh. Guided by a deep instinct, she swiped her thumb across the surface, and it opened like a slide phone.
Another swipe, and it closed. Her fingers found a button, and pushed it. She let out a yelp as it extended and speedily carried her upwards.
"S-stop!" she cried. The baton-staff thing stopped at her cry. She clung to the pole, trying to catch her breath, half wondering how the staff was balancing on it’s tiny surface.
The ground shook, and the staff fell forward. It hit a roof, and Felicity managed to roll forward on impact and get to her feet instantly.
“Woah.”
<Diego>
Diego skeptically examined the dark red magic fabric that now covered his arms.
“I guess it’s plenty tough,” he muttered. Then he pulled out his… weapon. “A yoyo…. I’ve never even touched one of these before… How does it work?”
He tentatively dropped the yoyo down and swung it back and forth a bit. As he got more comfortable with it, it felt more and more natural, and he executed more and more complicated maneuvers with the yoyo.
At the height of the activity, he threw the yoyo forward. When it wrapped around a building ornament and pulled him forward, he was jerked out of his reverie, and he realized just how absurd his situation was.
<Felicity>
Felicity looked up from trying to track down the villain to see a red and black speck in the sky. She narrowed her eyes to see it was getting bigger. It was only when she heard a voice yelling “I’ve been kidnapped by a yoyo!” did she think maybe she should move.
She came to her conclusion too late, unfortunately, and before she could make a move, she was crushed under a warm, red and black weight.
“AGH!”
She pushed against the weight, unable to get a good look thanks to her hood. “Is this some part of the akuma’s powers? Because it’s dumb. Stupid sky debris.”
“I’m not dumb!”
Felicity’s eyes widened at the sound of a fellow teenager. A male one, specifically. With a burst of strength she hadn’t possessed before, she kicked him off and jumped to her feet.
<Diego>
Diego clutched his stomach, reeling from not just one, but two sudden impacts in thirty seconds. He finally peeled apart his eyes to see the cause of the second impact, or rather, who had so forcefully kicked him off.
He got it, it was rude to lay on top of people, but he hadn’t meant to!
He looked her over. On the small end of the average spectrum, or the large side of the petite spectrum, wearing a black suit with a hood over her head, white, and very angry. Or scared. He wasn’t sure which.
“Is there a word for someone both angry and scared?” he wondered, only realizing too late that he’d said it out loud. “I mean--! Uh…. You must be the Black Cat! Tikki told me about… your kwami, I guess. Are we allowed to talk about the kwamis?”
The cat let her guard down, just a little bit. “Plagg didn’t say anything about it. He didn’t tell me about another wielder, though. Who are you?”
He mentally stopped in his tracks.
Don’t say Diego, don’t say Diego, don’t say Diego!
“I’d prefer to go by Escarabajo, if that’s okay.”
“Ah, I figured you were Latino.”
Diego pouted. “I thought I masked it well….”
The cat looked at him. “It’s… a work in progress, Escarabajo.” She turned as a rumble went through the building. “Focus on the akuma, we’ll talk later.”
She took off on her staff, and Diego—no, Escarabajo—followed.
<Felicity>
As long as no one asks me for a name, I’ll be perfect. If I’m given one, that’s different, but I won’t pick one for myself.
She stopped on top of a street lamp, marveling at the ease that she now balanced with. She scanned the streets, pointing out the street that had many sand figures.
“That’s where we need to go, Escarabajo.” She said, turning to see him hanging upside down, looking rather surprised by his new predicament.
He looked at her, his eyes wide. “I could be Spider-man….”
Felicity harrumphed and crossed her arms. “I’m no Mary Jane.”
<Diego>
In his haste to explain as quickly as possible that that wasn’t what he meant when he said that, he’d let go of the yoyo, and fell. Luckily he managed to land on his feet.
“Ow...” When he looked up again, the cat was offering a hand up, though she looked rather exasperated.
“Come on, you can play around later. Let’s deal with the sand castle monster.”
Escarabajo stood up and followed after her.
Following the sound of screaming and a trail of sandy figures, Escarabajo and the feline girl beside him soon caught up to the monster. The girl looked to him, and it slowly dawned on him that she was looking for him to direct her. He hastily thought out a plan and whispered it out to her.
“Can you sneak up on the monster? Tikki says there should be an object that, essentially, controls them and their powers. If we destroy it and capture the nasty butterfly--” Here he made a vague questioning noise before continuing “--We should be able to stop it. I’ll have to purify it. Haven’t quite figured out how.”
The Cat looked at him, her eyes narrowed. “Well, read your manual then. I’m gonna go find the object. I’d bet my tail it’s either the bucket or the shovel.” She leaped away, and Escarabajo nodded absently.
In light of her words, he took the yoyo off his belt, and thumbed it open. As if Tikki had overheard, which she probably had, the user’s manual was highlighted. As he skimmed over the most pertinent sections, he kept an eye on the Cat.
<Felicity>
Felicity snuck up on the villain just fine. She had quietly jumped from one building to the next, to a streetlamp, to the ground, all without any real noise.
The catch was when, despite her best efforts, she disturbed the very edge of the sand. And that alerted the akuma to her presence.
As the akuma stilled, Felicity attempted something she’d never done before but had full confidence she could pull off in the suit. She did a back flip on to a small billboard, and jumped behind it. She held her breath as the villain rumbled closer and closer. The villain missed her by a hair, and continued on it’s rampage.
Felicity kicked into gear. Plagg had said that because of her age, she could use her special power three times, and she knew exactly what to use it on.
She ran parallel to the villain before leaping forward. “Cataclysm!”
She broke the chains holding up a large sign, causing it to fall down and cut off the path the villain was taking. She repeated the process two more times, then dove out of the way, waiting for Escarabajo to do his thing.
She peeked up, and spotted the shovel and pail. She risked glancing behind the villain, and saw Escarabajo coming up behind. She crouched down farther, waiting for the right time.
<Diego>
Escarabajo had watched the Cat’s movements with awe. She was so fluid and confident looking. He noticed, of course, the tenseness she held whenever she was a misstep from being turned to a sand pile, but the grace with which she threaded around the villain was astounding.
Then Diego reminded himself that he was graceful, too. One of the most graceful in his gymnastics class.
“Yeah, it’s just another gym class,” he muttered before jumping into action.
He swung on his yoyo, catching up to the Cat. He saw her trap the villain on three sides, then dive for cover. He threw his yoyo in the air as he got closer, yelling, “Lucky Charm!”
He grabbed the tiny box out of midair and kept running. He glanced around the area, and spotted a few items he thought he could use. He quickly grabbed a red can and a fallen branch with his yoyo. He slipped behind an advertising sign, and took a moment to look at the box in his hand, just to double check.
Yep. Matches.
He poured the liquid over the stick in his hand, and threw both the stick and the box over to where the Cat was, keeping a few matches for himself. He hoisted the can up, then swung forward. As he swung behind the villain, he poured the liquid out of the can, creating a line of gasoline behind the villain.
Then he struck and dropped the matches he was holding.
<Felicity>
Felicity felt the air heat up, and knew she only had a short window. She struck the match, lit the branch, and jumped out of hiding. She swung the branch like a sword, cutting off the sand holding the shovel and pail.
She threw the pail to Escarabajo, and stomped on the shovel. Escarabajo threw his yoyo through the bucket, bursting straight through the bottom before pulling back.
Then he opened up his yoyo, and swung it at the black butterfly that left the broken bucket. The yoyo closed automatically over the insect, and Escarabjo brought it back to him.
He gently pushed the center dot on the yoyo.
<Diego> He watched the butterfly fly out, purified to a bright white. He speaks without even thinking.
“Bye, bye, little butterfly.”
Then he takes the empty matchbox that the Cat offers him, and throws it up into the air, yelling out the curing spell.
As magic ladybugs zip through the city, the Cat heroine walks up beside him, attentive and curious.
“So that’s how we avoid legal trouble. Nice.”
Escarabajo had to take that in, then he glanced at her. “I guess. It’s pretty and convenient.”
She snorted. “Well, was pretty decent working with you. See you around.” She made to leave, but Escarabajo shouted after her.
“Wait! What’s your name?”
She shrugged. “What do you want it to be?”
At his stunned expression, she turned around and leapt away.
Hearing the beeping coming from the studs attached to his wrists, Escarabajo followed her example, swinging up and running across rooftops before people came out to investigate. He made it to the beach and ducked behind the portable toilets before being blinded by pink light, and returning to his normal self.
Tikki flew out of the studs and into his hands. “You did a good job,” she whispered to him. “Now, I need someplace to hide.”
Diego offered her his beach bag.
Tikki hidden, and his Miraculous secured safely on a lanyard, Diego quickly returned to his family.
<Felicity>
Felicity whispered “Claws in” not too far from where she’d cried “Claws out”. Despite not being tired at all, she decided to go home. After all, she could only be gone for so long after something like that before her parents found out and flipped.
Plus she had to get ready for school on Monday, and that was gonna be a pain.

How about a fluff prompt 1. Mixed with a random smut one of your choice bby for Rio.- moon *i forgot to add Rio the first time cause I am dumb today*
warning: slightly steamy
*gif not mine*
Rio came home with one thing on his mind:
You
All week he’d been working late, coming home to you already asleep in bed, looking like an angel
And all week, he’d leave before you woke up, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek before he went
You were on his mind all day
He missed seeing your eyes light up when you looked at him
Missed the sweet sound of your laughter
Fuck, he missed the warmth he found between your legs, and the way you would shudder when you came
So when he was finally able to square away this last bit of business
When he was sure he could afford to take a few days off
Well, he knew exactly how he wanted to spend his off time
He walked in the house just before 10, hoping you’d still be awake
You were
You looked up at him from your spot on the couch, your phone in your hand as you played some mindless game
“You’re home early, baby,” you greeted him, sounding surprised and pleased
You were already in your pajamas--one of his old shirts and Pizza cat pajama pants
Rio felt himself grow hard just at the sight of you and the thought of holding you against him
He shut the door behind him and locked it, his eyes on you the entire time
“I need to be inside you,” he growled, “Right now.”
Your answering grin had him hurrying to you, his hands snatching your clothes off
Rio kissed you, hard, his tongue diving into your mouth as you wrapped your arms around him
He wanted to carry you off to your room and lay you on the bed, take you slow
But you looked and felt so good, and it had been so long
He decided not to push himself and just fuck you on the couch
So he did
After, you laid on his chest, both of you naked and out of breath, your bodies slick with sweat
“I love you, you know that?” He said, his voice low and rough
You looked down at him, nothing but love in your eyes
“Love you too”
He kissed the top of your head, and you laid back down on his chest, letting the beating of his heart lull you to sleep
Eventually, he’d have to take you to bed and let you rest, but he was in no rush
Especially since he would have the whole morning with you too
Rio smiled at the thought of it, looking forward to having you for breakfast

My Shiny Teeth and Me
Quick idea I had after seeing the story and post about Flo going to the dentist while he’s in Australia (which was adorable lol) and I hope you guys like it☺️!
Pairing: Florian MunteanuxBlack Reader
Warning(s): None, all fluff💕
“Lennox! C’mon buddy or you’re gonna be late for the dentist.” Holding the small Spider-Man backpack in his hand, he waits on the other side of the playground fence for the four-year-old to finish saying bye to all his friends, smiling to himself at how adorable the pre-schooler looked.
“Mommy can’t come?,” he asks, small hand being completely enveloped by Florian’s as they crossed the parking lot.
“No not this time, remember she’s still at work but is gonna meet us after to eat ok?”
“Ok,” he replies with a pout as he’s buckled in his car seat.
“Hey don’t look so sad, we’re still gonna have fun!,” he smiles, tickling him under his chin until he begins squirming in his seat from his fit of giggles.
Knowing how nervous he was, Florian tried his best to make Lennox laugh or get his mind off of what was coming the whole car ride to the appointment. However, he wasn’t really up for fun right at the moment.
Like most kids his age, he was afraid of the dentist and had been despising this day since the last appointment when he found out he’d have to come again. It also didn’t help that his mom wouldn’t be there, who usually would take him to his appointments and hold his hand to make him feel better.
Both you and Florian told him that he would hold his hand and comfort him, but Lennox still wanted you there. Although he didn’t say anything about it, you were sure that he probably felt some type of way from his son treating you as if you were the favorite parent.
Walking through the wooden doors of the office, Lennox clings onto his dad’s leg as he walks up to sign him in.
“Hey Mr. Munteanu, how’s everything?,” Dr. Edwards asks while walking another patient out.
“Good! But Lennox is still a bit nervous,” he answers whispering the last part. Holding on as if he were a scared cat caught in a tree, Lennox buries his face behind his father’s knee.
“I see, well Lennox I promise it won’t hurt. I’m just gonna clean your teeth so they can stay healthy.”
“Right, and I’ll be there too so nothing will happen to you.”
Taking turns looking from Florian to the dentist, he slowly let’s go and moves to stand beside him. “Ok, I’m ready.”
Following Dr. Edwards to the exam room, Lennox sits in the chair fiddling with his hands as he nervously looks at the tools on the table beside him.
“I know you’re still a bit nervous so how about I do a quick exam on your dad so you can see what all I do? You can even help me if you want?”
Handing him the tool with the small mirror on it, the small child slightly perks up at this idea as he nods his head.
“Great! First let’s look in his mouth with the mirror to make sure we don’t see anything bad,” he explains helping Lennox guide the tool around Florian’s mouth.
“I don’t see anything how about you Dr. Lennox?”
“Nope! All clean!,” he answers handing the tool back to Dr. Edwards. “Good job tata!”
“Next, we’d use this tool to get in between the teeth to get out anything stuck like food. Then if everything’s ok, we’d start brushing with this.”
Watching him hold up the humming tool, Lennox nervously grabs Florian’s hand letting out a soft whimper.
“It’s ok! See it doesn’t hurt.” Holding out his hand, he lets Dr. Edwards use the electric toothbrush on his hand, circling it around a couple times to show nothing would happen.
After watching his dad for a few minutes, he holds out his hand so the dentist can do the same to him.
“So do you think you can sit in the chair like a big boy and get your teeth cleaned?,” Florian asks, lightly playing with the curls on top of Lennox’s head.
“...yea I think so.”
———
“MOMMY!!! I’M BIG LIKE TATA!!” Running up to you when you got close enough to the table, Lennox jumps into your arms hugging you tight.
“You are! I take it the dentist went well?,” you ask leaning over to kiss Florian as you sit down.
“It did, he helped the dentist check my teeth so he could get comfortable, and then he sat in the chair and said he was ready.”
“Yea I was a big boy!! And I got a sticker and toothbrush!” Holding up his plastic bag, he shows you his new lime green toothbrush, travel sized toothpaste, floss, and Spider-Man sticker.
“Oh wow that’s great love! I’m so proud of you!!,” you smile kissing his forehead.
“And then after, tata went to Krispy Kreme and got us do-,”
“Ok buddy let’s let mommy order her food yea?,” Florian interrupts gently covering the small child’s mouth making him giggle.
“Be glad I’m too excited about him not being afraid anymore that I’ll ignore the donuts,” you smirk, glancing at Florian before looking at the menu to figure out what you wanted.
“Mommy I want tata to always take me. We have fun!,” Lennox smiles before starting to color in his small booklet.
“Oh ok, yea that’s fine love.” Although you were smiling, you couldn’t lie and say that it didn’t hurt how he seemingly didn’t need or want you to go with him anymore. Clearly reading your mood, Florian slides your chair closer to him and wraps an arm around your shoulders.
“Babe it’s ok, he loves you and will still want you to take him.”
“Yea I know, but it’s like I’ve been replaced,” you slightly pout lying your head on his arm as you watch your son in his own little world continue coloring.
“Well remember what you told me, although it may seem like it Lennox doesn’t have a favorite parent and loves us equally.”
“That was when I was the favorite though,” you reply making Florian laugh in his signature boisterous style.
“Then maybe you’d still be the favorite if you bought him donuts,” he smirks before sitting back and sipping his water as you smack at his chest.

Top 30 Arrowverse Storylines we never got to see:
30. Ray and Barry as Friends hanging out and superheroing together (The Flash/Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow)
I am not really sure why this never happend. Grant wanted it, Brandon wanted it, the fans wanted it, but somehow Ray ended up not even getting invited to Barry’s Wedding, while Sara, who never even interacted that much with Barry before, did. „All Star Team Up“ did work very good and showed that Ray was quite a good fit for Team Flash, but when „Legends“ came along letting those two character interact outside of Crossover became a problem, but still the writers could have them have interact more during the Crossovers or at least, you know, have Barry invite Ray to his Wedding!
29. Jacob finding out thaz Kate is Batwoman at a point where it still matters (Batwoman)
Seeing how Anti-Batwoman Jacob was, it would have been a very big moment when he would finally find out that Kate is the one wearing the mask. One can argue that is was still a big moment, but Alice telling him flat out when Kate is not around anymore does not have the same impact or consequences this storyline was supposed to have. It would have been interesting to see if he would have changed his tune (probably) and how much. In the comic Kate’s Father is actually one of her biggest supporters Batwoman-wise, and while I don’t think that we would have gotten to this point quickly, it would have been interesting to see the Crows working with the real Batwoman with Jacob’s grudging permission and what impact this revelation would have had on his relationship to his daughter.
28. Laurel Lance Lives (Arrow)
Laurel was never supposed to die, but the writers were pressured into killing her of, so Oliver could be with Felicity instead. But you can’t just kill of the Black Canary! She is arguable one of the most important female superheroes of DC Comics, maybe the most important one right after Wonder Woman. Which is why we got a whole line up of new Black Canarys after her death. But the Original One (not counting Sara, who never actually called herself that on the show, I mean we don’t refer to Shado and her father as Green Arrow either, do we?) was the best one and was the Female Lead of the show and would have deserved to go to amazing places after Season 4 and would have gone there if she had had the chance. Too bad shipping is more important than storylines, characters, and legacy to The CW, Warner, and DC.
27. „Green Arrow and the Canaries“ Spin-Off (Arrow)
We waited almost a year for the news that this is not happening after all, after everyone pretending it’s a go for a very long time. Which is a major disappointment. Not so much because the show would have been that great - the Backdoor Pilot did not look like it - but because many storylines remained unresolved and will probably continue to remain that way because of the cancelation, inculding William’s abduction, the question who gave JJ his memories back and why, the whole mystery about Dinah and the Black Canary, and the question what Laurel is really up to. It’s said that not the whole show would have taken place in the future and there would have been a Laurel Storyline in the present, but in any case it would have been „Arrow“s Legacy Show, where many of the characters from the old show could have popped up, not only those features in the Backdoor Pilot, and it would have finally given the Canaries the spotlight they deserve and the Shadowhunter-Fans another show to watch, so in short: Why make false promises for over a year, if you are not willing to deliver? Not cool.
26. Kara‘s and Kate’s friendship replaces Barry‘s und Oliver’s after Crisis on Infinite Earths (Supergirl/Batwoman)
Marc Guggenheim promised us this when „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ aired and the world was still sane. Things were looking really good for the Arrowverse, and no one had any idea the world’s newest health crisis would turn life into „mere existing because suicide is bad“. At this point pregnancy, Shut-Down, unfinished seasons, Melissa not extending her contract, and Ruby Rose exiting hers were unthinkable. We should have at least gotten one more Crossover which would have delivered on this promise – in the current season to be exact. But someone decided not to recast Kate Kane because of their Super Ego, so no .. this only happend Off-Screen in Season 1 of „Batwoman“ and that’s it. I am not even sure Kate will be mentoned in the final season of „Supergirl“ at all, however even if the „Whatever happend to Kate Kane“-Storyline should get resolved in Season 6 of „Supergirl“ rather then in „Batwoman“ that would be the end of that and in no way be a worthy heir to the epic seven years spanning Olivarry Friendship.
25. „Supergirl“ and „Superman& Lois“ airing side by side
That was the dream. Has been the dream for fans since Season 2 of „Supergirl“ when Tyler first appeared, and has been the plan of the producers since around „Elseworlds“ when they started planning the Spin-Off. Now, Covid and Pregnancy combined and pushed Season 6 of „Supergirl“ backt to who-know-when, while „Superman & Lois“ got a much shorter season then it would have gotten under normal curcumstances, so they won’t air on the same night or even during the same period of time. Which also means that all those mini-crossovers we would have gotten – remember back when „The Flash“ first started and how many Characters from „Arrow“ ended up crossing over into the new show? – won’t be happening now. Which is a shame and very frustrating.
24. „The Atom“ Spin-Off (Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow)
Now, this one was fist mentoned when Ray Palmer showed up in „Arrow“ back in Season 3. Instead we got „Legends of Tomorrow“ with him as the de-facto Male Lead in it. Which was probably the better Spin-Off then, but now Ray has left„Legends“, they did introduce Ryan Choi, and yes, if I could pick the Spin-Off I would want to see right now, it would be „Atoms“ starring both Ray and Ryan along with their wives. I have no idea how Fairy Godmother Nora would fit into „The Atoms“, but I am sure if one tried, one would find a way. But of course there is no way this is happening anytime soon or anytime at all. Not only because Brandon is now in „The Rookie“, but mainly because someone behind the scenes is clearly pushing for baggage-less Spin-Offs like „Wonder Girl“ or „Nomi“. We did not get „Green Arrow and the Canaries“, might not even get „Painkiller“, and are most definitly not getting an „Atom“-Spin-Off. Which is just wrong and missed opportunity in the size of the Moon.
23. Harry and H.R.-Team Up (The Flash)
I never expected the Arrowverse Shows to be „Orphan Black“, but until recently they had all those Doppelgangers and hardley ever did something with them. Now Harry and H.R. are the only Main Characters ,with whom the writers actually did something with the fact those two are Doppelgangers and around at the same time, but to be honest, this makes it even worse, the carving for those two to meet, interact, and riff of each other. Because they actually worked well together, and it’s a shame they never got a storyline o rat least en episode where they had to team up and so something together. The Council of Wells is nice, but mainly just for fun. H.R. is the least Wells like Wells, and Harry everyone’s favorite Wells (Eobard does not count), so why did no one ever write something great for those two before they went and killed H.R. off?
22. Sam sacrifces herself tos top Reign and Alex adopts Ruby (Supergirl)
First of all, I do like Sam, I didn’t want her to die. But the problem is that literally everything about Season 3 was building toward this. Normally everyone bitches about the writers killing off characters, but in this case, it was a grave mistake not to kill off someone. Sam’s Guilt about Reigns crimes, Alex’s bond with Ruby – all of this was literally for nothing and stopped dead with Sam not dying. Somehow getting rid of Reign magically solved everything for Sam (or not, because she was written out between Seasons, we don’t really know if she ever got over her trauma), while Alex’s Adoption Storyline went nowhere and was put on indefinite hold after that one episode in Season 4, where she almost got a baby. Worse, the writers actually admitted that they had planned this, but then changed their minds because they did not want to take a mother from her child. Which just means they were and are cowards – if you compare „Supergirl“ to the other Arrowverse Shows, there is one major difference and it’s exactly that one – only villains and side-characters die on „Supergirl“ (and M’yrnn whose storyline bascially was dying), in other words less heartbreak but also less courage is found here.
21. Nora dates Spencer Young (The Flash)
Spencer Young was conceived as Nora’s Love Interest, who was to lure her into the Young Rogues at a later point of this season, but something went awry behind the scenes with the actress it seems, so the storyline was pushed back and back, and Spencer was replaced in every episode she was meant to be in after the first one by other characters, until she was eventually dropped alltogether and Bug Eyed Bandit got her gadget, so that a least some of that storyline could get a pay off. As for Nora’s Rogue Love Interest Weather Witch ended up getting this role, which just about works, but given that there is no real foundation there, the romance was only implied and never took off, which is too bad for the shows‘s Queer Record.
20. Cat remains Kara‘s boss (Supergirl)
„Supergirl“ has changed so much over the years, that is actually kind of impossible to say how the show would have turned out, if certain elements would have sticked around. One of the biggest casulties of the change in style and tone was the loss of Cat Grant as a regular character, and it’s hard to say what the show would have looked like after the first Season, if she stuck around, but it would sure looked have very different. Now I am not so sure we would have gotten Lena Luthor the same way into the show we got her in reality, if Cat wouldn’t have left, but there is no telling, after all Lena quickly went from a kind of mentor character to a female friend, so maybe not much about this would have changed. However James‘ Storylines and all the back and forth with who is owning and running CatCo would of course not have happend like that either, and I think „Supergirl“ would in the end have been a more coherent show because of that. Plus Cat was the best character in the show and having her around would have made everything better anyways.
19. Anissa meets the other Heroes of the Arrowverses (Black Lightning/ The Other Shows)
This could still happen in the next season or so, if the actress is willing to go to Canada and come back to Anissa Pierce after the end of „Black Lightning“, but even if it happens, it wouldn’t be the same. Due to curcumstances „Black Lightning“ ending up on Earth Prime was just for cosmetics, which is sad, because what’s the point of a Shared Superheroes-Verse if your characters can’t interact? Am I the only one who would have wanted Anissa to meet Kate (never going to happen now), Sara, Barry and Kara? I don’t think so. Sadly it wasn’t to be.
18. Iris and Kara have a Journalist Team-Up (The Flash/Supergirl)
This is the one thing fans have been asking for, the producers pretended to listen to, but still ignored. It could happen during the current season, but I have my doubts. The window has closed, and no one knows why this never happened. We did have Iris team up with Lois and Clark during Crisis though to recrut the Paragon of Truth, which was a Journalist Storyline, if you will, but all the fans always wanted both Iris and Kara to have actual Journalist Storylines, but we rarley got them. Yes, teaming up on an Inverstigative Story was always difficult while they were living on different earths, but it would haven been possible nevertheless. And on Earth Prime even more, but no, it was more important to do that endless Mirrorverse Storyline than to have, I don’t know, Iris and Kara break an Investigative Story about Lex to bring him down. Well, maybe we will get another Iris/Lois-Team Up with Journalism rather than Multiverse Saving Topics instead at a later point, but we sadly won’t get a Iris/Kara/Lois Team Up like that.
17. Amaya meets Charlie (Legends of Tomorrow)
I don’t know why they did not do that. After all Charlie pretend to be Amaya in Season 4 so often, it kind of would be obvious to have them meet at some point. It’s the same actress for God’s sake! But I guess the main reason we never saw that was that „Legends“ has short seasons. Season 4 had only 16 episodes and Season 5 only 15, of which one was the Crossover, so only 14 they could use, and they just ran out of space to insert a meeting between those two ladies that would have had any reason to happen beyond the fact that fans would have wanted it to happen. I am normally all for things happening for storyline reasons and not only for them to just happen, but in this case, I would just have taken it happending without any compelling reason.
16. Leo meets Leonard (The Flash/Legends of Tomorrow)
I would have payed extra-money for this to happen. But I do get why it didn’t happen, because if you come right down to it, we only had Leo for five episodes across two shows, two of those episodes being part of the Crossover, which left three episodes, that really had other things to do than to bring back Leonard just to have him meet Leo. On the other hand those two were so different, it should have been an obligation for the writers to make it happen somehow. Maybe at least in a vision or a dream or something like that. Gah, I wish Wenworth Miller would just come back in the flesh as any of those two to our shows….
15. Joe and Cecile as Older Parents for a Newborn (The Flash)
This Season 5 Storyline was cut short, when Jesse L. Martin had to take medical leave from the show. Which is too bad, because it was the very reason why Cecile became a Main Character in the first place, and was an important part of the original Seaon 5 plan, which would have three sets (or rather two and a half sets) of parents: Barry and Iris, Joe and Cecile, and Orlin. Now we got a sort of aimless Cecile for the most part of the season, and the very problem the show actually wanted to avoid in the first place: Jenna merely existing, but not being there for most of the time (but this got way worse in Season 6, if we are honest). Real Life can really be a bitch sometimes.
14. A Flashback about Sara joining the Legaue of Assassins (Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow)
We were promised this before Season 3 of „Arrow“ aired. Of course the only reason we were promised this was to obscure the fact that Sara would be killed of in the premiere. Same for all those fotos featuring her a part of the main cast and all that jazz. Still, Caity was contracted for Season 3 and showed up in a handful of episodes, but all we got was Maseo saying that he joined the League around the same time Sara did. Since then Sara came back to life, and we still have not gotten that flashback. Why? I know the initial statement was a purposeful lie, but that does not mean we did not want to see that. On the contrary we have been waiting for this since Season 2 of „Arrow“! And we are still waiting. But it does not look like we are ever going to get it.
13. Oliver meets Jefferson (Arrow/Black Lightning)
I am kind of miffed about that. I wanted Oliver and Jefferson to growl at eacht other, showing us who is better at it. Jefferson only came into Crisis after Oliver was already dead and did point out in Part 5 himself that he never met the man. But he should have. The two oldest Arroverse-Vigilantes apart from the Bat should really have met, just because they are the first ones. But now it will never happen, even if Oliver comes back somehow. (Unless the the new Crossover Strategy is bringing back the characters from the shows that are not around anymore, and future Crossovers will feature Oliver, Kara, Jefferson and his daugthers in the still existing shows instead of having characters from the still existing shows meet, which I kind of doubt, but if that leads to them meeting, I will take it.)
12. Pay Off for the Tommy Elliott Storyline (Batwoman)
Given how much of Season 1 built that storyline up, an actual pay off would have been nice. But instead the storyline got killed off in the first episode of the new season. And now, before you argue: no, that was not Pay Off. Pay Off would haven been someone other then Luke, who was close to Bruce and knows he was Batman (like his loving cousin called Kate, you know) interacting with Fake Bruce. For episodes. Tommy actually knew Bruce pretty well, so he might have been able to pull a long con. Maybe Kate would have believed him, but Luke would have gotten distrustful, or the other way around, and this would have lead to friction between those two. And maybe this storyline would have eventually even led to the real Bruce Wayne or at least to a clue of his whereabouts. Like I said: Pay Off and not Kill Off. Wouldn’t that have been something.
11. Laurel comes back (Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow)
Everyone got resurrected in the last episode of „Arrow“, except for Earth-1 Laurel because of the whole „There can be no more Doppelgangers“ business. Now I really don’t see why we can’t just have both of them, but the real kicker is, that the main reason Laurel-1 was not brought back is the Spin-Off, that never was, „Green Arrow and the Canaries“, that was supposed to star Earth-2 Laurel. Now that Spin Off was not picked up after all, and Marc Guggenheim stated that they probably would have brought Original Laurel back in the Finale if it weren’t for the Backdoor-Pilot. Now of course Laurel 2 was the MVP of Season 8, so it would have been a mistake to let her cease into nothingness in the Finale. But they could have just shown her alive and well on another earth in a scene and have Earth 1 Laurel in the other scenes instead. But why did they never bring her back before that? I mean, there was a whole subplot around that in „Legends of Tomorrow“ which ended with Sara not bringing her back, which would be alright, if it weren’t for the fact that another lost sibling that couldn’t be brought back came back on „Legends“, namely Zari’s brother Behrad, which yes, deleted Zari from the timeline and replaced her with a new version of herself, so it wasn’t a cheap fix, but it is just one more reason to be miffed about the fact that Laurel obviously was not important enough to anyone to be brought back anywhen in „Arrow“ or „Legends of Tomorrow“. But maybe there is still hope, I mean two alternate Versions of Laurel were introduced in „The Flash“, so maybe she can still come back there, or at some point in „Legends“ as long as the show is still around.
10. Ralph and Sue get together and become Partners in every sense (The Flash)
This could of course still happen sometimes down the road, if they do recast Ralph after all, or if Hartley is allowed to come back at some point. Or they could just say it in a random episode that only features Sue. However, it won’t be in the way the the show has beeing building toward since Season 5 (actually 4, but that’s not the point). Back when Sue was introduced, we were blown by the chemistry between those two, dreaming about their own Spin-Off etc. and what has become of it? 2020 destroyed so much….
9. Two Zaris for Good (Legends of Tomorrow)
Tala wanted that, the fans wanted that, even the writers kind of wanted it and thought about doing it, but in the end, like I mentoned before, „Legends of Tomorrow“ is not „Orphan Black“. „Legends“ already is the most complex Arrowverse Show to shoot, having Tala do double duty for good would have complicated the shooting process even more. Still we love both Zaris, and while it’s understandbale and even right to focus on Zari Tarazi for now, Zari Tomaz is better not gone for good. We might get two Zaris at the end of Zari’s storyline anyway, but until then the best we can hope for is a Caitlin/Killer Frost situation, which might be a problem for both Nate and John, and also is not likely to happen soon, so, yeah, that would have been great, but we are never going to get it.
8. Ronnie and Eddie return from the Singularity (The Flash)
Well, yes technically Eddie is dead, but his body was sucked into the Singularity, which did not need to happen, if they just wanted to kill him. And Ronnie never actually died, he just was sucked into the Singularity, never seen again, and assumed to be dead (well, without a Partner to replace Martin to merge with him, he should have died by now, but let’s ignore that for a moment). Anyhow the fact that those were sucked in, but Jay’s Helmet came through it, led to the believe that there would be consequences to those two being sucked into the Wormhole. But nothing ever came from it. Not even for one of those two. Season 2 did go down a very different route, and while we are still waiting today to learn what actually happened to those two, it does not look like we are ever going to find out. Which is strange, considering how much time was spend emphasizing this stroryline in the earlier seasons.
7. Chas returns (Constantine/ Legends of Tomorrow)
It’s still not confirmed „Constantine“ took place on Earth-1, but we always assumed it. And also Chas was refered to in Season 5 of „Legends of Tomorrow“, and let’s face it: John Constantine without his Chas is just not right. Aside from the fact that Chas‘ „Constantine“ Storyline is still unresolved, John need his oldest friend in his life. So not only fans of the „Constantine“ Series would really love to see Chas Chandler on „Legends“. But sadly I doubt this will ever happen - with any actor that is.
6. Lois and Clark as Parents of Baby Jonathan in „Superman & Lois“
This was after all the initial promise. That the show would pick up where „Lois and Clark“ ended, with the pair as parents, but as parents of a baby not of teenagers. And it was set up this way. Of course we know all the reasons: The claim that Action Series with Leads who have a baby do not work, the problems revolving around Babies and Little Children on Set, the need to write for actual characters instead of mute crying little things, and the fact that storylines for older kids are more interesting than for younger ones, but while we understand all of that and recognize „Superman & Lois“ will be the more interesting show with Teenage Sons in it, the fact remains it is not the show we were promised.
5. Sydney Palmer (Legends of Tomorrow)
This was set up in Season 1, Brandon did talk about it with the writers and was expecting it to happen as much as we did, and then … nothing. Now he is gone from the show, and we will never get to meet his illusive twin brother. Everything concerning Syndey is strange, starting with the fact he never seemed to be around, even when Ray was a kid. Of course this might be because the Palmers had a „every parent takes one twin“ situation going on, but even if you consider the fact that Ray und Sydney obvioulsy weren’t on good terms, the fact remains everything about him is weird. There even is fan therory that Ray does not have a brother, and Sydney actually is his alternate personality. Which at least makes more sense than the fact that we never got to see him.
4. The „Whatever happend to Mon-El“- Flashback in Season 3 (Supergirl)
Normally, if a main character disappears for a certain amount of time, and then turns up again, and the stuff he or she had beeing doing in-between is important for the current storyline of the season, we are told what he or she has been doing, and I don’t mean in words, we are talking about television after all, it’s show not tell. This is why I did assume that we would get at least one episode in Season 3, that would show us what happened to Mon-El in the future. At least a flashback subplot in an episode. Something for God’s sake! But I waited and waited and waited – and nothing, not a single scene. Now they did have the Legion Cruiser, they could just have used that set, and they could have only shown us Imra and Brainy, if there was no other way, but we did not even get that. I never understood why we have never ever gotten to see a single scene in the future, where three of our main heroes have spend a significant amount of their time in, why we never got to see someone from the Legion who isn’t Mon-El, Winn, Brainy or Imra (at this point we never even got to see Nura!), but this particular storyline was teased and actually essential to Season 3, and it still never happened via images, and that I really never understood. There is just no excuse for it.
3. General Eiling hunting Meta-Humans (The Flash)
Whatever happened to this storyline? I guess the Singularity sucked it up. I don’t think they even picked it up in Tie-In Comics or Novels. It went away when Clancy Brown declined to come back, I guess, but I am not so sure they even asked him. You see, even if the argument was, that he was too traumatized from Grodd to go after Meta-Humans any more (which he wasn’t, we all saw the last scene with him), some underling could just as easy have taken over. I mean Eiling knew about at least two Meta-Humans personally, Barry and Martin, and had kidnapped Firestorm in the past, and cleary did not learn anything from his run in with Grodd, which only came about because Eobard thought he was too dangerous and knew too much to be running around freely, but Barry and the others did set him free at the end of Season 1. Even if he would have been too thankful to come after Team Flash, why wouldn’t he come after all the criminal Meta-Humans out there? This storyline was cleary set up for Season 2 and then dropped like pretty much almost everything else in Season 2 that had been set up to be continued before. Lazy! I know it’s kind of X-Men, but the military going after Meta-Humans kind of was a Must Happen that never happened. But there might just be something along those lines happening in Season 7. However it does not invovle General Eiling or anything else related to the Earth-1 storylines, I fear.
2. Green Arrow and Black Canary as Street Fightning Hero Partners – with an without masks (Arrow)
This was the initial promise of the Pilot and all of Season 1 and still remained a promise until that episode of Season 4, I guess. Everyone who knew anything about Green Arrow was expecting this from the show, instead we got what we got, which has not very much to with the actual Green Arrow or DC Comics. I mean. we kind of got a brief glimps at it in Season 2 with Sara and Oliver, but that didn’t last very long. However the writers were still fighting for that end-goal, when Season 5 rolled around, because it sure seemed like Dinah Drake was considered as a Love Interest for Oliver at the beginning. But nothing ever came of it, and Dinah even gave up the Black Canary inbetween, so … no, we never got this, only ever on Earth-2 with Adrian-2 und Laurel-2, where he even called her Pretty Bird. In the end this is the initial broken promise, the first lie of the Arrowverse, and it would be the gravest one, if it weren’t for a certain other Arrowverse-Show that bascially died between Season 1 and 2.
1. An actual proper Season 2 of „Batwoman“
Do I even have to say it? I can’t even blame Ruby Rose for that, if I were in her shoes, I would have left too. The person I blame is Caroline Dries. Not only did she not recast Kate Kane, no she also refused to make an established character into the new Batwoman. Politics is only one reason. Sophie Moore is black after all. The other reason is an oversized ego. She wanted to create her own superhero. Which is fine, if you make your own show, but not if you replace your main hero, who your whole show revolved around, after one Season with an Original Character and in the same instance kill off your own story. It would have been better to cancel the show than to do this. I mean, what’s the point? It’s not like Alice can’t function without Kate, but why should we care about the things she does anymore, when her main nemesis is just gone?( Ignoring the fact that she is going to be replaced by Black Mask as the main villlain of the show in this season anyway.) Literally everyone in the show was defined by their relationship to the Wayne-Kane-Family and/or the two Bats. Bringing in someone from the outside does just not make any kind of sense. I mean Luke has a sister in the comics, who actually was Batwoman in an Alternate Realitiy, just saying. So yes, this is the gravest broken promise of all the Arrowverse: The promise that we would actually get a second Season of „Batwoman“, which we did not get, no matter what The CW and Caroline Dries and even Greg Berlanti the traitor are calling the Adventures of Ryan WhatsherFace Wilder.

Wedding plan,
Requested: No / Yes
Synopsis: George need Eleanore to make his ex jealous. Things go further than they both planned.
Word Count: 2,320
A/N: This is an idea for a film I was writing, I hadn’t worked on it on years but wanted to turn it into a George fic cause I love the concept. This hasn’t been proof read,
To begin this, I need to relive the worst time of my life. The time my girlfriend of six years dumped me, out of nowhere.
And to add insult to injury her older sister invited me to her wedding, with an additional plus one…
So, I devised a plan to get her back, a plan which involved my best friend. Eleanore,
To begin I needed to get Eleanore and our friend Michael to agree to come with me, and that meant crashing their movie night.
Through the door to their apartment I could hear the music of Friday the thirteenth playing, and knowing how much Eleanore and Michael scare, I took it as an opportunity.
As I slammed the door open Michael and Eleanore jumped, Eleanore throwing popcorn everywhere.
“I know how I'm winning her back.” I stride into the living room, throwing the door closed behind me.
“Bugger,” Michael moaned picking popcorn out of his wine glass. I sit in front of them on the coffee table.
“Katherine, I know how I’m winning her back.” Eleanore picks popcorn out of her hair, throwing some of the kernels at me.
“Yippie,”
“Who are you again?” Michael snorts. I open my mouth to reply only to be cut off by Michael. “You kind of look like our old friend George, except our old friend George ditched us for some girl and her magical vagina,” Michael stands and sways past me into the kitchen,
“C’mon Michael, she’s not just some girl.”
“He’s right Michael,” I look over to her and give her an appreciative smile. “The world girl isn't being properly used, Medusa may be a closer match?”
“Hey now, c’mon,”
“But you're right. He does have similar features to Michael, for example this one also looks like a total dickhead.” She deadpanned.
“Look I'm sorry guys. I am. I know I've been a shit mate these last couple of weeks.”
“Eight,” Michael called from the kitchen.
“What?”
“Couple means two, you've been a shit mate for longer than that.” Michael finishes, I look at Eleanore who nods her head in confirmation.
“Fine. Eight weeks. Thank you Michael. And I'm sorry for that but guys. I need to see her.”
“She won't see me. Please.” Michael walks out from the kitchen and sits beside Eleanore on the couch. “Please.”
“Fine, What’s your plan?” I pull the envelopes out of my top pocket and hold them towards him.
“This.”
“You're going to write her a letter.” Eleanore raises her eyebrow.
“Bit tame, don't you think mate?” Michael chuckles.
“No, Felicity and Michael's wedding party. She'll be there as Bridesmaid, and we'll be there as guests.”
“But we weren't invited.” Eleanore clicks her fingers and points at Michael in agreement.
“But you were.” I fan the envelopes open, revealing the other two. Eleanore reaches forward and grabs the two addressed for Michael and herself.
“Whose Felicity again?”
“You know this is criminal offence?” Eleanore spoke at the same time as Michael.
“You know Felicity. She used to come to all the parties... She used to be…” I looked to Eleanore for help .
“Bigger…"
“O.” Michael studies his invitation before looking up to me. “I mean sure, you can show up to this thing looking like a total dish, but that's not really going to do anything to her is it? Not going to make her see what a narky cow she's been.”
“I dunno, I suppose I was just going to show up, and show her I've changed.”
“That won't work. It's not going to get her blood pumping is it? Make her jealous.” Michael smirked before he looked to Eleanore. “Eleanore can be your date. For all Katherine knows in the time since she left you, you've gone and coozied up to Elle.”
“Yes, then when the wedding comes we can spend the week in Scotland showing her I've changed, and break up at the reception.” Eleanores face shifts to one of disgust.
“You're mad. You think I want to spend a week in Scotland helping you win back your crazy ex-girlfriend.”
“Please Nore, you're the only one who could make it happen.”
“No I'm bloody not. She hates me, if anything that'll turn her against you even more, idiot.”
“She's a point there mate.” Michael clicks his fingers. I kneel in front of Eleanore and hold onto her hands.
“She doens't hate you. She just isn't your biggest fan.” I began to plead. “Please. I love her, and I need to win her back.”
“Give me one good reason why I should help you."
“I'll give you two. One, you're my closest friends, two because I love her Eleanore. I need her with me.”
“No,” She stands up and walks towards the kitchen. I share a look with Michael.
“... Thomas will be there.” Michael coo’s, Eleanore stops, spins slightly.
“I'm listening.”
“Well, you and Thomas still have that super weird, sexual tension right?”
“You mean their game of cat and mouse they play?” I turned to Michael and raised an eyebrow.
“It's not cat and mouse.”
"Then what would you call it?” I turned back to her.
“Mutual use.”
“Well, why don’t you and George both mutually use each other?” Michael smirked.
And that’s how we ended up here. My best friend Eleanore and I have spent the last four days hanging off one and other, all to irritate our ex’s, or in Elle’s case, 'ignite something in their loins’
I watched her from across the room as I rolled the joint between my fingers, gently rolling the thin cylindrical roll of goodness.
“Turn on some music,” I called from my side of the room as I brought the wrapping to my lips, licking the open end of it.
“On it,” Eleanore opened the window behind her, the cool chill of the Scottish night rushing over me. “Brings back memories doesn’t it?” I heard her call, eliciting a chuckle from behind me.
“All the way back to our first year of University,” I heard her move to the floor where we’d created a nest of cushions and pillows and flip on the stereo. “You know, I always thought it’d be you and I,” I admitted, the wine from the nights dinner going to my head.
“What?”
“Second year of University. Remember we lived with Michael, Morgan, and Freddie in that shitty little house.” I looked at her, laying in the bed we’d made. Her cheeks flushed from the wine we’d drunk.
“Course I remember,” I smiled, the warmth of the memories rushing through me as she looked at me.
“You always used to sneak into my bedroom late at night, after parties.” I finished rolling, “We’d sit out on the roof smoking cheap cigarettes and talk for hours about nothing.” I pulled out a lighter, “To me… back then it was everything.”
“George…"
”First time I met you, I promised myself that I would never fall in love with you, but it was three in the morning and we were laughing way too hard at something stupid,” I walked over and lay beside her, the now lit joint hanging from my lips. “And for the first time in a long time I felt happy, And that’s when I knew I was screwed.”
“Why didn’t you tell me back then?” I passed her the joint,
“I couldn’t lose you.” I gripped her hand as she put the joint between her lips and inhaled. “And then you started to date Thomas. God do you know what it’s like to feel that way about someone who doesn’t feel like that about you?” She slowly let the smoke out as I digested what I’d admitted.
“It’s like drowning, but you won’t fucking drown.” I moved beside her, turning to look at her. God she’s beautiful.
“Who did you love?” She turned to face me, our noses brushing.
“You,” She whispered. “Third year, after Thomas and I broke up for the first time and you’d just started dating Katherine…” She cleared her throat. “You weren’t home a lot… But when you were I sat there, three o’clock in the morning on top of the roof smoking cheap shitty cigarettes, falling in love with you. Your face, your voice. All of you,” I turned away from her, She didn’t move she was still looking at my face.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” I whispered.
“Like you, I was afraid of losing you. I’d become so attuned to having you in my life, that the thought of you being anywhere else scared the utter shit out of me.” I turned to look at her again.
“You and I are just one big ‘it’s complicated’ aren’t we?” She let out another buff.
“I think we’re just going to have to be secretly in love with each other, and leave it at that.” The music stops, I look away from Eleanore, she looks towards the stereo. One of us is going to have to move.
“Not it,” I cried quickly.
“Fucking christ, It’s closest to you George.” I shrug and takes the joint from her lips, popping it between my own.
“I won, you move.” She groaned and rolled her body. She was partially laying onto of me as she began reaching above to grab the speaker.
“Jesus, just grab it.” I groaned as her hair fell on my face.
“It’s just ugh, I can’t reach it.”
“Just get it,”
“Fine.” She moved again, straddling my hips, moving to easily reach the speaker. I watched as the pendant slip out from beneath her shirt and dangle over my face.
“You still have this,” My hands grip the pendant, fingers moving over the metal as the music restarted. It was the pendant I’d given her for her birthday in second year.
“Of course I do,” My hands move away from the pendant over her shoulders. My eyes run over her face. I sat up and leant back on my elbows watching her.
“How come I haven’t noticed how beautiful you are lately?” She unconsciously moved down towards me.
“Because you’ve been busy looking at someone else since third year.”
“What a bloody idiot,” I grabbed her and pulled her towards me. My lips meeting hers, I felt the hesitation, and tasted the red wine that stained them. “Don’t think about it,” I whispered before my tongue touched hers. My hands begin to slowly move her shirt off her shoulders as her fingers began to unbutton my shirt. “Nore,” I pulled away looking at her.
“Mutual use,” She whispered.
“George,” Someone called with a loud knock on the door. I shifted, feeling Eleanore’s head bury itself into my chest. “It’s me,” I unwrapped my hands from Eleanore’s body, pushing a kiss to her lips as I got up. Pulling on my pants and shirt I walked to the door, pulling it open.
“Katherine? what are you doing here?”
“I was hoping we could talk, in private.” She tried to peak around the door. I pulled it behind me.
“Let me grab my shoes. Won't be a tick.” I ducked back inside grabbing my shoes and pulling them on. I lent down and kissed Eleanore on the head before rushing back to Katherine. “What did you want to talk about?”
“Us,”
Michael and Eleanore stood out the front of the doors as the crowd gathered. Eleanore clapped her hands as the bride and groom passed by them, others throwing rose petals.
“Well,” Michael started loudly, “For a wedding we only attended to make George’s ex jealous, I am happy for them.”
“Super,” Eleanore muttered.
“Reception time,” Michael fluttered his fingers, his hand wrapping around her wrist.
“Y/N, wait.” I called from behind them, I watched as Eleanore tried to move away quicker pulling Michael with her.
“We don’t want to talk to him?” Michael looked back at me with an eyebrow raised.
“We don’t?”
“Eleanore. Will you talk to me. What's wrong?” She let go of Michael and pulled me to the side.
“I got my hopes up.” She whispered.
“About what?”
“About you actually loving me back.” She whispered, trying to pull away from me. “Forget it.” She sniffled. “It's pathetic really, how much I still hope it's you and me in the end because I know you love her, How much you want her.”
“Eleanore,”
“But I'm still the stupid girl whose been in love with you since third year.”
“But you said,” I took a step backwards, she loves me.
“I know what I fucking said. I lied G. It's you, it's always been you.” She screamed.
“Then why would you agree to this?” I screamed back. “Why would you agree to come to this wedding, to make Katherine jealous?”
“Because I'm an idiot. I thought that if we spent time together, and pretended to be together you would somehow see it's me. Not her,” She moaned hands covering her eyes. “I’m an idiot.”
“Nore, you’re my best-friend.”
“Friends don't look at each other the way we do George,” Her eyes moved behind me, filling with flames. Someone was walking towards us, and I could only guess it was Katherine.
“Nore…”
“George, come on the party is starting.” Katherine reached out and wraps her arm around my bicep.
“Good enough to fuck, but nothing more.” I heard her whisper. “And you…” Her eyes turned to Katherine. “Fuck you, You made me feel like I was never good enough, for Thomas, for George.” Her face fell. “Guess what. I was good enough. I am good enough.” Behind her Michael clapped loudly, Thomas even joined in.
“Eleanore, let me talk.”
“I almost wish we'd never met George.” She rushed away from me, her cheeks pooling with tears.
“C’mon George, the party…”
“Did you know about this?” I asked Michael. "Why didn't you say something? We're just friends.” I screamed. “Why would you suggest this,” My chest heaved with the effort.

Christmas Chapter
To those that have been reading my story, I apologized for being so late with my recent works. I managed to finish the other two on Christmas and this one before New Years. So, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Nick’s POV
I walked into the kitchen to be greeted by a giant basket filled with pears and a box filled with pear based foods, like pie, cobbler, juice, even jelly beans, which Molly was stuffing herself with.
“Where did the pears come from?”
“Faye bought them!” Molly, mouth stuffed of jelly beans
“She did?”
“Both her and her father.” mom, who came from the next room. “Molly, leave some for the rest of us.”
I stared at the packages, uncertain about its products.
“Why pears?”
“Why don’t you ask?” mom asked playfully before walking into the kitchen.
The next day, I went to the Black Cat Cafe, carrying a bag. When I walked in, it was semi-busy, with many of the tables full.
“Hello Nick.” Mrs. McCalmont, from behind the counter.
“Hi, Mrs. McCalmont. Is Wil home?”
“No, she’s helping me with a delivery. Is something wrong?”
“Uh, no, um, here.” I handed her a bag of apples. “Mom says thanks for the pears.”
“Oh your welcome. Thank you.”
As she took the apples, I struggled to ask my question, even though it may sound rude.
“Uh, what are the pears for?”
“For the 12 Days of Christmas!” Faye jumped from behind the counter, surprising me.
“12 days of Christmas? As in the song?” I questioned “So, in the place of Christmas?”
“Oh no we celebrate Christmas. Think of it as a Christmas tradition. It gets everyone in the Christmas spirit.”
“Does everyone on Arcanos do it?” Looking around, making sure no one heard me.
“You can talk about Arcanos. There’s no rule about it not talking about it. Watch. ARCANOS!”
Everyone in the cafe turned to look at us.
“Faye, stop that.” scolded Mrs. McCalmont. “If it makes you feel better, we can go into the kitchen?”
I nodded and followed them into the cafe kitchen, where I saw stuff moving by itself. The food was cooking and wrapping themselves. I saw tiny fairies flying around the kitchen as well as multiple ovens and stoves, six at least. I could smell bread baking, chocolate melting and meat roasting.
“Wow.” I looked at the whole room in amazement. One of the fairies came up to him and landed on his shoulder. She looked at him curiously.
“I hope the fairies aren’t a health code violation.” I joked
“Those aren’t fairies. They’re pixies.” explained Faye “Fairies are much bigger.”
“I see.” I looked back at the kitchen. “It’s like Merlin’s spell from the Sword in the Stone.”
“It's something similar.” Mrs. McCalmont answered, putting the apples in the center table. “It makes work a bit easier.”
“So how does the 12 days of Christmas work?”
“Well, like the song, it lasts for 12 days, from the 12th to the 24th. For each day of Christmas, we gift that theme of the day. Like, a partridge in a pear tree.” she explained
“So, like you give out pear based presents?”
“Exactly. When I married my husband, we carried the tradition to his family, then decided to use it for the cafe as well.”
“Wow. So, if yesterday was pears, then today would be-”
“Doves!” exclaimed Faye
“Doves? Like turtle doves?”
“Uh-huh. Last year, my aunt gave me actual turtle doves.” she bragged
“Really?”
“No, she didn’t. Don’t tease him like that, or you won’t get any presents from Santa.” Mrs. McCalmont scolded
I chuckled to myself. Felicity is the same age as Faye, but doesn’t believe in Santa anymore. “You still believe in Santa?”
“Of course I do. Why should I not?”
“Because your getting older.”
“These pixies are real.” she pointed out. “So why shouldn’t Santa?”
She had me there. I glared at the pixie on my shoulder giggling at me.
“So for the second day, what should I give?”
“Why? You want to give my sister a gift?” Faye grinned “On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…”
“What? No! I just saw Wil give something to Maddy today and yesterday. So, I was wondering, since its Christmas season.” For some reason, my cheeks were getting warm. Am I blushing? Why am I blushing?! Why does
“So what should I give her? And Maddy?”
“Well, the most common gifts would be turtle candies, dove chocolates, dove products or ornaments.” answered Mrs. McCalmont.
“That’s it?”
“Well, unless you have enough money to get her actual turtle doves…” she smirked “Oh, speaking of which…”
She went to the fridge and took out a paper bag. She gave it to me and I looked inside to see individually wrapped chocolate turtles inside.
“No one in your family is allergic to pecans right?” she gently asked
Christmas may be the time of generosity, but this is surprisingly generous.
Will’s POV
For the past couple of days, I’ve been getting presents. Not that it’s a bad thing. It’s Christmas season of course, but…
“Maybe you have your own Santa Claus?” questioned Maddy
We were walking through the downtown area of the town, in Arcanos. Like in Harry Potter, many of the lights and lighted ornaments were floating in mid-air.
I’ve been getting 12 days of christmas presents, but they aren’t from anyone I know. Why? Because I’ve been finding them, somehow in my locker. The same happened with Maddy, but the gifts were different.
On the 3rd day, she got 3 hen and chicks succulent plants, while I got French perfume. 4th day. She had a birdhouse, feeder, braille book and birdseed ornaments delivered to her house. I got cell phone accessories, including a diy phone case. 5th day. Five donuts were at Maddy’s desk. I got 5 rings, two hoops and a ring. 6th day. She got a recipe for eggnog, while I got chocolate creme eggs. By the 6th day, enough was enough.
“Like a Secret Santa? No way. Who would want to be secret Santas with me?” I questioned her
“Speaking of which, does Santa really exist in Arcanos?” she asked
“In a manner of speaking, yes. He’s more of a spirit now, than an actual person.”
“Wow, that’s amazing.”
“And you know those snow globes from the movie Rise of the Guardians? There’s actual snow globes like them?”
“Really? That’s so cool!” Maddy thought for a minute. “So you really don’t know who’s been giving you those gifts?”
“I have an idea.”
“Nick?”
And this is why she is my best friend.
“Yep.”
“Why?”
“Remember that bet we made on my birthday? He’s trying to romance me, like he does for Heather. I saw him giving her an “early” Christmas present. A plush reindeer.”
“So you aren’t upset that he’s courting you, even though he's dating Heather?”
“Not really. It’s not so bad.” I winked at her. “Plus, we're getting free stuff out of it right?”
“Hm. Good point. But are you going to get him something?”
“Oh, don’t worry. I got some ideas.” I grinned evilly
“Ooh, can I help? He gave me stuff too.” Maddy volunteered. I grinned.
“Hmmm, fair enough, alright. Come on, let’s come up with some ideas.”
On the 7th day, which was for swans, I left something in Nick’s locker, before quickly heading in the direction of mine. I turned the corner and waited until Nick came. Maddy stood next to me. After a few minutes, Nick came in with his group of friends.
“Is he here yet?”
“Yeah. Shh!”
We, well I, watched as Nick opened his locker, and a giant, white inflatable pool swan blew up in his locker. I used big magic to make it bigger. It bursted the door opened, surprising them and everyone else in the hallway. It kept growing and nearly filled the whole hallway. And here’s the best part. It fell right on top of Nick. I could barely contain myself.
“What happened?”
“It fell on top of him.”
Maddy started to chuckle too.
“Come on, let’s go.”
We hurried away to our lockers, then classes before anyone noticed.
Nick’s POV
I. Am going. To kill. Her. I don’t care what type of magic she used, I know she put that stupid swan in my locker. I even got in trouble with it. Twice! It made me late for class, since it took 15 minutes to deflate it.
What the hell?
I was trying to be nice and give her presents, and Maddy too, not because of that stupid bet, because its Christmas! Aren’t you supposed to give presents to each other on Christmas?
Fine. If she wants to be naughty, I’ll show her naughty. Ugh. That did not sound right.
Later that day, I watched Wil as she got closer to her locker.
“Uh, Nick?” I turned around to see Dylan. “What are you doing?”
“Shhh!”
I motioned him over, and we watched as Wil opened her locker and then- boof!
A small explosion of black power and black feathers covered Wil and some parts of Maddy!
“Wh-what the?”
“What happened?” asked Maddy
Me and Dylan quickly went behind the wall before we were spotted. We could barely contain our laughter.
“Holy Shit!” laughed Dylan
“How’s that for a black swan?”
“Are you out of your mind? You just pranked the Wicked Witch of Willow High.”
“I know. Just a little payback.” I turned to look at him. “Want to help me out with the next one?”
“Oh heck yes.”
The next few days continued as followed: on the 8th day, Wil got pelted with milk balloons, while Nick smelled like camebre cheese, after finding them in his pockets every five minutes. The 9th day, Nick’s locker was filled with ballet items, while Wil was scared by red dancing shoes. The 10th day, both found frogs and toads in their personal items. Wil in her book bag, Nick in his pants while in the bathroom. On the 11th day, Wil was scared by a sudden piercing from a recorder while in the bathroom, and the same goes for Nick while answering his phone. On the 12th day, Wil was woken by the sound of drums from metal rock, while Nick was kept up all night because of it.
Wil’s POV
“That’s it! No more pranks!” scolded Mom. I was keeping the pranks on Nick a secret from her, but she managed to find out. “It’s Christmas Eve! Now make up and give him a present as an apology and a sign of actual good will.”
“But mom,...” I didn’t want to, but… I really don’t want to.
“Do it or no Christmas.” threatened my dad
I groaned. Missing Christmas is one of the worst things that can happen to anyone. I know there are thousands of people who have no choice but to miss Christmas, but its not fair for me either.
“At least call a truce for Christmas.”
I sighed. “All right. No more pranks.”
“And give him a present he’ll like, nothing cheap!”
The night before Christmas, and all through the night. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. And it was freaking cold! I got Nick’s stupid present, but I couldn’t give it to him at school. I wanted to drop it off at his house and that’ll be it, but my parents would not accept it. Dad even threatened to call them on Christmas, just to make sure I gave him the present. So, I’m here on my broom, at his house, at night, in the freezing cold! I clutched the present closer to my chest, debating whether this a good or bad idea. Groaning, I lowered myself towards his room window.
Also, if you all are wondering how I knew where Nick’s home or even his room is, thank Dalia, due to her mischief.
I knocked on the window with the curtains closed.
“Nick!” I quietly yelled, to prevent anyone seeing me.
I didn’t hear any movement, but the lights were on.
“Nick!”
Nothing. I reached into my pocket, and took out a hag stone. A hag stone is a stone that has a natural hole inside them. Depending on how or where the stones were formed, by looking through the holes, you could see various things. The one I have is similar to the one in Coraline. So think of the had stone as x-ray vision goggles.
I looked through it and could see past the house walls. I saw Nick in his bed, sleeping.
I knocked on the window again.
“Nick!”
Seeing that he wasn’t waking up, I tapped the window lock twice.
“Tick tock. Break the lock.”
The window unlocked and opened itself, and I climbed in.
His room is surprisingly clean, for a high school boy. I saw him in his bed and walked over to wake him. His snoring is as loud as a high school boy. I shook him as hard as I could.
“Nick! Nick! Niiiccckkkk!”
After some groans, Nick managed to slowly open his eyes. His eyes widened quickly when he saw that I was in his room.
“Holy freaking crap!” he yelled as he scrambled away from me. I just smiled.
“Merry Christmas!” I smirked
“What are you doing in my house?! How’d you get into my house?!”
“Magic. Duh.”
“How’d you even know where I live?”
“Dalia. Duh. Anymore questions?”
He was silent for a moment, before asking, “What are you doing here?”
“Come outside.”
“It is freezing outside. And it’s Christmas Eve. If this is another prank, can it wait until morning?”
“It’s not a prank. My mom wants us to call a truce for Christmas, so truce?” I ask while holding out my hand.
Nick looked at my hand, suspicious and hesitating for a bit, before taking my hand.
“Fine, truce.”
“Good. Now come outside. I have a present for you.”
A few minutes later, we were both outside in the cold. After explaining that I got him a gift, it turns out he got me one too. Then we both stood there awkwardly for the next few minutes.
“So, want to open them now?” Nick asked
“Ehhh, it kind of goes against my tradition of opening presents before Christmas. You?”
“Not my tradition.”
He quickly went to open his present.
“Woah, a toy motorcycle. Cool.”
“Press the button.”
He looked confused.
I took the toy, pushed the button, then put it on the street and stepped back. Moments later, it quickly grew in size to a rideable size. The look on Nick’s face shows that I gave him the right gift.
“I heard from Felicity that you got your motorcycle license, so I got you this.”
Remember the boat from Ponyo? There’s a toy company in Arcanos that makes toys inspired by the film. Cost a lot, but not as much as a regular motorcycle.
“What do you think?”
The next thing I knew, he was hugging me. An actual, no hesitation hug.
“Thanks.” he whispered
Turns out, he was saving money for a motorcycle, but wasn’t close yet. With this, he doesn’t have to save anymore. But for some reason, he now didn’t want to give me my present. He tried to take it back, but after some tugging, I won. I decided to leave before he tries to take it again, but before I did, I showed him how to make it small again. Before I flew away, I watched Nick go back inside and shut the window I opened.
The next day, on Christmas, I opened Nick’s present first. It was a ugly Christmas sweater, with a witch in a Santa dress and hat, on a broom, with a bag of presents behind her, flying through the night sky. A ugly Christmas sweater that's witch themed. After opening the rest of my presents, it was the only thing I didn’t have anything to say about. But, I wore it on the first day back at school.

Hi
MOVIE: PHANTOM HALO COUPLE: SAMMY (TBS) X READER RATING: SWEET
I stood looking at this dump. This old battered bungalow that would be our home for a while, my father already inside neck need in a bottle of whiskey. My brother organizing the little things we had with us, "Come on Sam don't you wanna come pick you're room?" He asked me I didn't want to answer, I didn't care to pick my room, I didn't want to be here, I wanted to anywhere but here. "You the new neighbors?" A voice asked I turned to the source of the voice and saw a beautiful girl. She was my age in a little blue dress with white lace in places, her hair fairly short with a blue bow in her hair and her face adorable. She had a pair of blue leggings hugging her close, a black cardigan over her with a little blue backpack with some multicoloured owls all over it and some tattered black converses, she stood on the path between our house and the next looking rather curious. "Yeah, who are you?" Becket asked "My name's y/n, I live next door" she smiled "hi" she waved to me "Hi" I blushed waving to her too trying to fix my hair a little "Hi, I'm Becket that's Samuel" he laughs hitting my back a little "Pleasure to meet you" she smiled widely looking at me a little I couldn't help the blush flooding my cheeks undoubtedly turning them bright red she giggled a little as she looked at me "Y/N!" A voice yelled from the house nextdoor "I best go, I'll see you around" she smiled waving and heading inside her own house "Shut your mouth Sam you'll catch flies" Becket laughed "ladies don't like when you stare" "I wasn't staring" I argue even if it came out more like a whine "Sam, your bright red, your mouth was hung open like a fish and you could just get thought hi without stuttering" he laughs "somebody's got a crush on the new neighbor girl" he laughs taking stuff inside "I don't have a crush! I've seen her once I literally can't have a crush on her yet" I argue taking most of my stuff inside looking at all three bedrooms each with a bed, a chest of draws and a lamp, my dad was passed out in the biggest at the front of the house so I went to look in one of the bedrooms trying to decide if I wanted it, looking at the fairly new black bedframe with a cosy mattress, and a window that looked to the next house as I was stood looking around I saw the light in the window nextdoor flick on and that girl went in the room it was clearly her bedroom as she stood brushing her hair and fixing her bow "I take it you want this room?" Becket smirked "Ahh! God dam it you made me jump... Uhhh yeah guess I'll have this room" I shrug looking at the stuff in it trying to avoid the window "nice uhh layout for my stuff" I lied "Yeah? Layout sammy... Nothing to do with the view?" He smirked looking at the window "Shut up and get out my room" I told him pushing him out and starting to sort my stuff "Fine just don't let caught being a perv" he laughs.
I stood in the garden tinkering with my dad's old car trying to get the thing to run, but nothing as of yet "Hi? Sammy right?" A voice asks making me jump a little I came out from having my head boarder line burried in the bonnet to see the girl from nextdoor y/n stood by the gate with her bag Be her normal shoes in her little bow same as ever in some black leggings with blue denim shorts and a little battered t shirt with cats on it and some books in her hand, I had seen her around since we moved in but I hadn't really ever got the courage to speak to her "Uhh hi, yeah that's me" I blushed rubbing my neck nervously "I wanted to ask, when will I be seeing you in school?" She asks coming into the garden "Oohh... I uhh I don't really go to school, I'm kinda... Home schooled I guess" I blushed nervous having her so close to me as she stood looking at me and the car "Oh I see" she says "same I was rather hoping I'd have someone to walk with" she says sounding a little disheartened "I'm sorry, if you like I don't mind walking with you some nights when it's dark and all" I offered "Thank you" she giggled "but it's quite alright, don't worry about me" she smiled "Here" she smiled getting a bit of paper from her books and writing something with a little pen handing it to me it "incase I need you to walk me home" she smiled before she gave me a little wave and went home.
I laid in bed listening to my dad shout and complain about everything and nothing. I didn't want to listen. I wanted a distraction more then anything else in the world, I grabbed the little folded peice of paper from my table looking at it 'y/n' in her sweet little hand writing with her number along the bottom, I wish I could call her or send her a message but I didn't have a phone I didn't want to tell her, but at the same time I felt bad she gave me her number and maybe she was waiting for a message from me but I couldn't ever send one, I studied every cruve of the name and phone number for hours noticing the ink marks in letters or numbers where she had let the pen lingure, I noticed the paper was clearly a work sheet of some kind so I turned it over it looked like some kinda homework assignment
"For I dream a thousand dreams every moment of everyday, wishing, wanting always to be elsewhere, Dreaming that some day this may be a distant memory, That the days I spend dreaming where just plans for a future, A future that sometimes is all that makes me wish to remin on earth.'
It was beautiful it was obvious from the handwriting and the fact her name was on the top that she had written this. My heart was a flutter at her beautiful words, and in a way I felt the same as her. The paper had a sweet scent the smell lingured on the paper and in the ink of popcorn, strawberries, the sweet smell of fresh sheets, with a little of hairspray and daisies. I felt in love with that scent, and I think I was kinda... Falling in love with her.
I sat on the steps of the portch, the light by the door flickering, attracting s few bugs to hover around it in the light. The cold air whistling past as the air began to chill as night grew closer. The sound of my dad shouting and breaking things, my brother went out even though my dad ordered him not to. So I sat on the steps in the cold with my comic books "Hi" a voice smiled I looked up and saw y/n in a little yellow sundress and her little denim jacket and her backpack "Ohh hi y/n" I smiled "You didn't message me" she said sadly "I know I uhh... I've been meaning to tell you I uhh I don't have a phone" I told her "Ohh, that's alright" she smiled sitting next to me "what are you reading?" She asks "Oh the new phantom halo" I told her "he has to save these planets from this invading war obsessed creatures on this big-" I began "sorry..." "No it's sweet" she smiled "who's that?" She asked pointing at my comic book "Ohh that's felicity may, phantom halos kinda love interest" "Like Lois lane?" She asks "Umm more like cat woman, they fight and they're kinda into each other it's complicated" I laughed "It sounds cool, you'll have to let me borrow a couple some day" she smiled "Yeah sure" I blushed "Becket!!!" Screamed from inside
"What was that?" she asks
"that's my dad" I sighed "He's drunk"
"Ohh sam" she says sadly reassuringly putting her hand on my shoulder pulling me so I rested my head on her shoulder, I wasn't going to stop her she was so cosy and soft I could her scent so strong especially her sweet perfume "It's okay," she says hugging me tightly wrapping both her arms around me I smile widely not wanting to waste an opportunity wrapping my arms around her too cuddling her tightly, she warmed me up so much inside an out. "My dad does that too," she says
"he does?" I asked "Ohh y/n... if you want when your dad does that you can go sit in the car, I put a lot of my comics back there so you can sit and read and stuff while he's drunk... I do" I offer
"Thats sweet of you" she smiled
"Y/N!" he yelled from her house
"I'll see you sammy" she smiled giving me a little wave as she ran off home
"See you y/n" I blushed, as soon as my dad had passed out I went inside laying on my bed cuddling my pillow imaging it was her.
I stop tinkering with my car for a while trying to get it to run when-
"Hi" a voice smiled making me jump hitting my head on the bonnet
"Owww" I yelled moving out and seeing y/n
"Ohh sam I'm so sorry," she says
"No, No it's okay," I told her "Are you okay?" I asked
"I'm okay, I wanted to come to visit" she smiled "I have something for you"
"for me?" I asked excitedly
"I found it in the basement, it still works." she smiled getting something out her bag "at least until you get the radio working in your car," she says handing me a little pocket radio she turned it on it playing some sweet tunes
"Aww y/n you don't have to give me this," I told her
"I want to," she smiled "so we can listen to music when we read comics"
"Thank you so much y/n" I smiled taking the radio and giving her cheek a kiss
"Your welcome" she smiled giving me a little wave as she went home blowing me a little kiss as she went.
I sat in the back of my car with my torch with my comic books, my dad was drunk again and Becket out with his girlfriend so I was hiding back her. I jumped a little as the radio on my dashboard began playing a sweet tune I was confused but I saw y/n stood in a little dress
"Hi" she smiled
"Hi" I smiled
"Can I stay here? my dads drunk" she says
"yeah... my dad too, come on you can stay here with me" I smiled and she got in the back seat with me
"What are you reading?" she asks
"Another phantom halo" I tell her
"Ohh can I read?" she asks
"sure" I smiled letting her see my comic, we sat reading for a while till she tugged on my "You okay?" I asked her and she smiled giving my lips a kiss I was in shock as she pulled away "whoa..."
"sorry" she blushed
"What are you sorry for?" I asked
"I shouldn't have-" she began but I kissed her back
"I've been wanting to kiss you ever since I met you," I told her
"Aww... best make up for lost time then" she smiled pulling me closer an kissing me again.

Ask meme for Violet
Which parent do they look the most like?
Violet doesn’t know what either of her parents looked like, but from what she knows about biology (which admittedly isn’t a lot, she knows more about robotics) she assumes that she must’ve been a mix of both parents.
Is there a name they were almost given (either by their parents or during character creation)?
Her name has always been Violet and was the first option for her. She doesn’t know if another name would have been better for her, but she likes it well enough. To her, it’s symbolic of where she’s come from.
What were they like as a kid (if they’re currently a child, what would they be like as a teen)?
She doesn’t remember much of anything of when she was a child, but just based on how she is now, she would be very surprised if her younger self was more exuberant or charming than she is currently.
What’s their drinking tolerance and what kind of drunk are they?
As an aasimar, it’s very hard for her to get drunk off regular alcohol (remedials are another story) so she has a very high tolerance, but when she does manage to get drunk, she feels so much and doesn’t want to handle any of it, so she will find a corner to be alone (and if people want to find her and keep her company that’s their prerogative)
Where do they like to be touched?
Violet only loves touches from Perri, and the barest of brushes from Rev, but she secretly likes having her hair played with. It’s so soft and smooth and when it’s played with, she short circuits and becomes a sitting lump. Only Perri knows this fact.
What’s their favorite position (top/bottom/switch/pillow princess/etc.)
As a prostitute she’s played everything from the bottom blushing virgin to the dominant seductress (all under the influence of jubi and tempo of course because if she had to seduce by herself the best she could come up with is ‘dan nicky your bobbies’) but in terms of being in an actual relationship with someone, she’s a top who ranges from a nervous service top to a soft but firm dom. Whichever way so goes, she speaks so gentle and lovingly.
What are their kinks?
Violet’s fairly vanilla. She’s always so chilly that she has a fondness for temperature play (whether fire or wax) and deep down she just wants to be praised. What did you expect from a 19 int, 17 wis artificer? She’s prideful as hell.
How do they feel about adrenaline (roller coasters, extreme sports, etc.)?
In Felicity, there’s not much opportunity for roller coasters or extreme sports, so really the most adrenaline things she gets is when she’s working on machines and there’s the anticipation that comes with putting a potentially explosive device on Perri and seeing what happens. She likes that.
What is their fight or flight response?
Probably more on the freeze end. She doesn’t want to get in trouble and doesn’t know how to react to something unless it’s something she knows she can win against (which is more an intellectual battle). Then she’s more a fighter.
What’s their pain tolerance?
Despite being stronk, Violet does not like getting hurt and bruises pretty easily. It takes her longer to bounce back from pain. She has a constitution slightly higher than a Victorian orphan, but she will make a thousand year stare if she gets hurt.
What character archetype are they the most like (the Innocent, the Hero, etc.)
The Creator, which fits Artificer well. She doesn’t care about fixing the world she’s in, but she knows she has the brains to make it just a little bit more livable. She’s prideful in her brain, and she wants to create machines that can do things that make human labor hard. Also she really just wants an army of robotic alligators, ravens, and black cats.
What TV-Tropes trope would they be?
Eerie Pale Skinned Brunette. She looks like she’d be a vampire (and if there was an official vampire race/class in dnd I would’ve made her a vampire) but she’s just tall, skin white as snow, hair black as night, and a vibe creepy as fuck. But if you get to know her, she’s just extremely awkward with a penchant for machines.
What John Mulaney quote/bit do they most embody?
“Was there ever really a ghost, Mother? Or was the dead Victorian girl you saw just me all along?”
With the exception of love interests and immediate family, who are they closest to?
She’s not sure what Perri is to her. She’s never had a family but he’s been the most important person she’s ever known. She would do almost anything for him and there is no place she goes that she doesn’t want him with her.
What is their moral alignment? What would have to happen for it to shift?
True Neutral. She only cares about her and Perri’s survival and although she has a moral line she doesn’t want to cross (such as murder), she is willing to make a lot of personal sacrifices to make sure she and Perri can eat (such as cons, prostitution, and being bought as a bride).
Are they a morning person? What are they like before 8am?
Violet loves being awake as long as possible, so she tries to be up very early so she can take walks around Felicity. She feels more peaceful in the early morning, so she actually smiles a lot more, but its all real soft smiles. She also loves walking around markets to see people starting to sell food because its fresh.
What are they like when they’re tired?
A tired Violet is a frustrated Violet. She doesn’t often speak against people, but when she’s tired she’s always five seconds away from snapping and telling people they’re all dumbasses and they need to let her sleep.
What are they like in arguments?
Violet doesn’t usually get into arguments, either because she scares people too much for people to stay long enough to argue with her or because Perri calms it down. The only way she gets into arguments is if someone is being absurdly stupid and wrong and she’s just “I’m not even going to dignify that with a correction... actually if I do not it will drive me insane, you are a fool.”
What is their dominant hand?
Right
Out of 10, how happy are they? How happy do they think they are?
She’s happier than she was at the brothel, that’s for sure. She lives somewhere that’s not flooded, not selling her body for food, she has her first workshop and she lives with Perri and a man who although is an emotional mess, is not insufferable (and maybe even her friend?) Of course, she knows that Rev could get tired of her at any time and kick her out, so she’s trying not to be too hopeful. So overall 6.9/10.

Fanfic I can’t think of a name for pt 15 (Final chapter)
Magda wandered through the forest, looking for any hint of civilization. Maybe a heart carved in a tree? A doll, maybe? Even a single footprint would be like gold to a little lost Magda. Magda had only realized the state she was currently in, her hair was...well ...everywhere. Her dress had turned from a light pink into more of an ashen red. Magda couldn’t exactly see her face, nor did she really want to see how exactly her makeup fared over 3 days of prison.
She had ditched her heels what seemed like miles ago. The pain of rocks and thorns felt a million times better than staying in those heels for too much longer. As much as she had grown accustomed to them, they still hurt after a while.
As she continued to wander the woods, she came across a patch of flowers. A patch of sunlight. Magda ran towards it, hoping desperately that it wasn’t just an illusion. Thank the goddess it wasn’t. The sun felt…… so refreshing. Magda felt almost like a cat as she laid down in the flowers and bathed in the sun. Her eyes almost shut, before her stomach growled loudly at her.
She shot up from her bed of flowers.
‘Oh, my gosh!’ Magda put one hand on her stomach, ‘Please forgive me! I’ll see if I can find anything for you…’ Magda laughed silently as to not waste any of the water that still remained in her system. She heard humans can only live a few days without water, she couldn’t be too far off from that limit…
While she wasn’t exactly a survivalist, or a hunter, but she knew how to forage at least somewhat well. Years of the slums will teach you things you would have never known you’d need. Like how you can get a lot of water from berries, and how the black and pink striped berries are delicious despite their less than stellar appearance. Don’t eat anything unless you know exactly what it is, and where it came from.
Magda had managed to use so many unspoken rules that she had in her head to survive. She never had to apply all these rules for an unborn child… what if those berries Magda had constantly devoured in her childhood were gonna hurt it?
The blonde woman looked down at the berries she held in her hand. They smelled just as she remembered, a mix of lemons and sugar… her stomach snarled at her again. This time around it was louder and more painful than the last. Her mouth also felt like a desert just to make the situation that much worse.
She sat down near the berry bush, and counted her only 2 options: Die with her child, or risk her child dying. Magda held her breath as she pushed the berries down. The juices soothed her dry throat, and her stomach stopped its tantrum. Only for Magda’s heart to start a tantrum of its own.

Alan finally began to place his thoughts into a structure that he was able to work with. Yes, Magda may be ... , but the least he could do was find her and give her the burial she deserved. She didn’t deserve to rot in some prison cell or even worse be a slave to some pervert.
He grabbed his sword back up. He took a deep breath and began to walk deeper into the now darkening forest. His sword held tightly in his hand as he began to whistle. He had learned that sometimes when people are lost if they hear a whistle sometimes they’ll give out a sign, like another whistle, or a scream more likely.
He’d gone on adventures similar to this many times in the past, he had found lost children, mothers who ran away with their children, and prison escapees. He was often bribed to keep their hiding spots a secret, which...he denied. He kept his mouth shut quite a few times on the non-criminals.
A few small knocks alerted him. It sounded too rhythmic to be an animal. It was a very specific pattern:
Knock,Knock, Knock-knock.
The pattern repeated itself multiple times before Alan finally decided that even if it was an animal it was worth a try. The knocking never stopped, but it always got a bit louder towards the end, most likely in desperation.
Finally he heard a small sob, and the knocking was clearly within a few feet of him. A patch of sunshine in the darkness of the woods was a shock. What was even more shocking was seeing Magda...now sobbing into her knees while clutching at her belly.

Lynna’s eyes had become glazed over as the days? Weeks? Months? Maybe even a Year had passed since she had seen the light of day. All days seemed to have blended into one another. Every day was the same schedule. Wake up, walk in circles until she possibly got her only meal of the day, then go back to bed.
Her hair was greasy and unclean , but without much more to do in her little cell she near constantly groomed herself to keep from going insane. She had already discarded the dress she had worn on her last ball. She now only wore her undergarments, which was basically a night dress, it was just so much more comfortable. She had long abandoned trying to wear her shoes, her skin was already disgusting from not being able to bathe, so the last thing she needed was to have blisters all over her feet.
The guard, who Lynna had called Mr.Guard, barely spoke to her. He had cracked a few times, and spoke to her. About his wife, his children, his mother who was sick, and all of the drama going on in his family. His wife hated his mother, and the same could be said for most of his family. His wife didn’t sound like the nicest lady, and Lynna did speak a few times desperately clinging on to any human interaction she could get.
He usually only visited once a day to deliver food and water. The food...was awful compared to what Lynna’s taste had gotten used to. Crude sandwiches made of jam, and something nutty in the middle. Occasionally he would get her whatever a ‘donut’ was ,it was like bread, but sweet with glaze on top of it. As for water, he gave her enough to survive. Not much more than that.
She had become accustomed to thinking he was a friend, or he at least barely cared about her. She wanted to know she was at least somewhat missed. Maybe somebody noticed her absence and didn’t think of it as good.
Maybe…. Just maybe….
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The city was engulfed in madness. Bodies littered the streets, and the smell of burning flesh filled the air. Felicity held her nose in her shirt to prevent herself from most of the smell that filled the air. The smoke was as thick as molasses , and she struggled to breathe through it with Ivan on her back.
‘Oh my goddess...Finsel? What happened?’
Felicity began through the streets yet again after a small break to finally catch her breath. Ivan was knocked out cold, she had to stop to check his breathing every so often to make sure he wasn’t just a corpse.
‘I have to check on the kids…’
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“Magda! Magda!” Alan cried as he nearly toppled Magda over with a hug, his sword fell to the side with a decent clank.
“A-alan?” Magda sniffled, “Alan...I wanna go home…”
‘Should I tell him now? It...seems too sudden…’
“Oh course! We’re gonna go home! Right now!” Alan helped Magda up, “I am so glad you’re okay Magda, I-I never thought I’d see you again!”
“Alan...I-”
“Come on! When we get home we can finally start the life I promised!”
“Alan!”
He wasn’t listening. He couldn’t be. Magda looked down at her stomach...it was so early...what if something had happened what if something was going to happen? She didn’t want to break his heart..
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Ivan’s apartment was a disaster. Pillows were torn, windows were broken, a large clump of pink fur was laid on the ground and a small puddle of blood was splattered near it. The bedsheets were ripped off of the bunk-bed and torn around the room in large pieces. All of this would’ve made Ivan furious. He’d ground the kids for weeks! No, months!
If only the children had been there.
Ivan was on his knees looking down at the floor, his eyes seemingly glazed over. Felicity...just looked down on him, this time not of anger, but of fear.
“Ivan… I’m-”
“If you hadn’t dragged me out there they would still be here!” Ivan cried out to Felicity, not even bothering to look up at her.
“I left them with the most capable person I-”
“Clearly not good enough! Get out.”
“Ivan you know as well as I do-”
“Haven’t you done enough, Felicity!? You never learned how to leave something be. You wonder why your mother prefers Magda over you. I think everybody knows why…”
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“When we get home we can...well I’m not exactly sure now, but we can adopt that one cat you always feed! You can name him! T-the black cat with the white belly!”
Finsel was in near ruins. The last attack by the revolutionaries was brutal, and most of the slums had been affected. Magda didn’t dare leave her own home in fear of what would happen. She hadn’t heard a word from Felicity since she had found out about Ivan’s children, and Giulolo’s disappearance. Now not only the nobles, but the people never got a chance to rest. Magda looked down at her stomach, unsure of how to tell Alan the news. She was barely showing, if at all. She wrapped the robe around herself and looked in the mirror, she thought about what this would do to her body.
She shook the thought away, whatever happened, it would be worth it. Magda walked back over to the bed and laid down. Just as her eyes began to close she heard Alan walk into the room, his face white as snow.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“We cannot leave Finsel, Felicity.”
“Mother, we don’t have a choice. People won’t even leave their houses anymore!”
“And we will be the exception. If we stay we could-”
“Die.”
“But remember the nobles who stayed and fought back are the ones who end up the strongest.”
“Or they die horrific deaths.”
“It’s worth the risk, Felicity.”
“Mother. You think it’s worth the risk.” Felicity stood up from her seat, and began to the door, “Magda is your star. You control her instead.”
Eliza stood up to stop her daughter, but soon realized she wouldn’t be able to. None of her punishments ever phased the girl in the least. No matter how ridiculous they were Felicity barely flinched. Eliza sat back down, and silently prayed to the goddess for her daughter’s safe return….
As soon as Felicity opened the doors a cloud of smoke ripped through her lungs. Her throat itched and she pulled her dress to cover up her nose and mouth. Her eyes opened widely. It finally happened.
Finsel was covered in flames. The distant screams paralyzed Felicity as she only had one person in mind, Magda.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Alan stood over the corpse of his lover. He couldn’t stop them. She was far too weak to defend herself from over 3 people, and he wasn’t there to help her. Now he never would be able to.
No tears, nothing. His brain was in too much shock to function. This was all his fault. As soon as he heard footsteps from behind him he withdrew his sword and pointed at the neck of his assailant. A brunette girl looked down at him.
“Blondie! Calm it down!” Felicity looked down at Alan who was now crouching over the body. Protecting it in a way.
“Felicity….” Alan’s eyes watered up and his brain finally understood what was happening, “Felicity!”
Alan buried his face into Felicity’s dress, not caring if he ruined it. Shivers ran through his body despite the roaring heat. His eyes refused to open.
Felicity finally looked down at what he was guarding. Something inside of her broke….
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“Alan, you have to come with me! Please I can’t go alone!” Magda cried as Alan helped her into a carriage that looked very un-noblelike.
“Magda, I have to stay here. I have to protect my people.” Alan said as he gave her the jewelry she had hidden away in the house, “Everybody thinks you’re dead now. These should get you by until the revolution is calmed. You’ll be safe I promise.”
“Alan, you don’t understand I-”
“Magda, I have to get you out of here,” Alan quickly kissed Magda and held her in an embrace.
Magda looked down at the ground and smiled weakly.
" Go….Finsel needs you… now more than ever…"
Alan nodded his head and ran back into Finsel.
Magda looked down at her stomach and the horse began to take her away to a place where she would be safe. Where she was going she did not know. Fate would see to it that she would live a long life.
She watched Finsel as it faded away from her sight. She rested her head on the window of the carriage as she fell into sleep.
A/N: Hey guys! Thank you so much for reading till the end! Sorry to leave you on such a cliffhanger ending, but I have a (kind of) sequel that I’m already working on, and the main character is Lynna. I’m actually super proud that I managed to finish a story without abandoning it halfway through. I’m going to answer some questions that nobody has , but I want to answer them anyway:
The story takes place over around 3-5 years making Magda around 18-21 at the end of the story (I just assume that canonly Magda is 15 or 16 based on her looks.)
Felicity is a year or so older than Magda
Lynna does escape alive, and I like to imagine she’s younger than Magda by a year.
Yes, a whole revolution would’ve happened if Magda wasn’t chosen by Eliza don’t question it just go with it. I do actually have an explanation for it, but Imma keep that to myself for a while.
Technically this fanfiction took over 2 years to finish. I started planning it out in VERY late 2018, then 2019 rolled in and I posted the first chapter to my Amino. I took a long break (2 months I think). Then I was more active. Then I took an even longer break (Almost 8 months i think) then I started getting back into it. Then 2019 ended and 2020 began.
Fun facts!
` Magda was originally going to get with Barris then it got changed to Ivan then it got changed to Alan, then Gocheau, then I changed it back to Alan because let’s be real Ivan doesn’t have much going for him, Barris is nice but I didn't vibe with it , and Gocheau would’ve been hard to write with Magda as a couple.
As compensation to the characters that never got to be Magda’s Lover I made (most, sorry Gocheau) Either main characters (Ivan), or they made guest appearances (Barris)
Originally Eliza was going to be a much bigger part of the story, and there was going to be a lot less revolution and more court drama (I think I’m gonna save that for another fanfic)
At first I wanted Magda to be adopted into the Jorcastle family, but that was quickly scrapped.
For a time the main love interest for Magda was going to be Lynna (Which I do still ship), or Felicity.
I actually wrote a plan for them (Felicity and Magda) to get together but the whole adoptive sisters thing bothered me way too much , so I just dropped slight hints at Felicity having a kinda crush on Magda but more so just being jealous of others relationship with her.
I ship Magda with almost every character that even shows slight interest in Magda in the game.
Felicity was originally going to help Magda with her escape plan, but something goes wrong and Yadda-Yadda she thinks she killed Magda which still would leave Magda and Felicity separated
VERY early on (I mean like first week) this was going to be a songfic (Defying Gravity if you’re curious), and Wicked was a giant inspiration for the ending.
Felicity was originally going to be named Lucille
Alminas was going to be Felicity’s main love interest, but I decided it was probably for the better that Felicity doesn’t have a love interest for plot purposes.
I wanted to have the current events in Helix Waltz to make an appearance, but then I realized that would make the story have a real life timeline and that would not have worked.
One thing I do regret is rushing parts of this story, and eventually I will rewrite it and it will be a lot better paced and with much more meat to the story. I actually don’t really like the way I wrote any of the story but I decided that since it was already floating around the internet anyway I might as well finish it.
Since this Fanfic took over 2 years to finish you can see how much I improved which is why I decided to post this story before eventually rewriting it.
And finally, I still cannot think of a good name for this fanfic, even after 2 years.
I’m really happy that a few people actually liked this story. Honestly I just do this for fun and to hone my skills but writing this honestly made me much more confident in my writing abilities. I know only a few people have read this story to the end and it just makes me happy that I could entertain someone. I do plan on writing another fanfiction and I actually have one that I’m currently working on! I plan on getting one or two chapters out a week since it’s summertime now and I don’t have school to worry about.
Anyway if you read all or even just one chapter of this thank you for the support! Have a good day or night!!
With love,
Bri

Alright 💗 Bre’s boys reactions to reading their kid bedtime stories and mom slips in like cuz like ...👀 I wanna hear the story too
Billy Russo: “...and even though Barry the Bear was different, and not everyone understood him, Peter the Panther would always be his friend.” You stood in the doorway and watched as Billy read your three year old son his bedtime story. “The end,” Billy closed the book. “Daddy,” your son said, snuggling into his chest. “Mm?” “You’re Peter the Panther, and Uncle Frankie is Barry the Bear!” You watched Billy pause, considering it, before his face broke out in a wide smile. “Yeah... Yeah, you’re right...”
Logan Delos: “...I’ll like you forever, I’ll love you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” Logan looked down at your daughters, who were both staring up at him as they sat in his lap. “Will you love us for always?” Your oldest daughter asked, hugging her teddy bear to her chest. “Of course I will,” he answered, making your heart swell. “And will we always be your babies?” Your other daughter asked. “As long as I’m living,” he answered, “and even after that.”
Jax Teller: You heard a thump, and when you went in to check, Jax was on his back on the floor and your son was sitting on his chest. “...And once the dragon was dead,” Jax said grandly, fully making up the story as he went on, “the Prince was able to take over...” “And lived happily ever after?” Your son asked, grinning. “Yup, and he married the sexiest Princess ever...” “Jax!” You cried out, he turned, and he and your son gave you the exact same Teller smirk.
Coco Cruz: “...the end,” Coco said, his voice low. You leaned against the door, smiling. Your son was cuddled against Coco’s chest, and your daughter was curled into his side. “Daddy?” She asked, looking up at him. “Yeah, baby?” “Can you read it again?” Coco looked down at your son, who was sucking his thumb. The baby nodded, and Coco laughed. “Okay... Once upon a time...”
Angel Reyes: “...and that’s why you have to always listen to Mami, or La Llorana will come and get you...” You stopped when you heard your husband’s voice, and you peeked around the corner. Your daughter was wide eyed, and your son was clutching his pillow to his chest. “That... That story is made up, right, Papi?” He asked. “Oh, it’s really real!” Angel said back. “Angel!” You said, watching as both of your kids cowered into their father. You rolled your eyes as he laughed--you knew the kids would be sleeping in your bed tonight.
Miguel Galindo: You loved watching Miguel read to your daughter; she was only two, but when Daddy was talking, she would stop and listen. He had her full attention. “And so all of the ducklings went to the pond,” he said, his voice soft. Your baby patted the ducks in the book, giggling as she looked up at Miguel. “You like the ducks, mi princesa?” She nodded, reaching up and pulling at his beard. Miguel laughed, taking her little hand and kissing it. “Papa loves you,” he said quietly, “loves you more than anything...”
Nick Amaro: “And that’s why,” Nick said, reading from the book, “you never go somewhere with people you don’t know. If you are ever scared or in danger, you can always go to a police officer.” He stopped, looking down at your sons. “Do you know what number to call to get the police?” He asked them. “911!” They both answered at once. He nodded, high-fiving them both. “Good! Should we keep reading?” “Yes!” They both answered at once. You laughed, shaking your head. Gotta love twins.
Johnny Tuturro: Johnny was your daughter’s preferred bedtime story teller. He was very theatrical, so much so, that you loved storytime as much as your kid did. You sat in her tiny bed with her in your lap as Johnny performed the story, having memorized it by now. “And bam!” Johnny cried, pretending to shoot lasers from his hands. “Supercat defeated the evil Dr. Dog!” She clapped her hands. “And then what happened?” She asked, even though she knew the story by heart too. Johnny stood with his legs apart, holding his hands out dramatically. “But then,” he said slowly, “Mrs. Mouse came up and said,” his voice suddenly went higher, “ ‘SUPERCAT, HELP ME, SOMEONE STOLE MY WHEEL OF CHEESE!’”
Rio: Rio sat in bed, Marcus on his right, your daughter on his left, and the cat in his lap. His voice was low and deep, and your daughter was already nodding off; the cat had dozed off two stories ago. “Can you turn the page, Papa?” He asked. Marcus reached out and turned the page. “Thank you,” Rio said before continuing the story, “so the whole family got in the car and drove all night to get to the festival...” Marcus smiled, and so did you from your place at the door. Your daughter’s eyelids were fluttering, and Rio leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of her head as he read on.

Thanks for reading! Please let me know what you think! I made all these stories up except for Logan’s (and Angel’s haha). The story Logan is reading was my Mom’s favorite story to read us when we were little, she still quotes it to us now that we’re old and gross.

Time for a story - Dangerous Liaisons
“What would I do without you?”
Oliver smiled when he took the two milk cartons from Addie and Connor. The two toddlers smiled happily about the compliment. They were at that age to love helping in the house or the garden or whatever else the adults did. Of course their help usually caused things to take much longer, but Oliver didn’t mind.
Sometimes he really wished that he would have been given the chance to help as a child. Only Raisa had ever let him help with anything without making him feel like he was annoying. Maybe that had been part of the reason why he hadn’t given a damn anymore in his youth. If his help had meant that he was only in the way, it had seemed reasonable to not offer any more help eventually.
“Can we get more?”
“You could get two tins of sieved tomatoes.” Looking at Addie’s frowning face, he scrunched up his nose, trying to find the right words to explain that to Addie and Connor. “You know, the red tin that daddy always adds to his special spaghetti sauce.”
Addie thought about it for a moment before she nodded her head. Grabbing Connor’s hand, she pulled him to some shelves then. Oliver grinned, watching them disappear in some aisle.
Connor was only a day older than Addie. To say they were the same age was hitting the bull’s eye quite exactly. Because of that and because of the many playdates Lyla and Felicity had made for the two of them, they were best friends already now. Whenever there was a party that everyone of the Arrow Family attended, they always found themselves immediately. They had just gown up to become good friends. If their mothers had anything to say about it, they would certainly wish for them to become more than just friends.
Thinking about it, Oliver had to admit that there was something very sweet about the thought of Connor and Addie falling in love with each other. The Queens and Diggles had been through quite some tough times together. They were connected in ways that barely anyone would understand. Adding a little love story to it would be the little cherry on top. It would make their story almost ready to be used as a foundation for a movie.
With a shake of his head, Oliver got into the waiting line. He knew that Felicity and Lyla, just like him and John, wouldn’t mind if their families got connected like that. If it didn’t happen, neither of them would push for it. After all, they loved their kids too much to put their own romantics daydreams or their needs and wishes above the wellbeing of their children.
It only took a couple seconds more before Addie and Connor came running back. Each of them was carrying a can of sieved tomatoes in their hands. Once they stopped in front of them, Oliver put them into his cart and smiled at the both of them.
“You really are the best shopping assistants I could have asked for.”
Addie nodded proudly and high-fived Connor. “We really are.”
Chuckling, Oliver lifted her into his arms and kissed her cheek. Addie hadn’t always been the easiest to take care of. As a baby, she had driven him and Felicity insane because they hadn’t been able to guess what she had wanted and needed. She had been crying for hours without ever giving them a pause, and nothing could have helped to calm her down.
Now, it was quite different from that though. Addie was still not easy to take care of because she was stubborn and feisty, and she knew exactly what she wanted and what she didn’t want, but she was easier to calm down now than she had been back then. At least now she could tell them what she was thinking.
While Oliver was stroking his fingers through Connor’s short hair, he noticed that Addie’s focus had changed. She was smiling at something or someone behind him. The slight blush on her face and the way she looked away from whatever or whoever she was looking at told Oliver that she liked whatever she was seeing.
When Oliver turned his head back over his shoulder to follow his daughter’s gaze, he realized that she was keeping eye contact with some guy. He was standing a couple of feet behind them in line. Whenever Addie was looking in his direction, he was smiling or making faces though. Olive guessed that he was either a dad himself or that he had at least some toddlers in his close environment. Otherwise, he would never be this good at it. Most guys in their twenties didn’t know what to do with toddlers after all, and Oliver couldn’t really hold it against them. He had been no different at that age either.
Addie became uncalm quite soon, so Oliver let her back down to the floor. She leaned herself against his leg and wrapped both of her arms around his leg tightly. Again, Oliver looked into the direction of the man, Addie had been kind of flirting with. He was throwing Addie an air kiss by kissing the palm of his hand and blowing the kiss in her direction. Addie squealed excited, but she was hiding her reddened face against his legs nonetheless.
It was kind of sweet, Oliver thought to himself, especially because it was a rather rare view to see Addie so shy. Still, he had to admit that he wasn’t too happy about the whole situation. The thought that even his youngest daughter was now flirting with strangers reminded him that she was one day – even if it was taking two decades – finding someone she loved and start a family of her own. He was nowhere ready to face it, considering that he was nowhere ready to have his oldest son go to college somewhere far away from home either.
Since Addie was kind of struggling in his arms. Oliver kissed her cheek once more and let her down to the floor. Addie still held onto his legs, but she also continued looking at the stranger.
While Oliver wasn’t happy about the situation, Connor seemed to really hate it. As soon as Addie was standing next to him, he hit her. Addie seemed to be anything but pleased about it. She frowned at her friend angrily and hit him right back.
“No, no, no,” Oliver said when Connor lunched out again already and lifted him into his arms, “we don’t hit each other.”
“Addie- Addie-“
Connor seemed to be out of words which was kind of amusing to Oliver. He knew exactly what jealousy was like. He had experienced it himself more than once. In his marriage with Felicity, there had been so many moments that he had felt jealous. Only lately, he had realized that it was a completely useless emotion. That was why he had chosen to let go of all jealousy and trust Felicity a hundred percent. He knew that, if she was flirting with someone else, it never meant anything.
As Connor started crying, Oliver put his hand to the back of his head and pushed his face against his shoulder. Connor cried against it quietly.
“I know it sucks when the girl you love is seeing some other guy,” Oliver whispered to Connor’s ear, “but you have to woo her now instead of angering her.”
Connor frowned at him. “Woo her?”
“You have to be little, charming prince. You have to make her smile a lot.”
Connor’s frown deepened briefly, but he soon smiled and nodded his head. Oliver looked at him encouragingly once more before he kissed his cheek and set him back to the floor. The young boy took a step towards Addie, but she shot him an angry look and hid her face against Oliver’s leg.
“Addie, I’m sorry,” Connor said and put his hand to her back, rubbing it up and down, “forgive me?”
Addie frowned at Connor angrily once more. She couldn’t be mad with him for too long though. Connor was her best friend, and she always wanted to reconcile with him quickly. That was why she turned towards him and let him hug her.
Oliver smiled at the sight. The kids were still so young, but their hearts could already carry so much love. Oliver could only hope that they would never lose that.
“We do a princess tea party at home, okay?”
Addie nodded, excited about the idea. “With tea and crackers and feather boas.”
Connor nodded his head. “Okay.”
“Okay.”
When Addie started getting their supplies onto the counter, Connor turned his head towards Oliver once more. Oliver winked at him. Connor was without any doubt a good boy, and Oliver knew that, if time passed, Addie’s heart would be safe with him.
