Yes, ~Megara & Aiko~ back-to-back as a tribute to the blossoming new relationship. (how cute that these are the two LAST EVER entrants for both of those countries ♥). Star-crossed pansexuals forever tethered side-by-side in this ranked afterlife. THIS is how you do serendipitous running orders, Christer, fucking take notes. (Another fragment of my neurodivergent soul destoyed when he decided to put Megara 10th in the r/o and make 11:11 the 12th overall song to be performed that night).

But Aiko and Megara also represent the duality of modern day NQs. While Aiko delivered a good vocal, glammed-up to a 7.5/10 and still died (lol though luck fighting those bookmakers, girl), Kenzie delivered an ABSOLUTELY ROTTEN VOCAL, downgraded to a 7.5/10 and logically died because it's San Fucking Marino. 😍

Loredana Bertè, Mia Martini's estranged blue-haired sister who crossed over from San Remo for the sole purpose of terrorizing her ex-husband Björn Borg, and performed in her usual style: dressed as a schoolgirl (she's over 70 btw), hands in her pockets, fully disassociated, sounding like she was halfway through her fourth bottle of Disaronno.

How is ANY of this a waking reality?! Megara beating Loredana last-minute was the icing on the cake because while the notion of Pazza is funny enough (it rhymes "artifice" with "toothpaste" <3), Megara at least had... a concept? an Idea? A song?

And then we got to the contest itself. The preview comes in and has THE EXACT SAME IMPACT ON ME as Bambie's did in the first semi - STOP ALL THE PRESSES, I WANT TO SEE THIS IN FULL IDGAF ABOUT ANY OF THE OTHERS OR MY PERSONAL HEALTH AND RESPONSIBLIITIES!!!! you know, the usual hinged eurofan stuff.

When we finally got to the full live omg ♥ A fantastic act completely PULVERIZED into death by Kenzie's inability to perform ♥ From actually WALKING OFF THE SCREEN

to having her own small Emily Roberts moment in the second chorus

Shittastic. it worked because, thankfully, the song WAS fodder to begin with (no losses there) and the staging -conceptually at least- was visionary. This is probably the best San Marino have ever staged.

This (metaphorical) shit was masterfully staged and Kenzy still served LOOKS AND ENERGY despite failing at everything else.

If you're going to be hopeless, then be hilariously bad at giving hope, is what I say.

11:11 was pure chaos on a black-and-pink demon barber pole, which for experimental art rock serving as a middle finger to Spain's lack of taste, is a pretty good medium of expression. The way Megara were guaranteed double digit points because the Mericones (this year's honorary name for Cigarillos/Spanish Fags btw..x) were casting votes in this semi (♥) allowed them to give zero fucks. ♥

Of course, if Megara (and specifically Kenzie) had been in any way competent, then 11:11 could have qualified with that act, and that would have been ICONIC. But they weren't and we missed out on another SF2 epic turnaround, which is probably why I'm not ranking them amongst the very good entries this year. (also, if I did I'd be compelled to rank 'em 11th and LOL @ bumping Aiko up to 12th place). I'm accepting of 11:11's shortcomings, but also acknowledge that it has them. The quality standards were surprisingly high this year, and I enjoy the remaining entries sufficiently that I don't need to cling to Megara as hard as I normally would. Fun filler it is, and that's the perfect endpoint for San Marino's journey.

Night had just fallen and you and Chopper were slowly returning to the Sunny.

The reindeer chattered happily with his little Jack-o'lantern-shaped basket filled with candy between his hooves. You watched him with your hands in your pockets while he was gesticulating in waves . You briefly remembered how he had moaned earlier in the evening from the bench at the aquarium because he didn't want to go. He had proclaimed loudly that he was too old for this childish activity.

Yet here he was now, with a stock of impression candy, jumping around after having wreaked havoc among the women of the island.

As you got on the boat, you passed Robin coming out of the library. Chopper immediately ran towards her.

“Robin!” he shouted, banging his basket over his head. “Trick or Treat, please?”

The woman froze but, under your unimpressed gaze, she smiled before putting her hand in her pocket. The reindeer's eyes sparkled as she took out some sweets and placed them in the hollow pumpkin.

And, happy, Chopper thanked her then left for his quarters humming.

It had its advantages to have such a cute face.

With that, he raised his index finger to his nose and remained there until, three seconds later, his usual cut transformed into a star cut. Then on an antenna. And in Iroquois cut. Before having the aesthetic equivalent of a broom on your head. Finally, after his hair took the shape of a cannon, it changed one last time to become a long, smooth, blue mass of hair. They were so long that they reached down to the small of his back over his short-sleeved black and white striped t-shirt.

“Who do you want to be for the party?” you asked, pulling out an assortment of brushes and hair products.

A smile formed on the lips of the cyborg who retrieved a red ball from his pocket before hanging it on his nose. The smile on his lips was now bright.

"You're joking?" you tried to reassure yourself.

But Franky simply told you that Luffy-boy had told him that he was wearing a long ponytail when he met him in Impel Down. You budded a little but you still got to work. After three-quarters of an hour of work, and countless complaints that you were pulling too hard or that it was too tight, you finally finished your work. Franky then stood up to admire the beautiful, shiny, bouncy blue ponytail that rested at his back.

He raised his thumb in recognition and happily walked away, his hair flying in the wind.

You then went toward him, curious to know the reason for his calm, and you were surprised to see a multitude of candles lit in front of him. They had been placed haphazardly on the ground but they remained close together, as if they were all connected with a single flame. In front of them, Brook looked at them without moving.

Not daring to break the moment, you sat next to him without saying a word.

"I miss them." you heard him whisper after a while without moving his eye sockets.

Then, without you being able to respond, he began to hum softly with the breeze of the wind as his only instrument.

Arms loaded with a crate filled with lights, pumpkin garland and paper decorations, you followed Bepo without slowing down. The polar bear spoke happily - for once - while he himself held another crate overflowing with decorations.

He finally dropped her off when you arrived at the Polar Tang dining hall.

He then immediately began to pull chairs in order to climb on them to attach the Halloween banners that he had made especially for the occasion. Then came the fairy lights and fake spiders.

It felt a little strange to see the normally minimalist submarine transform before your eyes and yet, despite what one might think, Bepo had Law's approval to change the layout of the entire ship. The only prohibition he had was against adding dust or fake cobwebs. This seemed not hygienic enough for the surgeon.

On the table, he placed a skull for each person with their first names written on it.

In the corridors, he placed candles on which he had drawn ghost heads, then, on the walls, he stuck swarms of cardboard bats. On the other hand, he let customized balloons fly up to the ceiling. He finally finished by erecting small personalized tombs in front of each crew member's rooms.

He then went to find his captain when he was satisfied with the result, proud as a child, so that he could present to him a preview of the result of his hard work.

ADIRA DID U WATCH THE FIRST EP OF TLOU

Hey there, frand!

I didn't actually play the game--I am not really good at games that require a lot of stealth and aim. Add in a horror element and I lock up real hard. But my SO played it and I watched a good portion of that. And then when I heard Pedro got the role I watched the cut scenes. @something-tofightfor clued me in that a lot of the story actually takes place during the gameplay, that there's a lot of things said or done that really cement the characters' bond, so I watched an entire playthrough. (I also watched a TLOU II playthrough, but I have a lot of issues with it, so if I ever write fic, that second one will not exist for me.)

So I knew what was going on. And it's been really fun having folks around me at all levels of experience with these characters. The SO has spent hours with them in the game (and I believe he's played it twice), and my BFF knows almost nothing. Hearing both of their reactions to the first episode has been very interesting. And, of course, knowing how much this show overlaps loves for Rachael (something-tofightfor) and watching her enjoy this all come to life has been a fkn joy.

My own reaction? Has been puzzling. Thank you for asking my opinion, because it gives me a moment to dissect and figure out why I'm feeling the way I am.

I will start off by saying that I love the show. I love the aesthetic and the acting. I love the changes they made and think there are some clever enhancements to the story. I wasn't looking forward to Tess but I am surprised at how much I love her character in this show and how much her character enhances both Joel and Ellie's. Bella of course is brilliant and is Ellie.

Weirdly, the issue I'm having is with Pedro. Kind of.

He is rocking it. He is amazing. Like everyone says, he is doing award-worthy work.

But I'm not connecting. I'm not falling in love. And I can't figure out why.

Possibility: this is the first time I've gotten to witness so much behind the scenes stuff while the show was being filmed while I was also a fan that maybe I'm having trouble separating Pedro the actor from Joel the character.

Possibility: I've been waiting so long for this that nothing can possibly match the expectations I've built up.

Possibility: Maybe I should have gone in with less knowledge and let myself be moved organically.

Possibility: I knew that they'd have to make Joel more vulnerable, but I didn't realize just how very broken this version of him would be. And it makes me S A D. Maybe because we saw so much of him in 2003 that the hard switch to this very numb man holding onto his pain feels so far beyond the reach of the heart that I can't find a softness foothold in him and I just slide off him. At least game Joel had the tiniest bit of confidence and sparkle at the beginning--and he needed to be that in order to move through the game. But Pedro's Joel is just barely surviving. And it hurts. And it's brilliant.

And it's this last possibility--if I know myself--that I'm assuming. Because I know what's coming. And I know that Ellie will wear away at that numb exterior and reveal those footholds. Just like Din, Pedro's gonna start us off with someone impenetrable and then show cracks under stress, cracks that let the light through. Just like Din, I will find Joel amazing and compelling at first, someone I love to watch but don't hook into...until the armor comes off and the heart is revealed and then I'm gonna fall really R E A L L Y hard.

And this may be why I'm not drawn to any of the fanfic just yet. I am a soft, soft girl and I can't just go straight to the sex. Especially not the hard sex. I am not someone that wants a dude to treat me rough and dominate me or treat me like a toy or object, I don't want to be the receptacle for hate or anger or pure stress relief without emotional connection. Nor can my heart handle pure, concentrated angst without the possibility of it paying off toward a happy or hopeful ending. (SPOILER: Yes, I know where this show is going, and I still find emotional hope and happiness in the ending. It counts.) And the Joel we know right now seems built for those preferences. To all those writers and readers, I am beyond thrilled for you because fk, Joel is Fertile Ground™. (This is kind of the opposite of me just rolling in the soft gold that Javi G gave us 😂)

But I do love that this Joel is custom built for a more mature girl and reader characters of his age range. I will echo Rachael's opinions that with his paternal instincts toward very young women, I don't think he's an age-gap kind of guy. And neither will he put up with anything less than common sense. And I find that very, very attractive.

What I can't fall in love with is someone devoid of emotion or someone saturated only with sorrow. My heart isn't built that way.

Thankfully, I know that Joel will evolve.

And I really really can't wait to see the scene that opens up and swallows me. That's what I'm excited for. This series has expanded on the story and adjusted Joel just enough that I don't know when that's going to happen or how intensely....and I'm so looking forward to it.

In that way, it's not a problem at all. I kind of love that I'm not falling for Joel just because it's Pedro.

And I think that is the stamp on his talent. That even thought I love our boy, he has done such a phenomenal job at bringing me away from that love and back to the starting line with Joel, starting his character not at an easy place where we love him already, but one that has to be earned.

I think....I think Pedro might break me really hard with this one....

SUMMARY:

San was often told that he was everything a girl wanted to date: handsome, funny and smart. That was until they got to know him better. Then he was told he was too much, too overwhelming, had too many emotions and was too chaotic. Thus his experience with dating was not as good as one would have thought. The problem: he has the biggest crush on a girl he met whilst studying abroad. But every time he messages his crush, he seems to mess things up further and further. With the help of his hyperactive friends he tries to win Ara's heart but before that, he has to convince her he doesn't actually hate her.

1)ㅤCrush Rush used to be a social media au for another group but I’ve decided to rebrand it using ATEEZ. The overall story and characters are the same, I just assigned a member to every character and changed some small details. This new version is also gonna be (hopefully) an improvement of the previous one, since it’s gonna be more detailed; besides, I believe my writing is slightly better compared to when I first started the story in September 2020.

It’s f!reader and I gave her a name because I dislike using Y/N but I’ve abstained from giving detailed descriptions of her to improve the reading experience for the people who like x reader stories. My main character is a Korean-American so she has two names: the American one is Aria and the Korean one is Ara.

3) There are quite a few ships in this story so if this is not your cup of tea, feel free to skip. However, note that I DON’T BELIEVE any of those people are dating in real life and I’m not pushing any agenda. I’m just using ships because of the characters, it’s for the aesthetic of the story. Some of the ships you may encounter are Seonghwa & Hongjoong and some weirder ones like Le Sserafim’s Chaewon & Mingi, as well as past Chaewon & Wooyoung. Again, I’m not shipping the actual people who have probably never even interacted properly. Future WooSan is possible too.

RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS

Ara & San

They met while San and his friends were studying abroad in the USA branch of KQ University for an year (the next year they transferred back to the same university but the one based in South Korea). Even though they haven’t interacted much, San felt an instant connection with her and quickly develops a crush on her that he decides to act on years later.

Ara & Chaewon

Best friends who are in the same major, Applied Linguistics. They’re studying in the USA branch of KQ University.

San & Wooyoung

Best friends turned rivals, but not really. Their relationship becomes more complicated after an unfortunate discovery which threatens to destroy their precious friendship.

San, Wooyoung, Mingi & Hongjoong

They are close friends who share an apartment in South Korea since they’re studying in the KQ University there. They have a group chat and their relationship is usually playful, but sometimes, due to their personality differences, some serious problems arise.

Ok, but I'm kind of frustrated with the people on steam? Hyperlight breaker has been out into E A R L Y access for lime three hours, and people be screaming like it just killed their mothers? I for once had fun already and can't wait to keep exploring all the early access has to offer.

That being said, my rig is on the older side barely meeting the minimum requirements and dropping to around 10fps when facing a large group of enemies or looking into the large distance (god forbid both) And there could be more tutorialisation for the new players. Also there really could be more setting options, and one time a group of enemies spawned underground. And not having a starter rail makes you far less comfortable than you should be at the start

But there is also a lot I love already, the customisation and making builds is great, the exploration is much better than I expected, it feels like I should be checking every corner because there will be some important stuff, the anesthetics and silent narrative, we'll leave it to heart machine to make the best si-fy aesthetic I've seen yet, AGAIN. And while melee combat isn't the next devil may cryonetta it is still very much decent, focusing on precise dodging and using rails. Tight and blood pumping already (even though I did not have much time to experimental yet)
