Has Grrm said in any interviews anything that would suggest Dany's show ending is different than the books?
He did exactly the contrary:
He was asked to comment about the differences between the book and show characters, particularly Daenerys. GRRM ignored all the other characters and talked only about Daenerys - he said that the show one is older because there are laws in USA that prevent minors from having sex scenes so the decision was made to age Daenerys. Otherwise, book Daenerys and show Daenerys “are very similar” and “Emilia Clarke did a fantastic job”. (I guess he can’t really say negative things about the show, can he?)
—GRRM Q&A - St. Petersburg, August 2017
---
I don’t think Dan and Dave’s ending is going to be that different from my ending. But on certain secondary characters there may be big differences.
—How will George R.R. Martin’s final “Game of Thrones” books end? - 2019
---
WELT: Again: We know what will happen to the Mother of Dragons. How do you want to surpass that in a novel – with an alternative literary version?
GRRM: Counter question: How many children did Scarlett O'Hara have? In Margaret Mitchell’s novel “Gone with the Wind” she had three children. But in the cinema version of the novels she only had one child. Which version is the only one valid - the one with one or the other with three children? The answer is: neither. Because Scarlett O'Hara never existed, she is a fictional character, not a real person, who would have had real children. Or take “The Little Mermaid”. We know her from the fairytale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen and from the Disney movie. Which one is the true mermaid? Well, mermaids do not exist. So you can chose the version that you personally like the best. Changes are inevitable in this process. Even if the adaption is as faithful to the literary source material as it was the case with “Game of Thrones”.

Horse knowledge, Tom Burke, and Game of Thrones when it was MOSTLY good.
Like many people, I've been devouring gif-sets from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga with Tom Burke in them.
I am also constantly seeing "Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack" next to "Tom Burke as Athos" from The Three Musketeers, because Tom is also in that series. Such a hilarious contrast, lmao.
I'm betting his cast-mates just had a blast seeing him covered in dirt and gunning a War Rig through the Wasteland.
Apparently in The Three Musketeers, Tom could barely get off his horse, so the cameras had to keep cutting from "Tom is riding a horse" to "Tom is back on the ground! You saw how the other guys got off their horses, right??? That's... that's also how HE did it, yep!" and I have so many questions, lmao.
The Three Musketeers, and Tom Burke's adaptation of the novel called "The Musketeers," is a story set in the 1600s!
A lot of actors take a few weeks of riding lessons so they don't die when they get on a horse, because it's a great skill if you need to audition for a fantasy/period piece. If you end up in a LOT of fantasy/period pieces, you have a high likelihood of being an ACTUAL rider, like Viggo Mortensen.
In The Musketeers, Tom Burke is playing one of the titular musketeers, whose JOB is to ride horses and fight, so I'm guessing he got a BIT more instruction than "how to not die."
Dismounting a horse should NOT be hard, coming from a novice and very short horse rider! Right after your first hour of How To Not Die On A Horse, you switch one leg to the other side and jump off. And... yeah, that's it. That's all I can instruct people about "dismounting a horse" without having an actual horse to demonstrate. Details vary, but the basics are the same!
Normally if someone "can't get off the horse," it's because they're sick/injured or disabled, or because they're a young child who is really tiny and really fragile, so it's safer to get someone else to lift them off.
I hate using this particular scene for "how would people get helped on or off of a horse?" but in Game of Thrones, the short teenage girl is Daenerys (played by Emilia Clarke) and she's just married a huge and muscular warlord named Drogo (played by Jason Momoa).
youtube
Context: Daenerys probably knows HOW to ride, but she's currently scared out of her mind. She's having an arranged marriage--she knows nothing about Drogo besides "he's a foreign warlord, and my brother needs his army," she can't even tell her new husband "thank you for this beautiful horse" in his language, and her dress is gauzy and see-through silk that's wayyyyyy too expensive for riding.
At 3:50 minutes, Drogo just picks her up and sticks her on the horse, and that's pretty much how you'd lift someone off a horse if they can't dismount normally.
I'm Filipino and trying to less-fetishize Khal Drogo in this Medieval European Analog story, so going on how Drogo's later shown to be VERY well-spoken in his native language Dothraki, I guess he's thinking "Goddamn, my new wife is tiny. But I already gave her this horse in public--even if she's okay switching it out, everyone ELSE will ask questions if her 'wedding horse' is a foot shorter than it used to be. Is she gonna grow more? Can she mount up without stairs? FUCK THAT, STAIRS ARE FOR PUSSIES. I'M THE STAIRS. YOINK!"
But see, Tom Burke is an adult, there are no extenuating circumstances like "being married to a MASSIVE foreigner that you've met exactly once," and he's SIX FEET TALL! Tom should NOT need Jason Momoa to lift him on or off a horse!
An average horse who's big enough to carry most adults is about 15 hands high, or MY height (5 feet tall). "The Musketeers" show does have the pitfall of having FRENCHMEN in the 1600s riding practically-modern FRIESIAN horses from the Netherlands, probably because Friesians have nice hair, but height-wise, they're not known to be VERY tall.
Here's a shot of Athos/Tom leading his good Dutch boy, Roger!
Tom/Athos is at least a head above Roger! Friesians are thick-boned and often burly for their height, so Tom/Athos still looks just fine in the shots I've seen of him riding in "The Musketeers." And like... he literally looks okay while riding in the screenshots, since he's never clinging on for dear life or looking like he's about to fall off.
If he was just terrible at riding in general, they probably wouldn't have picked him for the show, or if they really liked his chemistry and acting but knew he would die on a horse, they'd get a riding double for him specifically.
How did Tom fuck up "getting off a horse" so badly that everyone went "nope, we're not filming that"??? And did he just never get better at it for TWO WHOLE YEARS, or was he a mysteriously slow learner when it came to exactly one aspect of horse riding???

someone asked what their fave gym equipment is (wtf) and misha said it's the towel to slap others on the butt with
but they were very fun!!
some people decided to tell a sob story at the mic which wasted time. like they know you love supernatural, they know you're nervous, you don't need to tell them.
they joked around a lot
three touches!! fingers, high five, hug!!!
you can just see how much they adore each other
darius was sitting on the steps but they wouldn't give him a microphone :( hopefully he'll come out at misha's panel tomorrow

one person spent five minutes monologuing
misha said people should ask him questions on their knees

question abt cas in the winchesters and cas returning!! how to address the confession!! jensen thinks the confession was a long time coming and beautiful and raw and real!! dean understands cas loved him!! said cas saying he loves dean was clear text (rather than subtext) said cas and jensen found each other and when they meet again cas' feelings are just understood
says demon dean is stronger than soldier boy bc demon dean has no soul
boys question - jensen talks about herogasm, jack quaid just told jensen good luck when he went on set, nobody on set knew what was lube and what was hand sanitizer, he was unprepared to see so many naked people, he was standing next to a guy when the robes came off and he "had to do the glance", couldn't help looking at people having sex "there's four people here in a position i've never seen before"
woman crying while asking a question
woman said dj said he wanted to exchange his husband for jensen, and jensen said he doubts it because ty is pretty great
woman telling bad jokes, one about how women having orgasms is like a snowstorm because you can't see it coming?? not true for either i think
jensen needs to do more solo panels. i could listen to him talk for hours
i can't believe i was in the same room as this man wtf

FULL NAME — Valletta “Valley” Cambridge FACECLAIM — Emilia Clarke GENDER & PRONOUNS — cis woman, she/her AGE — 35 BIRTHDAY — August 20, 1989 OCCUPATION — Independently Wealthy NEIGHBORHOOD — Oak Gardens LENGTH OF TIME IN BLUE HARBOR — Since January 2024
BIOGRAPHY | STATISTICS
tw: poverty, fire, family death, grooming & age gap relationships
What your characters would know:
Valletta (or Valley, as her friends call her) comes from an aristocratic family in a sleepy Connecticut suburb. She was a cheerleader, prom queen, and was president of her sorority in college. She has an art history degree, and spends most of her time on philanthropic efforts, including event planning for charity galas and other fundraisers. She’s estranged from her family, and twice divorced, and came to Blue Harbor for a fresh start.
What they (probably) don't know:
None of that is true. She was born dirt poor, and lost her entire family in a single night when their trailer caught on fire. She was groomed by the father of the friend who took her in, but when she married and divorced him, she got half his money. The money gave her power and freedom and safety she'd never known, and she made a career out of marrying men and taking their money. Just this past year, she fucked up and fell in love with her last husband (number 5). He found out about her lies, and she didn't take a dime from him in the divorce. She did move to Blue Harbor for a fresh start, that much is true. She's been living at the Jade Palace hotel for seven months. She's starting to think she might stay in town.
Wanted Connections:
I'm going to make a full wanted connection for her most recent ex-husband, I need that drama
Gonna make one for the friend whose dad she married too lmao
As you can imagine, most people won't know her very well (nobody does!!!) but I would love for anybody to try to figure her out, or try to love her, or try to expose her, whatever!

Why do you think there is so much animosity between Sansa fans and Dany fans? I can understand how conflict comes up between Sansa fans and Arya fans given the conflict between the characters but I can’t figure out what the issue is with Dany fans vs Sansa fans. It can’t JUST be because of shipping, right? I’m a big fan of Dany, Arya, and Jon, but I still do like (canon) Sansa as a character and honestly see a lot of similarities between her and Dany. Their stories have definite parallels and anti parallels and I don’t really know why I don’t see anyone else talk about it. Every time I try to talk to a Sansa blog or a fellow Dany blog about it, I never hear back. What gives??
I don't like the both siding in this ask. Sansa fans keep spewing hateful nonsense, farcical theories and made up headcanons in the form of 'intellectual' discourse in the Dany/Arya/Jon tags and then when book fans of those characters respond, the so called 'neutral' bnfs pretend both sides are to blame.
All this explained very clearly here.
And while I personally feel that Dany and Sansa have very little in common as characters, there's a lot of fandom metas/essays/gifsets and fanarts paralleling these two as fandom faves. You should be able to find them on many of the character blogs if you are interested in that sort of thing.
IMO, Daenerys is clearly written as a tier I main character. She drives her story more than any other character in the series as the sole representative of her house and considering how isolated she is from every other POV character. The story in her POV is about her.
If we are looking at parallels, then it's Daenerys and Arya who have a lot of commonality in their way of thinking, their concern for the little guy, in their ideas of justice and dispensing that justice, right and wrong, their toughing it out on their way to the top, their proactive nature in getting things done, to be in charge, their love of nature etc.
With respect to the increase in toxicity from the Sansa fandom post show, then yes, that's because of shipping and Jonsa. A lot of the hate that the character of Daenerys gets is from Sansa fans - especially on Tumblr - because of her foreshadowed future relationship with Jon Snow and they want fanon, self-insert Sansa to have Dany's plot importance and story in the books. It's different on asoiaf sites like Reddit and Westeros.org - the majority of Dany hate on there is from Stannis/Jon Snow fans who are not big fans of a female character being the prophesied chosen one/top dog of the series.
And I point to shipping being the big reason because of my personal fandom experience on this site. This is me going down memory lane but I remember around 2015/16, I wrote these angry, frustrated posts calling out the TV show for taking Jon's book plot and writing that for show Sansa and Sansa's actions in the Battle of the Bastards in season 6. At that time a lot of Dany fans were also big Sansa fans and attacked me for being a 'misogynistic dudebro'. I am not naming names - shit's in the past - but I used to get blocked and get hateful inbox messages for criticizing show Sansa's actions.
During season 6 there were so many posts about Jon Snow being an useless idiot who deserved to die, Sansa was right to not tell him because he's a moron, Sansa's the politician/general who knows best, she deserved to be queen, Jon's the worst for stealing Sansa's birthright else Sansa and Dany would have ruled as best queens of westeros etc. - all from Daenerys fans!!
This was some kind of superficial notion of girl power with Sansa and Dany girlbossing around Westeros, bow down before these Queens sort of thing and fuck the actual book story. Arya was never included in these conversations because she did not wear dresses and Maisie Williams was not conventionally beautiful like Emilia Clarke and Sophie Turner and therefore did not fit into these Girlboss headcanons.
And then before season 7 was when we got the leaked spoilers of Jonerys meeting at Dragonstone. And this was when the full toxicity of the Jonsa shippers was unleashed. This was when we got 'Political!Jon' and all sorts of vile hate for Daenerys and more and more Dany fans started to react to that hate from the Sansa fandom.
Fandom always, always influences our likes and dislikes of characters (This is why I stay away from some fandoms - I don't want to end up hating characters) And this is what happened here. The Sansa/Jonsa fandom was so vile that a lot of Dany fans on tumblr stopped stanning for Sansa.
Fast forward to 2019 and the same Dany stans - again, not naming names but the very same Dany stans - who attacked me for being a sexist, male dude for critiquing show Sansa in season 6, started critiquing show Sansa when Dany got the same treatment that Jon, Arya and Bran got before her with the show tearing down these characters to prop up Sansa. Suddenly it was no longer misogynistic to call out how these characters were being torn down in order to prop up Sansa when they share scenes with her 😂😂😂.
That’s why I don’t hold much stock in words like ‘misogyny’ and ‘sexist’ randomly thrown around without context by the stans of female characters to attack people for critiquing said female character. I have been at the receiving end of this for years from the Jonsa fandom because I call out their utter nonsense.
The sexism and misogyny occurs when a female character is criticized for doing the same thing a male character is praised for - for ex. Daenerys gets a lot of this because she has parallel arcs with Jon Snow and very often she gets attacked for doing the same things that Jon is praised for. Even the show did this - Dany getting unfair flack for executing traitors when Jon Snow and the North do it all the time. The sexism is in how Arya gets attacked as being ‘male-coded’ because she’s not the right kind of girl. The sexism is in the slut shaming and commentary about how Daenerys is not the right kind of rape victim. The sexism is in the popular theories like political!Jon - wherein Jon Snow turns into LF 2.0 and sexually manipulates and seduces a rape victim.
Sexism is not simply liking a male character or critiquing a female character - there needs to be context. One does not simply throw around these heavy words simply to attack other bloggers to win fandom points. The word then loses it’s meaning.
So yeah, I ended up going on a tangent about my fandom experiences when the show was running. I do think a lot of the beef and toxicity in this fandom comes from shipping and Sansa fans wanting her to be something she is not. They want her to be a tier I main character with the story revolving around her love life as she Disney princess rules the North with sewing and dancing. And this leads to them diminishing the actual main characters and taking away from main characters to give to her. Naturally fans of the main character are going to push back against this.
And Sansa is a classist, sexist character and so her fans espouse classist, sexist viewpoints to justify her actions. Their love for all things 'traditional' and sticking to the status quo - 'Jon being KITN would be boring, he should stay a bastard, Arya being lady of WF is not right as she does not want to wear dresses, Dany will be mad like her father she can't escape her genes, Tyrion is doomed' etc. is based on Sansa being a traditional, pro-status quo character. Hence why there is so much clashing of ideas and discourse happening in the fandom.
So yeah. Honestly, I am just tired of seeing all these posts bothsiding fandom drama and making it seem like all the stans are equally responsible when the majority of fandom toxicity is started by stans of one character - Sansa - with the result being fans of other characters pushing back against their nonsense.

⸻ ( emilia clarke, 32, cis woman, she/her ) — Look who it is! If you take a look at our database, you’ll find that MINA HARKER is a HISTORIAN that works in SECTOR 5. According to the file, they’re a mutant with the power of PORTAL GENERATION. That must be why they’re AMBITIOUS and CALLOUS. If you ask me, they remind me of the teeth which snap white as the moon and ask why must i bite? a hunger at war with a prayer to be consumed and needed, it’s hell on earth to be heavenly, leather clad fingers for shall these hands ne'er be clean? girlhood is like godhood; begging to be believed. They are affiliated with THE MUTANTS’ SOCIETY.
basic information :
character name: wilhelmina harker
nickname (s): mina
face claim: emilia clarke
mutation status: gen ii
birthday: october 30th
sexuality: bisexual
moral alignment: neutral good
occupation: historian
work sector: sector 5
affiliation: the mutants' society
3 positive traits: ambitious , resourceful , resilient
3 negative traits: callous , unforgiving , calculating
biography (optional): coming soon
questionnaire :
how do they feel about living in sol city ? have they always lived there or did they travel from another settlement ?
mina has lived in sol city all her life , and knows nothing beyond the quiet life her parents wish her to lead of marriage and family . she hungers for more than this , mistrusting of this place and how perfect it feels . she has a habit of feeling unsafe at the best of times , a rebellious nature which sees her venturing further into the city , a hunger for truth and for knowledge which drives her .
do they trust the council’s leadership ? why or why not ?
no , but mina doesn't trust any organisation led up only by humankind . she keeps quiet about it , because she knows what's good for her — but she has never trusted them or believed that they work for what's in her , or anyone else's , best interests .
if they chose their sector and profession , why did they make that choice ? if they didn’t, why not ? were they happy with their assignment or not ?
mina has long craved the sort of work she does now , that of collecting knowledge and storing it away for later use . she chose her sector for these exact reasons , and is perfectly content in the work that she does .
what’s one object that they always keep on their person ?
a gold , heart shaped locket with a picture of her little sister .
(mutant only section)
what is your character’s ability ( or abilities ) ?
portal generation .
are they gen i or gen ii ?
gen ii .
what can your character do? what are their strengths ?
mina can open a hole in the universe connecting two non-adjacent locations . this may be done in a very neat manner , such as connecting two doorways in the universe , or it may be done very sloppily like breaking a rift in the space-time continuum . they may use dimensional manipulation to tear a tiny hole through two universes , use spatial manipulation to overlap two points in the universe or a wormhole connecting those two points . this is another form of teleportation . mina can create a portal that also allows her to teleport alongside people or direct their attacks .
this ability may come in the form of a "portable portal", which allows mina to make instant holes in anything the circle can be stuck to . offensively , mina can create vortexes to suck in objects .
what can’t they do ? what are their weaknesses ?
portal negation is a direct counter . portals may become unstable . portals may lead to a different yet dangerous location . has limits for the distance , number and / or size of the portals . mina may not always have the power to close the open portal , allowing others to also gain access . some portals require manual closing behind them . if left open , enemies may freely travel through and follow mina . portal redirection can divert travellers and appear somewhere not of their intention . if portals close while mina is part-way through , it can easily bisect them regardless of their indestructibility . if mina wishes to travel to a certain area that said place would be unavailable due to the portal being shut down. if there is an alternate reality entered from the portal , the enterer just has to ask to go back .
is there anything else you’d like to specify about them ?
coming soon .

narrative...
perhaps they do not see it in you , all the terrible things you can be . beauty is everything you've offered the world thus far , that is what a loveless father might hush when you aim true for a heart he does not know how to warm — your delicacy is in the smooth polish of your skin alone . in your dainty hands and long lashes , it is your eyes which hint at the ugliness you've hatched within yourself . eyes like a storm , like a hidden dagger in their pretty sparkling blue . you are fed up of gentle , beautiful things . you were born , bred , raised a bolton , and ugliness is your inheritance .
your powerlessness is all outstretched palms trying to slow your descent , the promise of marriage is the pit you hurtle towards and you will not lock yourself docilely within the prison of a man . you have raged against this possibility , though love is something your scribble of a soul has begged for , pleaded to the sky to promise you one soul in this world who might love the thing that you are .
born screeching , you have never taken tenderly to anything thrust your way . you read for you ought to sharpen the mind . you wonder if you were made this way — tutors would call you a little liar with a tongue made of blasphemy , a refusal to sit idly and be a lady of house bolton . you preferred to run , and earned the approval of your elders with your thrown fists at the other kids , how your eyes shone under the glint of a weapon in hand . a bow and an arrow thrust into your pale fists felt like an extension of your being , and you found something you truly loved .
you grew older , more beautiful ; dazzling in fact . demands were made , to become a wife you must set aside your feral manner and embrace the tender beauty of girlhood . you could not give into it , you could not bow your head and be something palatable to a spouse who would take you from your home , lonely though it might be . your hand was promised anyhow , the prophecy written . betrothal made , you run from it each day , putting off the desperate , rotten truth of what awaits you at the end of this ledge you teeter upon . you do not know what love is , but you know it musn't be this . you know only what potential is , that which sits in your chest , a burning thing . can't you be more than a wife ? can't house bolton shed its strange and eery shadow and breathe a sigh of rebirth ? can't you help it be more than what it is ?
# wanted connections.
love's never lost when perspective is earned: a childhood friend lost to the years .
milah has struggled with other people her whole life and only one dug their way into her heart . all can be plotted together , but eventually their friendship / bond / whatever it may be faded until she thought them perhaps dead ( because how could such a bond ever break ? ) . to find them alive and well , she will think the worst , that she meant nothing to them , become mean and they especially know who she is when she is hurt ( wretched ) .
a greater woman stays cool , but i howl like a wolf at the moon : the dreaded betrothal .
this betrothal is probably recent with milah having outrun it most of her life . she is faithful to house bolton , however , and understands the need for allies ; so she finally gives over her hand . despite the mess of a woman she is , the yearning for a life of solitude , milah does crave the love she was never offered as a child , this can be found cowering behind the stony demeanour she presents to the world . we can plot everything out , but she will generally be a grump about the whole situation , mostly refusing to open herself up to even a friendship with her spouse to be .
more to come <33
#this is a MESS and will be a work in progress for a while bear with me <3#𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎 . — milah#westeros.intro

Rewatching SI EP 3
*spoilers spoilers spoilers*
"We're gonna be uniquely programmed weapons of mass destruction. All of us. Super Skrulls" you stole yourselves destructive powers. That's never ever ended badly for the perpetrators before, so I'm sure you'll be fine
"I invite you to join me in the extinction of the human race" tired of waiting we do it ourselves, eh?
I'm side-eyeing Fury because it seems like he noticed Varra only when she looked human and she always wears her fake human face with him. Perhaps I'm overthinking this
a foldable smartphone? She's gonna be evil, isn't she?
"I'm a good liar" I'd suggest a re-evaluation of your proficiency level, Gravik's been onto you since last episode
I keep forgetting they're in the UK until someone gets into a car and the wheel is on the "wrong" side lol
Talos, why are you telling him your plans?
they really should not have put the multiple Graviks scene in the trailer. Or I need to stop watching trailers so when something cool happens I can actually be surprised
Is it me or Neptune is a lazy name for a sub?
This show needs 100 % more Olivia Colman. Also, Hasbro, Funko & co, if you sell an owl with an eyepatch, I'm going to buy it
The deconstruction of Nick Fury continues. Much of his professional success was apparently due to the advantage of having a team of shapeshifters at his disposal, of which SHIELD knew nothing about
Skrulls don't just get long term memories thanks to those contraptions they stuff the people they imitate in but also, apparently, feelings, because I don't think the kid was a Skrull, which means "Bob" cared for his wellbeing like his real father would. And I'm guessing they had already established this and the characters know, otherwise Fury wouldn't have threatened the boy
Fury keeps saying nobody calls him Nick but there are at least 4 or 5 documented instances of friends/allies calling him Nick.
How big of a fridge did the writers' room came equipped with?!
but I doubt this is the last time we see Emilia Clarke in the show. Either that wasn't the real G'iah or some other kind of fake-out
Mrs. Fury is conspiring with someone who sounded suspiciously like Rhodey. Who called Fury "Nick". Confirmation or misdirection?
I still really hope Rhodey isn't a Skrull. Besides being predictable, that rather brilliant convo with Fury last ep loses a lot of points if he was an impostor

and it becomes your most hated book of all time - Sam plays the main male character of the adaptation of this book (Me Before You)> lol
I even liked the film, the chemistry between him and Emilia is wonderful, but the film is kind of pointless. That ending, I can't even watch again. What makes it even worse is knowing that there is a second book in which he has a daughter, like??????? How does he have a daughter??? Does not make any sense. I thought he was going to give up because he was in love with a woman who loved him and believed they could be happy together. And they were happy together. What makes it worse for me is that in the film Untouchable, which is a true story, there is a similar story, about the person who helps him, and gives him meaning, in the end the character gets married and is happy. Will ends up being selfish in the end. I hate how he wants Clarke there, and the fact that she's gone. Fuck it, no really. The end is he gave her money, fuck. It wasn't about the money, and it shouldn't be. She has a shitty family and a shitty boyfriend, just like he had a shitty family and a shitty girlfriend. It's worth it for Sam and Emilia's performances.
I've never actually watched the film, only read the book. For completion's sake, I suppose I will have to tackle it one day, but every time I imagine having to watch it, a sense of dread creeps on me. It's the worst piece of fiction I have ever engaged with (I've read the first 50 Shades book and this is worse!) and I'm worried I will throw something at my screen and break my TV. I don't believe in the "chemistry" argument, it means nothing to me and Emilia Clarke... I'm trying very hard but her voice and laugh grate on me so much, plus I don't see her as that great an actress.
Anyway, so here we are, I finally get to talk about it (can you believe this @jesstasticvoyage). Here it is, the reason why I don't interact with any other Sam Claflin fans, apart from Jess who is able to handle me. (I get notes from the same users on my original Sam posts, and I see you; it's not you, it's me! You'll see why.) Fucking Me Before You.
If you go through my Sam posts, you will see that I never mention this film, not even when I talk about his book adaptations. The only time I did name it was when I listed the female directors he worked with, bc the film has a female director. When I became a fully fledged Sam fan in 2020, I saw how beloved the film was and how everyone cried over it (why?) and how I could not escape it every time I read any article or interview, and I understood that I will have to be on my own. I couldn't believe how amazing Sam's filmography was, and yet nobody talked about it, it was all Finnick (who is at least cool, despite all my issues with THG that I've just posted about)--and this garbage.
Let me just make something clear, I don't hate MBY bc of its ending. I actually like the ending. I like that he chose death over being with Louisa, bc it contradicts this supposed great love story the author is trying to sell. Also I absolutely loathe Louisa Clark. She is my most hated character of all time and the worst protagonist I've ever read the POV of. She is stupid, the stupidest cow in the whole fucking galaxy. She even fails at being a manic pixie dream girl. I hate her so, so much. Every time I have the misfortune of coming across that scene where she sits on his lap in the wheelchair and they are on the dancefloor and she is laughing, I want to hit her in the face so hard that she fall backwards, cracks her skull and dies. I hate her.
The book is also very poorly written. I see Colleen Hoover get so much hate these days, but idk, I think Jojo Moyes is way worse. Maybe she's not on that many people's radar, to which I say: good! She's also allegedly plagiarised another author. The only reason I don't want to invent a time machine to go back in time and prevent her birth is my fear of creating the timeline where Sam will not break his second ankle and becomes a footballer instead of an actor, so you see that wouldn't have been any good.
Now, I've read pieces from people who are more knowledgeable about this than me that MBY is ableist, and I could make big posts about how ableist it is, but I don't bc it would only come off as insincere. (I didn't realise it was in fact ableist until I read those pieces.) I'm all about authenticity, I don't do virtue signalling/performative wokery. You can say I hate it for the wrong reasons. I hate the book bc it's such a fucking cheap tearjerker that only got published bc the publishers knew it would make people cry. But also I hate the fact that it uses disability as a device to tell a cheap tearjerker, so maybe in a roundabout way it is ableism that I hate it for. (I will post something about the ableism though, just for info.)
The protagonist is an idiot with no skills, woefully unqualified for the job she is hired for (she fails at every other previous job she tries!). All the characters are terribly shallow and one-dimensional. Will's mother is a bitch bc... reasons? Bc the author wants her to be? Overdone tropes of an inattentive bf and a bitch of an ex-gf. You see I don't think Alicia was shitty, it's that Louisa presents her that way and she is not a reliable narrator. Ofc she describes her as a bitch. Alicia explained to Louisa that she tried with Will after his accident, but he pushed her away (even though Alicia doesn't owe Louisa any explanation, and a cow like Louisa has no right to judge her, or anyone else for that matter).
From Tv Tropes MBY YMMV page:
Unintentionally Sympathetic: Will's ex and his friend. We're clearly supposed to hate them for hooking up, but it's not like she ditched him the minute he got hurt. She points out that he relentlessly pushed her away and rebuffed all her efforts to be there for him. Her moving on was inevitable and you can't really fault them for eventually turning to each other—obviously, their efforts to comfort each other turned into something more—she outright says that they've been friends for ages and that he was a great support to her after the accident.
Jojo is presenting MBY as this big love story. Except it isn't. Louisa has a Florence Nightingale complex, and Will. Doesn't love Louisa. "You're the only thing that makes me get up in the morning." Sure, that's why he kills himself. For which I don't blame him, if the other option is being with Louisa. But that means it's not love!
But you're right that it's pointless, bc it achieves nothing. If he decided to live and then died of natural causes, then yeah, that would have been a different matter, that would have meant that the protagonist succeeded at something.
Screenshot of a funny one-star review on Goodreads:
I do wonder if Jojo has a handfeeding fetish. I shudder when I think about watching Sam being hand-fed by Emilia Clarke. I really don't think I can take on this film.
Louisa inheriting money from Will, idk, I have no opinion of it and Louisa is not even the type of a woman that knows how to enjoy money. What's she gonna do with it, buy a million pairs of stripey tights?
As for the sequel, it looks like it's a trilogy and Will's kid is I think one of those most boring tropes where a guy didn't know he had a child for years bc the mother didn't tell him. Jojo once again showing her lack or ideas. Gilmore Girls did it, Peaky Blinders did it and worst of all, even fucking Star Trek Picard did it, and those are just shows that I've watched lately!
I have heard of the Untouchable film (I found it when I was looking up Omar Sy bc I liked him in Lupin). I planned to watch it but then forgot. I really need to check it out, it looks good.
This got long... thanks for reading.

The One I Love (every Friday!)
Summer 1914
Belgium has been invaded by the Germans, their army hoping to make gains across Europe in what will soon become World War I. A small portion of Flanders is still living in relative peace though the Front is getting nearer. It’s where we find our protagonists. On a farm where love will try to prevail.
*********************************************************************
This fiction is very freely inspired by the upcoming film The Last Front, starring Iain Glen. To be more specific, it was inspired by a behind-the-scenes news coverage capturing one specific scene: Glen's character embracing a young woman (as pictured in the poster art which opens chapter 1). This is to say that I wrote my fiction before the release of the film and knowing very little about its story.
What I do know though is that Glen's farmer and the young woman in his arms do not play lovers in the movie. My mind, on the other hand, led me to imagine *something else* because: HEY! 😍❤️🔥🧔
More seriously, the reason might be because, in recent years, Glen has often been cast with younger female co-stars and has developed amazing on-screen chemistry with them, including in his role of Ser Jorah Mormont with Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen in Games of Thrones.
Therefore, to say that my characterization of the love developing between my 'older man and younger woman' trope owes nothing to Jorleesi would be a lie ;-) This said, I did try to write Leonard with what Glen projected of him from the stills and excerpts I saw. He might also share a few traits with Glen's John Manly from Black Beauty, Magnus MacMillan in The Rig and his John Proctor in The Crucible.
As to the others: Mathilde, in the film, is called Louise. I changed her name to give me free rein and not upset future fans of the film... Adrien exists in the film but I know nothing of his arc and invented his backstory from scratch. The rest are completely original to me.
Finally, I'm dedicating this story to my script-ed extraordinaire, Terisrog. Not only because she's always her fabulous self but also because I might never have branched out in less canon-based writing had it not been for her encouragements and her belief in me. Merci mon amie ! Vraiment !!
Rated M.

if you don't have any thoughts feel free to to ignore this but I've always been obsessed with Troy's face after madison hits him with the hammer the first time and he falls to his knees and I was wondering if you also had anything to say about it?
bc I'm like, it feels like he's just accepting what's happening and that makes me feel so sad but also maybe he's not feeling much of anything bc he's just been bashed in the head and is in shock or maybe he feels kinda betrayed that madison did that too him. idk idk I'm just obsessed with his expression in that moment
Hi, nonny,
and of course im not just gonna ignore your question (and what an interesting question it is)! Especially since I am honored that you're asking my opinion <3 Also, there's two things you need to know about me - 1) i love to discuss all things Troy and 2) in case I haven't yet thought thoroughly about a specific scene (which, at this point seems almost impossible - I have been obsessed with analyzing every little twitch of Mister Otto for over 2 years now) getting asked a question will make me do that. That's just how my brain is wired. (and incidentally, I honestly haven't thought about this scene a lot because well… I was working hard to ignore that this is canon hahahaahah so yeah)
Ok so without looking at that scene again, the way i recall it, i think he was surprised/dibelieving. Maybe there was betrayal there but… somehow i don't quite remember that. What I do remember though is that through that whole bit (starting from "Now look at us. One big blended family" up until she hit him) i was very much reminded of what Emilia Clarke, the actress of Daenerys from Game of Thrones said about her dying scene, namely that she played Daenerys almost childlike there (i may be misremembering her actual words. it was showing Daenerys' innocence and sweetness though in a way) and that's what Troy also read to me in this scene. Just very earnest and almost sweet (for, like, Troy you know) - yes even with him going "I'd do it all again". Even that part was.. naive. That's what he was, the poor guy.
Anyway, let's look at the scene. First in its entirety haha.
And now that I'm watching this I can't believe I haven't been obsessing over it, the way he looks does have something very very precious about it. Like maybe the wide-eyed expression (maybe the fact he's on his knees) maybe the way he almost looks at her like she's his savior (sadly she isn't)… top-notch expression, thank you for making me spend time with it!
Ok next let's split it up.
I think in the first half of him looking at her all the things I've said above are encompassed. He does look surprised and also disbelieving, almost begging, if you ask me. But thennn the second half happens
and.. I'm not quite sure what this expression is but you know, it could very well be him accepting his fate (especially that mouth movement there). Him accepting, ok he went too far in this, ok, apparently she doesn't like hearing this, ok apparently this is how he dies (yes i'm ignoring Troy coming back, just, let me have this).
I also do believe that Troy knew it was a dangerous thing to confess ("i'd do it all again, and you would, too, you know you would...") and that he did want absolution for it. He really hoped this time the people he chose as his family would be ok with him, the entirety of him. But apparently not. So maybe that last part is… defeat. Finally defeat because there's no way for him to keep fighting. He's dying. And maybe he's also relieved that he is. Just a little bit. Maybe it's not too bad that Madison did it. he died for her - probably differently than he'd have liked but still. He did. And that's a bit of alright.
(ok I went off on a tangent there haha, I can't stop myself from rambling if I tried. and to be honest, I didn't try)
I hope this is a satisfying answer to your question ^^ It was a lot of fun to think about it, so thank you very very much for it and have a great day💖
#troy otto#ftwd#ask#whoever wants to is invited to jump in with their take too#would love to hear from others

I never cared before about Alys when I've read F&B but the way some of those shippers hate her so much , in Twitter i see alot of them call her ugly hag , gro**mer and so many misgonystic/ ageism names and even hope for her to get cut from the show.. What for ? She is very important to the narrative and especially to Aemond's arc...
Yeah, shippers of other things and antis have been getting weirrrrrrrrrd about Alys. And that's not just a thing specific to her, I've seen some people on my side say weird shit about Helaena (which is fucked up she's the number one girlie y'all are fake fucking Green fans if you're gonna shit on Helaena for no reason), and I'm really not looking forward to anything the Daemon/Rhaenyra shippers are going to have to say once Nettles shows up. Chillest shippers I've seen in this fandom thus far are the Rhaenicents, God bless. And it'd be one thing on its own if I could trust that this was just confined to dislike of a character, but considering the track record people have when it comes to ASOIAF related media (the people who made fun of Emilia Clarke's appearance and her brain injuries and bullied Emily Carey off of social media are never going to see Heaven), I do not trust these people not be utterly vitriolic to whichever actress they ultimately cast as Alys.
People can have their criticisms of the ship, they can point out what they want about the age difference (even though it's not grooming because words have meanings Jesus Christ, not to mention Aemond has significantly more power in the relationship than Alys does) or just not enjoy it, that's all fair and valid. But it's really weird to demand that Alys be cut entirely when she's a unique part of her story and offers a unique perspective that no other character can offer, as well as her place in the stories and arcs not just for Aemond but for Daemon and Larys and honestly even Criston cuz he was at Harrenhal too. Alys can't be replaced with another character, no one occupies the part of the story she's a part of in the way that she does, that's why she as a character exists. Nor is it necessarily "out of character" for Aemond to fall for her or prioritize her once he does, and it's not him "abandoning his family for some chick" as I've seen some people actually say. For one, sorry that Aemond's recorded actions as written down in one book aren't fitting into what you want to happen, but that's on you, not the writing. If, over the course of a single story, a character's canon actions and canon thoughts and canon feelings and canon words feel "out of character" to you, then you simply do not have an accurate read on that character, I'm sorry. For two, it's not even him abandoning his family or being out of character. Nothing about their relationship is out of bounds for the kind of person that Aemond is, and as I mentioned in a prior ask, Aemond is not in a position to help his family. Even beyond the fact that Aemond considers Daemon their biggest threat at the moment and his primary goal was to get rid of him before thinking of any way to depose Rhaenyra, his family's either dead or prisoners to a hostile faction, and any attempt to try and free the ones he knows are alive just aren't feasible at that time (if you think Aemond's going to gamble the lives of his mother and his sister on the off chance that an assault on Rhaenyra might succeed, then you're stupid, no two ways about it). With that backdrop, it makes perfect sense that Aemond is at least going to fight tooth and nail for the one person he does have and does love, that he can save, because he can't do anything for Alicent or Helaena or Aegon who at this point might even be dead, but he can do something to keep Alys safe and well by his side. And even if you want to be incredibly cynical about it, then at this point in time Alys could potentially be carrying a future claimant for the Greens. No one knows where Aegon is, Jaehaera is ineligible for the throne under Westerosi customs and laws, Jaehaerys and Maelor are both dead, and Aemond and Daeron are both actively participating in deadly combat that could (and does) kill them. For pragmatism alone, Aemond wanting to ensure that, if Alys is carrying a son, that this son survives to continue pressing the claims set forth by their side, or Hell even just to make it so Rhaenyra doesn't win, makes sense.
Even if you want to ignore the importance Alys brings to the narrative, what she furthers in Aemond's arc, what his love for her can reveal to us about the kind of character that he is, that still doesn't make anything about the romance or the actions it spurs "out of character" or an indictment on Aemond, nor does it justify being weird and vile about a fictional character or people who enjoy her relationship with another fictional character. Ya fucking freaks.
#personal#answered#anonymous#wow i did not expect this answer to get as long as it did#but as we know i'm quite passionate about these two and also alys specifically#listen i don't care for hel****** at all in any whatsoever#i think it's real dumb and i think theories that try to cut alys and replace her with the character in question#are bonkers and stupid and generally created by people who don't understand anything about anything#but i'm not gonna be a bitch about it because none of it is real#and it's fucking shipping! just ship and let ship what's the matter with some of y'all

Story on DeviantArt: https://www.deviantart.com/d-field22/art/Batman-OC-villain-1-Bengal-digital-865401975
Bio: Real name: Sarah Rachael Sollivan Occupation: Scientist(formerly) Professional Criminal Base of Operation: Gotham City Eyes: Brown(formerly) Blue Hair: Black(formerly) White Height: 5ft 8in Weight: 140lbs
Attributes: Heightened senses Flexibility Skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Mostly sticks to using her claws. Suffers from Chronic anger and Volatile anger Skilled in Biochemistry Suffers from a severe Delusional disorder Driven desire to covet her cubs and keep them away from human customs
Dream voice actress: Emilia Clarke. I don't know why. But for some reason, I can see Daenerys voicing Bengal. I can just picture her being the voice of one so demented as Bengal being voiced by someone who is "probably" already insane, though it has yet to be determined. In the books anyways, and before…well we don't speak about that train wreck here. THAT certain event(which shall remain nameless) honestly was only one of many things wrong with that dumpster fire of a show and marks many horrible things about storytelling and basic writing. Those two untalented dunderheads should be flipping burgers or operating a dump truck instead of writing. Just wow! What the hell were they thinking?!?! Martin, that rumor about the show and books better be false because there is gonna be hell to pay old man!! But I digress, I also picture her being beside Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy(originally) voicing their respected characters. And maybe that deep within someone good and kind like Daenerys, there is an inner mad queen. And maybe that mad queen is Bengal. And in case you're wondering, she would be using her Sarah Conner voice for Bengal. She pulls an American accent fairly well.
Featured songs: Roar by Twenty One Two (originally by Katy Perry), Monster by Imagine Dragons, and Animals by Maroon 5. For Roar's case, I was originally going to use Animal I have Become but Killer Croc already took that one and made it a rule NOT to use the same song twice. The lyrics seem to fit Bengal's case well especially with the chorus. I chose this particular cover because I just liked that one better than the original. If I find other songs that fit her, then they will be added later. Monster, I feel fits Bengal especially with her time after her transformation, the animal or monster in her is only taking more control of her sanity. Animals, well you can figure that one out pretty easily.
Notes:
Her origin in a sense is similar to Man-Bat's origin.
Since the original looked a bit too human, and finding references from many talented artists who have drawn anthropoid tigers and do fine work I may add, I once again decided to use some of those elements in the new design for Bengal, I even gave her lips, well sort of. Since the outer black of a white tiger's mouth is that shade of black I decided to use that for lips essentially. So once more I say thanks for all who inspired me to make Bengal more animal.
Leo is another OC that will be done and thanks to my good friend YugiohPonyAvengers, we have developed him and many other of my rogues. Be sure to check out their bios in her page.
Her cubs have yet to be decided on what type of Tiger/Lion hybrids they will be. I know it matters on the animal's sex and all. But hey this is comics.

i got too obsessed with big brother bc i can only hold one obsession in my mind at a time but one of the house guests (name is matt) was talking about how much he likes game of thrones & house of the dragon and he’s definitely a show only local BUT he actually knows dany’s name (as in, didnt just call her khaleesi like a lot of show only real life fans do) and had opinions on pacing & production which makes me feel like he’s less of a “i am team x” watcher and more of a “oh i love watching people in fun clothes murder each other” watcher and tbh i find those people much more tolerable lmao. it was cute watching him ramble about it on the feeds for like ten minutes straight while everyone else was like “oh isn’t emilia clarke in that? she’s so good in romcoms” and the light died in his eyes a bit lollll. this is him:
#he says weird things to women sometimes so i’m sure he has bad opinions on sansa but i still found it endearing#also i like the second group more bc that’s what my grandpa is aksjdj. some people just like watching war & politics & fun clothes.#he mentioned vikings & the last kingdom and i was like ‘oh my grandpa would love you’ akskjs. gonna @ him on insta and tell him to watch#marco polo & read dunk & egg akskskskdkd#getting on my soap box#he’s not my winner pick but i think he’s amusing#also the braids aren’t a culture vulture thing he’s in an alliance with two older black women & they did his hair. he’s#been feeling himself ever since akskdk. just rambling about how he likes the fast pace of hotd better while they moisturize his curls.#gonna see about finishing a chapter today while feeds are down tho akskskskdjd

Someone is missing! CHRISTOPHER WINTERS (tom hiddleston) is looking for their YOUNGER SISTERS (4/4). Please, if you see them, you can contact @lxvenderhxzehv. We’re all extremely worried.
Name: [UTP] (I would like then to have all ‘C’ names if possible! but I’m okay with whatever Works! They can still have the last name Winters or can have Different Last names due to being Married!)
Age: [40-28]
Town/Commune: [UTP]
Resident/Visitor: [Visitor]
Faceclaim Suggestions: Vanessa Kirby, Rachel McAdams, Emilia Clarke, Saoirse Ronan, & Tabrett Bethell or [UTP]
Further Information (required):
Older Sister: Chris is probably the closest with his oldest sister. They were both the closest in age and had to raise the other three and Help their mother around the house. She’s a lot more level headed than Chris. And tended to keep Chris grounded when he was going through things.
Middle Sisters: Chris is more of a father figure for the two middle sister and isn’t as close to them as he is his older and younger sister.
Little sister: Chris is also more of a father figure to her but he’s a bit more protective of her being that she is the youngest and a half sibling. He Knows and his older sister knows but the two middle siblings don’t. It one of the reasons their dad went after the youngest while Chris was away. He had found out that The youngest wasn’t his kid. She looks like she fits in with the rest of the Winters’ kids (Thanks to the kids looking more like their mother). Chris still treats her like a full sibling regardless and loves her with his whole heart.
