A Pretty Cool AU Concept I Have In Mind:

The Dark Flour War never happened, and the Ancients spend a hundred more years letting their kingdoms flourish and keeping Earthbread as prosperous as ever. Thanks to their efforts, they decide to establish some kind of alliance/union dedicated to improving an area of cookiekind they most excel in (e.g. Dark Cacao in combat and White Lily in knowledge) and are given the opportunity to visit each other and enlighten on whatever problems they have. You know, the typical ancient shenanigans but on a much grander scale!

Hoooowever, this doesn't entirely mean their world is free of conflict. On the other hand, the St. Pastry Order and dark magic practitioners (that cake monsters happen to be apart of) manage to set aside their differences and join together to form a bigger, more dangerous underground organization with the intention of changing cookiekind in a similar vain to Dark Enchantress's motives and the Order's original belief to "walk with the truth in mind", whatever that means. Their conflict with the Ancients will hold much more nuance since their beliefs clash with one another, not to mention the Order being too good of a group to just be... ignored by the canon for some reason... (devsisters if I catch your hands--)

Oh and of course, the Beasts will find a way to meddle with these antics and play a much bigger part in the story than we realize.

There's also gonna be lore elements from Witch's Castle too! The story of the Witch of Light and the "First" cookies are just too intriguing and I don't really see them being integrated in fan stories (from what I've seen, at least) so why not sprinkle them here as well?

The Sheriff

A/N: this is for @yourtropegirl historical au challenge. I know there’s not a lot of dialogue, there will be more in the next part. This was just getting waaaaay too long.

It usually doesn’t get so cold. It gets cold, obviously, you live in northern Nevada so winters do exist. You’ve just never seen so much snow.

It feels like it’s been coming down for days. Sometimes as little flurries, other times as big flakes. You’re thankful for your friendship with the Native population and their willingness to trade with a woman. The thick blankets, lined with fur, were a godsend. The wooden frame with the deer hide cover that they’d taught you to build inside the cave to keep weather and animals out was proving a success. It wasn’t warm by any means but you were dry, safe and with your mutt by your side. It wasn’t ideal but you were able to survive, rarely needed anything you couldn’t trade for or make and most importantly no one has ever found you.

It’s been getting darker earlier and since the snow has been falling even mid-day has seemed like dusk.

You’re just starting to cook some dinner over the small fire you’ve got in your cave when you hear a noise. A high pitched noise, you can’t place it until you hear it again.

A whinny.

Who the hell, was going to be out in this weather? You hear it again and decide that you can’t just let someone be lost out in the cold. Wrapping yourself into your warmest clothing you’ve got, you hurry to the entrance of the cave and peer out into the twilight. Sure enough, there’s a large dark shape of a horse. You don’t see a rider, so after checking both directions you scurry out of your cave and over to the horse.

“Hey. Hey buddy, it’s okay.” You soothe as you make your way to the spooked horse. The horse shies away from you as you slowly make your way toward it. “Shhh. Shhh. Where’s your rider buddy?” You coo stepping toward him when you suddenly step on something squishy.

The squishy something grunts and you scream leaping back. You’ve stepped on the horse’s rider.

“Oh god. Oh my god are you alright?” You ask brushing some of the snow away from the rider’s body, they sounded male when they grunted but it was hard to tell. Sure enough when you get the snow off of the rider you see a light brown beard.

He’s huge compared to you. At least 6 feet tall and if his broad shoulders are any indicator he’s fit too. You try to pull him up by the front of the jacket he’s wearing and quickly realize that this is never going to work.

“Alright cowboy. You’re gonna have to help me out here. I need you to stand.” You tell him, his eyes barely open and you’re honestly not sure he’s even conscious. “Come on cowboy, stand up. I can’t get you to safety without your help.” You search the horse for something, anything, to help you move the stranger back to your cave. You find a rope on the horse’s saddle and after looping the rope around his torso a few times you bring the rope to the other side of the horse and hoist him onto the horse’s back. His chest is pressed against the saddle as his arms and legs hang over each side of the horse. He doesn’t say anything, just groans and you lead his horse into your cave.

You ease him onto the floor near your bedroll, then cover him with your fur blanket. You want to warm him but you’ve got to take care of this horse too.

Grabbing the horse’s bridle you lead him further down the cave to one of the off-shoots where you’ve kept horses before. You remove the saddle, bridle, blanket and make sure he’s got some food and water before hurrying back to his rider.

He’s sitting up and staring off into the distance. His brown hair has flopped into his face but you can see one of his bright blue eyes. Sitting on his chest is a golden star that says ‘SHERIFF’.

“Uh, Sheriff what are you doin’?”

“Hot.” He growls as he starts to pull at his clothes.

“Okay, well you’ve got hypothermia, so let’s get some of your wet things off.” You peel off the coat and unbutton his shirt, which is a huge mistake, he’s so fit. You shake your head to clear it then lay his clothes out in front of the fire. “Wrap yourself in the blanket then give me your pants.”

“What?” His voice is deeper than you thought it’d be. Richer. Of course you’ve seen the Sheriff around but you’d never spoken to him, never needed to.

“You have to get all of your wet clothes off or you could get frost bite. I might have some men’s clothes-“ you trail off after his pants come out from the blanket. Again you have to shake yourself to get your mind back on track. “Alright Sheriff, get closer to the fire but watch out for my blanket. I like that one. Food should be done soon.”

“Where’s my horse?”

“Safe.”

“Kay.” You hang his pants too then move to the fire to check the food before moving back to him to make sure that his body is recovering. He’s not shivering yet which isn’t a great sign but he’s still conscious and his eyes are tracking your movement. You grab your second blanket from your bed and drape it around his shoulders.

“Lucky.” You call, cupping the Sheriff’s face in your hands his skin is cold, and a little clammy.

“What?”

“My dog. I want her to curl up with you. You need the body heat.” Moments later your dog comes trotting over. “Come ‘mere.” She does and you point to his lap, “Curl up.” Thankfully Lucky does as you ask and curls into his lap.

5: Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

I really try my best to respond to everything... but there have been a few exceptions. I no longer respond to most comments on Blue on Black, and was waaaaay too overwhelmed too fast on A Pirate's kinktober, since I posted so many chapters so close together.

6: What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

I don't think I've ever written an angst ending. I can't stand not giving my characters the happy ending they deserve!

7: Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you've written? No, I've never written one.

8: Have you received hate on a fic? Oh yeah definitely. Mostly on Blue on Black, but I also got an incredibly long essay about how unrealistic one of my fics about time traveling ninjas was lmao.

9: do you write smut? Oh yeah. I find it hard to finish a fic without it, honestly.

10: Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.

11: Ever had a fic translated? No. Several have asked but I'm a bit nervous about it.

12: Ever co-written a fic before? Technically no, though I have several wonderful artists create art for a fic I wrote.

13: All time favorite ship? For Naruto, Kakashi/Tobirama. For My Hero Academia, Bakugou/Todoroki.

14: What's a WIP that you want to finish, but probably never will? Blue on Black. Honestly considering just making a note saying unfinished and marking it complete instead of on hiatus.

15: What are your writing strengths? I think fluff is once of my best strengths honestly.

16: What are your writing weaknesses? WRITING ENDINGS. I always just have a massive brain fart and can't figure out how to close it out. If you've read several of my fics, you may have noticed a lot of my fics end with the pairing going to sleep 🤣

That's the best I can think of.

17: What are your thoughts of writing dialog in other languages? People can do whatever they want, of course, but I personally am not comfortable writing in a language I do not speak.

19: Favorite fic you've written? 🤔🤔 That's honestly a tough question. I love my pirate au fics, and several of my WIPs I haven't posted are shaping up to be pretty nice... though I have a soft spot for Spread Your Wings.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Lesson Learned - it’s a oneshot revealing Kakashi’s backstory in the Yakuza AU

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written? No, only alternate universe settings based in other fandoms

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Oh yeah! The funniest was either the one reader who threatened to report me to ff.net and wanted to throw their computer through the wall after the angst in the plot was too much for them, or the person who called me “Kakarot’s c*@$-sucking c$@!” for writing a GoBul scene into a multiship get-together story where that pairing wasn’t even endgame

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? Yes! poly threesomes have become my speciality, but I write plenty of twosomes het and slash, m/m and m/f, but most kinks aren’t really my cup of tea so you don’t really see those from me

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Sort of? Someone asked my permission to write because they were inspired by my story, but when I checked it out, they were basically trying to re-write the same story as their own. They took it down after I asked them about it

11. Have you ever had a fic translated? I had someone tell me they were translating Cold Brew to Russian, but they never followed up with a link for me and I wouldn’t know how to check ficbook for it

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I’ve dabbled in the idea but never really committed

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? wake up and smell the coffee, possibly. I would say Wrench if it wasn’t already pre-written before posting because lack of engagement is kind of killing the drive behind that story. Just Naruto in general has never been very responsive to me but those few really engaged readers help keep me there. I currently have two for wake up and smell the coffee who I don’t want to let down, so we’ll see

15. What are your writing strengths? I used to say dialogue, but lately I’ve been strengthening my description. But where I really thrive I think is plot, hence all the longfics
