So I watched purple hearts for Nicholas galitzine - and it sure was something.

And like hear me out - it was an egregious piece of American military and conservative political propaganda barely covered by a poorly written rom com

But as a politically left leaning queer woman who was raised in a politically conservative church situation, boy oh boy do I have complicated feelings about the characters in this film.

Or not so much the characters that were really two dimensional but the ideas behind the characters.

#I don’t know #I’m writing a fic about it that I might not publish #it’s mainly me working through my feelings #but yeah the main character #awful though he was #reminded me strongly of some of the men and boys from childhood #that were just trying to do the right thing and were being really badly led astray as to what the right thing once #and then they’d grow up and solidify into men who think that they are doing the right thing #as they hurt everyone around them #I just wasn’t expecting to have such complicated feelings about this trash propaganda film #nicholas galitzine #this is what I get for watching an actors entire filmography
