LITTLE DETAILS AND PLOT POINTS I FORGOT ABOUT IN SEASON 1
From like episode 65 onwards
• The Kiki and Zane baby pendent plot line is so odd like did that actually do anything that impacts the plot? Like why would Zane have a reason to do that? I know he’s evil and all but he has goal he’s trying to reach and what does Kiki having a werewolf baby have to do with that? I’m probably just forgetting more stuff that happens later in the season to be honest.
• Plus you would think that Garroth would have been more concerned about it seeing as Leona could have potentially been his niece.
• When the group gets lost after they leave Malachi’s castle Laurance suggests that Garroth could cuddle with the horses while him and aph cuddle
• He later also clears away poison ivy for a “romantic camping spot” at Lucinda’s while Aph kills crabs
• Garroth is the one that taught Levin to call Aphmau Mama (I think it would be funny if Levin sort of had a british accent because of Garroth and says some words differently like Mum)
• Garroth actively tries to start pursuing Aphmau after the castle with Malachi (presumably because Laurance spent the whole trip getting there convincing Garroth to tell Aphmau his feelings)
• While they’re traveling Laurance seems to constantly trying to force Garroth to confess his feelings to Aphmau and straight up tells Aph that Garroth has feelings for her at nether portal at the werewolf village
• Garroth tries to confess his feelings at camp at Lucinda’s house but Laurance is listening in and only interrupts when Garroth changes the topic to Brightport
• Laurance comes up with the idea of the phoenix alliance
• For some reason Laurance knows everything and is always explaining stuff to Aphmau like he’s the human equivalent of an lore info dump like he’s the one that forces Garroth to talk about his father (Laurance is the world building of this universe)
• Neither Aphmau or Laurance ever sleep
• Dante stays up a lot too and in the beginning he likes to be alone
• Laurance is always eavesdropping on everyone’s conversations literally he is the nosiest.
• Laurance is also way too chill about knowing Gene and for some reason just never says anything to Dante??
• Also I skipped some episodes because season one is slow and I haven’t finished rewatching season 1 but Dante is really chill about Laurance being a shadow knight despite having his entire life being torn apart by his shadow knight brother
• Laurance tells the shadow knight lady and innkeeper in Pikoro to never stop loving her probably because it helps keep her human and wishes Aphmau would do the same for him.
• Laurance is more of a realist than Garroth is both are good at reading situations but Laurance tends to less optimistic than Garroth is (probably from his experiences in the nether.)
• Laurance is also just very good at reading people and understanding their weaknesses
• Laurance realizes that love is able fight against the shadow knight’s magic and that furthers it as a theme in the story
• Garroth despite having a rivalry with Laurance confides in him often and this gives Laurance an intimate look into Garroth’s thoughts
• Laurance pretends to lean in but there’s actually a ladybug on Aph’s shoulder before just telling her about the Magicks and Witchcraft war
• Garroth goes out of his way to try and to spend time with Aphmau like trying to walk her home.
• Dante asks for a combat doll from Nana and thinks he’s met her somewhere before (I don’t remember if this comes back later in the series) and I feel like it hints at a future romance pretty well as first interaction.
• Garroth catches Aphmau when she falls from the tree and Aphmau is pretty calm about the whole situation despite that being a terrifying thing to happen (plus I feel like Garroth should have been more scared and thankful he caught her time like he nearly lost the woman he’s in love with.)
• Then they play with both Levin and Malachi in the tree house like a little family
• Laurance gives Levin and Malachi a book that Zoey reads to them (in my rewrite it would be the legend/fairy tale of aphmau’s name)
• Lucinda and Nana used to have rival cat cafes! Then they have duel!
• Laurance wears gold armor for couple episodes before getting the armor upgrade
• Garroth removes his helm when Aphmau asks him to immediately where before he refused. He trusts Aphmau and presumably Laurance and Dante completely.
• Garroth designed armor when he was younger probably at guard school that somehow Katelyn got a hold of and turned into armor for the guards along coordinating colors that match their personalities
• Garroth, Dante, and Laurance are all on the jury of 9 waitlist
I’m rewatching season one and it’s so much information to sift through. Also there are millions of other things that I probably forgot. Don’t get me wrong, I love it but after season one Jess went a different direction with the storytelling and that was a great decision.

I genuinely love Irene, from the little we know about her it paints such an interesting story.
Irene knows no love, and I love that about her.
Love has so far damned her, she was in love with Shad and in turn Shad was in love with her. Despite that, there was no peace for they always fought, Shad being the antithesis to Irene. She tried everything, but nothing worked to stop destruction. Then you had Kul’zak and Esmund who were also in love with, but presumably she didn’t love them back. That probably destroyed her from the inside out. Irene doesn’t love because love is the reason why everything went wrong. Irene most likely genuinely wants to help everyone, that’s what she set out to do in the beginning. Though the care that she displayed is exact reason of her down fall.
The same exact thing is happening with Aphmau in MCD. Aphmau may or may not be in love with Garroth and/or Laurance in the beginning. That isn’t important, what is that this loved caused most of later events of season one to happen. Laurance likely wouldn’t have become a shadow knight ( probably debatable.) Garroth most likely wouldn’t have given into Zane. There is also an argument to be made that he might’ve not stayed behind, but I think he would’ve since he is “the Protector.” Then in season two love costed Aaron’s life, leaving Aphmau alone with their child. Love is costing Aphmau people, and it’s a really just a ticking time bomb until she breaks.
Her conversation with Alexis about love is really telling (I don’t remember the episode, but it’s season two near the beginning.) Its about people loving them, but not knowing what to do. Alexis expresses her feelings and how she fell out of liking Malachi and Levin romantically. Though a reason for this is it becoming too much. This parallels Garroth and Laurance, Aphmau expressing a similar sentiment. Aphmau is overwhelmed with love and it shows. She doesn’t know what to do with it, and lets it run it’s course ( feel free to disagree with me on this, I might’ve missed a lot.)
If season three was finished I like to be believe that it would end with Aphmau losing her ability to love just like Irene did. After killing or possibly reincarnating Shad she would lock herself back in the Irene dimension. Explains why she disappeared after awhile as her daughter Aline explained.
All this to say is that I believe that Irene has put herself in a constant loop of falling in and out of love. Then eventually losing all of her emotions in the process. Irene’s origins are already murky to begin with, and I’d like to believe that she had a past before Irene. Perhaps she even had more, which all ended the same way. Everyone around her loving her, but this love causing destruction. It’s a constant cycle as Irene tries to find a time where she can love and it won’t cause destruction. It’s tragic and that’s why I love it, Irene as much as she cannot feel, she desires to.
That’s my silly little interpretation of Irene :) I probably missed a lot of things since it’s been like 3 years since I’ve watched the series, but binge watching will be great. Oh and I also might be wrong on a lot of this. Also second disclaimer I did not watch MyStreet in full.

For Drop of Sunlight, what's your take on the relationship between the Divine Warriors and Aphmau/her guards (Garroth, Katelyn, Laurance, Dante)
That’s a bit of a tricky one for me. I don’t remember a whole lot about the Divine Warriors from canon since I haven’t finished my rewatch, and I haven’t explored them that much because we’re still real early on and they haven’t become majorly relevant yet, but I think I can scrounge up a few ideas. We’re gonna talk about the Divine Warriors as a whole and not each individual for now.
The Divine Warriors were all friends, but Irene was what connected them. They were all drawn to her, all loyal to her above anyone else, they were . . . the term I want to use for the Divine Warriors is ‘a cult polycule,’ but that doesn’t really explain and also is probably wrong. Let’s rewind a bit.
Irene killed the Divine Warriors as a whole. Before they ever met her, Irene had lived for so, so long as this being more powerful than the rest of her race and everyone put her on a pedestal. Her power left her so isolated, so completely alone, that everything she did had to be perfect because she didn’t have anyone to fall back on when she failed anymore, not since she’d outlived her sister. Everything Irene did became just another duty she had to perform and she stopped feeling alive. Until Shad.
Shad was the first person she’d ever met that was anywhere near as powerful as her. Suddenly she wasn’t so alone anymore, and she clung to Shad for fear that if she let him slip away she’d be alone again for who knows how long. She nudged their relationship from enemies to friends to, eventually, lovers. Shad loved her because she seemed so good and she wasn’t afraid of him and with her he could have what he always wanted: someone to love and a family. I’m a little iffy on whether or not Irene was actually in love with him, but in those times being someone’s lover was seen as the absolute closest you could be to someone and you couldn’t really get a marriage annulled. Once they were together-together Irene thought she could never lose Shad.
For a while, it was Irene and Shad against the world. The rest of the Divine Warriors came after. They were all good people who had some kind of power, a power that Irene could help them foster into something they could use for the greater good. They became friends by virtue of spending a ton of time together and working to become a team because they realized their different dynamics and abilities actually meshed well, but above that they were always Irene’s most devout followers right up until they were shown by Irene herself that she wasn’t as good as everyone thought. I mean, if God-God were your personal friend, wouldn’t you be a believer too?
Everything fell apart after the relics were made. After they return home for the first time in ages, Shad goes looking for their daughter, so excited to see her sweet smile, only to not be able to find her anywhere. And when he goes to ask Irene for help looking for their baby girl, he’s told that she’s been in his relic the entire time, that it was her soul that had been used to form Shad’s weapon. Shad is obviously heartbroken, demanding to know why she would do such a thing, but Irene can’t understand that what she did was wrong. She can’t even fathom it. In her eyes, having their daughter was nowhere near as important as having Shad, because he’s the only equal she’s ever known and nobody else even compares. She’s struck dumb and feels incredibly betrayed when Shad turns against her because she’s been under the impression that, since they’re the same, he felt exactly the way she did. If she can’t have him, though, then at least she still has the rest of the Divine Warriors; they love her, they worship her, they’d never betray her like this.
Except Shad was one of their own. They hesitate for just a second when she says Shad’s turned against them and is an enemy, but it’s Irene so she can’t be wrong, right? But as the days stretch on they start to realize that Shad only wants to hurt Irene and he’s got a damn good reason for it. By the time they recognize that Irene is bad guy here, it’s too late. Instead, the Divine Warriors shatter Shad’s relic so it can’t be given to anyone else, so it can’t help turn this into a cycle and scatter the fragments, then disappear to build their temples. By the time they reconnect, ready to hear Irene out, Irene’s disappeared.
The stuff with the guards is way more specific.
When Anastasia (Aphmau) first appears, Garroth doesn’t pay her much mind. He’s got enough to worry about and she’s not hurting anyone, just kind of dipping in and out of town every once in a while. Then he realizes that she’s been fixing up the village and helping people out. She’s a very kind woman in a time when most people can’t afford to be kind, and fairly protective of Phoenix Drop despite not really living there or being close to its citizens. But she’s also fairly reckless with her own life and, despite knowing just about every trade there is, doesn’t actually know much about the world she lives in. Garroth is her protector first, then they become something maybe like friends, and he only develops feelings for her after she’s already started settling into her position as Lord. He shoves these feelings real deep down though and never makes a solid effort to act on them, it’d be improper considering their positions and cloud his judgement more than it already has. It’s enough that he can be her friend, that he can see that she’s happy, that he can be close to her and help her through whatever she needs him for. He probably gives her lessons about Lord stuff.
I’m debating where I should put Laurance and Anastasia’s first meeting, because I really like the idea of what they had going in Rebirth where Laurance first saw her when she was at her most frantic, but in the OG meeting he first sees her as someone who’ll go out of their way to fix their mistakes. Either way, it’s love at first sight for this sucker because he’s the kind of person who falls in love at the drop of a hat and who loves nearly everybody he comes across. He flirts because that’s the way he learned to talk to people who make him nervous and he’s only serious about it until he gets rejected, after which it’s just fun between friends. They’re amazing friends, partially because they’re on the same wavelength about a lot of things, partially because of trauma bonding. As time goes on, he gradually becomes more protective of and devoted to Anastasia as a Lord and he’s very serious about her personal safety. Laurance is always the one Garroth sends to negotiate with Anastasia about protective measures when she leaves the village since he always manages to convince her to take at least one of them along.
Dante’s conflicted about how he feels about Anastasia because he thinks of her like a sister. He has so many emotions about this, including feeling just a little bit guilty about it. He sees her as kind-hearted, adventurous, and always good for cheering someone up. It’s easy to joke around with her and playfight during training sessions. He trusts her implicitly, feels like he can confide in her about anything. He’s wary about feeling like this after what happened with his real sibling, especially towards his Lord of all people, but those worries mellow out after he gets to know Anastasia better.
Anastasia was already well-established as a Lord when Katelyn came into play, and they met in that time when Phoenix Drop couldn’t afford any political missteps so her first impression was that Anastasia was a regal leader who inspired a daunting level of loyalty in her guards and citizens and knew her way around doublespeak. She only realizes how prone she is to accidentally giving her guards heart attacks after she’s been turned to their side, and finds the startling difference between the real Anastasia and the Lordsona she presents to other villages hilarious. They’re also eventually good friends, she’s probably the first real friend Katelyn’s had in a long time, and Katelyn finds her easier to get along with than most of the other ladies at first because she’s gotten so used to interacting only with people in positions of power or the guards under their command since she was picked for the Jo9. They really bond during quiet moments travelling together. Having to trust your back to someone while you sleep in potentially hostile territory will do that for you.
I think a big difference between the relationships between Irene and the Divine Warriors and Anastasia with her guards is that Irene doesn’t feel anything, while Anastasia sometimes feels too much and that greatly affects the way they connect with people.
Another is that, nine times out of ten, Anastasia's guards would sacrifice their lives for her at the first hint of real danger. No one of the Divine Warriors would ever think to truly sacrifice themselves for Irene. What could possibly kill a goddess?

I am this close to learning how to animate just to do mid s2.
I mean a part of me thinks that after Aphmau finishes mystreet s7 she could do mid s2 but another part of me thinks she wouldn't since mid had more adult content and her audience is mostly young children these days . Even tho it had so much potential .Only if it was more focused on the story rather than the romance (I'm not saying the romance wouldn't be there) since I think after the boys wanted to marry her then kinda forgot about the crisis (I think I need to rewatch it) expect Rhys reminding them from time to time.
I actually don't think they were even trying (I mean expect in the ep where they gave her stuff and where Rhys won her a plushie . The only other time is when they listened to what Lorelai said at the cinema but that kinda failed i don't really remember) since they don't even know what love is. For example Leif.
Since he is the only one we kinda know the backstory . He said that he was close with his 'brother' so I assume he loved him as a family considering he grew up with him before they abandon him(im assuming since he didn't tell Ava the exact truth) Which forms trust issues and he probably is thinking Ava will tho (thats why he said 'you're with me till you die' and wanted her to promise she wouldn't leave him)
What I'm trying to say is that they all probably have different perspectives of what love is. Tho I'm assuming (again) that deep down they tried to 'win her over' for this:
Asch: Bring her magic/soul to daemos to save his world and prove his father that he is worthy of being a king more than Rhal (even tho at the end of the season he doesn't seem to want to be king)
Leif: To prove that even if he grew up out of the kingdom he can become powerful and probably prove some people that said he couldn't (assuming.)
Noi:To be honest he is the only one who I think may have some feelings for Ava even tho he is acting like a creep sometimes (considering he watches her sleep) But again deep down he probably did it for power and to prove others that he is worthy.
Rhys: Power.Again.Since we have no idea what his backstory is but even if we do they all do that for power originally (and well bringing her soul and making her bring more humans to daemos)
Pierce: The guy barely talked though the show (I'm sure he had his reasons) but again apart from the fact that used to be general and that he used to server for Rhal we don't know anything about him. He seemed gentle with Ava and didn't push her to marry him in that episode where they all ask her to marry her . For him I can't exactly give a straight answer.
----------
To be honest if these was a mid s2 it could end multiple ways . Tho that's another topic. (If I start yapping about that one it's gonna be wayyy to long)
----------
☆ Anyway thank you for reading my yapping session ☆ (this was written at 1am so I excuse myself for any mistakes and I didn't fully explained myself so I'll probably have to fix that)
Edit:idk what was I on at 1 am but most of what I wrote are like 3 topics in 1 so ig considering it 3 in 1?(i am gonna rewrite that later. Maybe.)

04 and 08 for the ask game?
04. what are your favorite episodes/scene?
I've answered this one already here, but why not list another ep i like? I still go back to S1 Ep 68 pretty often!! It's one of the last episodes we're given where Garroth is written well imo, but he REALLY shines in this episode. I really love how Laurance and Garroth's dynamic is handled, + we get our first hints of Shadowknight-hood affecting Laurance more, AND we even get quite a bit of Garte stuff/overall politics things that I find very interesting!
This is honestly the golden era of S1 to me, and some of my favorite bits of how they handled storytelling like, mechanically. (Having the NPCs unpromptedly just start going off at eachother was very cool. Very rarely did NPCs have conversations with eachother that weren't facilitated by Aphmau before that point.) ITS A GOOD EPISODE! The back half is a little boring, it was definitely like that because Jess spent all her energy making the front half cool, but the front half WAS very cool, so I can excuse it.
08. alternatively, what's a dynamic you really want to see in canon?
THIS IS AN EVIL EVIL QUESTION BECAUSE THERE ARE SOOOOO MANY. lets just get Vylad and Literally Everyone down just to start. this is a joke but also not.
Vylad and Emmalyn (their intense irene discussions. Vylad obviously has some sort of academic knowledge of irene judging by the fact that he knows about Irene's Dimension on his own, and brings it up as a thing Zane would do BEFORE Aphmau can explain it. I think it would be cool for Emmalyn to have scholalry discussions around Irene with someone who also has that knowledge)
Vylad and Dante (Oopse Gene Sucks Hope We Dont Bond Over This. It makes sense in canon why Aphmau discouraged their meeting because she didn't want Dante to freak out about more shadowknights and she doesn't know about the dynamic between Vylad and Gene very well, but also I think hearing that validation would be very good for both of them considering Gene is literally gaslight king #1. There aren't a lot of people who can relate to being hurt by him directly who are also able to tell the tale.)
Vylad and Katelyn (HER SEEING JEFFORY IN HIM IS SOOOO INTERESTING AND THEN THE ONLY THING IT EVER EVEN KIND OF GOT USED FOR WAS SHIPPING BAIT WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. theyre some of the two most Emotionally Congested characters there are itd be sooooo interesting to me if they like. they dont even have to talk about it. its fine. they can just hang out silently together. ok. they can vibe together. i think they would enjoy that. please.)
and for some non-vylad options so that I'm not just talking about him for the rest of this post: Dante and Zoey NEEED to have a bigger dynamic with eachother considering they were the big Stayed Behind For 15 Years guys and barely anything ever comes from it im so mad
Zianna and Aphmau is a dynamic that can really only be explored in a post-S2 timeframe. but i think would be very cute :) I can see Zianna being very motherly towards Aphmau (or mother-in-law if thats the kind of thing ur a fan of) when she finds out that Aphmau doesn't have/remember having a figure like that in her life already. + I think Zianna would respect Aphmau a lot as being both a responsible lord and a mother herself. I think the two of them would get along very well :)
Similar to above in regards to timeframe, I think Travis and Garroth would be a fun dynamic to explore. Garroth strikes me very much as a "I Can't Hate Them, They're Family" kind of guy just cuz thats what he was taught growing up, despite having an undeniably negative relationship with people like Zane and Garte. Travis being so openly a #dadhater would help Garroth work out some of his own issues regarding how he feels towards members of his own family. And from Travis' pov, Garroth gets built up a lot over the course of S2, and hearing all these tales and stories only to meet him in person and discover he's kind of just a nervous wet cat of a guy is very funny.
(ask prompts from here!)

So we all know Brian right? He betrayed Phoenix and afterwards was nowhere to be seen. Well I want to give my thoughts on Brian's motives, thoughts, and where he is now. Also some facts about grey wind as a treat.
So Brian was 15 when he met Aphmau, he was sent to the guard academy as soon he was 6. He was expected to be top of his class by his father. When he finished his training he wasn't even in the top ten, but still went to train under Garroth. The first week he came back, the old lord died. So when Aphmau comes, he watches as things are fixed up but at the same time a ton of bad things happen.
Brian looked up to Zane when he first came, with Zane being a High Priest, and Brian raised by a very religious mother, he looked up to Zane. Zane used that to his advantage. Zane used manipulation to try to sweeten Brian up, due to Brian being young he bought it hook line and sinker. Zane told him whatever he did was in the name of Irene, and he cared very deeply for every village in Ru'an. Right before the Alexis incident, Zane told him that he could allow him and his family a much better life, all Brian had to do was follow him. Brian didn't answer right away, so Zane gave him time to think.
When right after Alexis woke up, Brian got a letter from Zane. Zane used his manipulation once more to convince Brian that Aphmau was a bad guy. Zane did this by stating all the bad things happen in the village because she showed up, and if Aphmau joined O'kasic then everything will be peaceful once more. Brian just wanted things to be peaceful like when he was a kid, so he agreed to work with Zane on the condition that Zane will leave Phoenix alone afterwards.
After the war, Brian used the fact that everyone was recovering from the war to flee. He ran home when no one was watching and grabbed anything he needed to restart his life. Later after Aphmau's group went to the Irene dimension, he left at night. He would run to Tu'la and live in a small village for the rest of his life. He did leave a letter for each member of his family. The letters explained what he did, why, and that he was never coming home. Dale didn't read his letter by choice, Molly read her's and cried for days on end, Alexis didn't really remember Brian so never cared to read it.
Grey wind stayed in Phoenix Drop during the 15 years time skip. Staying with Dante cause Brian left grey wind behind. Grey wind would acted as a guard dog by the pier, barking when grey wind saw a ship. Grey wind did end up dying before Aphmau and crew came back, sadly it was due to bandits.

Update on my Mystreet binge {Spoilers for season 5, Starlight}
WOOOO.
I remembered most of this season after all! I actually stopped watching shortly after the engagement episode. Right before Derek {Aaron's father} spilled all the secrets to Melissa {A's sister}.
I really did miss the BIG reveals and the downhill roller coaster that is Angel's fall. With this season's finally, I'm terrified of season 6. Only hearing that its.. chaotic to say the least.
Most of the episodes were great. I found myself feeling embarrassed about the whole "alpha" spiel. But that's more due to how the word is used now-a-days that made me cringe in a bad way. Idk where the whole Maria plot was going, thought she was going to try to cause a rift between the main couple?
I loved the cute moments this season! The bonding with Aaron and Aphmau seemed more chill than over the top lovey dovey stuff. They are cute without the pressure of appearing cute. Unlike Travis and Katelyn, which was a great constrast and gave a few giggles. Still find it a bit creepy that EVERYONE is so into their relationship. But rather that than the guys hoping for their downfall just to get Aph. Sylvanna telling her daughter that becoming a werewolf "just because" was disrespectful towards the culture explained why I was so off put by it. Still, think the whole try not to compare Aaron to a dog was funny. {but where did Celestia go? She was there day one then vanished...??}
I also loved Zane and Nana's relationship.. for the most part. I like that Nana was pushy with it while Zane wanted to take things slow. I'm just surprised that he let a lot go by in the name of not rocking the boat. The whole accidental cheating with the brother plot.. it's one of those scenes you know it happened but happily skipped over a bit to save yourself the second-hand embarrassment. Their kiss {while later on said it was just to keep him interested} was adorable! I feel like it was just the way Nana would confess her feelings. And with Zane? He might not have taken the hint otherwise. Garroth's "about time" response to the news was perfect. It showed that he had improved on keeping his baby brother's feelings in mind.. so much so that he noticed the chemistry between him and Nana before they did!
The proposal was also nice. We all knew it was coming, but it still felt special. Only a bit sad that their announcement to his parents didn't go as planned. Especially with Garroth getting snipped. Poor dude can't catch a break. Experimented on when young {which might explain why Garte favors him}, ladies ran from him, and now he's bedridden because.. as Zane would put it .. he's a boob( ╥ω╥ )
Rant over. Have a smug bastard {derogatory, he would make a funny reaction meme tho}

How Levin is Related To Garroth
So, I've been on Aphmau Tumblr for a while; I loved Aphmau growing up in the early days of Youtube and how she shaped me as a person. You may not have to like her or support her but there is no denying that she's shaped all of us as people. In any case, I want to talk about something that's been bugging me for YEARS. And that's the Levin-Garroth debate.
For people who weren't around when Aphmau was uploading MCD, you might not understand. So, disclaimer if you haven't watched the original MCD series because there will be spoilers.
I and maybe others have been confused on why exactly Levin looks so much like Garroth. And that's not only to the fandom, in the actual canon of the series, everyone brings up the fact that Garroth and Levin's similiarities are uncanny. Levin even says in the second episode of season 2, "Everyone here says I look like Garroth, heh...I just hope that they don't expect me to live up to his reputation..."
So, within the series canon, everyone thinks that Levin looks like Garroth. So, what does that mean? Well, in season 2 episode 100, after Aphmau finds out that she's actually Irene. She says this, "Bloodline? Wait, does that mean that Levin is my great-great-grandson?" Which Hyria says,
"No, Irene was once a human many centuries ago, she had family, and she did a great job keeping them around her. Irene never had any kids of her own, but she did want children."
Irene never had children, which means we can rule out the theory that Irene and Esmund ended up together. But that first part, Irene had a family, which means, she had siblings and a mother and father. So, what does that say? Well, if we can dissect Irene's family tree, then that means that we can figure out how Garroth and Levin are related.
Most of this is my own canon, I won't give any names to characters that haven't been introduced. Most of the information that I'm saying are inspired of Jess's personal life, which she does in her own stories.
Irene's mother -- Irene's father (We can say that they were magic welders since that's the only explanation for Irene's gift. And as we know within the series, if you prefect your magic enough you can slow your own aging I.E. Hyria and Lucinda).
Then there's her brother, which isn't canon but for sake of story, let's say Irene has a brother. He has to also be a magic welder, because his parents are both; so, let's say he married a woman and ends up having a daughter.
Irene's niece, she ends up marrying into the Ro 'Meaves', centuries before O'Kahsis is born. In which she has a son,
Irene's great-nephew, he ends up marrying a woman. Who gives birth to...you guessed it. Garte. Who marries Zannah.
Which explains why Hyria and Zannah are so close; if Irene was still around when Irene's niece was born then she was around when Garte was born. Since Hyria and Irene were so close, I'm sure that her family knew about Hyria; considering her family as well.
Making them close by the time that Garroth, Zane, and Vlad were born.
Of course, this is all a fan theory and speculating. The reason why I had it to where Irene had a brother is because in IRL Jess has a half-brother.
So, what about Levin exactly? Well, remembered how I said that Irene's brother was married and had Irene's great-nephew? Well, he also had a daughter. Who ended up have a son; guess who that son was? The old lord of Pheonix Drop.
Phoenixes are supposed to represent rebirth, magic, renewal, and safety. Well, what does Aphmau do the moment she steps into that world? She's rebirthed, as a new person with magic and an instinct to protect people.
On top of all of that, it's canon that Gate and the Old Lord are magic welders; how else would Gate know magic? It's because Garte was born with it and taught Zannah how to use it along with Zane and Garroth.
Then what about Garroth? Doesn't that mean he's technically related to Irene? Well, yes. I know that probably sounds gross because Aphmau is technically supposed to be Irene herself. However, that's not how that works; when someone is reincarnated, that doesn't mean they're related to them. So, we're in the clear without any incest. (Thank God).
So, does that mean that Garroth and Levin are distant cousins? Yes, it's the only reason to explain why the two look so alike. Genes also play a big part in it as well.
Let's say, Irene's brother has the same auburn brown that she does. Then that means, he'd have to marry someone that carries the blue eye trait. To counter act the brown, Irene's family needs to be carrying the blue-eyed trait.
Then, both siblings have to be able to have the carrying trail. And since Irene's brother had both had daughter and a son, the daughter would carry the blue-eyed trait. Since the son ends up having another son, who ends up marrying someone who has blue eyes or carries it. Which passes it onto Levin.
On top of that, we already know that Garte has blue eyes which carried to both Zane and Garroth.
I know this was a lot to unpack in a single post, but this is the only way to explain why the two looked so similar. And not choke it up to ship bait. Which was probably the intention in the beginning. However, I'm sure that if Jess got to finish MCD Rebirth she would end up explaining it.

so before i made this post, i was actually sending a friend on discord some of the things i remembered/noticed while rewatching, so mini update with those notes. these all apply to like, very early season 1.
what the fuck was the point in Sasha making Sean Connery big???? what was the reason???? 😭
one of my favourite things in early Diaries is when a character who was previously like, just one of the minecraft comes alive villagers becomes "aware" and Aphmau is like "oh wow you can talk to me now?" and the villager just like, boardline gaslights her with "what do you me? i've always been able to talk to you"
why did Brian's name change from Ryan to Brian? like, do we think that Jess or Jason just forgot what his name originally was and changed it to Brian without realizing or was there an actual reason that was never explained???
the way at the start of the series, literally every time there is voice acting, everyone pronounces Garroth's name differently, it's so funny
to quote myself: "damn, remember when Sasha was described as "a woman with hair as white as snow" and Gene as "a man with eyes like water""
Aphmau when she learned that Kiki had a love story with a werewolf: "that's kinda weird and sad"
Aphmau when she makes Aaron a werewolf so she has a love story with a werewolf: sometimes very weird fetish-y stuff
when Levin first came into Aphmau's care, i said to my friend that it's very funny to listen to Aphmau talk about babies as if she doesn't know what it's like to have one, even tho when Diaries season 1 came out in 2015, she already had 2 of her irl kids (Joseph was born in 2012 and Julia was born in 2014)
there was some vague werewolf racism from Aphmau in an episode, don't remember which episode it was but it was before Laurance made his debut
"Laurance meets Aphmau and immediately trauma dumps on her"
Garroth had his face reveal and i said "remember when this was a big deal?"
"Brendan is one of the girls" ~ this was in reference to Brendan being at the beach with Kiki, Donna and maybe KC looking at Laurance and Brendan said that he was only there because "the other girls are here and Sasha was a girl" but i found it funnier to just ignore the part about Sasha
Aphmau found out that Laurance was Joh's adoptive son, but she said to herself "so he was the guard for his step-father or adoptive father?" and this caused me to rant to a different friend about people mixing up step-family and adoptive family
remember when Zane told Aphmau that he would be fine with marrying her so he could abuse his power over her?
this was followed by me saying that i love evil Zane btw
"Zane on his sacrificing babies arc"
and that's all that i sent to my friend while watching before i made the original post for this, i just thought that i would share. other then this, it's mostly just me celebrating when a character finally shows up
Things I Have Noticed/Remembered from my MCDiaries rewatch
I will be updating this as I continue my rewatch, currently everything listed is out of order, cause I've started writing this as I am on episode 64 of season 1 and I don't feel like fixing it to be in order, so sorry!
What the fuck was Garroth's "plan" he mentions to Zenix in the first episode 😭
Zenix seems to be younger then Garroth in Diaries, considering the way that Garroth talks about him, but I think in MyStreet, Zenix is either the same age or slightly older then Garroth, so far this is like, the only obvious age difference between the series (besides Travis and everyone else of course)
I forgot how entertaining Brendan's character is, he's far less annoying then I remembered
ZANE AS AN ACTUAL BAD PERSON, I LOVE HIM
I love Vylad, but I legit forgot how much he was in Diaries season 1, I thought he was in it far less
Currently at the stage of Diaries where there is no lgbt+ people, i'm very disappointed by this (we haven't even reached the queerbaiting)
KC's character is....not as bad (racist) as I was expecting, still not great though. I'm choosing to believe that KC is from Tu'lu and Maid Cafes are a thing there, and "Kawaii~Chan" is just a stage name for her work.
Y'all know how Cadenza went missing and she was actually turned into a chicken? Yeah, the way Hayden, Castor, & Laurance talk about her to Aphmau makes it sound like Cadenza is a small child. But then it turns out she's the same age, if not older, then Laurance and Aphmau.
Aphmau should've just made Joh and Hayden lovers, I'm so serious, it would make the whole Cadenza and Laurance being "close like siblings" in season 1 to I think actually being called as siblings in season 2 and in MyStreet a lot easier to understand and make a lot more sense.
Why does Kenmur have like, some sort of romance with all the girls from Meteli??? He was engaged to Sasha and is stated to have feelings for Cadenza.
I love when the episodes open from Sasha's POV, and she goes and talks to Gene and there's just no voices. I love having to pause to read what they're saying. (this point is sarcasm)
The way literally everyone reacted to learning Laurance was blind was....icky. Like, I understand Cadenza and Aphmau reacting as like "we need to find a way to bring his sight back", but the fact that it was literally EVERYONE who decided he needed to get his sight back was so weird.
I don't mind Laurance ACTUALLY getting his sight back, but I wish it was done differently. Like, personally, I'd have him like, have to wash his face with the water of the fountain of Lady Irene.
Emma & Corey, Dale & Molly, and Logan & Donna are very sweet couples.
After Zoey and KC were able to turn Cadenza back to her human form, Zoey mentions that she "recognizes Cadenza from somewhere", but I don't think this goes anywhere???? I'm assuming it was supposed to hint at like, Cadenza's backstory.
ngl, I kinda wish we got more of Zane and Kiki's relationship, I really wanna know what side of Zane Kiki actually saw.
Anyway, Kiki is currently expecting.
Nicole (my beloved) has showed up. I've decided I won't question the logic behind her iron fists being able to break bedrock, and instead say that her referencing her iron fists just made me think of Ace from One Piece and Natsu & Gajeel from Fairy Tail.
I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT NICOLE'S FOX, ROXY, AND ABOUT THE WYVERNS IN GENERAL 😭
I need to mention that in one episode (before Aphmau went to Scaleswind and learned about Lady Irene), Garroth says to Aphmau "by the seven", which I think she was hurt, but the use of "by the seven" is similar to how the same phase would be used in Game of Thrones or to how irl lots of people say "oh my god", so I'm really wondering if there were originally supposed to be 7 Divine Warriors instead of 6.
The way when Aphmau found Levin and decided to keep him and Garroth IMMEDIATLY decided he would be Levin's father figure.
The way when Laurance found out that Aphmau had a kid, his response was to play with Levin and say to Aphmau "you didn't tell me you had this little buddle of joy/energy".
That's all for now, I'll like, update when I have more to add.

Ok, sorry to dump this kind of rant on you, but you're one of the more active Aphmau blogs, and I wanted to hear someone else's opinion on this. Anyway, it’s not a new topic that people are disappointed in MCD’s worldbuilding, but I really wish the idea of religion, or more specifically, different religions, were explored more. I’m kind of rewatching the series really slowly, but if I remember correctly, the religion (the divine warriors) isn't really explored beyond, like, maybe four of the members? And even when we learn stuff about them, it just doesn’t make that much sense? Because the characters in the series treat them as though they were a pantheon, but they're just normal dudes, just some vaguely powerful guys. I want to say they are more like saints or prophets, but they don't answer to or preach about any greater beings; it's Just Them. Did people in the MCD universe just not worship any gods or spirits before these guys showed up?? Do the people of this universe at the very least have some creation myths floating around???
I remember at one point they mention that there's a wolf god, but we know basically nothing about them besides that they cursed a human to become a werewolf. But werewolves in this universe aren’t just ‘people who turn into wolves’ because only some of them have that ability... So why are these Giant Wolf People and "people who turn into wolves" lumped into the same category? Wouldn’t it make more sense if the story was a legend by the Giant Wolf People to scare off humans from hunting wolves? especially since their young still walk on all fours and could be mistaken for a normal wolf from a distance.
Anyway, back on topic, I think it does make sense that at the beginning of the story a lot of the characters' main religious affiliation is with these "Divine Warriors" since that will be the main religion that the story focuses on, but as the series continued, its world building could have benefited from exploring more religions and cultures. As more characters were introduced, more aspects of the world should have been introduced as well. Even if Jess didn't want to have to create entirely new locations to showcase these various religions and cultures, there are a lot of new characters that come later in the series who had their homes destroyed or that we just never got to see (ex: Aaron, Dante [and by extension, Gene]) who could have talked to Aphmau about this! It would have also added some depth to these characters' backstories and could have even made them more tragic. Like, "Why did Zane destroy Aaron’s village?" Well, we know that O'Khasis wanted to become a monarchy and rule over the entire continent; maybe Zane was in charge of some kind of religious crusade, and that’s why he had Aaron’s entire village killed. Stuff like that could lead to deep moments between Aphmau and some of the other members of the cast as they recount their old homes that they can’t or might not ever be able to return to and how weird everything is now that they don’t have anyone who’s familiar with or shares the same culture and religion as them, bonding with Aphmau because they can finally freely talk to someone about these important aspects of themselves without being judged.
NO HONESTLY THAT’S BOTHERED ME SOOO MUCH. how did the minecraft diaries world come to be? where did it start? what is magic in this world? they dont even have to explain it just give a lazy explanation and say a god or gods created the world.
because how did irene get her relic in the first place? did ppl just not have any faiths? how did they cope w/ death before irene? HOW DO THEY COPE W/ DEATH AFTER IRENE?? sure you can say that technically the nether could be their equivalent of the afterlife or hell but that’s only for guards, so what about everyone else?
though i do wna point out when u mentioned they were just normal dudes- it’s mentioned that there is speculation if irene herself was a goddess or a regular person- when it comes to legends of powerful people, their deeds can be exaggerated as time goes on so some people’s faiths lean towards that they were gods, while some could be skeptical and believe they were just people w/ powers. the audience and the main cast of mcd know the truth, however people like molly (??) and just other regular common dick and stanleys, dont know the whole truth.
unless i understood you wrong then ignore that previous part but Yes. you are right, religion in mcd was not explored enough o(-( i wish it was bc jfc.
the wolf god? honestly i completely forgot everything about werewolves. all i know is that they also praise the moon so there’s that? but i also do not understand the difference between born wolves and bitten werewolves? i guess maybe they’re not seen as pure? maybe not as creations from the wolf god but still yknow seen as one of them? i have no idea how to make sense of it
GODDD I SO WISHED THEY ALSO EXPLORED OUTSIDE OF RU’AN. we did get tu’la and if iirc— in s3, tu’la is a problem w/ the whole taking over o’khasis and shit. but anyway your aaron and zane idea is blowing my mind rn- it could’ve honestly been that? o’khasis’ government is heavily intertwined w/ the church of irene so it would make sense they’d go on crusades.
honestly anon, reading ur ramble made me think of an idea where maybe ppl not praising gods could’ve been an irene thing- i dont think irene’s as benevolent as she’s made out to be because i love gods/dieties/powerful figures who quietly work behind the scenes to tie everything to their goodness- but im just saying. it’s said that irene abolished the monarchy and created the lord system. in what world does she think thats going to work? there’s no way she said “everyone will have their own little towns and certainly everyone will abide by the rules!” then left. she left without putting any sort of authority to keep the lords in check therefore allowing certain lords to pretty much act the same way as kings. they’re still able to take over other villages/towns, literally there was no point in that. she gave the illusion that everything’s changed but she didnt… change shit. in fact she made it worse no? sure lords don’t call themselves kings but it’s just a title? i’m sure some places don’t call themselves that simply because they fear the wrath of irene’s followers or irene herself. the longer she’s gone however, the more unscrupulous people will become like aka o’khasis!!!
anyway i went off topic but what i’m trying to say is, that irene didn’t really help the ppl w/ the monarchy but gave the illusion that she did. what stops her, the most powerful being at the time (i think) from erasing the existence of gods once existing? IM JUST SAYING. it’s just a thought

Note
I never liked the forced marriage part of the mcd story because a: gross but also b: I could never figure out how to explain my thoughts on what happened after because Fenrir going from “prince who can’t do anything because he’s also being forced into this” to “guy who blames the woman who was almost forced to be his bride for the death of the people at his wedding even though it was 100% her companion and she SAVED HIM FROM HIM but of course gotta make another antagonist” enraged me
Literally just let Laurence admit that what he did was not the right thing but he thought it was his only option. Have fenrir admit that yes, he blames aphmau and laurence for the deaths but understands that Aphmau was at no actual fault and that Laurence was only trying to protect himself and his friends.
Instead, from what I remember: Fenrir wanted aphmau mauled before she was brought to him and if it would make her suffer worse, he’d make her marry him. He went from victim to even worse than his dad. Like why?? That was such a good opportunity to show that actions that can be even somewhat justified are still going to leave harm. Laurence was trying to protect the people he loved and himself. Yes, there was a genuine threat of death, and yes, Laurence was one of the people at risk, but those werewolves still had families and Fenrir had to watch the death of his father and a massacre.
i could talk about this storyline forever and that is exactly what i am going to do. i was genuinely obsessed with it i drew a million scene redraws and came up with a detailed idea of what i think would’ve happened before diaries was cancelled.
i personally really liked the storyline in season 2,, it’s insanely fucked up but it’s so enticing as it felt like a genuinely terrifying and stressful situation because,, there’s like,, no way to get out of it without shit hitting the fan. aphmau is locked in a bedroom until the wedding,, laurence is stuck in a jail cell,, only being let out to be humiliated by the king and to see the wedding and katelyn. katelyn literally has no idea what’s going on and was probably kept in a cell far away from laurence so he couldn’t fill her in on anything. the wedding scene altered my brain chemistry in so many ways,, it’s ingrained in my mind. literally iconic. i think it’s because it’s the first sign that laurence is beginning to go down a dark path. it’s the first time he transforms into his shadows knight form and his possessiveness towards aphmau amps up from this episode onwards.
about his actions specifically i don’t really blame him for what he did because what else was he supposed to do?? if he simply transformed,, grabbed aphmau and bolted then they would’ve had guards chasing after them and with the king still alive they would’ve most definitely been hunted - assuming they would’ve even escaped. obviously him massacring half of the wedding attendees was awful but him shoving the king off the cliff was kind of understandable. the guy deserved it.
NOW FENRIR,, he’s complicated. looking solely at what we’re shown his want for vengeance against APHMAU OF ALL people is baffling. it makes no sense how he solely wants to kill her. it completely ignores how the two of them bonded over their horrible situation and the fact he disliked his father. i understand that no matter what you’re parent has done seeing them die,, especially in such a gruesome way,, is devastating and i think fenrir wanting revenge makes sense. but like you said it would’ve made most sense for him to be partially angry at aphmau for “betraying” him (in his mind) but mostly at laurence as he was the one who slaughtered his people and his father. my personal interpretation of fenrir’s actions in season 3 is the cycle continuing. his desire to have aphmau mauled and to invade the phoenix capital makes him arguably worse than his father. he’s continuing the obsession and lack of rationality that his dad had. he even wants to still go through with the wedding. i think his misconstruing of the facts to fit his motives and feelings about what happened further prove this. he’s spiralling,, literally dedicating the past three years of his life to hunt down aphmau. you’re supposed to see how messed up this is and how far from truth his point of view is. obviously it’s unlikely jess intended this but i like my interpretation better.
i also wonder how his mother fits into this. she too was horrified and upset at her husband’s death but in the moment,, she still chose to help laurence,, aphmau and katelyn escape. i feel like maybe she would’ve been able to stop fenrir in season 3 if laurence apologising to him didn’t work. would’ve liked to see how she felt about how much her son had become like her husband and maybe that could’ve been what brought him to his senses. once he realised that he had become like the man he despised the most he would’ve given up on his rampage for revenge.
i’ll probably make a post about my scenario about what i think would’ve happened in season 3 but i’d rather not add it here because this is already a monster of a post lol

I can’t believe I started this blog asking for one note and you guys went way above and beyond that <3 <3
let’s do this shit *cracks knuckles*
also some of the points here might be in jumbled order cuz I just wrote them as soon as they came into my head
STUFF I DIDNT LIKE IN MYSTREET SEASON 2:
• ayyy home alone reference
• ok that’s not a bad thing
• WHERE IS LAURANCE. He had no reason to just disappear like that where did he go :(
(side note: I’m pretty sure that Jess was hospitalized during this time, so a lot of characters were cut out and the script was made shorter. so I think that’s why a few characters were scrapped.)
• isn’t llp supposed to be ‘sold out since forever’?? how do Aaron and Dante somehow win tickets FOR EVERYONE just by kissing?? ok sometimes shows or contests give free tickets...but only like one or two. Aphmau literally drags the whole street there
• in my opinion it is IMPOSSIBLE for a whole street’s worth of people to pack their stuff, grab essentials, drive to the airport, check in and get on the plane IN AN HOUR. especially considering that mystreet is the most chaotic street in existence
• why do all the boys swim shorts have the same damn pattern hello originality??
• DAMN TRAVIS GETS UP TO SOME FREAKY SHIT WHEN THE OTHERS ARENT HOME. he literally hires people to impersonate his friends and monologues as katelyn and I’m not even going to repeat those lines here they are CURSED😳😳 where did he even get Katelyn’s clothes from??
• how does the mys gang take Zane, who (im pretty sure) wasn’t even in the house where Garroth and Dante were when Dante broke down the door, but forget to take Travis, who literally lives IN THEIR BASEMENT IN THE SAME HOUSE. for the record HOW DO THEY FORGET LAURANCE. this makes no sense (I don’t really remember this part well so if zane is actually there then ignore me :) thanks)
• garroth saying ahoy matey kills me every time
• I feel like lucinda really got shoved to the side in this season. she barely has any relevant lines that aren’t just filler
• ok there’s a gay couple here it’s Guy and Nate. but isn’t this way of representing them heavily stereotyped?? a twink and a buff guy. Seems like a stereotype to me and I don’t like it because of that
• also arent ivy and teony supposed to be lesbian?? this would have been nice...IF WE ACTUALLY GOT TO SEE THEM ASIDE FROM LIKE TWO EPISODES. Stop making characters disappear :( I get that not every character can be major but they were like the only decently written lgbtq+ representation this show has plus teony is a dark-skinned beauty and you cannot convince me otherwise. she’s underrated
• I bring to you better lgbtq+ representation: Garrance
• admit it it would’ve been SO MUCH BETTER even tho Laurance wasn’t actually in s2 at least do it in s1
• we need more nb and lgbtq+ representation I’ll say this again and again
• when Aph sees Ivy there’s no mention of her being in a jury of any kind in pdh. Same with Katelyn and Jeffory actually, even Ivan in s3. If these people weren’t in the jury then who was??
• i love mcd Dante but WTF HAPPENED HERE. His character is a mess and not the good kind. he is dumb, flirty and a cheater since highschool and instead of learning from his mistake of cheating in pdh he decides to DO IT AGAIN. And I don’t see anyone else in the cast point this out or tell him not to?? Why??
• HOW TF DO ZANE’S PANTS EVEN FALL DOWN?? he legit goes down a baby water slide and boom theyre gone. Aphmau doesn’t lose her clothes while going down a roller caster water slide that GOES INTO THE SEA so HOW DOES HE?? If they were that loose they would’ve fallen off while he was walking. which they didn’t. Also doesn’t water make your clothes stick to your skin and not the other way around? Ya hello can someone please explain
The next four points are not actually bad things i found them funny in a stupid way but also how tf did they even happen:
• I’m not even going to BOTHER deciphering the physics behind Travis setting the house on fire, having said fire coming into contact with explosive feathers, and yeeting him thousands of miles away into llp
• no seriously how is he still alive
• and why is he allowed to stay?? isn’t this place sold out since forever??
• wow celeste has the power to swim thousands of miles away to llp as well seriously what does she eat??
ok let’s get back to it
• doesnt Katelyn throw Travis off a roof some time in this season, or was it s1? Either way that’s not cool
• the talk between Travis and katelyn was very much needed. I’m very glad it was written in but feel as though it could have been written a bit better. also Katelyn doesn’t even realize what shes doing isn’t ok till here in canon which I don’t like because it makes her seem ignorant or airheaded and I know she isn’t like that. she’s better than that. she should have been at least a bit aware of it since s1
• AND THIS WHOLE TALK WAS SHOVED ASIDE BCUZ AARON HAD TO ASK APH TO LIVE WITH HIM. am I the only one that feels this way? which is more important in your opinion?? there was nothing inherently wrong with this scene but the fact that THIS had more importance than the travlyn talk really upset me
• hello Gene :) the ONLY character with some decent development here. Give him a hand👏👏
let me make it known that I’m aware that this is supposed to be an anime style show so not everything will make logical sense but I’ve still put those points in cuz why not
and that’s all I can think of thanks for coming to my ted talk <3 <3

the hell is mystreet season 6??
(warning, long post ahead)
ok so before i start this
1) ive never posted shiiiit on tumblr before so watch me suffer, im just here to talk about stuff that my friends who dont know anything about aphmau have to listen to me rant about for hours on end
2) i havent seen mystreet in like years (except season 3, i watch that frequently since im laurance and shadow knight deprived) so please bear with me because i might be completely wrong on this lol. it’s just like, pointing out things i remember
3) im sure someones already talked about this but who cares
4) im gonna do this stupid thing where i just explain myself a bit at first, if you dont want to read that just skip to the part where you see “the actual thingy:” in bold and italics
5) mild disclaimer; i am completely aware that jessica is not a professional writer. i know that she did her best to appeal to her fans, and honestly, respect for that. while this post will come off as aggressive and probably look like hate, that’s not my intention in the slightest. it’s just... intense criticism. im sure y’all probably already know that, but yeah, just stating that anyways. i do believe that jess is doing her best, and in no way do i want to dismiss any hard work she’s done. that being said; prepare for a very strongly opinionated post.
haha watch there be 10000+ typos in this making me look like a complete dumbass
ok here we go
one of the main reasons i stopped watching aphmau back in 2017 was the mess that was season 4. like, in the first few episodes of the emerald secret, i thought “woah!! this is kinda cool, im a sucker for mystery!” because of course i was, it was something new and something exciting. the only problem i had with it at the time was kim, but that’s just because i always found her annoying and out of place. i just didn’t understand why garroth dragged her along and honestly i still don’t to this day BUT, moving on.
anyways, as the season progressed, 13 year old me was of course just “:0!!” the entire time--that is, up until the reveal of the main villain. i remember watching the episode, seeing the reveal of ein, and then stopping. like, just for a quick break, but i was still just overwhelmingly disappointed. like, and this was the time when pdh was airing and ein just got made alpha (i think?) and i had really really liked eins character in pdh. either way, that really sucked and actually opened my eyes to a lot of things.
one of the main things bein’ the fact that this was supposed to be a slice of life kinda series that decided to take a turn to a more edgy kinda approach. which, i guess i regularly wouldnt mind? but seeing as mcd was kinda bein neglected at the time it just didnt sit right with me. BUT WHATEVER, point is i stopped watching mystreet all together at the end of season 4.
like, a whole year later my brother tells me that shit’s getting intense in season 5 + 6 of mystreet, and my brilliant self decided to give it a shot--but i refused to watch all of season 5, so i only stepped in when ein made an appearance. so whenever that was, that’s where i picked up because i didnt care enough to see
and y’know--i honestly didn’t hate it at first. in fact, i found it oddly cool. it wasn’t enough to get me into aphmau again, but it was enough to where i was intrigued. i dont know why, but i never watched the finale, so i didnt see the ending until just a few weeks ago--but back then, i thought it was neat. looking back on it however... im just so confused.
side note: only got back into aphmau this time around because of mcd. mainly because like, i adore the first season and the first half of the second season. and being nearly 18 now, im a lot more appreciative of plot and well-written characters n junk.
the actual thingy:
ok back on track. imma stop spilling out my story of how i got back into aphmau, and lets just skip to what rewatching mcd made me realize of season 6′s plot and shit:
-emmalyn. how the fuck does ghost even remotely exist? if she’s emmalyn as claimed, then why have we already seen emmalyn in the mystreet universe alive? look i get that creators can do whatever they want with their stories but at the same time please provide some sort of explanation good god. and maybe they did and i just havent seen it, so if there is one--let me know. but until that day imma just sit here confused as fuck
-ok so imma just be real, the whole ‘ultima’ thing is just... not great. in my opinion, anyways. like... i saw someone mention this in another post, but if this ultima stuff was like, a really big deal, why isnt it mentioned in mcd? though i suppose since its a curse of sorts, it could be later on past the time period in which mcd takes place--but even then, how did it manage to make its way into aaron’s family bloodline?
-WHY IS EVERYONE AT STARLIGHT ITS JUST SO CONVINIENT like what happened to this place being the most expensive shit on the planet or whatever, and how the gang happens to run into like, the werewolf trio and blaze and kai and guy and nate all of these people like god damn life doesnt WORK LIKE THAT
-im sorry but turning people into relics? thats... thats the best you could come up with? plus, like, how does that even work? in mcd it’s established that relics are separate entitles that choose their wielder, based on a ‘personal’ connection (being a descendent of a previous wielder) or if they’re a good match personality and (i think?) moral wise. so the whole turning-people-into-relics doesnt make much sense to be honest.
-irene really over here using her god powers to only keep her friends alive like god damn not a great god if you ask me
-can i talk about how incredibly predictable aphmaus death was? like i just kinda sat there waiting for it to happen and when it did i literally went “haha! wonder when she’ll be revived” because god forbid we actually kill off characters
-when aphmau + demon warlock fought in the irene dimension there was no passage of time whatsoever in the real world whiiiiiiiiich really bothers me because they fought in there for at least a few minutes
-speaking of aphmau and the demon warlocks fight does it bother anyone else that it had to be aaron who took over the fight?? like we get it hes the big protector blah blah blah but god damn it wouldve been cooler if aphmau had fought this battle as her. aaron fighting this battle was so underwhelming
-...love. like, thats the only thing thats needed to break out of a forever potion? love? LIKE YEAH, GOOD GUYS GOTTA WIN SOMEHOW, but its just so cliche and overdoneeee
-oh yeah and also when travis went bonkers and became the demon warlock or whatever, why’d he only take over katelyn and garroth?? like, zane had been influenced by the potions in the past as well? DONT GET ME WRONG--i do love some good brother edge, but uh, the demon warlock was just bein kinda a dumbass by not possessing zane too just sayin’
-can aaron please go to fucking jail for mass murder now like holy shit, he just got sent home on a fuckin boat. also why did blaze forgive him for killing him thats not even remotely realistic. then again, nothing in mystreet has ever been realistic when it comes to characters and motives and personalities, (cough katelyn being actually abusive and travis being an actual pervert) but yknow whatever
-katelyn and kawaii chan literally added nothing to the plot whatsoever. like lets be real, katelyn lost her personality the moment season 5 started and kawaii chan just kinda sits there :I
-ok im sorry this was bound to come up but cmon guys imagine laurances potential if he was in season 6 like god damn this is beyond maddening. AND YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A REALLY REALLY COOL PARRALLEL?? IF IT WAS LAURANCE WHO SNAPPED GARROTH OUT OF HIS MIND CONTROL THING, because it would mimic laurance’s speech to get garroth to snap out of his rage in season 1, episode 100 of minecraft diaries. like how fuckin rad would that have been? missed opportunity
-also?? why does kim/ghost know magicks?? like, if i remember correctly, emmalyn is a scholar--not someone who knew magicks. i mean, i guess research? study?? but its been established that knowing how magicks works =/= being able to use magicks. i dunno, just doesnt seem right i guess. maybe its explained, i wouldnt know (yes i know that makes me look like a dick leave me alone)
-melissa should have stayed dead. LIKE, NO, ITS NOT AS SIMPLE AS “haha it takes more than a few bullets to kill me”??? look ive got nothing wrong with melissa (cough lie cough) but yknow it would have just been cool a character... stay dead? for once? its just too fuckin cliche that shes alive god damn
-can i also just say the only good thing that came out of season 6 was travis’ dads sacrifice like damn that made me actually sad
-howww was lucinda turned into a relic. or yknow, anyone else? like im sure they explain it better in the actual show i just dont remember, but its just that easy? turning anyone into a relic? granted, a normal person wouldnt be able to produce a good relic, but idk man. IM JUST SAYING; that the only really powerful relics that aphmau should have been able to wield is the one that aaron + zane produced because shad relic and esmund relic moment. lucinda isnt even like, connected to a divine warrior. ALSO, another point, if its seriously that powerful of a relic getting one from just a magic user like lucinda, why go through the trouble? i mean i guess ofc youd want the “all powerful” one that the ultima produces but i mean damn whats the point
-ok this is just going to bother me but in one of the episodes (i think might have been in season 5 actually) where that like, guardian dude was chasing aphmau and zane and at one point they split up and the dude just chuckles at zane diverting paths and goes under his breath “youre not the important one here”, suggesting that aphmau somehow is? first of all, id argue that any ro’meave is significantly more important than aphmau was, especially not knowing much about her other than that shes with aaron. i might be missing some bits an pieces, but if i was that dude id forget about aphmau and go after zane
-killing off derek for shock factor sucked, and i know the moment was supposed to be really sad because like “oh :( aarons dad is sacrificing himself for his son” but lets be real dereks still was a shitty father and i dont think his reasons for doing what he did was very good at all
-less about plot or more like: why the absolute fuck did the gang bring kim along instead of, oh i dont know, a life-long friend? like, laurance or dante maybe?? im sure its explained, i never saw aphmaus year or most of season 5, but god DAMN id hate to be apart of this friend group AND GOD LIKE, imagine reconnecting with an old friend who ends up getting closer to your best friends and taking priority in their lives over you (cough laurance) like god damn lol
-im just going to preface this one with: i dont remember everything that’s happened, so if im wrong i apologize in advance--but (you actually can correct me if im wrong and please do) didnt like, irene reincarnate her friends in order to give them better lives? I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, ITS JUST WHAT I REMEMBER--however, if im correct, then:
a. why the hell would she bring back someone like zane, or gene, or ivy, etc.
b. why the hell do they all have the same exact names? first and last? again, im aware that the whole mystreet+mcd tie wasn’t originally supposed to be there, but i dont think that means such a coincidence can be excused? its just a bit much if you ask me.
c. why the hell is the fact that (as much as i literally hate this) aaron is a decedent of shad being ignored? like, you’d think that something like this would be something thats actually important, or something the demon warlock couldve taken advantage of. or are we completely erasing every other connections to divine warriors besides aphmau + irene? because even if irene did reincarnate them or do whatever it is she did, does she even have the power to sever the connections between them and their ancestors? my guess is, no.
d. speaking of irene why on earth was aphmau able to talk to/see irene, they’re literally the same person are they not? did she like, fuckin reincarnate herself without actually doing it?? BUT--i will give it to them, the demon warlock did refer to aphmau as something along the lines of being “one of the 3 parts of her broken soul” or something like that. however, my point still remains. also what are the other two did i miss that or is it never explained
now; if irene in fact did not ‘reincarnate’ her friends then please ignore that little bit right there :)
but yes, those are a few of the problems i have with season 6 off the top of my head. i would go into like, season 4 and 5 more as well, but i honestly didnt feel like it. at some point i might go into other things, like how important laurance could have been to the plot of these later seasons, or HELL, even dante. i might also go into what could have made season 4, 5, and 6 actually good--maybe... a rewrite? perhaps? but im getting too far ahead of myself, so i just leave you with this for now.
and i know that as soon as i post this 15 more things are just going to pop into my head BUT im going to try and not edit this post because why stress myself with that even more
anyways thank you for coming to my tedtalk

Fate of the Fallen
ok basically. au where Zane wins the battle of Phoenix Drop
Tw for character death and implied gore
Another patrol of guards walked by a cell, exactly like any other in the dungeon. Inside sat a young woman, a lord, who was a prisoner just like any other. She sat on the cold stone floor waiting for her execution which was scheduled for that morning, just like the lord of any other village who waged war with the city of O'khasis.
She couldn’t help but wonder what lay in fate for those she called her friends.
Garroth had betrayed her in the final moments of the battle, turning instead to stand beside his brother Zane as he lay waste to the land she cared so much for.
There was irony in the way a village named phoenix had been buried in ash and flame.
She had seen Laurance in the middle of those flames unhurt, his eyes burning a shade of fire not of this realm. He had stayed by her side as long as he could before he ran off, explaining that he needed to make sure his sister was safe.
She had found his sword discarded in the plaza, the emerald shine covered by the crimson stain of blood. Had he escaped the battle or was he being held in a cell like she was? Or maybe they had found a different way to deal with him?
Maybe he was safe and on his way to save her? She laughed. That kind of thing only happened in the stories Zoey would read to Levin and Malichi. This was reality and there was no knight in shining armour on their way to her rescue. But it was still a comforting thought at the back of her mind.
The stranger was laying under a tree when she saw him. His body already rotting even before he had died, the work of a dark spell. She sat by him as he told her not to worry about him and his passing, as they both had a family they were going to reunite with. He thanked her for giving a man like him something to care for in his last moments. And like that he was gone.
The woman knew it wasn't right to cry over a man she hardly knew, but she did. She took his strength with him as she stood up to continue her fight.
She wished she’d been able to say her goodbyes to Dante the same way she had with the stranger. She didn’t even know where all of his body was. She covered what she had with the man's own cape. In his hand she placed the amulet he’d told her had been a comfort for him.
She wished she could have let herself trust him enough to keep it. Instead it lay as a weight in her pocket in his last moments when he needed it most.
As she walked away she promised herself she would bury him later.
At the end it was her, Katelyn, and Lucinda facing off against Zane, Lillian, and Garroth.
Zane had her pinned against a tree as her last two friends were made quick work of. She screamed and tried to fight off her captor but like everything she had done in the short part of her life she could remember, it was in vain.
She had later been told that the body’s had been dumped in the ocean, there was no need to waste space for the graves of a witch and a traitor.
She wasn't sure how she felt as sunlight began to pour through the small window of her cell. She missed Zoey. And Levin and Malichi. And her dogs. Her family. If anything, she hoped they had survived on that ship. She wondered if there was an afterlife waiting for her. Would she go there and spend eternity in peace or would it all be over in a few minutes? Or maybe she would be brought back as a shadow knight, however that worked? So many ifs and so little time to think
about them.
She could hear the distinct sound of metal boots against a stone floor echoing down the hall. Her breath was caught in her throat.
“Aphmau of Phoenix Drop?”
She stood up and held her head high, her voice devoid of emotion.
“That’s me.”
The cell door was opened and her hands were bound. She was lead down the corridor and into the light of a courtyard.
In front of her was a table with ten seats around it. In the center sat Zane, around him sat what she assumed was the rest of the Jury. Her eyes locked onto Garroth, who had his face covered with a helm. Did he know what had happened to the village he had called home for a time? What had happened to the other guards he had once called his brothers? She wondered if he had any regrets and what he was feeling, if anything, right now.
She was pushed to her knees as Zane stood up and walked towards her.
“You are here because of your crimes against the O’khasis alliance and kidnapping of the heir to the lordship of Scaleswind”
Lies.
“Now do you have anything to say before we begin?”
Aphmau spat at his feet.
“Of course,” He turned and made his way back to the table “Get this over with, I have things to be doing”
Aphmau took in a final breath before the executioner took a swing.
She felt the cold metal cut through her neck.
Her body was full of light.
Who was she? She wasn’t Aphmau. What is Aphmau? Why had she chosen it? No of course she was Aphmau. No. She wasn’t human either. What was she? Why were they killing her? They weren’t killing her. They were fools for thinking they could.
Her body was full of light and Zane Ro'meave was going to pay for everything that he’d done.
