Hi, hey, hello.
If you have a partner who's very bad at math and tactical thinking? Please don't make them play a game that's literally just that. That's, like, billed as challenging for people who are into that sort of thing. Please don't do that.
#I just played Inscryption for like 7 hours#And there are good-ish parts#but so far it's just succeeded in making me feel stupid#like kinda wanna cry because it's tapping into lifelong insecurities kind of stupid#And it sucks because my partner LOVES THIS GAME#And he's like telling me how it's so good and I'm gonna love it#IT IS A TACTICAL GAME. WHAT ABOUT ME SAID SHE'S THE ONE FOR TACTICS.#I love my partner so much but now I'm trying so hard to not just yuck his yum but PITCH THE CONTROLLER at his yum#Like... I don't get the puzzles I don't get the tactics I can't remember what all the cards are supposed to do#then there's MORE that's HARDER and i'm just like fucking...#so confused#I don't even get what the mystery is supposed to be#like a mystery is fun WHEN YOU'RE PICKING UP CLUES#I have NO IDEA what's fucking HAPPENING and we're 7 HOURS IN of me getting my FACE MASHED and I HATE IT#But I love my partner so I'm just telling him#damn it makes me feel bad and it's really hard for me to do but I'm interested in seeing what the mystery is all about!#and hoping that's kind enough because it's all i got in my little self pity hole#That's all any of this is#just a self pity rant because I can't do it to my partner about the game he was extremely excited to share with me#So I'm sending it into the tumblr void#because it's the only safe space i've got between one friend who's self-involved and the other whose got a newborn#if you read all this congrats try not to judge too hard#fuck man

The beegswaz/RAD1OSILENC3 @kingshovelbug Game Recs Post! Featuring my subpar image designing as seen Above!!
Everything will be Under the cut so I'm not blowing up someones dash with a Text post the length of that One colours of the sky post!!!
CWs will consist of anything that isnt Jumpscares or violence or blood beclaws those are Pretty standard in some of these Games
Hollow Knight
Steam Link | No CWs I can think of? Though, flashing lights Warning for some attacks! I know it was initially suggested en-mass but it's SUCH A SILLY GAME!! GENUINELY SO FUN! I'm no good at most metrovanias and such but I have a blast every time I Play this game :D It's so pretty AND 4! FREE! DLCS!!! And A fanmade one that's Unironically so good! (Pale Court!! It's so good I love what it adds <3)
2. Phasmophobia
Steam Link | No CWs outside of a General feeling of dread :3 And also some flashing lights! I suggested this on stream today when Everyone was discussing horror games but I genuinely have So much fun while playing this with Friends!! Solo runs are also fun but I am too scared to Do solos :( Could also be fun to do subscriber games if You wanna do more sub interactions!
3. ___ of the Killer
Gamejolt Link | No CWs beclaws all of the games in the Series are light-hearted, but just to be Safe there is some mentions of Stalkers and Cults! I love the __ of the Killer series so much!! They're so fun and I played them a Ton on discord streams in the Past! I love the style of them All so much and they Aren't too long of games, so you Can always make a pseudo Marathon out of them! Good games :)
4. The Bunny Graveyard
Steam Link | Flashing lights! Fun game! It's only a demo right Now but its enjoyable! I don't remember how Long the demo is, but you can always play it with Some other short games to make a decently length Stream! Also: very cute style :3
5. Escaped Chasm/Dwellers Empty Path
Itch.io Link | Itch.io Link | First game warns of high-pitched Tones and flashing lights! Second game doesn't warn of Anything :] TEMMIE GAMES!! First one is only around 15-20 Minutes unless you try and Get all endings, second game is About 1-2 hours! They're in the Same universe and would best be played one after the Other :] Escaped Chasm reminds me a Lot of the opening of OneShot, and Dweller's Empty Path is just generally delightful to play! Cute games
6. Rain World
Steam Link | I.... I think minor Flashing lights? Hollow Knight but if it was Harder and more miserable to complete!! Adorable protagonist and beautiful Scenery!! I've only played... a Little bit of Rain World actually, but it's fun! If not difficult!!
7. Inscryption
Steam Link | Bright/Flashing Lights if I remember Correctly? And also it's listed As a psychological Horror Imagine if you had a Deck of pokemon cards but like maybe one of them is Alive and also you can make one Entirely unkillable and get its stats up to 1000+ attack for the vine! And then add a 2d game and Also bosses that are all kind of Assholes!! Excluding Grimora she's a delight :D It's such a fun game with so much lore and a robot whos entire thing is Insulting you at Every turn!
8. Hi-Fi RUSH
Steam Link | Bright/Flashing lights! Only game to fill the void in my Heart that Jet Set Radio left </3 (Not really, I can just go play JSR whenever I want LOL) ITS SO FUN!!! This game is so silly like Actually, I adore the style and the Characters and the Music  My friend has been streaming this game to me and I just Adoreeee it
9. Cry of Fear
Steam Link | Flashing Lights, general disturbing enemy Design, I believe mentions of Suicide? This game actually made me really scared(? Uncomfortable?) both When I played it and When I was watching a Stream of it?? It's so good but god damn dude. I'm really only throwing this on here Beclaws I enjoy its atmosphere and the horror Aspect of it
10. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
Steam Link | No CWs(?) Coming out August 18th, I lied when I said that Hi-Fi filled the hole that JSR/JSRF Left in me!! This game is the real void-filler! It's directly inspired by Jet Set in both design, music, and gameplay (WHICH IS DELIGHTFUL!!!! if sega wont do anything with jet set, then the Fans will!!) it just OOZES style and I think itd be fun to Play on stream when its out!!
END OF THE LIST!! BECLAWS IM TIRED ITS 12 AM HERE!!! Other games not listed but I think you should play: Ib, Pocket Mirror, A Hat in Time, Neon White, Slime Rancher, Subway Midnight, No Straight Roads, Angels of Death, The Witches House, Hello Charlotte, IMSCARED, Spookys Jumpscare Mansion, The Bluehills County Collection (Parsnip, The Testimony of Trixie Glimmer Smith, Three Lesbians in a Barrow)

#pony island was great as i remembered#the hex was like a 6/10 gameplay wise but i LOVED what he did with it#like i think inscryption is definitely the best but i love the way the guy uses video games as a story telling format

something im starting this year is a very self-indulgent, "my year in review" thing where i list 7 video games i enjoyed this year + 7 movies from this year that i liked because as time goes on i feel like i'm getting worse and worse at determining what i did and when i did them so this is basically just a place for me to journal the things i enjoyed this year for future reference.
all the movies are 2022 releases but since i'm hardly ever on top of current video game releases. my games list is gonna be all over the place. im mixing them up. feel free to read if you want yippee it's meant for me but since its being posted publicly ill write em all up as little recommendations. going in no particular order other than alphabetical and alternating between a movie and a video game i liked this year. also why 7 of each ? because 7 is my favorite number fuck you
The Batman
-hmmm. thoughts. congratulations to our second gay batman, robert pattinson. ok this is only half a joke. i love the riddler being a twitch streamer terrorist i like when media modernizes older characters it's funny. gotham truly felt like a shithole in this movie. soundtrack fucked. can't fight city halloween was on my spotify 100 wrapped
Inscryption (2021)
-i fucking suck at this game, i still have not beaten the trapper and as i understand theres like 2 whole other parts of the game to go or something??? so no i have not beaten it yet. but i have also sunk an unholy amount of time TRYING to beat it and i didn't get sick of it. it's a very dark but very entertaining card game and it has a free demo. even if you don't like card builder games i think you should try. it has a very unique atmosphere and premise
Bullet Train
-yes i liked the cringe brad pitt action movie. fun fact this was actually specifically tailor-made for me in a factory! it has a large cast of assholes trying to kill each other and it's funny and wacky and i love the directing. that sounds so fucking nerdy to say but i want to be a film director so im gonna say it. the directing of the action sequences especially was really impressive to me because there's only so much space/movement your camera can (believably) achieve when filming in a small, rectangular, ever-moving box like a train and i think mr david leitch did it very well. also tangerine and lemon funniest characters in an action comedy ever
Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk (2020)
-i kind of don't want to say much about this on the off chance someone reads this and also decides to play a game on this list but. listen. play it. it's like a dollar. it's very short, it's about a girl dealing with mental illness, and that's all i'll say about it.
Glass Onion
-mr benoit blanc u are so fruity. but ohg this was fun. it was fun! and it was especially more fun to rewatch it and see all that i missed and the small moments that they weren't really trying to hide from you. i enjoy the concept of being gaslit by a movie. also janelle monae is always so fun to see act
Paradise Killer (2020)
-honestly, there is so much i hate about this game. the sprites are awkward. the voice acting is bad. the platforming is abysmal. yet it's still here because i think its world is genuinely insane and unique and it knows the exact type of vibe its going for with all these terrible people in a vaporwave reality and it achieves it and also its a murder mystery and i like those. give it a try
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once
-yeah we all know her pussy slaps. there really isn't anything new for me to add. it's funny. it's got good action. michelle yeoh best actress award NOW!!!!!
Pathologic Classic HD (2015)
-yea this one is kinda cheating. i started it last year and got like 2 hours into it and gave up and then did a bunch of other things but i finally figured out how to get my controller hooked up to my laptop this year and i played it. 100%'d it. its proudly displayed on my steam profile.
look at that. awful. horrible terrible plague walking simulator 0/10 am playing again
Nope
-i love jordan peele. i love keke palmer. i love daniel kaluuya. this movie was made FOR MEEEEEEE it was very slow and tense and i know a lot of people complained about the slow pace of it but the build-up made (SPOILER) reveal all the more terrifying. speaking of terrifying, the scene where everyone (SPOILER) is the scariest thing ive seen in years and i think i have claustrophobia now :) also akira homage <3
A Short Hike (2019)
-this one was soso cute and relaxing :) it was very funny and had a cute artstyle and i beat it in like 1 hour. not a very big commitment but its charming enough to want to come back to
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
-ummm. so. puss in boots??? that shit slapped????????? it had NO reason to be that good. like obviously the animation has been spiderverse'd which SLAPS but the they put their whole puss(y) into this movie and they didn't have to. it's good. all the characters were SO fun, literally all of them. i love the stupid little dog. he is my scrimblo. go check it out if you haven't it is NOT the soulless cash grab i thought it would be
Slime Rancher (2017)
-so like, conceptually, this game is weird as fuck. a first person shooter where you suck up little jellies and feed them and harvest their poop. its insane. its also very relaxing but also very ...management-y, like the way stardew valley is where its technically very relaxing but you are doing SO much to maximize ur profit for the day. i love that shit. look at those things. theyre adorable
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
-ohg. knumckles
SOMA (2015)
-ok so i don't actually get scared that often BUT here is a mike secret. ocean shit SCARES me i do not like anything set under the ocean and the fact that this game takes place underwater freaks me the fuck out. i dropped my 3 hour save file to switch to little baby for bitches mode after 3 hours not because the monsters themselves are scary but because emotionally i cannot handle monsters on top of a deep sea setting. also the story was really good you should play it

Inscryption: scrybe gaming headcanons.
Author note: This is based on games I have played, and thought they would personally enjoy. I would suggest you to play them as well if you haven’t. Just going to pretend they have access to PCs and consoles lmao. I can imagine their minecraft chat logs being hostile as fuck.
If this is badly spaced, sorry! Something is up with my tumblr where no matter how many time I change it to nicely spaced it cramps together again.
Also my dumbass forgot the uberbots and students, they are next.
Warning: Language, minor spoilers for Viviette, advice for stardew ig? (?).
Leshy
He prefers games with an interesting story or based around nature.
He loves Minecraft.
While playing, he is rather peaceful. Only really playing the game for exploration and mobs.
He is the type of player to tame as many animals as possible, having a pack following him as he travels the world.
Currently has 23 wolves, 17 cats, and 3 horses. The number decreases more than increase.
If anything ever hits him, it’s instant death by wolf.
When he stumbles onto a village, he doesn’t loot or commit mass murder.
He would also play Stardew Valley.
His farm is well decorated with plants and trees
Unlike P03, he doesn’t make bank each harvest. This is partly due to him choosing to focus on live stock and their quality of life than the money.
Because of this, he opted to marry Shane because of the blue chickens.
“Woah.”
“I know, glorious isn’t it? My farm is a safe haven to the beasts of this game-“
“ Your farm is shit.”
“What?”
“Your farm is shit.”
“I have put a lot of effort into this, why-“
“Just because you have a variety of animals and decorated the place, doesn't mean it’s good. I bet you’re broke as fuck. Your husband is a bum and-”
*Offended gasp.*
“And...how did you get a blue chicken?”
Grimora
Grimora enjoys horror games and multiplayer games.
She also has minecraft, but doesn’t often play it.
This is because she prefers to play with friends, and the other Scrybes just do their own thing. So it isn’t as fun as it could be.
She loves realistic horror games, but she adores the ones with a cuter art style more as they tend to have better writing and gameplay.
This includes games such as Viviette and Inmost. The two games were adored by her due to the cuter art-style, and the gameplay.
In Viviette, despite having extremely difficult puzzles had been extremely fun. She liked how you had to run and hide, even if you were doing a puzzle.
Despite the game being short, she had spent about 7 hours trying to complete it.
Out of curiosity, she told P03 to play the game.
They completed it within four hours and had little difficulty.
Inmost’s art style and music did wonders to create a sombre mood.
The game had a lovely story as well…
She had recommended the game to Magnificus, as well as a few other things she tried.
“I feel as though you would enjoy this game.”
“Ok.”
“You should try it.”
“I will.”
“When you try the game, tell me how you feel about it.”
“Ok.”
“ You would appreciate the art-“
Magnificus
He doesn’t play video games of his own free will. He is either forcefully made to play, or bullied into trying.
Often, he wonders what he has done in life to deserve his treatment.
But if he had to pick his favourite type of game, he would pick something that focuses around visuals or has a interesting story. Genre doesn’t matter.
Once he was forced to play layers of fear by Grimora and ended up genuinely enjoying it. The visuals were great, especially when things started to warp.
Then he was forced to play minecraft by the other Scrybes.
He found the enchantments interesting, as well as the ender. However due to being shit at video games and the dumbass twins (Leshy and P03) being unhelpful and Grimora being offline, he hasn’t managed to get to the ender dragon.
“Everyone. I require assistance and resources. I need to find eyes of ender to continue and I do not have to necessary resources to retrieve them myself.”
“Sorry I do not know what that is.”
“Lol, noob. I’m not helping by choice.”
“…”
Then several days later.
“Hello, sorry. I do not have anything to spare.”
P03
As mentioned in a previous headcanon post, they prefer to play games that make them feel productive, or that are challenging.
Other games not mentioned included Hollow knight and Minecraft.
With Hollow knight, they got pissed off at gameplay and were shit at first. But out of spite, they tried to get every achievement available and got them all within 4 days.
They hated god seeker mode with a vengeance.
But god was it worth beating it. He got bragging rights for a fairly unknown game.
In minecraft, they commit arson or they hack into Leshy’s world to kill his pets.
They find it funny because Leshy gets attached to his pets, even though they aren’t real.
The fool holds Stampy style dog burials.
Despite often being the murderer Leshy always invites them to the funerals.
They still attend to pay their respects… and to commit arson again.
“We have assembled here today, to pay our respects to one of the best boys of minecraft. My wolf Jeremiah. He-“
“Boo you whore.-“ *Pulls out flint and steel.*
“P03 stop disrespecting the grave.”
“Let the machine. This is more interesting.”

My thoughts on Inscryption
Just finished the game! Thoughts below :D Contains spoilers
These are my personal opinions only, please keep that in mind. People have different likes and preferences. :D
I fell in love with act one of this game instantly, almost within the first few seconds. Mysterious cabin, mysterious host, and a mysterious card game with seemingly sentient cards that feels the pain of being sacrificed.
I finished the entire game very quickly. I think it took less than a week and about 15 hours. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Though I have to say my love for act 1 heavily outweighs all the other parts. I think it’s the mystery of it, with a hint of something occult and meta.
Act 2 is... it exists. The great part is that it introduces a lot of lovable characters like the lonely wizard. But top down 8bit games is not an aesthetic that I enjoy. The card game itself heavily carried this part for me but I still found it a bit boring. And if act 2 was a standalone game, I would not be playing it.
I enjoyed all the boss fights in act three. and the mechanics are really fun to explore. I love meta games, but I do enjoy subtlety a lot more, maybe a hint here and there, sprinkled throughout. Where something is not quite right, where the characters in the game suggests that they know something they shouldn’t, are more sentient than they let on - like in act 1.
Though D.Mullins’ style is a lot more overt, which is not really my thing. I guess it’s because meta games and ARGs are kind of saturated now, where the element of surprise and unexpectedness is gone. And in recent years I had consumed a lot of brilliant ARGs and meta-media, so the novelty of it is gone for me. Like a magic trick being revealed. Because of this, the later parts of inscryption felt quite scripted. Not fully immersive? and I felt no sense of urgency while playing.
If act 1 was longer, more fleshed out, and a standalone game, it would have made inscryption my favourite game of all time - so I am really happy that the dlc exists. But the entire story, and act 2&3 just doest really do it for me. The ending of the game is nice tho! Really emotional. Personally it would have been perfect if Leshy was the last to go.
Overall it’s still a very enjoyable game!! I’ll give it a solid 7/10 and had recommended it to most of my friends. Again, please remember that these are my personal opinions. People have diverse taste and preferences! Thanks for reading and hope y’all have a good day! :D

15 Underrated E3 2021 Games Not Enough People Are Talking About
https://ift.tt/3vGBozn
Despite being a somewhat quiet year for the show, E3 2021 was filled with so many new titles and updates to previously announced major projects that it’s hardly a surprise that many smaller games featured during the show ultimately went overlooked and ended up being somewhat underrated.
Yet, this is so much more than a list of games that let us celebrate little studios and individual developers. At a time when Covid-19 production delays threaten to push so many major games into 2022 and beyond, these 15 titles (and so many more) could end up working their way into upcoming game of the year conversations just as they remind us that new ideas aren’t dead: they’ve just gone indie.
From wizards with guns and spiritual Thief sequels to cosmic horror punk RPGs and escape room deck builders, these are the 15 underrated E3 2021 games that not enough people are talking about.
15. Wizard With a Gun
You’re going to see a number of Devolver Digital games on this list, but few E3 titles from any publisher or developer made as good of a first impression as developer Galvanic Games’ Wizard With a Gun.
Described as an “online cooperative sandbox survival game,” Wizard With a Gun looks like a blend of Don’t Starve and Enter the Gungeon. Aside from the incredible name, the thing that stands out most about this game is the ability to combine magic and guns to craft some truly wild weapons. Interestingly, it may actually be possible to push your experiments too far and craft something that will hurt you more than your enemies.
14. Gloomwood
I’m a huge fan of developer New Blood Interactive (probably best known for 2018 horror shooter DUSK), and Gloomwood could just be their best game yet.
Gloomwood is a stealth survival horror game that, in many ways, effectively serves as the Thief sequel fans have been begging for. The game’s Steam demo showcases its tremendous potential, but the title’s E3 2021 extended gameplay preview suggests that the best is yet to come.
13. Replaced
There’s a good chance that you actually saw this game considering that it was featured fairly prominently during Xbox’s E3 2021 show, but it’s pretty much impossible to give this project enough love.
While most people are (understandably) focusing on Replaced’s wonderful pixel art visuals, the few glimpses of action gameplay that we see in the title’s debut trailer suggest that this is going to be so much more than an artist showcase.
12. Bear and Breakfast
Bear and Breakfast was actually quietly revealed last year, but I’m more than happy to use its brief E3 2021 appearance as an excuse to hype up this wonderfully wholesome game with a potentially dark twist.
Bear and Breakfast presents itself as a kind of sim/builder game starring colorful and friendly woodland creatures, but both trailers we’ve seen so far suggest that there’s something darker at play that only reveals itself as you expand your cabin empire and dive deeper into the forest.
11. Harold Halibut
Somewhere between a Wallace and Gromit cartoon and a Wes Anderson movie lies the weird and wonderful Harold Halibut.
This stunningly beautiful project may just win you over with its stop motion visuals alone (which were handcrafted in real life and digitally scanned into the game), but it’s Harold Halibut’s classic adventure gameplay that could prove to be its best feature.
10. Lake
Lake is another one of those games that we actually heard about before E3 2021, but this is one of those projects that just keeps looking better every time we see it.
If you can get past its Hallmark movie premise (a young woman leaves her big city job to return to her small town home and deliver mail), you’ll find that Lake’s large world, branching storylines, and diverse cast of characters may just make it one of the most compelling narrative experiences on the horizon.
9. The Anacrusis
The most logical reason more people weren’t talking about The Anacrusis after Xbox’s E3 2021 show is that the multiplayer co-op FPS was arguably upstaged by two bigger, somewhat similar titles: Back 4 Blood and Redfall.
Were it not for those titles, I suspect that more people would have instantly fallen for this ‘70s sci-fi-inspired shooter with roguelike and dungeon master elements. The Anacrusis promises to offer hours of replayability, which should make it a perfect addition to the Game Pass library.

8. Loot River
I understand if your brain is wired to ignore the mention of another roguelike dungeon crawler, but Loot River has already found some ways to distinguish itself from some considerable competition.
The highlight of this game so far is undoubtedly its level manipulation mechanics which add a compelling puzzle element to what may otherwise be a more standard entry into the genre. Having said that, even as a standard genre entry, Loot River looks like a lot of fun.
7. Atomic Heart
Atomic Heart is another one of those games that weirdly almost suffered from its prominent place in the Xbox E3 2021 showcase as it was flanked by larger titles that garnered most of the attention.
However, nearly every aspect of this game we’ve seen so far is, at the very least, compelling. Atomic Heart’s physics and power-based shooter gameplay looks like a blast, but it’s the game’s alternate 1950s Soviet Union setting and Fallout vibes it gives off that really has us intrigued.
6. Death Trash
Speaking of Fallout, you probably think that The Outer Worlds 2 and Fallout 76 are the E3 2021 games that will come closest to offering a proper new Fallout experience. However, Death Trash may just be the game that realizes the potential of so many of the little things that make that franchise great.
This cosmic horror punk rock action RPG so perfectly captures the spirit of classic games like the original Fallout titles and Shadowrun that it’s hard to look at it and not wonder how it was possibly assembled by a single developer. This labor of love should absolutely be on your wishlist.
5. Sifu
There just aren’t enough martial arts video games in the world. I’ll never understand why that’s the case, but it’s just one of those sad facts of life.
While Sifu impressed us when it debuted during a PlayStation broadcast earlier this year, the game’s E3 2021 gameplay trailer ensured it will stay on our radars. Sifu’s intense melee fights and environmental interactions could just make it the go-to experience for starved martial arts fans everywhere.
4. Demon Throttle
Recent years have gifted us with a number of notable retro action games, and Demon Throttle looks more than ready to join the ranks of exceptional experiences like Shovel Knight and The Messenger.
This top-down co-op shooter is currently garnering attention for its physical-only release strategy, but it’s the game’s chaotic action and outlandish humor that will really make you want to add it to your shelf.
3. Inscryption
The deck builder genre has offered some of the most quietly compelling video game experiences in recent years, but I’m honestly not sure if I’ve ever seen a deck builder as intriguing as Inscryption.
The creator of 2016’s bizarre and wonderful Pony Island brings us this strange little game that combines elements of the deckbuilding genre with escape rooms and psychological horror. I can’t imagine how all of those incredible flavors are going to be mixed together into something cohesive, which honestly makes me that much more excited to see what this game is all about.
2. Trek to Yomi
If Ghost of Tsushima didn’t quite give you a full dose of your Kurosawa-inspired video game fix, then you have to check out what Trek to Yomi promises to offer.
Trek to Yomi’s black-and-white visuals and samurai setting are obviously welcome Kurosawa callbacks, but it’s the way the gameplay references everything from Limbo and Mark of the Ninja to Bushido Blade that instantly shot this one near the top of our shortlist of underrated E3 2021 games more people should be talking about.
1. Immortality
With Her Story, Telling Lies, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Sam Barlow has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting and daring writers in gaming. Now, Barlow returns with E3 2021’s most underrated and overlooked game, Immortality.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Granted, we don’t know much about Immortality, but between the intriguing (if vague) premise that sees you explore three lost films starring a now missing actress and Barlowe’s outstanding track record, there’s no world in which fans of story-driven games won’t want to keep a close eye on this one.
