It's so amazing to realize just how broken every clique is. They're divided, even within each other. Because they all want something different, they're forced into their roles because they were born into it, like the preps, or their friends are that way, so they have to be too. It is not fun being the odd one out, especially in bullworth. There's so much happening with the fear of being ostracized in this game that shines so fucking well but it's so so subtle,,,,
One of the prime examples I CAN think about is the preps
Justin especially, I talk about him alot but it's obvious he doesn't wanna be a prep. He has many other interests and is genuinely a good student, sure his tastes are expensive and he's just as stuck up as the other preps but we can't be for sure for sure that he isn't faking it like the rest??? He seems to be at his happiest discussing Greek culture and compliments Jimmy, sincerely, on his features being "pleasantly Grecian."
He loves sports and comments on wanting to ally with the jocks and that he doesn't understand why Derby opposes the idea. He doesn't fundamentally understand why everyone's so divided. Why can't they enjoy themselves?? Sure, they're slummish and dumb but they're real, and they love doing what they do as much as anyone else, and Justin wants a taste of how that feels. Freedom.
I love love love knowing that clique members wanna be a part of different cliques or want to he friends with someone from a different clique or want to date someone from a different clique and they aren't allowed to because of how that would ruin their reputation, their cliques and the person/people they want to be with.
Jimmy was a godsend, and I think a lot more students should have helped him. Like one from each clique that had the desire of wanting to befriend other people from different cliques, they could be little spies. But it also shows how devoted they are to their clique members cause they've been through this too much and can't risk it if it doesn't work, and it almost doesn't!! I LOVE THIS GAME!!!@

You know what? I'm really fucking tired.
I'm really fucking tired that, when it comes to producing medias, women are held at higher morality standards than men, and so are their female consumers.
I'm really fucking tired that we can't just enjoy shit without someone piping up with the MoRaL qUeStIoNs of what we're consuming and/or producing.
The Barbie movie comes out? It wasn't feminist nor intersectional enough. Its feminist message was 10 years out of date. Saying that Barbie is everything while Ken is just Ken mysandrist.
A dark romance book with a taboo couple is published? We didn't consider the implications of their relationship dynamic. We are supporting pedophilia/abuse/rape/whatever else.
Fanfiction as a whole? Supports bad morals. Moronic. Homophobic in its very nature, and mysandrist too because we have headcanons that emasculate men. Something to make fun of.
Why do men get to have their Walter White's, turn them into their personal superheroes and their "omg, he's just like me" but god forbid women say "What Amy Dunne did was wrong, but I get what brought her there"?
Why do men get to have their stupid, mindless fun, while we're here in the fucking trenches even for hobbies?
They get to have their Terrifier saga and their Barbarian* and their Mia Goth shooting a porn movie and then running from a serial killer without her top on**, but god forbid we don't overanalyze the structure and content of whatever dumb YA saga is currently trendy so that people know we enjoy it only ironically because we can't enjoy something dumb simply because it's dumb and entertaining.
Just let us enjoy our bullshit without constantly overpicking it. Not everything has to have morals, sometimes we can just enjoy stupid shit.
(This rant might've been inspired by a post I saw on Reddit of a girl who broke up with her boyfriend because she found out that he had a whole ass groupchat with his friends dedicated to sharing the link of her fanfics so they could make fun of her and would send her fucking hate comments too.)
*Barbarian was clearly inspired by the Josef Frizl case. You know, the one about the monster who trapped his own daughter in the basement and raped her for 27 years, forcing her to go through 7 births. In the movie, the result of these incestuous acts is a monster-like creature with superhuman strength and the brain of a peanut that has to be murdered so that the main character can go on with her life, because what's scarier than victims of rape?
**"Oh, but I enjoyed X!" Good, but that's not my point! I can assure you that, when the concept for the movie was pitched, in the section dedicated to "What audience does this product target?" the word "woman" was not mentioned once. It's a product made by men for men that women have taken a liking to.

Hi there! You’re the person who made me love Peanut/Tad. How exactly did your journey start with these two? Thanks in advance! <3
nonnie!! dear!!
first of all, thank you so much for this answer!! i'm so happy i inspired you into loving them, they're special to me in ways i can hardly express <3
i'll admit, it started... quite by chance, actually?? i was just listening (again!!) to the compilation of all tad's quotes and i realized that. he mentioned peanut twice. which isn't a lot but if you consider that most characters really don't mention other characters more than once unless it's important. it was odd. (it probably wasn't but i Like to Overanalyze Things). also bc one of them haas him outright planning to plot against peanut, so it was intriguing to think about it.
then, exactly about that post, a tumblr user (that has now been deactivated, but i still think of them very fondly) texted me in the dms to suggest some motivations. we started talking from there about tad and peanut and really went on analyzing a lot of interesting perspective and aspects, of their characters and everything surrounding each of them. we found ourselves discussing the motifs, the themes and so forth.
then i guess these aspects of their characters kept going around in my head like screensaver icons and well. that one post i made in june 2022 is the first recorded memory that i have of imagining them as a ship (mentioned it in the tags).
i think i started planning cockroaches will inherit the earth in september, in a very… particular time of my life. then it went through some changes and it became the story that is up on ao3 now. i'm currently planning more, of course!!
i think that the thing is. there are many of their themes, of their personality maybe, that i kind of… relate a lot to?? and they are so similar on a fundamental level. they both have these expectations of what they're supposed to be; but they do not know what those are- it's just. high expectations. in tad's case, reaching the top of the preps hierarchy; in peanut's case, being loves totally and univocally by johnny. but what they feel they have to be to reach those goals is so uncertain, so undefined, that they will only ever know they aren't good enough. that they are the problem; the exception.
but finding each other, realizing this perpetual feeling, only makes each of them realize that both of them can't be the exception- meaning the rule didn't exist in the first place. that they couldn't reach that impossible goal because it didn't exist; that they couldn't find happiness because they were looking in the wrong direction.
at the end of the day, i think, they're a tale about getting better. about realizing one's inherent worth as a human being. about realizing that they were stuck in a grave of their own making; they just needed a hand to grip to drag them up. and they found each other- because they understand each other.
it's also that- that they don't need long, tiring explanations to figure out each other's needs, because they find each other in themselves. something something finding solace in the unsaid so that what is said can only have a wondrous and heavy meaning, learning to love oneself through the mirror of the other.
they're all about healing after all. i think that is something i feel so deeply about them tbh
#thank you so much for the ask anon!! for real. im glad you love them too i hope i can come across some fanwork of yours sometime. it will#be wonderful undoubtedly <3#bully#canis canem edit#bully scholarship edition#peanut romano#tad spencer

Look, all I'm saying is that nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gives the Peanuts Series enough credit.
Not only are there several quotable and relatable lines from the comics and the specials, but the characters are extremely deep and are philosophical...AND THESE ARE KIDS.
I feel like nobody makes this more clear than Charlie Brown.
He's constantly questioning life, always going to Lucy's Psychiatric Booth for advice, only to be given some excuse by Lucy.
That little twerp...
And I may be overthinking this, but when you consider how much Charlie has been through such as getting bullied by Lucy, losing Baseball Games, and overall just...life kicking him down, picking him back up and kicking him down again, adding along with the fact that he's almost always questioning something,, you honestly have to wonder...
Is Charlie Brown depressed??
No, I'm not making a theory, if I did we'd be here for hours, this is a legitimate question I want to touch on for a second.
When you consider the fact that you're doing your absolute best, and you feel as though you're finally about to succeed, and then life just says, "Nah Fam" right when you're about to succeed, how would you feel? I am GENUINELY curious how you would feel about this.
Probably sad, right?? Now, let's add onto this.
This happens often, you keep getting bullied at school (or by a certain person who messes with you and you just go with it), and you have to constantly ask your friends questions about life as a whole.
...Yeah, not the best life, I'd say.
But the thing about Charlie Brown is...he never exactly gives up.
Sure, he may have thought about it at some points, but he keeps trying.
Loses a Baseball Game? He always tries harder in the next game.
Can't Fly A Kite? He keeps trying to fly it.
Falls for The Football Gag? He gets up and dusts himself off and tries again everytime Lucy gives him the offer, HE. KEEPS. TRYING.
And honestly, it's a good moral to live by.
Maybe life is just kicking you down nonstop. Maybe it feels like the world's against you.
...And to be frank, it is, but that's the point.
Keep trying.
I know this is cringe. I know this is cheesy.
I know I'm overanalyzing a piece of media. I know that I am overanalyzing a cartoon character, yes, I know, but I feel the need to get this godforsaken message across.
Keep Trying.
Life is bound to kick you down whenever it has the chance. Times may seem dire.
Keep Trying. Don't give up.
Go out and learn how to fly that kite. Win a Baseball Game or two. And even if you lose...
Keep Trying.
Get up, dust yourself off, and Try Again. Try again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
You'll succeed one day.

Hi I'm the same person who said that Nick has misophonia and sorry for not explaining what misophonia is I just thought it would be too long to type. Anyway I feel like I should explain a little except I had no reasoning but now I overanalyzed every one of his lines
In the woods right before he gets bitten and when gathering firewood Abigail says she hears something and he's kinda just like "it's probably nothing" and me personally I use a thing to help with misophonia where I tell myself that noises that startle/agitate me aren't a threat and I'm fine so maybe he's used to thinking like that?
Could definitely just be because he was scared or something, but when holding his breath when the boar was sniffing him he was kind of flinching and slightly moving his head away, which is something I do when noises (like a boar snorting right by his ear) and then he got away from the boar as quickly as he could
And I would present more evidence but that would be too long, so finally he accepted Jacob's challenge for the Peanut Butter Butter Pops and while that's most likely because he was trying to impress Jacob and be like him it could also be because he knew that Jacob eating them would be a trigger? Idk all of these are a stretch but whatever
I love that you relate to Nick so much that's really cool ☺️
all that totally makes sense! I'm sorry I don't know more about it so I can offer a better answer but No need to bring me evidence I'm already on board 🥰
Nothing's a stretch in fandom, you do what you want with these funky little characters.

Lord, people are amazing.
I've been working on a idea for a full original cast fic for the Jujutsu Kaizen universe that was interesting enough to prompt me to try to write in English for the first time, and my overanalyzer ass been struggling with basically every aspect of the writing process for almost a whole month.
I find myself overwhelmed by dialogue, character creation, paying attention to the gigantic list of notes steming from my desired theme (economical inequality, I've found, is not exactly what one would call an relaxing topic to write about) and
God.
It just makes me that much more amazed by the hard work of the authors from the stories that inspired me to actually try. I mean, just to name a few:
@butter--peanut "Kamui Blues" probably deserves an entire literary analysis of its own. It makes full use of almost every strength of writing in the format of fanfiction that I can think of. Freedom of form and of plot, from the amazing way they draw the full potencial of characters and relationships only barely touched upon on canon, to the incredible way they hinge and twist the plot again and again, making the entire experience feel fresh and enticing from start to finish of every chapter. It's just. Man, it's so good it actually feels more canon than canon. Incredible.
@clefairytea "Peaks and Valleys" gives life to characters that barely speak more than a few lines (none, in the case of Red) during the entire game, and it baffles me how someone can create so much from so little. They really didn't need to go that hard, but they worldbuild and fill holes in the source material, all while creating an engaging and believable love story. And okay, from a personal standpoint, the way they handle Red's autism and Blue's insecurities is so delicate and relatable that it actually made me cry. Multiple times.
Mortigaunt's "Dragon from ash" made me feel things I thought I would never feel again after finishing a Song of Ice and Fire. They make the world feel alive and infinitely complex, locations feel lived in, the magic system fills you with curiosity, there is actual honest to god politics going on in the background, with so many players and pieces moving and wow, I really didn't expect to finally be interested in Skyrim 10 years after its release, but this fic could manage it.
I'm just making this post because I needed to put this in writing or I would blow up, because actually partaking in the creative process has made me SO appreciative of my favorite authors work.
Fiction has the power to truly inspire people even in their worst, and right now I really am just filled with gratitude for everything that creators have given me. To everyone that i mentioned and to all that i didn't:
Thank you guys, you are amazing <3
#writeblr#writing#naruto#jujutsu#pokemon#originalshipping#skyrim#i guess#fanfiction#god i hope i finish this fic before it finishes me

I think we all know how out of hand, toxic, and taken too seriously vs debates can be. Still though, what metrics do YOU take into account when saying X character/franchise could beat Y character/franchise? Given these fights are fiction is it boring to overanalyze when all it comes to hand waving?
Since Guilty Gear characters are typically superpowered or even "overpowered", my metrics typically center mainly in the realm of Guilty Gear's own Universe, that is to say, it's "based on the real world, albeit slightly tweaked".
GG itself in terms of timeline/events is literally an alternate reality compared to this one to begin with, but is still based in a lot of ways on this world, so in that sense it is very much grounded in real world applicability, even if the end result has unrealistic characters.
Still, the "lore" of GG, is give-or-take an expansion on what already exists as lore in this world as well... fairy tales, urban legends, mythology, ghost stories, hidden history, that sort of thing is still viable to an extent.
When talking about "other worlds", you first have to know the rules by which these other worlds even operate. For example, BlazBlue's world is set in multiple timelines of possible events, so it's "easy" for other events to intervene in BlazBlue's world. This makes BlazBlue a realm that is "easy" to crossover with other realms.
Mortal Kombat is similar to BlazBlue in that respect, because of the nature of Outworld.
With Guilty Gear, the opposite is more true, because of the way Timelines cannot be intervened upon without damaging the current timeline. So by that logic, it's much harder for other universes to intervene on a world like Guilty Gear's.
In that sense, Guilty Gear is more akin to the Fate/Stay Night series, in that while there might be different timelines and events, none of those can intervene with one another... but that doesn't mean such events don't occur, just that they almost never do (like with Melty Blood or Garden of Sinners).
You could also say that Guilty Gear is a "fixed timeline" as a result, meaning that certain key events will always happen in a certain order... or happen in a certain specific period or setting.... much like the Samurai Shodown series. In Samurai Shodown, everything is laid out in a specific period or event, certain things occur and certain historical individuals are involved.
That's pretty much how events take place.
Now, while you could say that Samurai Shodown is connected with other games like Last Blade and King of Fighters/Fatal Fury, it's more accurate to say that those games are connected to SamSho, and not the other way around.
A more accurate way to phrase this: some games are one-way references, while other games are self-referential, meaning they reference nothing except the content they are known for, unless a crossover is made possible.
Some games are crossover friendly, like Tekken 7, while others are not, like The Witcher Series.
Even if a character from the Witcher appears in Soul Calibur VI, that does not mean a Soul Calibur character will appear in the Witcher (in fact the latter is even less likely to happen due to author ownership rights).
And while that makes crossover fans sad, that is just a sad truth that needs to be accepted.
Some creative works are in a "state" where the author does NOT want them tampered with, and treated as an isolated work.
In a sense, Guilty Gear has been this for much of its tenure... and with good reason, since much of the work is very much referential to Music content as its source of inspiration.
Rather than say Guilty Gear is "crossover friendly" in terms of other games/characters, it is "crossover friendly" in terms of Music and Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Thrash, etc...
So in summary, Peanut Butter and Jelly don't always make a good sandwich, and Chocolate doesn't always go with Peanut Butter, but in some cases it still can. I recommend some Milk to reduce the thick aftertaste (i.e. broaden your taste as much as you can for other possibilities if not all are viable).
Also, Power Levels are NOT a static concept, as character development is a real thing, just as fighting in an organic transforming/evolving fighting style is a real thing. Some of the most creative character writing/design will reflect this.
And by that respect, fighting games are NOT a perfect platform to portray battles based in reality.
What IS "real" is the creative effort put in to each and every work, which should be respected for their own individual merits, not just in crossovers, but as their own individual works, written, programmed, or otherwise.

Hello, I like your art and writing. I sent you my overanalyzing thought about Ash x Go (I don't remember where) please read it *blush*
Thank you!! And ahhh yeah I did read it I just forgot to respond, my attention span is the size of a peanut lmao
But it was really cute! Ash and Gou have a really great relationship in general, I think! They compliment each other a lot. Gou’s definitely one of the few characters Ash really clicks with

Oh, it's so playful sounding for a guy who is about to blast a video game warehouse after attacking guards with a giant cymbal banging gorilla and some jump rope bolas. I love it. XD
Honestly, I think the moniker of "QuackerJack" is really supposed to be the equivalent of saying he's "Nutty/Foolish Guy", since "Jack" is really a common alias and name choice for characters with "mysterious" histories or what have you.
And in addition to "Quack" being a commonly used name basis for some Disney Duck characters, as it's the noise a duck makes, Quack also refers to someone who is something of a "trickster", a "charlatan", "flimflammer", dishonest person who may be impersonating a doctor of sorts, a con artist, or simply put:
((Your English is very good, I wouldn't have suspected otherwise))
That one time QuackerJack impersonated an authorized psychiatrist, and many other times he tried to be tricky tricky tricky
"Jack" is pretty much on the same level as "John", really. Simple, everyman name, an anybody.
His name is also a play on the term "Crackerjack", which really means "this is some real good stuff", which was probably the intent for his toy company naming choice for what I assumed was the initial quality of his products. That's also the name of a sweet caramel coated popcorn and peanuts snack (apparently credited as the "first junk food") that you can get that usually comes with a prize inside the container (there used to be toys, but now it's usually stickers or little jokes on paper), and has a bit of a circus-y feel to the presentation, so... it fits I guess?
Of course, I'm on the Spectrum (I have Aspergers Syndrome), so I could just be overanalyzing this, but as far as I know, English word play is either blatant or too complicated for most everyone to really get unless they're in the In Crowd
((And upon some reasearch, I've found that Crackerjack snacks are replacing the tangible prizes with codes to play games on a phone app now, so life imitates art, I'm laughing a bit))

Alright..I don’t know how many people in the DWD fandom even bothered to listen to the other dubs, but since I grew up with the German dub and also watched the English one a lot in the last weeks I just need to get something off of my chest.
It’s no secret this maniac jester was my all time fav since the show aired in 1992 in Germany. (I was cute 5 years old. :3c ) So naturally I was curious of his original voice. And boi…nothing couldn’t prepare my ears. I remember my first thought was “omg…boy got balls” because his voice sounded deeper than I was used to.
But after comparing both voices a lot I have to say their voice pitch overall isn’t that much different in the end. Yes, the English voice is indeed a bit deeper but I noticed that Phillip Moog (German voice actor) played more with the tone pitches than Michael Bell (English voice actor) did. And that’s at least imho why Quackerjack sounds far more “squawky” in the dub. In particular when he voices Mr. Bananabrain. (If someone wants an example I’d glady show one.)
But it’s not only the pitch of the voices which makes some notable differences in those two versions, it’s also the emotions the voice actors put in. I really like the fact that Moog managed to not change QJs character at all which sometimes can happen with bad voice acting in dubs. So Quackerjack still sounds like the crazy toy maker he is, if not even more crazy. But there is still that one thing why I prefer Moogs voice acting a bit over Bells I’m not saying this because of nostalgia or patriotic feelings and it’s when QJ get’s angry. When he says there is “a chance to take the Whiffle doofus out of the game permanently” he sounds angry and annoyed…. but then there is the German dub… :D
But listen for yourself:
youtube
He’s going to rip a bitch apart…
In the end I honestly love both versions. Both voice actors did so great and I love how they give me different feelings about the exact same scene. ♥
