Mhh... this isn't like meant as... some deep criticism of this or that, it's really just talking about my personal feelings on something. It's not saying what other people should be doing
For me though, I actually really don't like to be asked my pronouns. Not in a "you should just know" kinda way, but in a I'd literally prefer no one ask and get it wrong than ask me. Just kinda not something I feel like talking about... just kinda... don't like giving out information about myself and I'd rather people assume whatever they want
Again, nothing deeper here. Just saying that for me the time someone asked me my pronouns I just kinda dodged it, and when they asked again it was uncomfortable but gave em an answer. Thinking on this cause I saw a video where next to someone's name it listened their pronouns and it's like... cor blimey I wouldn't care for that, frankly even giving out my name to people is a bit much, innit?
More and more I just don't like giving away information on me. It's like some kinda fae mindset of like "not giving your name" or something, except for no concrete reason, just don't like mhh...
Maybe it's linked to how descriptivist I am. Like the number of labels I wear are next to zero. Don't really feel like identifying with this or that movement, rather let my actions and ideas stand on their own instead of under a banner, and so maybe it's like that with the pronouns

Heyyy! I am in need of some advice. So um I've been recovering since January and had my ups and downs but was doing fairly well in the grand scheme of things (no longer counting calories, began to be able to eat food made by someone else, not weighing myself nor measuring myself anymore, though I still habitually body-checked myself and had trouble drinking anything containing sugar).
But I got new medicine for ADHD about two weeks ago and one of the side-effects I'm having is complete loss of appetite and and lowered sense of hunger signals, along with stomach pain. I already messaged my psychiatrist about it, but she usually answers in 7 working days and until I hear back from her I should likely keep taking the medication. The problem is that the appetite loss has managed to trigger my eating disorder. Not only is it very hard for me to eat because everything tastes like shit and I feel like puking whenever I force myself to eat, I'm beginning to see food as disgusting and bad. I feel guilty whenever I eat anything other than a salad, it's getting hard not to weigh myself, and my head is telling me that this loss of appetite is a great opportunity to lose some weight.
I don't know how to manage until I hear back from my psychiatrist. She also doesn't know about my eating disorder, and I would prefer not to tell her, because she sees eating disorders as something only women have, and even though I've been on testosterone for 2 years now, she still doesn't believe me that I'm trans, and telling her that I have an ED would only convince her that I'm actually a woman (and unfortunately going to a different psychiatrist is not an option).

I absolutely feel you in regards to the ADHD medication, I've been on multiple ADHD meds that absolutely screwed up my appetite and stomach in general. Everyone thinks an ADHD diagnosis is, like, a sort of weed card for their favorite recreational drugs, but when you HAVE to take them, those drugs are ROUGH.
The first thing to do, I think, is try to take a step back and address the disordered-eating thoughts. Think about all the care you invested in yourself when you started making progress. Ask yourself if you want to lose that progress and take your ED along on the healing and self-discovery journey you're on. It can be very hard to separate your symptoms from your ED, but just keep reminding yourself that that's exactly what they are - symptoms. Your lack of hunger or your stomach pain don't make the food "bad." You're having symptoms.
Perhaps you could try setting alarms reminding you to eat. You could also utilize other cues to engage intuitive eating. For example, are you shaky, tired, irritable, feeling "off"? Try using that feeling as a cue to have some food. Prep things that are easy to consume, since food consumption has become such a chore. Fruit/yogurt smoothies might be a good bet, since it's easy to get all your nutrients in and all you have to do is drink.
You mentioned that the food tastes bad to you recently. Is it a side effect of the med? That would be worth mentioning to the psychiatrist, and asking about trying a different med if your body doesn't adjust soon. But if you need to in the meantime, just eat whatever foods are tasting good to you right now, if any do. Having food that tastes good is a massive step in repairing your relationship with food and eating. Perhaps add a multivitamin to your diet if you haven't already, though, just so that your nutritional needs will be supplemented. Remember to reward yourself for managing to get down food if it tastes off. Tell yourself you did a good job sustaining your health through hard symptoms. Take the time to give yourself some appreciation!
When you do work with your psychiatrist, try communicating in terms that the psychiatrist will prioritize while subtly using gender-affirming language for yourself. For example, instead of saying that your ED is triggered, you could explain that the stomach pain is preventing you from eating enough, or that the hunger cues make it hard for you to know how much to eat to keep yourself strong. Definitely tell her about the bad taste, too. Perhaps you could ask to switch meds or go to a lower dose, if you feel that's an option for you?I'm sorry you have to do this level of work just to get the psychiatrist to work with you, but do what you need to do.
I recently had my own experience with an ADHD med adjustment doing this to me. I spent a whole day accomplishing so many tasks while completely forgetting to eat. By the end of the day I was still going strong when I realized I felt so bad, something was wrong in my nervous system, and I felt so anxious and shaky and nothing seemed to fix it. I couldn't understand it. It took forever for me to get around to making myself a snack, but when I finally ate it, my symptoms were gone within seconds. I looked back over the course of my day and went "Ohhhhh...." These meds are no joke!

Oh no, I hope your friend feels better soon! That might have been me, I think I posted about it here a few times and there have definitely been twitter threads.
Standard disclaimer stuff: I am not a doctor. What I found helped me might not help someone else. Long covid is kind of fucked up to deal with because it seems to hit everyone in different ways, in different areas, and months later something that wasn't a problem before can suddenly become one. The long haul groups talk about it as something that feels like it moves around the body, like a total shit gremlin.
The thing that helped me the most initially was joining the facebook groups with other people figuring shit out. This was back April/May for me but they're still very active and full of people sharing resources.
Survivor Corps is I think the big one and they've been the ones reaching out to media and doctors to try to gain some recognition with the medical community initially (as far as I know, all kind of a blur tbh). There's also a long covid group here, and if your friend searches for like, long covid + the country they're in there are usually more local/regional ones for resources closer to home too.
Because we don't really know what specific mechanism is triggering a lot of the long covid stuff yet, most of us are just treating symptoms. Some people have been diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and I don't know diddly squat about that but it might be something for your friend to look into. My whole thing has been inflammation and my immune system basically attacking itself because immune systems are both very complex and compellingly fucking stupid. Not to victim blame the immune system or anything.
What helped me depended on what was going wrong at the time, obv, but it means it's a long list.
This is just going to be a brain dump, sorry.
- I never had pneumonia. Mine started in my throat, probably damaged my vocal chords, but never turned into pneumonia. I still had shortness of breath, pressure in my chest, and my oxygen levels dropped. I could breathe but with great difficulty and described it to the EMTs as "breathing is like work." It took all of my energy and focus to breathe in enough. If you are that this point, ever, like, literally fucking ever, call an ambulance.
- Tylenol for a fever. 
- Blood thinners if necessary, I never had any but we know now that a lot of problems are blood clot-related. Tbqh my blood is more thin now than anything but I always had anemia and some sort of “your blood is too small actually?” problem and we don’t know why. I just bleed a lot and bruise easier now. 
- If they try to tell you it's anxiety or in your head or you're not that bed, tell them to go fuck themselves and go to the hospital. Get tested if you can. A lot of the problems long haulers ran into was that we got sick before tests were available, or we were talked into staying home by the emergency workers, and we never got tested. This opens the doors for doctors to tell you it's all in your head, psychological, anxiety, allergies, etc. Just. Go when you first feel sick if at all possible. Get tested before it turns into long covid. 
- I was not sure in the beginning what "shortness of breath" or "pressure" actually felt like, and it made me delay calling for an ambulance for a few days as well. For me, it felt like there was an elastic band of pressure around my lungs. I couldn't fully inhale. My diaphragm was fucked in ways I still don't understand. My lungs also felt heavy, like there was a weight on them or like my lungs themselves were too stiff to inhale. That all counts as pressure/tightness/shortness of breath. So does air hunger, or feeling like you want to be swallowing air.
- I know I'm being super obvious but seriously shortly before I got sicker, I hit up twitter to ask what "pressure" was supposed to feel like because I couldn't tell if what I had "counted."
- Breathing: lying on my stomach with my chest propped up by pillow, in bed helped. So did  pursed lip breathing: here.
- I was prescribed salbutamol initially, which did help with the worst of the wheezing and opened up some of my lungs so I could breathe easier. When I went to the ER again a couple months later, they gave me like 5x the usual dose and sent me home.
- I'm also taking Flovent/fluticasone twice a day for asthma maintenance.
- Histamines are a problem for a lot of people. Some develop a histamine intolerance, which can be helped by eating a low histamine diet.
- Antihistamines helped me the most. I was taking Allegra-D daily. Pepcid AC also helps, because it targets a different kind of histamine. There was such a run on Pepcid when this started that it was actually impossible to find in my area and I had to order some online. 
- I was recently prescribed Singulair and it has been life-changing this past week or so. As far as I know it's not really an antihistamine but blocks/inhibits a particular receptor involved in inflammation that comes into play when allergies do.
- Electrolytes. I don't know why, but my electrolytes are permanently fucked and too low now. If I don't go through like a litre of gatorade a day (or whatever, pick your brand of supplements), I am even more tired and brain foggy than usual. Helps a lot.
- Inflammation is a major problem all around. Sometimes I go for the naproxen or advil and it will help any really major acute flare-up now (like, I can feel when my gallbladder is getting inflamed and about to spasm and I can cut it off sort of), but mostly it's also daily maintenance. I take cucurmin and black pepper daily.
- Other supplements: vitamins A & D, a multivitamin, NAC.  
- CBD oil. This worked wonders for me for a lot of the side-effects of covid, costochondritis and shingles pain especially.
- Diet. I mentioned the low histamine one above. Other people have had some success with a low inflammation diet. Some folks also have so many GI problems that they basically ate chicken and rice and slowly reintroduced foods to see what would trigger something. I appear to get super fucked by nightshades now, e.g. Alcohol is an absolute no. I had to cut caffeine for months because of my heart. (No caffeine/alcohol/red meat was my doctor's first and best advice for heart stuff at the time.)
- Speaking of the heart stuff, if your friend is dealing with that: electrolytes again. I have pedialyte freezies that I would suck on whenever heart palpitations started and it helped calm it down some. My heart was so, so fucked for months that whenever I ate or stood up or sat down it would hit like 140bpm and I had to spend an hour moving as little as possible or I'd just about pass out. There are a LOT of long-haulers now dealing with POTS and I can't really speak to what helps that in particular but if your heart is messing up at all: call a doctor. I still don't know how damaged my heart is from all of this because doctors and wait lists, etc. Get a jump on that.
- Insomnia was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had and I’ve had lifelong, “I’m awake for three days wee” insomnia. The Singulair knocks me right out at night, so that's a bonus, but there has not been a single night since getting sick where I didn't have to take something to help me sleep. I was on Zopiclone before getting sick, at least, but seriously talk to someone about insomnia if necessary. The sleep deprivation alone was making so many things worse.
- Brain fog? Brain fog. I don't have any or many answers for this. My short-term memory is wrecked and usually I'll remember something 2 weeks later, so I live my life on a 2-week lag now.
- Related to brain fog, fatigue. Don't fuck with it. Do not. Chronic Fatigue and Myalgic encephalomyelitis are both brought up often with long covid. I am dealing with it but don't know what to say about it yet because I haven't had a single doctor give a shit thus far. I've spoken to a relative who's an occupational therapist about it and her most helpful advice was about "energy envelopes," which is basically spoon theory. If you feel tired: stop. If you don't, or if you try to push through, we relapse hard and fast and you can pay for one day of walking 10 minutes too long with weeks of being stuck in bed. It's miserable. It will take longer to get back to normal. Some of us can exercise and feel amazing after; others are exercise intolerant and it wrecks them. (I feel best after like, 10 minutes of walking and sunshine right now, which is after months and months of being bedridden.)
- Treat mental exertion the same as physical. Doctors told me to drink Gatorade after mental work because it's still work, and it has helped a lot for whatever reason. It also helps to work on one thing at a time, take a break, switch gears, take a break, etc. I can't multitask anymore anyway.
- Eliminate whatever stressors you can. Stress will make everything worse. 
- It comes and goes. Every relapse was a bit shorter and a bit easier for me, so that now when I fuck up it's like 2-3 days instead of weeks, but it's a rollercoaster.
- It can be random as hell. For about two months my gallbladder just decided to up and die, basically, and we were talking about having it removed. And then it was fine. Hasn't bugged me again lately. I know I said it's symptom management, but it's also like... symptom chasing and trying to figure out what's happening every time the sun rises. This is also exhausting. Everything is exhausting.
- Brain shit. Some of us have serious trouble reading. Sentences swim together. Letters wouldn't turn into words. I took this as a Challenge and started reading children's books and then Animorphs again, like... slowly, as much as I could do without pushing it, and it's still not perfect or great but it was an okay place to start. Honestly the hardest part was the embarrassment and going from a PhD program to reading kids books, but. Do what you have to. Do what you can.
- Sticky notes and labelling things around the house so I could see them when I needed them. I am not fucking around when I say brain fog. I can open the fridge, know I have milk, know it is in the door, and literally not see it to find it. I will put the cream in the dishwasher. I will spin in circles in the kitchen remembering and forgetting and remembering why I’m there again. Sticky notes. Also: journals, index cards, write literally everything down if you need to remember something. Put it somewhere obvious. I like writing on the bathroom mirror for the important shit. (Don’t use lipstick.) 
- Unsurprisingly, a lot of us are struggling with anxiety and depression. Don't let doctors get it backward: it's not anxiety making us sick, it's being sick and ignored and fighting to be helped that's making our mental health worse. So many doctors tell us it's all in our head. I did not move across the country because I was too sick to take care of myself because of ~allergies~ or ~anxiety.~ Fuck off.
- So, so many people report that they relapse whenever they menstruate so if your friend is in that group, they might want to prepare to feel like fucking trash every 4 weeks no matter what they do. I don’t have any advice on this one, I’m sorry. There are a lot of people discussing it in the FB groups, though, and those are searchable for symptoms. 
- So... a tl;dr list of things that might help: anti-inflammatory diets, anti-histamine diets, pepcid AC, allegra or other allergy meds, vitamin A/D/E, multivitamins, electrolytes and gatorade, albuterol, fluticasone, zopiclone (or anything that helps with sleep), CBD oil, singulair, anti-nausea meds (buscopan), muscle relaxants (spasming gallbladder). Rest, so much rest, do not fuck with The Rest if you can help it. I also encourage just getting high and edibles as much as you can because it sure helped me chill out big time and I think was a big factor in my recovery, at least as far as helping me calm down and helping my heart were concerned.
- The actual most helpful part outside of what to take or do was other people. Friends would go out and get me things when I could not, including like, cat food deliveries and all. I had co-workers ready to step in to take over my work on days I could not. I had friends calling doctors because I was too tired to fight them or self-advocate. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say they helped save my idiot life this year. Literally. It's a lot to ask of anyone but it's also that level of support that some of us need, and there shouldn't be any shame in it. (I still feel bad about it anyway but what are you gonna do.)
Depending on where you live, some places are setting up long-haul covid clinics to help people. Reports are mixed: some demand you had a positive test even if you were sick before tests were available. Some people are getting a lot of help regardless. Some are being sent home and told not to come back anyway. It’s kind of a gamble right now but either way, there’s at least some medical recognition making headway now so my fingers are crossed.
Anyway you basically sound like a good bean and your friend is lucky to have you asking around. I have absolutely forgotten something at some point in here because, well, brain fog and no memory, but if you have any questions or want something clarified please just ask. Stay safe!

Early in my day today, I was still generally feeling like shit—until I took particular notice of how my joints were hurting a bit, which I’ve been learning to use as a reminder to take a vitamin D+calcium supplement (something Mom takes, but it’s an over-the-counter thing anyway so it’s fine for me to take too). My mental acuity is up, and I’m hurting less.
Also, I’ve been a bit gassy, making me wonder how taking a multivitamin may have led to that. My guess is that the chemical reactions that go on with my body making use of these vitamins and minerals happens to create some gaseous waste/byproduct. I’ve just never thought or heard of multivitamins leading to any amount of gassy-ness, but I haven’t been experiencing much of that until today. (To be clear, this isn’t the uncomfortable sort of intestinal gas that troubles me occasionally: just an unusual amount of toots and burps.)
I wonder if I could do better about listening to my body when it comes to taking these supplements when I need to, but, like, sooner. Once I remembered that these were things I could take, my body desperately let me know that it needed them. It might be a bit complicated with the multivitamin, since, most of the time, my body only really needs some of the vitamins/minerals, while the rest would be excessive and undesirable. At the least, the separate D+calcium supplement should be easier for my body to identify as something that I need.
Regarding that joint pain I mentioned, it’s a thing I’ve been dealing with more recently. Notably, my right knee has had a bit of pain occasionally for no discernible reason. Part of my issues may stem from a general lack of exercise, but I think I’m also vulnerable to chronic joint pain/issues due to being hyper-mobile—like, I can over-rotate my fingers and elbows in ways that make them seem a tad broken. I’ve at least seen brief mentions of that sort of thing come across my dash: from reblogs concerning certain types of chronic pain.
Despite feeling better, I wasn’t in any rush to be productive, which was nice. Instead, I spent my time reading a Webtoon that a friend recommended, Not So Shoujo Love Story (which has some nice things going on about it that I might write more about in the future), and repeatedly singing along to a song I’ve been obsessed with, “A Good Song Never Dies” by Saint Motel.

DOTW 9 - Start
With Hanji and Moblit at work so much, Eren had noticed a few things. Moblit was almost always exhausted when he came home, while Hanji almost always had way too much energy. Hanji was horrible at cooking and cleaning, so when he was home, Moblit was the one who did all the work. It didn't sit right with Eren. He was sitting at their dining table eating their food. He used their water and power and slept in their spare bed... and he paid nothing for all it all. He didn't like it. He wasn't used to it... but with the cast on his ankle, he couldn't find a new job. Without a job, he couldn't pay for his share of everything. So he started helping around the house. Just small jobs at first. Like doing his own washing, or stacking and emptying the dishwasher. When neither of the pair said anything, he took it to mean he was doing the right thing. With the chores being done, Moblit had more time to rest, and more time to be with Hanji, and that made him proud. Every morning he'd wait until the house was empty to start. He'd vacuum and mop, before cleaning through the kitchen and tackling the washing. He even managed to get the curtains down and wash them, surprised to find they were actually white and not the coffee colour they'd been when they'd gone into the machine. Sure, it was hard as fuck to manage the stairs with a full basket of washing and annoying cast on his leg, but it was worth it. The house felt bigger and brighter, it smelt like lemons and oranges, instead of the empty void left from scent cancelling spray, and he most of all, it kept his mind busy. Almost daily he'd text Marco, his friend wanted to catch up, but even with all the work he was doing around the house, Eren didn't feel like he had the right to invite Marco over. He still felt at times he was being too pushy and clingy. His anxieties getting the better of him, especially when he didn't hear from Levi again after they went shopping. He also didn't want to get too attached to the place, because Zeke had promised he'd return... not that his heart was listening to his head. In the apartment, he couldn't play his music too loud, but if Moblit wasn't on split shifts, he could have it as loud as he wanted. No one was there to judge his awful singing. No neighbours were banging on the door because he was being too loud. He'd missed music so much. It kept the demon at bay, and kept the memories from suffocating him. So he kept going.
Waking up later than normal, he went about his morning routine in the bathroom, before getting dressed to face the day. A small amount of concealer hiding the black bags that marred his face. He'd had nightmares the night before, and how he hadn't woken Hanji and Moblit, he had no idea. Grabbing his crutches, he headed downstairs.
Moblit was cooking breakfast as his limped in, while Hanji was sitting at the dining table. It was rare for them both to be home in the morning, and his stupid anxieties rose their ugly head
"Good morning, Eren. Come take a seat"
He swallowed hard. His first instinct was to run. It didn't matter that Hanji was smiling, he was sure she was about to yell at him. Limping over to the solid jarrah dining table, he slid into the seat closest to Hanji. He'd fucked up. He'd fucked up and now they were getting rid of him...
"Eren, are you alright?"
Nodding quickly, he pushed a fake smile to his lips
"Just a little sleepy"
"Aren't we all? Anyway, Moblit and I wanted to have a little chat with you"
Here it came. She was going to yell... he'd messed up. He shouldn't have cleaned the house. He should have stayed in his room, where he couldn't make trouble
"Moblit and I have been talking..."
Cutting her off, the words fell out before he could stop them
"I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have cleaned without asking. You've got every right to be mad... I mean... it's your house and I'm stranger... I didn't mean to make trouble for you"
"Huh. What? No. We're not mad"
"Y-you're not mad?"
"Hell no. If you want to clean the house, go for it. No. That's not what we wanted to talk about"
"It's not?"
"Moblit, are you mad Eren's been cleaning our house?"
Moblit snorted
"Nope. It's never looked or smelt better, and it's been a huge help having another set of hands around here"
"You're not going to yell?"
Hanji placed her hand on his
"Nope. We actually wanted to know if you'd like to make it an actual job. Not like a real job, but more like for pocket money?"

"Because you're cleaning our house, silly"
"You're letting me stay here... I can't pay rent or anything... I don't need payment"
"Sweetie, we didn't take you in so you'd do stuff for us. And we thought you might feel a little bit more independent if you had some income coming in"
"But you guys are the ones paying for everything. It's not cheap living here, even in the suburbs and there's food, water, power, rates, gas... then you've both got cars on top of the house costs"

Coming over from the kitchen, Moblit placed a plate stacked with pancakes down in front of him, and another plate down in front of Hanji
"Hanji, what have I told you about starting at the beginning?"
"I was getting there"

Moblit kissed Hanji's cheek fondly, returning to the kitchen to grab his own plate, while Eren stared down at his pancakes. He really wasn't used to having someone make him a breakfast like this
"You've got a scan booked at 11, if everything looks good, we can go ahead and take that cast off. I'm not making any promises, but the last scan looked really good"

Struck with the unexpected prangs of jealousy, Eren didn't know how he was supposed to act. He didn't understand relationships. He only understood behaving and doing what he was told. Zeke would kiss and hug him, let him sit in his lap as he fed him, but he was his brother so none of that counted. Stabbing his fork into the tower of pancakes, he blocked Hanji and Moblit from his mind.
The trip to hospital was kind of over before it really set in. His anxieties gripping his mind and not letting go. Hanji tried to soothe him, only for it to all go over his head. He couldn't concentrate. All he could think about was the scan. He was sure they were going to tell him he'd have wear the cast for the rest of his life and that he'd never dance again. So when he was told his scans were good, and that he getting itchy piece of shit cast off... He wanted to scream with happiness. After weeks of confined itchy smelly torture, his ankle was free! He wasn't free from crutches just yet, but fuck it felt good to have the cast off. Ruffling his hair, Hanji was all smiles as they walked back to her car. His ankle was a bit stiff, but it was barely noticed

I don’t remember what I did in 2021. Well, I guess I moved here. I learned the note names on the piano, though I could still stand to memorize them better. I learned some music theory concepts, even if I can’t put them into practice. I know intervals are a thing.  I think I’m more confident making phone calls and figuring official stuff out.  I think it was this year I got that binder and those blouses. Yay for fashion! ...unless the blouses were last year. No... they were this year right? Thinking of stuff that happened this year is hard. What was this year? Last year? Three years ago? How do I know?  Did I finish any stories this year, or was that all last year?  I started taking a multivitamin. Hopefully I’ll keep that up.
My misophonia has gotten a lot better, I think.  I entered a bunch of dtiyses I also learned that little backing thing on the piano, though I can’t really play the right hand part because I have trouble folding my thumb under and hitting and skipping the right notes.  Just by focusing on it a bit, I made a lot of progress in music theory, but it doesn’t feel like much when it comes to actually playing piano. I hope I learn the chords to some songs and some accompaniment patterns in the coming year.

The chapter opens with Flechette, Parian and Vista, so I suppose it’ll be Vista. Neat! I like Vista, so I think I’ll enjoy this.
Flechette is doing what she said she’d do: bring provisions to Parian, and she also still does what she said about not crossing the yellow line. This time Vista came with Flechette, using her power in a shopping bag so more stuff fit in there than normal. Water, beans, multivitamins and first aid supplies, very useful stuff. Not everyone is as lucky, though. The heroes are having a lot of trouble giving provisions to everyone who needs it.
“You’re right,” Flechette interrupted.  “We’re not doing a good job of getting supplies to everyone.  We can’t.  Any time we try to distribute it, a group like Hookwolf’s gang or the Merchants try to seize it.  Even if the heroes on duty fend them off, the citizens get scared away.”
Ah, right. Those two groups are hogging provisions and generally causing trouble. Of course people would be scared. Not that Vista regrets being a heroine, that’s for sure!
Flechette is kind of impressed at Vista’s maturity, but Vista doesn’t like that comment – wait, let me guess, it’s because she’s young and therefore dislikes when people say she’s mature for her age. Is that it?
It is. Telling them to stop being condescending doesn’t help, either. Oh boy...she’d have been so pissed off at me if I knew why I like her, haha...
The black and white pictures that show the deceased Aegis and Gallant are not a good reminder of the departed, in Vista’s opinion. Oh hey, these are more or less the conclusions I got to, although I completely forgot about the Undersiders. I don’t think the problem with them would be the funds. In my opinion, it wouldn’t fit their style either. Why to use a mole when you have Tattletale? Sure, she doesn’t actively try to find information about the Protectorate or the Wards, but I think if she wanted to, she could. There’d be no need to get an inside man.
It’s no secret Coil uses moles. There are even a few hired right now into the PRT’s forces. The thing is...does Coil know the PRT knows? Does the PRT know Coil knows the PRT knows? Does Coil know the PRT knows Coil knows the PRT knows? I have the feeling both Coil and the PRT work with the supposition Coil can find out in any moment, and that he doesn’t take the information without careful verification. Coil wouldn’t be so careless as to let false information get to him.
What Piggot wants to do is add another mole into their ranks, letting Chariot join the Wards. Oh boy, what could go wrong. Piggot better know what she’s doing. Then again, if they reject Chariot from the group, I doubt Coil would let Chariot off the hook. That kid would be as good as dead. This solution may be the only one where nobody dies in the near future. Risky moves need everyone’s authorization, though, and that’s what she’s here for, to ask all of them if they’re willing to take the risk and most likely show themselves unmasked to Chariot.
Everyone accepts, although Clockblocker does it reluctantly. Congratulations, you now have a spy infiltrated into your group! A lot of precautionary measures will be necessary from now on. That’d be much easier if the spy wasn’t a tinker, I’d say. Sooner or later that may bring trouble. But for now a plan is done, Piggot is happy, and Kid Win receives acknowledgement! All is fine for the time being.
It seems Vista’s fatalism worried Flechette a lot, because she talked to Weld and told him about that. Hm. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. We all know Weld isn’t the most diplomatic superhero to ever live. She goes to shower. Frankly, I skipped the paragraphs related to that. Feels wrong to read about someone showering, even more when it’s a thirteen year-old.
The water had removed most of it, but there was a line of dried blood flecks on her throat from where the wire had pulled against it.
That’s going to do wonders for Vista’s doom and gloom, eh? Another near-death experience for the already injury-filled life of a superhero. This isn’t even the worst injury she has – well, yeah, from what I read here, the wire didn’t come even close to being lethal – but she thinks of a specific one, on her chest.
It had been the result of an altercation with Hookwolf as the villain escaped the scene of a grisly attack on a grocer, a year ago.  A blade on the villain’s arm had punctured her armor as he’d knocked her aside.  She’d felt the pain of her skin being penetrated and she’d kept quiet about it out of a desperate need to shake the label of being the team baby.  She didn’t want to be seen as the one always in need of help and protection.  It would have been embarrassing to ask for medical attention, only for it to be a scratch.
Huh. So...maybe part of the reason she takes her role as a superhero is out of a desire to not be seen as the team baby. That’s relatable. But that wasn’t just a scratch. It was worse than that, and I think everyone reading this knows the location means it may have been really dangerous. She may be lucky to be alive.  She sewed the injury by herself, and since there was no mention of infection or of any complications, I guess she did it correctly. Is first-aid something the Wards have to learn once they join? Maybe it is.
Vista might have tried asking Panacea to fix it, but hadn’t been able to summon up the courage.
Don’t waste your time. Panacea already has too much in her to-do list, she doesn’t have the time nor reason to heal a scar. I’m not discounting the possibility of deeper damage, but yeah, better not to ask her.
Sophia freaking Hess was in the bathroom too, and she proceeds to remind me why I don’t like her. Sure, she’s not performing any bullying on Vista like she does with Taylor, but she does a comment that was uncalled for.
Great, Vista thought.  Dennis might be acting more like his old self, but Sophia is too.
That’s good! The first step towards getting better is returning to some sort of normalcy. Without forgetting what happened, of course!
Once Vista is dressed up and ready, she goes towards Weld’s room. Weld likes music. So that’s why in the fanart I was shown he was shown with that stuff! Nice, it’s always good to see what a character is interested in.
As expected: Flechette told Weld about Vista’s fatalism, and he wants to know if she’s okay. Vista insists she is fine, but Weld has concerns that...you know, is something I never considered:
“And now you’re acting like nothing fazes you, even the idea of you maybe dying in the near future.  I have to know, Missy.  Do you have a death wish?  Are you going to be putting yourself in unnecessary danger?”
I certainly hope she won’t! Now that’d be depressing. Thankfully, Vista denies that, and I feel inclined towards believing her...although...yeah, Mr. Wildbow mentioning this right after he wrote about how Vista hid a serious injury from everyone else is making me worry about her well-being. It kind of feels like he’s foreshadowing she’s going to put herself in unnecessary danger.
I hope I’m just overthinking it.
“I just want to do a good job as a member of this team.  Carry on their memory.  Act like they would want me to act.  I can work twice as hard, be twice as tough, twice as strong, if it means making up for them being gone.”
I think nobody would want you to crush yourself under this weight. There’s only so much you can do by yourself, powers or not. This only makes me worry even more she’s going to get herself in danger.
Weld is saying the right stuff! Suggesting her to let others help her carry the legacy! That’s the leader they need, yeah!
“Okay. With all this in mind, I have one suggestion and two orders.  My suggestion?  Stop trying to be everything they were.  Be what you’re good at, a caring, sweet young woman who everyone on the team likes.  My professional opinion is that you have it in you to fill some of that void Gallant left.  Use that empathic nature of yours to help others with their own struggles.  Be the team’s heart.”
Maybe he’s going to be useful as a leader after all! Good! I applaud this. So Vista is going to be the heart of the team from now on, hopefully. If she was the cunning type instead of the type to wear her own heart in her sleeve, she could even use her age to manipulate others into keeping a tense and unsatisfying feeling of general harmony, but she won’t, I’m pretty sure she won’t.
Wow, her eyes started watering. Looks like he’s actually reaching her.
“Order number one is that you go see the PRT’s therapist.  If I can clear it with Director Piggot, figure out a way to make the patrol schedules work, I’m going to try to get everyone to go.  I’m honestly kind of flabbergasted that nobody higher up than me has mandated it already.”
About time someone suggested a therapist. Everyone is in sore need of a therapist. It didn’t take long for Weld to get on top of his game, he’s taking some good decisions today. His other order is for Vista to allow herself to cry. She refuses at first, but Weld insists and she finally lets herself cry while he hugs her. Just a few minutes of crying, but it’ll do her good.
When Vista leaves Weld’s room, Sophia does some more gratuitous cruelty because she had nothing better to do, I guess. Vista endures it, getting hit where it hurts, but tries what Weld recommended she should do. Take a guess how that went. It’s like you told someone to learn how to draw and the first thing they attempted to do is hyperrealism.
Feeling awful for the failure of her first attempt at reaching out to her teammates, she turns to leave and says she pities Sophia. That much is enough to piss her off. I suppose she really hates being pitied on. Heck, her reaction is to grab Vista and shove her onto the floor. That’s not the reaction of a sane person. Vista takes it much more calmly than most people would, and points out there are security cameras watching. That dissuades Sophia, who goes out with a bad excuse. Sigh.
You know, Shadow Stalker may be the last Ward to have an intermission..I had said I wanted to read an intermission with her as the point of view character, but now I’m not so sure. I had kind of forgotten how utterly exhausting is to read about what she does and says. Eh.
I guess I’ll see next time what happens.

( NASDAQOTH:TWMJF ): 400,000 kilograms to 500,000 kilograms (my estimate) Aurora Cannabis ( NASDAQOTH:ACBFF ): 430,000 kilograms Mind you, this doesn't include players like Cronos Group, Supreme Cannabis Company, Sunniva, and Emerald Health Therapeutics ( NASDAQOTH:EMHTF ). The former three might produce between 30,000 and 50,000 kilograms annually, while Emerald Health has the capacity to eventually push north of 100,000 kilograms.  The biggest changes are seen at the top, with Canopy Growth and Aurora Cannabis pushing production ever higher. Earlier this week, Aurora Cannabis announced that it was acquiring 71 acres of land in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to build the "Aurora Sun" facility. This high-technology hybrid greenhouse should be capable of growing 150,000 kilograms of dried cannabis a year over its 1.2 million-square-foot facility.
