Mint the Possum is a common ringtail possum from Southern Island who loves oranges, clothes, and tandem bicycles getting into trouble. She's patient but hotheaded, boisterous yet shy, and kind to those she doesn't have a grudge against. A whirlwind of contradictions. Nevertheless, she's loyal to the point of concern and that, combined with her (generally) cheerful disposition, has earned her hordes of lifelong friends and allies.

Concept and creation

Initially conceptualised as a pink cat/a sugar glider named Orange, her original purpose was to be shipped with Sonic. That... did not happen. what can I say, Mint grew a mind of her own. She was also made so irresistible that everyone who met her fell in love instantly, but this has never been explored, only alluded to in passing.

Abilities

Her fighting is rooted in more acrobatic, showy moves, and the goal of tiring out the enemy before striking. She's got good reflexes and fast reactions, as well as kicks that pack a punch. She can jump up to three times her height.

Mint's also fast in terms of running, being able to keep up with Sonic on casual runs through Green Hill and beating a lot of people in races.

Relationships

Shadow the Hedgehog: Mints partner. They were mutually indifferent to each other, but the two grew closer after being formally introduced by Rouge. She adores his loyalty to the ones he loves and his tenacity. The memories she has of him play on repeat in her head, and there's been many a time where she fell asleep thinking of him. She also thinks his whole "cool guy" persona is cute.

Rouge the Bat: Mints best friend and possible ex. The heart necklace she wears is a memento of their meeting, and the moment Mint gained her first friend. It has been confirmed that Rouge and Mint have kissed at some point.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Mints role model and friend. She looks up to Sonic and admires his honesty, determination and optimism.

Amy Rose: Another friend of Mints. She enjoys speaking to Amy when she needs advice, and on occasion helps her bake or cook food. Mint finds her happiness contagious and can't help smiling around her.

Knuckles the Echidna: An ally. Mint thinks highly of Knuckles, but is unsure what his thoughts are on her. Because of this she does not talk to him a lot. She thinks his easily flustered demeanor is endearing.

Miles "Tails" Prower: A friend. Mint thinks Tails' tech-savvyness is remarkable, and has learned a thing or two about tools and maintenance of machinery from him.

Leena the Fox: Mints teammate and another friend. A member of Team Sapphire, Mint enjoys spending time with Leena, and thinks she's incredibly talented. She thinks the future Leena comes from is terrifying, and has vowed to help Leena prevent it in whatever ways she can.

Spector ☆: Mints teammate and another friend. Mint finds Spector odd, but sweet. She is ferociously protective of her, and refuses to let anyone get away with making her sad.

Ah, really it was all the work of my wonderful amazing mother! In all honesty, I would never be even CLOSE to being this happy if it wasn't for her and everything she did to keep me safe and let me transition. Short answer: I got lucky with living in the transgender shield of New York because my parents are rad and moved us up there

Long answer: Quite a few things actually! For starters, I was lucky enough to live in a state that allowed it, and I had proof of being dysphoric from a young age through therapy records and mental health checks. (<- not Necessary, but definitely helped my case! the government LOVESS the mentally ill lmfao) Really when medically transitioning, you need a few things on a list.

1: A letter of recommendation from a therapist (I've been through Several, so no problem there! Just need proof from a mental health professional that you are who you say you are, and you're not going to regret the change)

2: A letter from your general practioner/medical provider, signing off on the surgery (this will actually happen Several Times. but you need one to start off the whole thing)

3: If you're a minor, proof that you're fully developed puberty-wise, through a physical exam with your doctor!

Then, you take all of those to a plastic surgeon. I had an amazing doctor that took wonderful care of me and did a perfect job with the surgery, and I'd really recommend doing a metric shit-ton of research on whatever surgeon you end up choosing! The best bet most often is whatever other trans people recommend. This surgeon will then sign off on it, and you'll book some dates. In my case, there was 2 pre-op meetings! One where they looked at my chest and decided on the best procedure to use, and one where they had my mother fill out consent forms and book the date of the final surgery. (Again, assuming it's a minor like me going through this process, it's likely they haven't been through a surgery before! So there might be one more appointment with a doctor where they check your general muscle strength and how well you'll recover from the anesthetic/surgery in general. Really easy check-up, that typically functions as a less invasive physical)

It's a long, time consuming process that's very fuckin expensive lmao, but I promise you it's worth it. It's so very very worth it. I could go into all the little details of every step of the process and all the hoops I jumped through, but it can and will vary from person to person! Again, I just got very very very goddamn lucky with a family that supports me and was willing to help me as much as they have. Im the luckiest guy on the planet I'm pretty sure. Everyday I get to wake up in the body I've always wanted to have and feel amazing about it.

this is actually a very interesting question! at first i thought you meant role switch like sibling role, ie. han seo being older and han seok the younger one. i think that could be very interesting too because personally i think han seo, the way he was portrayed in canon, could fit very well as an older brother, and likewise, han seok has that youthfulness, that insolence to him that you'd find in a younger kid. besides, the dynamic would be so fucked with han seok manipulating and controlling his big brother, don't you think? it's absolutely delicious hehe

other role switch as you mentioned, psycho han seo/normal han seok, or two psychos and two normals - all so good too. for two psychos, imagine han seok seeing that spark of something in han seo's eyes the moment they first met on that hunting trip. their father doesn't know yet, but han seok does; he does because he has that spark too. maybe han seo does things without realizing - being too cruel with the neighbor's dog; the stray animals coming into their yard, and he never feels guilty, especially so with han seok there encouraging him on. they'd be a goddamn power house when they grow up too hehe. so very into the idea of han seo doing the murders when they were young, han seok watching, han seok telling him they should take trophies (the watches) and han seok being caught because of it, never implicating his darling dongsaeng ("keep out legacy alive when i'm away, yeah, dongsaeng? hyung'll be back real soon."). thinking about han seo straight up planning to murder vincenzo without asking for permission first because he thinks it's right. he's not so afraid of what his brother might do to him - learning about consequences is never his forte.

for two normals, personally i think han seok without his psycho is pretty boring. like that's the spice of his character, but if i must. i'd say them fussing over the taboo of their relationship can be fun. angsty but fun. them knowing it's wrong but can't really help themselves. them coming back to the other at every turn - maybe even cheating on their current partner because the high they get from each other is something they cannot keep themselves from wanting hehe.

for psycho han seo and normal han seok... hmm. idk if han seo would be the abusive type - he was only ever imitating his brother in canon. maybe han seok could teach him to be "normal". get him to act right so he won't be sent away; won't raise any suspicions. han seok doesn't want them to part - doesn't think han seo would be able to fare much without him. the codependency would be absolutely insane here. with han seok thinking he has a responsibility with his baby brother and han seo looking up to him because he's older, he must be right all the time. thinking about han seo slipping sometimes, getting himself bloody from a fight, from something more and han seok's always there to patch him up, make things right. This is Lynx’s most popular album, Conspiracy Theories. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have a pic of lynx as the cover even if it’s silly. I really like rabbit imagery in music anyways though so I think it’s nice. I was inspired by Alice In Chains album covers and also fleshwater’s ‘we’re not here to be loved’. I tried to find a way to make it more 'gritty' but I couldn’t unfortunately 😭 I like how the title looks, like they just got a label maker and smacked it on..heheh

I imagine that this album is about relationship anxiety, betrayal, resentment, anti social tendencies, infidelity, and aliens. Probably not little green men, maybe more like the thing kind of fleshy imagery. Definitely appealing to atlas and scotch in different ways. Tool’s Undertow is a good example (off the top of my head..) of the sound I’m thinking of, so… prog? Or at least heavily inspired. I’m bad with genres heheh

im currently trying to either become okay with roadkill's name, or decide on a new one.. so im not making any album covers for them yet lol but i will post when i do..

I think roadkill would take a lot of inspo from their fave band so their style is probably heavily influenced by Lynx. Scotch adds a lot of sampling, distortion, whatever..idk I don’t make music.. and atlas is a big fan of slow tempo and bass. think its important to note that atlas doesnt play bass like a bassist in this album, he plays it more like a guitarist. kind of. hope that makes sense. I’ve always been really torn about roadkill’s genre, it’s been everywhere and tends to change. scotch and atlas’ styles would be vastly different if they were solo, so I think that’s why i am so indecisive . I think I just have to keep reminding myself that they’re in a band together, so styles would be mixed.

A part of me is like.. I think roadkill’s first album would be reminiscent of faith no more’s ‘the real thing’, or even some of Primus' stuff in some sense, plus similarities to Lynx and influences of industrial. i know thats a lot of random descriptions. I kinda think of (here’s a goofy genre for ya) sludge metal bands’ instrumental style, not necessarily vocal style... its hard to describe a band that doesnt exist. LMFAO

right now im thinking about 'the pot' by tool as a close example of roadkill.. im having a hard time finding artists that match scotch's vocal range even remotely. also doesnt help that the bands im basing this off of like tool and FNM dont exactly...fit into genres very neatly. roadkill and lynx wouldnt either. HAH. i just know it wouldnt be that high quality but definitely obvious theres a lot of passion in it. i mean this is just an album made by guys who dontknow what theyre doing. like at all. lol

Roadkill’s sound changes quite a bit their next album when seraph is involved. It becomes a lot more ummmm I guess palatable to more people? I don’t exactly know what I mean by that. Ok. LOL. I’ll think about it.. but this is around when Scotch realizes he wants this to be his job. Having Seraph helps A LOT with building a more dedicated and bigger audience, since they’re the one most willing to make changes. Plus they’re in art school, I feel like they’d have connections. So I guess roadkill would sell out in a way.

if you asked me this question a year ago i would have had a completely different answer. i wouldve probably said roadkill is pop punk or garage rock or something. i have trouble fitting scotch and atlas into a genre together. it fits scotch just fine and i think he would enjoy it, but its not roadkill.. also ive been thinking of stylizing roadkill as rdkill.. lmk wat u think.. im unsure about the name is generalHAHA. i know this is a lot so dont feel pressured to reply to everything LMAO im just thinking out loud. and drawing connections between genres that completely do not make sense. peace and LOVE<3

actually i've had one thing i really find puzzling in your latest answer to my ask, and that is the fact that yagami is seemingly the one whose pov you're writing? it's regarding the sawa-kitakata relationship. i remember the snippet you've posted which showed kitakata's pov. you write different povs then here?

Not sure which snippet exactly you mean buuuuut the Main Fic is currently yagami pov yeah (except for one scene). But a bunch of my other writing for the au has been kitakata pov so that might be it?

my honest opinion is that if people gave it a chance, the witcher could survive without henry. i think the rest of the cast is incredibly talented and they would be able to carry the show. if netflix got the recasting right (and this is the bit i am unsure about) i think the show could survive in quality. however, and this is the big thing, i'm not sure how many fans are going to give it the chance. recasting your main lead is incredibly difficult and a death blow to a lot of shows. i think there will be a lot of people who don't give it a chance without henry - and i do understand that because he is such a prominent part of this series. i know i will give it a chance because the scene stealers for me have always been anya and joey, but a lot will hinge on how liam picks up the role. at the moment i believe they've been greenlit for two more seasons (so that's up to season 5) and i think they'd be full length seasons as they're suggesting doing two back-to-back. however, this is netflix and anything can change depending on the reception to season 3.

i'm uncertain about how blood origin will fair, correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe it has just been planned as a stand-alone prequel spinoff as in, there is not going to be a season 2. it also concerns me that i believe it was originally commissioned as six episodes, but it's been cut down into four. i do think people will check it out simply because of the allure of jaskier (which to be honest, is a very clever marketing move), but reviews have not been great. i don't necessarily think the critics are an honest view of audience enjoyment (in fact, i think they're wrong a lot of the time and overly harsh to get clicks), but this along with it being cut down does make me concerned about whether it will feel 'rushed' and not a fully developed show.
