“There’s absolutely no fucking way he didn’t know!”

You exclaimed, frustration clear on your face, recalling how things went down back in tenth grade to prove your point.

Karina only sighed on the other end of the call, “listen, babe, I love you but you have to take into account how oblivious the poor boy was back then! He studied and skated, that’s literally all he did, that was him,” she spoke, emphasizing on the but part.

You huffed, sitting down on the edge of your bed, nodding to yourself slowly as you let it sink that her point was actually a valid one for once.

“It’s still awkward though,” you mumbled, playing with a loose thread of your sweater.

“It’ll be fine, okay? It’s been four full years, and it’s not like you have to talk to him.” Her words were true yet again, and this is why you loved her.

Karina had been your best friend since you were in middle school, she’d always been honest and the social butterfly everyone loved, but at the same time, she was humble and kind, always taking care of the ones around her, not to mention how she was possibly the prettiest girl you’d ever met.

You were relieved to know that she would be with you for the school reunion—an event which was planned thoroughly, it was a big deal.

It wasn’t just a meet up, it was a three day trip back to your hometown, the whole itinerary was planned, as per the usual ritual:

The first day being the reunion dinner night—the most important one out of the three days, a day where everyone shows up clad in their best outfits, a day where they flaunt every bit of success and achievements they’ve accomplished.

The second being the beach day, to make sure no one is left out on the fun factor, also

The last being the night out at the newest club of your city, a night to let loose, especially when it concerns rekindling the old flames (happens more often than not).

The idea itself was thrilling, not to mention how desperately you needed this break, Karina was even quicker to express her excitement by booking two hotel rooms, non refundable at that, for you both as your parents now lived in Seoul, and not in your hometown.

Another sigh left your mouth as you plopped down on your bed, staring at the ceiling while wondering why you even bothered to check the guest list, to check whether Park Sunghoon was invited or not.

It was no surprise when you saw his name in the list, gulping as you recalled the embarrassing incident which took place between you both, the one in which you never got the opportunity to confront him, or explain yourself by any means.

You closed your eyes, revisiting the ever so embarrassing memory.

It was the last day of the tenth grade, your exams had just gotten over and the student crowd was elated, throwing notes everywhere to celebrate the fact that they were not chained to their textbooks anymore, not for a month at least; which caused you to scrunch your nose at the sight of paper wastage, not to mention, the meaningless litter all over.

“Uh—Hey,” a sweet voice called your name at the exact second, succeeding in grabbing your attention.

You recognized him as your classmate, Sunghoon, who was also a good friend of your own friend, Jay.

“Hey! Hoon, right?” You smiled at him, a slight red colour spread on his cheeks at the sight of you.

He nodded, also politely saying ‘hello’ to Karina, who was right next to you before his gaze fell to his fingers as he fiddled with them, his fang-like teeth biting down on his plush bottom lip with anxiety as he worked on mustering enough courage to look into your eyes, only to find your own ones staring at him with curiosity.

“I just—I wanted to ask if you’d like to, you know, go out with me sometime?” He let out the question, unsure of what words he had used and cringing at how shaky his tone was.

He had completely forgotten what he practiced in front of the mirror a thousand times, but he knows for sure that the result was not supposed to come out as horrendous as this one.

Your eyes widened as you looked at Karina with pleading eyes, asking for help. It was no secret that you were one of the popular girls at your school; sweet, hardworking, and humble.

Getting a confession such as this one was nothing new to you, declining politely always worked, however, that was when you were single and not in a relationship with the most popular guy in the school (as cliché as it was), who was also your senior. It was almost like a fanfiction with how the ace of the school, Lee Heeseung, had ended up falling for you.

The news was quick to spread, fast enough for your group chat to go crazy, asking you questions so diabolical which almost made you throw your phone away with embarrassment.

In the span of three days, the whole school was aware of the new ‘it couple’. Except for Sunghoon, that is.

“As, uh, friends?” You winced at how pathetic your question was, which certainly made things ten times more awkward than they were supposed to be.

“N—no, as something more?” Sunghoon helpfully explained, looking everywhere but at your face now.

“Sunghoon,” Karina spoke up, causing you to release your breath, thankful that she was here to control the situation when you could say nothing and feel uncomfortable looking at his disappointed face.

“She’s taken, love! Sorry,” she informed him, his eyes widening and mouth agape.

You wondered if he was genuinely clueless about this, he did look lost to you.

You gasped, suddenly feeling an arm wrap around your waist, pulling you closer as you stared at Heeseung in surprise, who was already looking down at you with a smirk.

“Hey, baby. I missed you,” he spoke up, kissing you right on the mouth, more exaggerated than usual.

Sunghoon witnessed the whole scene, a frown settling on his face, embarrassment clear on his face which was now red and showed clear signs of sadness as he softly said, “e—excuse me,” leaving as soon the words left his mouth, shoulders slumped.

You never met him again, only seeing him with Jay at times.

He was quick to change his school soon after it, knowing that he’d be able to do so easily since the finals were over.

You were going to meet him now.

Your eyes snapped open at the thought of that, you just wished for the trip to be a pleasant one. Furthermore, from your side, you’d make sure to not be awkward around him, pretending as if the whole situation didn’t happen in the first place.

If you’d even get to talk to him, that is.

it's based on this concept idea i had (changed a few things though. also, if you commented on this post, i'm alr gonna tag you haha so dw ab commenting under this one too)

here’s a bit of info about it:

ᰔ genres. fluff, smut, angst, enemies to lovers (sort of), annoyances to lovers (that's more like it), small town romance, fake marriage, next door neighbors, lots of bickering, slow burn, mutual pining, gojo likes to play house but you don't, hatred for the american healthcare system, gojo always forgets to mow the lawn, lots of jealousy, an insane amount of profanity, suburban shenanigans; btw gojo in this fic is in his early 30s n reader is in her late 20s

ᰔ summary. gojo satoru is your extremely annoying next-door-neighbor who you're pretty sure is the most insufferable man you've ever met. given the fact that you exclusively work the night shift at a chaotic emergency dept, just got broken up with your boyfriend of seven years, n have been taking care of your sick mom ever since her multitude of diagnoses, yet somehow your neighbor is the main source of stress in your life should speak volumes. but when your mother's medical bills start to skyrocket more than you can manage, and you learn that said neighbor of yours has the best private health insurance in the country, you ask him to enter a matrimonial agreement with you for the spousal benefits all in the name of saving a few hundred thousand dollars. but you'll have to see if suffering cohabitation with him is worth any amount of money.

some side quests. your ex bf is a cop and is determined to prove your marriage is a sham because he's jealous, it appears gojo's love life history is not as simple as it may seem either, also there will be lots of secondary angst because of reader's mom's sickness :'') i will really be delving into a lot of the struggles of having a sick family member (in this fic, alzheimer's & cancer)

You spawn on a road with sidewalks that have candles, you have a lantern in your inventory.

As you walk you will occasionally see an exit sign.

Halfway, pillars stretch up from the ground, most are normal but some are shaped like hands that reach to the sky. On top of the hands are weird figures with glowing green eyes and horns that look like something from the flaming horns series?

(thats the closest thing i could find,,,)

At the end of the road is the default Happy Home, though with minor modifications. An exit sign is right at the stairs and pointing at the door. Tube tvs are inside the home, a giant one at the middle against the wall with two stacks of tvs in the corners. The left side has one tv off, while the others are full of red static. They don't do anything when interacted with.

Note: This sorta resembles the thumbnail for scythe's teaser.

They also look like the TVs in broker's secret room (i reached the image limit so cant show ough)

Outside to the left and on top of the house are the same weird green eyed figures.

2. DIALOGUE

There are many figures running around saying various phrases,

phrases that ive seen:

"Help!"

"you traitor"

"do something"

"be useful"

"please help me"

"Useless support"

"Help me!"

"help"

"please just heal me"

"Please heal me"

"How's your eye?" (Idk if this is random dialogue or subspace dialogue)

Though, some of these figures are saying things from medkit ally dialogue.

Ingame dialogue phrases:

"Do I really want to work with a rebel on my team?" - Banhammer

"Hey!! Great seeing you!!" - Subspace

"How's that eye doing??" - Subspace

3. THE OVERSEER NEXTBOT OR SOMETHING IDK

You are chased by an overseer eye, it can't be stopped permanently. Though, it can be halted by positioning yourself in the right area, however, it has good pathing and can jump extremely high, so you can't hide from it.

Getting caught by it results in an image showing up on the screen, this rewards you a badge the first time you see it.

Random note: the eye is weirdly clean? im not sure if its medkit's eye or not since I remember soda saying that subspace just threw the eye away,, (not sure if this is still canon)

After this you get kicked from the game with the message "You must kill him to become him."

The interesting thing is that this is the description of the overseer eye cosmetic.

This probably means something like "you must kill overseer to become him" or something but what does that mean who is killing overseer huh what

The one killing him might be either medkit or katana.

KATANA : there is dialogue between katana and ban hammer

Ban Hammer: "You can't get involved with the business of the dudes higher up." Katana: "And who will stop me?"

MEDKIT : ok the whole thing is about Medkit so the kick message is probably the overseer eye talking to Medkit,,

Soda has said that if Katana knew more about Medkit, he would kill him. This could mean multiple things but very interesting hm

Another interesting thing is the jumpscare noise, it is a jumpscare noise used in old games.

The interesting part is what it is, the noise is actually the sound of the subspace tripmine slowed down, whether this was just coincidence or because of the subspace thing is unknown, it might even be both?

EXTRA . CHURCH OF THE TRUE EYE INFO

Not really related to the tower but just what we know about the cult

A religious group within lost temple, not everybody from lost temple is a member of it.

It is mentioned in Medkit's phone dialogue.

Every member of the cult is missing an eye.

Soda has mentioned that the reason why Sword's eye isn't missing is because he wasn't born in lost temple.

CORRECTION: Sword was born in lost temple, but wasn't raised in it. The point still stands that this is the reason why he hasn't lost an eye.

Based on dialogue between medkit and banhammer, it has been around for a while now. (THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME)

It is unknown what the goals or structure of the cult are currently.

They have a uniform, Medkit, Scythe, and Broker share the motif of outfits of mostly teal.

Scythe calls Vine Staff "blessed" in her dialogue with her, this is related to the cult somehow since in the same conversation Vine says "No! You and your creepy family can buzz off!"

^ According to broker, her curse is rare but she isn't the first one to have it.

They call themselves a family, and call Overseer their Father.

Overseer info:

There is barely any, but this is what we know.

They are referred to as a leader, it is unknown whether they are the faction leader or just the cult leader.

Scythe refers to him as a deity, whether they truly are one, manipulated the cult into believing they are, or the cult simply calls him a deity is unknown.

An alternative is that she isn't talking about overseer here at all, though if that is so we don't know if she's talking about a sfoth deity or a different one. ← if it is a sfoth deity, it is most likely to be darkheart or venomshank (or maybe even ghostwalker? idk)

Alright, I am gonna say this, while curly isn’t a good person, he isn’t a bad person either. He is morally gray, and did what was best for the whole of the group; not for one person. You have to take in consideration.

One, jimmy is the co-pilot. He can’t separate jimmy from everyone or kill him or whatever, curly needs jimmy to fly the ship. That control panel is massive, too big for one person. The ship is big too, you gotta think. So no, curly couldn’t have killed or separated him from the crew.

Even if you were to do that, and have someone else be co-pilot, you wouldn’t. Anya is..well, not suited for controls like that, she wouldn’t be able to memorize it. Daisuke would be overwhelmed by it all and let’s be honest, both of them are too incompetent to fly a ship. Swansea is a mechanic, not an engineer. No one would be able to fly it aside from jimmy and curly.

Also putting in a complaint is a pain in the ass and nearly impossible too. Pony express was kicking the bucket way before Anya told curly. He wouldn’t be able to put in a complaint or a notification because I wouldn’t be surprised if pony express already shut down and had no contact with the ship after that transaction. To the words of the official wrong organ post, and a teaser to put in a complaint is quote “ANY COMPLAINTS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING, SIGNED, AND STAMPED BY THE REPRESENTATIVE OFFICER OF A DESIGNATED PONY EXPRESS COURIER POINT NO LATER THAN THE END OF THE FIRST WEEKDAY OF SECOND WEEK IN ODD MONTHS AND NO LATER THAN THE BEGINNING OF THE THIRD WEEKDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK ON EVEN MONTHS. HOLIDAY EXEMPTION RULES APPLIED.”

Even if he was able to put a complaint in somehow, even if pony express didn’t kick the bucket, what would most likely happen, is one…NOTHING! They are in space, there is no jail, no backup co-pilot, no abortion protocol on board, neither is there other ships because pony express was one of the last manned freighters. At most, he could be arrested after landing. But if curly would report it, jimmy would still crash the ship.

Even if the murder thing came into play, curly couldn’t and wouldn’t do it, again, stench, dead body, and the murder of a crew-mate could cause pony express to dock all of their pay. Daisuke wouldn’t be able to stomach it, and swansea didn’t really care what jimmy did. He only went after jimmy after daisuke was put to rest, not when he first heard about it. Anya was the only one with a valid reason to kill him, but her entire thing is that their worst actions don’t make them monsters.

Again back with curly, he is morally gray and thinks for the ship, not for people. Doing any action against jimmy would most likely dock pay from members above, so he tried to keep everything off records to keep everyone’s resumes, reports and backgrounds as clean as possible. He did try to fix things, but there’s only so much you can do.

Context; I celebrate Chinese/Lunar New Year. I want to write/kick crying out into the world my Nezha older brother to MK AU on AO3 for the occasion, which is as said. It's an AU in which Tang and Pigsy pray to the protector deity of children, after finding a random child left on the doorstep. Nezha hears the prayer and, throughout the years, finds he cannot leave MK alone and accidentally becomes something of an older brother figure.

The hefty Rook x Observant Reader fanfic has been slow. Honestly, I need some outside help and my friends/beta readers are busy. While I'm giving you an update, I might throw my dilemma out there. (usually, I wouldn't do this, but it's not overly descriptive and I need help. If you're here, congratulations. Now, you will truly understand the depth at which I'm writing this)

I've created a section where Rook and Reader watch one of Vil's movies together. The scene(s) are meant to bring the couple closer together while giving insight into Vil, Rook, and Neige (even though Rook isn't an actor in the film, a character clearly embodies him). The core idea is that both actors are playing their real personalities. There are only a few differences, and those differences are very slight. However, they have a high impact on how Vil acts in the film. I aim for it to be too close for comfort. I want to shake Rook up a little. My question is…… actually, I just talked to someone about it and I have solved my issue! I was going to ask if I should go with my gut and flesh out more movie scenes with commentary between Reader and Rook. I decided I should. I also figured out what Rook and Reader will talk about. That was tripping me up, so I’m glad I got that settled.

I’ve been working on Riddle’s Dreaming of You. I mentioned in this post some fun, teaser details. There isn’t much more on that front... I suppose I can reveal that I just wrote the section in the second dream where Riddle orders everyone to chase the “imposters.” I’ve decided the thing that pushes Riddle over the edge to command his military is that the two Deuces keep arguing about “No! You’re lying!” There are other logical reasons why Riddle commands their arrest, but Deuce is the trigger. I feel like it’s a very accurate representation of him. This could be subject to change, but I thought it was funny.

Azul’s Dreaming of You is similar. I’ve been working on it, but there isn’t much to tell. The latest detailed update is with the Riddle link above.

Ahhh, the newish one. Silver’s Dreaming of You. I have a lot of news and thoughts about this one. This one has already gone through several rewrites and overhauls. It's nowhere near complete. I'm treating this like the Rook x Observant Reader fanfic. I'm taking a holistic approach and fleshing out more than just Silver because I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't. Canon Chapter 7 is all about family and it's written phenomenally. I don't want to come in and slap some superficial romance. It doesn't feel right. I'm having to do a lot of research on Diasomnia. The more I know, the more I’ll change.

To do this, I'm introducing the Reader into Diasomnia’s family dynamic before Chapter 7. I have to go through each character and establish their relationship with the Reader and how it grows. That’s extremely important. (I need Lilia to approve lol… actually, there is a sweet scene with Reader and him. He tells them to take care of his son and the others, but particularly Silver. It happens where they’re alone and it’s before Lilia’s going-away party. The Reader doesn’t know the full context of what that means *sobs*)

For Sebek, I'm excited to write his character. At the moment, I want Reader to change his point of view of his heritage and how it represents what Lilia and Malleus want. They want peace between the fae and humans. Sebek is a physical representation of that type of healthy union. I'm really excited about his transformation. I planned to be mean about it because I had some good lines and I was irritated at our boy. However, it would be better served in his Dreaming of You fanfic. "You're worried about sullying Malleus and Lilia's name? You don't have to. You've already done it." *mic drop*

I'm not sure about Malleus, but he's a cutie pie so he'll get love and attention too.

prepping for fom's next big update

fields of mistria is my current comfort hyper fixation, it is literally all i think about rn lol and with the big update coming next monday (3/10) i am literally bouncing off of the walls in anticipation. if u intentionally haven't seen the roadmap for the update and want to go in without knowing ahead of time what they're adding, you might wanna skip this post.

my current save file is in fall year 2 with roughly 70ish hours (give or take). i am definitely not someone who likes to min/max games, especially not cozy games so i'm far from the most efficient and productive of players but i have been working on some prep work for the big update.

mines: go pick up literally everything in deep earth

the next update unlocks the quest for opening the next seal in the mines, the fire seal on lvl 60. with the past seals, you've needed to gather items from the mine biome before the seal: the gemstone, a specific fish (one of the five), a specific bug (one of the five), and a specific forageable (one of the five). since the seal quest has been locked, we haven't been able to know which fish, bug, and forageable we will need.

so my biggest order of prep work was to find one of each and hoard them in advance. i have a chest designated specifically for keeping these items so i don't accidentally sell them. so far i have collected everything except for one elusive bug (losing my mind a little). so everyone manifest that we don't need that one bug.

other than that, i'm pretty set for the mines update. i've unlocked the elevator to lvl 60 in the mines and upgraded all of my tools.

in the teasers from the dev team, they revealed a new mechanic for the next biome: using your watering can to make paths over lava!! so definitely upgrade your watering can if you haven't already. there's also a new spell coming so save up some of your lil magic energy if u can (or don't, it does not take too long to get it back lol).

new town repair quest: hoard materials like it's doomsday and become a capitalist hog

we're getting a new town repair quest!! which means say goodbye to all of your tesserae, wood, stone, and probably some of your other resources. don't want to be destitute for another season? stockpile like there's not tomorrow.

one of the best parts about gathering resources in fields of mistria is that all trees and rocks outside of your farm will respawn every single day. don't listen to the lorax, become mistria's #1 deforestation expert. a couple in game days of purely focusing on resources should get you in a good spot. feel free to go as insane with that as you will, i usually stick to doing a day of resources, having a break day to go off and fish/mine/whatever i want, and doing another resource day. at the end of the day, this is your cozy game. if you don't want to grind like crazy, don't! everyone plays at their own pace, there's no right or wrong way to play!

there's a lot of ways to make tesserae in mistria, one for each playstyle in my opinion. are there some that are better than others? sure, but whatever. whichever money making method sparks joy (shoutout Marie Kondo) and rolls in the dough, do it! i personally love the ranching and farming aspect of the game so i spend a lot of time selling crops and milled ingredients. would it be better to make dishes to sell for max profit? probably but don't hold your breath, cooking is one of the things i do least. one way i have started making some cold, hard mistria cash is selling furniture. with the skill perk of having a chance for the items to be high quality and be sold for more, it's not a bad way to make some dough. it is so sad though when i make furniture purely for decor only to begrudgingly sell it cause it'll sell for 10% more. you also might want to save up some tesserae for the new decor and customization items coming with the update!!

i have some ideas of what the next town repair will be but truly though, there's no way to tell until the update drops. we have no idea what we will need for the new town repair quest so it might save you some time later to stock up on any and all supplies you run across now.

sprinkler and auto-petter: go slay some monsters, adventurer!

the new update will bring two new mechanics to the game: sprinklers and auto-petters (a name that i just cannot get behind lmao). from the looks of the teasers, these will be powered by essence stones. now maybe i'm just unobservant but i'm not aware of essence stones as an item in the game yet. what i do now of is essence drops, an item dropped by essence bats when killed in the mines. as of now, essence bats are on floors 21-59 of the mines. my best guess is that essence stones will be crafted with essence drops or will be dropped from essence bats in the next biome. either way, i'm stocking up on essence drops just in case. and if i'm a silly goose and there are already essence stones please for the love of everything holy tell me.

elsie's gossip: an in game gift hint so you don't have to keep tabbing out for that one guide you found online

this one is not really something to prep for in my opinion unless you haven't been raising elsie's hearts. i'm not sure if the mechanic will be based on your heart levels but it's worth giving her some gifts and chatting (plus she just is that girl so go give her a rose, you casanova).

we are not getting the heart max raised so if you want to stockpile gifts for people go ahead but you will still be waiting for the next big update before you can go bother your crush with lavish bribes for affection.

new festival: please please please let it be halloween adjacent, npc studios im begging

new festival is on the way! with the first update we saw the addition of the summer festival so i will bet all of you $10 that the next festival will be fall (if it isn't... i'm broke pls don't hold me to that).

you might want some money in case there are booths with goodies, that's all i got for ya. please npc studios give me the giant skeleton from the teasers last year please.

caldarus: y'all are down astronomically bad

he's coming. if you want to stockpile gifts for him in case he is here for longer than just a cutscene (i'm rooting for y'all fr), dataminers have compiled a list of the gifts that he likes. i like to avoid datamined info to the best of my ability but it is an option if you feel so inclined.

also get some tissues or chocolates or something in preparation for that cutscene, not cause it's sad or anything, just cause your mans is finally returning from war.

kk that's all i've got for now! those are the main things that i am doing to prep and so that i don't sit and watch a countdown clock for an entire week. i'm trying really hard not to play too much and skip over fall so i'm taking the slightest break from grinding to save some time in the season for hopefully fall festival. last update i was already in fall so i didn't see the shooting star festival until i went all the way back around in year 2. the wait was so worth it though.

God, he wishes things went differently.

Hanta wakes up to a dull ache in his head and empty sheets. His arm reaches out instinctively, searching for warmth, for you—but there’s nothing. Just the cool fabric beneath his fingertips. Where were you?

His eyes crack open, squinting against the early morning light seeping through the blinds and he groans, pinching the bridge of his nose as he sits up in the spare room of Denki and Jirou’s place.

He looks around, searching for any trace of you— a forgotten earring, the lingering scent of your perfume, something. But there’s nothing.

A low chuckle rumbles in his chest, humorless. You’re gone.

Not that he even blames you. He knows about the rumors, he knows his type, he doesn’t blame your for protecting yourself but damn, he thought maybe he’d convinced you.

He meant what he said last night. Every word.

And that’s the problem. Because at first? It was a game. He’s not gonna lie to himself about that. It doesn’t take a genius to see how attractive you were and god he wanted you. The fact that you didn’t want him only made him want you more. Every time he saw you he’d think about what he’d do if somehow he could get you into his bed. That’s what it was, that’s how it started.

He’d known you for a while, the best friend one of his best friend’s girls, mutual friend group, occasional group hangs or cyphs. Never bothering to give him more than a glance, maybe a small smile or a laugh.

He wishes things went differently because about halfway through Denki’s party, while watching you laugh with Jirou he found himself thinking what if he could hear that laugh everyday? He told himself it was the weed talking. But now? Waking up alone, sheets cold where you should be—he can’t ignore the way his chest feels hollow.

He exhales sharply, shaking his head. Too proud to admit it, even to himself.

Looks like you were just another notch on his belt after all.

Even if, for the first time, he’s not sure that’s what he wanted.

He doesn’t blame you, even though it hurts. Maybe he’d be fine, maybe he’d move on—if you weren’t acting like it never happened. Like he doesn’t exist. Like you regret him.

That stings more than he’s willing to admit.

Regardless of his feelings, his ego takes a hit. He wasn’t bad… was he? He’s never doubted himself before, never needed to. So why you?

He’s honestly embarrassed about how much you cross his mind, how badly he wants your attention even if it’s just to know why? Why you’re pretending. Why you let him have you just to leave before the sun was up. For someone who was so adamant about not playing his game, you sure as hell seem to be playing it well, better than him.

He finds out where you work. Totally by accident. Denki mentions it offhandedly while they’re hanging out, and Hanta makes a mental note—just in case.

And in a totally not weird way, he starts stopping by. Enough to figure out when you work. Enough to know that you know he keeps coming in.

Enough to notice that every time he shows up, you disappear into the back, leaving your coworker to take his order like he’s just another customer.

Like he wasn’t in bed with you a month ago.

Like he doesn’t still feel the ghost of your touch.

And god, that shouldn’t piss him off as much as it does.
