What's Raph like?

In other iterations (2012 especially) Raph is a sort of second-in-command, lancer for Leo (who he often butts heads with). He’s typically prone to anger and violence, often lashing out at his brothers or friends whenever he’s upset/insecure/afraid. He’s basically the definition of anger issues lol. Raph will sometimes get an episode where he’s the leader for the day (usually after a fight with Leo) and it almost always goes spectacularly wrong

In rise, Raph is the leader from the get-go, by virtue of being the big brother. He doesn’t have the same penchant for anger as his counterparts and is mostly seen as a big softy. He’s had a lot of responsibility placed on his shoulders and is definitely a mother hen especially to Mikey (which is think is a really cool sort of fun-house-mirror reflection of 2012!raphs relationship with his Mikey, given how often Raph makes fun of him)

Raph loves his brothers and worries about them almost constantly. He is my Anxiety Disorder king.

That being said, he’s not completely different from the other Raphs. He doesn’t have a huge skill for strategy and thinks with his fists more often than his head. A good example is the mystic library episode (one of my favorites) where aprils pet Mayhem (a magic dog cat thing) get trapped in the mirror and Raphs solution is to smash the entire bathroom (ironically he smashes everything except the mirror. Probably for the best).

He’s a sweetheart, a bit of a dumbass but he tries his best. He is protective of his brothers to a fault, using his body as a human shield for them, even jumping of a roof to save Leo on time (and unlocking his ninpo in the process)

In my brain he usually gets overshadowed by my love for Leo but Raph is an amazing character too <3
