Mumbo would usually get out seeing that grin, knowing it meant trouble, but considering what could've been he was overjoyed seeing it.

« I'm good at keeping it a secret. » Mumbo answered, trying to stay positive.

« You can't control your shifting, right? » Grian asked, taking off his Elytra And pulling off his sweater, revealing his wings.

Mumbo hated how thin he was. He wasn't healthy and he hated not being able to help.

« Yes and no, As long as I don't eat too much of the same thing I don't shift… » He trailed off. He had been eating the same thing for the whole season.

« Do you know why you can't control it? » Grian asked, tilting his head.

Mumbo just shrugged « I was just born unlucky, there's no reason. »

« Wrong. » Grian said, humming a bit.

Mumbo tilted his head « What? »

« You're wrong. There is a reason. » Grian said, with a smile, and brought a hand to his chest, and motioned to grab something. He slowly moved it away, and cupped his hands, showing Mumbo whatever appeared in his hand.

It looked like a wisp sphere, glowing with a sky blue light, with small wings and a halo, both glowing with a light purple that melted with the other color.

Mumbo had never seen something so beautiful.

« Do you know what this is? » Grian asked, quietly, looking at the thing in his hand with a soft smile.

Mumbo shook his head.

« It's an old trick someone I once knew taught me, » Grian said, then looked up, holding it out to Mumbo « It's my soul. » he said, and the words echoed through Mumbo's mind.

He clenched his chest.

He knew he'd never have something like that.

« This little thing - or better, the lack of it - is why you can't control when you shift. » Grain explained, holding his soul close to his chest again, he cupped it like you'd do with a flame. « I'm not good at explaining, we both know that. But… I want to help you. » He said, and gripped the soul. His expression shifted,looking a bit pained.

« Grian, what are you doing… » Mumbo whispered, as he started getting up, not liking where this was going.

« I know you didn't really mean it when you said you wanted my soul. You wanted my help to turn you back. » Grian said, smiling wider now « And this is how I'm gonna do it! » He pulled at the wings.

Next thing Mumbo knew, he was thrown against a wall, and there was a blast of light.

When he looked up, Grian was on the other end of the room, leaning against the opposite wall holding…

He looked up at Mumbo, with that stupid smile he always had.

Mumbo rushed towards him, breaking the glass that was between them.

Grian had gotten even paler than usual.

His legs gave in, and he sat down. « This should do… » he whispered, holding out one of the two halves « I can shift a little bit. A half should let you keep your powers but let you control them. »

« Grian, what?!- » Mumbo hissed, not accepting it.

« Mumbo, take it. » Grian insisted, yelping when Mumbo pushed his hand back « Don't do that! They'll fuse back together and I don't think I could handle it breaking again! » He said, doing his best to keep the two halves apart.

Mumbo just… stared. « Grian, you know I'm always up for crazy things but… I can't do this… » He murmured.

Grain took his hand, and placed one half in it, « You gotta, cause I'm not taking it back. » Grian said stubbornly, and moved the half he still had next to his chest. It disappeared again.

Mumbo moved the one in his hand closer, just to look at it.

The halo had stayed with Grian's half, but it had one wing.

Grian smiled « Come on, it's yours now. » He murmured.

Mumbo closed his eyes, and pressed it against his chest like he just saw Grian do.

It was a weird feeling. He shifted back to human, as usual, but it was… different, somehow.

A good different, but nothing like it had ever been before.

Grain chirped - as he often did - but he… understood him?

« Change! »

« I'm sorry? » He whispered, confused.

Grian ignored him. « You've changed! You don't look like usual! » He said.

« I- Grain? » Mumbo fiddled with his sleeves, « I think I understood that chirp… »

Grain blinked, then chirped again and tackled him in a hug.

hi, I just want to ask; What compelled you to make that Romeo and Juliet quiz

i’d wanted to make a r&j personality quiz for a bit- hell, when i opened uquiz to make it i realized i already had a drafted version saved over a year ago, but it had no questions, just the title. i considered making it like, a normal quiz, but… i didn’t think anyone would really get it y’know? it’d probably be seen by a couple people, be just some random quiz, and everyone would move on.

i love romeo and juliet, and i want other people to too. if i made it normal, only people who already liked it would get it. i reblogged my original post with some tags of people reacting to it pretty quick too, to try and show yknow, it’s more than what it says on the tin, because i figured if i’m some random person whose only understanding of r&j is pop culture stuff, i’m not gonna click on a personality quiz for it. there’s only like, two characters anyone knows, and unfortunately the common perception of them is just stupid teenagers.

thing is, i had no ideas for questions for a while. none at all. the other day, though, i remembered that post circulating that was a screenshot of a quiz someone made where, iirc, the question was “you are orpheus” and the only option was “turn around.” and the idea popped into my head immediately for “do you believe in free will” with the only option being “no.” going only off that idea i rode the hyperfixation and created that quiz! i made the questions in whatever order and then rearranged them so that they got… for lack of a better term, worse as they went on.

oh, and two things i haven’t yet mentioned! first off, i was gonna include an obligatory song lyric question at first, but uh… i could only come up with two answers lol. they were “it ain’t about all the friends you made but the graffiti they write on your grave” for mercutio and “raised in the city in the halo of lights product of war and fear that we’ve been victimized” for tybalt.

the other thing is uh. i thought the quiz was funny lol. like some heavy themes and stuff but the free will question was hilarious to me lol. idk ive just… never really been bothered by whether it’s A Thing or not? the way i see it is: if we have it, then great! we can do whatever! if we don’t have it, then whatever! we’ll be doing stuff anyways! as for the character descriptions and things, i literally was just describing the characters in second person and changing some things to be more generic (i.e. changing “she” to “they” in the nurse’s description so that instead of referring to juliet it could be about anyone)

just saying if you can’t l0se we!ght and you’re complaining it’s just because you’re either not disciplined enough or don’t have enough self control. (unless your life circumstances literally don’t allow it) i’m l0sing about 1!b per day (give or take depending on water intake) due to pretty 8 much factors. SORRY I TALK SO MUCH 😦

1. keep your e@ting window as small as possible aka eat to live don’t live to eat (the r3xie motto 🤪). i’m f@sting minimum 16:8 and i try to extend that. but major thing is don’t beat yourself up if you can’t make it 16hrs and be happy the days you can make it longer!! esp if your just starting out.

2. stay low c@l. i’m trying my best to stay under 500 c@l/day. and consume that how it works for you. if five 100 c@l snacks over 8 hrs work best some days that’s ok. if OMAD works best, great! my mom is a dietitian and i promise, eating a little of each food group (dairy, carb ik scary, protein, veg & fruit) will help your metab which in the long run will help you l0se more weight.

3. don’t do long term fasts. i’d say up to a week with liquids is okay. but long term fasts can lower your metabolism, deplete electrolytes, and sodium, which long term is going to bloat you, keep weight on, and overall make you feel like shit (which could lead to hospitalization)

4. don’t eat refined sugar or refined foods. do literally AS MUCH AS YOU CAN to eat sugar free and whole foods. i have a major sweet tooth so i turn to sugar free jello/pudding, sf caramels, halo top ice cream if i REALLY need it. otherwise i do sweet fruit and veggie based substitutions for carbs. i use cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles, or there’s these great hearts of palm noodles.

5. eat tons of fiber!! i add unflavored benefiber to a lot of my drinks (the flavored ones have added sugar). i honestly could promise you that fiber will help with shedding !bs.

6. drink as much water as you possibly can. yes you can become over-hydrated so add electrolytes or legit just a lil salt to your water here n there. but your body is going to retain water (!bs), and bloat if you are dehydrated.

7. stay distracted! discipline and hunger may hurt now, regret and guilt are going to hurt 50x worse later. get some motivational phrases, tactics, distractions, that work for you and RELY ON THEM. water, i use mio in mine when i’m desperate, gum, diet soda, bubbly water, reading, tv, ANYTHING. i have other reblogs with some good motivational tactics. i also look at th!nspø as well as pics of my own body multiple times per day to keep me on track.

1. My besties. They are like my family at this point and I love them very much. I get to see two of them today :D

2. Tumblr in general but especially my mutuals. Ageless you have made me laugh or smile and made things better with a post a fair few fucking times and yeah, you make me happy.

3. My kitten kats. I have seven; Boo, Hank, Daisy, Smudge, Sammy, Nala and Jacqueline. They are too precious for this world.

4. Halo. Halo makes me happy. I grew up playing it, I have owned every generation of xbox throughout my life and it is a part of me now.

5. Ao3. It has the ability to make things better or hurt you just right with the angst and gut punch you in the feels. It also makes me incredibly happy. Especially cause one of my besties and I both know we read Ao3 and we bond over the stuff the rest of the group just doesn't understand. Like she understands how one scene in one fic has created a hatred for ODSTs. Completely irrational but its there and she gets me.

Glaze is working less-than-perfectly. It might be the style, something about those flat colours and the detailed gold edging/overlay. I haven't done what I need to get it to run on GPU, but that's just supposed to make it faster. I'm willing to put up with the artifacts for Tumblr and the site - I guess - but it's demotivating to have to make my art crappier so it won't be used for evil. I wanted to give all this stuff away to human beings, ya know?

Anyways, this took me forever, and I drew part of it on a boat! Mixter Poor-Fine-Motor-Skills draws just as well while rolling with the waves! Oh, I wanna live on a boat soooo bad right now. Of the housing options we can afford, that seems the most awesome. I will be back to tell you about my two nights on Fort Autism when I have more spoons for it.

Honestly, I think half of why it took me so long is how wrong Erik looks. He should look wrong - David doesn't belong there and he needs to GTFO - but it's freakin me out, man.

My ambition is to give every Invisible their own little halo, so you can tell them apart no matter who they're wearing. I'm so bad at keeping up with the illustrations and I get so easily frustrated that I don't know if I'll manage. (I have another eye appointment at the end of April. Saw someone posting on a halo ttrpg subreddit about making vehicles for battlemaps but there were no comments so I left one saying I really liked the design of their warthog and was showing it to friends to use in a halo ttrpg we’re tentatively planning, and they told me that they had given up because they weren’t loving how a lot of stuff was turning out but that they were gonna go back to making the art and trying again and like!!

I know there’s a lot of posts on here that are like “reblog and comment on peoples art or they’re gonna stop making art😡” and Im usually kinda whatever about em but damn it really does have an effect on people, especially people who’ve gotten little or no positive feedback, to go “hey I like this thing you did! Excited to see what else you do like it”
