If I had a nickel for every time somebody at work went way out of line and was completely disrespectful to my entire department and we all said “I wish we had a real HR department” I could afford to quit this job and not care about how much I love my department

#somebody’s gonna quit soon #and I don’t want it to be me #but the stress of this unchecked assholery is making me physically ill #I have been nauseous this entire week because of seriously inappropriate interactions #that are going completely unhandled because we don’t have real HR #and it’s not sustainable #for me as an individual OR for the institution #so I’m going to try to set a boundary #but if it is completely ignored #then the result of that is that I will have to leave #there has to be an observable consequence at some point #and if that consequence is not a modification of behavior #then it will have to be valuable staff leaving #and I’m a lot harder to replace than she is….#so we’ll see what it comes down to
