Since the Barbarian Armor is very unlikely connected to the Zonai And since the Wolfbred lived in ancient Faron (West Faron, or Old Ordona) I'm sticking the Barbarian Armor on my ancient Wolfbred Why? Because I can.
This is the only description of the armor in game, and I have a tribe of warriors from Faron.
#deal with me#hyrule's final stand#wolfbred line#wolfbred#wolfbred lore#it will be primarily war/hunting/etc armor#I have a ceremonial/daily life idea too#plus Rinku has a more “appropriate for Hyrulean interactions” outfit that's more akin to traveling and Central Hyrule's cooler climate#this week has been one of those “oh. so this is why people drink.” weeks#and the Wolfbred being the “barbarians” that used the armor in ancient times makes me happy#so the Wolfbred get to have the barbarian armor#sponsored partially by the fact that I wanted a more wolf-like skull with this exact design for Rinkū's hunting gear#Maybe his wife can have one more like the game's helm

“We should get married.”
The question in and of itself is a strange one, made more so for the fact that it’s coming from Zoro of all people – and the fact that he’s asking you in the middle of a fight. Your back is pressed against his, the heat of his skin seeping into your clothes – and you wonder if he’s gotten hit in the head too many times. Or thrown through too many things – too much of something.
“Are you seriously saying that right now?” Your tone is incredulous as you swing your weapon, scowling as you watch another enemy drop with a cry and a splatter of blood. “We’re a little busy right now, aren’t we?”
Zoro grins, expression manic with the deepened shadows of his face from his bandana, adjusting to place the hilt of Wadou Ichimonji in his mouth. “Is that a yes?”
You have the brief moment of considering knocking Zoro out for your opponent – clearly his daily naps out in the sun have baked his brain more than you previously thought. “No!”
–
The question doesn’t turn out to be borne from a brain-based injury flaring up, because Zoro doesn’t let the subject go. He bides his time, waiting about two weeks from when he first asked before he tries again.
This time, the stars are a witness to his buffoonery – now fueled by the bottles of sake he seems to have squirreled away everywhere on the Thousand Sunny. You watch as he tips the bottle to his lips, the brief shimmer of liquid that beads at his lips before it disappears as he swallows.
“We should get married,” he says, and this time, you scoff. It isn’t one of disdain, rather of amusement as you wait for the alcohol induced flush to rise to his cheeks. “‘m serious, you know.”
“No,” you counter softly as you scoot closer to him, reaching up to wipe a drop of sake from the corner of his lips and bring it to your own for a taste. As ever, his own choices in alcohol seem to be tailored for him and him alone – sake still isn’t your thing. “You’re drunk.”
Zoro hums, eye flicking from the night sky above to you. “Is that a yes?”
You press your lips to his warm cheek. “Ask me again when you’re sober.”
–
The third time that he asks, he’s waited so long that you’ve almost forgotten that he ever asked in the first place. After all, Roronoa Zoro has never seemed like someone interested in the intimate entanglement of marriage – you have absolutely no clue what has possessed him to suddenly ask you with this kind of tenacity.
“We should get married,” he says, and you resist the urge to sigh as you stare at him, his head pillowed against your thigh. Below the shade of Nami’s tangerine trees, you can hear Luffy’s bright laughter intermingled with Usopp and Franky’s.
This time you aren’t in the middle of a fight, nor is he drunk. This time, you take a moment to study his face, the dapple of sunlight through waxy green leaves, the scent of citrus in the air. You love him, you’re sure of that – as sure as you’ve been of anything in your life.
“We’re pirates,” you answer, tapping your fingers against his cheek in an echoed rhythm of one of Brooke’s songs from the night before. “Pirates don’t get married.”
“Sure they do.” He’s watching you now, with the kind of intensity he usually only reserves for battle, and you look away. “Captains can officiate marriages. I asked Robin about it.”
You blink and let your attention shift to Luffy for a minute – you love your captain, you do. But the idea of him being serious about much of anything beyond what matters to him (food, his crew’s safety, finding the One Piece – in that order) makes you giggle. You can’t imagine him officiating something like a marriage.
“What if I want a ceremony?” Your fingers find his cropped green hair, stroking gently across his scalp. “Those are expensive.”
He shrugs. “We’d find a way. I’m sure Nami would help.”
Your lips curve in an amused smile for a moment before it dims at the edges. “It’d be dangerous,” you point out, and he answers with a short bark of laughter.
“Not any more than shit we’ve already faced.”
“Rings?”
“We don’t need that fancy stuff.”
Your smile fades completely, hand stilling in his hair. “Why do you think we should get married?”
There must be an edge to your tone now, because Zoro refocuses on you, all signs of mirth gone. “Because we love each other, right? Sounds like the next logical step.”
Your gaze hardens. “So you’re asking because you think we should? Or because you want to marry me?” He sits up, and you get to your feet.
“Is that a no?” he asks, and you pause.
“Ask me again when you figure things out, Zoro.”
–
“Marry me.”
This time, his voice is quiet. Soft and vulnerable – for the late hour or the intimacy of his bare skin against yours, you aren’t sure. His hand drifts up and down your back, counting the bumps of your spine over and over.
You shift against him, face nestled to rest against his chest. “Zoro–”
“I’ve thought about it,” he cuts you off. “So just be quiet and listen, okay?” You don’t say a word, waiting for him to continue on his own. “I don’t want to marry you just because I think that I should, I want us to get married because you...you mean a lot to me. You’re important to me, and I –” He pauses, struggling. This kind of thing is not Zoro’s forte, you both know that – but after a moment, he resumes. “I don’t see myself being like this with anyone but you. I don’t want to be like this with anyone but you. Just want you.” A moment of silence, hearts beating in tandem.
You move, adjusting enough that you can look at him properly, the gleam of moonlight against his face. And you kiss him. Slow and sweet, eyes sliding shut as you linger for as long as you can before you pull away.
“Marry me,” he repeats.
This time, you don’t squawk at him like he’s crazy. You don’t accuse him of being drunk, don’t deflect him for fear that he’s doing it because he thinks he should, not that he wants to. This time, you smile.
“Yes,” you answer. “I’ll marry you.”

no one else to turn to — aemond targaryen x sister-wife!reader
masterlist | day 16 (@angstober) — no one else to turn to
summary: in aemond’s mind, everything he did, he did to protect his family. what he didn’t realize was how much he was hurting them in the process.
word count: 2.3k
warnings: angst. targaryen incest (brother/sister). arranged marriage. sexism. reader is one of the greens (i’m not though). slight reader x aegon, if you squint. no use of y/n. not proofread.
You were more than somebody’s wife, somebody’s sister, somebody’s daughter or somebody’s grandchild. That’s what the men in your life constantly failed to understand. You were a person before you were, involuntarily, theirs.
The matter at hand wasn’t your right to an opinion, but a right to your very own identity.
Somehow, all of the sentences coming out of your brother’s mouth began with “as a child of…”, “as the sister of…”, always justifying how you should be by taking the men in your life and putting their wellbeing and their thoughts above your own. it was degrading and belittled you, not as a Targaryen Princess — which, make no mistake, you most certainly were — but as a human being worth of the same rights as any men.
You stomped angrily towards your sister’s room, eager to share your frustrations. It wasn’t until you were inside that you were reminded she’d be very little conversational. All your worries faded momentarily when you saw Helaena curled up on the couch, a green duvet in her hands and gaze lost in the distance.
It was only a few weeks since the terror she was put through with her children. She looked so small now, and she was barely older than you.
You sat next to her, but didn’t touch her. Before the terrible events, Helaena already disliked being touched. Now, you didn’t even want to risk it. Poor girl, she didn’t deserve all this sorrow and stress.
“Sister”, you called, quietly, trying to enter her vision camp. “Sister, it’s me”.
“She won’t talk right now”.
Your mother’s voice came from the entry, and she was elegant as always. The grief clothing she wore for your father and nephew suited her. As you turned to look at her, your back straightened instantly. Your memory of tedious suppers during which she would tap your leg to fix your posture was immediate, and you didn’t want to relieve it.
She approached the both of you, and sat near Helaena without saying a word. You wondered if this was her daily ritual.
“I believed you’d be at your brother’s side, dear”, the Queen Alicent said to you, without taking her eyes off Helaena. She passed her hands through the disheveled hair of the current Queen, and you realized you hadn’t responded.
“I was”, you began, unsure whether it would be wise to continue. Not because of your family, but of the servants. Anything could go back to your brother and, depending on his mood, even the kindest words spoken about him would do you more harm than good.
Your mother raised her brown eyes to meet yours, “I see”.
Your gaze moved from your mother to your sister back and forth, before deciding this room was much too crowded. You excused yourself, filled with a new sense of horror as you left the room. Even the Queen couldn’t be protected, so what hope was there for the common woman?
You walked slowly back to your chambers, which were joined with your husband’s. You were just shy of six-and-ten at the day of your wedding, and your mother was adamant that there would be no bedding ceremony.
Your husband, then, in an unusual act of selflessness and kindness, chose to wait a while, until it was you who came to him. The joined room’s were his idea after the first night you spent together. That way you could have your space and still come to him, and have him come to you, too.
In that aspect, you were lucky. When Helaena was pregnant, she talked more, and she mentioned Aegon would be in and out of her in five minutes, and only every other night. What an awful relationship.
Yet, Aegon was still your brother, and he was severely wounded after the Battle of Rook’s Rest that took Princess Rhaenys’ life. You weren’t close to her, but you knew her, and she was always kind to you. It was a terrible loss caused by this senseless war.
According to your dearest brother, though, you didn’t have a clue as to what was necessary to the Realm.
The memory of it made you tear the necklace you were wearing and throw it against a wall. Your maid called your name, and she probably saw you as a petty, annoying Princess right now, throwing a tantrum like a child.
You stilled your breath, and turned towards her. “Please make arrangements for me to see the King this afternoon”, you told her. You hated giving orders. That was something your brother Daeron wrote about to you constantly.
Later that day, you still had your family in your mind. How did you all become such a mess?
You practically tiptoed inside Aegon’s chambers, unsure to what he’d be, look or act like. You hadn’t seen him since before the battle, and all you knew your mother and husband had told you. Apparently, he looked terrible, felt a lot of pain and was but a shell of who he used to be.
When you found his figure, laying on the bed, you realized they had been too kind in describing his state.
He was burnt in a way you had never seen before, and it went down to his body beneath the covers. His hair had mostly fallen, and his ear melted to his ear. The pain he must have felt… You felt awful. There had to be something you could do to ease him. He wasn’t a wise man, nor was he the most galant, but he was your big brother.
“What are you doing here?”, he said with difficulty, before you could even open your mouth.
You looked into his eyes, the violet of it paler than ever. Before you could speak, you decided to sit at the chair by his bedside, so you weren’t looking down on him.
“I had no one else to turn to”, you decided to tell him the truth. He remained quiet, but you saw something shift in his gaze at the realization he was still needed, and not useless. You let your head drop to your hands, feeling ridiculous to be complaining to a man who had just survived dragon fire and the loss of a child.
Still, the tears began to fall.
“You may talk”.
At his bed, burnt beyond recognition, without a crown — that was the first time you saw Aegon as a King.
Your head raised, and you wiped away your tears. Before you began, your back instinctively straightened.
“Mother is… well, mother”, you both let out a breathy laugh. “She’s deeply unhappy, brother. Daeron hasn’t sent news in over a fortnight, and Helaena is…”.
“I think it’s best if we skip over my dear wife, sister”, his gazer turned away from you. You felt honesty in his tone in a way you hadn’t ever. “I don’t know, and never knew, how to comfort my wife”.
“Marriage is tricky, is it not?”, you tried to lighten the mood, making a small jest. However, Aegon didn’t laugh.
“I’m sorry I didn’t fight harder for you”.
Your confusion must have been clear, because he continued, even though it clearly hurt for him to speak. “You were just a child, and you were thrown into a man’s bed, which can be quite the insalubrious environment, as I have been made aware. It kills me to think what married life must be for you and Helaena”.
“It wasn’t your fault”, you said, with sincerity too. “You were a kid, and you were thrown into all this. We deserved better, brother”.
You didn’t want him to cry anymore than you wanted to cry yourself. When you saw the tears in his eyes, you stood up and kissed the top of his head. A gesture of fraternity.
A sound came from the door, and when you turned, you saw the man who was the object of many conversations you had lately.
Aemond Targaryen was a complicated man, with more nuance to him than poetry, and sharper than a dagger. Your older brother who, at adolescence, took you as his wife before the Seven and, later, in a Valyrian ceremony for your family.
The fear that emanated from Aegon as soon as he saw Aemond was perceptible. You had no idea what happened amongst them, and as much as you wished to find out, you knew some things were out of your reach, even with deep curiosity.
“My love”, Aemond greeted you with a kiss on the cheek, as if nothing happened earlier. He then looked over to Aegon, taking his hands and kissing them gently. “My dear brother”.
Aegon was quiet now, still afraid.
Aemond’s hand found the small of your back as he guided you outside, not letting you say goodbye. He said it for you before the door slammed behind you, and Aegon was left alone inside once more.
“What were you doing in there?”, he demanded to know, the hand that laid carefully on your back now grabbing your arm as he walked with you in the direction of your joined chambers.
There was a part of you that refused to talk, whilst the other wanted nothing more than to rub his face in… in whatever that with Aegon was. Unfortunately, mysterious didn’t do it for you.
“Conversing with my brother, the King, who is severely injured and in need of company”, you spatted.
“I know he is injured”, Aemond grunted.
“Of course you do, after all, you were there”, you replied as coldly as you could. He turned to you immediately, his one lilac eye almost in flames.
“What are you implying?”, he said between gritted teeth.
“Absolutely nothing”. You moved your face closer to his, letting him see you smile.
You didn’t fight often with Aemond. He was your husband, your older brother and you loved him dearly… Most of the time. Today, though, today he pissed you off — and you had earned the right to piss him off right back.
“Certainly you do not think me capable of any sort of con or coup, my love”, the irony that flooded in your voice was unfamiliar even to yourself. “After all, I am but a woman”, you mirrored his words from earlier that day, when you were called upon by the Small Council to fight alongside your husband and brother. Your refusal made Aemond cruel towards you, battering words you’d never thought you’d hear from the man who shared your bed.
His one eye closed, and he let go of your arm, that would surely be bruised for days from the sheer strength he held you. You let out a long breath as your husband approached the opposite side of the corridor, the one with a view to the Winter Garden. From the garden, you could hear your mother’s voice. The long sleeved black dress you wore, with gold, green and red details, was enough to cover whichever bruises you might have. From this ridiculous exchange with Aemond or any other affair.
You sighed profusely, both from tiredness and to get Aemond’s attention. His head turned a little to look over his shoulder, but he didn’t make eye contact.
“Am I excused?”, you broke the silence, annoyed still. “Or am I to watch as you pout like a child looking for mother?”
He turned so quickly towards you his hair made a whoosh sound. He pointed one finger at you, lips pressing against each other, and then threw his hands in the air.
“I don’t know what you want from me, woman!”, he exclaimed, turning around once more so your eyes didn’t meet his.
It was wiser to let him vent at this moment instead of making another remark, so you waited for him to continue.
“All I do, I do for you”, he lowered his tone, still avoiding your gaze. “And yet, here you are. An unappreciative, ungrateful little girl”.
“Mind your tongue”, you said, feeling your blood boil. You squeezed your eyes, hand still on the arm he handled with such force earlier. “I am not a whore you visit whenever you please and talk as you please, I am the daughter of King Viserys Targaryen and sister of King Aegon Targaryen. You will not speak to me this way”.
You’d never heard silence quite this loud.
“If I cannot count on you, Aemond, then who will I turn to?”
“You can count on me to defend you, sister, but…”
“Who will defend me from you, brother?”, you interrupted him, letting the frown between your eyebrows grow. “Who will stand up for me when you bring me down in front of those pampered men thinking they can order me and my dragon around, not knowing the first thing from either me or Silverwing?”
Aemond straightened his back. He looked cold, distant at your firm tone. What an interesting sight it was for any servant who passed at the moment. The Prince Regent and his wife, in a staring match at the halls.
There was an old saying that whenever a Targaryen is born, the gods toss a coin, and the whole world holds their breath to see which way would it land: greatness or madness.
There was another thing about Targaryens, as you came to realize. The terrible loneliness. None of you had, truly had, one another. You heard the rumors about Daemon and Rhaenyra. You saw before your own eyes Aegon and Helaena. You knew the stories about what your father did to the late Queen Aemma, who was as much of a Targaryen as any of you.
You loved your husband. That was exactly why it pained you so to realize you had no one else to turn to.

— Voicelines about Creator!Reader (Inazuma) ♡ !
⊹ [ characters ] — Ayaka, Ayato, Ei, Gorou, Heizou, Itto, Kazuha, Kokomi, Sara, Sayu, Shinobu, Thoma, Yae Miko & Yoimiya. ◞
⊹ [ synopsis ] — let's see what they think about you. ◞
⊹ [ cw ] — religious themes. ◞
⠀‣ Ayaka
About The Creator: Divine Presence
"It's always a pleasure to have Our God blessing the festivities we prepared with their presence, the sun and moon appear to shine brighter when they're here, and the people happier. It surely makes me happy to see them enjoying the festival..."
About The Creator: Consort
"As an Acolyte and a member of the Kamisato clan, it is a great honor to be Their Grace's consort... But if I may tell my more personal feelings, I feel at ease with Y/n, like I can be myself, I don't feel like people want to know more about us beyond our positions, but when we're together we don't have any titles separating us. Have you seen the beautiful scenery of the sun at dawn dazzling on Inazuma? Their smile are alike."
⠀
⠀‣ Ayato
About The Creator: Divine Ceremonies
"It is the duty of the Yashiro Commission to held festivities in Their Grace's name, such as welcoming parties, the day of their descent, and birthday of course, while trying to fit their taste. With all due respect, I have to say their opinions are quite interesting... You see, playing tcg wouldn't be the first idea I'd have for an official ceremony."
About The Creator: Consort
"Hm... So you wish to know more about our union? I suppose I can share with you a few things. We sadly don't have much time for each other as we're quite busy with our own matters, therefore I try to express my feelings in letters and presents. They did tell me it was useless to spoil them with such 'overexpensive' gifts, but... the sight of their lovely face trying to suppress a smile won't ever stop to amuse me... Besides, no price comes close to my love for Y/n."
⠀
⠀‣ Raiden Shogun
About The Creator: Remaining Soul
"Their body may have perished, but their creations never have once forgot about them. Now, they have been reincarnated into this fragile body, but they are slowly regaining their power as it has remained into the memory of the land. This is eternity at its purest form."
⠀‣ Ei
About The Creator: Consort
"Ah, my exceptional lover. In many ways they have changed my daily routine, I tried things I would never have done before, that I considered futile for my quest of pursuing eternity. But they made me realized even the smallest actions, no matter if they last for long or not, can bring an eternal feeling to one, for exemple the pleasure of eating a dessert is temporary, but the memory of its delicious taste will always be unchanging and bring happiness to the one remembering it. I accepted their proposal as a promise that by my side they shall remain joyful forevermore."
⠀
⠀‣ Gorou
About The Creator: Prayers
"I have heard few of my soldiers praying that none of their comrades or themselves would die before any serious battles or missions, I'm not really a religious person but I can't blame them, if this help them to have courage then why not?"
About The Creator: Consort
"They have brought a lot of help to Watatsumi Island, and that was even before we get together! What I love about them is that they're always so caring with whoever, they're so kind-hearted... They have lots of others qualities too, they're beautiful, funny, cunning, and the list goes on. They also must have some sort of magic in their hands, always finding my best spot to rub... H-hm, that st-stay between us, of cou-rse, I don't want them to tease me about it..."
⠀
⠀‣ Heizou
About The Creator: An interesting Case
"Quite the intriguing person, aren't they? I'm not really into godly affairs but I have to admit that them waking up with not only no memories of their past life but new ones from another world is quite...hm, intriguing."
About The Creator: Consort
"They truly have no shame for playing and stealing the heart of a member of the Tenryou Commission, they used my own tricks to make me fall over heels for them and now I don't think I can recover. Sadly their title make it impossible for me to arrest them and make them face justice, but that doesn't mean I can't teach them a lesson with my own ways..."
⠀
⠀‣ Itto
About The Creator: Ultimate Battle
"I didn't think much of them before they challenged me to a duel of tcg! Of course, I accepted it, I'm not the one to run away from a challenge and people from everywhere knows them, winning against them means that everyone will know the name of Arataki 'The Ultimate TCG Champion' Itto, ha! The one who defeated The Creator with no fear, people would never dare to fight me again, as the simple mention of my name strikes fear into my opponents, hehe... Huh? Did I actually beat them? Well... not yet, but it's only a matter of time before glory fall upon me!"
About The Creator: Consort
"The wha-? Oh yeah, sorry, I'm not used to call them that, I mostly use 'My ultimate bro', 'My one and oni', 'My onikaboo-boo', 'Cutie-sweetie-you-wish-you-had-them-ie-but-you-can't-because-this-lovely-is-the-lover-of-this-oni'. But yeah, they're fantastic, they help me to get out of jail, though sometimes they say I deserve it and leave me there... But besides that, they're an excellent cuddle buddy, always knowing how to brush my hair and horns not too delicately but not too rou-... Hey! What are you laughing at? Oh... So you think that's funny that the fierce leader of the Arataki gang have a cuddle buddy? Pff... I don't care what you think and I'm sure you're just jealous."
⠀
⠀‣ Kazuha
About The Creator: Independence
"Everywhere I go their name is on everyone's lips, I have heard they were kind and thoughtful, but what I recall best is their free spirit and wish to explore all of Teyvat, including the people but the responsibilities they have to shoulder prevent them from realizing their ambitions... Like a bird in a cage."
About The Creator: Consort
"To be truthful with you, I was hesitant of this offer, I love them with all my heart more than anything else, but what does being a consort means? I wanted to continue my life with the loving carefree spirit I fell in love with not The Creator, I was concerned that we would be tied by others' expectations and wouldn't be able to live our life freely. But... they know me best and reassured me that none of this would happen. I'll be forever grateful that our paths met, they know how to comfort me."
⠀
⠀‣ Kokomi
About The Creator
"It is difficult to know whom can you put your trust in, and if so how much amount. The Creator have proven we can trust them to help Watatsumi Island, and as its Divine Priestess I'm deeply thankful to what they have done for us. But I started to fully trust them when I discussed with them, their help didn't have any other intention than just being an act of kindness... I'm slightly concerned that others will abuse of their sympathy, but I'll be there in case that happens."
⠀
⠀‣ Sara
About The Creator
"The Raiden Shogun and myself are both Acolytes of The Creator, and since The Shogun worships them I shall give them my undying loyalty and forever assist them. Even if... their casual personality and peculiar behavior during official ceremonies is quite questionable for a God..."
⠀
⠀‣ Sayu
About The Creator
"I heard about them but only saw them once, I saw their hand going towards my head so I quickly avoided it, turned out they wanted to ruffle my hair, unlike head pats I don't think it will stop me from growing so I let them, but that made me feel even more sleepy."
⠀
⠀‣ Shinobu
About The Creator
"I have to thank them for saving us from difficult situations which even I couldn't do anything. The gang really love them especially the Boss, they're easy going and it's easy to forget they're the most superior being in all of Teyvat, they could have been one of us but of course their position doesn't allow them, but like the Boss said they're an official-but-not-really-member-of-The-Arataki-gang."
⠀
⠀‣ Thoma
About The Creator: Fun Activities
"They're very different from The Shogun, they don't really seek for an ideal like the Archons, they just simply want to enjoy life in Teyvat, haha... They've surprised me with asking if they could play the hotpot game, and I can tell you it was very fun, though I really need to pay attention to what ingredients I put... The others would probably kill me if Y/n even just has a small brain freeze, hehe..."
About The Creator: Consort
"Yes, I've heard people saying 'how can they marry a simple housekeeper?' and I have to say I wonder the same, ahaha... They're so lovely and a kind-hearted soul, I still can't believe they proposed to me, it feels like a dream when I'm with them. And we're partners in crimes when it comes to feeding and petting every stray animals in Inazuma, if you saw how easily they attract animals, it took me days to explain to every pet owners why did their pet suddenly disappeared..."
⠀
⠀‣ Yae Miko
About The Creator: Divine inspiration
"Ah yes, they're a great inspiration and pretty much all of our books related to them sell like hotcakes, we're currently on the 3rd volume of 'Divine Expressions for Dummies', we also do novels that are loosely based on them, 'Next thing I knew... I was a Deity', 'Me and My 100 Spouses' and one of my favorites is 'The Fake God' it is quite the tragedy and not the happiest book, but the end where the main character has their revenge is... satisfying."
About The Creator: Consort
"My, my, curious, aren't you? I can't really blame you, an individual like Y/n is quite the partner, a boring moment doesn't last long with them, they're just so fun to tease and their hands are very soft a perfect recommendation for everyone with fur. Hm? Everyone keeps telling you about how good they pet them? Oh well, I guess I can't blame those people, but I'll have to discuss this with Y/n when I see them..."
⠀
⠀‣ Yoimiya
About The Creator: A Shared Enthusiasm
"Y/n! Have you seen them? They're always so busy... Sometimes they come to buy me fireworks whenever if they want to keep it as a souvenir of Inazuma or asking me if we can use them together. Fireworks don't need to wait for festivals to be used, and what is cool is that with Y/n no one dares to contradict them and tell us when and where we can't do fireworks, ahh... I hope I'll see them again soon."
About The Creator: Consort
"Unbelievable, right? If we have told me I would marry a God one day I would've laugh at them. When I met Y/n I didn't even know about their true identity, but lemme tell you, them creating Teyvat and all is the least interesting part about them, they're sweet and fun, they always tell stories about their other world and the kids and I love them so much. And they share my passion for fireworks! We're planning to do the biggest fireworks show that can be seen in all of Teyvat at the same time, even if they're lots of things we didn't consider but the thought is beautiful, isn't it? Aha... Also when I told pops about me and Y/n he couldn't stop smiling for the whole week! Though, I'm not sure if he understood the part that I told it was 'The Creator'."

Wish Granted Magic System ✨✨✨
Given that we're two chapters away from the halfway point of the story, its about to time I delve into the magic system of this AU.
So magic in this AU is powered through emotion. The more a person feels a certain emotion, the more it affects the magic they use daily. Let's start off with...
Magnifico and Amaya's Magic: 🐺🐍✨
Both of them have studied magic for years, together and apart. However, they still developed their own techniques to use it.
• Magnifico's magic is fueled by negativity and hate. (its a bit obvious, lol) He's been searching for a way to have ultimate power for years. And each time he's failed, that disappointment has fueled him. The angrier he is towards somebody or someone, the stronger it is. He learned to harness and control magic since his early 20's, and while it was substantial for the time, his desire to have more kept growing and growing until it became impossible to ignore. So much so that when he destroys his own home by accident, he's completely blind to his own destruction and blames the books for not giving him enough information. So he turns to dark magic.
•Dark magic gave Mags the boost he needed, but its still not enough. The more he becomes paranoid losing his power, and the more he gained power, he became more spiteful towards non-magic users. As Magnifico got older, his powers were solely used selfishly, under the guise of it helping others to get whatcha wants. Mags' magic is incredibly destructive when its not controlled, which is why Amaya keeps him in check. He could easily kill anyone with a snap of his fingers, or crushing a person's wish. He completely ignores the face that its slowly making him sick as well.
•Mags' magic specifically works well in deception, especially when it comes to stealing people's wishes, which is the polar opposite of Star's magic. And Star's magic terrifies him in a way. Mags uses magic on these performances during the Wish ceremonies to deceive people into thinking giving their wishes to him is a great thing. Its kind of like a parlor trick to hide the truth. However, mo matter how much he magic uses, its nothing compared to a star's. In fact, when Asha's father details his perceived connection to the stars, and how he feels they give him the power and inspiration to help others in his life, that's when the king got the idea to catch the magic of a star itself. He could finally achieve ultimate power! But he had to get rid of that damn philosopher first and make it look like an accident....
•Amaya's magic works with manipulation, both mental and physical. While she doesn't use her powers to the extent of her husband, she does aid him through the use of her potions. As a shout-out to Yzma, she keeps a collection of various potions in a large cabinet, and uses them when creating concoctions to give him the power boost to take a star from the skies. The other kinds deal with changing one living thing into another. Most of them were also animal experimentations, either to change unsavoury animals into ones she desired, or even changing their natural habits an entirely animal's, making said animal like other creatures.
• The Queen has always used her words of persuasion to get what she wanted. In most cases, she used her magic to make her words influence the minds of others. Amaya uses this to put the people at ease when they asked too many questions or started to worry about their wishes. She even used this on visiting royals from other countries, so that they didn't see or hear anything connected to the people's misfortune or rumors of the two being evil. This is why she was able to get into Star's head in chapter 6. She paid close attention to the pair's behavior around each other, and seeing part of herself and Magnifico in the two wanting to protect each other, she turned it against him. Adding a little bit of magic to it, he was completely influenced by her words.
•Amaya has used magic on Sabor, but not to harm him. (Sometimes she did heal him if he was sick or injured) Only so she could use him as a sort of watchdog, keeping an eye on any suspicious activity or possible traitors. (Which Sabor fully accepted) She created the "Sight Beyond Sight" type of spell so she could see what Sabor sees when he returns. This is how she trusted him to find the Hamlet without raising suspicion.
Star/Cosmo's magic 🌟😁
This fun ball of energy is indeed powerful, just as Magnifico feared, but he can't exactly do everything he wants. He has limits, which is mostly by his own imagination and a dash of classic Disney magic.
• Star's magic is fueled by all his emotions, but mostly joy. It can change depending on his emotions. When he's happy, all his magic reflects it. Joyful magic works on Disney classic energy, so talking animals, moving furniture, shape shifting into various creatures and even his human form are all homages to the past films. He can't turn into different people, so this form he usually is in is it. Mostly because he's had a wish to be a human on Earth for so long, he just took his astral look and applied human characteristics to it. Its also rear unusual for a star nomad to get attached to one place instead moving from place to place. As for other emotions, he feels them like the fairies from Peter Pan: one at a time. When he's sad, he's miserable. When he's angry, its absolute fury. But the longer he stays on Earth, they start to get more complex dealing with humans, since we can feel several emotions at once. Which is also why its a slow process for him to realize his love for Asha is different from his love for Earth.
•Like the rest of the star nomads, he has flight and its powered by thinking happy thoughts. That's incredibly easy for him, so it's why he can fly so high and quickly. However, he starts to slow down after Magnifico stabs him and takes a little of his power in chapter 7. He's only just a little faster than a human, and it kind of bothers him not being able to move as quickly. And he starts getting used to walking, which is unusual for a star nomad to do instead of flying.
• Star's shapeshifting can be done as long as he can clearly think of the animal he wants. He's seen animals from all over the world, but the catch is that he can't perfectly replicate one. He's always yellow with a white tuft of hair so he doesn't blend in with other animals. Plus Star can add or exaggerate different features as well. He can't turn into extinct animals like dinosaurs because he's never seen them.
There will be another post explaining more about the star nomads and how their different from "royal stars". It'll also come up later to explain why Star isn't a prince like most other Disney male leads. Its really the only insecurity he has.
And more art is coming, plus the Royal redesigns! Then I'll get started on chapter 9. 😉
Thanks for reading!

I love the small things about Warframe's design so much. Like, the Duviri architecture.
[Spoilers!]
The houses obviously are just wall parts of the Zariman, arranged to look like settlements/towns. The same goes for many of the harvestable plants, that also mimic Zariman design elements (especially noticeable with the cactus-like Ueymag, that has an unnaturally symmetrical shape, mimicking the often repeated tuning fork-shape).
Duviri has multiple bioms, plains, snowy mountains, a desert, but they are all way too small to exist naturally.
All this paints the picture of a world created by the mind of a child, who might have never seen anything else but the inside of a spaceship. They might have never seen other architecture, so all houses have to look like they were ripped straight out of the Zariman's structure. They know that mountains and deserts exist, but they do not understand their scale, so they become just one more small piece of Duviri. Just like cartographs back in history they fill the unknown of their world with set pieces and the skeletal structures found all over Duviri lend themselves for a comparison to this "Here there be dragons" mindset.
Children build and recreate what they know all the time to learn and better understand it, but also to express their wishes and creativity. This gives the idea of a child, confined in space, wishing to get to be somewhere else, visiting the places they have heard of.
We get to see quite a few rather large settlements in Duviri, but the amount of houses and people does not seem to match. In general, only very few people seem to be roaming the streets. This is not an adult doing extensive worldbuilding, this is a child with a lot of building blocks but very few dolls building a world on which they can project their emotions and memories onto.
Most of Duviris normal inhabitants are just decorations, not existing to be characters, but because a town "needs to have people in it". They are not defined by who they are, but by what they do- and what they do is react to the player, sit around, talk and cower in fear when enemies approach.
The simple shapes of the buildings are very close to the concept of real life building blocks. Paedagogic toys often are simple, to allow for easy handling and more creative freedom.
The theme of death is also omnipresent. Every animal resembles a carcass build from metal plating and even the Dax enemies are skeleton-like, the Gladius' helmets lower part even resembling a rabbit skull. We obviously know how the story of the Zariman ended and the skulls and bones might be just an indicator of potential danger, but what if the skeletal design of Duviri's inhabitants are not supposed to indicate not (just) death, but an infinished state? They are walking skeletons, yet missing a skin, their shape, just like the fractured bodies of the townspeople, not fully formed out in the child's head. Since the townspeople are humanoid though, they look more finished, while all the child might have ever seen of sheep, cats, dogs, horses and owls could have very well been just pictures in a school book, maybe next to a diagram of their underlying anatomy (after all, one of the few things we get to experience of the daily life on the Zariman, is school).
There is also an enemy called the Dax Herald. A Herald was a specialist in ceremonies, making sure that they were held correctly (besides also having diplomativ tasks). Their head resembles a security camera, adding a layer of oppressive social norms normal humans certainly suffered under in the orokin empire

The Wakandan watches as you shuffled around the humongous library with your head focused on a book you were reading. It's honestly surprising how you weren't bumping into any shelves right now considering how you weren't even looking at where you're going.
You were doing your daily studies, but today instead of studying you got your head caught up in a book you've never seen before. Shuri insisted that she'd just follow you around since she didn't have anything particular to do in the palace. And she certainly did it want to get caught up in your mother's gossips.
Shuri leads back on the soft seated cushion, watching your every move. She tried reading a book you gave her earlier to keep her busy instead of just staring at you all the time, but the book bored her the second she read the first paragraphs.
Her mind then drifts off to the marriage proposal you got set up on. She's got to admit, even though it is too soon to judge, the prince did seem like a genuine nice guy. Who knows, maybe he got set up in the proposal as well.
Arranged marriage was common in your family. Your great grandparents were in an arranged marriage, and trust her when she says this; the marriage was not pretty.
She didn't know much about your parents marriage, but your mother and father seemed like to genuinely love eachother. Your father absolutely treasures your mother like she's gold, and your mother is full blown smitten with your father.
Sometimes those twos affection together made you and the Wakandan turn away in embarrassment.
Shuri truly didn't know how to feel about the proposal as well. Apart of her was displeased about the idea of you marrying someone else. What would happen if the ceremony happens? Would you two grow apart? Will you slowly start to love the prince and forget about her?
The Wakandan hopes not. She'll be destroyed if it did happen.
She doesn't want to place assumptions on the prince, the poor royal is already looked down by the both of you. Although if he ends up hurting you no matter if you didn't have a ring yet, she will make his life living hell.
No, not another war. Just simple threats thrown around the table.
But perhaps this marriage will benefit both nations. Still though, your feelings and opinions should matter, but sadly enough your mother couldn't respect that.
You snapped a finger infront of the Queen's face, snapping her out of her own thoughts that seemed to drown her big smart mind. The Wakandan hadn't realized she was staring, making you grow a smug look on your face.
"What's the my lovely Queen thinkin' about, hm?" You coyly questioned the girl, pressing the palm of your hand on the edge of the table, relying your weight on the posture as you leaned against the smooth surface. The said girl couldn't help but match your smug grin at the nickname you just called her.
"I'm thinking about the prince."
Your smugness immediately dropped at her bold words, the previous look being replaced with confusion. You masked the disappointment you're feeling by playfully pouting like a child.
"My Queen is thinking about someone else when I'm right here infront of her? How heartbreaking." You placed a hand over your heart, faking an ungraceful sob like a heartbroken teen. Shuri only laughs at your actions, amused, but then again it was something you'd do anyway.
"It's not in that way, Princess. Just thinking about if he's.. just fake or genuinely nice." At her response, you couldn't help but snort.
"That's not something you should worry about, lovely. Don't fret your pretty self over it." You retorted, placing a book you almost forgot you were holding on the tables smooth surface with a soft thud. The Wakandan couldn't help but put up a frown across her beautiful face, your words lingering in her head.
"But it is," at her words, you focused your attention on her, interested in what she has to say. "You're my friend.. best friend, (name). I care about you so much, even the general thinks it's too much. If you even get heartbroken by that man, I will end it for him." She mutters the threat, but you end up hearing it anyway.
Despite the threat, you couldn't help but feel touched by her words. You leaned on the table, grabbing her hands with your own as a close lipped smile casted on your face. "I care about you too. But I'm capable of handling myself, I promise you this. No man will ever be able to hurt me ever again." You strictly state.
The Wakandan Queen was still hesitant, but decided to agree with you. You were an independent and strong woman, you indeed are capable of yourself. But that doesn't stop her from worrying about you.
"Anyways, all this studying is starting to bore me." You muttered, fixing your posture immediately when you realized you were bending far too down in the table.
"You were barely studying, (name). You found a novel when you were looking for more books to study about, and then got hooked up by it the soon you opened it." The Queen snarkily remarks, and you huffed. You dislike it when she proves you wrong, but it is funny sometimes.
"Don't call me out like that, I deserved that book break, okay? Plus, I wanna spar." You state, watching as the Wakandan raise a brow, a challenging aura filling up the room from the two of you.
"Oh, you're asking the black panther to a spar? How cute." Shuri smirks slightly. You ignored her confident words, only mustering a challenging nod of your head. "Yes. You're more of a tough challenge to train with. I like tough challenges."
The Queen hums, raising a brow. "You do? Usually you whine and complain to me about it." You stiffened at her words, slightly glaring at her. "Don't go there."
"Aw, did your lovely Queen strike a nerve?"
"Save that damn confidence on training grounds!"
The Queen hurriedly stands up from her seat when you began chasing her around, her loud laughs echoing on the palace halls as you furiously chased after her, trailing right behind the Wakandan.
The palace workers only looked at you two confused as you dashed past them, amused by the boths childishness. The two of yours energy always managed to chase away the suffocating seriousness inside the palace interior, and that's why they like the Wakandan and yours duality so much.
You both were pretty much inseparable, even when you two are in different nations.

Victor
Story Event: Black Wedding (part 2)
Chapter 2
Chapter 1
We finally learn more juicy stuff about Victor, though it's still very vague. He sure is hawt when he threatens people.
~~Part 1~~
Having the freedom to do as we pleased, we spent our time leisurely, playing a couple of lovers.
―― or that's how it was supposed to look on the surface; avoiding prying eyes, Victor and I explored the inside of Amour's headquarters.
In this way, we learned two things.
One, that the bodies of the missing lovers were hidden in the basement.
Two, the believers were not involved, and the guru was the sole culprit.
Victor: "Kate, I got you some scones and pastries. And some wine!"
Victor: "I know it's daytime, but shall we have some?"
Kate: "Hehe, I can be persuaded to have a sip. Cheers."
(The only thing that keeps my heart from sinking when I sense the presence of death around me is that Victor is beside me like this)
Victor: "Just now, some of the girls were making bouquets for our wedding tomorrow."
Kate: "Really? Even if it's a fake wedding, it's a happy one."
Victor: "Hey, Kate."
Victor: "Do you want to get married one day?"
He asked me the way someone would say good morning or good night,
It was a natural and soft question, as if it were the continuation of a daily conversation.
(Do I want to get married one day, huh...?)
~~Part 2~~
Kate: "I'm not obsessed with the details of the ceremony itself, but the idea of marriage is certainly appealing."
Kate: "I think it'd be lovely to wear a wedding dress and say the vows..."
Kate: "Apologies, that's not a particularly witty answer."
Victor: "No, it's wonderful. I might tear up if I see you like this one day."
As he laughed, a light breeze ruffled his hair.
Victor: "Before I went on this mission, I wondered why people get married."
Victor: "As you said yourself, marriage is a ceremony that binds people together, right?"
Victor: "Still, why do so many lovers want that?"
Kate: "And what's your answer?"
Victor: "I see marriage as a promise to enjoy the future together."
Kate: "Promise...?"
Victor: "Life isn't all about fun. Sometimes, it can be painful and sad."
Victor: "...you remember that too, don't you?"
When I nodded, his eyes became soft.
Victor: "But even on such days, we can walk holding hands. Thinking about the good times that will surely return someday."
~~Part 3~~
(...Let’s wait for good times together, huh? That’s nice; it’s a very Victor-like way of thinking)
Victor was a genius at making good times happen.
He always brightened up the place, got people involved, and made them smile.....a larger-than-life kind of person.
However, I didn't think there was anyone who could just have fun in life.
Victor's fun must have been imbued with various pasts and experiences...
Kate: "Umm..."
Victor: "Yes?"
Kate: "Victor, do you ever share your pain and hardships with anyone?"
Victor: "Regrettably, as you can see, I don't have a lover and I'm not married. Look, my hand is still free, isn't it?"
He waved his hand and smiled.
Victor: "―― but I'm fine."
(...?)
Victor: "Because I, you see dear Kate, I may have tasted enough pain and suffering to last a lifetime."
Victor: "That's why I'm tired of being trapped by such things."
Victor: "That's why I am strongest right now! Oops, these scones are exquisite. Try them, Kate."
Kate: "Y-yes! Oh, that's true.... so fluffy!"
Victor: "Aren't they? I wonder what was added to make them like this. Let's ask later."
I was aware of the sudden change in the conversation, but pretended not to notice.
I was sure Victor knew about it.
Victor: "Right, Kate. I'm going to do one thing at the wedding tomorrow."
Kate: "And that being?"
Victor: "Will you lend me your ear?"
~~Part 4~~
Victor: "Right, Kate. I'm going to do one thing at the wedding tomorrow."
Kate: "And that being?"
Victor: "Will you lend me your ear?"
Victor: "―― let's lie."
~~~
The next day, Victor and I were standing in the chapel where the wedding was to take place.
As for my jet-black wedding dress ―― I wasn't wearing it.
A man with a veiled face walked to the altar.
―― when he looked around, he gasped.
Guru: "... Why is there no sign of my precious followers?
Victor: "That's because they were charmed by my words and believed me."
Guru: "...wh-at?"
Victor: "I told them the wedding was postponed until the afternoon."
Guru: "Even so, someone should have noticed something's wrong. ........ Huh."
Kate: "We added sleeping pills to everyone's breakfast, just in case."
Guru: "...!"
Kate: "Rest assured, I got them from an acquaintance, who used to be a doctor. They should be awake in a few hours."
Guru: "Who are you..... police? Or..."
He pulled a gun from his pocket and pointed it at us.
Before I could brace myself, Victor hid me behind his back.
(...Victor?)
Victor: "For a man who professes eternal love, pointing a gun at others without hesitation... is like admitting to being a murderer."
Guru: "....damn"
Victor: "Ah, there's no point in shooting. You can't kill me that easily."
Victor: "You'll end up being killed by me long before that. Sorry, I'm just that strong."
(...What... is this intimidating feeling)
He was talking as usual, but the air he gave off was extremely sharp.
To the extent that if the man decided to move even one step ―― his life was forfeited."
As if to prove these words, the so-called guru couldn't pull the trigger.
Victor: "Hmm, it would be easy to kill you here, but then it wouldn't be any fun, would it?"
Victor: "Then, shall we have a game?"
Guru: "...a game?"
Victor: "Right, whoever hurts the opponent first wins. You can use that gun, knife, spear, whatever you like."
Victor: "My weapon is ―― let's see if this is enough."
~~Part 5~~
Victor: "Kate, may I borrow your lips?"
Kate: "Huh?"
He smiled and gently run his thumb over my lips.
Now crimson in colour, his finger was stained with the rouge.
Guru: "Eh... you can underestimate me all you want. Just don't regret it after I shoot you dead."
Victor: "I like regret. It allows me to grow as a person."
Victor: "Shall we go then ―― let's start the game."
All I remembered was how Victor's long black hair swayed.
The moment I blinked, the game was already over.
Guru: ".....!"
Victor stood behind the man and ran his thumb along his neck.
Victor: "Yes. And now you're dead?"
His finger left a trail of crimson rouge wherever it touched.
―― As if it were a death sentence.
Guru: "eek...."
Victor: "You're scared, aren't you?"
Guru: "S-sorry... I'm sorry..."
Victor: "It must be terrifying to feel someone taking your life away."
Victor: "―― this is the horror you put so many lovers through."
Guru: "..........ah, ahhh....."
Victor: "Until death comes for you, repent in the depths of darkness."
Then, as if it was a newborn's hand, he struck the man's neck with ease and left him unconscious.
Bemused, I watched the whole story play out before my eyes.
(I thought I needed to protect Victor. But that was a complete misunderstanding.)
(...he is strong. And not just that....)
His familiar profile looked different somehow.
To calm my confusion, I slowly opened my mouth.
Kate: "....What are you going to do with this person?"
Victor: "William will take care of him. We can't have blood all over this place."
―― surely this guy won't be alive in a few hours.
Victor: "All right, that means our mission is now complete."
He clapped his hands to clear the heavy air.
Victor: "But there's one more thing to do."
Kate: "And that is...?"
He smiled, his jewel-like eyes shining.
Victor: "Kate, will you marry me?"
Tunnel District, Southern Style por David Blazejewski Por Flickr: Here's another in this continuing Steam Sunday series presenting sequential shots from this location featuring my most memorable experience shooting 'The Queen of Steam', Norfolk and Western Class J 4-8-4 611 during her round trip from Spencer to Asheville and return via the S Line and the famed Old Fort Loops across the Blue Ridge Mountains. Though she traveled this route many times during her first excursion career in the 1980s and early 90s this trip would turn out to be her one and only time traversing the route during NS' short lived 21st Century Steam program revival. I missed her first rebirth in the 1980s and early 90s and fell in love with her when I watched one of the first railroad programs I'd ever seen on TV...National Geographic's stunning 1984 production, Love Those Trains. She had a brief presence in that show along with other legendary sights of railroading that I had no idea then that I would someday get to see for myself! If you're at all curious and haven't seen that classic program it is a available on YouTube here: youtu.be/JhD-V2tXlYg But I was too young when she was retired for the second time in 1994 and promised myself a few years later that if she came back for a third life I wouldn't miss her! And indeed I didn't. I was there in Spencer when Wick Moorman turned the ceremonial first wrench on the turntable at Spencer in 2014 and then again in 2015 to see her first revenue run as she stormed the Blue Ridge on 'home rails'. But the best show ever was the following year when she made this trip from Spencer to Asheville via the NS S-Line and the famous Old Fort Loops. We hiked in on the Point Lookout Trail to this spot between High Ridge Tunnel and McElroy Tunnel. In these views I'm an shooting railroad east as she marches first through the 589 ft Lick Log Tunnel, catches a splash of sunlight then approaches us through rhe short 77 ft long McElroy Tunnel. This is a legendary eastern mountain railroad that was little remarked except by a dedicated few. I always wanted to visit this place and made it on two occasions....and I'm glad I did. Because in May of 2020 thanks the closing of the Linwood hump as part of the continued PSR driven traffic changes all through trains were removed from this route leaving only the daily round trip passage of the Asheville to Bridgewater local, which itself lost most of its traffic with the closure of the massive Canton paper mill in 2023. But seven years ago there were still two daily pairs of trains that traversed the length of the route along with occasional unit trains, extras, and re-routes. The line is generally flat from Salisbury 111 miles west to Old Fort where suddenly it meets the thrust of the Blue Ridge Mountains and climbs 1000 ft to the Eastern Continental Divide at Ridgecrest, elevation 2535 ft. The top of the grade is only three miles as the crow flies from Old Fort, but it takes about 13 rail miles to get there. There are seven tunnels (including the 1832 ft long one at the summit) on the line and grades as steep as 2.9%. The train is seen here approaching MP 121 as it makes its way thru the second and third of five found in a mini tunnel district in the span of about 1 1/2 miles. Completed by the Western North Carolina Railroad in 1880 the route ultimately came into the Southern Railway fold and was an important through route for nearly a century and a half. But now times have changed and the future is uncertain. However, the state of North Carolina has longed to bring passenger rail to Asheville via this route, so with the shift of freight traffic away now may be the time. I'm confident the rails here will remain, though the main focus of their economic utility may shift. Only time will tell. To learn more find yourself of a copy the September 2006 issue of Trains magazine with a fabulous cover story on this line by the late Jim Wrinn. For a good map detailing this remarkable stretch of railroad check out this link from Trains: cs.trains.com/trn/b/staff/archive/2016/01/19/trains-chase... 𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Or maybe you just got attached to her. She’s not complaining, she considers herself a good role model and a good influence. She’s a responsible adult.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Or maybe you’re just adopted/her child I forgot that can be a thing
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Anyway
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She’s definitely a little bit overbearing regarding your health; she just worries! She cares about you in her own way!
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Like one of those moms that tell you to bring a jacket with you even though it’s summer and it’s sunny out
“You never know when the weather might play nasty tricks on you.”
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She will be a little smug if you get sick from not bringing a jacket. She told you!!
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She’ll take care of you though she has everything ready. Very organized medicine cabinet and all
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Doesn’t get mad at you like ever. However you can definitely hear when she’s disappointed and it’s probably worse-
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Percy has her own brand of dad jokes. Unfortunately they seem understandable and funny only to her. You have no idea what she’s talking about. She appreciates it if you laugh anyway though.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Also the kind of person where if you tell her something that happened, she’ll be like: “Oh, something like that happened to Steve, once. Didn’t end well.” And then never follows up on who Steve even is or what happened to him. You are left in mystery.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She makes sure you have a good sleeping schedule and healthy meals !!
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 They’re important, just like routines. She definitely enjoys the two of you having a daily routine together. Part of her day is exclusively scheduled to spend time with you.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She definitely does not want to involve you in her cases, she wants you to be safe and a lot of her cases involve dangerous epithet users
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Even if you have an epithet yourself, she still worries. Criminals are unpredictable, as she says.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Speaking of epithets
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 If you do have one, she’ll definitely teach you what she knows about using it efficiently and safely !
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She tells you to “be sure to not use it for any…. Nefarious things.”
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 If you’re the age where you go to school she definitely helps with homework when she can. She’s actually a lot of help!!
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Also loves hanging out with you when she can! You two do puzzles together :)
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 If you ever ask her to take part in any activities with you that you like she’ll be very happy to do it. She loves spending time with you and doing things you like !!
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She attends all of your events / any award ceremonies !! Every single one !! A proud mom
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Howie is the only person she trusts to do a good job looking after you if she can’t. Sorry but Ramsey is still a criminal even if a responsible one and Meryl is just a little too anxious for her own good. It’s for your safety.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 You know that scene from the first Spider Verse movie with Miles and his dad in the police car. Percy. (“I wanna hear it. I love you mom. Mom I love you.”)
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 You show her a funny meme and she goes, “ha. haha. I do that :)”
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 If you show interest in any line of work, she’ll be more than happy to support you! She wants you to be happy and feel accomplished in life.
Riku's Random Life: Wedding Rant!?
Have I ever told you I absolutely hate weddings? I absolutely cannot fathom what people like about them. Why do we throw lavish parties just to promise someone that we plan to spend the rest of our life with them! There is absolutely no added value there. They are just an absolute waste of money! Nothing enjoyable about them at all. Long and boring ceremonies, ridiculous speeches that expose every stupid thing you ever did, annoying dress codes, mediocre food... Do I need to go on? I personally don't see the point.
Getting married is one thing, but a wedding...
Do you know what's worse than attending a wedding as a guest?
It's planning a wedding!
And there isn't even anything to plan! Or, rather... There wasn't supposed to be anything to plan! Other than contacting the city hall and getting the legalities of the ceremony sorted.
Ah yes, I'm getting married...
Thankfully my fiancée has always agreed with me that weddings are a waste of money. So it was never going to be a lavish party. Just a small group of guests, a short ceremony, and then dinner in some restaurant. Anything more and I'd probably not survive the day without some kind of meltdown.
To increase my survival rate, the restaurant has turned into "homemade cake and drinks in our living room after the ceremony".
It was all supposed to be simple, but then the questions started coming in. And it started driving me insane! As I feared, people have expectations of what a wedding is supposed to be... and I'm not having it!
What are you going to wear? I'll probably order some dress online. One I might also wear in daily life. I'm not buying some expensive wedding dress for a 15-minute ceremony and a "reception" in my own living room! (Fiancée is aware of this.) What's the dress code? I don't fucking care. Just wear clothes. (Fiancée insisted on at least telling our guests to dress neatly.) When will you send the (official) Wedding invitation cards? I'm not sending any! Fuck off! It's a waste of money. You get an email or a text. Deal with it! (Thought we agreed on this, but then Fiancée said he wanted to send a physical card to his parents, because they love cards... After initially refusing to make an exception for such a ridiculous reason, I begrudgingly agreed to let him send invitation cards to our parents. I reminded myself it is his wedding too. I don't get to decide everything by myself. I still think the cards are unnecessary.) Where are going for your honeymoon? We're not going on a honeymoon. We're still planning to visit Japan later this year, but that's got nothing to do with the wedding! (Fiancée has been calling our planned trip to Japan a honeymoon since before he even proposed though. It's not! We would still go, even if we weren't getting married.)
By now, every mention of my wedding is sending my anxiety levels through the roof, leaving me instantly exhausted!
This is why I didn't want a wedding ceremony! Just let me sign the paperwork and let's call it a day!
Yes, I get people who have questions. And yes, some of them make sense, but... when an Aunt, who isn't even invited, asked to be sent a wedding invitation card anyway... that blew my fuse! How does that make sense! I'm most definitely not sending invitations to people who aren't invited!
What also doesn't help is the fact that I wasn't given enough time to adjust to the idea of having a wedding. Yes, we originally planned to get married in September, but since my brother (who lives in Japan) was supposed to visit around that time. But when he still hadn't booked his tickets in begin July, I pretty much started assuming we would be delaying the wedding till next year, because time was running short and the city hall likely wouldn't be able to accommodate us on such short notice.
Lo and behold, my brother suddenly booked his plane tickets and somehow the city hall still has two dates available in September. So, a week before I'm to leave on a two-week camping trip my fiancée starts arranging the paperwork to get married in September after all. This is mid-July! We're getting married in the first week of September! I had to fill out the legal paperwork on my phone while camping!
The moment I returned home it was time to start considering what I would be wearing that day. After telling myself over and over again I'd buy something from within the country, I ended up ordering from Yesstyle after all. (Because it's so pretty and not too expensive!) I seem to do this every time a wedding comes up, be it my own or someone else's. I tell myself to get something from within the country, or at least within Europe, but then I end up ordering from Yesstyle after all, because they just always seem to have what I'm looking for. And each time I'll be eating myself up, because the delivery time is gonna cut it really close. So, if the dress doesn't fit, I'm screwed. And the tracking code isn't much use either, as I clearly won't be showing any updates until the package is basically on my doorstep already. (It's been stuck on "prenotification received" for nearly a week now.)
Ugh... best day of your life. Who came up with that! My own wedding is more likely to be the worst day ever, and I'll be glad when it's over.
I'll try to enjoy it, I will. But I fear the worst...
#Riku's Random Life#Getting sick of me already?#I really needed to get this off my chest#I absolutely hate weddings#My older brother's wedding was all right#But only because it gave me an excuse to visit Japan#Kind sucks that one did end with a trip to the hospital though#Youngest brother suddenly got incredibly ill#And I got to be the interpreter#I had been super ill in the days leading up to the wedding too#Was still recovering#Fun times#I want my wedding to be over already!
thank you so much for your BillyTeddy reading guide! i'm honestly so desperate for worldbuilding and culture on the Kree Skrull Alliance stuff (lol) and really appreciate your comments on the spreadsheets :) Do you have any headcanons about what society is like for the average citizen, and what kind of storylines or themes you'd be interested with the alliance/empire as the setting?
Thank you so much!!! I’m glad it was helpful and you liked my comments. I hope you enjoyed.
Also good question! The Kree and Skrull are both very interesting to me. I think there’s a lot of potential in exploring what the Kree Skrull Alliance would be like like how do two groups who have been at war for thousands of years reconcile… how are the average citizens dealing with the tensions and the cultures are sharing and merging. And the new foods and fashion etc. For the average citizen I think there would be some people who would really embrace the change and the end of the war try to get along, live a more peaceful life. There’d be people who are more distrustful at first too so I guess it would be a process 🤔 I like the idea there’s new holidays and ceremonies too.
I think in general also the Skrull especially would probably embrace their more technological and scientific past… like an age of new discovery and the sharing of technology to make something new :) Stepping away from militarism and the like. I think that’s something Teddy would definitely want to move towards in his ruling and it would be a nice way to continue the legacy of his father rejecting the Kree’s military and the like - trying to make a more accepting civilisation.
From that I do think a book about Teddy dealing with the pressures of ruling and the political intrigue and factions would be interesting. It’s a position he didn’t necessarily want but he’s trying his best at so there’s a lot of personal and emotional conflict there + how Billy helps support him through it. And yeah with this I would also like to see the daily life of the civilians and their concerns. Honestly I think there’s a lot of potential and it’s kind of sad Marvel hasn’t done much with it still like this is such a large change to the status quo of the cosmos there’s so many directions you could take it.
Got a bit long but I’ll leave you with: if you do want some more lore I recommend reading the Kree-Skrull War storyline from the 70s (Avengers #89-97). There’s also early Skrull stuff throughout Fantastic Four and Kree stuff in Captain Marvel vol. 1 if you’re ever curious :)
#asks#randomidiocyncrazies#thanks again im really happy you liked the guide!!!#i hope this wasn’t too ramblely
Sorry, this one is long. But the subject has given much to work with.
Proof People's Sexiest Man Alive 2023 really does hate himself, just from other quotes in the SMA article:
"I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return" I am sure based on the phoned in performance from Ghosted and on the reviews of Pain Hustlers, it sounds like you must be starving.
"My mom will be so happy," he says. "She's proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about". How she feelin' about that incel group also being proud of you?
Of Boston "We've got a lot of good schools. Let's give education a plug, that's damn sexy." I have read the few interviews your "beloved" has given and never before have I read so much and someone said so little. But hey, eyebrows are sexy, too. You can probably talk about that.
"I love the idea of tradition and ceremony, I had a lot of that in my life so the idea of creating that, I can't think of anything better." So I guess some new traditions are never being seen with your one and only without it being breadcrumbed and/or trolled, surrounded by a bunch of people, staged and scripted, all while you look miserable. Oh, and also talking about how you like to be alone and your dog is your soulmate.
Values most in a partner is "vulnerability and humility." I am sure your acting teaching family is thrilled she feels she is such a great actress that she doesn't need classes or coaching.
"I don't like to argue, I don't like to raise my voice, or any forms of manipulation," Yep, I know the feeling Christopher.
"It's wise and mature to be able to say "I'm sorry I made a mistake,' to be vulnerable and not always be looking for the argument or take things to an argumentative place. That takes a lot of maturity and I find that very sexy." I am sure that was the exact thought process when your baby posted her shower pic to deflect from the criticism she was getting for her problematic behavior. And did we miss the "sorry"? But only if it is accompanied by behavior change. Otherwise, it is just one of those pesky manipulations none of us likes.
"I love love". And that is why you feel comfortable taking a big dump on it with this disaster. If you are faking it, you have made love a joke, but if by chance it is real, you have shown yourself to be the absolute worst partner ever.
"The tough questions, you know what I mean? I [asked] a lot of tough questions as a kid," he explains. "'God made everything everything?' 'Is the color red to you the same as the color red to me?' I was a high strung kid and emotional so I'm anticipating those questions to be loaded with a lot of anxiety. And I think [as a parent] not only can you give a good answer to the specific question, but the tools to navigate tough questions like that." I'll just let the reader mull this one over, but I am curious to know the possible answer if asked "Dad, what do I do if I am forced to fake marry someone who represents the exact opposite of everything I have claimed to want in a partner? It will require me to use my family and friends in dumb schemes and stunts that will distract them from their daily lives and make thousands of innocent people look and feel crazy. It may even cause me to compromise my integrity and core beliefs by aligning me with those who represent the most base of our society."
But in all seriousness, there are some huge red flags here and this is unsustainable for a normal, happy life. Please study the lessons of this disaster, because the real tragedy of this mistake would be to just move on. Get help from professionals and seek to understand patterns that you keep falling into. I find the ABC method works well:
Good luck!
I collected some ORV ramblings. Spoilers for basically the whole thing
3rd scenario
His method to beat the monster hordes is like "I can't be killed by monsters if I'm not alive" and I want to smack him for it. Him and Yoo Joonghyuk.
---
Hm? YJH is 28? Why was I under the impression he was 27 at the start of the scenarios?
---
YSA sneaking into the break room after hours to sabotage the coffee I can understand. Why the hell was KDJ there hiding behind the cabinet? 'To read WOS-' yeah, yeah, but why didn't he just go home?
---
Probably because his work hours end at 7 (assumption. It probably ends earlier), WOS updates at 7, and he can't wait to go home before reading it. Reading each chapter probably takes a lot of time too so he might have stayed there for a good while.
KDJ is honestly so valid for calling his daily WOS reading time "an important appointment that he absolutely needs to leave ceremonies and work gatherings for" like yeah bitch give your coworkers and bosses nothing! Don't ever tell your boss what you're doing with your free time.
KDJ has noted that even though he knows a lot about history and mythology, all that knowledge came from WOS so I think it's safe to assume that he's just disconnected from reality in a lot of ways. So in a no scenarios au where WOS existed and played exactly the same role in his life as it did originally, it would be funny if YJH also existed, but he's existed this whole time and KDJ just never heard of him.
---
I've been thinking about what made KDJ so special that he had all that power as the Oldest Dream. Like, the original kid version of the Oldest Dream. The world of ORV wasn't created because YJH lived it because we clearly saw how KDJ and HSY's interactions influenced the state of the world of WOS. HSY's having written that world wasn't what brought it into reality, since she wrote many other things and none of those other worlds came into being. Based on this, we can conclude that the world of ORV came into being on KDJ's having imagined it. (Not saying he's to blame for the tragedies, he didn't come up with those ideas after all)
So this means there's just this ordinary teenager with the power to bring worlds into existence by imagining them. That was the thing that bothered me the most about the conclusion, because what the hell? That can't be right.
I think I came to a more digestible conclusion, and that is that anyone has the power to imagine worlds. The only difference between KDJ and everyone else is that the beings in the world he imagined happened to become powerful enough to traverse world lines and break the wall between reality and imagination.
If anyone can imagine worlds, then why hasn't anyone else imagined powerful world-traversing beings? Well. This is probably just the wrong world-line for that.
It's not a perfect explanation but it's better than my previous assumption.
This comes apart when you consider adult!Oldest Dream KDJ, who became the only person with the power to continue the dream of ORV, and then had to scatter himself yadda yadda I didn't really get it someone please make yourselves at home in my ask box/dms and explain anything that comes to mind about ORV.
One last thing about kid!Oldest Dream. This is teenager!KDJ right? 2 years into reading WOS AT MOST. Does he have any idea who the fuck Secretive Plotter is? Secretive Plotter drops "Yeah I lived through 1863 regressions and then an indefinite time in the outer reaches of the story" and OD looks at him like oh my god what the fuck? I just finished reading the 310th regression what do you mean there are 1863??? Would it be alright if I continued to read WOS or would that be rude? He probably hasn't even gotten to the 999th regression yet. How's HSY doing? Can they find her and release her from her desperate scramble to keep him alive? Drop a comment like 'Omg hi author-nim so, crazy story, the protagonist of your novel came and picked me up from the train station so now he, I, and a gang of other companions are living together in a big house wanna come over for dinner some time? Yeah, uhuh, no I don't think this counts as kidnapping, it's the protagonist of the novel you'll finish in 10 years, yeah, he says he's the one who sent you to the 1863rd round- what do you mean you didn't know YJH was the Secretive Plotter' (I forgot this was supposed to be a comment so I ended up writing it like a phone conversation)
Life's been busy, so this worldbuilding Wednesday is a little less planned out! I'll keep it short too, especially since I have some drawing to do still.
Colour plays a fairly big role in most cultures on Globa Attica, this in large part due to their place in religion. Some nations even abide by the concept of family colours, a smaller part of them even implementing it in their coming of age ceremonies. Suffice to say the symbology of colours is strong. Be it from the idea of royal or noble colours, to others associated with accomplishments in life.
The first concept of this originated from the 'lords of colour'. These 'lords' were people who laid claim to certain ways colour dyes were produced, allowing very few to use it. In a similar vein schools, clans, and even entire religions would associate themselves with certain colours or colour groups. Some of these would be sponsored for their colours by a lord of colour, others would merely buy out the rights to use them permanently.
In current society the idea of owning colours is still present in a limited amount of countries. Most have abolished the practice, being spurred on by the advancements in colour production in recent years, but those that do mostly still assign a spectrum of colours to the noble classes. In rare occasions rulers may assign the use of colours to people as a method of knighting them.
Aside from them, religious colours still have a big role in their practice. Followers often wear one of their god's assigned colourings on their person in daily life, which may be mixed with colours of other gods they have strong affinities for. Clergy, however, often only wear the colourings of the god they have pledged to serve.
It always bugs me in scifi/fantasy when characters get hung up on "being human" or "being real". Not that i dislike these story themes. I actually enjoy how it reveals that compassion is actually what's important in life and that "mundane" experiences matter. But characters who act like people aren't valid unless they're "human" or who act like nothing matters unless it's "real", feel so small minded to me.
Take it from someone who experienced a lot of lucid dreaming when asleep and a lot of depersonalization/derealization while awake. On top of that, my memory is so bad, i keep getting it confused with dreams, daydreams, and plain old gaps in my memory of events that everyone assures me, happened, because i was central to it!
"Real" doesn't matter. All the feelings in the moment, as they happen, all feel real. The pain, they joy, the empathy, etc. The "reality" of when those feelings happen don't matter. Everything is important, all the time. (Cloud was right about that.)
And often in these stories, characters are just using "inhuman" and "not real" as an excuse to not take the time/energy to be compassionate towards someone. Like they were holding back a floodgate of cruelty, too eager for any excuse to be expressed. As soon as the "not real" label comes out for a clone, an android, an artificial intelligence, an experimental lifeform, etc., the antagonist shows their true lack of empathy/compassion, towards a being that can feel pain and---as Finn said---have ambitions.
But regardless of the contested being's ability to feel, i like to fall back on an old idea i think i learned from witchcraft: concern with what you are becoming. Because even if the contested being cannot feel pain and does not have ambitions, i want the characters to be concerned with what their actions say about them. Their willingness to disregard, is just one choice among many, daily, that craft who a person becomes. Even old dolls in animism religions get funeral ceremonies. I think there's value in acknowledging the emotions one spent in something "not real", instead of denying their significance, in the vain hope that a cold heart, free of attachments, will somehow be protected from pain.
And another problem with these antagonists advocating callousness towards the "not real", is the effect it has on those who become/are not human. I don't understand how Sayaka Miki could suddenly think she was less of a person, unworthy for love, just because she had her soul placed outside of her body. She may no longer be human, but she's still a valid person. I get offended at calling clones "not real", as if disposable, when it's no different a situation from identical twins. Maybe it bugs me, because as a woman, I've seen what happens, first hand, when all of society crams ideas of invalidation down people's minds. Suddenly, the invalidation of a sentient being comes from inside, internalized, as well as externally. It's twisted.
I get in real life, it's useful to have objects that we don't have to worry about the feelings for. There is so much emotional labor loaded onto life already. I don't want to worry about the feelings of my tools...but i do sometimes. And that's useful too. It leads me to take better care of them. But it is an emotional labor that i do need a break from. Still, scifi characters who take that slippery slope too far are just jerks. Not that a non-sentient clump of zygote is the same as a fully sentient, walking, talking clone, with its own agency. But these villains are always quick to call someone "inhuman" as an excuse to be "permitted" to be cruel. (Maybe it bugs me because it reminds me of immature 12 year old me, with repressed anger issues. Jungian Shadow, and all that.)
