“…I watch over seventeen random acts of violence in the city of Bludhaven—most of them committed by police officers. But a young man raised in the bright colors of the circus hopes to save this place.”
“Nightwing and Starfire. A man from earth and a princess from an alien world. I’ve watched their relationship with a vested interest over the years. I’ve watched them given chance after chance to make it work. But maybe is powerless here. Maybe love is too weak.”
Dick says goodbye to Kory and Donna before they go off to new Cronus once more to help save the universe. Dick and Kory hug when Kory tells Nightwing to take care of himself. Dick pulls back from the hug and tells her to take care too.

i hc kara to be on the aro/ace spectrum. i feel like she mistook her desire to be friends with aiden as attraction, when in reality she was just happy that they had a lot in common.

There was a knock at Lena’s door, and it startled her awake. She was awake, but also wasn’t, sitting in a side chair beside her sofa with a glass of whisky still in her hand, loosely held by tired, nerveless fingers. It nearly fell from her palm when the sound jolted her from the twilight between fitful wakefulness and falling asleep sitting up. By her side was that goddamn picture, the glass still cracked. She grabbed it and forced it down so she didn’t have to see her grinning face, feel the ghost of a warm soft cheek lightly grazing hers.
The whisky made a fiery stab at her heart as she finished it and went to the door. She already knew who it was, the only person who’d dare disturb her at this hour, and who could get past her security.
Kara stood in the hall, clad in fluffy pajamas and disbelieved, tracks left by hot tears still cut into her soft rosy cheeks. There she was, the pretty little crying princess again.
It was an act. It was bullshit. The real her was hiding behind it, standing tall, appraising Lena’s faults with eyes that could burn mountains, the cold judgment of an extinct empire carved into her godlike, inhuman beauty. Lena made herself see that, refused to let her guard down.
“What, Kara?”
“Can I come in?”
Lena didn’t even answer. She began to close the door, only for her movement to be arrested by a single word.
“Please.”
Part of her made her stop. She seethed against it, hated it. She had carved icy knives of vengeance to carve it out herself. Alcohol had failed to drown it and the sharpest logic was dull against it. It was both too hard to crush and too soft to squeeze, this hateful thing that coiled around her heart and made her feel when she had sworn never to feel again.
Kara took a halting step forward. Lena threw out her palm and pressed it into her chests, stopping her.
She shouldn’t have done that. There was something heady and intoxicating in it. Kara froze in place, and Lena could feel her pulse along her collarbones. The pinnacle of alien might, strength so vast that nothing could stand as her equal, and she stopped from Lena’s lightest touch. That was power.
“What do you want?”
“Just to talk.”
“I’ve heard your apologies. Don’t waste my time unless you have some new material.”
Kara licked her lips. “Maybe.”
They couldn’t stay like this. Resting a hand on her chest had too many possibilities. Touching her had too many implications. It would be so easy to let the soft thing win and bring her hand up and hold her palm to that soft cheek and seek to balm those tears, make it better, care.
She let herself remember that Kara’s pain was a shoeld for Supergirl’s judging wrath and pulled back, but she didn’t close the door. Kara did as she slipped inside.
Thee was a heavy pause of silence, where Kara just breathed, soft and ragged.
“Why are you here?” said Lena.
“I needed to see you. I needed to know you’re safe.”
“Nightmares?”
“Worse,” said Kara. “It was so much worse.”
The agony in her voice shook Lena.
Forcing herself to composure, she poured another three fingers of single malt and flipped into her chair, extending neither drink nor invitation to Kara. The drink was a bad idea. It was dangerous. The smokey, hazy heat of it burned the soft bitter taste of regret from her teeth. Lena didn’t look at her.
“It was the imp.”
“Excuse me?”
“It calls itself Mxy. It says it’s from the fifth dimension but I have no idea if that’s true or not. All I know is that it has vast powers, even godlike. The last time it… it tried to force me to marry it.”
Lena knew what darkness in her birthed the hot rage in her gut, the possessive jealous fury that welled within her at those worse. This thing, how dare he.
She took a drink.
“It… he came to me tonight and said he wanted to make amends. He offered to let me change the past. I could fix whatever I wanted.”
“Hmm. Must have been a trick,” said Lena. “Let me guess, restoring Krypton had some ironic Twilight Zone twist.”
Kara blanched, blinking. “No, I… I didn’t even think of that. I asked him to help me fix us.”
There is no us, Lena began to say, but the words died on her tongue. She washed the taste away.
Something in her twisted, a cold shiver like a water dumped over her head. She knew Kara’s bullshit super senses would pick up on it and steeled herself.
Rubbing her arms, Kara paced.
“I tried telling you at different times, so you’d hear it from me and not Lex or someone else.”
“What happened?” Lena said, trying to look more interested in her whisky than the answer.
It was purely an intellectual curiosity, she told herself.
“You died,” Kara said, blunt. “You died every time.”
“How?”
Every which way. Reign killed you five or six times. Mercy blew your brains out all over my chest. Lex… Lex could be creative. Poison, blades, fire once. He was fond of sadistic choices and clever tortures. Say, use red wavelengths to negate my powers and set up a sadistic challenge I could never pass, that sort of thing. It got so bad I stupidly wished I’d never met you.”
Her voice was ragged, breathing uneven. Fresh tears glittered on her cheeks and Lena felt herself lunge, start to stand. Kara’s pain called out to something in her, something beyond the physical or even the emotional. It was like something in Lena’s soul yearned to stop that terrible pain.
“The worst was when you drowned. Almost.”
Lena looked away, swirled her drink.
“Sounds like you kept trying.”
“I did. The timeline where we never met was one of the worst. I wasn’t there when your chopper crashed. Your mother… you tried to kill me and I couldn’t even fight back.”
“Is this where we segue into the ‘I would never hurt you’ lecture?”
“No. I did hurt you. I deserve your hate. If someone else did to you what I did, I’d snap their neck.”
Lena flinched. There was something cold in that admission, something brutal and beyond even Supergirl. Raw.
None of her rules matter for me.
A tiny voice in that darkness whispered to her: And if some poor bastard locked her in a Kryptonite cage the way you did, they’d be begging you for death. They’d know you’re a Luthor.
Lena shuddered.
“What do you do?”
“I kept trying. I thought… I felt… I had to keep trying.”
“Well, you gave up and came here eventually. You…”
Kara swallowed hard. “It thought it worked, finally. I picked the night I reached you from Corben. Remember that?”
“I remember,” Lena said, hesitant.
Kara Danvers believes in you.
“I told you when you asked me why I saved you. I took you home, made sure you were safe. Life went on. These… these timelines or whatever they were, Lena, they were real. I lived them. That one was, it was…”
“What?”
“A few days later after things calmed down we went to lunch. We were just chatting about something unimportant and you looked at me and our eyes met and it was like…”
Kara looked away from her, wrapping her arms around herself the way she did, not a smug Supergirl pose but a woman shielding her heart from the world that clawed at it.
“When I first arrived on Earth there was a night where my powers had just kicked in and I looked at the sky. I could see more than stars. There was an aurora that was invisible to humans. I could see invisible lines of energy crackling between the stars, the cosmic background radiation shimmering on the dark. Can you imagine that? I can see the remnants of the Big Bang when I stargaze.”
Lena’s had trembled, the dregs of her booze shaking in the bottom of the glass.
“It was like that,” said Kara. “I knew I’d never be the same. I was staring at you like a big goof and you just stopped talking and stared back. I blurted out ‘is this a date?’”
Lena clutched the glass so she wouldn’t drop it and forced the tears back with all her might, but she was weak. Always weak.
“I take it I said yes,” she managed to say, voice quivering.
“We got married three years later. Lori was born a year after that.”
“Kara,” Lena began.
“Then it happened.”
“Kara, shut up.”
“Kalibak killed you. My sister. My little girl. My everything.”
Lena hurled the glass and Kara snatched it from the air in a superhuman blur. Lena was already on her feet, stabbing an accusing finger.
“So what?” Lena demanded. “We’re star-crossed lovers, now? Is this your ploy to fix it? Make me realize how in love we are? It’s a sick joke, Kara.”
“I know I can’t fix it,” said Kara. “I don’t want to.”
Lena blinked, her rage momentarily cooled. “What?”
“I would rather live in a world where you hate me as long as you’re still in it.”
“Kara,” Lena said.
“We are star-crossed. I don’t know want I did to deserve this but I can’t fix it. There was never a right time to tell you. It was doomed from the start. I’m here to tell you to let me go, Lena.”
She blinked. “What?”
“I know about Non Nocere. I know what you’re trying to do. I’m here to ask you to stop. Please. Don’t do this. Don’t ruin you life over me.”
“Why couldn’t you just save me and leave?” Lena demanded. “That’s what everyone else gets. A quick rescue and a wave and a wink and you’re gone. Why did you have to drag yourself through my life and wreck everything?”
“I tried that.”
Lena screamed, bellowed at the top of her lungs.
“So what? So fucking what, Kara?”
Kara just stood there.
“I don’t know. I just… I just had to see… all I want is for you to be safe.”
Lena turned away from her.
“I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry,” Kara choked out, behind her. “I did go back to Krypton one time. I told him I wanted to stay and die with my world, that it was the only way.”
“Let me guess, you did that and…”
“Car accident.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Lena cried. “You have to be kidding me.”
“He made me watch. Not just you, everyone else that died because there was no Supergirl. I… I think I’m in Hell.”
Lena blinked. She turned slowly. A memory came flooding back to her from another time, a closed casket in a small Irish church with Lionel Luthor lurking, waiting for her with an entourage. She’d asked the priest in her precious child voice, am I in Hell, Father?
A sob forced itself out of her. She let herself look at Kara, standing there bedraggled and teary eyed in rumpled Hello Kitty pajamas and felt sick, like she’d swallowed a belly full of rancid oil. All she could see was the hurting, and she wondered if that was it, if this pain was the source of the unbreakable quantum entanglement that had dragged this alien being across a gulf of stars to fuck up her life.
Or save it.
“Kara,” Lena whispered. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I dragged you into my life.”
“I’m not,” Kara whispered. “It was a gift, every minute of it. I wouldn’t trade a single moment for anything. Even the ones that didn’t happen.”
“What the hell do we do?” said Lena.
“I leave. I keep saving you. You find someone else, live your life, be happy. I do everything I can to keep you in this world and watch you grow old. That’s it. I should go.”
Kara turned and Lena screamed, balling her fists.
“Don’t you fucking dare leave this penthouse, Kara Danvers.”
Kara froze.
“I went back.”
“Went back to what?” said Kara.
“I went back to let you out of the Kryptonite cage. I couldn’t stop thinking of you lying on that cold floor in pain so I had to go back, but you weren’t there. I… I… I don’t know what I’m doing. I want to stop this but I just keep going and I don’t know what to fucking do anymore. I’m so lost.”
Kara’s shoulders slumped.
“I would take it back if I could.”
Kara turned back to her.
“You don’t have to.”
Lena backed away, unable to look at her. Kara crossed the gap in seconds and tenderly rested her hands on Lena’s arms.
“I’m sorry. I mean it. I am truly sorry from the depths of my soul. I would fix this if I could.”
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” said Lena. “It makes my soul hurt, and I don’t believe in souls.”
Lena pulled her in, clinging to her as if she might disappear. Kara was tentative, testing with every movement.
God, they had a daughter. A child! Lena could imagine, almost see… what had she done?
“It’s going to be okay,” Kara said. “I think this is what I was supposed to learn.”
“What?”
“To own my mistakes, and if I don’t want you to be a villain, I shouldn’t treat you like one.”
“I’m so tired.”
“I should go home and let you rest. This is a lot, I know, and it’s late. I…”
Kara trailed off, and Lena looked up at her. Their eyes met, and Lena… knew.
“Will you come back?” said Lena.
“Always.”

They believe her when she tells them she got homesick.
That she couldn't stay the full month in Argo because she missed National City too much, missed all of them. Everyone at game night seems pleased to hear this - Kara knows they were all a little afraid she might never come back.  "Well, I for one am glad to have you back," Alex says, squeezing her tight. Kara gives Alex her best smile. "I need at least one person here that I can beat at this game." They all laugh, Kara scoffs and shoves her away, and the night moves on without any more questions. She’s grateful for that. She doesn’t know how to tell them that she came home early because no one there laughed at her jokes.
That her childhood friends have grown into different people with a decade of commonality that Kara missed out on. That the old humor they’d so intimately shared a decade before feels stale now, and her attempts at joking were met with uncomfortable silence. That people would speak to her in slow, careful words, as if she were only just now learning the language and not a native speaker. Their dialect had evolved, after all, their language shifted. They had a decade of culture without her, and the culture they once shared now only she carries.
She can’t tell them how the one laugh she got her entire trip was after she said a word she’s known from the moment she could talk - a word she’s always carried without thought or hesitation – and a young man laughed at her. He told her she sounded old, like a grandmother. That people don’t use that word anymore. Her ears were buzzing too hard in shame for her to even catch the new word he told her. She had just stopped trying to say anything at all.
Even being with her mother felt strange. Trying to navigate a relationship as two adults despite only having a childhood familiarity felt torturous. Her mother, at least, was able to engage more with her old memories, her old language. They could share nostalgia without the crushing weight of cultural progression overwhelming them. Even still, it was hard. She felt more like an alien on Argo than she’d felt in ages on Earth.
It felt like being in the phantom zone again, of being stuck in a space without time. Even dead, Krypton had moved on without her. It didn’t need her to carry its memory anymore. Like always, she was the one left behind.  There were no words for a feeling like that, none that she could share meaningfully. Even on Earth her language felt inadequate. Parts were always missing. So, when she comes home two weeks into her planned month-long visit to Argo, she says what she thinks they need to hear: it was fun, it was wonderful, but I missed home. I missed you.
It's not a lie. She did miss them, like she missed her people lost on Krypton. Like she missed her mother and childhood friends, even as they sat in front of her alive and well. No matter where she was or who she was with, she missed.

Lena Is Down Bad (Supercorp)
by marinawolf
Lena gets knocked the fuck out by a flying car door because she’s too busy thirsting over Kara to run away from the chaos. A short, funny (?) fic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lena navigated the street with Kara, trying to keep up with the conversation as they walked back to the office. But her usually focused mind was currently on vacation and her brain seemed to have booked a one-way ticket to a thirst town. The reason? Kara fucking Danvers and that blue shirt. In that light blue button-down, Kara wasn't just walking; she was parading around like a mobile museum exhibit on the art of making Lena's brain short-circuit.
The top buttons of her shirt were undone, and her sleeves were pushed up to reveal a tantalizing glimpse of biceps that could make even the most stoic person weak in the knees.
Each flex of Kara's muscles turned Lena's attempt at coherent thought into a stumbling mess. And it didn’t help that Kara was an animated talker. The way her arms were moving, and fucking flexing, Lena worried that those sleeves were about to rip. The poor things were clinging on for dear life and Lena found herself torn between concern for the fabric's well-being and a wholly inappropriate wish that, just maybe, the fabric might surrender to the sheer strength on display.
Lena’s love life had been in a Sahara Desert-level dry spell of late, and Kara looking like this didn’t help matters. Her crush on Kara was usually easy to hide but dammit, those muscles would be her undoing. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from Kara’s arms.
Suddenly, Lena lurched as her heel got caught in a crack on the sidewalk. Her coffee cup tumbled out of her hands, and she felt herself fall backwards, only to be grabbed by those very arms. She looked up at Kara’s blue eyes and almost swooned. Kara righted her, and laughed “be careful” before casually going on with the walk while Lena struggled to remember how to breathe.
And then when the guys with big guns and super strength suddenly stormed the street, Lena barely registered the danger. Why? Because Kara, ducked into the alley and ripped off her shirt. Naturally, Lena's brain clocked out for a moment.
When Kara pushed her into the alley with a stern “Stay here”, Lena's focus remained steadfastly fixated on Kara.
Kara’s muscles were on full display as she threw punch after punch and Lena was more turned on then ever.
And oh god, Kara’s thighs in those tights- Lena wanted those thighs wrapped around her. And when Kara effortlessly crushed a gun to smithereens with her bare hands, Lena couldn’t help but wonder what else those hands might do…
So obviously Lena didn’t register Kara’s shout of warning until it was too late, and the flying car door smacked into Lena’s face, knocking her the fuck out.
Blinking against the pounding in her head, Lena awoke to find herself in Kara's apartment. Kara stood before her, arms crossed.
"Oh, thank Rao," Kara breathed out as she knelt down to grab Lena’s hands, her relief evident, “You’re okay.”
"What happened?" Kara inquired, concern etching her features. "You were just standing there, frozen.”
Lena groaned inwardly, already knowing where this was headed.
"I was distracted," she muttered accusingly, casting a side-eye at the source of her distraction.
Those muscles were shaping up to be the greatest threat to Lena's well-being.

Chapter Two:
You sigh as you take in the barren state of your room. All that was left was boxes and your suitcases. Your mom is going to send the rest of your belongings after you arrive in Amsterdam. You were sad to leave your childhood home and your parents but, excited to see what the future holds. Especially now that you have a very sweet Alpha taking care of you. As much as you hate to admit it, your inner Omega has longed for this day. You still couldn't shake the nerves of moving to a completely different country. The AOMO assisted you with your visa which was easy to get approved for. Countries were more lenient with citizenship when it came to obtaining a mate. You haven't seen König in about a week. He went back to Amsterdam to prepare for your arrival. A knock sounded at your door before it opened.
“You ready?” Your Dad asked, moving to grab your suitcases for you.
“Yeah.” You followed him out of the room.
Your Mother was standing near the door, her eyes filled with tears that threatened to spill. You went over and hugged her.
“My baby girl, moving out. I'm gonna miss you.”
“I'll come visit, don't worry.”
“You better.” Your dad called an Uber to get to the airport.
The drive was silent besides the quiet radio in the background. The airport was busy. This was your first time flying by yourself, you took a deep breath to calm your nerves. You gave your mother and father one last hug before to went to check your bags. Your mother shed a tear and adjusted your protection collar again, urging you to be safe. You bid them goodbye and headed to check your bags and go through security. Once you made it to your gate your phone vibrated. You didn't recognize the number.
'Hello liebe, It is König. Kara has given me your number.'
'I am not used to texting, I text no one. Are you at the plane?'
Your heart jumped with excitement hearing from him.
'Hi König, I am at my gate. It boards in about an hour I think.'
'Wonderful, I will be waiting for you when you arrive.'
'See you then.'
You suppressed a squeal as you put your phone away. Your inner Omega was getting a little out of hand with her feelings about him. You felt like a middle schooler with a crush. You distracted yourself by using the bathroom and buying some expensive airport snacks to tide you over on the ride. It was a seven-hour overnight flight set to arrive at eleven am Netherlands time. Once you boarded the plane you got comfortable for the long flight. You brought a blanket from home and a neck pillow. Kara set you up with a window seat. As you took off you silently said goodbye to the big city and hello to your new future.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You woke as the lights of the plane cabin turned on. The flight attendants told everyone to prepare for landing. You gathered your things and gazed out your window. The city was lush, the leaves were turning slightly as fall rolled in. Your heart pounded against your chest with excitement, your Omega desperately wanted to see König. You still had to go through customs and baggage claim.
König wasn't much better. Throughout the week he had distracted himself by cleaning and buying things for your arrival, but that did little to quell the Alpha in him. He brought new bedding for your nest. He didn't know what kind you'd like so he got a little bit of everything. Fluffy faux fur blankets, cooling quilts, silk sheets, you name it. He also started putting aside t-shirts he has worn in case you wanted them for your nest. His apartment had two bedrooms, one of which he never used. It had a bed and that was about it. Although he desperately wanted you to sleep in his bed, he knew Omegas needed their space to nest and feel at home. He furnished the room with a desk, nightstand, dresser, and TV. He would leave the decorating up to you as that has never been his strong suit. He waited outside of baggage claim tapping his foot anxiously. He had arrived entirely too early but couldn't stand to sit in his apartment any longer.
Customs went by smoothly. You scanned the conveyor belts for your luggage. The longer the wait was the more your heart pounded. You were starting to sweat making your scent waft to the people around you. You moved to a corner with fewer people to avoid the annoyed looks people would give you. Your luggage finally made its round in the rotunda and you snatched it as fast as you could. You walked outside to the pickup area the sun blinding you for a moment as you looked around. You inhaled deeply trying to pinpoint König's scent. The faint smell of bread and cinnamon entered your nose through the breeze. You looked to the left seeing a familiar mop of hair behind a black SUV. He was too tall not to be the Alpha you were looking for. You walked up to him his back turned to you.
“König.” You said happily.
He turned to you surprised. “You're here.”
König was trying to contain his excitement. His inner alpha pressured him to pick you up, to hold you. As if reading his mind, you hugged him. He wrapped his arms around you, dwarfing you. He bent down resting his nose in your hair, savoring your scent. You looked up at him keeping your arms around his waist. He had his black surgical mask on.
“I'm so happy to see you.”
“I spent every day thinking of you liebe.”
He reluctantly released the embrace and opened the passenger side door for you. You sat in the car and watched him load your luggage into the trunk. He slid into the driver's seat glancing at you before pulling off onto the road. His scent sweetened the longer he was in your presence.
“How was the flight?” He asked.
“It was easy, I just slept.”
“Are you hungry?”
“Yeah, I could eat.”
König reached behind your seat to the back and grabbed a white paper bag. He handed it to you all without taking his eyes off the road. Inside was a croissant and a peach Danish.
“Oh thank you König. You really know the way to woo me.” You chuckled taking a bite of the Danish.
He responded with 'hmm' and a content smile. The ride was about thirty minutes. You gazed out the window taking in the sights of your new city. Many people rode bikes and there were endless cafes. König parallel parked onto a quiet residential block. You got out of the car taking in your surroundings. The houses were all unique in color and style. Only one person was walking down the street. König unloaded your bags and put them on the sidewalk. You went to grab them but he shooed your hands away. He locked the car and started walking. The house he led you to was a brick home with a few steps leading to the foyer. He opened the door and let you walk inside first before carrying your bags in with ease. You walked up the two flights of stairs.
“The door is open.” König said from behind you.
The second door came into view and you opened the door for him. He sets your bags down and closes the door behind him. The apartment was furnished but bland. Not much decor or color. It was obvious he doesn't spend much time here as it did not look lived in.
“Come.” He said leading you down the small hallway.
 He opened the first door, it was the bathroom. Quite large for an apartment bathroom, you were excited to use the tub. He then lead you to the second door it was a nice furnished bedroom there were a lot of shopping bags near the bed.
“This is your room. I brought nesting material for you but, I was not sure what you liked.”
You walked in. The natural light of the morning flooded into the room through the large windows. The building was high enough that you had a decent view of the neighborhood.
“König, you didn't have to buy all these for me.”
“Nonsense.”
You smiled. “Thank you, Alpha.”
König's heart thumped against his chest. He didn't expect you to use his title so soon, but he was over the moon.
“You're welcome Omega.” He purred.
Your Omega preened at the title. Although the situation was new, you felt safe and cared for. You started opening some of the bedding to assess them for your new nest. There was a large dark blue comforter with matching silk sheets. You knew you should focus on unpacking but the temptation to build your nest was too high. König watched you from the door with adoration. He was proud of himself for making his Omega feel happy and safe. He brought your luggage into your room to unpack whenever you were ready.
You were completely engrossed in your nest you didn't realize König was watching you. You took off your shoes and jacket and started arranging the sheets first to have a silky base. Then you used the quilts as a border before you could arrange it properly your phone started ringing, taking you out of the daze you were in. You reached for your phone in your jacket pocket. It was your mom.
“Mom it's so early there you didn't have to call now.”
“I know sweetie I just was paranoid. Did you arrive safe?”
“I did, I'm at König's now.”
“Oh, great ok that's all I was worried about. I'm gonna head back to sleep. I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you too Mom”
You hung up the phone and looked around at the mess of packaging on the floor. You were debating whether you should continue making your nest or clean your mess up. Sensing your internal struggle König spoke.
“Let's unpack Schatz.”
“Oh, right.”
You unzipped your suitcases and started sorting things into the dresser and closet. You instructed König to put your toiletries in the bathroom and put your clothes in certain drawers. He was happy to help, spending time with his Omega was the most important thing to him. König was given a little over three months' leave to settle with his Omega. After Christmas, he had to go back on missions. The thought made his heart ache. He shook off the negative feelings before she could pick up on anything, not wanting her to worry. König picked up the packaging placing it in one of the shopping bags. He went to the kitchen to throw it away.
Now that he was here he did not know what to do. Does he give her space? Should he take her out? König wants to spend as much time as possible with her, but he did not want to be overbearing. Before he could overthink, he heard you calling him. Walking into your room he saw you kneeling on the bed.
“Take off your shoes and come I want to test something.” You said.
He obliged, taking his shoes off. You waved him over to your unfinished nest. He stepped up to you hesitantly not wanting to cross any boundaries with your nest. You grabbed his hand and made him lie down. König stiffened not wanting to ruin anything. He has never been invited into an Omega's nest before. You started arranging your nesting materials around him. Once you got a good sense of how many blankets you needed for both of you to be comfy, you released him. He sat up carefully trying not to disturb anything that you arranged. He was honored that you'd feel comfortable just being in the room while you created your space.
While making your nest you noticed how barren the room was. You wanted it to be warm and cozy. You looked up at König.
“Let's go shopping, Alpha. Can we?”
“Sure, liebe.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
König was surprised you had so much energy after your night of travel. You took in the scenery of the local shops. You slipped your hand into Konigs and led him into a home decor shop. König let himself be dragged around as you browsed. Every shop they went into you picked up small things. A wall mirror, a pretty tapestry, a cute frog statue, you had to have it. One of the shops you walked into sold Omega protection collars. You sighed.
“I wouldn't mind wearing mine as much if it looked better.”
The shop made custom-fit metal collars. There was a beautiful gold metal collar with a dangle charm in the center. It came down to a point near the clavicle. Contrary to your basic black leather one.
“Would you like this one?” König asked.
“Oh, no it's expensive.”
You moved to walk out of the shop but you felt a hand on your waist stop you. König pulled you back to him gently and waved over the sales associate.
“Can she try this one on?” The worker nodded and took the collar out of the case.
You removed your collar with the key you kept in your wallet and let the worker place the gold one on you. You looked in the mirror and smiled. It complimented you in the best way, simple yet elegant. The worker explained that they do custom fittings that take a few days to make but it's worth it. You removed the collar and handed it back.
“She would like to get fitted.” König said suddenly.
“What? No König really it's too much.”
“Just in case.”
“In case what?”
He didn't answer. The worker did a few measurements around your neck and the size and placement of your scent glands, writing them down on a form. After they were done they bid the both of you goodbye and looked forward to your order.
“I don't think I'm gonna get it.” You told König.
“It's too much...” You added
“That's ok.” He said.
He placed his arm around your waist as you walked, holding your shopping bags in the other hand. You had a feeling he was planning something but you let it go for the time being.
By the time you got home, it was getting dark. König placed your shopping bags into your room. You yawned.
“You should sleep liebe, you've had a busy day.” König said.
“Yeah, I'll head to bed early so I can finish my nest.” You stretched your back and walked to your room. König followed behind you heading to his room. He grabbed your wrist spinning you back toward him. His other hand caressed your cheek while leaning down to your level. He pulled down his mask revealing his plump lips.
“Goodnight Omega.” He kissed your cheek.
König felt it was only right to return the kiss you gave him before. He let the kiss linger for a few seconds before pulling away. Heat crept from your neck to your cheeks. König walked to his room smiling to himself. You leaned against your door, heart racing. You opened the door, your inner Omega was reeling from your Alpha's attention. Your alpha? You were completely smitten by the giant Apex. You closed the door, changed into pajamas, and jumped into your nest. You sighed into the pillows, fantasizing about your Alpha. You began adjusting your nest to your liking. It ended up taking you an hour to make it perfect, keeping in mind the space for König. You'd never made a nest with someone else in mind but it was nice. You got cozy and let sleep take over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Light entered your room slowly waking you. You looked at your phone, it was 6:04 am. You sat up and stretched, happy that you beat the jetlag. Wondering if König was awake, you quietly stepped out of your room and down the hallway to his room. You knocked gently. König was a light sleeper. He heard your small footsteps before you knocked and went to open the door. He looked down at your face still flushed with sleep.
“Good morning.” You said, absentmindedly rubbing your eyes.
König purred deeply. You looked so cute in your PJs he wanted to pull you into his bed., for more than just cuddling. He leaned down and kissed your forehead.
“Morning Schatz.” He guided you down the hallway to the kitchen.
“I can make us pancakes for breakfast.” You suggested.
“Sounds wonderful.”
König watched you flit around the kitchen. The kitchen was barely used because of his job, so it was nice seeing it get used. Your head snapped to the alpha when you realized he was watching you.
“Go sit, I'll bring it to you.”
König nodded and sat on the couch. He turned on the TV as he waited and listened to the kitchen utensils clanging in the background. A few minutes later you emerged with a plate for him topped with syrup. He took the plate and looked at the food quizzically.
“What's wrong?” you asked.
“These...are pancakes?” He analyzed the fluffy discs.
“Yeah, are pancakes different here?” He nodded.
“I'll try them.” He carved out a bite with his fork. You watched him intensely.
“How is it?”
“...Sweet, but good.” He said.
You smiled and went to get yourself a plate. You plopped down next to him on the couch and you took a bite. You watched the random movie he put on as you ate, feeling perfectly content with your Alpha.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later, you were on the couch typing away on your laptop working on your next chapter. König was struggling to find something to do with himself. He wanted to give you space to write, but desperately wanted to spend time with you. He understood that your job was time sensitive. He was lucky to have you here at all. You heard König pacing behind you causing you to lose your concentration. You got up and went to your room. You rummaged through your suitcase, finding a copy of your fantasy novel. You walked up to König and handed him the book before returning to your spot on the couch. He appeared next to you on the couch glancing over the blurb.
“I thought I had to buy a copy?” He said.
“Well, you need something to do.” You chuckled.
You two fell into a comfortable silence with König's mind now occupied. After a while, you glanced at the Alpha. He was engrossed in the pages well into the starting plot.
“How is it so far?”
“So good Schatz. I have not read a novel in a long time, I like it.”
“I'm glad.”
König bent the corner of the page he was on and closed the book. You nearly felt your heart jumped out of your chest.
“Ah! König!!!” You grabbed the book and attempted to straighten the corner out.
“This is a book sin!” You exclaimed.
“Oh? But I have no bookmark.” He gave you an amused look.
“Ok just ask for one I have many!” You pouted.
“The book isn't hurt.”
“How do you know?”
König laughed. It was so genuine and hearty that you almost forgot what you were upset about. You turned away and set the book page-side down. König's laughter died down and he looked at you.
“You're adorable, Schatz.”
“Hmph.” You said.
König reached around cupping your cheek. You turned to him. It was surprising to see his face a couple of inches away from yours. His eyes were soft as they gazed into yours, he looked down at your lips before capturing yours in a chaste kiss. Your eyes fluttered closed, leaning into the kiss. Your bottom lip slotted in between his in the most delicious way. He pulled away, resting his forehead on yours. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him again. One of his hands slithered around your waist pulling you flush against his torso. The other hand firmly gripped the side of your jaw.
Your heart pounded so loud you swear he could hear it.
König smiled against your lips. He finally had his Omega.

oh anon, i am definitely the wrong person for this one, but here goes nothing:
- - - - - -
Lena has a secret.
No, it isn't that she’s doubling as a superhero in her free time. That’s Kara.
And no, it isn't that she has an unquenchable crush on her best friend. They'd solved that eons ago.
And definitely no, it isn’t that her toy collection is extensive and well-stocked. Everyone at game night already knows about that.
The secret went like this:
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing,” Lena replied with the innocence of a Luthor.
“So it just so happens that the bartender who has been making eyes at you all night is now being sized-up by my sister?”
“Correlation without causation. I thought you were a scientist,” Lena shrugged and tried her best to conceal a knowing smile.
“Uh-huh,” Alex replied with an arched eyebrow that said much more. “And that fact he grabbed your ass on the way to the bathroom?”
“Doesn’t ring a bell.”
“Well I for one am not about to do a bunch of paperwork over an NDA because Kara can’t keep it together over this ass-hat groping you, so if you will excuse me-”
- - - -
And this:
“Hey babe?”
“Hm?”
“What’s this?”
Lena looked up from her work and squinted at the letter gripped in Kara’s hand.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just some administrative stuff,” Lena hummed and returned to her work.
“Doesn’t look like ‘nothing’. It looks like you were served.”
The scowl that followed was one that could be seen from space which meant it was impossible to ignore from across their apartment. Lena rolled her eyes.
“It’s just Morgan Edge playing bully again, darling.”
“Yea but,” Kara continued, eyes skimming the multi-page document that now had a few extra crinkles in it. “He’s suing for patent rights? Who does he think he is-”
“It’s nothing, really. I’ll handle it tomorrow.”
“You shouldn’t have to handle it in the first place.”
“It’s fine. Let’s just-”
But Kara was already gone through the terrace door and halfway across the city.
- - - -
And most of all, this:
“Ms. Luthor, The Sun has accused you of covering up nearly a dozen fatalities since-”
“Lena Luthor, it has been alleged that Obsidian North’s stolen technology was found in L-Corp’s latest-”
“Ms. Luthor, how do you explain the recent deaths associated with-”
“How do you sleep at night when your maniac brother is still on the loose-”
“No comment,” Lena repeated for the eighteenth time. She pushed ahead, trying to find a path between L-Corp’s front door and the waiting car that would take her home. Unfortunately, the best path was also the longest. Worse, when she looked ahead, her car was nowhere to be found. What she did find was wall-to-wall traffic and no chance of freedom.
Great.
More questions were hurled, a flash sent blotches across her vision. Another came an inch away and sent her staggering. It felt like a garbage compactor except worse because garbage compactors weren’t sentient creatures known for shouting lies while doing its job.
She clambered through the crowd and found a gap. She glanced around for her security guard who was lost amidst a second offshoot of angry journalists and misinformed citizens. Now wasn’t the time for manners as three journalists and an oversized camera pivoted toward her, so instead of waiting, she booked it down the sidewalk.
They followed with vigor and ignorance and a stubbornness that would have made Lillian proud, shouting rather uncreative conspiracy theories and growing closer by the second. Lena turned a corner then, in a move she might have patted herself on the back for, slipped into an alley. She breathed a sigh of relief until-
“Ms. Luthor-”
“Lena Luthor-”
“-you can’t hide from the truth.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Lena heaved, staggering backwards in the kind of stereotypical way she mocked television shows for.
The cameraman was fastest, breaking into her personal space and jamming the lens into her face.
“Ms. Luthor-”
“-is it true Supergirl won’t speak to you?”
“-how does it feel having National City’s Darling reject you?”
What happened next might have been comical if Lena weren’t breathless, irritated, and fuming that her anniversary dinner was being interrupted by a wave of wannabe reporters hanging onto the coattails of the marketing dollars that funded their tabloids.
Be that as it was, she was not in her usual smirky-mood when the burst of air sent all of them turning on heel to find an equally irritated and equally fuming Supergirl towering over them with the kind of anger usually reserved for the extra-bad baddies.
“S-supergirl,” they all seemed to whimper in unison.
The camera was fumbled then dropped. The lens splintered with a deserved crack. A few short seconds later, it was the only evidence anyone with a press badge had been there.
“Where’d you take them?” Lena asked when Kara whooshed down moments later. She pushed off the brick wall and closed the distance, raising her hands to fix Kara’s ruffled cape.
“I considered the middle of the Pacific-” Kara shrugged.
“Oh is that right?” Lena smirked, letting her hands climb to brush an errant strand of hair into place.
“But then I remembered the whole ‘hope, help, and compassion’ thing,” she continued, her own hands finding a home on Lena’s waist. “So I dropped them off just outside the city limits instead.”
And there it was: the secret. Somewhere between Kara, all beet-faced and rage hovering over the cowering reporters and then dragging said group of gaggling reporters to the edges of town, Lena felt it - that tiny pang of warmth and safety and appreciation that always came with her overprotective Kryptonian. It also usually sent a tiny pang of something else through her.
“Well that was very big of you,” Lena replied, the gap between lips narrowing. “But just so you know,” she continued, her breath ghosting across Kara’s lips, “I had it handled-”
Kara skipped her lines and closed the gap, pressing lips, hands, and body against Lena until her back found the brick wall again and nothing but the taste, touch, and smell of Kara consumed her. Lips dragged to Lena’s jawline then neck then exposed shoulder. Hands grabbed against the restrictions of fabric. Lena cursed (again) the constraints of a supersuit.
“I really need to design you a new suit,” Lena huffed.
“Probably for the best.” Kara replied, fingers venturing dangerously close to public indecency. “Alex says we need to leave before someone sees us anyway.”
“Tell Alex to stop committing voyeurism. There are websites for that.”
“Oh, she did not like that,” Kara snickered, lips pressing a final kiss to the crook of Lena’s neck.
“Turn that thing off and take me home, Supergirl.”
“What about our reservations?”
“I have other dinner plans tonight.”

This is all your fault! How would the ROs react to the MC sleeping with Chris after all they put them through? Crushing stage.
I will take the blame! Just gonna break our sweet babe's hearts over here. We getting angsty~ (Below the cut, because it's about 2k words.)
Tumblr media
❤️ Cam - Why? After all that, why? What hold does Chris have on you? Do you still love them, do you miss them, did you just need someone? I thought things were finally fucking working with us. What does Chris give you that I can't?
The first thing Cam notices is how numb he feels, but that's not all there is. He feels like he's close to boiling over like he's about to lose it. Lose you, all over again. He wants to think it was a slip-up, an old habit or it was done to get closure. He can't bear the thought it's more, he can't, fuck that he won't. You two have been closer lately, in a different way, a way he's always hoped for.
"Please, just tell me why? That's all I'm askin'." his breath hitched between words. He tried to steady himself, but his words came out in a shaky whisper, lips trembling.
"I didn't," you try to collect your thoughts, try not to look at the redness of his eyes, the rising of his chest, the clenching of his fist. You try to swallow around the lump in your throat. "we were drinking. Then we were arguing, and then it just, it just happened." Cam squats down in front of you, his hand reaches for your own. His grip tightens around your hand, fingers entwining firmly with yours in a way that felt both protective and unyielding. His thumb tracing small circles on the back of your hand, a subtle yet possessive gesture. His eyes lock onto your own, a mix of intensity and determination in his gaze.
The idea of the MC and Chris together tore at him, a visceral pain that made his stomach churn. "After everything?" he asked, his voice cracked, the raw vulnerability breaking through his anger.
His gaze bore into yours, a desperate plea hidden beneath the hurt. "You can't still want them," he says it more to himself than to you. "Please, please for fucks sake don't let this mean you want Chris." he's shaking. It takes everything in you not to grab him to comfort him, as you reach out he steps back, a mixture of pain in his eyes, pain and something else. "You're mine." he whispers, not breaking eye contact. "Not Chris's."
He searches your face, Cam has always claimed you in some way. His family, his best friend, is that what he means now? "Tell me it didn't mean anything," he whispers his voice barely audible. "Tell me you don't want them, because I can't stand the thought of losing you to Chris again. I can't."
Tumblr media
💙 G - "Say it again." their voice is cold, as soon as you told them you slept with Chris you could see their wall go back up. So stoic, so detached, as if what has happened between the two of you over the past few months hadn't begun to thaw them out. Remind them of what you two had shared.
You begin again, meeting their hard gaze. "I said-" Before you're able to finish G turns and begins to walk out, but they stop. They stop, and they turn and they study you. Your face, your body, the way your breathing picked up.
"Where are they?" if you hadn't known G previously, you never would have noticed the change in their voice. The slightest change, that tells you they're angry. They're pissed, and they're going to do something about it. "Who?" "Chris." "At my...their.. their apartment. G what are you doing?"
They don their coat, and before exiting they turn to look at you over their shoulder. "Wait here for me, I'm settling this one way or another." They don't wait for an answer, because they know after everything that's happened, you'll wait. Just like they did.
Tumblr media
💚 Kara - "What? No. No way, Chris wouldn't-"
"I wanted to tell you, I thought. Fuck, I don't know what I thought, but you needed to know."
She's pacing, curling a piece of hair around her finger, and mumbling to herself. "But Chris, why? It doesn't make sense alright, why after everything?"
"It just, I don't know alright. We were talking and I don't know, okay? It's like I felt all these emotions and I was angry and I just I don't know. In some fucked up way I wanted to do it to get back at Jade."
"Is that it? That's all there is, you don't still care about-"
Before she can finish you're shaking your head. You're quick to make that apparent to her. You were angry, you wanted to hurt them to hurt Jade, not Kara. That was never the intention.
"I need to talk to them. I don't, why would Chris do this? To Cam, yeah they would do this. But, to me?"
Tumblr media
💛 M - They haven't said anything since you told them you had slept with Chris. You could feel their nervousness, with how they bounce their knee and tap their fingers along their thigh. "M-" "Thank you, for telling me. But, I-I don't understand why it happened. So.." They turn then, their eyes looking you over taking you in as you sit on the edge of their couch. "You fucked."
It catches you off guard, not because you haven't heard M swear before, but because they struggle talking about sex when they're writing it. "Wha-"
"Shit, fuc- I..sorry. I didn't mean to say it out loud." They mumble, voice shaky not meaning to let their thoughts slip out. At least not in front of you. "M it's not that sim-" "I'm not sure I want to know. I don't...want to think of the two of you, bodies hot and writhing and lips in places and-" M stands, hands pulling on the bottom of their sweater pulling it as they pace back and forth in front of the couch. "with them though? With them? I know it can happen, I mean I've written something like that happening," M looks you over, their brows furrowed. They speak in a rapid-fire rush, words tumbling over each other.
M's eyes dart around nervously, and they fidget with their hands, pulling at a piece of thread at the bottom of their sweater.
There is heat in their gaze, is it anger? Is it more? "I thought if you were going to fuck someone it would be m-" M slaps their hand over their mouth, stopping their pacing. They shake their head, as your eyes meet. Who, who would it be? M pulls their sweater up to cover the bottom of their face, the growing blush creeping up their neck to their cheeks. In a high-pitched voice, they yell "Excuse me!" before rushing into the bathroom. Groaning loudly "Fucking shit balls, damn it. Get it together."
Tumblr media
💜 Isaac - You think for a second Isaac is going to say something, with the way their mouth opens. But, they say nothing instead running a hand along the back of their neck. "Well, I'm happy for you. I mean it's not like you're interested in anyone right? Not like we're serious or anything." They say it so effortlessly, or at least it sounds it. But really, it takes everything in them to say it. They don't want to get close, this just helps them not. Knowing you were with Chris, they have no right to care because they haven't made a move, not really. Yet it hurts, it fucking hurts and they don't want to admit it. No, must be the hours they've worked, they need sleep, they need time. To sulk, to be jealous, wait no..no. That's the last thing Isaac needs. "I..wouldn't say that." Isaac snaps around to look at you, "So you do care about Chris, after everything?" "No, no it was, I don't know closure in a way. We were arguing and Chris kissed me. That was their favorite way to end old arguments. It helped in a way, because a part of me would always wonder if leaving them was the right choice. Now I know." In a way, Isaac respects that. Because they never got that kind of closure, like a wound that never heals, always festering deep inside. "So..was it?" The question leaves their mouth before they can stop it, because damn it if they don't want to know. Was this thing the two of you have been trying to start worth it? Was it what you wanted? Do you finally know, that you want someone, someone standing right in front of you?
Tumblr media
🖤 Ardent - He laughed, but there was no joy in the sound. It was a hollow, bitter laugh. His lips twisted into a grimace as he tried to mask his feelings.
"Why are you laughing?" "Because that's just how it goes isn't it? You and me, this twisted little game we got going on. I knew something was off because I know for a fucking fact I didn't put this on you." His large hand yanks the collar of your shirt over, the purplish mark still very much visible. You go to slap his hand away, embarrassed. You wanted to tell him, to be honest. Not because you wanted Chris, you drank you drank so much and Chris was there and you wanted to hurt them, hurt Jade. So you slept with Chris. Worst fucking decision ever. Ardent grabs your wrist, his eyes staring at the mark, at the reminder of what happened. You watch his tongue dart out to lick his lips, as he leans his head forward. "What the fuck are you doing!?" You step back, but he follows. Still holding your wrist, his other hand clinging to your hip. Your cheeks are red with your embarrassment. "Don't move." His voice is stern, as he shifts closer to you, pressing his body against you, turning your head to bare your neck to him. "Is this some weird ass kink of yours or something? Stop looking at it!" You press your hands against his chest but it only makes him growl. Sending a shiver down your spine, but not out of fear, much worse than that. Something you should probably talk to a therapist about. "If this is what you do to get my attention, then congratulations you have it. Every last fucking ounce. "I was drunk damn it. Not like I judge who the hell comes out of your apartment." "No one's come out since this shit started, and you know it. Only one other person comes in here that isn't me." His breath is warm on your neck, and it excites you. Sleeping with Chris wasn't meant to make Ardent want you more, but some fucking how, it did just that. You feel his warm tongue dart against the hickey, and it almost causes you to moan but you stifle it, the sound getting lost in your throat. You hear him snicker, as his teeth bite in just enough. A little bit of pain, with a little bit of pleasure, as he begins to suck. Marking over Chris's hickey. He lets go his lips making a loud pop as he pulls away. "Now, where is this shit stain?" "Wha-who?" You arch your brow and Ardent stares at you, not needing to say Chris's name. "Why, what are you going to do, punch them?" He smirks at you, pulling your hand away from the mark on your neck, his teeth marks marring your skin. "That's the first thing."

okay hear me out cheerleader au but make it supercorp but it gets better bc its kara who's a cheerleader bc she's nice, and cute and has really nice hair and she looks super cute in really short skirts and lena is the smart one but not nerd smart but like genius smart head of the academic school decathlon smart coming from a family of pure scientist and genius smart but she's adopted and lena has this constant need to prove herself worthy of her last name and maybe it doesn't help that her step mother keeps reminding her how she needs to "do better" constantly so she doesn't have a lot of friends maybe it has something to do with the fact that she comes from an elite family and doesn't shy away from acting like they're better than everyone else even tho lena hates it but she's too busy studying to care about what other people think or to have friends except for maybe sam but sam was a friend out of convenience also bc sam's parents work for lena's parents and they were besties since they had to spend a lot of time together when both parents are stuck in meetings and sam also helped lena discover that she might be a little gay. okay, that's a lie she's really really gay but she's too busy to even be gay except maybe for one particular cheerleader who constantly gives her a shy smile and looks at her like she wants to say something but always chickens out the last minute and it doesnt help that every time kara performs she makes sure to lock her eyes on lena the whole time and lena doesnt even like watching football but when sam forced her one time to watch bc sam has a huge crush on one of the players who also happens to be kara's sister, it was then lena find herself mesmerized by the way kara moves her body but lena's sure its a coincidence bc kara's not even gay i mean she never said she was straight either but she's perfect and have only publicly dated men but then whenever they cross paths kara would always say hi and wait, kara knows lena's name?? i mean, lena and kara arent even friends and the only time they talked was on middle school where they had to take care on an egg and be its parents but that was ages ago surely kara wouldn't remember her they barely even spoke but one day kara is walking towards lena and lena panics and starts to freak out and she's conflicted whether to close her locker, bolt and run or jump inside her locker and hide so she ends up slamming her head with her locker instead and she lets out multiple curse words until she hears soft laughter beside her and oh wow, kara danvers is so pretty and she has the prettiest eyes she's ever seen and her lips. It's probably not polite to stare but she can't help it. She's only but a gay teenager and wait, her lips are moving. She's saying something. Kara Danvers, head cheerleader is talking to her and she tries to come back to reality only for her to hear "...so I was hoping you'd be free next week since I'll be having a party" and and and and....

With the exciting news of Kon being in MAWS season 3 (!!!!!), do you have an specific recs for him when it comes to comics? (I know Young Justice is good for him, but not much outside of that)
hello! exciting news indeed!!! and hell yeah, here are some kon-centric comics outside of yj that i’ve enjoyed reading:
Reign of the Supermen arc (1993)
Tumblr media
this arc has kon’s intro, well before he even had the name kon, and it’s worth a read if you haven’t already because of the way he shows up and is peak annoying immediately (said with love). especially Adventures of Superman #501! (the storyline spans a number of titles, reading order here)
(and for a related rec, the reign of the superman (2019) animated movie blends aspects of the original comic arc with the “kon is made with lex luthor’s dna” reveal/retcon; it’s a fun watch! left me with Much To Think About pang-wise, too.)
Superboy (1994)
Tumblr media
the most concentrated amount of og jacket and glasses superboy you’ll find in one series; there’s a lot going on here, most of it so very 90s (both in the plot/world and on a more meta level) and also so many adorable kons. special shoutout to my favorite side character, krypto in his “tiny white terrier with a giant attitude” form. (and for a more specific rec i’ll point to issues #60 - 61, in which kon is hopping through multiple realities and we see, among others, robin!kon and “supergrrrl” kon.)
Batgirl (200) #41
Tumblr media
this is the issue where cass goes “hmm, i should try to do A Romance” and shows up outside kon’s window to see what all the fuss is about, and they proceed to have the most lavender date of all lavender dates. i adore kon’s inability to shut up here, and also for obvious reasons need to give it a special shoutout for kon taking a “bat-babe” on a date in the clouds.
Adventure Comics (Vol 2) #1 - 6 (2009)
Tumblr media
this arc serves to re-settle kon into the world (and smallville) after the whole [waves hand] dying and coming back to life thing. (technically it’s 12 issues, but you’re asking for specific recs so my specific recs are the first six!) this is about kon starting life in smallville and having a prolonged identity crisis re: the superman + lex luthor of it all. cassie, bart, and tim all show up as significant guest stars (one of my fav tim & kon issues of all time is in here) but it’s very kon-centric! i also really enjoy the art, especially when it does wide/landscape shots.
Superboy (2010)
Tumblr media
this is a pretty direct continuation from the adventure comics arc, once again feat. kon’s 21st century black t-shirt (sigh) and also kon wearing the tiniest, goofiest pair of Disguise Glasses. that said, it’s a fun, classic “teen superhero juggles school and crushes and a statistically high number of supervillains for a small town (seriously, what the hell was poison ivy even doing in kansas?)” series. also if there were any justice in the world simon valentine would’ve been one of those crushes, but alas.
Convergence: Superboy (2015) #1 - 2
Tumblr media
i’ll be honest, i’m not super familiar with the overarching convergence storyline, but i really enjoyed this two-shot featuring a kon who has been stuck in metropolis without his powers, only to suddenly gain them back and immediately start brawling with alternate versions of heroes he knows. i also like the art in this one, and the character designs overall—leather jacket kon my beloved!
Action Comics (2016) #1020 - 1028 (“House of Kent” arc)
Tumblr media
this sequence brings kon back into the kent family fold after the timeline fuckery (and i think follows from the young justice (2019) gemworld arc where they re-find kon?)—so basically it’s kon’s re-introduction to clark, and to lois and jon (who’s visiting from his own future adventure) and kara and martha and jonathan. despite spelling conner’s name two different ways in the span of a few issues, it’s a neat speedrun of different kon+superfam interactions, and also a fun time for anyone who’s a fan of kon being solidly part of the kent family. also: jacket kon is back 🙏
this is not at all an exhaustive list, just some of my favs--happy reading!

Twilight
“In hindsight, I probably should have known what it meant,” Alex groans, bringing both hands up to cover her face. “I made sure that I only hung up the posters that had Kristen Stewart on them.”
Kara remembers all those posters, the too pale boys possessively flanking the movies’ main female character. She’d always wondered why Alex was so into the Twilight series; they were all just…so bad. Now it made more sense.
“Aw, babe,” Kelly teases, “let me know if you want me to reenact any of your teenage dreams about biting. I’m game.”
Alex groans again, but this time it’s accompanied by a bright blush.
Laughter fills the room. They’ve been sharing stories about their first significant celebrity crushes for the last few minutes, the board game temporarily abandoned in front of them.
Kara has learned that Nia had a thing for Keanu Reeves after watching that bomb on a bus movie one too many times, but that she also “wouldn’t have kicked Sandra Bullock off her bed”, as she put it.
Brainy mentioned that he went through a rather intense phase of trying to learn more about Earth culture, specifically American pop culture, and that he got stuck on the OG Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, for a while. Not a bad choice, Kara thinks while Nia jokes that she’d be more than happy to tie him up with a lasso.
Kelly then rattles off a few actors that Kara thinks were on the L Word, with a particular emphasis on Jennifer Beals. Kara half expects Alex to make a joke about Flashdance, but instead, Alex simply leans into Kelly and presses a soft kiss to her cheek.
When they get to Kara, she has to disappoint.
“I don’t think I have anything to offer here. Not really.”
Alex hums. “The posters on your walls were all images from the Hubble telescope. I mean, I know you liked NSYNC for their music, but I don’t think you ever swooned over any of them. Not really. There was definitely a mental love affair with Lilo and Stitch, though.”
When Alex mentions the Hubble images, Kara feels a cool pale hand slip into hers to give it a short squeeze. It’s brief, a quick show of support, but it means everything to Kara. She turns to Lena and smiles gratefully. At the same time, the attention of the rest of their friend group shifts to Lena as well.
But Lena just shrugs. “I definitely wasn’t allowed to hang up any posters in the Luthor mansion.”
“Yeah, but what about boarding school? Come on, Luthor,” Alex probes, “you can’t tell me there wasn’t a ton of celebrity gossip going around at an all-girls school.”
“Oh there was gossip alright. I can’t say I ever really knew what it was about, though. I didn’t really watch movies or TV growing up, so most of the names the girls were talking about meant nothing to me.”
This time, it’s Kara who squeezes Lena’s hand. She knows that Lena doesn’t like to talk about what growing up was like for her. She doesn’t like the pitying looks, or the constant assumptions that just because her family was rich, Lena must have had everything she ever wanted. But before the mood in the room turns too gloomy, Lena sits up a little, a small smirk on her face.
“So maybe I was a bit of a late bloomer that way. I would say I had my first real celebrity crush in my early 20s.”
That gets everyone’s attention.
“Oh really? Who was it?” Nia asks gleefully.
“Well, I was still in Metropolis at the time. But I had watched them on TV, followed their budding celebrity status.”
Lena pauses for a moment before she turns to face Kara more fully.
“And then I gave Jack Spheer an impassioned speech about why I had to move to National City, about how important it was to me to be the Luthor living in the same city as Supergirl. I believe I even said I wanted to share my home with her.”
There’s a stunned silence in the room for a few seconds before Alex barks out a laugh.
“Really? Your celebrity crush was Supergirl?”
And Kara considers if she should intervene, tell Alex to lay off on the heavy teasing she knows is going to happen now, but Lena is looking at her and she’s still smiling, calm and confident, and Kara simply smiles right back.
Lena chuckles, her eyes never leaving Kara’s. “Of course it was. I mean, have you seen that skintight suit and very, very short skirt she was in at the time?”
“Ugh,” Alex huffs, “I didn’t need to hear that. That’s my sister you’re talking about.”
Lena shrugs again. “You asked, I answered.”
And then she leans in and kisses Kara and Kara makes a mental note to figure out how to send a message to Winn into the future to thank him for his incredibly “male gaze” costume design for her first Supersuit.
(She does very much prefer the pants these days, though.)

It wasn’t Kara that destroyed her.
In her secret heart, Lena craved that. She wanted Kara to give back everything Lena had thrown at her. Defeat her. Crush her. Cast her down and treat her like a villain. After all, why had Kara lied? Conspired? Tricked her and manipulated her? Why do all that if she wasn’t a villain?
In her quietest moments with Myriad in her hands or staring at the twisted visage of an alien murderer, a quiet voice from deep within her whispered the truth she could never let herself feel:
This is what you are. It’s in the blood.
If Kara would just treat her like a villain, it would all make sense. There would be no more nagging doubts, no more questions, no more hateful longing. Lena has done everything she could to carve it out of her chest, but it gave her no relief, only the raw throbbing pain of a ragged wound that wouldn’t close.
Then she had been at L-Corp when Jess ran into her office in a blind panic, shouting that she had to turn the television on now, that something terrible had happened.
Lena stared at her dumbly because she already knew. She could feel it somehow, a wash of graveyard chill that enveloped her from nowhere and froze the rotten lump where her heart had been. Her hand shook as she lifted the remote and turned on the screen.
The news chyron stuck her like a hammer blow to the chest and her pathetic excuse for a last meal -a cold half of a Big Belly burger she’d eaten the night before- leapt into her throat, trying to escape.
Supergirl Dead?
They hadn’t called her, and why would they? Why seek her help after all she’d done?
Lena pushed to her feet, almost tumbling to the floor in the process. The news was repeating a ten-second clip, showing a red-white beam slicing through the midday air, so bright that it distorted the image as it struck a tiny blue and red blur and knocked her out of the sky as if a giant hand had swatted her to the ground.
She was moving before she realized she’d taken a step.
“Cancel all my meetings,” Lena snapped.
“But the Japanese investors,” Jess said, lamely.
“Fuck the Japanese investors, cancel all my meetings!”
She pushed past Jess and stormed to her private elevator, twisting the key so hard it nearly snapped. She paced the full two minutes it took to to descend to the garage. There would be no summoning a driver. She ran barefoot across the parking garage floor to the Bugatti and threw herself inside.
When she arrived at the DEO, there was chaos. It took a moment before anyone noticed a barefoot, red-eyed Lena Luthor running into the lobby in a blind panic. When they did notice, she was immediately tackled by two of their goons and handcuffs slammed on her wrists.
“What the hell are you doing?” she demanded. “I’m here to help!”
“Shut up,” the agent growled.
They sent jolts of pain up her arms as they took her in. She thought they were going to take the handcuffs off, but instead they cuffed one hand to a chain locked to a ring in the middle of a concrete table in an interrogation room.
“What the hell?” Lena screamed. “I’m here to help her!”
The door slammed heavily shit and Lena raged, yanking at the handcuffs in a futile gesture that only left her wrist raw. She thought about trying to pick them, but at this rate they might shoot her if she looked to escape. Her stomach sank and she began to spiral.
She’s dead. She’s dead and they’re going to blame me.
Hot tears burned in her eyes and she willed them not to fall, holding them back with all her might, but it was inevitable.
Finally, after what felt like half a day, Alex walked in. Lena knew at once that something terrible had happened. Kara’s sister looked like hell, with dark circles under her eyes and a pained look. She regarded Lena as if she were some ugly thing that crawled out of a crack in the foundations.
“What are you doing here?” said Alex.
“I told your thugs, I’m here to help. You’re wasting time, I need to see her now.”
“Why,” Alex said, “why on God’s green earth would I let you anywhere near her?”
Lena blinked. “At least tell me what’s wrong. I might be able to…”
“You locked her in a kryptonite cage. You talked her into breaching her morals to carry out your sick schemes. You aimed a kryptonite cannon at her face.”
“I…”
“You what? You didn’t mean it?”
“Alex,” Lena began.
“Shut up. You had me fooled, Luthor. Kara always believed in you. I didn’t. I tried to convince her to be as afraid of her as I was. I just want to know, why now? She left you alone like you wanted. You’ve been quiet. Kara insisted we give you a chance and let you be, a choice I now deeply regret. So why now? What did she do to deserve this?”
The cold fury radiating from Alex choked Lena up for a moment. Her mouth worked silently.
“You think I did this?”
“Why not? You’ve hurt her twice already.”
“I didn’t. I would never. I didn’t want her to die. I just wanted to…”
“To what?”
Lena swallowed hard, speaking before thinking.
“I wanted her to feel what I was feeling.”
Alex’s eyes narrowed and her expression went dark and hard, something vicious twisting her lips. Her hand twitched towards the bulky alien gun on her hip.
With her other hand, she pulled out a phone and turned it to Lena.
Lena’s stomach flipped when she saw Lex’s grinning face.
“I hope you enjoy your new present,” he said into the camera. “A Kryptonite particle beam enhanced with a high-powered laser tuned to a wavelength that will instantly negate her powers.”
Lex’s grin widened.
“Lena sends her regards.”
Lena blinked a few times. She wanted to thrash, yank her chain, accuse, scream.
“That’s impossible.”
“Why, because you wouldn’t?”
“I killed him,” Lena breathed.
“What?”
“Lex. Lex is dead. I killed him. I killed him!” she was almost hysterical. “I put two shots in his chest and one in his head like he taught me himself. After he escaped last time I killed him.”
Alex’s expression faltered.
“You think I’ll believe that?” she said, but sounded unsure.
“When I was twelve and Lex was away at school, Lillian got drunk and threatened me. I was scared to death she meant it. Lex gave me our father’s gun and taught me to shoot.” A brief, weak smile cursed her lips. “I didn’t realize until a lot later how fucked up that is, but it’s one of my favorite memories of him.”
“You’re telling me you killed him,” said Alex. “After you went behind our backs and used the Hardin-El to heal his ‘cancer.’”
“He was my brother.”
“And you say you killed him.”
Lena looked down, away from her. Tears fell on the table with a soft patter and she choked back a hitching sob.
“She became his new fixation. He was never going to stop. I did what I had to do.”
Alex went silent. Her hand hung by her hip and part of Lena hoped she’d make it fast, the same part that flinched when Alex moved.
The key twisted in the lock and the cuffs ratcheted open. Alex gave her arm a sharp tug. “Get up.”
Lena wobbled to her feet.
“What are you doing?”
“Shut up and walk.”
Alex led her to the elevator, and down a corridor. Kara’s frail form lay behind a layer of plastic curtains, bathed in brilliant light from sunlamps.
“If she comes around,” Alex said, her voice flat. “You can never tell her. She’ll blame herself.”
Alex parted the curtains and led Lena inside. Kara lay n a stretcher with a layer of bandages wound around her bare torso, looking pale and drawn. Her skin shone with a cold sweat and there were dark circles around her eyes. She lay in a nest of wires and was on oxygen.
“My God,” Lena whispered.
“It was like he said. Some kind of particle beam combined with the laser. It’s like she was impaled through the chest with superheated Kryptonite. If Jon hadn’t caught her, the impact would have been fatal.”
Alex rattled it all off with a cold, medical detachment, except for the tension creaking in around the edges of her voice and the way her shoulder hitched.
“You’ve hurt her so much,” Alex whispered. “I don’t think I’m ever going to fully trust you again. But for the love of God, if you can fix her then fix her.”
“I will,” Lena said, the CEO creeping back into her voice. “I’ll need materials from my lab. I’ll give a Brainy a list. I’m not leaving her.”
Lena did not sleep for another thirty-six hours. She worked tirelessly alongside Brainy, who regarded her curiously as she hunched over lab benches and uploaded instructions to nanites.
Finally she said, “what? Why are you looking at me like that?”
He turned back to his own task without answering her.
An hour later, Alex stormed in.
“She’s getting worse. Whatever you’re doing, you have to hurry.”
Brainy turned from his lab bench and took Alex’s arm. He led her into the hall and they had a clipped, quiet conversation that Lena could not hear, except for Alex’s startled cry of “WHAT?”
It didn’t matter, she was finished. She took the devil in her hands and rushed through the door.
“Let’s go, we can’t waste anymore time.”
Alex openly gaped at her, then looked at Brainy. The expression of utter shock on her face arrested Lena in her tracks.
“What?”
“I,” Alex began, but Brainy grabbed her arm and squeezed hard.
“Let’s go,” said Alex.
Lena swept into the lab carrying the module in her hands as if it were made of precious gold.
“Turn off the sunlamps,” Lena ordered the technicians. “If the poisoning progresses, they’ll kill her faster than they heal her.”
Once they were off, Lena placed the device on Kara’s chest and stepped back.
Its sensors detected the Kryptonite and the system deployed. The pod unfolded like a delicate composite flower, and a wave of nanobots poured over Kara’s skin, instantly devouring and reprogramming the nanites in the wreckage of her suit while consuming the linens and bandages to grant the system more mass.
The entire process unfolded in seconds. It ensconced her in a protective layer and expanded, rapidly building an entire protective pod around her body. Dozens of tiny needles inserted dozens of cannulas into her arms and legs and began pumping her full of nanites, sending them storming through her bloodstream.
Lena bit her lip: there was nothing to do now except watch as the system’s AI administered rapid pulses of red and yellow light to balance the speed of her healing as the nanites in her bloodstream identified irradiated particles and consumed them, using them to make more of themselves.
She sat down. She knew this would take hours.
It ended up taking three days.
Lena slept in the side chair by the bed until someone brought her an uncomfortable recliner. Alex came in and out, as did Brainy and Nia, all of them looking at her oddly.
Finally the pod made a pleasant tone and unfolded. Kara lay on her side within, the nanites having formed a new suit top around her to preserve her modesty. She still wasn’t awake, but she was breathing normally and looked for all the world like her usual beautiful self. Lena was alone with her when it happened, and was glad of it. No one saw her brush the loose strands of gold from her face, and no one saw her rest her palm on Kara’s warm cheek.
They all piled on eventually.
Kara did not wake up.
“Why isn’t she coming around?” Alex demanded. “Why doesn’t she wake up?”
“She’s in a Kryptonian healing trance,” said Brainy. “It’s part of the healing process. She will wake when she is ready.”
“When the hell will that be?”
“We should give Lena the room.”
“What? Why?”
“Trust me,” Brainy said firmly.
Lean was as bewildered as Alex. What was she supposed to do?
When they were gone, she caught herself reflected in the monitors around the bed. She looked like shit, with barely one day’s sleep in four. As haggard as she looked, she didn’t care.
What the hell? It couldn’t hurt.
Lena bent over the bed, leaning on one hand, and took Kara’s in the other.
“I don’t know if you’re in there, but if you can hear me, it’s safe now. You can wake up. We’re all here for you. I’m here.”
It might have been the exhaustion, or the desperation, or the sorrow that filled her to bursting like a molten pain, but something happened and Lena let slip something that she’d held so tight she was sure her heart had long since crushed it.
“I love you, Kara. You don’t have to love me back. You don’t even have to like me. But I need you in the world. I need you. I need you, not Supergirl. I need Kara. I need my Kara. Please, if you’re in there at all,”
Kara’s eyes fluttered open. “Lena?”
“I’m here.”
Kara blinked a few times, and her hand closed gently around Lena’s.
“I had a bad dream,” she said. “It hurt so much, it felt like my heart was ripped out and I was in a dark place, and then I heard your voice leading me home.”
Lena grinned in spite of herself, tears stinging her eyes.
“I’m sorry, Kara. For everything.”
“Hush,” Kara whispered, her angelic voice full of quiet wisdom. “We can do that later. You’re tired. Lay down.”
Lena hesitated for a bare moment and then kicked off her shoes before climbing on next to her. Once she was lying down, sleep came crashing down on her like an avalanche as Kara threw an arm over her and tucked in close.
As she drifted off, Lena heard Alex, somewhere in the hall, snap, “Brainy, you knew this entire time?!”

So when Vol 9 was airing, I saved this above gif of Weiss looking at the Rusted Knight. It's short and quick, but I always thought it was an interesting pose they did for her. Like, look at how the rest of her team looks:
Tumblr media
Ruby and Yang are surprised with Yang looking a bit more surprised. Blake is beside herself to be meeting another character, which given she's a book lover and had more or less been taking the lead throughout their Ever After journey, it would be more understandable for her to geek out over meeting him. Her stance almost mirrors Weiss' stance but not nearly as much. Her hands are closer to her waist compared to Weiss', which are raised up near her breast.
So what am I implying from this? The Rusted Knight was Weiss' fictional crush growing up.
Think about it. When Weiss was listing off two other characters back in Episode 4 “A Cat Most Curious," she named Lively Carpenter and the Rusted Knight. She described the Carpenter as "sweet" and Rusted Knight as "handsome." Now, one could make the argument that she only referred to each as "one" but I'm going based on the order she had listed them. So let's think about it. She described the Carpenter with a personality trait but described the Knight by a physical attribute. Now, we can assume The Girl Who Fell Through the World is like its real-world counterparts, Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and that it has illustrations. Yet I don't think the Jaune was ever illustrated since, while the girls might not have recognized him prior to meeting him, they might have years later since they IMMEDIATELY recognized him upon meeting in the Ever After. Oh the Rusted Knight most certainly would have been drawn, just not Jaune. So Weiss describing him as handsome is something she had to take the word of from the author and believed. I wonder if she ever imagined what he looked like under the armor? Did she have her own vision of him?
You know, we learned back in Volume 2's “Extracurricular” that Weiss has been pursued by suitors because of her last name, similar to her father marrying her mother. I no doubt believe that's why Weiss is picky about dating, and why she was so disinterested in Jaune's attempts. She saw how her father treated her mother, and vehemently does NOT want that for her life. I think, though, she may also be slightly swayed by her crush on the Rusted Knight. He was described as handsome by Lewis and didn't seem to be painted in a bad light. Maybe his depiction of a good, honest man influenced her taste. It's all just head canons, but an interview with Weiss' VA Kara a major White Knight supporter said that Weiss' type is someone who is mature and stepping up for other people. Is it possible some of this came from the Rusted Knight? He was much older than Alyx and Lewis, and since he hailed from Remnant, he wasn't zany like the Ever Afterans, making him mature. Also, he was helpful and was almost like a guide for the group up until Alyx poisoned him. That could be seen as him stepping up, especially since many of the Ever Afterans, while not evil, may not have been as helpful as him or the Cat who was just using the two humans to get out of the Ever After.
I'm going to stop there because I didn't mean for this to get out of hand. I was intending to just post this gif and do a quick little "hehe, look who has a crush" and somehow that spiraled out of control.
Anyway, Vol 9 has been over for a while, Weiss and Jaune have grown emotionally and in their relationship, and I'm curious to see what will come now that RWBY's moving to Viz Media.

It’s cannon that Kara sleep-flys, so here’s a short blurb about how her powers can be ridiculous sometime, though you always find them endearing.
Kara Danvers x Reader
It’s a Little Funny
You groaned as the loud ring of your alarm clock woke you from your peaceful slumber. Before you could even wake up properly or notice that your girlfriend wasn’t cuddling against you like how she’d fallen asleep, you hear a small gasp. You opened your eyes and rolled onto your back, looking up just in time to see Kara falling from a foot or two above you. Not a second later she landed on top of you with a small thud.
Luckily it didn’t hurt, it seemed she was able to catch her momentum just in time to not crush you with her powers, though her efforts didn’t stop her from ending up completely sprawled out on you. You wrapped your arms around your Kryptonian girlfriend, a humorous smile dawning on your face. Kara felt your body shake slightly as you started giggling beneath her.
“Well that’s new.” You teased softly in her ear as she looked up at you and groaned then buried her blushing face into your neck. “I’ss not funny.” She murmured into your warm skin but despite her words, you could feel her smiling.
“It’s a little funny babes.” You laughed again and Kara had to stop herself from smiling before looking back at you with an adorable pout on her face. Your expression softened at her cuteness. “Sorry, love.” You kissed her forehead, knowing Kara could be self conscious about her powers sometimes but you thought anything she did was adorable. Satisfied with your apology, Kara smiled and you moved to kiss her soft lips, coaxing a smile out of her. She quickly deepened the kiss, making your heart race.
You were both smiling when you finally pulled away from what had turned into a heated make out session. Glancing at the clock, you snorted. “We’re going to be late.” At your words, Kara’s eyebrows shot up and she floated into the air above you. Moving your hands quickly the guard your face jokingly, you chuckled when a small blush grew on your girlfriend’s cheeks. “I’m not going to fall again, I’m actually awake this time.” She rolled her eyes playfully at you, her face inches from yours. You smiled, reaching a hand up to cup her cheek.
“Ah but you never know, love. It’s one of the perils of having an alien girlfriend who sleep-flys.” Kara had to smile. Your smile was just too adorable and she kissed you again before the two of you finally started getting ready for the day.
As you made your way around the kitchen, making some breakfast for yourself you smiled gently when Kara walked out of the bedroom in her super suit. “Little hero action before work?” You mused, admiring your girlfriend’s arms as her muscles flexed when she opened the window. She nodded with a small smile and you gazed at her lovingly before stepping closer and putting a gentle hand to cup her cheek. Kara leaned in to kiss you before you could say anything. “I promise I’ll be careful.” She hummed when she pulled away.
Your girlfriend knew you well. You made her promise to be careful almost ever since time you parted, especially if she was in hero mode. However, you just smirked. “That’s not what I was going to say.” You smiled as Kara’s infamous crinkle appeared in her brows. “I was going to tell you to try and not fall on any unsuspecting pedestrians today because as your girlfriend, I’m the only one you’re allowed to accidentally fall on.” You joked though you were somewhat serious about the second part. Kara laughed and it was the best sound ever.
“I’ll try not to baby.” She giggled as she kissed your cheek before walking to the window, getting ready to fly away. You smirked again at her. For the strongest person in the world, one look from you like that always had her weak in the knees.
You noticed her slight stumble and burst out laughing. “Hey! What’d I say?” You chided and Kara shook her head, her face flushed once more. “You’re never going to let me live that down huh?” Her tone was serious but her expression held a bright smile. You tried not to smile back. “Nope!” You chimed with a wink. “Now go save the world, Supergirl.” You motioned for her to fly up up and away.
“I love you.” She hummed, standing on the edge of the window sill. “Have a great day love.” She added and when you blinked she was gone, leaving a slight breeze behind her. “I love you too.” You hummed back, knowing she’d be able to hear you.
With a glance at the kitchen clock, you smiled to yourself, shaking your head. Yeah. You were definitely going to be late for work.
