small/cheap anime figures from like early-mid 2000s usually have a charm to them even if they look kinda wonky. i think they’re fun because they’re kinda silly
i don’t care about “animecore” or whatever i just have ended up with a good amount of older figures for older series that i like and they’ve really grown on me

Full Foreword
(Context: I wrote a long foreword for dance with the devil but AO3 nerfed me so I'm posting it here :3)
On 30th of June 2021 I published Rabid Dreams, Neon Lights and Your Teeth on My Tongue. It was supposed to be a one shot for an exchange, one that I at first struggled to write, before suddenly managing to find my stride. And what I wrote ended up capturing my imagination so intensely and viciously that on the night I posted it, I started planning the first prequel.
It’s now 14th of June 2024.
Three years later and we are finally here.
In many ways, this fic is my child. I truly think it’s some of the best writing I’ve ever done and certainly the best, most in depth character study I’ve ever done. This fic technically has two iterations, because when I first started writing it, it was supposed to be a 10k oneshot...then a 20k oneshot...then a 70k oneshot. Faced with such a big number, I couldn’t in my right mind post it all together and expect people to read 70k incessant words of a deep au (without a ship dynamic!) so I set to separating it into chapters. To separate it into chapters each previous section of the oneshot had to be rounded into a story that could stand as a chapter, and then of course there were some things I ended up not liking about certain arcs so I changed them, expanded them, shifted the character roles around, gave certain characters more screen time and more impact and well...you can expect to read about 101k words once this fic is fully finished. Just of this. Just of the prequel from Satoru’s POV. It’s hands down the biggest thing I’ve ever written and the big word count is one of the reasons this took so long. The other reason is that I wanted to have a weekly posting schedule. Currently, all chapters save from last two have been fully written, beta read and edited. I’m confident I can give you a regular posting schedule every Friday around this time.
Now for some dedications.
Firstly, this fic is dedicated to Sesshom0ru, who originated the initial prompt that fired off the oneshot and then this fic right after it. Thank you for patiently waiting for the prequel that was promised to you three years ago lmao!
Secondly, this fic is dedicated to Frappe. I met Frappe when she did art for CotA and we became very good friends, so much so that she was quickly wrapped up into the production of this fic. Frappe was going to draw the cover for this fic as well as spot art for each chapter. We were both very excited about it and talked about it constantly and some of that art, especially the cover which is completely stunning, does exist. But unfortunately, Frappe fell out of contact almost two years ago. I don’t know what happened to her but I hope it’s nothing bad. I hope life was just life and she got carried away with it, I still hope I see her discord avatar pop up in my dms again. Out of respect for Frappe I won’t be posting any of the art she had made for the fic, but this fic is still dedicated to her and I hope that one day she still gets to read it. This is for you Frappe, thank you for loving my boys as much as I did <3.
Thirdly, and most importantly, this fic is dedicated to Ker, my beta reader. If there are readers here who had read multiple of my fics, they are probably familiar with Ker’s name. Ker beta reads most of my big projects and most of the little ones that I think are really good. The reason you might have been seeing less of their name pop up in current projects is because I had them sat and beta reading 18 chapters for this crazy fic. And they did such a wonderful job with it too. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better beta reader if I tried, couldn’t find one if I searched the whole internet for them. Ker brings such incredible love and attention to detail to beta reading and editing my fics. I’ve had a fair number of people edit my fics, but only Ker does it with such care and attentiveness. I often say, me and Ker, we are coparents of this fic. It’s theirs as much as it’s mine. They not only beta read it, but also listened to my endless rants about it, encouraged me when I had doubts and cheered me on when I did something well. They don’t just point out grammar mistakes, they carefully go through the chapter and point out where things don’t flow well, when scenes should be expanded, when things should be better explained. They also react with a lot of baby emojis to Satoru’s antics. I have taken to referring to Satoru as Ker’s son whenever he’s doing something stupid. I cannot overstate how much Ker does and has done for this fic. They truly, honestly make me a better writer, not content with just correcting my grammar and then patting my back, but constantly challenging me to do better, to develop more, to surprise them again. I cannot overstate how important Ker is to my writing process and to me personally. This is why this might sound like someone endlessly gushing about their spouse, lmao. But they do deserve it. They stuck with my crazy, violent little story from beginning to the end and are already at the next starting line, eager for more. Ker is the best beta reader I could ask for, my loudest cheerleader and my most beloved. Thank you darling, for being you, you’re irreplaceable to me <3
It might seem silly to have such a long starting note on a silly little gang au fic of a manga that has almost run its course. But this fic took three years to make. A lot of love was put into it, a lot of energy and effort. I hope you all enjoy it and love it as much I do.

part 2.
。☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆。
Walking along the streets, you didn’t have a destination in mind. Just walking around and letting fresh air clear your fogged up brain. You had been overthinking – again. It was one of those days were you couldn’t help but think back to three years ago. Tomorrow three years ago would have been the date were you and Katsuki would have said “Yes”, but alas… it all came differently.
Running your hand through your hair, you sighed deeply.
“I need to stop thinking about this. It’s been so long! Like this, I will never be able to forget him.”
But how were you supposed to forget the love of your life? Especially when it all came so quickly and out of nowhere? One day everything was fine, the next, he was gone. And as much as you tried to find him, despite him stating in the letter you shouldn’t try, it was all in vain anyways. It’s as if Bakugou Katsuki had never existed. Even his parents, that were always very much in love with you as their son-in-law, completely ignored you and cut you off.
It was such a deep cut, even time wasn’t able to heal anything. The last three years were rough. Sleepless nights were a normal thing by now. And while media praised you for working so hard on your hero career, you just pushed yourself like that so you wouldn’t need to think about the past. Because when you were working, it all just faded away.
However, after collapsing one day, the agency forced you to take time off and so you landed in Hokkaido. Far away from the bustling streets of Tokyo, your gloomy small apartment and your work place. With nothing to do, you found yourself overthinking day and night. If you just could ask him one question.
Why?
-
Putting on his scent-blocking collar, Bakugou suddenly felt a little tugging on his t-shirt, hence he looked down. [Eye.color], big eyes stared at him and the toothy smile immediately had him smiling as well.
“Are you ready to go outside, Hiroto?”, he asked his son who looked so much like you, reminding him every day what he had done.
“MH! Can I bring Popo?”, Hiroto’s big eyes sparkled a little, making it very difficult for Katsuki to say no, hence he nodded a little.
Watching his son, it only took a few moments before he came back with his stuffed animal, it was a phoenix. Rather, it was your merchandise. It… was complicated.
“Ready to go?”
“Yeess!”
And so, Katsuki locked the door behind him, leaving to go for a walk around the block and a quick park visit.
-
Leaning against a bridge, you stared down, still pondering. If you had just acted differently, maybe you could have saved your relationship. Whatever it was you had done, it pushed him away from you and it was eating you inside to not know what the reason was.
You didn’t know how many hours you had been wandering around town, trying to stop thinking, but as always, you only thought harder the less you had to do. Hence why you decided to go back to the inn you were staying at.
After hours outside, Hiroto was tired, his plushy Popo hugged tightly against his chest as he silently walked besides Bakugou along the streets. One more time, Katsuki tried to pick his son up, “Hiro? Want me to carry you home? Aren’t you tired?”
“NHN!”, he shook his head, “Daddy is never tired when he fights the bad guys! So I am also not tired.”
Hiroto was stubborn as he kept walking besides Bakugou who was just sighing a little. It was his own fault, but he couldn’t lie to his son. Without even thinking about it, Katsuki talked about you whenever you were on TV. He didn’t know why he just couldn’t keep quiet about you being Hiroto’s father. So now, whenever you were on TV, Bakugou had to lie and say you were in another country fighting the bad guys, even though you were still in Tokyo, mere 4 hours away with the train. But Katsuki couldn’t come back. Not after he had hurt you so much. It was his decision to raise Hiroto alone. You deserved to be successful, it had been your dream. Kids just weren’t a thing you had planned for, at least not with 21.
Being caught up in his own thoughts, Bakugou didn’t see you on the other side of the street. Neither did you see him. Both of you staring ahead, thinking back to three years ago, what had been and what it could have become. However, something connected you both. You never had a chance to bond with him, was it a tradition in your alpha family to bond during the wedding night, but your connection was different. Said connection was looking up and across the street.
Hiroto just looked around tiredly when he saw someone. Someone he had seen on TV multiple times. The little boy didn’t know how many times he had wanted Katsuki to show him YouTube videos of you fighting.
“HAAAHHH!? DADDY!?”, a piercing cry came from the little one, shaking you and Katsuki awake. The latter immediately grabbing Hiroto, but.. it was too late.
“HIRO?!”, he yelled, though his son ran across the streets.
You, on the other hand, were so incredibly confused. There he was, standing literally on the other side and then there was a little child, running towards you and calling for you. Was this the “Why?” you had searched for, for so long? You couldn’t think about it when your legs moved on their own to get the kid out of a potential dangerous situation.
It was a blessing that the small town didn’t have much traffic, hence why you could easily run towards him, scoop him up and get back to the safe sidewalks in mere seconds. You didn’t want to imagine what could have happened in a busy city like Tokyo.
Then you stood there, awkwardly holding Hiroto who was crying and sobbing into your t-shirt while Katsuki’s own emotions were all over the place. The Omega had never imagined the possible chance of meeting you again. After three years, all he had built up from scratch to have a comfortable life far, far away from you, as to not disturb your career, it all broke apart.
However, Bakugou wasn’t the only one hearing something shattering, your own heart dropped into your stomach. The already broken pieces shattering more when you saw the pure horror displayed on his face. This was not how you imagined meeting him again. He hated you. You were certain of that. Whatever you had done to him, he never wanted to see you again. It all was so clear to you now it almost brought you to tears then and there.
Your inner Alpha was strongly urging you to just grab him, Katsuki was your Omega, even if you never had a chance to mark him, that’s just how it was. He was yours. But…
Slowly pushing your son away you put him into Bakugou’s arms. There were no words said, the only thing disturbing the silence was Hiroto’s sobbing. Especially when you loosened his tight grip on your t-shirt, he started squirming and screaming, trying to grab onto you more. He had seen you on TV so many times and now you were right in front of him. Yet, Hiroto had to watch when you turned around and left him behind.
You had so many questions rushing through your head, but at the same time, you couldn’t bring yourself to utter them out loud. Not after seeing Bakugou’s expression. This was never supposed to happen. Even if your heart yearned for answers, especially regarding his son… your son?
Without thinking about it, Katsuki put Hiroto down to let him run after you once again. It was such an impulse thing to do, he truly didn’t know why he had done it. Though after three years, why should he hide anymore when you had seen everything now? Also… after so long, he might have not been able to ignore his heart’s desire and yearning any longer.
It was so incredibly hard to ignore Hiroto’s crying and just walk away as if it had never happened, but for the sake of Katsuki’s happiness, you chose to go. However, a sudden tug made you stop. Looking down you saw ice around your ankles. It was weak and thin, easily breakable really. Hiroto’s? When you turned around, he had already clutched your leg tightly. Why?
When you looked back up, Bakugou also stood in front of you, his ruby eyes shimmering a little.
“Do you … want to talk?”, he finally asked, his voice breaking at the end though as he tried his hardest not to cry. What was he doing? It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen you in like three weeks, it had been YEARS since he left without any other word. Why would you even want to have anything to do with him or Hiroto?
“Yes!”, you said and it truly caught the Omega off-guard. After everything he put you through… If he was in your position he probably would have been so angry and furious, but you just seemed exhausted and tired.
But finally, you would be getting some answers.
--
All night long, you couldn’t sleep. After you had calmed down Hiroto enough, Bakugou gave you a little piece of paper with his address on it. “I work until 7. So we can talk without any disturbance.”, he said when he gave you the information. It was probably for the best. You didn’t want to imagine what would happen when your feelings would overcome you out in a café. [Your.hero.name] seen screaming in Hokkaido – you could see the news all over the internet already. So, it was probably for the best to meet him at home.
But that didn’t mean you weren’t nervous. How had your ex-fiancé been living his life the past three years? It was all exciting and scary at the same time to find out those things.
When you knocked on his door, your inner Alpha was impatiently pacing up and down. It was as nervous as you. But when the door opened and Katsuki stood there, you were sure for the first time in the last 12 hours, that it wasn’t a dream. Walking inside was heaven and hell at the same time. Everything smelled like him. The Omega’s scent was so familiar, but another one was mixed in – probably Hiroto’s.
“A friend of mine is looking after Hiroto tonight so he won’t be dragged into this.”, he said, nervously fumbling with his scent-blocking collar.
It was weird wearing it at home, but for you and himself, he had to wear it. His Omega had been going in circles ever since he met you again yesterday. It wanted to be taken and to be honest, Bakugou was also close to surrender to you. But it wasn’t that easy. You probably had so many questions.
“Oh… Yeah that’s for the best. Katsuki.”, you suddenly stopped in the middle of the hallways.
“Hm?”
“I’m sorry I can't wait, but you need to tell me now. Hiroto, he… called me Daddy and he has an ice quirk… so I am not wrong to assume that he is… our son?”
Katsuki could vividly feel your emotions, the Omega was shuddering, his throat dry and hands sweatier than usual.
“Yeah…”, was all he could choke out.
“Oh.. my God.”, you just mumbled to yourself. Hearing it out loud was like another punch in your stomach.
“Did you… leave me when you were pregnant?”, was your next question, still standing in the middle of the hallway.
However, Katsuki couldn’t even blame you. There were so many questions left unanswered.
“We were too young…”, his ruby eyes were shimmering again with tears, but he tried his best to keep them at bay.
“Too young?”, you were speechless for a moment, before looking back, “Why didn’t you tell me?! Why did you just… leave? Why… did you do everything yourself?!”
Now you were finally angry. After so long, you just couldn’t understand why he would leave you without saying anything. It could have all come differently if Katsuki would have just been honest!
“You had your career?! A baby didn’t just… fucking fit into our lifestyle! What else could I have done?!”, Bakugou yelled back. He knew it would come to this.
“SO?! You also had your career, we were both working hard to become well-known heroes so that’s not a fucking excuse. What else?? You seriously ask me?!”, you gestured wildly.
“You wouldn’t have wanted to raise a child, it was too soon!”
“It was NOT your right to decide that for me!”, you yelled, your voice breaking as tears welled up.
Bakugou once again being a little taken aback. His heart was racing and his tears so close to falling.
“You could have asked me, we could have worked it out.”, the first tears successfully fought their way out as they rolled over your cheeks.
“I loved you SO MUCH. If it was possible I would have literally brought you the stars from the sky. I would have done anything. And you? You just leave. Without anything but a letter telling me you cannot marry me. Do you have the slightest idea how I felt?”, your voice was shaking and breaking here and there, but it was freeing to finally let it all out.
“I thought it was for the best. I didn’t know what to do.“, Bakugou’s voice was so uncharacteristically weak and small.
“You didn’t know?? Did you never trust me, Katsuki? Was I just- such a horrible Alpha to you? Did you think I’d force you to an abortion? Was I not good enough to be a father?!”, you asked trying so hard not to scream, but all these pent up feelings, it all just gushed out without any sort of valve to stop yourself.
“That’s not it! I knew you wouldn’t do that, I just-“
“WHAT? Please tell me why! Why?! Why was I not worthy to be your mate? Why did you refuse to tell me and just leave?! Why did you chose raising OUR baby alone, I-“
“I DON’T KNOW, OKAY?! I don’t know! It was a fucking stupid decision out of nowhere!”, he finally screamed back, tears cascading down his face.
“Don’t you think I have regretted it? Do you think I LIKE being a single parent?! I know I fucked up. I know I threw it all away because I panicked, okay?! I just panicked and before I knew it I was on the train.”, Katsuki sobbed, desperately wiping away his tears.
“We were so fucking young! We had planned to marry, we were talking about saving up for the future to build a house, to have a family in like 10 years or more. But… But I just messed up! I forgot to take my medication before going into Heat, it was my fault I got pregnant- I… I couldn’t bring myself to tell you. Throw everything we planned out the window because I was too fucking stupid to remember.”, his voice broke horribly, being squeaky from time to time as Bakugou’s guilt just overflowed.
The Omega was shaking and instinctively, you and your inner Alpha wanted to protect him. Hence why you wiped away your tears and took a deep breath to calm yourself.
“I know I messed up. Fuck.”, he cried and yet laughed at himself. Hands buried in his hair, Bakugou just wanted to cease to exist in that moment. He had done so many things wrong in his life. The only good thing that had ever happened was meeting you and falling in love with you and even that he destroyed.
He was gasping for air due to talking nonstop while gesturing with his hands wildly. And then, you just hugged him. Your Alpha scent surrounding him and soothing him. Your arms strong and warm, just perfect to melt into them and let everything loose. Oh, how he had missed that.
“I just… wish you had given me a choice. I wish you would have trusted me more. I would have done anything for you and our baby. It would have been hard, I know, but I am sure we would have been able to make it work.”, you quietly said while soothingly caressing his back and letting a quiet, calming purr erupt from your throat. A sign how close you truly were as you would never purr for anyone else than Bakugou.
“I’m sorry.”, Bakugou sobbed and clawed at your clothes, “I love you and I missed you and.. it was so hard alone, but I know I don’t have any fucking right to complain about it because it’s all my fault and I hurt you so much and-“
You hugged him a little tighter.
“I regret everything, I… I… can you forgive me? Can you give me a second chance? I know I don’t deserve it. I know…”
Had you ever seen him so weak before? No. And it truly tugged on your heart strings. There is nothing you wanted more. Get back together. Be happy again. But-
“Katsuki… have you ever thought of coming back to me? Like, if I had never shown up, if I had never found out… wouldn’t you keep on living without me just fine? Don’t you think this is your guilty conscious speaking? You don’t want me. You don’t need me.”
That was the last thing you said before you pulled back from him at last. Bakugou was quite speechless, just staring at you, red, swollen eyes and a tear-stained face made it hard to just go. But it was for the better. Even if he had regretted it, he was never pushed so far as to come back to you. Like that, maybe it was for the best.
Though before you could turn away, he grabbed your hand.
“Katsuki…”
“I wanted… during the pregnancy, after Hiroto was born and every time I saw you on TV, I was so close to leaving all of this. But at that point, I was too fucking scared. I had no right to go back… There are so many letters I’ve written and never sent. [Your.name], I… I literally have a suitcase ready to go. I’ve been waiting for some sort of sign or I don’t know and now? You’re here. Right here in front of me. I know it’s foolish and I’m stupid and have no fucking right to demand this from you, but please… Let me come back. Please forgive me. Please… be Hiroto’s father.”
He had never in his life begged. His superiority complex definitely wouldn’t allow for any of that, but right now was different. He realized the hurt he had caused. How wrong he was. Bakugou had regretted running away in the first week of living in Hokkaido. He always told himself it was “the right thing”. So maybe it was pathetic that he came crawling back, but if there was a slight chance you would take him back, he just had to take it.
You just sighed. Your heart was confused. While your heart screamed yes over and over again, your brain was telling you no. What if it was just a spur of the moment thing? What if he would leave you again when things would get tough?
But then, you looked down and onto his hand. The gold engagement ring you had gotten him around four years ago was still on his ring finger.
“You still… wear it?”, you asked as you reached for the hand that gripped your wrist tightly. His hands were shaking still – you have never seen him like that.
“It’s the only thing that kept me connected to you…”
“Katsuki…”
Reaching out, you cupped his face with your big hand, the Omega instinctively leaning against it. It was okay. Even if you were to get hurt again. Even if you forgave too quickly. Everything was okay now as you leaned in to connect your lips.
Holding onto you immediately, Bakugou’s fingers clawed at your t-shirt not wanting to let go ever again. Your lips melting together, emotions overwhelming you both as you pressed him into the wall. One hand reaching up to his collar. It took mere seconds for it to snap open. Then it fell to the floor, unleashing all of Bakugou’s Omega scent.
It being overwhelming was quite the understatement. Your knees were weak and legs shaking. You couldn’t resist the urge to bury your face in the crook of his neck.
“Oh my God…”, you moaned as you slowly slid down onto the ground with him, Katsuki just whimpering as he hugged your body as close as possible.
He would never let go again – never!
-
With your teeth gracing along his neck, your sweaty bodies collided over and over again. Bakugou only able to sob as he held on to your hands tightly, nails digging into your skin and almost drawing blood.
You were hovering above him, hearing his cries and sobs. The sweet scent from his neck being so irresistible. You just wanted to bite. Mark him. It had been a tradition in your household to do so on your wedding night, but…
“Do it…”, you suddenly heard.
Bakugou could barely choke it out, ruby eyes filled with tears of pleasure as he whispered one more time, “Do it… It’s overdue…”
And then, without thinking twice about it anymore, you grabbed him tightly while your teeth sank into his skin.
A marvelous burning pain rushing through his body almost made Katsuki pass out. The sweet torture of being bonded to his mate was almost too much. That was all he had longed for, for so long. He didn’t know why you would take such a coward like him back, but he was so grateful and plain… happy.
--
Once you opened your eyes the next morning, it all felt like a dream. Especially when you reached to your side and it was empty.
Sitting up abruptly, you looked around – definitely not your room. So what happened last night was not a dream. However…
Without putting anything on, your heart was beating so fast when you rushed outside the bedroom door. Flashbacks to three years ago were haunting your mind.
“Katsuki?”, you tore open the next door, prepared to just see another letter on one of the tables.
Though it, thankfully, wasn’t the case. There he was, standing in the kitchen, your flannel from yesterday the only thing covering his body while he was talking to someone on the phone. Unintentionally, tears had formed in your eyes, but now, you just sighed shakily and wiped over your eyes quickly.
Bakugou, who had turned around once he heard you calling for him, certainly had his heart sinking in the pit of his stomach.
That was his fault.
“Okay… okay, thank you.”, then he ended the call and turned to you, “Sorry, it was about Hiro. Akitoshi will bring him over before lunch.”
“Ah? Mh, okay.”
“Hey…”, putting his phone onto the table, he walked towards you. The Omega’s strong arms wrapped around your waist as he cuddled against your chest.
“I am not running away again. I promise.”, Katsuki barely whispered.
Hugging him tightly with your hand buried in his hair, you just quietly sighed and then kissed his forehead before leaning your head against his.
“I know. I just need some time.”, you also said quietly and Bakugou understood.
Hence why he reached out to cup your face, smiling softly.
“I love you.”
A small smile also flitted across your lips. Your hands cupping his own as you leaned down to kiss him.
“I love you, too.”
Walking back into the bedroom, Bakugou soon lost the flannel again as he slipped into bed, snuggling against you; legs tangled and naked bodies melting together. Unintentionally your hand had slipped down to his belly. That’s when you felt uneven skin and a scar underneath your fingertips. Yesterday, you were caught up in all your pent up emotions too much, so you didn’t notice.
It was his C-Section scar.
“Katsuki?”
“Hm?”
“Tell me about Hiroto.”
Subconsciously, his lips curved into a smile. That you wanted to know more about your son melted his heart but also made him feel more guilty. If only he could turn back time.
“Yeah.”, and then, he started talking and you just listened to the soothing voice of your Omega.
There were three years to catch up on, but due to Katsuki telling your son about you all the time, at least it was easier for Hiroto. With how he was clinging to you yesterday, it was obvious he loved you even though he had never met you in person. And you wanted to be there for him at last. You had only met him yesterday for a brief moment but your heart was already filled with so much love that you wanted to give to him.

Debts and balances: or how much does one man have to pay over the course of his life?
Good morning everyone! Today we’re going to be talking about debts, and why Jiang Cheng needs to shut the fuck up on debts because he is the one in the wrong pretty much the entire time.
Let’s start by acknowledging that I am not of this culture so I may perhaps state a thing or two wrong, but I also have several functioning brain cells to rub together and I pay attention so I will probably be more right than most of the “hot takes” I see on why Jiang Cheng is not actually in the wrong here. Because he is. He so is.
So, debts. First of all, there are multiple levels and layers of debts and to whom do you owe them too. So let’s start with the first one where the story is subtle about it and yet both Jiang Cheng and Madam Yu are in the wrong. We know that Cangse Sanren saved Jiang Fengmian’s life at one point when they were young. Life debts are big. To only be alive because of someone else’s actions is a debt that it is possible you will never be able to pay back. There are multiple stories of otherwise good people protecting the obvious villain because they owe that.
Jiang Fengmian’s only way of being able to pay back that debt after Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze die is to take care of their child and raise him how they would have. I.E, as a cultivator. This is not a debt that Wei Wuxian owes to the Jiangs. It is quite literally, the least of what Jiang Fengmian owes him and his parents to do.
Jiang Cheng cannot claim that Wei Wuxian owes them for his life. He is wrong.
Next debt that even Jiang Cheng does not try to claim, only his ever so pleasant stans, the fucking dogs. The fucking dogs that he does not actually give a fuck about.
Wei Wuxian does not ask anyone to do anything about the dogs. He is not in a mental state to. He is in a state of triggered phobia where his brain literally goes into run away screaming mode. This is also not funny and Jiang Cheng is a jackass for making fun of it whenever it happens. Jiang Fengmian is the one who decides that it’s better for the dogs to go. Even though Jiang Cheng is upset, he does not actually hold this as a lingering grudge against Wei Wuxian. He lets it the fuck go. And even if he didn’t, the resentment and anger should be aimed at the person who actually made a decision about it. Not Wei Wuxian. He does not give one singular fuck about his dogs later on. Let the fucking dogs go.
Third off: The Fall of Lotus Pier. There are different levels of blame that we can lay on this. Wei Wuxian is not close to responsible for this. Jiang Cheng knows this and elects to blame him anyway.
The first people we can lay the blame on the fall of Lotus Pier is the Wens, who came with ships, warriors, Wang Lingjiao to rile up the notoriously short tempered asshole Madam Yu, and Wen Zhuliu the Core-Melting Hand. They came prepared for battle and they got what they wanted. Madam Yu is the second one we can lay the blame on, for deciding to attack and demean Wang Lingjiao, not for making her do anything she didn’t want to do, because holy hell did she want to whip Wei Wuxian until he couldn’t move and leapt at the chance to do such a thing, but because Wang Lingjiao is a servant who was elevated by her lover and Madam Yu is a classist asshole. This is the only reason she flips out. Wei Wuxian did nothing wrong. Wei Wuxian does not have the blood of Lotus Pier on his hands, he is tied to Jiang Cheng and told to protect him at the cost of his life, a debt he does not owe.
The four debt he attempts to claim, the only one that might be considered to have some teeth if it weren’t for how much Wei Wuxian gives him back almost immediately. Jiang Cheng goes to distract the Wens from Wei Wuxian and ends up getting captured and losing his golden core. So first off, in this world a golden core is a lot to lose, I won’t deny that. But, first off, Wei Wuxian is only in danger because after being whipped a lot, then strangled, then having to run after Jiang Cheng multiple times because he would rather go die at Lotus Pier than listen to either of his parents and escape, he still goes into town to get them something to eat because otherwise Jiang Cheng would rather lie on the ground and die. Fucking great sect leadership there, huh Jiang Cheng? But yes, Jiang Cheng sees the Wens, sees them notice Wei Wuxian, goes off to distract them and then gets captured and loses his golden core.
Now we’re getting to some of the debts that Jiang Cheng owes and refuses to pay back, because that’s definitely going to get him far in this world. Wei Wuxian in his panic and attempt to find Jiang Cheng, finds Wen Ning, who after some struggles manages to convince him that he can sneak in and get Jiang Cheng back out. In addition, he also retrieves the bodies of Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian. This is huge. Jiang Cheng now owes him both a life debt for again, saving his life at great cost to his own: Wen Ning is literally committing treason here, and also for restoring the lost honor of not being able to bury his parents properly. Wen Ning gives them a proper burial and later after the war he is able to lie them to rest in the Ancestors Hall so their spirits will be at peace and he will have fulfilled his fillial duties. By all means, the debt he owes Wen Ning in particular is so great that he should have taken in every Wen in those camps and sheltered them because it is as close as he will ever get to repaying that debt. And that’s just Wen Ning!
The next debt he owes and refuses to pay is to Wen Qing, a genius doctor and respected by Wen Ruohan, who uses the prestige and skills she has to protect both him and Wei Wuxian in at this point enemy territory when they are being actively searched for, being the new sect leader and head disciple of Yunmeng Jiang. She hides them and then later uses her skills to give him a new golden core so that he can go and fight back against his people, revitalizing his clan and eradicating hers. This is another debt that could only really be paid back by protecting her people if she came to him. He owes her literally his life, his power and his people.
The third debt he owes and refuses to pay is to Wei Wuxian, who more than overbalances the scales back in his favor by giving him his golden core. He pays his chance at immortality, his power, his strength, his cultivation, everything that he has to his name so that Jiang Cheng won’t starve himself to death over losing his core. In addition, he tells Jiang Cheng that this comes from a once in a lifetime favor from his mother’s master so even before when he didn’t know about the core, this is still a massive, massive debt, a limitless one time favor from an immortal that he uses Wei Wuxian’s chance to get and never actually thanks him. So at this point, his own golden core as a debt starts to seem a little hollow. Either way, it’s been repaid. An action you do in service of someone else is not a weapon you get to hold over their heads for multiple lives.
Moving on! The next debt he would like to claim is that Wei Wuxian apparently has no right to do things he does not approve of. Excuse me? Is he now a computer program that crashed? What the fuck Jiang Wanyin? Wei Wuxian has less rank than him, although Jiang Cheng is so high rank in this society that he only shares his rank with three other people and there’s no one above him so it would be very hard for him to not be, but he is still a person, with his own thoughts, wishes, dreams, hopes and beliefs. He is not an extension of your hand, to make your clan look good and stand behind you as a hammer to smash on people. Wen Qing goes to Wei Wuxian to ask for help for finding her brother, her people because they are literally being tortured to death. This is a debt that by all means, Jiang Cheng should be repaying. See that part where Wen Ning committed treason to help him and restore his family’s honor? See that part where Wen Qing literally gave him the ability to go back to war against her family? This is the point where anyone with honor would recognize this is the only thing I can do. I will throw myself on my sword if I must, but I must repay this debt to them. There is nothing less I can do. But Jiang Cheng has only the honor of a mangy cur and ignores this, and when Wei Wuxian goes to fulfill this debt, he tells him to stop. To him, his multiple life debts are an inconvience to shoving his nose so far up Jin Guangshan’s ass that he’s tasting what he had for dinner that day.
The next debt that he would like to claim is the death of his brother in law. This is a debt that Wei Wuxian would owe to specific people. This debt is to Jiang Yanli, Jin Guangshan and Jin Ling, one of whom is wanting to forgive it, one who is too small to decide at the time, and one who straight up does not give a fuck beyond advancing his power. Jiang Cheng is not one of these people. His sister is fine, she’s not his concern anymore, she’s a part of the Jin sect. The only reason why he died is that Jiang Cheng decided the best way to repay his debt to Wei Wuxian was to throw a temper tantrum and declare him an enemy to everyone, ripping out every support from under his feet. Regardless, Jiang Cheng is an asshole and does not get to claim this debt.
The final one of Wei Wuxian’s first life that he keeps hurling at him is the death of his sister...the death of his sister who chose to leap between Wei Wuxian and a sword. The death of his sister at a battle that broke out because Jiang Cheng has been with Jin Guangshan whipping the cultivation world into a frenzy against the Wens and Wei Wuxian because of power and jealousy. The battle that would have not happened if they’d left them alone. Jiang Cheng has been to the burial mounds. He has seen the farmers, he has seen the baby there. He has decided that rather than do anything to repay these various deaths, he will kill them on other people’s swords instead. Because he is also a coward and won’t pick fights he can’t win. In addition he likes to steal Yanli’s agency, she’s the one who chose to come, she’s the one who chose to get in the way and she doesn’t die with regrets. And she is not his debt to claim. Again, the one who actually gets to claim this death that Wei Wuxian is not responsible for is Jin Ling, who actually shapes up and decides that it doesn’t matter, he doesn’t blame Wei Wuxian for it. He forgives him his role in that space and moves the fuck on, unlike a certain sir stabby grape mcwhipinnoencts.
And then Wei Wuxian dies and any debts he may have still owed to Jiang Cheng, not that there were any, die with him. Jiang Cheng has no claim on him, he was not part of his sect, they were not brothers in any way, indeed Jiang Cheng called him his enemy. Even most people with far more real grudges at this point would let it go. Wei Wuxian is so dead that no one can find his soul, no matter how hard they look. He comes back to life and reaps the rewards of his actions, finding new allies, getting the chance to actually interact with Jin Ling and make his apologies, and in the end, settle down to a peaceful life with an adoring husband and nothing left to be repaid. If there is still a debt he owes, it is only to Mo Xuanyu, who gave up his entire cycle of life to let Wei Wuxian reincarnate early with his memories, a sacrifice he only asked for repayment in the death of his family. He may owe more still, but that is all Mo Xuanyu wanted from him in repayment for this great sacrifice. The cultivation world is in the wrong when they’re trying to persecute him again for the actions of his previous life, he owes them nothing anymore. The debts he carries towards Jin Ling are the ones he chooses to take on, feeling guilty that he grew up without his parents due to the world’s general actions and also no one else taking responsibility for how far things fell.
That is what Jiang Cheng finally realizes in the temple, crouched on the floor and sobbing like a spoiled child over the golden core sacrifice. Is that he is in the wrong and has been in the wrong the whole time. That there is nothing he can hold onto, no debt that Wei Wuxian ever owed him that he could demand to be paid. He built it all up in his head as he left his honor, his family and his dignity in the wake of his arrogance. And it’s a painful thing to realize, the consequences of your decisions, but all he can do is live with his own ruined reputation, his own loneliness and the fact that no one wants to be around him. He’s blacklisted by multiple matchmakers, his disciples are more like thugs, Wei Wuxian chooses every opportunity to get away from him and even Jin Ling likes him less and less over the course of the book, not forgetting that he seems to prefer Jin Guangyao to begin with as he actually talks to him sometimes and doesn’t hit him. Jiang Cheng refusing to pay his debts gives him exactly what a debt deserter deserves. No one has a reason to trust him. The one bit of positive character growth he does is giving up and not trying to reel him back in by telling him of the sacrifice. At this point, all it would be is just him trying to get another debt he cannot hold because it is long since repaid, never quite made up for what they gave him to make up for it, and worthless in the face of Wei Wuxian’s new life. Wei Wuxian owes him nothing and never has.
Also, just to tally up the relationship between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng on things given between the two of them, Jiang Cheng gives him: a lot of whinging on how unfair it is that Wei Wuxian is a prodigy, and a one time immediately regretted and held over his head sacrifice of a golden core. Whereas Wei Wuxian gives him: many lessons on how to be a kinder person that he ignores, the patience and tolerance of his stinkbug attitude, his love, his affection, his fucking golden core, his reputation, his blood, his livelihood, taking over his debts, trying to keep any of his actions from reflecting on the Jiangs even though if Jiang Cheng had repaid any of the debts he owed, there would have been no problems because if the Jin’s did decide to attack, Wei Wuxian would fight back and he can level battle fields on his own, his honor, his relationships, and even his life in the end, because if Wei Wuxian had ever turned on him like he claimed, he would have been a bloody smeared spot on the ground. And Jiang Cheng gobbles this all up and demands more with Wei Wuxian’s blood and tears dribbling from his mouth.
Would you give that much for someone who doesn’t treat you well? Would you find that a reasonable price to pay for someone who demeans you at every opportunity, who tells you you deserve your misfortunes and that no one likes you? Why are you surprised that in the end Wei Wuxian would rather walk away with people who care about him, why he gives up, leaves any opportunity for anything in Jiang Cheng’s hands. Wei Wuxian has given more than any person should for almost nothing. It is a sign of triumph and victory, of recognizing his own worth and value in the world and who he wants to be with, that he leaves, that he walks away with his head held high. He owes Jiang Cheng nothing, and Jiang Cheng will just have to fucking live with that.

cultural appropriation in ATLA (hinduism edition)
i’m sure there’s already a ton of posts about this, but whatever, i’m still making one idc.
ATLA’s cultural appropriation, everyone knows about it, the white people don’t speak about it, and the asian and indigenous people get ignored. we know the cycle. but i wanted to come here and highlight some of the most prominent examples of ATLA abusing hinduism, as i am kinda sorta hindu (i was raised in a hindu household, i go to chinmaya mission, that kinda shit). i might forget some things so keep that in mind.
this is gonna be divided into 3 main sections, since there are different ways that they disrespect hinduism that i don’t wanna lump together.
and i’d say i know a lot about hinduism but that doesn’t make me an expert, obviously, so if other hindus have anything to add and/or correct then please do !! and if anyone else wants to share how their cultures were appropriated then please do that as well !!
so let’s get started shall we?
appropriating hinduism
1) the avatar
we’ll start with the most obvious example: the avatar itself
i know that there are parts of the avatar mythos that are taken from other cultures as well but the idea of the avatar itself is primarily from hinduism.
basically in hinduism, the term dashavatara refers to the 10 reincarnations of lord vishnu (the god of preservation), with avatar(a) meaning form or incarnation in sanskrit, and das(a) meaning ten. it was said that whenever the world was out of balance, lord vishnu would come down to earth in a certain form to restore balance. Each reincarnation is considered a different life with a different story. the avatars of lord vishnu are often considered the saviors of the world.
so basically, the central idea of the show and the actual name of the show is largely based on hinduism.
2) chakras
many different indian religions have a concept of chakras (chakra meaning wheel or circle in sanskrit), but hinduism is the one that primarily preaches the system of seven chakras, the version used in ATLA.
chakras connect the physical body to the ‘subtle’ body (referring more to the spirit and the psyche) by connecting parts of the body to aspects of the mind. the idea is that through different forms of steady meditation you can manipulate the different chakras and allow the pure flow of energy through the body.
the whole idea of chakras on ATLA is that aang has to unblock them all to let the cosmic energy flow through him so that he can go into the avatar state at will. so yeah, pretty much that whole idea was taken from hinduism.
3) terminologies
these are just a few terms that were taken from hinduism. i’m pretty sure there are more that i can’t think of right now but yeah.
“agni” kai
i’ll be honest i don’t know where the ‘kai’ part is from, i don’t think it’s from hinduism but if it is well fuck me i guess.  ‘agni’ in hinduism is the god of fire, so the creators used it in ‘agni kai’, the name for a firebending duel.
“bumi”
this is in reference to the hindu word for ‘earth’, which is bhoomi. this is also in reference to our goddess of earth, bhoomi devi. also this doesn’t really bother me but i wonder if the creators knew that bhoomi is a name typically used for women (as are most hindi names ending in ‘i’/‘ee’).
in general, concepts like having multiple complex gods (the spirits) who are capable of good and evil and the reincarnation cycle are prominent in a lot of asian cultures, including (and arguably primarily) hinduism.
mocking hinduism
now we get into the mockery of hinduism in ATLA, because it is very much there.
1) whoever the fuck that baboon guy in the spirit world was
Tumblr media
now what the fuck was this.
i mean i wouldn’t say this is the most egregious example of them making fun of brown people but lord why did this even need to be there? this random guy from the spirit world has an indian accent ? and is fervently chanting ‘om’ for some reason, and it’s clearly meant to be seen as comical. also portraying brown people as monkeys....... really.
2) combustion man/sparky sparky boom man
when rewatching ATLA in 2019 i actually had no idea that this was a thing, because the last time i had watched it was as a kid and i didn’t finish it.
so lord was i in for a surprise when i saw...
Tumblr media
now... now what.
if you didn’t know, combustion man’s ‘third eye’ is designed to replicate the hindu god of destruction, lord shiva. right down to the vibhuti on his forehead (referring to the three line markings around the third eye).
Tumblr media
in hinduism, lord shiva’s third eye is used to reduce people to ashes, though as far as i can recall, not very frequently. the primary significance of the third eye is that it represents the ability of higher spiritual thought and higher consciousness.
the ATLA writers take the ACTUAL significance of the third eye, throw it out the window, and then take its destructive abilities to make a super duper cool and dangerous new firebending technique.
and if that wasn’t bad enough, the actual person who uses this technique, and is meant to emulate a GOD who is PRAISED, is a scary, burly, half metal man who is a villain and an assassin. not to mention the design of his facial hair replicates that super duper scary “terrorist” depiction of brown people, particularly of muslims, that white people are so thoroughly terrified of for no reason.
this is a parody of a god, and they portrayed him as this terrifying, maniacal fucking assassin who, along with p’li, the combustion bender from LOK, is constantly referred to as a “third-eyed freak”. i’ve made this analogy before and i’ll do it again, this is like making jesus into a hitman.
now onto my favorite example...
3) guru pathik
Tumblr media
ah, this motherfucker.
i don’t really have any problems with him as a character, i mean hell, must’ve taken a fuck ton of patience to handle aang’s “why would choose cosmic energy over katara” bullshit.
but we all know it, we see it plain as day, don’t even try to deny it.
“guru” literally just means teacher or guide, so i don’t really know why pathik needed to be referred to as “guru” so distinctively from aang’s other teachers and guides, but that’s just extremely trivial compared to all the other issues with this character.
first of all what is this character design? what is he even wearing? if they’re trying to replicate the clothes of swamis and priests and stuff this is already wrong, realized people don’t dress like this. and why the fuck does he have an indian accent? and why was this indian accent done by a non indian (brian george)?
once again, the poor but extremely heavy indian accent is clearly meant to be mocking, if it wasn’t, they wouldn’t’ve gone out of their way to get a non indian person to DO an indian accent, and instead they would’ve just gotten an actual indian person to play the role.
and oh yeah, the onion and banana juice. because hindus just eat weird shit right.
whether it’s actually weird or not, the show certainly portrays it as weird. and as far as i know no hindu actually fucking drinks onion and banana juice.
ironic because brown people can absolutely destroy white people in cooking. but i digress.
i know what you’re all waiting for. because the guru apparently didn’t have enough fun with guru pathik, so they just had to come back to him in book 3:
Tumblr media
where do i begin.
so this is obviously john o’bryan’s super funny and hilarious depiction of pathik as a hindu god.
usually when a god has multiple arms it’s to carry an array of things, from flowers to weapons to instruments, and one hand is typically free to bless devotees (ie. goddess durga and lord vishnu respectively):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but of course white people see this as weird and so they make fun of it, hence guru pathik having multiple arms just flailing about aimlessly (save for the two that are being used to carry the aforementioned onion and banana juice).
then there’s the whole light behind pathik’s head which is usually depicted in drawings of hindu gods to show that they are celestial.
also what the fuck is he holding? is that supposed to be a veena? because this is what a veena looks like:
Tumblr media
and i assume the reason this was added was to mock the design of goddess saraswathi, who carries a veena:
Tumblr media
but that right there in the picture of pathik looks more like a tambura than a veena.
Tumblr media
and it also just kinda looks like a banjo?
but i guess the animators just searched up “long indian instrument” and slapped it on there. actually no, that’s giving them too much credit, they probably didn’t search it up at all.
and then the actual scene is pathik singing crazily about chakras tasting good or something while playing the non-veena and it’s all supposed to be some funky crazy hallucination that aang is having due to sleep deprivation. just some crazy dream, just as crazy as talking appa and momo sparring with swords or tree-ozai coming to life.
our gurus and swamis and sadhus and generally realized people are very respected in hinduism, they’re people we look up to and honor very much. and our GODS are beings that we literally worship. and the writers just take both and make caricatures out of them for other white people to laugh at.
4) other shit
before we move to the next portion i just wanna mention there are also smaller backhanded jabs that i can’t really remember now, but one example was when zuko was all “we’ll be sure to remember that, guru goody goody”. or when a character would meditate and say “om” only when the meditation is supposed to be portrayed as comical or pointless. or in bitter work when sokka was rambling on about karma. small things like that. but moving on.
south asian representation, or lack thereof
now i finally get to the “losing” hinduism part. by this i mean the lack of actual representation there is of south asians (the region where hinduism is primarily practiced) despite the fact that hinduism plays such a big role in the show’s world design.
i think it’s safe to say that broadly the main cast consists of aang, katara, sokka, zuko, toph, azula, iroh, mai, ty lee, and suki.
a grand total of none of these characters are south asian. the writers don’t even attempt to add any south asian main characters.
there are characters with dark skin, like haru and jet, but a) they’re not confirmed to be south asian and don’t have any south asian features or south asian names, b) they’re side characters, so they don’t count as representation, and c) even if they were south asian and main characters, jet wouldn’t even count because he’s portrayed as a terrorist.
the ONLY truly south asian character we get is fucking guru pathik. so yeah. not representation.
i don’t get how the creators of this show rip off of hinduism (among many other south asian cultures they rip off of), mock indians, and then don’t even have the decency to HAVE a main character who is south asian.
i’ve never gotten a chance to compile all this, and this definitely isn’t all the creators have done, but i hope this was somewhat informative.

Summary: You grew up with Dream and Drista your whole life, but as you got older you soon realized your feelings towards Dream. (You are 19 in this and the reader is female for the plot)
MINORS DNI
Warnings: oral fixation, dumbification, choking
Word Count: 2234
Tumblr media
Sighing, Y/N looked at Drista then towards her tv, “Hey Drista?” Y/N asked, gaining Drista’s attention.”Yeah Y/N?” She asked, looking over at her best friend, “Does it bother you that your best friend is like 6 years older than you?” They asked, and Drista frowned once she heard the words. “No I like it a lot, I grew up with you and saw you as an older sister to me. You are always there for me, and you can even pick me up early from school so that’s a bonus.” Drista laughed as the last part left her mouth, which caused Y/N to softly punch her arm. “Can I ask you something and you not laugh at me?” Y/N asked, and Drista made a noise, shifting around so that they could face one another.
Y/N took in a deep breath, and looked at the younger girl, “I've known you and Dream all my life, but around the age of 17 I started to realize my feelings for Dream were a bit different.” She explained, stumbling over her words a bit scared of how Drista would react. “I know, I can tell by the way you look at him.” Drista explained, which made Y/N relax a bit, “Is it that obvious?” She asked worriedly, and Drista shrugged, “Maybe to me, but boys tend to be oblivious.” Once the words left her mouth, Drista gasped, “This is like that episode of Victorious!” She said excitedly, and Y/N furrowed her eyebrows throwing her a confused look. “You know the song BFB?”
Y/N slowly nodded her head, and Drista groaned, “You’re about as dumb as a pig.” She complained, “BFB means best friends brother.” She said, making exaggerated hand movements. “Oh yeah.” Y/N laughed, and softly pushed Drista, “I swear you are a nerd.” She said, causing the younger to giggle. Shaking her head, she got up, “You have school tomorrow, so you need to sleep. It’s two hours past your bedtime. Your mom would kill me for letting you stay awake this late.” Y/N said, and Drista pouted, “Fine.” She said giving up, “I’m going to go take a shower, and I’ll be back. I will try not to wake you if you are asleep by the time I get back.”
Nodding her head, Drista switched the movie over to Princess and the Frog, turning her lamp off on her bedside table. Y/N walked over and grabbed a pair of clothes from her closet as she practically lived there. Walking out, she mumbled a ‘goodnight’ to Drista as she turned around she slowly made her way to the bathroom. Putting her clothes in the bathroom, she walked downstairs into the kitchen to get a glass of water. “Thirsty?” A voice spoke up making Y/N yelp and jump. “Holy shit Dream. You scared me you dick head.” She mumbled shoving him, as he was leaning against the counter. “Why were you even standing in the dark you weirdo.” Y/N said, getting a glass cup, getting some water.
Dream watched her movements, and he shrugged to himself, “I have this kitchen memorized like the back of my hand. There’s no need to turn on the light.” He explained, and Y/N was now facing the sink, finishing up her glass of water. “I suppose that’s true.” She said nodding her head, pouring the rest of the remaining water out and put the glass in the sink. As she was about to turn around, she felt his body against her backside. Gulping she kept her eyes glued to the window where she could somewhat see their reflection. “Don’t you want somebody to love?” He whispered, moving Y/N hair over her shoulder as he wrapped his fingers around her throat.
Freezing, Y/N felt herself melt at the gesture, her eyes locked with Dream’s reflection on the window, the only light source being the light above the sink. “What makes you think that?” She asked, trying to keep her voice at a confident tone. Dream chuckled, leaving one hand around her throat, while his free hand reached up grabbing a handful of her hair pulling it back roughly so her head was leaning back. Wincing slightly, she bit her bottom lip not allowing herself to make a sound. “So you’re telling me..” He whispered, leaning down so his lips were right next to her ear.
“You don't want me to just fuck you senseless right here, right now?” He asked, and Y/N felt her entire face flush. “What are you saying right now?” She asked embarrassed, and Dream chuckled darkly, tightening his grip around her neck before he let go, and released the grip on her hair. “You’ll see with time princess.” He whispered ghosting his lips over her exposed neck, which caused a shiver to go down her spine. She finally let a whimper escape, “Dream..” She whispered and turned around to see he had left already. Soon it hit her like a brick, she blushed madly and her heart raced.
“What the fuck just happened..” She mumbled, steadying herself on the counter. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she moved her hand up to touch her neck, where his hand once was. Groaning, she shook her head, “Fuck you for messing with me.” She said, frustrated by confusion and touch deprivation. Walking up and into the bathroom, she started the shower and slowly stripped of her clothes. Getting inside the shower, her body relaxed as the heat consumed her. Letting out a content sigh, her eyes shot open when she heard someone enter the bathroom.
“Dri?” She asked, not daring to look out in case she would lock eyes with the green eyed boy she once saw in the kitchen. “Yeah?” The voice of Drista spoke up, letting out a sigh of relief she relaxed instantly, “What are you doing?” She asked and Drista cleared her throat, “I overheard Dream talking to who I assume was George and Sapnap. But he said that you and him had an interaction in the kitchen.” Drista said, and Y/N instantly tensed up at the reasoning. “What did you hear?” She asked, and Drista shrugged even though Y/N could not see her, “Something about you and him bumping into one another.” She said, and Y/N was thankful Dream didn’t go into detail with his friends.
“Well I am going to bed now.” Drista said, walking out, “Oh hey Dream.” Y/N heard as the door was being shut, Y/N couldn’t help but feel on edge. Her body was craving for Dream to touch her like that again, but she refused to believe it. Hearing the bathroom door open again, this time the culprit tried to make it as quiet as possible. “Having a nice shower princess?” His voice ricocheted off the walls of the shower, and into her ears. Shivering even though her body was under scalding hot water, she looked over his outline visible through the shower curtain. “What are you doing in here?” She asked, her voice wavering a bit from both excitement and fear.
“I also needed a shower, and I figured why not save water?” He said, alarmingly calm. As soon as the words registered through her brain, the shower curtain opened. This wasn’t the first time Dream and Y/N were close to having sex it almost happened when he was 20 and Y/N was 18. They had gotten into an argument which led to a heated makeout session, which they both agreed to forget. “Dream!” Y/N shrieked when she saw his body come into view. Her entire body froze, as her eyes just took in his bare body. “Like the view? It’s not the first time you’ve seen it. Or the second, or third.” He said, grabbing her hips pulling her towards him.
Yeah they’ve made out and saw each other naked multiple times, some accidental. But never did she think this would be happening, “I will not touch you, or anything without your permission princess.” He whispered into her ear, and Y/N felt her insides melt at his words. She wanted this, she has for quite a while. Dream has too. But he had patience, but he was no longer patient once he overheard their conversation about him earlier when he was on his way to the kitchen. “Please Dream.” Y/N spoke up, knocking Dream out of his trance, and a smirk found its way onto his features. “As you wish.”
Turning her around he shoved her onto the shower wall, and she leaned against it for support. “Your safe word is Dove.” He said slowly, as his hands trailed over her wet body. He moved over a bit, so the water could hit him as well. “I will then ask for your color. Green means keep going after a short break, and red means stop completely, okay?” He explained, and Y/N nodded her head. He slowly and teasingly trailed a hand up, and wrapped his hand back around her throat, “Will you be a good girl and keep quiet?” He said in her ear, and Y/N nodded her head, “Yes sir.” She said, and Dream growled at the name. “Good girl.” He said, and slowly he used his free hand to finger her so she could be prepared.
Moving the hand up, he tapped her lips as he inserted two fingers into her mouth, “Suck.” He ordered, and Y/N happily obliged since she loved to have things in her mouth she could chew or suck on. Sucking on his fingers, he slowly removed them from her mouth. Moving his hand back down, the other hand still wrapped around her throat. Slowly he inserted one finger, and she let out a quiet moan as she bit her lip. Slowly he started moving his finger in and out, loving the way her body reacted to it. She wasn’t a virgin, she had lost it when she was 17 with some random guy at a party. Picking up the pace, he slowly inserted another finger, and she bit her bottom lip to hold back the moan.
Picking up the pace of his fingers, he started to curl his fingers searching for the certain spot. Y/N accidentally let out a loud moan when he hit a spot that sent pleasure everywhere throughout her body. Dream smirked once he knew he had found it, “Quieter princess.” He warned, and she nodded her head leaning it against the wall. Thrusting his fingers quickly, making sure he repeatedly hit that spot, she found herself growing close to her climax. Dream noticed this by the way her legs started to shake, and he slowly pulled his fingers out. He licked them clean, and she whined at the loss of pleasure. Smirking, he grabbed his dick aligning it to her entrance.
Slowly he inserted the tip, and kept going until he bottomed out. Y/N winced from how big he was, “Fuck..” She whispered, in both pain and pleasure, “Please move.” She begged, and Dream knew she wouldn't be able to keep quiet by how she reacted when he entered her. Moving his free hand up, he forced his fingers into her mouth, instantly letting them go to the back of her throat. She gagged around his fingers, as he started pounding into her. Letting out choked moans on his fingers, she felt tears rolling down her face. It was mixed with the water from the shower head, on her left side and her tears. Dream picked up the pace, pulling her body back against him so he could see her fucked out face. Groaning once he saw the tears, and her crossed eyes, he moved his hand from her throat down to play with her clit.
Getting overwhelmed with the sensation she felt herself grow close again, Dream on the other hand didn’t care if she made noises now. He wanted to hear her, he quickly pulled his fingers out of her mouth and held her steady by her hip with his other hand. Y/N felt herself cum on his dick, and Dream felt her clench around him making him hiss at the feeling. He kept pounding into her, making her grow overstimulated. Screaming out, she grabbed his wrist that led to the hand that was toying with her clit. Digging her nails into his wrist, her eyes rolled back and she started babbling out incoherent words, “Is my princess fucked dumb? Is my dick so good that she can’t talk?” He cooed, feeling himself growing closer. Y/N nodded her head, moans and blabbering was the only thing she could let out. Pulling out quickly, he felt himself cum on her ass and some on her lower back. Groaning he leaned his head back and bit his bottom lip. The water was now getting cold, so he quickly cleaned her up and washed her hair, and body before he got out drying her off as she was clearly out of it.
Dressing her, he himself quickly got dressed carrying her to his room. Laying her down, he laid beside of her and wrapped an arm around her waist, kissing her neck softly. “Goodnight princess.” He whispered, and Y/N tiredly mumbled it back.

early morning pampering
Tumblr media
-Fatgum x reader-
he comes home bruised and sore and you help him relax with just a sweet smidgen of smut
I almost didn’t get this posted. My internet’s been on and off all day because of heavy wind and ran. I’m taking this opportunity and hopefully it posts!
The apartment door flung open, jerking you from the perfect dream. You jumped up startled. Taishiro was always quiet when he came home. He hated waking you. So either that wasn’t Tai or he was seriously exhausted after his patrol… or he was drunk but that had less than a five percent probability.
You tiptoed out of the bedroom just in case it was some intruder. The worries were placated once you spotted his silhouette collapsed on the couch.
Although distress immediately took its place. His frame was skinny. His panting was heavy. You flicked a dim light on, letting you see the hard cast enveloping his right arm. Bruises stuck out from it. He didn’t even open his eyes when you kneeled beside him or when you gently rubbed his chest.
“Tai, honey, are you alright?”
He groaned but smiled a forced and twitchy smile. “I’m okay. Just sore.”
“What happened?”
“A fight. It’s no biggie.”
It was four in the morning- seven hours after he usually got home. His eyes were dark, struggling to stay open and focused. “Do you need anything?”
“Not from you, baby. Go back to sleep.” He held his right side as he pushed up. His orange sweatshirt hung unzipped, showing off a large, purple bruise. “I’m gonna take a quick shower before goin’ to bed.”
“Why don’t I run you a hot bath? Your muscles could use it.”
“No. I want you to get enough rest.” “I won’t, knowing you’re in pain.” You stood and kissed his forehead. Sweat caked a tiny layer across his skin. It didn’t stop you from kissing him again. “I’ll start the bath. Give me two minutes and it’ll be ready.” You kissed him once more before heading to the bathroom.
The water quickly heated. While the tub filled, you searched under the sink for the new soap you bought. The store worker promised it was the best one they had. It contained nourishing candlenut and moringa oils that soothed the skin. You were saving it for yourself on some pampering day but you’d let Tai use it first. He certainly deserved it.
Crinkling got your attention. He nakedly trudged into the room. A plastic bag wrapped his cast, duct-taped tightly closed. Multiple bruises littered his body. You gasped as you looked down. Both his knees were badly swollen.
“Oh, honey…”
“I’m alright,” he assured.
“You don’t look like it.” You stood and steadied his waist while he stepped into the tub. The casted-arm rested on the tub’s wall. He groaned at the heat, reclining against the back. You felt his forehead and asked, “Did the doctors clear you to leave?”
“Told them I was fine.”
“If you needed to stay, you should have.”
“I’m really alright. Besides, I already feel better next to you.” He leaned up to kiss you only to recoil, grunting, holding his side.
“You're sweet, but I can’t heal bruises, you know?” You learned forward to kiss him instead. At least that got him to genuinely smile.
“But you can get in with me.”
“This is about getting you cleaned and relaxed.”
“Then clean me in the tub with me.”
“Fine,” you gave in to the stupidly, lovable grin. “Scoot forward. And be careful.”
He did. You grabbed the brand-new soap, dropped your pajamas, and slid behind him, thankful you agreed because the hot water was incredibly calming. Blotches of discolored skin scattered his back. Tense muscles twinged beneath your lips as you kissed his shoulders and neck.
He moaned and hissed at the soap. You lathered it along his back until a thick layer of suds and bubbles coated it. The gentle smell washed the sweat away. To make sure his skin got spotless, you kneaded his muscles, giggling at his satisfied moaning.
“God, baby, you’re so fucking good at this.”
“I’m no professional,” you chuckled.
After rinsing, you worked on his shoulders and free arm, respectful of bruised and swollen areas. More and more muscles unknotted under your fingers. Stiff joints released. Moans lowered the further you massaged.
You reclined against the tub’s wall. His weight settled on you with a long hum. Kissing his neck, you breathed, “I love you.”
The lathering continued when your hands smoothed around to his broad, marked chest. Your fingers coasted light. Tai exhaled your name. His sounds warmed to something softer, stimulated.
You kissed his ear, shifting slightly to the side, and traced past his happy trail, freely fondling him. You commented as you nipped his jaw, “The fight’s been over for a while for you to still have an adrenaline boner.”
“I don’t always have control of it.”
You squeezed and pumped him, licking behind his ear. “You’re rock hard.”
His head dropped back to your shoulder. A healthy, handsome flush bloomed on his cheeks. Your wrist moved eager and sturdy. His breath hiked.
“I love you so much.” You kissed and nipped his entire, open, sensitive, heightened neck. You felt his body clench, straining his muscles all over again. “Relax, honey. Just let yourself feel it.”
His panting increased. Fingers dug into your calf.
You coddled him through the arousal, through the pleasure and the oncoming orgasm, “You deserve it, baby. You’ve done enough for today. So let yourself relax. Just let yourself cum.”
With a final, weak groan, he released into the bathwater. Semen disappeared into bubbles. The blush slowly dulled as he slumped. And he made no move to get up. Letting him calm, you swept the soap along his chest and arms, kissing the heated and finally relaxed muscles.
“I love you too,” he mumbled after a few minutes' rest.
“I love you,” you whispered against his temple. Cupping water in your hands, you rinsed him off, adding numerous kisses to your pampering. “Can you stand? You only have to get to the bed.”
“Yeah. I can do that.”
You stood before he did and helped him as much as you could considering his size. He hobbled to the bedroom while you hurriedly drained the tub and dried the floor.
When everything was all set, you picked the fluffiest towel, grabbed ice, and joined him. He laid sprawled out on the covers, dripping wet. You laughed, “Feel any better?”
The rumbling reply was indiscernible.
“I’ll be optimistic and take that as a yes.” You delicately patted his chest and legs dry. “I brought some ice. Lift your leg for me.” Seeing his wince of pain, you helped raise his thigh, then slipped a pillow under it. You made sure the ice was securely covered and placed it on him. “Is this alright?”
“‘T’s great,” he slurred.
You didn’t bother getting dressed; you just cuddled close to him, finding an unbruised area to rest your head. Lips pressed to it, sighing his many thanks.
“You don’t need to thank me, Tai.” You kissed from his chest to his jaw. “I love you. And I just want you to get some rest. Okay?”
He agreed with another kiss. His head fell to the pillows. By his open mouth and almost instantly deepened breathing, you could say he did just that.

Ghost Of You 2/2
Pairing: Ghost! Luke Patterson x Fem Reader
Summary: Luke, Reggie and Alex have to assimilate their loss. For Luke of his girlfriend, and for the others of their best friend after suddenly learning that she didn’t have the future they imagined, and instead died 23 years ago.
Thank you to @cookiebuba for being the head of the entire idea and trusting me with it, and to Emy for almost holding my hand to force me to write🤣💜
PART 1 HERE
Tumblr media
“It can’t be.”
“Luke, I-”
"No, Julie. You are not telling me that the woman of my life, the purest person who has ever stepped on this world, not only lost her partner and her best friends, but was only able to live her life for two more years and then ended in a horrible accident. It's as if life wanted to torture her before taking her too.”
“Love of ?... Zeppelin shirt you wore when you ran away. Of course.”
“I- It can’t be true, please tell me it’s not true, Julie.”
“Luke... she loved you so much.”
He falls on the floor. The impact is strong, as if his legs have stopped working.
"I know." He whispers slowly, his gaze empty as multiple tears fall from his eyes.
The rest of the gang threw themselves to the ground around him and hugged him with all their might, trying to unite his broken pieces without any success. Alex and Reggie each crying silently over the loss of their sweet friend.
“What day did she pass away? Alex whispers.
"Let me search, one moment." Julie gets up quickly and checks on her laptop to find a little note about the singer's death.
"The rising singer Y/N Y/L who had just released the biggest hit of her career passed away this afternoon in a terrible car accident after leaving the cemetery where her late boyfriend, Luke Patterson, was buried. Y/L was there in commemoration of the 2 years of the loss of the aspiring musician, who died from a sudden tragic intoxication along with the rest of his band. Something to rescue from this tragedy is that at least she's already reunited with her eternal love. May both rest in peace.”
“This can’t be. My Y/N can’t be gone. Not her, not like that.” Luke is still in denial, unable to believe that his little girl suffered such a terrible ending.
“Maybe she’s not. There's still a chance that she's also a ghost.”
“Yeah, Julie’s right. We need to look out for her, we can't write her off without trying to find her first.” Reggie's eyes sparkle with hope, rushing to cover Alex's mouth in case he says anything other than motivating.
Luke takes his flannel and disappears immediately. Both Reggie and Alex stare sadly at Julie who simply whispers a "go, he needs you." They nod and teleport to their friend.
As expected, Luke is in front of the window of an old music store. He met his girlfriend here so many years ago, the day his parents agreed to buy him his first guitar.
The store had a small section where customers could try out some instruments and she was playing the guitar they had there and singing for the small audience. It seemed like it was something she did often because both the workers and certain customers seemed familiar with the girl.
Luke was captivated by her from the first moment. The energy and passion that radiated from her in every move was unreal. He had never seen anyone happier, much less singing with a borrowed guitar from a small downtown store.
The store is completely abandoned, so without saying anything he comes in and walks towards the small stage.
The ghosts of two 12-year-old kids singing together into the microphone invades his memory. If they only knew.
"Do you remember what was the first thing she said to you?" Reggie and Alex sit next to him on the floor, looking straight at the very small stage. They both try to imagine what their friends must have looked like singing here together the first time. Luke totally invading little Y/N's presentation trying to captivate her with his 0% music experience and 100% of enthusiasm.
Luke laughs through tears. "You have the voice of a country singer."
Alex starts crying when he imagines her. He met her just a few weeks later so he knows exactly how she must have looked and sound.
Reggie smiles while shedding a tear, remembering all those afternoons Y/N convinced Luke to join them in their country sessions. He knows that's why Luke hasn't wanted to know anything about country or his songs since they got back. They remind him of his sweet girl.
“I was so offended. I still didn't know anything about music but I had already decided that I would be a rocker. If I hadn't already been so dazzled by her I would have left without looking back.”
“And what did you answer to defend your honor?”
"You think so?" The three of them start laughing while still crying. A heartbreaking mix of pain comes from their chests.
“C’mon guys, next stop.”
The three of them were teletransporting around the city during the day without any success. Luke's desperation increasing for every place the songwriter wasn't.
At night the three decide to go back to the studio. Luke is heartbroken, bloated after crying all day, eyes red and sore, and whatever it was that was driving him to continue, off.
His friends couldn't do much for him either because each was living the loss in their own way, concentrating on living their own pain until they could process it.
Julie wraps them in blankets on the couch and tries to fill them with love, making sure to hug Luke tightly, who seems about to fall apart.
“Does anyone want to talk about her? Maybe it could make you feel better.”
“She was my entire soul, the words and melody in each of my songs. I just, I love her more than anything in this world. I would give anything for her. My guitar, my voice, my songs, whatever it took for us to be together. I know it doesn't seem like it at this point, but we belong together.”
“We know you do, man.”
“I didn't tell you but I dream about her almost every night since we got back. It is always the same dream. She is in bed, leaving my side intact. She's wearing one of my shirts and hugging my favorite one while sobbing. She falls asleep listening to the ballad I wrote for her soaked in tears and no matter how hard I try to wake her up, I can't get her to see or hear me. I can’t get her. After a few minutes she gets up still asleep and begins to dance as we did so many times, but alone. Then she stops and starts crying again inconsolably. And that's when I wake up."
"I'm so sorry, Luke. She deserved so much more." Reggie walks over to hug him, his head resting on his arm while he sobs.
“We couldn't even say goodbye to her.” Alex cries, his eyes completely red.
“We already know that she visited your graves, perhaps we could do the same, dedicate a few words to her.” Julie offers in an attempt to help them find some peace.
Luke looks devastated, but he nods his head as tears continue to fall from his face, the ring that his girlfriend gave him going in and out of his finger. Alex hugs Julie while she strokes his hair in an effort to calm him down and Reggie runs up to get a notebook and pencil to start planning what to say to his best friend tomorrow.
The three of them hang around all night, crying, writing, hugging, remembering the spark of Sunset Curve. In the morning before going to visit her, they realize is exactly the 25th anniversary of that tragic night that changed the lives of the four forever. Luke nearly punches a hole in the wall upon hearing the sad coincidence.
Her grave is right next to Luke's, who has never been here before and can't help but feel a bit anxious.
“Don’t worry, I’ll start.” Reggie tells the guitarist as he takes a step forward, a small smile on his lips.
"Hello, princess. Long time, huh? I'm Reggie, by the way. In case you don't recognize me from the slight change in my hair. I am trying a little more gel, I want something more elegant and classic. What do you think? Yes, I also thought you would like it.” Julie and Alex smile at hearing him talk to her as natural as possible.
“I tried very hard to think of what to say, because if there is anyone who deserves my best words, it is you. And three things came to mind that I want to share with you.
First, the color yellow.
Yellow like the guitar you were saving for two years to buy. You did everything. You were a babysitter, you walked dogs, you worked in the school library, you sang with your old acoustic guitar in every cafe, basically everything that will let you win some money.
And the day before you could finally go buy it, my dad broke my bass in a moment of anger in one of his typical fights with mom that got really out of hand. At least he didn’t hurt her, huh? But when you're a kid you don't even think about the possibility that something like that could happen, you just focus on the broken instrument in your hand. I ran out and ended up on the stairs of your house with my face soaked and one of the broken pieces in my hand.
You hugged me and promised that everything would be fine. That I was always going to have you four and that we would always be family. You assured me that good things happen to good people. And I believed you, you know? You were always right. But now that I'm here, that I know you didn't have the happy ending you deserved, I'm honestly not so sure anymore.”
Luke and Alex start crying again, each hugging Reggie from one side. Reg tries with all his might to continue through the tears, while Julie looks at them with a broken heart.
“The next day when I came back from school a new bass was on my bed. You talked to Mom so she could take the credit for the gift, but coincidentally was exactly the bass that I fell in love with a year earlier when we went to check if your beloved yellow guitar hadn't dropped in price. Luke revealed to me a few months later that you had to borrow money from your mom in order to complete the exact money for that one.
How generous do you have to be in order to do something like that? how noble? How loving? How selfless? You were always more than I deserved. I was supposed to be like an older brother for you, but it was always you who took care of me. I have Julie and Carlos, and I'm trying to be with them as you were with me. I had the best step sister in the world to teach me, and I hope I can do you justice.” Julie starts crying too after hearing his words, and resists the urge to going to hug him because she knows that they need their space to let go all the suffering that they carry.
“Second, my leather jacket.
When we started the band we made a 100% commitment to being rockstars. And a very important part is the look. You accompanied me on a walk around the city looking for the right outfit to literally go sing to the people who were lining up in front of the clubs.
Anyone could have left me alone on that for multiple reasons, not even these two wanted to face the trouble. But you followed me without thinking twice.
The afternoon was over and we still haven't found anything. Our feet couldn't take it anymore and we had 10 minutes to run to the club. But we stopped by a little store that had a black leather jacket in the window and you said, Reg, this is it.
You excitedly took me by the hand and when I tried it on, the rest was history.
Then I tried to get the whole band to use them but these two boys without fashion sense didn’t want to. You, on the other hand, supported me and wore your leather jacket during all the Sunset Curve performances we had, convincing me that they were our good luck charms and that if we both used them everything would be amazing. Oh god, I miss you so much.
And third, a star.
I thought you were a star when I heard you sing for the first time.
I thought you were a star when you and Luke managed to write the whole Sunset Curve album in 2 months.
I thought you were a star when you bought me my bass, when you made Alex feel better after one of his strongest attacks, when you filled Luke with love and support when he needed it the most.
And I believe it now that I know you are gone.
If you are in heaven, you have to be a star. And not just a star, the brightest star of all. I promise to look for your light every night to wish you sweet dreams. I will also sing you some country since you were the only one who appreciated my incredible sound, I hope it makes you smile.”
“That was beautiful, Reggie. I’m sure she loved it.” Julie finally reaches out to hug him as Alex prepares to be next.
“Hey. I don’t even know where to start.
I- I guess I should start saying I could never pay you all the times you were there to pick me up when I needed someone the most. I went back to dancing a little again. It's not the same without you, but somehow it makes me feel you close. I also met someone, oh Y/N, he’s so special, I'm sure you would have loved him and I would have loved the opportunity to introduce him to you. You were always there.
You were there to support me when I decided to learn drums to cope with my anxiety. You sang the song I was practicing over and over to keep me company and reassure me that what I was doing sounded good.
You were there to support me when I told you I like to dance. We spent hours choreographing different iconic songs and just laughing and enjoying creating more memories together.
Not shocking at this point but you were also there for me when I confessed to my parents I’m gay and you gave me strength all those times that I wanted to fall because they no longer saw me the same way.
You were always my safe place. And I regret with all my heart that I couldn’t be yours.”
Alex breaks down. She kept them on their feet during her darkest days and they paid her off by causing her the most horrible pain imaginable. Julie and Reggie surround her in their arms while sobbing. The last one of the band standing moves closer to the grave and drops to his knees.
“I’m so sorry, my love. I’m so fucking sorry.” Luke tries to be strong, but tears start falling like waterfalls from his eyes, his face red in a mixture of despair, sadness and anger.
“I will never forgive myself for leaving you alone. Baby, I've been without you for only 1 month and I’m going crazy, even with the boys and Julie by my side. I don't even want to imagine what you must have been through those two years. My soul is shattered just thinking about it.
At first when we returned I imagined you were happy after having fulfilled all our plans with someone else. And I thought nothing could hurt me more than that, but obviously I was wrong. Because although it hurt me that I couldn’t be the one who was with you, thinking that you had been happy gave me the peace to be able to continue. Now that I know that life took away your opportunity, the only thing I feel is anger.
Anger towards me, anger towards destiny. Anger at not being able to be together even after death. Since we discovered where you are, I have only been able to think of cross over and finally be with you again.
Or at least go back to the night before everything turned into a nightmare. Fall asleep with you in my arms one more time.
I swear I even miss your snoring and you biting my cheek after your goodnight kiss, as you would say, in a gesture of love.”
Tumblr media
“Hello again, my love.
I can't believe 25 years have passed. First of all, I want you to know that I'm okay. Or well, the equivalent for ghosts that are destined to haunt the earth alone for all eternity. I made a friend for several years, Rose. I told you about her, remember? I know you guys would have been good friends, she was a ridiculously talented musician. Since she died I no longer had the strength to go back to the studio, but for a long time I enjoyed her company in one of my favorite places. She promised to tell you that I'm waiting for you. I will wait whatever time is necessary, okay? I love you so much, baby.
You three are always on my mind, and I think I can finally accept that the pain is just never going to go away. But lately something super strange has happened to me, let me tell you.
Throughout these years, in the darkest days, I see you. But, they were always memories.
A month ago, I started to see you having other kinds of experiences and I honestly don't know how to feel about it. Am I going that crazy? I selfishly hoped that you too were ghosts for so many years. I looked for you 5, 10, 15, 20 years. And just as I decide to give up, my head imagines you all over the city.
The first time I saw you singing Reggie's jam on the beach. You guys looked so happy, love. It filled my heart with peace for a few seconds, knowing that somewhere up there you are enjoying life singing together all day.
Then I saw my beloved Alex with a cute boy. My heart melted, I can’t even explain how much I wanted to run to hug him and gossip about it.
Baby, he looked so peaceful. I always wanted that for Alex. I didn't know whether to be happy or cry because that didn’t actually happen, so I did both.
The penultimate time was a few nights ago when I was walking in front of the Orpheum and I heard your voices. How wicked my mind is, right? A knife to the heart would hurt less.
And now, I can't even get close to your grave because I'm imagining you all again.”
Y/N doesn't know what to do, if she gets close enough will they disappear? What If they don’t? Will she bear to see them up close? She has been dancing with their ghosts in her dreams for so many years, but It’s not the same as doing it when she is fully awake.
She is about to run out of there in fear when the silhouette of a fourth person catches her attention. She doesn't know why, but it immediately reminds her of Rose. Could it be that she is imagining her friend too?
Curiosity is stronger than fear, like all those times when she got into trouble with her boys. She walks carefully towards her grave which is next to her beloved Luke.
“I swear I even miss your snoring and you biting my cheek after your goodnight kiss as you would say, in a gesture of love.”
“I don't freaking snore, I told you a million times already... and now I'm talking with my imagination, great.”
The band turns in shock towards the fifth voice. That's when she can see the girl's face and realize who she is.
“Julie? But, how?”
“Y/N?” Alex whispers on the verge of passing out.
She starts to panic, just before the boys can do something about it, a new person appears behind her.
“Hey, you took a long time." She turns around and jumps into the arms of who has become her only friend in recent years.
“Phoenix, thank god.” Her body continues to shake but she clings tightly to her friend while crying uncontrollably.
To say the ghosts are confused would be an understatement. And apart from that, the guitarist is having many conflicts with the jealousy that he is feeling at the moment. They haven't seen each other in 25 years and when they finally do, she runs into someone else's arms and clings to him like her life depends on it.
What does that mean for them? Is it too late?
“Beautiful, what's wrong? Who are they? Oh, wait. You guys were at the club a few weeks ago, you're friends with Willie, right?”
Luke feels like dying all over again hearing him call her that. She continues to shake but finally lets go.
“What? You can see them?”
“Shouldn’t I?” He looks at her skeptical and shifts his eyes from her to the ghosts.
“I- Oh my god. I'm going to pass out.“
“Baby, look at me.” Luke’s voice is a mix between a plea and a demand. The terror of knowing that perhaps he has already lost her without having had the opportunity to fight for her clouds his judgment and tears begin to fall from his face again.
25 years. 25 years fighting not to forget his voice. 25 years having him only in dreams, in memories, in melodies. 25 years waiting for him. 25 years on her own.
She turns slowly to meet those honey-green eyes she craved for so long to see, a painful smile from Luke makes her smile through tears.
She carefully lifts her right hand and gently draws it to his cheek, almost exploding at the feel of it.
“You came back. Oh my, It’s really you.” She jumps to the guitarist, entwining her legs at his hips, her arms tangled with all her strength around him, her head buried in his neck inhaling his scent. Tears coming out as if to drown her, all the pain and suffering that she faced all these years finally leaving her body.
Luke wraps her tightly in his arms, still unable to process what’s happening.
Alex and Reggie begin to smile without fully assimilating what is happening, while Julie begins to jump of joy.
“Babygirl, I'm sorry to ruin the moment but I have to rush to the club. Will you be okay here?"
“She's always safe with me." The guitarist growls, and Y/N starts laughing when she hears it.
"The jealous, protective baby in the beanie is right, don't worry Nix. I’ll go and find you later."
Phoenix nods with a smile and disappears. Julie begins to scold Luke while Reggie and Alex approach to touch the cheek of their best friend, still in the arms of the guitarist who does not seem to have any intention of letting go.
“We should go home to catch up. Reggie and I will accompany Julie, it seems that you two should speak alone first." Luke doesn't think twice and disappears with her in his arms.
“Good things happen to good people.” Reggie whispers as he hugs his friends and they start walking home.
Luke and Y/N reappear in the studio and they are both shocked for a few seconds. The girl trembles again in fear of dreaming.
“Hey, come here baby. Shh, I’m here, I promise.”
“Don’t leave me ever again, please.” He can see that it is very difficult for her to understand that is really happening, and to think that she lived without him not 2 but 25 years makes him want to cry again.
“I won’t. I promise, beautiful. Never again.” Luke wraps her in his arms, but she lifts her head from his chest to push her lips against his. The kiss is urgent, but they both instantly recognize each other and fit in perfectly. Luke picks her up again and gently lays her down on the couch, both desperate to feel the other, to recognize every inch.
“I missed you so much baby, I love you more than anything.” Luke whispers between kisses, not willing to have her an inch away from him.
“I love you my love. I love you, I love you, I love you.” She says while kissing the love of her life, happy for the first time in 25 years.
Before things get to escalate, the rest of the band shows up in the studio followed by Julie who clearly walks through the door.
"Let go of her man, it's our turn!" Y/N gets up quickly from the sofa while her boyfriend complains and she throws herself at both of them who pick her up as best they can and spin her in the air.
They put her down and Julie and her stare each other, both raise their arms and meet in a quick but sweet hug.
“You said my name back there, how?” The question that she has stuck since she met her finally coming to light.
“I met your mom many years ago when I came to visit the studio and realized that she could see me. We were friends for many years and I had the opportunity to see you grow up, but I always made sure to be upstairs when you came in in case you could see me too.”
“Well, now I understand how Carlos felt when he found out that we lived with ghosts. And It sounds like mom watches over us both from heaven.”
“Yeah, I’m sure she does.” Both girls smile and hug each other once more.
Tumblr media
“I can't believe I endured 25 years without having those beautiful arms around me.” She whispers as they both lie on the couch, Luke has her completely cornered in his arms.
“I’m so sorry, baby. It breaks my heart that you have suffered that much for so many years.”
“It was not your fault. You lost as much as I did that night. Besides, I always knew that you would find me sooner or later. We belong together.”
“We do. I, I k-know we have way more to talk about but, who was the dude from the cementery?”
The insecurity in his voice is evident and Y/N can't help but smile. His emotions are complex, real, and nothing can make her happier than that.
“I’ll tell you all about my friend later, okay? For now... dance with me? I want to dance with the real deal.” He smiles and they both stand up, hugging each other as they slowly move through the studio as they did many times before life separated them.
The Luke in her arms is her Luke, the same one she has been waiting for so many years, finally back in her arms. And just as she thought when she lived, she will dance with his ghost for all eternity.

Fallout new vegas companions taking the courier's place in lonesome road (+ cut companions if that's cool with u) (thanks!!)
The problem with trying to adapt Lonesome Road to another character's experience is that so much of its story hinges on the courier's missing past and the former Frumentarius' struggle to make them understand what happened, why it caused a shockwave across multiple lives, locations and generations, and whether to avenge or let go of the harm that was unknowingly done to the Divide. So if you bring the companions into the mix instead of Courier Six, you either have a long-running story of mistaken identity (a hilarious concept, Ulysses being absolutely positive that the companion is the one who wrecked his dream home while they have no idea who this angry, verbose man is), or a drastically different history for the companions themselves. I say let's give that second option a shot, it seems fun and headcanon-y.
Arcade Gannon: While I don't think Arcade would be directly responsible for the destruction of the Divide, I think he would pale at hearing Ulysses' message searching for Enclave agents and would set out to confront the angry courier on behalf of his hidden family. The Enclave remnants are already hunted by the NCR and the Brotherhood of Steel, and the last thing they need is to be chased out of yet another home over something they didn't personally do. He'd accept ED-E's help wholeheartedly and consider turning back every time he ran into marked men or tunnelers, but his own resolve to save his loved ones would urge him to persevere. I think his determination would intrigue Ulysses, enough to engage the young research scientist in conversation if he arrived at the end of the road in one piece, and the courier might even let go of his vendetta if Arcade revealed that he was doing this out of the goodness of his heart rather than a sense of duty. Arcade would cancel the nuke launch, but would seriously consider blowing up the Legion.
Craig Boone: We know the NCR and Legion were fighting over the Divide before the ICBMs leveled the area. But what if that was by design, rather than by accident? Maybe Boone has more skeletons in his closet than just Bitter Springs, and he was part of a strike team that used old Enclave technology to surprise the Legion forces and seal off an access route, a decision based on math and made by men who had never met the people of Hopeville and Ashton that they sentenced to death. It's yet another weight on the sniper's conscience, and yet another debt he feels obligated to pay, so when Ulysses' call goes out, he answers. The usual dangers of the Divide wouldn't slow him down, but the turbulent weather would irritate him to no end. Upon arrival at the temple, Boone wouldn't mince words because he already knows he's guilty of the charge and he knows Ulysses used to walk for the Legion. If he survived the encounter, Boone would take the opportunity to rain the same destruction down on Caesar's troops.
Lily Bowen: There are about 119 years of Lily's life as a super mutant that are unaccounted-for, and we know she suffers from schizophrenia like many other nightkin. Perhaps it was Lily who discovered the Enclave package and unwittingly left it in the home of America's missiles: Perhaps it was Leo. I'm inclined to think it was Leo, who was probably searching for a cache of Stealth Boys in the old military installations across the desert, and who simply didn't care when a new hole in the earth opened up behind him. Lily, on the other hand, cares deeply, and would set out after Ulysses in the interest of making amends where she could. More so than any other companion, I think Lily would be disturbed by the tunnelers and would go out of her way to crush them wherever they popped up. The marked men would earn her sympathy and she would do her best to knock them out without killing them. After doing the same to Ulysses, Lily would cancel the launch and weep over the subsequent loss of ED-E. She would likely bring the little eyebot back to the Mojave and search for a way to fix it.
Raul Alfonso Tejada: We already know that Raul goes to extreme lengths to avenge the people he cares about, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to mix his backstory into the story of the Divide. Following the murder of Claudia in Tucson/Two Sun, Raul chased Dirty Dave and his brothers across Arizona and into the town of Ashton before killing them. Unbeknownst to him, Dirty Dave had a package with him that could speak to the nuclear missile silos hidden in the Divide, and the earth crumbled behind the vaquero as he made his way back home. Though he'd heard of the devastation, Raul didn't put two and two together until Ulysses sent out his summons, and because he didn't have anything planned that week, the old mechanic decided to answer the call. He would put up with Ulysses' messages like a good sport until he encountered the man in the temple, where he would refuse to fight until the two talked things out like civil people. I think Ulysses would be surprised at the revelation that the ghoul he had cast as a villain was following his own quest for vengeance and unaware of the package, and would come away somewhat amused by the situation. They would most likely team up to fight off the marked men, and Raul would cancel the launch and take a wrench to the machines to prevent any more "misunderstandings."
Rose of Sharon Cassidy: Let's say one of Cass' caravans delivered a package back in the day. Let's say that package accidentally buried the caravan crew and an entire community along with it. Let's say Cass knows, and that's one of the reasons she drinks. While Courier Six walks the Divide out of curiosity about their missing past, I think Cass would do it as a form of penance in and of itself, with a little desire for self-destruction thrown into the mix. The journey would start out as a bender fueled by self-loathing and the fanciful notion of giving her missing caravan a proper funeral, and by the time Cass runs out of whiskey she's already halfway through the Cave of the Abaddon and punching holes through the tunnelers with her shotgun. She would largely ignore Ulysses' cryptic messages and holotapes, but she'd grow fond of the little eyebot that took a shine to her and would tear after it once the mysterious courier repossessed it. Following the final battle, Cass would cancel the launch, but only at the very last second, just to revel in the fleeting feeling of control.
Veronica Santangelo: I just can't see Veronica knowingly or unknowingly waking up a nuclear arsenal with a careless application of tech, but I can totally see her stumbling upon the aftermath of something her old mentor is responsible for. Father Elijah already has a tenuous grasp on the consequences of his own actions, and we know that the prototype tech that controls the Divide's weather is a Big MT project. Maybe Elijah paid Hopeville a visit to check it out and took his investigation a little too far when he discovered the nukes. This would explain Ulysses' directions to the old man to find the Sierra Madre, sealing his doom inside the casino. But where does that leave Ulysses? Along comes Veronica, following her mentor's trail of destruction, and the courier can't help but guide her along the path, show her the meaning of the wreckage and the danger of pre-war technology when left to the discretion of those with old-world values, like the Brotherhood. Along that line, I think Ulysses would try to test her like he does Courier Six, and would schedule a launch to see what she does. Veronica would cancel the launch and resolve to never tell her brothers and sisters in Steel about the secrets of the Divide. She might dump some water on the consoles for good measure. More importantly, I think she might finally realize that the unchanging family she clings to can only die out, or go down the same path that Elijah did.
ED-E: Given that ED-E is a robot, I think Ulysses would be hell-bent on finding whoever sent the little guy rather than consider that the eyebot saw a package with Enclave markings on it, picked it up of its own accord, and deposited it wherever it next encountered old American symbols. Through its communication with the other eyebots in the Divide, I think ED-E would get the picture about the courier's quest for the responsible party and play dumb for as long as possible. The other ED-E would help conceal the mistake to save its new friend, but Ulysses isn't stupid and would eventually figure it out. But how do you effectively punish a robot? Maybe he would set the nukes to target the Divide again, to send any remaining eyebots to the scrapyard for good, but it's a long shot. If he did, ED-E would cancel the launch, but would join its override system capabilities to its counterpart's and use the combined decryption power to ensure that both eyebots make it through the ordeal unharmed.
Rex: This good boy would never even consider entering the Divide. Seriously, what dog in their right mind would go in there? What cyberdog? No thank you. Still, the idea of a dog being responsible for the nukes and Ulysses continuing to hold a grudge is beyond funny. Maybe Rex was part of a mission for the Legion when he still belonged to Caesar, part of the group that leveled the Divide on behalf of the Bull. Maybe that's why Antony says he was "lost in battle," and maybe he's the only surviving member of that squad. I don't see why Ulysses would hang around the Divide waiting for the dog to look upon the hell he'd wrought, and he would more than likely seek the canine out himself as soon as he heard about the King's new pet. From there, the story turns into Courier Six investigating an assassination attempt on a goddamned dog, and the events of Lonesome Road play out pretty much the same way they were written - plus plenty of asides about how Ulysses is going to way too much effort over a creature that can't comprehend what nukes are.
Benny Gecko: Few people know that Yes Man was actually one of two securitrons that Benny managed to incapacitate and reprogram, and while the head of the Chairmen hid his favorite in the Tops for safekeeping, he sent the other out into the world for some recon and experimentation. Imagine his surprise when Yes Man was able to remotely hack into a nuclear missile silo and wipe out a budding trade community. And who would've thought that test run was going to come back to bite him in the ass, right after he was sprung from the Legion camp? I think Benny would do everything in his power to avoid entering the Divide, but I also think Ulysses would have little patience for him and would actively force the disgraced city boy into walking the Courier's Mile by blocking any other path out of the Mojave. Benny would form an attachment to ED-E, similar to Yes Man, but would complain the whole way and confront his tormenter with little remorse. He would also nuke both the NCR and the Legion if he came away alive, probably with some snarky one-liner about "letting the chips fall where they may."
Vulpes Inculta: Vulpes already has a few scorched-earth badges on his Pioneer Scouts belt (Nipton, Camp Searchlight, etc.), so eliminating the Divide is just another tactic in the grand strategy playing out between the Bull and the Bear. All he needed to do was leave a certain package in town, and the problem basically solved itself. Unfortunately, that deserter of his wasn't buried under the wreckage, and now Caesar has ordered him to assassinate the renegade. The fool keeps announcing his whereabouts every few hours or so, making tracking an easy task, but by the third time he feels eyes on the back of his neck and turns to find nothing there, Vulpes can't help but wonder whether the student has surpassed the teacher. The final showdown of Frumentarii would be something for the ages, a clash of philosophies and loyalties with plenty of verbal sparring between the bullets. If he survived the encounter with Ulysses, Vulpes would definitely nuke the NCR.
Ulysses: This cut companion can't very well face off against himself, can he? Unless... he was the courier who accidentally brought the Enclave detonator that sealed the Divide's doom. Given the weight of this grief, I think Ulysses would similarly force himself to walk the length of the Divide, take in the utter destruction that his own actions had wrought, and reflect on the meaning of one man changing the course of history. When it came down to the final room, the final decision, our disillusioned courier would activate the launch as a way of testing himself, testing his own resolve. Like Cass, he would stare at the machines shuddering to life around him until the very last moment, before shutting the system down for good, smiling under his breathing mask and walking away forever.
Victor: The robot cowboy doesn't really know what the angry man on the eyebot keeps talking about. He certainly doesn't remember delivering a package to a place called Hopeville or Ashton. Why would he? Mr. House is very good about covering his tracks, particularly when it comes to eliminating business rivals. Really, it could have been any old securitron. Nevertheless, Victor rolls merrily along in search of the courier who summoned his master, letting his own optics passively take in the devastated wasteland left behind by bombs that launched 200 years too late. Because of his robotic nature, I think it'd be a lot easier for Ulysses to get the drop on Victor and disable him at the temple, then wait until House sent another envoy or came himself. House would probably lose interest as soon as he got his data, which I don't think would stall Ulysses much: Once he figured out the Strip's owner isn't coming, he'd find some way to get inside the Lucky 38. If, however, Victor prevailed in the final struggle, he would nuke both the NCR and the Legion on behalf of Mr. House.

Full moon meetings
Tumblr media
Werewolf!Daryl Dixon x Reader
You get stuck in the woods, surrounded by walkers when something saves your life.
Running from walkers was terrible. The only upside here was that you were alone and you could hide way easier than with a group. The other bad part was that it was currently late at night and you had to leave most of your stuff at your campsite because of the small herd that woke you up. The slightly better part was the full moon brightening the area which helped you spot a cabin up ahead to hide in until the walkers passed.
You rushed in and blocked the door behind you, waiting for the herd to pass. When it finally did you carefully scouted the way you came from and backtracked towards your campsite with the hopes that everything was still fine. On your way back you managed to avoid running into another small group of walkers but your camp was ravaged. You could find two knives that you took with you but the bag of food you had to leave behind was trampled completely. Now you were stuck in the woods, alone and with no food.
Your group had ditched you after you've gotten in a fight with someone and they all chose their side instead of yours. You sighed and dug around for anything that was still good enough to take with you and left for the cabin again. Memories of the fight that got you into this mess kept repeating in your head, causing you to not notice a ditch that you casually stepped into and slipped with a shriek, alarming all the walkers you so desperately tried to avoid. This time you didn't have enough time to escape and ended up surrounded, slowly taking down stumbling walkers but it wasn't long before you had them all getting too close too fast and there was no way out of this for you this time.
Not until you heard more growling, but a different kind then walkers' growls. You cowered down and hid your head between your knees, just waiting for it all to be over with as the growling became louder and the shine of the moon seemed to disappear underneath you. There was more growling and a lot of movement but nothing seemed to be directed at you and it surprised you how long you were actually surviving this whole thing. When the walkers' growls died down and the movements seemed to stop, the moon shone on the ground near you again and you carefully lifted your head to look at what happened, only to touch your nose against something wet before opening your eyes. You jumped up with a scream and ran off in the opposite direction, frantically looking back to see a giant creature standing among the corpses of the walkers that surrounded you just now. It didn't seem to move as you slowed your run and rounded it from a large distance, back on your way to the cabin to hole up in for the night, hoping the creature wasn't gonna attack you when it got hungry again. Finally back at the cabin you sat down and let out all the anger and frustration you had bottled up and cried into the murky bed that sat in the far corner. A group of walkers got in the way of his search for food. These nights were best for hunting and he always brought back the largest catch for the community. the ones who knew never spoke about it, and the ones who didn't never seemed to question it and somehow all accepted that the moonlight helped seeing late at night so it was easier to make multiple kills in one night. The group of walkers was a big one, but split after a noise somewhere further down into the woods which he also decided to follow. He came across a small campsite with only one sleeping bag and minimal supplies when another small group passed through, ruining everything in sight. He decided to watch from a distance to see what the walkers were fixated on and after a while of observing he ended on a survivor in the middle of another small section of the herd, surrounded and unable to get out by themselves. He watched as the person gave up and crawled down. As if his body moved on its own he jumped in and started gnawing away at the walkers, clawing and biting at them until all of them were down. He stepped away from the girl and sniffed around her, trying to smell for other humans or any sign of a walker bite but he found none. While he was busy she had raised her head and bumped her nose against his and jumped up with a shriek. He stepped back in confusion and stared as she ran off into the distance. He stalked her back to the cabin and decided to go back to hunting after seeing she got in safe.Normally he'd store his kills in the cabin but for now he'd have to think of something else.
You woke up later, your eyes still hurt from crying so it took a while longer to get adjusted to the darkness. When you were able to see properly again you checked out the cabin again, better this time now that you were safe and rested. While staring at the far wall you dragged yourself out of bed, stepping on something and dropping to the floor. Said something moved. "What the.. Shit!!" You called out as you tried to get away from the thing that you ran into earlier. It was large, covered in fur, and ..snoring? No, that wasn't a snore. That was more of a huff. Shit, you woke it up. It grumbled as it opened an eye to see what happened and saw you on the floor, staring in fear. It decided to get up and move further away from the bed and plop down on the floor again, keeping an eye on you until it had settled and closed them again to continue its sleep. Carefully getting back up you to make it back to the bed you spotted something near the door. Taking a better look you saw it was a pile of animals, not chewed down or torn apart but seemingly skillfully hunted. From what you could see there wasn't a lot of blood on them but their necks were clawed open or twisted in a gross way so you stopped looking and lied back down. Rest didn't really come anymore so when it was getting brighter outside you carefully snuck out of the cabin with all your stuff and left without waking the thing that accompanied you.
"I'm heading back to my group now, bye." You whispered softly as you closed the cabin door and walked off to what you hoped was your next safe stop and some food.
After what felt like an eternity you managed to catch a fish to fry and finally eat something. You took a break at the riverside and moved on after you had rested enough. You walked for a bit when you ended up on a road with a sign telling you about a place called Alexandria, a safe space according to the writing. It felt like a dream come true and you quickly made your way towards where the sign told you to go and close to sundown you finally arrived at the gates. You were quickly called after by someone on top of the gates. They asked you all kinds of questions  after someone opened one part of the gates before letting you in. A small group had gathered already and a guy named Aaron had given you some water and was talking to you together with another guy who introduced himself as Rick. He was a lot less nice than Aaron but you understood where his concerns came from. "She's fine. Quit bein' harsh on her." A gruff voice spoke from behind them. A guy with long shaggy hair moved into the group and you tried your hardest to remember if you ever saw him before but you had no idea who he was. "Ya said ya were goin' back to yer group. Why're ya here alone?" The two other men looked at him with confused looks on their faces but you tried to go along with what he said. "Yeah, I don't have a group. Thanks again for saving my ass. I didn't want to be bothering you any more than I already did." You said apologetic, hoping you came across convincing enough. "S'alright. good ya found this place." He added before going into a discussion with the other two, just out of your earshot. The man named Rick came back and brought the news that you were accepted into their community as long as you posed no threat to anyone and pulled your weight in the group. You agreed to all the terms he gave you and led you to an empty home where you could live for tonight. They all understood you were tired and left you alone for the time being. After you cleaned yourself up you went to sit down on your porch to take in your surroundings. It all felt surreal, it looked like this place had never even seen a walker at all.
"Hey, you." The guy from before made his way over to your porch and sat down next to the bench, keeping an acceptable distance to not scare you off. You welcomed him and moved down to sit closer so you could talk easier. "You saved me last night, didn't you." You asked quietly, not sure if it was something okay to ask about. He nodded and thanked you for not freaking out about it. "S'alright. My name's Daryl."
"Thank you for saving my ass, really. And for  saying what you did when I got here." You had introduced yourself before at the gate and now you talked about how you lost your group and ended up in the area. It was clear you were skilled enough to survive on you own as long as you didn't get caught off guard. "So, am I allowed yo ask about last night?" You wondered carefully, earning a smile and a nod. He told you about his hunting trips during the full moons and the further his story went, the more he wondered how you were so calm about it all. "I guess I have a soft spot for big monsters that are nice to people? I used to watch old monster movies for days on end before al of this." You turned away shyly. "I gotta admit, I've always been a sucker for werewolves." Saying that out loud made you want to curl up and disappear, but instead of being answered with something hurtful or being laughed at, you got a genuine smile and a "Glad I saved yer ass, then." He replied casually. "Finally someone who ain't scared of that side." The sad tone in his voice was hard to miss now and you felt bad for him. You gave him your biggest smile and leaned closer to him. "I like both of your sides."
You were new here and it was all still a little scary, but you knew it was all going to be alright with your big, not so bad wolf at your side.

Why did you choose raising OUR baby alone, I-“
“I DON’T KNOW, OKAY?!
You still loved him. There was no doubt about it. But was that enough? Loving him hadn’t been enough to stop him from vanishing. It hadn’t stopped him from running away and not telling you about his pregnancy.
All you wanted to do was come back, forget everything and love him. The urge to throw yourself at him was almost unbearable, but…
“I’m sorry…”, you croaked when you gently pushed his hand away, “I can’t forgive you.”
It was for the better. Even if it hurt, even if all you had wanted to do was to get back together these past three years, now that you knew the reason? You simply couldn’t. It hurt too much. Knowing he had hidden your son from you all this time. If you had never accidentally met him, Katsuki would have never tried to find and tell you about your son. You would have never known Hiroto existed if it wasn’t for that accidental meeting.
You had so many unanswered questions and now that you had answers to them it was impossible to forget what had happened. He left you. He betrayed your trust. Even if he did have a suitcase ready to go, even if he did have letters that were never sent – what did it matter? The hard truth was, despite his suitcase and unsent letters, he was still in Hokkaido. He was still living alone with Hiroto and he was still managing just fine without you.
Bakugou broke down completely. He knew it. And he knew he deserved it, but hearing it out loud was too much.
“I will be... there for Hiroto and not leave him alone again.”, you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down, though it didn’t really help.
“But I can’t be together with you again. You hurt me too much. I’ve struggled to find a reason to stand up in the morning for so long, wondering what I did wrong, what I have done that drove you away. Having to contact each and every one of our friends and my family to tell them we canceled the wedding because you left… was the most humiliating and painful thing I ever had to endure. And then to find out it’s because of… this… It’s too much Katsuki, I can’t do it. I wish you would have just been honest back then…”, you struggled to talk as you wiped away your tears.
Your inner Alpha was howling sorrowfully. Katsuki’s inner Omega was weeping bitterly.
But you both understood and so, when you turned to walk away, Bakugou stayed behind. There was no point in fighting anymore. As much as he was hurt, as much as he wanted to cling onto you and not let you go. He knew he deserved it. He did have everything back then. A loving family, an amazing mate, a successful, thriving career as a hero and then he threw it all away because he couldn’t be honest with the one he loved the most.
All those years he had still hoped that one day you would forgive him. Maybe one day, everything would be alright, but Katsuki was wrong. Nothing would be alright. Some broken things just couldn’t be fixed anymore no matter how hard someone tried to glue them back together. The relationship had shattered into million little pieces when he left that day three years ago.
And now, he had to watch as you walked out of his apartment and didn’t turn back again.

Four walls
Tumblr media
Newt x reader
A/N- 😩
Warning- fluff, swearing, ANGST, sadness
Requested by anon “can i request a death fire imagine where the reader gets the flare instead of newt? thanks !!”
———-
It’s funny how life works. At one point in life everyone longed to escape the four walls that kept you incarcerated and hidden from the world nobody remembered, only recalled by fleeting dreams.
And now there was nothing more you wanted but to be dreaming, wake up in the same four walls that at one point you hated to see and wished that they would've been blown up.
There was nothing more you wanted, but to wake up to early calls insisted by Gally, the smell of fresh breakfast, the laughing and loud booming voices of all the boys you grew to love as family; and Newt. He was like family, but he had grown to be so much more than that.
And actually now that you thought of it well, you wanted to experience just one more early morning; where Newt would wake you up just a couple minutes before the sun rose to climb the wall and watch as the sun rose and beautifully casted on top of the maze. Anything beat watching the blacks veins caused by the flare slowly begin to branch out all over your arm, bringing doom closer with every stretch.
“Hey, you doing alright?” Newt's voice broke through your silence, pulling your gaze away from the rising sun.
You show him a smile and nod, “I’m doing better,” you assure him, watching as he took a seat beside you on the ledge of the building. “But I actually don’t really regret anything I said about Teresa. She is a backstabbing bitch...just don’t tell Thomas.”
Newt chuckles and watches you turn away as he keeps his eyes on you, the amusing smile he had fading away until it was nothing but a worried frown. “Are you sure you’re okay? I’ve never seen you lash out like that. Not even when Gally would piss you off.”
A heavy sigh leaves your lips and you clench your fist, hesitating for a moment, unable, or really not wanting to reveal the truth of the dooming fact you were hiding. But knowing you had to, it was inevitable.
“I,” you pause after the first word uttered, shifting your body to completely face him, lifting your injured arm and slowly lifting your sleeve to reveal the truth. “I guess I can’t hide this anymore.”
Newt’s breath hitches and you see as his body stiffens at the sight of the black veins under your skin, covering the both of you in a silence that grew a quick tension neither of you seemed to break for a moment as he tried to think of what to say first and how to feel. His eyes showing the battle that brew in his mind until he finally dared to speak.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
You shrug, “I didn’t think it would’ve made a difference, plus I didn’t want to worry any of you.”
“We can still fix this.” He interjected quickly, “Thomas can. He helped Brenda and she’s fine now.”
“Don’t worry about me, this is about Minho. Now he needs us. So if there's the slightest chance that we can save him, that we can get him out of there. We have to take that. He comes first. No matter what the cost.” You explain as you reach for his hand.
He hesitates, looking down at what you were trying to do, leaving his hand stiff for another long moment that soon made your assuring smile begin to fall. Causing you to insist again, tilting your head down so you could look into his eyes.
“Promise me, Newt. He comes first. Please.”
Again there was long waiting silence that made you think that he wasn’t going to listen. That for the first time since you’ve known one another that he wasn’t going to respect your choice.
But thankfully you were proven wrong as he took your hand and nodded in agreement. “I understand.”
A small smile breaks through your features and you scoot yourself closer to him, resting your head on his shoulder to both sit in a comfortable silence that was enjoyed as you looked up to the city behind the walls.
——
Plans had gone awry, which led to Thomas, Newt and you to continue on improvising as you went along in search for your lost friend.
Maybe that’s what you all get for trusting Theresa.
You were trying so hard not to be so judgemental towards her now that you were nearing death, especially since she had helped. Somewhat. But it was hard to view her as anything else but as a backstabber. Specifically now that you were face to face with a guard pointing a gun at the three of you. Remembering that none of this would’ve happened if she hadn’t spoken up. That Minho—
Suddenly someone comes sprinting down the hall, shoving the guard to the wall and expressing a loud bellow as he threw the guard through the glass. Finally turning after he calmed to show that it was, Minho.
Without a second thought the three of you rushed towards your friend, pulling him into a quick group hug that he followed to respond with a question. “Is this real?”
You grin and nod, not being able to respond before more guards rushed down the hall and pointed their weapons at all of you; forcing you to make another quick escape down multiple halls, getting you tired by the minute and by each sprint. The quick breaks, like the one now, were no help whatsoever and only caused you to tire more, feel the flame course faster through your body.
“Any ideas?” Minho asked Thomas as he, Newt and you walked further away from the door Janson and crew were trying to break through.
Thomas turned to all of you and shared a quick, hesitant answer, “maybe.”
——
“This is a horrible idea!” You exclaim while you’re watching the tank Thomas threw fall several feet down the building until it crashed in the water below, not assuring you one bit whatsoever.
“Okay this is doable.” Thomas assured the group and himself. “Just need a little running start.” He walks back and Minho, Newt and you meet each other’s nervous glance.
If you had to die, crashing into the concrete ground was better than turning from the virus that was poisoning you.
“You’re sure about this?” Minho asked as the rest of you walked back towards Thomas.
“Not really.” Thomas admitted.
You scoffed, “nice pep talk.”
“Yeah, bloody inspiring.” Newt remarked before the door was burst open, forcing you not to hesitate any longer and run towards the broken window to jump out and fall hundreds of feet down towards the ground. Feeling as if your stomach was going to your throat at the feeling of your body being pulled down by gravity, every gut wrenching feeling crashing into the water as you landed with a loud splash and new found annoyance towards Thomas.
“Never again.” You groan to Thomas as Newt helps you up to solid ground, “am I letting you—”
“You four, don’t move!” A guard cuts you off.
Thomas sighs, “you’ve got to be kidding me.” He then reaches for something behind, but hesitates as the guards call him out, inching closer as they did, instructing you to go on your knees until one of them shoots its other fellow guards. Making you gasp and step back.
Only to see Gally come up.
Making it the last and only time you were actually thankful to see him.
——
“Darling, how are you feeling?” Newt asked as he stood before you.
Letting out one last violent cough towards the ground, you lift your head and groan, “terrible, but it’s good you’re here.” Your eyes drift to the murmuring trio of boys, noting their eyes drifted away the moment you looked. Giving away an obvious indication. “They’re talking about me aren’t they?”
Newt looks over and takes your hand, “maybe, but I assure it isn’t anything bad.”
You manage a weak smile, “please be careful with Thomas’s crazy ideas, okay? No more jumping out skyscrapers.”
Newt chuckles, “don’t worry we won’t.” His smile falters as Thomas comes to you.
“Hey, y/n, come on, we have to get you up, let’s go.”
Both boys help you to your shaking feet, struggling as you fumbled forward, unable to keep yourself on balance or actually walk without their help.
Your head hurt and your chest felt as if someone was gripping onto it with a mighty hold. Your legs felt like they were numbing by the minute, or like you had no control over them. Nothing felt right,
The explosion that hit miles away didn’t even affect you like it should have. Your mind and body wanted to give in when you didn’t, you kept fighting along, moving with the boys as they pulled you along towards the now raging city.
“All right, y/n, we’re almost there.” Gally assured you.
You shake your head and cough again before you struggle to speak, “just...leave me.”
Before any of the boys could talk back, another explosion cuts them off and stopped you in your tracks for a long moment that then revealed a flying chopper in the sky.
“Okay. That’s them! That’s them. We have to go!”
Thomas and Newt tried to pull you up again but you refused, “just leave me.” Another cough escapes your mouth and this time blood spits out, turning your breathing shallow and quick.
“Minho,” Thomas called, “you gotta run ahead, grab the serum and get back to us as soon as you can.”
Minho narrowed his gaze on Thomas at the sound of his other idea, not saying anything but looking. Letting Newt insist as well.
“Minho, go.”
Gally nodded, “he’s right. I can cover for you.”
Before Gally leaves, he shoots one reassuring look, leaving you to turn to Minho before he leaves too.
“Thank you. Thank you, Minho. It’s nice seeing you again.”
He smiles and grabs your shoulder, “hey, you just hang on you hear me.”
Before long he gets to his feet and runs away with Gally. Leaving behind Newt, Thomas and you. With every moment feeling yourself slip more and something else possess you. Bringing darkness and pain and a short time limit to live.
“Hey! Hey! Y/N! Hey!” Newt and Thomas snapped you back to your surroundings.
“We’re gonna try this, okay?” Thomas urged, “we gotta move, now.”
Newt grabs your arm and begins to pull you up again, “let’s get you up, come on.”
“No, no, guys stop.” You yell, “Just go, I’m just dead weight. Please.”
Newt eyes gleam with tears and he shakes his head as Thomas does, grabbing your arms again to only keep fighting. “You got to give me everything you got. You and us, right now. Let’s go. You ready?”
Swallowing thickly you nod, feeling them lift you to your feet again. Dragging you along the broken and raging city. Only feeling every minute cost more, take more, robbing you from everything you had left, the battle fought within, losing with each breath taken, your life, sanity, hanging from the string of Newts last words.
“I love you, okay? Ever since the moment you came up in that box. I love you and I alway will. Time with you was never boring. I want you to know that.” He cups your cheeks and tears stream down his face, “and I know I couldn’t help you in time but I wanted too I really did. I’m going to miss you so much,” he cries, trying to smile through the pain, lifting his gun as discreetly as he could, “and until we can see each other again, it’s okay to let go. Just let go. Think back to us when we would sneak up to the wall to watch the sunrise, okay? Just let go darling. Let go....”
~
“Come on, let’s go. A little further.” Newt called over his shoulder, a smile spreading on his cheeks, one that seemed to glow through the darkness of the night.
You groan, “we’re going to get in trouble, y’know. Gally is really going to put it in us. He might even throw us to the maze.”
“Stop you’re whining, you’re basically there.”
“Hmph,”
Nonetheless you keep following up the wall, not questioning the ladder he had built or why you were coming here. Yet.
Not until you got to the very top where you gasped and stood in awe as you saw every inch of the maze you were stuck in; every line, dead end, every wall after wall.
“W-what are we doing up here?” You gasp, turning to meet his gaze, “are you pushing me down the maze?”
Newt scoffs, “no...just sit down and wait.”
Without hesitation you do as he says and sit down with your legs dangling over the wall, breathing in to say something, but stopping as the break of dawn cut you off. Leaving your lips parted in awe once again. But this time unlike the moment before, enamored with the view of the sun hitting the top of the walls; the way the sun gleamed on the walls surface and the sun rays began to kiss your bodies as it slowly began to rise more and more.
“This-this,” you stutter, still gawking over the view, “it’s amazing!”
Newt reached for your hand and watched as you turned to meet his gleaming gaze, “told you it'd be worth it.”
You grin warmly, “you did.” Scooting closer to him you rest your head on his shoulder and keep a hold of his hand. “Promise me we’ll come here again.”
Newt rests his head on your head and whispers, “I promise.”

omg can i please get "im gonna marry you one day" with george luz OR "you pretend that you dont know me in front of your(our) friends" with joe liebgott
whichever you want! tysm 💖💖
Tumblr media
prompt: "im gonna marry you one day"
george luz x reader
a/n: i present to you some mediocre george luz fluff with only a LITTLE angst. to make up for my last atrocity lol. this is a feat for me, as the self proclaimed queen of sadness.
══════════════════
The first time he said so, you thought it was a joke. George was always joking. Always trying to get a reaction from you, whether it be a bright laugh or a mortified warning whisper. You were the best kind of friends.
It was after helping him home at the end of a very long night, when George was more exhausted than tipsy. So you shoved him toward his sofa and untied his shoes. And just as you grabbed your coat and turned to leave, he said...
"You're too good. I'm gonna have to marry you one day."
His tired mumbles died out almost exactly as his head hit the throw pillow. And when you turned with a blush you saw he was already asleep where you'd left him, but that same mischievous grin remained on his face.
It had to be a joke. So you didn't think a thing of his comment, besides the come back you were going to have to throw his way, come morning.
That's how the two of you worked. Batting ideas between your wits until one or both of you were doubled over with laughter and the night was through.
He'd been a good friend. He'd been a generous soul. A watchful eye. A listening ear. He'd been there for you, and stayed that way.
So you'd come to know George well. Whether either of you cared to admit it or not, there was an unspoken, inexplicable bond between the two of you. He was the first person you'd call should disaster strike. The last person you wanted to sit through a movie with, but the person whose commentary you missed most when it was just you in front of the telly.
He was always joking. And whether or not he succeeded in getting you to giggle, he was laughing all the while. But there were those rare moments, when the two of you would talk like the world was ending. Trading dire secrets or genuine apologies.
So when the second time he said it, you knew it wasn't a joke.
There you stood at the platform, the roaring of an approaching train growing louder with each thud of your heart. You wouldn't let yourself think of why you stood here, or where George was about to head off too. You couldn't imagine what horrors might dull his brightness. You shuddered to imagine the glimmer in George's eye being blown away. So you thought further ahead.
"You better make it back here before too long." You shrugged, reaching out to straighten George's collar. You didn't know how to say you'd miss him.
He grabbed your hand, to dismiss your pestering, you thought. But he didn't let go. George just held on, letting his eyes dart from your intertwined fingers, back to meet your own gaze. And then he sucked in a breath, and said...
"I've gotta make it back. I'm gonna marry you one day."
It wasn't some witty call back to the time he'd said so before. He really meant it. You could tell by the softness in his usually impish smile. And the way his eyes desperately searched yours.
And then just like that, his hand left yours, and George was stepping onto the train.
How dare he, you thought, leave you with such weighted words without time to ask why he'd said them. Without time to swat his arm and curse at the way he made your heart rate multiple.
George waved from the door of the train before an impatient usher shooed him to find his seat. You just barely heard as he replied "Alright I'm goin', I'm goin'."
And you tried to pretend that wasn't the last thing you heard him say. You tried to imagine he wouldn't be gone long. And you tried to imagine what life would be like once he returned.
You headed back to the way things were. But nothing was the same with George gone.
And even when you finally heard from him, it wasn't at all as comforting as you hoped it might've been. He wrote little. And asked more of you than he said of himself. He asked for updates about local goings-on. Asked you to tell him how his family seemed, despite having been in touch with them all the same.
You wrote back, answering all his questions and daring to ask a few vague inquiries of your own. You danced around the subject of what he said to you. And he never directly responded to your subtle hints.
But despite having heard George say what he said with your own ears, you decided after a while that he couldn't have been serious. Rarely was he. But often did you let your own thoughts blow things out of proportion. That had to be what was going on, now...
So you stopped wondering, on paper at least. You kept your many frequent thoughts of George to yourself. And you tried not to worry about when you'd hear from him again, or the fact that he had less to say each time.
You just answered all of his usual questions about the state of your hometown and secretly dreamed of the day you got to stroll through it together again. You never knew when his next letter would come. Sometimes months would pass with nothing but dust filling your mailbox. And years had passed since this new discombobulated routine had become normal.
But still, everyday you heard the postman swing open the gate at the end of your path, you eagerly hurried to fetch the mail.
When you heard that sure scuffle of the postman approaching the porch steps that led to your post box, you dusted your hands of a day's work and scurried toward the door.
But, as you approached, a knocking gave you pause. The postman never knocked. You took a beat to smooth your wrinkled clothes before answering the door you were near opening anyway.
At first, it seemed no one was there. Then you looked down to find George Luz on one knee.
"You're home!" You gasped taking in the sight of him. The swoop of his unusually long hair. The grin on his face and that same old glimmer in his eye. You'd never seen it shine brighter, in fact.
Your favourite friend reached for your hands and held them as he did at the train station; like he really meant too.
"I told you I'd be back to marry you one day. Wanna make it soon?"
All your second guesses and dismissive thoughts flew out the window as you threw yourself to meet George where he knelt in your doorway. His arms wrapped around you in time to save you from crashing to the porch, and his huff of stunned laughter was like music to your ears. You wrapped your arms around his neck and held on tight to prove you weren't dreaming.
"Is that a yes or are you trying to strangle me for taking so long to properly ask?" He quipped
"Both!" You cried, burying your face in his neck and marvelling over how familiar this was. How all the time that had passed so miserably slow without George seemed like no time at all, now.
"Well, we'd better go do the damn thing before you deprive me of too much oxygen." George insisted, holding you closer all the same.
"What, right now?" You chuckled, leaning back to search George's gaze. He was as beautiful as ever. Just as wonderfully himself. Though you could tell some deep wary exhaustion played behind the shine of his eyes. That could be felt with in time. Now, there was a rather pressing matter at hand...
"War is over babe, and I'd been waiting long before that anyhow."
With that, it was decided. George shuffled to his feet, raising you up alongside him. He hurried you along your flustered rush to grab a couple of things. And then the two of you flew down the porch steps and into the rest of your lives together.
You'd been longing for this day before you even knew George was too. Now there was nothing that could keep you apart. No war. No time. No worries. You were now and forever bound to have every movie night ruined by George's blathering over it. And that's just the way you wanted it.

Favorite fics by some of your buddies on Tumblr and Discord?
God nonnie. You fucked up big time. You underestimated just how hard I can appreciate my friends. I’d like to formally apologize for how long and in-depth this got, but I would pick a stopping point and then go ‘oh! but i cant leave out so-and-so’ and then this got mega out of hand.
Organized by author and not genre! And if I didn’t include any of your works (or I did and it was not the one you wanted), please, don’t take it personally. I am trusting everyone who comes across this post to read the tags themselves, but for two of the fics I have left TWs in front of them.
Cassia’s fics:
Internet Enemies by @cassiopeia721 (x)
At school, Midoriya Izuku is ignored at best. At home, he's raised by a single mother who seems to be always taking night shifts, and who he communicates with almost exclusively through notes on lunch boxes and texts lying about his location. As such, Midoriya Izuku turns to the internet— or more specifically, an All Might fan server on discord— for companionship. Like most things in his life, it goes wrong eventually. It just takes longer than usual.
hypnic jump
Izuku finds himself somewhere he doesn't recognize in an oversized green jumpsuit with a hero he's never seen at his back. He's pretty sure he's dreaming, and subsequent events only solidify that theory into rock-solid certainty.
Paradigm Shift (Harry Potter)
Harry undergoes a paradigm shift at the beginning of his fifth year. (Slytherin Harry)

Kestrel’s fics:
Compass by @autisticmidoriyas (x)
Midoriya Izuku never had the chance to become a hero—or even to grow up. Fifteen years after his death, Akatani Izuku tries to save the life of a dying hero and in return receives a target painted on his back and a power humming in his bones.
All Might, Sir Nighteye, Ground Zero, Suneater, and Skyquake are left scrambling in the wake of Lemillion’s death to figure out who now holds One For All.
Intertwined with all this, the League of Villains’ war against Japan burns on. With the loss of Lemillion, the advantage is now theirs, and with the loss of One For All, victory is all-but-assured.
(What the villains don’t know is that One For All lives on in the blood of a boy who was always meant to be a hero.)
triskelion
A few seconds, and their lives—their life—is changed forever. Where three people used to exist, there is now only one.
While visiting the mall with their class, Izuku, Katsuki, and Shouto are the victims of someone whose quirk can fuse together objects … and people.
Permanently.
Facing down the fact that they may never be unfused, a long adjustment period lies ahead of them as they learn how to be themself and figure out where they fit into their families, their class, and their world.
the meaning of hope
One day, the smoke will reach its end. They hold out hope for that. Even with quirks, fires cannot burn forever. They will consume all their fuel, until there is nothing left, and they will wither and die.

Lilly’s fics:
Rise of the Rat Finks by Authoress_Lilly
“You're not in trouble Neito. You’ve been tapped to join The Rats.”
The boy blinks. “The what?”
Vlad opens up a folder and hands Monoma a flyer and a small pin in the shape of a rat. “It’s a sort of secret society here at UA.
Or: an excuse to put Monoma and Midoriya together in way too many words 😅
The Root to Villainy
Prompt: Izuku doesn't realize how fucked up his past was until Aizawa does an immersive class on villain origins.
Whoops?

Dance’s fics:
Never Take Your Problem Children To Costco by DanceInTheKitchen
“SECURE THE EGGS! I REPEAT SECURE THE EGGS!” Bakugou bellowed.
“YES SIR! AYE AYE SIR!” Izuku saluted.
Shouta is staring at his students, one of whom seems to be reenacting the Lion King with a carton of eggs while the other salutes him, and wonders. What the hell did he do in his past life to deserve this?? Past him must have committed some great sin, like putting sugar in his coffee, or being a dog person.
Or, Aizawa, Bakugou and Midoriya walk into a Costco.
grow as we go
The dorms were silent, but out here in the open air, she felt both isolated and free. Isolated from the world, but free from the responsibility crushing her, isolated from her friends and family, but free from judgement. Up here, with only the stars and Iida as company, Momo felt like she could breathe.
They sat next to each other in silence, watching the stars silently crawl their way across the sky. Iida doesn’t break the silence, but he also doesn’t leave. It’s a silent promise, to listen if she needs it, or to keep her company if she doesn’t want to speak. It’s comforting.
She’s not sure when she speaks, it’s somewhere between staring up at the stars, and looking at the shiny dew covering the grass of the hills behind UA.
“I’m not ready.”
Or, with graduation right around the corner, Momo has a conversation with Iida about what growing up means.

Azure’s fics:
A Helping Hand for All by azureskyy
Izuku doesn't know why everyone's talking about a certain hero analyst online. He's tried browsing through the forums and other sites, but he just can't find the person they're talking about.
Maybe he'll ask them later. For now, he has some analysis to do.
Or: Izuku is a well-known hero and quirk analyst across multiple social media platforms.
Not that he's aware of it, of course.
A Missed Chance
Two paths cross then diverge. In another universe, perhaps, they could have walked on the same path; they could have talked for the second time that day, and Izuku could have been given an opportunity that could change his entire life. And maybe, just maybe, he would have taken it.
But this isn’t that universe.
Or: What if All Might wasn't able to find Izuku after the Sludge Villain Incident?

Alice’s fics:
A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by @makeitbluue (x)
“Did you think you’d be safe from me forever? That you could chip away at my power base and I would not care or try to hunt you down?” The man asks as he steps forwards.
Izuku scrambles backwards in his bed, searching the covers as he goes for his phone. If he can get a text off to All Might or Aizawa-sensei he can alert people to the potential danger.
But even as he moves, something in the back of his mind tells him he had heard this voice before. A different time, a different context, but the same voice.

In a world where you can feel your soulmate's pain, Eijirou spends a lot of his life up until meeting his soulmate hurting.
draw and quarter
In District Twelve, no one volunteers.
When Aizawa Shouta’s name is called, no one says a word. He stands there for a moment, feeling all the world slow around him, and then he straightens his shoulders and walks to his death.
He will die fighting. At the very least, Shouta can promise that.
Shouta's name is drawn for the Hunger Games, alongside Shirakumo Oboro. No one from their district has ever won.
damage control
After All for One's defeat, Aizawa Shouta is grasping for ways to protect his students. At the same time, a discrepancy in Midoriya's behavior leads Shouta down a dangerous line of investigation and to a single question: if Midoriya is the U.A. traitor.
Between the Wind and the Water
Staying at U.A. for winter break, Izuku hopes it'll be a quiet chance to spend the holidays with Todoroki and supervising teachers All Might and Aizawa-sensei.
It's just his luck a gift-shopping trip turns into a gift from a villain, and Izuku's new Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk is not so easy to control. Neither are the secrets he's been carefully keeping.
a glimpse of tomorrow (looking back)
Subject: Aldera Time Capsule Ceremony Forwarded Message— This year marks ten years for the Aldera Middle School graduating class of 20XX.To celebrate, we would like to invite pro heroes Kingpin and Deku, Aldera alumni, to participate in a public time-capsule opening. We are incredibly proud to have helped them on their journeys to becoming heroes, and would be most honored to receive them as guests and for them to speak at the ceremony. [...]
"Well," Deku says, leaning over to turn the monitor towards him. His eyes flick over the contents of the email one more time. "If they haven't changed, then I guess we could return the favor."
Ten years down the line, Bakugou and Midoriya are invited to a time capsule ceremony at their middle school to read letters from their past selves, and look back on their past and how it shaped their future. For anyone else, it would have been a celebration.
For the two of them, it's an opportunity.
A look into Bakugou and Midoriya's past—through a future neither of them imagined—as pro heroes, agency partners, and friends.
of the mighty heart
It was just complicated. Kacchan had changed. Izuku had changed. What was between them was constant—Kacchan was always there—but even constants, Izuku supposed, could change, too.
...You saved me, sometimes you say Deku and it doesn’t sound so much like an insult, you say it like you mean it, you say it like you mean me.
After the war ends and the dust settles, Izuku is left in pain and feeling useless. There's still so much to do and people to save, and it's just... too much for one person.
And then there's Kacchan.

Fawn’s fics:
Bough Breaks by @fawnvelveteen (x) (trigger warning for discussion of rape/noncon)
In life, nothing is certain. Pro-heroes aren’t always the good guys. Children are not spared from the darkest realms of humanity. Izuku isn't acting like his normal self at school lately, and his homeroom teacher has taken notice. After learning about the mother’s new, unwelcomed boyfriend, Aizawa’s concern shifts into dread. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep his student away from harm.

Ghost’s fics:
fingerpaint bruises and a kick in the teeth by @ghoststrawberries (x)
There’s a sour taste in Shouta’s mouth as he stares at Jackrabbit’s bright smile. The smile he’s wearing in every clear photo of him. It somewhat reminds Shouta of All Might’s smile.
Jackrabbit might be a menace to the Commission, but there’s no way Shouta can believe that a man with that smile is anything less than good to his core.
“And I’m your last resort to handle this quietly.” He says knowingly, keeping his thoughts to himself.
“Precisely.”
Shouta’s gut response is to refuse.
The words “I don’t kill.” are halfway up his throat before they become stuck.
As an underground hero, sometimes Shouta Aizawa is called upon to do darker jobs than one might expect a hero to have to do. This time, when he's tasked with taking out a vigilante who's managed to bother the Hero Public Safety Commission one too many times, he's not sure he'll be able to follow through.

“You claim you are from the future,” Nedzu said, hopping onto his desk. “Do you have anything to prove this?”

Nedzu opened his mouth, but Hitoshi kept right on going, producing a handful of odds and ends from his pocket. “Also a movie ticket, some dryer lint, some, uh, didn’t know I still had that but it’s old gum—“
That was when Aizawa walked in, capture weapon floating around him. “What’s the emergency?” he asked, clipped, as he kicked open the door.

Blue Memories (lbscexchange2021)
Yay! It’s Valentine’s Day!
Soooo....who wants a sad?
He opened the door for Marinette and gently escorted her inside.
She looked around, surveying every detail. The baby blue of the accent wall. The furniture in all of its strange varieties of makes that still somehow fit together. The assortment of decorations from the little black cat figurine that had been a joke housewarming gift from friends to her potted plants lined up at the wide windows—still tenderly cared for, even in her absence. All things that were part of the home. All things that made the home their own.
And yet, not a single hint of warmth came to her eyes.
“This is…my house?”
Ours, he didn’t say.
After all the things they had experienced throughout the years—the monsters they’d fought, the battles they’d won, the people they’d saved…
It seemed so surreal that it was something as simple as a car accident that would take her down.
She stepped through the entryway into the main room—tentative. Unsure. Like she didn’t think she belonged. Her grip on her cane tightened, belying her anxiety.
He rested a hand on her shoulder in reassurance. Allowing her to use him as her other support as she was forced to confront a home she didn’t know and memories she couldn’t recall.
“Just…take a bit of time to familiarize.” He whispered.
I will be with you every step of the way.
She took a breath but nodded before moving forward, and for a second—
Standing tall, wearing her suit like armor, her shoulders broad and head high in steely determination even in the face of overwhelming odds—
Luka could see the courageous young woman he loved in this stranger’s frame.
For her part, Marinette was…handling the circumstances if nothing else.
She stepped away from him, standing with only her cane and her one good leg for support. Rather than immediately head for the couch or any place to rest, she wandered the room, taken in by the all of the remnants of a person she used to be.
There was an array of frames along the wall as she passed, each containing memorabilia from newspaper clippings to artwork to awards. She gave them a cursory glance, none of them really standing out. At most, she barely touched one that contained a pink ribbon—
“Isn’t this a bit much? And a bit silly?”
Alya had gasped in mock outrage. “Girl, this is your own design house! We have to have a ribbon cutting ceremony to make it official! Otherwise, what have our years of labor been for?”
Marinette giggled. “You mean my labor?”
“Hey, don’t forget who did the interviews.” The other woman said with a wink.
More giggling.
“Of course, of course! I never would have gotten this far without you. Any of you.”
“And don’t forget it!” More giggling. “And besides, a happy opening is a sign of a happy beginning. This is your dream, girl! Go all out and enjoy it becoming real!”
“Okay, okay! So how will we do this?”
Luka smiled as he brought over the fancy scissors.
—pink ribbon, a couple inches thick, contained in a frame along with a picture of a group of strangers standing outside a building.
He carefully took their bags back to their his room, allowing her a moment to reflect and himself time to gain some composure.
To think it would be a car accident that did this. Not some epic villain battle, no. A stupid car accident because of her insistence on meeting him at the airport and some idiot who decided to run a red light. He'd consider laughing if he wasn't on the verge of breaking down…
But…she needed him. More than ever now.
When he returned, she was standing at the wall aligning with the window, lightly touching the dollhouse that was stationed there.
“Do we…did we have kids?”
“No.” Not yet.
It was grand—a four storied house with five rooms on each floor, each fully furnished in different ways. Its outside had the design of a cozy cottage, with walls were painted with a soft pink as well as white doors and window shutters. All of which were moveable, to her amazement.
“Where did we even get something like this?”
It had been a labor of love.
She hadn’t wanted to leave the kwamis stuck in the Miracle Box with no idea of the happenings in the world. And as they had begun spending more time outside, Marinette had been insistent that the kwamis deserved their own space outside of the Box. It had taken her weeks to make it—and multiple failed attempts.
She gave them their own home within hers. She’d wanted them to feel welcome.
It may very well have been the first time the little gods had cried.
“It was…a project.”
She frowned, but didn’t speak further. Her gaze turned to the nearby shelf on the adjoining wall. Holding a number of books. A single bin full of yarn for knitting. Two guitars rested along the side.
“Luka, it’s beautiful, but…why?”
“Why not?” He smiled.
“But…I’m not much of a guitar player. You know that. I’m not like you, Mr. Top 20 three-weeks-in-a-row. I still don’t know how to play the guitar.”
She moved to put it back in its case, but he pulled her back and into his lap along with the guitar. Her squawk of surprise only made him grin, and he placed a kiss to her head.
“That just means you’ll have more opportunity to learn.”
She rolled her eyes, but she was smiling.
“Do you play?” She had asked, curious as she looked over the two guitars.
He smiled bitterly.
“Wow,” Dingo whistled as he peeked through the curtains. “Quite a crowd out there.”
“I’m not sure I can do this.” Luka muttered.
It had been one thing when he had been playing with Kitty Section. But the band had gone their separate ways and now he was playing center stage.
“No worries. It’s only your first show. If you choke, who will even remember?”
He sighed. “Yeah, see, that? That’s not helping.”
“I’ll tell you something that will, though…” Dingo trailed off with a smirk. Before Luka could react, the other wrapped an arm around his neck and dragged him to view the opening in the curtain.
“Dingo!”
“Take a look!”
Luka glared at his friend—or tried, but Dingo’s grip around his neck really kept him from turning in any direction besides the one the other wanted.
Dingo, for his part, didn’t even have the grace to look back, instead grinning at something through the curtain.
“A certain little lady in the center seat of the middle row.”
Luka froze. And immediately, his eyes glanced over the crowd, searching for…
Dark hair.
Blue eyes.
A bright neon pink sign with his name.
Her smile.
He breathed.
“Mari…”
Dingo clapped him on the back and released him.
“If you can’t play for your fans, play for her. You know she’ll always listen…”
“Yeah.” He answered.
What else could he say?
He’d built up his music career over years. For all that she had been busy with her own design house, she had still be there for him every step of the way. Supporting him. Inspiring him.
And now only one of them still knew that.
“Congratulations on the release of your new single!”
Ah.
He winced as the flashing lights hit him.
For all the time he spent on tour, he would never get used to this.
“Thank you.”
He knew better than to respond. It wouldn’t be enough. It was like an avalanche of questions and microphones barreling down on him.
“Mr. Couffaine! How do you feel about your ranking on the Music’s Top Ten?”
“Is there any truth to the rumors that you are doing a collaboration piece with Jagged Stone?”
“Are you really having an illicit affair with XY?”
“Luka Couffaine, you just completed the last stop of your world tour! What are you going to do now?”
Finally, the one question he wanted to answer.
“I have someone to see.”
It had been both a dismissal and an explanation as he took his leave to wait for his ride.
Tomorrow was their anniversary, after all. He’d managed to schedule the end of his tour to give him just enough space to make it back in time to spend it with her.
Marinette was probably already waiting at the airport at this moment.
Or at least…she should have been?
He checked his watch. Was he early? A bit, but not by much…it had been a little last minute for her, though. Maybe she was caught in traffic?
His phone rang. Was that her?
“Hello?”
“…”
“…”
“…what?”
He winced and turned away, trying to fight back the burning in his eyes.
Maybe she saw his reaction because she went silent as well. The tension of the room heightened, near to the point of stifling. For all that he wanted to reach out to her, there was a distance between them that felt…impassible.
He heard her move further into the room. Closer to the kitchen, it sounded like. He listened as something seemed to slide briefly across the countertop, as if she had picked up something for a closer look. Despite his better judgement, his curiosity got the better of him and he turned to see—
It had been hell. The date. The entire day. Hell. To the point he was convinced that some higher powers were giving a sign that this relationship wasn’t meant to be.
Except it wasn’t a sign, it was a fucking billboard.
He’d had it all planned out. Picking her up in his new car. They would have dinner together, followed by a movie, coffee and dessert at a nice little cafe he’d heard good things about, then a stroll by the Seine.
Except whatever higher power up there hated him, apparently.
First the car—the brand new (okay, only slightly used) car he’d recently purchased wouldn’t start, so he’d had to ride his bike to reach her. This meant the restaurant was a no go, meaning his reservation that he’d put in a good month in advance went to waste. Marinette had suggested they just walk to the movie which he was fine with, except that it started raining and the theater in question suffered a power outage. Desperately trying to salvage the night, he’d led her to the cafe anyway only to find they had apparently gone out of business the day before.
Luka was…done. He was just done. He’d apologized profusely and tried to call a cab for her before he’d walk home in the rain so he could scream into his pillow.
Suffice to say, he was pretty sure the date was a bust. And would likely be the first and last he’d ever get with her.
But while he’d been on the phone discovering that traffic was backed up and even THAT much of the night wasn’t going to go right either, Marinette had noticed a little souvenir kiosk under an awning nearby. He hadn’t known what specifically had caught her eye, but when she returned, it was with a thermos of tea she had brought from home and two little mugs she’d just purchased—both with their own different engravings.
She passed the "I AM WEIRD" cup to him. Was…was this a joke? Was she saying something?
He wasn't sure what it was until he saw her blushing as she sipped from her own cup, clearly displaying the engraving of "I LOVE WIERD".
The night went wrong in so many ways. But there…huddling from the rain under the storefront tarp, sitting next to her...he felt warmer than the hot tea could have been responsible for.
She held the “I LOVE WEIRD” cup gingerly, staring at the porcelain as if it could tell her its secrets. But when nothing could be found, she set it back at its previous place and continued on.
Marinette’s gaze had moved on to the next item of interest. She peered into the various photographs lining the top of the nearby shelf. Each contained images of a young couple. A man with teal hair and a lip ring along with a woman with dark blue hair and earrings. The pictures varied—them hugging while bundled up in the winter season, him picking her up and her holding him tightly for balance, them dancing at an outdoor festival, them making silly faces in a photobooth. Each one of them smiling.
One that kept her attention, however, had the man in a tuxedo and the woman in a stunning floor length dress. It was white with an illusion neckline, and bore the images of petals. But the truly striking feature was the airbrushed effect at the bottom of the dress as it changed from white to vibrant teal and finally to black—a clear match to the hair of the man standing beside her.
It was a wedding.
She had said he inspired her dress. That she had made it with him in mind. He had believed her, of course. He never needed her to prove she loved him.
But oh, how his heart had sung seeing her like that. In his colors. Showing the world whom she belonged with.
He had barely heard anything the priest had said. He had to have stumbled in his vows at least twice. He was torn between burning to touch her and yet not wanting to dare to—that something so beautiful shouldn’t be touched.
He would never forget the way she had reached out for him instead and held his hands with hers as she said she wanted to start a life with him.
She picked up the picture.
“It’s beautiful.”
It’s her.
“It’s beautiful. And I can’t…I don’t…”
Like gravity had failed her, she collapsed rather than sat onto the sofa—
That ugly, ugly leather sofa that Jagged had insisted they take with them from Marinette’s brief stint as his personal designer.
“No, you keep it, Mari. You’re gonna need something to spruce up your new place.”
“Jagged, seriously. That thing is hideous and I don’t need it.”
“What are you talking about? It’s perfect! It’s leather! And sturdy! And you can even pull it out into more of a bed. Besides, who knows when you’ll be bringing a studly young man to your place and need something to ‘rock it’ in, eh?”
“Oh my god, Jagged, please don’t!”
“Ey, Luka! Come on, mi boy, back me up!”
“Luka, don’t you dare—!”
Luka, for his part, kept his focus on cleaning his equipment and wisely said nothing.
He moved to her side without thinking.
“Mari…”
“What…” She looked up at him, hopelessly lost. “What now? What do…we do?”
She held the picture frame to her, as if trying to fill the hole in her heart that once contained years worth of love.
“I don’t know what…I don’t know how to…”
She sobbed.
If the phone call had shattered his world, this had crushed the remaining pieces.
“What…what are you saying?”
The doctor sighed.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Couffaine. But the damage of the crash and the shock of the incident has led to some trauma. We are running tests, but there is no way to tell just how great the extent is or how long it will last.”
He barely heard the words for what they were. Percentages. Chances. Outcomes. Luck.
She’d always beaten the odds before, hadn’t she?
She could…
Surely, she could…
He barely noticed when the doctor had led him to the white—white, white horrible white room.
And the all too pale and shaken woman resting inside.
“Who are you?”
It was her eyes.
Her beautiful blue eyes.
But not a trace of familiarity.
“Hello, Marinette.”
He smiled, trying to not let tears fall.
“My name is Luka…”
He slowly moved to sit beside her, taking his wife into his arms like he always did.
It…wasn’t the same.
"It'll be okay..."
Throughout his life, Luka had always been a river. Slow. Steady. Constantly cutting a path through life and through the world.
Luka was a river.
But for Marinette, he had been her rock.
“We’ll make new ones.” He promised her.
Day by day. Moment by moment. He would stay with her and make new memories.
It wouldn’t replace what was lost.
But they would make it together.

You Saved Me - Derek Hale x fem!reader part 28
----------
By the time we got back to the Stilinski house, Nicholas was awake. Uncle Noah had been sitting with him at the kitchen table for breakfast when we walked in. When he saw us, Nicholas scrambled down from his chair and onto Uncle Noah’s lap, hiding his face in his shoulder. I looked back at Derek, seeing that he looked disappointed.
“It’s okay. I’ll talk to him.” I said softly. He nodded, smiling sadly. I walked over to the two, taking Nicholas upstairs into my room and sitting with him on the bed.
“Mommy,” Nicholas looked up at me with his large green eyes, “Why is the bad man here?”
“Well, sweetie, he’s not a bad man. He just did a bad thing yesterday by scaring you. He came to apologize.” I wanted to give Derek the opportunity to explain himself. Hopefully in a way that Nicholas would understand.
He still didn’t look convinced, hugging his little wolf plush tight.
“Nico...” I kissed his forehead, “Mommy is going to be right there besides you the entire time. I promise you that he isn’t going to hurt anyone. He’s not going to hurt grandpa or Uncle Stiles or Uncle Scott.” I intentionally left Michael out. I wasn’t too convinced that he wouldn’t hurt Michael. “I have known him for a very, very long time. Longer than Uncle Stiles.”
“Really?” He asked.
I nodded, “Really.” I paused, “He used to have a big, big family. But they all got taken away. So, he has a lot of anger built up and sometimes that comes out in bad ways, but he doesn’t mean to and he didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Who took his family?”
“A really bad lady.” I stood up, setting him down on his feet, “He apologized to me and he wants to apologize to you. Is that okay?”
Nicholas blew air out through his nose and hummed as he thought about it. He hugged Puppy dog tight to his chest and looked up at me, “Okay, mommy.”
“Thank you.” I held out my hand to him, “You ready?”
He took my hand, “I can do it. I’m brave.” I grinned brightly at him, walking with him down the stairs and into the living room where we found Derek sitting on the couch.
DEREK
To say that Derek was nervous would be an understatement. He was a wreck. He had gone over in his head multiple times how he would talk to his son. A few of those situations involved him flying to Scotland and stealing both of them away from the Lunar Circle. Well, less them and more Michael. He hated that Michael was living with them, playing family when he knew that Derek couldn’t be there.
After (Y/N) went upstairs with Nicholas, Scott and the Stilinski’s had gone outside to give them some privacy. Michael stood in the corner of the living room, arms crossed over his chest and staring him down.
Derek sat on the couch, cracking his knuckles, bouncing his leg at an unmeasurable rate. He hadn’t felt this vulnerable in a long time, not because of the ass-hate in the corner of the room. If that little boy, his little boy, didn’t like him? Well, what was he going to do? His dream for (Y/N) and himself was to have a family, he had known this since he saw her again.
2011
After finding Laura, he knew there was a new alpha in the area. His first thoughts went to revenge. New alphas were just as weak as a beta like him... or omega now. The deer that had brought both of them back to Beacon Hills had been found in the woods outside near the apartments at the edge of town. He had been waiting there since the early morning, hoping to find something. He had searched the woods and found nothing. Now, he was standing in the parking lot of the building, thinking over and over again about finding Laura. He should have come with her, she shouldn’t have come alone. He should have insisted. But she told him she would be fine. Nothing was fine.
The worst part of this situation was that he could still smell the smoke coming from the (Y/L/N) house. He had driven by on his way to the woods and it made his stomach lurch. Kate got what she wanted, all of the werewolves out of Beacon Hills. He hated (Y/D/N), he hated him from taking his best friend away. And because of Kate, he lost his whole world. He didn’t even get a chance to see (Y/N) again. He’d never see her again except for a picture in the obituary.
He shoved his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket and leaned against the passenger door of the Camaro.
“HELP! HELP ME!” He heard the shout coming from behind him, accompanied by two sets of hurried footsteps. He turned quickly and his heart almost stopped. He tried to keep expression neutral but his heart was beating rapidly.
It was (Y/N). She was alive. Behind her was Michael, chasing her with a knife.
“Help!” She shouted as she crashed into his body. She looked up at him with those beautiful (Y/E/C) eyes. There seemed to be a spark of recognition, but nothing like before. She still couldn’t remember.
“Please help me.” (Y/N) gripped tightly onto the lapel of his jacket, “Please.”
In that moment he had a vision of what the future could be. Both of them together. Smiling and laughing like they used to. Holding hands. Kissing. Starting a family. The last image was her smiling face, triskeles in her eyes.
Derek didn’t know what his future with (Y/N) would look like, he wanted to be with her, he loved her too much. But at this moment, Nicholas was the only one he had on his mind. Today was going to be life changing. He was either going to be a father or his son could reject him.
Derek stood up quickly when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He hoped that he could somehow word what he needed to say in a way the four year old would understand.
Then in walked the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Nicholas was walking hand in hand with (Y/N) into the living room. He looked... like Derek. His knees gave out, taking him to the floor to be at eye level with his son.
“He’s so beautiful.” Derek whispered. (Y/N) grinned, stopping a few feet in front of him and coming around to kneel beside him. Derek could feel tears welling up in his eyes. He was... Perfect. From his dark hair to his nose and little toes.
“If you get nervous, just look at me.” (Y/N) said softly, “I’m right here.” Nicholas nodded and looked straight into Derek’s eyes, right into his soul.
(Y/N) put a hand on his shoulder, breaking him away from his trance. He sniffled and wiped his eyes quickly.
“Introduce yourself.” She nudged him with her elbow.
“Uh, yeah.” He smiled, “Hi Nicholas.” He swallowed thickly, “My name’s Derek. Derek Hale.” He held his hand out.
His son glanced at his mother before reaching out and taking Derek’s outstretched hand and shaking it, “I’m Nicholas Hale.”
“It’s nice to finally meet you.” Derek hesitantly pulled his hand away and motioned to the wolf plush in Nicholas’ hand. The little wolf plush that he had sent all the years ago, he still had it, “Ya know, I sent that to your mama to give you.”
“You did?” His eyes widened. Derek had just now noticed that he had a little accent, probably from his upbringing across the pond.
“I did. What’s their name?”
Nicholas held up the toy for Derek to look at, “His name is Puppy dog. He’s a Lunar Circle wolf with Lachlan and Mikey. He eats bad guys.”
“Oh wow. Little tough guy, like you.”
Nicholas looked down towards the floor, shifting on his feet, “He almost ate you last night.”
“I...” Derek sighed, shaking his head at his behavior from yesterday, “You’re right. I was being a bad guy last night. I shouldn’t have been fighting your mama. It’s just that...” How was he going to explain this?
Thankfully, (Y/N) spoke up, “What he’s trying to say, sweetie, is that Derek wanted to see you so badly that no one could get in his way. And that got to his head too much.” She reached out, running her fingers through Derek’s hair.
“Why?”
"Well, Nicholas, because... Because I'm your father." It was out. He looked a little confused honestly.
“Derek and I are mates, like you learned about in daycare.” He nodded along to his mother’s words, “And we loved each other so much that we wanted to have the perfect little boy.” She poked his stomach causing him to giggle.
“How come I never got to see you?” He asked, “All I had were mama’s pictures.”
“That’s because I was here, taking care of all the bad monsters so that it would be safe for you to come home.” Derek glanced at Michael, “And whenever I tried to call, there was no connection.”
“Oh...” Nicholas looked between, “What should I call you?”
“You...” Derek cleared his throat, “You can call me anything you like.”
Nicholas grinned, “Sour Wolf!” He giggled. Derek’s jaw tightened. From outside he heard Stiles laughing. He’ll get him later. He could hear (Y/N) snort, but keeping a straight face.
"Maybe a different name." Derek said, giving his son a soft smile.
"Uh..." He hugged the wolf tighter, "Daddy."
"Yeah," His voice cracked, "That sounds good."
Nicholas smiled, strapping forward and wrapping his arms around Derek's neck, hugging him tight. He felt like the air had been taken from his lungs. He slowly wrapped his arms around the little boy, swaying back and forth. He glanced at (Y/N), seeing tears making paths down her cheeks to reach her smile.
Derek reached out, adding her into their first hug as a family. His family.
-
(Y/N)
For the most part, Nicholas took it very easily. It was a smooth transition for him. Probably because he's just a little kid. But the hardest thing for me to comprehend was what Derek was asking me at the moment.
"So would that be okay?" He asked.
I shook my head, "Let me get this straight. You want to take Nicholas to meet Cora and Scott and whoever else is in the new pack who I certainly haven't met in person. Skyping is a poor sense of character."
"And Peter."
"And whom?" I asked as if I didn't know who his psycho uncle was.
“I want him to meet him and Malia."
"Why? Why would I want my-our," I corrected myself when he got the grumpy look on his face, "Our child to be exposed to the same man who tried to Jafar me."
His eyes narrowed, "What's a Jafar?"
"Remind me to make you watch Disney movies with your child. Gonna have to get used to it. A lot of Disney movies out there, he’s seen almost all of them." I walked out of the laundry room where I had been folding laundry before I was interrupted by Derek asking me to take Nicholas on a day trip. Yesterday had been about father-son bonding, taking him to the park, getting ice cream, playing games. Today he wanted to introduce the whole family.
"And it's not like he doesn't know who they are.” I added, “He knows Uncle Scott and Aunt Cora and Aunt Malia and Uncle and Aunt whoever else."
"Are you telling me that he's met his family before he met me?" He somehow managed to get in front of me. He's really pushing the boundaries and the alpha instincts were telling me to beat his ass. But I didn't, that was rude.
"They answered the Skype calls, Derek. You weren’t able to." I walked into the kitchen and started making breakfast for Nicholas. He was probably still sleeping after staying up passed his bedtime with Derek. I would have usually been pissed but seeing them together was enough to make me melt. I got the eggs and bacon out of the fridge and watched him lean on the threshold of the kitchen and shove his hands in his pockets out of the corner of my eye.
“They never tried to defend me?" He asked. I put down food and walked over to him, cupping his scruffy cheek in my hand.
“They did, Der-Bear. I just didn’t believe them." I patted his cheek and turned back to the food. He scoffed and walked up behind me, turning me quickly and picking me up and setting me down on the counter next to the stove.
“Excuse you, sir.” I poked his nose, then, just like always, I got lost in his eyes. Derek always had this way about him that if he just looked at me, I would be memorized for who knows how long. And he knew it too. He was smiling softly, like all the years of heartache and pain were over and he was back to the boy I remembered. Kind, shy, soft.
“Been a while since you called me Der-Bear."
"Been a while since I was twelve, Der-Bear." He grinned, his eyes sparkling. He slowly slid his hand behind my neck and pulled my head forward for our forehead touched ever so slightly.
"This brings me back..." I whispered softly, sliding my hands behind his neck and lacing my fingers in his hair.
"Yeah, it does." He hummed and leaned forward.
"Mommy. Daddy." We both jolted a part and looked for the little voice. We found it at about three and a half feet tall and wearing dinosaur footie pajamas."
“Well hello, sleepy head." Derek bent down and took the boy into his arms, "Mama and I were making you breakfast."
He looked at us both skeptically, "It looks like-"
"A really intense staring contest, sugar." I combed his hair out of his eyes, "And mama won."
Derek rolled his eyes, then he smirked, "Hey Nico, after breakfast, you wanna go see the Pack?" Nicholas gasped, his eyes sparkling. He had been intrigued by a pack since he was told what it was. He talked about how excited he was to run with his own pack someday, even if he hadn’t turned yet.
“Yes! Can we go, Momma? Pwease!?" He laced his little hands together, begging. Derek knew I couldn't say no to him, not when it came to pwease.
"Fine. But I'm going to." Nicholas raised his arms in the air and cheered.
"Thank you!" He grinned with his little baby teeth.
"Yeah, thank you mama." Derek said, setting the boy down on his feet, "Now go wash your face and hands before breakfast." He said, utterly surprising me with how he just parented. I... I had imagined him with our kids before but... I don't know, it was weird seeing him this gentle.
“I think I like parent Derek.”
Derek smirked as he took the bacon and got a pan out from the cupboard, starting to cook the bacon. In that moment, I realized that seeing him like this did make me love him again, just as much as I loved him when I saw him alive on that hilltop all those years ago. Domestic father Derek was the Derek I never expected, but couldn’t live without. But this was just regular Derek. He wasn't afraid right now, he wasn't being hunted. He was just at home making breakfast for his family. He had a family and that's all he's ever wanted.
"You alright?" He asked, seeing that I was just staring at him with two eggs in my hands.
“Yeah, I just love you a lot.”
Derek leaned over, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek, “I love you.”
"Breakfast!" Derek's loud booming voice called through the house. And down the stairs came Nicholas with his wolf toy in hand, Michael, Uncle Noah, and Stiles. Derek and I had set the table like a cute couple does and were starting to serve out food to the family. Then of course, everything had to be ruined.
I sat down in a chair next to Nicholas, whose face was clean and so were his hands, with an empty chair next to me that Derek took. Michael looked like there should have been smoke coming out of his ears.
"Hey, Derek, why don't you trade with me?" He said calmly from across the table. Uncle Noah just started eating his food, trying to ignore the tension as best as he could with eggs.
Derek, being Derek, grinned and took his silverware in both hands, "I'm alright."
"I really think you should move, Mutt." He spat the word. That's when I stepped in, I knew Derek was being a little shit right now, but there was no need for that kind of language, especially in front of a four year old.
“There will be no use of that word at this table and if you would like to sleep here tonight, I suggest that you stop talking." The rest of breakfast went without incident, until Uncle Noah and Stiles had left the table. Uncle Noah headed off to work and Stiles went outside to avoid the situation.
"Why do you keep sticking up for him?" Michael asked. I sighed and looked at Nicholas, he was putting his last forkful of scrambled eggs in his mouth.
"Hey honey?” He looked up at me, chewing, “Why don't you ask Uncle Stiles to play soccer with you?"
"What's soccer?" He tilted his head to the side.
"Football, honey.” Forgetting briefly that he had been raised in Europe, “The American football is like rugby, they call football soccer here."
"Oh, okay, mama." He hopped down from his little chair and out the front door.
Once he was gone, Michael spoke again, "You keep standing up for him and I won't have it. We've talked about this so many times, darlin. How am I supposed to just sit by with him nudging his way into our lives? Lives where we were perfectly fine without this mangy mutt and his family." He stood up and glared down at us both. Derek stood and was prepared to say anything and maybe do anything, but I stopped him by putting a hand on his forearm.
"Sit." I ordered. Derek sat. I took his place standing and inhaled, ready to give a harsh blow.
"You can't control who I chose to side with. Frankly, I’m not choosing a side at all. You also can't control who my family is, because it's mine and mine alone. Derek is my mate and he is the father of my child and you need to learn how to respect that. Do not ever get so self righteous with me. We aren't together, Michael, we haven't been since high school and I refuse to be treated like some little housewife. I am not a housewife, I am an alpha werewolf and I will be treated with such respect." I refused to look in his eyes, instead looking at the bridge of his nose which had started to scrunch up in anger.
“What about, Nicholas, huh? What about him? What's he gonna say when he sees his mother and this new person acting closer than us?"
"He's a smart boy, he’ll understand. And if he doesn't then he can talk to me, his mother. Because it seems like the other mature adult in his life is having a temper tantrum over a girl."
"You're not just some girl, (Y/N). You're min-"
"I belong to no one!" I barked, "I am no one's girl or wife or thing. I am my own person, I belong to me." I stood up and looked at Derek, "Come on, let's bring our son to meet his family." I grabbed Derek's hand and practically dragged him outside. Stiles was in the front yard, passing a soccer ball to Nicholas.
“Nico, honey, let's go." Nicholas, whose little cheeks were so red from running around in the cold weather, nodded and grinned.
“Crap, I forgot," I whispered, remembering that I forgot his coat inside, not really wanting to go back in to get it.
"Don't worry, dad's got it." Derek walked past me with Puppy dog and jacket in hand. Nicholas ran up to him and held his arms out as Derek helped him put on his jacket, he insisted that he do the zipper by himself.
"Is Mikey comin'?" He asked, looking back at me, hugging Puppy dog tightly to his chest.
"No, he's busy doing Lunar Circle stuff." I lied. Derek smiled at me, knowing that he was winning between him and Michael, took Nicholas into his arms.
“Hey, buddy, let's get in the Camaro." They both cheered and walked towards Derek's car.
Stiles walked up next to me, hands on his hips, "Is everything alright?"
"Probably not." I said before giving him a weak smile, then I looked towards the boys, "There better be a booster seat in that car, Derek Hale!"
MICHAEL
"Hello, thank you for calling Praetor McLeod’s office, how can I direct you?" The receptionist’s chipper voice crackled over the line. Michael gripped onto his phone, grinding his teeth together.
"Hello?" She asked.
"Put him on, Shawna." From the tone in his phone, she let out a small yelp and switched the lines.
"McLeod speaking." Lachlan’s voice boomed over the phone.
"I got him." He growled.
"Michael, is that you?"
"I got Derek Hale. He's living at the Stilinski house."
“Michael, he isn’t a person of interest. Hale hasn't caused any trouble in the last five years." He said calmly, but Michael wouldn't be deterred. And he didn't mind lying either.
“He kidnapped (Y/N) and Nicholas. He took them, he's claiming that Nicholas is his son and he took (Y/N) hostage."
"So you're saying a beta took an alpha and her son hostage?" He sounded bored.
“Lachlan! I'm not screwing around, he's crazy!" He tried to put his point across, "He's a bloodthirsty monster and he took my son!"
"Listen, you're not thinking clearly. I know what this is about, you’re jealous that Nicholas is with his father after you’ve had that role. And from (Y/N)’s report, Derek has been fine, it's you who’s been acting differently. Now you better start acting like a man and get your act together before I have to do something drastic." He said sternly and hung up. Michael slowly took the phone from his ear and gripped it hard. The glass shattered, digging into his hand.
Well, if the Praetor won't do anything... And (Y/N) won't do anything. Then it looks like he was going to have to take matters into his own hands.
