Old dog
Daryl Dixon x reader | SMUT🔞
Daryl is never been watched with such interest before, and it grabs his attention. But he feels like he got his order of actions wrong..
The Kingdom was a strange place.
First there was the King, with his pet tiger.
The King spoke in a strange manner, and his ever so friendly right hand too.
The Queen was a kind woman, she had shown you around and given you a roof over your head after you wandered into her lands.
The Kingdom had guards on horseback, and all its residents referred to their leader as the King.
Like a true old age Kingdom.
It was near summer when you arrived and took some time to get settled, now having your routine all worked out and were a happy new addition to the bakery.
While it meant crazy early mornings, it brought many people a good start of their day. You made your delivery rounds as the first people got up to tend to the gardens before the sun got too hot, passing then with a kind smile and a good morning wish on your way to the school building where you'd make your last delivery of the day.
You continued your daily tasks back at the bakery when a returning resident came by.
Each day he'd come by to pick up the same order, so by now it was standard to have it ready by a certain time.
Like clockwork he showed up, the gorgeous older man with his grey streaked hair that framed his bearded face oh so perfect.
You always wondered about the scar that sat around one of his sea blue eyes, but you never found the courage to ask.
You only knew his first name because the baker mentioned it once.
Daryl.
With rough, scarred hands he accepted the packaged food but remained in his spot.
"M'sorry, ya don't happen ta have sun leftovers, do ya? 'M headin' out fer a couple days 'n could use some extras." A little stunned by the sudden change in routine had you stammer a response neither of you could make out before you disappeared further into the back.
To your luck a fresh batch was just taken out of the oven, so you quickly grabbed a few buns and put them in a tea towel before moving back to the front.
"Here you go, fresh out of the oven." You smiled nervously as you held out the makeshift pouch, almost freezing as the calloused pads of his fingers brushed your skin while taking the bread from you.
With a charming as ever thanks he made his way out the door.
After the third time preparing the order for Daryl, who wasn't in town to come pick it up you were told to go take a day or two off, relax and go try and catch him come back home later during the day.
On your delivery routes and walks around the community you had caught wind of some kind of guard dog. You'd pick it up from time to time but today had been much more frequent.
You wondered what they meant. Maybe you'd ask Carol about it later.
The Kingdom was a nice place.
Each day there would be someone in the community's centre, playing some kind of instruments. Alone or in a group, it varied, but it was always nice to enjoy when you could.
You were enjoying it for so long you barely noticed the sun starting to set and Carol finding you. "Couldn't catch you at the bakery today, was told you were given the day off."
She came to sit beside you, enjoying the music and sharing a small snack she brought with you.
After a short while she got up, turning to you and offering a hand. "Come, we're gonna see something. If I have to believe the baker's words you're gonna love it."
Carol's words confused you, the thought of the baker casually talking about you with her wasn't really a happy one. Yet you followed her every step as she made her way to the front gates of the Kingdom.
"We're heading out? Without weapons or gear?" There was nothing around for you to see, confusion rising even more and edging on annoyance. Why wouldn't she just way where you were going?
You stood and watched as as she bounced on her heels with her arms behind her back. She was being all giddy about something and your mind could not come up with what on earth it could be.
Option after option ran through your mind until the guards spoke and the gates started to open.
Carol passed you a smile and raised her brows as she nudged her head towards the gate before turning back to watch.
You took a step closer to see what she was on about, and within the reach of your first step a figure came into view between the large gate doors.
"Holy shit." You stood frozen, much like those few days ago when Daryl suddenly asked for additions to his bakery order.
Despite the distance between the two of you and the low volume of your words, it looked like he heard you and gave you a smile and a small wave.
The scene before you became crazier by the second, on his shoulders a large deer that he carried without any visible strain but that wasn't all. Tied to his waist with a thick belt he lugged a tarp stacked with different hunted animals.
But something else felt off, beside the show of inhuman strength he seemed to possess.
Out from underneath his hair poked an ear, like it did sometimes before as well, although they seemed.. pointed?
His smile as well. You had seen the stubby pointed canines he had, but there were loads of people who had those slightly longer than average. Why did they look bigger now, accompanied with a similar set on his bottom teeth that surely weren't there before.
Also, was he fuzzier than normal? It was all hard to see in the dim light. It could just have been dirt stuck on his skin from being out in the woods so long. Surely he didn't bother cleaning up out there.
All the while Daryl dragged his game inside and stopped to report to Carol, glancing your way every so often as he could feel the energy radiating off you. He was enjoying the way you stared at him with confusion that slowly morphed into something he almost wanted to categorize as adoration.
It wasn't often Daryl got that look from anyone, so to say he was suddenly more intrigued by the baker woman was an understatement.
"Hey," Daryl's voice pulled you from your thoughts, staring at him without a single word running through your mind. "Wanna help unload all'a this at the butcher?"
A silent nod was all you managed as you followed him, hearing Carol say something but not entirely registering her words.
It was the next day when you saw him outside of his usual routine yet again, before the time of his usual pickup. The early summer sun was up when you made your rounds, and so was Daryl.
Across the street from the butcher’s place was a small area that used to be a children’s playground where you caught him doing pull-ups, flannel hanging open over his torso that you secretly expected to be way more toned, but instead you saw lightly furred soft flesh.
He hadn’t noticed you as you moved past to the butcher’s doorstep where you’d leave her order, quietly mumbling to yourself as you stared at Daryl again. “Lords, I want that man to fold me like a lawn chair..” You were so lost in the view of him pulling up his full weight with just one arm, his legs crossed under him, that you didn’t hear the butcher arrive until she pat you on the shoulder. “I may not be into men, but even I can see the appeal of that old dog bending me over the nearest surface.”
The sudden contact made you squeak and jump away, only to be laughed at as you stumbled over your words before running along on your delivery route.
It was only a couple of seconds after you were out of earshot that Daryl appeared on the butcher's steps, shoulders shaking as he softly laughed at the interaction he heard all too well just a moment ago. "Yer horrible, ya know tha'?" He bumped her shoulder aa he walked past her, into the shop to start working on all the kills he brought back the day before.
The butcher let out a breath through her nose. "And you love me for it, mutt." Behind her she closed the door and flipped off the hunter, sticking out her tongue behind his back. "'Course I love ya, ya crazy knife wieldin' hag."
The rest of the day after running off at the butcher went fairly normal, Daryl picked up his order and you cleaned the place alone with the baker having to leave early for a meeting.
It was only when you closed up shop for the day that it got weird. Daryl stood outside, seemingly waiting with his arms crossed under short sleeves so tight you wondered how they hadn't cut off circulation yet.
Without missing a beat he pushed himself off the wall and stepped beside you. "C'mon. Wanna show ya som'n." His gruff voice could tell you to eat dirt and you'd do it so naturally you followed suit, walking around the community until you reached the homes placed at the far end, right at the forest wall.
You took in the beat up old truck with the hood popped and one wheel missing, and next to it inside the garage with the missing door a bike that looked like it was made over years of collecting parts. Was this his home?
You followed him inside the garage, the door in the back opening and leading into a small kitchen littered with tools and materials. The tea towel you gave him the bread in laid neatly folded on the corner of the messy table, not a single grease or oil covered item near it.
In the moment of distraction Daryl's hand landed on your hip as he scooted past you in the narrow space between the counter and the table, his crotch brushing your ass in the process.
He felt you become rigid at his touch and apologized. "Sorry, doll. Place ain't made fer two."
His hand remained in its place, squeezing as he apoligized making you want to just give in to your haunting daydreams and let him take you right then and there.
"So, what did you wanna show me again?" You were fidgeting, trying to calm your nerves with Daryl so close.
"S' upstairs. Sum ol' items ya can dig through. See if ya wan' sum." With a hand placed on your hip he led you upstairs, steering you around the corner and through one of the doors, ending with your knees pressed against a bed.
Before you had a chance to ask anything one of Daryl's hands came around your front, resting on your lower belly as the other one snuck around your chest. "How 'bout ya be a good girl fer me an' lemme fold ya like a lawn chair." His beard drug across your skin as he came to bite your earlobe. "Tha's what ya want, righ'? Got all hot 'n bothered when the butcher mentioned me bendin 'er over the counter.." with one hand sneaking under your waistband and the other softly squeezing your breast he had you whimpering.
"S'fine, righ'?" His hands stilled at your silence. "Words, doll. Ain' gon do anythin' unless ya give me an okay." His hands moved to cafefully turn you around to look you in the eye, but you quickly buried your face in his chest, hands against him as well and all your body wanted was to squeeze.
Squeeze your fingers into his plump, soft chest. Squeeze your thighs together for some desparately needed friction.
You softly nodded, murmuring something Daryl couldn't make out.
"Need ta hear ya." Daryl softly caressed your shoulder, moving to tilt your head up so you'd look at him.
Your eyes scanned his face, soft and gentle. Eyes glistening a bright blue between the thick, red scarred line that cut right through an eyebrow. Your eyes wandered to his lips, partially hidden by the grey scruff that occupied the lower half of his face as you breathed. "I want this."
With your eyes on his lips you saw his concerned look change into a wicked grin that showed his pointed canines.
In a split second after that you were thrown onto the bed and caged between Daryl's limbs, his face buried in your neck as he nipped and sucked at your skin.
"Go on." He whispered. "Take 'em off. I know ya wan' it." Daryl was on his way to the hem of your shirt already as you slowly worked your hands towards the buttons of of his flannel, undoing them with trembling fingers, focus drifting away with every drag of his teeth across your flesh.
With some assistance your top halves were soon bare. Daryl's hands on your soft chest, tongue all over them as he sucked bruises to the underside.
Your fingers found his hair, pulling at the strands in pleasure as the others traced every scar on Daryl's body. From the small puncture wounds to the large gashes on his back, you caressed each one of them.
Letting out short, panted breaths your body burned wherever Daryl's fingers trailed, the rough pads leaving a path of tingling flesh from your chest down to your side, his tongue following down your body between where his hands had gone.
With the descent of his body his scarred frame moved out of reach, placing both hands in his hair and tugging as his teeth dug into your skin, earning a growl that sounded from deep in his chest.
With newfound interest you pulled again, your nails scratching his scalp in the process as your hips rolled up against his torso.
The low, scratchy moan that left him rumbled against your hip and had him quickly slide his hands down your hips. With no effort you felt your hips rise as two strong hands grabbed your ass and fabric slide off your body. Both your loose trousers and panties were shoved down the rounds of your hips as they lifted off the bed, the fabric pulled off your legs before your knees ended on both sides of your chest and Daryl's teeth were back just below your bellybutton where the meat of your folded torso met in perfect, bite-sized rolls.
You watched him litter your stomach in marks, clamping his jaw onto your thighs to color your skin in where only he could admire them.
"Daryl, please.."
Your voice had him lock eyes with you from where he sat between your legs and watched your pleading gaze with a soft nod before leaning back down and licking a broad stripe over the back of your thigh, moving to delve his tongue right into your centre.
Your moans of his name added fuel to the already raging fire, parting your lips with his tongue and drinking up all of your sweetness. With each stroke against your clit your walls clenched around nothing, muscles tensing but your body laying unmoved under Daryl's strong grip.
You squirm, hands finding his on your thighs as you whine and mewl, signaling you being close to finishing.
"Such pretty sounds, all fer me.." Daryl speaks against your clit before wrapping his lips around it once more and teasing you, making you hold back your own thigh so his fingers could join his mouth, stuffing two down your entrance with ease as he kept licking and sucking in tandem with the curls of his digits.
Your sounds increase in volume with Daryl's ministrations, crying out at your peak, clenching your walls tightly around his fingers as you finished.
"'Ere, lemme stretch those legs fer ya." With gentle hands he laid your legs flat against the bed on either side of him, allowing the blood flow to return while you came down from your high.
You watched him with hazy eyes, on his knees between your legs tugging at the button and zipper of his black jeans. Beneath the oh so inviting trail of dark hair he lowered the layers still on him to reveal his thick, hard cock.
Your view was close to perfection, a gorgeous old man between your spread legs. The lines of his body like rings on a tree, showing signs of age and survival. From the scar at his collarbone, at the edge of the soft dusting of chest hair down to his thick strong legs he was removing his clothes from he was like a piece of art for you to admire as you desired.
And gods, you desired him.
"Ya look like ya wanna eat me alive." He looked down at you, one hand running through his hair while the other slowly stroked his cock.
You licking your lips as you stared at his impressive length was all he needed to ler himself fall forward and catch himself right before he'd make contact with you, calmly catching your lips in a deep kiss. With your tongue against his lips you asked for more and he obliged almost immediately, parting his lips and swiping his tongue against yours, lips moulding together in percect harmony until you desperately needed air.
Your hand lingered on the side of his head, thumb caressing the scar around his eye.
"What's the story on this one?" Daryl couldn't get enough of that look on your face. The one filled with curiosity, not a speck of fear or disgust on you.
"Old girlfrien' decided she didn' like me no more." He averted your gaze as he remembered the fight in the cabin back then, and the serrated edge of the knife catching the skin of his face. He deliberately left out the terms his then lover called him as she chased him out the door with a shotgun. That was a tale for another time.
Right now all he wanted was to ravish the woman underneath him.
The setting sun caught his eyes and for a fraction of a second they seemed to glow, icy blue in a sea of black. When they looked back at you it was gone, a pair of normal blue eyes looking at you.
He shook off the memories and brought his focus back to the now, to you underneath him, the scent of your arousal, and his painfully hard cock.
Daryl adjusted his position, his length rubbing your folds in the process earning a soft moan from you.
"Gonna make more o'them pretty noises fer me, doll?" His hand reached for his member and rubbed the tip between your folds, spreading your wetness around, listening to your soft mutters of "yes" and "please".
Daryl needed no more convincing, nuzzling your noses together before kissing you deeply as he slowly inches himself inside of you. The initial stretch hurt and you couldn't help but groan into the kiss at how big he was. His cock was way girthier than just two fingers, and it had been years since your last time before this.
Daryl's hand moved down your body, slowly rubbing your clit to distract from the stretch. His kisses deepened, your tongue sliding past his teeth, feeling around his fangs with fascination.
A soft whimper sounded from you as he bottomed out, making him halt a moment to let you adjust. "Ya tell me when yer good, 'kay?"
You nodded and answered a soft "uhuh." and a bit later, after a few experimental squeezes you told him you were good.
With his hand still on your hip Daryl carefully pulled back and slid inside at a slow and steady pace, letting you get used to him for a few thrusts until your heels came up to dig in his rear.
"Hmhm, eager are we?" Daryl grinned against your neck, taking the hint and quickening his pace. His hands had your hips in a bruising grasp, his hips snapping against yours earning soft gasps on each impact.
"H.. hah.. ah Daryl fuck--" you were a beautiful piece beneath him, with your head thrown to the side, arm covering your eyes and chest heaving and shaking with each thrust.
"So good, doll. So pretty for me." Daryl was huffing out a laugh, moving his hands off your hips to grab at your lower legs. Deep, short thrusts continued as he moved your legs from around him back to up beside your torso, knees pressed against your shoulders as he fucked into you with your ass up off the matress.
He was so deep all of a sudden it had you see stars, crying out his name aa your orgasm crashed down on you.
You were sweating all over, breaths deep to get enough air and body heavy. With your eyes closed you laid still, getting the air back into your lungs as Daryl teased you by softly rutting into your overly sensitive cunt.
"Don' tell me yer tired already, I haven't even finished yet.." His thrusts changed angles and now brushed your clit, having you mewl out pleas he chose to ignore. "Tha's more like it, music, those sounds o' yers." His thrusts continued, as did your pleas. You didn't even know what you were begging for but the knot in your belly was quickly returning in time with his thrusts getting sloppier, not long after crying out again as you came a few thrusts before je did too.
There were tears rolling down your face, laying limp on the bed. Daryl's hands had let go of your legs again, letting you stretch them for thr short moment before he was fully hard again.
Unexpectedly Daryl flipped you onto your stomach and moving your hips around to his preference.
"Time fer round two?" He wached you nod wit your face in the pillows, moving to slowly press inside you once more and bending down to press soft kisses to your back. Your mind went back to being hazy a few thrusts in with how good his cock felt at this new angle fist gripping at the pillows beneath you that muffled your moans.
His hands were all over your backside, kneading every soft surface he could reach as he continued his steady pace.
Your sounds were like music to his ears, wishing to hear them every night, over and over again until your throat was so soar he had to bring you medicine and nurse you back to health. Your curiosity was already enough to make him want you, never having anyone radiate such a type of energy towards him and it has him hooked. But having you here like this now had him almost addicted, wanting to keep you, claim you but he knew he didn't have the right to do so. He didn't deserve it, for he was sort of still lying to you about large aspects of his life.
But if he could make you feel this good now in this moment, that was all he cared about.
He fucked you from behind until you came once, twice and then moved you onto your side, holding onto one of your legs against his chest as je continued rutting into you, earning two more orgasms from you right before finishing himself for the second time.
As he came down from his high he stared at you, passed out and asleep beneath him. Ever so carefully he moved you so he could lay down as well, pulling you against his chest as he settled to drift off too.
It was morning by the time you woke up, groaning in pain as your legs resisted being moved off the bed. You blinked the sleep from your eyes and shot up off the bed. "Ah, god damn oww.." Your ass hit the matress again, the crunchy layer of dried fluids scratching your thighs.
"Oh for fuck's sake I'm gonna be late!" You stumbled around the place searching for the shower to scrub yourself clean, picking up your shirt off the floor and sniffing it. "Nope, can't wear that. Shit!" You found the bathroom and were vigorously scrubbing your legs and quickly back to digging through all of Daryl's drawers in a panic, trying to find something decent to wear.
"Ya know ya can just ask, right?" You didn't even register what he said and grumbled back at him. "I don't have time, okay? I'm already gonna be late for work and I got nothing to wear because my own clothes stink so I'm gonna have to run home first and be even later."
Face down in a drawer your attention was pulled by a short whistle, and the second you were up and turned towards the noise an entire outfit found your face.
Underwear, socks, simple sweats and a flanel.
"Why do you have a stash of women's clothes?" You were genuinely curious but that didn't stop you from struggling to put on the clothes with your entire body aching. "I don't even know how I'm gonna walk my rounds. Everything hurts.."
You were already dreading today and it had barely even started.
"Need me ta make yer rounds? Got time so I don' mind." Daryl was following you down the stairs now, hands ready to catch you as you stumbled, not wanting you to fall.down the stairs on your wobbly legs.
"No way I'm letting you do my rounds. I don't want the whole community on my neck tomorrow about why I sent you." You were halfway out the door already, walking as fast as possible and waving Daryl off on your not so fast way to work.
You arrived late and got told off for it, but the baker quickly changed his demeanor once he saw you limp. He gave you a quick rundown of what he had planned to do at the bakery and let you stay in as he took over your rounds, which you were very thankful for.
The front door bell rang and Carol appeared, a while after Daryl had dropped by for his usual, and bringing in a bag with your clothes.
"Hey, didn't see you this morning." Carol was as cheery as ever, her hair braided and her smile kind and motherly.
"Yeah," you leaned against the counter, wincing as you moved your weight. "Hurt my leg yesterday, so I'm in here thr whole day now." You tried to shrug it off, not feeling like coming up with a decent enough lie. Not that you needed one anyways.
"Which clearly has nothing to do with you spending the night at Daryl's place?" A knowing smile spread on her face as she looked you up and down, arms crossed over her chest, laughing as she watched your eyes about to pop out of your head in response. "You're wearing my emergency clothes. Looks like we have about the same size."
You felt blessed with today being a quiet day and could clean while you chatted with Carol and closed up shop after, with the baker off again while you ran the bakery.
"There's something wrong with that man." You sighed as you bent down to lock up the garage door, groaning as you came back up. "He's like, what? Almost sixty? And he still held out longer than me. I swear I passed out once before he was done."
Carol was giggling all the way with your bags in her hand. "He's fifty-four, but alright."
"Yeah, okay. That fifty-four year old would have kept going if I hadn't clocked out after lord knows how ma--"
"Five, doll." Daryl's voice suddenly behind you had you jump up and almost fall if it wasn't for his quick response to steady you.
"How the hell are you fine?" Your question was directed at Daryl, but your eyes were on Carol who was having the time of her life seeing you be so confused about her best friend's energy levels.
"There's a lot about Daryl you don't know yet, dear." She winked at her friend, who only grunted in response.
"Oh really? When are you planning on telling me all about yourself? Do I need to cook you a romantic dinner?" Your words came out with way too much excitement, letting out how eager you were to learn about Daryl.
"Ya'll learn eventually. No need ta rush things, righ'?" His voice kept cool, but Carol read his body language like a book and quickly saw he needed help to cross that line. Him scratching the side of his fingers, and obsessively wiping the hair out of his face, eyes looking everywhere but at you. They were all tells, and Carol felt bad for him.
"Why don't you two stay over for dinner? Ezekiel won't make it home in time so I'd be all alone otherwise." Carol quickly set up a plan, making it all seem like coincidence but in her mind she had all the steps figured out already.
"I'd love to stay over, but only if it's not too much effort." Peeking past Daryl you saw her wave your assumption off and assure it was fine.
And thus you three ended up around Carol's nice dinner table in the King's home.
Somehow you expected it to be fancy and pristine, but that would never happen with how selfless the King was.
The food was nice and Carol had gifted you some stronger painkillers she had laying around to ease your body, you all just chatted about your day, and you thought your subtle questions about him were going okay, until Daryl excused himself to go smoke what seemed in a hurry.
"It's okay honey, Daryl has a hard time opening up to people. He needs to find the right moments to talk." Carol gave you a loving shoulder squeeze and pointed you towards the back door where Daryl had just left through.
"He loves the forest, he feels safe there." With a wink she sent you off.
You carefully approached him and settled in the doorframe. "Hey," Your voice was soft as to not startle him. "Wanna go for a walk? Outside the walls."
With a nod he got up and offered you his hand to take, and with a sigh he let a smile come through. "Carol really set us up, didn't she?"
You laughed along with him and decided then you wouldn't push him, and let him talk at his pace.
With your gear gathered the two of you found yourselves walking along the tree line in silence.
"M' sorry." Daryl kept his eyes on the ground where he walked, but with his pinkie he touched yours and hooked them together.
"When Carol brought ya to welcome me back after the huntin' I was confused. But when I felt yer curious stares instead of gettin' negative 'n scared I got.." He fell quiet, his hand pulling away from yours but you quickly grabbed it fully, rubbing your thumb across his knuckles.
But you stayed quiet, and just walked with his hand in yours.
After a long stretch of only hearing the ground crunch under your shoes Daryl stopped.
"S'where I stay when I go out each month." You stood a few feet away from a rock wall, overgrown with green and a small clearing in it. Looking around you there was no way of being seen here from any angle.
You also saw trees with torn off branches and what looked like deep claw marks. "Should'a shown ya 'fore last night."
You looked over at him and made sure he saw you smile. "You really think anything would have changed my mind?" Your hands came up to his face to hold his gaze on you, hoping he'd see the truth in your eyes.
"I know yer not lyin'. Ya haven't lied since we started talkin'." His hand moved to touch the small of your back, the other one gesturing at the overgrown wall. "C'mon."
Daryl had his knife ready as he moved past some hanging vines with your hand in his to keep you close.
The area was void of any dead, except for the picked clean bones covering the ground.
And the seemingly random pile of fabrics and signs of humans staying here.
He let go of your hand and let you wander around, staring at every little thing.
You kneeled down off to the side, getting up to move some vines to let in more light before walking back.
"You stay here?" Your fingers traced the print in the sand, glancing over at Daryl who was slowly stepping closer with calculated steps, like a true huntsman would to not startle an animal.
Quietly he leaned down next to you, and without saying a word moved his hand to the print in the loose sand.
The world went blurry around Daryl's hand as you watched it change. Muscles under the skin warping to reshape as flesh darkened and nails grew, and then fit perfectly into the indentation.
Daryl was hyper aware of everything around him, senses almost overwhelming him as he felt the worms crawl under the earth and heard the birds fly over outside. But even with his senses running on overdrive he couldn't find a single negative feeling coming off you.
You stared at his hand, now more a claw and it felt like everything suddenly made sense.
His strength, the way he heard things from so far off, his way of using terms that didn't make sense and that strange glow in his eyes.
Daryl's mind kept showing you running away, crying as he got closer each time.
Instead, there in the small cave like structure he called home once a month, you reached out your hand and placed it on top of his changed one.
"I don't regret being curious." Your shoulder rested against his, slowly easing into more contact. "And I'm still happy I went home with you, and came here to see this. To see you." Your weight was now entirely resting against his side, and for the first time since he sat down he dared to look at you.
You, who laid comfortably against his side.
"I'm honestly kinda glad you showed me this." You watched Daryl raise his brows at your words. "Suddenly your strange but interesting things make sense. Kinda obvious for someone to be so strong, or have glowy eyes when they're not human."
Your hand gave his a comfortable squeeze. "I hope you'll show me all of this you one day." With a finger pressed to his knuckles you moved your head to kiss his cheek.
"Close yer eyes fer a minute." Daryl moved to stand after he kissed your head, moving behind you.
Noises filled the air. Clothes being undone and landing on the floor.
And then cracking. Tearing and groaning. Coughing and growling, a thud that acompanied a shove against your backside that almost made you turn around, but je asked not to, and you were going to respect his wish.
Once the noises died down and all you heard was deep breathing you opened your eyes again, staring straight forward as you waited. Waited for something to signal it was okay to turn.
That something was a press against your shoulder, a press and a huff of air against your exposed neck.
From the edge of your vision a nose peeked, making you turn and stare right into his scarred eye.
"Wow." It caught you off guard and you stubled backwards just a small bit, staring and laughing at yourself for falling on your ass. "Okay. Big guy. That's ..wow."
You followed his movements as he walked into your view. And you recognised him. All ofrhe features that made Daryl look like himself changed along with him, from the dark, shaggy mane to the scar and beard. Even his tattoos were spots of darker fur, especially clear on the lighter areas.
But, still..
"Wait. So Carol knows about," you wildly gestured at his entire self. "you know, this. She's seen you? And what about the butcher? That comment of hers, she knew."
You gasped in realisation. "You were testing me! You could hear us, you were there on purpose oh my god."
Daryl only sat and listened to your rambling. If anyone had asked him how he envisioned this scene to go, he would have never guessed this to be the way. Not that he was complaining or anything, he liked this.
He liked you, and you liked him too, even in this shape.
With a tap to your hand and his paw covering his eyes he asked you to look away once more, changing back to his human self and getting dressed before coming to press a kiss to your temple. "So, ya sure this's all fine?"
You stood up to join him at eye level. "You're either the most dense man ever, or are still convinced you don't deserve love just because you're different." Your deadpan look spoke more than needed.
"Yeah, alrigh'. Sorry." He shook his head in apology.
"You literally just turned into a goddamn werewolf." You paused. "Wait. That is correct, right? You're a werewolf? I mean, I don't wanna assume and be wrong, or offensive.."
He kept his head low but nodded, telling you were correct in your observations.
You stepped into his space and peppered his face with kisses, grabbing his hands to fake a sense of chaining him to you and it worked. He let himself melt into you and accept your affection.
Your love.
"Let's go home?"
With a nod he stepped back go retrieve your items. "Yeah. Home's good."
The walk home was silent, only sporadic and very random questions with short and simple answers.
Only when he dropped you off at home he spoke full sentences again. "I wan' ya t'move in with me."
You shrugged and nodded. "Yeah, okay. But we gotta clean the place first."
With a nod he agreed and let you go for the day. Only a week later moving the last of your items into his home after strategically cleaning and rearranging his home to accomodate two people.
That night, in bed all cuddled up together after a shower, Daryl pressed his lips against your jaw and uttered three simple words.
"I love ya."
A/N: Okay yeah damn that became way longer than I originally planned. But it wad fun! Hope you enjoyed it~

Good Boy | Were!Daryl Dixon x Fem!Reader
Summary: Finally being cleared to go out on runs again, Daryl took you with him to go explore an abandoned warehouse. There, the two of you stumbled across something that had you saying werewolf puns left and right, much to Daryl’s chagrin.
Genre: Fluff.
Era: Alexandria, no arc in particular.
Warnings: Swearing, slight insinuation towards sexual themes near the end.
Word count: 2.2k.
A/N: Okay, so my original intention for week one of @lazyneonrabbitt’s Halloween challenge was to introduce my OC I made specifically for were!Daryl, but I completely scrapped the idea I had and it’s gonna take me a while to rewrite it. In the mean time, here’s this to get my foot in the door with writing for this popular AU. I hope y’all like this!
“Woah, girl. Hold yer horses. We dun’ know what could be waitin’ for us in there.” Despite his words, Daryl could not help the small chuckle that reverberated in his chest at your clear-as-day giddiness. You had not over exaggerated your need to get out of the community. Two weeks of mandatory bed rest due to your sprained ankle and you were antsy and rearing to go, to do something other than be confined to the walls of your home.
You laughed lightly at the archer’s concern, but complied with his request nonetheless. You slowed your pace and allowed for him to catch up to you, although you knew that he could easily outrun you if he truly wanted to. “Sorry,” you apologized halfheartedly.
Truth be told, you did not completely mean your apology. If there truly were any dangers lurking beyond the doors of the warehouse the two of you were about to enter, Daryl’s keen, heightened senses would have instantly alerted him and he would not have been as lighthearted and lenient as he had been up until that point. Sometimes you truly cherished the fact that you had a werewolf as a boyfriend—well, partner. Daryl was not particularly fond of the ‘b’ word.
With a shake of his head, Daryl chuckled at you. “S’alright. Jus’ stick real close to me, yeah? Dun’ want nothin’ happenin’ to ya. I dun’ trust myself enough to say for sure that there ain’t nothin’ behind this door without makin’ sure first.”
“Okay,” you said with a nod. You remained silent whilst he banged on the metal of the door, a routine you knew all too well at that point. After about two minutes of silence, and no walkers came to inspect the noise Daryl had caused, you stepped forward and lightly nudged his shoulder, a small smile on your face. “You should really learn to trust yourself more, Dar. When was the last time your senses lied to you?”
Daryl opened his mouth to protest, but he realized that what you said rung true. When he picked up on something, he was always right. His supernaturally heightened senses had rarely failed him back before the world ended, and it had not failed him once since the dead had started to rise. However, he was a stubborn man, so he refused to accept the truth that lingered in your words.
“Jus’ humour me sometimes, alright? I jus’ wanna make sure ya stay safe, Sweetheart,” he replied, his tone of voice sincere and filled with love.
Your heart practically melted at his soft admission. You stepped forward and gently took his face into your hands, making him look at you. “You’re too sweet for your own good sometimes, Dar,” you told him softly, giggling lightly as you noticed the crimson colour that had begun to spread across his cheeks. “I’m not gonna say I can take care of myself because I know that’s not going to change how protective you are, but…”
Daryl’s lips twitched up into a small smile as he saw the mischief that sparkled in your eyes. He knew exactly why you had not finished that sentence. If you had, you would have contradicted what you had just told him. “But ya can take care’a yerself,” he finished for you with a light chuckle, his pointed canines on full display.
You smiled at him. You gently patted his cheek before taking a step back, withdrawing your hunting knife—a gift from Daryl—and holding it at the ready. “Damn straight,” you told him confidently, your heart skipping a beat at the lighthearted laugh you managed to coax from Daryl at your confident demeanour. “Now come on. Let’s see what we can find.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Daryl replied, his cerulean eyes sparkling as he looked at you. He adjusted his grip on his crossbow, ensuring that the weapon could be fired at a moment’s notice, before finally opening the door to the warehouse.
The two of you stepped into the abandoned building, your prior camaraderie fading as the seriousness of the situation took root inside your minds instead. You could hear the faint drip of water droplets descending to the floor somewhere within the building, and the chill of the wind outside blew through the broken windows, making the warehouse colder than it needed to be. However, as you continued to explore the area, you noted that there truly were no walkers around, and no other dangers had made themselves known yet, so you were certain that the building was secure. Still, even with that knowledge, you kept your guard up, your eyes searching the place nonetheless.
After about ten minutes of silence, where you and Daryl had just been busy exploring and ensuring that the warehouse truly was safe, the archer spoke up. “Place seems secure.”
You breathed a sigh of relief. However, you could not help the satisfied smirk that painted your features. “Would you look at that? I was right. Your senses didn’t fail you.”
Daryl rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Jus’ rub it i—”
Before Daryl could finish his sentence, a loud bang could be heard. Whipping around with his crossbow raised, he could see that the source of the deafening noise had been caused because a few metal pipes had fallen from their place against the wall. However, what had caused that to happen in the first place, he did not know. All he did know was that he smelled something he had not smelled outside of the community in a long time. He had to be wrong, though. There was no way he could be right about that.
With his finger raised to his lips, a silent insinuation for you to be quiet, he trudged forward to investigate. You followed closely behind him, your knife raised in case you would need it. However, you soon realized that what had happened was not caused by an enemy. In fact, it had been caused by a poor, unsuspecting creature.
You heard it before you saw it. The pained whimpers reached your ears before you laid eyes on the small, injured creature, making you grasp Daryl’s wrist in your hand to stop him before his finger curled around the trigger of his beloved crossbow. “Stop!” you exclaimed hurriedly, instantly regretting your loud tone of voice when Daryl flinched at it. You had momentarily forgotten about his heightened hearing. “Sorry,” you apologized sincerely, sheathing your knife into its holster. “Just... look.”
You moved forward and crouched down in front of the metal pipes, and slowly began picking them up and moving them aside. Slowly but surely, you began to see brown fur, closely followed by a white paw, and then another. Soon, you could see a pair of the cutest dark brown eyes staring up at you, and you could not help the gasp of surprise that left you.
“Hi, baby,” you cooed to it and extended your hand towards it—a small, brown dachshund dog.
The dog slowly began wagging its tail, lifting its head slightly to nudge its nose against your hand, getting familiar with your scent. When it noticed you were not a threat, it began to crawl its body towards you, but stopped and let out a whimper at the exertion.
Your eyebrows furrowed and you picked it up. With a quick look down, you noted that the dog was a boy. “It’s okay, boy. I got you. I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m gonna take really good care of you, okay?” The dog simply looked up at you with his adorable brown eyes, and it made you smile. “You’re just too precious, sweetheart.”
Daryl smiled softly at the sight in front of him. He lowered his crossbow and took a step forward, but stopped when the dog looked at him and began barking. The archer rolled his eyes at that. He was not surprised. That was generally the reaction he always got whenever he encountered a new dog. Thankfully, he knew how to take care of it.
Daryl walked up next to you and placed a hand on your shoulder. He looked down at the dog and let out a low growl, his eyes momentarily flashing an orange colour, before fading back into its usual blue. The dog whined and lowered his head, his barks quieting down. The archer slowly lifted his hand and extended it towards the dog, and when the dog made no protest, he slowly began scratching him behind his ears.
Your giggles soon reached Daryl’s ears. Looking at you, his eyebrows raised questioningly. “What’s so funny?” he inquired, his eyes darting over your face.
You shook your head. “Nothing. I just never took you for a dog person, Daryl.”
Daryl scoffed and took a step back, his eyes narrowed into a glare as he looked at you, but there was no real heat behind his eyes. “Ya think yer hilarious, don’tcha?”
“Oh, I know I’m hilarious,” you replied with a quiet giggle. “I’m just saying, though. Should I be scared that you’re gonna get into a tug-of-war battle with him once I find him some toys?”
Daryl glared at you, but he could not help the small smile that tugged at the corners of his lips. He decided not to comment on the fact that you had decided to keep the dog without even asking for his input, but he did not really mind. He would have said yes anyways. Anything to ensure your happiness. “Nice,” he muttered, rolling his eyes. Opting to change the topic, he continued. “C’mon, let’s go. Ain’t nothin’ here ‘cept dust and some metal. We should pro’ly head back.” He mainly said that because he knew that your mind would be occupied with the small dog instead of looking around the warehouse, so his safest bet was to get you home. He turned around and began making his way towards the exit.
Adjusting the small daschund in your arms, you jogged slightly to keep up with your partner’s long strides. You thanked your lucky stars that you and Daryl had opted to take a truck instead of his bike, because that made it so much easier to get the dog home with you. “Does this mean that he’s a part of your pack now?”
Rolling his eyes, he opened the door to the back of the truck and took the dog from you, placing him into the backseat. “He’s a dog, m’a werewolf. We’re not the same.”
You nodded at his words. “Okay,” you responded. When Daryl turned around, you smirked to yourself and reached down, picking up a stick. “Hey, Babe?” When Daryl turned around, you threw the stick to the side. You smiled at the way he perked up, his eyes following the stick, clearly wanting to chase it.
However, he refrained himself from doing so, and instead shut his eyes at the fact that he had been caught. “Yer on thin ice, woman,” he grumbled.
You laughed and stepped forward, gently cupping his cheek in your hand. His eyes opened and he stared at you, his gaze softening considerably. “There’s no need to be ashamed about your more dog-like tendencies, Dar. I find them endearing. Plus, I think it’s adorable when you glare at a squirrel or you have to refrain yourself from doing things like that.” For added emphasis, you gestured towards the stick you had thrown a few moments prior. “I think those things perfectly balance out your ‘scarier’, stronger qualities. I love everything about you. Everything about you makes my heart howl with joy.”
Daryl rolled his eyes, but he could not help the smile that spread across his face. “Thanks,” he mumbled, closing his eyes at the feeling of your hand slipping into his hair, scratching at his scalp right behind his ear, and he leaned into your touch. However, he soon realized what you had done, and he stepped back and sent you a playful glare, a small smile on his face. “Okay, yer a bitch for that one.”
You laughed and leaned in to give him a quick kiss, before pulling back. “I’m sorry. That one was just too good to pass up.” You stepped back and smiled at him. “Come on, let’s go. You did good today, and every good boy deserves a treat.”
Daryl deliberately ignored that last dog pun, instead focusing on the insinuation behind your words. Within seconds, thanks to his supernaturally enhanced speed, he was situated within the truck, looking at you through the open window expectantly. “Ya jus’ gon’ stand there and look pretty or are ya comin’?”
You giggled and made your way over to the passenger side, clambering in to the vehicle before shutting the door behind you. Daryl started the truck and pulled away from the warehouse, beginning the drive back to Alexandria. You glanced back and noticed that the dog you had found had curled up into the seat, his breathing steady as he slept, and you smiled at the sight. “Is that what our kids are gonna look like in the future?”
Daryl glanced at you, his heart swelling at the knowledge that you had thought of having kids with him. “Yeah, somethin’ like that. They come out human, though. They shift on their first birthday if they carry the lycanthropy gene.”
“Well, if that’s the case, I can’t wait until we have our own litter of puppies.”
“I walked head first into that one, didn’t I?”
“Yes. Yes, you did.”

Hidden Behind Fangs
Daryl Dixon • She/Her Pronouns • Werewolf!Daryl • He will always find a way to keep his secret behind closed doors. Then things changed… • ANGST/SFW • TW: Shifting / Injuries / Anxiety / Nightmares
Requested by: @lazyneonrabbitt (sorry this took forever)
“She hasn’t turned up in a while. She could be—-“
“Nah. I’ve got this” Daryl stated as he picked up his crossbow. “I’m headin’ out there”
Rick only gave Daryl a concerned look before nodding and going toward the gates with Carl to open them for him. Carl didn’t utter his confusion when Daryl didn’t leave with his bike and simply his person, but Rick kept a strong exterior for his son to trust the archer’s decision.
The solo run was supposed to be a week long trip that should’ve been an easy sweep of an outdoor mall Y/N has come across before. It took a lot of convincing for the council to let her go alone. Now there was a lot of regret coursing through her half dead body as she held up in an abandoned church after escaping a group of psychopaths that kept themselves hidden in said outdoor shopping mall.
Y/N was sleeping in the pews, but her body was starting to give up on her that the last time she went to check her entrances/exits. She collapsed in the main isle accepting that she will never see her friends again, or him for that matter.
Then it happened suddenly but her body couldn’t and wouldn’t reach to the sound of scratching on the door she barricaded. She couldn’t tell if it were walkers or an animal of some sorts.
Maybe a dog?
She slipped in and out of consciousness at this point. She didn’t hear the pew she had blocking the door fall over. Couldn’t register the unfamiliar footsteps. Didn’t feel herself rise from the floor. She couldn’t even remember how she got back to the prison.
What she could remember was the sound of something sniffing her and a whine?
A few days passed and Y/N woke in her cell feeling the bandages on her torso but more importantly the pain that came with it. She slowly sat up to see the rest of the damage but nothing some stitches and bandages to do the job.
“Well look who’s awake” Hershel laughs happily bringing himself in as he came initially to change a few bandages while she slept but thank god she’s awake. “You remember what happened and how you got back?”
“Fuck…I got back here?”
“Yeah? Rick and Carol found you outside the gates with your stuff or at least what’s left of it” Hershel helped her sit up in her bed as she noticed how torn her bag was. “You have a large gash in your side so that’s what caused most of the blood loss. A few nasty cuts on your legs and arms. But nothing just a bandage couldn’t help with the healing process. Bruises obviously”
“Obviously” Y/N sighed helping him check the one on her torso by lifting her…whoever’s shirt she was wearing. “Has uhm. Daryl showed up?”
“His bed is currently outside your cell, currently he’s on watch duty but every night since you came back he stayed close” Hershel finished with the bandage letting her fix out the shirt back down. “It’s his shirt by the way. Heat of the moment, couldn’t grab any of yours. He had his at the ready”
“Mmm” Y/N looked down at his shirt moment as Hershel went through his med bag to grab some pain killers. “I’m guessing he’s going to hover for a bit”
“Most likely. Besides, I doubt you’d want to go back out there…” Hershel noticed her tense and grab onto herself. He carefully rested a hand on her for reassurance but she flinched. “What happened out there, hun?”
“Squatters…one too many…” Y/N kept her gaze away from Hershel. “I got chased…then grabbed and…”
As she was telling the old man what had happened, little did she know Daryl was eavesdropping.
She was chased out of the strip mall
Then captured
Tortured
Her saving grace was a herd
“And that’s how I ended up in the church but I guess I build enough strength to get back…”
“That must’ve been scary…I’m really sorry. Wish we went out for yea sooner”
“It’s whatever. Can I like. Get up and walk now? Or am I stuck inside for a while”
“All I’m gonna say is be careful, and you are technically stuck inside for a while. Just within the gates.”
“Figured” Y/N watches Hershel leave her be as she carefully bent down with a groan to get her shoes on.
After getting her shoes on and starting to walk to prison grounds, Y/N could feel the stares coming from her family and the Woodbury folk as the anxiety started to eat at her from it. Practically came back half dead. There was also more to it that started to come clear the more she breathes.
“You doing alright?”
The retired sheriff’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts as she quickly noticed the worry now in his expression as well.
“You were out a bit but we knew you’d pull through”
“Uhm. Can I ask you something? It’s going to sound very stupid once it leaves my mouth”
“Anything”
“Do you believe in the supernatural? Because I’m starting to get this weird feeling that I didn’t get myself back here” Y/N frowns, feeling the tense feeling return in her back as her anxiety did its best to present itself. “I doubt walkers would regain consciousness but there’s much more to just them evolving. There’s other things in the supernatural”
“It would definitely be an odd one but Hershel kind of…confirmed in a way that you got there on your own because you looked at if you’ve been walking for days”
“Anybody who looks weak can be that way for many reasons. It’s not just one thing…and with the blood I’ve lost, I should’ve been eaten out there”
“Y/N…what exactly could you be getting at?”
Would it be weird to tell him exactly what you remember? Y/N thought as she continued to stare at him and the blankness that meant nothing only drew more of his concern out.
“Y/N?”
“I uhm. Forget it, Rick. I’m getting exhausted…” then she didn’t wait for him to get a word in, but right when she left and turned back to him…Daryl had approached with something urgent by the looks of it on his face.
When night came around, Y/N couldn’t sit with her thoughts inside the prison as she sat on the steps into their cellblock. She flinched to the sudden appearance and feel of a blanket draping over her shoulders. Carol making herself known with a soft smile as she sat beside her friend.
“Rick wanted me to check up on you” Carol never lied to Y/N, and she appreciated that. “Said you were a bit on the squirrel-y side. You wanna talk about it?”
“You’re only going to think I’m crazy”
“Well. I stayed with a horrible man for years while he mistreated me and my daughter. I think we’re both crazy…and even then, you’re probably less”
Y/N frowns giving her friend a concerned look but she shook it off. It was in the past, doesn’t mean she doesn’t worry. She took a deep breath before admitting.
“There was…a big dog. Or a wolf. Or whatever. When I was held up in the chapel it sounded like walkers were trying to get in. But I went out for a second that when I opened my eyes, I was like…face to face with a snout. A big ass dog.”
“Probably a wolf. Given these parts.”
“You don’t think it’s weird?”
“That it didn’t eat you? Yeah. But you’re just saying you encountered it. Then you brought yourself back”
“That’s the thing…you guys just saw me at the gates on the ground. I had no strength to get back here…that..wolf dog…it dragged me.” Y/N frowns watching her friend’s concern grow but he couldn’t tell if it’s from what she said or something else. “The last thing I remember was being dragged by the wolf dog.”
“Hm”
“You think I’m crazy”
“I once thought walkers wouldn’t ever happen but yet here we are. Anything is possible” Carol reassures resting her hand on Y/N’s shoulder giving it a squeeze before getting up. “Don’t stay out too much longer”
Y/N nodded watching her head back inside and when she turned toward the gates of the prison she noticed the eyeshine of an animal. The animal slowly approached the gate which drew her to lift herself discarding the blanket as she approached with caution.
The hesitation the animal had when getting closer only made Y/N bring herself up to the gate. The smallest gesture led it to finally come into the light the watchtower emitted.
A wolf… Y/N stares at the creature watching it bring itself up close sniffing her. But when she reached her hand through, it stepped away quickly.
The wolf ran back into the woods still within view for Y/N to see. It gave a quick glance at her before turning back toward the darkness and rising on its hind legs. It turned back to her a last time as all she saw was a silhouette and the eyeshine.
It’s been a few weeks since that event and Y/N couldn’t stop thinking about it. What was it? was the big question in the front of her mind because no wolf can stand on its hind legs like how a human stands.
Y/N currently lays in the grass of the prison after spending a few hours taking care of the garden. Even harvesting some vegetables. She stares up at the sky still thinking about that night when she heard footsteps approaching, only to find Daryl carrying dinner for the both of them.
That was another thing. Daryl has changed since she came back from her attack. He’s grown more…attached to her. Their relationship is complicated. More on the side of friends who can confine in each other, while one has feelings for the other. Little did she know. But ever since the accident, he’s done his best to always be there. Even ditch runs to spend time with her on her watch.
“You almost missed dinner”
“Guess I got too lost in my thoughts that I forgot” Y/N slowly sat up taking the bowl given to her, watching Daryl sit with her. “How was the run?”
“Long” Daryl sighs leaning back on his hands after setting his bowl in his lap. “Didn’t find what I needed”
“What was it that you were looking for?” She asks while taking a bite and when she noticed the annoyance grow on his expression. She choked a bit to get her words out. “Sorry if I—-“
“Nah it’s fine. Needed new parts for my bike” Daryl stated while he picked at his dinner as Y/N sets her finished bowl beside her. “Uhm. You ever wanna go on a ride…with me on my bike?”
The heat instantly reached her cheeks which lead for his blush to appear raging on his ears. Y/N couldn’t help her smile though.
“I’d love to”
“How about tomorrow? I’ve got watch in a bit”
“Perfect”
Tomorrow never came. The outbreak had to happen and people were starting to get sick…
People like Y/N…
But…when the few that were assigned to get the medicine, something more happened aside from Bob’s drinking habits almost costing lives. Something more on a divine scale.
When Y/N woke after receiving the medicine, she felt a hand squeeze hers as she quickly glanced to the archer who has seen better days by the looks of it.
“Are you okay?” She rasped out, receiving a scoff as if a ‘seriously?’ from Daryl.
“I’m okay…got uh. Stuck in a pickle” Daryl frowns feeling her squeeze his hand. “You gotta…you gotta stop leaving me”
Y/N brought his hand to her lips gaining some confidence in that moment to display that small form of affection by kissing the back of his hand.
“Stay with me”
Y/N hated how her own words rung in her head when she stared at the prison engulfed in flames. Alone in this hell again only brought back pain and anger. She needed to find her family or him and she won’t hesitate to continue spreading the fire in order for such to happen.
When the night crawled in and the prison was back to state it was in before they moved in…the beast from that night approached the prison in a hurry as if it were looking for her. Something was off with it that it didn’t hesitate to rip apart every walker that came in its way, the growling gave away its hidden feelings about the event…he experienced.
As much as the prison was in ruin, he destroyed the place when he caught onto a familiar scent that was driving him nuts if it meant she was under it all. The growling grew louder with frustration but he finally caught onto where the scent was coming from.
Blood. But no body. She got out.
Even with relief the wolf was still enraged.
She was out there and so are the monsters that hurt her
The news of this Sanctuary reached everyone from her family that when Y/N came across it, she thought it was a safe bet to head in that direction to reunite with them.
When she found herself in a ruined neighborhood, she half expected walkers instead of people when she went to check the noise coming from one of the homes. Thankfully, Carl lowered his readied gun partially dropping it before hugging Y/N. Michonne following his lead on the affection.
“God I’m lucky I found you” Y/N smiles, on the verge of tears which led her smile to quickly fade to an unwelcome thought. “Have you—-“
“We haven’t see anybody else. But there are signs for this sanctuary. They might be there” Michonne reassures as she brought Y/N into another hug.
There seemed to be a trend of bad things occurring and running into…an old group of squatters, hell a few of them were psychopaths had caught them on the road to the sanctuary. The leader had already ordered a few to grab Carl and Michonne while he had his grasp on Rick. He gave Y/N a look while Billy, one of the Claimers are what they’re called, grabbed her harshly pinning her against the car.
“Remember Len? The one that wanted to do all kinds of things to your sweet little ass?” Joe laughs. “He’s a non-issue…but knowing you’re part of his crowd? Oh we’re gonna do all kinds of things once we’re done with boss man here”
Y/N couldn’t help the tears as it was clear to Michonne and Rick that these were the men that harmed her a while back. Michonne tried to rush to her when Billy forced her on the ground and pinned her there but Tony had his gun readied at Michonne’s head that there wasn’t a window.
Until he made himself known.
“Joe…what the hell are you doing?”
“This is the guy that killed Lou, Daryl…he shall pay for what he’s done” Joe stated and Daryl was going to say more on why they shouldn’t but noticed finally who Billy was pinning to the ground.
Daryl had enough. He had enough.
The archer dropped his crossbow and slowly made his way toward the leader but when one tried to intervene…all hell broke loose.
One of the claimers went to grab Daryl when he forcefully grabbed his wrist, snapping his arm with an unexplainable strength that soon made sense when the man started to shift. The wolf…werewolf from before was Daryl and the only few that knew were Rick and Carol, Michonne when he went full beast during the medicine run, and now Carl…and now her.
Y/N stayed in her place as she felt the man pinning her suddenly lift off of her and torn in half by Daryl biting down on his upper half. Then the bottom being practically torn off the upper from the throw.
“Son of a—-“ Joe couldn’t even finish his sentence before Rick got to end his life with a bite that does compared to the wolfman’s.
Daryl lunged at the man towering Carl after grabbing Tony and practically throwing him into a tree, giving Michonne her window to grab the boy keeping him out of harms way. Y/N was frozen in place for a moment while the wolf, her wolf, took out most of the claimers with either his teeth or his claws.
His ears twitched when he heard her scream from the remaining Claimer grabbing her and using her as a shield to get out of there. But as he approached the two on all fours watching the knife the Claimer wield press itself into her neck. Y/N instantly stomped on the guy’s foot causing him to release temporarily but enough for her to duck when Daryl ran on all fours jumping the man not even hesitating to rip him in pieces.
Once Rick made sure his son and Michonne were okay, he quickly went to check on Y/N who simply watched Daryl do his thing and sniff out for anymore claimers. She didn’t radiate any fear toward this form and that surprised the retired sheriff.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“It’s not my secret.”
“…is that why he left on all those runs? To find them, avenge me?” Y/N frowns watching him step into the woods. “There’s so much explaining he has to do”
“You know he’d never lie to you. He cares about you…in his own way”
Y/N gave Rick a quick look as he understood which led him to go back to his family while she went after Daryl.
Daryl had only stepped away to shift back and let the pain of shifting back causing him to stumble. Eventually falling onto his knees expecting no one to have followed him because hell, who would want to see him that way? He flinched to the sudden touch on his shoulder which led to a quick knife draw but he stopped himself when he noticed it was Y/N. He dropped his knife and quickly scrambled to his feet circling her person to make sure she was okay but she was getting overwhelmed by his action that she quickly took a hold of his hand making him stop.
“Daryl…why didn’t…why didn’t you just tell me? Or show me that night weeks ago…”
“I didn’t want to scare you off…” Daryl hung his head down feeling her arms snake around him as she slotted herself in his embrace because he instinctively brought his arms around her. “Y/N…I…I don’t want this to change anything”
“It doesn’t. All it does is make me worry for you…” She frowns looking him in the eye as confusion written itself on his face toward her worry. “I don’t want you to get hurt”
“I won’t, sunshine. It’ll take a lot to get me down”
“Daryl…”
“I’ll always come back to you. One way or another”
Y/N held onto him for a little while longer until they regrouped with the others for the night. Even then, he kept close to her not wanting anything to happen to her during the night.
He’s never letting another person lay their hands on her. Unless they’re asking to be bitten.

MARCHWERES PROMPT 6- WET DOG PLEASE GIVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
Main Masterlist
Daryl Masterlist (includes marchweres)
Prompt list by: @marchweres
CW: Poor writing, short, swearing, reader is referred to as ‘woman’ once but it is otherwise gender neutral, mentions of scars, characters are naked but it is still semi sfw, slightly suggestive, not proof read, lemme know if i missed anything!
Daryl was filthy.
The man was a walking biohazard, his clothing stained with grime and walker guts, yet he still refused to hop in the bath, stating that it was ‘fuckin’ pointless’ until after he had shifted for his hunt later. In a point of desperation to get him clean, you told him you would join him.
Which leads you to now.
You’re slowly rubbing shampoo in the mans hair while he grumbles about something incoherent, his words garbled. There’s a smile on your face while you nod along to the stories of his run, your hands massaging his scalp lightly with each pass of his hair. Despite him being taller than you, you’re behind him, his back pressed flush against your bare chest.
Slowly, you rinse the suds out of his hair and move down. You pour some soap on your hands and begin to rub his back, loosening the tight knots and stress out of his muscles. Your fingers trail lightly over his scars, being sure to kiss the occasional one before you pass by it with the soap.
With open mouth kisses, your lips trail up to his scent gland, sucking against it softly and giggling at the small whine he lets escape. Such a big, strong man, all just to be unraveled by the slightest touch.
“Shit, woman..” his voice trails off, his torso melting into your body and leaning against you.
You hum in acknowledgement, kissing and sucking his neck, leaving a nice plum coloured mark on his throat. The procedere forces a groan out of Daryl, and you think that maybe, just maybe, you should bathe with him more often..

MarchWeres Day 6
Prompt: Wet Dog
Pairing: Werewolf! Daryl Dixon x Reader
Word Count: 421
Warnings: none 🥰
A heavy rain had surprised all of you, making most of the residents of Alexandria stop their activities and seek for shelter, you being one of them.
After you dried yourself and changed your clothes you sat by the porch, on a rocking chair, a cover around your shoulders and a cup of tea in your hands. You couldn’t see a single thing, but you looked at the rain in hopes you’d see them coming back home. Where were they? Were they safe?
It passed a long time till the rain got a little lighter, and still they wouldn’t arrive. You hoped they had found shelter and that they were on their way back home.
Some time after you were surprised, your mind wandered all around and you didn’t noticed the dog approaching you and jumping on you. “Dog!” You exclaimed at the wet dog that was all over you. “Where’s your daddy? You took too long to come back home.”
The dog just ignored you pawing and licking you as if he hadn’t seen you in ages. “I ain’t no dog daddy.” You heard the raspy voice of your lover.
“Oh, yeah you are. I’m his mommy, so you’re his daddy.” You looked from the dog to him, and got up from your chair. “Look at you, you’re wet like a dog.” You got a little closer to the soggy man. “You smell like wet dog too.”
“Maybe, that’s ‘cause technically Imma dog.” He threw his belongings on a corner in the porch.
“In fact, you’re a werewolf, but being a dog helps my arguments that you’re Dog’s daddy.” You took some wet hair from his temple and eyes.
He rolled his eyes, he’d let you win this time, it wasn’t a completely lie, because his connection with Dog was very strong. “I just arrived from an unsuccessful hunt, I’m soaking… ain’t I getting a kiss or something?”
“I’m glad you’re back, I was so worried.” You confessed, cupping his rain wet face with your hands. You tip toed and placed a loving kiss on his lips. “Let’s get inside, you need to take out these clothes and have a warm bath.”
At that exact moment Dog shook all the water he had on his fur, getting both you and Daryl wet. Well, you, Daryl was already wet. “Guess, ya’ll join me in bath.” He smirked a you.

Maybe going on that late night walk in the woods outside of the community was a bad idea. Or maybe it wasn’t! There’s for sure a whole lot to discuss back home.

In my werewolf au Daryl is a timber wolf (for specifics maybe a northern rocky mountain wolf). Do I care that he was born in Georgia and not Canada? No! He's my blorbo and I get to do what I want to him.
Honestly though, what form would he be in? The typical anthropomorphic were, a feral one or just a massive wolf like some twilight stuff?? I like to pretend he'd be like a twilight werewolf/shapeshifter, despite it being genetic related.

Let Me In!
This is an 18 and up post minors DNI this is a short little fic that popped into my head. Credit to the orginial poster @queer--king for giving me the idea.
Teasing Daryl is always fun.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ya fuckin’ mutt! Let me in.” Daryl snarled his red eyes glowing, watching your naked form spread out on the bed. You had slowly stripped in front of him, barring him from your shared room.
“No, I don’t think I will.” You snickered as he grabbed the doorframe, you could hear the wood splintering as he growled.
“Ya best let me in or I’ll tan yer fuckin’ hide!” You giggled as you lay back on the bed and opened your legs lazily. Your hand circling your hardened nipples, you heard his sharp intake of breath he really didn't need. Your vampire lover, who would've thought, two mortal enemies falling in love.
Take it back. Then you can have your way.” He snorted, his eyes narrowing as you twist one of your nipples whimpering.
“Ain’t doin’ shit. Ya stink like a wet dog when ya shift. Point blank.” You huffed, one of your hands making its way to your throbbing core.
“Too bad then, parasite.” You slid a finger against your lips, groaning as you imagined it was his. You were soaking wet, spreading yourself before his gaze. He grumbled and growled and bellowed as you inserted a finger into yourself. Hips bucking as you set a slow pace, your eyes closing as pleasure wracked you. Moaning as you clenched around your finger, then you snapped your eyes open as you heard a zipper. Daryl angrily pulled his thick cock out, his gaze darkened as he met your now golden eyes. His fangs protruded from his lips as they drew back.
“I can’t fuckin’ believe ya’d do this to me mutt. Come on now, ya know ya want me.” You grinned your own fangs lengthening in answer.
“Poor baby, you’re missing out… I’m so wet.” The final snap of the doorframe being broken reached your ears. The large chuck in Daryl’s fist as his other hand started stroking his cock, his tip glistening with pre-cum. Dropping the wood he leaned against the frame, his focus solely on the ministrations to your pussy. His shoulders heaving as he stroked himself.
“Stupid fuckin’ rules. When I get my fuckin’ fangs in ya, yer gonna remember who ya belong to.” He groaned his pace picking up with your own. Adding a second finger you dragged your other hand against the top of your breast, the claw cutting into your flesh.
“Ya better not.” Moaning you opened your flesh, blood spilling onto your skin.
“Or what, Dare?” He hissed his nose twitching as the scent of your blood filled the air.
“Imma make that ass as red as yer blood. Make that sweet pussy ache as I wreck it.” You could see the drool forming against his lips.
“Is that a challenge?’ Your hips rolled, your orgasm was in sight as you plucked at your nipples, adding a third finger, but still feeling empty. Needing his cock filling you up, fire raced in your veins as you climbed higher and higher.
“It’s a promise, girl.” You purred at his gravelly tone, your toes curling as your orgasm finally washed over you, yelling his name as your back arched off the bed, your eyes lazily watching his own release spurting onto the hardwood floor. You giggled, his cock still rock hard as you tilted your head.
“I invite you in, Daryl.” He had you over his knee in a second, yelping as his hand stung your sensitive flesh.
“Ready fer a long night darlin’?” You had never been more ready for your vampy lover.

To stay in the october/halloween spirit with rhe AI omages requests, I'd love to see what it does with known characters and classic monsters. Let's say, Daryl as a werewolf? 🤔
I mean, he gives off the vibes, right?
there you go!
hey, i kinda like this concept, it actually suits him very well lol
(i decided to add a watermark now bc of all that stealing drama, i really didn't want to but anyway i hope it doesn't ruin the images)

Down at the river
Daryl Dixon x Reader
Request: Hello, I love your stories and have an idea for werewolf Daryl. In wolf form, Daryl finds a reader who is swimming in the river and falls in love with her. In human form, he brings her to the group (no matter what time) but he is afraid to tell her about himself without knowing how much the reader has fallen in love with him. Preferably with smut at the end ;) Thanks♡
Down at the river, where the stream split was where people used to find Daryl during the days before and after the full moon. He'd be bathing in his changed form, or fishing to bring back a haul for his community.
But nowadays he spent his time around the area in hiding. Covered by the thick greenery he'd watch the new woman bathe in the river and catch his fish. She had skills he admired, and she was beautiful as well. Her hair down to be washed or up in a bun when just rinsing her body, she was beautiful.
Daryl traveled along with a supply cart between the communities. He was asked to be security because of the increase in walkers lately, but also because multiple carts had been robbed lately.
Daryl kept his eyes and ears open for any noises and caught something getting closer to the cart. It was too subtle for a human to hear, and too calculated to be a walker. He took his crossbow and watched for any movement but whatever it was stayed hidden.
Only when Daryl went to explain what he heard and let his guard down momentarily there was an opening to rush in, slash the tarp and grab whatever was underneath with both hands and running off.
Daryl was quick to grab his crossbow and follow the figure, easily catching up and hauling them up against a tree and watching all the produce fall to the ground.
"Where's yer camp?" Daryl snarled, inches away from your face. His gaze flickering around the area for any sign of backup.
"I swear it's just me. I found a cabin but fish isn't enough to live on.. Please I just want to eat." You raised your hands as much as possible, palms open and empty for the man to see you were harmless. He caught no sense of you lying to him, so he set you back down and handed you a small portion of what you had stolen. "Ya know we got communities. If ya wanna live nicer, try Alexandria." With the leftover produce in his hands and crossbow over his shoulder he turned around to walk away. "I know ya know where it is."
On his way back he couldn't help but flash back to when he saw you in the river. You knew your way around the woods and were a skilled survivor, but he couldn't let all of that make the heat rise in his cheeks.
"Was a lone woman. Left 'er with a warning." Daryl placed the produce back in the cart, clearly less than what was taken. "Some got squashed when she ran 'n dropped it. M'sorry."
Daryl went to find the cabin, locating it with ease and watching from afar. It was a nice place, and surrounded by walker traps. He remembered your complaints about eating just fish, so while you did know how to fish, hunting and animal trapping wasn't something you were familiar with.
Which is why he hunted down some small game and prepped it to leave at your door, boxed in a stupid tupperware box he took from Carol's kitchen.
He waited til the next full moon for you to knock on the community gate, but you never did.
Back in the woods, Daryl went to his usual spot. A giant pile of leaves becoming his base for those nights. A nice bed and a great hiding spot for his stuff. With the nights becoming colder again he didn't want to fish, opting for hunting instead. He ate his fill and trodged back to the place he'd call his bed for the night, quickly dozing off covered in yellow leaves.
That same night, at the cabin not far off you rested, unable to fall asleep with the lack of thick blankets. Tossing and turning and groaning in frustration you sat up, remembering the giant pile of fallen leaves a short walk away. You thought of stuffing the ratty duvet cover and making a thicker blanket that way and set off to where you had seen it.
Upon arrival you found.. something else as well. At the base of the pile laid a creature, covered partially under a golden blanket. 'Looks like we had the same idea.' The thought came and went as you stared at the large bear.
No, not a bear. Its shapes weren't bearlike.
You scanned the animal's features and got hit by a realisation like a truck. The creature in front of you bared a scar over its eye. Just like that man who let you have that food after you stole from his people. The greying fur indicated his older age too. It matched up perfectly. The long shaggy fur now looked entirely black in the small bits of moonlight passing through the trees, but you bet it was that same dark brown from your memories.
You ditched the plan of taking the leaves, as to not wake up the sleeping beast and turned back home to your cabin.
Despite the night's cold temperature you eventually passed out and slept til late in the morning.
By the time you went to head out, pushing open the cabin door you felt it hit something, shoving it along.
A quick look around the door showed a small wild boar, its throat cut and seemingly drained. But it looked clean aside from the rope burns around its leg. You took the boar inside and stashed it away, giving a quick glance at the plastic tub that held the other animals last time with a fond smile. Your mind wandered to the man who so kindly let you keep the food even after you stole from his people. You were convinced he was bringing you the animals and it warmed your heart.
Were you catching feelings for him?
Shrugging it off you went to set out into the woods to do your daily gatherings, sneaking along the area where you saw him sleep last night, but not finding anything that indicated he had been there besides the leaf pile being a mess. Your trip was ended quickly now that you didn't need to hunt or fish, so you decided to make the extra trip back to the leaf pile with your blanket cover after all.
The amount of walkers in the area increased quickly. It was like they were swarming in from all sides. Daryl had noticed it too. It wasn't safe for him anymore to sleep in the woods during full moons. His mind kept wandering to you, and went by the cabin a few times but never caught you there. He couldn't afford to camp around your home with his community needing food stockpiled if it got too bad outside the walls. He had to keep up the supply and needed to hunt.
It was late at night after two weeks of daily trap checking and hauling back food for his people when he was being summoned to the gate.
"This woman claims to know you, but not by name." Deanna's voice was stern, not trusting the stranger at her side.
Daryl gave you a once over and nodded, "yeah. Seen 'er out there. Traded food once or twice." It was cler you were hurt, and seeing the way you carried your bedsheets stuffed with items he made out you had to leave in a hurry. "Ya should rest. I'll take someone ta check yer old place in the mornin'."
The offer took you off guard but you welcomed it, thanking him for being so kind.
"Alright." Deanna stated quickly. " you may accompany mister Dixon for the night, since you two have a history together. Tomorrow morning mister Dixon can show you my home where we can continue this talk. Goodnight for now." With a kind smile she headed back home.
Daryl bid the guards a good night aa well before showing you the way to his shared home. "Ain't got a room fer ya yet, so yer gonna havta live with the couch tonight."
Daryl led you inside where you were met with Carol who was woken up by people coming to get Daryl earlier. You watched her as she got up and with a kind smile to greet you and introduced herself. When you responded with an introduction of yourself, Daryl made a mental note of your name. "Would you like some tea?"
She had practically readied everything already before you answered, so instead you just nodded and thanked her as she offered you a cup.
"I'm going back to bed. Find me when you need something, okay?" A small wave punctuated her leave as she disappeared up the stairs.
You stood with the tea in your hands, looking around the house and taking it all in. It had been years since you'd seen a house in this near perfect state, untouched by the dead, or the living that took everything they desired.
"Yer gon' be alrigh?" Daryl's voice was soft, like he was trying his best not to overwhelm you. He got to digging out blanket from the basket beside hus lounge chair and handed it to you along with an extra pillow.
"Thankyou. I'll be fine for the night." With tour bedsheet bag set to the side you sat down to undo your boots, remembering you had set your tea down and taking a sip before it got cold.
Daryl kind of just watched your scatterbrained self do five things at once until you were finally ready to lay down. Only then did he wish you a good night, and upon walking away he stopped for a second, turning towards you. "Name's Daryl, by the way."
It had been a while since you slept through the night and woke up with the smell of fresh breakfast being prepared. The groan you let out as you stretched earned you a call of good morning from the kitchen. Carol peeked her head past the corner and walked up with a new cup of tea.
While you waited for breakfast as Carol had instructed you went to unpack the stuff you brought. Trying to make a list for Daryl to help him on his trip to your cabin later today.
You stacked your clothes on the armrest beside you, clearly missing a couple of items that weren't on the closest pile when you ran. You dug out a canteen of water, some weapons and a solar powered lantern that was at the end of its life. The last thing all the way at the bottom was--
"Hey, where'd you get that?" Carol's curious tone had you jump up, pulled away from the focus on your task.
"Ya took it with ya? Empty?" You hadn't even noticed Daryl coming into the room, all dressed and ready to leave already.
Your gaze switched from Carol over to Daryl, and back to Carol again who was staring at her friend with a confused look on her face. "Daryl?"
Again your head moved to look at Daryl, who was chewing on the skin of his thumb. A clear sign of his nerves. "Took it ta bring 'er som meat. She weren't showin' at the gate so I took some to 'er home."
Carol raised her brows at that, but decided to stay quiet, going back to preparing the plate of breakfast for you and shooing Daryl out the door, who made a vocal protest of having to take you to Deanna. "I'll take her later. You go do your thing, she'll be here when you come home."
You smiled around a mouthful of food, loving the playful banter between the two.
With Daryl out the door, Carol went to take her own breakfast and sit down with you.
"So, how'd you two meet? Usually Daryl shares tales of his hunts, but I never heard anything about a woman."
You had to start improvising now. If you shared the truth there was a chance of being straight out the gate again. "He almost shot me." It was the first thing that came to mind, it was close enough to your first encounter where he would have shot you if you had beem further off. "He told me to find this place, but I got scared. I mentioned being tired of fish and he figured out where I lived." You shared a simple version of the whole truth that seemed to work well enough for Carol to move on.
After breakfast you washed up and Carol took you to see Deanna, where you went through some sort of interview initiation process. She talked about the inner workings of the community and finding a job for you based on your chat.
You found it strange, but you guessed it was a necessity.
Deanna gave you a quick tour of the community after deeming you not dangerous, showing you all the important places like the pantry, the infirmary and the vegetable gardens.
You got to search through the community clothing reserves and pick out some stuff to take home and take a much needed shower.
You had no idea how long you spent in the bathroom. All you knew was Daryl had come home by the time you were done.
It then hit you you never gave him a list of missing items.
"Hey." Daryl's eyes caught yours and for a second all he could see was you, with your soaked hair in the river. He shook the thought off and awkwardly pointed out the door. "Stripped the place. Come see what ya wanna keep?"
In your clean clothes and damp hair you followed Daryl outside, padding along down the porch steps and to the back of the truck parked in front of the house.
Together you sifted through the truck bed, taking out the items you wished to keep for yourself and sorting rhe rest into useful community items and stuff to take apart for material.
Spending the whole day going around the community with Daryl was the best time you had since the dead came back to life.
Just one day of donating your gathered items and clearing out your now bedroom was all it took to have those butterflies from back in your cabin flutter so much more intense than before.
But you kept it quiet, showed none of it. There was no way it would be okay to share something like that only a single day into it.
Where you went to bed content, Daryl ended up downstairs with a less positive mindset.
He was angry. Not at you, or anyone in general. He was angry with himself. He was angry for falling for you since day one and not having had the courage to show himself to you during the full moons.
Weeks passed where the two of you danced around each other in and out of the community, all the way up to the week of the full moon.
Daryl had to leave again in three days and his mind was plagueing him. He hated the idea of having to lie to you about his leave. He hated that he'd have to use your cabin and reinforce it in record time so he had a safe space to sleep.
But if yoy knew your cabin was walker-proof, you could want to move back and Daryl didn't want that. He wanted you to stay..
Around the community it was clear something was bugging Daryl, but most of them wouldn't even bother to find out what that something was. To Carol it was clear as day, and she made it her personal job to make sure Daryl talked to you before leaving.
"Pookie.." Carol sat down beside her friend who had been chainsmoking on the porch, leg bouncing and thumb almost bleeding from how much he bit it. "She's gonna be okay with it. The cabin, you. Everything."
Daryl only grumbled something in response. Something that sounded like you being afraid, which only made her laugh niw that she knew how the two of you had officially met.
Of course Darul had shared the whole truth with her, it's how Carol figured out her friend had been in love with the girl way before she had shown up at the community. Before he had caught her stealing, even.
"Daryl, look. It has been obvious that she's comfortable around you. You attacked her for stealing and lied about it to get her to stay." A soft reassuring smile ended her last sentence. "She's lived in the woods. She'll love your animal half."
Daryl spent the remainder of his cigarette mulling over Carol's words. She made so much sense it had to be true.
It took the rest of the day to mentally prepare him to go find you at home, and to his luck you were helping Carol in the kitchen.
He thanked the moon for Carol being there as well, he was going to need someone to back him up.
"Hey, Daryl." Carol happily greeted him from where she was showing you how to create her cookie dough, kneading it side by side with you.
The soft hum of the oven sounded through the kitchen as Daryl came over and leaned against the counter behind you.
"Man, I wish we had chocolate chips.. I miss those." You reminised to the old world and its delicious snacks that had your mouth water.
"I have some, we can set some dough aside for a small batch." Carol moved to separate a small portion of her dough for later. "Just keep those away from the regular ones. Daryl's allergic to chocolate and we don't want him getting sick."
Your brows furrowed in confusion, while Daryl glanced over at Carol's conversation starter.
"You're allergic to chocolate? That must suck.." You peeked away from your work to give Daryl and apologetic look.
He only shrugged it off, too busy with his confession to make a snarky comment. The kitchen fell silent again and he felt the panic gnaw at his skull again. He had to get it over with.
"S'watcha get when ya ain't fully human. Can't eat all kindsa food."
Carol smiled to herself when your hands stilled. In the reflection of the window you could see Daryl's worry clean on his face. You had to choose your words carefully.
"What else can't you have? You know, for if I'm ever in charge of dinner."
The response was one Daryl didn't see coming. It was clear in his little stutter as he found the words to reply. "Can't have grapes. So no wine either, not tha' I can get drunk anyways."
You were hoping he'd straight up say what he was thinking and not dance around the subject, but you saw he needed time. Back to questioning you went.
"So, what exactly is making you have those allergies? What non-human part, I mean." You kept peeking his way over your shoulder as you followed Carol's moves in cutting and placing the cookies.
"Yer gonna think 'm crazy. Feels gross sayn' it out loud." He couldn't even look up from the floor with how badly he wanted to disappear right now. His hands in his pockets plucking at any loose threads so he wouldn't chew his fingers down to the bone.
"You could always show her." Carol shrugged with the plate of raw cookies in her hands, placing it in the oven while you operated the door for her.
"Nah. S'too scary ta show jus' like tha'." He was getting restless, he had said what he wanted in a way, so why was he still so anxious about this whole thing?
"Scary? I swear I mistook you for a bear undernthat pile of leaves last month. You're pretty cute when you sleep." Your eyes squinted with the wide smile on your face, remembering that night in the woods.
Only when you saw Daryl's face become one of utter shock you couldn't hold back your laughter.
It took a moment for the situation to die down again, you catching your breath and Daryl still not knowing what to do.
But Carol did. "I told you so." With a shrug she kept moving around and continuing the baking process while Daryl's mind rattled and you reassured him once more.
"I came here after I saw you and realised who I found. If I saw you before I came here I would have been just as happy to have seen you, because I like you for who you are, not what you are."
Daryl's hands had by now found their way out of his pockets. One tucked underneath his armpit and the other being anxiohsly chewed on, the skin angry and red.
You abandoned your baking, trusting Carol to pick up, and took two steps towards him. Your hands found his, tugging them down to hold them in yours. "Daryl.."
You watched a million thought cross Daryl's eyes, his hands trembled in yours as he looked anywhere but at you.
With your hands intertwined you could feel the anxiety seep into you. The words you had ready all jumbled up and were unreachable in your head. The only difference was, you did find words when you looked Daryl in the eyes and he looked right back. The trembling of Daryl's hands in yours turned into full body jitters, lifting you on your tiptoes to press the quickest peck to his lips, quietly mumbling an 'I love you' against his chest.
For a moment the kitchen was quiet. No mure humming of the oven or rummaging on the counters. Carol had soundlessly slipped away too.
After a while of not getting a single response, Daryl's hands slipped from yours and for a second your heart broke. You were ready to step back and head out, ready to disappear when his hands settled on your lower back, fingers brushing over the fabric of your shirt ever so lightly. He was testing the waters and you let him. Daryl needed time to let everything sink in and give it a place.
Your hands hung limp at your side, unsure what to do with them but tensed as Daryl nuzzled against your hair, softly pressing and nudging you to look at him.
With you facing him again he lowered his head and press a soft, lingering kiss to your lips.
Your arms snaked around him, pressing further into him. "I love you, Daryl."
After the kiss Daryl kept nuzzling your cheek, a soft humm rumbling deep down in his chest.
He may have not said it back, but it was clear in his actions he felt the same way for you.

So I Live a Lie in the Light
Setting: Forest (6 year gap) Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Tabby O’Sullivan (OC) Warnings: Typical TWD violence and gore; mentions of child abuse; mentions of pregnancy Summary: Daryl has a secret. He’s always known it could affect all of those he loved. Just not like this. A/N: Tumblr is being an uber twat right now and won’t let me edit so hopefully there are no mistakes.
It had been getting more difficult to hide. Emotions always made it worse. For most of his life, he had tried to hide from them; push them down and bury them. And that was before he was bitten. He had been so young and careless, out in the woods after a particularly heavy beating from his father. Nature had always been his safe place. That night, it was anything but safe.
He had thought it was a dog at first, a low growl the first indication he hadn’t been alone. He had stumbled through the bushes and landed directly in the middle of the dinner table. The creature was kneeling over the deer carcass, its clawed hands holding open a gaping hole so its canine-like maw could delve inside.
It had heard him, probably smelled him now that he thought back on it. Running had proven useless, its long legs catching up to him with ease. He remembered thinking he would die right there that night. Even now, he could feel the pain flare to life around the scar its teeth had left on his shoulder.
Then it had let him go.
His daddy had been passed out drunk when he got home, allowing him to care for the wound without explanation. He would find out on the first full moon since the attack that the creature had been Merle and what exactly that bite meant for the rest of his life.
So Daryl, a lycan, had kept his secret. It made slaughtering the undead while alone a piece of cake. Even when he was with his chosen family, he had strength he would never be able to explain if he didn’t hide it well. Had he not been so consumed by fear, he could have saved them. He could have saved so many of them.
After Rick’s supposed death, he had skulked off into the woods to find his brother’s body, dead or alive. He had left everyone behind. He had left her behind. If there had been anyone he would have told, it would have been her. He wanted to tell her; wanted to show her how much he trusted her. How much he loved her.
But he was afraid. The walkers had done nothing more than die and had become the enemy. What would that mean for him? A lycan. A werewolf.
Rather than live with her rejection, he chose to live with her absence. It was better for both of them this way.
Daryl had made her promise to never visit aside from after each full moon. He had been adamant and, so far, Tabby had held to the promise. She’d set the world on fire for that man, so even when her heart ached for his presence, she held fast to the agreement.
Until now.
Circumstances called for an earlier visit. She brought supplies with her but secretly hoped this would be when he’d return. It had been six years. Two day visits every 30 days or so just wasn’t cutting it. He’d always allow her to stay in his camp, sharing touches and sweet kisses and whispered words. Sharing his bed and his body. She yearned for those moments.
Maybe today was the day.
“Daryl, are you here?” Tabby peeked into the tent, surprised to find Dog stretched out on the bedroll but no archer. “Daryl?” With careful, quiet steps—just like he’d taught her—she crept across the forest floor. It wasn’t long before she heard the familiar snarls of a herd. Oh god, no!
She didn’t call for him. It would only alert them to her presence when he could be perfectly fine and hiding to wait it out. But why would he leave Dog? There was a new, unfamiliar sound as she closed in, an animal of some sort. Probably, being mauled and eaten, the poor thing. When she could see a few of the uncoordinated, shuffling bodies, she pressed herself against the nearest tree, carefully leaning around to the other side.
What she saw defied everything logical she had ever been taught up until the dead began to walk.
A large, black creature was slaughtering walkers left and right; taking heads and limbs and tossing them carelessly. It was covered in fur and stood on two legs at about seven feet, with decipherable knees but canine hocks below them. The fingers and toes were tipped with large, razor-sharp claws that were slicing through flesh like butter. The torso was comparable to that of a human but larger, broader with pronounced skeletal and muscular features. But its head—Its head was large with canine features: elongated snout, pointed ears, and a mouth full of dangerously sharp, dripping teeth.
Tabby was frozen to the spot with wide eyes, tears on her lashes, and only one coherent thought: Daryl.
Had it killed him?
The creature paused with a walker’s head in its grasp, raising its snout to sniff the air—and turned its black gaze right to where she was hiding.
“Oh fuck.” She whispered, stumbling backwards before she turned around and began to run back to the camp. There was a roar unlike any she had ever heard from somewhere behind her but then the sound of more walkers being dispatched. “Dog!” Tabby screamed, relieved when the canine poked his head out of the tent. “Dog, come! We have to find Daryl!” She saw the archer’s pack on the ground, choking on a sob. Why would he go anywhere without supplies? “Come, Dog! We have to—”
When she turned, she was face to face with an open maw of pointed fangs, rivulets of thick saliva stretching and falling to the leaves. She lifted her foot to take a step back, watching its eyes lower and then rise before it growled. She couldn’t die. Not now. She hadn’t survived years of slow moving corpses to be taken out like this when she was so close to everything she could have ever wanted, apocalypse or not.
“Dog.” She whispered, oddly concerned that the canine hadn’t made a single sound. She started to risk a glance but didn’t have to look far. Dog was sitting calmly at her side, looking up at the creature with his tongue hanging out the side of his open mouth.
Movement in front of her brought Tabby’s eyes forward. A huge, clawed hand was reaching for her, slowly. She whimpered, raising her shoulders and screwing her eyes shut. The touch on her face was shockingly gentle. When it pulled away, she released the breath she had been holding and opened her eyes. It was backing away.
It made a noise before things began to shift. Bones and colors and size, shrinking and morphing until—
“Daryl?!”
He was naked as the day he was born, a hand out against a tree to balance himself as if the change had sapped his energy. The look he was giving her was unreadable, so many emotions flitting across his face that she couldn’t pinpoint just one.
“Ya weren’t s’posed to come here.” He whispered.
“Yeah, I get that now.” She snapped. “What the fuck is going on?” He stepped toward and when she stepped back, his expression crumbled.
“You’re afraid of me now.” He choked on a sob, his chin quivering. Daryl walked briskly past her and grabbed his pack, jerking out clothing and proceeded to begin dressing himself. “Ya can go if ya want.” The tremble in his voice made it clear that wasn’t what he truly wanted. Besides, she came to tell him something and now, more than ever, it seemed more imperative.
“Daryl, I—” The redhead braved a step toward him, visibly trembling. Yes, she was afraid. Even so, something in her gut told her that he would never hurt her. She was afraid because she didn’t understand. She needed to know what this meant for her. How it changed things. “I need an explanation. I need to know—”
Tabby paused, standing straighter when he went still with his shirt halfway pulled over his shoulders. Daryl sniffed the air—once, then twice—and turned to her, his brow creased. “Ya smell diff’rent.”
“You can smell me? Like—a dog?”
“Lycan.” He corrected, pulling his shirt the rest of the way down. The archer began to step toward her, but she consciously made her feet stay planted.
“Lycan?” Tabby queried, blinking.
“Werewolf.” Daryl stated calmly, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. He was nearly in front of her now, taking a moment to lean in and inhale through his nose once again. “Why do ya smell diff’rent?”
“New body wash?” She giggled nervously, a fine shaking to her person but still not moving away.
He actually dared to look insulted. “Ain’t like that, Tabby-cat. S’ya scent. Your smell. Ain’t your clothes or soap or perfume. S’you.” The jig was up. She had to tell him and then he’d need to her what it meant; if it was dangerous. What she needed to do.
“So,” The redhead dropped her gaze, toeing at the rocks. “What happens when—lycans?” He nodded. “When lycans and humans have sex and that results in the creation of a little being?”
Daryl stood up straight, looming over her in a way that had never intimidated her before that moment. “You’re—pregnant?” Tabby nodded, her chin quivering. Daryl barked out a laugh and doubled over, hands on his knees.
She stared with wide blue eyes, incredulous. “You’re seriously laughing right now?”
The hunter shook his head and stood up with an expression of pure relief. “Thought ya’d got bit. Didn’t have the—dead stench but I didn’t know how else to take it. Ya weren’t s’posed to be able.” He sobered quickly, reaching cautiously for her shoulders. When she didn’t back away, he pulled her in against him. “Anyway, aint been through it ‘fore n’ haven’t ran into many others like me, but s’far s’I know, ain’t no diff’rent than a human. Just—” he trailed off, easing his hold on her so that she could move back a little.
Tabby looked up at him, fear present in her trembling orbs. “Just what?”
Daryl bit his lip nervously. “Kid’ll have the curse. Ain’t no two ways ‘bout it. Don’t know how much or how lil’ it’ll show up. Could be born like a pup, could be human. Could change immediately, could take months, years. S’a lot I don’t know.” He let her go and turned away. “M’sorry. Didn’t think ya’d ever—”
Tabby stood in stunned silence, completely overwhelmed and more than a little frightened. One thing hadn’t changed, though. She didn’t think it ever would. She stepped up after a deep breath, wondering if he already knew she was closer because of super hearing or smell. Regardless, she wrapped her arms around him and nuzzled her head between his shoulder blades, pushing back the mental image of them snapping and shifting only a few minutes before.
She still loved him. He was still somehow her Daryl, even if she had a lot to learn.
“I’m scared. You can’t blame me for that.” She felt more than heard him sigh. “But I’m not scared of you.” Now a sharp intake of breath, blue eyes searching for her over his shoulder. Tabby leaned back, only enough for him to turn within her embrace, pressing herself right back into his chest. His arms encircled her immediately, warm and familiar. “I’m scared for our baby, what it means for them. What sort of life they’ll have to lead. What precautions we’ll have to take.”
Daryl nodded but didn’t interrupt.
“I do know that I want this and I want it with you.” She smiled against his shirt, squeezing him tighter. “We’ll figure it out. Together.”
“Together.” He repeated softly, a hand coming up to cradle the back of her head.
Pulling back, she gave him an all too familiar smirk, a mischievous twinkle in her wet eyes. “So, if I scratched behind your ear, would your leg shake?”
“Stop.”

You had already lost the track of time, how long have you been locked in thag dark room? You didn’t know, it felt like na eternity specially when you were being tortured… the time ran so slow…
They knew about him. They wanted him, and they knew you were the way to get him… or at least they thought it. It had been already three days and you didn’t open your mouth yet.
The door grated and a strong light hit your face, blinding you. 2 men entered the room and turned on the lights. “Is today the day you’re going to tell us what we need, sweetie?” The one that seemed to be the boss said.
“I already told you, you better kill me.” You smiled, what contrasted a lot with how you looked at the moment, dry blood all over you, bruises and cuts on your face.
“You better tell where that monster is, or we’re going to continue torturing you.” The disgusting man said. “I’m not one to beat women, you know? But Bob here is. And you know he can have a good time with you.”
“So let Bob show me what he can do. I don’t care, I’m not saying anyth…” Before you could finish you felt a sharp pain in your leg, son of a bitch Bob had stabbed you.
You screamed, but no word left you.
“Where’s it, sweetheart?” Bob asked you while he separated his tools in the order he would use on you today. You were already well acquainted with them.
“On your ass.” You answered receiving a strong punch on your face. You felt blood in your mouth.
“Not much of a talker now, ain’t you?” He curved himself, his face in the same height as yours and a gross smile on his face. “You don’t need to be so loyal, the monster isn’t…”
He was cut off by your bloody spit on his face.
“You bitch!”
He raised his pulse one more time to hit you, but before he could do it, screams were heard coming from the corridors, shots and furniture being thrown. The man stopped. You heard a loud growl and you knew it… he came to rescue you.
“Starting to regret your actions already?” You asked a smirk on your face and a scared look on their faces.
