Berserk really isn’t smth I’d recommend to someone without knowing them & my 8 page trigger warning guide. It’s misogynistic at nearly every turn. But at the same time I can’t help but be drawn to Casca specifically, (& Serpico but that’s for catboy reasons) having dealt with misogynistic abuse & chronic disassociation at the time of reading. I suppose it’s something like recognition of myself in another, despite how poorly her story was handled.

#Casca I love you ):#I think also my first impressions are different than someone whose been following the story for a while #When I read it I was unaware it went on since the 80s and Casca was left in this state for literal decades #I had a poor grasp on how long manga/comics take & assumed it was shorter running #I just have so many mixed feelings on it. The story of preserving in a difficult world gave me something to cling to last year #but the fans are a whole other breed of terrible people. theres one person i respect here and they only post serpico
