pinned post
(my previous pinned post was getting a little old, so i thought i’d spice it up a little.)
hey! i’m hari- pronounced ha-ree. if you pronounce it as ‘hairy’ i’ll maul you
i’m 17 yrs old, and hang around unova. um. here’s me. and my pokemon.
Maru is my ace, and very first pokemon. I’ve had her for more than.. about 14 years. He’s never left my side, and is very caring to those she loves. He also loves shiny things- to the point that when she evolved with all the things she’s collected in his wax, they carried to his evolution! Maru loves battling, and is very strong to boot. She has a track record for taking on foes almost twice his level- and doing so trilling happily. How could you not love her? [she/he, around level 57]
Mal, long story short, is a shithead. fuck them. Affectionately. They’re missing one eye, but loooves not only going into electronics, but creating them. They created their own main inhabitant- A prosthetic arm, which makes them electric/steel type. A smartass who loves causing trouble, AND steals my phone (more on that later). I care for them, though, and they care for me. I guess that counts for something. [they/them (rotoms are genderless lmao), around level 55]
Miss Tye is very temperamental, but is very loyal and protective of those she loves (especially Charm.) Her and her ‘sister’, Charm, stowed away on a ship from Galar, and appeared in Unova. She’s very sweet when she has a reason to be, but pretty easy to anger. She hits, and hits hard in battle, so she’s quite the force to be reckoned with. [she/her, around level 55]
Charm had appeared with Miss Tye, and was a milcery at the time. She had wanted to evolve for so long, so much so she kept her bow sweet, even after it broke in half. I gave her a berry sweet, but the bow sweet kept with her! Her cream is of salt and mint (two of my favs!!). Apparently, she wanted to evolve like so, so she could be blue, like her ‘sister,’ Tye. She is not much of a battler, so If I get a new pokemon, They may be on my team. Charm prefers to be a support in double battles, and she’s very good at it. [she/her, around level 30]
Locket just.. appeared in my house? I was on vacation, and upon coming back, we had an egg. I didn’t expect him to be a shiny when he hatched, but I love him very much!! I use him when I come across low-level trainers that challenge me to a battle. Otherwise, it would be no fun. [he/him, around level 10]
Arom is the only pokemon I’ve received as a gift- I got her as an applin from my (girl)friend, Maxie. She often competes with charm as to who smells better. A friend-of-a-friend sent me the Dragon Cheer TM, so I can evolve her, but I think I’ll wait a bit. [she/her, around level 53]
There’s a few pokemon that appear that I haven’t caught- and they don’t want to be caught. They stick around. I like them.
Jackie is a gengar, and he’s one of the owners of the little house I reside in. Apparently, him and Rasp used to be rivals ‘back in the day’ (126 old ass…) but now be spends his time being lazy (I say this affectionately), bothering rasp (I’m convinced they’re married in some weird way), or just fucking around. He’s cool. Would give good hugs if he wasn’t. Yknow. Part poison type. [he/him]
Rasp is a trevenant, and he’s the second owner of where I stay. I would say he’s like a mother, if he wasn’t a 126 year old gay tree. Very galarian (yuck/j). I do love him a lot, as I have him to thank for teaching me how to cook. (Arc knows what I’d be doing if I didn’t have a hobby.) He keeps all the shitheads living here from burning the damn house down, and hell, if that isn’t an achievement, I dunno what is. [he/him]
Sev is a Dhelmise- arc knows how old he is at this point- and he often travels from unova to alola to paldea, and more. I don’t have much to say about him, considering that I don’t see him often (I mean, he’s in unova like.. 1/4 of the time, anyways. and it’s not like he’s straying away from the sea.) [he/him (why are there so many gay old men)]
there’s gonna be a few other bloggers you see me interact with a lot so, it may be helpful to give a small introduction. i guess.
by the by, I’d recommend checking them out. not JUST because they’re cool and awesome and deserve love, but because it’s possible for pronouns to change. gender is a tricky thing, no?
@mmaxie-musings is my. um. girlfriend. She openly states that she’s a psychic, so I think mentioning it here is okay. met her in the woods, because her ditto wandered off into the woods I live in. the rest is history, as they say! [she/her]
@pkmntrainertrix and @uva-academy-vio are my fellow ghostboys!!! first people I met on this site. we’re weird, have odd relations with gender, but boy is close enough, and we like ghosts. what more could you want in a friend group? [it/he for trix, and he/him for vio!!]
@itshaunting-pkmn is my brother (in spirit. not by blood, but we call eachother brothers), and we met in some pkmn center some time ago, because he got big ol eyes at Maru and started awkwardly asking me questions. Aaaand then it turned out he’s also on rotomblr. and then we just. got closer! [he/him]
@alamos-garden-lover is a darkrai. yeah, i’m not kidding. I didn’t believe that at first either, but you kinda start to after you, yknow, send an ask his way asking for a nightmare because I can’t sleep anyways? ..yeah. but really, he’s very sweet, even if she’s a bit anti-social. i went to alamos to see her once, and I truly can’t wait to go back to see my dad agai- to see DARKRAI again. she’s not my dad and I don’t see him as my dad. totally. [he/she]
@aco-knight is the resident Creature (trix coming in a close second on the Creature scale), and it’s just a little bastard. other honorary non-blood-related sibling, because apparently darkrai’s just. Mentally adopted me (i’m not complaining) and I got aco as part of the little package deal (also not complaining). I saw ‘em when I traveled to paldea, but they just. Fuck around and teleport sometimes. It does that. It does a lot of things, get used to it. [they/it]
so, uh, yeah! i know that was a lot, but i guess it’s better to have info here, in case you need it.
my Rotom REGULARLY steals my phone, and refuses to post on their own. So, their tag for posting is “MAL’Z POSTZ”
i. am nnnooooot the best when it comes to interacting with others, so be a little patient! i’m just a fan of ghost types and battling, nothing too special about me.
Because I’m a normal human. Totally.
CURRENT EVENT: none
//ooc in readmore!
hey! finally redid the pinned, because this is waaay more organized. but, the ooc? lol. I’m just gonna copy and paste what I had. blehhhh :P
(oh and, P.S. - in case you forgot, the runner of this blog is @aimless-aimz !!! hi!! that’s me!!!!! i don’t bite, and I have a few interests other than pokemon, but you could find more pkmn art on my blog rather than this one.)
More will be revealed about hari and his team as time goes on!! please interact if ur a pokeblogger!!!! try to stay in character with this guy ok? lol
ooc storytelling will be tagged "hari's stories"!! they are often from askgames, but PLEASE request some if you ever get a prompt idea for this guy... you could ask about his past, present, and sometimes future!!
the current events each have tags for things related to their story! So far, we have the events “mourn the nineteenth”, “galarian imports”, “charm evolves”, “trip to alamos”, “unexpected egg”, “rebirth on the 26th”, "entombed event", and "Paldea trip". look at the tag to learn more!
there’s a tag for more serious stuff: that’s tagged as “lore”. Another lore heavy tag is “Forlorn presence”.
ofc, no generally unpleasant people, you get the drill. please send asks!!! :)
magic anons are on, too. please send asks!!!!!! this blog’s activity is mainly correlated to its interaction :)
also, small tidbit- you can do pelliper mail, but don't deliver a dusk stone. maru is gonna stay a lampent for a while because hari cant find one. so. when the time comes she'll evolve, but. yeah
..wow, you really read all this? that’s cool. um. thanks! the interaction and enthusiasm is appreciated a lot :]c

Thoughts while watching Ahsoka Ep 5!!
There was a lot of yelling into my hands in just the first 15 minutes
WOWEEE we haven't event started to watch and we're already emotional because HAYDEN IS THERE IN ALL HIS ANAKIN GLORY ON THE HOME PAGE BANNER *sobs in prequel fan*
"Ahsoka confronts her past" we have still not even started and the episode description has me on the edge of my seat for the crumbs I'm desperate for
Yes those crumbs are live-action Rex. Don't worry I have my clown hat ready next to me.
Oh my god was that a clone trooper helmet???
Dear god i need to calm down
ANYWAY
Dave loves his samurai vibes
Jacen and Chopper will continue to make me emotional until I die
Hera and Din Djarin should meet about parenting styles
Jacen popping out behind Chopper
HUYANG WITH SABINE'S HELMET
"I told them to stay together" OH MY GOD I NEED TO GIVE HUYANG A HUG 😭
The title is "Shadow Warrior"?????? Fuck this is giving Maul crumbs
She's still so excited to see him oh my god I'm still not ready for this
"You look old" ABSOLUTELY FIRE OFF THE BAT SNIPS AND SKYGUY I'M CRYING
Oh my god we're getting live-action Anakin teaching Ahsoka guys we ARE GETTING LIVE ACTION PADAWAN AHSOKA AND MASTER ANAKIN
Is this like the ghost of christmases past but Star Wars?
"I'm here to finish your training" alright, now actually crying. Why do these two do this to me dear god Tay
"It's a little late for that"
Every time Hayden says "Snips" a year is added to my life
NO WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING
WHY IS THIS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED TOO
I desperately hope Hayden did all that saber work because that choreography was siiiiiick already and we just started
"We have no hope of following" USE THE PERGILL
How fucking funny would it be if Din and Grogu just showed up and Carson was like "This is my buddy I call whenever something weird happens"
Heyo love Jacen saying there's something about the water and then the little force trill plays when Hera turns
Let you weird force sensitive kid tell you about the water
Seriously, I feel like Hera and Din need to start a "force sensitive kid" parent support group. They're the only two members. It's just the two of them talking about the weird shit their kid pulled off
Ok yeah fucking cool with the lightsabers in the waves. You go Jacen!
"HIS FATHER KANAN JARRUS" WE HAVE LIVE ACTION CANON KANAN JARRUS LADIES AND GENTS OH MY GOD
LOLOLOLOL at Carson just going "Yeah ok fine whatever"
ANAKIN SABER TWIRL ANAKIN SABER TWIRL
Now that wasn't very nice Skyguy
Seriously, is this the night before christmas Star Wars edition because I'm here for it
THE FUCKING GASP I MADE WHEN THE CLONE TROOPER RAN OUT OF THE FOG
ARE WE GETTING LIVE ACTION CLONE WARS OH MY GOD ARE WE GETTING LIVE ACTION CLONE WARS
I'VE PAUSED THE EPISODE BECAUSE I'M SHAKING OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
OH MY GOD IS SHE IN HER CLONE WAS OUTFIT??????????
IT'S STILL PAUSED BABES I HAVEN'T MOVED FROM 12:42 BECAUSE I AM UNABLE TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION RIGHT NOW
Ok ok ok, hitting play
NEVER MIND WE ARE PAUSED AGAIN THAT IS 501ST BLUE I REPEAT THAT IS 501ST BLUE

THAT IS LIVE ACTION ANAKIN CLONE WARS ARMOR
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD LOOK AT HER SHE LOOKS INCREDIBLE OH MY GOD
We are only 13:22 into the episode and I've paused yet again because Hayden Christensen is in Clone Wars Anakin armor and I'm so overjoyed and overwhelmed by the site of it and there's baby clone wars snips right there and oh my god the jaig eyes are right around the corner I know it and I'm not ready
Her green saber 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
So help me if those jaig eyes show up
Hayden looks so amazing I'm so happy
SO HELP ME IF THOSE JAIG EYES SHOW UP IN A FUCKING MEDICAL SCENE
IT'S 15:06 AND HE'S SO FAR IN THE DISTANCE BUT HE'S RIGHT THERE HE'S RIGHT THERE ON MY SCREEN HE'S LIVE ACTION OH MY GOD
SHE'S JUST A BABY
THEY'RE SO SNIPS AND SKYGUY
"What if I want to stop fighting" "Then you'll die" ok stab me in the heart Dave that's fine
LOOK AT REX RUNNING INTO THE FOG WITH HIS DUAL BLASTERS
It was a crumb but it was the most scrumptious crumb
Oh fuck the flash to Vader DAM
I'm serious I would fucking die laughing if Din and Grogu showed up like "Hey, we're here to help the search party. Carson beeped us"
Errbody talking about Anakin this episode huh
"Intense" lol Huyang was not an Anakin stan
The Jacen-Chopper friendship is everything I needed without knowing I needed it
LIVE. ACTION. SIEGE. OF. MANDALORE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? LIVE. ACTION. SIEGE. OF. MANDALORE??????????????????????????
We are 21:32 into this episode and I've had to pause (not exaggerating) 7 times to yell into my hands
LOOK AT HIM RUNNING AROUND IN THE BACKGROUND TAKING DOWN MANDALORIANS
HE LOOKS SO GOOD
We got past the clone wars flashback and I made peace with myself we wouldn't hear him speak but oh my fucking god what if he speaks now
Yes we're still paused, yes this episode will probably take twice as long for me to get through purely because of Rex sightings
OH MY GOD HE SPOKE
OH MY GOD IT'S TEM REX IT'S TEM REX
Why am I crying why does Star Wars do this to me
Hearing Temeura Morrison refer to Ahsoka as Commander in Rex's armor makes me want to cheer and cry at the same time
Awwww Hayden's Canadian came out when he said "about"
NOT BABY SNIPS FIGHTING VADER NO NO NO
Ok these fucking flash cuts to Vader's suit are fucking sick
OK DISTORTED HAYDEN AND VADER VOICE
YO CAN WE TALK ABOUT HER BRINGING THE SABER UP AND THE LIGHT REFELCTING IN HER EYES TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SHE TURNED SITH FOR A HOT SECOND HOLY SHIT
Bye Hayden I love you
Ok so this is the Star Wars A Christmas Story, you can't tell me otherwise
Mysterious goop rising up? That's a nope from me dawg
WE'RE ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH THE EPISODE???
Seriously holy fucking shit everyone say "Thank you, Dave" holy shit holy shit this is is Mona Lisa, this is his Last Supper, this is his Pieta, he loves these characters and Star Wars so much oh my god
WAH so jarring to see her without her little headpiece thing
It's like when Echo showed up in TBB without his Kama I was like "SIR YOU ARE NAKED" I'm having the same feeling with her
AHSOKA TAKE ON JACEN AS A PADAWAN TAKE ON JACEN AS A PADAWAN
"We were hoping you could explain what happened" well, ya see, we were stubborn per usual
She's so Gandalf the White right now
OH MY GOD TAKE HIM AS YOUR PADAWAN DAM IT
Yas force visions for the win
(WHERE IS QUINLAN DAVE)
Anyway
Like literally the Gandalf imagery is so obvious
USE THE PURGILL
My babygirl needs so much therapy I love her
USE. THE. PURGILL.
I swear if I was in Star Wars they'd all have their answers in 1/4 of the time
Ahsoka is so dramatic I love her freaking lineage so much they love overdramatic entrances my god
Oh hello Gandalf
She could honestly get me to do anything with her little side smile I love her so much
What a fucking love letter to Star Wars this show is
Carson if the friend of all friends. "Hey make sure the fleet doesn't get near us" "yeah sure I can do that" stalls said fleet via ridiculous chatter
Hera tells Jacen about Ezra 😭😭😭😭
Cannot wait to see all the cosplay of this fit of Ahsoka's, this grey and white is siiiiiiick
Would fly to wherever Dave Filoni is to shake his hand if it ended with the purgill just taking a chomp and thus killing them. Would be so freaking funny
Oh hello shot tribute to inside the asteroid worm in ESB
"No idea" I. FREAKING. LOVE. HER. THIS. IS. SNIPS. I'M. DYING.
Look at her learning her little Jedi lessons
"Jacen's too young to fly through galaxies" fucking mom of the year
THIS IS AN UTTERLY STUNNING SHOT?????

Knd x AWISC part 7.(Warning: more transphobia and homophobia.)
(The two brothers arrive at school, park the car, and enter the building, they go to talk to Carter and Linda before class starts.)
Linda: Monty, Benedi-
(Benedict hugs Linda as silent tears ran down his face.)
Linda: What's wrong, Ben?
(Benedict doesn't answer, he just continues to hug her and cry silently.)
Linda: Monty, what happened?
Monty: He had a nightmare where you died...
Linda: Oh...It's okay, it was just a nightmare...
Benedict: I hope I never hurt you.
Linda: Huh?
Benedict: I accidentally ran you over in the nightmare.
Linda: You could never hurt me, so don't worry about it.
(Benedict continues to cry and Monty, Linda, and Carter try to find a way to cheer him up.)
Carter: Say, how about I invite you, Monty, and Linda to my place on Saturday, will that make you feel better?
Benedict: You mean like when we were kids?
Carter: Yeah, just the four of us rolling in the dirt and playing in the woods like the good old days, we can even make dinner together.
Benedict: I would love that...
Carter: I knew you'd say yes. Oh, but you do know all of my siblings are gonna be there, right?
Benedict: So?
Carter: Well the family has grown since the last time you three have visited.
Monty: By how much?
Carter: Two.
Monty: Two?
Linda: Doesn't that mean you have six little siblings now?
Carter: Yeah.
(The three take a bit to fully process the information.)
Monty: That won't be a problem for me.
Linda: Me neither.
Carter: How about you, Benedict?
Benedict: I'm sure I can adjust.
Carter: Alright then, can't wait to spend all Saturday with you guys, bye.
(The four say goodbye and went on their separate ways.)
Kenneth: Hello, Eggs Benedict.
Benedict in thought: (God, I hate that stupid nickname!)
(Kenneth noticed that Benedict made an angry face similar to his.)
Kenneth: Are you really a sheep?
Benedict: What?
Kenneth: You say you're a sheep but you seem to snarl like a fellow dog.
Benedict: I don't snarl like a dog.
Kenneth: Yes you do, your angry face looks just like mine, see?
(He shows Benedict his angry face.)
Kenneth: So, why don't you just admit to actually being a fellow canine?
Benedict: You know, you're being inconsiderate!
Kenneth: I am?
Simon: Mrow...
Kenneth: I have been...
Benedict: Yeah, not only did you touch my tail without permission, you call me Eggs Benedict without considering that it might piss me off and even had the audacity to assume I'm a canine just because I have a few canine behaviors.
Kenneth: I'm so sorry and you're right, I am being inconsiderate, I've been trying to work on that.
Benedict: I accept your apology.
Kenneth: You don't have to answer this, but why do you have a few canine behaviors?
Benedict: It's because Monty and I were adopted and raised by a wolf, so I kind of adopted some of her behaviors.
Kenneth: Okay.
Mrs.Flutterby: Alright, everyone, it's time for class.
Kenneth: See you later, Benedict.
Benedict: See you later, Kenneth.
(Benedict goes through his classes and went to drama club where he reunited with Monty, Carter, and Linda.)
Benedict: Hey, guys.
Monty, Carter, and Linda: Hi, Benedict.
Mr.Eucalus: Alright, Everyone, Timothy has picked the roles for everybody.)
Timothy: Zoe will be the main character, Isabella, a female predator trying to get predators and prey to stop fighting and live in peace. I will be Richard, Isabella's handsome boyfriend, that dies a tragic death. Jacob will be the leader of the prey army who is mauled to death by Isabella to end the war and the other prey will be the prey soldiers while Ramona will be the leader of the predator army and the other predators will be the predator soldiers.
Linda: How do you know my dead name!?
Timothy: I paid the principal to give me the folder that contains your real name.
Benedict: Mr.Eucalus, this shit should be illegal!
Mr.Eucalus: I'm sorry, but money rules our society.
Timothy: That's right, you can't do shit, you cross-dressing f**got supporter.
Benedict: Go to Hell!
MS.Barkson: Benedict, please calm down.
Benedict: But Timothy's being a an insufferable piece of shit!
MS.Barkson: I know, but there's nothing we can really do.
Benedict: (growls)
(After drama club ended, Benedict complains about how shitty Timothy has made everyone's lives since he got here.)
Benedict: Timothy has made everyone's life a living Hell!
Arthur: I know, right!
Benedict: Right, I wish a predator would just brutally tear him apart!
Arthur: I would tear him apart myself if I was a predator, how about you?
(Benedict feels hesitant about saying yes because it might bring out predatory instincts.)
Benedict: I don't know, as satisfying it would be, I don't think it would be worth being sent to life in prison.
Arthur: That's understandable, but for me, I wouldn't care if I went to jail, as long as that asshole was finally dead.
Monty: Hey, Benedict, are you coming?
Benedict: Yes, brother. Goodbye, Arthur.
Arthur: See you, Benedict. If you ever need someone to talk to when Timothy is infuriating you, I'll be here.
Benedict: Thank you...

Ocean Away Part 2 (Chishiya Shuntaro x Reader)
A/N: Hi! How are you?
Sorry for the delays for part 2. But here you are 😊
I’m sorry if the story felt rushed, but I would be editing the story once it has been finished for a more detailed version of the story.
Thank you so much for the support for part 1. The notes on this one is amazing currently at 119 notes…. Thank you so much! Hopefully part 2 won’t disappoint.
And I want to tag @eggbutnotyolk and @kaiorik , Thank you for commenting and the support! <3
I won’t take so much of the space here.
Please enjoy part 2! :)
-----+------
“Far away, an ocean away. Where I won’t let you hurt me again.” – Loreen, Ocean Away.
------+-------
“Don’t leave me.”
“I won’t.”, You lied.
Around 12 noon, you awoke from your bed. You around your room to see a note on the bedside cabinet,
“I will be meeting up with Kuina for just a bit.” – Chishiya.
Then suddenly memories of last night came rushing back on your mind…
You’ll be leaving Chishiya.
Suddenly tears fell down your body, with the memories of last night, your talk with your uncles and after that with him… It was so fucked up on how much you doubt your plan right now. Is this how he can easily manipulate you into thinking things?
Every night that you two have been together, his body is so warm that you love being with him, but the feelings he portrays, they lack emotions, it was so cold that she would give so much time and space. She would always wait for him to come to her instead.
The game that he plays is dangerous. He is willing to give up everything, even her.
*Flashback*
“Chishiya! Help me! I’m drowning!” you looked at the man you loved the most, he looked back with the coldest eyes that you have ever seen, then he took off.
You screamed loudly for his name, but he didn’t come back.
“Y/N!!!” you heard someone scream your name, hoping that it was Chishiya that he might just went and took some back up.
As you slowly went down, you felt someone pull you from the water, as you were place on land, you coughed hard and tears started to form from your eyes, it suddenly hurt to breathe in and out, but you needed to breathe.
You quickly look at the person who saved you. It was Arisu.
“Arisu…” You said as you slowly started to cry, you couldn’t even form any sentence right now with the outburst of feelings that you have inside, “I.. I thought… I… No…Chishiya… Why?” you tried to speak, as you looked into Arisu’s eyes for answers. You suddenly grabbed Arisu’s sleeves for support. You saw in his eyes that he was worried and pained with the panicked and crying form that you are in.
“Why?! Arisu… Arisu….? Chishiya… left me….” You continue to break down, you let go of Arisu’s sleeve and you placed both hands on your face.
Arisu suddenly hugged you, “I’m sorry… This is all I could offer you.”
The sadness, dread, disappointment, and the pain are now mixing all in together. Now all you could think of is wishing that you died than suffering under Chishiya’s side.
“why?” you said through tears with the only answer is pure silence.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“HATTER! HATTER! HATTER!” Everyone screamed and cheered their leader, who was leaving for a game with Aguni and you. Your uncle waved from the back seat and smiled at everybody for their immense support,
While your Uncle Aguni drove the car, you sat on the passenger seat. While the car is slowly leaving the Beach’s premises. You through the crowd and saw him.
He looked at you eye to eye, but you removed you eyes from his gaze. You didn’t want to leave him, but staying with him hurt a lot more.
As your uncle Aguni drove off, you uncle Hatter looked at you, “don’t be sad, my child. I know that the beach has everything you need and can ever ask for this world. But, remember, if you need some space from the people within my walls, you can always go a different location.”
You nodded your head, “Thank you Uncle Hatter and Uncle Aguni.”
“Just a bit of wait. We’ll be out of this country and we can have our lives back.” Aguni said as he took a turn to the arena, a school building.
“After this game, we will be driving you off to your hiding spot. It would be from the other side of Tokyo near Shibuya… We will keep track of you now and then. You will be joining games from the other side, just let us know what is going on, what games you played and what card you have received.” Hatter has explained, “And just to completely hide your identity from other players, you might need to change your hair color or maybe let you wear a mask.”
“Anyways, the place that we have chosen is near a mall, but we would still be providing for you as promised once we visit you again.” Aguni added,
“Noted.” You answered, as you got out of the car. You opened the car door for you uncle and helped him out, “Uncle Hatter, having a hard time getting out of the car?”
“I’m almost at my 30’s dear. I’m getting old.” He joked, “Wish I could go back to the simpler days.”
You smiled, “30 is not old uncle. Besides, you are still so full of life.”
As your Uncle Aguni got out of the car, “By the way… I followed your plan.” He said while looking at Hatter, “As dangerous as it sounds, but I told Niragi about the plan.”
Niragi wasn’t a good person. You’ve had some issues with Niragi and his awful behavior. Your uncle Aguni has explained and made it very clear with Niragi that you cannot be touched by him in anyway. You two had a very civil talk once after a game where you saved him from being mauled by a tiger, because he lost bullets from his riffle.
He became honest with his feelings that he didn’t thought that someone would save him.
Later he opened up being bullied in class, being thrown by rocks and there is a point system in it. You would always remember his glasses were 50 points and his crotch area is 100 points. He didn’t have any friends at all and even if people would see him being beaten up, no one came to his aid.
“I know that you don’t see me as your friend. But hiding from a sadistic silhouette won’t give you happiness. Yes, people are afraid of you, but that doesn’t ease the pain. I know, what they have done in the real world is wrong and un humane. But in the end of the day, you’re just human. We all have scars. And if you keep that inside, you’ll go insane… Actually, you are already. But, don’t go down further, Niragi. If you want someone to let out your outburst inside, I’m here.”
“Why do you…. Why are you so nice?” he asked,
“I don’t know. But it’s all I can give right now. You deserve it, even if you think you don’t.”
You kept his secrets, he’s still a douchebag with others after your encounter with him, but he became nice to you ever since.
Chishiya didn’t like the closeness between you and Niragi. Sometimes, he would interrupt a conversation between you and Niragi.
“Y/n… “ Chishiya said, intervening the conversation you have with Niragi, “Let’s go.” Extending his hands to hold your hand,
“Interrupting again? You make me angry, Chishiya. “, Niragi said with full annoyance, “Jealous, because your girlfriend is so fond of me?”
“hm….” Chishiya smirked, “I trust her that she won’t fall for someone who’s dumb witted as you.”
Things escalated very quickly, with Niragi pointing his riffle towards Chishiya’s head and Chishiya with his knife on Niragi’s neck,
“I’ll blow your head up, you fucker!” Niragi angrily said,
“Not if I slit your fucking throat.”
“STOP! STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!” You screamed, “Stop acting so fucking childish!”
They came to their senses and placed down their weapons, Niragi huffed with annoyance, he would have killed Chishiya if you didn’t stop him.
“I’ll go with Chishiya.” You looked towards Niragi, “I’m sorry Niragi. But I’ll talk again with you, okay? “
“Okay.” Niragi said in defeat. You touched his cheeks as a form of goodbye and then you left with Chishiya.
“Niragi knows about the plan?” you asked, looking through your uncle Hatter’s eyes,
“Yes. He’s like a back up that we have. He seems so fond of you, If ever that we can’t go towards your location due to meetings or maybe emergencies, we can secretly asked Niragi’s help.”
“Oh, at least… I have someone to talk to…” you said within you mind,
You started to walk with uncle to face the game that you will be all joining.
Hopefully, no one dies during this game.

You three finished the game and was granted 6 days of visa. You all drove off near Shibuya, and they have sent you to your new location. It was a hotel, it was two blocks away from a mall, which can give you supplies for your stay here.
You Uncle Aguni has handed you a walkie talkie, and tested it with his, Hatter and one of the Walkie for Niragi.
“You sure, you’ll be okay without us, dear?” Hatter asked once more,
You smiled, “Yes… I will be. I can talk to you any time with these walkie talkies. And If ever I’ll just give you a beep.” Then you hugged your uncle Hatter and then your Uncle Aguni.
“I know that you’re just keeping quiet, but you’ll miss me too, Uncle Aguni.” You teased, he smirked,
“Don’t get too cocky…” He said, but then he patted you gently on the head, “I would miss you…Just be careful here kid.”
“I will.” You smiled, after a few minutes, they were gone… Leaving you all alone.
Tears started to fall from your eyes, “I’m sorry, Chishiya…”

Everyone cheered on as Hatter and Aguni arrived, they chanted their names.
They went to the balcony and then Hatter raised his hands to stop the noise from the crowd below him.
He removed his sunglasses and he acted devastated…with tears on his eyes, he opened his mouth to speak.
“Thank you… Thank you for being happy that Aguni and I have come safe and sound from the war that we have joined tonight…” he said then stopped, he was now hearing whispers asking on where you are.
“You might have noticed that when we left, we have brought our precious y/n… We have a terrible news to tell… A death of an executive has happened… the death of our sweet child, y/n…”
Everybody went silent shocked to hear that one of the best players have died.
“She sacrificed her life for us… But…” Hatter wiped his fake tears on his face, “We will not let her death go in vain… We promised that we would complete the cards and in the end; we will survive this country and get out of this soon on her behalf. We need you all to fulfill this promise for her not just for her but also for yourselves…”
Unknown to everybody, a person on the floor above the balcony has been watching the whole scene, Chishiya, who has heard the news, ran towards your room. Thinking that this might me a sick joke that Hatter has brought to everybody.
But he was greeted by an empty room.
He tried to search everywhere, but you were gone.
He stopped looking for you and he went in front of your room door again.
He has mixed feeling about everything, he placed his hand to his chest. He felt a different kind of loneliness inside his chest.
“What would you do If I suddenly got lost or disappeared?” He remembers your question last night.
“This might be some sick joke…” he whispered to himself, “It’s impossible for you to die… not now.” As he was about to leave your door step, he saw Aguni walking towards him,
“Interesting.” He heard Aguni said while walking towards him, “what are you doing here?”
“I was just passing by.” Chishiya kept a straight face, “why did you let her die?”
Aguni smirked, “Caring now, Cheshire? It doesn’t suit you at all.”
“Hm.” Chishiya didn’t speak, but instead let Aguni walk by past him.
When Aguni was already 1 feet away from Chishiya, “Don’t fake it too much… Isn’t this what you wanted? To see her dead? That’s why you left her in one of the games?”
Chishiya turned around to answer his question, but Aguni was gone.
“Don’t leave me…”
“Why?” Chishiya asked to nobody as he remembers you..

HBIC Marinette – Chapter Two

Sorry it took so long for the next chapter. If I stop writing I have to go back and read what was there and it just reads so badly to me so I have to start over. To make up for it, I tried to make this chapter extra long, but I don’t know if it came across that way.
First - Last - Next
Hell hath no fury like Marinette scorned. On the outside she appeared calm, almost peaceful, but on the inside she was plotting. She doubted the class would take the fallout quietly so she needed to be prepared. The bell on the door jingled as she stepped inside. Her maman perked up hearing the bell. “Marinette! How was school today?” “Eventful,” she replied, “can I talk to you and papa about something? It’s important.” “Of course,” Sabine replied, “please flip the sigh to closed will you?” Marinette nodded and flipped the sign, locking the door for good measure. From there she was ushered upstairs.
“So what do you need to talk to us about? Did you find your sketchbook?” Sabine inquired, her hands folded gently on her lap. “You remember Lila right? The girl who falsified my expulsion?” “She’s the one with the lying disease right?” Tom replied. Marinette forced herself to not roll her eyes. Lila literally said she had a lying disease and was still believed. “Yes and yes. Lila was the one who took it and tore it apart,” Marinette pulled the broken sketchbook from her backpack. Sabine gasped. Tom rubbed her shoulder. “Most of my class did as well. Except for Adrien, Chloé, Sabrina, and Nathanael.” Sabine frowned. “Was it your commission book?” “No, thankfully. That one’s still here. This one was just doodles.” Marinette put the sketchbook down on the table. “But I refuse to leave this unpunished. I just thought I’d let you know.” Tom grimaced but object. “Normally I would be against this,” Tom said, “but if you think it’s necessary then you have my support.” Sabine nodded in agreement. “Is there anything we can do to help?” “Outside of Chloé, Adrien, Sabrina, and Nathanael I don’t know who helped tear it apart and who tried to take it away so it wouldn’t get damaged,” Marinette began, “so until then could you refuse to serve anyone from my class that isn’t those three? Or at least not give them a discount? Or let them see me?” Not that anyone but Nathanael would visit from that small group. “Of course Marinette,” Sabine said, “we’re your parents. It’s our job to be there for you.” Marinette didn’t comment about how they believed Lila when she was expelled and instead shot herself into her parents arms, pulling them into a hug. “I’m going to go salvage what I can from this.” She said, picking up the sketchbook. “Let me know if anyone stops by.”
It took longer than Adrien would like to admit to pick out which sketchbook to buy for Marinette. This was the third shop he went to. “Oh for the love of god Adrikins will you just pick a sketchbook already?” Chloé snapped from beside him. Adrien staggered slightly before looking at her. “It’s not just a replacement but an apology.” He replied. “It needs to be perfect.” “There’s only so long before you father comes a calling and then you can’t give her the sketchbook at all.” She retorted, crossing her arms. Sabrina appeared next to the two blondes holding a 12 by 9 inch sketchbook. Adrien took it from her hands and inspected it. The cover was rather bland, only being a dull dark brown, but the quality of the paper was rather nice. It looked like something his father would use. He didn’t know Sabrina as well as he did Chloé but she clearly had an eye for these things. He supposed being friends with Chloé helped in that regard. “I also considered the idea of getting flowers for Marinette,” Sabrina added, “maybe they’ll act as a nice icebreaker before giving her the sketchbook.” “Sabrina, when you get married I will happily pay for the wedding.” Adrien said. Sabrina smiled. “I’ll hold it to you.” “Great we have a sketchbook can we go already?” Chloé hissed, clearly annoyed. “Yes Chlo, we can go pay and head out.” Adrien paid for the expensive sketchbook before hopping into a flower shop nearby, much to the chagrin of Chloé. One bouquet later and they was off to the Dupain-Cheng bakery.
“Welcome! How can I-” Sabine paused looking at the odd trio in front of her. Adrien, Chloé, and Sabrina, only two of which had ever been over. “We’re here to see Marinette.” Adrien replied, giving an awkward smile. If Sabine did know about the sketchbook, it’s possible she wouldn’t let them visit. Chloé and Sabrina’s less than perfect history with Marinette certainly wouldn’t help. “Of course, you remember how to get inside don’t you Adrien?” He nodded and slipped past the confused Sabine. Tom was equally as confused. “You’re here to see Marinette?” “Yep.” Adrien replied, popping the ‘p.’ “Feel free to grab something then, you’re practically skin and bones.” “Model diet,” Chloé retorted, as Adrien slipped the sketchbook under his arm. Marinette’s parents made the best baked goods. The trio moved efficiently through the house before sending Sabrina to knock on the trap door. A simple ‘who is it?’ rang from above. Sabrina pushed the trap door open. “Adrien and Chloé are also here.” Marinette ushered the three up. Adrien practically shoved the flowers in front of her. “Are these-” Marinette began. “Flowers? Yeah. Sabrina suggest I get some along with this,” he held the sketchbook out. Marinette placed the bouquet on her desk before delicately taking the sketchbook from him. She inspected it but found no price tag. “I heard the class damaged your sketchbook so I found it right to get you a new one.” “I can’t this accept, ugh I mean, I can’t accept this.” “Yes you can. You deserve nice things Marinette.” “Adrikins practically dragged me around Paris to find you that sketchbook. Take it.” Chloé said, inspecting her nails. “Ignore her,” Adrien replied, “it was my fault that you’re sketchbook got torn in the first place. I didn’t know how awful Lila could be.” “But you didn’t. I didn’t tell you that she threatened me-” Adrien, Sabrina, and Chloé’s heads whipped to look at her. “She threatened you?” Adrien’s voice was cold. It almost reminded her of M. Agreste’s during the brief time he heard it. “When exactly did she threaten you?” “When she first got back. In the bathroom. And she kind of did when I got briefly expelled.” “Well then it was definitely the wrong advice. I thought she was just lying for attention, not threatening you. That’s serious. I would’ve never made that deal if I knew how awful she was. I could’ve, I should’ve-” “Wait deal?” This time Sabrina spoke up. “The reason Lila works for Gabriel is because I made a deal to get her to lie Marinette back into class. I swore I told her to leave you alone to. It’s all my fau—why are you crying??!!”
And lo and behold, large tears dripped down Marinette’s cheeks, which she wiped away. “You did that for me?” “Of course, you’re my friend.” Adrien replied, pulling her into a hug. “And that’s what friend do right?” “Okay great, dirty laundry has been aired or whatever but can we get to the point people?” Chloé sniped. “What’s the point?” Marinette asked, stepping out of the hug, albeit reluctantly. “When you go maul the class to death, leave Sabrina, Adrikins, and I out of it. We’re not friends, but even I know not to ruin your stuff.” Marinette put the sketchbook down. “I will but I get to slap you with no consequences.” “You’ve got to be joking.” “You made my life hell and that’s getting off easy for the amount of crap you put me though.” “How about instead, I cover whatever expensive fancy fabrics you can’t buy for the next two months. I’d have to explain the smack to daddy after all” “Hm, make it four months.” Marinette replied. “Three.” “Deal.” Chloé turned on her heel. “Sabrina, let’s go.” The redhead followed but paused to wave goodbye. “I guess that’s my cue to leave as well.” Adrien replied. “And again, I’m sorry I didn’t help you sooner.” “You didn’t know. But you’ll stand up for me now right? When Lila opens her mouth to spew more lies?” “Of course Mari. I’ll be your alibi until the foreseeable future.” He pulled Marinette into a hug again, and impulsively kissed her cheek before leaving the building. It wasn’t until he was standing on the street, phone in hand to call the Gorilla did he realize what he had done.
“Oh god.”

June! I’m sick and I’m being a baby about it. How would the zabraks care for a sick partner? Feel free to throw the kids being cute and supportive in there too *hugs Cherry and Clementine*
Oh no!! Well never fear, I got you, and the babies have definitely got you
Maul, of course, is the attentive, slightly anxious caretaker. He has this issue where seeing you in any amount of discomfort makes him both terrified and perhaps a bit overbearing. While he wants to ensure you get enough rest to recover, he also can't get the thought out of his head that this could be some terrible, rare disease and he won't find out until it's too late. So... forget working. No one gets anything done. He hovers, brings you food and checks your temperature every five minutes. He eventually has to be carried out forcefully by Savage.
Still, he keeps the palace silent, and isn't afraid to crawl into the bed at your side, purring and feeling the unusual warmth of your body. You've always said his presence makes everything better... If that's the case, he dearly hopes this is enough.
Savage might as well be your nurse. He brings the food, the medicine to help with the symptoms, makes sure you're sleeping well. As the older sibling, he's formed a habit of taking extra care of his siblings, despite the fact that one is constantly angry and the other often pretends like he's not sick just to get out of having to take naps.
So he has his little schedule, bringing warm soups and lots of water to you, oftentimes feeding you if your strength isn't as good as it usually is. And if you need it, he'll lay his head on you, softly purring, wondering if the sound heals you the way you've talked about.
Feral checks in frequently, a sad little smile on his face as he whispers, "Hey..." into the dark room. He's the one that wants to make sure you know he's there, and that he loves you. He doesn't like making you feel alone, so he'll often offer to set up a cozy bed on the couch in case you want to be around with him.
But he has to give Cherry strict rules about being around you. Be quiet. No running. Don't run and leap onto you when you lay down (something that has happened before). She means well... it's just her attempt at cheering you up. But make no mistake, the little potato is incredible at cuddles, and will hoist herself onto your bed just to take a nap with you... Until she wakes back up and returns to terrorize her father.
Sunder thinks you're going to die. To be fair, your illness is a prominent one, and you're in no position to be doing anything, but it's not as bad as he seems to think. He watches you with his little puppy eyes, staring in concern and fear. He runs to fetch anything you ask for, and he's practically glued to the side of the bed until you're well... That is, unless he's got a kid to look after.
The thing is, Clementine doesn't really want to leave your side either. She stays in your bed, huddled against your side, feeling lonely if both you and Sunder aren't constantly with her in her little family unit. She asks about you and worries, missing when you were okay. And she tucks her plushie into bed with you when she can't be there, just so that you aren't lonely without her.
Riot, as he looks after you, tries to stay lighthearted in case you wanted to be cheered up. He makes jokes and tells funny stories as he holds cold washcloths against your forehead. And he sings songs as you take naps and rest with him. For much of it, he's got his elbows propped onto the edge of the bed, reminiscing about the past, just to give you something to listen to, pressing the back of his hand onto your forehead periodically just in case.
He's surprisingly well organized, knowing where medicine is if the symptoms become too unbearable, helping you change clothes if ever you become too uncomfortable, doing the dishes and cooking for you to bring back to bed. He's so happy to do it all, smiling for you the whole way through, telling himself you'll be fine in no time... Right?
Brutus grumbles about it, as per usual, muttering to himself, "Honestly, you've gone and gotten yourself sick? What the hell are you thinking, being so careless?"
And yet he does everything, every chore, every job around the house. He brings you a soup you've never seen, one he learned to make a long time ago. "It's good for you health, he says simply about it. It's enough to make you drink the whole portion immediately, causing a small, secret part of him to rise in pride.
And he rarely leaves you either. You don't know until you wake up one morning before him, finding him sitting on a chair by the window, head propped on his fist as it stays on the armrest. He's there, waiting for you to need something, to wake up hungry, or lonely, or anything in-between.

Entry 83: If I Had A Nickel For Every Murderous Teenage Furry Girl
Paralogue 18: Nutty Family
While Keaton is going to visit his daughter Velouria, ghost dudes show up. Then the battle begins. Somehow, this set up is even worse than Siegbert’s. This chapter has us fighting an army of magic users and faceless, with Dragon Veins that silence every enemy on the map that makes it a joke to beat. Halfway through the battle, Velouria shows up, drawn by Keaton’s scent.
After the battle, Velouria thanks Keaton for setting up such a fun game. They already used the idea of the teenage girl Laguz not understanding that war isn’t a game with Selkie. Keaton tells Velouria to go home, but she demands to join his pack. He says he doesn’t want her to join, but his wagging tail betrays him. Velouria gives him an acorn as a present and Keaton gives her a dead bat he tore up. The two of them then sniff each other, because they’re dogs.
Velouria
Keaton’s daughter. Naive, shares her father’s love of garbage. Also, she weirdly resembles Nah from Awakening. I don’t know if it’s intentional, because she doesn’t fit the pattern of other Awakening characters. I assume its just a similar design, like Hayato looking like Ricken. While we’re on the topic of design, Velouria’s white hair and little red riding hood motif are neat. Her personal skill, Goody Basket, gives her a luck percent chance to recover a bit of health each turn.
Support: Keaton/Velouria
C: Velouria sniffs and tickles Keaton. He gives her a hairball.
B: Keaton tells Velouria she's to clingy. She says that not clinging to Keaton is a punishment worse than death.
A: Keaton calls Velouria weird for being so attached, but she doesn't mind. Velouria explains that she's so clingy because she knows Keaton will die, possibly very soon cause of the war and shit, and that she already spent so much time alone in the deeprealm.
Review: Man, pairing up Keaton’s weirdness and Velouria’s weirdness makes this a really weird Support. Like seriously, stop sniffing each other. Other than that, this one is fine. A bit generic with the worry about parent dying, but not awful.
Support: Velouria/Mother
C: Velouria asks her mother for a hug and falls asleep in her arms.
B: Velouria asks her mother to leave the army so she'll be safe because Velouria needs her mother.
A: Velouria vows to get stronger to protect her mother.
Review: I’m not sure why this one hit so much harder than the Keaton Support, but I really enjoyed it. It portrays Velouria as a young, scared kid afraid of being alone again and that really works for me.
Support: Corrin/Velouria
C: Corrin throws out a bunch of junk in her room, including her teddy bear from when she was a child that apparently she's had with her this whole time. Velouria steals Corrin's garbage.
B: Velouria eats a dropped muffin off the floor.
A: Velouria gives Corrin a hairball as a present. Corrin gives it back because Velouria actually likes it.
Support: This one is shallow, but not awful; Velouria is so weird it’s amusing.
Support: Moron/Velouria
C: Velouria sniffs Corrin and shows him one of her treasures: a dust bunny.
B: Velouria gives Corrin a gift, a sword that he broke, because they are kindred spirits. I don't know how Corrin broke a sword in a game with indestructible weapons, but whatever its fine. Also Corrin gets mauled by a weasel with rabies.
A: Velouria gives Corrin more treasures. Corrin says the only treasure he needs is her friendship, so she gelafully asks for the treasures back.
S: Corrin proposes. Velouria like the box more than the ring.
Review: Velouria is just Keaton 2.0, isn’t she? Setting that aside, this one was fine, but forgettable. Corrin getting mauled is funny, though. The rabies explains why Corrin is so fucking stupid in Conquest.

Recovering, Part 2/2
The team were apologetic to Loki after learning the truth. They even tried helping him out by making sure she had enough food and giving him tips about how to try and get her trust more.
Loki slowly managed to get Alice back to the stage where she was eating her cookies next to him. Just a foot away. But Loki knew not to make any sudden movements, he didn’t want to get mauled again if he could help it.
‘Alice.’ He said softly.
She lifted her head up straight away at hearing her name. He smiled and held out a cookie for her. ‘Good girl, Alice. Go on, take it. It’s ok.’
Alice looked at his outstretched hand warily, not sure about taking the cookie from his hand. But her hunger for the treat got the better of her and she quickly snatched it from him.
But it was progress in Loki’s eyes.
For safety reasons, he decided to teach her what bed meant. So when she was next to him, he carefully tossed a cookie onto her bed and said bed at the same time. She soon picked it up and would go there whenever he told her to.
That’s when he decided to leave the bathroom door open as a trial. He felt bad for keeping her cooped up in the bathroom.
He sat on his bed while he waited for her to venture out. She did, slowly, come out and look around. She wasn’t as panicked this time, so he didn’t have to worry about his room getting trashed.
But what he hadn’t taken into consideration was one idiotic brother who came barging in like there was a fire.
She freaked, naturally. But what surprised Loki the most was that she ran and hid behind him, instead of attacking Thor. Which part of him was slightly disappointed at.
After getting Thor out of his room and locking it, Alice went back to looking around. Once she had investigated every nook and cranny, she slowly went back into the bathroom to her bed.
Loki felt like he had her trust, at least to an extent. But he wished he could get to the stage of touching her, so he could try and get her more comfortable by washing her and sorting her hair out. Then getting better clothes onto her.
A week later, she came out of the bathroom more and more. Loki left the door open all the time for her.
But when she jumped up onto his bed once, he was surprised, yet pleased. She curled up at the bottom, finding it more comfortable than her own bed. He was warmed she trusted him enough now to do that, even closing her eyes.
He draped a blanket over her, she opened her eyes quickly and gave a warning snarl at him, but didn’t do anything else. Finding she liked the warmth the blanket brought.
When he woke one morning, he found Alice had moved up closer to him. She was looking at him curiously, at his hand that was flat on the bed beside him. He didn’t move, waiting to see what she would do.
She sniffed his hand first, then bit him! Which made him jump, it was quite painful.
‘NO!’ He said firmly and it was enough to make her eyes widen and she lurched backwards, falling off the bed to the floor. She then ran back to her bed in the bathroom for safety.
Loki groaned and rubbed his hand down his face. She had been doing so well, too. But she couldn’t bite people, that wasn’t right.
He went through to see her, she was curled up on her bed. He crouched down next to her and slowly put his hand out towards her. When she didn’t do anything, he praised her gently. But then when he was about to touch her, she started snarling at him.
‘No. Don’t do that.’ He said firmly, the tone giving her enough clarity that it was wrong.
She started trembling, scared when he kept reaching towards her. But then she froze completely when he just placed his hand on her arm. Her eyes were wide as she looked at his hand, as if she was thinking how dare he touch her!
But when it didn’t hurt, she relaxed a little and allowed him to stroke her arm. Then he managed to stroke her hair. Well, the best he could through all the mats.
Alice relaxed a lot at his touch, realising he wasn’t going to hurt her. He kept praising her and giving her cookies.
Not wanting to push his luck, he stopped and left her alone to process everything. But ten minutes later, she came wandering through to him. He was sitting at his desk when she came right up to him and bumped his leg with her head. He raised an eyebrow as he reached down and petted the top of her head. She seemed to enjoy that.
‘This is so weird.’ He said out loud, but quietly.
She was exactly like a feral cat that was starting to come round to its new owner. But she was a human… It felt so wrong, in a way. But he knew it would all help in the long run, he was making progress.
A few days later after continuing to make more progress with touching her, he decided to go for it.
He filled up the bath, she was at his side, curiously watching him do so. Without dumping her straight in, he grabbed a cloth and wetted it, then brought it to her face. She went to move away, but he gently told her not to.
‘No, don’t move away from me.’
When she stopped and allowed him to wipe the dirt from her cheek, he gave her a cookie. ‘Good girl, that’s it. I just want to get you clean, it will make you feel better.’
After being able to wipe her whole face, he couldn’t believe how dirty she actually was.
He knew he was going to have to cut her hair, because of the mats. He summoned scissors and, slowly, he managed to cut her hair with a lot of bribing with cookies. It was cut quite short, but he had managed to save some of it so she wasn’t bald.
Then, after a lot more bribing, he managed to finally get her into the bath. She still had the gown on, but it barely did anything to cover her. By now he had seen everything through it anyway. So he was able to get it off her. Luckily, she didn’t really understand what clothes were, so she wasn’t shy or embarrassed about it.
He’d actually found she was becoming more human-like, though. She often sat up a bit straighter instead of hunching down, like she was trying to copy him.
After washing her hair and body, having to drain the bath and re-fill it three times because of all the dirt that came off her, she was like a completely new woman.
Loki was rather stunned at her beauty. She looked to be around mid to late twenties. Her hair was dark blonde, which he would’ve never guessed before-hand. She had so many scars from where Hydra had hurt her, but her bruises were all healed.
Even Alice seemed surprised when she got out of the bath and looked at herself, she was so clean! It was confusing her.
Loki had some cosy pyjamas for her. But she fought against him when he tried to dress her. When he put on the pyjama bottoms, she kept wriggling and trying to kick out at him, not wanting them on. But he gently scolded her and once he had them on, she realised they were actually quite comfortable.
She lay on the bed next to Loki, fascinated with his hands. He let her just explore, since she was curious. But then she put her hand flat against his, her fingers uncurling more and her eyes widened, like she was just realising that she was the same as he was.
He saw the confusion and panic flash through her, she started to cry, which also made her panic more as she had never cried since the experiment so didn’t know what she was doing.
While Loki was delighted to see a human reaction out of her, it still hurt his heart to see her so distressed as she bolted into the corner of the room and curled up in fear. He rushed over to her and managed to console her, hugging her.
And she allowed him to hold her.
-
Loki knew that Alice had realised she was something more. Her brain was starting to work a bit better. He had hope now that she was redeemable, that she was still human in there.
It was just going to take time to get out of her.
He knew she would be ok being around the others now, as long as he was with her. He took her into the living room to meet the others. She was scared and kept hidden behind Loki for the most part, clinging to his leg as if for her life.
But it did help her, being able to watch them all go about their daily life. He could almost see the cogs turning in her brain as she worked out what they were doing. Even if she didn’t let go of Loki’s leg while he sat at the table to eat, she remained firmly attached to him.
After a few times going out to see the others, Loki tried teaching her to walk on two legs instead of relying on her hands as well.
She was crouching down on front of him and he took hold of her hands. She looked panicked when he started to slowly stand up straight, taking her hands with him. Her knees were still bent but they were slowly straightening, he could see the panic in her eyes.
‘You’re alright, Alice. I’ve got you, you’re safe. Good girl.’ He said gently, keeping her calm.
Over time, he was able to teach her to walk on two legs. She was often a bit wobbly and needed his hand for support, but she was getting better every day. He could see she was determined to do it, the concentration and focus was there.
Her brain was definitely starting to become more human again. She was making more human noises, not so much animal ones. Loki was teaching her to speak, she could almost say her name. But she was also understanding a lot more of what he said.
She knew bed time, time to eat, let’s go see the others, good girl, bad girl, bath time and of course her own name. Slowly she was learning more and more, understanding more sentences and picking up on bits and pieces from what Loki said.
The team were amazed at how well Loki had done with Alice. They didn’t think he had it in him, to nourish and teach someone that he once deemed lower than himself.
But it was no doubt that Loki had fallen in love with Alice. How could he not? After spending so much time with her, helping her to heal and learn all over again.
One evening, he was sat on his bed reading to Alice, who was lying next to him with her head on his lap while he stroked her hair.
Once he finished reading, he put his book down. He smiled as he looked down at Alice, who was enjoying his attention. But then something happened that shocked him, but made him absolutely delighted.
She looked up at him and spoke her first word.
‘Loki.’ She said, it sounded a little croaky, but there was no denying what she said.
Loki beamed happily.
‘Well done, Alice. Good girl.’ He said excitedly as she repeated his name over and over again. Making sure she could say it well.
After that, there was no stopping her. She was able to say more and more words as the days went on. Loki was able to teach her to form sentences, too. And she just kept learning and growing from there at speed.
When she was able to make proper conversations with Loki and the team, everyone was delighted and so pleased.
She was able to tell them what she could remember, which wasn’t much. Aside from waking up one day, feeling like an animal. Going on animal instincts, unable to think as a human at all. She remembered agents attacking her, hitting her and electrocuting her a lot.
Alice still had a long way to go with her recovery, but she was getting there. And she would have Loki there to teach her every step of the way.
The team asked if she wanted her own room now, to give her privacy. But she said she wanted to remain with Loki. Not realising that it wasn’t completely appropriate. That was something else Loki was going to have to… teach her in the future.
But with the way she kept clinging to him, even now she was more confident as a human, he knew that she was his. And he was as much hers.

When Stiles first met Laura, there was no doubt in his mind that their soul bond wasn’t meant to be anything but platonic. He had heard of that happening, that the marks on a person’s body could mean they had a soulmate by any meaning of the word, and was momentarily disappointed that his meant a lifetime best friend. Then he realized that Laura was the most incredible woman he had ever met. If it wasn’t for the fact she was very, very, gay, he would’ve fallen in love with her the moment she barged into his life.
Laura took some convincing, though. Stiles helped her through a sexuality crisis - “Maybe I do like men.” “Does the fact I have a penis excite you?” “Absolutely not.” “You’re a lesbian, Laura.” - before they settled on getting to know each other before they pushed aside their fated connection as a mistake. Stiles researched and studied until he found a history book on platonic soulmates; a person who was meant to be in your life as a confidant, an unrelenting support, and a shoulder to cry on whenever the other needed it. Stiles could be that for Laura and he wanted to be that for her.
It was solidified the first time she had him over to her mansion-sized house in the middle of the woods a few miles outside of the town he grew up in. He had heard of the Hale’s - it was hard to not know everyone in such a close-knit town, especially when his dad was the sheriff - and the legacy that they brought to Beacon Hills. The family had been in the town since its founding and there were rumors that Stiles didn’t want to repeat (mostly about incest and immortality) that were quickly stricken from his mind the second he entered their home.
“Mom, Dad, this is Stiles, my completely platonic soulmate,” Laura said carefully as if her family hadn’t believed her the first hundred times she told them. Stiles held out his hand but was quickly pulled into a tight hug that could only be described as motherly.
“Oh, Mr. Stilinski, it’s so nice to finally be introduced to you!” Mrs. Hale said as she held Stiles by his shoulders, shooting a glare at her daughter. “We’ve heard so much about you,” she added with a wink that had Stiles’ face reddening.
“You have already technically met him, Talia,” Laura’s dad chimed in as he extended his hand to Stiles. He shook it steadily, wincing a bit at the tight squeeze of her father’s hand.
“Mr. and Mrs. Hale, you have a beautiful home,” Stiles commented cheerfully, grinning at them with teeth shining.
“Oh, please, son,” Mrs. Hale said with a wave of her hand. “I’m Talia, and my husband here is Evan. You’re gonna be around for the long haul it seems, so you might as well drop the niceties,” Mrs. Hale - Talia - corrected as she made her way into the kitchen area. Laura rolled her eyes and grabbed Stiles’ hand before he could say much more and dragged him further into the living room.
Stiles glanced around, but his gaze froze on the most beautiful man he had ever seen in his short life. There was no doubt in Stiles’ mind that he was Laura’s brother, the one she had spoken fondly and annoyingly about. They shared the same sharp features and dark hair and he looked just as broody as Laura had described him. The muscles in his back and arms rippled from where he attempted to hang a family photo while their younger sibling directed him with a smirk on her face.
“C’mon, Derek, I know you’re not straight, but you can at least hang a picture that way!” Laura yelled, her laugh only loudening when her brother - Derek - shot a glare over his shoulder.
“Like you could do a better job, Lo,” he spat back, letting go on the frame and nodding at it before it fell to the side and swung back and forth. He let out a loud groan and ran a hand through his hair before pointing at his sisters accusingly. “You guys figure it out. I have a pa-- plans with… people,” he said carefully when he finally noticed Stiles in the room.
“You’ve got a pack meeting with Isaac, Boyd, and Erica,” Stiles corrected with a nonchalant gesture of his hand. Derek gaped at him and then his eyes darted to Laura who was barely containing her delight.
“You told him?” Derek asked, taking a few steps closer to Laura who held up her hands in defense.
“Hey, I’m stuck with him as much as the rest of us. He already knew about wolves because of his dad so I figured I’d bite the silver bullet and let him in on the family secret,” Laura said with a shrug.
Derek glanced back over at Stiles before saying, “And he knows not to tell anyone?” Derek said with a heat in his eyes Stiles couldn’t quite explain. The look had his spine tingling with interest.
“Cross my heart and hope to get mauled by feral werewolves, Sourwolf,” Stiles said with a wink that only seemed to annoy Derek further.
“He’s harmless, Der. Just give him a chance, okay? We’re fated, or so they tell me,” Laura responded, tossing an arm over Stiles’ shoulder and pulling him close. His soul seemed to sing at the acceptance and he settled his arm around her waist happily.
“Right, well,” Derek began, grabbing a leather jacket that hung from the coat rack, “I’ll be back for dinner because apparently, our mother wants to pull out all the stops to impress the human.” Stiles was momentarily offended by the disgust in Derek’s voice but he remembered what Laura had told him about her brother. He took a while to trust people because of some tragic past event but once he did, he would protect that person with his entire life. Stiles admired that more than he could say.
“Tell the pack I said hi!” Cora called as Derek lifted his arms to put on his coat. Stiles felt disappointment surge through him when he saw the small mark on his hip that could only mean he had a soulmate. Leave it to Stiles to find the most perfect person he could have wished for only to have his dreams squashed before he could even figure out what they meant.
“I’ll tell Isaac you said hello,” Derek teased as he stepped out of the door without hearing Cora curse at him. Although Stiles was pretty sure werewolf hearing was a superpower and that he was just so used to his sisters swearing at him, he didn’t need to respond to win whatever argument he had just started.
“Got any other family members I need to worry about?” Stiles asked as Laura moved him over to the couch. She shrugged and grabbed the remote, tossing on some dumb reality TV show he had realized Laura found authentic entertainment in.
“Uncle Peter will probably try to hit on you at dinner, but he’s relatively harmless,” Cora noted from where she had settled on one of the many chairs that littered the living room.
“Relatively?” Stiles repeated and the girl’s laughter did nothing to relieve his anxiety.
——————————
The rest of the afternoon was surprisingly normal. Stiles wasn’t sure what to expect when meeting his platonic soulmate’s family, who happened to be made up of supernatural beings, but relaxing definitely hadn’t come to mind. That’s exactly what it had been, though. He lounged on the sofa with Laura, draped over each other the way they usually were - Laura had said it was something about scent and how if he wanted to be protected, he would need the Hale smell on him - and every so often, Cora, Talia, or Evan would come in and get to know Stiles a little more.
He told them all about his childhood and how he hadn’t changed much since then, which none of them were too surprised about. He recounted memories of his father being the sheriff and his mother and her untimely death, all of which had Talia gazing at him with sympathy that had tied his stomach in knots. In return, they told him stories of their territory battles and how Beacon Hills law enforcement had always worked side by side with them. Stiles was glad there wouldn’t be an issue between their families as he had previously worried.
Throughout the afternoon, he had to push thoughts of Derek out of his mind. Their interaction had been short and not at all sweet, but something about the man had Stiles’ eyes darting to the door as if waiting for him to return. He said he would be back for their dinner and Talia had just announced that it was about 15 minutes from being done, so his fingers tapped anxiously on his knees as he tried his hardest to breathe.
“Alright, what the hell is going on with you?” Laura asked once they were alone in the living room. Cora had been tasked to set the table while Talia and Evan worked on finishing the meal and Stiles was all alone with someone who could read him like a book.
He sighed and said, “I’m a little nervous for this dinner.” It was a lie and judging by the glare that Laura gave him, she sniffed it out immediately.
“You haven’t been nervous the entire time you’ve been hanging out with my family, so there’s something else,” Laura guessed. Just as Stiles was about to deny, the front door flung open and Stiles shot up from his seat to greet the new guest he had hoped was Derek. He was, once again, disappointed when the person who sauntered in wasn’t the man he was waiting for.
“Who is this delectable little thing?” The man said and Stiles furrowed his eyebrows in distaste. Laura groaned from beside him and took a protective step forward.
“This is Stiles. Stiles, my uncle Peter. He’s going to go tell my parents he’s here and stop licking his muzzle in the direction of my soulmate,” Laura said sharply, raising an intimidating eyebrow at Peter. He sighed but relented, floating over to the kitchen without another glance back. “You thought that was gonna be Derek,” Laura accused as she turned toward Stiles and pressed a stiff finger against his chest.
“I wasn’t expecting your creepy uncle, that much is for sure. What is his problem?” Stiles asked as a lame attempt to bring the conversation back away from who he may or may not have hoped was coming through the door.
“Peter is Peter. Harmless but a lot to get used to,” Laura said with a roll of her eyes. She pushed her finger further into Stiles’ chest and asked, “Were you hoping that was gonna be Derek?”
Stiles sighed, exasperated, and pushed her hand away. “So what if I did?” Stiles asked heatedly, crossing his arms over his chest. “He’s got a soulmate that isn’t me because I’m stuck with your sorry ass and I’m allowed to find people who look like him attractive.”
“Derek doesn’t--” She stopped whatever she was about to admit and sighed heavily. “I can’t believe my platonic soulmate has the hots for my brother,” she said with a cringe. Stiles shoved her playfully and Laura’s eyes lit up golden before she pushed him back just a little too hard. He started falling backward, tripping over his feet because his balance was honestly laughable, and braced himself for impact to the hardwood floor. Instead, he fell into a hard wall and warm, solid arms wrapped around his waist.
“Aren’t you trying to keep the human alive?” Derek’s voice chimed from behind him. Stiles was momentarily stunned by the feeling of Derek’s arms holding up that he forgot how to stand until Derek pushed him back to his feet. He stumbled forward into Laura who growled at him in response.
“At the moment, I’m debating on just killing him and having him for dinner instead of the pot roast Mom made us,” Laura said with a glare at Stiles. Derek seemed to freeze at Laura’s words which didn’t go unnoticed by anyone in the room. Laura said quickly, “Derek, I didn’t mean--”
“It’s fine, Lo. I’m gonna go get changed for dinner,” Derek dismissed as he bounded up the stairs. Stiles turned toward Laura and saw an excessive amount of guilt on her face.
“What was that?” Stiles asked carefully, resting a comforting hand on Laura’s shoulder. Her eyes didn’t stray for the staircase Derek had disappeared from until she shook her head and took a deep breath in.
“That was me taking our soul bond for granted,” Laura whispered as she pulled Stiles into a tight hug. He could practically feel his bones crush with the force of it and choked out a nervous laugh as he patted Laura on the back.
“Puny human, here. Can’t take much more of--” Laura let go and Stiles inhaled deeply to catch his breath. Laura glanced at him apologetically before pushing past Stiles to move toward the kitchen. “Wait, Laura, I can feel the guilt echoing off of you. What do you think you did wrong?” Stiles asked, grabbing for Laura’s hand. She shook it away before staring at Stiles with the most serious expression he had ever seen from her.
“I know I did something wrong and I need you to not ask questions, okay? It’s Derek’s story and if he trusts you enough, he’ll tell you,” Laura decided with a nod. Stiles agreed and pulled her in for one more hug before she dragged him to the kitchen. “Ma, Daddio, Derek’s home so we should sit,” she said as if nothing was weighing on her. Stiles wondered if he would ever get used to being so attuned to her vast array of emotions.
“I hope you like to eat, Stiles, Mom’s made enough to feed an army!” Cora joked as she made her way to the table balancing two plates expertly in her hands. Stiles reached for one to assist her and Cora beamed a smile at him. He took a moment to notice just how beautiful the entire family was and thought that fate must have known he’d never have a chance with Laura which was why their bond was strictly platonic.
Derek chose that moment to walk in, a much neater outfit on his body. Stiles found himself annoyed at how quickly his heart skipped a beat at the new view. Derek was wearing black jeans that rested snug on his hips and a dark blue t-shirt, but somehow he still looked dressed up. Laura nudged her hip against his and Derek smiled over at her like it was all they needed to forgive and forget. She made her way over to where Stiles stood frozen and flicked at his chin causing him to smack her hand.
“Close your mouth, Stilinski. Werewolf dens aren’t immune to fly infestations,” Laura teased with a wink. Stiles rolled his eyes at her but made sure his lips were pressed together tightly as he rested the plate on the table. He pulled out the seat beside Laura and before he could sit down, Cora slid into place, thanking Stiles as if he had prepared the chair just for her.
“I have to sit next to my dad,” Cora supplied as if it was the truth, “since I’m such a daddy’s girl.” Laura cackled beside her and Stiles pretended not to notice the sly smile on Derek’s face from where he had sat down. With Laura and Cora on one side of the table, their parents on either end and Peter taking the only other chair that seemed appropriate for Stiles, he had no choice but to occupy the seat next to Derek. Great.
The moment he sat down, Peter chimed in, “So, Stiles Stilinski. Tell us more about yourself.” Stiles wasn’t sure how such a normal command sounded so gross coming from Peter’s lips. He glanced around the table and caught Laura’s eyes, hoping the stare was enough of a plea for help for her to intervene.
“He’s not my boyfriend, Uncle Peter. The interrogation isn’t necessary,” she said with an expert roll of her eyes.
“Then is he single?” Peter asked, staring Laura down like Stiles was some sort of competition. Stiles felt immediately uneasy until Laura’s chest rumbled lowly.
“Peter, please. The boy has just turned 18,” Talia chastised, but there was no heat in it. Stiles didn’t think it was possible for her to be an alpha with the kindness she had displayed.
“18 means legal big sister,” Peter said as he took a sip of the wine Stiles wasn’t sure he should be drinking. He shuddered when he thought of how even more brash Peter could be with a bottle of wine in his system. “I’m not asking for me, anyway,” Peter said with a shrug, leaning forward to glance over at Derek.
“Can’t we just have one dinner without you making-- No, wait,” Laura said, interrupting herself as she grabbed a shovel of mashed potatoes, “I take that back. Can’t we just have one dinner without you? Full stop.” Peter scowled at her, but Stiles was a little too focused on how he went out of his way to look at Derek. He didn’t know much about werewolves, but there must have been something obvious in the air for Peter to make such a large jump when he had only been in the house for that short of a time.
“Stiles, we are dying to know,” Talia began as she put way too many peas onto his plate. Her smile was too bright and the food smelled too delicious for him to ask her to stop. “How did your father react when he found out Laura was your soulmate?”
“Platonic soulmate,” Laura was quick to interject. Derek huffed out a laugh beside him and Stiles couldn’t help but smile at the sound.
Stiles ignored the outburst and said, “Well, at first, he was confused. From his history with your family, he was pretty sure Laura was… not interested.”
“Which is very true,” Laura interrupted again. Stiles threw a pea at her, ignoring her cry of protest before he continued.
“Then he was just amused because, and I think this is a direct quote, ‘she’s going to chew you up and spit you out and you’re going to let her’,” Stiles finished with a wink at Cora. She blushed and laughed, hiding her face when her dad shot an accusatory glance at her.
“Our Laura would never,” Talia said but it was clear in her tone that she figured that’s exactly what would have happened if their soulmate bond was anything more than platonic. Stiles still thought that she was gonna destroy him any chance she got, but she didn’t scare him much anymore. He knew she was secretly looking for acceptance and Stiles was the one to give her that unconditionally.
“Speaking of spitting,” Peter said with a sly grin on his face. At that comment, Derek’s growl seemed to echo around the room.
“Peter,” he said so lowly that Stiles almost missed it even though he was sitting right next to Derek. Peter must have heard it loud and clear judging by the way his face turned to stone. It was almost like--
“Of course, Alpha,” Peter spat, slamming his fork down on the plate. “I wouldn’t want to challenge you for a mate again. We all know how that went last time,” Peter said and Stiles was sure he could hear a pin drop with the silence that enveloped the room. Before he could try to break the tension with one of his jokes, Laura shot out of her seat, wielding a steak knife in her hand, and if Stiles had thought she was intimidating before, he was positive of it then.
“Laura, no.” Stiles almost didn’t recognize the voice as Talia’s, the stern tone and growl that seemed to rumble table so unlike what he had seen from her before.
“He knows it’s off limits, Mom. He’s lucky we even let him in here after what he did to--”
“Laura, enough!” Talia shouted, her eyes flashing red as Laura seemed to crumble back into her seat. Stiles could feel her submission through their bond and it knocked the breath out of him. It wasn’t until Derek’s hand rested on his shoulder that he was able to gulp in enough air to have his head stop spinning.
“Peter--” Evan spat, but before he could continue, Derek was shaking his head and standing. His eyes darted from each face at the table, skipping Peter’s but lingering a little longer on his than Stiles thought was warranted. There was something about the way Derek’s palm slid from the fabric of his shirt and down his arm before resting at his side that had a chill racing down Stiles’ body.
“I’m gonna go for a run or-- Just, enjoy your meal,” Derek muttered. He glanced at Stiles and whispered, “It was nice to meet you. I’m glad Laura has--” his breath stuttered, “--has someone.” Stiles nodded and watched Derek until he reached the door, hoping he would glance back so Stiles could take it as an invitation and follow him. His hand hesitated on the doorknob, but he pulled the door open and shut it softly behind him.
“Mom, as a member of your pack and your daughter, I can’t keep staying silent while Peter hurts my brother,” Laura said, her voice surprisingly steady as her eyes flashed. Talia nodded and held eye contact with Evan like a silent agreement was being made between them. He wondered if that’s how all romantic soulmates were with each other and felt his heart constrict at the fact that may never apply to him.
Laura was staring at him when he looked away from her parents and he realized they had it, too. He knew every emotion that was swirling around inside of her - the hurt, the sadness, the sheer anger directed at Peter, they want to follow where her brother had disappeared to - like it was his own and rested a hand against the mark on his skin. It was something he had resented for so long when he met Laura and figured out she wouldn’t be the love of his life. He couldn’t find himself to hate it at that moment, though. Not when his heart yearned for Derek and the family he had only just met.
“I’ve allowed you in this pack, Peter, because you are blood. You are the only family from my past that I have left,” Talia began as she stood, shuffling over to Peter to hold his face in her hands, “but the family that is my future can never accept you as theirs.” Peter blanched at the statement as if he had never thought Talia would say those words. Stiles didn’t have it in him to feel bad after what he had just witnessed.
“You can’t be serious, Lia. I can’t control how your little brat feels about his past. You all treat him as if his past will haunt him forever when I’m merely trying to--”
“Enough,” Talia whispered. Even with the soft tone of her voice, Stiles knew she wouldn’t let him keep speaking. “Peter Hale, you are no longer allowed on the territory of the Beacon Hills Pack, as proclaimed by the Alpha, Talia Hale.”
Howls erupted through the room and Stiles thought he heard a distant sorrowful one from outside. Laura’s heart burst in her chest and Stiles felt it from where he had pushed back his seat away from the siblings. He shot a glance at her out of the corner of his eye and saw tears bubbling in them. He wasn’t sure he would ever see Laura emotional, but he was glad the first time was for family. Fate had gotten something right when he paired them, Stiles thought happily.
“I’ll be gone by midnight,” Peter choked out, and then he was gone. The room silenced like a dark cloud had suddenly appeared and Talia dropped into her seat with a sigh.
“Mom, I--” Laura began, but Talia’s eyes flashed red. Stiles didn’t see anger in them as he expected. He wasn’t quite sure what had just happened, but from what he had heard from Laura, Peter was the worst person she had ever met and Stiles was glad to be rid of him. Talia might not feel the same as he was family and Stiles couldn’t imagine the pain she must have felt.
“Derek?” Cora nodded and closed her eyes, her chin tilting down slowly. Stiles knew she was listening for him, trying to sense his mood and whereabouts with her werewolf ability. He would have been impressed if he wasn’t still shocked.
“He’s at the treehouse,” Cora whispered as she stood. “I can--”
“Can I?” Stiles asked, shooting up from his seat. All four eyes locked on his and he wasn’t sure who to look at it. The bond pulsing on his skin had him subconsciously choosing Laura, which he figured he would have to get used to. “I just-- I don’t know what happened. I don’t need an explanation,” Stiles said quickly as all of their mouths moved to open, “but I would like to talk to Derek. You all saw what I did and for some reason he… trusts me. Can I be the one to make sure he’s okay?”
Talia nodded slowly and rested her hand on Laura’s as if to calm her. He could feel her confusion and what he thought might be jealousy, but he brushed it aside. If he wanted answers, Derek was going to be the one to give them to him. That much was made clear in the last few minutes.
“Where do I go?” Stiles asked as he reached the door. Laura considered answering him, but Cora beat her to it.
“Behind the house. Walk directly straight for about a minute and it’ll be on your right. It’s the only treehouse out there,” Cora said. Stiles winked back at her and a blush covered her cheeks as she waved him away. He sent one more glance at Laura and was surprised by her encouraging nod before he shut the door behind him.
He wasn’t sure what he would say and that was his first problem. He could tell Derek that Peter was kicked out, but by the howl he had heard in the woods, he had already made the connection. He would ask Derek what the hell just happened, but Stiles wasn’t sure brazen was the way to go with Derek. Maybe he would just sit next to him and wait for Derek to do the talking. He thought about that option for a second before remembering the countless times Laura ran conversations with him and he was happy to listen. If he recalled correctly, that day was the first time he had actually heard a full sentence out of Derek in the time he had known Laura.
All too suddenly, Stiles realized just how different they were. He didn’t know what he felt for Derek or what the night had started, but he wasn’t the kind of person to let it go. He figured Derek might be, but if he thought that Stiles was going to leave without having answers, he had another thing coming.
“I can hear you thinking from all the way up here,” Derek’s voice split through the silence of the forest. Stiles jumped and held in the yelp that threatened to escape his lips. He heard a small huff of laughter from above and flinched when a rope ladder dropped a few feet in front of him.
“I thought it was gonna be a lot harder to convince you to let me up there,” Stiles said, huffing as he attempted to climb the rope. He wasn’t out of shape by any means, but climbing was never something he was good at. He remembered being almost as uncoordinated as Erica on the rope at school before she got the bite.
“You seem like the type that would find his way up even if I didn’t want you here,” Derek noted as he threw his hands on the wooden platform to pull himself fully into the house. He took a deep breath in and sat up so he was facing Derek. He was surprised to see peace in his light eyes that reflected the sunset out the side of the treehouse beautifully.
“Do you want me here?” Stiles asked carefully, moving to glance at the view. It was breathtaking and not at all what Stiles had expected. The placement was perfect for the sunset peeking through the large trees that surrounded the preserve and shined off the small pond Stiles hadn’t known was hidden behind their home. “Wow,” he couldn’t stop himself from whispering. Derek nodded in agreement and leaned back on his hands.
After a few moments of silence, Derek said, “I’m not gonna kick you out.” It wasn’t exactly the answer he had wanted, but it was kinder than he expected. He settled back on his hands, matching Derek’s position as they watched the sun fall behind the trees together. “I’m sorry for what happened,” Derek whispered. The admission shocked Stiles more than almost anything had that night. First, because Derek didn’t strike him as an apologetic type, and second, because Derek thought he had anything to apologize for.
“Your Uncle Peter is a real dick,” Stiles said before he could stop himself. He slammed his palm over his mouth, but before he could apologize, Derek’s laughter filled the air. Stiles pushed back the way his heart seemed to always stutter at the sound.
“Yeah,” Derek agreed, “he really is.”
There were a few moments of silence that Stiles used to think of what he could possibly say next. It was obvious there was a story as to why Laura reacted so strongly to Peter and that it was enough to cast Peter out of the town and out of the pack. Stiles didn’t know much about werewolf politics other than what he gathered from the files he had snuck peeks at in the past, but that wasn’t something that was taken lightly. Derek sighed heavily next to him and cleared his throat as darkness fell over them. Stiles was sad to see the sunset disappear, but the stars that started sparkling through the sky almost made the disappearing view worth it.
“Do you love Laura?” Derek asked and Stiles choked at the question.
He sputtered out, “Excuse me?” Derek sighed again, more annoyed that time, and turned toward Stiles.
“I know you’re her soulmate--”
“Platonic,” Stiles interrupted before Derek could finish. Derek shot him a deadly glare which had him pressing his lips together nervously.
“Even platonic soulmates must feel love for one another, right?” Stiles was a bit scared to speak, so he nodded his head and couldn’t stop the smile from tugging at his lips. “I love Laura, too. She’s my sister, but more than that, she’s the most stubborn, hard headed, independent, kind, strong woman I’ve ever had in my life.” Stiles nodded quickly in return. Laura was the best and they undoubtedly agreed on that.
“There are times when I wish our bond wasn’t platonic,” Stiles began and Derek’s raised eyebrow told him his interpretation of Stiles’ admission was a lot different than Stiles meant. “No, no, no, I don’t wanna like bang your sister, man,” Stiles said, but at Derek’s blank look, he realized those weren’t exactly the most comforting words either. “What I mean to say,” Stiles took a deep breath, “is that your sister was a surprise to me. Our connection is stronger than I’ve seen with even the most romantic of soulmates. I’m here for the long haul whether you or your family - or anyone else for that matter - like it or not.”
He said the words with such conviction, he hoped Derek heard the sincerity in them. Even if Derek wasn’t going to bear his soul right then and there to someone he had really just met, he needed Derek to know that he would find out eventually. Derek would trust Stiles implicitly and it was only a matter of time. He had wormed his way into Laura’s life, charmed her into loving him right back, and he would do the same to Derek because he had to.
It might have been the way his stomach seemed to tremble or the way his heart clenched in his chest or even the way that being so close to Derek with only the night sky giving them any semblance of light had his entire body shivering, as if it anticipated his entire life changing. It could have been the way Derek was watching him so carefully, like he was deciding if Stiles was telling the truth, or the way his shoulders relaxed when he saw whatever he was searching for in Stiles’ gaze.
“Our family hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to soulmate bonds,” Derek began and Stiles let out the breath he was all too aware he was holding. “My mom never had a soulmate and she was happy about it until she met my dad. His soulmate was the love of his life and my mom sat back and befriended them because she wanted him in her life. When he lost his soulmate to a rogue wolf, he didn’t know how to move on. My mom helped him through it and even though they weren’t fated, they ended up together with the same amount of love most soulmates feel for each other.”
Stiles nodded and whispered, “That’s incredibly romantic.” Derek laughed in return and shook his head.
“They had their battles. Mom was an alpha werewolf and dad had barely just been bitten. It was tough for them but they believed that soulmate bonds weren’t the be all end all to how much love someone had to give. It was the only thing that got me through when I--” Derek cleared his throat and Stiles could hear the tears building in his throat.
“You don’t have to tell me,” Stiles whispered, reaching over to rest his hand on top of Derek’s softly. It was so similar to the way Derek comforted him during dinner and Stiles’ mind reeled with what it could mean. They had only known each other for a few hours at most and they both had eased into comforting one another already. It surprised and intrigued Stiles, but his mind was too focused on the trust that Derek was displaying as he shook his head abruptly.
“Like you said, you’re here to stay whether we like it or not, right?” Stiles nodded and said nothing further, urging Derek to continue with a squeeze of his hand. “I met my soulmate in high school. Her name is-- was Paige. I knew I was one of the lucky ones to meet my soulmate so early in life. We had the rest of forever to spend with each other and I was so in love with her.” Derek let out a choked laugh and ran his free hand through his hair. He didn’t try to remove his hand from underneath Stiles’ but turned it over instead. Stiles traced the lines of his palm with his fingertips delicately.
“So fate got it right?” Stiles asked with a smile.
Derek nodded and continued, “Everyone thought we were perfect for each other. I was extroverted and sporty, she was more introverted and loved to lock herself in a room to practice her cello. I thrived on time spent with my friends and she loved spending time with just me. We were the definition of opposites attract and we--” He broke off with another shake of his head. “I believed in soulmates just as much as the next person, but I also knew that sometimes fate was wrong.
“I mean, I looked at my parents and how much they loved each other and I would never cheapen that the way others had, but fate had perfected the match between Paige and I. Before we even graduated, we were planning our future together.” He went quiet, staring up at the stars like they held all the answers to a question Stiles was too afraid to ask. The silence in the air was heavy and Stiles broke it with a hefty breath.
“What happened?” Stiles asked softly, lacing his fingers with Derek to try and provide whatever comfort he could. Derek’s small smile warmed Stiles’ heart as he waited for the story he had been intrigued to hear.
“Peter happened,” Derek spat before taking a deep breath. “He is only a few years older than me and he set his sights on Paige, too. Even though she was my soulmate, he was sure that her kindness meant that they should be together so he challenged me for her. Soulmate bonds aren’t just for werewolves…” Derek trailed off, gesturing toward Stiles who huffed out a laugh.
“Obviously,” he agreed with a scrunch of his nose.
“But werewolves take them more seriously than humans. We mate for life more times than not, but Peter grew up with his sister and her husband defying all of the odds and he just couldn’t let it go.” Stiles could tell that even recalling the event was becoming too much for Derek to handle and opened his mouth to stop him. He didn’t need to hear more if it meant that Derek would continue sounding as broken as he did. Derek squeezed Stiles' hand and leveled him with an almost pleading glance.
“Okay,” Stiles muttered as he prepared himself for what he thought would be a tragic story.
Derek sat up a little straighter and squeezed Stiles’ hand tighter before he started again, “Peter wasn’t born with a soul mark and to him, that meant his mate was his choosing. It didn’t matter that the person standing in his way was his family - someone I considered my best friend - he was blinded by the good that Paige was that he would never be. Paige didn’t want to tear us apart, but I didn’t realize at that time just how much. She was going to leave Beacon Hills and break our bond so that our family, our pack, wouldn’t be broken. That wasn’t on her, but that’s just who she was a person, you know?”
“She sounds selfless,” Stiles commented and that made Derek smile again which Stiles was grateful for.
“She was. And Peter was the opposite. He was waiting outside of her house when she walked out with her bags packed and they had an argument. He said it was innocent - that he was begging her to stay with him - and somehow, the tripped and her head slammed against the stonewall lining her driveway.” Derek shuttered and Stiles had to hold back all of the questions he had. Did he think Peter murdered her? Did he see her? Did he get to say goodbye?
He stayed mostly silent, muttering a brief, “I’m sorry.” As if it would do anything to ease Derek’s pain.
“I hated Peter, but he was family and one of the only blood pack members my mother had left. I saw her struggle with the decision to exile him back then and I can’t imagine the hurt she is feeling right now,” Derek said, guilt clear in his tone. He pressed his hand against his heart and Stiles felt his own tightening in his chest.
“He doesn’t deserve to be here with you,” Stiles said and the words were angrier than he had meant them to be. “I’ve known Laura for a while and the rest of you for only a night, but I knew from the second I met you that the tragedy you went through hasn’t broken you.” Derek looked as if he was about to argue and Stiles took a chance, resting his free palm on Derek’s cheek. He was surprised to find it dry as even Stiles’ eyes were tearing at the story.
“I tried for so long to push aside the pain and anger I felt toward Peter, but for some reason, I feel ashamed that my past is what tore my family apart,” Derek admitted, looking anywhere but Stiles’ face. The hand that rested on Derek’s cheek pushed just enough for their eyes to connect and Stiles tilted his head consideringly at Derek.
“Peter tore your family apart by ripping Paige away from you. And from what I saw tonight, he continued to poke and prod at your happiness in order to prove that he was somehow superior. You have done nothing but forgive someone I never would have. In fact,” Stiles said, clearing his throat, “I probably would have punched the guy if it wasn’t for the fact I was meeting your parents for the first time.”
Derek’s laughter was real and raw, only slightly drowned by unshed tears as he asked, “Oh, yeah? What makes you think you would have done any damage?” Stiles considered the question and shrugged.
“I wouldn’t have made a dent in him. But I’ve been told I’m good at provoking people so best case scenario, he would have gone after me and I had at least 4 werewolves ready to attack when he did,” Stiles said with a coy smile. Derek shook his head and reached up to take Stiles’ hand on his face in his own.
“We wouldn’t have let anything happen to you,” Derek admitted and Stiles knew it was the truth.
“Yeah, you wouldn’t have. Just like you wouldn’t have let anything bad happen to Paige and how even through your own suffering, you didn’t let it tear your family apart,” Stiles urged. Stiles was sure if he could see Derek more clearly, there would be a blush on his cheeks and the thought made him a bit giddy even with the heavy conversation behind them. “Look, I don’t know you yet, and there was a while in there where I thought I never would,” Stiles began, holding Derek’s hands tightly in his, “but I would like to. I mean, I know what is possibly the most traumatic thing that ever happened to you, so we can only go up from here, right?” Derek smiled wider and Stiles grinned right back.
“I don’t see the harm in that,” Derek muttered. He stood up slowly, gesturing to the opening of the treehouse for Stiles to make his way down. “I can hear Laura pacing from out here. We should…” Stiles took Derek’s outstretched hand in his and nodded.
“Yeah…” Stiles trailed off, pulling Derek back to facing him when he started to drop the ladder. “Hey, Derek?” Stiles asked, gulping when he saw the moonlight reflecting in Derek’s eyes.
“Stiles,” Derek whispered and Stiles thought that he could get used to Derek saying his name like that. It was soft and sultry when he wasn’t even trying. Stiles briefly considered how it would sound when he did try.
“Thank you for telling me,” Stiles said, his lips pulling back into a shy smile before he could stop them. Derek huffed out what sounded like a relieved laugh and squeezed Stiles’ hand in his.
“Laura’s lucky to have you,” Derek responded, but Stiles knew it was as much of a thank you as Derek could probably give.
“Well, I’m feeling pretty lucky, too,” Stiles muttered as he watched Derek lower himself from the treehouse. He was grateful that his extremely platonic soulmate was Laura because that meant he would never be rid of Derek. Derek who he could see becoming friends with, who he could see annoying until he was red in the face, who he could see himself falling in love with… “Yeah, I’m really lucky.”

Frantic -- Matthew Tkachuk (Pt.4)
a/n: finally here with part 4!! it’s been a busy few days but I hope you guys enjoy! i think ths story has two or three parts left in it.
Part One Part Two Part Three
“Y/N hurry up! We’re gonna be late!” Emily screamed across the apartment as you were frantically throwing whatever clean clothes you could find into your open suitcase. It was creeping up to 8am and you guys were supposed to leave at 7:45 for your 10am flight. You weren’t completely unprepared, you had packed a few jerseys and a less than innocent red set to live underneath them but the past few days had been so busy you forgot to pack the rest.
The team was back on the road but this time to the west coast. Fortunately, you and Emily had just started your reading weeks so it only made sense you finally got to join the boys on at least part of their trip. Emily had never gotten to see Alberta before so it was the perfect opportunity to do some exploring. You were meeting the boys in Calgary for their day off and the Flames game then when they were off to Edmonton the two of you were off to explore. Mitch offered all the time to fly you guys wherever they were but you never wanted to impose. He was pleasantly surprised when you finally asked him for two plane tickets.
Barging into your room extremely pissed off, a look of horror crossed your roommate's face as she watched you scramble. She sighed loudly as she grabbed your hips and placed you in a chair in the corner of your room. She made quick work of your messy packing skills and threw in an extra hoodie and jeans in addition to socks which you had forgotten about entirely. You went to thank her but she pressed her finger to your lips, shushing you.
“The Ubers waiting lets, go.” If looks could kill you would’ve been a goner twenty minutes ago.
The drive to the airport was quiet. Emily had her head in her phone texting Nick while you stared at the city flashing past you. The past few weeks had been crazy. School was in full swing and was taking most of your energy. Spending ten hours a day in the studio left you little time to see anyone let alone keep up with what was going on outside of your bubble. You felt bad because you hadn’t been giving Matt as much attention lately. The two of you called and facetimed when you could but it didn’t feel like enough. He knew you were busy and was more than supportive but the guilt still pang in your chest and the thought of him losing interest ran wild through your mind. This trip couldn't have came at a better time, you figured surprising him was the best way to make up for the distance between you two lately.
Emily, still mad at your last minute lifestyle, kept to herself for the wait in the airport and most of the flight but she started to gush the closer you two got to your destination. You were so used to traveling growing up that it was sweet getting to see someone get so excited.
After collecting your bags it was a short drive back to the hotel. As you guys approached the entrance you noticed a group of girls probably about 15 or 16 in Leafs jerseys. When you walked past they got quiet and you could hear the whispers.
“Oh my god is that Mitch’s sister?” “That's definitely Nick's girlfriend!” “Ugh! This isn’t fair! She’s not even pretty enough for him!”
You reached and squeezed Emily’s hand as you kept walking. Just like the guys, you knew better then to respond to people because in the long run it hurts their career and relationships. It was nothing she hadn’t heard from others or hadn’t seen on social media but you knew it still hurt her just a little.
Dropping your bags with a thud, you hurled yourself at the nearest bed and let out a massive sigh of relief as you let the softness envelop your body. Emily’s laughter filled the room as she placed her bags down next to your and sat on the edge of your bed. You let out a small grunt as she shook your leg, trying to get you to sit up.
“Mini!” her voice was more stern then usually. “Come on, we didn’t come all this way for you to lay in bed. Let's do something!”
“But bed.” You pouted into the sheets.
She aggressively grabbed your arm, pulled you up and headed for the door. You wanted to protest but you knew it wasn’t worth it. It was a cold day so you both agreed that shopping was the best way to fill your time before you had to go meet the boys for dinner.
Matthew checked his phone a lot more these days. He was never really one to care if people had answered him or to be obsessed with social media but since you entered his life he was constantly looking. At first Johnny and Noah were really digging into him but they soon realized how important this girl was to Matt. She was known as the Rat Queen through the locker room because Tkachuk refused to reveal her identity but wanted to gush about how talented she was. Noah was the only one who knew who you were.
He supported Matt but he reminded his friend on multiple occasions that he has to be careful. Between tight inner circles and the looming presence of fans and press. You could never be too careful.
It was killing Matt just a little bit that he hadn’t seen you in so long but he knew you needed to be in Toronto. He dragged Noah with him CrossIron Mills to help pick out things to send to you in a care package. He had gotten the idea from his brothers girlfriend because she had sent Brady one while they were home for the summer in St. Louis. Back in his apartment he had a box with a few snacks and some of his old T-shirts and sweaters. All sprayed with his cologne.
He was on the hunt today for something special but he wasn’t quite sure what that was. The two boys had wandered into a record store and were just mindlessly looking to see if anything would catch their eye.
You were still empty handed after a few hours of walking around and you were ready to call it quits but Emily pulled you into Sunshine Records for one last stop. You parted ways and you made your way to the back of the store. Once again not paying attention to where you were going you smacked into someones back.
“I am so sor-” You looked up and were met with the same piercing blue eyes from a few weeks ago but this time he looked a lot happier to be crashed into. Picking you up, he spun you around and placed a soft kiss on your lips. Fireworks exploded in your stomach but before you could react it was over.
“What are you doing here?!” He exclaimed as he set you down, keeping his arms wrapped around your neck.
“I’m looking for the new Niall Horan vinyl babe.” You giggled.
“Not in the store Y/N! Why are you HERE?” He lets go of you and starts waving in hand in every direction, “In Calgary!”
“Ohh right. I was going to surprise you at your game tomorrow.”
“Well as much as that’s sweet I’m glad you ruined the surprise.” He pulled you in for another sweet kiss, making you melt even further. You both heard a cough and turned to see Emily and Noah standing a few feet away. The two of you pulled away and returned to your respective best friend. Noah extended his hand to you and the grip of his handshake is firm but welcoming.
“So you’re the famous Y/N that Chucky never stops talking about.” That comment earned Noah a swift smack to the back of the head from Matt.
You laughed slightly as you responded, “That's me. I hope it's all good things Chucky.” You sent him a teasing glance while you spoke.
“Oh trust me he is, you really got him wrapped around your finger. There was this one time-” Noah was forcefully cut off by Matt.
“Ah Ah Ah, that’s enough! I am so sorry to cut this story short but we have a team dinner to get ready for.” He started pushing Noah towards the exit as you and Emily followed.
“Calm down buddy.” His phone went off in his hand and said “It was lovely to meet you guys.” before rushing away to answer. Emily stepped away at the same time for the same reason leaving you and Matt alone.
He pulled you into another hug and he smiled as he felt you relax completely into his arms. He looked down at you and marveled at your face before he spoke.
“So if you’re coming to my game does that mean your finally gonna finally wear my jersey babe?”
“Awh sorry love, accidentally brought my Talbot jersey. Maybe next time.” A smirk covering your face. He frowned at you.
“You’re a monster.” Joking tone in his voice.
You pushed up on your toes and planted another kiss on his lips.
“Yeah but I’m your monster.”
“Yes, yes you are.” you both stared aimlessly into eachothers eyes. Your moment was cut short by Emily’s return.
“Hey Y/n… That was my mom, I have to head home after the game tomorrow. There’s some family stuff I have to be there for. I’m really sorry.”
You pulled away from Matt and gave her a hug, tracing small circles on her spine to calm her down.
“It’s okay. Do you want me to come back with you?”
“No, no it’s okay, Nicks gonna come with me.” Her eyes were full of disappointment.
“Okay hun. Tonight we’ll reschedule all our hotels and come back out in May. How does that sound?”
“Sounds good but what are you going to do the rest of the week then?”
Piping up from behind them, Matt enthusiastically said “Come stay with me.”
“That’s very sweet of you Matts but I don’t wanna impose and how would I explain that to Mitch?” You knew Mitch would understand if you told him about you and Matt but you weren’t ready to take that step yet. Especially becuase you guys weren’t anything offical yet.
“We play Ottawa later this week so the family’s coming down to see it. Just tell him you're staying in town to see Taryn.” You thought about it for a minute because he had a good point. You hadn’t seen Taryn in about two years plus it technically wouldn’t be lying to Mitch.
“Fine.”
“Yay!” Matthew mauled you with a quick hug and kissed your forehead. He gave you a quick goodbye and headed off to find his teammate. You and Emily finished shopping and headed back to the hotel to get ready for your night.
Even though the mall was pretty empty there's always someone around to see things. You guess someone saw you and Matt together today and tweeted about seeing the two of you. Adding insult to injury, Matt liked the tweet sending twitter into a tailspin of rumours. He really was a pest on and off the ice.

Recovering, Part 2/2
TITLE: Recovering CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: Part 2 AUTHOR: fanficshiddles ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine Loki comes across a failed Hydra experiment. She looks to be an ordinary human, but Loki quickly learns she has the mind of a wild animal. RATING: M

CHAPTER EIGHT - LADIES
Words: 2191
“Next exit, Dean.”
He’s keeping his voice carefully neutral, projecting calm - but Dean knows better.
Cas is beside himself with excitement.
----------------------
They had stopped for lunch at a little diner in Myers Flats the day before, when Dean realized how close they were to the giant redwoods. They finished their meal and spent the rest of the day driving the Avenue of the Giants, stopping at several locations to explore or take pictures; even driving through the Shrine Drive-Thru Tree (which of course, Dean had to get a picture of Baby parked inside the Tree, immediately sending it to Sam).
It was a wonderful day, spent among beautiful ancient trees - but inside, Dean was freaking out.
Fuckin’ dumbass. How could you have just BLURTED it out like that??
It’s not that Dean regretted the question - not by a long shot - and was absolutely over the moon about Cas’ response.
But the way it had come out… UGH.
So, while outwardly Dean enjoyed the drive and the trees, and Cas among the trees (“Some of these trees are over two thousand years old, Dean!”) - internally, he was desperately trying to figure out a way of correcting his incredible proposal faux pas.
Adding to his anxiety over the whole thing - Cas hadn’t mentioned it again.
Not a peep. Not a word.
They spent the night in a cozy little cabin at a motor lodge in Phillipsville, both so exhausted they fell asleep almost as soon as their heads hit the pillows.
The next morning, Dean had woken up to Cas coming back in the room, two steaming cups of coffee and some danishes from the motel office in his hands - and positively vibrating with excitement.
Setting the coffee and danish on the nightstand, he thrusts a brochure at him.
“While I was waiting for the coffee to finish percolating, I struck up a conversation with the proprietor,” Cas explained, “ and when I mentioned we were headed south she informed me about a large accumulation of wineries near our route. She showed me a rack of informational pamphlets on these wineries, and I found this one!” He gleefully pointed at the name on the brochure - ‘Beehave Winery’. “They make mead there, Dean!”
Dean vaguely recalls the term - isn’t that what they drank at Camelot or something?
Cas correctly interpreted the look on his face - “Honey wine, Dean!” He plucked the brochure from Dean’s hand, opening it and thrusting an eager finger inside. “And they have their own beehives!”
Well, beehives. Of course they were going to stop there.
Cas must have taken Dean’s silence as protest, his eyes dropping and his voice taking on a pleading tone.
“I know it’s farther inland, and that you wished to turn off onto Highway 1 in Leggett (Cas knew Dean’s route better than Dean did at this point), and I know you prefer beer to wine...”
Dean reached a hand to his chin, lifting it up to look into his eyes. “Hey, hey… it’s fine!” He set the brochure on the bed and stood, gathering Cas into his arms. “This trip isn’t just about me, sweetheart. We can do whatever we both want.”
Cas buried his face in Dean’s neck and sighed happily. “So, we can go see the bees, then?”
Dean laughed and pulled away, pressing a kiss onto his forehead. “Of course we can. Wine has alcohol, I can get behind that.”
--------------------------
Cas peers at the map on the brochure, brows pinched in concentration.
“Turn left onto Silverado Trail.”
Dean takes the exit and turns left, following Cas’ directions. They pass a number of wineries with names like ‘Black Stallion Winery’ and ‘Reynolds Family Winery’, or fancier ones like ‘Signorello Estates’ and ‘Clos du Val’. Parking lots full of cars and wine tour buses, the road lined with grape vines as far as the eye can see.
“There! There it is!” Cas points excitedly at the sign for the winery by a small road leading up to a group of buildings off the road. Dean turns onto it and drives up to the parking lot, pulling into a spot next to another of the ubiquitous wine tour buses.
Cas hops out of the car and comes around to the drivers side, taking Dean’s hand and all but pulling him from the car in his eagerness. Dean laughs and squeezes Cas’ hand, slowing him down so he can close and lock the Impala.
“Calm down, angel. The bees aren’t going anywhere.”
As they approach the group of buildings, the buzz of voices reaches them, light and happy. They follow the sound to the tasting room, where a small but enthusiastic crowd is gathered around a long counter. A… bartender, Dean guesses… pours a light amber wine into an empty wine glass, passing it to one of the waiting customers, a bubbly blonde. A second bartender pours her companion - a slight, salt-and-pepper haired woman - a darker reddish wine into her glass. They turn to each other and tap the glasses together with a bright clink.
“Cheers, Jodes!”
Dean stops dead in his tracks, his arm yanked hard by Cas who’s attention is on the corner of the room full of bee and honey paraphernalia.
“Dean…?” Cas turns to see what brought Dean up short and follows his gaze.
“Is that… Sheriff Mills and Sheriff Hanscum?”
The ladies turn towards them… and it’s Jody who recognizes them first.
“D-Dean? Dean Winchester?” she says, stammering in surprise.
“What about Dean?” Donna asks before following Jody’s shocked gaze. “Oh my! DEANO!”
She all but launches herself at him, Dean dropping Cas’ hand just before she envelopes him in a huge bear hug.
Cas manages to grab the wine glass from her hand before it ends up all over Dean’s back, as Jody approaches at a more sedate pace. “And Castiel! What brings you boys to Napa Valley?” She quickly lowers her voice. “You boys on a case? Where’s Sam?”
Dean extricates himself from Donna and turns to give Jody a warm hug. “No, no case - Cas and I are on a road trip,” he says, laughing at the expression on Cas’ face as Donna squishes him as well. He rescues Donna’s wine glass in turn, and hands it back to her when she’s done mauling Cas.
A flurry of conversation erupts - “Fancy meeting you here!” “What are you ladies doing out here?” “How are you boys?” “Dean and I are doing quite well, thank you.”
“So, where’s Sam?” Jody asks again, accompanying Dean and Cas as they head to the counter to get their own glasses of wine.
“He and Eileen are… hunting. Yeah, that’s it.” Dean waggles his eyebrows at Jody.
Donna bursts into a gale of laughter. “Oh I betcha that’s what they’re doin’!”
“C’mon, let’s getcha some wine and let’s go find a place to catch up.”
Dean gets a glass of the dark red wine, Cas the amber one, and they head to a table in the corner, away from the noise of the bar.
“So, what are you doing here?” Dean asks them again.
“Oh, we’re here on a wine retreat - ‘Cops and Corks’.” Donna jabs a thumb back at the group gathered around the bar. “I dragged Jodes here last year and we liked it so much, we came back!” She points between them. “What’s this I hear about a road trip?”
“There has not been very much activity since Chuck left,” Cas explains. “There’s still the occasional hunt but Sam and Eileen took the last one, and Dean was bored.” He takes a sip of his wine and his eyebrows raise.
Dean chuckles. “Like that, do ya, sweetheart?” His eyes immediately go wide as he realizes he just outed themselves... to Jody and Donna.
The girls don’t even blink an eye. “That’s really great,” Jody says, her voice warm. “You guys deserve it.”
Dean isn’t sure if she’s talking about the trip… or his inadvertent admission.
But… would it be such a big deal if they did know? Donna and Jody are family.
And Dean was done hiding his affection… his love… for Cas.
He reaches for Cas’ hand and gives it a squeeze. Cas turns and the smile he gives Dean lights up the room.
The conversation continues on from there - the girls are doing well; Alex has finished nursing school and is doing her residency now; Patience is still having visions but not as much anymore, she’s off to college and doing well; and Claire is still… well, Claire. Still going on the occasional hunt, still missing Kaia. Cas’ face falls at this news and vows to visit with her, turning to Dean for support and Dean nodding in agreement.
And for some reason, the motion of Cas looking to him like that brings back the anxiety of the botched proposal.
Their wine glasses are empty, and Dean sure could use another (although he’ll never admit to actually liking it - if asked, it’s just alcohol. But it’s actually pretty tasty).
“Who’s up for another round? I”m buyin’.” Donna and Cas are in deep conversation over the applications of knives over guns or something, but both absently raise a quick hand.
Jody tilts her head, her look inscrutable. “Sure, I could use another. Need a hand?”
Dean realizes that yes, he could use a hand - and not just with the wine. He nods and they set off towards the bar, empty glasses in hand.
“So spill, Winchester. What’s eatin’ you?” Jody asks as soon as they’re out of earshot.
Dean swallows nervously. “Well, I kind a spilled the beans about me and Cas back there…”
Jody takes both wine glasses in one hand and places her free one on his bicep, giving a gentle squeeze. “Yeah, and I’m glad.” She snorts and drops her hand. “And frankly, it’s about damn time.” She arches an eyebrow at him. “So, what of it?”
They reach the bar and place their orders. Dean sighs.
“Jody, I fucked up.”
Jody’s brows pinch in concern. “How so?” She looks back at the table, and Dean follows her gaze. Cas looks up at them, gives him a soft smile and a wave. Dean waves back, his heart in his throat.
Damn it, he loves Cas so much. How could he have fucked up so bad?
“Doesn’t look like he thinks so.”
Dean turns back to Jody, shoulders sagging. “Jody, I proposed to him.”
Jody’s eyes light up and she lightly punches his arm. “You dog! Congrats!” Then her face falls. “Oh, shit… he said yes, right?”
“Yeah, he said yes.”
Jody squints, puzzled. “So, how did you fuck up?” Her eyes grow hard. “You better have meant it.”
Dean’s eyes snap to hers. “Yeah… hell, yeah, I meant it!” He bites his lip and sighs. “But… I just blurted it out, Jody. No grand gesture, no nothin’. Just ‘Cas, marry me’. UGH”
He startles at Jody’s sudden peal of laughter, then grabbing his arm. “Oh Dean, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t laugh.” She stops laughing but her eyes are still dancing. “So, he said yes, right?”
“Yeah….?”
“Then you didn’t fuck up, Dean!” She gives his arm another squeeze. “You did just fine!”
“But…”
“NO BUTS,” she cuts him off sternly. “He said yes. You’re golden.”
“Jody, he hasn’t said anything about it since I asked.” Dean feels a pang in his chest - saying it out loud making his anxiety all that more real.
She shrugs. “Dean, he’s an ex-angel. They’re very literal creatures. He probably thinks it’s a done deal.” Then, she chuckles. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks you’re married already.”
Dean gives a wan laugh, and picks up his and Cas’ refilled wine glasses, Jody grabbing hers and Donna’s; and they head back to the table.
The uncertainty is backing off some, but there’s still some lingering doubt, and Jody’s mom instincts must pick up on it.
“Listen, Dean. Just because you asked and he said yes, doesn’t mean you can’t ask again - you could still do the grand gesture if it’s what you want to do.” She jostles his arm with an elbow. “I’ve seen how he looks at you, I’m pretty certain you’ll get the same answer.”
They rejoin Cas and Donna at the table. Jody hands Donna her glass, taking a sip from her own.
Dean sets the wine glasses down, and spins Cas around, pulling him into his arms.
“Love you, Cas,” he murmurs into his ear.
Cas squeezes Dean back. “I love you too, Dean. Always.”
“Ohmigosh, you two, get a room!” Donna chortles loudly, and Jody almost chokes on her wine.
Dean feels every bit of anxiety and uncertainty drain from him, and he laughs joyfully, leaning back in Cas’ arms. Cas’ smile is warm and wide, his eyes shining with love.
Releasing Cas but keeping an arm around his waist to hold him close, Dean raises his glass.
“To friends and family,” he intones, then looks down into Cas’ bright eyes.
“And to the future.”
He hears the glasses click as Donna, Jody, and Cas tap their glasses to his raised one, but he only has eyes for Cas.

- “ We already finished our battle so we decided to come and help you with yours” 😂😂😂 also technically you did not anwser his question
- I could quote their whole conversation honestly! I did not expect the episode to be so good before Ahsoka even arrives!!!
- “I know better than to try and stop you” well... I am just gonna leave this here without any comment
- “I have come to surrender” Look at him he can’t even say that without sarcasm 😂
- R2?

- OMG Ahsoka is giving Obi-Wan attitude....
- Anakin is so uncomfortable 😂😂😂
- I am so mad at Obi-Wan right now. I mean who’s fault is it that she is not part of the army any more? Yours! Because you and your whole counsel did not belive in her!
- Come on Obi-Wan!
- “May the force be with you” Okay I can forgive you bc I love you but you are really making it hard on me Obi!
- “He doesn’t seem to stay dead” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
- THE LIGHTSABERS!
- “Good thing I thought you otherwise” that is the kind of wholesomeness I have been waiting for!
- Also can we talked about the fact that he had Ahsokas lightsabers with him on a siege! Like he probably carried them with him everywhere after she left and took care if them in case she ever comes back......
- This is the last time they see each other? Good luck? GOOD LUCK? GOOD LUCK????? No hug, no snips, no skyguy, no I am proud of you? JUST GOOD LUCK?????!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME????!!!!! I am crying! I am literally crying!! I am not okay guys....
- Will we see the battle of couresant?
- No it is just Ahsokas fleet.
- How is half of the 501st this much? 😂
- It kinda looked like Ahsoka has a crush on Bo-Katan for a second 😂 but honestly I would not be against it
- This girl just reminded me so much of sabine from the back 😂
- Ursa!
- “Don’t need one” Rex smile.... I missed these two together so much!
- “Race you to the surface” she is so Anakins Padawn!
- I missed seeing her fight with lightsabers... I am so gay...
- “Thanks commander” I smiling so hard right now
- I think they just killed the Sabine lookalike 😂
- “Beat you” Anakin energy
- “Some things never change” 😭
- Commander Rex 😭
- Bo-Katan sounds so worried about her! That is kinda cute
- Ahsoka is walking straight into a trap but I have felt some many different emotions watching this that I simply don’t have the ability to worry about anything right know 😂
- I am so happy right now that neither Rex or Jesse have followed her into the tunnels...
- MAUL!
- “I was hoping for Kenobi. Why are you here?” Does he know her?
Okay so in conclusion: I am not okay. Not at all. And I am not satisfied! But I also I loved this episode so much!!!! I think I will watch it again today without pausing it.
So if you excuse me I will finish my Anakin & Ashoka video know and then probably cry for a few hours...

13 Wishes Howleen Wolf Diary
On the 18th of July
Mom barked me out of bed this morning saying that I needed to get out of her fur for a few hours. It was that or help her with housework, and since yesterday I spent all day sweeping the attic.... sooo much dust!... I was out of the doggie-door before she could say boo. It’s hard not to feel screeching jealous of Clawd and Clawdeen, cause they always seem to be busy during the summer while I’m stuck at home playing cobweb cleanup. It’s tough being the little sister of two of the most popular monsters on campus - Clawdeen has her pack of friends, and Clawd has his bluddies and Draculaura, too. Meanwhile I texted my beast friend, Twyla, to see if she wanted to come lurk in the park with me today, but she can be pretty nocturnal. Not that I mind moonlighting with her, but sometimes a ghoul wants to get out in the sun, yanno? I took my soccer ball and got some solo practice in, but it’s just not as clawsome by yourself... it made me feel kind of lame, actually. I did see Venus sitting by the trees at on end of the park, but it seemed like she was having a really intense conversation with the oaks and I didn’t want to interrupt. I like Venus, but you have to watch out for her when she’s on the environmental warpath, or she’ll totally talk your ear off. Anyway, after a little while I got distracted listening... okay, eavesdropping... on her (who knew trees had so much drama?) and kicked the ball onto the casketball court where some older monsters were playing. They got fangry, and I wound up packing up and going home with my tail between my legs. Now I wish I’d ignored them and kept playing, cause now I’m bored again. Sooo. Boooored. I’d even listen to Venus lecture me about the dangers of styrofoam... at least it would be something to do!
On the 23rd of July
It’s hard not to feel funky when everyone besides me has things figured out for themselves. Clawdeen has fashion and Clawd has sports, and they both seem to just know what they want. Mom and Dad say I shouldn’t compare myself to them, or anyone else, but that’s such parent advice that I don’t feel like it should count. Besides, it’s not like I don’t know what I want to do... well, okay, it IS that, but it’s also that I want to do everything?? Like, once I spent two weeks trying to make a viral video for FrightTube. Then the week after that I decided that it was totally my destiny to be a superstar singer. Then three weeks later I was totally focused on my future as a Howlympian athlete! And I haven’t stopped wanting to do any of that stuff, but it’s too hard to do it all, and impossible to pick only one, especially cause I don’t know what I’m really good at yet. I feel like I’m getting to a point where I choose or I lose. I mean, what if I discover my hidden talents too late to do anything with them? It’d be so, so tragic. That’s why I’ve been trying so much different stuff this year - music lessons, dance class, everything I can get my claws on. Something will click sooner or later, right?
On the 29th of July
Today I heard... okay maybe eavesdropped on... Draculaura telling Clawd about a big open mic poetry scream going on at the Coffin Bean at the end of the summer. I went on their web site page to check it out, and now I think I might want to try it out, too? I mean I’ve written some poetry, and I’m always accidentally rhyming all the time. And my hip-hop dance classes have totally infused me with the muse... see what I mean? Yeah... I think I want to do this! But I gotta text Twyla and see if she’ll come out for moral support. It’s at night, and the Coffin Bean is usually pretty dark, so she’ll have no excuse not to come - besides, she loves their cupquakes.
On the 30th of July
I finally talked Twyla into going to the Maul with me. If you let her she’d probably stay in the shadows all summer, but lucky for her I won’t let lurking boogiemen lie! We went to the fur salon, and I picked out some new colors for my ‘do - I’ve been letting it go natural lately, but that doesn’t stop me from switching up my style all the time. I wound up buying like five different colors because I couldn’t decide on just one. After that we split a big booberry smoothie at the food corpse and we talked for a long while. Well... mostly I talked, Twy listened, because she’s a clawsome listener. She let me howl about how was I supposed to pick what I wanted to do with the rest of my life if I couldn’t even pick a hair color? I asked her what she thought I should do, and she got this really freaky intense look, like she was thinking hard, and then she flicked my ear and said, “I think what you really want to do is plan out your whole life before you live it, and you can’t do that, so stop stressing out.” Which is both good advice and totally useless because you can’t stop stressing out just because you want to, like, when has that ever worked in all monster history? But I do feel better, somehow. I think it helped to just talk about it to someone who gets me and doesn’t laugh when I say dumb stuff. She also agreed to come cheer me on at the poetry scream. There’s a reason Twyla is my beastie. =)
On the 10th of August
Clawd and Clawdeen actually weren’t busy today for once. Even though they’re a pain in the fang, hanging with them can still be scary-fun. Sometimes. Clawd talked us into playing a pick-up soccer game in the backyard, and Clawdeen didn’t even get growly when she fell into one of the holes Clawd made along the fence... he likes to bury things in the dirt and dig them up later. I think it’s a boy thing. We’ve all got game, and later we did get into an argument about who had the most points - we’d said we weren’t keeping score, but no duh, of course we all were! But no one got their fur in a frizz about it for a change. After a while we were making up the biggest number we could think of and howling with laughter. Dad said later he almost didn’t want to call us inside for dinner because he loves seeing us act like one big happy pack. I think he misses when all my even bigger brothers and sisters were still at home... Mom teases that he’s got empty den syndrome. I miss my older brothers and sisters sometimes, too, but they aren’t that far away. (Plus, not that they’ve moved out, the wait for the bathroom is a LOT shorter.)
On the 13th of August
I think I’m getting cold paws. The poetry scream is in just a few days, and my brain has been going all over the place since I said I’d go. What if I get stage fright? What if I totally blank and forget the whole poem? What if I’m not even that good? ...Ugh, okay, I texted Twyla, and she convinced me not to give up the ghost. Plus she pointed out that since it’s open mic, I can always just show up and decided if I want to go ahead with it when I get there. Sometimes I wish I could borrow Clawdeen’s confidence, not just her clothes... she never seems scared of anything.
On the 18th of August
Whoa, I’m still shaking. The Coffin Bean was WAY more packed than I thought it would be. There had to be dozens of monsters there, and I was a total casket case even with my beastie at my side until I ran into Clawd and Draculaura. I sort of hadn’t told them I’d be there, so they were scary surprised to see me. And then they found out I was sort of thinking about maybe performing, they wouldn’t let me get away with not doing it. So I signed up and waited for my turn, even though I was so howling nervous I could barely hear the poets on before me, and then it was my turn. I was so wound up that my eyes were practically crossing with fright, but I saw my bro and Draculaura waving from the audience, and Twy giving me the claws-up, I sucked it up and read my poem. I had it memorized and gave it everything I had, and the monsters in the crowd really seemed to dig it. I didn’t like completely bring the house down, but when even the zombies slow-clapped at the end and Clawd whooped for me it felt just little bit epic. Then Draculaura when on with this mega-romantic and sweet poem and she had the whole audience wailing like banshees. Even I got a little teary-eyed, and Clawd was whimpering into his coffinchino... he made me promise not to tell anyone lol. Of course she won first place for the night - not that I’m moaning. She totally deserved it, and I came i third, which made me feel pretty clawsome about the whole thing. Even Clawd was patting me on the back and bragging that I was his little sis to anyone who’d listen... which was embarrassing, but whatever, kind of nice too. =) I gave Twyla the biggest hug for staying with me, too, especially since crowds are one of her fangups. I have to say, I really liked tackling my fears... it makes me think maybe I’m ready for a whole new me next year! Watch out, Monster High!

15x10: The Heroes’ Journey
Then:
Heroes
Now:
Monster Fight Club! RAWR. In one corner we have wolf-man and in the other, we have wraith-woman. I felt like I was watching a Sci-fi channel show or another show on the CW with this opening scene. I have to give it up to the music and cinema of the sequence though. It’s quite lovely, even as the wolf-man gets stabbed to (near) death.
Meanwhile, in tiny Lebanon, Kansas, Dean’s picking up essentials (plus pie magazines) at his local Kwik Trip.
I have many things to say about this. First, who knew Lebanon had such tall buildings in it? And I’ve read many a comment about Bobo getting his name on something, and while YES, that’s technically true, this Kwik Trip (a real regional chain of gas stations/convenience stores in Wisconsin) is also named after the comedian behind The Manitowoc Minute, Charlie Berens. The Open sign missing the ‘n’ is a reference to it as well. Bless Jerry Wanek and his love for his home state. Anyway, Dean’s credit card is declined, his fight or flight instinct kicks in when faced with the store attendant's psoriasis, he gets a toothache, AND he gets a parking ticket.
Sam Fucking I Don’t Need Hotpads Winchester royally messes up dinner by burning the food, dropping the pasta all over the food, and breaking all the plates.
The weirdness continues once Dean gets home. Sam trips when running to greet him and he’s getting a cold.
Dean gets a call from Garth who needs some help. On the road, they discuss their Very Bad Day. Dean thinks they’re cursed. Sam’s too busy sneezing to contribute. I’m surprised Dean didn’t make him sit in the backseat. (Did Dean seem sarcastically unhappy about Cas seeking out angel help? #missinghusbandhour). Then the ultimate travesty happens: Baby breaks down.
They have to walk the last ten miles to Garth’s. When they make it, he welcomes them with open arms (Sam declines the hug but Dean gets one and a compliment -- “You smell so good.”)
Garth was previously feeding his twin baby boys, and he takes them to meet his children. He has a daughter, Gertie, and twin boys, Sam (named after Sam) and...Castiel. Dean is confused and disappointed. I love how there’s no explanation as to why Dean didn’t get a namesake. Natasha wrote a thing though.
Garth then takes them to see why he called. Bess’s cousin is unconscious on Gertie’s bed. He has wraith cuts all over his body.
Dean, the candy eating monster that he is, nabs some candy beans from Gertie’s dresser and Garth notices his pained reaction to eating them. Dean makes note of how nice Garth’s home and life are. (SOFT) Sam sneezes again and Bess tells him she has something to help.
Beth hands Sam her family concoction for helping the common cold. Sam downs it in one go --and instantly has regrets. It’s mostly cayenne pepper. Wherps. Sidenote: Gertie’s little wolf stuffy. All the hearts!
Poor Sam really goes through something --and it is a sight to see. Little Sam and Little Cas are sympathy crying with him and he tries to reassure them that “Big Sam’s okay.” He’s really not.
Garth asks about Dean’s teeth and Dean confesses they’ve hurt since the previous day.
Garth takes Dean to his basement dentist office. It seems he finished getting his dental degree and is now a dentist for other werewolves. “Fang maintenance is a B.” He assesses Dean’s mouth and finds 17 cavities!
He rolls out the nitrous oxide and gets to work. We get to stay with Dean though, AND GOOD FUCKING CHUCK ON A CRACKER.
I can’t explain what I witnessed with my own two eyes. I really, really can’t. @neven-ebrez had a great thread on Twitter that I fully love.
In any event, Dean tap dances to Cole Porter’s Let’s Misbehave. Garth starts showing him the ropes, but then he takes over on his own and starts dancing with a light stick LAMP. He blows a kiss at the lamp and ascends a stairway to heaven the top of the map table and finishes his dance. They dedicated almost 2 minutes to this scene. I --I just. can’t. Also, Dean going for the lamp is timed to line up with the “lovebirds” lyric? I’m so very tired.
Anyway, Dean comes to with a mouth full of gauze, and presumably no cavities.
Everyone reconvenes in the Fitzgerald’s living room. Garth wants to know what’s happening. Sam tells him that they’re kind of on the outs with God. Garth realizes that they’ve been the heroes of Chuck’s stories, and wonders, “what’s that make me? A supporting character? A special guest star?” Garth's happy being the guest star. Being the hero is the worst. Their lives are going to suck until the end. Also, little vanilla couple Garth and Bess apparently love 50 Shades. Lol. Garth points out that the hero never sweats the small stuff because that stuff ruins the story. They’re normal now. (Dean suggests cursed, which, like, lol bud, normal people's lives just suck.)
Bess’s cousin calls for her and they all rush to his side. He doesn’t want to talk to hunters. Sam turns on the ol’ puppy dog eyes and….it does nothing. In fact, Brad can hardly believe that that shtick works at all. Ooof. Bummer, Sammy. Bess digs into the wraith wound to get some answers. And ugh. That was squishy grossness. Brad starts talking about the monster fights though. He tells them where to find the place.
The Winchesters bid Garth farewell. Garth is VERY WORRIED about them. “The old Sam and Dean” could handle a whole warehouse of monsters but the Supernormally Normal boys don’t stand a chance. Dean’s resolute. Fighting monsters, righting wrongs? That’s just who they are. Dean implores Garth to stay home with his wife and kids, and the Winchesters head off.
They arrive at midday outside the arena. Dean polishes off his SEVENTH grilled cheese sandwich and they gather weaponry to storm the place. Sam’s concerned that Garth’s theory that the Winchesters are normal is correct, and they need to take precautions. They gather extra ammo, dead man’s blood, and Dean pulls out his beloved precious weapon.
Upon entering, Sam immediately trips noisily over a bucket and Dean’s grilled cheese extravaganza decides to throw a party right back into his mouth. Dean races for a bathroom, leaving Sam to peruse the room holding the main fight cage.
While Dean is throwing up in the toilet, I desperately try to pretend this isn’t happening. I’m FINE with entrails but upchuck is a hard no, apparently. The bathroom stall opens and one of the monsters from the cold open’s fight night stands there, training Dean’s grenade launcher on him.
Sam and Dean end up locked in the cage-match cage (not to be confused with the CAGE cage). The monster, Cutty, owns the fight club. “Man? Monster? They’re at their best, their most pure, in the heat of competition.” Pardon me while I fake cough “Purgatory” for twenty-five minutes.
Cutty introduces them to their new friend, Maul, a huge monster who grimaces gloomily and flexes his muscles. He wants the Winchesters to fight Maul (together) in the cage match that evening.
Dean tries to tell a story to get out of the situation and I HAVE NEVER BEEN PROUDER. He draws on their legends - the mighty creatures they’ve taken down - and questions whether any MERE monster should even think about trying to attack them. Nobody’s buying what he’s selling.
A short commercial for the upcoming cage match plays. It’s….
AMAZING
All the monsters are gathered around, ready to watch the two mighty cage matches. KILLER WRAITH versus JAMAICA DJINN and MIGHTY MAUL versus THE WINCHESTERS!!!
It’s battle royale time, motherfuckers. When the first fight begins, Dean and Sam are locked up in cells just outside of the ring. “Just how I wanted to die,” Dean grouses. “With a freakin’ audience.” We shall not speak of the 200+ times we have witnessed Dean die on this show.
Dean pulls a nail from the ceiling and proceeds to try to pick the lock. He…fails. Miserably. Sam gives it a try on his lock and neither of them can pick it.
“Could we ever actually pick locks?” Sam asks, frustrated. I’m with others in guessing that both their natural and learned skills have been hugely demoted through Chuck’s interference and this downturn won’t last. But this is a great way to make them doubt themselves. This is the black moment in the hero’s journey - at least for this episode. They’ve never doubted themselves more! Dean delivers a stirring speech anyway. “We’re the best in the world. I say we go out there. We kick some ass.”
Cutty returns to fetch the Winchesters. “Shirts off,” he demands on the way. EYEBALLS EMOJI. But Sam and Dean are gone, the cage doors wide open! The episode rewinds, this time with another point of view. Who’s that lanky man in the floppy-eared hat walking through the crowd? It’s everyone’s favorite werewolf hero, that’s who. Garth frees them by just…BUSTING off the lock.
Outside, Sam and Dean are ready to flee. But Garth has other plans. He whips out a detonator and we get a quick clip show of Garth planting C4 around the club. The club is DECIMATED by fire. Maul survives, however, and strides out of the burning building. Garth goes up against him, but Maul knocks him out. Sam and Dean stand and face Maul, despite their low, low expectations of themselves. Like real damn heroes!
What follows is a HIGHLY comical fight. Sam and Dean do their absolute, precious best, but fortunately the fight seems to be operating on some modified Looney Toons rules.
Garth saves them with a machete through Maul’s head. “You got Garthed!”
Back at Garth’s home, Dean and Sam cradle the babies. “This Cas keeps looking at me weird,” Dean notes. “So kinda like the real Cas,” Sam says. OH SAM. OH SHOW. How we are blessed!
They head out, Dean clutching a bag of grilled cheese sandwiches from Bess. Sam and Dean thank Garth for saving them and call him a hero. Excuse me while I CRY FOR FIVE MINUTES this is so soft. “I guess I learned from the best,” Garth returns. Garth gives them a tip - a place in Alaska where you can go when your luck’s run bad. “There’s always a catch,” Garth warns.
They hug!
“You don’t smell so bad yourself,” Dean notes when he hugs Garth. “It’s Hai Karate,” Garth says. Guys. I love them.
Werewolves of London plays us out. Garth and Bess dance together through the window as the Winchesters get into the Impala. It’s. So. Precious. And. Warm.
“I always thought I could be a good dancer if I wanted to be,” Dean muses. Sam admits that Dean’s good at the Macarena. Ah, yes. My generation!
Dean and Sam reflect on their situation. Their lives are far from normal, so being “normal” is dangerous by its very nature. They need as many advantages as possible, so it’s time for a road trip to Alaska!
The music mounts dramatically! Triumphantly! It’s time to ride into the sunset!
Baby sputters out. “Son of a bitch!” Dean shouts as the screen fades to black.
Natasha: I can tell you IMMEDIATELY and WITHOUT RESERVATION that this episode is going to be on my short list of comfort rewatches for all eternity. <3
